I purchased $100 with of AMC movie gift cards. I am an AMC A list member so I can see unlimited movies (basically) but my daughter is 14 and can’t be an A List member. So I bought her these gift cards to see the movies with me this summer. I figured we could save mine 10–15% by doing this. Instead the second I went to redeem these cards (4 days after purchase) they were already used down to only $5.48 left. I sent out a request right away on 7/10. Raise wanted a ridiculous 10 to research the issue. After not hearing anything 15 days later I tried reaching out via email again. For 15 days there were no response to my inquiry or emails. Finally on the 17th day I initiated a chat session (which was unavailable during their normal hours they say it is). The rep said she couldn’t do anything and had to research it further and would get back to me before the end of the day. At 4:30 pm after not hearing anything I reached back out with a chat session. This rep said she didn’t see anything but she would try also to get an answer before the end of the day. Then 1 hour later I get an email saying sorry, the “BRAND” said the card was used while you had access to it. Then Raise started demanding I provide a screen shot of the attempted purchase 17 days ago, and what the “Brand’s” response was to the gift card not working. What the billing address I tried using.. and a bunch of other hoops I had to prove I didn’t use the card. Just know if there is ever an issue their 1 year guarantee is useless and you either won’t get your money back or you are going to go through the most frustrating process to try to get it back. I also don’t want a response from the developer. I just want my money back and to never think of Raise again. Good luck to anyone else that has to deal with them.
Perpetual problems

Used to love this app. Over the last year or so I continually get error messages stating there’s a server error on their part which they are trying to fix so I can’t even get in. On top of that, on the occasions I have been able to get in there are issues with it not being able to process my order at checkout even though the card I use is perfectly fine. I have switched to Gift Card Granny due to sheer frustration with Raise. Raise has lost out on bunches of business from me, and I don’t recommend it to anyone anymore. Gah!

This app had saved me well over $500 just make sure to recheck the balence when u purchase however I’ve never had this problem that other reviews seem to have just stick to the digital cards people only seem to have issues with sellers mailing them physical cards which makes sense would take much longer

I have been using Raise to buy various gift cards since 2016 and have never had a problem until my most recent purchases that were handled so badly I felt compelled to write this review. I purchased $400 in nutrisystem gift cards prior to the 4th of July holiday and when I went to use them they were unredeemable. I waited 24 hours in case it was a loading issue, then retried - same problem. I sent a message to customer service that I was experiencing a problem and reported the cards via the app as having a problem, then I did a really stupid thing. I repurchased a new set of the same type of gift cards, just thinking that I got a bad batch of cards. So needless to say, I had the same problem. I tried calling the number for customer service that was listed online on the raise.com website, it said “please call during business hours”. Being the holiday weekend by this point, I waited until I had some time during my next available weekday and tried to call. The message was “please use our chat feature or email us”. So I tried the chat feature on my phone. No dice. I tried my iPad and had the same issue. It then occurred to me to use the desktop website, so I finally got the chat feature to work and after waiting about 30 mins for a representative I presented my issue and reported the two set of orders that I was having issues with. I was told by the agent that they would look into the issue and email me back a resolution by the end of the day. So the next day I got an email from the representative who told me they had verified the balance with the retailer (in the meantime I had called the retailer and they confirmed that these cards were not valid in their system). So I emailed them back and they asked for a screenshot of the error I was experiencing. I sent that back and several days later I was granted a “one time courtesy refund” for the defective cards. Great! I was very happy with that resolution, even though the process was quite intensive. However I when I looked at what they refunded me, it was only for the first set of cards that I ordered, I was still out for the second set of $400 cards. So I emailed that representative back and asked to have the refund applied to the second set of orders since they were having the exact same issue. One week, zero communication. I waited again until I could get time in my busy day to log into that chat app on my desktop, and got an agent (really quickly this time, which was nice). However that agent basically just told me that the cards were fine, I emailed them while on the chat app the screenshot of my issue and they said that I didn’t enter the right numbers (I ASSURE you, they were correct - the last several digits weren’t showing on the first picture so I resent another picture with the rest of the number) by that time the agent had just cancelled the chat. So that was that. They did email me back later that afternoon saying that if I could call the vendor and get a statement in writing that the cards weren’t working they would see what they could do. By that point I had called my credit card company to dispute the charges, because as far as I’m concerned this had gone far enough. Maybe they are having a glitch, I really hope so, because I have really enjoyed using raise, but at this point, I’m not sure I would use them if this is how they handle issue with cards.

I purchased a Gift card and wasn’t able to use it. I contacted customer service over a 20 days ago and no one has responded. I used the report a problem about the card link. It said 3 days to get a response. I tried the “email us link” and got a 404 error. I used the chat and only got an automated response that said they would email customer support for me. I still haven’t received a response. So the service works great if there isn’t anything wrong with the cards. However, don’t count on them to honor the guarantee because you can’t get anyone to respond to your issues. So buy at your own risk.
Issues with cards gift cards and no support

I have issues with multiple cards. One of them had balance than I bought for, and two others cannot be used. Each one is supposed to be $250, so I am concerned with how much money I can lose but trying to save a few dollars. I tried to report issues with the cards. First, they make it very difficult to do that. I am already logged in the app, but once you click “report an issue with cards”, it directs you to a web page where you have to log in again. Fine I did that, and filled in all the details, but when I clicked “submit”, the website says oops there is a problem, and I can not submit the request. Then I tried “Email Us” in the app, and the “404 page not found” window shows up. Then I tried “Chat with us” during the business hours that they listed, and nothing shows up. Now I am stuck here with multiple gifts cards that cannot be used, and concerned about hundreds of dollars lost by using Raise.

