Okay so I got tidal a few days back and overall I am very happy with it. The quality of the music is astounding. Amazing. BUT The app, although aesthetically pleasing, is very confusing and buggy more times than not. Getting music to actually download for offline mode doesn't seem to work all the time. I have multiple tracks and albums just sitting in the queue for download but there is no option to jumpstart the downloads so I have to go in and delete and re add those songs/albums to my library. Also, when you add tracks to your collection they will only show up under tracks. If you go to artists it only shows some artists for whatever reason. So has great potential but until they fix the bugs they will not be able to compete with Spotify and Apple music. Especially when you're asking for twice the monthly cost.

Having to pick up my phone to go to another album while I’m driving puts me in a situation to get a ticket when all they have to do is add the feature to randomly shuffle through the downloaded songs after my free trail I might just go back to google music 🤷🏾‍♂️

I personally use Apple Music but since Tidal is included with my Sprint unlimited plan I still have the app, I actually really like the service and would use it over Apple Music since it’s technically free, but the only issue is I wish ALL your tracks showed up on the tracks category whether it’s an album or not because I personally like to just go to my songs category and shuffle all of my music on Apple Music, if this was updated I would definitely cancel my service with Apple and use Tidal, this is why it is a 4 star instead of

Tidal is way better then Apple Music. Apple Music has too many restrictions and doesn’t have as many albums or songs. You have to have a ear for this but the quality of the music is better as well on Tidal.

As a hobbyist dj, this is clearly the choice to make. I vibe to my playlists in the car daily, then when I’m in the clubs I bring the vibe to them, all with tidal connected to serato.

This app by far has the best music quality, above Spotify and Apple Music. Another obvious draw is the exclusivity of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s entire discography. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because there are streaming bugs that are easily fixable. With Spotify, if you’re playing on your laptop or tablet or tv, you can use your phone as a remote. It syncs across platforms. Apple Music and tidal don’t do this. Additionally I’d like for there to be a desktop application for PC/Mac that way you can easily launch your music collection when you start your computer, instead of having to go to the website. Other than that the interface, the music options, the highlights on artists and their works, I think this is truly the best streaming app and worth the couple extra dollars above Spotify and Apple.

I’ve been using Tidal for about a year on Android. I recently purchased an iPhone 7 and I can’t seem to Download any songs. I e uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. It shows that the songs are downloading in the queue but it never pops up on my downloaded tab. When I go into OFFLINE MODE it shows 3 songs in my list and if I try to play them it says I have not downloaded it yet. How do I fix this issue? I get bad service many times at work and would love to still listen to my music non stop

This app is probably the best music streaming app. I am coming from a long time use from Spotify looking for something cleaner. This app has the best interface and everything looks so smooth and clean especially on my iPhone XR. However, this application is a bit too organized. When I went to my “tracks” list I only saw a few tracks but I was expecting all the albums and EP’s I saved. I feel it would be easier if I could click the tracks and all of my saved songs would be there instead of having to leave tracks go to the albums tab to listen to a few songs of an album and switching back and forth. Other than that it’s an amazing app I just really hope this is added.

This app is ok because there are a lot of artist available, even small hometown artist from where I live which I love. However, I have so far like 645 songs because I just got the phone in like a month n half ago. I put it on shuffle, and, it always plays the same songs. It don’t matter if I shut it off and open it later it will start on same song, and play same shuffle of songs. This needs fixed please, or tell me how to fix it. This would be a great app if I didn’t have that problem. I will hit shuffle even a few times back to back and it shuffles through the same songs constantly. I would LOVE the app if this problem didn’t exist.

I signed up for a free trial to try tidal. Most of my friends have it so i decided to give it a go. Didn’t have many songs that I wanted to listen to. At the end of the month I went to cancel it but i had already been charged. I contacted them about a refund but they said it doesn’t fit within their “terms of service”. I read the refund policy and it says, they can complete a refund within 14 days of being charged (which it was) and didn’t use the account (which i didn’t). i tried to file a complaint but it sent me to a page where i would just rate the service.

I love the app, great exclusives and amazing content. The only thing that bugs me is the fact when you add an album to your collection, yeah it shows up on albums and artists page but when you go to tracks not a single song from said album is saved. You have to individually add songs to build up a track list and I just think it’d be far easier to be able to add the entire album then remove songs you do not like afterwards.

If I could rate this 1/2 star, I would but I can’t. I tested this app because I like to listen to music on the bus while heading to school. This did NOT work at all. I tried listening to music even with the WiFi on but it said I needed a membership. This app is terrible and I would not recommend it.

I love searching a song a like then it branching off into an unlimited stream of dope tracks like it. Apple Music didn’t do that and it didn’t have artists radio/customized playlists. The music also sounds really good in the car and headphones due to the high quality music files

I am a subscriber on Brazil. Your sound’s quality is very ,very good.i give you five stars for that. But I give you only one star for your advertising algorithmic. I do not like most of the new Brazilian music output, but I am sure there are new artist that I would like to hear from. But there is a bias on your offerings that show Brazilian music I don’t like at all. It will be good if your algorithmic take into account the taste I show when I choose the musics for my listening.

The app is just like any other streaming app, although u pay 12.99 u do get exclusive features like jay z and Beyoncé. The app runs slow at times but it ain’t that problematic. It’s something new to try but i haven’t gotten the hifi feature. Don’t know if it’s really worth it since the base subscription is good enough for me

Folks I am an audiophile looking for the next level of high definition sound- I thought TIDAL was going to be it! Most people writing great reviews don’t know what a great sound should be coming from your system I played multiple high definition songs such as Corcovado and the girl from ipanema- and the sound lost about 5 to 10 dB between Spotify to TIDAL Not just that, TIDAL did not have the original versions from Getz and Gilberto!! They had just the most famous ones that regular folks listen to! And last, trying to cancel the subscription within 45 minutes from uploading it to my apple device, they trick you to cancel from HiFi or Masters level of $29/month to a regular suscripción of $9.99/month!! Now I am stuck with a useless regular subscription and I cannot cancel my account and they got my credit card!! No easy way to cancel—- now I will need to find a way to do it over phone and I bet will get the bad service everyone is complaining in here!! I have never written a bad review to anything but they deserve a bad one- bad business !!

The service that tidal provides is top notch. After listening to my favorite music for about 10 mins made me realize how great of a product this is. And being a hifi subscriber I have to say it is well worth the money. But having tried many other streaming services I will have to say that the artist section on tidal needs a little work. On other platforms when you download music you can easily just go to the artist section and see all the artist that you listen to. On tidal currently you have to go to the artist profile, like it then the pop up in the artist section. I would just like to go to artist see all the artist I have either liked their profile or downloaded their music. And then I can see all the music by that artist that is in my library and select which album or tracks I want to hear. But overall I like how far tidal has grown in a short time and can’t wait to see where the platform goes next.

I have been using Tidal for years now and I am convinced that it is the only music streaming service that can provide an actual audiophile level musical experience! I make use of the Master (MQA) content and pass it decoded to a Chord Mojo DAC/headphone amplifier. The sound is incredible, thank you Tidal!

The music sounds great and the interface is ok. My biggest issue is the curation. I like discovering music and when you go to the curated play list there is nothing updated. Everything is old and dated like they gave up sometime in 2017 or 2018. If they do a better at that I think this can be a great music service.

I've never been a fan of streaming services. Usually hate the interface and just prefer to have MY music...but...Tidal is superb. All apps work great (best in class UX), plus HIFI, plus idea of patroning good artists. I tried Tidal over last few days and thinking about making it my main app for new music. And if you have a Plex subscription, you can integrate it w/ Tidal, which is nice if u like one platform for all your media.

Love the service and the app. The only complaint I have is that when using it in CarPlay the interface is difficult to navigate. Please use what AppleMusic uses and place a link under the current track back to the associated album or playlists.

I really enjoy this streaming service, the sound quality is absolutely first rate and the selection is vast. The mobile app is a bit confusing to use, could easily be explained more cogently, and sometimes, but not often, the Wi-Fi signal, or maybe the source material, gets a bit noisy. But still, for 20 bucks a month, this is a steal.

New Update Major Bugs

I love Tidal, I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now but this update ain’t it. It’s been having several bugs. 1. If I have a couple songs queued up, it’ll start playing the second song on the queue for about a second then will jump to the first song and start playing it - weird bug please fix. 2. If I have my music paused, after about 5 minutes it’ll start playing the song by itself! This has happened three times now since updating. I’ll pause the music, step away from my phone to go and do something else, then it’ll just start playing randomly out of nowhere! Please fix these bugs tidal, I love this app for music streaming but this new update has some weird bugs that need to be fixed asap please.

If you ever need customer support, theirs is not exactly the greatest. I had a difficult time not only cancelling the subscription I didn’t realize I still had (this does not show up in your phone settings, under iTunes subscriptions, like basically all other subscription services on iOS do), but I didn’t get any empathy from customer support either. Which also means I didn’t even get a partial refund.
Now that iOS has MQA I give it five stars!

There’s an annoying bug 🐛 that plays an snippet of the next song while the current song has just started playing . Very annoying . It’s a cross fading bug when you’re playing a playlist & you decide to search & play a random song when that song ends I want my playlist to resume playing , can y’all bring this feature back??? Suggestions: Being able to search for a song in a playlist.‼️‼️‼️‼️
Dreamville Trial

I’ve heard good things about Tidal recently, and went to the Dreamville Festival yesterday where Tidal was heavily advertised. I signed up hoping to watch some of the artists I missed at the festival. Seriously disappointed. The entire festival is apparently on one video where you cannot rewind/forward at ALL. Literally 12+ hours of content with no ability to choose what you are watching. I started the video and it began almost at the very end of J Cole’s set, the last part of the concert. I’ve downloaded Tidal on my Mac and on my iPhone to see if one would give me the ability to pick and choose what artists to listen to from the concert. Nope. Overall not very user-friendly like Spotify or Apple Music. Also, it did not ask me my artist preferences or genres when signing up so I don’t have any tailored music choices. Not really what I expected at all.

I love this app!!! You can get vouchers from sweatcoin, so it’s completely free!!!The quality is better than Spotify premium. The interface is very user friendly and no ads!! Spotify is nothing compared to Tidal. You can hear a quality difference. However, there are a very few artists that are not on Tidal; I think 1 or 2 at most. Great app!!

I am pretty satisfied with what it offers The most i am liking about the tidal is its interface , thats kinky blacky interface is just mesmerizing along with optimized huge library. Secondly, its quality. Almost all songs here are available in HIFI . Rather then volume factor , it emphasizes on crisp and clarity and that impress me for the second time Recently , it introduced MASTER on mobile devices as well That makes way easier to listen quality music offline and anywhere instead of messing with laptop for MASTER playback . Got another point there The only reason i am abit unhappy/disappointed is that .... tidal is offering limited Master quality albums . Even tho the albums are available in HI-RES on other music service, tidal is not doing the master job there . Being a tidal user from years , It seriously hurts not getting that specific album of my favorite artist on master quality which other services are offering ridiculously. I have like send around 100 emails requesting some albums in MASTER but idk what goes wrong there , i just keep getting the Request form which i have filled 100s of time as well . And sadly , i need to subscribe two music service for the pleasure of HI RES audio !

