Love it, but...
by GamingGal🦄 on 2019/04/17 17:42
I love the app, but firstly... it should have the same exact features as the actual procreate! I hate how I can’t draw symmetricaly. Secondly, why does it have to be so small? Also, lower the price for the other procreate? Plz?
Procreate Layers
by brittanyc2314 on 2019/04/17 13:58
My procreate app updated and limited my layers to 12 while i normally use 20-30. This has impacted my work because my layers get out of order because of this ridiculous new update. but other than that i’d say procreate was pretty okay.
Amazing.
by BaranXXI on 2019/04/16 23:01
Knowing Procreate on iPad for 2 years now, seeing how powerful and amazing the iPhone app is truly shows the power of this app and the incredible talent behind the Procreate team. They literally have just about everything possible on iPad, but yes there a several things missing but not too critical. As feedback, hopefully we can see the text and typography feature soon (which I’m sure they are aware of). The text and typography feature just came out for iPad and I love it and I quickly thought about Procreate pocket BECAUSE I have all these photos that I want to import and just slap some writing on. My mind quickly said “PROCREATE POCKET!!” What an amazing app to add text and put some cool writing on existing photos and then export them with amazing resolution. Also one more thing I know iPad is more powerful and can handle heavier projects and I don’t know if the Procreate pocket app just rejects certain projects or if it’s the iPhone but I have the XS Max and I’m hoping it’s powerful enough, but when I airdrop some projects from my iPad to iPhone, Procreate pocket says the projects is too big or it’s beyond the capabilities or whatever.... please please please fix this.
We need this app to have animation
by Sexy Akira on 2019/04/16 16:39
I would give it 4 because it’s at doing what it does but undoubtedly it needs animation that is what I would give 5 stars.
Mixed feelings
by TiffanyTree on 2019/04/11 20:57
I have some mixed feelings about this app. I’ve been looking at purchasing it for a while and I finally decided to purchase. I’m not 100 percent sure it was worth 5 dollars, but I am enjoying it. I’ve been using adobe illustrator on my phone for a while, but it’s missing a few things aswell. My biggest issue is that there is no way to get a good shape with this pocket version, as I’ve seen with iPad users (I personally don’t have an iPad) you can only get a straight line. I feel like this app would do better with some kind of shape snapping. Although it’s not available on this app, or the adobe app, I would love to see the symmetry tool come to procreate pocket. Until I’m able to get an iPad and the other version of procreate, I will just use both procreate pocket and adobe illustrator.
Kind of buggy
by Michael2987 on 2019/04/09 17:30
I love procreate and it is my reason for using iOS devices to be honest. Sadly, I find pocket to have some serious stability issues. For example, randomly it starts crashing while trying to import photos from the camera roll. Love the iPad app and this one has potential but the bugs need to be ironed out
Great app! Just wish there was a circle tool
by C__D_W on 2019/04/09 15:06
Procreate has helped me grow as an artist and I love playing around with the MANY different tools in this app. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the lack of a perfect circle tool. You can snap lines to be perfectly straight, but there is no tool to help with perfecting circles! Still, an awesome app overall
Deceiving!!! Don’t purchase!!
by gtraynor9292 on 2019/04/08 15:54
When you search for this app on your phone vs on your iPad you get different apps. I wanted to purchase the iPad comparable app and i had no way of knowing that until i bought this and tried it on my iPad. It doesn’t tell you it’s iPhone only and nonetheless WHY is that a thing?? There’s no difference and now you expect me to pay another $9.99 to invest in the iPad app while i just wasted $4.99 on this that i will not use. I’d love to be refunded because I’m not even going to use this. Don’t buy this it is restricted to iPhones only not iPad!
Pretty awesome
by bishprease on 2019/04/08 00:53
I love it so far as the 2nd app I’ve ever used for digital art. Wish they had some features like line control, shapes (like circles and squares), and fill or someway to keep the color inside the lines.
🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
by 🗿🤠 on 2019/04/04 04:22
it’s ok. Works fine other than the occasional crashes, glitches, and deletions. Medibang is much better and doesnt crash or delete, plus it’s free.
It’s actually a really good app!!
by V1ann3 on 2019/04/03 02:25
I’m an artist myself and I’d seen this app been used by people I follow that draw. I loved the way it looked and I wanted to get it, but by the time I had an android. I later got an iPhone and I had bought this app and I immediately fell in love with it!! I still got to get used it since I literally just stared drawing on it! I just love love love it, I’m not a person to review and app or even review, but this! I had to give a five star and review!!
I WANT MY MONEY BACK
by Officer Martin on 2019/04/01 16:38
I’ve been using a free drawing app for almost two years, and it’s been great. However, when I got an iTunes gift card for my birthday, I thought I’d try this app since I heard so much about it. It’s much more difficult to use than my free drawing app; either the brush is too big or too small(there’s no inbetween). I want my money back ASAP, because I’m VERY disappointed. I’d give this zero stars if I could.
titles?nope
by KenleighBat on 2019/04/01 09:25
when i got this i didn't find the titles i still cant find them are they in the app?if not please in the next update put it in and if its there and i'm just blind please tell me where to find them!Thank you!
Omg
by WinterRoseStone on 2019/03/31 14:59
I’ve been testing out a few things. I haven’t done a full drawing yet, but the possibilities are endless. It offers so much more than the MediBang app I was using and I can’t wait to explore the possibilities. It offers so many different brushes I don’t even know what most of them could be used for but I can’t wait to find out. Only complaint is they should have a button for undos and redos because the tapping on the screen the way they asking you to isn’t always reliable.
Severely behind iPad Version
by darboston on 2019/03/30 02:46
If only this had quick shapes and clipping masks. Would be great to have that functionality on the go!
Really like it!
by LonelySora on 2019/03/28 10:47
I really like this app. It's a bit confusing & complex but it's still pretty decent. :)