First time using the app, the process of purchasing was quite efficient; however, the gift card I purchased didn’t have the correct balance so I filled out the form so CS could help me with it. A week later-nothing. That’s when I started contacting support by chat. The first day, they couldn’t find an agent because it was not the right time of day. It was around noon! Someone had to be working. So I left an email with the robot so I could be contacted later. Two days later, still nothing. So I contacted through chat again. Fortunately, I finally go ahold of someone ~15 minutes later and received my refund, but WOW. That was such a long process. Not worth doing another time is the problem arises again.

It’s really annoying that they request to upload photo id and passport to verify even after calling. They can make different form of verification like bank login or accept other forms of payments like PayPal. Why do I need to upload my passport? It’s scary that you ask for that

I got a gift card here and when I tried to use it, it was invalid. The communication from Raise is also extremely slow and there is no way to instantly chat with a rep. For your own peace of mind and to save your money just don’t use this platform. I am deleting the app from my phone after just one failed use.

Since the 3.11 update went out a week ago, the app has stopped working. When I go to open the raise app, it flashes for a second and then shuts down completely. I’ve already tried wiping out the cache, even uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but I’m still getting the same result. To make matters more difficult, there is no response from the email I sent a week ago, no direct contact phone number, and no way to revert to the previous version. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!

Raise website and app used to be great. Updated to the new app version 3.11 on June 2, 2021 and it will not load on two different iPhones. Both running iOS 13.4.1 so not too behind. Totally unacceptable to “update” an app and instead break it! Doesn’t anyone test this before release!?
App doesn’t open

I’ve been using (and loving) this app for years, but just 3 or 4 days ago, I updated it to the newest version, and now I can’t even open the app. Whenever I click on the app to open it, it opens for a split second and then closes on its own. I’ve deleted the app and re-download it multiple times hoping that would fix the issue, but I’m still having the same problem with the app closing immediately after opening.

I got the app and download it it I found one to give her up there and ordered it and I had to jump through so many hoops just to get them to actually give it to me and then suddenly my account was frozen and I had to call so I called and the guy said everything was fine it was just a little name mixup so a few days later I tried to get another card from there and it won’t let me and says my account is frozen and I have to call them..ForThe second time even though they said that it was fixed and everything was fine. In my opinion if you’re going to make an app for people please don’t do it unless you really actually know what you were doing because these people clearly do not know what they’re doing over there or are up to something.

I’ve only been using Raise for a few months and normally it’s been a good experience but today was awful. The app was very glitchy today and so slow. It logged me out of my account and when I tried to log back in I had to restart my phone because the app kept freezing. Once I finally got back into my account and got the gift and I was trying to purchase it froze again on me. Finally I ended up paying with my regular debit card because the purchased gift card was taking a good amount of time to show up in the app. I also let me people cut in front of me in line a few times while I was messing with the app and it still didn’t get the job done. Maybe needs an update. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience next time I’m brave enough to try again.

I’ve been a Raise customer for a couple years and after spending hundreds, they randomly freeze my account. I’ve been trying to get it unlocked, but they’re closed whenever I call. I am DONE with all of the headaches caused by them!

I am editing a previous review I had, after experiencing an issue and struggling to reach customer service, I have been contacted and the issue was resolved relatively quickly. I’m actually impressed at how quickly they resolved it once I finally got in touch with a person. That being said, their automated response bot is still awful, but the app itself is great. I’ve saved over $200 in a year. Great discounts.

Rarely do I write a review... However I feel like this one is needed. I am dissatisfied with how raise handles incidents with zero balance gift cards. I purchased a gift card which had no balance... I can’t get a human and haven’t heard a response in days... when should I hear back? I wish this was more disclosed that you can have this issue and it can take a week to hear back... something like that would be nice

Like so many other reviews on, my customer service experience has been a nightmare. I had about $150 in gift cards from a store when they updated their system. The updates were a good thing as it made the check out process faster and worked better with the app. Unfortunately, this made my gift cards not work. I’ve now tried a half-dozen times to get customer service to refund the $150. I’ll get into a bot chat and it will say it’s connecting me with a customer service rep, which ends up being another bot. I’ve sent multiple emails only to have the same canned, generic response and no follow up. Saving 10% on a purchase isn’t worth it the second you have any sort of issue. Even worse, just to find out where to make a return request is so buried in the website it’s a hassle just to start the process. Great idea, absolutely terrible customer service. Beware.

Seriously? Why leave out one of the main functions of Raise?? In order to see your gift cards that are pending sale you have to log in using a web browser and you’re continuously hassled at the top of the browser to use the app!!! Yes, the poorly designed app that only wants you to use their platform to shop gift cards. If you want to keep track or view the gift cards you put up for sale you have to use a web browser. Deleting this app soon. Might as well save myself the privacy from the data you’re collecting and use mobile safari.
Painful Experience

To our bad luck we did not read enough reviews regarding the app and got a gift card for an airbnb. To our dismay, the card was invalid as discussed in other reviews. After a lot of back and forth with support and providing them all the information they needed, there was nothing done. It was absolutely frustrating that we lost the vacation deal we were hoping to get with the gift card and there has been no response on the invalid gift card from the raise. Feel cheated by the app.

Used this app for two years and became disillusioned. If ALL cards worked as advertised and were easy to use, we’d give them 5 stars but we must do too much on our own to make the small annual savings ($300) worth our time. Examples: Red Robin cards do possess a bar code but the in store readers never work. Applebee’s cards do not have a barcode and must be entered by hand. Chili’s cards must be entered by management only. Bought two Starbucks cards and one appears as “inactive”. Still working with customer service to resolve. Which takes 7 days between responses! App not recommend.

