Missing Chinese

I have an iPhone 11 and want to use this app with the Chinese Language YUE feature but it is not an option. I tried updating iOS and uninstalling + re-installing the app and it still doesn't show up. Is the app updated for iPhone 11? Really need the Chinese YUE please.
needs haptic feedback
by wizll- on 2019/11/18 08:43
things to make this keyboard better that were in word flow: arc'ed one hand mode and way better shaping algorithms, learning and predictions by far update 8/23/2017: the more I use swiftkey the more I miss word flow. the shaping algorithm and prediction in word flow is miles better... update 11/2019: this keyboard needs the android features. put haptic feedback at least on all the keys instead of only the emoji key already.
Best on the Market!
by MMDA3 on 2019/11/18 01:19
Ok so before iOS came out with this I was like wow, how cool would it be to just swipe, well then I found SwiftKey. At first It took a couple days to get used too but after a couple days I was typing faster, better, and I had a super cool background while I did it. (Something apple fails to have) Typed using SwiftKey
Two steps forward, two steps back.
by DennySF415 on 2019/11/18 00:02
Absolutely HATE where the voice to text mic button is now. I've hit this a bazillion times when trying to hit the emoji button. Incredibly frustrating!!! This definitely needs to be fixed! All in all, pretty good but words still come out all jumbled and I have to constantly go back and delete words and start all over. This is probably the best keyboard for the iPhone, but I'm always left scratching my head when some words come out a jumbled mess. Always room for improvement. And lately it keeps non-defaulting from the native Apple keyboard which drives me batty.
Move the microphone icon!
by Dreamtalker90 on 2019/11/17 18:55
I've basically list my ability to use emojis because someone decided it would fantastic UX to plop a microphone icon next to the emoji one and shrink the two. Can you please correct this?
Stores a log of your every keystroke
by wants a hooker on 2019/11/16 21:08
This app stores in their servers a log of every key you ever typed while using the app. There is no need for this app to behave that way. They are storing and selling your information. Take back your privacy and uninstall this keyboard or for that matter any third party keyboard. Use the default apple keyboard which does not key log your every stroke.
Move the microphone button please!
by WaffleSteak on 2019/11/16 19:19
This was an amazing keyboard. But the microphone right next to the emoji button is the stupidest decision made. Just reverse that and its back to 5 stars.

Remove Microphone Button
by shonhoss on 2019/11/15 00:57
There's already a Siri speech to text option whether or not you use this app (which works much better than Microsoft's speech-to-text). There is no need for a Microsoft speech-to-text option. I always end up hitting it instead of the emoji button. Please remove it. Until then, I will use the default keyboard.

Great keyboard with small issues
by TechGuy_656 on 2019/11/14 13:21
I have been using this keyboard on my iPhone since it became available and have used it in the past on Android almost since the original launch. In all the years I have come to love the layout, appreciate and rely on the suggestions to spell check and also increase my typing speed. It was so good it appears Apple tried to integrate aost all of SwiftKeys features into their own keyboard. Stealing isn't nice Apple! 😁 However, there is always room for improvement and these items keep me from giving this 5 stars. - When I need to type some things that require a double space the inability to quickly switch off double space for periods can be a real pain. - Typing out URLS for websites is almost impossible on this keyboard which can be a real problem when you work in IT. Also due to the way it spaces automatically after a "." Had a difficult time typing that period. 😩 - Working in Google Sheets has been impossible for over a year now. If you enter a blank cell in a sheet I only get the option for numbers with no ability to switch to entering text. But, I will keep using it for 90% of the time. And hope that these small issues can be resolved in the future.

Not the same functionality as with android
by prefer androidos on 2019/11/13 17:27

Keyboard mistakes often.
by d2drummer on 2019/11/13 11:51

by FlipReality on 2019/11/12 23:46
I love Swift key and it's one of my fave third party keyboard. But with the new version, I keep tapping the speech button since it's so close to the spacebar and it constantly redirects me since I haven't given it mic permissions. It's such a bad user experience. Please reposition this button!

Worse than android version
by JJ1519 on 2019/11/12 20:44
Significantly worse than the android version. Android has the symbol keys easily accessible by long pressing the key. Android also always adds a space after every period. You can also arrange the number keypad on Android.

Wish it were more customizable
by Triix25 on 2019/11/12 13:38
For the iPhone, I wish you could change the letter colors and customize the key pop up colors like you can using this app on the Samsung Galaxy. The swype left on the period to get an exclamation mark also doesn't work well on the iPhone. Lastly, with my Samsung with extended use it gave great predictions for phrases and words I used often - doesn't do predictions at all for my commonly used words and phrases on my iPhone. Still better to me than the native keyboard and Gboard though because I use the clipboard a lot, but overall disappointing.
Great keyboard
by pattyfinn🐬 on 2019/11/12 11:44
I have used it for years. I love this keyboard. I like the themes and the custom options available. I just switched from android to Apple and the clipboard and keyboard shortcuts I made have not follow me when I logged in on the new device. That’s disappointing but not enough to make me choose the stock keyboard over swift key

Added Mic For Dictation. Made a Wonderful product even GREATER!
by Dagirlgenuis on 2019/11/11 16:08
I've used SwiftKey for years on both Android and now the iOS platform. The only thing that was missing was a microphone for voice dictation. You recently added it and I just wanted to thank you for this. This made a few things clear. Firstly, you actually listened to what your customers wanted and even more importantly, took action to make it happen. The addition of the microphone to iOS made a wonderful product even greater. I LOVE it! Would highly recommend!
Moving the emoji button was a mistake.
by Tobiasxva on 2019/11/11 14:07
Happy user for actual years here - since prior to Swype even being publicly released. Moving the emoji button in the latest update to make way for a Microsoft voice recognition button has greatly decreased the amount of which I use Swift Key. The button seems to have been intentionally placed in a spot that would cause users to accidentally click and allow Microsoft to collect voice data on the user. The default IOS screen already has a voice to text button visible any time the keyboard is open. 1 star until that's fixed or the option to remove the button is added.
Needs more options!
by Matinsrd on 2019/11/11 13:11
Long press on English keyboard doesn't give the option to use symbols. Even numbers don't have the long press option. Switching to numbers and to symbols and switch back all the time is frustrating. Can't believe an option as simple as that is not there. Also Seeking through the text is a pain too, please add the ability to use the space bar for seeking.

The new microphone recorder icon
by Jack The Future on 2019/11/11 07:07
Hi, I've been using SwiftKey for years now, I use it on my iPhone because it's simple, diverse and practical. But with the last update, the microphone icon is such annoying, basically cause it's right next to the Emoji's icon, I keep pressing the Mic icon instead instead of tge Emoji one cus it's too close to it, and when I press it, it opens another page at setting and i need to Close it each time, thus it's pretty annoying. I hope you can fix this issue. Regards, your loyal big thumb user :)
No way to move cursor massively cripples this keyboard.
by a person who likes apple on 2019/11/11 04:52
Gboard, Grammarly, and even iOS default keyboard are quickly leaving you guys in the dust. Almost every other major 1st and 3rd party keyboard allows one to accurately move the cursor in some form or fashion. The fact this keyboard has been around for this long, is this popular, and still has no way to do so is incredibly confusing. Not being able to move the cursor makes the keyboard feel borderline unusable vs nearly any other option. On a side note haptic feedback is another nice feature many 3rd party keyboards have had for a while that'd be a nice addition here. On another side note the default themes are rather low contrast with smaller looking keys, Im not sure why there isn't more than a single theme option that resembles a normal keyboard without some odd pattern or distracting moving element.
New feature?
by Freyjastear on 2019/11/11 01:53
Since some recent update, a mic has been added next to the emotji key. Please get rid of this. There is no way to opt it to turn off.
Accidental mic clicks
by Mikt25 on 2019/11/10 21:24
Please move the mic button to the other side, or allow the user to disable it. I've had many times where I accidentally clicked on it over the emoji button having keyboard drag me to the SwiftKey app unwillingly.

