Can’t listen to it
by Originaltoothgenius on 2019/10/15 20:08
I love it on the iPad, but can’t use it on my iPhone XR since I plug my iRig into the connector and it won’t work with Bluetooth. So I’m stuck with the iPad. Or the competition... Yes, my iRig has a lightning connector. That’s the only way to connect to the iPhone! Unfortunately, there’s no way to connect earbuds, or an output to an amp. So I’m stranded.
Ios13??
by Behobo on 2019/10/12 21:40
When will you update your awesome app to work with ios13?
Love the app.
by MN.Mike on 2019/10/02 21:59
How soon will Bias work with OS 13? Chomping at the bit. Thank you for the response. So you Positive Grid says I can upgrade to OS 13 with out damage to to all of my Bias apps. Apple is not telling me this. Just being safe I don’t want to screw up any thing. Thanks

Wonderful effects,,,,
Just whaooo!!!!!!!
by zaptone on 2019/09/21 12:55
I buy the ultimate pack in a special offer just amazing! I just spend one day on presents comparing them with my pedal board, and the sound and tones are incredible, the tone cloud is one of the greatest crazy idea, I download a lot combination. You can even modify and create your own amp combo and also they have other software to build your own pedal that is included. Crazy!!! I am using for interface, the TC go guitar the basic model and it work beautifully. in the beginning I have some noice issues when activating drive pedal, just go to the amp setup they have for modes and with a little tweak on the global setting walla! Very stable there will be some combination that will required more than two gates to kill the noice but this application worth any single penny. I want to play live with them but I want to really match what I have in pedal board. I forget the acoustic simulation I just ridiculous good. I am super impressed with this software and I pay for it was ridiculous compared with all the features.

app support is sloooow, IAA inside app is not working
by trancemuter on 2019/08/14 21:06
update: the IAA is not working inside the app on both my iphone and ipad. when i use try to use it a dialog pops up saying that the app has to be switched to stereo mode even though it is already in stereo mode, then it goes into a loop with the dialog constantly popping up, the only way to get out of it us quiting the app. finally they answered my support request after like a week, told me to reinstall the app, I did, same problem. I sent my findings back to them to help them resolve the bug and silence for days already... the support webpage is buggy too, impossible to check on the support ticket on iOS because has a cookie bug that doesn't let you log on. what the hell is wrong with their customer support system? understaffed? backend problems? on purpose? it truly is frustrating and disappointing! I feel a little disrespected and ignored. such a shame because the app sounds pretty good... I really want it to work... ........ I’ve been trying to reach them about a bug in the IAA inside app, no answer at all for days already.
Bias sounds amazing
by guitar 53 on 2019/08/05 02:53
Bias effects is really incredible . I am using this over my other rig most of the time. It’ sounds amazing and it is so easy to use.
Amazing
by Aidan YO MOM on 2019/06/15 13:42
I’ve played guitar for over 30 years but with 3 kids I’ve been really out of the loop for the last 15. I recently got back into it when one of my kids wanted to learn. So I was still living in the era of stomp box chains and rack mount effects. I just happened on Bias FX by accident and WOW . . . I’m I glad that I did. It’s amazingly powerful and customizable while at the same time, extremely easy to use. With all of the presets, even a complete beginner can dial up an amazing tone. This one little app replaced thousands of dollars of effects. I think I’ll put all of my old gear on eBay before the rest of the world discovers this amazing tool.
BiasFx 1
by joeaxe1776 on 2019/05/13 19:31
This is great, I use it daily, BUT with no upgrade path for us who helped pay to build 2, I doubt I get it.
Consider me confused
by 1222CH on 2019/05/03 10:01
I had used the app a bit before with no issues but primarily use it on pc, however after returning to the app all my expansions I own are gone no matter how much I try restoring them. Only further confusing me more is the tone cloud presets I had saved that I used before are now locked because bias seems to think I magically don’t own them anymore :)
Lol you need a license