It’s sending verification codes to the wrong number not my cell. Multiple emails sent. No response. Very frustrating!!! Manhattan

At first I really loved this app I never had any issues but now I have and have waited over a month with no response from support they try and make you feel as if something happens they have a one year guarantee I’m beginning to think they wait for the year to be up before responding. I bought a Ross gift card it’s a physical card that I ordered over 6 weeks ago I have yet to receive the card or a response from raise support in spite of reporting a problem with card and making a support ticket. I am extremely disappointed in this app I have another card that I never used that doesn’t have a balance same thing no response been well over a months time. Most cards I’ve purchased have had no issues just beware when you do you won't hear back from them. I have never been able to use the tracking number provided it’s never worked seems like a scam good luck to you if you are brave enough to make a purchase I for one am done spending money on this app!!!

Account Frozen

I was only able to buy one $50 dollars gift card from Old Navy, after that it says I need to call customer service because my account is frozen. I don’t know what I did wrong. I still haven’t used my Old Navy gift card but I checked it and it has money, hopefully it still has the money when I finally use it. I guess I won’t be using this app anymore since my account is frozen for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

I don’t recommend the use of this service. I’ve purchased an invalid card and got stuck with a $100 loss. Raise’s guarantee is non-existent and my incident has take ~6 weeks to receive a disappointing response from this company. I will never again use it and will make sure to express my experience when this company’s service comes up in conversations.

I first got this app in 2019 to save money on iTunes cards, which are no longer available. I also used it for other purchases and saved about $45 over 2 years. The app was great when it worked. However, there were constantly errors when trying to make a purchase that especially happened during sales. The electronic gift cards usually get delivered immediately, but I made a fool out of myself once when trying to quickly purchase a card that errored out while I was at a register at a store. I’ve been constantly having issues of orders being cancelled. The final straw was when I was trying to purchase a gift card on Black Friday. My first purchase got cancelled which I thought was because PayPal was having issues, so I tried again with my credit card. Well, the order was cancelled again. So I gave up and just went to place my order with the merchant with a different payment method. The next day, one of the purchases that was supposedly CANCELLED went through and I got charged for the gift card which I didn’t need anymore! I tried contacting customer service 5 times, through the app, email and phone. No response. So I decided to just eat the loss and use the card and be done with the service for good. Almost 3 months later, I get an email stating that they looked into my case but couldn’t help me. What a joke. Will never use this app again because it’s a headache. Forget trying to sell your cards to them too because I couldn’t figure out how to do it.
Unresponsive customer support (2nd time)

When it works, it works. When there is an issue... it is when you figure out how bad is the customer support. Made a purchase and received an invalid gift card. and used part of my saved raise cash (like cash back). Sent email to customer support and has been days without a single response. The app may work most times, but the times it does not... expect a mediocre support.

I’ve bought a lot of gift cards from Raise for more than a year. A month ago, I bought an Amazon Gift Card, and it’s invalid. I took a picture and send it to Raise Customer Service. They didn’t respond me.
Good experiences overall, but not always instant delivery

Each time I’ve ordered from them, I’ve gotten the e-gift card with the accurate amount on it. My biggest issue with them is their claim that the e-gift card ‘Delivers Instantly’. In most cases, they deliver the e-gift card quickly, but in some instances, I’ve had to wait for hours, or up to a day to get my gift card that ‘delivered instantly’. On the orders page, they make a note that says most orders deliver right away but some may take up to 24 hours. I’m okay with that, but put that on the e-gift card listing page, instead of embedding it on the orders page, after the sale is finalized. I emailed their customer support and told them the same thing I said here...

I purchased $750 worth of Airbnb gift cards to pay the balance on an upcoming trip. They were not valid, and Raise did not respond within the week. (I tried calling, the chat feature, and email.) I disputed the charge on my credit card, which finally prompted a response of ‘You need to work it out with Airbnb.’ Um, no, if you’re selling a product, *you* need to make sure it’s valid. I reached out to Airbnb anyway, and of course their answer was they only support gift cards purchased directly from them. I just purchased a gift card and have been waiting for it to be delivered electronically. The issue I have is the card would be “instantly delivered”. So I’m supposed to be buying something right now and can’t because I have no gift card. After further reading the order notes shows it can take up to 24 hours.

I HAD HIGH HOPES for this app but it let me down. I decided to buy a $50 gift card but with discounts and stuff it was at 40 something dollars. As soon as I had tried to purchase it they canceled my order and froze my account. The worst part is that instead of paying 40 something dollars I they charged me $50! When that wasn’t even the price of the gift card! Another bad thing is that MONEY STILL HASN'T BEEN REFUNDED! ITS BEEN ALMOST A WHOLE MONTH! DONT GET THIS APP!

I bought a lot of gift cards from Raise several years ago and still try to use them. Unfortunately with the COVID and contactless payments, the card numbers won’t work because the fast food merchants don’t have keypads. They have scanners but these gift cards don’t have bars codes. Merchants say to use mobile apps and preorder. Phooey on that. Today I couldn’t even update the balances or delete zero balance cards. What is wrong with this app???

I question the validity of this site and app now. I ordered a $100 gift card and received an email stating it was in my account. I look in my account and the order is not even in there. No gift card or anything! Yet, my money is taken out of my account. Can’t get a hold of customer service. I’ve been a member a few years and this has never happened. I’ll be reporting soon to the BBB and FTC if they don’t resolve this matter.

