App is awful
by Ntynda on 2019/12/11 15:15
This only base 5 stars so this review is seen. However, this app is so awful that it’s mostly useless. I cannot pause, ff, or rewind anything. I can’t access any project downloads. I can’t even go to the teacher’s main page to scan all the videos. I have to use the desktop site to do all of those things. Fix your app for goodness sake. It’s been this way for far too long.
Resourceful and Affordable

It’s a place I can find everything I need in exact portions and as claimed. Technology used behind the application is robust and user friendly.

I heard of skill share on a YouTube video and thought that this would help my improve my artistic skills. I was supper excited to start except every time I press on a video, it doesn’t load. I thought maybe and update would help but it still does the same thing. I’m very disappointed and I’m hoping I could get it fixed
I LOOOOVE THIS APP!!
by Nicfit on 2019/12/07 07:32
If I could give it 10 stars I would. I just wish I had more time to devote to all the projects I’m interested in taking. Skillshare is a true obsession. 💗💗💗
Unable to download courses recently
by Mr.Haboubi1988 on 2019/12/07 03:22
Last two updates i’ve been unable to download courses for offline use. When i turn the option for downloading a course it immediately goes to already downloaded list but not actually downloaded at all. :( Please fix this! I need offline access otherwise i won’t renew my subscription. Edit: thanks for fixing it! It works perfectly now!
Don’t download. They take your money!
by gskaines on 2019/12/06 17:04
A couple of days ago I signed up for the month “FREE TRIAL”. In the agreement section is specifically states that they will NOT charge you until the trial period is over if you don’t cancel the membership. Within minutes of signing up, I got an alert from my bank, I already had a charge for the first month. I contacted costumer service, they asked for screen shots of where it stated it was a free month trial. This sounded fishy but I sent them the screenshots, the representative replied saying that because it was through the app, that they could not refund my money even though I was on a free trial period. This company is in the business of taking your money and giving you excuses as to why they wont refund it. This is completely wrong and false advertising. Do NOT download this app!!!

Offline viewing is nonexistent
by Rando194$2 on 2019/11/30 20:02
I love the service on Skillshare, and I always look forward to taking classes. The problem I have is that I could not get the offline viewing to work. I tried it on my phone, my iPad, and my husband’s phone and it didn’t work on any device. It was frustrating because I was taking a long trip and I wanted to use my long flight productively, so I downloaded three courses, and when I was on my flight, I tried to watch them, none of them would load. I tried to access them offline once we landed, and I was still unable to access them. I tried everything; Google had no answers, I tried to see if updating would help but it didn’t, and the Skillshare website wasn’t helpful either. I would rate the app higher if this feature they advertise worked. I pay for this service, and it’s frustrating that they advertise this feature that doesn’t work.

I paid for a year of premium Skillshare and was using it happily for a while. My account stopped working for some unknown reason and I cannot regain access. I have reached out to support a couple times over the past few weeks and they keep ignoring me. At this point I have paid for a month I have not been able to use. This is unacceptable.

Good not great
by Tony Samaniego on 2019/11/14 21:53
When you increase the playback speed for a video through the app and desktop browser, the video either glitches where the audio and video become misaligned (and we all know how annoying and sometimes confusing that may be), or the audio stops playing completely while the video continues to play. Also, there should be more options through the app to explore new categories and topics besides the search option and the ‘best in’ section. I like you can look at similar video related to course you are taking in the ‘about’ tab but they should recommend more than just three videos. Overall, I think they should adopt a system like Audible where it’s recommendations for books related to the one you clicked on are pretty spot on.
Needs a Roku app
by Conticreative on 2019/11/10 23:21
The iOS app is ok but what is really needed, and not just for Skillshare but for all learning apps, is for them to be available on Roku or similar devices. I can hook up my laptop to my TV, which is OK, but then I am taking up two devices and I have to use an older laptop to follow programming excercises or any tutorial where using a computer is necessary. I’ll change my rating to 5 stars the moment a Roku app is available.

by Adabewbs on 2019/11/07 07:11
I canceled my account along time ago suddenly months later the account was reopened and they have been taking money from my bank for months. When I inquired I got one email saying it was no refundable I tried to show proof of canceling... never got a reply... tried to access the account for 2 whole days of changing my password and emailing them no one would get back to me. Finally I was able to get in and cancel. Horrible company not even real teachers not worth your time STAY AWAY.