I’m sure the sound is great and the app is decent. However, there is no reasoning with the customer support team, and unfortunately this is what will cause Tidal to lose customers. The amount of money they are saving by falsely advertising trials and sticking hard to their “terms of service” is nothing compared to how much they will lose in the long run. It is so unfortunate because the industry needs a hifi streaming service like this.

If I could give zero I would.Got charged even though I didn’t want to renew a subscription contacted tidal while payment was still being processed so they could stop it was told no refunds your service has been canceled and finish listening till the subscription u unwillingly paid for runs out.Going back to Apple Music as soon as the subscription runs out.

Tidal is terrific! My whole family is on it, and everyone loves it. This rating is just for the app. The lack of play queue control drives me nuts. On the Tidal portion of the Naim streaming app, there is control of the play queue, but it’s missing on the iOS app. Please add this necessary feature!

I was previously an apple music user. I like the dark theme, but the graphic design is just not as elegant as the ui/look of apple music. Sometimes playing music is glitchy and songs restart. Finding new music is not very intuitive and when you first download the app it feels like the app is strictly a rap music app. The search algorithm is not good. I wish I could see the lyrics to songs. I think the credits feature is cool and the songs that keep playing that are related to the song you listened too is good. I wish it had more playlists based on things other than “moods” —> perhaps based on time periods (R&B hit of 2000s). Alternative is not listed as a genre, which I kind of understand, yet hate. The app icon does not look like it’s on the same page as the current icons for ios, which makes it appear slightly unprofessional. General use just feels clunky and discombobulating. In conclusion, you can listen to music.

Never have I ever heard of a refund not being able to happen. I have never used my tidal account and during my free trial period I was trying to figure out how to use the app. I reached out to customer service because I was charged a subscription fee before I could cancel! I don’t even know how to cancel my subscription on the app. I have spoken with two reps who refused to help me. I’m very disappointed. I would never handle a customer like this and I am a manager myself.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. I have had tidal for about 10 months now and I’ve gotten the most out of what apple offered when it comes to streaming HiFi music. One thing that was a small disappointment with the iOS app before was the inability to play MQA (Masters) content. The only way to utilize MQA content was via my MacBook Air desktop app. Today I was fooling around with the app settings and noticed that Tidal updated the app in version 2.7 to allow iPhone users the ability to listen to MQA content. I assumed this wasn’t ever going to happen due to apple’s hardware. Well now this app, which already deserves 5 stars(apples problem not tidal) has made it a must have service for Audiofile music lovers like myself. Listening to Tidal MQA music on the iPhone X with my sennheiser HD600’s through apples USB camera adapter connecting with my audio quest dragonfly red finally gives iPhone users the desired music quality they deserve. There’s not an IOS app that I’m aware of that allows better than CD quality streaming than Tidal. It’s now worth every penny spent! The only problem is that not all MQA content downloads as MQA. Some so, some don’t Oh yea, if your a military veteran you can sign up for a discounted monthly offer for the top notch account that saves you $4 a month. Thanks Tidal!

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.

I've been a dedicated Apple Music user for years but I'm looking for a change so I created a trial account and so far I've been loving it! Most music streaming services are similar so there really isn't anything revolutionary about another streaming service, it's all about preference. Tidal is a great service that provides a great app, but I have three problems with the app and web browser that are making the service difficult to fully enjoy. I don't like that it's not possible to save specific tracks of an album as ONE album, instead they save as "tracks" as a seperate category. I'm a neat freak so I like oragnization and that method of seperateing between tracks and albums is inconvenient. There should be a page for albums (you can save any tracks you want from the album) and there should be a tracks page where ALL the songs in your library are shown and there should be the option to play ALL the tracks on shuffle, or in order, etc. I also don't like that there isn't an option to organize albums by artist AND release date. The first and problem is far more important to me than the second one. I hope Tidal would make this change, if they do, they'll have a subscriber for life.

I absolutely love this streaming service! I have a very eclectic mind and listen to everything from Disney to Country to Pop to Rap, and most genres in between. One thing that I would love to see on here though is the option to search in your own playlist. I have almost 2,000 songs on my “Everyday” playlist, and it can be daunting to scroll and try to remember what number the song was. To make this easier as well, if there was a way to put artists/songs in alphabetical order from a cell phone on your individual playlist, that would be helpful. Even if a search option isn’t in the near future. I know that it is possible from a PC but I haven’t been able to on my phone. One feature that was added that I am extremely grateful for, was the “duplicate” feature. Some songs I hear on the radio, think to add them on my playlist, and before I wouldn’t know that it was already on there, but now I do! It was just in the mix of the 2,000 that I already have. All in all, I love the service/app and will (and do) recommend it to anyone that asks what I use.

I’m a mastering engineer so as you can my expectations were high for sound quality. I knew the HiFi $20/month would sound better than any other streaming service but I didn’t want to pay that much right now. So I decided to test the premium version (320kbps) against Spotify’s Extreme version (320kbps) and to my surprise Tidal was cleaner, more depth, and overall changed my experience. I am now sold to Tidal until the competition decides to raise their music quality to at least match Tidal’s premium. Tidal still has some work to do to match Spotify’s features like blocking explicit tracks and better integration with other systems like Alexa. And one of the most annoying things about Tidal for me was the constant push of hip hop in your face. I got over it once I started to play more what I liked. The home screen improved a lot after that. But if you’re serious about sound quality and still hesitating spending $20 a month don’t because their $10 version beats any other $10 service.
No streaming over cellular (AT&T)

Streaming music on cellular data hasn’t worked for over a month. All my friends and family with TIDAL have this same problem. I like TIDAL and have been trying to justify still paying for it, but at this point I’ve gotta switch to a different service. I reached out to customer support via email to ask how to fix this problem or how to get a refund, and it took 10 days before they responded and asked for my account info. I sent them back my info and a reiteration of the problem. It’s been 2 weeks with no response. I l want to support TIDAL, but they’re not allowing me to use the service they purport to provide (streaming music.) Since they’re not selling me a product, I suppose I’m just giving the company a monthly donation. It’s obvious that they know about the problem but haven’t figured out how to fix it. They’ve released several updates without addressing the problem that MANY users have brought to their attention. When I brought the problem to their attention via email they stopped responding. Again, I’d prefer to be a customer, not a donor. Unfortunately, as of right now, I’m a donor because TIDAL does not offer any service that can be used or consumed.

Been using Tidal for a while with no complaints, mostly would like to see some improvements to app like lyrics, but I’m patient and understand it might take a second to implement..Anyways for whatever reason since I updated a version or two ago, my music will not always play and sometimes it’ll cut off. Or, if I add music to the my Play Queue it will not continue playing always. This is kinda of frustrating as I know it’s not my connection because it used to always play and I have no other data issues besides Tidal randomly cutting off. Also I would love if the search could be improved sometimes you could put the EXACT word-for-word/letter-for-letter song and artist into it, and it still will not show up as some of the top results (Example: “Money” by Cardi B does not show up when searched like “Money Cardi B”, instead it shows up her other song “Money Bag” as well as a few more results from other artists before you can find it, so its a little inconvenient)

The service that tidal provides is top notch. After listening to my favorite music for about 10 mins made me realize how great of a product this is. And being a hifi subscriber I have to say it is well worth the money. But having tried many other streaming services I will have to say that the artist section on tidal needs a little work. On other platforms when you download music you can easily just go to the artist section and see all the artist that you listen to. On tidal currently you have to go to the artist profile, like it then the pop up in the artist section. I would just like to go to artist see all the artist I have either liked their profile or downloaded their music. And then I can see all the music by that artist that is in my library and select which album or tracks I want to hear. But overall I like how far tidal has grown in a short time and can’t wait to see where the platform goes next.

Love the app. Love the selection of music. Love the features like interviews, concerts, playlists and the ability to download content. Love the fact that this service shares more revenue with the artist. A few updates I would like to see in the future is the option to download singles/stand alone songs. The only way to download as of now is when the single is attached to an album. Also, it would be nice to close the app, reopen the app and still have my content in the same position it was in before it closed. If the app closes for any amount of time, I have to go in an find the album I was listening to all over again. Maybe Tidal can be installed directly to a device, like “apple music” is and that way Tidal can work as a mechanism of the phone instead of just a web based app. This would help with functionality a lot. Like I said, LOVE the app. I will continue my subscription. Just my two cents.
Great music stream app but one mistake is happening

Ever since the first couple of updates on the app there’s been a problem with the play queue you put on the right side . I put a bunch of music in the “play next” and “add to play queue”. I use the play queue a lot for new music or just a set of songs I want to use . But now what happens is once a song is finished being played the song completely disappears from the song list on the right . It never used to be like this in the past. The song used to stay in the playlist you made on the right side so I can go back and save the songs I added as playlist. If this doesn’t come back it’s going to be frustrating listening to music. If I add a buck a songs to the queue and I accidentally hit a whole album to play , all the songs I put in the queue completely disappears. In previous versions of the app the songs I put in the play queue would remain there. If there’s any way they fix that problem this app would be 5 stars no question.

I love just about everything about Tidal. The expansive music library, the exclusive content, the articles, the series, podcasts, videos, live shows...I can get every single thing that I need for my music fix from this app. It’s honestly unmatched. The ONLY complaint that I have is that the “Add to Play Queue” feature doesn’t work correctly when music is already playing. If I’m trying to add an album to my queue to play after the one that’s currently playing, it inserts all of the songs into the middle of the current album’s tracklist instead of starting it after the current album finishes. It drives me CRAZY. It makes the feature essentially the same as the “Play Next” option and it only works correctly when no music is playing. Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue. It’s the only thing keeping Tidal from being a perfect app!

I’m really enjoying the new interface of Tidal. It’s very sleek and modern. And I love the curated playlists. It’s very easy to be able to find new underground artists. However I do have some ideas that could make Tidal a more user friendly streaming service. There should be an option to organize a playlist alphabetically and also to be able to search for a song within a playlist. Another minor annoyance I have is having duplicate songs within a playlist. I wish it would say “This song is already added”. A minor issues I have are the shuffle is usually in the same order so I’m listening to the same songs in that order whenever I listen to that playlist. I also have that same issue with artist radio. Like I already said, these are minor issues, however very useful. Would just like to see them implemented since other streaming services have them as well.