Best 5$ I’ve ever spent
by LukasBagby on 2019/03/25 03:34
A very powerful app capable of so much. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. From the enormous amount of brushes(all fully customizable) to the fully loaded color wheel i found myself constantly finding new ways to improve my drawings. It might take some a little bit of time getting used to drawing on a smaller screen but that is the only con i can really think of.
Needs improvement
by 😀😀😀😀😀😛 on 2019/03/24 21:04
I was hoping this wouldn’t be different from the I pad but it was I was super upset it could use some improvements
Great App But a Few Recommendations...
by SupremeTaco IV on 2019/03/18 03:48
Absolutely love the app! The only thing I’d recommend is more hair brushes for say like curly hair. I’d also like to see more layers. You use to be able to have around 80 and now you only get 7 layers. I’d like to see that feature come back. 🙃
Way too perfect 😡
by MynxGee on 2019/03/16 15:04
Do something about this! This stuff is worth all the pennies. It keeps me in awe. Much respect and mad love to the team behind this masterpiece!
Help
by Dominique 🦖 on 2019/03/13 23:44

Quick line don't work like the iPad version
by Donatario on 2019/03/13 03:48
I try to make a circle with quick line, but it always turn a line =\
Not very useful
by Dantrn on 2019/03/12 16:04
Was hoping to be able to trace designs for stencil images for tattooing. There's just no accuracy with a fingertip. So it was a wasted $5. Prefer autodesk sketchbook.
Undo
by Miraty on 2019/03/12 14:52
This app doesn’t have an undo button
system error
by heaux_whydontwe on 2019/03/12 05:50
when i first installed the app it was doing great and was working fine. i was halfway done with my drawing when the app stopped working completely besides like 3 or 4 brushes and one that i installed. it’s probably just me but i would like to be able to use the app again without any problems.
Layers
by MauriceWuzHere on 2019/03/10 09:05
I use to be able to have 40 layers and it literally just suddenly disappeared and now six is my limit. What happened? Am I suppose to purchase? If so where do I purchase? Cause I have searched this, the app, and the internet to figure out how to get 40 layers maximum back. I am working on a piece and I am currently risking my art piece due to having to merge layers just so I can make a new one to start on another part.
Best Professional Illustration Software on a Mobile Device
by Toothpick013 on 2019/03/10 07:40
It’s not even a competition. If you’ve used Procreate in iPad you’ll feel right at home. The two are nearly identical save for a select few features—liquify and even drawing guides are absent from the Pocket version, but I can’t imagine these are permanently lost features, and are certainly destined for a future update. Other than that? It’s worth every penny and more (just please avoid the subscription model).
Not updating??
by 2cute4u_ on 2019/03/07 05:29
Hello, I have used procreate for quite a few years on my iPad, and I would like to use it on my phone but it does not show this new interface and such as advertised. It says I am fully updated but I don't see this white theme, more features, and more brushes. I seem to have a very old and simplified version with a black theme. I do not know why, Although I am using a iPhone 6 with version 10.3.2, and I am not willing to update it (since I dislike the newer features). Also there is another, REALLY BIG SUGGESTION of mine that I have, to increase the limit of 'Streamline', or what other programs may call Stability or Pen Correction, to help make even smoother lines. It's why I prefer to use other apps more for line art since I can create better lines there, although I like to then transfer my work to procreate for its great coloring abilities and many brushes, it would be a lot easier to use only one app for everything one day again.
Amazing!
by savanna20081974 on 2019/03/06 23:29
When it comes to Procreate, it has the word create in it for a reason. There are many amazing tools you can use in order to have the right feeling for your drawing. I also love how they made it cheaper for the iPhone. Even though iPads may be better for this app, the iPhone Procreate is the exact same thing except just a tiny-er, cheaper version!
Good but not so good
by Carol1neLover123 on 2019/03/06 12:20
I just purchased the app and I tried was coloring a picture that I imported and the problem was that it is really hard to tap with 2 fingers for undo and 3 fingers for redo. It sometimes counted the redo for undo and nothing just worked out. I really hoped this problem gets fixed
Amazing
by beanwhip on 2019/03/06 03:59
Procreate pocket is an incredible app for drawing i haven’t been able to compare it to the I pad procreate but it works for me on mobile, I use a Adonit dash 3 stylus and I’ve had amazing results with the application I’d love to have my artwork as one of the stock photos that comes with the app! 😂

I love this app a lot don’t get me wrong but whenever I use a brush with one or two colors and I try to click to get another color it won’t let me so I have to close out of the app and sometimes my artwork gets deleted😭
Liquify
by painter craz on 2019/02/26 00:35
Please update the app for liquify and much more!!!
7 layer limit??? The limit used to be 38!!
by Katietaytee on 2019/02/25 03:26
Okay first of all, I LOVE this app and have been using it for 5 years HOWEVER I just went to create a new artwork and it didn’t let me use any more than 7 layers, when only a couple of weeks ago I could use up to 38!!! What happened??? Please fix this, I love using this app and it would be a shame to stop making artwork with it just because of a silly issue like this! Until then, my rating will stay at 2 stars.
It’s great but...
by Nikki😢 on 2019/02/24 15:39
It’s a great app but I this that when you tap something and it goes to full screen bugs me. But that my preference. If that doesn’t matter then this app it perfect.
beautiful brushes
by Flappy Bird 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 on 2019/02/23 18:58
i love the brushes on this app, they all look so nice! although it’s difficult without pen pressure, that’s not the apps fault. the only complaint i have is that i can’t change the size of my canvas? i’m not sure if i can’t find out what to press or what, but it’s a bit frustrating i can’t make the canvas bigger when i need more room
Confused
by KIRCAM10 on 2019/02/21 01:04
I love this app, however I have watched a few videos on Instagram of someone using the normal one on an IPad. I personally don’t have an iPad and I can’t use the symmetry feature. I am quite upset about that. Other than that I absolutely love this app.
This App Is Amazing, One Thing Though
by Dud2008 on 2019/02/20 03:14
First: 4 1/2 stars. They just don’t have halves so just pretend. And Second: This app is one of... no, not one of, THE BEST drawing app I’ve ever had. It allows me to draw and create art easily and share it with my friends and family. The only problem on Pocket is that there is not an auto shape yet. I sort of rely on auto shape because I don’t have a very steady hand, and it’s already difficult to draw on phones with my fingers. I hope that comes in an update soon. Either way it still probably will be the best drawing app I could find for a phone.
Please change
by molyysa123 on 2019/02/18 14:52
This iPhone user wants to be able to do symmetry on there pleas And other activities I also want to be able to make an Apple Pencil plz thank u I’ve always wanted a drawing tablet but this will do?😞
Love it!
by Haleyswope on 2019/02/18 06:13
Honestly love this and it’s made a wonderful transition for me to move to digital art. Don’t regret buying it at all. There are definitely some flaws, such as color transfers and brief moments where it doesn’t understand what I’m clicking, but overall I’m in love. 12/10 would recommend haha.
Love the app!!- Wish it had quick shape
by Ladypaintsalot on 2019/02/18 00:28
I love this app! I love being able to draw on the go. I can’t seem to find the quick shape. Just the quick line. Maybe I am missing it. It is already packed with most of the features that the ipad offers. I just want this one little thing. Thanks!!
the layers
by mileyxwiz on 2019/02/17 22:52
i love this app so much but i wish you would give us an unlimited amount of layers to draw on. pleaseeeee think about fixing this. other than that i’m pretty okay with the app
What?
by Huscbhourowbh on 2019/02/16 18:29
I like this app and all that, but I have had a problem a minute ago and I need help. I was just using the dropper tool and I needed a skin color I already used. I did and then I used the color at it was 50 percent lighter than it was before: then I used it again and it was black! Every color I use is darker than it is or lighter. I am not really liking this app and it makes me kinda wanna crush my phone because of how frustrated I am! I have looked up so many tutorials and nothing works. I’m giving this a 2 because it’s not the best at all... for one of the best apps for drawing it needs to improve a lot. I’d rather use sketchbook over this.
Disgusting