Upsetting
by LaylaO's on 2019/11/02 16:01
It’s a great app and I’m very happy to get free month trials, but I found I wasn’t using it enough for the price. So I set a date on the calendar so I could cancel it 5-10 days before the free trial ended. I went to their website and cancelled as instructed. It said clearly that it was canceled and there would be no billing. Well now it says I just payed $99 dollars for a yearly subscription!!! Which is crazy. I didn’t go on the app ,watch the app, in fact I deleted it. That way just in case I clicked and they thought I was using it. But still it charged. And now the refund process is one big overcomplicated annoying mess. 😪

Simply Perfect
by Langdon15 on 2019/10/22 05:14
From the content on the app to the way the app works, it’s amazing, I can’t complain. Everything I’ve wanted to learn is here with multiple classes to choose from and the fact that you can listen whether or not your on the app is amazing for listening on the go (for things that don’t require a visual). I recommend this app to all my friends. Truly, I have no other ways of saying this purchase was worth it.

love skillshare but app is missing features
by inexplicable porcupine on 2019/10/20 09:19
I love skillshare but the app is missing a lot of features. You can’t add classes to a playlist except for “all saved classes.” You can’t see your full profile, only the projects and published classes sections. You can’t upload a project to a class. You can’t see details of class resources. The app needs these features, in my opinion.
Learning to paint
by Traveller61 on 2019/10/18 21:53
I decided to dabble in watercolor painting and heard about Skillshare. There are tons of classes to choose from and I’m really enjoying learning at my own pace. This is a very convenient way to “take classes.”
I love it but don’t go for 2 months free trial.
by TeTe715 on 2019/10/18 12:32
I download this app for 2 months free trial.During that I really enjoyed and love it until I noticed it took my money during that 2 months free trial. They tooked $98.00 out of it. I have requested a refund and still no answer. There’s no phone number to contact nor address. This just a bad service to deal with 😤

Be aware you’re signing up for a $141 bill
by grumpyarcher on 2019/10/12 01:19
To be honest, I didn’t know I’d signed up for this until I saw the bill (and the overdraft fees) from the bank. I downloaded a couple education apps, this one didn’t even fully download, partly from lack of space on my phone, partly because I was traveling for work. Deleted the queued download, moved on with my life... until I came home to a $-300 status on my account, because of overdraft fee on top of overdraft fee. You can’t cancel your subscription through Apple’s subscription services. You can’t unsubscribe through their app. Save yourself the bill. Use Google and YouTube. Both are free.
Reviewing App not Platform
by MainelyArt on 2019/10/11 11:52
I love Skillshare and I have no issues at all with the Skillshare platform. The only issue I have with the app is that I cannot look at or download the class materials on the app or upload my work from the app. This is particularly annoying when the only method I have for photographing my art is my phone or my iPad and I feel like it would be more usable if I could upload directly from that device via the app versus having to email myself the photo and upload it from my computer. This is particularly painful for me because I have satellite Internet on my computer where is on my phone I have unlimited data. Perhaps I have the opposite problem of most people but I live in the wilds of Maine and there is no broadband. Otherwise the app is very convenient and I quite enjoy just watching the classes but I’m waiting in the car somewhere and can’t even do the projects. It’s a good practice to watch the prep classes before you start the project anyway. Great app and I hope that they will consider allowing uploads and downloads within the app.
Subtitles
by emilyfamilia on 2019/10/09 16:17
Can you please add subtitles, sometimes i don't understand what the teacher is saying, subtitles will save me time, i have to go back again and again.
Skillshare is Awesome. I highly recommend it!
by Emma Matrixa on 2019/10/08 11:32
I’ve tried some other learning apps and there always seems to be something missing. Some are just poorly designed, others have substandard instructors or some other malfunction. I will admit though, that I haven’t tried them all and there are some good ones too. One that that comes to my mind, gives lectures on topics like history, philosophy, physics and stuff like that. But when it comes to learning skills, i have to say that Skillshare is absolutely the best. It easy to navigate and find classes on topics you want to learn. The instructors that I’ve seen here are very good and clear and you get a lot of information without a bunch of yapping involved, so you can learn any skill very fast. After watching classes here, I get a sense of satisfaction, because I feel I’ve acquired practical knowledge and application, instead of feeling hanging in an overload of fractured information. Skillshare has a monthly subscription, which is very moderately priced. For me, if there ever was a reason and justification to subscribe to anything, it would definitely be with Skillshare. I absolutely recommend it.
Great companion app to an awesome platform!
by Avaron252 on 2019/10/07 13:27

Video controls appear over video
by Special_unicorn1 on 2019/10/06 03:49
Video controls appear thru the entire video. Find it distracting with the play controls constantly on screen. Appears in both the small video player and full screen, and in both orientations. Play icons usually disappear after a few secs on most video apps. iPhone 7+, iOS 12.4

Something for everyone
by Gregory Raspitin on 2019/10/05 02:34
Skillshare offers courses ranging from basic to complex, and most everything in between. Like all educational opportunities, the instructor and instruction levels vary greatly, but a little research will land the right courses for you. Many courses offered on Skillshare are available at much higher prices (and most are genuinely worth the price asked) on other online platforms. Skillshare’s annual cost plan simply can’t be beat for the value received.

