by Astari1 on 2019/11/04 00:32
Great concept, unfortunately the app has trouble picking up certain notes (after tuning), and the lessons don’t proceed until after you’ve hit the correct notes
Love! Improved so fast! But...
by DuoOG on 2019/10/09 12:31
Absolutely love this app, I’m already having gigs and jamming with experienced artist! But... Is the app ever going to be optimized for bass as well as guitar? In addition to that, is there a way to start incorporate scales and soloing patterns? Thanks again Uberchord team!!
Good

A good application for training
Trash and a RIPOFF
by atx920 on 2019/08/06 18:38
Even if you PAY, this stupid app won’t allow you to take the lessons you want, if you don’t earn enough “picks” first. The developer will give some bs response about learning in order - but a paying customer should be able to access ANY lesson they choose. It’s not YOUR call on what I am “ Ready” to learn! Save your money and get a real teacher. UPDATE - even if you pay 89 bucks - it STILL wont give you access if you dont do it in order. This is outright fraud.

So I am using iPhone XS and Uberchord app has a problem recognizing G/D. Uberchord is hearing and correcting me on the other chords just fine but G/D is hanging it up and slowing me down on my progress.
Great for beginners who dont want to pay for experience
by xnova lover on 2019/07/07 18:54
I have not paid anything on this app as of right now and I went from a guy with no experience to a guy that can strum many a chord at a campfire. Daily warm ups are very useful!
broke my string
by hdbwjene on 2019/07/06 00:57
before i even started the app it was saying i needed to tune my guitar, so i did and the app was telling me to tighten it and my string popped. new guitar and i’m very disappointed in this app.
Good exercises!
by SheriWonka on 2019/06/02 19:59
I take lessons once a week, but this app has been a great supplement...I feel like I’m making better/faster gains since using it. A few snafus but overall a fun (& yet challenging) way to improve guitar skills!
They Guilted Me Into Writing This Review!
by EvenMoreAnnoyed123 on 2019/06/02 01:59
Never played guitar (or any instrument) as a kid but always wanted to. Bought a guitar in a pawn shop, researched learning apps after trying to use Garage Band, and here we are! Super-easy learning techniques, and it’s a lot of fun. Only have the free version, but it works great for me! Definitely recommend
Okay for beginners, super buggy
by guifstugr on 2019/05/31 08:11
Isn’t keeping track of time correctly, often says you strum when you haven’t/ haven’t strummed when you have. Pretty cool otherwise, good for learning chords, but the bugs can be very irritating
Great to learn guitar
by Hx5* on 2019/05/27 00:21
I don’t have time right now to find an instructor and go to a lesson so this is a great way to learn on my own. I enjoy the structure of the lessons and the ratings. The complaint I have is the warm ups pull in chords I don’t know at all and are too hard (the bar chords are really hard for me. I have pretty small hands). Otherwise love this app.
Awesome app but there’s a bug I noticed
by Kelvvo on 2019/05/23 02:47
This app is awesome to learn new chords and chord voicings but the keyboard when searching for chords is very buggy
It’s a fun app with loads of lessons.
by Jonathan Hines on 2019/05/13 13:20
I’m having an amazing time with Uberchord the best thing about it is the versatility, which allows you to chose pace and rhythm and so much more!

It’s free it’s easy and there’s no ads or membership you just need an account and I’m just beginning and it’s really easy to start. I just hope you don’t need to pay for a membership

Great idea for an app, but it picks up on its own beats destroying the learners accuracy
A revolution

One of the finest apps on the App Store. In any category. Pure genius. Buy it
Great, but not perfect.
by ThugNasty69x on 2019/04/25 04:07
100% new guitarist here; only been playing for two weeks & have used this app from the start everyday at least 20 minutes. I’ve learned well over 10 chords (far from perfect) & am gaining confidence quickly. The app isn’t super perfect though. I do feel lost sometimes before I start a new course but I do figure things out quickly, I don’t know if everyone else could. I think there should be more explanations in course lessons like there are in the Editor section so beginners can know why and not just how. Also, the rhythm trainings; you can just tap your foot & not even play the proper sound and it’ll register as correct. It would be great if there was a setting for those who want to challenge themselves and play the correct sounds along with the correct timing. Lastly, a picture or video of a hand switching fingerings for chords would be great for visual learners. I find it difficult but still rewarding to have to figure out the fastest/best way to switch chords while still consistently getting it right while still learning something new; I don’t know if other users would like to do all of that though. Even with those faults, I still did fork over my money for the subscription & I say it is well worth it. It’s hard for me to put down my guitar (but that finger pain) because it feels like good to work my way through the courses & I actually am learning a lot as I go. I’m definitely trying to finish everything perfectly before my year subscription is up so I hope they update it with more courses over time!!
Great app

Great
by @)*$# on 2019/04/09 14:15
Overall this app is amazing and very intuitive. The feedback system is cruelly correct in that you cannot progress until you’ve done the exercise correctly. Well done.

