I’ve used it for professional layouts for web design ideas and it’s a great mobile design tool to get things going in a project for rapid iterations in the starting stages.” – Ben MacKay “Firstly, I think Comp is a great application, so many times those sketches on paper are so much easier for expressing ideas and pop! This app turns that into a reality. I love having the app in my pocket so I can trial something if I have an idea while walking or commuting.” – Andrew Paul Hayward You can also take advantage of other Creative Cloud services like: ADOBE STOCK Incorporate high-res, royalty-free photos and images as temporary or licensed assets. Cannot send to indesign!

This app is a five star app if I could send to other software as it’s supposed to do but since I can’t my work is stuck on my phone.
It’s a start but not there yet

I’m having trouble with this app when it come to trying to access my adobe stock account and placing images I already licensed. I feel kind of limited when it comes to bream storming design ideas.

I love this app as far as design goes. I’ve had a handful of issues with it though. In terms of fonts and layouts and all that stuff it’s great, but there are a few problems that I’m hoping get fixed in the next update. - The first (and biggest) problem I’ve had is that I can’t export with a transparent background. What??? I use this to create stuff for prints, coffee mugs, t-shirts, etc., and I can’t export anything with a transparent background. It doesn’t even give me a choice. It’s either a white background or whatever I created to cover the white. - The second problem is related to the first, and it’s that I can’t export things directly to the other Creative Cloud iPad apps. I can’t bring in text to Fresco. This wouldn’t be as big a deal if I could export with a transparent background. - Third, it seems to have mostly resolved, but I keep getting told that I can’t export at higher than 72dpi. I’m a paid Creative Cloud user, and it tells me that I have to be paid to export at a higher resolution... Huh? - Last, the files don’t appear live anywhere else but within this app. I can open a file on either my phone or iPad and it’s there, but if I want to open it in illustrator (to get that transparent background), I have to “Send” it, which works only about 30% of the time. I can’t go into my cloud files and retrieve them manually, or open the files in any other program without exporting them somewhere. All of these things are “minor”-ish, but they’re hugely annoying. Especially the transparent background thing. If they would add that feature, I wouldn’t HAVE to export to illustrator.
I Am Loving It
by Crystal the Mighty on 2020/06/11 14:52
I can mock up a design really fast with this app. And unlike PS, I can copy the text and paste it into a design instruction document to make things easier for development. I’m just getting started with the suite of Adobe apps, so I don’t have much more to say just yet!
Adobe Comp can’t FLIP 🖕

Using this app is like trying to use a page layout program with my big toe. I cannot flip photos. 🤲 👐 🙌
Adobe is King
by Neptunes Trident on 2020/04/27 21:46
Computer programs or phone app’s. Adobe has an incredible diversity of products that allow someone with mediocre computer skills look like a computer program super genius working with a top of the line supercomputer. It is without a doubt the best software on the planet out to geosynchronous orbit. If I’m not doing it justice it’s because there is nothing to compare it to. There’s Adobe and there’s everything else. There’s a lot of great software out there, just nothing you can even compare with. It’s not fair to other software manufacturers. I like it.
Good in theory; nightmarish to print!!!
by AmaMars on 2020/04/24 02:57
2020: Now with a new iPhone, I can’t select anything at the bottom of the screen as it is obscured by the home bar. 🤦🏾‍♀️ The actual function of the program is lovely and elegant. The gestures are clean and intuitive. Easy to mock up a layout. The trouble came this morning when I tried to print. What a nightmare! I printed to an Epson via wifi; the first sheet worked great. But after that, everything fell apart. I couldn't print any more pages whatsoever from the same document. The print screen froze repeatedly. I tried everything. The job never made it back to the printer. Worse, when I exported both pdf and image to print by itself the quality was terribly low in both. I tried printing on a different printer. Adobe Comp CC got worse. I attempted to print to an HP and my phone completely went black. Shut all the way off. I was horrified and had to hold the power button for 15 seconds or so till it came back on. Basically, printing from my phone was a fail. My mobile productivity with this program is severely hindered without being able to print. EDIT: I cannot upload to Google Drive either as a PDF. That is a real issue that I should remove another star for. But I won't. If you are using an iPhone and you have an issue like mine and need to print something from Comp, here is a sure fire workaround: Never print via image share!!! Share PDF to iBooks, and then print from there. It will be lovely quality with no hiccups. EDIT 2: Another issue I've noticed with this app is that elements have a tendency to move after exporting documents, especially as pdfs. For example, I've mocked up great compositions only to find images or shapes have shifted on top of each other or off the page entirely. It's frustrating. Why do items move around that way? Exporting as an image is a no go as the quality is atrocious. Edit December 2016: as of now this app continues to spaz out when I need it most. I have a couple blocks of text and text editing spasms when trying to use it. Elements continue to move; pdfs look terrible because of this. If these glitches were fixed I would be elated.
So thrilled to have