Love The Content!
by Cassandra64 on 2019/09/28 14:35
I love Skillshare and their top notch classes on a huge variety of topics. The teachers are excellent too. I have learned so much through Skillshare. Best tutorial subscription service out there by far. I wish the app was better. They recently updated it and improved searchability and navigation, but it’s still wonky. You can’t download class resources from the app. You have to go to Skillshare.com - which is not a huge deal, but that’s the sort of thing that makes the app klunky. The app won’t preclude me from being a happy Skillshare subscribe. This app just stands in stark contrast to the rest of their business model, which continues to exceed my expectations.
Really encouraging to learn many and vast amount of knowledge

I love Skillshare
by PRaile on 2019/09/26 18:31
The monthly cost of Skillshare is well worth the content provided. I have taken many, many courses and find everything helpful.
Poor membership policy
by cipixel on 2019/09/25 16:55
As a professional photographer an amateur acrylic artist I found that some of the tutorials we’re very unprofessional. There are also very professional tutorials. It seems like Skillshare will let anyone sign up as a teacher. Furthermore, when I cancelled my membership, Skillshare’s policy is no pro rated refunds like most other tutoring sites. So I’m out $99 after a month of trial. Be aware of their membership policies.
Glitching
by JjhabfijbVc on 2019/09/25 01:04
Weird glitch where during a video almost very 10 seconds, the playback menu overlay graphics appear over the video (rewind 10, pause, and fast-forward 10). It’s like a ghost is tapping my phone screen. Driving me insane.
Learning with Skillshare is Great
by bettywhitedog on 2019/09/23 20:38
I've been signed up with Skillshare for a few months and I've had a great experience of learning many different wonderful styles of art work. The teachers are people who make they're living doing art, and they share their knowledge with students. It's very worthwhile. I first heard about Skillshare from a couple of artists I watch on YouTube, Art Ala Carte and Baylee Jae.
Love Skillshare, but the app not so much...
by kaszy86 on 2019/09/21 01:57
Disclaimer: this review is for the app only, not the platform. Sadly the last update, which claims to have fixed issues with the video controls, actually broke this functionality for my device as now video controls keep overlaying every 30 seconds or so. Is not impossible to continue watching classes like this but it is pretty annoying, especially for lessons involving color mixing as the overlay dims the screen. In future releases, I’d also love to see the same functionality for managing and adding classes to my lists that the web version provides. Profile section needs improvement too as, again, the app doesn’t provide same experience as the website.
Organized instructions
by Linda Leeper on 2019/09/19 12:54
The Skillshare courses and organized sequentially and easy to search for and find the skill in which your u are interested. Most of the information is on YouTube as well but there things are not organized and are pretty random. Skillshare is well worth the cost with excellent instruction at all levels of experience and interests.

Videos Unwatchable

I’m self-led and find immeasurable joy in the learning of new skills. Skillshare has become one of the many tools in my “Unschooling toolbox” that allows me to bring the resources and mentoring right into my living room, day or night. Thank you Skillshare. Pretty good info! Love it! It would be a great idea if they put content with close caption in Spanish. Thanks!

In terms of app functionality, there are a few things lacking here (search filters!). Otherwise it works perfectly functionally, so I have no noteworthy complaints. That said if you’re on the fence about signing up for a Skillshare account, just do it. I’m the cheapest person I know and after a free trial through SciShow, am gladly paying for a subscription. It is infinitely useful and some of the skills I’ve learned here have paid for my subscription hundreds of time over. It is seriously saturated with content though, so it’s up to you to choose the right classes.
Was great, but what happened?
by gngrdnn on 2019/08/12 12:05
Loved this app — but now it no longer shows new/trending classes. REALLY miss this feature! Also it has begun lagging and locking up. Was my favorite app, but am considering cancelling my subscription. Very disappointed!

