Disappointed
by SlickkHen on 2021/01/13 20:49
Let me say this... I was a huge fan of this streaming app, but I’m disappointed in the sound quality you get with using tidal, if it’s not on HIFI it’s a huge drop off in the sound quality. I use Apple Music currently and they have a huge advantage because you can stream high Quality streaming and the sounds quality bust thru the speak, and you no paying $25.99 it’s an internal setting with apple you can set regarding you music. The huge plus I do like with Tidal over apple is the cross fade function 🔥 if Apple Music had that feature it would be wrap.
Eh
by 4pgnumbaa3 on 2021/01/13 19:46
I’m all for supporting a black business but this new update they have is awful. Once I start playing a song it will play for about 20 sec then my app closes out and I have to re open it and restart the song.

Can’t even login
by 8 Up on 2021/01/13 07:14

Quality
by PatekG on 2021/01/13 01:25
360 & master sound are no joke! Wish they have a good algorithm for discovery. I wish I wasn’t broke lol
Best deal for audio quality heads!
by CUPCAKE 😜 on 2021/01/12 22:20
I quit downloading pirate apps to download my music because of Tidal. The quality on the audio is insane and it obviously hosts a lot of options that make you choose it over Spotify. While it could use slight improvement on the interface options and more variety of playlists, there's nothing to complain about when it comes to ease of use and sound quality. You must be a child if you cannot figure out this app and now that you can listen to Master audiofiles just sold it to me. I wish this app got more rocognition because I truly believe it deserves more users than Apple Music and YouTube Music😬
Glitchy
by fazespongebob on 2021/01/12 22:16
This app is super good but ever since the last update a couple days ago, my whole app starts to glitch once I scroll down my playlist and it makes the app harder to use, hopefully this gets fixed
TIDAL = GOAT STREAMING APP
by ADDicted2Kickzzz on 2021/01/12 15:12
I love TIDAL, the algorithm of which is used to create playlist curated based on what I hear is top notch! The new update just made it that MUCH better! All I need now is for Siri to work with it! And to have an Apple Watch app.
CarPlay Issues
by Irritated Ilene on 2021/01/12 13:45
Utilizing CarPlay and Tidal at the same time...eh! Serious bugs need to be updated! One track will play, then either it stops and you’ll manually have to select next or the 2nd track will play as it should, but the artwork for the previous song would still be displayed! Super annoying! Please fix it! This has been happening for entirely too long!
Awesome but Needs an Apple Watch app
by 2manychailattes on 2021/01/12 09:19
Please add an Apple Watch app. I hate carrying my phone around to listen to my music on Tidal. Music quality is awesome. Can’t complain about the price. But please add an Apple Watch app soon! Thank you.
Terrible customer service
by ray_dawg on 2021/01/12 08:36
Signed up for free trial and was charged full price instead. Tidal says they cannot refund and was very short and dismissive about the issue, which appears to be with there sing up process. I am disputing charge with PayPal and will escalate with my credit card if needed.
Would Recommend
by BlessTheFall23 on 2021/01/12 07:20
Given a free subscription from buying a compatible sound system, I decided to sign up. Thinking Tidal would be just like any other Music player, I was wrong. They give more than just regular skip songs, offline playing & everyday artists. They allow you to enhance the quality of sound with “crossfade”, “loudness normalization” & autoplay. Which if you’re an everyday music listener you would appreciate. I would definitely give Tidal a try wether it’s the free trial or signing up to a paying subscription. Decisive about wether they have your favorite artists? I haven't had trouble finding my favorite artists.
Apple Watch app please
by TomcruiserMO on 2021/01/12 03:59
Music selection is decent, but I would definitely use the app more if there was the ability to stream music directly through Apple Watch. Being older, I have a decent collection of music accessible through iTunes Match but would like to hear newer music from time to time.
Off-line downloads
by DannySab on 2021/01/11 21:37
Please do something about the off-line mode. For albums you can’t sort or search in any meaningful way and it’s difficult to find what you want. Also please add a color blind mode for the shuffle button
Works when it wants
by valdeza12 on 2021/01/11 19:30
Deleted this app 3 times to had to reinstall it due to my downloaded content getting deleted. How? I have no clue. Incredibly frustrating since downloading takes such a long time. The higher quality streaming options are just as bad. My songs will say “master” but then play at “normal” and yes this happens even to downloaded content. This happens on my Tidal fire stick app as well, which forces me to delete it then reinstall it.
Differences between Tidal and the other steaming services
by JIMMY FROM THE REGION on 2021/01/11 17:16
Spotify has a probably slightly greater selection of music. The selection the Tidal has is excellent, nonetheless. Their website does not make that clear if you don’t download a free trial. Singers voices sound the same. But the musical instruments and the details of the instruments and the spacing and the interaction between the singer and the rhythm of the music and the pictures of the music is unbelievably better with Tidal. That no contest. Amazon has a longer trial of 90 days. But there are fewer ultra high definition pieces of music. I like the Amazon download. I just like the one from Tidal better. I cannot comment on the strictly classical streaming services. Their selections may be greater. I don’t know. But if you want to listen to multiple kinds of music and not only classical, then you’ll get more bang for the buck with Tidal. Classical is unbelievable with Tidal and I hope their selections of Master recordings increase. Finally, I use 1MORE Triple driver wired head phones instead of Bluetooth and got separate ear hooks. More of the music is transferred. The ear hooks make it easier to use while walking or exercising.
Overall app

900 tracks lost
by hehsshbsva on 2021/01/11 12:19
I was really vibing and enjoying the app, it has pretty good performance. However I spent a lot of time downloading a lot of music and then the app suddenly logged me out and everything was gone? I know there’s an option to regain downloaded content but for someone like me who’s internet is trash, it’s really discouraging.
Best playlist
by Shawnlf on 2021/01/11 07:29
I tried to be cheap and just use Apple Music in the bundle package, but I truly missed Tidal’s playlist. 1st world problems, but it’s what brought me back. JBP, come to Tidal now!
Great service, terribly buggy app!
by TheSeattleTheory on 2021/01/11 06:11
The Hifi got me to leave a big competitor that I’ve used for nearly a decade, but the app is very glitchy. Sync issues with CarPlay are incredibly frustrating along with the mobile app getting bogged down when doing too much at once or downloading/sorting large playlists. Still seems very odd to slow down an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Please fix app!
Recommendations or their algorithms are trash
by Corporate America on 2021/01/11 04:24
Seriously is there a way to downvote artist you’re not into? I keep getting recommendations and playlists for these artists I never even played a track of. This needs to be fixed. Do something Spotify doesn’t even let you do.
Trash
by Jaylin💋 on 2021/01/11 02:25
I used to like this app but over the past few weeks every time I start listening to music it’ll play for 2 minutes then cut off. I have tried deleting the app & redownloading to see if that will help but no change. Also sometimes if I pause a song & press play the song won’t play. Extremely annoying.
Buggy when using node 2i connect
by Nus user on 2021/01/10 18:54
App frequently freezes or automatically closes when using node2i. In addition, the playing screen frequently does not sync up with the song as songs change and only displays the previous song that was playing.
Sort Albums
by King🎩T👑 on 2021/01/10 13:03
I wish I could sort albums by artist, either than that the app is good.
Album Cover Artwork is a Problem
by Tusk69 on 2021/01/10 11:25
Why can’t your UI and UX people get your horribly executed album artwork situation resolved for Playlists ?!? The album artwork graphics at the top of playlists are so tiny now, and you can barely see the album covers. Your latest design/interface is a far cry from a few years ago when you smartly utilized album cover art in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner. Additionally, when I’m looking at a playlist there’s no album artwork next to the titles of each song. Generally speaking, a graphical user interface (GUI) needs to be *graphical* in order to use it more easily. Not to mention, the album artwork is aesthetically pleasing and artistically important. Where are the graphics ?!? You guys really need to get it together. You have the worst album graphics of any major music player I’ve seen.
The app needs a LOT of polish but I’m rooting for the service.
by ItsTheArsonist on 2021/01/10 03:56
The app has REALLY weird bugs that haven’t seen in competing music services. Examples: the CarPlay app doesn’t seem to “talk” to the phone app, so it doesn’t resume tracks or playlists you’re already listening to when you plug into your car; it will finish a track, then continue the audio for the next track but it doesn’t seem “turnover to the next track” and show the track info, album artwork, etc. so you have to manual press Next Track to get that done; and so on. There’s other less acceptable stuff like the app doesn’t have proper Siri support STILL, when you send commands to Siri or get turn-by-turn guidance from Apple Maps (I’m not using Waze, lose that advertising for my paid subscription, btw), take a phone call, etc., sometimes, Tidal will not resume playing afterwards or worse completely lose the track, album, or playlist. I’m rooting for them to compete with Spotify and Apple Music because it seems that they have exciting ideas on this service and the others have grown complacent and/or have put music (and musicians) on the back burner in favor of podcasts and other stuff but they really need to improve this app to fight with the heavyweights. I’ll give them a few more months to get their stuff together and get the app right to keep me on Tidal long term. Please take my money and keep innovating!