Import Feature
by AiVeelution on 2019/02/15 16:13
I LOVE the iPad app. That said... They really need to add a feature where I can import procreate works from my iPad. And if it exists, it needs to be easier to find and use.
Doesn’t work
by imverysalty on 2019/02/15 01:39
It does not work I can’t do anything I make a new doc then I can’t even draw not worth it
Quick shape is needed badly in this app! Soon
by UncoolRose on 2019/02/14 10:52
All I’m asking is that you put quick shape in the app like on iPad. Not sure why it’s not in the first place. Everything should be the same on the iPad and iPhone. At least quick shape. So please add it ASAP. It’s bot just me who wants it too.
Conflicted
by youchooseforme on 2019/02/14 07:09
The app is great I can't lie , I bought the app at least it should be given with all the features on the iPhone by that I mean not having to buy extra features . Like what's the point of you have to keep purchasing , I'm not a rich person to keep buying extra things. From Cindy

This is a good app but it is hard to use. I tried to use it for the first time today, but it’s hard. I know it’s my first time. I maybe need to get used to it. No hate, No offense. I like this app.
Very expensive for such a primitive app
by PerpetualSkeptic on 2019/02/10 00:14
It has good brushes and color choices, but lacks ability to draw lines and circles or other shapes - other than by doing it freehand yourself. I bought it based on a friend’s recommendation (she had used it on ipad) - but looks like the phone version is very different from the ipad one. I may try ipad sone day, but on the phone I sure wish I had read more reviews before plunking the 5 dollars.

not worth the money
by Liam Christopher on 2019/02/07 23:19
there are WAY better free apps out there. dont pay for procreate. medibang has infinitely better features. such as a stabilizer, shape maker, custom canvas sizes, and more. also, maximum ten layers? are you serious? for a PAID app? i want my money back.
Best art app ever!

Getting buggy
by Runner5 + Pet on 2019/02/05 17:48
After about 30 minutes on and off into a drawing, the color wheel doesn’t come up anymore and I cant change the color I want to use.( unless i use the eyedropper tool where you touch a color on the canvas and it automatically switches to that color. When i need to add a new color I’m stuck.) Other than that i hope the symmetry tool gets added over to this version, and I still recommend it as a tool to help you understand and sharpen your digital art.

No A Happy Customer
by Valdito on 2019/02/01 03:49
A while back I emailed the developers. I had asked a question and my question was when were they going to bring some features to the Pocket App. They replied by saying that it would be before Christmas. They would do a major update... That was back in October 2018, now we are entering February 2019 and we are still wait for that major update... smh thanks for lying to your customer. where’s symmetry for this app?
I don't know
by Knoxipoo on 2019/01/27 03:20
I'm kinda disappointed because I've seen many tutorials on YouTube using procreate and it shows so many cool features And then the one on my phone doesn't have everything the one on the iPad does. Its cool but since my phones so tiny its hard to work with.😕
Hard to use...
by Shonemeister on 2019/01/25 13:19
I can still make good art with this app, but some of the brushes are always coming out bigger than the canvas, and it’s very confusing to fix in the setting because there is to much. I can’t make a circle, I don’t know how to blend colors with the brushes, and whenever I search up how to use it on phone the only things that come up are tablet tutorials because no one use the phone. I don’t think this app is worth $4.99, at least not for the phone. The tablet is much better, the iPhone version doesn’t seem like the way to go. It’s not bad, but not really all that great either.

This isnt fair... people on the ipads and such have more access with the Preference settings!! They get to change their screen color to either black or white but us iphone users are stuck with the stupid white screen and it hurts my eyes! Then they have a bar instead of circles for their size of the brush but we have the stupid circles! Then when you draw a circle and you wait for a bit and then it forms a perfect circle! but when i do it, it just turns into a straight line! Ive tried everything to make a perfect circle but it turns out at a stupid line! Please let us have more access! its so freaking annoying to see other artists have more power with the settings then us iphone users! the app is great and all but its just not fair...

I started exploring graphic design & was trying to decide how I wanted to approach it.. do I use photoshop or a digital drawing application? Due to the price difference I decided to give Procreate a try & worst case I could move on to Photoshop. BUT I have not looked at other options since I downloaded Procreate, I’m obsessed!! There are so many amazing features and I keep learning more from the amazing support the company provides through their Q&A on instagram, they’re website & so much more. This was a perfect tool for me to start with digital drawing but also allows for more advanced drawing.