AMAZING RESOURCE!!!
by Joseli on 2019/08/09 07:15
Wether you’re looking to improved a particular skill or learn a new one, SkillShare is definitely the place to go. There’s nothing they don’t have a class for. I’m completely addicted and my art and business both have improved because of SS. Best thing is with the app, anywhere you are becomes a virtual classroom! I take, at the minimum, one class a week and anyone can do the same. Thank you,SkillShare...you guys rock!
Just a little lacking
by Adriane0412 on 2019/03/13 15:00
I like the idea of Skillshare-the class content is great and constantly evolving, the amount of videos and topics is almost overwhelming lol..the app could use some work. I have tons of saved classes and no way to sort through them. Also, I would REALLY like a functional Roku TV app. I hate streaming from my phone and watching it on there-I have incredibly bad vision and watching things on my phone screen (which is an iPhone plus, so not the smallest screen) puts a lot of strain on my eyes. I was able to find a free screen mirroring service to stream to my Roku but it wasn’t the easiest to use and was loaded with ads. My free trial will be up in the beginning of April and I would really like to sign up for an annual subscription but I just can’t justify the cost for something I can’t stream directly to my tv, limiting my ability to really use the service. As of now I have probably 50 classes saved to my list and have only been able to watch maybe 5 of them since I signed up in January, because as I said, the strain on my eyes is too much. Please add a Roku TV app or the ability to mirror directly from the Skillshare app to any tv!
Good but wish it was better
by Nikohatesthisapp on 2019/02/15 18:16
The content is amazing and I’m learning so much but for $15/month I should be able to cast it to my tv and watch the videos anywhere I want. It’s crazy to me that for a product with so many helpful tip videos the app has such a poor user experience. I can’t edit my lists in the app there isn’t a very clean way within the app to organize the classes I want to watch which seems a shame with something with so much content and more coming everyday there’s not a good way to really sift through it all. The app almost seems like it’s designed to be a one off kind of thing like use the free trial and be done there’s no incentive to keep it long term because it doesn’t make it easily accessible long term. If I want to watch 15-20 different classes there’s no way to find the one I want besides sifting through my watch later list. It’s sad that the website is the only way to manage your content like what’s the point of even having the app if it’s just completely inferior to the website in every way. I want to be able to cast to my tv and organize my classes it really doesn’t seem like a whole lot to ask if I’m paying a premium price for content in 2019 it’s not like the service is free. I mean I pay less for Netflix/Hulu and I can cast with both of those. All in all great content dumb app? Maybe the developers of the app can watch a video on Skillshare about app design?
Worst Apple TV App
by M. Deier. on 2019/02/18 15:58
I’ve been a subscriber on and off for a few years. The teachers, teaching and video quality, and overall content is pretty good and constantly improving. Which is great. I wish I could give a better rating, but the app itself is the problem. The app on the iPhone and iPad is limiting. And it is THE WORST App on my Apple TV. I can’t see all my saved videos and whenever I try to “enroll”, the app crashes. And why do you have to enroll on the Apple TV when you don’t need to on any other device? In order to “enroll” in a class, I need to watch a few episodes on my iOS device and then sometimes it’ll appear on my Apple TV. I don’t want to have to do that and I shouldn’t. I’ve been dealing with this for months and no update. And yes, I’ve closed the app, made sure everything is up to date, restarted the Apple TV, uninstalled and reinstalled. Sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse. I know it’s the App and not user or the device error. Please fix this problem. It’s aggravating. I never fill out reviews of Apps on the App Store, but this is so bad, I felt I needed to.
Website’s great .. app is kind of ‘meh’
by thebaarmancrew on 2019/01/30 02:18
I love the website & use it all the time .. sometimes even when I’m trying to use the app, I’ll just stop between videos & go back to the website. Part of the problem is organization. From what I can see, all those handy class lists that you can save to on the website (& can SEE on the app), you can’t actually save new classes to lists on the app .. you only have ‘save’ & ‘unsave’ options which is a real pain when you have a bunch of classes & then have to scroll thro the whole lot of them in order to save it to an individual list .. & this can still only be done from the website .. so if you don’t go straight over to it from the app, you may or may not ever remember to go in & look for it later in the myriad of classes you have saved. The idea of it is really great, I just think the organization of it needs to be increased dramatically in order to make it user-friendly.
App is a little buggy.
by oddacity on 2019/05/25 23:53
I’m a Skillshare subscriber and have used it on desktop, tablet, and mobile. The content is A+ and I would recommended a subscription to anyone interested in having a wide variety of fun and interesting classes at their fingertips. I’m giving 4 stars out of 5 because the app itself is a bit buggy and non-intuitive - buttons don’t always work, some button layouts are confusing. Particularly the “about” section in classes. Also the class project feature doesn’t work. It would be great if they could fix this and make it as full-featured as the desktop version.
Great videos but app needs a lot of work
by rneal98310 on 2019/02/18 00:00
I recently downloaded this app for my Apple TV and signed up for the 30 day trial of premium membership. When I open the app I was excited to see the number of videos and content available on the site. However every time I went to enroll in one of the classes the app crashed and sent me back to the home screen. I then went on my home computer and iPad to see if I can enroll there and then play the videos on my Apple TV. There doesn’t seem to be an enroll option on the website itself you can play all the video there directly. With Apple TV app it locks out all the videos except the intro into you enroll in the class which can only be done through the app. I went to see if there were any updates to the app that I could download but was informed I had the latest version. I will be canceling the subscription before the month is over if these issues are not resolved.
Love being able to learn on the go
by modnana2 on 2019/07/15 01:29
I signed up for Skillshare via the website and then downloaded the app so I could learn what I’d like any time, anywhere. Although not as robust and fully featured as the desktop site, I’m pretty happy with the app itself. I do agree that if I could sort classes I’ve saved by topic, it would really be helpful. When the new IPadOS is available publicly, Safari will be a full fledged desktop class browser so it will be really nice to access those features you can only access right now via the desktop site, i.e. class downloads, etc. In the meantime, I love the variety of classes available on Skillshare and feel the instructors do a great job with their content. Nicely done!
Love the website but the app needs works
by Tae. Tea on 2019/01/25 12:44
I love using Skillshare but the app is a little messy in my opinion. There are no descriptions in the app telling you about the class you’re going to take. The website has them and I’m able to get a sense of what is being taught. Also just a small suggestion for both the app and website if there could be a better way to sort and organize the courses one has saved or put into lists instead of just scrolling through your saved tab to find a class or in the lists you can do more than “send to the top”. We can be able to organize and categorize them a lot better please. Maybe by “a-z”, or group them by skill such as organize them by photography, illustration and so forth or let the user freely move, slide and organize them the way they want