The bugs that I've noticed recently is that when I add a song to my playlist accidentally and then I go to my playlist and try to delete it but then it won't let me! But when I go to another playlist I'm able to delete songs there but not my playlist! TIDAL please fix this issue because it can get really annoying quickly! The app itself is very well made and one thing you should add is to delete certain things on the 'Search' bar because deleting all my searched songs and artist is just dumb I try to remember them but I can't because I had to delete my whole search history because of one person! Over all the app is great and I'll continue to use it! Basically to sum things up... is that I can no longer delete songs from my playlist and I can no longer move songs from my playlist, if I try to move a song it will say " Playlist Must be updated first" witch I don't know how to 'Update' my playlist! I would also like to say for the new IOS 11 update I am able to screen record! So I have proof that this glitch is happening!
TIDAL has changed the way I listen and explore

TIDAL has been a revelation to me! The sound is terrific over my high-end audio system; and especially over headphones with my Firefly Red and beloved vintage Sennheiser 560iis. But best of all is that I can listen to something, then explore practically forever following threads of the performer, composer, instruments, etc. I listen mainly to classical and jazz, almost never to insanely crappy contemporary pop. I wish the track display for music being played worked better for classical - there's a lot to display in classical: Composer, piece, movement number, movement name, artist - none of the on-line services or iTunes seem to have the display adequately covered. The HD sound is usually as good as CDs played on my Naim CD player, which admittedly is getting pretty old by now. It's best over Firefly/headphones, is a little compromised by Apple AirPlay into the HiFi, haven't tried an outboard DAC yet. But overall it's good enough that I'm about ready to box up and put in storage the probably 1200 CDs that take up a huge amount of our small living space. I'm not very convinced of MQA yet. Some tracks sound really fine; but a lot of others sound "disembodied", a bit veiled, and there are others with what sound like smearing or digital artifacts. Maybe some of it has to do with the Firefly decoding?

I’ve been an Apple subscriber for several years, and I was ready to make the full switch if this app delivered on sound quality, even though I would be paying literally double what I’m paying for Apple. The verdict: I am an Audiophile, and while Tidal’s Master Quality material does sound good, it’s not actually that much better. Not only that, but most artists I listen to didn’t have the Master versions available, which resulted in most albums sounding identical to Apple. I tried it out on my home system and my incredible Bose system in my car, and was not blown away. Furthermore, the app is unbelievably laggy and glitchy. I kept having to restart the app, and even then it wouldn’t work properly most of the time. In the end I cancelled my HiFi subscription within the first hour. Bring the HiFi price down to meet Apple’s prices, and we’ll talk. Until then, Apple still has my business.

I have been with Tidal for a while now (over about 2 years now) and they have gone such a long way. One thing that, for me at least, is a big flaw is that “content already download will continue to playback in the original download quality.” This feature has been EATING UP my data when I’m streaming over my LIMITED cellular data from Verizon. This basically causes any song that has been downloaded (in my case, all mostly under HiFi quality) will also play in HiFi quality over a cellular connection (even though streaming over cellular has been set to just “Normal” quality). Once this is fixed, I would gladly give a full 5 star review! I have been running out of 8 GB’s worth of data mostly just from Tidal. That is fine over a WiFi connection or if you have unlimited, but I am not one of those folks. Please fix this ASAP

The music section for children is severely limited. The app isn't configured to work on the Apple Watch. The app often signs me out and my password doesn't work so I have to reset it over and over again. I may have no choice but to cancel soon if the changes are being updated. *Update* a new update for the app has been lingering. Every time I click on it it takes to the App Store and doesn't update 😠 idk if Apple is try to make it hard for Tidal but my frustrations are mounting. *UPDATE* The app won’t connect via Bluetooth to anything! Every other streaming app works but Tidal. I could be an Apple thing. In my car I can’t plug my phone up to charge & listen to music at the same time. It’s very frustrating. The bypass was Bluetooth. I’ve tried to not charge my phone to listen & that doesn’t work either. The only way I can listen or operate the app is if I listen to it without connecting to anything.

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...
Great exclusive content

I’m a musician myself, so I chose Tidal after researching and finding it pays the artists the largest percentage of any streaming service. I love Tidal Rising and what it does for upcoming artists and they have some really great exclusive content. Other streaming services just offer artist playlists and things, but Tidal has some very cool exclusive video content that you won’t find competition for anywhere else. My only real complaints have to do with the app itself. As a lot of users have talked about, sorting isn’t easy and it’s frustrating that you have to type EXACTLY what you’re looking for into the search to have hope of finding it. Additionally, there are a lot of duplicate albums and albums assigned to incorrect artist pages because the artists have the same name. I would hope as they gain users, they’ll address these issues.
EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I signed up for the free trial to give it a go and loved the service itself yet I wasn’t planning on giving it a go just yet so I cancelled through my settings on my phone by going into subscriptions. I wasn’t aware of the fact that Tidal had stored my payment information and would charge me this month for a service I didn’t knowingly ask for. When I made their support team aware of this they basically said “It’s your own fault” and refused to refund me. I’m extremely disappointed with this, especially because it’s tied to Beyoncé who I love and respect. I truly wish their support becomes better for issues like this because its problematic to charge people without them knowing. Apparently from what I’ve read in other reviews other people have also claimed this problem. I am having to contact my BANK over several charges over the last few months I was finally made aware of. Tidal has taken about $40 of my money without me knowing. This is absolutely unacceptable all around.

Love the app been using it the past three years and never switched to a different music service. Literally ALL my music is in tidal because that’s how much I love it. Never had a problem until now. I can no longer add songs with the “Add to play queue” function which is super useful (you can add songs to play after the one currently playing and it’ll keep them in there). I noticed the feature is gone and now you can only play consecutive songs if they’re in a playlist. This suuuucks because I really relied on the play queue it’s so easy to use and organize and it keeps the songs in whatever order they were played in!!!! AND you can even rearrange them and it’ll keep them in the order you place them!!!! Please fix!!!! Keep the app amazing!!!!

A lot of folks ask how something this new can compete. Here's how 1. Way more music than Apple Music. All of jays albums first of all, in my mind by Pharrell is up, a lot of underground rappers too. Even if you do not like rap recognize they pay more to each artist and likely have more of you're style regardless. 2. They offer a 90 day free trial. This lets you get a feel of the app. I think I may switch from Apple and I'm 3 weeks in. 3. If you're seriously into music then consider their lossless cd quality streaming for 20 a month. That's right they have two different streaming qualities. Don't confuse it the 9 dollar a month is just as good if not better than Apple. However the 20 a month may be good for musical mentors and other musicians. Nice addition.

I’m having issues when playing Hi-Fi. When connected via Bluetooth or any other way to any system it won’t play the next track, or it will repeat the same track despite having the repeat off. I’ve tried it on my celular network and on WiFi, downloaded or streaming and it just won’t play. It is extremely annoying because when it does play the music quality is outstanding. This issue seams to go away when I switch to regular quality. Note that this isn’t that it’s loading the next track because the tidal logo doesn’t show on the album cover and it just won’t play (I’m very patient lol) only happens when connected via Bluetooth, USB or lightning to aux. Paying for Hi-Fi quality would expect to be able to listen to my music. Hopefully this can get fixed before my next payment otherwise I see no reason to pay for something I can’t use. Yes my music systems are capable of playing hi-fi.

Curated playlists for holidays, seasons, genres, and artists - and that doesn’t say it all becouse it doesn’t explain how clever the playlists are - for thanksgiving there were several playlists; including slow songs for family and a “turkey turn it up” with more vibrant songs to get you ready for all the football. Any song you can think of is there, all the popular videos including the old ones and many videos that aren’t so popular. It has the usual quality like apple and the others but it also has an option for lostless audio. The interface is also a pleasure to use. You get the feeling that your using a high end product that someone cared greatly about when they created it.

Hands down this is the best streaming service. Quality wise the other services don’t even compare. I love the app layout and I love the new “mixes” feature. Coming from Apple Music to tidal was a big jump as far as quality goes. I pay for tidal hifi and my daily music experience has been upgraded completely it’s no way I could ever go back. I hope tidal continues to make strides to becoming the most used streaming service. Now I rarely have a complaint but my only wish is that they would add a “shuffle all” button. Sometimes I like to listen to all the music in my library not just a specific artist/album and I don’t always wanna have to make a playlist. This would be a great feature to add just a suggestion :)

I am extremely disappointed and not happy with how this Lil Wayne concert was handled from a real subscriber. I voted on Atlanta to be picked for the concert and I was unable to attend. Furthermore, I rsvp’d to the concert and was not even given a new location to pick up what I rsvp’d for. Instead I was met with an short email with location and time doors. So I got through the trouble of standing in line at 6pm. All of that to get up to the line around 7:30 and discover you need a wristband and lanyard. It was never mentioned in the email what time they were handed out nor had I had any other further communication with Tidal about where to pick up tickets. I am shocked at the incompetency of the team that coordinated this event as it was unorganized. Which says a lot about the company in general. As a premium subscriber I know My time is valuable and I’d like to receive a one year free subscription to Tidal for free to right this wrong. Without it I’m not sure I can support an app that wastes my time and money.

I am pretty satisfied with what it offers The most i am liking about the tidal is its interface , thats kinky blacky interface is just mesmerizing along with optimized huge library. Secondly, its quality. Almost all songs here are available in HIFI . Rather then volume factor , it emphasizes on crisp and clarity and that impress me for the second time Recently , it introduced MASTER on mobile devices as well That makes way easier to listen quality music offline and anywhere instead of messing with laptop for MASTER playback . Got another point there The only reason i am abit unhappy/disappointed is that .... tidal is offering limited Master quality albums . Even tho the albums are available in HI-RES on other music service, tidal is not doing the master job there . Being a tidal user from years , It seriously hurts not getting that specific album of my favorite artist on master quality which other services are offering ridiculously. I have like send around 100 emails requesting some albums in MASTER but idk what goes wrong there , i just keep getting the Request form which i have filled 100s of time as well . And sadly , i need to subscribe two music service for the pleasure of HI RES audio !

No buffering no ads no interruptions and endless music from any genre. On vacation, over seas with poor WiFi and everything I downloaded plays crystal clear through my portable JBL speaker. Turning a quiet pool area into a party scene and everybody loving it especially the older white people from different parts of the world. I can’t afford another bill but I’d spend my last to make sure my subscription is valid!!! Tidal is valid!!! Plus, I’m from the Stuy and a die hard J fan from day one so I’m probably subconsciously impartial. I work two jobs and I have 6 kids, therefore my music is a must at any given time! I seriously love tidal. I know there are some kinks that some would like worked out, but for me its the only music streaming app that I have stuck with. I have dropped all of the other apps after the free period wears off except this one. I think its partly do to the amount of exclusive material from artists I want to hear. And I love the selection of music. My one negative would be the search engine. I don't know what its like with other music spots, but if I don't spell something perfectly then I cant find what I want. I would prefer it was more like google. Give me a ballpark. Example: Im looking for “P!NK” but I spell it “PINK”. Then I may have a difficult time finding her music. Thats not cool but I would still give a 4.5 star if that was an option.

