Every time I try to put in my personal info it never updates! Also- why can’t you book appointments at my location from the app? It used to show who was working for the day and now nothing! Does show or save anything- my location just doesn’t participate? Not due to my network or devices- so terrible app- useless to me really ....

Can’t seem to find check in on the Green Bay Wisconsin site. Very frustrating. Spent a half an hour or more looking to see how I check in online for an appointment. Downloaded the app and that didn’t work either. Maybe it’s just me but your app and website seem technology deficient when compared with other before sites.

There needs to be a way to schedule an appointment through the app. In this present configuration, the only function you can perform is “check-in”, which you basically already do when you walk in the door.

There’s no place in the app to leave comments or review of the salon it’s self. On several occasions I have book an appointment at the Williston Vermont location on the app. Then the salon it’s self calls back and says that there’s no available appointments for several hours past your appointment. You should add a place to leave feedback for salon directly.

The app works great, but when I arrived, there was 30 minute wait, two hair colors in front of me. The employee stated that I should never use the app, it’s never accurate. So I used a competitors app which works much better and is very accurate.

I love being able to check in before I go. I can decide what time works the best for me, and which stylist I want. I hated going there and waiting forever to get my hair cut if they were busy. Only certain stylists cut my hair the way I want so I like having the option of picking my stylist. The only thing I wish this app had was being able to know which stylists were working the next day so I could check in the night before especially to get that first appt. But the check-in doesn’t work until they open for the day, so then I usually end up having to call to see when my favorites are working. This app saves me a lot of time from waiting at the salon so 5 stars from me!

I have always had a hard time trusting people to do my hair..well I took a big chance on going to smart styles in our Walmart. They have been the best! I love the way they took the time to cut my hair the way I wanted it. They styled it just the way I wanted. I trust them all the way!

Wish the coupons would be sent through to the app instead of emailed. In the app would allow for me to remember them. Emailed coupons get lost amongst a thousand useless emails that seemingly come through daily! Anyway, pretty cool app.

I can select my stylist and times if available for the day I want to go. I hope you will think about making the availability of the different stylists for the entire week. I now love this app so much better!!

I have attempted numerous times to “check in” and haven’t been able to even find it. I live 15 miles from 3 different salons and want only one stylist to cut my hair. The check in feature is a must... if I could find it. Also I would prefer a landscape orientation. So far I’m not impressed.
Issue with registration

The only issue is you can’t register using the App. When you get to the part when you have to select your salon, and you’re asked if you want to receive emails, the app freezes. The workaround is you must register via their website. Other then that, app works fine.

I’m editing my earlier review as I now know how the web site application works. I’m still keeping the two star rating. This review does not reflect on Ashley my stylist who does a great job in Fairbanks. The application has lots of product advertising information. However you would think there would be an icon for booking an appointment in the menu tab. Also explanation that appointment feature does not work until the local salon turns the check in feature on. It should say make appointment now or today! When I have used the appointment time to book it is not accurate due to walk-ins who are waiting for their hair style before the local salon opens for business. My understanding is once the salon opens approximately 45 minutes later the activated check in appointment application will function. This puts the stylist behind all day and the poor stylist has to play catch-up, no breaks and has to squeeze in a bathroom break! The stylist must all be suffering until they get their fist bathroom break. No drinking liquids! LOL :( Today, at 10:30am 11/11/18 the appointment check in application indicates that it is not working and to call in. I have tried for over an hour off and on and the phone is busy. It has to be bad for the stylist to have to try and take care of customers and answer the phone! There should also be an option on the web site to be able to schedule an appointment a couple of days in advance. Maybe the computer system would only allow a few appointments everyday in advance after 11:30am. This way when the stylist came in in the morning, they would be able to take care of the walk-in people who were there now and see what appointments were Pre-booked for the day. I would also like to be able to book my stylist that I prefer. Gee, this would require the web site and the local schedule to match when my stylist I want is working. I know there will be a problem when someone is sick. Hey how about a text reminder notice an hour before your appointment if the stylist is running behind? Also a text sent first thing in the morning if the stylist is off that day due to being sick. This does happen! The more notice the better to the client regarding delays. FYI, I just tried the phone number at at 12:25pm and phone still busy and no option available to make an appointment today. NO RESV BUTTON Icon button on Smart Style web site or in menu tab! This should be easy to find. Lars.

I want to be able to say to Siri “Heading to Walmart” and it checks me in at my preferred SmartStyle in Walmart so I don’t have to go into the app and do it.

This is a great way to Check-in however on the screen it should be different options other than shampoo, style and cut because some of us go there for more than just that. This way the stylist will actually what the client actually wants done, other than that I enjoy it.
It doesn’t give you an option of stylists... ever.

It’s nice buts it really annoying when a stylist has been working there for a while and their name still isn’t appearing on the app to select them. I have to call or go down to get put on the lost for my stylist please get it fixed

None of the 3 area shops do not accept the app. I thought it would be a great asset as I do not want to be there waiting all morning , when I would like to have an early morning appointment. When it finally opened up after 9 , it let me schedule an appointment for 12:15 ... got here and they did not have it. What a waste of time.

