Don’t do a free trial they’ll still charge you 2 weeks in the free 30 day trial!! Then apple will make up an excuse about free trial policies and etc just so you won’t get your money back!

I love Tidal and i’m never switching to anything else but before I started updating the app it NEVER deleted my songs that I had in my play queue now when I add songs once it’s finished playing it deletes out of the play queue...

I wish I could give this app no stars, I put my debit card info and was immediately charged, it was misleading and was a complete accident, yet there is no CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER to speak to someone instead you have to EMAIL BACK AND FORTH, it’s as if they completely don’t care and want to save face by hiding behind a computer. I’m going to Apple Music, at least they have a number if I have an issue.

Can’t use it but can’t stop being billed either until logged on can’t so that’s fun. The quality was great but so often I was kicked out and had to re login and reset passwords and do it again it was often useless for months at a time I kid you not. Fix that, use Face/Touch ID and yes cancel my subscription and I’ll change review.

Tidal the app is great. No issues right now, but would be great if an Apple watch app could be made, like other streaming services it would be nice to be able to stream or sync music through the Apple watch.

I wish you guys could add an update where if I make a playlist or any playlist to be exact, I could go that playlist and be able to pull up a search bar so I can find the exact song that I am looking for in the moment instead of scrolling down looking for it. It’s a feature I saw that Spotify had when I used their streaming service and it would be nice to have on Tidal.

I love this app it’s my main music source but sometimes I can’t help but feel as if other music apps could be looking better right now I’d really prefer a recommendation page with good music that isn’t just all the hype bs one thing that this app is really lacking is a playlist based on your preferences and listening history or likes I’d really enjoy it it would be great and use more people who the app as good playlist like make top playlist content makers just so we can explore more music in all its high fidelity sincerely Jose thank you

I used to really love tidal, I have used the app for years. However, recently I noticed that whenever I add songs to the play queue it would delete right after the song plays. Or if I click on a track it will completely wipe out what’s in queue to play. It’s getting very frustrating since I used to be able to go back and listen to the what’s in queue over again. But unless I keep adding a song to the play queue, it won’t stay. Never used to have this problem in the past.

I have sprint and I got a message saying that I can enjoy FREE UNLIMITED MUSIC STREAMING AND VIDEOS but when I clicked the link and installed it, signed up. As soon as I wanted to listen to a song it made me start choosing a subscription, every time I wanted to hear something 😭 and I also wanted to download music 🥺. Please do something 🤠🥳😁
Buggy and rap focused

I thought I would give this a try. The audio quality is vaunted, and so this would seem like a platform I would like. It would have been better if the app weren’t so buggy, but most importantly the app seems to be entirely focused on pushing rap music. I added a whole bunch of music I liked into my collection, and it made no difference to recommendations. When a full quarter of your app is dedicated to selling me stuff I clearly don’t want it means I’m going somewhere else. Also, there is no way that I can’t find to do album shuffle, which is how I listen to music.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. Can you please add an option to the search bar where it can identify what’s playing? For example: If there’s a song on the radio, I’d like the app to identify it so I can add it to my playlist.

It’s more like a playlist. When going to the artist station on two separate days the same songs in the same order appear. If it’s possible following pandora in how it implements radio stations would make Tidal much better.

I have try so many streaming services for the couple pass days, I have try spotify, Apple Music, YouTube music, but after trying Tidal, no way! None of them compare to this. It just perfect. So organized , unique, and of course the sound quality is Great. I have subscribed to Hifi paying 19.99 a month it’s worth having great music. Amazing. I love it so much. When I’m at home i play my music in my Mac book pro and stream Tidal, & it’s even better because you get the option from hifi To MASTER SOUND QUALITY. Amazing! Oh and by the way I subscribe straight from there website, because I’m looking forward in getting the family plan in the future, because through apple subscription it wouldn’t allow you. Anyways, amazing app. I freaking love it.

There’s not a variety of music promoted. They don’t have some of the lesser known artists’ songs available. Seriously, you’re better off spending your money on spotify or some other music streaming app.

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...

I am so confused by the radio feature. I put in John Taveners “Mother of God, Here I Stand,” a classical vocal piece into Tidal radio. I get Ben Folds, music from the musical Once, piano music for sleeping, Counting Crows, etc. Every 5th or so song is another John Tavener song. Great, thanks for the discovery! On Spotify, the radio is infinitely better. Also I’ve been on a few days now and Tidal keeps recommending music I’d never listen to.

I just found this app. I got a 3 month free trial. I believe after I might actually continue using the service. It’s has a vary clean interface And every song. I thought it wouldn’t have any music I listen too. But turns out there’s every song. I totally recommend this app. Forget amazon music. This app seems more polished.

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

This review is solely based on my customer service experience. I signed up for a free trial and never used the app, so I deleted it. Months later when I realized I was being charged through PayPal, I reached out to their Customer Service team + they just reiterated their policy very robotically and refused to issue a refund. I mentioned that I felt very robbed and it didn’t seem to matter much to them. So sad; I had higher hopes of their platform being more community oriented rather than dollar driven.

I’ve waited for them to fix this issue and nothing still on top of that their customer support leaves something to be desired. Any time you try to use the app on CarPlay it just sits there and loads and tells you “There was a problem loading content” CS tried to tell me it was my phone, but it happens on my wife’s 6S, my old X and now my new Xs. So it’s not a hardware issue.

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.

The interface looks great, seems to run smooth. but before you can even use the app their is a “subscription” for an app that I don’t know, haven’t even heard. I'd rather stick to Spotify, pandora, Slacker & Youtube music. I understand we get a free 30 day trial but when your asking for a credit card and personal information that’s where I draw a line. their are way more superior apps and offer free service nothing really WOW’S me to put a cent on this app. Concerts, exclusives & so on are things that I truly don’t care about. That said the name is pretty cool & as I said before it’s a well made app.

well it doesn’t have more than half of the music I listen too, it’s pretty outdated on a lot of artists. Even if I luckily find the artist their music isn’t updated. It’s pretty disappointing since I heard good stuff about this app but it’s really not that big of a deal, I’m sticking to Spotify

Support is a joke. For some reason I keep getting error code 999 and my subscription won’t load. I love tidal but today I have to cancel it and go back to another service. I’m unsure why they can help me. Maybe I’ll try again Thursday.

Been using tidal for over a year, I’ve sent emails to their “customer service” about the bugs I experience but it never gets fixed, the tidal app is almost unbearable, I keep forgetting to cancel my subscription and delete this garbage so when I get billed I end up just dealing with the buggy trash app until I forget to cancel again.

This was a great app until they decided to ruin the play queue. Now I hardly use. I’m about to delete and unsubscribe. I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to delete all the songs the user liked and make them create new playlist ever time they open the app. It’s pretty awful.

30 day trial scam

I created an account with Tidal and downloaded the app when the platform was getting started. I used the app for the trial period but didn’t subscribed. A couple of days ago I received an email from Tidal offering a new 30 day free trial so I give it a try. Nonetheless, the next day I noticed they made a $14.48 charge to my credit card. Result: I canceled the “trial” after just 1 day of use and deleted the app for good!
Great Audio Mediocre App

Pros: FLAC streaming for your phone. Master quality files for desktop. This is the best sounding steaming app. Period. If you have been listening to MP3s all your life, you don’t know what you are missing. Cons: The search function is horrible. Nearly unusable. WTFF? App updates are SLOW. For example, ever aince I updated to iOS 12, I can not scrub backwards in a song. Tidal stalls. How did they break this basic function???? Please fix.

I’ll make a long story short. The service keeps improving. I love music and have used all of the major streaming services recently. If you haven’t tried Tidal recently or not at all you should. The sound quality is the best and has functionality that’s is as good or better than Apple Music and Spotify.

Connecting to a chromecast device is still a nightmare. It has been over a year and I still have to slide the time scrubber back to zero for a song to play. This app constantly loses the connection to the cast device. Forcing me to close the app and reopen it when I tried to queue up a new song. Still waiting for the service to be added as a default music player for Google Assistant.

This music app is otherwise perfect except for one missing feature. There should definitely be a customizable equalizer incorporated. Spotify has this and I love it (I’m a bass guy). Would be a 5 star with this.
Nothing Loads on CarPlay

I mainly use this app in my car through Apple CarPlay. For the past 3-4 months I have had trouble with songs loading. I tap on a song and it spins and spins. Sometimes the app crashes. Sometimes one or two artist will play and the others won’t. The music on the explore page won’t load at all. I have Verizon and it isn’t that my service is poor; I have three to full bars when I use it and have these issues. I have these issues with regular use outside of CarPlay, too. I like this app and I really don’t want to use Spotify. Please help.

I’ve had an issue very often with the pink message bar appearing at the bottom of my screen saying “tidal is being played on another device”. I do have multiple devices in my household between everyone on my plan and I should be able to play tidal on all of them. I pay monthly for tidal premium. Is there a device limit that I can install the app on? If so, what is it?

In the spring of 2018, i signed up for a six month trial period on Tidal. Knowing my trial would be expiring soon, I went onto my profile to check the exact date. However, my profile said that I had no subscriptions, not even my six month trial. Unclear of what exactly was going on, I contacted customer service by email telling them there was no information on my subscription. Customer service responded-a man named Sergio-telling me there was no account associated with my email. I told Sergio this was impossible and sent them a screen shot of my email address listed on my profile page. No response. And no response for the rest of the day.... I contacted customer service in another email and told them that no one was responding to my previous email and it would be nice if someone addressed my concerns in a timely and courteous manner.” Rather than apologize or address my email they merged this email to be connected to my conversation with Sergio! No personal response, no words at all! Just a merge to Sergio and that was it! Finally, after still getting no response from anyone, I sent Sergio the credit card associated with my account as in the first email from him he told me they may be able to look up my account this way. But I received a response this morning, this credit card is not associated with this account. This is impossible! It is the card that I see on my account. Sergio also told me that I can refute the charges with my credit card company. Thank you, Tidal! Such an accommodating and helpful thing to say to a customer! As of now, the issue is unresolved and I have the impression that no one cares. Stay away from Tidal, it’s a scam.