Needs a lot of improvement
by SloshWerks on 2019/07/09 02:09
It is nice having this app available for iPad and Apple TV, however, it really lacks features that should be basic. There is no search function. It does not show all classes you have saved. You cannot remove classes via the app. It does not have the option to autoplay the next video in the class, which is annoying when some video chapters are only a minute or two in length. You are constantly tied to your remote to start the next video. That is probably my biggest problem with the app. But, I also want to have access to all of the classes and Lists that I set up on the website, which the app does not provide. So, I am relegated to streaming from Safari on my iPad and mirroring it to the Apple TV.
Great way to learn new skills and explore creativity
by KillerTofuTina on 2019/05/06 14:49
I’ve been using this service to learn how to use Procreate on iPad and the classes are absolutely amazing. Not only did I get introduced to artists like Vashti Harrison but I reconnected with my creative side again. My only request is that you allow for Picture in Picture video playback on iPad. Sometimes I’m watching a video and I would like to exit the app to try out a technique in Procreate without stopping the video but currently this isn’t possible, at least not that I know of. Please keep updating the app and adding new features as this is how I primarily use the service and I rarely go to the website.
One of the best experiences I’ve had
by KittySpirit1 on 2018/12/08 22:07
Not only are the classes diverse, thorough, and fun to learn with, but Skillshare’s customer service is AMAZING. I accidentally purchased a monthly subscription without meaning to and they got back to me in less than 12 hours. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a full refund for a subscription payment from any service before, but Skillshare has blown me away! I would highly recommend both the experience Skillshare provides and the comfort of knowing you’re in safe hands. I’m definitely going to purchase an annual sub when I get the opportunity!
Fix the app!!
by 00ndrea00 on 2019/04/29 17:14
Ever since the update I can’t open Skillshare at all, just crashes before the home screen even shows up!! And no way to contact Skillshare via phone. The web version is great but I don’t have WiFi so I need to have my classes downloaded. Please fix soon, and get a help line. Update: upgraded to 3 stars because I was able to get the app working after deleting it and redownloading it. Now I have to download all my saved classes again. So if you had the same problem with the app crash, you can try downloading the app over again. However, going into your saved classes and clicking on the menu to download or remove the class also crashes the app.
For $13 a month, the app needs some work...
by Roosevelt14 on 2018/12/14 04:12
Overall, a decent and usable app for watching the course videos. However, some things could definitely be improved. One overall thing that’s lacking in the app is continuity. The website is noticeably more robust than the app. My first and foremost gripe, the lack of speed control. The lack of this feature inherently makes me prefer using a computer to access Skillshare as most of the time I like the lessons to be set to 2x speed. However, while I prefer using the computer I can’t always (nor do I always want to) whip out my laptop and use Skillshare for 15-20 minutes. The second issue, which is just a minor design flaw is that the categories button in the Discover tab should have the sub menus of the categories laid out on the same page. It shouldn’t take 2 separate clicks IMO. Finally, the rotation. It’s just a bit annoying how the video player will only do landscape orientation in one direction. Additionally, the app itself doesn’t have a landscape mode at all while browsing the courses.