The Best Amp Interface App I’ve used except…
by TheRightWingLiberal on 2019/04/17 18:45
I love this app, I’ve compared it to Amplitube and ToneBridge and this one works way better than both, it doesn’t give me deafening feedback on heavily distorted tones and has better sounding effects. My only beef with this app though is that the tuner is super off. I’m have my guitar in standard and it shows the E as D. I even used Fender Tune to check if my guitar wasn’t just super down-tuned, and Fender Tune is awesome. I love this app but please fix the tuner. Update: I m getting annoyed after 2 updates after my first review the tuner still isn’t fixed, hurry with fixing it!!!
Just plain noisy
by PTH02 on 2019/04/16 20:25
Beyond frustrated. The amps sound great but there’s so much noise in the signal. Everything from clicks, screeching sounds and feedback. Using an iPhone XS Max with an iRig HD2 and no amount of adjustments makes any difference. In addition the poly octaver NEVER works. Then there’s the list of random bugs such as amp icons disappear but are still operational. Paid to have everything and currently the app is unusable. Tonebridge and AmpliTube work without issue. Really want this to be stable because when firing on all cylinders BiasFx is an untouchable beast but right now there’s no way I’d trust this not to take a dump.
Money Grab
by hansolo625 on 2019/04/13 07:24
So... screw us who have spent money on JamUp packages and Bias Amp2 right? I’m assuming this is Positive Grids competition to Amplitube by IK Multimedia. I can admit, while IK Multi makes great hardware like iRig and iRig Micro Amp; in terms of software, Positive Grid is a step ahead. It honestly works even better than IKs own software when it’s plugged into IKs hardware. I am ecstatic to see this, it’s pretty much like Jam Up, but now more focused. But... I have re-buy everything? SCREW THAT. It doesn’t even link to Bias Amp 2 that I have already purchased! Jam Up works just fine for now and I’ll stick to that since I’ve already spent enough money on expanding on it. Honestly, I was just about to buy even more effects/amps for it, but now seeing this. I’m VERY hesitant. With this new thing out we can best bet that they’ll slowly phase out Jam Up and eventually stop supporting it. Which means people who have spent lots of money on all the packages, amp models and effects and etc can all screw themselves. This is just another money grab move by another corporation. If not then prove me wrong Positive Grid.
Pls update for ipad pro 11
by zhangyang_haha on 2019/04/09 16:27
Will change it back to 5stars when it supports the resolution of ipad pro 11. Really great app.
Best amp sim for iOS
by DesolateNation on 2019/04/08 23:13
I’m blown away by this amp sim. I’ve used most of them. Most recently AmpKitPlus. But, after using this, I’ll never go back. As they turned there back on it a long time ago. Didn’t know till it was too late. But, Luckily, the Peavey Link 2 works great with Bias Fx. I’ve essentially turned my iPhone 8 into an Axe fx unit. I unlocked the full version for $30. How can you go wrong? Lovin’ it!!
My go-to studio rig
by Jerkyfro on 2019/04/05 14:23
Just takes a little time to tweak in the right tones, and you can replicate any amp, stompbox, cabinet, speaker IR, or processor on the planet. Highly recommend in conjunction with Bias Amp2. Invest in ALL the plug-in bundles. Loads of fun. Sounds great on the iPhone, in a hotel room with headphones; but I mainly use it on my iPad for studio sessions. This isn’t a toy; this is professional-level gear. Take your time, get to know it, and you’ll be amazed at the tonal possibilities!
Ultimate License
by BakoBoy97 on 2019/04/02 04:32
It’s good so far, but I bought the Ultimate License on my iPad, thinking it would unlock absolutely everything, since the blurb said that’s what it does, and it hasn’t. I don’t know if I’m just an idiot or not, but I can’t access some of the amps and I’d really like to. If you guys can fix that, definitely giving it a 5/5.
Most confusing company
by Mrbrentbt on 2019/03/31 04:39
Ok, I have Jamup Pro, bias amp 2 both with amps and FX, both that have so many hiccups I just had to stop using it, so what is this app for?
Best Effect Chain Simulator... When It Works
by Zach@Whisperwind on 2019/03/21 14:03
Background: I use this app heavily and own every in-app purchase. The current version freezes but does not crash when I hook up my audio interface through the iPhone camera adaptor.
Restore?
by deadstil66 on 2019/02/07 06:13
I can not restore an expansion pack, and it is one I use often, been using these products for some years now, maybe one has to repurchase after so many years of use?!
Yay
by Camilleyumm on 2019/02/05 00:34
Awesome app and all, but I keep getting these high pitched feedback noise I paid the $29.99 for ultimate license, but the amp arsenal pack wasn’t downloaded with it. It said it would download all of the packs, but it didn’t.
I turn on my iPad....
by Nnonymos on 2019/02/02 09:45
and I see that my microphone is on. Mind you I haven’t turn on this particular app yet. Not cool! Also there is something wrong with your restore purchase feature. I have update the app several times but it seems that you don’t even know that there’s a problem. So that is the only reason that am typing this in your review. Please, fix it.
Love the app but crashes
by Mr.Napkins on 2019/01/23 21:39
So I love the bias amp 2 and bias fx app for iPhone but whenever I am importing audio from bias amp 2 into bias fx I can play for like 2-7 min before there is a loud buzzing noise like the app crashed and then I have to do everything all over again... I am using the iPhone SE please fix the issue thank you
Doesn’t work with iPhone X
by bearfan1973 on 2019/01/15 02:44
I have an iPhone X, an Apogee Jam interface, and Bose QuietComfort Bluetooth headphones. Hearing the guitar thru the headphones does NOT work. Whats the point if I cannot hear it thru headphones, and the iPhone X does NOT have an external headphone jack!! Bias support won’t (or can’t) tell me how to fix this so I can only assume that Bias can only be used on old iPhones that have physical headphone jacks, and that corded headphones must be used.
Best modeling amp and effects
by Rik Rollins on 2018/12/29 00:19
Love love love this app... Great sound and easy to use..Time to sell a bunch of gear I no longer need thanks to Bias FX.
It pains me to do this..
by Sandman96 on 2018/12/20 03:44
I love this app so much. Please PLEASE remove the notice blocking presets that have unpurchased components. It’s making presets inaccessible , and it’s plain ANNOYING. Please... it wasn’t there a couple of iterations ago...
Tuner stops audio processing
by iOS is bad OS on 2018/12/08 16:23
Tuner disables effects and metronome. In AmpliTube you can have tuner on screen, while everything else works as usual.
Tuner is not set in 440hz as it says
by 666dimon on 2018/11/30 21:36
After buying some pedals l am rally pleased with the sound. The tuner is not working as it should. I am still using the amazing insTuner app.
Can’t download...
by ChaiVat on 2018/11/25 04:34
I can’t download the update (restore purchase) so, consequently the stuff I bought (pedals) aren’t in my setups.
Can’t load my expansions (EDIT)
by Gemastor on 2018/11/19 23:18