I love this app, it saved me this week in while I was working out of state and had to work on a project. My only issues are that it crashes a lot and there is now way to set the typeface and for it to stay that way for the whole project.
The Best Way to Prepare a Social Media Post
by Michael2033 on 2020/04/01 16:30
Instagram and others only allow a certain page ratio so that the image displays well on the feed (for Instagram it’s 1.7777:1 to 1:1.25, or a landscape computer screen to an 8x10) so if you want to post something taller and skinnier than an 8x10 ratio like a standard 4x6, it will crop part of your photo. With Adobe Comp, you can take your photos and mount them on a solid color layer that is the correct size for social media and it won’t crop. For example, you could take that 4x6 and put it on an 8x10 matte. If you make the photo as tall as the matte, there will be some bars on the side, which is an unfortunate limitation if you want to post without cropping, but you can make those bars any color or pattern you want. You can make it work for you. I wish IG had a way for you to do this in app haha
Great delivery

Great for mock-ups. I don’t think I won’t use another program. I am sold on Adobe Creative Cloud and would recommend to anyone. I do not write reviews for many products or programs. Take my word on this on. I have a degree in Communications. These programs are top shelf!

Adobe finally fixed the problem with InDesign

Comp works with InDesign again. I am very happy with the product now, after spending the last three years creating a highly illustrated book.
Broken on iPhone X
by (THE TRUTH) on 2020/02/27 01:44
The login screen never goes away. Absurd design. there’s a Facebook login button but it is located below the horizontal “swipe up” line so you can’t really click it. If you do click if, it kicks you back to the same login screen and you can’t ever use the app. Just a terrible UX.
Major Update Please
by CBerry on 2020/02/19 19:11
Now that Photoshop and Illustrator for the iPad have advanced, please update this app to use with InDesign. You don’t know how much I could get done at work. Being able to create layouts is wonderful, but it would be so much better if Adobe made improvements to this app to be able to do more. I know this is for Adobe XD, and I use it for that sometimes, but please give us more features or make it compatible for InDesign CC! Trust me, there is a huge demand for this! Thanks in advance Adobe.😉
Love this app
by ClarkUra on 2020/02/19 04:35
Please fix that every sentence capitalizes the first 2 letters of the first word. LIke this. IT is the only flaw in this awesome app.
Probably the best Adobe has made
by Ogdila on 2020/02/17 02:53
This is probably the best iOS app I’ve seen by Adobe, don’t screw it, keep it simple and nice. Don’t take the production to Indians, they already destroyed all your apps.
Wonderfully well designed. Lacking in a few Critical details
by dernhelm7 on 2020/02/05 09:40
I love using this app. I’ve been looking for a way to mock up on the iPad, and this is even better than the options I would’ve imagined. Just sketching what I want is the best UX! Unfortunately there are serious issues. Saving and sharing lock up the app. Want to share a link to your project or save it? Endless loading screen. Right now I have to save each picture individually and compose in another app. I would love to be able to update this review if these bugs are resolved.
A great image and text compositing app, with TypeKit features.
by Jayammon on 2020/01/25 18:42
I like being able to sit in any position while I create, and Adobe Comp allows me to do just that on my iPad. Adobe includes access to Creative Cloud custom shapes, for outlines, as well as TypeKit fonts, for fancy script. A great page design app in its simplicity.
Not working properly on iPhone 11
by Bird poooooh on 2020/01/05 21:35
Drawing tools aren’t working properly and menu items are two close to the bottom of the screen. The slider for the layer order interferes with the home bar at the bottom. The idea for this is great but there are always bugs when I give it another shot. I love Adobe products in general, so this doesn’t seem to be on par for the brand in my opinion. Look forward to fixes.

Where’s the update?
by #1 MUSIC on 2019/12/03 23:50
The problem with this app is it’s almost there but lacks key components. A trend that is all too familiar with Adobe products. Remember when Adobe XD lacked fixed header functionality for a while. It basically rendered the whole point of UX/UI worthless if you wanted to scroll. Same story with Adobe Comp. A couple more functional components would be game changing such as a pen tool and more advanced type treatments. There are already a couple vector apps out there so many tools but their app experience is cumbersome. I heard Adobe is working on an illustrator version for the iPad coming out next year. Let’s hope it works for the iPhone as well.
Great for quick creative layouts
by danofthelake on 2019/12/02 13:39
I really like using Comp for quick layouts of my ideas and social media posts. I'd almost call it perfect, but for two small things. 1. Trouble with text I have trouble typing in the text box, because it seems to move as I type, in addition this makes it hard to move the cursor to edit. 2. Share this photo isn't always responsive When I want to share the photo by saving to to my camera roll I have to press share multiple times, as it doesn't always bring up the second menu. Overall it fits my needs, and I really love the creative flexibility it lends me in laying things out however I like.
Could be so much more
by Konek on 2019/11/10 19:09
No major improvements since inception. It could be a game changer for the mobile on the go designer but just hasn’t improved since.

Bug with Grids + Guides
by katmandm on 2019/10/04 23:12
I used to like using this app but it’s been acting up for awhile. Mainly it’s when I try to add grids or guides to a page I’m creating. Once I’m in the Grids + Guides section, I have no problem adding the guides, etc, but then when I hit “done” nothing happens. I’m unable to return to the document and continue working on it. I’ve tried uninstalling / reinstalling the app but it’s still not working. Hope Adobe fixes this bug soon so I can continue using Comp.

major features missing
by ueeeeehty on 2019/08/26 11:10
cant export all screens in a project to pdf at once...must do each individual one. screen notes aren’t nativity supported and notes you put on the side of your screen are barely readable and are lost on pdf export. cant export project to adobexd. this is the fastest low fidelity wireframe/mockup tool on ipad with virtually zero learning curve but missing needed features that would enable user to finish project idea and export pdf in a manner that it could be emailed to designers with inline notes. So i’m stuck with using balsamiq wireframe on desktop....which is fine because everything is there, it’s just not as convenient as tablet.
Easy to use.