Ughh this app has so much potential pls do more! I love using it even though I am kinda a newbie. Just a quick comment pls to do a text tool it’s hard to import a text or even write it. Also include cool fonts and customizable features for text like sizing, italics, etc.
really good app but

I like Procreate! I’ve been looking for a high quality digital drawing app for a little while and this one seems to work for me! Though, there are multiple things wrong with it. 1) It seems that I can’t delete things like layers or colors in a color palette, which is really really frustrating. I’ve been trying to delete a layer for about 20 minutes and I still haven’t figured out how to. 2) The app doesn’t have any circle or square drawing features. This can make it really difficult 3) the undo and redo setting is kind of dumb. There should just be a button for that.
😭😭
by idk_12 on 2019/01/11 19:50
I don’t like it because I can’t Chang the overall size of the brush RIP OFF 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why isn’t Procreate available on the IPad 4?

im sorry, but the controls are very confused. i cant even figure out how to undo and redo! ive tried double tapping and triple tapping but doesnt work. to me, this was a waste of five dollars and i shoukd go back to Medibang.
Meh
by domos809 on 2019/01/07 21:17
Honestly.. I only bought this because a lot of good artists I saw used it. I was really excited to use it and it’s an okay app. It didn’t exactly live up to my expectations. I wouldn’t really recommend buying it because there is a lot of free apps that are a lot better than this app (my opinion). Before you buy this app try as many free apps because you might end up regret buying it.

Is there a way to refund my money? I accidentally bought this app..
Needs to be updated..

Why is the iPhone version missing so many options from the iPad version. It needs to be updated so we can get the same features the iPad has.
Love it but.
by Iris ;-; on 2019/01/04 08:26
In my opinion I think this app is amazing for people do show there art work. Like this app has awsome brushes but it should have more limit to the size. Also I’m not trying to compare in a rude way but there’s another app called I ibis paint x and they have a lot more tools to help and maybe the app should add just a tiny bit more tools.
This is the best drawing app ever. But... one suggestion/question.
by KoolCroco on 2019/01/03 23:27
It has everything—every option you could dream of—the UI is sleek and intuitive—and it’s just so amazing. It deserves a Wikipedia article. However, if the developers happen to read this, I have one question... I don’t see any configuration of this in settings, so I’d like to ask: how do you make it to, when you stop drawing a line, it stops right when your finger stops and DOESN’T taper off? It may be useful for many, but you added this in a recent update and I had gotten used to that not being a thing. I had started to hone my precision before you implemented that feature. Is there a way for me to toggle this? If not, please make it so. Thanks ❤️🖌
don’t buy no matter how much you love the first procreate.
by OMG LOVEEE THISSSS on 2019/01/03 04:49
don’t buy! i had a lot of confidence in the creators even though people were saying poor things about it. it’s AWFUL it’s not as updated and it’s impossible to draw anything decent. ~~~ i expected more from the creators considering the app on the IPad is amazing. this is just awful and extremely disappointing.

Where’s the undo button??
by Blitzwing on 2018/12/31 00:31
I recently bought this app and was really enjoying it until I realized there’s no button for me to erase my mistakes. I would love this game 100% more if it had the undo button.
Love it But One thing
by 808KVH on 2018/12/30 08:43
Here's the thing There is no undo or redo button Say you're drawing and you accidentally draw a line that wasn't supposed to be there and it's all over your drawing that you worked so hard on. There is no button to undo that line you accidentally drew, and so you have to erase that line and make sure it doesn't ruin your art. Since i draw a lot, it would be a lot more easier for me to draw because i don't have to worry about ruining my art because of that one line. If there IS an undo button, then i have no idea where it is. But other than that. Everything's great!
Not Awful
by Jhtdvycvbb on 2018/12/29 20:13
This app is, overall, okay. However, I don’t want to spend $100 on an apple pen, and the stylus I already have doesn’t work with the app. Using my finger works, but I would prefer by a mile to use my stylus. In the future, could you make more brands of pen available to function with the app? In terms of use with the app, it works very well. Thank you!
Conflicted feelings
by Sw1ft3r on 2018/12/21 05:08
I’m not sure what to feel towards Procreate Pocket. I’ve recently purchased the app on my iPhone in hopes that I would be able to use the same wonderful drawing app I know and love without having to carry around a huge iPad Pro wherever and whenever I want to draw, but I’m struggling to find any situation where I’ve ever felt comfortable using the application on the iPhone. I feel like I’ve had too high of an expectation from the iPad app to really see where the pocket version can shine but I cannot say that it would ever be a viable alternative to the iPad version let alone be some form of replacement. It’s lack of features that the iPad has like the extra drawing guides, liquify and quick shape are some of the biggest features that I would have really liked to have seen on Pocket, but sadly aren’t included as of making this review. I really want this app to succeed, but right now it’s simply unusable since I’m so used to the iPad version. I would also HIGHLY recommend some sort of cloud syncing if that isn’t already a feature so I can work on my projects across devices. Seeing as this isn’t an option right now from what I’ve seen, this is a huge bummer because It takes away one of the big reasons I wanted to purchase it in the first place.
Great, for the mostpart
by Ljs0206 on 2018/07/18 00:23
I recently purchased this app and have been enjoying it so far! I really love the endless possibilities in terms of customizing your brushes and creating your own palettes. However, I’ve been running into one small issue: functionality. The app randomly crashes without warning. It doesn’t freeze, or lag, it just crashes. I never know when it’s coming, so I’m constantly frustrated, having to re-open the app and go back to my artwork over and over. My phone does not have any storage issues, and none of my other apps ever crash like this. I’m concluding it must be an issue with the app itself. I have an iPhone 7. Hopefully this issue is fixed(especially if I’m not the only one having it), because it is a small one, and the app is great otherwise! Edit: I have updated my phone to see if that would solve the issue, but the app is crashing twice as much now. This is definitely proving to be an issue that I can’t avoid, and I’m afraid I’m going to refrain from using the app until an update is available.
Amazing.