On bias fx for iPad, there was a way to sync your purchases from jamup to bias. Not seeing that here. If somebody could help me with that then I’ll improve my rating. UPDATE: I GOT MY CRAP BACK IM SO HAPPY THANK YOU found out you had to go through jamup. Don’t know if that’s new or if i remembered it wrong, but I’m one happy dude. Go Positive Grid!
thanks for fixing!
by Logan_Addis on 2018/11/12 18:23
Thanks for fixing the need to purchase packs to be able to use a tone! Love the app
Genial❤️
by Ivánin on 2018/11/10 16:03
la mejor, pero tengo un bug donde no puedo "previsualizar" presets de tonecloud para escucharlos antes de descargar o simplemente oirlos.
Amazing
by Gurudon on 2018/11/08 17:54
Bias FX is amazing! It is worlds ahead of any competition! This is a must have for any guitarist. Thank you Positive Grid for this gift from guitar god heaven!!!!
Doesn’t recognize any JamUp purchases
by ProTonePedals on 2018/11/01 13:24
I can’t believe that NOTHING purchased in JamUp ports over to this app. I have to imagine this sounds good- after all *I DESIGNED* the Merrow Overdrive but I have to buy it AGAIN?!? With so little available for free (totally understandable) and nothing purchased in JamUp being usable here I’ll never know how this app sounds.
Bias Fx on iPhone can’t load iaa
by brianmodeler on 2018/10/31 19:17
So a major issue with Bias Amp 2 mobile is that you cannot use the IR loader. This means that iOS users must rely on IAA apps to use Their own IR files. Bias FX on iPhone will not load IAA apps at all. This is quite frustrating. This is why I give one star. Fix for five stars from me.
Not working with GarageBand
by torpedo benny on 2018/10/30 23:07
Trying to get it to work with GarageBand using an I rig pro, does not work, all my others do though so it is not user error.
A little disappointed
by Jbw1014 on 2018/10/27 07:35
I have Bias Amp 2 as well as JamUp and love them. So when I saw an ad pop up on my iPhone for this program I downloaded it only to find that it had 1 amp simulation for bass and 1 effect which was a compressor. Is this really all that you get for the free download?
Help with metal license
by Matt Wengler on 2018/10/25 04:53
Great app, great sound and stunning beautiful looks. Could you guys add Bluetooth playback? So I can jam with me air pods. I purchased metal pack in jam up but I can't get my license for it on bias FX
Inner App Audio not working 😢
by Codytaylor7 on 2018/10/24 00:36
Just says the inner app audio app you have selected is not available at this time. Says the same for any app I choose like Jam Up, Amplitude, Etc. Been like this for a pretty hot minute. Pretty lame considering I just payed for the full version. All around great sound otherwise. Food for thought, I think it would be really cool if you guys somehow considered incorporating a loop application in within the app like Jam Up has. But I guess just fixing the inner audio app problem would be cool too. Thanx
Massive tone for the money.
by sevenfist777 on 2018/10/18 17:11
I’ve been using Bias FX for about a year already and it sounds amazing. Nice clean acoustic tones to massive high gain metal. I never have to go back to my small practice amp again.
we need an improvement for the live controls
by NestorLeiva503 on 2018/10/18 05:52
I think the preset and effect controls were designed more for recordings than for live playing, I'm always playing the guitar live using a MIDI controller pedal and an audio interface and I feel it sounds great. but when I’m changing presets a cut in the sound occurs and the reverb and the delays stop working, that's frustrating. it would be excellent if they added a function similar to the snapshots in line6 Hilex to change predetermined effects in a single preset. in this way we avoid the sound cuts and the ambient effects can continue working, it is only a suggestion. I hope it makes sense and thanks.
Best Guitar Amp/Fx emulation!!!
by ReignSupreme666 on 2018/10/16 22:14
First off, I would like to thank everybody at positive grid team for going the extra mile by bringing this to the iPhone. Words can’t describe what a game changer this is for me. I can now take my BiasFX anywhere without the need of my iPad. This is a dream come true. I wish I had 2 more hands so I can give you guys 4 thumbs up!👍👍👍👍 My only complaint is that the metal pack from JamUp Pro doesn’t transfer like it did on BiasFX for iPad. What’s up with that?
Good Sounds
by #&$*$&*# on 2018/10/16 20:23
I get good amp sounds with positive grid. Responsive and limitlessly tweakable. Haven’t experienced the glitches I’ve read about in these bad reviews. Updates made it sound better, which was welcomed.
Where is the sync button for iphone version?
by chegaro on 2018/10/16 18:17
Was trying to sync my metal signature pack, as I did on my ipad, as I purchased it way back when in Jamup pro, but I can’t find the SYNC option in the iphone version. Where is it?
The best app ever for live guitar
by Bartender4u on 2018/10/16 15:34
I’m so excited that this app is now available for iPhone. And thank you positive grid for not making me repurchase everything. Keep up the good work.
Won’t log in
by Brad Lentz on 2018/10/16 01:05
Just as the title says; I can’t log in to the tonecloud. So I can’t really get into it just yet..probably an issue on my end, but might also be a bug.
Definitely impressed with it.
by MemoNegan on 2018/10/04 04:48
After trying out the free version I was convinced to get the paid version. Possibly the best thing on the market.
Octave not working
by YaBoyRoss on 2018/09/05 21:45
I purchased this and an expansion pack almost exclusively for the poly octaver so that I could loop bass parts with guitar in Quantiloop. There seems to be a bug that keeps all octave pedals from working. Everything else seems fine. Would gladly add stars if I could find some help!!
Shiver me timbers
by Pzyklon on 2018/09/03 21:23
I’m a newbie but been listening for years. Man this is built for the 21st century. For the money, you’re getting a sensational ecosystem that will go as far as your imagination. Rock on, indeed.
Too Buggy
by a74523419 on 2018/09/01 16:55
I bought a bundle with Bias Fx, Bias Amp, Jam Up etc. The programs don’t integrate right and every update introduces a new problem I didn’t have before. It sounds good when it works right. I would not buy it again.
Random Clicks and Pops with interface
by ReezyMusic on 2018/08/31 00:35
This review has nothing to do with the quality or FX or modeling because they are top knot notch. I have used the desktop plugin for profession session work and movie scoring for years and love it (that’s why I bought the iPad version). My problem is when using an interface to perform guitar live it randomly clicks and pops like it has buffering issues. It does it regardless of when it is in low latency mode or not or if I only have one effect on or just an amp. I’m using it on a 2018 iPad 9.7in and line6 sonic port VX so I don’t know why it would have such a hard time processing this program in real time. I bought this wanting to replace my other fly date rig for the great portability but I can’t trust it because of the random clicking and popping that happen. If anyone has a fix for this problem please let me know.
A few missing things
by vksolanki on 2018/08/27 03:12
This is one of the best sounding apps out there! Unfortunately it does not sync my settings from my desktop version. Also the interface needs a facelift as I cannot find the location where a can adjust the cabinet settings.