I enjoy this app very much it’s what I’ve been looking for mainly the chord section can communicate with other musicians when it comes to given them the chords to a song I’m working on. Great teaching app keep up the good work.

I am just starting to learn guitar taking lessons and need a structured practice system Tried the demo and decided to subscribe and am so impressed and glad I did I am using the cord from Rocksmith and so far it works on my iPad. You have to use the camera doggle to plug in to the iPad Eventually going to get a irig for the other features So far mostly all chords are recognized but occasionally it has me replay the chords maybe Operator Errors:) I did find that Re-Tune helped recognizing my chords Thanks Developers great program and appreciate your time
Pretty good
by Surakrick on 2019/03/15 17:40
It’s a good app for learning the basics and it makes you drill and drill until your basic skills become polished. I’m still st the beginning, but I will keep at it. I am already experienced at playing, but I always like to keep learning. As my parents once told me this joke, I think of this app: Tourist in Manhattan, New York: Pardon me, sir, if you could help me, how do I get to Carnegie Hall New York native: Practice, man, practice!

Picked up a guitar a week ago. Know a few chords now and can switch between them fairly well. Not 100% which is my goal before I move on to the next skill. Blaming it on my sore A.F. fingertips
Very pleased!
by cbeharris on 2019/02/26 23:53
I’ve played classical guitar (nylon strings) for years in the classic style (footstool, reading notes, etc), but never really learned how to strum, play chord patterns and develop right hand rhythm. I am happy to report that I am really encouraged by my progress through these exercises. I’ve learned maybe 10 chords now, played through a few songs on the app and have greatly improved my right hand function, not to mention my confidence! These skills are a wonderful and welcome addition to my guitar experience!
great app...

Great app to start learning the guitar
by tyler/Ent on 2019/02/19 01:47
So far, it has been great experience. One has to go to songs and learn the other hidden course it has which helps you solidify what you learnt in the course. The start up warm up can be hard as you go along and discouraging. Songs are ok. It just teaches you rhythm. No lead stuff here. No theory either. It just helps you with the technique, somewhat, as you got to learn how to strum and use chords on your own. Tons of areas of improvement.
So Far So Good
by Ma banana on 2019/02/15 21:15

Love. Love. Love.

This app has helped me come so far and learn so much! Literally the best thing ever for learning guitar!
Horrible app!
by Entinc on 2019/01/25 16:46
Guitar tuner doesn’t even work. Lessons have no explanation whatsoever, and not even some hints as to what you’re meant to do! Deleted and went back to Yousician app which I ended up purchasing. That app tuner actually works, I used it to tune my guitar and give this app another chance.......fail!
Went tooooo fast!!!
by Coco1Loco5 on 2019/01/21 20:47
This is not a good app if you are a beginner. It wasn’t at all like another app I use which they should make more of!

Just learning to play and this was a big help for chord changes
Definitely recommend.
by Buckeyezrule18 on 2019/01/07 02:27
This app actually motivates me to practice everyday. I feel like it starts you off with a good foundation and builds from there. I’m already feeling comfortable. I feel like this app will actually allow me to stick with it and learn guitar.
Do NOT get yousician! DO get Uberchord.
by Dawgrit on 2019/01/04 16:04
They are very similar but Yousician will charge you for a full year if you don’t cancel the free trial. I feel that is shady as it gets, only the worst scam companies do that to people. They seem fraudulent. After my year subscription charge, I figured I’d make the best of it but then they terminated the feature for users to submit their own songs. They also removed the majority of their premium songs to an even more premium subscription. Do not support them. You can get a similar style of learning with Uberchord. They have a better price. And my experience with costumer service has been exceptional. They actually communicate with you like s person and not a money grabbing robot that says , too bad.
Complete trash
by G._.U._.S on 2018/12/31 05:32
I had really high hopes for this app, and they were completely shut down. Once it started making me tune it, it didnt work at all. It almost made my break a string because i was tightening it so much. Once i tuned it (using a different app) I went back and it finally started working. Then during the first lesson it wasnt hearing my chords correctly at all. It kept telling me i was pushing frets where i wasnt. I know for a fact i wasnt doing it wrong. Every time i strummed it told me to stop pushing the wrong frets even though i wasnt pushing them. They were also different every time?? How can the same sound mean im pressing different frets? I might try again later, but as of now it was awful.
Great if you need a structure for practicing
by One eyed fishermen on 2018/12/30 19:52
I downloaded this app thinking it would better add to my structure in practicing and so far I have to say it does great.
I love it.
by NickE6 on 2018/12/30 19:18