I have been doing surface pattern design for 2.5 years as a self taught artist. Finding the Bonnie Christine videos, has pushed me a little further and taught me a few new things that I didn’t know before. I am all about self teaching myself everything. Skillshare is a way that you can learn on the go, at home, waiting for carpool (stay at home mom) and run a successful thriving business! I recommend their videos for anyone with a drive for personal and business success without having to have a college degree in any of it! Great product and business they have!
The worst customer support I’ve ever experienced
by Mooshroom3 on 2019/07/26 21:35
I got the 6 month trials a while ago, got charged $99 at the end of it and they gave me my money back when I requested a refund and they told me I won’t ever be charged again. Fast forward 3 weeks ago I mysteriously get charged $99 again even though I didn’t even sign up for it. So I send in a ticket again like the first time, a lady said that the senior support team would be in contact with me but never heard from customer support again. I sent another ticket and within an hour it says solved even though they didn’t even help me. I’m looking for someone to talk to but it looks like no one from customer support has the time to help their clients and just completely ignore them. I want to talk to someone from Skillshare and my money back.

by funkychickn on 2019/01/25 20:51
There are very few subscription-type services that I can get behind, but this...this is amazing! There are some really dedicated and willing people on this platform that truly want you to success and better your self. This is WAY CHEAPER than considering taking all these courses individually somewhere in person. Plus you can do this at your own pace, in your own comfort zone. I guarantee there are classes on here that you didn’t know you wanted to take until you saw it!! Try it out. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Love love love love it!
Being charged every month without access to premium
by spartch on 2019/05/31 21:51
I am super frustrated. I have been paying for a premium membership since January. I unfortunately haven’t had the time to use the app since I started my membership. So when I logged in the other day I wasn't aware I don’t actually have access to premium even though I’ve been paying for. I have apple receipts, a premium membership indication under “subscriptions” in my Apple ID, bank statements etc. to prove I have been paying. I contacted skillshare support about this issue. They have been super slow in their responses and have given me no resolution to this issue. I have waited nearly a week to hear back from them and still nothing. I am super frustrated and don’t understand how this could happen. Be careful!
Learning whatever I desire, WHEN I desire to!
by Herztuff on 2019/08/02 00:27
I decided out of the blue that I wanted to learn how to draw and animate, because I was looking for a new creative outlet. I addictively sat for HOURS in front of my laptop with my sketch pad, watching characters take shape that were recognizable manga/anime style, only after a few lessons. In one day. I can’t wait to check out more classes and art forms! I’m also an entrepreneur, who needs guidance DESPERATELY, so that’s next! Maybe. I also want to be a filmmaker, so maybe THATS next. I’m excited. The end.
Content is wonderful...app is a bit limited
by hi its me making a review on 2019/05/24 15:51
I just want to preface this by saying I love the content and the classes from Skillshare. It’s great. I’m learning so much. However, when I use Skillshare‘s app, it is lacking. For example, I cannot see all of an instructor’s classes, only a handful. This is resolved by going to the website. I cannot leave reviews for classes I have completed. This is resolved by going to the website. I also wish I could create lists of courses that include more than two classes or the main list which has everything I saved.
Upsetting
by LaylaO's on 2019/11/02 16:01
It’s a great app and I’m very happy to get free month trials, but I found I wasn’t using it enough for the price. 😪

I believe Skill Share can be utilized as a Professional Teaching Tool to enable multiple disciplines the ability to learn new skills and improve or build upon the current skill sets by watching others share how they grew their skill development. I am a teacher and hope to use Skill Share as a research tool to build analytical and technological techniques and processes that will allow students to engage and communicate in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

by Lujain arti on 2019/01/17 22:34
I am not allowed to do anything except if I have premium access and I don’t want to buy the premium subscription but it doesn’t let me click on a single class I really think this app is amazing and helps a lot of people but I just don’t want the premium access but I still want the classes so you’re forced to buy A subscription to get classes in my opinion that is a scam and without any classes or any learning the app is completely useless I wish you could let me click on some classes not even all of them just some of them without a premium access that would make the app 10 times better