Invalid cards and no response

I have been using Raise for a couple of years and until recently haven’t really had any serious problems. But a few weeks ago I bought four $25 gift cards to a store and only one of them worked. The manager of the store searched for the cards in her system and printed me evidence that 3 of them were invalid. So I bought 3 more because I still wanted my items and I figured Raise would just refund me the invalid gift cards. Well 2 of those were invalid too! I went to the online chat and it is just a bot that said someone would email me within 24 hours. They didn’t. A few days later I sent an email. Finally got an auto response saying that they are slow because of COVID which is ridiculous because as an internet only company, work at home shouldn’t be that big of an issue. I emailed again and sent proof of the invalid cards. Nothing. I called the 800 number that was in the email and it simply refers me to chat or email. I chatted again (both times I was well within the stated “chat hours”) and again it said someone would email me within 24 hours and again they have not. They owe me over $100 and no one has responded in weeks. I don’t know if they are going out of business and just stealing peoples money or what, but it sure feels like they stole mine! Beware!

I purchase multiple discounted gift cards and then when I use it it got declined. There is no customer service representative to contact. Very sketchy. I tried to call and the automated system told me to email instead and the automated live chat says someone will contact you on email within 24 hours. No email ever. I lost around $50 purchasing 3 gift cards.

iTunes gift cards have been out of stock for most of the year (I’ve been checking since March). No discounts are currently offered on Apple gift cards. I’m sure that discounted cards are very high in demand, but a lot of people are struggling financially right now. You should be offering the same if not better discounts than you’ve offered in the past. Currently, this app is not saving me money on the cards that I want to buy.

Faulty GC and Zero Customer Service

I bought a $25 gift card to Cabela’s, which I immediately gave to my brother-in-law for his birthday. When he went to spend the card at the store, the clerk told him that the card has never been activated and there was no money on the card. I contacted Raise to try to fix the situation and I could not get a real person. They do not have a 1-800 number for customer service. I was forced to text with a chat robot, which said there was nothing they could do and to contact Cabela’s. It asked if I needed further help and I indicated that I did. That the robot asked for my email address and said that I would be contacted within 24 hours to resolve my issue. I waited days and was never contacted by Raise.com. I don’t know if it was Raise’s fault or Cabela’s fault that there was a zero balance on the card, but as the gift card vendor, Raise owes its customers actual customer service. Instead, they don’t give a crap about you after they have taken their cut of the purchase price. It is not worth saving a dollar or two to buy a GC from them, because you are risking the entire purchase price if something is wrong with the GC. If anything goes wrong, you are completely out of luck.. This was the first and last time I will use Raise.com and will now be deleting the app.

Bought four starbucks cards and only three worked. I contacted them and they said I redeemed it. I showed proof that I hadn’t but they insisted. You never get the chance to talk to anyone higher up, just some random person that answers your email. So any money I could’ve saved I lost and then some. Total scammers!

Used it years ago and just downloaded it back. Try to purchase a gift card but got a problem. I called customer service and the person who answered the phone his tone was really rude and hung up the phone before the conversation ended (and never call back if it is a signal accident.) I’d like to use other company’s app. Not worth to recommend it to friends anymore.

I’ve attempted to purchase an Adidas giftcard with a coupon and for some reason the transaction was cancelled requesting Further identification. I was asked to send a photo ID and a photo of my credit card. I’ve sent a photo of my Passport and a photo of my credit card and they claim a USA passport is NOT sufficient ID (US Passport mind you) and after 3 days of hassles they refuse to provide the giftcard even though my card was already Debited for the full amount. They deny cards being purchased with Coupons! Do not deal with this company! Still haven’t been credited the $164 for the transaction. Total rip off

I never even got to talk to anyone. I have a card I need to sell. I have my correct password, but they’re paranoid because I have a new phone. Whatever, but even though they supposedly have multiple ways of verifying my identity (per their website), they will ONLY use the phone number attached to my work desk (I’m not at work now, and won’t be back for a few days) to attempt to do so. Other apps and organizations give you the option of contacting you through another number or email - this one does not, it just keeps pumping out codes to the same number. So I called their help line to get it straightened out. Had I gotten a recording that said “Our office is currently closed” - all right, fine. Instead, I got a recording telling me to make a selection, then I got put on hold, then I got hung up on. Then I tried again and got hung up on again. The fact that they can’t work our alternative methods of verification (it’s 2020, for God’s sake) or how to either get their people to answer the phone, or make a “Sorry, we’re closed right now, try again during open hours” message, makes me think they don’t quite have this figured out.

The reviews saying that they are helpful and it’s a good app are either paid employees or bots. I have been scammed out of a good bit of money now with no answers from them. Only response I ever got was after leaving a review the stupid bot that says email me and we will look into it reposnded. Let me tell you they didn’t look into anything. PayPal payment method appears to be broken. I used PayPal as my payment method and the app screwed up and charged to the wrong PayPal payment method. I removed PayPal and now I can’t add it back.

I absolutely love this app. I have saved so much money. Super easy to use. Responsive and professional customer service. The categories are super easy to navigate. It tells you upfront if you can use the gift card online or in-store or both, which is a super important feature. The check out process is super simple. It establishes and keeps an order history of all my gift cards sold and bought, so that I can review it anytime, for clarification purposes. The process of selling and buying gift cards is just simply amazing and secure. I have not had any problems so far, and I hope it stays that way

Scammed. I thought it was safe because I purchased multiple gift cards without a problem. I bought a gift card for jcpenney and tried to redeem it but it had a zero balance. I submitted an inquiry on 7/25. By 8/28, I still had heard nothing back. When I called customer service I was told they responded on 8/17. I had no email from them and the status on the website still showed pending. They said JC Penney told them that an account associated with my personal information had used the card, but refused to provide any further details saying if I brought proof from JC Penney they would reconsider. So much for their guarantee.

My experience with Raise has been great so far, all my discounted gift cards I bought came with the exact balance in them. I had one instance where I was double charged due to an error at check out but luckily, Raise’s customer service helped me get my refund back on the accidental purchase! Will be buying many more cards in the future.