I am your textbook quintessential old-school designer...Over 20 years using the Adobe programs dating back to 1999. So getting used to the streamlined abilities of the apps took some time. But now I am as devout a devotee as I have been to the rest of the Adobe creative cloud programs. Adobe Comp is now my go to program when I don’t want to drag out my laptop to create something quickly.

Fastest Way to Mock-up on the go. Period.
by Storiwr on 2019/05/11 14:22
I am so happy they finally released an update for this app! I’d nearly given up. Until they create a version of XD for iOS this is the next best thing. Gestures make it so you can wireframe like one would on a napkin, except your crude shapes actually become the objects you’re trying to represent. It’s also very easy to toss in some watermarked Adobe Stock images as placeholders until you find the assets you want. My only complaint about using the app is changing the background and layering elements can be a pain. It also worries me how long this app went without updates. Comp shows the direction I want Adobe to pursue: more intuitive tools that stay out of the way when creating. There are many tools in here I’d like to see in inDesign and other legacy apps. You can’t quite get a final design on here. What’s amazing, however, is how close you can get. Way better than a pad of paper!

There are a few things that I wish it were easier and available for this app.But it is a phenomenal application for what I need to be able to do

Crashes when transferring to desktop
by Wild521 on 2019/03/30 21:14
Ever since this app crashes when trying to transfer to a adobe desktop app (inDesign, Ai, PS). This is being experienced by most users. Adobe has yet to address this isdue!

by robé rto on 2019/03/26 01:03
Is adobe going update anything anymore?? Majority of their apps are dated, everything is priced high but their UX/devoloper team needs to replaced with fresh minds of this era. Their desktop apps need college training just to use them.
Fine when it works. Typical Adobe slowness
by Sean Kennedy Santos on 2019/03/15 10:06
I’m working on an IPad Pro 12.9 maxed out. Yet again... Adobe has a great product that is inherently riddled with bugs and issues. It continues to chock, it’s slow as ever in opening files & interchanging between projects. I literally sit here watching the screen upload content to the project. In this day and age, that’s unacceptable- especially when you are a subscriber.
What am I doing wrong?
by snichols4 on 2019/03/10 12:32

La herramienta perfecta para iPads
by The Itchy Peachy on 2019/03/04 16:53
Great potential but needs more attention
by amkdavies on 2019/03/02 21:11
I agree with most of the other reviewers - I want this to be worthy being in company with the rest of the Adobe CC apps, but it’s not. For quick gestural layouts, awesome. Importing logos, photos, artwork from CC files and libraries - perfect! Let me rotate things - easily - not trying to spin them with two fingers. That’s tedious. Let me link multiple screens with hyperlinks. Let me export to any CC desktop app with functionality - especially InDesign, Muse, Dreamweaver, Photoshop.

Was thrilled to see comp and was one of the most useful tools in mocking up designs before polishing in CC on a desktop. It hasn’t been updated in a year, Adobe?! You need to fix bugs in this program. It crashes every time I try to export and I’ve had a number of issues where I got error messages for not being a member when I was always signed in for my CC account. Bummer to have such a useful tool that can’t execute properly due to unnoticed and unattended issues. :/ Would be a 5-star review if updated.

by ellemero on 2019/02/22 01:11
I’ve used and loved this app for over a year now only to find it crashing on me today! I called customer service and against asked me “ what is Adobe Comp”? I’m a paid subscriber and use Comp to design and layout then to send to Photoshop CC to finalize. I have deadline and no one is able to help? I value all of adobe programs, but this is not good business.

No new features in YEARS
by dnerris on 2019/01/29 21:11
I love the app but I’ve had it since 2015 and its the same app. Nothing new, no new functionality or features. Don’t believe me? Check the app’s version history. It’s disappointing especially with the demand for simple yet professional wire framing apps for iPad pros these days.
It’s a two way street...
by jtriste636 on 2019/01/28 20:51
Before I begin, all of this is is new to me. I am learning as I go. I am a subscriber to LR CC, IOS. Main reason I subscribed is Adobe was the only reputable company that offered IOS Mobil apps other than Google Snapseed, which by the way is also an amazing app. More user friendly upfront than Adobe in my opinion. However, thats what lead to the title of this review. For those who feel Adobe lacks, or that it was not as good as before, well take a look in the mirror and ask yourself, what have you done to better yourself? Chances are, you have not taken the time to learn and understand all of the changes made or new features and benefits that come with the new version updates. I am new and quickly finding out there are a several apps that work with some and not others. If you know what each app is intended to be used for, you will not be disappointed. Forcing the users to reach out for support definitely will increase efficiency and productivity by automatically weeding out users who are not willing to take the time and learn. With all the available learning resources and several different ways to contact them for support, its easy to find out which apps you need to use together in order to provide what you are looking for.