This is a great streaming service. I’m able to find tons of music that I love from all genres and different periods of time. This is the best streaming service out and the design/layout of the app is perfect. I love the look. I would like to see Tidal allow you to play music from multiple devices while using the same account at the same time. My fiancé and I got to the gym together and we both love using Tidal while we workout but only one of us can use it at a time so of course I let her win that one. But it’ll be great to be able to use it at the same time. Thanks to everyone at Tidal for your efforts to maintain and improve the quality of the app and service. I love this streaming service. I’m a music engineering and producing student, and with TIDAL HiFi, you are listening to music at the frequency rate of CD (for those that don’t know, mp3 is the lowest fidelity of listening to music, so the sound quality of HiFi is impeccably better and more dynamic - the highs are higher and lows are lower, deeper bass). On the computer, there are also a handful of albums available in the master format with TIDAL Masters, and this is better than vinyl quality. I love being able to separate my albums from my tracks, too. While I wish it sorted my music by genre and also I didn’t have to add a playlist to have my tracks downloaded, it’s worth the hassle. If you care about audio quality, there really is no other way to go.

Listen, i rarely, if ever write a review. Tidal asked me to rate so i gave it 5 stars because i love this app. Periodt! Im not sure if My Mix was ever there before (it may have been further down on the front page) but anyway its at the top now! I hated apple music suggestion playlist. They were such trash. Tidal not only categorizes it bu artist i listen to in my own but they don't mix ratchet and old school. They also don't add songs i have on my playlist already so it gives me an opportunity to listen to alternative songs by artist i love and potentially add to my personal playlist! I also love that Tidal gives me 3 My Mix options so that one can be for example r&b, another can be rap and another can be old school or soulful music. Great job TIDAL!

I love this streaming platform for the fact that it provides Edited versions of songs/albums readily available. One issue I ran into was the music stopping anytime I opened the camera for my phone. This was in the camera app or in messages when trying to take a picture. I feel the music shouldn’t stop when this happens. Another thing are the songs starting over after some time away from the app. This would help me to give this app 5 stars. Something else that’s a suggestion is having a kid friendly option for families? It would be tough, but finding a way to have edited versions of songs have its own section would be dope so we wouldn’t have to weed out edited and explicit songs. Just a thought, though.

For the past 4 Days I have been unable to play any of my Tidal music unless I am on my WiFi..it refuses to play anything through my cellular data.!!! I never had this problem before, until the last update.!!! Now, unless I am on a WiFi service , this little pink bar will pop up telling me that it is “unable to get audio stream”.!! I’ve never had this issue before. I have submitted 3 help request tickets and have yet to get a response or any type of feedback. I would have rated this app 5 stars, cause I really enjoyed it when I was able to use it.!! Enjoyed it so much that I upgraded to the family plan. However now, I’m being billed for an app that I can’t even use. Does anybody have some suggestions on what I can do.?!!?! I’m not having any of these problems with my Apple Music streaming, so it’s definitely not my phone or my phone services.!!!!! I just want to be able to enjoy my Tidal again :-(

I usually don't write a lot of reviews for apps, but I wanted to for this one because it's so great! I've had other streaming services, but when "Lemonade" came out, I couldn't help but switch over. It was definitely worth it though as I've stayed this long. Tidal is just so amazing! They offer tons of exclusives in terms of shows & music (like I said, Beyoncé's "Lemonade" and then later on Jay-Z's "4:44" plus others), a wide variety of great playlists, music & podcasts and introduce new artists I probably wouldn't know otherwise. Music releases are still on time like other streaming services and it just feels very personalized. The student discount is wonderful and I can't imagine subscribing to another streaming service!

I love and support this streaming platform! The reason I did not give it a five star is due to the much needed work to the music similarities compiling for the “Tracking Radio” or the “Mood” option. The music of choice should be well matched by tempo, melodies, context etc. To often tracks that are high tempo and don’t match in lyrical content may find itself in a list of songs that is its exact contrast to the mood list or the primary track chosen for “track Radio.” For example: during Christmas I picked Chris Brown “This Christmas” as the Track Radio. As soon as the track finished a list of current rap songs played without another Christmas song to match the original chosen songs mood. Those options should run as if a Dj with great record and crowd knowledge, but them together. Outside of that the app is phenomenal.

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

I have been using Tidal since it was released. I have only had minor problems with it like small bugs that are fixed rather quickly with updates. However, for the last week, 90% of the songs I try to stream will not play. A small pink message at the bottom of the screen appears and says “unable to get audio stream.” I contacted tidal support by submitting a request. I have received two pre canned e-mails stating they will get back to me as soon as they can. The e-mail also asks me to go to their support page to see if I can fix the problem myself. The support page only prompts me to submit a support ticket. I’ll be happy to change my rating of this app if support gets back to me promptly but, at this point there will be no five star rating by any means. I’m paying for your service and to have my issue be brushed off is ridiculous. I’m going to give it one more day and then I’m changing streaming services.

Soo I love the app. I don’t use any other music streaming source period. However with recent updates, their are minor things that I would like for you guys to go back to. My number 1 is my play queue! I can select several albums to play and once it plays it deletes off of my play queue. I can’t go back to listen to it again or listen to it later. That was one of my favorite things, being able to have started a playlist in the play queue and then going back to it later, or clearing it when I wanted to. Even when I select the add to queue it does the same thing and deletes the track after it is played. I have know idea what you guys did to the algorithm but please change it back. Even with this minor issue I still ride for Tidal. Great App!
Duplication Glitch with Large Playlists

I love my Tidal HiFi subscription and my experience with the app overall. However, when downloading large playlists for offline use in the app (24 hours or more), random songs duplicate and repeat within the playlist and play queue. As a result, the same 30 songs will repeat in a play queue even though it should be made up of 556 songs or so, sometimes even playing the same song three times in a row. The playlist will still show 556 songs total in the information section but when scrolling through the playlist to the final song of the playlist (because of songs being tripled and quadrupled) the numbering ends up being 1430 or sometimes more. Restarting the app does not fix the problem. Only uninstalling the app and reinstalling it temporarily fixes the problem until songs are downloaded for use in offline mode. As someone who lives in an area with poor cellular service, offline mode is a necessity. Although I love Tidal HiFi and think it is the best music streaming service available, I am thinking about canceling my membership from the sheer frustration of the app repeatedly glitching and playing the same 30 songs on repeat in a 556 song playlist. I hope this problem will be addressed soon and remedied.

I really like the Tidal app, how it’s setup and all the functions it gives are great. Also like the fact that almost all songs are available, more songs than other regular music streaming apps. And with the student discount it’s really affordable. There is only one thing that I don’t like; the last update gave the option to search in My Collection Tracks, Albums and Artists etc. witch is really handy! It would be really great if the search function also is available in my own playlists. That way I can start a playlist with exactly the right song, without having to search and scroll through the whole list. Would be an great addition.

The sound quality is the best of all streaming services. Well that’s where the good of it ends however. Whatever algorithm is being used to determine a track’s “radio” needs to be worked on. Regardless of what track I pick to start a radio station from, the resulting tracks always have a bias toward hip-hop and R&B and way off with what should be played. And there is still no “global” explicit language filter setting like other services. I played a clean innocent song for my young son and then started a station from it only to have several songs with explicit language play several songs into the station. I subscribed because I got an offer to renew for 1.99/mo hoping these issues would have been fixed since last time I had the service...but they are not. I will not be renewing after my offer expires.

I enjoy the ease of having new music at my finger tips and to be able to download songs right to my phone! This is very important especially on plane rides. I hate risking a boring ride over slow internet. I also love the exclusivity of new releases. I’ll admit I only discovered and locked in to Tidal because of Beyoncé’s Lemonade Album being released only on Tidal for a while. I think it’s great to see Blacks thriving in free enterprise! I love to support my own, always. I used to buy my songs through iTunes and spend tons of money on less. Paying a monthly subscription to all of this music is bomb! This app keeps getting better and better. Great job to all the stakeholders!

It is a great product and in my opinion worth the price. The interface takes some getting used to. Many people complain that the shuffle does not work very well, however I've come to learn that the shuffle shuffled EVERYTHING BELOW the song you start the playlist with. This is actually quite nice when you don't feel like listening to a particular set of songs and just want to shuffle between a select few in the same playlist. Just click and drag. There is the occasional bug like the app closing when navigating with a poor connection or poor signal. Otherwise, the combination of music videos, documentaries, even full on short films in addition to the songs is well worth the price of 9.99 a month!

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

Has a majority of the music i also have on apple and then some. I prefer to use Tidal whenever possible. I love the way tidal looks and it is easy to use mostly. My issue with tidal is that sometimes music doesn’t load/play at all. The song will “play” but there’s no audio, it’s just progressing through the song. Sometimes if i skip a song it will allow that song to play. But other times i have to close the app all together to play the song that i want to. I support tidal, there are some technical issues that are the main reason why i have to play my music on other apps. Otherwise I’d choose tidal 10/10. Also please consider implementing a student discount similar to Apple Music.

I have had Tidal for nearly a year and have been pretty satisfied with the service. The past month has been difficult though because the music randomly stops playing while listening as well as a ticking noise that all of a sudden starts causing me to have to delete the window to refresh the app and start the song all over again. I don’t want to cancel my subscription but with there being so many other music streaming services not having these annoying issues, I may be forced to do so soon. I’m willing to allow an update to happen to fix these bugs but it needs to be soon. I have a few road trips coming up this summer and would hate to not be able to stream music to get me through the long driving hours lol.

Okay so I got tidal a few days back and overall I am very happy with it. The quality of the music is astounding. Amazing. BUT The app, although aesthetically pleasing, is very confusing and buggy more times than not. Getting music to actually download for offline mode doesn't seem to work all the time. I have multiple tracks and albums just sitting in the queue for download but there is no option to jumpstart the downloads so I have to go in and delete and re add those songs/albums to my library. Also, when you add tracks to your collection they will only show up under tracks. If you go to artists it only shows some artists for whatever reason. So has great potential but until they fix the bugs they will not be able to compete with Spotify and Apple music. Especially when you're asking for twice the monthly cost.

Having to pick up my phone to go to another album while I’m driving puts me in a situation to get a ticket when all they have to do is add the feature to randomly shuffle through the downloaded songs after my free trail I might just go back to google music 🤷🏾‍♂️

I personally use Apple Music but since Tidal is included with my Sprint unlimited plan I still have the app, I actually really like the service and would use it over Apple Music since it’s technically free, but the only issue is I wish ALL your tracks showed up on the tracks category whether it’s an album or not because I personally like to just go to my songs category and shuffle all of my music on Apple Music, if this was updated I would definitely cancel my service with Apple and use Tidal, this is why it is a 4 star instead of

Tidal is way better then Apple Music. Apple Music has too many restrictions and doesn’t have as many albums or songs. You have to have a ear for this but the quality of the music is better as well on Tidal.

This app by far has the best music quality, above Spotify and Apple Music. Another obvious draw is the exclusivity of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s entire discography. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because there are streaming bugs that are easily fixable. With Spotify, if you’re playing on your laptop or tablet or tv, you can use your phone as a remote. It syncs across platforms. Apple Music and tidal don’t do this. Additionally I’d like for there to be a desktop application for PC/Mac that way you can easily launch your music collection when you start your computer, instead of having to go to the website. Other than that the interface, the music options, the highlights on artists and their works, I think this is truly the best streaming app and worth the couple extra dollars above Spotify and Apple.