BiasFX, Bias Amp, and Bias Pedal, just do it!
by Tilden Thorne on 2018/06/05 18:03
I am really enjoying this troika of tonal fun! It takes a little work to tweak each piece to fit your tastes but I have found the end result well worth a little effort. The X Drummer tie in is icing on the cake (great practice setup). I enjoy producing via a 12” iPad Pro more then a laptop these days, and this makes for the best of the modeling apps I have used. Add Amp and Pedal and it is off to the amusement park! There is a surprising amount of touch sensitivity and breakup in the new version. You can easily dial in a gritty overdriven tone that cleans up as roll back the volume a lighten your attack. I hope the developers keep pushing the limits of this app, it is my go to for tone when recording via iOS.
Amazing bang for the buck
by Foweiorwf12324 on 2018/06/05 16:36
This is just a notch under the sound quality of a Kemper for a small fraction of the price. Anybody with an iPad and no Kemper is a fool not to buy it. I have had a lifelong obsession with multi fx units and amp simulators. This is the real deal although I suggest running it into a tube amp and cab for best sound. But you can have a super cheap tube combo and this will make it sound Godlike at times. No joke.
AMAZING!!
by NitroBill on 2018/05/31 20:22
Best guitar tone I’ve EVER had! Sold off my half-stack and pedal system and exclusively use BiasFX on an iPad for my live rig. It’s awesome!
Bias FX + Looping = 5 stars!
by 8energy on 2018/05/30 06:27
Where's the loop pedal Positive Grid? Everything else great, option to turn off midi parameters in the middle of adjustments would be great. Best sounding amp sim, hands down!
Bias Fx and Bias Amp
by Courtjester252 on 2018/05/23 01:25