I love this service and the app. Makes it super easy for me to watch the content from anywhere in the world. I also love the background play feature as well. I’ve had a hard time accessing project files and uploading projects from the app; maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. I have been having to go to the desktop web version to get the app files and submit projects. However, it’s a great app and I highly recommend it.
Saved me from a mid life crisis burnout!
by Jenny Beeeee on 2019/07/02 02:31
I found Skillshare when I was stressed, bored, and exhausted from being a working mom in a high stress job. Skillshare has allowed me to spend some quality “me” time developing my illustrating skills after the kids go to bed. I can take a 10 minute class, 90 minute class, whatever I feel up to at that moment. Over the past few months, I’ve watched my skill improve and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Love the app! Could improve a little though.
by aaveryjordann on 2019/04/22 12:40
Absolutely love this app and platform! I’ve improved and learned so much about my craft, I may start teaching on Skillshare! This platform is amazing! The all however could use some improvements, I love the fact that you can download classes to watch offline. However, I don’t love that you can’t access the about section of the class page from the app. You have to go online to do so.

It’s great! Hope they expand!
by Taira S on 2019/02/16 15:10
Tried this out for a little while and thought it had a lot of easy to follow classes, a fairly easy to use app layout, and a great concept. Classes are added all the time so I hope they expand and add more topics for more languages, different art mediums, etc. But I really wanted to write a review to say their customer service and support are really fast and friendly! I had a little problem with my account it was resolved almost immediately!
Love the classes but...
by Bellatrix Andrasta on 2019/03/25 15:45
I love the classes they have and I have learned a lot. However, my only problem is why have a rewind option if everytime you use it the video freezes. This happenes often and get really annoying and aggravating. It does this reguardless if it the app or the browser. The only place it seems to not have this problem all that often is my phone but my phone is small compared to my tablet. If Skillshare can fix this freezing problem I’d love this app and would give it 5 stars.
Who Knew??
by @brittaaanyjoyner on 2019/02/15 10:59
Who knew I could learn graphic design online for free?!?!?! I can tell you that until last it wasn’t me! I am so excited about this opportunity and the content I am learning. The quality of the videos I’ve seen so far are great and the speaker I’m listening to now also does a great job at explaining and teaching the content. And the great part is that I can have this quality of education and it’s free!
Skillshare is getting me back in the art game
by MHanlon_art on 2019/01/11 21:17
I’m a stay at home mama of twins, still in the toddler stage. Before kids, I was a school teacher. Before that, I was an artist. I never lost my love of art, but my skills need some brushing up, and my subjects need broadening. Skillshare allows me to learn from home, from a variety of teachers. The few classes I have taken have given many times more value to me than the money I have paid.
I want access to class materials
by Meerrrt on 2019/07/07 15:09
The app is very intuitive and provides users with a good on-the-go experience. Still, even though all lessons are available, you can’t access any student projects or class materials (PDFs, etc) from it. I strongly recommend enabling this section on mobile apps too since nowadays there are a lot of e-readers and apps for viewing PDFs (no need to download on phone, but it’d be great if we’d be able to view). Great work so far! Thanks!
Great service but app could use changes
by Futura K on 2019/02/26 12:21
Great, truly but I wish there was better organization and search for the videos you’ve saved or downloaded. I have over 400 videos saved for a range of topics and trying to find what class or video I want is a pain. That aside, I’m am getting value and I’m so happy. Classes are generally short, concise and I’m completing the end result very quickly instead of weeks like typical classes, which feels really good. Thanks Skillshare!
Amazing
by Lanceg02 on 2019/07/15 16:37
This app is amazing and i love it! I was a subscriber for a few months during summer but when school started back i had no time for it. I sent a message asking to deactivate my account, and in the same day 30 minutes later, they responded and deactivated it. Best customer service i have ever experienced! They even contact you to say that your subscription renewal didnt work! 10/10
I like the idea of this but....
by Bethlehem26 on 2019/03/21 04:00
I have great difficulty streaming videos from Skillshare. I have not had the same sort of issues with other video streaming apps I use, or I would think it was just my service. I can’t get through more than 20-40 seconds at a time without having to break for buffering and about 15 to 20 seconds in video either freezes or cuts out completely and I’m left with audio only. Frustrating.
It’s what was advertised
by Jcr9000 on 2018/10/31 01:41
It is what is advertised. I hope they keep adding content but the amount of content here is worth paying 99 dollars for the year for sure. If you want to be more productive then cancel Netflix and make this your go to for content to consume. I also love that you want listen instead of watching the video if you choose. A lot of value here and I like the community.
Misplaced priorities
by Just Good Sense on 2019/06/15 13:17
Skillshare is a great source of information, but their Apple apps suuuuck. And the latest update improves watching via Chromecast, complete with an exclamation point! Yay? Why am I supposed to be excited by Chromecast? I’m not on a Chromebook (is that even what they’re called? I can’t even be bothered to look). There was an okay Apple TV app that used to work sometimes, but it fell apart and I was told via a Support chat that development on it was re-prioritized or something. This iOS update with improved Chrome support seems like middle finger to me personally. Hey, maybe a coder at Skillshare could look for a place online to watch videos on iOS app development!