I’ve been using Tidal for about a year on Android. I recently purchased an iPhone 7 and I can’t seem to Download any songs. I e uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. It shows that the songs are downloading in the queue but it never pops up on my downloaded tab. When I go into OFFLINE MODE it shows 3 songs in my list and if I try to play them it says I have not downloaded it yet. How do I fix this issue? I get bad service many times at work and would love to still listen to my music non stop

This app is probably the best music streaming app. I am coming from a long time use from Spotify looking for something cleaner. This app has the best interface and everything looks so smooth and clean especially on my iPhone XR. However, this application is a bit too organized. When I went to my “tracks” list I only saw a few tracks but I was expecting all the albums and EP’s I saved. I feel it would be easier if I could click the tracks and all of my saved songs would be there instead of having to leave tracks go to the albums tab to listen to a few songs of an album and switching back and forth. Other than that it’s an amazing app I just really hope this is added.

I got my subscription to Tidal through Sprints unlimited plan. Never thought I would use a music streaming app but here I am using it pretty much every day. Very happy and user friendly.
Shuffle

This app is ok because there are a lot of artist available, even small hometown artist from where I live which I love. However, I have so far like 645 songs because I just got the phone in like a month n half ago. I put it on shuffle, and, it always plays the same songs. It don’t matter if I shut it off and open it later it will start on same song, and play same shuffle of songs. This needs fixed please, or tell me how to fix it. This would be a great app if I didn’t have that problem. I will hit shuffle even a few times back to back and it shuffles through the same songs constantly. I would LOVE the app if this problem didn’t exist.

I signed up for a free trial to try tidal. Most of my friends have it so i decided to give it a go. Didn’t have many songs that I wanted to listen to. At the end of the month I went to cancel it but i had already been charged. I contacted them about a refund but they said it doesn’t fit within their “terms of service”. I read the refund policy and it says, they can complete a refund within 14 days of being charged (which it was) and didn’t use the account (which i didn’t). i tried to file a complaint but it sent me to a page where i would just rate the service.

I love the app, great exclusives and amazing content. The only thing that bugs me is the fact when you add an album to your collection, yeah it shows up on albums and artists page but when you go to tracks not a single song from said album is saved. You have to individually add songs to build up a track list and I just think it’d be far easier to be able to add the entire album then remove songs you do not like afterwards.

I tried listening to music even with the WiFi on but it said I needed a membership. This app is terrible and I would not recommend it.

I love searching a song a like then it branching off into an unlimited stream of dope tracks like it. Apple Music didn’t do that and it didn’t have artists radio/customized playlists. The music also sounds really good in the car and headphones due to the high quality music files

I do not like most of the new Brazilian music output, but I am sure there are new artist that I would like to hear from. But there is a bias on your offerings that show Brazilian music I don’t like at all. It will be good if your algorithmic take into account the taste I show when I choose the musics for my listening.

The app is just like any other streaming app, although u pay 12.99 u do get exclusive features like jay z and Beyoncé. The app runs slow at times but it ain’t that problematic. It’s something new to try but i haven’t gotten the hifi feature. Don’t know if it’s really worth it since the base subscription is good enough for me

Folks I am an audiophile looking for the next level of high definition sound- I thought TIDAL was going to be it! Most people writing great reviews don’t know what a great sound should be coming from your system I played multiple high definition songs such as Corcovado and the girl from ipanema- and the sound lost about 5 to 10 dB between Spotify to TIDAL Not just that, TIDAL did not have the original versions from Getz and Gilberto!! They had just the most famous ones that regular folks listen to! And last, trying to cancel the subscription within 45 minutes from uploading it to my apple device, they trick you to cancel from HiFi or Masters level of $29/month to a regular suscripción of $9.99/month!! Now I am stuck with a useless regular subscription and I cannot cancel my account and they got my credit card!! No easy way to cancel—- now I will need to find a way to do it over phone and I bet will get the bad service everyone is complaining in here!! I have never written a bad review to anything but they deserve a bad one- bad business !!

The service that tidal provides is top notch. After listening to my favorite music for about 10 mins made me realize how great of a product this is. And being a hifi subscriber I have to say it is well worth the money. But having tried many other streaming services I will have to say that the artist section on tidal needs a little work. On other platforms when you download music you can easily just go to the artist section and see all the artist that you listen to. On tidal currently you have to go to the artist profile, like it then the pop up in the artist section. I would just like to go to artist see all the artist I have either liked their profile or downloaded their music. And then I can see all the music by that artist that is in my library and select which album or tracks I want to hear. But overall I like how far tidal has grown in a short time and can’t wait to see where the platform goes next.

I have been using Tidal for years now and I am convinced that it is the only music streaming service that can provide an actual audiophile level musical experience! I make use of the Master (MQA) content and pass it decoded to a Chord Mojo DAC/headphone amplifier. The sound is incredible, thank you Tidal!

The music sounds great and the interface is ok. My biggest issue is the curation. I like discovering music and when you go to the curated play list there is nothing updated. Everything is old and dated like they gave up sometime in 2017 or 2018. If they do a better at that I think this can be a great music service.

I've never been a fan of streaming services. Usually hate the interface and just prefer to have MY music...but...Tidal is superb. All apps work great (best in class UX), plus HIFI, plus idea of patroning good artists. I tried Tidal over last few days and thinking about making it my main app for new music. And if you have a Plex subscription, you can integrate it w/ Tidal, which is nice if u like one platform for all your media.

I really enjoy this streaming service, the sound quality is absolutely first rate and the selection is vast. The mobile app is a bit confusing to use, could easily be explained more cogently, and sometimes, but not often, the Wi-Fi signal, or maybe the source material, gets a bit noisy. But still, for 20 bucks a month, this is a steal.

I love Tidal, I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now but this update ain’t it. It’s been having several bugs. 1. If I have a couple songs queued up, it’ll start playing the second song on the queue for about a second then will jump to the first song and start playing it - weird bug please fix. 2. If I have my music paused, after about 5 minutes it’ll start playing the song by itself! This has happened three times now since updating. I’ll pause the music, step away from my phone to go and do something else, then it’ll just start playing randomly out of nowhere! Please fix these bugs tidal, I love this app for music streaming but this new update has some weird bugs that need to be fixed asap please.

If you ever need customer support, theirs is not exactly the greatest. I had a difficult time not only cancelling the subscription I didn’t realize I still had (this does not show up in your phone settings, under iTunes subscriptions, like basically all other subscription services on iOS do), but I didn’t get any empathy from customer support either. Which also means I didn’t even get a partial refund.
Now that iOS has MQA I give it five stars!

There’s an annoying bug 🐛 that plays an snippet of the next song while the current song has just started playing . Very annoying . It’s a cross fading bug when you’re playing a playlist & you decide to search & play a random song when that song ends I want my playlist to resume playing , can y’all bring this feature back??? I’ve heard good things about Tidal recently, and went to the Dreamville Festival yesterday where Tidal was heavily advertised. I signed up hoping to watch some of the artists I missed at the festival. Seriously disappointed. The entire festival is apparently on one video where you cannot rewind/forward at ALL. Literally 12+ hours of content with no ability to choose what you are watching. I started the video and it began almost at the very end of J Cole’s set, the last part of the concert. I’ve downloaded Tidal on my Mac and on my iPhone to see if one would give me the ability to pick and choose what artists to listen to from the concert. Nope. Overall not very user-friendly like Spotify or Apple Music. Also, it did not ask me my artist preferences or genres when signing up so I don’t have any tailored music choices. Not really what I expected at all.

I am pretty satisfied with what it offers The most i am liking about the tidal is its interface , thats kinky blacky interface is just mesmerizing along with optimized huge library. Secondly, its quality. Almost all songs here are available in HIFI . Rather then volume factor , it emphasizes on crisp and clarity and that impress me for the second time Recently , it introduced MASTER on mobile devices as well That makes way easier to listen quality music offline and anywhere instead of messing with laptop for MASTER playback . Got another point there The only reason i am abit unhappy/disappointed is that .... tidal is offering limited Master quality albums . Even tho the albums are available in HI-RES on other music service, tidal is not doing the master job there . Being a tidal user from years , It seriously hurts not getting that specific album of my favorite artist on master quality which other services are offering ridiculously. I have like send around 100 emails requesting some albums in MASTER but idk what goes wrong there , i just keep getting the Request form which i have filled 100s of time as well . And sadly , i need to subscribe two music service for the pleasure of HI RES audio !

I’m sure the sound is great and the app is decent. However, there is no reasoning with the customer support team, and unfortunately this is what will cause Tidal to lose customers. The amount of money they are saving by falsely advertising trials and sticking hard to their “terms of service” is nothing compared to how much they will lose in the long run. It is so unfortunate because the industry needs a hifi streaming service like this.

Tidal is terrific! My whole family is on it, and everyone loves it. This rating is just for the app. The lack of play queue control drives me nuts. On the Tidal portion of the Naim streaming app, there is control of the play queue, but it’s missing on the iOS app. Please add this necessary feature!

I was previously an apple music user. I like the dark theme, but the graphic design is just not as elegant as the ui/look of apple music. Sometimes playing music is glitchy and songs restart. Finding new music is not very intuitive and when you first download the app it feels like the app is strictly a rap music app. The search algorithm is not good. I wish I could see the lyrics to songs. I think the credits feature is cool and the songs that keep playing that are related to the song you listened too is good. I wish it had more playlists based on things other than “moods” —> perhaps based on time periods (R&B hit of 2000s). Alternative is not listed as a genre, which I kind of understand, yet hate. The app icon does not look like it’s on the same page as the current icons for ios, which makes it appear slightly unprofessional. General use just feels clunky and discombobulating. In conclusion, you can listen to music.

Never have I ever heard of a refund not being able to happen. I have never used my tidal account and during my free trial period I was trying to figure out how to use the app. I reached out to customer service because I was charged a subscription fee before I could cancel! I don’t even know how to cancel my subscription on the app. I have spoken with two reps who refused to help me. I’m very disappointed. I would never handle a customer like this and I am a manager myself.

This is by far the best sounding streaming app available and I pay the $20 a month to keep it going. I love the interface only minor things that would make it the best for music lovers. For example i find it repulsive and annoying that i have to scroll for a track or album instead of bein able to search. Im not tryna crash my whip to find Frank Ocean’s album amongst the hundreds. Would b greatly helpful to change that (especially seein as how this is spose to be designed for music lovers, we have HUGE amounts of music) I also think if yall had some better playlists available. Maybe should look at ur users playlists for possible curators (wink wink) but in all seriousness yall do suggest new albums but rarely the obscurity that most music lovers are looking for not just the chart toppers or best known content. We want things that make people say “whats this” or “who made this playlist” Last suggestion is this, please promote ur streaming site as a musicians playground. Bein able to find other ppl as deep into music as me would be cool. Seein what others are listening to and also bein able to connect via the various social media platforms because this is obviously for those of us who have an extreme interest in sound quality and are willing to come to Tidal to experience something greater, give us that. I have had tidal for about 10 months now and I’ve gotten the most out of what apple offered when it comes to streaming HiFi music. One thing that was a small disappointment with the iOS app before was the inability to play MQA (Masters) content. The only way to utilize MQA content was via my MacBook Air desktop app. Today I was fooling around with the app settings and noticed that Tidal updated the app in version 2.7 to allow iPhone users the ability to listen to MQA content. I assumed this wasn’t ever going to happen due to apple’s hardware. Well now this app, which already deserves 5 stars(apples problem not tidal) has made it a must have service for Audiofile music lovers like myself. Listening to Tidal MQA music on the iPhone X with my sennheiser HD600’s through apples USB camera adapter connecting with my audio quest dragonfly red finally gives iPhone users the desired music quality they deserve. There’s not an IOS app that I’m aware of that allows better than CD quality streaming than Tidal. It’s now worth every penny spent! The only problem is that not all MQA content downloads as MQA. Some so, some don’t Oh yea, if your a military veteran you can sign up for a discounted monthly offer for the top notch account that saves you $4 a month. Thanks Tidal!