Very helpful
by Skittlfram on 2019/11/10 20:32
My friends in Slovakia use SwiftKey and suggested it I try it when I learn Slovak, their language. SwiftKey has turned out to be extremely helpful as it provides the letter variations (ň, ý, ď, ê and many more) that aren't always available in other keyboards and are needed for this language. Plus the autocorrect is actually helpful for this language and I'm sure many others.

by Chirag232 on 2019/11/10 19:35
I'm so happy Microsoft decided to actually implement voice dictation with this product. I was waiting for an alternative to Siri as it does not understand quite a bit of what I say and this surely is a nice feature to have.
Good, but Microsoft's own Flow keyboard was better
by Modern Dough on 2019/11/10 18:39
Microsoft's Flow keyboard from Windows Phone was WAY better in predicting text than this SwiftKey keyboard. I find myself correcting basic words like "different" over and over again, yet it doesn't wrote seem to learn. Now how our detected quite as wrote and it as our on this line.
Almost, but not quite, pointless
by stormbirdd on 2019/11/10 17:18
When I was issued an iPad from work, I immediately dropped SwiftKey on it, praising the gods of clever design that I wouldn’t have to put up with the iOS keyboard’s borderline-obstructive shenanigans anymore. Fickle deities. This version of SwiftKey, unlike its Android cousin, has no arrow keys, the very reason I wanted it. No separate number bar either. All it offers is privacy-smashing, send-every-character-you-type-including-SS#-and-credit-card-numbers-to-SwiftKey in an effort to predict my typing behavior, an ability I have read here and elsewhere that it loses every couple of months anyway, so you are trading away your security and peace of mind for essentially nothing. I am giving it two stars because the keyboard does work - it isn’t broken - but there is just no reason to bother downloading it.
Prefect!!
by Kiki-13! on 2019/11/10 16:30
I love this keyboard! It really helped me many times I didn’t have the ability to type with my thumbs so great!! And I love the themes they have and allow you to make as well!
Awful now
by Telex29 on 2019/11/10 16:27
So after each update it gets worse. Constantly crashes to make iOS default and holding space key doesn’t work worth 💩 poo and the new mic button by emoji ruined this for me. I cannot hit emoji without hitting the mic now. Supper annoying. I’m glad iOS can swipe now bye to this app after using it since it first came out

My SwiftKey Review October 2, 2018 I have used SwiftKey for quite a while. I am probably the biggest fan, if not the only serious fan of SwiftKey. I used the app when I had Android and it was a dream come true! I had been searching and searching for the longest for a keyboard app that had any and all, or at the very least, most of what I could want in a keyboard app. When I came across SwiftKey and tried it out, I fell in love! 😍 I told my mom and everyone that would listen to get this app. This was THE keyboard app for Android. When I was blessed to have apple products, I was a bit disappointed, actually a lot disappointed. I was disappointed because some of the features that made SwiftKey stand out against any and all keyboards (and I have tried them all) were not available on my iPhone and my iPad. SwiftKey is still my keyboard app, even without the needed features, but I would love to have those features on my apple devices. The features that were on my Android devices and that are not on my Apple devices, which I am speaking of are the following: Number row key at top of keyboard (so that I won't have to tap to switch to numbers) Microphone Keyboard size These are some of the features. I cannot think of others. The SwiftKey settings on Android devices had a slew of options in settings, I mean a galore of settings! But on my Apple devices, the settings are so basic! SwiftKey still stands number one in my book, especially with predictions! But as I mentioned before, I would love the other features I had on Android. 😕 I am a Techie, so I do understand that the coding is different. But I hope SwiftKey work on making all the features on Android devices available on Apple devices. 🙂 Again, I still love SwiftKey! ❤️ Update!!!!! May 20, 2019 Number row key and a new cut and paste feature! Thank you, SwiftKey! But I'm still waiting for more features before give that last star. Sorry! But I still love you! 😍 Update!!!!! November 9, 2019 When did the microphone get on here?!? I am so excited! I just so happen to notice it! I've tried it out a little and so far, it works like Apple's voice to text. Now I don't have to switch between keyboards, which is really annoying. I am giving you FIVE STARS! Thank you, SwiftKey for working hard to bring us awesome features with this awesome keyboard! I can't wait to see what's next! 😁 Your cut and paste feature has been acting quirky, please fix. I love SwiftKey! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I love the galaxy and that is exactly what I am looking at whenever I am texting anybody. I can also slide my finger around and still have all of the words typed correctly and it is my faster! Thank you SWIFTKEY!!!😀 😀
Superior keyboard in every way but one
by Shelldass on 2019/11/09 03:11
If you speak more than one language, this is the keyboard you want. With support for different ways of typing and multiple languages without having to switch (learn form that Apple). Only thing that's a severe downgrade from Apple's keyboard is the inability to move your cursor. There's no long press on the space bar, or 3D touch. Swiftkey says it's to switch between languages, but if you're only using two languages you don't need to switch anyway, so feels a bit weird. Also they recently added voice support which takes up keyboard space, so I'd wager having a cursor is way better than support for three languages or more.

This will give me out of my mind...

I like Swift Key. Works better for you than Godard.. But even though I have autocorrect off, it STILL autocorrects. Please tell me "how do I just get what I type"? BTW Godard is an autocorrect thats uncorrected. Revised review: I still spend a lot of time correcting the auto correct, replacing words chosen for me that I don't choose, and have never used.

Dictation needs improvement and UI change
by Ctdemonet on 2019/11/08 15:44
The Microsoft dictation implementation is nice but needs work for the UI. The buttons are too cluttered and I hit the microphone button when I try to hit the emoji button too often. Also the screen transition into the dictation service needs to be smoother or implemented better.

PLEASE REMOVE TALK TO TEXT BUTTON
by Killersword1111 on 2019/11/08 15:16
I've loved this app for years, but please remove the stupid talk to text button. It's so small and located directly next to the emoji button, making it extremely difficult to get to the emoji keyboard. Even just make an option to have it there or not. A large majority of people do not use talk to text from the keyboard! They'll just use Siri or carplay.
Need option to remove voice type and period
by leoncitoooooooo on 2019/11/08 14:48
Awesome keyboard, but I keep pressing that annoying new voice type feature left to the space bar and also keep accidently pressing the period to the right of the space bar. Will rateb5 stars once I can turn both of those keys off
Random Microsoft button next to emoji button
by alexevans on 2019/11/08 13:22
New update is awful. You guys are ruining this app. We can't even remove that random microphone button by Microsoft that they just added next to emoji button. Keep hitting it by accident and I have no interest in giving Microsoft my speech data. Uninstalling and I know a few avid users who are getting rid of the app too.
Functionality
by Ramsey Jr on 2019/11/08 12:35
I love this keyboard and all the options it gives, but I'm guessing the functionality is possibly different across different platforms. My phone is an Android, but I also use an ipod (iOS). The options for the way the numbers and rows are setup are severely limited on here (iOS) than the Android. Hopefully there are some improvements in the near future to bring the functionality closer together across operating systems.
Privacy & Swiping
by mrbonine on 2019/11/08 12:30
This product worked nearly a well as an integrated swipe feature (part of the default keyboard) It often fails within apps (Tumblr, for example) . Attempting to fix that, read the warning about full access having access to every character typed. There was no explanation at SwiftKey/MS and the need for key-logging ID back to a particular phone or person is not required, in fact it should be illegal.
Love SwiftKey!
by Planckster on 2019/11/08 12:22
I've been searching a long time for a quality iPhone keyboard replacement. SwiftKey is it. Now I have the number row above the letters, where it should be. The screen is not overwhelmed by juvenile emojis (unless you select that option). A suggestions that would be perfect for me: Option to select which characters appear when you press and hold the period. I rarely have a need for "#" or "@" but I frequently use ":" and ";". Other than that, SwiftKey has been a godsend. Jerry