Bugs Galore
by @Jrosenb on 2021/01/08 23:27
The sound quality is unparalleled however, the bugs that plague this app make it almost unusable on modern iPhone and Mac hardware. The app constantly crashes and starts layering songs on top of each other when you hit the skip button. Often times the app fails to recognize that you are online and kicks you to downloaded only mode.
Lyrics ASAP
by ashay-j on 2021/01/08 21:20
I love tidal other than not having an option for lyrics. That is the only reason I favor apple.
Terrible App
by xxl33tshrekskoper420xx on 2021/01/08 18:32
This app is straight up GARBAGE. Sometimes the music will just stop playing altogether. I will ask Siri to pause my music, then ask it to unpause and literally nothing happens. Jay-Z, you are a billionaire. Hire some better programmers. Only reason it’s not zero stars is because the sound quality is top notch.
Great for mobile but not pc or Mac
by Denslayer on 2021/01/08 17:43
If your able to have great internet at home and can stream its fine but you can’t download on a pc or Mac . My practice / sound room has no internet so I’m unable to use tidal , unless I use Bluetooth from my which defeats the point

Great content, but no compatibility with Siri
by davidobst on 2021/01/08 11:16
The title speaks for itself. Everything the app has to offer is great. It would be perfect if I could navigate the app hands free through Siri while driving
Just get it
by apple=greed on 2021/01/08 03:37
If you have decent speakers, Tidal delivers. Haven’t noticed any issues streaming lossless with a chromecast or in the car via usb. I used Apple Music for over 5 years and I would consider it wasted time at this point.
Great quality, selection, design, just missing a few features
by acromyth on 2021/01/07 20:43
I switch from Apple Music (just didn’t enjoy the mixes anymore) and then Spotify (quality wasn’t great) and was really impressed with Tidal. The only thing holding me back from a perfect score is things like the lack of lyrics on the app, and I wish there were more mixes of music I haven’t heard before. But it sounds amazing and has tons of artists, so I’ll probably stick with this.
What more can I say

by Jendays on 2021/01/07 01:27
Amazing app and love everything about it except it seems like it doesn’t do background downloads when my phone is asleep? So if I wanna download a playlist to a phone for a trip on the road it doesn’t continue the download overnight
Nothing like an app that takes forever to load

Make compatible w/ Apple Watch
by Yung Mariuchi on 2021/01/06 01:48
This app would be perfect if made compatible with Apple watches. Going to the gym with my phone just to listen to music is lame. Especially if all it takes is a quick update to make this app compatible with my watch. Get on tht HOV!
Awesome! But missing something?
by Perfect system on 2021/01/06 01:35
I love this app so much but there’s a few things missing causing me to stick with Apple Music or others. Please add a “genre”! I would also like the option to add a song to my library on Apple CarPlay while it’s playing.
Paid for Premium Family- Update and it’s Gone
by Erî on 2021/01/06 00:27
We pay for premium family and I found out the update killed my service and asked me to pay for premium (again). My husband works third shift so I can’t wake him up to ask for our info until tomorrow. So irritating.
Disappointed
by jimmiler on 2021/01/06 00:14
I was expecting more from this app, interface needs work, GUI needs work. The lack of artists discography was a huge disappointment. If you have another music provider keep using because this one has a long way to go if it wants to compete and stay relevant.
Dropping stars
by Shane198634 on 2021/01/05 22:21
Sometimes when searching an artist, you type in the name & hit search. The artist pops up & you tap their name. Then a screen pops up with a no internet service and says “tap to retry”. Tapping the screen does absolutely nothing so you have to back out and tap the band name again. Sometimes it will work & other times you can do it a dozen times and it won’t come up. This is a major annoyance when you’re driving and wanna change tracks or listen to a new artist & it happens. If it weren’t for this glitch I would give the app 5 stars but because this happens daily multiple times on different artist searches..... other wise I’m a fan of Tidal.

App keeps buffering

It’s frustrating when the app keeps buffering and saying “audio is playing on another device”. This happens often and is disappointing. I will likely be switching to solely Apple Music.
It’s the little things that count.
by Chrisaveli19 on 2021/01/05 15:19
I’m on day 2 of my Tidal trial. The quality is leaps beyond what Apple Music and Spotify are putting out but please the app could use small things that would be immense features. I would love to see public playlists, not just what Tidal has created for said artist. Another thing is playlist customization, let me add a cover picture for my playlist and share it on tidal. The biggest let down I noticed is the cross fade feature, I can’t cross fade into or out of master tracks but I can onto normal hifi tracks? It doesn’t make any sense, $25 price tag should see that these little issues should be solved immediately if I’m going to renew after the month. So so so much potential! Please get these features on here and you’ll see the growth.
Too much rap

Great sound, app has technical issues
by lukester_2222 on 2021/01/04 23:57
The song selection is very good, although I wish more artists had the master version on the app. The sound quality is definitely superior to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. The search functionality is flawed and makes it unnecessarily difficult to find music. Sometimes I get glitches where I can’t play a song or it’ll turn off shuffle. Otherwise, I enjoy it.

Unhappy
by stupididneeded on 2021/01/04 07:02
I am very unhappy. I have an older phone and now as of this new update I can no longer get Tidal. I am not sure if I am going to keep the subscription or not as this was the reason I got it in the first place. Very very unhappy. Will have to find another music venue that I can use on my phone.
Forced algorithm
by boyfromthedwarf9 on 2021/01/04 02:48
I never want to use an algorithm anywhere. This forces you to pick "favorite artists" upon account creation. One star for the forced onboarding. What do you think a heart would mean? Why do you think you have to tell me?
Beautiful sound at a price
by Lord Jimbles on 2021/01/04 02:31
Phenomenal sound quality, but be prepared to pay for it.
Flexible plans, and unparalleled sound quality.
by TheTrueRater5050 on 2021/01/03 23:38
First off, Tidal is great because it doesn’t underpay artists, like Spotify. It also offers the best audio quality I’ve ever heard in a streaming service. I am a high school student, and being able to get HiFi for half the price is very awesome! The app is easy to use and has almost all the songs I want to listen to. My only suggestion would be to make an Apple Watch app, but that isn’t necessary.
Load of crap.
by Electricsheep1 on 2021/01/03 19:28
Now that I have your attention. I discovered it costs $10 more to join the hifi family plan through the Apple app store. Fellow consumers, it is $30 ($40 on the Tidal Apple app) if you go through PC or Android (or an internet browser) so sign up and pay through that, be careful going through Apple so you don’t get ripped off. That aside, this app and streaming service is wonderful.

by Katara424 on 2021/01/03 11:40

Extremely Annoyed
by GBenetton on 2021/01/03 08:20
I have an iPhone X and have always had a specific problem with this app. I am on iOS 14.3. The app randomly black screens after a while of being installed. Even after power cycling my phone. The only solution is to uninstall the app, reinstall it, and sign in again. I am certain that my phone is not full of junk as I have restored it (not from back up) recently and I keep it generally clean. This is especially annoying when trying to show someone a song or getting in the car. Please fix this. I am an mqa subscriber but if the app doesn’t even work then I might as well switch to Apple Music...

Suggestion
by krykro on 2021/01/03 02:34
You guys should make this app. Siri compatible on IPhones. Had the app for about 8 to 10 years now and I don’t like that I can’t say “hey Siri” and change my songs or play a song off the app.
Great Aesthetic, Not So Great In Use
by alexvat02 on 2021/01/03 01:56
Even though this app was directed towards hip-hop, I am glad that they made some changes for others who are not interested in that genre. For myself I only listen to classical, and I have been glad to be able to find most of the albums I am looking for. I really enjoy the aesthetics of this app, they did a really good job on that front. However, the problem I have is with the use. While it isn’t great, it’s not a dealbreaker for me. It’s just annoying how the app will sometimes not load something when it should and I have to restart my phone or even install the entire app again. If this app could run like Spotify and keep its looks, this would be the best music app. I will still be keeping it because of the wonderful Master class music that is offered and the aesthetics. However, I do hope that they work on some bug fixes in the future.
More just bug complaints
by mabisonline on 2021/01/02 23:10
Most likely a quick fix, but when I start listening to an album it usually enables the repeat mode by default almost and that should be turned off by default so we can just listen straight through. The other issue I have is sometimes my library will revert to its first state...ie only maybe 2% of the albums in my collection when I was first building it loads, maybe partly due to a spotty internet connection and maybe partly due to server end.
Mediocre at best
by p1ed p1per on 2021/01/02 22:15
It works. That’s good. But the devs need to focus on carplay operations. It’s trash. Cant select “repeat 1” option unless selected from phone. Any current playlist will never play straight through. It may play 2 songs straight, then doesn’t register a song change unless i use my car to change fwd, and at that point it plays the previously played song(remember it never registered a change in song). The artist list shows “top songs” only instead of showing their albums so that you can be more precise in song selection whilst driving. Its just...a big mediocre carplay app. Soundcloud works better and you cant even open it without using the phone.
Disappointing Interface
by Elizabeth Wescom on 2021/01/02 19:56