I started selling high end audio equipment back in the 90s, to me the popularity signaled the end of the high end audio Industry and the backlash of consumers against record companies for producing and supporting music distribution mediums that wore out, or scratched easily. I should have known better that people would help move file based music into the hi-fi so many of us cling too. Supported by this trend, I signed up for Tidal with a hi-fi account. The sound quality does come through, and my Oppo application usually works with Tidal, that about where my satisfaction with Tidal ends. First UX, what year is it? Offline sorting, display of albums, vs artist and general navigation smack of early 2000s expect the availability of modern program languages reveal either the incompetence of Tidal’s product team or they have outsourced their UX to a bank. Customer support is impossible to contact. The last time I tried, their wasn’t any authentication between the app my account and their ticketing system, so each time I wrote a ticket and submitted it, I got a message saying I wasn’t authorized. I unsuccessfully emailed and took to Twitter, none of the channels replied. What a dismal and useless waste of money. I consider this a major management failure. Good luck, when you are selling for pennies on the dollar refer to this review. Make your customers happy and they won’t have to lower their gaze when people ask why they are using Tidal in public.

I've been a dedicated Apple Music user for years but I'm looking for a change so I created a trial account and so far I've been loving it! Most music streaming services are similar so there really isn't anything revolutionary about another streaming service, it's all about preference. Tidal is a great service that provides a great app, but I have three problems with the app and web browser that are making the service difficult to fully enjoy. I don't like that it's not possible to save specific tracks of an album as ONE album, instead they save as "tracks" as a seperate category. I'm a neat freak so I like oragnization and that method of seperateing between tracks and albums is inconvenient. There should be a page for albums (you can save any tracks you want from the album) and there should be a tracks page where ALL the songs in your library are shown and there should be the option to play ALL the tracks on shuffle, or in order, etc. I also don't like that there isn't an option to organize albums by artist AND release date. The first and problem is far more important to me than the second one. I hope Tidal would make this change, if they do, they'll have a subscriber for life.

I absolutely love this streaming service! I have a very eclectic mind and listen to everything from Disney to Country to Pop to Rap, and most genres in between. One thing that I would love to see on here though is the option to search in your own playlist. I have almost 2,000 songs on my “Everyday” playlist, and it can be daunting to scroll and try to remember what number the song was. To make this easier as well, if there was a way to put artists/songs in alphabetical order from a cell phone on your individual playlist, that would be helpful. Even if a search option isn’t in the near future. I know that it is possible from a PC but I haven’t been able to on my phone. One feature that was added that I am extremely grateful for, was the “duplicate” feature. Some songs I hear on the radio, think to add them on my playlist, and before I wouldn’t know that it was already on there, but now I do! It was just in the mix of the 2,000 that I already have. All in all, I love the service/app and will (and do) recommend it to anyone that asks what I use.

I’m a mastering engineer so as you can my expectations were high for sound quality. I knew the HiFi $20/month would sound better than any other streaming service but I didn’t want to pay that much right now. So I decided to test the premium version (320kbps) against Spotify’s Extreme version (320kbps) and to my surprise Tidal was cleaner, more depth, and overall changed my experience. I am now sold to Tidal until the competition decides to raise their music quality to at least match Tidal’s premium. Tidal still has some work to do to match Spotify’s features like blocking explicit tracks and better integration with other systems like Alexa. And one of the most annoying things about Tidal for me was the constant push of hip hop in your face. I got over it once I started to play more what I liked. The home screen improved a lot after that. But if you’re serious about sound quality and still hesitating spending $20 a month don’t because their $10 version beats any other $10 service.
No streaming over cellular (AT&T)

Streaming music on cellular data hasn’t worked for over a month. All my friends and family with TIDAL have this same problem. I like TIDAL and have been trying to justify still paying for it, but at this point I’ve gotta switch to a different service. I reached out to customer support via email to ask how to fix this problem or how to get a refund, and it took 10 days before they responded and asked for my account info. I sent them back my info and a reiteration of the problem. It’s been 2 weeks with no response. I l want to support TIDAL, but they’re not allowing me to use the service they purport to provide (streaming music.) Since they’re not selling me a product, I suppose I’m just giving the company a monthly donation. It’s obvious that they know about the problem but haven’t figured out how to fix it. They’ve released several updates without addressing the problem that MANY users have brought to their attention. When I brought the problem to their attention via email they stopped responding. Again, I’d prefer to be a customer, not a donor. Unfortunately, as of right now, I’m a donor because TIDAL does not offer any service that can be used or consumed.

Been using Tidal for a while with no complaints, mostly would like to see some improvements to app like lyrics, but I’m patient and understand it might take a second to implement..Anyways for whatever reason since I updated a version or two ago, my music will not always play and sometimes it’ll cut off. Or, if I add music to the my Play Queue it will not continue playing always. This is kinda of frustrating as I know it’s not my connection because it used to always play and I have no other data issues besides Tidal randomly cutting off. Also I would love if the search could be improved sometimes you could put the EXACT word-for-word/letter-for-letter song and artist into it, and it still will not show up as some of the top results (Example: “Money” by Cardi B does not show up when searched like “Money Cardi B”, instead it shows up her other song “Money Bag” as well as a few more results from other artists before you can find it, so its a little inconvenient)

The service that tidal provides is top notch. After listening to my favorite music for about 10 mins made me realize how great of a product this is. And being a hifi subscriber I have to say it is well worth the money. But having tried many other streaming services I will have to say that the artist section on tidal needs a little work. On other platforms when you download music you can easily just go to the artist section and see all the artist that you listen to. On tidal currently you have to go to the artist profile, like it then the pop up in the artist section. I would just like to go to artist see all the artist I have either liked their profile or downloaded their music. And then I can see all the music by that artist that is in my library and select which album or tracks I want to hear. But overall I like how far tidal has grown in a short time and can’t wait to see where the platform goes next.

Love the app. Love the selection of music. Love the features like interviews, concerts, playlists and the ability to download content. Love the fact that this service shares more revenue with the artist. A few updates I would like to see in the future is the option to download singles/stand alone songs. The only way to download as of now is when the single is attached to an album. Also, it would be nice to close the app, reopen the app and still have my content in the same position it was in before it closed. If the app closes for any amount of time, I have to go in an find the album I was listening to all over again. Maybe Tidal can be installed directly to a device, like “apple music” is and that way Tidal can work as a mechanism of the phone instead of just a web based app. This would help with functionality a lot. Like I said, LOVE the app. I will continue my subscription. Just my two cents.
Great music stream app but one mistake is happening

Ever since the first couple of updates on the app there’s been a problem with the play queue you put on the right side . I put a bunch of music in the “play next” and “add to play queue”. I use the play queue a lot for new music or just a set of songs I want to use . But now what happens is once a song is finished being played the song completely disappears from the song list on the right . It never used to be like this in the past. The song used to stay in the playlist you made on the right side so I can go back and save the songs I added as playlist. If this doesn’t come back it’s going to be frustrating listening to music. If I add a buck a songs to the queue and I accidentally hit a whole album to play , all the songs I put in the queue completely disappears. In previous versions of the app the songs I put in the play queue would remain there. If there’s any way they fix that problem this app would be 5 stars no question.

I love just about everything about Tidal. The expansive music library, the exclusive content, the articles, the series, podcasts, videos, live shows...I can get every single thing that I need for my music fix from this app. It’s honestly unmatched. The ONLY complaint that I have is that the “Add to Play Queue” feature doesn’t work correctly when music is already playing. If I’m trying to add an album to my queue to play after the one that’s currently playing, it inserts all of the songs into the middle of the current album’s tracklist instead of starting it after the current album finishes. It drives me CRAZY. It makes the feature essentially the same as the “Play Next” option and it only works correctly when no music is playing. Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue. It’s the only thing keeping Tidal from being a perfect app!

I’m really enjoying the new interface of Tidal. It’s very sleek and modern. And I love the curated playlists. It’s very easy to be able to find new underground artists. However I do have some ideas that could make Tidal a more user friendly streaming service. There should be an option to organize a playlist alphabetically and also to be able to search for a song within a playlist. Another minor annoyance I have is having duplicate songs within a playlist. I wish it would say “This song is already added”. A minor issues I have are the shuffle is usually in the same order so I’m listening to the same songs in that order whenever I listen to that playlist. I also have that same issue with artist radio. Like I already said, these are minor issues, however very useful. Would just like to see them implemented since other streaming services have them as well.

The bugs that I've noticed recently is that when I add a song to my playlist accidentally and then I go to my playlist and try to delete it but then it won't let me! But when I go to another playlist I'm able to delete songs there but not my playlist! TIDAL please fix this issue because it can get really annoying quickly! The app itself is very well made and one thing you should add is to delete certain things on the 'Search' bar because deleting all my searched songs and artist is just dumb I try to remember them but I can't because I had to delete my whole search history because of one person! Over all the app is great and I'll continue to use it! Basically to sum things up... is that I can no longer delete songs from my playlist and I can no longer move songs from my playlist, if I try to move a song it will say " Playlist Must be updated first" witch I don't know how to 'Update' my playlist! I would also like to say for the new IOS 11 update I am able to screen record! So I have proof that this glitch is happening!
TIDAL has changed the way I listen and explore

TIDAL has been a revelation to me! The sound is terrific over my high-end audio system; and especially over headphones with my Firefly Red and beloved vintage Sennheiser 560iis. But best of all is that I can listen to something, then explore practically forever following threads of the performer, composer, instruments, etc. I listen mainly to classical and jazz, almost never to insanely crappy contemporary pop. I wish the track display for music being played worked better for classical - there's a lot to display in classical: Composer, piece, movement number, movement name, artist - none of the on-line services or iTunes seem to have the display adequately covered. The HD sound is usually as good as CDs played on my Naim CD player, which admittedly is getting pretty old by now. It's best over Firefly/headphones, is a little compromised by Apple AirPlay into the HiFi, haven't tried an outboard DAC yet. But overall it's good enough that I'm about ready to box up and put in storage the probably 1200 CDs that take up a huge amount of our small living space. I'm not very convinced of MQA yet. Some tracks sound really fine; but a lot of others sound "disembodied", a bit veiled, and there are others with what sound like smearing or digital artifacts. Maybe some of it has to do with the Firefly decoding?