Microphone is too close to emoji
by 99darwin on 2019/11/08 04:58
I have no interest in sending my voice data to a third party (Microsoft) and the positioning of the mic button is dangerously close to the emoji. Makes for an annoying UX but also worries me when it comes to privacy.
Great but missing one thing...
by Hashtag Team Tay-Tay on 2019/11/08 04:57
I love using SwiftKey on Android and I kind of love it on ios but it's missing one thing for me and that is haptic feedback while typing. Bring that to ios and it will be perfect! Gboard has it but I'm not as much a fan as I am of SwiftKey.
New update horrible!! Microsoft took over microphone
by steeve725 on 2019/11/08 04:25
After new update, Microsoft took over the microphone and when you press the microphone Microsoft pops up and then goes back. It's extremely annoying. I liked the other swiftkey keyboard better before Microsoft took it over. Looks like I'll be looking for a new keyboard after using swiftkey for a few years.
Go back to combing typing & swiping for the same word.
by Anchorman428 on 2018/09/01 18:22
I've been a devoted SwiftKey user for years. I even purchased themes to keep you going. I primarily love SwiftKey because I love to swipe without having to lift my finger up. However it seems like SwiftKey changed the way that swiping works and it takes away some of what made SwiftKey better than Gboard. You see, I used to be able to enter a word by manually typing the first two letters of the word and then finished spelling the word by swiping the remaining letters. As long as I didn't hit the spacebar then it knew that I was still working on the same word. This made word prediction significantly more accurate. However, your new method removes the ability to start a word by typing and finish it by swiping. Instead, if I lift my finger up, it automatically considers that a new word. The end result is that I end up typing most words (to get the proper ending) instead of swiping. And that defeats the purpose of swiping all together. Please strongly consider going back to the old way of swiping.
Not pleased
by enter my review on 2018/04/20 19:31
I have had this app just about a year now. Having the ability to swipe and not chicken peck on a cellphone to send text and email is huge, but some basic features on this app are inconsistent and worse than earlier versions or similar apps (hard to know switching from Droid to Apple). For instance, as others have mentioned, it completely forgets previous frequently used words not even suggesting them, instead inputs words I have never used or selected. Where do they come from? I have never heard or seen anyone use this crazy/foreign/ dated language. It does not appear to be improving with usage, as I thought was implied. And to the above point, I use similar language frequently and I don't know why I often have to repeatedly correct it from crazy words I never use. Why isn't it improving? Next, when I begin typing a word or compete a word and it offers a suggestion and I choose that word from the suggestion box it does not input it but leaves the few letters I typed and enters a space after the incomplete word, or just enters a space after the wrong word. I have to go back and select the word again or completely type the word myself. What's the use in suggestions then? I am growing increasingly frustrated with this app and beginning to question if chicken pecking might be faster and more hassle-free.
I love this app buuuutttttt........
by Cathey98 on 2017/11/18 01:40
I love SwiftKey, and have had it for years now, buuuutttttt... Every now and then it seems like it forgets all words lol. For instance I will just type and show you the ridiculous predictions it makes... Seeley is they beat ladybirds applications I have asked to be ony phone fit this looks (years) Brevard it is bets than any other keyboards I have ever been able Fri use that actually does what I need it to do. Thus is turning out to be a bad example of the ridiculous words of will change my round into.... Sooooo, what I just typed (or tried to) is "SwiftKey is the best keyboard application I have allowed to be on my phone for this long (years) because it is better than any other keyboards I have ever been able to use that actually does what I need it to do. This is turning out to be a bad example of the ridiculous words it will change my words into"... You get the point. Just wonder why it seems to forget my words at random times. Makes typing longer and more difficult when I have to re-type every word over and over and OVER AGAIN. But other than those random points where it re-learns my style or regular English (lol), I do love this app.
Bummer keyboard
by sizzlin'soap on 2018/10/31 14:13
I had a keyboard that swyped better than this one until it continuously froze. It guessed my words accurately and didn't change my typed words after a second time. This app is a let down, the amount of times I have to retype a word because it wants to supply a different word is ridiculous. I've had this keyboard for a few months because it's the only option aside from manually typing like everyone else, but it still feels like a waste of time. I give it two stars since it still cuts down the amount of time I could've spent putting in the text individually, but there have been a number of times that I spent more time trying to get this keyboard to work and I doubled the time that should've been non existent. Really disappointed. My expectations were too high, I guess because the other keyboard put in the word I needed and I didn't have to be so concise, on the other hand, when I am annoyingly concise with running my thumb across letters to be accurate, the keyboard doesn't pick up the word 🙄 this rating has a third of the original words, I had to delete the other two thirds and retype them. I continue to look for another keyboard that's accurate and efficient. If they update this one , that would be nice (:
Sometimes works correctly
by sdewey99 on 2018/10/20 19:43
This app is great to be able to design your own keyboard and enjoy the swipe feature... when it wants to work! I tell my friends when they see my custom keyboard on my iPhone, with swipe, to download this application. But I won’t if it isn’t working correctly and will only cause others technological issues as well. I find myself C O N S T A N T L Y rebooting my phone or messing with the application itself to try to figure out why the swipe feature is in fact not working. Especially when I need it to work, trying to send something quickly and efficiently which is why I utilize this keyboard as a tool almost 24/7. The only thing is the mistakes with the functionality of the swipe keyboard itself is making me want to look into other options because the keyboard won’t work 50% of the time. I just rebooted my phone to fix the issue, and it lasted about 5 minutes, or a couple of texts to be accurate, and then the issue began again! If you could fix the bugs that would be great. Thank you! You will he keep me as a user and I will continue to promote this keyboard.
Love!!!
by Mandy-Mommy-of-5 on 2019/10/20 08:06
I don't know what I'd do without this app!!! Actually Yea I do!!! I'd be spending a hell of a lot more time typing!!! Thank you SwiftKey!! The only disadvantage is not having the option to go into SwiftKey settings to view/edit the "dictionary" that is automatically created specifically as I use the App! I'll keep checking back after any updates the app has just in case this feature is added!! Or if there is an option to do so but I've somehow over looked it, please let me know!! There's quite a few words I've misspelled while rushing that saved in my "dictionary" of words, some aren't even words!! Very frustrating having one of those pop up several times while I'm typing! Even worse when I correctly spell words but SwiftKey will change/substitute it to my accidental jibberish 😳😐!! Now these nonsense words are piling up and popping up way too often!!! Very frustrating! I still feel it's a five star app just give us the option to edit our dictionary!! Thanks SwiftKey!!!
Best alternative
by l11arcangel on 2019/05/07 00:40
This is the best alternative to the default iOS keyboard in my opinion. I picked this keyboard particularly for swipe functionality, GBoard being the other option. I find this one a lot more pleasing due to its simplicity. The default theme is clean and minimal, and I don't mind the SwiftKey logo being on the spacebar (although a premium option to remove it would be ideal). I do have one suggestion for the keyboard, an option to remove the globe/emoji button altogether or being replaced with something more useful and linking the emoji button on the bottom left to SwiftKey's implementation if possible. On my Xs, the default emoji button on the bottom left leaves SwiftKey's emoji button redundant. I can remove the system emoji keyboard but will be left with a huge space. Using SwiftKey with two emoji buttons at the moment. Thanks for the beautiful keyboard!
Needs improvement although best for me
by CasperUllal on 2018/02/08 11:02
I tried Word Flow and Gboard keyboards before I settled on this keyboard. Word Flow is deprecated so there is no point discussing it. Gboard has a couple of features that are nicer than this keyboard - example, searching emojis. However, the predictive capabilities of this keyboard are much better than Gboard or any other keyboard including Apple's built-in keyboard. This is why I keep using it. The negatives of this keyboard for me are: 1) Inability to search for emojis. 2) The predictive text bar doesn't show up in some situations but I can't tell what the reason is. 3) The emojis move around - especially the first part and if you try to send multiple emojis of the same type you may end up sending some other emojis if you keep tapping in the same spot. It doesn't make sense for the frequently used emojis to move while you are using them. 4) The period key doesn't have a single quote option. I find this annoying as I use it all the time. It would be nice to be able to customize what punctuation options are available on the period.
Its a shame Microsoft abandoned Word Flow
by Raikon87 on 2017/09/26 00:07
The swipe prediction of SwiftKey pales in comparison to Word Flow. Word flow would let you swipe fast and would recognize every word...with SwiftKey it doesn't recognize words if you swipe fast, so you have to spend time swiping slow or spend a lot of time correcting. SwiftKey's only saving grace is being able to swipe complete a word from mid word to correct it. however that doesn't make up for its faults. Also they need to add an apostrophe to the first page punctuation button. It's a shame Microsoft abandoned word flow for this. Also if this program want backed by Microsoft I wouldn't be using it.... It REQUIRES FULL ACCESS which I'm hesitant to give even though it's backed by Microsoft. Who knows what data could be getting mined from what you type, that Microsoft isn't aware of. Either way, with all that said, it's the best option on the market since Microsoft took down word flow, so I use it.... But it's far from perfect. Maybe one day Microsoft will start up word flow again or integrate it into SwiftKey... One can only hope.
Fantastic app
by Ahi kdnzidbdiane on 2019/04/11 17:56
Great, smooth, and very well designed, user friendly keyboard. My only problem is autocorrect, autocorrect is great with English but is awful with Arabic. It's always changing things that I typed correctly to weird unintelligible words that aren't even close to what I wanted to say so what I send ends up being gibberish. To be fair, fixing autocorrect for Arabic would be too much to ask because the lexicon is diverse and very regional; all I'm asking for is the ability to turn off autocorrect for a certain language by itslef. I can't give up the English autocorrect but I also can't live with the Arabic one... I hope that option is not too difficult for the developers to add. I feel bad for giving the app 3 stars but having to manually re-correct two to three words of every sentence I type is quite annoying and I feel like 3 stars is the best way to get through the developers. Will update my review as soon as the option to turn off autocorrect for certain languages is added, I check for updates of this app very frequently
Not perfect, but I'll never go back to the stock keyboard.
by Skler5467 on 2018/11/19 22:41
I've been using SwiftKey for about 3 years and have seen its ups and downs. It started out with occasional glitches that would cause the keyboard to close and swap back to the stock keyboard until I reopened whatever app I was using, but even then, the functionality was worth the minor inconvenience. Nowadays, it's 99% stable and its predictive engine knows me so well that I never want to go back to the stock keyboard. The designs look great (I've been using Shooting Stars for years now), the swipe typing is super efficient, and its subtle modification of my typing map makes my accuracy spot on whether I'm typing with one or two hands. The only remaining glitch is that sometimes, the text doesn't continue to scroll down, so I have to manually scroll down or at worst, switch keyboards and back, but the amount of time saved by its features makes it well worth it. Try it out for a week or two and you'll fall in love with it.
Frustrated
by Tahl000 on 2018/11/04 19:02
I like the look of this swype app and I like that it allows to have multiple languages with ease of transition directly on the same screen but it has quite a few flaws. If you want to swipe two letter word and the letters are close to each other, it won't swype. It's ability to predict your words is inconsistent. Short cuts to punctuation marks are practically none existent (unless I don't know them) I hate switching to the number keypad every time I want to use a symbol. The shortcuts they do have (to the right are a pain to use. With the previous app I used, each letter could be pressed for a second longer and it would instead display a corresponding symbol. For example hold g and you'd get a parentheses. Hold j and your get a colon, etc. Also the app would recognize when you'd swype names from your contacts and it allowed you to save words you want to app to recognize. I also don't know how to switch to the regular Apple keyboard from this apps keyboard. I love swyping but this app sometimes makes it frustrating to swype.
Great app, 2 major problems.
by Sjsksksks on 2018/04/01 04:29