Worst drawing app EVER
by Madiilyn on 2016/06/04 23:18
Do not buy this app if you are looking to create precise images. In my free time I like to draw chibi and cartoon/manga art on paper and transfer the image digitally, however this app is absolutely ridiculous. Everything is based off a grid and you can not draw a singular straight line to safe your life, at least not all in the same color. It's basically impossible to outline ANYTHING and it's so so so frustrating. The stupid app also picks up original colors as well on new layers, like for instance say you are tracing an image that you made before and this time you'd like the character to have blonde hair instead of black well good freaking luck, the app picks up the original hair color and presto, your hair is now brown even when the color clearly says you are using yellow.. As for outlining, I spent three hours straight on this app just to realize that the black lining of my character was grey or even dark brown in some spots and almost impossible to outline anything tiny without getting at least three grid block colored in as well. You have to tap each individual square to get the color darker. All my eyes look like they have crazy amounts of eyeliner and it's just bs. I'm so sad. Please do not buy this app unless everything you do is by freehand. You are better off using the free paint program on a laptop.
Disappointed. Could have been better. Way below my expectation.
by Ani~~~ on 2016/08/20 01:05
I have the Ipad version of this app. I love the Ipad version. I thought the phone and pad versions are same and I am so confused why I have to buy two separate apps for both my ipad and iphone. I was so wrong. I waited for a long time to get my hands on this version. I have to say it lacks many functions. It is way too simplistic. It does not have stamps and other illustrations. You have no way to control and manage the brushes (different shapes and sizes of one single brush style.) There's only three pages of color swatch as oppose to infinite pages in ipad version (Ipad version also comes with a full basic color swatch). There's no line of symmetry and grid function. It lacks way too many functions the ipad version have and the difference is too great. I am greatly disappointed. Couldn't you just make an app the same for both ipad and iphone? Ibispaint did it, why couldn't you. Ibispaint went from simple interface to very useful art app with full set of digital and manga tools and on top of that FREE. For now I will stick to Ibispaint for iphone. I am too disappointed.
Undo and redo ruined??
by Taytay06708425 on 2018/10/18 21:05
I love this app, I really do, and while the new update added a lot of great new features, everything became MUCH more confusing. For a while I was really upset bc I thought the speedpaint feature had been removed, when in reality it had just been moved to a different part of the app. PLEASE add a tutorial or something to let users know where everything is. In addition, I find the new double-tap and triple-tap for undo and redo respectively to be more a hassle than a convenience... the buttons were much more simple and straightforward... sometimes I accidentally undo and it takes me a while to understand exactly how many undos and redos I’ve done... PLEASE PLEASE put the buttons back in, or at least make it an option somewhere to decide whether you want double-tap and triple-tap or buttons... I think implementing the option would make a lot of people happier with the update.
What happened?
by KDub0123456789 on 2018/09/02 01:48
I really like a lot of the new features. The new brush stroke options and the free form drawing are great. Then there are some issues with color changes and drawing a single straight line (which I confirmed after reading another review). But most importantly, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE UNDO AND REDO BUTTONS!? If they still exist, my bad. But it should not be this difficult to find them if they do still exist, so there’s still a problem. Then again, if those buttons truly have been removed: WHY!?!?!? Why would you make me completely erase something with ridiculous accuracy? It’s so easy to make an accidental mark. For literally any reason. Someone please tell me what’s happening here. Update: I finally figured out that the undo is now a two finger double tap. Which is convenient for the most part, until I accidentally do it, then there’s no redo! Also, I should NOT have had to google how to do that. There should be something in settings or help or whatever with a guide for all the shortcuts. So I’m bumping it from 2 stars to 3.
The Best Update Yet, Thank You 😁
by Joshua D. on 2018/05/26 00:30
This newest update to Procreate Pocket is fantastic in my opinion. It has completely redesigned the app and made this iPhone version to be one hundred percent how I wished it was in the beginning. Finally the iPhone version of the app feels so much closer to the brilliant iPad app. I just want to thank Savage Interactive for all of the time and hard work no doubt put into making this version so much better and so much like the original version, I'm incredibly grateful for that. The new brushes are a joy to use, I can really tell that the painting engine has been updated, everything is so smooth, we actually have more canvas sizes, plus, you can create custom sizes finally and just everything about this massive update is absolutely awesome in my opinion. Plus, you can finally create custom brushes, which is so wonderful I think. And create custom brush groups and importing brushes is so much easier in my opinion. All of this is just like using the iPad version of Procreate but amazingly on my iPhone finally. Thank you so much Savage Interactive, I'm so grateful for all of this. I finally have a true and real painting app for my iPhone and, again, one that works properly on my iPhone 6 Plus. I just cannot tell you how excited I am about this new build. Thanks for giving this app the attention it needed and deserved and God bless.
Almost Perfect!
by kalis0521 on 2018/07/06 18:00
First off, let me say this: I LOVE Procreate Pocket. It packs so much into a smaller device, all while maintaining excellent quality of every feature. I do have a few suggestions to help make this app the best it can be though, which I hope may be taken into consideration! 1. Layer Clipping. I have to say, this was the one thing that really disappointed me about Procreate Pocket. If this program added clipping, I would never need to use another mobile drawing app again! 2. Stroke Stabilization. Not a huge issue for me, especially considering Procreate is mostly meant for painting, but this would be a great feature to have. 3. Gradation. (I think that’s how it’s spelled, anyways) Again, really not a necessary feature, but it’s one I’d love to have! And that’s all! I hope the team will continue to add more content to this wonderful program in the future :)
Update = Good but Not Perfect
by YaHobGob on 2018/06/14 09:27
To say I’m blown away with the update is an understatement! I love that there are soooo many new brushes and I’m enjoying experimenting with them all. I only have one issue: Importing both images and PSD files. Neither of them seem to work. Images does if I put it into an open canvas, and uploading files into said canvas makes it a simple, flat, one-layer image. But when it comes to importing from the main screen (both photos from the camera roll and PSD files from whatever app you use, trust me, I’ve tried a lot), where you get the layers and what not, the app straight up crashes. It’s extremely frustrating, especially because I’m so used to Procreate as a whole. If this gets fixed, I’ll be switching over to it as my full time creation app. If not... whelp, there’s other apps such as Sketchbook that can open the files I need, properly.
WHAT HAPPENED?!
by Foggy365 on 2018/06/25 15:23
I’ve always loved this app and never had any problems or complaints, but now I’m having a huge issue. I’ve always been able to create art and then save my work to the French Girls app from the Procreate Pocket app, but now it doesn’t even give me that option anymore... It has nothing to do with my phone or iPod settings because I’ve never changed anything in my settings, but to be 100% sure I checked both my iPhone and my iPod and none of my settings are different, So it has something to do with the Procreate Pocket app. I really hope that you’re able to fix this issue because I love your app, but there’s no reason to have it if I can’t link my artwork to the French Girls app anymore because being able to have that option is the main reason that I downloaded the Procreate Pocket app. Have a wonderful day and Thank You So Much For Creating This Amazing Art App, I Just Seriously Hope that you can fix it.