The App
by Zayyuh Grande on 2021/01/02 02:48
I would say tidal and Spotify are the 2 best music streaming services currently but for 2 different qualities one being tidal having the best streaming quality of music which is their Master and HIFI option not to mention their overpriced plan for it but that’s all that tidal really has to offer while on the other hand Spotify has good streaming quality with a EQ to adjust your music to your preference and the app usability is so much better, cleaner, and fast so just using the app and all the features on Spotify overall just overrule tidal
Your app is awful!
by 2Teenswithphones on 2021/01/02 02:21
Why is there no longer feature to search by genre? The quality of the music is great but I have to spend a lot of time figuring out what I want to play. If I pit jazz in the search bar it only comes back with like 10 top items. What is that? The app is not intuitive at all. No radio station option from search bar. Please work on this!!
Needs Lyrics - watch out for Amazon!
by AudioChaz on 2021/01/02 01:44
TIDAL Sound is great. Totally. although the concept of MQA “unfolding” is confusing, and not really done by my high-end Streamer / Dac pair so I’m pretty sure I’m only getting CD quality (16 bit 44khz) signals. Which still sound excellent though. But Now that evil Amazon offers HD music for a lower price, I’m more than a little worried as to whether Tidal will be able to survive for more than a couple more years... In terms of sound quality, the amazon HD streams sound about as good as Tidal. And they don’t require an exclusive DAC to “unfold”. So unless TIDAL 1) Helps to make cheaper MQA dacs available 2) Lowers the subscription fee to match amazon HD 3) Adds lyrics I’ll bet Amazon’s HD service will win out in the end. Which will be a shame...
Issues with playing music

Shuffle feature needs tuning
by 19Samael96 on 2021/01/01 06:16
Tidal is an amazing music streaming service really. My only or few complaints are the following 1) shuffling music. Even though I shuffle and skip songs it always has the same play queue quite frankly annoying sometimes. I mean I don’t have 572 songs on a playlist you would think you wouldn’t be able to predict the next song but you do. 2) lyrics like come on tidal you are Artists owned and you don’t want people trying to sing along. 3) whenever I search a artist tidal will fail to load the page. Overall I enjoy I still give them my money because I love how they pay streams to artist

Great for Sound Quality, mediocre as an app
by chefben2 on 2021/01/01 05:08
Tidal has by far and away the best sound quality of any of the music apps. If sound quality is most important to you, this is probably your app. However, as an app it sometimes feels unfinished and broken. I have all of my music downloaded to my phone, yet sometimes it will just spin like it is buffering indefinitely. I have to close the app and sometimes restart my phone to get it working again. The Apple CarPlay integration is terrible. There are so many bugs when I use the app in my car with CarPlay. Sometimes it won’t show what’s playing, sometimes it won’t automatically go to the next track and I have to do it manually every time. Sometimes it won’t shuffle. Sometimes it won’t read my playlists at all. I have to unplug my phone, close the app and plug my phone in again to fix these bugs a lot of the time. Not ideal. If the sound quality wasn’t as good as it is, I would have switched to another app as this makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.
Deserves Better
by .: LoveFire :. on 2021/01/01 00:14
(1) serious bug with this app, whenever you leave the app and come back the app is unresponsive. The only way to fix is to completely close the app and reopen it. I refused to pay for this app with that kind of flaw. (2) discounts for people who are on disability would be nice, we do suffer greatly much like vets do.
Setting pictures for playlist
by zzz.jay on 2020/12/31 20:51
My aunt hit me up one day and let me hop on her subscription, and I haven’t looked back ever since. I love the app. Only thing missing would be the ability to set pictures for playlists just like Apple Music or Spotify. Thanks.

Tidal review
by UnknownAgent009 on 2020/12/31 14:46
Tidal is pretty good. The audio quality is excellent, probably the best for streaming apps. There are some library issues with the app, specifically listing albums from different bands with the same name with the wrong artist. There are some gaps in the selection, but not many and with the somewhat recent addition of Metallica, a large portion of those gaps has been filled.
Great music quality but keeps freezing and crashing
by Grapeonzales on 2020/12/31 04:45
Great music quality but keeps freezing and crashing. Not worth the price. Which is sad because I’m all about good music quality, really loved hearing the master level fidelity. But the frustration of it stopping playing randomly or not loading a song or album is just too much. Spotify is reliable, and reliability is crucial
Best music service
by Fireace08 on 2020/12/30 20:57
I love Tidal. It has the best collection of music, the UI is perfect and easy to navigate, the curated playlists are awesome and sound quality is superb. A note to the devs: can you please add track times in the album info, that would be amazing. Also, apple watch support would be great too.
So much potential...
by dudemanguy711 on 2020/12/30 15:09
In theory, Tidal should be the best streaming app out there. It sounds amazing, has plenty of great features, it’s easy to find new releases and they pay artists more than the other major services. The problem is they don’t seem to do a very good job listening to their users and the app is constantly plagued by random glitches. My biggest personal complaints are about the poor library organization which makes browsing your saved music cumbersome. Here are some things I would love to see improved... - No scroll bar / alphabet dividers in album library, forces you to scroll endlessly - Downloaded albums can’t be organized -Search function is absolutely terrible, sometimes populates literally hundreds of results with completely different spellings before accurately spelled search -Can’t shuffle play saved album library -Can’t organize saved albums by genre -Would prefer large thumbnails with long press functions for saved albums instead of basic list (other sections of app have this) -Saved artists not actually part of library -CarPlay app is a joke, barely functions and freezes or repeats song after playing -Apple TV app lacking most features of regular app, can’t turn off loudness normalization -Frequently disconnects from Sonos when using as a controller

I live my new Tidal app. I’ve been a hard copy or locally hosted digital guy forever and finally made the plunge with Tidal. No regrets. As a veteran, it’s a great deal and a US owned company unlike the competition. Great playlists and it’s easy to recreate my collection. The app has given me zero technical problems. Recommended.

Seems under cancel subscription you can click cancel subscription, you are directed to a questionnaire, only to submit your answers only to reload the same page over and over, only to find you the service was downgraded but not ended. So you go in circles with them. Customer service is non existent. Avoid!!!

by PonoSunrider on 2020/12/29 23:42
It’s great to have my playlists but it’s really slow. My wifi on myinternetspeed shows I have 30-40mbps, but when I stream on Tidal it slows down to 9mbps, no other apps running while testing with and without Tidal, my kids are out so no one else is using our WiFi. Am I forced to only use it on PC where I’m directly connected to the LAN? I have to test it on my iPhone 11 some time. It shouldn’t be this slow. Skipping tracks causes buffering and takes time to load. I’m disappointed but hey, it was $4 for Black Friday. When my sub ends I’ll look for another streaming deal