Before I get into the gift cards, let me start by saying how awesome the customer service team is. They are VERY helpful and understanding. Every great company cares about their customers, such as raise. Purchased a Nintendo eShop gift card for $46 that had a value of $50. Was about to buy it off of Best Buy but remembered a friend telling me about raise. I saved $4 by typing in raise.com (so easy). Will definitely continue to use this website/app for more years to come!!

At first I really loved this app I never had any issues but now I have and have waited over a month with no response from support they try and make you feel as if something happens they have a one year guarantee I’m beginning to think they wait for the year to be up before responding. I bought a Ross gift card it’s a physical card that I ordered over 6 weeks ago I have yet to receive the card or a response from raise support in spite of reporting a problem with card and making a support ticket. I am extremely disappointed in this app I have another card that I never used that doesn’t have a balance same thing no response been well over a months time. Most cards I’ve purchased have had no issues just beware when you do you won't hear back from them. I have never been able to use the tracking number provided it’s never worked seems like a scam good luck to you if you are brave enough to make a purchase I for one am done spending money on this app!!!

Purchased some Cabelas Cards for $380. The first payment didn’t go through so I had to resubmit. Even though Raise only shows one completed transaction and one failed, PayPal has 2 authorizations. PayPal dinged my PayPal balance for the first one and my bank account for the second, putting it in the hole. PayPal won’t release the funds until Raise cancels the authorization. May be PayPal’s fault, may be Raise. Either way I’m out $380 for now. The 2 companies have issues with the way they take money and it needs fixed. Right now neither one will fix it. They both tell me to call the other company. Super frustrating.

As a former Sr Financial Sales Advisor, I worked in a corporate bank for 11 yrs. I retired after having my little girl. In this age where ppl can buy equipment on the black market (machines & plastic cards) to copy the coding from debit & credit cards, I am sure the next step has been to do the same with gift cards, especially with the popularity of these apps & self check outs. I just caution users (and I use these apps myself) to buy with caution. Buy smaller amts if you don’t plan to use soon or buy just before you plan to shop, which is what I do. Sometimes I’m not able to find what I’m looking for but I’m also not losing money. There are very smart thieves out there. I encountered them everyday. And they are only getting smarter. Developers...please find a way to protect buyers from this or offer a different guarantee. I read some of the reviews. You can’t offer a gift card that doesn’t expire & only protect it for a yr. All of those ppl that endorsed your app would not endorse it if they thought users were now possibly losing money to dishonest card sellers. Something different needs to be put in place. Maybe a way to trace the cards back? It is fraud 🤷‍♀️

I first got this app in 2019 to save money on iTunes cards, which are no longer available. I also used it for other purchases and saved about $45 over 2 years. The app was great when it worked. However, there were constantly errors when trying to make a purchase that especially happened during sales. The electronic gift cards usually get delivered immediately, but I made a fool out of myself once when trying to quickly purchase a card that errored out while I was at a register at a store. I’ve been constantly having issues of orders being cancelled. The final straw was when I was trying to purchase a gift card on Black Friday. My first purchase got cancelled which I thought was because PayPal was having issues, so I tried again with my credit card. Well, the order was cancelled again. So I gave up and just went to place my order with the merchant with a different payment method. The next day, one of the purchases that was supposedly CANCELLED went through and I got charged for the gift card which I didn’t need anymore! I tried contacting customer service 5 times, through the app, email and phone. No response. So I decided to just eat the loss and use the card and be done with the service for good. Almost 3 months later, I get an email stating that they looked into my case but couldn’t help me. What a joke. Will never use this app again because it’s a headache. Forget trying to sell your cards to them too because I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

Thought I’d get a simple process m. Purchased two PlayStation and Macy’s gift cards, but couldn’t send as a gift. Had to screenshot the cards to send. Later discovered a Raise cash section and noticed that here was space where you could purchase and send as a gift. WHY??? Why are there two places/methods to purchase gift cards, one for Raise cash and one just in general. What’s sense does that make? Of course I want to purchase a gift card and receive a reward or cash back, isn’t that the purpose of the app??? To add insult to injury the initial Macy’s card I purchase I still have not received, says it may take up to 24hrs. Why? Still haven’t gotten it. Tried to purchase the Macy’s card to other way via Raise cash, would not process. Got a response, “Could not process, please check your account before submitting again.” Terrible! Now I can’t even log back into the app to follow up with my purchases. Great idea but it’s currently being poorly implemented. Feels more like a SCAM than a service! I’m done.

My wife bought 2 gift cards for whole foods and both failed in a pretty embarassing fashion at the in-store check out. We applied for refunds and were told to wait for up to 7 - 10 business days for the process. It has now been more than 20 days and no feedback at all... We therefore had to call the customer service - as if we have no better thing to devout our time to - and they shamelessly told us that they were aware of the problem and yet, they were still waiting a response from the gift card supplier (which is whole foods). We then were simply told that they have nothing to do and that we have to wait. With this cheap attitude how do they think their ‘business model’ could survive if they cannot even handle a glitch with their b2b partners and shift the entire risk to their customers. Cannot wait to see their situation if there is a more systemic issue stemming for example from frauds and scams... Not considering to use this platform again!