I love Tidal. This is the best streaming service to me when it comes to the variety of music on the app. But since the past two updates; when you try and stream a song over cellular connectivity, the song will play for a little bit and then it will stop out of nowhere ... or, the song will take forever to play. I know it’s not my cellular connectivity. It’s really frustrating. Please fix this 🙏🏽

Overall I'm very satisfied with the app. Have been using it for nearly four years now and I still see myself using it in the future, but I’ve been getting into tons of different genres of music and I listen to a LOT of Korean hip hop and Korean r&b. I see you have some Crush and Dean but there’s so many other artists that I would love to listen too instead of having to shuffle the albums on Spotify and listen to ads🙄 Jay Park is under Roc Nation so I know you guys know about Korean R&B and can try to get more of it on here!

I love Tidal. Had no issues before but now I do. This been going on for 2 months now. I try to listen to music and I get nothing. Nothing loads up... very irritating that I constantly uninstall and reinstall this app. To play one song then it starts acting up again.

A lot of folks ask how something this new can compete. Here's how 1. Way more music than Apple Music. All of jays albums first of all, in my mind by Pharrell is up, a lot of underground rappers too. Even if you do not like rap recognize they pay more to each artist and likely have more of you're style regardless. 2. They offer a 90 day free trial. This lets you get a feel of the app. I think I may switch from Apple and I'm 3 weeks in. 3. If you're seriously into music then consider their lossless cd quality streaming for 20 a month. That's right they have two different streaming qualities. Don't confuse it the 9 dollar a month is just as good if not better than Apple. However the 20 a month may be good for musical mentors and other musicians. Nice addition.

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

There is no way for you to shuffle all your downloaded music together! It separates tracks and albums, It’s annoying! I love putting my music on shuffle when I’m driving but I can’t with this app. The only way you can listen to all your music is by adding every track to a created playlist or manually downloading every single track instead of the entire album! I download too many songs all the time so I don’t have time to do that. Tidal should reallyyyyy fix this!!! And then maybe I will continue to use it until then I’ll be going back to Apple Music.

This app got so much hype from everyone and I really had high hopes.... But it disappointed immediately. I went from paying $6 for a student account on Apple to $14 (because they just stopped honoring the student deal after the 1st month) for the most poorly put together streaming service EVER!!!! It won’t play for about 3 mins EVERY TIME I open the app, the app loses connection at random (literally the most annoying thing) and you can’t download single tracks on iPhone. At this point I’m paying more than double for almost nothing so back to iTunes I go.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. I have really enjoyed the new interface. I hope they continue to make improvements like this. Just a couple things I would really like to see is better recommendations. It would be great to have some better radio stations outside of just an artist radio, which even the artist radio could use better selection of songs. If tidal could get to know me better and recommend based off my listening habits that would be awesome. I would really like to see them add current podcast that have been out there on other platforms. Just a small request to separate the moods and the genres in the explore section. I have to give credit they have made such great progress. I know Jay-Z is the big boss but it would be nice to see more of a diverse selection of music that is promoted. There is such a strong hip-hop influence it is kind of a turn off sometimes to 90% of the time I'm seeing rap and hip-hop artist on banner. I truly enjoy all kinds of music and for that I would like to see different kinds of artist promoted. It would be great if you could heavily increase the K-Pop music that is available. I do recommend the service for anyone though. I have been a user from the beginning and I'm glad I stuck around. Hi-Fi user here and it is the best sound out of all the other streaming services.

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.

I've been a dedicated Apple Music user for years but I'm looking for a change so I created a trial account and so far I've been loving it! Most music streaming services are similar so there really isn't anything revolutionary about another streaming service, it's all about preference. Tidal is a great service that provides a great app, but I have three problems with the app and web browser that are making the service difficult to fully enjoy. I don't like that it's not possible to save specific tracks of an album as ONE album, instead they save as "tracks" as a seperate category. I'm a neat freak so I like oragnization and that method of seperateing between tracks and albums is inconvenient. There should be a page for albums (you can save any tracks you want from the album) and there should be a tracks page where ALL the songs in your library are shown and there should be the option to play ALL the tracks on shuffle, or in order, etc. I also don't like that there isn't an option to organize albums by artist AND release date. The first and problem is far more important to me than the second one. I hope Tidal would make this change, if they do, they'll have a subscriber for life.
No streaming over cellular (AT&T)

Streaming music on cellular data hasn’t worked for over a month. All my friends and family with TIDAL have this same problem. I like TIDAL and have been trying to justify still paying for it, but at this point I’ve gotta switch to a different service. I reached out to customer support via email to ask how to fix this problem or how to get a refund, and it took 10 days before they responded and asked for my account info. I sent them back my info and a reiteration of the problem. It’s been 2 weeks with no response. I l want to support TIDAL, but they’re not allowing me to use the service they purport to provide (streaming music.) Since they’re not selling me a product, I suppose I’m just giving the company a monthly donation. It’s obvious that they know about the problem but haven’t figured out how to fix it. They’ve released several updates without addressing the problem that MANY users have brought to their attention. When I brought the problem to their attention via email they stopped responding. Again, I’d prefer to be a customer, not a donor. Unfortunately, as of right now, I’m a donor because TIDAL does not offer any service that can be used or consumed.

Been using Tidal for a while with no complaints, mostly would like to see some improvements to app like lyrics, but I’m patient and understand it might take a second to implement..Anyways for whatever reason since I updated a version or two ago, my music will not always play and sometimes it’ll cut off. Or, if I add music to the my Play Queue it will not continue playing always. This is kinda of frustrating as I know it’s not my connection because it used to always play and I have no other data issues besides Tidal randomly cutting off. Also I would love if the search could be improved sometimes you could put the EXACT word-for-word/letter-for-letter song and artist into it, and it still will not show up as some of the top results (Example: “Money” by Cardi B does not show up when searched like “Money Cardi B”, instead it shows up her other song “Money Bag” as well as a few more results from other artists before you can find it, so its a little inconvenient)
Great music stream app but one mistake is happening

Ever since the first couple of updates on the app there’s been a problem with the play queue you put on the right side . I put a bunch of music in the “play next” and “add to play queue”. I use the play queue a lot for new music or just a set of songs I want to use . But now what happens is once a song is finished being played the song completely disappears from the song list on the right . It never used to be like this in the past. The song used to stay in the playlist you made on the right side so I can go back and save the songs I added as playlist. If this doesn’t come back it’s going to be frustrating listening to music. If I add a buck a songs to the queue and I accidentally hit a whole album to play , all the songs I put in the queue completely disappears. In previous versions of the app the songs I put in the play queue would remain there. If there’s any way they fix that problem this app would be 5 stars no question.

I love just about everything about Tidal. The expansive music library, the exclusive content, the articles, the series, podcasts, videos, live shows...I can get every single thing that I need for my music fix from this app. It’s honestly unmatched. The ONLY complaint that I have is that the “Add to Play Queue” feature doesn’t work correctly when music is already playing. If I’m trying to add an album to my queue to play after the one that’s currently playing, it inserts all of the songs into the middle of the current album’s tracklist instead of starting it after the current album finishes. It drives me CRAZY. It makes the feature essentially the same as the “Play Next” option and it only works correctly when no music is playing. Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue. It’s the only thing keeping Tidal from being a perfect app!

I’m really enjoying the new interface of Tidal. It’s very sleek and modern. And I love the curated playlists. It’s very easy to be able to find new underground artists. However I do have some ideas that could make Tidal a more user friendly streaming service. There should be an option to organize a playlist alphabetically and also to be able to search for a song within a playlist. Another minor annoyance I have is having duplicate songs within a playlist. I wish it would say “This song is already added”. A minor issues I have are the shuffle is usually in the same order so I’m listening to the same songs in that order whenever I listen to that playlist. I also have that same issue with artist radio. Like I already said, these are minor issues, however very useful. Would just like to see them implemented since other streaming services have them as well.

The bugs that I've noticed recently is that when I add a song to my playlist accidentally and then I go to my playlist and try to delete it but then it won't let me! But when I go to another playlist I'm able to delete songs there but not my playlist! TIDAL please fix this issue because it can get really annoying quickly! The app itself is very well made and one thing you should add is to delete certain things on the 'Search' bar because deleting all my searched songs and artist is just dumb I try to remember them but I can't because I had to delete my whole search history because of one person! Over all the app is great and I'll continue to use it! Basically to sum things up... is that I can no longer delete songs from my playlist and I can no longer move songs from my playlist, if I try to move a song it will say " Playlist Must be updated first" witch I don't know how to 'Update' my playlist! I would also like to say for the new IOS 11 update I am able to screen record! So I have proof that this glitch is happening!
Your UI/UX is Pretty Bad

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...

EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I signed up for the free trial to give it a go and loved the service itself yet I wasn’t planning on giving it a go just yet so I cancelled through my settings on my phone by going into subscriptions. I wasn’t aware of the fact that Tidal had stored my payment information and would charge me this month for a service I didn’t knowingly ask for. When I made their support team aware of this they basically said “It’s your own fault” and refused to refund me. I’m extremely disappointed with this, especially because it’s tied to Beyoncé who I love and respect. I truly wish their support becomes better for issues like this because its problematic to charge people without them knowing. Apparently from what I’ve read in other reviews other people have also claimed this problem. I am having to contact my BANK over several charges over the last few months I was finally made aware of. Tidal has taken about $40 of my money without me knowing. This is absolutely unacceptable all around.

Love the app been using it the past three years and never switched to a different music service. Literally ALL my music is in tidal because that’s how much I love it. Never had a problem until now. I can no longer add songs with the “Add to play queue” function which is super useful (you can add songs to play after the one currently playing and it’ll keep them in there). I noticed the feature is gone and now you can only play consecutive songs if they’re in a playlist. This suuuucks because I really relied on the play queue it’s so easy to use and organize and it keeps the songs in whatever order they were played in!!!! AND you can even rearrange them and it’ll keep them in the order you place them!!!! Please fix!!!! Keep the app amazing!!!!

The music quality is great! Unfortunately the mobile version does not offer the 24 bit audio quality (above CD quality) yet, but CD quality is good too 😎. Unfortunately though, the software has many bugs. Especially when editing playlists and switching between a desktop and mobile device. Also, I have no idea why users are still unable to organize or search within their playlists! Some of my playlists have over 500 songs and have to scroll down giant playlists in order to find a specific song that I want to listen to or show a friend within that playlist! A lot of other bugs in the system too. I could go on and on. But, since the sound quality is superior compared to everything else available right now and since the app is functional, I'll give it 3 stars.

Curated playlists for holidays, seasons, genres, and artists - and that doesn’t say it all becouse it doesn’t explain how clever the playlists are - for thanksgiving there were several playlists; including slow songs for family and a “turkey turn it up” with more vibrant songs to get you ready for all the football. Any song you can think of is there, all the popular videos including the old ones and many videos that aren’t so popular. It has the usual quality like apple and the others but it also has an option for lostless audio. The interface is also a pleasure to use. You get the feeling that your using a high end product that someone cared greatly about when they created it.

I’m having issues when playing Hi-Fi. When connected via Bluetooth or any other way to any system it won’t play the next track, or it will repeat the same track despite having the repeat off. I’ve tried it on my celular network and on WiFi, downloaded or streaming and it just won’t play. It is extremely annoying because when it does play the music quality is outstanding. This issue seams to go away when I switch to regular quality. Note that this isn’t that it’s loading the next track because the tidal logo doesn’t show on the album cover and it just won’t play (I’m very patient lol) only happens when connected via Bluetooth, USB or lightning to aux. Paying for Hi-Fi quality would expect to be able to listen to my music. Hopefully this can get fixed before my next payment otherwise I see no reason to pay for something I can’t use. Yes my music systems are capable of playing hi-fi.

I seriously love tidal. I know there are some kinks that some would like worked out, but for me its the only music streaming app that I have stuck with. I have dropped all of the other apps after the free period wears off except this one. I think its partly do to the amount of exclusive material from artists I want to hear. And I love the selection of music. My one negative would be the search engine. I don't know what its like with other music spots, but if I don't spell something perfectly then I cant find what I want. I would prefer it was more like google. Give me a ballpark. Example: Im looking for “P!NK” but I spell it “PINK”. Then I may have a difficult time finding her music. Thats not cool but I would still give a 4.5 star if that was an option.

I’m a music engineering and producing student, and with TIDAL HiFi, you are listening to music at the frequency rate of CD (for those that don’t know, mp3 is the lowest fidelity of listening to music, so the sound quality of HiFi is impeccably better and more dynamic - the highs are higher and lows are lower, deeper bass). On the computer, there are also a handful of albums available in the master format with TIDAL Masters, and this is better than vinyl quality. I love being able to separate my albums from my tracks, too. While I wish it sorted my music by genre and also I didn’t have to add a playlist to have my tracks downloaded, it’s worth the hassle. If you care about audio quality, there really is no other way to go.

I love this streaming platform for the fact that it provides Edited versions of songs/albums readily available. One issue I ran into was the music stopping anytime I opened the camera for my phone. This was in the camera app or in messages when trying to take a picture. I feel the music shouldn’t stop when this happens. Another thing are the songs starting over after some time away from the app. This would help me to give this app 5 stars. Something else that’s a suggestion is having a kid friendly option for families? It would be tough, but finding a way to have edited versions of songs have its own section would be dope so we wouldn’t have to weed out edited and explicit songs. Just a thought, though.

For the past 4 Days I have been unable to play any of my Tidal music unless I am on my WiFi..it refuses to play anything through my cellular data.!!! I never had this problem before, until the last update.!!! Now, unless I am on a WiFi service , this little pink bar will pop up telling me that it is “unable to get audio stream”.!! I’ve never had this issue before. I have submitted 3 help request tickets and have yet to get a response or any type of feedback. I would have rated this app 5 stars, cause I really enjoyed it when I was able to use it.!! Enjoyed it so much that I upgraded to the family plan. However now, I’m being billed for an app that I can’t even use. Does anybody have some suggestions on what I can do.?!!?! I’m not having any of these problems with my Apple Music streaming, so it’s definitely not my phone or my phone services.!!!!! I just want to be able to enjoy my Tidal again :-(

I usually don't write a lot of reviews for apps, but I wanted to for this one because it's so great! I've had other streaming services, but when "Lemonade" came out, I couldn't help but switch over. It was definitely worth it though as I've stayed this long. Tidal is just so amazing! They offer tons of exclusives in terms of shows & music (like I said, Beyoncé's "Lemonade" and then later on Jay-Z's "4:44" plus others), a wide variety of great playlists, music & podcasts and introduce new artists I probably wouldn't know otherwise. Music releases are still on time like other streaming services and it just feels very personalized. The student discount is wonderful and I can't imagine subscribing to another streaming service!

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

I have been using Tidal since it was released. I have only had minor problems with it like small bugs that are fixed rather quickly with updates. However, for the last week, 90% of the songs I try to stream will not play. A small pink message at the bottom of the screen appears and says “unable to get audio stream.” I contacted tidal support by submitting a request. I have received two pre canned e-mails stating they will get back to me as soon as they can. The e-mail also asks me to go to their support page to see if I can fix the problem myself. The support page only prompts me to submit a support ticket. I’ll be happy to change my rating of this app if support gets back to me promptly but, at this point there will be no five star rating by any means. I’m paying for your service and to have my issue be brushed off is ridiculous. I’m going to give it one more day and then I’m changing streaming services.
Duplication Glitch with Large Playlists

I love my Tidal HiFi subscription and my experience with the app overall. However, when downloading large playlists for offline use in the app (24 hours or more), random songs duplicate and repeat within the playlist and play queue. As a result, the same 30 songs will repeat in a play queue even though it should be made up of 556 songs or so, sometimes even playing the same song three times in a row. The playlist will still show 556 songs total in the information section but when scrolling through the playlist to the final song of the playlist (because of songs being tripled and quadrupled) the numbering ends up being 1430 or sometimes more. Restarting the app does not fix the problem. Only uninstalling the app and reinstalling it temporarily fixes the problem until songs are downloaded for use in offline mode. As someone who lives in an area with poor cellular service, offline mode is a necessity. Although I love Tidal HiFi and think it is the best music streaming service available, I am thinking about canceling my membership from the sheer frustration of the app repeatedly glitching and playing the same 30 songs on repeat in a 556 song playlist. I hope this problem will be addressed soon and remedied.

It is a great product and in my opinion worth the price. The interface takes some getting used to. Many people complain that the shuffle does not work very well, however I've come to learn that the shuffle shuffled EVERYTHING BELOW the song you start the playlist with. This is actually quite nice when you don't feel like listening to a particular set of songs and just want to shuffle between a select few in the same playlist. Just click and drag. There is the occasional bug like the app closing when navigating with a poor connection or poor signal. Otherwise, the combination of music videos, documentaries, even full on short films in addition to the songs is well worth the price of 9.99 a month!

I enjoy the ease of having new music at my finger tips and to be able to download songs right to my phone! This is very important especially on plane rides. I hate risking a boring ride over slow internet. I also love the exclusivity of new releases. I’ll admit I only discovered and locked in to Tidal because of Beyoncé’s Lemonade Album being released only on Tidal for a while. I think it’s great to see Blacks thriving in free enterprise! I love to support my own, always. I used to buy my songs through iTunes and spend tons of money on less. Paying a monthly subscription to all of this music is bomb! This app keeps getting better and better. Great job to all the stakeholders!

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

Has a majority of the music i also have on apple and then some. I prefer to use Tidal whenever possible. I love the way tidal looks and it is easy to use mostly. My issue with tidal is that sometimes music doesn’t load/play at all. The song will “play” but there’s no audio, it’s just progressing through the song. Sometimes if i skip a song it will allow that song to play. But other times i have to close the app all together to play the song that i want to. I support tidal, there are some technical issues that are the main reason why i have to play my music on other apps. Otherwise I’d choose tidal 10/10. Also please consider implementing a student discount similar to Apple Music.

I have had Tidal for nearly a year and have been pretty satisfied with the service. The past month has been difficult though because the music randomly stops playing while listening as well as a ticking noise that all of a sudden starts causing me to have to delete the window to refresh the app and start the song all over again. I don’t want to cancel my subscription but with there being so many other music streaming services not having these annoying issues, I may be forced to do so soon. I’m willing to allow an update to happen to fix these bugs but it needs to be soon. I have a few road trips coming up this summer and would hate to not be able to stream music to get me through the long driving hours lol.