I love this app and all of the features it has, especially the slide-to-text feature. It works very well and I use it a lot. Although, there are a couple of things that really, really annoy me about this app. 1. When you misspell something, it doesn't underline the word in red telling you it's misspelled. The auto-correct function does not do as well as the standard, Apple keyboard does, even when texting normal opposed to the sliding feature. 2. You cannot use Siri to type for you with this keyboard. On the standard apple keyboard, there is a microphone icon in the bottom right corner of the keyboard where you can speak and it will type for you, SwiftKey does not offer this feature unfortunately, which is very annoying to me and seems like a main feature they would have. Overall, this application is great and I use it daily. I urge SwiftKey to fix these few issues and I think it would put them on the top!
Hate it more than I Love It
by atandreolli00 on 2017/12/28 05:55
The swipe feature was the main reason I downloaded SwiftKey. And I love that feature. I'm not into the whole customization aspect so I just picked a keyboard that looked most like apple's stock keyboard. The sizing and spacing was different so it took a little bit of getting used to. I tapped a lot of wrong keys in the beginning. The word prediction and auto-correct is TERRIBLE. It is so frustrating to use. I'll type a very normal word that I have typed MANY times correctly and it will change it to some random word. It slows me down a lot. You'd think that the advertised feature that the app "learns your typing style to know what words you choose and use frequently" would actually work...but it doesn't....not even in the slightest. I feel like I am too committed to switch back to Apple's keyboard or a different 3rd party...but overall, I hate this keyboard app way more than I love it. It slows me down a ton while trying to the something simple. Even the swipe feature will never give me the words I want. So yeah, I'm not a big fan unfortunately.
Best keyboard ever but..
by OmerWow on 2017/12/29 20:27
This is seriously the best keyboard I've ever used. I tried them all: Gboard, Fleksy, Grammerly, Minumm, Apple's own keyboard and more, but I always come back to this one because it's just works so good in pretty much every category. I have a small request though: if you can, please do something with the wasted space on the iPhone X, either eliminate it or do something useful with it (in the app settings there's no wasted space for example and that's nice). Also, on 3D touch enabled devices, can you please do that moving the cursor up and down and not only left or right will be an option as well? I know that when you reach the end of the row it automatically does that, but it's not the most comfortable thing... Another complaint I have is that the keyboard doesn't insert a space after things like a .,?! and that's pretty annoying. Last complaint is that there's no long pressing a letter for options like ":()*% etc.
SwiftKey is a slow learner
by expressgoner0101 on 2019/10/01 15:31
I had Word Flow on my old phone and when that died, I had to find another swipe keyboard because apparently Word Flow isn't supported any longer (you could still use it if you'd already downloaded it though). I've been using SwiftKey for a few weeks now and it's so frustrating! You would think after that amount of time it would have 'learned' by now that I'm trying to type 'and,' not 'abs' or 'Ave,' or 'neighbor' instead of 'Bridgette' or 'beige.' Its predictive text capability is absolute garbage. A lot of the time it comes up with completely nonsensical words that I've never used and certainly aren't commonly used in wider social circles than mine. I tried to give it some time to see if it would 'remember' which words and phrases I use the most so its predictive text would become more accurate, but that hasn't been the case. I spend more time correcting its mistakes or just typing out individual letters (which obviously isn't the point of a swipe keyboard) than I do getting accurate swipes. I'll be looking for another keyboard and can't wait to stop using this one.
Not helpful anymore
by I Ms Snow I on 2018/07/08 15:29
So, I initially installed this app because the regular iPhone keyboard was terrible at predicting my Spanglish and because of the beautiful choices of aesthetics it provided. I’m bilingual and I’m constantly switching between the two. Swiftkey was excellent at first doing this, but as time passed not only did the bilingual perk went away, it doesn’t even predict correctly for just one language. It constantly suggests words that I do not use and it doesn’t improve because it does not add the words I’m using. Also, I reserve my right to cuss and for some God forsaken reason it won’t let me do that either it just switches it with another similar completely unrelated word. I decided to give the standard iPhone keyboard a try and it just turns out it is either pretty much the same, similar or better than Swiftkey was at first. Nevertheless, I don’t need the ongoing struggle Swiftkey was giving me so I deleted the app and stayed with the original. Hence, this review because I’m open to coming back if the developers fix all of the issues I’ve been and everyone’s been complaining about.
A giant step down
by LethalMartini on 2018/07/10 00:38
I give this three stars instead of just one because it is technically the best option at the moment. Previously, that would have been the now deprecated Word Flow (which I'm still using and writing this review on), which was a great keyboard that Microsoft chose to abandon (after putting in a ton of work on it I assume) in favor of buying and marketing an inferior existing product. Word Flow brought me reluctantly back to swipe-style keyboards because of its unmatched accuracy. I can practically randomly wiggle my finger around on the keyboard and it somehow knows what I'm trying to say. Swift key requires more time executing precise swipes and making corrections that it takes to just type in the standard Apple keyboard. Yes, Swift Key a little more stable and maybe has a few features that people prefer but please, Microsoft, you own the algorithm from Word Flow that can make this keyboard great... Integrate that tech into Swift Key or give/sell it to a developer who will.
Please Add Long-Press Characters.
by Joshua D. on 2018/07/29 12:38
When using Swype you could access numbers and characters by long-pressing the on screen letters and it saved time because you didn't have to click the "123" button to access them. Would you please add this feature to the Swift Key keyboard please? So, if I long-press on say the letter "x" it would input an exclamation point "!". To me that saves so much time instead of always having to click the button to access those characters. You could put all the numbers for long-press on the top letters and all the other characters everywhere else. I really hope you'll consider my request please, thank you. It would save so much time and make typing with Swift Key so much faster in my opinion. Thank you again if you'll consider this request and hopefully implement into the keyboard. Or maybe it could be an option to turn on for users like myself who are used to it or find that they like and enjoy how much quicker it really is. Also, when I go down a new line on my iPhone 8 plus, it doesn't pull up the screen, it keeps hiding what I'm tomb topping typing and I have to keep pushing the screen up on my own. Would you please fix the app so that i don't have to do this? It's very annoying that I cannot see what I'm typing until I thumb up the screen on my iPhone. Thank you and thanks for all the work and time put into this nice keyboard.
Used to be much better
by gatoverde225 on 2018/03/09 00:11
I loved this keyboard until a few updates ago when it forgot my writing style and vocabulary. Ever since then, it has actively resisted learning the words I frequently use. It honestly feels like censorship because these are words that adults use and I use them ALL THE TIME. I thought it was supposed to learn from ME . . . It always suggests something else. It's a miracle when it actually DOES remember. Which is only with words that don't have many potential replacements. Today it began to make ridiculously loud click sounds, even near the lowest volume setting on my phone. I had to turn off the key clicks on it because it was too much. I'm on a 6s with the newest OS. I really hope that this keyboard can be made to once again work with me, rather than against me. Some of the suggestions/corrections are just plain awful. Especially for names. They should allow us to add words if they can't fix this.
I LOVE swift key!!!
by punk_262x on 2018/08/09 22:46
Hi my name is Kaitlyn...I have been using swift key for a bout a year now and I couldnt be more happy with it! I love all of the designs on it...like when I am missing my mom I can make my keyboard a picture of her. Not only can you put pictures but there are awesome designs that you can choose to be your keyboard...but my favorite is designing my own and using pictures! You can change the settings for how you want it, they automatically capitalize words or sentences that should be capitalized, and there is even a swipe setting in it! Of course though, if you don't want any of that stuff then you can always change it off in settings. Swift key gets to know how you type and what you are trying to say, even when you don't know what your trying to say😂. I hope you enjoy swift key!
Learn from Swype.
by icalc on 2019/01/10 00:53
I was sad to let go of Swype because it is no longer maintained. SwiftKey is the best replacement I found, better than gboard in many respects, however I wish it was as good as Swype for glide typing. I suggest the developers learn from using Swype. The most impactful improvement, for me, would be to allow deleting the entire last word using backspace, if done right after the glide stroke. This prevents me from wasting time deleting long words guessed incorrectly by SwiftKey. The next improvement is automatic insertion of a space after a comma or question mark. A more sophisticated improvement is smart insertion, where spacing is automatically adjusted when inserting new text in the middle of a sentence. Finally, I wish I could curate words I teach the keyboard, instead of hoping that some inefficient (insert your favorite strong word here) machine learning algorithm will figure out what I need. Hoping to see these soon in a future update.
by far the best non-apple keyboard
by actuallyben on 2019/03/04 01:40
I have owned dozens of keyboard apps since the update allowing different keyboards and this is definitely my favorite. You don't have to pay to get upgrades like other annoying apps which I appreciate a lot. The swipe works so well and you can customize your keyboard in so many ways. You can add a picture to the background and change your auto capitalization and auto correct. I would without a doubt recommend this app to anyone looking for a faster way to text or even just looking for a cuter keyboard. I also appreciate that they have their own built in emoji keyboard. With other keyboard apps, when you switch over to emojis, when you try to go back to your keyboard it would only take you to the Apple keyboard. This one goes back to the swift keyboard.
Hands down THE VERY BEST "Swpye" app EVER!!
by CRS 55 on 2018/08/09 21:14
So I've used quite a few of the "Swpye" apps before this one but once I downloaded this and now that I've been using it I tell my friends and family all the time,it's like it reads my mind!! Once you've used it for awhile it seriously "gets to know you" like a friend would :) Even beyond that brilliance comes the beautiful personalization options, and for the love of God I FINALLY know how and often use my clipboard!! I tell literally every single person that I engage with on more than a five minute basis about this app! Yous Guys are killing it man! And thank you!! (My only ensy weensy teeny tiny thing that I would love to add is the text to talk ability. If it's already on her, which it probably is then PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO FIND IT! And if not...then just a small suggestion ;)
My Keyboard of Choice, Still Have a Wishlist
by Andomor on 2018/03/16 23:36
I enjoy using this keyboard, and absolutely prefer it over Apple’s stock tapper. And the latest updated added some much needed/appreciated features. However, I do have to knock one star off for some features that are still woefully missing. First: This is Microsoft’s official/supported mobile add-on keyboard, is it not? Since this is the case, I cannot fathom the reason that it does not have the best and defining feature of WordFlow (Microsoft’s previous mobile add-on keyboard before acquiring SwiftKey): the curved, one-handed keyboard. I sincerely hope that this distinctive and awesome feature from WordFlow is being diligently worked on for SwiftKey. Second: 3D Touch functionality in SwiftKey is atrocious compared to Apple’s native keyboard. With Apple’s keyboard, I can use 3D Touch to move the cursor in any direction I please, not just left and right. And with a second push of the 3D Touch, I can highlight without having to lift my thumb (or finger) to touch the body of text. These two features of 3D Touch in Apple’s native keyboard are extremely useful and convenient, and I would very much like to see them make their way to SwiftKey. So if they add WordFlow’s curved keyboard and vertical movement/hightlighting to 3D Touch, then Five Stars (from me) is just an update away!
Aggravating, barely better than the rest
by tr1999 on 2018/08/03 19:08
I've tried a bunch: Gboard has the best swipe dictionary but is unstable and prone to swipe "breaks". Swype was just unstable to the point of unusable. SwiftKey seems most stable but has fewer features than Gboard and the swipe dictionary is HORRIBLE. For example I cannot swipe "we" or "as" consistently because the w and e (or a and s) are too close. Half the time I get just e and often I get "rwe" whatever the heck that is. I've removed "rwe" multiple times from my dictionary but still it keeps popping up. The swipe dictionary is terrible, try swiping "how've" and I get "Hoeven" or "Glebe". Long press on the period key in a URL bar and you won't get the website extensions (.com, .edu, ...) that you get with the Apple keyboard or Gboard. Long press on the same key when typing a message and you only get a very limited (6) punctuation marks while Gboard gives you the whole punctuation menu. In short barely above a very bad lot of swipe keyboards
Absolutely love it!! Must read review!