Loud “pop” when changing patches!
by The Zoracle on 2018/05/20 17:13
I’d love to use this in a practice/live situation, but the “pop” makes it unusable. I’d love to see a “snapshot” feature that could fix this. If Positive Grid could nail this down, Line 6 should be scared.
Amazing!

Starts recording randomly when iPad is locked
by klkfahu on 2018/05/13 02:03
I’ve got an iPad mini 4 (128gb, if it matters) that starts randomly recording in Bias FX when I close/lock it with the official apple Smart Cover. Have tried restarting iPad, updating both iOS & the app software and it still does this, despite not even opening the app for months. It drains my battery every time this happens and there’s seemingly no way to stop this bug.
Bias amp crashes when going to fix
by NeonsDglow on 2018/05/10 21:18
For some reason my amps go blank (still have sound) when bias fx is used and the app crashes happens every time, been sending crash reports so I hope they fix this. Boy did this bias amp 2 break things.

Broken
by DanRad64 on 2018/05/07 18:43
Great app. Until the update to Bias Amp broke it. See my Bias Amp review for details. Edit: Updated to new versions of both apps and the problem went away. Good job getting this fixed ASAP!!
Since last update. Nothing works.
by GabeDaBabe69 on 2018/05/07 03:18
I loved using this app until the most recent Bias Amp 2 release and the recent Bias FX updates and all the presets and my custom tones stopped having any audio output whatsoever. Now this app does nothing and I sunk about $40 into it. Thanks Positive Grid!
Broken, What Happened? No output
by SomeCallMeAJ on 2018/05/07 00:54
This app worked perfectly ever since I bought it but for the last three days it has not been outputting ANY sound. I know everything is being inputted correctly because the tuner works, and whenever I switch between presets, it’ll make a sound of audio (I strum while I switch to be sure) but when it’s done loading it’s silent again. It’s also not working with Inter App audio at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it’s just broken.
One of the Best*
by Gern Blasnton on 2018/05/06 14:48
I have had enough. 22 "updates" (bug shifts) in 24 months and every time one thing is "fixed" at least one more is broken. I get an argument from support about what is and isn't stereo. A month later the stereo problem is fixed but the app crashes and won't restart without a reinstall. They are getting away with this and they shouldn't. Say what you will about Amplitube, Tone Stack, et al, at least they don't insult you with unfinished betas that you pay full price for. I'm done. I wish I could recover all the money I spent on PositiveGrid products. You want Amp modeling hardware? Get a Kemper product...well, worth the few extra dollars. Send a message to Bias and Positive Grid; clean up your act! *Bias Amp & FX have, IMO, the best sounding simulation engine. But the quality control is the worst in the field. Always make your updates on a secondary device before committing them you your main unit. Bug fixes and version updates statistically introduce other failures more often than not. This is not likely to change, why, I have no Earthly idea. Always have ToneStack ready for your gig. It won’t let you down.

Can’t download in app purchase of positive grid bias fx studio rack pack

Good, wish it were great
by Dereklderek on 2018/04/06 16:01
Bias fx just like Jamup pro has its place and both are great for that. For instance headphone practice, direct recording, jamming with friends plugged into an amp, or even for gigging. You can get away with live performances, but it does sound thinner than an equivalent actual tube amp. I don't feel it has the projection to sound great at tremendous stage/club volume. Again an adequate alternative for the cost obviously if you have nothing else. Not a replacement for expensive unfortunately, tube amps and pedals. A fantastic ultra inexpensive alternative to get you rocking anytime, anywhere.
Really again.

Every time there is an update, I go to tone cloud. “ newer version required”. Go to App Store and I have the newest version. Seriously getting old!!

Frustration
by Fayettec on 2017/12/20 12:49
The app does not seem to work well with multi channel usb audio interfaces. Can’t select input or outputs. Furthermore I can’t see or hear the bias amp integrate with it. This is great as a casual level app but not a serious pro app. This should be easy but I can’t see or hear any difference with the bias amp purchase. Also was not working right with my usb audio interface. All I get is mono out even when hard panned and meters show sound only on 1 channel.

I experienced a real difficult issue with an in app purchase for Bias FX. Went around in circles with support and Apple Support but have to say that after a few days Positive Grid was able to get me a working solution. I know others mention poor support but I wanted to share while my issues were indeed frustrating the app developer did care and did get me a fix. The App itself is fantastic. I also own Jam Up and Amplitude and each has its good and bad. I am more familiar with the Positive Grid stuff and like that we can share our creations. Now that my technical issues have been fixed, TIME TO JAM !!!
Settings ‘Back Button’ Still Not Fixed
by Vaultnaemsae on 2017/11/14 00:22
Positive Grid has acknowledged the error on iPad Mini (more than a month ago?) yet still has not released an update to fix it. Seriously, I have to restart the app every time I want to change more than one setting? We all know it’s a good app but please please please fix this ASAP. Debilitating — especially when we can see you releasing major updates to Bias Amp.
Can we get an update???
by Strizbiz on 2017/11/13 22:18
Just updated Bias amps, now when I try to open amps from in Bias fx I get a message saying I need a newer version of Bias Fx....very sloppily done.
WOW!! sounds amazing!!
by shanemacc on 2017/10/27 00:57
this app truly sounds amazing!! so easy to tweak and create great tones!! been using it in the studio and it it’s hard to believe it’s not a real guitar cab with a mic. would have given 5 stars but there are some glitchy things. not sure if it’s IOs 11 or not but when i go to midi control assignments the edit and done buttons are on top of each other and i can’t back out of the page. have to the close the app and relaunch.
Back to normal. Love Bias FX
by alderre on 2017/10/08 03:32
I had to edit my review. The problem was on my end. Noisy power source was the culprit. Great customer service. The tones are good enough for me to skip the AxeFx or Kemper and Helix. Good job Positive Grid.
Great sounds, needs improvement for control
by GabrielQ on 2017/10/01 14:08
Edit I'm actually pretty happy with the sounds I'm getting so far (except the octave effects have a lot of latency on my iPad Pro 10.5, and the wah isn't amazing and there're no options or tweaking available), but it needs better midi integration for a pro level app. For one, unlike its competitors, switching of pedals on/off has no correlation to cc value, which is a pita for identifying active effects unless staring at app. In other words, in AmpliTube or ToneStack, when you send a nonzero value cc, the corresponding pedal will turn on if it's off, or stay on if it is already on. In Bias FX, regardless of the state of the pedal, it will switch regardless of the message you send it. Im using this in a lie situation, and my controller changes color for on/off states, so I can keep track of what pedals are active w/o looking at iPad. If I change presets or with pedals active or something though, the colors get all messed up and there's no way to fix it w/o turning pedals off on iPad, which is unacceptable for live use. There's also a lot of parameters you cannot control via midi, like amplifier knobs. The lack of a pedal type aby and ability to have effects chains is a huge oversight as well. Lastly, it lacks support for a virtual midi port, which I had to work around using midiflow, but it's clock cannot be slaved to another app. It's a shame, because I love the user interface for the most part, and the sounds. I tried out ToneStack, and it just doesn't come close sound wise, and the interface is way less comfortable, but the midi integration is so much better and more complete. I'm going to try iaa w/ ToneStack for wah and octave effects though, because it's the only thing I'm finding really difficult to play with. I'm telling you, it's gotta be between 50-100 millisecond delay on the lower octave, even on the pog clone that I paid extra for, which I'm not happy about, makes it almost unusable for organ and bass sounds. And the wah boosts the volume a ridiculous amount in the low/mid range, and in the top end seems to just cut... I play a lot of reggae, so the inadequacies of the wah are crippling... so in summary: -better midi functionality, handle cc messages properly -improve wah, (and/or offer different models, or allow tweaking) -improve low note latency on octave effects Other than that, I really do love the sounds and the visual interface. If none of the above are issues for you, I highly recommend it. I use it live at hotels, restaurants, corporate/government functions, and weddings 5-6 nights a week for the last month and it's been reliable as well. Dying for those improvements though
Much better these days.