I just got off the phone with Raise😩😤🤯🤬😭😳 the woman I spoke to not only Did absolutely nothing to help me she was one of the rudest disrespectful, unhelpful and unhappy customer service reps I have ever had the displeasure of having to speak to! I am not using Raise and going to CARDCASH Because I knowTHEY ARE POLITE AND HAVE BETTER Customer SERVICE! I am completely disappointed in Raise ! I get that my account was confusing as I was trying to tell her I had a old roommate who messed with a bunch of my accounts and the customer service chick was so just mean and Ownry ... she had the nerve to tell me my name wasn’t me! I just at that point told her I was done and she didn’t have to be mean ! Raise u just lost an extremely good customer! Your customer service needs major attention and major attitude adjustment! Card cash here I come ! To the lady on the phone u really need to get whatever issues u have worked out because u sounded extremely sad and unhappy from the first word u spoke to me!
Glitchy and kept freezing :(

I’ve only been using Raise for a few months and normally it’s been a good experience but today was awful. The app was very glitchy today and so slow. It logged me out of my account and when I tried to log back in I had to restart my phone because the app kept freezing. Once I finally got back into my account and got the gift and I was trying to purchase it froze again on me. Finally I ended up paying with my regular debit card because the purchased gift card was taking a good amount of time to show up in the app. I also let me people cut in front of me in line a few times while I was messing with the app and it still didn’t get the job done. Maybe needs an update. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience next time I’m brave enough to try again.

I love to stock up on gift cards I know I’ll be using, especially when Raise has a sale! I’ve been using the app for about 3 months and saved about $75! The stores I tend to buy are: Ulta (usually 10% off), Fandango (usually 15% off), and Forever 21. Combined with Raise sales that can go up to an extra 7-9%, you can see that the savings stack up! I tend to use the gift cards on myself so I can’t say on the experience of gifting, but it’s a gift to myself!

Each time I’ve ordered from them, I’ve gotten the e-gift card with the accurate amount on it. My biggest issue with them is their claim that the e-gift card ‘Delivers Instantly’. In most cases, they deliver the e-gift card quickly, but in some instances, I’ve had to wait for hours, or up to a day to get my gift card that ‘delivered instantly’. On the orders page, they make a note that says most orders deliver right away but some may take up to 24 hours. I’m okay with that, but put that on the e-gift card listing page, instead of embedding it on the orders page, after the sale is finalized. I emailed their customer support and told them the same thing I said here...

You used to be able to search for a card and then select dollar ranges to grab specific kinds of cards. I’m not really excited to save 6% off 200 when I can save 5.9% off 25. Some times I might be, but I’d rather have that filter control back. I worry they took it away because it made it easier to compare raise cash vs the discounted cards. Either way I’m spending money on the platform - now I just feel like I’m being deceived through inconvenience. At the same time, I’ve saved about $60-$75 a month/average on this app for the last three months. Would like to continue.

I love this app for the discount on gift cards. I am a true believer of every penny counts, the reason why I use this app. Do NOT believe their advertisement “100% money back guarantee”, this is a LIE! I purchased two 5 dollar gift cards to Dunkin’ Donuts and I tried to add one of them to my Dunkin app and it said sorry already used. Yes, I only paid 4 dollars and some odd change for the card but it’s the principal. I reached out to customer service via email and I was told to reach out to Dunkin. Like what were they going to do?! So I sent another email out asking if they could just credit my account with five dollar raise cash. I was emailed back the same response, “unfortunately we can not, please contact Dunkin’ Donuts”. Long story short use this app with cautiousness.

I got the app and download it it I found one to give her up there and ordered it and I had to jump through so many hoops just to get them to actually give it to me and then suddenly my account was frozen and I had to call so I called and the guy said everything was fine it was just a little name mixup so a few days later I tried to get another card from there and it won’t let me and says my account is frozen and I have to call them..ForThe second time even though they said that it was fixed and everything was fine. In my opinion if you’re going to make an app for people please don’t do it unless you really actually know what you were doing because these people clearly do not know what they’re doing over there or are up to something.

The deals used to be better as were the daily discounts. Also until now I had never had problems but today was charged 2 times without checkout completion and now have to get my bank to refund it. Also you can’t use the in app or website contact info, when trying to send them an email from the link it only says unable to send message. And how am I supposed to have an order number to give as reference when my order didn’t go through but I was charged anyway?! It was nice while it lasted but I’m probably done with this service for good. 2 stars cause you can still save some money if they don’t charge you falsely

I bought multiple cards from this app with no problems until I ordered a physical card from Cracker Barrel. Cashier tried to run it multiple times and printed a receipt out saying it didn’t work. No prob let’s use the money back guarantee. My refund was issued. I think everything is all good and great. Now, three weeks later they are saying they are cancelling my refund (which basically means charging me again) and that Cracker Barrel basically called me a liar. Why would I lie about one card worth less than $25 and not about the $100 plus cards I got from Walmart? Because the CARD didn’t work. Now I’m set to overdraft from this new unexpected charge. Never again ordering from here or Cracker Barrel for that matter.

First time using the app, the process of purchasing was quite efficient; however, the gift card I purchased didn’t have the correct balance so I filled out the form so CS could help me with it. A week later-nothing. That’s when I started contacting support by chat. The first day, they couldn’t find an agent because it was not the right time of day. It was around noon! Someone had to be working. So I left an email with the robot so I could be contacted later. Two days later, still nothing. So I contacted through chat again. Fortunately, I finally go ahold of someone ~15 minutes later and received my refund, but WOW. That was such a long process. Not worth doing another time is the problem arises again.

Seriously? Why leave out one of the main functions of Raise?? In order to see your gift cards that are pending sale you have to log in using a web browser and you’re continuously hassled at the top of the browser to use the app!!! Yes, the poorly designed app that only wants you to use their platform to shop gift cards. If you want to keep track or view the gift cards you put up for sale you have to use a web browser. Deleting this app soon. Might as well save myself the privacy from the data you’re collecting and use mobile safari.

The app is really easy to use, and you get the gift cards almost right away. We just decided to go to Burger King, so I opened the app to check for gift cards first. I was able to find some that were 14% off! Just like that, we saved almost $2 off our trip that would normally be close to $10. I like that you can manually adjust the balance in-app (so if you have some money left over on the gift card, you will know how much is there).