Granted I never got the whole 'flow' thing down, I just turned it off in SwiftKey settings. EVERYONE who sees me typing always second glances and then goes, "Whoa, how'd you get a black keyboard?!!" My favorite feature is the constantly updating 'Tap Map' I only have one hand so I text with my right thumb only, and sometimes I miss the letter I was going for, SwiftKey actually adjusts those letters to better suit where you tap. You never notice it on your keys of course, it's all behind the scenes, BUT IT HELPS ME IMMENSELY!!! My personal tap map is actually kind of awesome. Also it learns how you use your vocabulary, and how you personally text, so you'll never get those random word predictions that are totally wrong. After using it for more than a year, it'll know the next word I plan to type as soon as I type the first letter almost 100% of the time. SwiftKey truly helps me! Thanks to them I type much faster, more accurately, and overall I like everything their app does. There are sooo many different keyboard themes too, I highly doubt you won't find one you absolutely love... Hopefully this review helps someone who's interested in customizing their iPhone keyboard. I love it!
It could of been great.

Yet it isn’t. There are two things about SwiftKey that turn a promising keyboard awful. The first is what I’ll call “multi-word gesture correction”. This isn’t part of the autocorrect function but rather a part of the gesture typing. So when i swipe a word, which it gets correct and adds a space appropriately, and then i swipe another word, it assumes that either the second word will fall in line with predictive suggestions for the first, or that I for some silly reason was swiping the word with two gestures, resulting in entirely correct words being changed to absolutely different words not even near what i wanted. It’s at it’s worst with “a” however. It seems to think I want to type out an a word rather than the one-lettered word itself. So a becomes “Alan”, or “assist”, or “Africa”, or “archaeologists”. It’s asinine! The second is the lack of custom themes. Im aesthetically picky, and i much prefer the “blurred wallpaper” look i had going with other keyboards. Not these cheap gradients (as nice as they are); it doesn't fit in. In all it’s a good concept gone wrong. It’s single word gesture prediction is pretty good, and i could even live without themes, but if it’s going to consistently rewrite my entire sentences because it thinks the word i swiped doesn’t fit with the other words, (and therefore i must of “swiped wrong”), then it’s absolutely garbage as a keyboard. Sayonara, SwiftKey. I hardly knew you.
Frustrating... I miss Swype
by StillwaterCreek on 2019/02/11 00:55
I switched to SwiftKey after Swype was abandoned, but like so many others here I'm growing more and more frustrated with it. It doesn't learn from me and frequently suggests words that are not only incorrect but are strange and unknown. Half the time when I try to type "we" it enters a lone "e". What the heck? "E" by itself is not even a word in English. Who stocked the word library in this thing? And why do I have to delete incorrect words letter by letter? If Swype got it wrong, a single backspace deleted the entire word quickly, and it really did learn from its mistakes. Punctuation is especially frustrating. Swype had awesome shortcuts for exclamation and question marks, and automatically inserted proper spacing. SwiftKey is a mess in this regard. I really do wonder sometimes if this is worth the hassle, any faster than hunt and peck. UPDATE: I just found Gboard by Google. Still not as good as Swype but waaaay better than Swiftkey. Plus surprisingly it doesn't require full access.
An amazing app, my #1 daily user.
by John Alden on 2018/11/29 04:52
SwiftKey is hands down the best of the keyboard apps I've used. There are things I still use other keyboards for, so it's not a universal solution, but the ease of use, the EXCELLENT swipe typing capabilities, and about the best predictive text I've encountered make it indispensable as an everyday tool. This one also gives cool statistical info on your typing and keyboard usage, including a "heat map" (recently renamed the "tap map") shows where your fingers THINK letters are, the total improvement to productivity, number of words typed, corrected, replaced, and a total distance your finger traveled across your phone screen while swiping (mine if over 2100 METERS!), etc. All in all, this is a must have for anyone that doesn't use voice dictation.
Terrible
by gjbffyjktdcbjjjydx on 2018/12/20 15:50
I’m using talk to text to write this because the keyboard is so terrible. The word prediction is so bad I don’t even know What some of the words are or how it comes up with abbreviations for words Nor with these words ever make sense in a sentence. I like how the app gives you stats on how many words it’s predicted and change for you yeah it changes all the words most the time words that I have typed out right and then it goes back and changes and I have to redo them again. So I guess I’m going to go back to using the regular keyboard although I will miss my swipe texting terribly but at this point I’m using talk to text more than ever anyway so at least when I type words out it won’t go back and change them hopefully. oh and when I try to post this bad review I asked for a nickname and I’ve tried about 100 of them so far and it won’t let me use any so I’m guessing they probably block out the bad reviews by the system I’ll keep trying hopefully find one.
Great when it works
by Sodiumnitrate on 2017/11/06 01:12
First with the positives: I can use two languages at the same time. This is very important for me because English is not my native language but I live in the US. I also like the design and the ease of swiping and such. But it rarely loads within tens of seconds. I open up a messaging app, be it iMessage or WhatsApp, there’s no keyboard. I click on the text box to make it appear, and wait. It appears in a few seconds but the keys aren’t responsive. Then it crashes. I get the default iOS keyboard. I select SwiftKey from the list again. It appears and disappears. I have to do this several times until I can use it. It’s insanely frustrating. I’ve been using a swipe keyboard since my Nokia windows phone, and I’m so used to it that it’s painful to type on the regular iOS keyboard. And there doesn’t seem to be an alternative to SwiftKey that doesn’t have more problems. Please please can you fix this issue?
Love it