by dnields on 2017/08/25 15:42
I'm a former professional, current hobbyist. Old school. And this app has completely convinced me. The tones are really solid (clean tones not quite as convincing as distorted, but I'm also getting better at dialing in good sounds. More user error than program error I think.). I find this app more intuitive than others I've tried. I'm still exploring how to use this live. That requires some external devices (iBoard etc). If that works then I'll move this up to 5 stars.
Sounds great!
by kai_17 on 2017/07/02 13:37
After using Bias FX for a while, I can say with assurance that you can get some amazing tones out of this thing. The other reviewers have not messed around to see what sounds good. You can get some phenomenal results out of this thing alone, and with Bias Amp, you can go further. It might be like I'm reciting a developer's note, but it's the truth. I play an LTD MH-100QMNT. Relatively cheap guitar. Plugging into this is a big moneysaver. I use it to accurately replicate tones from my favorite bands, like Opeth, Aerosmith, Megadeth, Metallica etc. Play around, get used to it, and you can get it to sound great! At the beginning it sounded horrible, but that was only due to a lack of experience. Hope this helps!

PLEASE FIX - WORST UPDATE EVER SINCE THEIR LAST WORST UPDATE EVER
by #wtj3 on 2017/05/22 18:33
AGAIN REALLY!!! DO NOT TRUST THEIR UPDATES!!! Latest update makes it unusable again. Problems changing amps. Can no longer open some saved presets. One star only because I can't give a negative number. Was my favorite app. No longer considering desktop version. Will go back to old school real amp and pedals.

Version 1.5.0 had some major issues. As promised by customer support, those have been fixed in 1.5.1. It sounds very good and works OK. It crashes sometimes when switching patches. There are some unexpected things that happen in both the user interface and sound output from time to time. Basic package is decent. I feel no need to purchase expansion items. Four stars at the $10 sale price. I'm considering the desktop version now also. There is a free demo of that.

I hope the developers keep pushing the limits of this app, it is my go to for tone when recording via iOS.
we need an improvement for the live controls
by NestorLeiva503 on 2018/10/18 05:52
I think the preset and effect controls were designed more for recordings than for live playing, I'm always playing the guitar live using a MIDI controller pedal and an audio interface and I feel it sounds great. but when I’m changing presets a cut in the sound occurs and the reverb and the delays stop working, that's frustrating. it would be excellent if they added a function similar to the snapshots in line6 Hilex to change predetermined effects in a single preset. in this way we avoid the sound cuts and the ambient effects can continue working, it is only a suggestion. I hope it makes sense and thanks.

Amazing

I’ve played guitar for over 30 years but with 3 kids I’ve been really out of the loop for the last 15. I recently got back into it when one of my kids wanted to learn. So I was still living in the era of stomp box chains and rack mount effects. I just happened on Bias FX by accident and WOW . . . I’m I glad that I did. It’s amazingly powerful and customizable while at the same time, extremely easy to use. With all of the presets, even a complete beginner can dial up an amazing tone. This one little app replaced thousands of dollars of effects. I think I’ll put all of my old gear on eBay before the rest of the world discovers this amazing tool.
app support is sloooow, IAA inside app is not working
by trancemuter on 2019/08/14 21:06
update: the IAA is not working inside the app on both my iphone and ipad. when i use try to use it a dialog pops up saying that the app has to be switched to stereo mode even though it is already in stereo mode, then it goes into a loop with the dialog constantly popping up, the only way to get out of it us quiting the app. finally they answered my support request after like a week, told me to reinstall the app, I did, same problem.

Thanx
Money Grab
by hansolo625 on 2019/04/13 07:24
So... screw us who have spent money on JamUp packages and Bias Amp2 right?

Lovin’ it!!