Worth 5 stars
by JoshJB95 on 2018/04/14 15:53
Those who say this app is not good or give it a bad review, haven’t given it a chance or don’t know how to use its full potential if you ask me. This app is the perfect drawing app for any artist who actually has the time and patience to work on something. I learned how to use layering, texture, smoothing, and a lot more all by myself actually. The only thing I searched up was where to import new brush types and that’s all on the procreate website. I’ve made a good amount of things already and some were not outlines of drawing what I’ve drawn on actual paper. If you plan on drawing an outline of a picture you import, then I suggest you make using layers your bestfriend. This app works if you put the effort to work with it. The app is worth paying for even if it was $10.
Okay app
by Oof Beans on 2018/06/23 16:28
This app seems pretty nice so far. I really like the option of brushes, and how smooth everything is. The only thing is that there could be many MANY improvements in this app. For one, I can’t seem to figure out to import photos. I like to import traditional sketches and pictures of my characters/oc’s. Second of all, there should be an option where you can type the number size of the brush Third; the fact that when I zoom out a little when I’m drawing it zooms the whole canvas out which is very VERY frustrating. Fourth; It should be easier to move a layer around and what not. It’s just so hard and frustrating to figure out how to move a certain layer, and sometimes by accident it completely stretches the layer, and it take forever to get the dang undo to work without accidentally drawing a whole bunch of dots all over your drawing. This app can use a lot of work. You should make a button in the corner to undo and redo things, because the finger tap just makes everything difficult, and I always accidentally draw dots all over my drawings when trying to redo/undo. Like in Ibis Paint, there should be a selection layer. It makes moving things so much easier! Like I said before, this app can use a lot of work. When you fix those inconveniences maybe I’ll fix the rating. ~Bean
What the pros use
by Twzoner on 2018/03/28 04:39
I work at an relatively large marketing firm. A year ago, most of my colleagues were tethered to their laptops: photoshop and a tablet of some sort for any and all designs. That is until I showed them the IPad Pro and Procreate. Fast forward a year and nearly all of our design team, 20 or so, are using Procreate and IPads. Our clients like the art we give them, our bosses like the quality we put out, and the designers like the flexibility. Brush simulation, countless layer modes, and a software development team that simply knows what they’re doing. Take it from a pro, this is the real deal. PS If you read from some reviews that it takes forever to import brushes, know that there is a 2 minute workaround that has you importing hundreds of brushes instantly.
This is the best drawing app ever. But... one suggestion/question.

Good app with one problem
by Lunarfaerie22 on 2018/08/20 21:43
I've been using procreate on my iPad for years now, so when the pocket version came out I almost immediately downloaded it. It's a really good drawing app, and with the new additions it's only been getting better! The only thing is that I believe there may be a glitch; I've been trying to turn off the "background color" layer to save the canvas as transparent, yet it hasn't been working. Like I mentioned, I don't know if it's a glitch, but it's definitely been an issue for a few months now, which is disappointing when I'm drawing character profiles and portraits.
Great In General
by AlterSebasian on 2018/12/05 01:25
People complain about no redo and undo buttons, etc. Please read the manual of the app first for Christ sake. The only thing I am a bit of frustrated about is two finger pinch usually happened while I accidentally touch the area on the left where the brush controls lies, in which case would cause unable to pinch and draw a line that I don't want. Consider every one has different painting habbit, some one like to paint in landscape mode, some are not. I recommend in the future update, you guys can implement the DIY brush controls position, let the user put these brush controls where they would cause the least unexpected action for themselves. Or if you guys would solve it in some other ways, that's good too.