Is anyone else having trouble with their Tidal? I save a song to my offline playlist and it adds the song Multiple times and instead of it being in a chronological order (last added) it places it any where on the playlist leaving me to have to track down the song in the next playlist. Now if you save multiple songs it saves those songs several times all over the place in that one playlist and won’t let me delete the duplicated song. Additionally, when attempting to play/stream music from my “offline” playlist, it takes so long to actually load the playlist, I may as well not have it on the offline selection. I have an iPhone and I opted not to use my Apple Music because I preferred Tidal. However, with all the trouble I have been having recently, I may cancel my Membership.

Not sure if this happens to anyone else, but the Tidal app duplicates tracks. For example, I created a playlist that has a total of 155 songs. But if I scroll all the way to the bottom of the playlist, it shows that I have 211 tracks. This means that 56 songs were duplicated! If I scroll through the playlist again, I will see songs that are listed more than once. If I delete one of the duplicates, it deletes both the original & duplicate, and I have to go back and add it to the playlist again. I’ve tried logging out & logging back in, editing the playlist on a desktop, deleting the downloaded playlist and downloading it again etc. Now I just deleted the whole app. I’ll download the app again and hopefully that’ll help. But that means I now have to RE-download alllllll of the music I had saved on my phone. Such an inconvenience... ALSO: I create & listen to my own playlists via Tidal, & these are my suggestions: 1) There needs to be a way to search through your own music library 2) There needs to be a function that shows you which playlists a song is already saved in, and if a playlist has duplicate tracks

I’m still going to give five stars because this is such a minor detail, but I find it pretty annoying. Artists (especially smaller artists) with the same names as other artists will have the other musician’s work on their page. It can be confusing and irritating because I’ll press shuffle play for the artist & some random artist who just happens to have the same name (as the musician I intended on listening to) will play. By the very small chance you developers stumble upon this review, please take this problem into consideration, I have no other complaints about this app and I use it literally everyday.
Hifi vs Apple Music

I’ve tried with my Bowers and Wilkins P9 via lightning cable to see if could tell the difference between tidal hifi and Apple Music over a WiFi connection. Many tracks there isn’t a discernible difference; however, oftentimes the clarity of Tidal Hifi compared to lower res in Tidal or Apple Music is absolutely remarkable. I’ve tried blinded tests and with higher end headphones I can easily discern the difference. I’m currently on a 3 month trial of Tidal and I’m worried that I’m going to have to stick with it when I’m done. I’m not sure if double the price for a marginal difference is worth it, but the difference is there and Tidal is clearly better. Apple, why don’t you match this?!

Although present day music is marketed up front (not enjoyed by me) and generally in my way, this app has all the music I like and goes way back, too. It's fantastic to have hand-selected and automatic listening "stations" that do justice to top notch stereos. I can ask no more of the extensive library or organizing features. I'm also beginning to get high-def streaming video playback through Tidal over my cable link - 1080P! I don't believe I'll ever purchase another download or pop in a CD. This is an unrealized savings that most people don't think about. Download and enjoy your fav music, artists, videos-

I'd like what it's capable of doing, but it has a long way to go with functionality and accessibility. It's almost 2018 and coming off of using iTunes for the past decade or so, Tidal shouldn't be this far behind with how to add all your music together. We should be able to search for a specific song in our collection with a search bar or go to a specific letter in the alphabet in the app to find a certain song. For $12 a month, $25 if you're going for lossless sound, that's a lot of money that should and can be put towards better development of the app. That being said I'm having a lot of fun listening to songs that I haven't heard in years. And recycling these black dollar bills makes me feel good lol

For the most part I’ve been very happy with tidal as a service but as of the latest update the iOS version is almost worthless. I can no longer play full albums or playlists without jumping through hoops and there is no way to listen to more than the first song of artist radio. Now when I go to an album or playlist and hit play it simply plays the first track and then resumes playing whatever is in my play queue. And to add insult to injury there no longer seems to be any way to access my play queue on the phone to clear it out. It all still works fine on the computer and even through the sonos app but the iPhone app is simply broken. I hope they get it fixed soon so that I can go back to using it when out and about.

I am doing free 30 day trial best option Hi-Fi. The sound is outstanding on iPhone and tv. It’s completely replacing my iPod I can no longer use! I listen to every day & night and morning:D Sounds amazing while relaxing in bath and listening via my BOSE sound dock incredible speaker. I am so in love I will deff spend $25 subscription after free trial ends October 29!!! It’s beyond worth it. Kicks and burns all music streaming apps out to oblivion we’re all losers end up! You can do so much Save Artists to your collection or save Albums or both which ever you prefer. You can create never ending playlists. You can listen to singles or EP of artists. Something really unique you can watch artists music videos. I am beyond happy I discovered TIDAL. It’s brought my music world back to life. Made iPods and cd’s irrelevant and less superior:D No adds. To be honest, I’m sure this app is amazing. Maybe I would give it five stars IF I actually agreed to being charged each month by this app. I had a trial period of 3 months and cancelled shortly thereafter. HOWEVER, my card has continued to be charged and I just realized it this month and it’s been charged for almost a year, if not longer. Logged into the account associated with my email to see there is NO account or subscription active. Sooo.... HOW and WHY are you charging me?! Yes, it’s only $9.99 but it adds up, especially when you’re already paying for a streaming service that you DID actually sign up for. All I want are my funds back and this “subscription” that is apparently there but no one will confirm, to disappear. I didn’t sign up for this and I’m not a happy camper. So, one star you get. Sorry Jay, still love you. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Honestly, I had high hopes for this app. Once I downloaded it, as soon as I opened it I noticed how clean cut it was. Organized, with everything having its own category making it very easy to find. However, while I do understand you do need money to continue to run Tidal, obviously, I was highly disappointed & a bit sad to see I had to PAY to even listen to music. As a sixteen year old girl without a paying job or even a job at the moment, & certainly not able to receive money from my parents to pay for the trial, I don’t have any way to pay for either trial right now. I hope you consider making it free, instead of having to pay to enjoy the app. Until then, I’m sad to say I won’t be using Tidal.
Glitches and bugs

I recently got a free trial for this app through sprint, but from the first day I tried it out, I noticed it has many problems. Many times, the music will “start” playing, but absolutely no sound is coming out of the speakers. I have to restart the app to get the music to start playing and it gets really annoying when I just want to quickly turn it on before doing something. Also, sometimes the music doesn’t even play. It just seems to be stuck at 0:00 min and sometimes restarting the app doesn’t even help. Overall, I enjoy how the app has music I like and makes it easy to add songs to a playlist. I would definitely continue using this app if the problems were fixed, but as of right now, I plan on switching back to Apple Music.

Don’t get me wrong, the app works and plays music as it’s supposed too. One minor issue I find myself facing time and time again seems to be a displaying image in the playlists where it will duplicate songs multiple songs so for example if you have 100 songs in your playlist, it’ll be numbered as 130 because there are 3 of the same songs. This also gets annoying because the play queue will also have multiple varieties of the song so you would end up listening to the song 2 times in a row. If you could come out with an update that could fix this issue it would be great. Thanks!

This app has been giving me so many problems lately. Ill try to add songs to my playlists and words saying “cannot add to playlists” will come up. But then when I go to my playlist the song will be there twice, not to mention my playlists isn’t even in the order of sequencing that I put them in.....songs will go wherever it pleases instead of the bottom of my playlists. Then when I try to delete one of the two same songs off my playlists it won’t freaking delete. And this has been the case with every song I’ve added to my playlist recently. It making me not want to add new music and if Rabat’s the case then for all that I could just use another music streaming app...😒

First shuffle stop working and now I can’t delete songs from a playlist. Is it just for me? Anyone else having issues? Update: tidal support is amazing! Didn’t stop until my issues were fixed and they were. If you’re having the same issues do the following: Please clear your play queue. Select the "now playing bar" (at the bottom of screen) so it expands. Then swipe from right to left. It will display the play queue. Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. You will then be presented with the option to delete the queue. Once you do that, please ensure the shuffle function is enabled and add the playlist to the play queue. Please note: The shuffle now works differently with the new play queue. Please mark (activate/deactivate) shuffle before adding albums to the play queue or when pressing normal play of the album. The shuffle function cannot shuffle/unshuffle tracks already in the play queue. The developers are working on making this possible.

Where is the PLAY QUEUE?!?! *** On the play queue can you guys change the ‘x’ for deleting to a swipe? It’s really hard to delete a song in the queue without accidentally changing the track*** I've been using Tidal for about 2 years now. I pay for my subscription though their website to save some money on taxes. I've seen lots of changes for the better and can't wait to see what else they do. I am really hoping they make this an online community soon! I want all users to have profiles so I can find my musical matches. I also want to see what celebs are listening too more in depth, I should mention I love he exclusive playlists! I think Tidal is great and I'm hoping to plan some business ventures with them in the future!

I don’t even know how to express my frustration with Tidal. First there was a duplication issues with all the songs on my playlist. Now there a bigger problem with the songs not playing at all. I click to play a song and two error messages pops up after a long loading time. One message reads “unable to stream/play audio” the second message is bizarre... it states “the offline track has been damaged, please re-offline the album or playlist with the track.” Like what do that even mean??!!!! It’s been over a week without music. It’s truthfully annoying. Because I DJ and use Tidal to discover new music and artist. I use this platform everyday up until a week and a half ago. Please Tidal can you resolve this issue. I’m seriously considering deleting the app and cancelling my subscription.