1. Would like to export multi page docs 2. Constantly asking me to pay for a subscription 3. Can’t draw pictures on the app 4. The people who have paid for their subscription are no happier than me with the free version 5. So I’ll continue to use the free version until they make it into something I can’t live without. Meanwhile, I’ve had good success using the app GoodNotes and it’s a lot cheaper
Come On Adobe
by Meeting buds on 2019/01/01 01:16
I love how quick you can creat shapes or a comp but there’s a few things this app is missing. It’s difficult to rotate shapes, you can’t easily freehand draw and the most surprising- your files save as really low resolution comp. Technically you can save a PDF but it’s not easy if you just want a simple JPG file. You have to download another Adobe app to import the PDF and resave. It’s time consuming and too many steps. I’m not sure why they left this option out. I’m going to try some other apps in the meantime.
Needs a feature.

I’m a 20+ year pro user of Adobe (and its previous competitor’s) products and I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this app is great for quick projects like social media posts. If you have templates set up, you can create an image in just minutes, right in the app.

This App had a lot more potential, but for some reason it seems the creator just fizzled out half way through. Unfortunately Adobe is responsible for several large scale data breaches. I’m offended that most of Adobes products are overpriced and no relief from discounts to large customer blocks.

Needs An Update
by Zachary Khan on 2018/10/17 05:04
This app is probably the best app out there for rapid prototyping and wire-framing. I use this all the time, but ever since updating to iOS 12.0 and the iPhone X I’ve noticed the app has not been optimized for the larger screen size. I would expect a company as prominent as Adobe to keep their products updated. I wouldn’t even mind paying a small price to support this app - whatever it takes to keep it updated. Otherwise, 6/5 stars.
Good But...could be great! iPhone 7 Plus

Very nice and easy to use and understand. Extra tweaks and options (could) be added to enhance the experience on the phone platforms. But it is very nice!!
Just one more feature and this would be perfect.
by Cbantrox on 2018/09/07 16:37
I absolutely love this app for mocking PDFS. It saves so much time. The thing is, there is no way to export a multi page document, and that’s where all the time I saved mocking up starts piling up again when I have to export the pages 1 by 1 into illustrator, or indesign to be able to finish up the pdf. I have been looking online and this feature has been requested years ago, how can it take this long? I own the entire suite, this should be fixed by now. I get excited every time there is an update thinking this is the one. Please don’t let this feature ruin such a good product.
Incredible tool
by lone eyeball on 2018/09/03 15:24
I just started using this last week and I cannot believe the power of a simple iPad app. I was able to layout and adjust a pitch deck in record time with better visual results. Easy marriage with full powered adobe apps let me to polish. This has literally changed my approach to design. Amazing.
Great App interactions but the functions fall short.
by Nick agu on 2018/09/02 15:34
This app is a great idea but it restricts the workflow capabilities by not giving you enough pro tools to complete the work in the iPad as muchv as posible before migrating to the desktop apps for finishing up.

by Jonnybraz on 2018/06/30 07:00
A couple years back I was looking for an app to wireframe in quickly. Had just got an iPad Pro an thought it was the perfect time to move away from sketching ideas on paper..... unfortunately adobe decided to make 18 separate apps that each do 1 thing...sounds like fun. I need this app to have the freehand vector drawing power of the illustrator app, and then some type of interaction functionality. Right now it’s in like a weird limbo state, I can’t really start with ideas because it creates automatic shapes and doesn’t let me draw a simple line. But the illustrator app doesn’t let me type text...the closest thing I found was an app called Concepts. But that Concepts app has some of the worst UX, and everything important is behind a paywall. I already have an adobe subscription but to my dismay...they fell short on most of these iPad versions.
Lacks some basic needs
by HBSteve on 2018/06/23 14:25
Update: Not sure which app the “App Store editors” were using because this definitely does not do “touch gestures” as they mentioned. Yes for basic mockup but no interaction. They smoking something? Need to import into xd or other apps to add other abilities. ——- Only used for a day and it’s interesting but first thing which is the most basic thing it lacks. Paste. I’m constantly needing files from other things, or text or icons. Need to simply be able to copy and paste into a mock. Soon as that’s added will be much more useful.
Great concept. Please keep developing it.
by Katy Gutiérrez on 2018/05/30 07:53
This concept is really good! I keep telling everyone about it but it still lacks a lot of features for me to actually being able to incorporate it to my workflow in a meaningful and efficient way. I am a product designer and I want an app where I can develop my ideas as fast as I can. I wish I could resize the canvas and create individual projects with multiple canvas (or pages). I see the potential that this app has. I see myself coming into meetings and creating concept ideas on the fly or using it during a brainstorm session or kickoff. Even for quick concept validation. I really hope Adobe takes priority on this app because it is definitely what is missing for the UX/UI world.