MQA content now available(with 1 issue). Tidal is a must have!
by Pmdagg on 2019/04/02 02:04
I have had tidal for about 10 months now and I’ve gotten the most out of what apple offered when it comes to streaming HiFi music. One thing that was a small disappointment with the iOS app before was the inability to play MQA (Masters) content. The only way to utilize MQA content was via my MacBook Air desktop app. Today I was fooling around with the app settings and noticed that Tidal updated the app in version 2.7 to allow iPhone users the ability to listen to MQA content. I assumed this wasn’t ever going to happen due to apple’s hardware. Well now this app, which already deserves 5 stars(apples problem not tidal) has made it a must have service for Audiofile music lovers like myself. Listening to Tidal MQA music on the iPhone X with my sennheiser HD600’s through apples USB camera adapter connecting with my audio quest dragonfly red finally gives iPhone users the desired music quality they deserve. There’s not an IOS app that I’m aware of that allows better than CD quality streaming than Tidal. It’s now worth every penny spent! The only problem is that not all MQA content downloads as MQA. Some so, some don’t Oh yea, if your a military veteran you can sign up for a discounted monthly offer for the top notch account that saves you $4 a month. Thanks Tidal!
Just a few issues...
by Zay2293 on 2020/07/01 17:09
almost at the end of my free trial. PLEASE add an apple watch app. I hate having to carry my iphone with me when I workout just to listen to music, due to your lack of an app for the apple watch. Also, when connected to car bluetooth, the app glitches. when I leave the car, the music will pause. but when I get back in the car, it will not automatically start playing again. it makes me manually force close the app on my iphone and go back into the tidal app to resume playing (this also restarts the song i was playing, and sometimes the whole playlist. very annoying). i didn’t have this issue with apple music. I get “error loading this content” when trying to load my playlists through apple carplay, which, again, forces me to manually pull out my phone and do it from there. hopefully tidal reads this review and fixes these issues, as this would truly perfect the app and I would leave 5 stars. the sound quality is amazing, music definitely sounds the way the artist intended. the layout takes a little getting use to if you’re use to apple music, but I actually now prefer the layout of tidal. i love the tidal mixes and the different stations that they have available. it could be a perfect app if they fix these issues. not sure if i’ll be continuing to use it after my free trial ends, the lack of an apple watch app and the glitches that I put up with on daily basis (the ones I listed earlier) are a big turn off for me.
Great offerings and a little room for improvement
by pw sf on 2020/07/06 05:13
All good but for one thing... the interface is more wonky and illogical than it should be. I like the ability in Apple Music to just play all of my songs on shuffle when I don’t want to spend time thinking about what to queue up. Why can’t I do this on TIDAL? Seems like a feature that could be added without effort. I also am a little baffled about how from my phone, laptop and Apple TV app the placement of items is different... I’m actually not that in to videos but on Apple TV TIDAL seems to view audio only offerings as the least important item... they do know that many people run their high end stereo systems using the app... currently one has to scroll all the way down through the same classic videos and movies to find new music, and after I play a new release it kicks me back to the top when all I wanted back up one step and play the next new track or a different new album. Huh? They have focus groups and all that they take feedback from right? But if I swallow my irritation with these kind of inexplicable weirdnesses TIDAL is the best of the streaming crowd. Please developers note the flexibility and ease we all need and up your game the rest of the way... if this is your best please know it’s not keeping up with the other guys.
Almost the best music app ever!
by Latinomanhayes14 on 2020/06/30 01:25
What I mean by almost is other than the fact that the audio has been mastered and or remastered or however they put it, one thing that would be cool that I have noticed with other music apps, is that lyrics are available for songs! Sometimes I get carried away with the quality that this app brings to music but I would love to be able to sing along with songs that I am getting to know or even my favorite songs that I don’t know the lyrics to! I don’t know if this review will even be read by the developers but if that is something that you might be able to incorporate in the not so distant future, I feel like many more people, other than myself, would greatly appreciate this feature! It’s so nice to be able to listen to CD and studio quality versions of songs. There’s so many sounds that I really missed out on and I only go back on my old music apps to look up songs that I have saved just so I can listen to them on tidal! Definitely worth the money or free trial, which ever you can get your hands on!
Great Audio Quality, App can use some work...
by Xjoker90 on 2020/09/18 00:50
So this app delivers on audio quality I don’t think anyone can argue that. I used to be use tidal when they had the rotating record (which was really cool) and then left when Apple Music came out and was more affordable and worked well within the apple eco system. I recently came back to tidal about a month ago as I did miss the quality of music, but after being so used to an optimized Apple Music app, coming to this has had its frustrations. First thing I did was transfer my music and then downloaded it to my phone so I can have MQA and HiFi when not on WiFi, which took a while but that was expected. I noticed some annoyances right away. Playing a song, stopping in the middle of it and then coming back to it almost never works. The song just doesn’t start playing and I have to restart the song or skip to the next one. Going to my downloaded collection takes too long for my taste to load, I find myself just waiting for tidal to load my music when I’m trying to play it. These little annoyances haven’t kept me away yet but if they can’t fix it I may switch back to Apple Music, which is a shame since I do really like the quality tidal offers. The Apple TV app also has is nuisances
Read the Zappos book on customers
by jmarcus on 2018/11/23 18:21
I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.
App review: Great but needs essential updates!
by Ing on 2019/06/15 03:33
Ok, Tidal gets a lot right... sounds great, especially the MQA stuff ... closest to analog I’ve heard thus far (HiFi tier only)... I’d give their service 4 stars, it’s the app I give 3...the app misses because there’s no easy way to search when you are in offline mode, which is a must do when trying to make sure you don’t waste data downloading hi-res files! Need shuffle within artist, better playlist controls... maybe even a toggle for making sure it only downloads over WiFi? I don’t know, I like Tidal a lot, especially after my iTunes library was messed up due to its inherently flawed “matching” system... obviously there is no matching abilities with Tidal at all, the draw for me is having a separate rental app and having my iTunes library synced from my Mac Pro without “matching” deciding to match random tracks with different masters from the album a track is originally from or screwing up my cover art... anyway, the MQA and full resolution downloads make Tidal is very very realistic and tempting alternative for the long haul for music rental. Wish the desktop version allowed downloads for offline listening too... Random missing albums are an issue too... why certain albums aren’t available is odd especially if an artist is on Tidal and the album isn’t that old...
My Only Problems
by rocavija on 2018/03/22 01:08
I've been a dedicated Apple Music user for years but I'm looking for a change so I created a trial account and so far I've been loving it! Most music streaming services are similar so there really isn't anything revolutionary about another streaming service, it's all about preference. Tidal is a great service that provides a great app, but I have three problems with the app and web browser that are making the service difficult to fully enjoy. I don't like that it's not possible to save specific tracks of an album as ONE album, instead they save as "tracks" as a seperate category. I'm a neat freak so I like oragnization and that method of seperateing between tracks and albums is inconvenient. There should be a page for albums (you can save any tracks you want from the album) and there should be a tracks page where ALL the songs in your library are shown and there should be the option to play ALL the tracks on shuffle, or in order, etc. I also don't like that there isn't an option to organize albums by artist AND release date. The first and problem is far more important to me than the second one. I hope Tidal would make this change, if they do, they'll have a subscriber for life.
User Interface gets worse every update
by 1483794583655 on 2020/08/07 06:00
Each update that changes the user interface/design is usually for the worse. I’ve been able to get used to the changes until recently. 95% of my time on the app is spent in the download albums page which used to look very nice and clean. The background of the app was a sleek black and the downloaded albums page was very minimalist and asthetically pleasing. Now the background is an outdated dark grey and the album covers got a lot smaller (making the unused space more noticeable). It seems they were trying to make room for the year the album was published and whether the album is explicit or mastered. This is information that you don’t need when looking through albums you’ve downloaded to your personal collection and are already familiar with. Things like that have always been contained in the info tab of albums once you click on them and that worked great to keep it out of the way. Also the album artworks jolt when you press them which I can only describe as a cheap feeling animation that isnt all that responsive in the first place. In summary, I’m really disappointed with the way the interface looks now and when I scroll through my albums - I’m not nearly as excited to use or return to the app. Please consider making the UI sleek like it used to be.
Best of them all but just one thing.........
by JustMyOpinion🤷🏼‍♂️ on 2020/10/13 23:01
Great sound quality!!! Only one thing keeping it from getting 5 stars from me. Lyrics. Where are the lyrics??? Why does just about everyone else have this feature and the touting itself as the top dog doesn’t is beyond me. Sound quality over lyrics is definitely my choice for sure, but come one. Something so basic, so average for all the other platforms and you guys don’t have this yet is absolutely crazy. Sure, I could get another app to do that, but why should I? You add that and 5 starts it is. Right now I’m choosing a simple work around. iOS 14.2 beta 1 has Shazam built into the control panel. No need to download Shazam separately. Start the song and click that, and up pops the lyrics. Easy, but when the next song starts to play, you have to do it again. Easy, like I say, but shouldn’t be needed. Currently using iOS 14.2 beta 2 which hasn’t had any improvements on that yet, just a bunch of new emojis. Guess we’ll wait and see if they hurry up and do something that will add their own lyrics in their own app, rather than depend on another company to do it for them. You want the 5 stars, get it done then. Other than that, best of the best!!! 👍
Terrible, not worth the $$$$$.
by Howy Doody on 2020/06/23 02:20
I like hi quality sound having grownup with vinyl as basically the only form of recorded music. That said, I find it hard to conceptualize how HiFi, being analog by nature, can be completely reproduced in a digital environment. That said, I thought I would give it a try and might have even heard a little difference but for the $25 per month I am not sure it is worth it. Considering that is more money monthly than 2 HD video streaming services and considering that TIDAL doesn’t seem to interface well nor does it feel very intuitive. But, here is my biggest pet peeve; I contacted them for service and found no phone support! Twenty-five dollars per month and no phone support! Outrageous! Worse, I emailed them and 3 days later they responded and so it went. Two weeks later they had not even figured out my account. I am not used to being treated like that especially for $300 per year. If we are going to pay that kind of money for music streaming service they should be prepared to treat us like royalty. HD music from Apple and Pandora sounds good to me and while some may be saying I don’t have an ear, I studied voice with one of the top coaches in the country with gold records on his wall from a number of his students and my father was one of jazz’s greats. I am willing to pay for what I get if it’s worth it but I ain’t paying for a limo and riding the bus!
Best source for high end sound!
by Scudman on 2019/09/17 18:23
I just purchased a new stereo system and the first thing I wanted to do was upgrade the music sources since MP3 was not cutting it for me anymore. With a pair of B&W 702s and a new Denon AVR-4500H, is wasn’t scrimping on the equipment and I certainly wasn’t going to scrimp on the sound sources anymore so when I found Tidal, I jumped headfirst and amped up to be able to get MQA files, both streaming and downloading. Ran into a little snag though and that was the iPhone wouldn’t send MQA files wirelessly so kept digging and ended up purchasing a Cobalt Dragonfly DAC and connected it to the iPhone via their lightning camera kit to allow the Dragonfly to connect via USB. I then connected it to my amp with a mini jack coming out of the Dragonfly and split to a pair of RCA outlets into an analog connection. Cooking now! Fantastic sound!! My only complaint is that a friend sent me a playlist with about 2000 songs on it and it’s too unwieldy to scroll through. I’ve downloaded all the songs via the playlist but can’t find them outside of the playlist. No new Albums or Artists show up, just the one playlist. Tidal, please fix this!
The Music quality is unrivaled, still no Siri or Apple Watch integration
by _StarQuality on 2020/10/29 20:48
I’m not an expert in audio so I honestly didn’t have any expectations that I would notice any difference between NORMAL quality and the MASTER, but I have to say I was blown away. The master quality is superb, songs I’ve listened to hundreds of times completely transform, and all the details, layered sound, and 3 dimensional effect take the music to elevated level of intimacy. I appreciate Tidal for providing a studio quality experience. However, I really wish that lyrics where available in the app I think any true music platform should have a lyrics feature. Also, since such a large portion of tidal subscribers use Apple devices it would be nice if there were Siri integration and Apple Watch compatibility for this app. I want nothing more to be able to ask Siri to play my “morning drive” playlist in the tidal app. And I wish I could leave my phone in the house to go for a morning jog and still be able to stream my favorite songs on tidal on my Watch. The Apple Watch has come so far and I use to make calls, check the news, and stream my favorite podcasts why can’t I browse thru my tidal music selection from my watch ?
Pleasantly surprised
by Iphone 007 on 2019/03/14 11:47
I’m a mastering engineer so as you can my expectations were high for sound quality. I knew the HiFi $20/month would sound better than any other streaming service but I didn’t want to pay that much right now. So I decided to test the premium version (320kbps) against Spotify’s Extreme version (320kbps) and to my surprise Tidal was cleaner, more depth, and overall changed my experience. I am now sold to Tidal until the competition decides to raise their music quality to at least match Tidal’s premium. Tidal still has some work to do to match Spotify’s features like blocking explicit tracks and better integration with other systems like Alexa. And one of the most annoying things about Tidal for me was the constant push of hip hop in your face. I got over it once I started to play more what I liked. The home screen improved a lot after that. But if you’re serious about sound quality and still hesitating spending $20 a month don’t because their $10 version beats any other $10 service.
waiting for the Apple Watch app
by Tjovian on 2020/01/28 08:42
I’ve been using iTunes and Apple Music solely for 15 years and I’ve stayed locked into the ecosystem because it was convenient and familiar, but after I was given a turn-table as a gift a year ago I rediscovered the beauty of vinyl. I began to record my vinyls as lossless files you listen to on the go in the VOX app, but the app is terribly buggy, crashes often, and after a recent update keeps nagging me to buy a premium subscription to play music I already own, which is just ridiculous. I decided that if I had to pay subscription fees, I’d be better off looking for a service that could save me the hassle of having to record my vinyls, encode, split, tag, and transfer to my mobile devices and was deciding between trying Tidal and Qobuz, but wound up picking Tidal due to the reviews I read and the price point (HiFi access with student pricing for $5?!?, I couldn’t sign up fast enough). I still have Apple Music so I can listen to audio using just my cellular Apple Watch when I’m mowing the lawn or out kayaking, but the 2 hours a day I spend commuting is more luxurious now that I’m able to easily play hi-res audio on my Harman Kardon system in my car.
Good but could be better
by Medolarklime on 2020/03/25 15:06
The main reason i switched from other platforms is because of Jay Z availability and other artists’ partnerships. One of the most frustrating parts of the app is the necessity of having to manually add artists to collection when adding their songs. This should be either automatic or i should be given the option to make it automatic. Also why aren’t songs added to my collection, on the mobile app, a different color or some other way to identify??? I can clearly see on the non mobile version the green heart icon. Also, on the mobile app, why do i have to scroll thru my 3000 plus songs without a quick scroll option? If filtered alphabetically, and the song starts with a “z”, i have to scroll thru 2999 songs!! Also playback has issues I thought stemmed from my 7 year old iPhone 6 but they continued with my brand new 11. The App will periodically freeze and buffer. Sometimes wont play songs that I’ve played literally 30 seconds before. Shuts down by itself. Automatically reverts to shuffling songs recently played for some reason. Etc. I haven’t completely let go of my other subscription because of these issues.