No joke.
Good Sounds
by #&$*$&*# on 2018/10/16 20:23

Broken, What Happened? No output
by SomeCallMeAJ on 2018/05/07 00:54
This app worked perfectly ever since I bought it but for the last three days it has not been outputting ANY sound. I know everything is being inputted correctly because the tuner works, and whenever I switch between presets, it’ll make a sound of audio (I strum while I switch to be sure) but when it’s done loading it’s silent again. It’s also not working with Inter App audio at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it’s just broken.

Great app. Until the update to Bias Amp broke it. See my Bias Amp review for details. Edit: Updated to new versions of both apps and the problem went away. Good job getting this fixed ASAP!!
I am using the iPhone SE please fix the issue thank you
Definitely impressed with it.

After trying out the free version I was convinced to get the paid version. Possibly the best thing on the market.
Thanks
The best app ever for live guitar

I’m so excited that this app is now available for iPhone. And thank you positive grid for not making me repurchase everything. Keep up the good work.
Massive tone for the money.
by sevenfist777 on 2018/10/18 17:11
I’ve been using Bias FX for about a year already and it sounds amazing. Nice clean acoustic tones to massive high gain metal. I never have to go back to my small practice amp again.

I’m a newbie but been listening for years. Man this is built for the 21st century. For the money, you’re getting a sensational ecosystem that will go as far as your imagination. Rock on, indeed.
Where is the sync button for iphone version?
by chegaro on 2018/10/16 18:17
Was trying to sync my metal signature pack, as I did on my ipad, as I purchased it way back when in Jamup pro, but I can’t find the SYNC option in the iphone version. Where is it?
Can’t listen to it
by Originaltoothgenius on 2019/10/15 20:08
I love it on the iPad, but can’t use it on my iPhone XR since I plug my iRig into the connector and it won’t work with Bluetooth. So I’m stuck with the iPad. Or the competition... Yes, my iRig has a lightning connector. That’s the only way to connect to the iPhone! Unfortunately, there’s no way to connect earbuds, or an output to an amp. So I’m stranded.
Much better these days.
by Carlton Chase on 2017/09/28 19:56
Early on I ran in to a lot of bugs with this app. But these days it works great and sounds great. I couldn’t be happier.
Back to normal. Love Bias FX
by alderre on 2017/10/08 03:32
I had to edit my review. The problem was on my end. Noisy power source was the culprit. Great customer service. The tones are good enough for me to skip the AxeFx or Kemper and Helix. Good job Positive Grid.
thanks for fixing!

Thanks for fixing the need to purchase packs to be able to use a tone! Love the app

by zaptone on 2019/09/21 12:55
I buy the ultimate pack in a special offer just amazing!

Amazing
by Aidan YO MOM on 2019/06/15 13:42
I’ve played guitar for over 30 years but with 3 kids I’ve been really out of the loop for the last 15.

If you guys can fix that, definitely giving it a 5/5.

by Camilleyumm on 2019/02/05 00:34

Doesn’t work with iPhone X
by bearfan1973 on 2019/01/15 02:44
I have an iPhone X, an Apogee Jam interface, and Bose QuietComfort Bluetooth headphones. Hearing the guitar thru the headphones does NOT work. Whats the point if I cannot hear it thru headphones, and the iPhone X does NOT have an external headphone jack!! Bias support won’t (or can’t) tell me how to fix this so I can only assume that Bias can only be used on old iPhones that have physical headphone jacks, and that corded headphones must be used.

Fix for five stars from me.

by Jbw1014 on 2018/10/27 07:35
I have Bias Amp 2 as well as JamUp and love them. So when I saw an ad pop up on my iPhone for this program I downloaded it only to find that it had 1 amp simulation for bass and 1 effect which was a compressor. Is this really all that you get for the free download?

Inner App Audio not working 😢
by Codytaylor7 on 2018/10/24 00:36
Just says the inner app audio app you have selected is not available at this time. Says the same for any app I choose like Jam Up, Amplitude, Etc. Been like this for a pretty hot minute. Pretty lame considering I just payed for the full version. All around great sound otherwise. Food for thought, I think it would be really cool if you guys somehow considered incorporating a loop application in within the app like Jam Up has. But I guess just fixing the inner audio app problem would be cool too. Thanx
Massive tone for the money.

we need an improvement for the live controls
by NestorLeiva503 on 2018/10/18 05:52
I think the preset and effect controls were designed more for recordings than for live playing, I'm always playing the guitar live using a MIDI controller pedal and an audio interface and I feel it sounds great. but when I’m changing presets a cut in the sound occurs and the reverb and the delays stop working, that's frustrating. it would be excellent if they added a function similar to the snapshots in line6 Hilex to change predetermined effects in a single preset. in this way we avoid the sound cuts and the ambient effects can continue working, it is only a suggestion.

After trying out the free version I was convinced to get the paid version. Possibly the best thing on the market.
Octave not working
by YaBoyRoss on 2018/09/05 21:45
I purchased this and an expansion pack almost exclusively for the poly octaver so that I could loop bass parts with guitar in Quantiloop. There seems to be a bug that keeps all octave pedals from working. Everything else seems fine. Would gladly add stars if I could find some help!!

Too Buggy
by a74523419 on 2018/09/01 16:55
I bought a bundle with Bias Fx, Bias Amp, Jam Up etc.