I heard of skill share on a YouTube video and thought that this would help my improve my artistic skills. I was supper excited to start except every time I press on a video, it doesn’t load. I thought maybe and update would help but it still does the same thing. I’m very disappointed and I’m hoping I could get it fixed

by Langdon15 on 2019/10/22 05:14
From the content on the app to the way the app works, it’s amazing, I can’t complain.

Subtitles

I absolutely recommend it.

by Special_unicorn1 on 2019/10/06 03:49

This app just stands in stark contrast to the rest of their business model, which continues to exceed my expectations.

by PRaile on 2019/09/26 18:31
The monthly cost of Skillshare is well worth the content provided.
Issues viewing the Videos
by Nina NahNo on 2019/09/17 15:05
So every view seconds the pause button and rewind buttons appear on the screen. If I don’t clear it from the screen it just sits there.
Great App
by BrandPiano on 2019/09/17 14:56
But in the new update while I’m watching a video the pause menu appears on the screen every minute. Very annoying, didn’t happen before update. Please fix.

Videos Unwatchable
by Furb12 on 2019/09/17 02:56
The layer with “pause” button, progress bar, etc is displayed every few seconds—obscuring the video—which makes the video unwatchable and the app useless.

by vortimus on 2019/09/14 00:34
I enjoy having access to a vast majority of content and educational material. Watching it on my iPhone is a blast, on the PC/Mac it’s very enjoyable. Unfortunately on the Apple TV I can’t seem to login. I signed up for the app using Google login and now I can’t get in to the Apple TV to watch my content. Very sad and hopefully there is a fix soon
Playhead keeps popping up during video
by Tjam227 on 2019/09/12 22:26
App is solid but every 20 seconds the playhead pops up on the video I’m watching and it’s driving me crazy.
If not for Skillshare I’d be totally lost
by AtThatAgeWhen on 2019/09/12 02:08
Skillshare has been the most amazing tool for learning. I’m able to get a good foundation on so many subjects relating to blog creation that would have otherwise otherwise taken ages to not Oy research but to find and then pay incredible amounts of money for, not to mention being inconvenienced. This is sensational!!!
Excellent training for a low cost!

5 stars for content but minus one bc the video player overlays playback controls every few seconds. It’s rather hard to see the nice classes.

Was great, but what happened?
by gngrdnn on 2019/08/12 12:05

by Joseli on 2019/08/09 07:15
Wether you’re looking to improved a particular skill or learn a new one, SkillShare is definitely the place to go.

What an invaluable resource!!!

As a homeschooling mom, a writer, a dancer, a music producer, Skillshare is such a God-send! I consider myself and life-long-learner. I’m self-led and find immeasurable joy in the learning of new skills. Skillshare has become one of the many tools in my “Unschooling toolbox” that allows me to bring the resources and mentoring right into my living room, day or night. Thank you Skillshare. You’ve been paramount in education of my whole family, as well as, an extensive support system for myself, as a homeschool educator.
Skill Share is a Professional Teaching Tool
by jpeahauler on 2019/03/24 12:52
I believe Skill Share can be utilized as a Professional Teaching Tool to enable multiple disciplines the ability to learn new skills and improve or build upon the current skill sets by watching others share how they grew their skill development. I am a teacher and hope to use Skill Share as a research tool to build analytical and technological techniques and processes that will allow students to engage and communicate in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.
I’m not allowed to do anything
by Lujain arti on 2019/01/17 22:34
I am not allowed to do anything except if I have premium access and I don’t want to buy the premium subscription but it doesn’t let me click on a single class I really think this app is amazing and helps a lot of people but I just don’t want the premium access but I still want the classes so you’re forced to buy A subscription to get classes in my opinion that is a scam and without any classes or any learning the app is completely useless I wish you could let me click on some classes not even all of them just some of them without a premium access that would make the app 10 times better
Great app
by vinconneau.kali on 2019/04/08 03:04
I love this service and the app.
THIS APP IS AMAZING BUT ONE BUG!!!
by Iaustin2013 on 2019/11/16 14:30
I enjoy skillshare so much I can’t get enough of it and all the classes. I think at any age you should definitely get this app. But there is one bug!!! I don’t know if it’s just my iPad but it acts like I’m touching it every minute or so but I have been getting used to it and I love the app and I think any young fellow artists would love this app and adults too!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😇🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙂🙂🙂🥰🙂🙂🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