This app, along with so many of your other apps have not only made owning my small business a possibility, but provided a platform for my creative pursuits. Huge thanks to the development team! I would love to see more crossover functionality. Specifically SPARK POST!! This would combine the best of both my favorite and most used work spaces. I design UI for web applications and do so from the mobile view up. Starting at the mobile view is made much easier for me by designing on my iPhone. Adobe Spark, Lightroom, Photo Mix, and now this app mark it possible. My ideal flow would also involve being able to export to HTML from mobile as well, and even export directly to services like Google Cloud Storage, Slack, or Github. If you want to take it one step further, allow us to view and edit the project through a text editor with HTML, import HTML, and even launch projects to browser view; all on mobile. Thank you again

I love this app. I use it on a weekly basis for my sons homework. I’m not understanding why on export I am getting on exports to 72dpi and I have to upgrade. I’m an Adobe Scriber so I don’t understand that. Can someone answer how to fix that part? Other than that it’s a great app.
Love it, also hate it!
by Forest2024 on 2018/04/16 03:05
I have been using this app since it launched in 2015. And I have connected Comp CC with my Adobe Creative Cloud Plan, but sometimes when I want to save it as image or pdf, it always says I need to subscribe a plan. But I already subscribed a plan, it becomes very inconvenience! I hope Adobe will fix that problem! That’s why I canceled my Adobe Creative Cloud plan with extra charging me 50% of my plan annual fee! BYE!
What a Hot Mess
by Wakawaka44 on 2018/03/27 15:54
I have never written a review before but I was so outraged by the lack of functionality in this app that I had to say something. The critical issue is that you can’t get your creations off your phone/iPad in any reasonable manner. I mocked up 26 pages only to find if I want them exported to InDesign, I have to send them one by one. And that’s not easy cause you have to have your computer open and then logged into CC. What a monumental waste of time. My exec needed a PDF hard copy of the project ASAP for review and I had to literally sit for a half hour clicking each and every one of the pages. I mean, who is the genius who thought only providing a link option and an export to BeHance was a good idea? What a huge fail. And then there is the overall lack of functionality. Since there is no inDesign for the iPad, this app seems like a good option. Nope. Too little functionality. You can’t even rotate a shape. So much wasted potential.
Stunning, could be so much more
by aberrantartist on 2018/03/26 15:59
Simple and unique gesture based functionality is fun and easy to use. It takes design to a whole new level. This is a wonderful app that every designer needs. Now, why did I give it 3 stars? Because there is so much left for it to improve upon. First, the paste function is no longer working for me and hasn’t for months, and the send feedback also does not work. Secondly there needs to be greater depth of features such as drop shadows for elements, gradient colors, and further manipulation of shapes like Adobe Illustrator and Indesign have. This could mean adding a pen type tool and allowing people to manipulate individual anchor points and handles and even delete them. A Boolean editor would be Ana amazing addition as well. I realize that these are mean to compliment the desktop apps, however, the world is moving to mobile more and more and if Adobe doesn’t keep it that would not be good. Lastly, the RGB selector does look nice, and works when simply adjusting colors that haven’t been preselected, but it is difficult to land on just the right number values if there is a specific color you need. If you could type in the/alums in addition to the sliders, this would be preferable. Let’s do this and make Adobe even more amazing!!

May be for prototyping but the end result is a poor user experience
by Aetheria on 2018/03/04 20:52
This should be a great app and I was getting used to its unusually creative approach to the Apple Pencil. Unfortunately I feel like I’ve been hijacked into adobe’s closed ecosystem of awkward, hard to understand, diapered approach to a cloud of work that never quite feels like you actually “own” any of your work anymore. I’m uninstalling this app and going back to a third party PDF creation tool that provides me more flexibility with how I share my work.

There was a bit of a learning curve with the gestures and selecting items, but it wasn’t too long. I love how this app reimagines how to make a layout intuitively with gestures instead of just making it a miniature version of a desktop page layout app.

Pasting text is broken
by JoePeterWilson on 2017/10/02 17:07
I want to love this so much. I have so many uses for this app, but pasting text is too important of a feature to be broken. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it still won’t let me copy text from Safari and paste into a text box. The paste button appears, and when I push it nothing happens. This would be an easy 5-stars if pasting text worked.

This app is very simple and easy to use. Great for flyer/brochure designs. But have all ur edited photos & art already drawn/saved in ur photos or other compatible apps. With design, photo or art apps u either get one or the other. The art apps have very limited text features for brochures/flyers. Design apps have limited art features. Photo editing apps r limited on both drawing and text. To do a project with text, custom graphics & photo editing, u have to switch between different apps. Ive bought and downloaded a lot of apps but this is the most useful for creating text layouts. One thing i would add is the ability to customize page size and to do multiple pages in one project. Or maybe a trifold brochure option

Often Misunderstood
by kerelenko on 2016/12/30 01:52
The app and what is was designed to do is misunderstood and some people even give it a bad rap because they can't afford the monthly subscription. Those are the people who do not respect the value of the tools designers and developers use. Comp CC is the main reason I bought an iPad pro 12.9. It helps with design and prototyping. It is great to be able to "sketch" ideas and functionality of a website or an app or a layout while sipping coffee on the couch and not in front of a computer screen. Comp CC is for building ideas and prototyping and not intended for final work output. You are expected to finish your work on your computer using the full suite of Adobe CC programs.
Could take more advantage of iPad tools
by Pavamarie on 2017/05/02 17:02
Absolutely fantastic wireframing software. The gestures are extremely intuitive and useful. Mockups that used to take me hours can be finished in a fraction of the time with Comp CC. The ONLY reason that I can't give Comp CC five stars is the lack of a drawing feature. I know in wireframes you typically don't sketch, but there are certain times when drawing a few lines or small icons is incredibly helpful. Comp designs are supposed to be finished on the full Adobe suite, but once you take it over to the computer, you lose the magic of drawing with the Apple Pencil. The draw feature would be incredibly easy to integrate, and if it was, Comp CC would most definitely get a 5/5.
Just one more feature and this would be perfect.