Great

It really teaches you with the best technology possible.
It’s GREAT
by gutair lover on 2018/12/28 05:38
I love this app because it takes you step-by-step to learn a song and get you lessons down. I also love the lessons to learn any song you want I’m not a big fan of the premium thing was songs but it does help you and your self get to learn more things about the gutair. This app is also good because it has different apps and serve it like the tuner and different types of songs I think I just have a little bit of technical problems coming to different songs but besides that this app is amazing.

Been trying for 15years
by lovesfool89074 on 2018/12/19 14:20
I have been trying to play guitar for 15 years with ZERO success.... this app makes it feel like a game I am trying to win. In less than a week, I am switching chords and playing like I have been doing it for months.... I love that there is a reminder to remind you to practice, all it takes is 10 mins a day. I am in love with this app

by sokennethwasall on 2018/11/18 08:43
Been using the app for a total of about 5 months, and can confidently say that I am a better guitar player than some of my friends that have played for years. When I play in front of people, they usually ask me how I learned so quickly and I show them this app.
Great app!

VERY UPSET

This app is great, you won’t regret using this
by Pat & Elizabeth on 2018/09/22 03:41
What a great way for beginners to learn how to play the guitar. This app provides structure and feedback to practice sessions for those of us who haven’t the time or money to take formal lessons with a teacher.
Elementary intro is free
by jpinnh on 2018/09/16 22:22
And compulsory I think. I couldn’t find a way to bypass it and find something I might want to learn, e.g. strumming patterns.
Disappointed
by Woogs276 on 2018/09/03 23:14
Seems like it could be good, except that the strum recognition is wildly inaccurate, thus forcing lessons to be triple the waste of time. Canceled my subscription before the end of the trial.

by JAStudios on 2018/08/21 00:35
This the best teaching app I have found so far. It very intuitive.
Like having a real-world teacher. A terrible real-world teacher.
by Chearth on 2018/08/09 17:56
Put simply: this is one of the most aggravating, annoying apps I’ve ever used. It doesn’t really you what you did wrong, and it wastes your time. Instead of taking the time to fix your mistakes during many of the “progress-bar” based lessons, it just takes progress away and screws you over, as a post to taking the time to help you play the freaking chord. It feels as though they were giving out they’re app for free, so they saved their own time, by having these problems. But you know what? It’s one of the only free guitar teaching apps that’s even the slightest bit good, so, many people come crawling back to this, and guess what! I probably will too, and get ticked off all over again. Pay for Yousician or something, unless you like this then good for you! You probably knew guitar previous, unlike Me, who thought this highly regarded app could teach how to play with causing so much annoyance. Try it, if you feel so inclined, but I don’t recommend it.
Fantastic
by Flyfish72 on 2018/08/07 15:58
I’d been using another learn-to-play-guitar app for a while, but became increasingly frustrated with its hit-or-miss feedback system. Uberchord’s feedback system, by contrast, is extremely accurate, and their overall system (using real songs - instead of silly toy songs - as the basis for learning chords and rhythm) provides excellent motivation and makes me want to play more and better. I experienced a small problem with the app and used the in-app feedback to submit a bug report, and they fixed it within 24 hours, without requiring a new download. That kind of turnaround means the app is well-designed and that the developers are proud of their work. As they should be.
BEST THING EVER!!!!!
by L0KEMAN on 2018/08/07 04:04
PLEASE consider making a Ukulele version now! Now that that is out of the way, this app is great. It actually works. It didn’t seem to work very well using the speaker but is flawless using my irig. The developers actually listen and update the app regularly. I just REALLY wish they added ukulele support!
It’s great! Can use some added features (maybe I’m just dumb, though.)
by Noble_1 on 2018/07/11 19:55
So I very much enjoy the app, I have been using it for only two days, but it keeps me motivated and pushes me to keep trying to learn something despite tender fingertips. I plan on purchasing a subscription for the app, but I wish it had two added features. 1. A legend somewhere in the app where you can acess the meanings of different symbols, I know the downstroke “U” sorta thing, but there’s a “V” symbol that I don’t know. I am sure that there’s various other symbols I will encounter and not understand. Keep in mind I am a new guitar player. 2. A sort of icon that you could press that goes over the instructions of the selected lesson. Other types of programs (not guitar related) have a sort of “i” up in the top corner or so, often ecliped in a circle. Having the aid of a refreshed instructions guide would be immensely helpful. There’s a certain lesson where I don’t know if I should keep strumming or not, and if I had that I would understand, or if I simply had better brain cells... Thank you, if you all read this and find any helpfulness from my review. I am sure to find some more great things about this app.