Have used tidal for a long time now. Love it with my Sonos system, my beats etc. tidal is now the worst app on my iPhone. Constant buffering even at lowest cellular streaming quality. It’s like streaming over LTE is broken. There are other posts about this on reddit. Apple Music - works great / nearly instant - while tidal is constantly moving at the speed of molasses. All of my other apps are rock solid. Something wrong on the back end or do you need to do specific troubleshooting with the carriers? Fix whatever is happening please. Verizon beyond unlimited plan here constantly pulling 40+ mbps down and tidal can’t even stream 360 kbps after a minute of buffering. If you can’t fix it soon I’m gonna have to cancel. I’ll miss you tidal.

If you care anything at all about audio quality or supporting the music industry this is the best streaming service by far. The depth, the detail is unmatched. Lossless audio, folks. Yes, it costs more, but that’s completely worth it (for me, anyway) to support the artists I care about. The UI could stand some updates for efficiency / ease of use, but this app works really well and the service is unquestionably worth the price. ALSO - don’t buy the service from Apple, they take a percentage for themselves. Go to Tidal’s website itself and buy from there. You’ll save money.
Streaming signal

This app is okay. It's great for content but is not dependable to play on demand. I mean what's the point of paying?? Having to wait 2-5 minutes for a song to play because of the signal (and I'm on wifi!) The app will act as if there is no network to connect to until it eventually plays when it wants. I've heard a lot about Apple Music and I think I'll be joining them soon. I'm already paying $10 thru Tidal (and I already have a student email for the $5/month) they didn't honor it after like 3 months? Weird. Also, I've created multiple playlist and when I add a new song it says "it's not enough room" this is just for a playlist?? I'm only supporting bc of when JayZ taking partnership. I'm over it now. I support products that work.

I wish I could give this app no stars, I put my debit card info and was immediately charged, it was misleading and was a complete accident, yet there is no CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER to speak to someone instead you have to EMAIL BACK AND FORTH, it’s as if they completely don’t care and want to save face by hiding behind a computer. I’m going to Apple Music, at least they have a number if I have an issue.

Can’t use it but can’t stop being billed either until logged on can’t so that’s fun. The quality was great but so often I was kicked out and had to re login and reset passwords and do it again it was often useless for months at a time I kid you not. Fix that, use Face/Touch ID and yes cancel my subscription and I’ll change review.

I wish you guys could add an update where if I make a playlist or any playlist to be exact, I could go that playlist and be able to pull up a search bar so I can find the exact song that I am looking for in the moment instead of scrolling down looking for it. I used to really love tidal, I have used the app for years. However, recently I noticed that whenever I add songs to the play queue it would delete right after the song plays. Or if I click on a track it will completely wipe out what’s in queue to play. It’s getting very frustrating since I used to be able to go back and listen to the what’s in queue over again. But unless I keep adding a song to the play queue, it won’t stay. Never used to have this problem in the past.

It would have been better if the app weren’t so buggy, but most importantly the app seems to be entirely focused on pushing rap music. I added a whole bunch of music I liked into my collection, and it made no difference to recommendations. When a full quarter of your app is dedicated to selling me stuff I clearly don’t want it means I’m going somewhere else. Also, there is no way that I can’t find to do album shuffle, which is how I listen to music.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. I have try so many streaming services for the couple pass days, I have try spotify, Apple Music, YouTube music, but after trying Tidal, no way! None of them compare to this. It just perfect. So organized , unique, and of course the sound quality is Great. I have subscribed to Hifi paying 19.99 a month it’s worth having great music. Amazing. I love it so much. When I’m at home i play my music in my Mac book pro and stream Tidal, & it’s even better because you get the option from hifi To MASTER SOUND QUALITY. Amazing! Oh and by the way I subscribe straight from there website, because I’m looking forward in getting the family plan in the future, because through apple subscription it wouldn’t allow you. Anyways, amazing app. I freaking love it.

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...

I am so confused by the radio feature. I put in John Taveners “Mother of God, Here I Stand,” a classical vocal piece into Tidal radio. I get Ben Folds, music from the musical Once, piano music for sleeping, Counting Crows, etc. Every 5th or so song is another John Tavener song. Great, thanks for the discovery! On Spotify, the radio is infinitely better. Also I’ve been on a few days now and Tidal keeps recommending music I’d never listen to.

I just found this app. I got a 3 month free trial. I believe after I might actually continue using the service. It’s has a vary clean interface And every song. I thought it wouldn’t have any music I listen too. But turns out there’s every song. I totally recommend this app. Forget amazon music. This app seems more polished.

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

This review is solely based on my customer service experience. I signed up for a free trial and never used the app, so I deleted it. Months later when I realized I was being charged through PayPal, I reached out to their Customer Service team + they just reiterated their policy very robotically and refused to issue a refund. I mentioned that I felt very robbed and it didn’t seem to matter much to them. So sad; I had higher hopes of their platform being more community oriented rather than dollar driven.

I’ve waited for them to fix this issue and nothing still on top of that their customer support leaves something to be desired. Any time you try to use the app on CarPlay it just sits there and loads and tells you “There was a problem loading content” CS tried to tell me it was my phone, but it happens on my wife’s 6S, my old X and now my new Xs. So it’s not a hardware issue.

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.

The interface looks great, seems to run smooth. but before you can even use the app their is a “subscription” for an app that I don’t know, haven’t even heard. I'd rather stick to Spotify, pandora, Slacker & Youtube music. I understand we get a free 30 day trial but when your asking for a credit card and personal information that’s where I draw a line. their are way more superior apps and offer free service nothing really WOW’S me to put a cent on this app. Concerts, exclusives & so on are things that I truly don’t care about. 30 day trial scam

I created an account with Tidal and downloaded the app when the platform was getting started. I used the app for the trial period but didn’t subscribed. A couple of days ago I received an email from Tidal offering a new 30 day free trial so I give it a try. Nonetheless, the next day I noticed they made a $14.48 charge to my credit card. Result: I canceled the “trial” after just 1 day of use and deleted the app for good!

Pros: FLAC streaming for your phone. Master quality files for desktop. This is the best sounding steaming app. Period. If you have been listening to MP3s all your life, you don’t know what you are missing. Cons: The search function is horrible. Nearly unusable. WTFF? App updates are SLOW. Connecting to a chromecast device is still a nightmare. It has been over a year and I still have to slide the time scrubber back to zero for a song to play. This app constantly loses the connection to the cast device. Forcing me to close the app and reopen it when I tried to queue up a new song. Nothing Loads on CarPlay

I mainly use this app in my car through Apple CarPlay. For the past 3-4 months I have had trouble with songs loading. I tap on a song and it spins and spins. Sometimes the app crashes. Sometimes one or two artist will play and the others won’t. The music on the explore page won’t load at all. I have Verizon and it isn’t that my service is poor; I have three to full bars when I use it and have these issues. I have these issues with regular use outside of CarPlay, too. I like this app and I really don’t want to use Spotify. Please help.

I do have multiple devices in my household between everyone on my plan and I should be able to play tidal on all of them. I pay monthly for tidal premium. In the spring of 2018, i signed up for a six month trial period on Tidal. Knowing my trial would be expiring soon, I went onto my profile to check the exact date. However, my profile said that I had no subscriptions, not even my six month trial. Unclear of what exactly was going on, I contacted customer service by email telling them there was no information on my subscription. Customer service responded-a man named Sergio-telling me there was no account associated with my email. I told Sergio this was impossible and sent them a screen shot of my email address listed on my profile page. No response. And no response for the rest of the day.... I contacted customer service in another email and told them that no one was responding to my previous email and it would be nice if someone addressed my concerns in a timely and courteous manner.” Rather than apologize or address my email they merged this email to be connected to my conversation with Sergio! No personal response, no words at all! Just a merge to Sergio and that was it! Finally, after still getting no response from anyone, I sent Sergio the credit card associated with my account as in the first email from him he told me they may be able to look up my account this way. But I received a response this morning, this credit card is not associated with this account. This is impossible! It is the card that I see on my account. But if I send another email, I’m almost confident I will either receive no response or an automated list of things to do like try to cancel my subscription through iTunes (I’ve looked into this and there is no subscription associated with Tidal.). Sergio also told me that I can refute the charges with my credit card company. Thank you, Tidal! Such an accommodating and helpful thing to say to a customer! As of now, the issue is unresolved and I have the impression that no one cares. Stay away from Tidal, it’s a scam.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the app. Have been using it for nearly four years now and I still see myself using it in the future, but I’ve been getting into tons of different genres of music and I listen to a LOT of Korean hip hop and Korean r&b. I see you have some Crush and Dean but there’s so many other artists that I would love to listen too instead of having to shuffle the albums on Spotify and listen to ads🙄 Jay Park is under Roc Nation so I know you guys know about Korean R&B and can try to get more of it on here!

A lot of folks ask how something this new can compete. Here's how 1. Way more music than Apple Music. All of jays albums first of all, in my mind by Pharrell is up, a lot of underground rappers too. Even if you do not like rap recognize they pay more to each artist and likely have more of you're style regardless. 2. They offer a 90 day free trial. This lets you get a feel of the app. I think I may switch from Apple and I'm 3 weeks in. 3. If you're seriously into music then consider their lossless cd quality streaming for 20 a month. That's right they have two different streaming qualities. Don't confuse it the 9 dollar a month is just as good if not better than Apple. However the 20 a month may be good for musical mentors and other musicians. Nice addition.

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

There is no way for you to shuffle all your downloaded music together! It separates tracks and albums, It’s annoying! I love putting my music on shuffle when I’m driving but I can’t with this app. The only way you can listen to all your music is by adding every track to a created playlist or manually downloading every single track instead of the entire album! I download too many songs all the time so I don’t have time to do that. Tidal should reallyyyyy fix this!!! And then maybe I will continue to use it until then I’ll be going back to Apple Music.