Adobe is King

Computer programs or phone app’s. Adobe has an incredible diversity of products that allow someone with mediocre computer skills look like a computer program super genius working with a top of the line supercomputer. It is without a doubt the best software on the planet out to geosynchronous orbit. If I’m not doing it justice it’s because there is nothing to compare it to. There’s Adobe and there’s everything else. There’s a lot of great software out there, just nothing you can even compare with. It’s not fair to other software manufacturers. I like it.
Great app but could be improved.
by ZenoArts on 2017/08/10 05:44
I'm really enjoying using this app to create tight, clean wire frames quickly and easily, especially with the Apple Pencil. However, with a few rather simple additions the productivity of this app could increase ten fold. 1. Ability to group multiple objects together and reposition/resize them together. 2. Some sort of direct selection tool to allow users to select one or multiple objects easily without accidental using the draw wireframe feature. 3. Multi-page functionality/multiple art boards.
Cant duplicate or paste copied objects! And some few suggestions
by ShaafPlayz on 2017/04/08 14:29
I really cant do anything without those features! Please fix it! I don't want to delete the app either! -------------Suggestions------------ 1.(---------MOST IMPORTANT--------) Give us the option for creating masterpieces on a transparent/empty/alpha background Rather than the plain old paper! 2. Give the ability to blur objects and images like we make them transparent. 3. Give us the option for adding stroke around images. 4. Give us the option for combining 2 or more shapes/objects together and combining them as one shape/object/mesh so when we slide the opacity slider, it will not show all the shapes. 5. Give us more shapes(if there are any left). 6. Give us the ability to add fonts directly from Safari to the app rather than going to pc and adding them! Thank You The Best App Alive

I would love to be able to update this review if these bugs are resolved.

major features missing
by ueeeeehty on 2019/08/26 11:10
cant export all screens in a project to pdf at once...must do each individual one. screen notes aren’t nativity supported and notes you put on the side of your screen are barely readable and are lost on pdf export. cant export project to adobexd. this is the fastest low fidelity wireframe/mockup tool on ipad with virtually zero learning curve but missing needed features that would enable user to finish project idea and export pdf in a manner that it could be emailed to designers with inline notes. So i’m stuck with using balsamiq wireframe on desktop....which is fine because everything is there, it’s just not as convenient as tablet.

But now I am as devout a devotee as I have been to the rest of the Adobe creative cloud programs. Adobe Comp is now my go to program when I don’t want to drag out my laptop to create something quickly.
Come On Adobe

I love how quick you can creat shapes or a comp but there’s a few things this app is missing. It’s difficult to rotate shapes, you can’t easily freehand draw and the most surprising- your files save as really low resolution comp. Technically you can save a PDF but it’s not easy if you just want a simple JPG file. You have to download another Adobe app to import the PDF and resave. It’s time consuming and too many steps. I’m not sure why they left this option out. I’m going to try some other apps in the meantime.
Love this app, however.

This app helps me greatly, working on the road. And then finish when I get back on the stationary IMAC in the office. My problem is that I often need the to give each file in a project a name, but just can't figure out how. Only a project can have a name, but not the files/Pages in it? Can that be true? Maybe in a future update?

This app is great, and I love it, but when I'm designing something that has a lot of intricate objects inserted the program seems overwhelmed, gets slow and literally just crashes without saving the last little bit of progress. I've tried to finish pasting the last 13 objects about 20 times and am finally so annoyed and lost faith it is going to work I'm probably going to get a Microsoft product, which makes me sick to even say. Pay way too much for this to keep crashing Adobe. Shame on you.
I love you but...

Brilliant Little App
by Kortskee on 2017/05/24 00:46
As a designer used to Adobe CC on desktop, I was skeptical about this app. But even with the first project in Comp, I found how useful it is. It is excellent for making sketches or wireframes, and allows you to export pdf's. Shapes, image and text frames, even guides are all here. Typekit support is an excellent addition, which really brings the sketches to life.
Reviews are correct
by GreenB15 on 2019/01/05 01:08
Amazing.
Only used it once. But.......
by furiku-sho on 2017/08/19 21:04
......I can see the power in this app for my design use. Having only used it once, I have a lot to learn. I really need to go through tutorials. I hope I can work with a calibrated grid so I can locate concentric circles and other objects by x, y axis. It is nice to export in vector format. Once I learn what I need to know I most likely will upgrade my rating.
Stellar App
by rawldy on 2017/09/09 15:38
This app uses easy gestures and controls to do what would normally be much more complicated in Illustrator. I'm considering an iPad Pro so that I can use this app much more. Hopefully, Adobe will consider treating this (and the other iOS apps) as a stand-alone workflow instead of merely an augmentation of the desktop apps. Really nice.
BYE!
Good but missing a critical feature
by Ellovee on 2017/05/23 05:07
Generally a good app, but that fact that you can't have more than one artboard in a project takes a potentially great UX tool and cuts it off at the knees. I read a forum response by an Adobe employee that said this feature was supposed to be added last summer. What happened?
A great image and text compositing app, with TypeKit features.
by Jayammon on 2020/01/25 18:42
I like being able to sit in any position while I create, and Adobe Comp allows me to do just that on my iPad. Adobe includes access to Creative Cloud custom shapes, for outlines, as well as TypeKit fonts, for fancy script. A great page design app in its simplicity.
Pretty Slick
by farmboymac on 2018/12/29 14:21
I’m a 20+ year pro user of Adobe (and its previous competitor’s) products and I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this app is great for quick projects like social media posts. If you have templates set up, you can create an image in just minutes, right in the app.