Nice interface but poor performance
by Jufumufu on 2018/06/12 01:49
I really really want to like this product. The interface is beautiful and the mechanics are very nice and intuitive, optimized to be used in the small iPhone screen. However, the note recognition system appears to be lacking... I registered for the 7 day trial and was considering continuing to use the app later on but decided to cancel my subscription because of this. Often the app does not recognize the chord (believe me, I know it was impecable) and causes you to continue in the same level for ages... making the experience frustrating rather than fun. A side note is that this app should really have a proper iPad port... The app definitely has potential but feels incomplete. Specially given the price they ask for it. It is more expensive than Yousician which is a far more mature app. I look forward to try this app again in the future. I’m sure it will be among the best
Disappointing
by allnicknamesaretakenhfogogkvk on 2018/06/07 18:35
I had high expectations but the app does not even hear my guitar correctly. I can play a chord correct and it will make me play it over and over again cause it thinks it’s wrong. Or it will tell me to stop playing a note on one string when I’m not even touching that string. The exercises are lame and it is not applicable to real songs. Maybe if you get further up you will start to learn more but there are better apps out there than this.
No Better Than This
by Carlhose on 2018/05/25 19:31
Forget other chord dictionaries. This is the ultimate. Also, instantly know what chords you are playing regardless of what fingering you do. Great for songwriters. Helps you to stop relying on the same old chords. Lots of great guitar lessons too. This is a new kind of app. It is useful, not just another guitar app. Not another like it.
First way I’ve found to actually learn
by Mrdarkler on 2018/05/20 15:39
I’ve been trying to learn guitar since I was ten. About once or twice a year I would drag out my old guitars, set goals, find someone or something to teach me, and then end up shoving them all back into the attic again. I’ve had professional lessons, family and friends, books, dvds, YouTube channels, and sixteen years later I still don’t know how to play. But I think I may have struck gold with Uberchord. The lessons themselves are very easy to follow. There’s a plethora of information, all of it easy to learn and easy to access. The app tailors my lessons to fit with my abilities, raising and lowering tempos in training sessions to match my skill set. The songs are broken down into smaller categories that let you build each piece of the puzzle, before putting it all together. While this may be the best way to learn that I’ve found so far, I do have some negatives. The first, is that the daily workouts aren’t tailored around where I am in the lesson. They do seem to be tailored around my skillset, but when the lesson tree has me working on certain chords to master for the song I’m working on, it seems counterintuitive for the daily workout to throw four or five new chords at me and I can’t focus on what I was supposed to be practicing between my sessions. I’ve also found that several times, the lessons have frustrated me and I’ve had to walk away for the day and try again the next. This is entirely due to the apps note recognition. E minor for example. This is one of the first chords you learn, and the app will reiterate this through out the early training sessions. I had the chords correct. I double checked against the tap provided. I checked on google to see if there was some mistake. I listened to YouTube videos to see if I was playing it right. It was absolutely right. But I was continuously restarting the course, as it wouldn’t recognize I had strummed the correct chord. Overall, I think if I can stay motivated this will be the best way for me to learn. Cheaper than a guitar lesson, and much more effective overall. I The app makes me feel like I’m making progress, and overall I’m having fun.
Will charge you even if you cancel
by JamesPratt on 2018/04/13 16:19
I tried Uberchord and didn’t really care for it. After 15 days I canceled the subscription. Supposed to get 30 days free. I STILL got charged the $14.99 even though I tried it for way less than 30 days. Not a very honest company if they give you a 30 day free trial, you cancel within that window, and then they still charge. I don’t recommend this product at all.
Horrible Tuner
by Anon18048 on 2018/04/08 23:08
I kept trying to use it to tune my guitar and eventually one of my strings popped.
Good stuff!
by Otakukhan on 2018/04/06 20:38
0 previous experience, just finished 2nd lesson, so far so good! Had trouble tuning at first, but using a 40+ year old guitar, so that might be the problem. Have had a couple other technical issues with it, but again, could be guitar. Very happy so far