This app got so much hype from everyone and I really had high hopes.... But it disappointed immediately. I went from paying $6 for a student account on Apple to $14 (because they just stopped honoring the student deal after the 1st month) for the most poorly put together streaming service EVER!!!! It won’t play for about 3 mins EVERY TIME I open the app, the app loses connection at random (literally the most annoying thing) and you can’t download single tracks on iPhone. At this point I’m paying more than double for almost nothing so back to iTunes I go.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. I have really enjoyed the new interface. I hope they continue to make improvements like this. Just a couple things I would really like to see is better recommendations. It would be great to have some better radio stations outside of just an artist radio, which even the artist radio could use better selection of songs. If tidal could get to know me better and recommend based off my listening habits that would be awesome. I would really like to see them add current podcast that have been out there on other platforms. Just a small request to separate the moods and the genres in the explore section. I have to give credit they have made such great progress. I know Jay-Z is the big boss but it would be nice to see more of a diverse selection of music that is promoted. There is such a strong hip-hop influence it is kind of a turn off sometimes to 90% of the time I'm seeing rap and hip-hop artist on banner. I truly enjoy all kinds of music and for that I would like to see different kinds of artist promoted. It would be great if you could heavily increase the K-Pop music that is available. I do recommend the service for anyone though. I have been a user from the beginning and I'm glad I stuck around. Hi-Fi user here and it is the best sound out of all the other streaming services.

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.
My Only Problems

I've been a dedicated Apple Music user for years but I'm looking for a change so I created a trial account and so far I've been loving it! Most music streaming services are similar so there really isn't anything revolutionary about another streaming service, it's all about preference. Tidal is a great service that provides a great app, but I have three problems with the app and web browser that are making the service difficult to fully enjoy. I don't like that it's not possible to save specific tracks of an album as ONE album, instead they save as "tracks" as a seperate category. I'm a neat freak so I like oragnization and that method of seperateing between tracks and albums is inconvenient. There should be a page for albums (you can save any tracks you want from the album) and there should be a tracks page where ALL the songs in your library are shown and there should be the option to play ALL the tracks on shuffle, or in order, etc. I also don't like that there isn't an option to organize albums by artist AND release date. The first and problem is far more important to me than the second one. I hope Tidal would make this change, if they do, they'll have a subscriber for life.
No streaming over cellular (AT&T)

Streaming music on cellular data hasn’t worked for over a month. All my friends and family with TIDAL have this same problem. I like TIDAL and have been trying to justify still paying for it, but at this point I’ve gotta switch to a different service. I reached out to customer support via email to ask how to fix this problem or how to get a refund, and it took 10 days before they responded and asked for my account info. I sent them back my info and a reiteration of the problem. It’s been 2 weeks with no response. I l want to support TIDAL, but they’re not allowing me to use the service they purport to provide (streaming music.) Since they’re not selling me a product, I suppose I’m just giving the company a monthly donation. It’s obvious that they know about the problem but haven’t figured out how to fix it. They’ve released several updates without addressing the problem that MANY users have brought to their attention. When I brought the problem to their attention via email they stopped responding. Again, I’d prefer to be a customer, not a donor. Unfortunately, as of right now, I’m a donor because TIDAL does not offer any service that can be used or consumed.
Music keeps randomly stopping

Been using Tidal for a while with no complaints, mostly would like to see some improvements to app like lyrics, but I’m patient and understand it might take a second to implement..Anyways for whatever reason since I updated a version or two ago, my music will not always play and sometimes it’ll cut off. Or, if I add music to the my Play Queue it will not continue playing always. This is kinda of frustrating as I know it’s not my connection because it used to always play and I have no other data issues besides Tidal randomly cutting off. Also I would love if the search could be improved sometimes you could put the EXACT word-for-word/letter-for-letter song and artist into it, and it still will not show up as some of the top results (Example: “Money” by Cardi B does not show up when searched like “Money Cardi B”, instead it shows up her other song “Money Bag” as well as a few more results from other artists before you can find it, so its a little inconvenient)
Great music stream app but one mistake is happening

Ever since the first couple of updates on the app there’s been a problem with the play queue you put on the right side . I put a bunch of music in the “play next” and “add to play queue”. I use the play queue a lot for new music or just a set of songs I want to use . But now what happens is once a song is finished being played the song completely disappears from the song list on the right . It never used to be like this in the past. The song used to stay in the playlist you made on the right side so I can go back and save the songs I added as playlist. If this doesn’t come back it’s going to be frustrating listening to music. If I add a buck a songs to the queue and I accidentally hit a whole album to play , all the songs I put in the queue completely disappears. In previous versions of the app the songs I put in the play queue would remain there. If there’s any way they fix that problem this app would be 5 stars no question.

I love just about everything about Tidal. The expansive music library, the exclusive content, the articles, the series, podcasts, videos, live shows...I can get every single thing that I need for my music fix from this app. It’s honestly unmatched. The ONLY complaint that I have is that the “Add to Play Queue” feature doesn’t work correctly when music is already playing. If I’m trying to add an album to my queue to play after the one that’s currently playing, it inserts all of the songs into the middle of the current album’s tracklist instead of starting it after the current album finishes. It drives me CRAZY. It makes the feature essentially the same as the “Play Next” option and it only works correctly when no music is playing. Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue. It’s the only thing keeping Tidal from being a perfect app!

I’m really enjoying the new interface of Tidal. It’s very sleek and modern. And I love the curated playlists. It’s very easy to be able to find new underground artists. However I do have some ideas that could make Tidal a more user friendly streaming service. There should be an option to organize a playlist alphabetically and also to be able to search for a song within a playlist. Another minor annoyance I have is having duplicate songs within a playlist. I wish it would say “This song is already added”. A minor issues I have are the shuffle is usually in the same order so I’m listening to the same songs in that order whenever I listen to that playlist. I also have that same issue with artist radio. Like I already said, these are minor issues, however very useful. Would just like to see them implemented since other streaming services have them as well.

The bugs that I've noticed recently is that when I add a song to my playlist accidentally and then I go to my playlist and try to delete it but then it won't let me! But when I go to another playlist I'm able to delete songs there but not my playlist! TIDAL please fix this issue because it can get really annoying quickly! The app itself is very well made and one thing you should add is to delete certain things on the 'Search' bar because deleting all my searched songs and artist is just dumb I try to remember them but I can't because I had to delete my whole search history because of one person! Over all the app is great and I'll continue to use it! Basically to sum things up... is that I can no longer delete songs from my playlist and I can no longer move songs from my playlist, if I try to move a song it will say " Playlist Must be updated first" witch I don't know how to 'Update' my playlist! I would also like to say for the new IOS 11 update I am able to screen record! So I have proof that this glitch is happening!
Your UI/UX is Pretty Bad

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...

A lot of folks ask how something this new can compete. Here's how 1. Way more music than Apple Music. All of jays albums first of all, in my mind by Pharrell is up, a lot of underground rappers too. Even if you do not like rap recognize they pay more to each artist and likely have more of you're style regardless. 2. They offer a 90 day free trial. This lets you get a feel of the app. I think I may switch from Apple and I'm 3 weeks in. 3. If you're seriously into music then consider their lossless cd quality streaming for 20 a month. That's right they have two different streaming qualities. Don't confuse it the 9 dollar a month is just as good if not better than Apple. However the 20 a month may be good for musical mentors and other musicians. Nice addition.
EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I signed up for the free trial to give it a go and loved the service itself yet I wasn’t planning on giving it a go just yet so I cancelled through my settings on my phone by going into subscriptions. I wasn’t aware of the fact that Tidal had stored my payment information and would charge me this month for a service I didn’t knowingly ask for. When I made their support team aware of this they basically said “It’s your own fault” and refused to refund me. I’m extremely disappointed with this, especially because it’s tied to Beyoncé who I love and respect. I truly wish their support becomes better for issues like this because its problematic to charge people without them knowing. Apparently from what I’ve read in other reviews other people have also claimed this problem. I am having to contact my BANK over several charges over the last few months I was finally made aware of. Tidal has taken about $40 of my money without me knowing. This is absolutely unacceptable all around.

Love the app been using it the past three years and never switched to a different music service. Literally ALL my music is in tidal because that’s how much I love it. Never had a problem until now. I can no longer add songs with the “Add to play queue” function which is super useful (you can add songs to play after the one currently playing and it’ll keep them in there). I noticed the feature is gone and now you can only play consecutive songs if they’re in a playlist. This suuuucks because I really relied on the play queue it’s so easy to use and organize and it keeps the songs in whatever order they were played in!!!! AND you can even rearrange them and it’ll keep them in the order you place them!!!! Please fix!!!! Keep the app amazing!!!!

The music quality is great! Unfortunately the mobile version does not offer the 24 bit audio quality (above CD quality) yet, but CD quality is good too 😎. Unfortunately though, the software has many bugs. Especially when editing playlists and switching between a desktop and mobile device. Also, I have no idea why users are still unable to organize or search within their playlists! Some of my playlists have over 500 songs and have to scroll down giant playlists in order to find a specific song that I want to listen to or show a friend within that playlist! A lot of other bugs in the system too. I could go on and on. But, since the sound quality is superior compared to everything else available right now and since the app is functional, I'll give it 3 stars.