Great for mock-ups. I don’t think I won’t use another program. I am sold on Adobe Creative Cloud and would recommend to anyone. I do not write reviews for many products or programs. Take my word on this on. I have a degree in Communications. These programs are top shelf!
I Am Loving It

I can mock up a design really fast with this app. And unlike PS, I can copy the text and paste it into a design instruction document to make things easier for development. I’m just getting started with the suite of Adobe apps, so I don’t have much more to say just yet!
Love this
by Cesia5-yep on 2017/11/12 21:25
There was a bit of a learning curve with the gestures and selecting items, but it wasn’t too long. I love how this app reimagines how to make a layout intuitively with gestures instead of just making it a miniature version of a desktop page layout app.
Almost Perfect
by Hour11 on 2016/12/24 19:56
Only missing the ability to create multiple page documents and to divide a text box into columns. Until it gets these two features, I can't incorporate it into my work flow. Once they are added, it will become my most used app.
Adobe finally fixed the problem with InDesign

Comp works with InDesign again. I am very happy with the product now, after spending the last three years creating a highly illustrated book.

Seamless Integration
by Ctipton94 on 2017/04/13 14:07
I started using Adobe Comp with low expectations for its abilities. However, I have been highly impressed by how intuitive and functional Comp really is, the ability to seamlessly go between Comp and inDesign on my Mac has been invaluable for on-the-go productivity.

Overall it fits my needs, and I really love the creative flexibility it lends me in laying things out however I like.

cant export all screens in a project to pdf at once...must do each individual one. screen notes aren’t nativity supported and notes you put on the side of your screen are barely readable and are lost on pdf export. cant export project to adobexd. this is the fastest low fidelity wireframe/mockup tool on ipad with virtually zero learning curve but missing needed features that would enable user to finish project idea and export pdf in a manner that it could be emailed to designers with inline notes.

Best App

I’m a disabled veteran with spinal nerve damage and during school for my bachelors degree in graphic design I was unable to use a computer so I had to find a way to get through and still get my degree and this app has help me tremendously. There are a few things that I wish it were easier and available for this app.But it is a phenomenal application for what I need to be able to do
I am tired of having to re-login after each update
by astro.dave on 2019/04/09 06:34
...and I am so tired of having to swipe through new features before I can use the app to do anything with it. Get over yourselves... 😠 If you want to improve my rating, enable Touch ID on my iOS devices and don’t make me wait on startup.
Crashes when transferring to desktop
by Wild521 on 2019/03/30 21:14
Ever since this app crashes when trying to transfer to a adobe desktop app (inDesign, Ai, PS). This is being experienced by most users. Adobe has yet to address this isdue!
Won’t stop syncing and crashes when sending to indesign.

Concept is great, but app crashes and won’t complete the best reason for using. Would really like it to work though!

What am I doing wrong?
by snichols4 on 2019/03/10 12:32
Every time I select share to Id or Ai the app closes on me and I’m not finding the file in either location I tried sharing to. Is this a bug or am I missing a step?
Love it

Great App

by @nic_lynn_326718 on 2019/02/28 04:58
Was thrilled to see comp and was one of the most useful tools in mocking up designs before polishing in CC on a desktop.

What’s going on here?! App crashing!
by ellemero on 2019/02/22 01:11
I’ve used and loved this app for over a year now only to find it crashing on me today! I called customer service and against asked me “ what is Adobe Comp”? I’m a paid subscriber and use Comp to design and layout then to send to Photoshop CC to finalize. I have deadline and no one is able to help? I value all of adobe programs, but this is not good business.
great but Due for an update
by shadepill on 2019/02/16 06:53
This app is really easy to use and stable. Someday this might be the only app you will need for ui design on a iPad. Hope to at least be able to add border radius and box shadows to rectangles in the future!

Hey! Love the functionality this app gives from my iPad Pro. Works great. I just would LOVE an eyedropper tool to grab colors! Thanks!

I’m a 20+ year pro user of Adobe (and its previous competitor’s) products and I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this app is great for quick projects like social media posts. If you have templates set up, you can create an image in just minutes, right in the app.

by bluestreak426 on 2018/12/05 03:28
This App had a lot more potential, but for some reason it seems the creator just fizzled out half way through.

3 years later not much improvement
by Jonnybraz on 2018/06/30 07:00
A couple years back I was looking for an app to wireframe in quickly.
Love Love LOVE! ... (also some ideas)
by NTC Consulting on 2018/04/27 11:04
This app, along with so many of your other apps have not only made owning my small business a possibility, but provided a platform for my creative pursuits.
Love it!
by Boldizar on 2018/04/25 11:01
I love this app.