I absolutely love this streaming service! I have a very eclectic mind and listen to everything from Disney to Country to Pop to Rap, and most genres in between. One thing that I would love to see on here though is the option to search in your own playlist. I have almost 2,000 songs on my “Everyday” playlist, and it can be daunting to scroll and try to remember what number the song was. To make this easier as well, if there was a way to put artists/songs in alphabetical order from a cell phone on your individual playlist, that would be helpful. Even if a search option isn’t in the near future. I know that it is possible from a PC but I haven’t been able to on my phone. One feature that was added that I am extremely grateful for, was the “duplicate” feature. Some songs I hear on the radio, think to add them on my playlist, and before I wouldn’t know that it was already on there, but now I do! It was just in the mix of the 2,000 that I already have. All in all, I love the service/app and will (and do) recommend it to anyone that asks what I use.
Music is good, UX is so-so
by carode on 2020/02/03 00:49
The master quality recordings sound noticeably better. The selection of music is pretty impressive. I use it most of the time on my phone in my car via a Bluetooth device called Tune2Air, but also on my iPad with a Bluetooth speaker at home. The UI/UX of the app itself leaves lots to be desired. It often doesn’t remember where you left off on a playlist—either starts from the top or it replays songs you already heard the last time you listened. It does nor retain whether you had a playlist on shuffle or not, or at least it doesn’t keep shuffling if that’s what you were using. It’s not easy to create playlists, not intuitive—far too many taps and you can only add one song at a time. Yeah, that’s right, it’s a a music app that makes it unpleasant to create playlists. I’ve also done searches for an exact song name, spelled it right, and it says “no results.” Then I search instead for the artist and I find the song. Weird. I recommend you hire some peeps to develop your app properly, Tidal. The quality of your app is nowhere near the quality of the content you offer. But it should be. Frustrating.
Almost perfect application that gets ruined every few updates
by XxjuanxX on 2020/07/13 15:57
I have been a long-time customer of TIDAL. While I love the streaming quality and the layout/design of the application, the last few updates have been terrible. It takes forever for saved tracks to load (only showing the blinking T Icon for 30 to 45 seconds - rendering you unable to play music at that very moment until your tracks fully load). Due to the changes in streaming quality from track to track, when a lower quality song finishes, the next higher quality song may not play until you manually go in and hit play or skip the track. The app uses lots of battery power. Would be nice to have the additional speaker output settings provided on the Desktop version of Tidal when streaming via Bluetooth to a dedicated speaker. Also, Please bring back the suggested tracks by swiping left! Tried reporting bugs through the website but kept getting errors on multiple occasions. I love Tidal and prefer it over all other streaming platforms. Once these few issues are addressed - it will be a 5 star application!
5 stars is not enough!!!!!!!&
by moorejason1981 on 2019/05/06 22:44
Tidal app is what I spent most of my time on. Far as I know they have everything but Tool. I’m sure it’s not cause Tidal forgot. Tidal when playing MASTER QUALITY sounds better than any streaming app I ever wasted my time on. Not all albums or artist are in MQA. But I love seeing that (M) beside a track or by an album. I’m so glad ISO finally got MQA. I knew they was working on it and the day I could play Tidal on my new iPhone XS Max an email was sent and I been blown away by every update and the awesome interface and of course all the music you can search for. Make sure you know they spelling of the band or you may think Tidal doesn’t have it. But sure enough they do. Do yourself all a favor go on and get Tidal HIFI/MQA!!! It’s the one that cost more. Not premium that one is not the best one. It’s still good but spend a few bucks more and listen to the sound!!!!!!!!! Can’t say enough. Jammin right now!!!!!’ Tidal is hands down the best app on my iPhone to date. Thank you to everybody at Tidal!!!!!
Love this app but 2 things I hate.
by shebej on 2020/03/26 10:43
I really used to like tidal but I hate updating the app because there’s always changes that I absolutely HATE. I’ve had it for a few years but what happened to the artist radio stations?!? Did the “mix” replace them? If so, I don’t like that because it doesn’t really allow me to listen to music based off of an artist or song I’m currently into. I also don’t like that if I pause a song or go out of the app it doesn’t play the last song I was listening to or just pick back up where it was paused. It ALWAYS goes back to the song that was playing when I first started listening to a play list or album 😠 sooo annoying. So, if it started on the first song originally it will ALWAYS go back to the first song unless I’ve repeated a song multiple times then it will always start from that song 🤦🏼‍♀️. I really don’t understand why it started doing this. So ANNOYING!!!!! Other than those two things I enjoy the content it provides, it usually has any song you’re looking for, and good sound quality.
No streaming over cellular (AT&T)
by Jordaaaannnnn on 2018/07/13 14:41
Streaming music on cellular data hasn’t worked for over a month. All my friends and family with TIDAL have this same problem. I like TIDAL and have been trying to justify still paying for it, but at this point I’ve gotta switch to a different service. I reached out to customer support via email to ask how to fix this problem or how to get a refund, and it took 10 days before they responded and asked for my account info. I sent them back my info and a reiteration of the problem. It’s been 2 weeks with no response. I l want to support TIDAL, but they’re not allowing me to use the service they purport to provide (streaming music.) Since they’re not selling me a product, I suppose I’m just giving the company a monthly donation. It’s obvious that they know about the problem but haven’t figured out how to fix it. They’ve released several updates without addressing the problem that MANY users have brought to their attention. When I brought the problem to their attention via email they stopped responding. Again, I’d prefer to be a customer, not a donor. Unfortunately, as of right now, I’m a donor because TIDAL does not offer any service that can be used or consumed.
The best streaming app out!! Hands down!
by Sey Wha?! on 2019/11/10 21:42
I have been using Tidal desktop and app for over a year now. Let me tell you. This is hands down the best streaming app out there. The sound quality in high def and videos as well is unmatched! They have exclusive content that you won't get or see anywhere else on the web. So, don't even try to look for it if an artist says they're only premiering it on Tidal cause they are very strict about that. They offer exclusive early access to concerts and other special events, which I haven't attended yet. But I will very soon. Also, I'm a music producer so I find music based on their algorithms that I can't get on any other streaming app or service. You can tell this app was made by very passionate artists and musicians. I love it!!!! And always tell others about it. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't feel the same way I do who has the app as well. So, that should tell you something.❤️
Huge audio quality discrepancy when switching output
by Banes on 2020/07/22 19:54
I listen mainly on my iPhone XS Max and I really enjoy listening to high quality music. I just ended a trial subscription to Deezer HiFi and wanted to try Tidal. Interface is ok, I don't really like how the option to cast to my Google Cast enabled devices is not on the top right corner like nearly every other app that is cast-enabled. But my biggest gripe is that when I do switch from casting back to audio on my phone, the audio quality is deplorable. I listened to the same track - Out of Love by Alessia Cara - on Tidal (where it is a "Master Track") then Google Play Music (on the highest audio quality) and Tidal sounded so awful, mainly on the high end. Low end notes were decently clear and punctuate, but man when those mids and trebles come in - it sounds atrocious. The only way I've been able to resolve it is if I uninstall the app and reinstalled it. I cast my music to my speakers every morning when I get ready for the day and I don't want to have to uninstall and install the app every single day. I'm definitely not going to continue my subscription (especially at $26/month) if this problem cannot be resolved.
Great Quality Sound with Annoying Bugs
by D Money Tha Don on 2020/07/26 23:00
I love the streaming quality of Tidal but there are some annoying glitches. 1) The Apple CarPlay integration (this is an opinion not a bug) does not allow for the adding of songs while you drive unless you unlock you phone and manually add the song to your library. That’s a driving hazard for those who can’t wait until the next stop to save the song. 2) There is a new bug where my music will stop playing in the middle of a song without reason or warning. 3) When you add an album, the album gets added to the “Albums” section of the app but the individual songs do not get added to your library. I HATE this because I have go manually add everything from an album to the individual song library too which takes additional time. Overall, if you’re looking to stream with quality sound, this is the app for you. If you want convenience and a flawless listening experience, stick to Apple Music until Tidal works out the kinks (and I know they will). Or, you could be like me and just have both.
Music keeps randomly stopping
by jft.atl on 2018/10/25 00:00
Been using Tidal for a while with no complaints, mostly would like to see some improvements to app like lyrics, but I’m patient and understand it might take a second to implement..Anyways for whatever reason since I updated a version or two ago, my music will not always play and sometimes it’ll cut off. Or, if I add music to the my Play Queue it will not continue playing always. This is kinda of frustrating as I know it’s not my connection because it used to always play and I have no other data issues besides Tidal randomly cutting off. Also I would love if the search could be improved sometimes you could put the EXACT word-for-word/letter-for-letter song and artist into it, and it still will not show up as some of the top results (Example: “Money” by Cardi B does not show up when searched like “Money Cardi B”, instead it shows up her other song “Money Bag” as well as a few more results from other artists before you can find it, so its a little inconvenient)