i’m a student youtuber & have been hearing about procreate (the ipad version) for a long time. the only problem was that i don’t actually have an ipad, but i do have a phone - so when i heard about procreate pocket, i was so excited! i freaking love the new update, there are so many amazing brushes to choose from and i also really love importing my own brushes into the app to use. i’ve tested out a LOT of drawing apps and this one is definitely my favourite. i also love doing calligraphy and this app has a wonderful interface that is easy to understand and use, and it has so many options like i said !! i’m going to stop here but i would 110% recommend this app!!
Professional grade app for very low price
by LittleMustardSeed on 2016/05/06 15:35
This is a wonderful drawing app. You get high resolution drawings, with an easy-to-understand set of tools. If you have an iPad, it's even better. Much more space to work with, and more tools. This app is carefully maintained by a professional and responsible team. A lot of hard work and dedication must've been put into creating this. And the amazing thing is you have a professional grade drawing app for just dollars! More than worth every penny, this is a deal not to be beat. If you like to draw, whether for fun or professionally, this app is well worth buying. It has been endorsed by Apple, and for very good reason. If you're fortunate to also have an iPad, or an iPad Pro, give this app a try for those devices as well. The extra real-estate you have to draw on makes it an even better experience. But even if you only have an iPhone or iPod touch, it's a fabulous drawing app. You can download free brushes from the Procreate community. Lots of great brushes to try. Hope you will have a chance to enjoy the Procreate app. I doubt it will disappoint.
Could use some more/improved features.
by Marissa L Caswell on 2018/10/12 05:22
The only thing I like about this app is the brushes as well as how you can download more. Other than that this app is super complicated to use. I’m constantly having to look things up “where is, how do I, etc.” It’s a hassle and takes up so much time. Also, when I use the selection tool it leaves a bunch of white space in between the selected area and the lines which makes it hard to fill in areas completely. Another thing is, I can’t even use this app to outline things because there is no pen stability and the end of the pen doesn’t point the same way as the beginning even though I’ll have both sides pointing at 100% (max) which is very odd. I hope you add more features and fix these things soon so I can’t start using what I paid for. :(
New Update = God Tier
by TumblrEgg on 2018/05/22 20:02
When I first bought Procreate Pocket, I was disappointed with the narrow selection of tools and brushes that I could use, especially when compared to the iPad version. It was very limited, so I eventually started using it less and less. However, today, when I noticed that my app icon suddenly changed color, I went to go check it out and was absolutely awe-struck when I saw the new brushes, tools, and redesigned interface. Now the iPhone version finally lives up to the iPad version and I now have more potential and creativity to unveil in my drawings. To the team at Procreate, thank you so much for this. It is a lifesaving update.
Awesome
by Lightboxr on 2017/10/06 14:03
Not sure why certain people are freaking out. This is a simple version of the ipad app. I can draw straight lines and outline fine. It automatically saves to your gallery and then you can export your image as usual. You can bring photos and sketches into it from your photos. It's not easy to sketch on a phone anyway, but this is working for basics. Update: I’ve been using this app regularly and drawing with my finger. I’ve grown to really like it because I am making a lot of cute, painterly characters. I take back what I said about it not being that easy on a phone. It’s super easy, you just have to magnify your image. Soo fun!
Love the new update, but I have one question
by P0tterluv on 2018/05/24 13:44
I love the newest update to Procreate! It’s great and I love the new brushes and tools you can use, I also love how easy it is to create palettes! One question I have is I noticed that there’s no option to export a video anymore. That was something I loved to do in the previous version, I liked how you could download a video of the process of your artwork! Is this option still in the latest version? If it is, please let me know. :) Oh and on that note, I would love it if you were able to choose how fast the videos are! The ones in the previous version went a bit too fast for me.
Ipad version is better
by Giagalcute on 2018/09/20 22:49
Okay so I've tried the ipad version a few times because my friends have it and I thought "Oh this might be good to buy!" Then I realized there where two different versions and I was so confused like "Why? They just need to change the locations of certain things" I bought it anyway and I can say this app is DEFINITELY AWFUL. 1)There so little brushes?? I couldn't find a single brush to flatcolor my drawings because the inking brushes are too small and I don't want to use the paint brushes 2)Drop tabs hide things: One things for certain and it's that drop tabs aren't the answer to everything, they could be really annoying and it makes things harder 3)It's too simplistic, simple for art apps is and will always be the wrong idea. It's hard to find things if everything is simplistic. Well yeah that's why this app is bad.
Needs a little work
by Missyc77 on 2016/06/16 11:59
I enjoy this app but REALLY frustrated that I can't import more than one brush at a time! It's so tedious downloading brushes and having to import them one at a time. Also, why wouldn't Procreate allow .abr files when it's the most common? Makes 0 sense for Procreate to expect us to go through a millions steps to create a brush file we already have. Say there's 10 brushes in your .abr file, Procreate makes you download another app (ABR Viewer), save each individual brush to your camera roll, then create a different brush in the Procreate app one at a time. I find myself going crazy because of this!!! As far as the other features go, it has some good texture brushes but the interface is very elementary. It's missing several minor things that you get in many other drawing apps.
AMAZING!! WOULD RECOMMEND!
by _xParkourMasterx_ on 2018/06/18 02:19
This app is stupendously wonderful. I'm not sure why people are hating, but I'm sure that if I were them, I wouldn't hate for sure! This app isn't a drawing app. A lot of people keep saying "I cannot even draw a straight line!!" Seriously. This app is more of a painting app than a drawing app. There is a lot of different brushes SPECIFICALLY used for PAINTING. I'm not even sure why people keep saying stuff that are related to drawing. The brushes are right in front of your face, and also, please look closely before you review! Because, I would definitely recommend this app to each person I know in this whole entire world.
This Is Best Drawing App on IOS, Even Better
by Jbqjbqjbqjb1$?1$?1'kneimc on 2018/05/21 23:36
I have been using this since the early days of iPad version, which eventually when it came out the mobility and easy-to-access grew on me. So there it was: the best iPhone painting tool money can buy. And as the new update came out, it really was a huge surprise to probably all of the long time users of Procreate Pocket. They really have excelled them once again with brand new iOS 11 design language and tons of tools which I saw last time on the IPad version. Thank you guys so much for making such a powerful tool that got me into a road of creating arts, keep it up!
Fantastic Drawing App
by Emma Haase on 2018/01/13 17:38
I have an iPad Pro now, but before then I had a first version iPad Mini (that couldn’t run any later than iOS 9) and a stylus. I was very satisfied with this app, and honestly it’s worth the $2.99 if you’re not a really serious artist. I would say that (obviously) the original Procreate is better, but if you don’t have access to it, I would certainly recommend it. There are features that I wish it could do, but for a not so serious artist like me, it’s a phenomenal app. I would use it everyday and if you have the money, I would definitely give it a try.
Awesome app!
by iZeldaFan on 2018/03/06 00:14
You may see people reviewing this app with low star rating and a page of why they don’t like the app. Yes it is true that you may not be able to draw a straight line with the mobile app while you can on the iPad version. The mobile app does not have all the functions as the iPad version but it is still a very powerful app to be doing art on your phone. There’s a ton of creative ways to use this mobile app without being able to draw a perfect straight line. I’ve done many art works on the mobile and iPad versions and I’m very satisfied with it.
LOVE
by mherrera6 on 2019/01/18 19:24
I started exploring graphic design & was trying to decide how I wanted to approach it.. do I use photoshop or a digital drawing application? Due to the price difference I decided to give Procreate a try & worst case I could move on to Photoshop. BUT I have not looked at other options since I downloaded Procreate, I’m obsessed!! There are so many amazing features and I keep learning more from the amazing support the company provides through their Q&A on instagram, they’re website & so much more. This was a perfect tool for me to start with digital drawing but also allows for more advanced drawing.
Amazing for Gaming Edits!
by lcmari95 on 2018/11/02 23:38
If you love to edit or retouch an Avatar/Sim, this app is perfect. You can easily add shadows and highlights onto your editorials. You can also export a time lapse of your process as well as an image. I do recommend renaming each layer as you edit. And a third layer just for additional retouches. I also recommend locking the background and the avatar down so that you won’t be able to move them once you start editing. This app is a great alternative to Photoshop. It has the same basic things that Photoshop has but you have to make it work for yourself.
Savage Interactive, you guys are AMAZING!