I love this app. In the Christmas of the year 2017 I received my iPhone and I was looking at the apps that my Nana and mom had. They both had these adorable keyboards and I asked how they got those and they told me it was this app. So I looked at the app and read some reviews and decided to dialogs the app. So I went in the app and was trying to figure out how to change my keyboard to make it a picture on my phone...and it turned out that I got the newer version of the app that my family had. And I didn't really care cause at least I can change my keyboard to something different from the standard iPhone keyboard. I kept up with the updates and this winter I updated the app and am now adding my own new keyboards. Love the app!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😁👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Built-in Clipboard a Winner!
by DaveKubi on 2019/05/01 19:56
I've used several keyboards and several separate Clipboard managers. I'm glad I found "SwiftKey" which an incorporates an easily accessible clipboard into the keyboard and which holds up to 10 clippings. I've been looking for this feature for a long time. It makes message composition so much easier! My hope is that the authors at least double the clippings the clipboard holds. Thanks! 7.9.18 Brilliant idea for the designer(s) of this app: Add a button to the keyboard which will stamp a (customizable) date and time to the text being. written. I would use this often in my daily logging of events. Thanks! 😎 5.1.19. Adding a number row almost has me back from "Slyder" keyboard. If you add a date and time stamp button I willbe back. Thanks. 😎
I LIKE SWIFTKEY!!
by my note for Bing on 2019/09/23 07:52
My writing has been great and I like this one the best. The keys have a bolder look that I like also that these keyboards are free from SwiftKey! I also have liked have great customer service which address my questions and concerns within a quick and timely period which is key to my usage and this is key. I just have to use this like riding a bike, the more one uses the better one gets the idea, that will come in time. The only thing I do could not identify or like has changed from the larger animation to the smaller characters which I just looked at now. like are the EMOJI, but that has had changed for the best. It's because I don't know or I never had the use for these gadgets or toys at my disposal. I do like SWIFTKEY, now! John Aguilar from Sparks, Nevada
I am a professional writer
by The. Eat on 2017/10/16 06:59
I make my living by writing and editing on on the go. Every single second I'm able to streamline that process is important to me and enhances the quality of my life. I've been hesitant to use 3rd party keyboards in the past because they always seemed just a fraction of a second slower and less responsive than apple's native keyboard and that fraction multiplied over hundreds of thousands of words adds up. Without question, SwiftKey is noticeably snapper and more responsive than the default one. What blows my mind is the built in clipboard function. I don't care it's an old invention or brand new, it's new to me and it's changing my entire writing process for the better. Thank you so much for this tool👍
One Finger
by Rev Ky 85 on 2019/03/20 21:37
I am a one finger Typer swiftKey has helped me tremendously with predictive words and also with my spelling. Love the different type of keyboards even the custom ones you can make I have chosen the nickel rose colored keyboard because of the very dark background I can see the keys better. The only thing that I wish is that they would make the keyboard where you can use a animoji. you can use emoji’s but not animoji's. All in all I am very happy with this keyboard there is so much more that can be said about it. I would recommend this to anyone. If you’re like me and like change on certain things you love this app literally has limitless Changes that you can make from their keyboard teams to custom themes that you can make. Very awesome app.