This review for the app only. There is no login option...you have to register only...I expected to see an option to save the gift card or online schedule etc. You can just browse the web instead of this app.

UPDATED Jan2018 Most SmartStyle Salons in my area has been closed, but the app has not been updated yet to reflect those salons no longer doing business. Hopefully Regis Corp. or another company moves into the empty spaces under a different name. ————————— Original review below —————————— The good: you can check the ESTIMATED wait time, can tell how many people are suppose to be working and each of their individual wait times. The bad: some Stylist are still going rough and making their own appointment books/not utilizing the check-in system put into place. Estimated wait times are normally way under estimated. I believe with time and training the system will improve. Improvements wanted: text confirmation and updates on wait times when doing a checkin

The app seems a bit broken currently since the last update in the beginning of October. It always worked great for me before that, now it’s not. When I try to choose my salon and check in, the option to check in isn’t there. And nothing is scrolling for me that should be able to be scrolled through. Nothing is loading correctly either. Just seems to be acting glitchy. If it gets fixed I’ll give a five star.

Ive been a stylist with smartstyle almost 6 years now. I had been at Supercuts when the app rolled out and it was great for their platform but, they literally just copied and pasted the app. These are two very different types of salons and on average we spend more times with our clients and that needs to be reflected in the wait time. There needs to be more options for service and yes I know not everything can be reflected service wise in the app but they could easily add some more options. Also wait times are not always realistic. Ive had a full book and the app has allowed people to make appointments leaving me try to fit someone in and that's not fair to either client or the stylist. I do like that you can check wait times and sign in which allows me to not have to walk away from a client to answer the phone or put someone in the computer. Fifteen minutes break times and lunches are already a joke so I won't even comment on that aspect. Overall I hope they make some improvements because I do like to tell me walk in clients about it but I have shied away from telling my more difficult color clients about it. Bottom line it needs some work!

I like the idea! As a stylist working for SmartStyle I think it's great! But I would like for there to be more options for services. Like a perm, kids cut or just a roller set or style. I've been having clients sign in for haircut but really wanting a perm and it messes up the wait time...

This app is us stylist's worst nightmare. We have no control over our schedule. The app DOES NOT know how long it will take for us on each individual client some take longer than others. How does the app know when we take breaks? I work at smart style and this app is the worst thing that's happened yet. Seriously people, just call to make the appointment. Cause the computer DOESNT see us working on people it DOESNT really know how long it will take us. Unless the computer has magical eyes and is watching us work don't use the app. End of story. We are furious about this.

A guy name Steve who works in Walmart's SmartSalon is friendly, excellent guy who knows what I like to get my hair cut. I do highly recommend Steve to any guy or men and boys to let Steve do their hair cuts or whatever. He's not snobby, doesn't cut your hair in a bad way, he does not talk hateful to no one, and he is a great guy! I wouldn't let no one else cut my hair except Steve. Way to go Steve!!!!

I am thrilled that I can now check in ahead of time when I need a haircut! Seriously, such an awesome service and a time saver when I am running errands. Thank you SmartStyle! And also love that I can pick my stylist. Nicole is the best!

I’m editing my earlier review as I now know how the web site application works. I’m still keeping the two star rating. This review does not reflect on Ashley my stylist who does a great job in Fairbanks. The application has lots of product advertising information. However you would think there would be an icon for booking an appointment in the menu tab. Also explanation that appointment feature does not work until the local salon turns the check in feature on. It should say make appointment now or today! When I have used the appointment time to book it is not accurate due to walk-ins who are waiting for their hair style before the local salon opens for business. My understanding is once the salon opens approximately 45 minutes later the activated check in appointment application will function. This puts the stylist behind all day and the poor stylist has to play catch-up, no breaks and has to squeeze in a bathroom break! The stylist must all be suffering until they get their fist bathroom break. No drinking liquids! LOL :( Today, at 10:30am 11/11/18 the appointment check in application indicates that it is not working and to call in. I have tried for over an hour off and on and the phone is busy. It has to be bad for the stylist to have to try and take care of customers and answer the phone! There should also be an option on the web site to be able to schedule an appointment a couple of days in advance. Maybe the computer system would only allow a few appointments everyday in advance after 11:30am. This way when the stylist came in in the morning, they would be able to take care of the walk-in people who were there now and see what appointments were Pre-booked for the day. I would also like to be able to book my stylist that I prefer. Gee, this would require the web site and the local schedule to match when my stylist I want is working. I know there will be a problem when someone is sick. Hey how about a text reminder notice an hour before your appointment if the stylist is running behind? Also a text sent first thing in the morning if the stylist is off that day due to being sick. This does happen! The more notice the better to the client regarding delays. FYI, I just tried the phone number at at 12:25pm and phone still busy and no option available to make an appointment today. NO RESV BUTTON Icon button on Smart Style web site or in menu tab! This should be easy to find. Lars.