I rarely write reviews, but I just started playing with the Pocket 2 update, and I’m kind of freaking out over how great it is. Thank you to each person who put in the effort to make this. You guys have seriously outdone yourselves! It’s like Christmas in May! Between the upgraded file sizes, Wacom stylus compatibility (which is working BEAUTIFULLY), full set of brushes, and the new color picker, this has just skyrocketed my iPhone’s ability to be a useful sketching tool and a place where I can start work to finish later on my iPad. Go team Savage Interactive!!! ♥️
There’s nothing wrong with this app for me! uwu
by Furzoia on 2018/11/10 21:02
I have procreate on my iPad and I use that. I have used procreate for pretty much a while by now so I decided to get the pocket version of this app for my phone! I have a stylus for my phone so the app is just amazing. I can see that there are bad reviews for this app, but there’s nothing really wrong with this app for me. If you have ever experienced using procreate on your iPad before, this app may work for you as well because you will already know how to use this app!! Hopefully this review helps a lot!! uwu ✨
Good, BUT image quality BAD
by Jillian$$$$ on 2018/04/18 23:42
I genuinely enjoy this app however two main things are bothering me. 1. Quality of drawing: when zooming in everything is severely pixelated and just awful. Adobedraw does not do this, I know it is possible for this to be fixed. 2. Line size: It would be lovely if the size of the drawing pens could go a bit smaller. It is difficult to do thin line art by constantly erasing half of the lines to achieve a thinner and less noticeable line art. I do want to say this is a very fun app to use!! Thank you for making one of the only decent drawing apps available to iPhones.
iCloud sync would be much appreciated
by jman98 on 2018/12/20 22:27
I have an iPad Pro and iPhone X both with their respective versions of procreate but I’ve noticed they do not support iCloud sync. I find this to be very odd that they have not already implemented the feature, seeing as how many other export and import options they support. I do enjoy the app very much overall otherwise, but would enjoy it even more so if the developers would so kindly introduce an iCloud sync &/or other file back up option for other services we may use.
Excellent Excellent and More Excellent
by Jonathon Bee Baker on 2018/05/22 03:02
This is an impressive update from the Procreate folks. I liked it before but now that it’s nearly the same as the IPad version I LOVE it. The color goes on smooth even when using my big sausage fingers. And the slight pressure sensitivity is beautiful. Makes me wish there was an IPhone 8++ to work it on. Love having all of the brushes and customization available to me and the addition of the selection and transform tool is a dream come true. Thanks Savage. Like Metallica scratched into a high school desktop. You guys “RULZ”
Can’t understand negative reviews
by Ekagrata on 2018/03/09 00:02
I started using Procreate on my iPad Pro... what an incredible app! I hesitated briefly to spend additional $$ for Procreate Pocket especially after reading the negative comments. Glad I decided to buy. So, it’s certainly not a comparable drawing, painting experience on my iPhone. But then, how could it be. This is a fun way to urban sketch, paint anywhere I find myself hanging out for a few minutes. It’s feature rich for an iPhone drawing app and well worth the few dollars.
Pretty freaking perfect!
by 20seventwenty7🐱 on 2017/04/19 22:51
This is the best drawing app I've ever downloaded for iPhone! I was a little skeptical forking over my money, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have the full version on my iPad mini and I love it to pieces. I love how smooth this app runs on my iPhone 5s. It's a very high quality app and has almost all the features of the iPad version. It's only missing Quickline and custom canvas sizes, which are even more minor features! Even so, those roadblocks can be fairly easily overcome—with a bit of practice it's easier to draw a straight line, and I can Airdrop custom canvas sizes to my phone from my iPad to import. Additionally, drawing on the 4K canvas is incredibly smooth, an enormous revolution from my iPad mini 1's (functioning) maximum of 2k x 2.5k. Overall, to anybody looking for a high-quality drawing app for iPhone, Pocket Procreate is at the top of my list!
Honest Review
by Fragie21 on 2018/11/13 03:33
I just bought the app, overall the app is okay, though some of the brushes feel “clunky” to work with when drawing with larger strokes. Also the user interface is not very friendly. For adjusting stokes and opacity the buttons are halfway tucked on the sides which makes it annoying to have to tap on and adjust the size/opacity. The arrow to go back to other canvasses on the upper left corner is small and it took me hours to figure out that was the arrow to return to the main view and not an arrow for “modify”. Also for a paid app, it should have more features and utilize onion layers (unless there is a way to do this, then it is not very clear).
What?
by Huscbhourowbh on 2019/02/16 18:29
I like this app and all that, but I have had a problem a minute ago and I need help.
Best drawing app I have seen EVER
by artsyfartsy2627 on 2018/11/17 06:01
Hiiii, I had just downloaded this app a few days ago and I really believe it’s worth the money. Now, I’m no expert here but, I just love how many tools there are and there is soooo many things you can do. Also, I love how easy and simple it is (in a good way) because most drawing apps I find are too confusing and complicated which I usually uninstall it after a few days. If you read this then keep on working hard you guys are doin great!!!! :)
Love the new update but...
by boxrib on 2018/05/22 03:55
I absolutely love all the features added in the new update! It’s so much more like the ipad now and I can finally use it for more than just doodling! However, I absolutely hate the light theme. It’s hard to look at. For an extended period of time and the light light tones make it a little hard working with colors because they make everything seem so much darker, I’d love to see a dark theme option like the original colors or at least a mid grey.
A Great Addition to the Procreate Family!
by Lelouchzer0 on 2017/08/27 16:27
Procreate for iPad is already my favorite and quite likely most used app. While using the iPad is great, there are times when inspiration strikes and I don't have my iPad on hand. Procreate pocket has served as a wonderful pocket app used for coming up with quick compositions on the go! I love the easy to use UI and the seamless transition between the software from iPhone to iPad. The perfect tool to use for the creative mind! Keep up the great work Procreate!