I order two itunes E-gift card each worth 50 dollars. I never received my order and the email said e-gift card are usually delivered in few minutes after the order is been placed. Even after a day I didn’t receive my order. So, I contacted the support and I never received any help. Please be careful people, they charge my card and I never received my order. This is a scam app please avoid using it.

I purchased a $100 gift card 1-2years ago, and finally want to buy something from this store. When I use it, the cashier told me there s no balance inside of the card. And when I go back to raise and ask them what’s going on, they refused to solve my case, the reason is the purchase date is over one year. But when I purchased this card, there is no such plan. And gift card cannot be expired, so I just keep it until I want to use it. They also told me this:”Even though we do verify the balances of these cards before delivered to your account, we cannot guarantee you won't have an issue with a pre-owned product.” ......... very disappointed purchase

I purchased a Gift card and wasn’t able to use it. I contacted customer service over a 20 days ago and no one has responded. I used the report a problem about the card link. It said 3 days to get a response. I tried the “email us link” and got a 404 error. I used the chat and only got an automated response that said they would email customer support for me. I still haven’t received a response. So the service works great if there isn’t anything wrong with the cards. However, don’t count on them to honor the guarantee because you can’t get anyone to respond to your issues. So buy at your own risk.

I’ve attempted twice now to purchase gift cards from this app and both times my transaction has been stopped and I’ve been told to call customer service. Against my better judgement and after talking with someone else they recommended I call and resolve whatever the problem was the first time so I did but was given no explanation as to what the problem was when I called. Now the second time I have attempted to buy I got yet another message to call customer service. I value my time far more than the few dollars I will save by buying cards from this app. Definitely will not ever recommend this to anyone and highly discourage its use.

If you're going to buy something somewhere, why not check Raise first? Gift cards are as good as money and you're basically buying money for LESS money?? I'm sure this sounds like an ad but I've had a 100% great experience with Raise. I've only had issues once regarding one of my payment methods, and support was very accommodating. I've never sold a card, only purchased, but thus far I have no complaints whatsoever.

I bought a lot of gift cards from Raise several years ago and still try to use them. Unfortunately with the COVID and contactless payments, the card numbers won’t work because the fast food merchants don’t have keypads. They have scanners but these gift cards don’t have bars codes. Merchants say to use mobile apps and preorder. Phooey on that. Today I couldn’t even update the balances or delete zero balance cards. What is wrong with this app???
Issues with cards gift cards and no support

I have issues with multiple cards. One of them had balance than I bought for, and two others cannot be used. Each one is supposed to be $250, so I am concerned with how much money I can lose but trying to save a few dollars. I tried to report issues with the cards. First, they make it very difficult to do that. I am already logged in the app, but once you click “report an issue with cards”, it directs you to a web page where you have to log in again. Fine I did that, and filled in all the details, but when I clicked “submit”, the website says oops there is a problem, and I can not submit the request. Then I tried “Email Us” in the app, and the “404 page not found” window shows up. Then I tried “Chat with us” during the business hours that they listed, and nothing shows up. Now I am stuck here with multiple gifts cards that cannot be used, and concerned about hundreds of dollars lost by using Raise.

I have encountered problems with purchasing electronic gift cards, verifying the balances only to find that they have a zero balance when I attempt to redeem them. I lost out on several hundred dollars recently when I was told by Raise that several cards I’d purchased from different sellers (according to them) had been used in the same location in store—somewhere I’d never set foot. They refused to honor guarantee because the cards I’d purchased 3 months prior were “in my possession” at the time of redemption. Their guarantee does not cover unscrupulous sellers and merchants don’t cover cards bought via a third party, so I was basically screwed and I no longer use this service.

I have been a buyer over 5 years they do have great customer service and will guarantee their cards if within the year. I have saved so much money with them. Yes I have gotten a card that had a zero balance that they had no problem refunding me, this may be because there r dishonest people who use stolen credit cards to purchase the cards (that was the reason in my case).

The idea of saving money through purchasing discounted gift cards is incredible. The instant delivery is amazing in theory, though at times the gift cards deliveries take a while. It could take hours depending on the gift card chosen even if it says delivers instantly. If dining at a restaurant, make sure to purchase your gift card before you arrive to ensure that you have it before having to pay. Delivery time needs work but otherwise, it’s a great way to save money!

I purchased $750 worth of Airbnb gift cards to pay the balance on an upcoming trip. They were not valid, and Raise did not respond within the week. (I tried calling, the chat feature, and email.) I disputed the charge on my credit card, which finally prompted a response of ‘You need to work it out with Airbnb.’ Um, no, if you’re selling a product, *you* need to make sure it’s valid. I reached out to Airbnb anyway, and of course their answer was they only support gift cards purchased directly from them. Raise is not worth the small amount of money you save - if there’s an issue, you have quite the fight in front of you.

Scammed. I thought it was safe because I purchased multiple gift cards without a problem. I bought a gift card for jcpenney and tried to redeem it but it had a zero balance. I submitted an inquiry on 7/25. By 8/28, I still had heard nothing back. When I called customer service I was told they responded on 8/17. I had no email from them and the status on the website still showed pending. They said JC Penney told them that an account associated with my personal information had used the card, but refused to provide any further details saying if I brought proof from JC Penney they would reconsider. So much for their guarantee.

Like so many other reviews on, my customer service experience has been a nightmare. I had about $150 in gift cards from a store when they updated their system. The updates were a good thing as it made the check out process faster and worked better with the app. Unfortunately, this made my gift cards not work. I’ve now tried a half-dozen times to get customer service to refund the $150. I’ll get into a bot chat and it will say it’s connecting me with a customer service rep, which ends up being another bot. I’ve sent multiple emails only to have the same canned, generic response and no follow up. Saving 10% on a purchase isn’t worth it the second you have any sort of issue. Even worse, just to find out where to make a return request is so buried in the website it’s a hassle just to start the process. Great idea, absolutely terrible customer service. Beware.