NOT ONLY DID IT HAVE BLACK KEYBOARDS... But u can customize them... U can make pictures ur keyboard background. It literally learns how u type and adjusts the keys to match ur rhythm. It's crazy but it does. I've seen reviews on here about predictive text not being Good... That's insane... I've only linked my Gmail and fb to SWIFT...(Option... Helps it learn ur style of writing) and I can start a sentence and literally hit the predictive bubbles and finish my sentence!!!! 5 stars guys!!! U rock!!! Maybe 😉 add in the option to customize swipe colors on the black keyboards 😉 Jus a suggestion Ya'll are awesome!!!!!
Flow not working as well lately
by sadwithanoldiPad on 2018/10/07 20:04
I've used SwiftKey for several years and enabled Flow as soon as it came out. I have chronic illnesses that cause hand pain, so being able to swipe with one finger rather than typing manually lets me keep my wrist and thumbs in a more neutral position. Usually, I'd give the app a 4-5 star rating. But in the last few weeks, the quality of the Flow predictions I'm getting has declined. (Possibly around the time the new iPhones came out? I'll admit I'm still using a 6, for a couple more weeks, at least.) Sometimes I'll have to delete and reswipe an word several times before ultimately giving up and typing it out manually. For instance, it predicted "mauve" instead of "maybe" three times in a row yesterday. I don't think I've used the word "mauve" more than 10-15 times in my several decades on this planet, lol. Or sometimes I'll try to swipe "its," no apostrophe, and it'll insert "it's" and neither of the two options predicted is "its." I don't want to give SwiftKey access to my social media/Google accounts, no offense to SK, so that's not an option for me to try to improve predictions. Therefore, I hope there might be some sort of fix coming down the pipeline. My thumbs and I will appreciate it!
Very awkward keyboard
by SFscott413 on 2018/07/14 22:17
I definitely appreciate the value of typing by swiping my finger instead of pecking key by key, but this particular app seems to get worse over time. Why is this app not learning from my usage? There are certain words I use a lot, yet this app continues to use words I am not intending -- nor use very frequently. And its ability to predict the next word I want is really bad, to the point that I mostly ignore it as it slows me down. Probably my biggest gripe is the poor ergonomics of the punctuation keys: I do not want all of them in one hold-down key. And if you insist on doing that layout, why not include apostrophe, semicolon or colon? Speaking of ; and :, why do they get placed out in the middle of two words? Why do they not behave like commas or period ; instead looking like that? And don't get me started on the caps luck key. DO I REALLY WANT EVERYTHING IN CAPS? FOREVER? NO MATTER WHAT I DO? NO!
Vastly good, regrettable hindrances
by Selekate on 2018/12/13 13:22
DOESN'T WORK WITH SMART INVERSION: photo themes stay the same color in smart inversion, but keys turn dark—completely illegible. If you use color inversion often, e.g., to reduce glare at night on white documents, you'd need to manually switch keyboards every time. OR REGULAR INVERSION: dark backgrounds are easier on the eyes. Enabling total color inversion makes the text legible on the background, at the cost of being blinding. For the purpose of inverting to reduce white space eye strain, swiftkey is defunct. INABILITY TO CHANGE KEY COLOR: above could be solved by enabling white keys on custom keyboards, which would also benefit users who want to use light photo backgrounds. INABILITY TO RESET TAP MAP: I'd like to reset the tap map after switching dominant hands for swiping and texting. There's no option to do this. That's lackluster. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall swiftkey; first, that's a silly solution for a straightforward problem, second, it would reset various type predictions. It's apparently possible to preserve predictions through making an account, but that's definitely not an obvious solution. New emoji/gif/whatever bar is beautiful and elegant though. Despite above problems, makes swiftkey the best tool around in my books.
Love SwiftKey but it's not perfect
by Procat on 2018/04/04 21:45
I found where to turn off the clicks. I'll give it 5 stars - but I don't think it's very convenient. The haptics and sounds should have a default option to use the main Settings. Having to recall there is a separate app for settings is not convenient. This is a great keyboard. I love the letter picking flow feature - you slide your finger to the letters of a word and the word is predicted very accurately. The predictive feature when typing is so-so. It predicts wrong forms such as adverb instead of adjective and plural vs singular wrong often - so it's not using sentence structure or pronouns to predict. The one bad thing is that I have key sounds turned off in Settings but SwiftKey plays key click sounds regardless. It drives me nuts. The app doesn't seem to learn which it should be doing to improve predictive accuracy. I do love the return key! That is fantastic feature and very powerful, especially for posting on social media. Overall I would give it 5 stars if the keys would stop clicking. The clicking can make you especially crazy if you use Bluetooth headset.
Great app, but...
by Cheer4Lili on 2019/06/05 11:07
The truth is, colored keyboards aren't that important to me. In this app, functionality is my main priority, and while most of the time the app does work quite well, there are times when it can be quite glitchy. The main problem, I think, is that sometimes when the keyboard is needed, SwiftKey won't open. This is especially troubling if I am typing in English and need to type in another language. My phone will not let me switch without SwiftKey. The next issue is also language related. I've noticed that sometimes the app recommends random words such as Ai. Lastly, I wish the app would have better recommendations in Russian. Sometimes I forget how to spell a word, but the app doesn't find it. All in all, however, this app is great if your typing style is a bit awkward, like mine.
Word Flow
by Cancelwriteareveiwsend on 2018/01/07 07:38
OK so this app is ok but I can't really decide what to rate it since I'm used to using Word flow. Even though word flow was taken out of the app store, i still have it and absolutely love it!!! Word Flow has some very small but very convenient qualities that no other app has. First off it does really good with "learn my words" ( which yes, I know other apps have, Word Flow just does a really good job with it). Next, it has this feature in which, say you type a word you didn't mean to with the swipe feature, when you erase the word, it erases the entire it word as opposed to erasing each individual letter. It's very VERY useful and is (was) the only app that has/had it. Lets not forget the one hand arc feature. Pleaseeeee bring that app bad or at least make this one have some of those features that the old app had. I did give the other one 10 stars if I could.
Decent keyboard could use more features
by KatWalk65 on 2018/09/17 13:50
Basically it's the keyboard I keep for the ability to switch between light and dark Themez depending on where and when I'm typing on my phone. The auto-correct should by now have more options for customization, and while not as frustrating as Google keyboard, they both turn slightly misspelled words into non-words then offer that word next time (we have patterns of mistakes we make so the likelihood of similar one letter off fast typing should be recognized, but the actual verbal efficacy of current auto-correct is lacking in linguistically/based process. I wish these apps would care about language more than whether a girl with long nails can swipe vacuous acronyms. For example me auto-corrects to my full name and I have no idea how I influenced that data. Plus the inability to offer verbs in various tenses is annoying as well. Overall it's the fact that I can see it and the quick swiping when I need to produce writing in a timely manner are the reason I stay. And the stars are interesting but it feels abandoned like so many. So I expect to be keyboard shopping again someday.
A good keyboard, but a pain to use on larger phones
by Wiilock on 2017/11/11 03:05
While this is a nice keyboard and the swipe to type feature is undeniably useful, it’s rather frustrating to use this keyboard as a whole on the iPhone X. While the default keyboard offers the ability to justify itself to the left or right for one-handed use, Swiftkey has no such feature, which means you have to stretch your thumb all the way over to the other end of your phone in order to accurately type. As it stands, I can’t recommend this keyboard for people with this phone or for people with smaller hands, at least until this issue is resolved. A minor nitpick as well, on the iPhone X, below the keyboard itself, it retains the same color as the default keyboard, and doesn’t respect theme settings. This is rather bad looking, and while I’m unsure if it can be fixed, it can only help if it can be.
Adding new words...
by Sega77 on 2018/06/15 12:58
I know there is a way to add new words, but that way doesn't always work. Just a couple of minutes back, I was trying to add a new word and every time after I finish typing it wouldn't appear in the bar, a couple of minutes later and after erasing and typing the word numerous times, it finally appeared in the bar and I was able to add it to my dictionary. I've used this app before, a couple of years back, and I gotta say, you guys came a long way to perfect this app. Great job on that 👍 But an easily accessible comma and adding a new word to my dictionary has always been your foe. I really hope this review will give you guys some ideas on those issues, because this app has a lot of potential, which has been proven before. Keep up the great work 👌
Fluidity and elegance all in one
by End3r_mage9 on 2019/03/18 03:25
This app not only provides a high quality functioning swipe keyboard, it also provides a variety of customizations on their easily adaptable keyboard. You are able to change the design and color scheme of you keyboard. It flows very well and also has a gif and emoji search option so you don't even have to cycle to other keyboards. It keeps a list of things you have chopped so you can grab multiple things at once and use them as you wish without having to go back and forth. In my instance it is very good at correcting any mistakes or error I make while typing. I have no complaints so far and see none in the future.
Fun and bilingual
by Edzlinx on 2018/09/06 11:31
I've been using SwiftKey for over a month and love it. For those who type fast, this keyboard app probably won't save time, but for the rest of us it can (especially with the screen in portrait mode so that the keys and the distance between them is reduced) while adding a fun element to it. I think it also increases typing accuracy, except for unusual or made-up words, in which case I just type on the SwiftKey keyboard. For me, the ability to type with mixed Spanish and English is a standout feature that I use almost every day. Improvements needed? I'd really appreciate having a tab key. I don't get why iOS keyboards don't seem to include this.