I’ve been an Apple subscriber for several years, and I was ready to make the full switch if this app delivered on sound quality, even though I would be paying literally double what I’m paying for Apple. The verdict: I am an Audiophile, and while Tidal’s Master Quality material does sound good, it’s not actually that much better. Not only that, but most artists I listen to didn’t have the Master versions available, which resulted in most albums sounding identical to Apple. I tried it out on my home system and my incredible Bose system in my car, and was not blown away. Furthermore, the app is unbelievably laggy and glitchy. I kept having to restart the app, and even then it wouldn’t work properly most of the time. In the end I cancelled my HiFi subscription within the first hour. Bring the HiFi price down to meet Apple’s prices, and we’ll talk. Until then, Apple still has my business.

I have been with Tidal for a while now (over about 2 years now) and they have gone such a long way. One thing that, for me at least, is a big flaw is that “content already download will continue to playback in the original download quality.” This feature has been EATING UP my data when I’m streaming over my LIMITED cellular data from Verizon. This basically causes any song that has been downloaded (in my case, all mostly under HiFi quality) will also play in HiFi quality over a cellular connection (even though streaming over cellular has been set to just “Normal” quality). Once this is fixed, I would gladly give a full 5 star review! I have been running out of 8 GB’s worth of data mostly just from Tidal. That is fine over a WiFi connection or if you have unlimited, but I am not one of those folks. Please fix this ASAP

The music section for children is severely limited. The app isn't configured to work on the Apple Watch. The app often signs me out and my password doesn't work so I have to reset it over and over again. I may have no choice but to cancel soon if the changes are being updated. *Update* a new update for the app has been lingering. Every time I click on it it takes to the App Store and doesn't update 😠 idk if Apple is try to make it hard for Tidal but my frustrations are mounting. *UPDATE* The app won’t connect via Bluetooth to anything! Every other streaming app works but Tidal. I could be an Apple thing. In my car I can’t plug my phone up to charge & listen to music at the same time. It’s very frustrating. The bypass was Bluetooth. I’ve tried to not charge my phone to listen & that doesn’t work either. The only way I can listen or operate the app is if I listen to it without connecting to anything.

I have a few pet peeves with your app in the area of User Interface / User Xperience: 1) You changed the album art feature for playlists, and now only 4 album covers show up for each playlist. There used to be 6. The 4 covers haven’t gotten any bigger either, you just used up less screen space and made a “four-square”. That, in and of itself, wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that it’s messing up all of my old playlists that used to show 6 album covers. The square cuts the covers off and often shows nothing but a blank gray square. It’s ugly, buggy, and it makes it more difficult for the user to know what/who is on each playlist (by sight). 2) Why in God’s name do I have to scroll through my entire list of Artists and Albums in my Collection to find the one I want ??? This drives me NUTS !!! And it has been a problem since I’ve been a subscriber (a year or so). Why aren’t there any shortcuts in the form of letters, so I can at least get near what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, my workaround (which is Searching for what I want EVERY TIME) is quicker than starting at “A” and scrolling through my massive collection of music when I want a particular Artist, Album, or Song. 3) The Loudness Normalization feature leaves a lot to be desired. The first 2 items are no-brainers, and they should be fixed considering I have a $25/month high-end Hi-Fi subscription. SMH...

I’m a musician myself, so I chose Tidal after researching and finding it pays the artists the largest percentage of any streaming service. I love Tidal Rising and what it does for upcoming artists and they have some really great exclusive content. Other streaming services just offer artist playlists and things, but Tidal has some very cool exclusive video content that you won’t find competition for anywhere else. My only real complaints have to do with the app itself. As a lot of users have talked about, sorting isn’t easy and it’s frustrating that you have to type EXACTLY what you’re looking for into the search to have hope of finding it. Additionally, there are a lot of duplicate albums and albums assigned to incorrect artist pages because the artists have the same name. I would hope as they gain users, they’ll address these issues.

I signed up for the free trial to give it a go and loved the service itself yet I wasn’t planning on giving it a go just yet so I cancelled through my settings on my phone by going into subscriptions. I wasn’t aware of the fact that Tidal had stored my payment information and would charge me this month for a service I didn’t knowingly ask for. When I made their support team aware of this they basically said “It’s your own fault” and refused to refund me. I’m extremely disappointed with this, especially because it’s tied to Beyoncé who I love and respect. I truly wish their support becomes better for issues like this because its problematic to charge people without them knowing. Apparently from what I’ve read in other reviews other people have also claimed this problem. I am having to contact my BANK over several charges over the last few months I was finally made aware of. Tidal has taken about $40 of my money without me knowing. This is absolutely unacceptable all around.

Love the app been using it the past three years and never switched to a different music service. Literally ALL my music is in tidal because that’s how much I love it. Never had a problem until now. I can no longer add songs with the “Add to play queue” function which is super useful (you can add songs to play after the one currently playing and it’ll keep them in there). I noticed the feature is gone and now you can only play consecutive songs if they’re in a playlist. This suuuucks because I really relied on the play queue it’s so easy to use and organize and it keeps the songs in whatever order they were played in!!!! AND you can even rearrange them and it’ll keep them in the order you place them!!!! Please fix!!!! Keep the app amazing!!!!

A lot of folks ask how something this new can compete. Here's how 1. Way more music than Apple Music. All of jays albums first of all, in my mind by Pharrell is up, a lot of underground rappers too. Even if you do not like rap recognize they pay more to each artist and likely have more of you're style regardless. 2. They offer a 90 day free trial. This lets you get a feel of the app. I think I may switch from Apple and I'm 3 weeks in. 3. If you're seriously into music then consider their lossless cd quality streaming for 20 a month. That's right they have two different streaming qualities. Don't confuse it the 9 dollar a month is just as good if not better than Apple. However the 20 a month may be good for musical mentors and other musicians. Nice addition.
Streaming Service for hip hop

I was previously an apple music user. I like the dark theme, but the graphic design is just not as elegant as the ui/look of apple music. Sometimes playing music is glitchy and songs restart. Finding new music is not very intuitive and when you first download the app it feels like the app is strictly a rap music app. The search algorithm is not good. I wish I could see the lyrics to songs. I think the credits feature is cool and the songs that keep playing that are related to the song you listened too is good. I wish it had more playlists based on things other than “moods” —> perhaps based on time periods (R&B hit of 2000s). Alternative is not listed as a genre, which I kind of understand, yet hate. The app icon does not look like it’s on the same page as the current icons for ios, which makes it appear slightly unprofessional. General use just feels clunky and discombobulating. In conclusion, you can listen to music.
Bug?

I’m having issues when playing Hi-Fi. When connected via Bluetooth or any other way to any system it won’t play the next track, or it will repeat the same track despite having the repeat off. I’ve tried it on my celular network and on WiFi, downloaded or streaming and it just won’t play. It is extremely annoying because when it does play the music quality is outstanding. This issue seams to go away when I switch to regular quality. Note that this isn’t that it’s loading the next track because the tidal logo doesn’t show on the album cover and it just won’t play (I’m very patient lol) only happens when connected via Bluetooth, USB or lightning to aux. Paying for Hi-Fi quality would expect to be able to listen to my music. Hopefully this can get fixed before my next payment otherwise I see no reason to pay for something I can’t use. Yes my music systems are capable of playing hi-fi.

Curated playlists for holidays, seasons, genres, and artists - and that doesn’t say it all becouse it doesn’t explain how clever the playlists are - for thanksgiving there were several playlists; including slow songs for family and a “turkey turn it up” with more vibrant songs to get you ready for all the football. Any song you can think of is there, all the popular videos including the old ones and many videos that aren’t so popular. It has the usual quality like apple and the others but it also has an option for lostless audio. The interface is also a pleasure to use. You get the feeling that your using a high end product that someone cared greatly about when they created it.

Hands down this is the best streaming service. Quality wise the other services don’t even compare. I love the app layout and I love the new “mixes” feature. Coming from Apple Music to tidal was a big jump as far as quality goes. I pay for tidal hifi and my daily music experience has been upgraded completely it’s no way I could ever go back. I hope tidal continues to make strides to becoming the most used streaming service. Now I rarely have a complaint but my only wish is that they would add a “shuffle all” button. Sometimes I like to listen to all the music in my library not just a specific artist/album and I don’t always wanna have to make a playlist. This would be a great feature to add just a suggestion :)

I am extremely disappointed and not happy with how this Lil Wayne concert was handled from a real subscriber. I voted on Atlanta to be picked for the concert and I was unable to attend. Furthermore, I rsvp’d to the concert and was not even given a new location to pick up what I rsvp’d for. Instead I was met with an short email with location and time doors. So I got through the trouble of standing in line at 6pm. All of that to get up to the line around 7:30 and discover you need a wristband and lanyard. It was never mentioned in the email what time they were handed out nor had I had any other further communication with Tidal about where to pick up tickets. I am shocked at the incompetency of the team that coordinated this event as it was unorganized. Which says a lot about the company in general. As a premium subscriber I know My time is valuable and I’d like to receive a one year free subscription to Tidal for free to right this wrong. Without it I’m not sure I can support an app that wastes my time and money.

I am pretty satisfied with what it offers The most i am liking about the tidal is its interface , thats kinky blacky interface is just mesmerizing along with optimized huge library. Secondly, its quality. Almost all songs here are available in HIFI . Rather then volume factor , it emphasizes on crisp and clarity and that impress me for the second time Recently , it introduced MASTER on mobile devices as well That makes way easier to listen quality music offline and anywhere instead of messing with laptop for MASTER playback . Got another point there The only reason i am abit unhappy/disappointed is that .... tidal is offering limited Master quality albums . Even tho the albums are available in HI-RES on other music service, tidal is not doing the master job there . Being a tidal user from years , It seriously hurts not getting that specific album of my favorite artist on master quality which other services are offering ridiculously. I have like send around 100 emails requesting some albums in MASTER but idk what goes wrong there , i just keep getting the Request form which i have filled 100s of time as well . And sadly , i need to subscribe two music service for the pleasure of HI RES audio !

No buffering no ads no interruptions and endless music from any genre. On vacation, over seas with poor WiFi and everything I downloaded plays crystal clear through my portable JBL speaker. Turning a quiet pool area into a party scene and everybody loving it especially the older white people from different parts of the world. I can’t afford another bill but I’d spend my last to make sure my subscription is valid!!! Tidal is valid!!! Plus, I’m from the Stuy and a die hard J fan from day one so I’m probably subconsciously impartial. I work two jobs and I have 6 kids, therefore my music is a must at any given time! I seriously love tidal. I know there are some kinks that some would like worked out, but for me its the only music streaming app that I have stuck with. I have dropped all of the other apps after the free period wears off except this one. I think its partly do to the amount of exclusive material from artists I want to hear. And I love the selection of music. My one negative would be the search engine. I don't know what its like with other music spots, but if I don't spell something perfectly then I cant find what I want. I would prefer it was more like google. Give me a ballpark. Example: Im looking for “P!NK” but I spell it “PINK”. Then I may have a difficult time finding her music. Thats not cool but I would still give a 4.5 star if that was an option.