Great but

Just one more feature and this would be perfect.

by CBerry on 2020/02/19 19:11
Now that Photoshop and Illustrator for the iPad have advanced, please update this app to use with InDesign.
Love Love LOVE! ... (also some ideas)
by NTC Consulting on 2018/04/27 11:04
This app, along with so many of your other apps have not only made owning my small business a possibility, but provided a platform for my creative pursuits.
I like it.
I'm con fused by the simplicity of beauty
by Tri4Fatherz on 2017/01/02 09:44
After oh stop many over complicated and obviously over complicated programs, I've tested trying to find just one product that can influence my artistic mind workout irritating my ability to nurture my intent of my projects without being aggravated by my own mind screaming in the baffling distraught backgrounds echoing through my head about how much easier the platform could or should be.. Finally impressed!!
Tnx

Collecting fine shapes and colors that can be used in any cc apps walking along the street? This app inspires new way of working via smartphones. You can instantly capture aesthetic thing you encounter in daily life. If you are tired of searching images on the internet for all they long, this app can be an another choice. Go out, see the real thing and get it. Some quality is need to be improved so that I gave 4 stars.
major features missing
by ueeeeehty on 2019/08/26 11:10
cant export all screens in a project to pdf at once...must do each individual one. screen notes aren’t nativity supported and notes you put on the side of your screen are barely readable and are lost on pdf export. cant export project to adobexd. this is the fastest low fidelity wireframe/mockup tool on ipad with virtually zero learning curve but missing needed features that would enable user to finish project idea and export pdf in a manner that it could be emailed to designers with inline notes. So i’m stuck with using balsamiq wireframe on desktop....which is fine because everything is there, it’s just not as convenient as tablet.
A new way to create...
by GA 60 on 2019/06/08 16:57
I am your textbook quintessential old-school designer...Over 20 years using the Adobe programs dating back to 1999. So getting used to the streamlined abilities of the apps took some time. But now I am as devout a devotee as I have been to the rest of the Adobe creative cloud programs. Adobe Comp is now my go to program when I don’t want to drag out my laptop to create something quickly.
Love this app, however.
by Izikomnom on 2019/07/30 19:29
I love this app I use it all the time for work, basic projects, and designing quick logos. However I can’t seem to long into more than one device at a time. Please help. Now I can’t sign back into any device and I can not access any of my work. Every time o try to access through Facebook sign in, it states you previously have done this.
Im really missing one simple little detail
by Linda munkler on 2017/03/29 23:06
This app helps me greatly, working on the road. And then finish when I get back on the stationary IMAC in the office. My problem is that I often need the to give each file in a project a name, but just can't figure out how. Only a project can have a name, but not the files/Pages in it? Can that be true? Maybe in a future update?
Lacks some basic needs
by HBSteve on 2018/06/23 14:25
Update: Not sure which app the “App Store editors” were using because this definitely does not do “touch gestures” as they mentioned. Yes for basic mockup but no interaction. They smoking something? Need to import into xd or other apps to add other abilities. ——- Only used for a day and it’s interesting but first thing which is the most basic thing it lacks. Paste. I’m constantly needing files from other things, or text or icons. Need to simply be able to copy and paste into a mock. Soon as that’s added will be much more useful.
Crashes CONSTANTLY, Continually, over 50 objects
by fb.shp on 2017/04/18 04:04
This app is great, and I love it, but when I'm designing something that has a lot of intricate objects inserted the program seems overwhelmed, gets slow and literally just crashes without saving the last little bit of progress. I've tried to finish pasting the last 13 objects about 20 times and am finally so annoyed and lost faith it is going to work I'm probably going to get a Microsoft product, which makes me sick to even say. Pay way too much for this to keep crashing Adobe. Shame on you.
I love you but...
by @nic_lynn_326718 on 2019/02/28 04:58
Was thrilled to see comp and was one of the most useful tools in mocking up designs before polishing in CC on a desktop.
Reviews are correct
by GreenB15 on 2019/01/05 01:08
Great delivery
by Ladi_nNY on 2020/03/29 07:45
Great for mock-ups. I don’t think I won’t use another program. I am sold on Adobe Creative Cloud and would recommend to anyone. I do not write reviews for many products or programs. Take my word on this on. I have a degree in Communications. These programs are top shelf!
I Am Loving It
by Crystal the Mighty on 2020/06/11 14:52
I can mock up a design really fast with this app. And unlike PS, I can copy the text and paste it into a design instruction document to make things easier for development. I’m just getting started with the suite of Adobe apps, so I don’t have much more to say just yet!
Love this
by Cesia5-yep on 2017/11/12 21:25
There was a bit of a learning curve with the gestures and selecting items, but it wasn’t too long.
Adobe finally fixed the problem with InDesign
by DadooS55 on 2020/03/14 09:08
Comp works with InDesign again. I am very happy with the product now, after spending the last three years creating a highly illustrated book.
Answer to my overactive mind
by MelladoS91 on 2017/07/15 05:43
Sometimes I get ideas at the most random times and these apps allow me to put something together whenever I need to when I don't have access to my full desktop suite.