The most advanced technology ever
by stardesign8 on 2018/04/05 22:31
This app has the most advanced technology on guitar ever. Very intuitive and learns your weak points and leads you to the easiest and quickest way to learn. Also very fun to practice since it has great drums jam tracks etc. You will never get bored practicing and like to play more. I highly recommend it. I am 61 years old and has no affiliation with the developers. This is an honest review .
Lots of audio recognition issues
by je5988 on 2018/04/03 00:42
You can only get so far before the app will stop recognizing the notes/chords you play. Support is unhelpful; they’ll just suggest you try using another guitar or another phone, so if you don’t have access to either, you’re out of luck.
Lost legacy paths(FIXED)
by Musicman494 on 2018/03/14 01:49
I’ve had uberchord since the very first updates and was a very faithful user for quite some time. Although I had stopped before the new subscription plan had come out I was still happy to know that uberchord would let me use the old legacy paths and that I could return to finish them if I wanted. However after going on the app recently, I was very disappointed to see that these legacy paths had been removed from the app completely. I would sincerely appreciate it if I could get access to these paths again and would continue my use of uberchord if that happened Edit: I don’t know what happened but after logging into the app again after three days the old legacy courses were back. Thanks uberchord very much for creating such a quality app for guitar!

I just started learning acoustic guitar and in about a week and half I have learned about 7 chords and can play slowly. I like the fact it corrects you if you strum incorrectly and makes you do it again. I went ahead and paid for the monthly plan as it teaches you more chords. It has a built in tuner and assists you in tuning your guitar. It also has songs you can play to as well. It grades your performance and tells you how well you have progressed. Overall I am pleased. I still will reinforce lessons with an instructor.
A great tool

Horrible Cust. Service, Lazy and Greedy Developers
by Rater2731 on 2018/01/13 18:22
When this app first came out, I was very excited about it's capabilities and potential and I also liked the user interface. As a left handed guitar player, after downloading it around 2 YEARS AGO, I had asked them when the lefty option will be available. They replied to me saying that the app is fairly new and I should expect it to arrive in 3 to 6 months. Even that felt quite long back then, yet they still have NOT implemented the lefty support after years!!! On another note, they must have decided that being lazy and lying to customers is NOT enough. They also felt the need to add a greedy subscription system since their popularity has grown and now they can gouge some money out of the original dedicated users that downloaded the app back in early days. I understand the songs requiring a purchase, but did you really have to add an expensive subscription when users already had to collect points to advance? Could you not have an ad supported version that includes a basic point based training material? In all honesty, apps like this one are the ugly examples of what is wrong with businesses that grow to not care about their customers. Instead of adding a crucial feature like the lefty mode, you are also shameless enough to remove existing free services! Feeling bad for recommending this app to numerous friends back in the day, at least they are right handed like most people are so they are not facing the ugly discrimination that I do!

Very nice, but wish it was for Native iPad
by Deadeye-Frey on 2017/12/08 00:43
This is a very good app. It is very good at sensing what you are playing and getting the accuracy right, almost too accurate at times! :) I love the app and only wish it was developed to leverage the IPad screen real estate. Using it on my IPad would be much more enjoyable if that were the case, but overall, it's good and my fingers are still getting sore! Update: This app is amazing for the iPhone and worth every penny. I initially had a lower rating due to the lack of support for the iPad screen real-estate, but they advertise its iPhone only so I upgraded my review! Great application!
Can't Detect Correct Notes
by SeekerJones on 2017/12/07 22:54
I wouldn't pay to upgrade until the app can correctly detect notes. For the past 2 months I've tried using the app - it just sits there telling me to play a G - while I'm playing a G - nothing ever happens - just sits there. The tuner part of the app works but not the teaching part. Doesn't matter if I'm using an Acoustic or Electric the app just sits there. Have no problems with Yousician or Fender. All of my third party tuners detect just fine. So clearly Uberchord is the problem.