Curated playlists for holidays, seasons, genres, and artists - and that doesn’t say it all becouse it doesn’t explain how clever the playlists are - for thanksgiving there were several playlists; including slow songs for family and a “turkey turn it up” with more vibrant songs to get you ready for all the football. Any song you can think of is there, all the popular videos including the old ones and many videos that aren’t so popular. It has the usual quality like apple and the others but it also has an option for lostless audio. The interface is also a pleasure to use. You get the feeling that your using a high end product that someone cared greatly about when they created it.
Bug?

I’m having issues when playing Hi-Fi. When connected via Bluetooth or any other way to any system it won’t play the next track, or it will repeat the same track despite having the repeat off. I’ve tried it on my celular network and on WiFi, downloaded or streaming and it just won’t play. It is extremely annoying because when it does play the music quality is outstanding. This issue seams to go away when I switch to regular quality. Note that this isn’t that it’s loading the next track because the tidal logo doesn’t show on the album cover and it just won’t play (I’m very patient lol) only happens when connected via Bluetooth, USB or lightning to aux. Paying for Hi-Fi quality would expect to be able to listen to my music. Hopefully this can get fixed before my next payment otherwise I see no reason to pay for something I can’t use. Yes my music systems are capable of playing hi-fi.

I seriously love tidal. I know there are some kinks that some would like worked out, but for me its the only music streaming app that I have stuck with. I have dropped all of the other apps after the free period wears off except this one. I think its partly do to the amount of exclusive material from artists I want to hear. And I love the selection of music. My one negative would be the search engine. I don't know what its like with other music spots, but if I don't spell something perfectly then I cant find what I want. I would prefer it was more like google. Give me a ballpark. Example: Im looking for “P!NK” but I spell it “PINK”. Then I may have a difficult time finding her music. Thats not cool but I would still give a 4.5 star if that was an option.
Best Streaming Service Available

I’m a music engineering and producing student, and with TIDAL HiFi, you are listening to music at the frequency rate of CD (for those that don’t know, mp3 is the lowest fidelity of listening to music, so the sound quality of HiFi is impeccably better and more dynamic - the highs are higher and lows are lower, deeper bass). On the computer, there are also a handful of albums available in the master format with TIDAL Masters, and this is better than vinyl quality. I love being able to separate my albums from my tracks, too. While I wish it sorted my music by genre and also I didn’t have to add a playlist to have my tracks downloaded, it’s worth the hassle. If you care about audio quality, there really is no other way to go.

I love this streaming platform for the fact that it provides Edited versions of songs/albums readily available. One issue I ran into was the music stopping anytime I opened the camera for my phone. This was in the camera app or in messages when trying to take a picture. I feel the music shouldn’t stop when this happens. Another thing are the songs starting over after some time away from the app. This would help me to give this app 5 stars. Something else that’s a suggestion is having a kid friendly option for families? It would be tough, but finding a way to have edited versions of songs have its own section would be dope so we wouldn’t have to weed out edited and explicit songs. Just a thought, though.
Unable To Stream Music

For the past 4 Days I have been unable to play any of my Tidal music unless I am on my WiFi..it refuses to play anything through my cellular data.!!! I never had this problem before, until the last update.!!! Now, unless I am on a WiFi service , this little pink bar will pop up telling me that it is “unable to get audio stream”.!! I’ve never had this issue before. I have submitted 3 help request tickets and have yet to get a response or any type of feedback. I would have rated this app 5 stars, cause I really enjoyed it when I was able to use it.!! Enjoyed it so much that I upgraded to the family plan. However now, I’m being billed for an app that I can’t even use. Does anybody have some suggestions on what I can do.?!!?! I’m not having any of these problems with my Apple Music streaming, so it’s definitely not my phone or my phone services.!!!!! I just want to be able to enjoy my Tidal again :-(

I usually don't write a lot of reviews for apps, but I wanted to for this one because it's so great! I've had other streaming services, but when "Lemonade" came out, I couldn't help but switch over. It was definitely worth it though as I've stayed this long. Tidal is just so amazing! They offer tons of exclusives in terms of shows & music (like I said, Beyoncé's "Lemonade" and then later on Jay-Z's "4:44" plus others), a wide variety of great playlists, music & podcasts and introduce new artists I probably wouldn't know otherwise. Music releases are still on time like other streaming services and it just feels very personalized. The student discount is wonderful and I can't imagine subscribing to another streaming service!

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

I have been using Tidal since it was released. I have only had minor problems with it like small bugs that are fixed rather quickly with updates. However, for the last week, 90% of the songs I try to stream will not play. A small pink message at the bottom of the screen appears and says “unable to get audio stream.” I contacted tidal support by submitting a request. I have received two pre canned e-mails stating they will get back to me as soon as they can. The e-mail also asks me to go to their support page to see if I can fix the problem myself. The support page only prompts me to submit a support ticket. I’ll be happy to change my rating of this app if support gets back to me promptly but, at this point there will be no five star rating by any means. I’m paying for your service and to have my issue be brushed off is ridiculous. I’m going to give it one more day and then I’m changing streaming services.
Duplication Glitch with Large Playlists

I love my Tidal HiFi subscription and my experience with the app overall. However, when downloading large playlists for offline use in the app (24 hours or more), random songs duplicate and repeat within the playlist and play queue. As a result, the same 30 songs will repeat in a play queue even though it should be made up of 556 songs or so, sometimes even playing the same song three times in a row. The playlist will still show 556 songs total in the information section but when scrolling through the playlist to the final song of the playlist (because of songs being tripled and quadrupled) the numbering ends up being 1430 or sometimes more. Restarting the app does not fix the problem. Only uninstalling the app and reinstalling it temporarily fixes the problem until songs are downloaded for use in offline mode. As someone who lives in an area with poor cellular service, offline mode is a necessity. Although I love Tidal HiFi and think it is the best music streaming service available, I am thinking about canceling my membership from the sheer frustration of the app repeatedly glitching and playing the same 30 songs on repeat in a 556 song playlist. I hope this problem will be addressed soon and remedied.

It is a great product and in my opinion worth the price. The interface takes some getting used to. Many people complain that the shuffle does not work very well, however I've come to learn that the shuffle shuffled EVERYTHING BELOW the song you start the playlist with. This is actually quite nice when you don't feel like listening to a particular set of songs and just want to shuffle between a select few in the same playlist. Just click and drag. There is the occasional bug like the app closing when navigating with a poor connection or poor signal. Otherwise, the combination of music videos, documentaries, even full on short films in addition to the songs is well worth the price of 9.99 a month!
Newest Music at my finger tips!

I enjoy the ease of having new music at my finger tips and to be able to download songs right to my phone! This is very important especially on plane rides. I hate risking a boring ride over slow internet. I also love the exclusivity of new releases. I’ll admit I only discovered and locked in to Tidal because of Beyoncé’s Lemonade Album being released only on Tidal for a while. I think it’s great to see Blacks thriving in free enterprise! I love to support my own, always. I used to buy my songs through iTunes and spend tons of money on less. Paying a monthly subscription to all of this music is bomb! This app keeps getting better and better. Great job to all the stakeholders!

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

Has a majority of the music i also have on apple and then some. I prefer to use Tidal whenever possible. I love the way tidal looks and it is easy to use mostly. My issue with tidal is that sometimes music doesn’t load/play at all. The song will “play” but there’s no audio, it’s just progressing through the song. Sometimes if i skip a song it will allow that song to play. But other times i have to close the app all together to play the song that i want to. I support tidal, there are some technical issues that are the main reason why i have to play my music on other apps. Otherwise I’d choose tidal 10/10. Also please consider implementing a student discount similar to Apple Music.
Glitching

I have had Tidal for nearly a year and have been pretty satisfied with the service. The past month has been difficult though because the music randomly stops playing while listening as well as a ticking noise that all of a sudden starts causing me to have to delete the window to refresh the app and start the song all over again. I don’t want to cancel my subscription but with there being so many other music streaming services not having these annoying issues, I may be forced to do so soon. I’m willing to allow an update to happen to fix these bugs but it needs to be soon. I have a few road trips coming up this summer and would hate to not be able to stream music to get me through the long driving hours lol.

Is anyone else having trouble with their Tidal? I save a song to my offline playlist and it adds the song Multiple times and instead of it being in a chronological order (last added) it places it any where on the playlist leaving me to have to track down the song in the next playlist. Now if you save multiple songs it saves those songs several times all over the place in that one playlist and won’t let me delete the duplicated song. Additionally, when attempting to play/stream music from my “offline” playlist, it takes so long to actually load the playlist, I may as well not have it on the offline selection. I have an iPhone and I opted not to use my Apple Music because I preferred Tidal. However, with all the trouble I have been having recently, I may cancel my Membership.

Not sure if this happens to anyone else, but the Tidal app duplicates tracks. For example, I created a playlist that has a total of 155 songs. But if I scroll all the way to the bottom of the playlist, it shows that I have 211 tracks. This means that 56 songs were duplicated! If I scroll through the playlist again, I will see songs that are listed more than once. If I delete one of the duplicates, it deletes both the original & duplicate, and I have to go back and add it to the playlist again. I’ve tried logging out & logging back in, editing the playlist on a desktop, deleting the downloaded playlist and downloading it again etc. Now I just deleted the whole app. I’ll download the app again and hopefully that’ll help. But that means I now have to RE-download alllllll of the music I had saved on my phone. Such an inconvenience... ALSO: I create & listen to my own playlists via Tidal, & these are my suggestions: 1) There needs to be a way to search through your own music library 2) There needs to be a function that shows you which playlists a song is already saved in, and if a playlist has duplicate tracks

I’m still going to give five stars because this is such a minor detail, but I find it pretty annoying. Artists (especially smaller artists) with the same names as other artists will have the other musician’s work on their page. It can be confusing and irritating because I’ll press shuffle play for the artist & some random artist who just happens to have the same name (as the musician I intended on listening to) will play. By the very small chance you developers stumble upon this review, please take this problem into consideration, I have no other complaints about this app and I use it literally everyday.
Hifi vs Apple Music

I’ve tried with my Bowers and Wilkins P9 via lightning cable to see if could tell the difference between tidal hifi and Apple Music over a WiFi connection. Many tracks there isn’t a discernible difference; however, oftentimes the clarity of Tidal Hifi compared to lower res in Tidal or Apple Music is absolutely remarkable. I’ve tried blinded tests and with higher end headphones I can easily discern the difference. I’m currently on a 3 month trial of Tidal and I’m worried that I’m going to have to stick with it when I’m done. I’m not sure if double the price for a marginal difference is worth it, but the difference is there and Tidal is clearly better. Apple, why don’t you match this?!