Bias Fx and Bias Amp
by Courtjester252 on 2018/05/23 01:25
I think it's the best software for the price. I use it for everything. The Sky's the limit with Positive Grid.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it’s just broken.

by Gern Blasnton on 2018/05/06 14:48
I have had enough.

Frustration
by Fayettec on 2017/12/20 12:49
The app does not seem to work well with multi channel usb audio interfaces.

WOW!! sounds amazing!!
by shanemacc on 2017/10/27 00:57
this app truly sounds amazing!! so easy to tweak and create great tones!! been using it in the studio and it it’s hard to believe it’s not a real guitar cab with a mic. would have given 5 stars but there are some glitchy things. not sure if it’s IOs 11 or not but when i go to midi control assignments the edit and done buttons are on top of each other and i can’t back out of the page. have to the close the app and relaunch.

There is a free demo of that.

we need an improvement for the live controls
by NestorLeiva503 on 2018/10/18 05:52
I think the preset and effect controls were designed more for recordings than for live playing, I'm always playing the guitar live using a MIDI controller pedal and an audio interface and I feel it sounds great. but when I’m changing presets a cut in the sound occurs and the reverb and the delays stop working, that's frustrating. it would be excellent if they added a function similar to the snapshots in line6 Hilex to change predetermined effects in a single preset. in this way we avoid the sound cuts and the ambient effects can continue working, it is only a suggestion. I hope it makes sense and thanks.

Thanx
Money Grab
by hansolo625 on 2019/04/13 07:24
So... screw us who have spent money on JamUp packages and Bias Amp2 right?

I'm convinced.
by dnields on 2017/08/25 15:42
I'm a former professional, current hobbyist.
Can’t download in app purchase of positive grid bias fx studio rack pack
by davedynamite01 on 2018/05/01 14:58
Please It’s been 3 days since I paid for the pack and it refuses to download, when I try to reinstall it tells me that I have already purchased the in app, my iPad is working fine but when it wants to add the purchase it never loads always that spinning processing icon...what do I do....I have already written to both Apple support and you guys....
Lovin’ it!!
WOW!! sounds amazing!!
by shanemacc on 2017/10/27 00:57
this app truly sounds amazing!! so easy to tweak and create great tones!! been using it in the studio and it it’s hard to believe it’s not a real guitar cab with a mic. would have given 5 stars but there are some glitchy things. not sure if it’s IOs 11 or not but when i go to midi control assignments the edit and done buttons are on top of each other and i can’t back out of the page. have to the close the app and relaunch.
No joke.
Good Sounds
by #&$*$&*# on 2018/10/16 20:23
I get good amp sounds with positive grid. Responsive and limitlessly tweakable. Haven’t experienced the glitches I’ve read about in these bad reviews. Updates made it sound better, which was welcomed.
A few missing things
by vksolanki on 2018/08/27 03:12
This is one of the best sounding apps out there! Unfortunately it does not sync my settings from my desktop version. Also the interface needs a facelift as I cannot find the location where a can adjust the cabinet settings.
Frustration
by Fayettec on 2017/12/20 12:49
The app does not seem to work well with multi channel usb audio interfaces.
Broken
by DanRad64 on 2018/05/07 18:43
Great app. Until the update to Bias Amp broke it. See my Bias Amp review for details. Edit: Updated to new versions of both apps and the problem went away. Good job getting this fixed ASAP!!
I am using the iPhone SE please fix the issue thank you
Definitely impressed with it.
by MemoNegan on 2018/10/04 04:48
After trying out the free version I was convinced to get the paid version. Possibly the best thing on the market.
Thanks
The best app ever for live guitar
by Bartender4u on 2018/10/16 15:34
I’m so excited that this app is now available for iPhone. And thank you positive grid for not making me repurchase everything. Keep up the good work.
Massive tone for the money.
by sevenfist777 on 2018/10/18 17:11
I’ve been using Bias FX for about a year already and it sounds amazing. Nice clean acoustic tones to massive high gain metal. I never have to go back to my small practice amp again.
Not working with GarageBand
by torpedo benny on 2018/10/30 23:07
Trying to get it to work with GarageBand using an I rig pro, does not work, all my others do though so it is not user error.
Bias sounds amazing
by guitar 53 on 2019/08/05 02:53
Bias effects is really incredible . I am using this over my other rig most of the time. It’ sounds amazing and it is so easy to use.
Shiver me timbers
by Pzyklon on 2018/09/03 21:23
I’m a newbie but been listening for years. Man this is built for the 21st century. For the money, you’re getting a sensational ecosystem that will go as far as your imagination. Rock on, indeed.
Good job Positive Grid.
thanks for fixing!
by Logan_Addis on 2018/11/12 18:23
Thanks for fixing the need to purchase packs to be able to use a tone! Love the app
Really again.
by RedNjamison on 2018/03/04 00:29
Every time there is an update, I go to tone cloud. “ newer version required”. Go to App Store and I have the newest version. Seriously getting old!!
Simply the Best
by atcmini on 2019/09/10 14:57
Doubling tracks no one can tell the dif between the original and my tracks. Amazing!
Help with metal license
by Matt Wengler on 2018/10/25 04:53
Great app, great sound and stunning beautiful looks. Could you guys add Bluetooth playback? So I can jam with me air pods. I purchased metal pack in jam up but I can't get my license for it on bias FX