Fantastic
by Flyfish72 on 2018/08/07 15:58
I’d been using another learn-to-play-guitar app for a while, but became increasingly frustrated with its hit-or-miss feedback system.

Pestered into it
by beanRacer on 2017/09/18 10:43
First off, congratulations UC, you have gotten me to write this review. Each day the splash screen interrupting my lesson begging for reviews has annoyed me enough to hope that doing this will make it stop. (If it doesn't, I will cancel my subscription.) So, with that said. I think this is a pretty good app and the paid content is worthwhile. I haven't played guitar for 15 years and within a few weeks I have learned and play chords that I never thought possible even when I was at my most capable before. The note recognition is good (using an electric with connector), though I feel the lessons are too generous sometimes when I don't play a note correctly. This compounds on the strumming lessons where it gives you specific chords to play, but as long as you play anything at all you will pass. The warmup and practice sessions pull out material that is way more complicated than what the lessons I'm going through are offering. Occasionally, it's more difficult than I can play at the moment so I can't complete the exercise - which for a warm up is a pretty bad start to your practice time. However, I am pleased with the app and lessons, even taking account the quirks.

First Day!

My first practice today I practiced for 25 minutes and I am totally amazed, I just love the opportunity to try something I have never done before. I'm looking forward to learning the guitar, it's only taken me 50 plus years to finally commit... thanks Uberchord! Can't wait for my next lesson, played until my fingers could take no more.
Best free guitar app I have found!🎸
by NightingaleBaby on 2017/09/07 04:34
This guitar app has by far offered the best training exercises and feedback while learning to play. I have really been able to advance quickly with its user friendly exercises and free instruction in part. I wish there was more free exercises, but it is definitely better than others out there. Easy to learn with and love that it gives you feedback! Well done, Uberchord!🥇

Fantastic app for someone like me with a strong classical music background who is new to guitar. Getting my brain and hand to have an intelligent conversation with 6-strings instead of 4 always made me feel like I'd had a stroke until I discovered Uberchord. So soooo appreciate the deliberate and purposeful drills. I'm becoming more skillful every day. It's fun, rewarding and intelligent instruction!
Otherwise love this app.

by sokennethwasall on 2018/11/18 08:43
Been using the app for a total of about 5 months, and can confidently say that I am a better guitar player than some of my friends that have played for years. When I play in front of people, they usually ask me how I learned so quickly and I show them this app.
Not another like it.

by Surakrick on 2019/03/15 17:40
It’s a good app for learning the basics and it makes you drill and drill until your basic skills become polished. I’m still st the beginning, but I will keep at it. I am already experienced at playing, but I always like to keep learning. As my parents once told me this joke, I think of this app: Tourist in Manhattan, New York: Pardon me, sir, if you could help me, how do I get to Carnegie Hall New York native: Practice, man, practice!

by allnicknamesaretakenhfogogkvk on 2018/06/07 18:35
I had high expectations but the app does not even hear my guitar correctly.

PLEASE consider making a Ukulele version now! Now that that is out of the way, this app is great. It actually works. It didn’t seem to work very well using the speaker but is flawless using my irig. The developers actually listen and update the app regularly. I just REALLY wish they added ukulele support!

It's definitely challenging me and my pacing. I've only used it for a little while and it's already pushed me to play without looking at the guitar. I've already had much more success with it and remembering fingering than I've ever had in the last few years of having my guitar.

I might try again later, but as of now it was awful.

by Masufa on 2019/03/29 04:31
I enjoy this app very much it’s what I’ve been looking for mainly the chord section can communicate with other musicians when it comes to given them the chords to a song I’m working on. Great teaching app keep up the good work.
Amazing 😉
by Kids Facebook on 2017/09/07 19:32
Awesome I have tried other apps and this one is the best I have tried. This is the only one that tells me where my fingers go and what the note is called.😊😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

A ton of help
by Brendan krake on 2017/09/10 00:51
I just started to learn playing guitar and this app helps you learn some basic chords at a decent pace, it's really helping me become the musician I would love to someday fully be! Thank you developers
Lots of audio recognition issues
by je5988 on 2018/04/03 00:42
You can only get so far before the app will stop recognizing the notes/chords you play. Support is unhelpful; they’ll just suggest you try using another guitar or another phone, so if you don’t have access to either, you’re out of luck.

by Astari1 on 2019/11/04 00:32
Great concept, unfortunately the app has trouble picking up certain notes (after tuning), and the lessons don’t proceed until after you’ve hit the correct notes

Good exercises!