This is a great streaming service. I’m able to find tons of music that I love from all genres and different periods of time. This is the best streaming service out and the design/layout of the app is perfect. I love the look. I would like to see Tidal allow you to play music from multiple devices while using the same account at the same time. My fiancé and I got to the gym together and we both love using Tidal while we workout but only one of us can use it at a time so of course I let her win that one. But it’ll be great to be able to use it at the same time. Thanks to everyone at Tidal for your efforts to maintain and improve the quality of the app and service. I love this streaming service. Keep up the great work!
Best Streaming Service Available

I’m a music engineering and producing student, and with TIDAL HiFi, you are listening to music at the frequency rate of CD (for those that don’t know, mp3 is the lowest fidelity of listening to music, so the sound quality of HiFi is impeccably better and more dynamic - the highs are higher and lows are lower, deeper bass). On the computer, there are also a handful of albums available in the master format with TIDAL Masters, and this is better than vinyl quality. I love being able to separate my albums from my tracks, too. While I wish it sorted my music by genre and also I didn’t have to add a playlist to have my tracks downloaded, it’s worth the hassle. If you care about audio quality, there really is no other way to go.

Listen, i rarely, if ever write a review. Tidal asked me to rate so i gave it 5 stars because i love this app. Periodt! Im not sure if My Mix was ever there before (it may have been further down on the front page) but anyway its at the top now! I hated apple music suggestion playlist. They were such trash. Tidal not only categorizes it bu artist i listen to in my own but they don't mix ratchet and old school. They also don't add songs i have on my playlist already so it gives me an opportunity to listen to alternative songs by artist i love and potentially add to my personal playlist! I also love that Tidal gives me 3 My Mix options so that one can be for example r&b, another can be rap and another can be old school or soulful music. Great job TIDAL!
Great service with a few suggestions

I love this streaming platform for the fact that it provides Edited versions of songs/albums readily available. One issue I ran into was the music stopping anytime I opened the camera for my phone. This was in the camera app or in messages when trying to take a picture. I feel the music shouldn’t stop when this happens. Another thing are the songs starting over after some time away from the app. This would help me to give this app 5 stars. Something else that’s a suggestion is having a kid friendly option for families? It would be tough, but finding a way to have edited versions of songs have its own section would be dope so we wouldn’t have to weed out edited and explicit songs. Just a thought, though.
Unable To Stream Music

For the past 4 Days I have been unable to play any of my Tidal music unless I am on my WiFi..it refuses to play anything through my cellular data.!!! I never had this problem before, until the last update.!!! Now, unless I am on a WiFi service , this little pink bar will pop up telling me that it is “unable to get audio stream”.!! I’ve never had this issue before. I have submitted 3 help request tickets and have yet to get a response or any type of feedback. I would have rated this app 5 stars, cause I really enjoyed it when I was able to use it.!! Enjoyed it so much that I upgraded to the family plan. However now, I’m being billed for an app that I can’t even use. Does anybody have some suggestions on what I can do.?!!?! I’m not having any of these problems with my Apple Music streaming, so it’s definitely not my phone or my phone services.!!!!! I just want to be able to enjoy my Tidal again :-(

I usually don't write a lot of reviews for apps, but I wanted to for this one because it's so great! I've had other streaming services, but when "Lemonade" came out, I couldn't help but switch over. It was definitely worth it though as I've stayed this long. Tidal is just so amazing! They offer tons of exclusives in terms of shows & music (like I said, Beyoncé's "Lemonade" and then later on Jay-Z's "4:44" plus others), a wide variety of great playlists, music & podcasts and introduce new artists I probably wouldn't know otherwise. Music releases are still on time like other streaming services and it just feels very personalized. The student discount is wonderful and I can't imagine subscribing to another streaming service!

I love and support this streaming platform! The reason I did not give it a five star is due to the much needed work to the music similarities compiling for the “Tracking Radio” or the “Mood” option. The music of choice should be well matched by tempo, melodies, context etc. To often tracks that are high tempo and don’t match in lyrical content may find itself in a list of songs that is its exact contrast to the mood list or the primary track chosen for “track Radio.” For example: during Christmas I picked Chris Brown “This Christmas” as the Track Radio. As soon as the track finished a list of current rap songs played without another Christmas song to match the original chosen songs mood. Those options should run as if a Dj with great record and crowd knowledge, but them together. Outside of that the app is phenomenal.

So I had never thought out using Tidal because I did not know what it was. Until I recently decided to look into it. When I learned about HIFI Quality, I knew this app was for me. Since I’m an Audiophile, I enjoy the quality of music and I am able to notice the differences. App runs great but I do have comment on minor issues. When I connect it to my car through bluetooth, the shuffle and reply button rapidly unselect and select itself. At times it stops unexpectedly, but other times it does it continuously. Spotify’s crossfade into other songs was the best one I’ve seen. Wish the same could be said about the one for Tidal. Instead of just starting the song immediately, fade in the next song just the same way the last song is fading out.

I have been using Tidal since it was released. I have only had minor problems with it like small bugs that are fixed rather quickly with updates. However, for the last week, 90% of the songs I try to stream will not play. A small pink message at the bottom of the screen appears and says “unable to get audio stream.” I contacted tidal support by submitting a request. I have received two pre canned e-mails stating they will get back to me as soon as they can. The e-mail also asks me to go to their support page to see if I can fix the problem myself. The support page only prompts me to submit a support ticket. I’ll be happy to change my rating of this app if support gets back to me promptly but, at this point there will be no five star rating by any means. I’m paying for your service and to have my issue be brushed off is ridiculous. I’m going to give it one more day and then I’m changing streaming services.

Soo I love the app. I don’t use any other music streaming source period. However with recent updates, their are minor things that I would like for you guys to go back to. My number 1 is my play queue! I can select several albums to play and once it plays it deletes off of my play queue. I can’t go back to listen to it again or listen to it later. That was one of my favorite things, being able to have started a playlist in the play queue and then going back to it later, or clearing it when I wanted to. Even when I select the add to queue it does the same thing and deletes the track after it is played. I have know idea what you guys did to the algorithm but please change it back. Even with this minor issue I still ride for Tidal. Great App!
Duplication Glitch with Large Playlists

I love my Tidal HiFi subscription and my experience with the app overall. However, when downloading large playlists for offline use in the app (24 hours or more), random songs duplicate and repeat within the playlist and play queue. As a result, the same 30 songs will repeat in a play queue even though it should be made up of 556 songs or so, sometimes even playing the same song three times in a row. The playlist will still show 556 songs total in the information section but when scrolling through the playlist to the final song of the playlist (because of songs being tripled and quadrupled) the numbering ends up being 1430 or sometimes more. Restarting the app does not fix the problem. Only uninstalling the app and reinstalling it temporarily fixes the problem until songs are downloaded for use in offline mode. As someone who lives in an area with poor cellular service, offline mode is a necessity. Although I love Tidal HiFi and think it is the best music streaming service available, I am thinking about canceling my membership from the sheer frustration of the app repeatedly glitching and playing the same 30 songs on repeat in a 556 song playlist. I hope this problem will be addressed soon and remedied.
Great and beautiful app

I really like the Tidal app, how it’s setup and all the functions it gives are great. Also like the fact that almost all songs are available, more songs than other regular music streaming apps. And with the student discount it’s really affordable. There is only one thing that I don’t like; the last update gave the option to search in My Collection Tracks, Albums and Artists etc. witch is really handy! It would be really great if the search function also is available in my own playlists. That way I can start a playlist with exactly the right song, without having to search and scroll through the whole list. Would be an great addition.
Great sound quality...but that’s about it.

The sound quality is the best of all streaming services. Well that’s where the good of it ends however. Whatever algorithm is being used to determine a track’s “radio” needs to be worked on. Regardless of what track I pick to start a radio station from, the resulting tracks always have a bias toward hip-hop and R&B and way off with what should be played. And there is still no “global” explicit language filter setting like other services. I played a clean innocent song for my young son and then started a station from it only to have several songs with explicit language play several songs into the station. I subscribed because I got an offer to renew for 1.99/mo hoping these issues would have been fixed since last time I had the service...but they are not. I will not be renewing after my offer expires.
Newest Music at my finger tips!

I enjoy the ease of having new music at my finger tips and to be able to download songs right to my phone! This is very important especially on plane rides. I hate risking a boring ride over slow internet. I also love the exclusivity of new releases. I’ll admit I only discovered and locked in to Tidal because of Beyoncé’s Lemonade Album being released only on Tidal for a while. I think it’s great to see Blacks thriving in free enterprise! I love to support my own, always. I used to buy my songs through iTunes and spend tons of money on less. Paying a monthly subscription to all of this music is bomb! This app keeps getting better and better. Great job to all the stakeholders!

It is a great product and in my opinion worth the price. The interface takes some getting used to. Many people complain that the shuffle does not work very well, however I've come to learn that the shuffle shuffled EVERYTHING BELOW the song you start the playlist with. This is actually quite nice when you don't feel like listening to a particular set of songs and just want to shuffle between a select few in the same playlist. Just click and drag. There is the occasional bug like the app closing when navigating with a poor connection or poor signal. Otherwise, the combination of music videos, documentaries, even full on short films in addition to the songs is well worth the price of 9.99 a month!
Would rather use Pandora, the free app that actually works

The app will only work with wifi. After reading the reviews it appears that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. I've sent two emails and the only response I've received so far is "my request have been combined". It seems that Tidal doesn't care that paying customers are having trouble with their app. Thanks for saving me $28 per month, subscription canceled......... As a result of this review, I received a support message stating that if I provided my ticket number they would assist me. If you really wanted to help, you would responded to the two emails I sent about the issue. I no longer need help. Subscription canceled, app deleted, and I signed up to Apple music for less than half the cost of Tidal...... Tidal keep up the crappy customer service, it'll help your customers become someone else's customer at a reduced cost to the consumer.

Has a majority of the music i also have on apple and then some. I prefer to use Tidal whenever possible. I love the way tidal looks and it is easy to use mostly. My issue with tidal is that sometimes music doesn’t load/play at all. The song will “play” but there’s no audio, it’s just progressing through the song. Sometimes if i skip a song it will allow that song to play. But other times i have to close the app all together to play the song that i want to. I support tidal, there are some technical issues that are the main reason why i have to play my music on other apps. Otherwise I’d choose tidal 10/10. Also please consider implementing a student discount similar to Apple Music.
Glitching

I have had Tidal for nearly a year and have been pretty satisfied with the service. The past month has been difficult though because the music randomly stops playing while listening as well as a ticking noise that all of a sudden starts causing me to have to delete the window to refresh the app and start the song all over again. I don’t want to cancel my subscription but with there being so many other music streaming services not having these annoying issues, I may be forced to do so soon. I’m willing to allow an update to happen to fix these bugs but it needs to be soon. I have a few road trips coming up this summer and would hate to not be able to stream music to get me through the long driving hours lol.