This app had saved me well over $500 just make sure to recheck the balence when u purchase however I’ve never had this problem that other reviews seem to have just stick to the digital cards people only seem to have issues with sellers mailing them physical cards which makes sense would take much longer

Every time I try to use the app, I get a server error (on Raise’s end) and cannot log in. I’ve had no issue with the website or with Raise. A few years ago, I purchased a DSW gift card that was reported as fraudulent. Thankfully DSW honored it. I contacted customer service and told them of the fraud issue, but the rep didn’t seem to care. I didn’t want my money back or anything...just figured I’d make them aware in case they received other fraudulent gift cards from a batch or something. Anyway, I’m rating the app as one star since I can’t use it for searching and purchasing new gift cards.

I am editing a previous review I had, after experiencing an issue and struggling to reach customer service, I have been contacted and the issue was resolved relatively quickly. I’m actually impressed at how quickly they resolved it once I finally got in touch with a person. That being said, their automated response bot is still awful, but the app itself is great. I’ve saved over $200 in a year. Great discounts.

I just downloaded the a few days ago and was anticipating my first purchase. We needed a recirculating hot water pump for the house and I found one at Lowe’s. Raise had been sending offers to my email, so I thought why not try to get a $200 gift card to save a little money. I transaction went extremely smooth and I was so happy and proud of myself that I shared my experience with several coworkers. But not even 10 minutes went by and I received a cancellation notice. The explanation was vague, something about an internal server error. Needless to say my very first experience was a disappointment.

My experience with Raise has been great so far, all my discounted gift cards I bought came with the exact balance in them. I had one instance where I was double charged due to an error at check out but luckily, Raise’s customer service helped me get my refund back on the accidental purchase! Will be buying many more cards in the future.

I went to Raise website during a sale and the items in my cart did not reserve, so another customer bought one of my reserved items, but the website did remove or indicate which card was no longer available. So I went to app and it worked flawlessly.

The cards doesn’t work and when you call them they say it’s been used already I purchased a $100 card and was trying to use it 4-5 times in different purchases and locations, which the card was not working and I was under impression that I was doing something wrong (didn’t knew than the card was not working) So finally I reached out to Raise Cust care where they said that the 1 year period is completed so they can only refund back 10% of the amount for which I said NO I don’t want it, they can keep the amount. Very frustrating *

Years ago legislation was passed making it illegal for a company which has sold gift cards to put an expiration date on it. The giftcard must be accepted no matter how much time has passed. The reason is that the gift card is money. It's legal tender. Just as money has no expiration date, gift cards as well have no expiration date. It doesn't matter if the company policy says their gift cards will expire, it's completely illegal. Developers, please do some research into this matter and you'll find the truth in my my statement. It's the law. If you don't honor gift cards, no matter how long it's taken someone to use it, you are doing something illegal, and unless you change that policy, you're risking lawsuits and the ruination of your business. The money paid for the gift cards never expires, and neither do the gift cards which represent that money.

I’ve attempted to purchase an Adidas giftcard with a coupon and for some reason the transaction was cancelled requesting Further identification. I was asked to send a photo ID and a photo of my credit card. I’ve sent a photo of my Passport and a photo of my credit card and they claim a USA passport is NOT sufficient ID (US Passport mind you) and after 3 days of hassles they refuse to provide the giftcard even though my card was already Debited for the full amount. They deny cards being purchased with Coupons! Do not deal with this company! Still haven’t been credited the $164 for the transaction. Total rip off
Why does the app kick me to the Website?

I’m trying to sell a card and once I select “Sell a Card” in the app, Safari launches then asking me to install the app. I tried using Safari to complete my profile and add a card but only received errors or non-response on the website. It seems like the app would be used for this action. Maybe a popup blocker that I have on Safari interferes, but that is also why it makes more sense to keep users in the app.

Since the 3.11 update went out a week ago, the app has stopped working. When I go to open the raise app, it flashes for a second and then shuts down completely. I’ve already tried wiping out the cache, even uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but I’m still getting the same result. To make matters more difficult, there is no response from the email I sent a week ago, no direct contact phone number, and no way to revert to the previous version. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!

I’ve had several transactions seemingly not go through due to “card error” or “check with your bank error” only to receive confirmation email that it worked and I was charged. I’ve only ever done the lower dollar amount purchases for restaurants, but glitches like that make me real hesitant to get a larger dollar amount. Other times it works great. Deals lately have been rather disappointing though. No more than 2%.

Love the app for buying discounted gift cards but they keep freezing my accounts. I made a second one since my first one was frozen for no reason and the second the same thing happened! I had to make a third, Hoping they don’t freeze it. Sometimes the payment doesn’t go through for a couple of days so you don’t get the gift card right away which is frustrating if you need it the same day.

So often you get a gift card as a gift but most likely aren’t going to use it it’s nice to know there is an option of having it converted to cash & even though there’s a small fee... money is money! Not to mention who doesn’t want to get a gift card that costs less than it’s worth... like I said, brilliant idea
Perpetual problems

Used to love this app. Over the last year or so I continually get error messages stating there’s a server error on their part which they are trying to fix so I can’t even get in. On top of that, on the occasions I have been able to get in there are issues with it not being able to process my order at checkout even though the card I use is perfectly fine. I have switched to Gift Card Granny due to sheer frustration with Raise. Raise has lost out on bunches of business from me, and I don’t recommend it to anyone anymore. Gah!