Although present day music is marketed up front (not enjoyed by me) and generally in my way, this app has all the music I like and goes way back, too. It's fantastic to have hand-selected and automatic listening "stations" that do justice to top notch stereos. I can ask no more of the extensive library or organizing features. I'm also beginning to get high-def streaming video playback through Tidal over my cable link - 1080P! I don't believe I'll ever purchase another download or pop in a CD. This is an unrealized savings that most people don't think about. Download and enjoy your fav music, artists, videos-

I'd like what it's capable of doing, but it has a long way to go with functionality and accessibility. It's almost 2018 and coming off of using iTunes for the past decade or so, Tidal shouldn't be this far behind with how to add all your music together. We should be able to search for a specific song in our collection with a search bar or go to a specific letter in the alphabet in the app to find a certain song. For $12 a month, $25 if you're going for lossless sound, that's a lot of money that should and can be put towards better development of the app. That being said I'm having a lot of fun listening to songs that I haven't heard in years. And recycling these black dollar bills makes me feel good lol
Latest iOS version is completely hosed

For the most part I’ve been very happy with tidal as a service but as of the latest update the iOS version is almost worthless. I can no longer play full albums or playlists without jumping through hoops and there is no way to listen to more than the first song of artist radio. Now when I go to an album or playlist and hit play it simply plays the first track and then resumes playing whatever is in my play queue. And to add insult to injury there no longer seems to be any way to access my play queue on the phone to clear it out. It all still works fine on the computer and even through the sonos app but the iPhone app is simply broken. I hope they get it fixed soon so that I can go back to using it when out and about.

I am doing free 30 day trial best option Hi-Fi. The sound is outstanding on iPhone and tv. It’s completely replacing my iPod I can no longer use! I listen to every day & night and morning:D Sounds amazing while relaxing in bath and listening via my BOSE sound dock incredible speaker. I am so in love I will deff spend $25 subscription after free trial ends October 29!!! It’s beyond worth it. Kicks and burns all music streaming apps out to oblivion we’re all losers end up! You can do so much Save Artists to your collection or save Albums or both which ever you prefer. You can create never ending playlists. You can listen to singles or EP of artists. Something really unique you can watch artists music videos. I am beyond happy I discovered TIDAL. It’s brought my music world back to life. Made iPods and cd’s irrelevant and less superior:D No adds. To be honest, I’m sure this app is amazing. Maybe I would give it five stars IF I actually agreed to being charged each month by this app. I had a trial period of 3 months and cancelled shortly thereafter. HOWEVER, my card has continued to be charged and I just realized it this month and it’s been charged for almost a year, if not longer. Logged into the account associated with my email to see there is NO account or subscription active. Sooo.... HOW and WHY are you charging me?! Yes, it’s only $9.99 but it adds up, especially when you’re already paying for a streaming service that you DID actually sign up for. All I want are my funds back and this “subscription” that is apparently there but no one will confirm, to disappear. I didn’t sign up for this and I’m not a happy camper. So, one star you get. Sorry Jay, still love you. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Honestly, I had high hopes for this app. Once I downloaded it, as soon as I opened it I noticed how clean cut it was. Organized, with everything having its own category making it very easy to find. However, while I do understand you do need money to continue to run Tidal, obviously, I was highly disappointed & a bit sad to see I had to PAY to even listen to music. As a sixteen year old girl without a paying job or even a job at the moment, & certainly not able to receive money from my parents to pay for the trial, I don’t have any way to pay for either trial right now. I hope you consider making it free, instead of having to pay to enjoy the app. Until then, I’m sad to say I won’t be using Tidal.
Glitches and bugs

I recently got a free trial for this app through sprint, but from the first day I tried it out, I noticed it has many problems. Many times, the music will “start” playing, but absolutely no sound is coming out of the speakers. I have to restart the app to get the music to start playing and it gets really annoying when I just want to quickly turn it on before doing something. Also, sometimes the music doesn’t even play. It just seems to be stuck at 0:00 min and sometimes restarting the app doesn’t even help. Overall, I enjoy how the app has music I like and makes it easy to add songs to a playlist. I would definitely continue using this app if the problems were fixed, but as of right now, I plan on switching back to Apple Music.

Don’t get me wrong, the app works and plays music as it’s supposed too. One minor issue I find myself facing time and time again seems to be a displaying image in the playlists where it will duplicate songs multiple songs so for example if you have 100 songs in your playlist, it’ll be numbered as 130 because there are 3 of the same songs. This also gets annoying because the play queue will also have multiple varieties of the song so you would end up listening to the song 2 times in a row. If you could come out with an update that could fix this issue it would be great. Thanks!

This app has been giving me so many problems lately. Ill try to add songs to my playlists and words saying “cannot add to playlists” will come up. But then when I go to my playlist the song will be there twice, not to mention my playlists isn’t even in the order of sequencing that I put them in.....songs will go wherever it pleases instead of the bottom of my playlists. Then when I try to delete one of the two same songs off my playlists it won’t freaking delete. And this has been the case with every song I’ve added to my playlist recently. It making me not want to add new music and if Rabat’s the case then for all that I could just use another music streaming app...😒

First shuffle stop working and now I can’t delete songs from a playlist. Is it just for me? Anyone else having issues? Update: tidal support is amazing! Didn’t stop until my issues were fixed and they were. If you’re having the same issues do the following: Please clear your play queue. Select the "now playing bar" (at the bottom of screen) so it expands. Then swipe from right to left. It will display the play queue. Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. You will then be presented with the option to delete the queue. Once you do that, please ensure the shuffle function is enabled and add the playlist to the play queue. Please note: The shuffle now works differently with the new play queue. Please mark (activate/deactivate) shuffle before adding albums to the play queue or when pressing normal play of the album. The shuffle function cannot shuffle/unshuffle tracks already in the play queue. The developers are working on making this possible.

Where is the PLAY QUEUE?!?! *** On the play queue can you guys change the ‘x’ for deleting to a swipe? It’s really hard to delete a song in the queue without accidentally changing the track*** I've been using Tidal for about 2 years now. I pay for my subscription though their website to save some money on taxes. I've seen lots of changes for the better and can't wait to see what else they do. I am really hoping they make this an online community soon! I want all users to have profiles so I can find my musical matches. I also want to see what celebs are listening too more in depth, I should mention I love he exclusive playlists! I think Tidal is great and I'm hoping to plan some business ventures with them in the future!

I don’t even know how to express my frustration with Tidal. First there was a duplication issues with all the songs on my playlist. Now there a bigger problem with the songs not playing at all. I click to play a song and two error messages pops up after a long loading time. One message reads “unable to stream/play audio” the second message is bizarre... it states “the offline track has been damaged, please re-offline the album or playlist with the track.” Like what do that even mean??!!!! It’s been over a week without music. It’s truthfully annoying. Because I DJ and use Tidal to discover new music and artist. I use this platform everyday up until a week and a half ago. Please Tidal can you resolve this issue. I’m seriously considering deleting the app and cancelling my subscription.

Have used tidal for a long time now. Love it with my Sonos system, my beats etc. tidal is now the worst app on my iPhone. Constant buffering even at lowest cellular streaming quality. It’s like streaming over LTE is broken. There are other posts about this on reddit. Apple Music - works great / nearly instant - while tidal is constantly moving at the speed of molasses. All of my other apps are rock solid. Something wrong on the back end or do you need to do specific troubleshooting with the carriers? Fix whatever is happening please. Verizon beyond unlimited plan here constantly pulling 40+ mbps down and tidal can’t even stream 360 kbps after a minute of buffering. If you can’t fix it soon I’m gonna have to cancel. I’ll miss you tidal.
Must-have for audiophiles

If you care anything at all about audio quality or supporting the music industry this is the best streaming service by far. The depth, the detail is unmatched. Lossless audio, folks. Yes, it costs more, but that’s completely worth it (for me, anyway) to support the artists I care about. The UI could stand some updates for efficiency / ease of use, but this app works really well and the service is unquestionably worth the price. ALSO - don’t buy the service from Apple, they take a percentage for themselves. Go to Tidal’s website itself and buy from there. You’ll save money.
Streaming signal

This app is okay. It's great for content but is not dependable to play on demand. I mean what's the point of paying?? Having to wait 2-5 minutes for a song to play because of the signal (and I'm on wifi!) The app will act as if there is no network to connect to until it eventually plays when it wants. I've heard a lot about Apple Music and I think I'll be joining them soon. I'm already paying $10 thru Tidal (and I already have a student email for the $5/month) they didn't honor it after like 3 months? Weird. Also, I've created multiple playlist and when I add a new song it says "it's not enough room" this is just for a playlist?? I'm only supporting bc of when JayZ taking partnership. I'm over it now. I support products that work.