Amazing service, great quality, just need a few touch ups
by Mclaren_7 on 2019/04/13 17:41
The service that tidal provides is top notch. After listening to my favorite music for about 10 mins made me realize how great of a product this is. And being a hifi subscriber I have to say it is well worth the money. But having tried many other streaming services I will have to say that the artist section on tidal needs a little work. On other platforms when you download music you can easily just go to the artist section and see all the artist that you listen to. On tidal currently you have to go to the artist profile, like it then the pop up in the artist section. I would just like to go to artist see all the artist I have either liked their profile or downloaded their music. And then I can see all the music by that artist that is in my library and select which album or tracks I want to hear. But overall I like how far tidal has grown in a short time and can’t wait to see where the platform goes next.
Like Netflix for music
by Only available in some areas on 2019/11/06 21:12
I appreciate the videos and custom or exclusive content you get from tidal. Lots of live shows and interviews that I want to see more of from my favorite artists. Not to mention the music videos? Way high quality video and audio sound. 10/10 if you have high quality headphones and appreciate not just hip hop but all good music. Some more obscure stuff is found here, too. Happy to see tidal improving over time. My only complaint is that I can’t get Siri to play something from tidal but that’s apple’s fault not tidal. Would like to see some Siri integration from tidal if possible or on google and Alexa to compete more on that front. Also the suggested song algorithm is pretty good at introducing me to new songs I do like. But I think the algorithm needs more work to improve because I get the same songs over and over. I also want more ways to save my music. But honestly, tidal is bomb. 9/10 overall
Technical issues and explicit content
by El Schmido on 2020/12/15 20:07
I really liked Tidal for its high quality audio. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their high end music on my stereo system at home. But unfortunately Tidal had too many technical issues. Especially it’s CarPlay implementation is very buggy - sometimes music wouldn’t play at all, sometimes music of Apple Music and Tidal would play at a the same time and sometimes you would click on one playlist just to find the content of another playlist in it. But that wasn’t the reason for switching to Qobuz (as it has numerous technical issues as well). In my opinion Tidal’s curated content and I just don’t match. I understand that Jay-Z is a founder and that there would be quite a bit of rap. But there is virtually no playlist without explicit content. Now I am not easily offended by hearing profanities. But there is no way of filtering these versions out. The last straw for me was when I chose to play a Christmas playlist with my young kids in the room and the second song had the n-word blaring at them.
Amazing AI + Human Curation
by WaveVidz on 2019/05/14 19:05
I’ve tried them all (or just about) and, as someone who refuses to listen to music on the radio because the playlists are so completely lame, I unequivocally have to say that the human and software power behind this service is stunningly good. I have never discovered this amount of stellar, new (to me) music in such a brief time, ever. The curation is fantastic with adventurous, wide ranging playlists to suit any taste while also driving you deeper into new, related sonic territory. The AI is equally impressive as it seamlessly follows up on your listening. Of the new music chosen by the service based on my listening patterns, I’d say 85-90% seriously hit the mark (vs. 10-15% for the other services I’ve tried). I find myself constantly hitting “Add to My Collection” so that I can follower later on what the hell that great tune was. And the audio quality is as good as it gets though it’ll cost you a bit more.
Updates
by Codith Brown on 2019/01/09 17:10
Love the app. Love the selection of music. Love the features like interviews, concerts, playlists and the ability to download content. Love the fact that this service shares more revenue with the artist. A few updates I would like to see in the future is the option to download singles/stand alone songs. The only way to download as of now is when the single is attached to an album. Also, it would be nice to close the app, reopen the app and still have my content in the same position it was in before it closed. If the app closes for any amount of time, I have to go in an find the album I was listening to all over again. Maybe Tidal can be installed directly to a device, like “apple music” is and that way Tidal can work as a mechanism of the phone instead of just a web based app. This would help with functionality a lot. Like I said, LOVE the app. I will continue my subscription. Just my two cents.
Favorite Music Service By Far...BUT...
by kttuggle on 2017/11/18 17:48
I love just about everything about Tidal. The expansive music library, the exclusive content, the articles, the series, podcasts, videos, live shows...I can get every single thing that I need for my music fix from this app. It’s honestly unmatched. The ONLY complaint that I have is that the “Add to Play Queue” feature doesn’t work correctly when music is already playing. If I’m trying to add an album to my queue to play after the one that’s currently playing, it inserts all of the songs into the middle of the current album’s tracklist instead of starting it after the current album finishes. It drives me CRAZY. It makes the feature essentially the same as the “Play Next” option and it only works correctly when no music is playing. Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue. It’s the only thing keeping Tidal from being a perfect app!
Great quality but lacks features
by FayeRichardson on 2017/09/21 18:04
I’m really enjoying the new interface of Tidal. It’s very sleek and modern. And I love the curated playlists. It’s very easy to be able to find new underground artists. However I do have some ideas that could make Tidal a more user friendly streaming service. There should be an option to organize a playlist alphabetically and also to be able to search for a song within a playlist. Another minor annoyance I have is having duplicate songs within a playlist. I wish it would say “This song is already added”. A minor issues I have are the shuffle is usually in the same order so I’m listening to the same songs in that order whenever I listen to that playlist. I also have that same issue with artist radio. Like I already said, these are minor issues, however very useful. Would just like to see them implemented since other streaming services have them as well.
Enjoy much more the Apple Music
by gargano96 on 2020/04/16 16:13
At first I didn’t think i would ever use this knowing I have everything apple product and I had Apple Music but I was impressed on how good Tidal works with a majority of my apple products, love the look on the bigger screen like the iPad and even works with Airplay on the TV and also the fact you can choose the quality of your music, I definitely hear the difference and I love how clear my music sounds, not just loud like Apple Music. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is simply because there is no real support for Apple Watch. I can only do the simple things like control the volume, play/pause/ next or repeat, etc. but there is no real way of using tidal on your watch unless the app is running on your phone which is a bummer since I tend to leave my phone behind while running errands at time or even while at the gym. If you guys can implement that then I would definitely rate a 5 star review!
Great music stream app but one mistake is happening
by Aquakidd on 2018/10/06 20:32
Ever since the first couple of updates on the app there’s been a problem with the play queue you put on the right side . I put a bunch of music in the “play next” and “add to play queue”. I use the play queue a lot for new music or just a set of songs I want to use . But now what happens is once a song is finished being played the song completely disappears from the song list on the right . It never used to be like this in the past. The song used to stay in the playlist you made on the right side so I can go back and save the songs I added as playlist. If this doesn’t come back it’s going to be frustrating listening to music. If I add a buck a songs to the queue and I accidentally hit a whole album to play , all the songs I put in the queue completely disappears. In previous versions of the app the songs I put in the play queue would remain there. If there’s any way they fix that problem this app would be 5 stars no question.
I miss the functionality so hard
by Jenaejanna on 2020/05/13 17:07
Please go back to how you could swipe right and see your queue, swipe left and it offers similar music, discovering music is so hard now and when clicking the play queue in corner three bars it always clears out now if you aren’t on a playlist so I can’t even remember what I’m listening to and it gets lost forever or I gotta go back and search for it then the queue starts all over again I miss being able to see past plays and going down the black hole on the left of discovery Whyyy would you remove those two features just to skip tracks ??? Music discovery has STOPPED for me based of lack of functionality and that was the whole point for me of Tidal over other services and I KNOW I’m not the only one. Please go back to allowing me to go down the black hole on the left and seeing on the right the queue of everything rather than it disappearing every time I play something that’s not on a playlist
Best Music App... period.
by bilbobagginzz on 2019/11/06 04:47
Always original content, artist videos, artist interviews from some of the most respected journalists in the industry so they’re actually GREAT interviews, the best sound quality I’ve ever heard on any music app (I can literally play the other big music apps at the same time with my headphones and hear a significant difference, LOUDER AND CLEARER), HD camera access to LIVE CONCERTS, best suggestions to hear music I might like, always updating new music so I never miss anything new, the best layout which makes it nicer and easier to use than these other outdated music apps... this app should actually charge more than it does. Everyone who uses it from my phone is shocked, and everyone I suggest to use it ditches their old service and uses Tidal. And this is no exaggeration and I’m not being paid to say this. I use this everyday and it’s amazing. Thank you TIDAL. Keep up the great work!