things to make this keyboard better that were in word flow: arc'ed one hand mode and way better shaping algorithms, learning and predictions by far update 8/23/2017: the more I use swiftkey the more I miss word flow. the shaping algorithm and prediction in word flow is miles better... update 11/2019: this keyboard needs the android features. put haptic feedback at least on all the keys instead of only the emoji key already.

Ok so before iOS came out with this I was like wow, how cool would it be to just swipe, well then I found SwiftKey. At first It took a couple days to get used too but after a couple days I was typing faster, better, and I had a super cool background while I did it.

This was an amazing keyboard. But the microphone right next to the emoji button is the stupidest decision made. Just reverse that and its back to 5 stars.

I keep hitting the microphone button by accident. Then it opens a new tab where I'm supposed to give Microsoft speech recognition permission to listen to me. it's in a bad place on the keyboard and there no way to disable it. I dont want Microsoft listening to me take the button off!
Not the same functionality as with android
by prefer androidos on 2019/11/13 17:27
The keyboard is limited and doesn't have the same functionality as with the android os. It has no options for adjusting size of keyboard or ability to select characters/symbols from the main key pad.

Keyboard mistakes often.
by d2drummer on 2019/11/13 11:51
I've been using SwiftKey for years and love how the keyboard is laid out, letters, numbers and period all on the same page. However, unlike when using the standard keyboard, i seem to make spelling mistakes more often and not sure why.
Voice typing
by FINNOMON on 2019/11/13 04:53
This needs to be put in a different spot on the keyboard or better yet... Give people the option to not have it on there all! Every time I go to tap on the emoji icon, I end up hitting the microphone instead. This is extremely frustrating! Take it back! Pleeeaaase!
I love this app

Please remove the speech button
by FlipReality on 2019/11/12 23:46
I love Swift key and it's one of my fave third party keyboard. But with the new version, I keep tapping the speech button since it's so close to the spacebar and it constantly redirects me since I haven't given it mic permissions. It's such a bad user experience. Please reposition this button!
Not good

Worse than android version
by JJ1519 on 2019/11/12 20:44
Significantly worse than the android version. Android has the symbol keys easily accessible by long pressing the key. Android also always adds a space after every period. You can also arrange the number keypad on Android.
Worst update ever
by Iman Mohamadi on 2019/11/12 19:01
You should fire the person in your company whom decided to put Microsoft voice button right next to the emojis button. This is horrible design decision please change it every one accidentally tap it and it takes too long to load.

Microphone button
by SandynClay on 2019/11/12 15:15
Move it as its too close to space bar and other important keys.
That’s disappointing but not enough to make me choose the stock keyboard over swift key

by sbeck7 on 2019/11/12 00:57
Used your app forever, and love it! BUT In latest update when the microphone button was added, it's terrible placement. It's accidently hit constantly. I think the space bar was made smaller... Frustrating to be texting and always interrupted w/ the microphone pop-up constantly popping up

Prefect!!

Awful now
by Telex29 on 2019/11/10 16:27
So after each update it gets worse.

I cannot go back. If I have to type on any other iPhone keyboard, I simply cannot. It takes about a month for the app to learn your writing style, but once it does, you become SO efficient. The statistics in the app are an added bonus.

This app is amazing! 😁 I used to think that my keyboard was so boringwhen it was just plain white but now I have a shooting star keyboard!

Love!!!

Must read review!
by Spazboy426 on 2019/06/03 00:22
Granted I never got the whole 'flow' thing down, I just turned it off in SwiftKey settings. I love it!
It could of been great.
by Wolveslie on 2017/10/15 19:44
Yet it isn’t.

Outstanding

I've had iPhone for over 7 years I Jus got SwiftKey like 8 months ago.... I've downloaded a bunch of keyboard apps cuz u here ios WHITE!!!! THIS APP IS AMAZING!!!