I take lessons once a week, but this app has been a great supplement...I feel like I’m making better/faster gains since using it. A few snafus but overall a fun (& yet challenging) way to improve guitar skills!

Great app

I love it.

It’s GREAT
by gutair lover on 2018/12/28 05:38
I love this app because it takes you step-by-step to learn a song and get you lessons down.

Horrible Tuner

by Otakukhan on 2018/04/06 20:38
0 previous experience, just finished 2nd lesson, so far so good!

Lefty?

Wow it's bad
by KalordXD on 2017/12/29 03:19
I've been learning guitar for a while and their are some chords I needed to learn. So I choose this app, at first I was kinda excited about but then that turned to disappointment. The main problem is that the app wouldn't pick up my sound it just says I'm playing it wrong. I've tuned my guitar 4 times, I've used amps on many settings, and also I've used different guitars like electric, acoustic, and hallow body. But it didn't work.
Amazing formula

Fantastic
by Flyfish72 on 2018/08/07 15:58
I’d been using another learn-to-play-guitar app for a while, but became increasingly frustrated with its hit-or-miss feedback system.

I have been trying to play guitar for 15 years with ZERO success.... this app makes it feel like a game I am trying to win. I am in love with this app

I'm looking forward to learning the guitar, it's only taken me 50 plus years to finally commit... thanks Uberchord! Can't wait for my next lesson, played until my fingers could take no more.
Best free guitar app I have found!🎸

Great to learn guitar

I don’t have time right now to find an instructor and go to a lesson so this is a great way to learn on my own. I enjoy the structure of the lessons and the ratings. The complaint I have is the warm ups pull in chords I don’t know at all and are too hard (the bar chords are really hard for me. I have pretty small hands). Otherwise love this app.

This is outright fraud.

by xnova lover on 2019/07/07 18:54
I have not paid anything on this app as of right now and I went from a guy with no experience to a guy that can strum many a chord at a campfire. Daily warm ups are very useful!
Great

Overall this app is amazing and very intuitive. The feedback system is cruelly correct in that you cannot progress until you’ve done the exercise correctly. Well done.
Good exercises!

I take lessons once a week, but this app has been a great supplement...I feel like I’m making better/faster gains since using it. A few snafus but overall a fun (& yet challenging) way to improve guitar skills!
Good stuff!

0 previous experience, just finished 2nd lesson, so far so good! Had trouble tuning at first, but using a 40+ year old guitar, so that might be the problem. Have had a couple other technical issues with it, but again, could be guitar. Very happy so far

This app is great, you won’t regret using this

What a great way for beginners to learn how to play the guitar. This app provides structure and feedback to practice sessions for those of us who haven’t the time or money to take formal lessons with a teacher.
The only one that is working for me

This is an amazing app! I love it, it's so easy to use! It's the only guitar app that I have come across that actually works for me. If you are looking for a good app to start, this one is the one to get!
Wow it's bad

I've been learning guitar for a while and their are some chords I needed to learn. So I choose this app, at first I was kinda excited about but then that turned to disappointment. The main problem is that the app wouldn't pick up my sound it just says I'm playing it wrong. I've tuned my guitar 4 times, I've used amps on many settings, and also I've used different guitars like electric, acoustic, and hallow body. But it didn't work.
Complete trash

I’ve been getting in so much more practice. Very cool and fun app. The way the app shows how you are making a mistake is great. It can tell which sting/s your fingering is off. Pretty amazing!
Great App

I enjoy this app very much it’s what I’ve been looking for mainly the chord section can communicate with other musicians when it comes to given them the chords to a song I’m working on. Great teaching app keep up the good work.
Amazing 😉

Awesome I have tried other apps and this one is the best I have tried. This is the only one that tells me where my fingers go and what the note is called.😊😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
So Far So Good

Only been at it for a short time but I feel like I’m learning, my fingers are killing me, but I believe that is a rite of passage I’m happy I purchased this app I think it will be helpful
Keeps me interested

Picked up a guitar a week ago. Know a few chords now and can switch between them fairly well. Not 100% which is my goal before I move on to the next skill. Blaming it on my sore A.F. fingertips
A ton of help

I just started to learn playing guitar and this app helps you learn some basic chords at a decent pace, it's really helping me become the musician I would love to someday fully be! Thank you developers