When it works properly it’s great, but it rarely does
by jamtander on 2020/02/10 22:21
When the app works as intended it’s a great experience and being able to select higher audio qualities is very noticeable when using headphones or higher end speaker. However, the app is extremely glitchy and slow. The only reliable way to listen to music on the platform is to download everything. Granted, I am willing to wait a few seconds for a song to load, especially if it’s in higher quality, but using the search feature doesn’t always work. Furthermore, when I click on particular artists’ catalogues to expand and see in entirety, the app gets stuck in it’s loading screen. There are also many instances of songs randomly stopping and playlists taking forever to load. I thought it may be my internet, but I have tried on many different networks and it continues to have the same issues. Worth my $5 for 5 months, but not the insanely high asking price for non promo membership.
TIDAL has changed the way I listen and explore
by RickRickI on 2019/01/11 04:09
TIDAL has been a revelation to me! The sound is terrific over my high-end audio system; and especially over headphones with my Firefly Red and beloved vintage Sennheiser 560iis. But best of all is that I can listen to something, then explore practically forever following threads of the performer, composer, instruments, etc. I listen mainly to classical and jazz, almost never to insanely crappy contemporary pop. I wish the track display for music being played worked better for classical - there's a lot to display in classical: Composer, piece, movement number, movement name, artist - none of the on-line services or iTunes seem to have the display adequately covered. The HD sound is usually as good as CDs played on my Naim CD player, which admittedly is getting pretty old by now. It's best over Firefly/headphones, is a little compromised by Apple AirPlay into the HiFi, haven't tried an outboard DAC yet. But overall it's good enough that I'm about ready to box up and put in storage the probably 1200 CDs that take up a huge amount of our small living space. I'm not very convinced of MQA yet. Some tracks sound really fine; but a lot of others sound "disembodied", a bit veiled, and there are others with what sound like smearing or digital artifacts. Maybe some of it has to do with the Firefly decoding?
Going Above and Beyond
by AppLoverMike on 2019/11/12 06:34
I remember when I first got this app, I had a hard time comparing it to Apple Music’s interface with respect to user friendliness. In reality, Tidal is setup the way it is to expose you to new content not just to house the stuff you already know you like. I love the mixes that they create which take the songs I have been listening to and create a playlist based off those tracks with new tracks that I might like as well. I love the Suggested Tracks because it gives me that exposure to all different forms of content that I may have never come across on my own. I enjoy the exclusive content that Tidal offers with certain artists. I once was able to go to a Van Lathan talk that I won from a Tidal contest. I’ve had the chance to go to see Meek, Hov & Bey, and more through Tidal. Great platform (not just an app) and great idea that started with artists.
Honest Opinion
by Kix Geek on 2019/09/09 22:22
I liked Apple Music for its simplicity and massive music catalog but something always seemed to be missing. I originally had no interest in buying another subscription based music app but after using the free trail for awhile I would happily recommend TIDAL to any and everyone. I love that once you choose a song the algorithm actually chooses other songs that compliment the flow and mood of the song you originally choose and not just play the same artist repeatedly. This has actually introduced me to some artists I did have an interest on listening to at first and other I had never heard of. Not to mention listening to music on Master quality makes a serious difference from you usual jam sessions. I have to give it to TIDAL for advancing the streaming game to the next level and hope it continues to grow.
Shady business model
by Chinoiserie777 on 2020/02/22 17:32
They will charge your money without you knowing. I have already contacted support few times and their respond was basically it is your fault, the charge is valid. I downloaded the app in November. I tried the service and felt it wasn’t for me. The welcome email didn’t say anything about free trial or anything like that. No charge in December and January and suddenly on February- boom - my bank acct got charged. No email communication prior regarding this whatsoever. I got some “marketing emails” from Tidal during those time and nothing else. Your support team basically just insisting that charge was valid and refused to refund the money. Even though I have never used the service within those 3 months. If you are going to start charging people money and you are doing honest business, send communication!!! No communication before deciding to take money from people’s bank account, no explanation about any potential free trials expiring or anything related to a paid subscription (no proper and clear disclosure) and then refused to return after = STEALING!!!!
App is inconsistent
by MxttPxtt on 2020/05/01 19:23
I used to love this app with every fiber in me. It was my go to music streaming service. It was fast, easy to use, and had every song I needed (wish it had podcasts but it’s not too big of a deal). Lately however, (possible the last 6 months) the app has been glitchy, and has been working on and off. There seems to be a different problem every week. It never lasts for longer than a month but it’s infuriating. Lately I can’t even stream music using my WiFi, I have to turn it off, unless the music I’m listening to is downloaded. My WiFi is not the problem, and it works exceptionally fast with every other app, but tidal jusy has a problem. Since this is the same price as Apple Music, id recommend Apple Music since it’s more intuitive to iPhones and it doesn’t have all these glitches. Sad to say I won’t be staying with tidal much longer if these problems keep occurring. I’ll great an edit and fix the score if my problem is fixed and no tiene problems occur.
Doesn’t load albums in my library right
by SnappySneezer on 2020/03/18 22:27
Well it is slow to load albums in my music, in particular for my favourite band Thee Headcoats. It just won’t bring up their albums in the app! I find it slow to load most things and a bit awkward to add to the library. There are many different artists that are listed as the same one. These include Heavenly, Slow Children and some of the albums listed as Jago or Lightfoot are actually audio plays spun off from Doctor Who. I want to add these radio plays to my library but not those other artists. In the case of Slow Children and Heavenly, the other bands with their name are just totally different music styles unappealing to fans of the other bands which are Twee and New Wave acts. There are a lot of great artists missing like bis (from Glasgow, Scotland), the Creams, The Chrysanthemums, Janet Klein, the 80s material from the new wave band Slow Children, Bloody Mannequin Orchestra and a number of others essential artists. A shuffle feature would be nice to mix up artists I have liked.
Killing my battery
by Keith80 on 2019/05/17 14:41
FINAL UPDATE: After working with Tidal’s support team, they have given up, replying “there is nothing we can do from our end.” Tidal charges premium prices, but can’t create an app that doesn’t drain my battery from what they refer to as “a constant open network connection.” I guess I’ll check out Amazon’s new high resolution audio plans. ———————- I generally like the audio quality of Tidal, but the app is killing my iPhone battery when no music is playing. I listened to tidal on the way to work yesterday, unplugged it from my car and put it in my pocket. When I noticed my battery draining unusually quickly, I checked the battery report on my phone, and it said tidal had been working in the background for 6 hours! My commute is only 10 minutes! I can verify that it was not downloading any music or playing music while in my pocket. I have background refresh turned off globally on my phone. I hope this problem can be fixed soon, so I don’t have to manually close the app every time I use it. Also, I wish you could download songs to a laptop, not just mobiles. Additionally, it’s ridiculous that you can’t search for mqa content. Furthermore, the whole user interface is kinda of cheap for a product that’s this expensive. UPDATE: I reinstalled the app, which deleted my downloaded songs. Everything worked as expected, with no battery use in the background. Once I downloaded songs, the problem returned, even when the download queue is empty.
HiFi Sounds good, but not that much better than Apple
by RockTheProject on 2019/03/19 00:36
I’ve been an Apple subscriber for several years, and I was ready to make the full switch if this app delivered on sound quality, even though I would be paying literally double what I’m paying for Apple. The verdict: I am an Audiophile, and while Tidal’s Master Quality material does sound good, it’s not actually that much better. Not only that, but most artists I listen to didn’t have the Master versions available, which resulted in most albums sounding identical to Apple. I tried it out on my home system and my incredible Bose system in my car, and was not blown away. Furthermore, the app is unbelievably laggy and glitchy. I kept having to restart the app, and even then it wouldn’t work properly most of the time. In the end I cancelled my HiFi subscription within the first hour. Bring the HiFi price down to meet Apple’s prices, and we’ll talk. Until then, Apple still has my business.
Needs a little improvement
by TheNoireBeauty on 2019/01/08 12:47
The music section for children is severely limited. The app isn't configured to work on the Apple Watch. The app often signs me out and my password doesn't work so I have to reset it over and over again. I may have no choice but to cancel soon if the changes are being updated. *Update* a new update for the app has been lingering. Every time I click on it it takes to the App Store and doesn't update 😠 idk if Apple is try to make it hard for Tidal but my frustrations are mounting. *UPDATE* The app won’t connect via Bluetooth to anything! Every other streaming app works but Tidal. I could be an Apple thing. In my car I can’t plug my phone up to charge & listen to music at the same time. It’s very frustrating. The bypass was Bluetooth. I’ve tried to not charge my phone to listen & that doesn’t work either. The only way I can listen or operate the app is if I listen to it without connecting to anything.

New update

It’s slow and keeps forcing itself closed
Can’t even login
by 8 Up on 2021/01/13 07:14
Signed up for a 30 day trial and downloaded the app; the login page is stuck in a loop and I can’t even login. Terrible, terrible app; 1 star is too many stars.
Quality
by PatekG on 2021/01/13 01:25
360 & master sound are no joke!
TIDAL = GOAT STREAMING APP
by ADDicted2Kickzzz on 2021/01/12 15:12
I love TIDAL, the algorithm of which is used to create playlist curated based on what I hear is top notch!
Overall app
by Alondrad97 on 2021/01/11 15:36
I will play a song and 15 seconds in it stops and freezes please fix!

What more can I say
by TidalLoverSB24 on 2021/01/07 18:00
Perfect for music quality lover, content creators and more.
Could just be me.
by Jendays on 2021/01/07 01:27
Amazing app and love everything about it except it seems like it doesn’t do background downloads when my phone is asleep? So if I wanna download a playlist to a phone for a trip on the road it doesn’t continue the download overnight
Nothing like an app that takes forever to load
by Viiv on 2021/01/07 00:18
I regularly get the “loading” icon when I open the app. It sometimes takes so long, I can’t use the app.

App is glitchy
by Shabbaskwazz on 2021/01/06 18:35
App constantly is slow, stuff you set to download doesnt download everytime, often i get my audio stopped because it says someone is using my account on a web browser. Which is not possible. I even check my logged in spots and none is a desktop. App needs serious work
Make compatible w/ Apple Watch
by Yung Mariuchi on 2021/01/06 01:48
This app would be perfect if made compatible with Apple watches.

App keeps buffering
by Ok u should get it on 2021/01/05 19:19
It’s frustrating when the app keeps buffering and saying “audio is playing on another device”.
Too much rap
by ידו נטויה on 2021/01/05 02:38
Rap is ruining the world, please remove from this application.

Please add Kpop and other genres and more artist but I really love this app better than Spotify and other app
Unhappy
by stupididneeded on 2021/01/04 07:02
I am very unhappy.
Great
by Gabe089721 on 2021/01/03 14:39
Better than Apple Music
Please add to Apple Watch!
by Katara424 on 2021/01/03 11:40
Tidal is my favorite music streaming app at the moment. My only recommendation is to make the app compatible with Apple Watch so I can stream on-the-go more easily (-1 star)

Bye from a longtime customer. On so many occasions, random playlists keep getting added to my tracks. Also, far too often, I have play back errors. Been a subscriber for a long time but just too frustrating at this point to stay.
Okay except for the stupid MQA

Please get rid of MQA as it’s a total scam.
The App
by Zayyuh Grande on 2021/01/02 02:48
I would say tidal and Spotify are the 2 best music streaming services currently but for 2 different qualities one being tidal having the best streaming quality of music which is their Master and HIFI option not to mention their overpriced plan for it but that’s all that tidal really has to offer while on the other hand Spotify has good streaming quality with a EQ to adjust your music to your preference and the app usability is so much better, cleaner, and fast so just using the app and all the features on Spotify overall just overrule tidal
Issues with playing music
by aaferraris1188 on 2021/01/01 16:03
Sometimes the app will stop playing mid song, or when I pause to take a call and then hit play again it just freezes and won’t play. Kind of frustrating but otherwise like the app so far.

Can’t cancel service
by Jhbemmer on 2020/12/30 00:54
Seems under cancel subscription you can click cancel subscription, you are directed to a questionnaire, only to submit your answers only to reload the same page over and over, only to find you the service was downgraded but not ended.

Gotta fix the bugs

I usually play albums via downloaded contents page but since some months ago ‘the sorting setting’ has disappeared I think it’s only occurring on downloaded albums and playlists Even though it doesn’t matter with streaming, it's terribly horrible with arranging I can’t comprehend why you did delete intact function and why no one complains about it I’ve endured for some months and I think you should fix this horrible issue quickly

Charging over 20 a month for the buggiest music app i have ever used? I will be sticking with my current music subscription. The master quality is ok. I only noticed a slight difference between hifi and master but it is there. The one thing i will give it credit for is the recommended music it works well when it works smh.
Music Lova
by SASSLSWBS on 2019/01/09 16:48
I absolutely love this streaming service!
