Great app but having a little trouble
by AboveAverageJoe13 on 2020/02/20 15:57
I love this app but it’s a little finicky when you choose warlock and some of their traits you possess don’t transfer. For example I just created a lvl one tiefling of dispater warlock which means I know the thaumaturgy cantrip but when creating the warlock I couldn’t select it because it technically isn’t a warlock cantrip.
Gotta work for it but it’s PERFECT
by Joucer on 2020/02/19 19:06
This app is AMAZING for dnd ... but ... you gotta work for it. You need to find the compendium files in xml format (various places have even the newest books) and add them to the app. After that familiarize with it and this app is gold. It can do literally everything and if you think it can’t you just haven’t figured it out yet. There are tutorials on YouTube and other site of tips for using the app.
Skill selection
by Purplehare on 2020/02/18 19:10
There’s no option during character creation to pick skills. The only skills I received were from my background. I should have had several available for my class and stat bonuses.
Very useful
by StewartTongue on 2020/02/16 17:09
Fantastic app clearly made for the love the game rather than as a quick money grab. Definitely worth downloading.
Poorly Designed. More work than paper.
by bmc182 on 2020/02/14 06:49
It’s easier to do the math yourself on paper. No matter how many times I tried tweaking the different settings I could not get my ability scores to be correct. Don’t understand how this is so highly rated. You select your character level and it keeps reverting back to 1. I put in what spells the app did have but then they were randomly gone. I had to suffer through and try and create an incorrect version of my character cause DM wants it but idk why cause all the stats are wrong. So...what a waste of time.
A few complications, but it’s very easy to use.
by Peppermintleafblower on 2020/02/12 22:25
The app is really easy to use, and it’s easy to fix if VERY inconvenient that it starts out amazingly barebones and paying $2.99 does not make it less barebones. I finished adding in all the additional backgrounds and races that were left out after two days between working. But everything in the Player’s Handbook should have been included from the start or with the $2.99, I shouldn’t have to outsource or pay to play more than just an Acolyte background or a High Elf if I want to play an Elf. Any races in Volo’s Guide should have been additional content, but if it’s in the official, basic Player’s Guide, it should have been in the basic app. But it doesn’t take long to fix even if you do it manually. It’s just stupid you have to do it that way. It’s a little hard to find where some details are to edit. I originally wrote this review and said it was impossible to edit appearance or your Characteristics, but they’re hidden under Race and Background respectively.
Amazing but...
by +horse Queen+ on 2020/02/11 12:51
I love this app it helps me do my characters way faster but I think it has missing content. The sorcerer is missing skills and I don’t know what else is missing. Also there are only the basic races and classes and no backgrounds other than acolyte. My brother was amazing and did all the work to put all the races in the app and I think everyone should have that. Still the most amazing app ever😁 but please fix these bugs.
Like but seems a bit buggy
by Ashagall on 2020/02/06 01:29
I like this app, in fact I LOVE this app. However, i discovered that after one of the updates i could no longer find Dropbox in the list of places where i could get XML files. It’s very frustrating.
Great but I have a small quibble
by KKH Nayru on 2020/02/05 19:48
The overall layout and usefulness of this app is fantastic; importing or editing your own content can be a chore at times, but it doesn’t really detract from the quality of the app itself. However, I do have one small complaint: when you’re adding files or creating your own content, if you create a spellcasting class, you won’t be able to get rid of its section in your compendium’s Spell tab, even if you delete the class and remove all of the spells from that section. It can be rather annoying when you’re trying to add a lot of content at once and forget to remove the one thing you didn’t want, and now you’re stuck with a heading that serves no purpose but to take up space. Not a major gripe, but maybe something that could be fixed in future versions?
Warforge

I can’t find warforge
Love the app, but...
by JRevia on 2020/02/04 06:19
I have been using this app for quite awhile and recommend it to others constantly, but the most recent updates have broken the spell slots of multiclassing characters who have levels in Warlock. It just doesn’t give the correct number of spell slots anymore.
Good, but RIGID
by MG10334 on 2020/01/31 23:02
Has a lot of the options already built in. Unfortunately, does not accommodate for Expertise or other features that modify what is calculated in the program. Once skills are calculated, it’s impossible to go through and manually modify things for expertise. Class and race feature design is not the best, it just plugs in the description text for a lot of it.
Broken
by J. Corvus 33 on 2020/01/31 21:02
Was solid for a long time, now with recent updates I can no longer level up characters with a custom class. They forced in an auto-rolling thing, and now the level change doesn’t apply when you hit save. Pointless and aggravating.
New multiclass spell slots (warlock)
by josh barclay on 2020/01/30 04:43
There needs to be an option to choose to add a class into the multiclass spell slots. Selecting or deselecting the option upon creation/level up does not help with this issue.
Missing races and classes
by Doctor.Who-flepuff.16 on 2020/01/30 00:18
This app is absolutely amazing, and I would give it five stars, but it is missing the artificer class along with a few races such as the tabaxi. Also, please add more background options other than Acolyte.
Great but sharing needs to be fixed
by waferwofer on 2020/01/28 15:39
The app itself is great UI’s easy to navigate. It also has plenty of features including but not limited to an almost complete mob bestiary and a fumble chart. The only problem I have with it is that when you try to share anything with someone the site it brings you to takes an impossibly long time to open.
Amazing, but a small suggestion
by manlyson on 2020/01/24 19:10
I have been using this for my NPCs for a while now. And once you go through the trouble of importing everything, it’s awesome. I even managed to tinker with it a little bit to allow myself to play beyond level 20, courtesy of a DMs Guild supplement I own. I did have a few problems with it, but that’s mostly because D&D doesn’t officially support play beyond 20th level. So any problems I have I can’t fault the app for. I would like to point out now, that almost all of the suggestions I gave before have been added. There is now a way to edit when your spell slots recharge, and you can add counters to the class itself. It essentially functions the same as adding a counter to the main page, at least on old characters made before the update, but it can be nice to know where certain abilities go when scrolling through your class page. However, for new characters, all classes now come with pre-loaded counters so you don’t have to input them. Barbarians have rage, monks have ki, etc. My above suggestion of adding extra damage die to weapons still stands. However, as I said before, it’s easy enough to add an attack to the main page. If I had anymore suggestions, they’d be minuscule. A few different options for rest resets. Stuff like Divine Intervention falls into this category. It has a chance of working, and if it does it recharges in a week. If it doesn’t, it’s a long rest. I’m not sure as to how easy this following suggestion would be to make work. However, here’s my suggestion. • For abilities that have a longer charging time, like a blessing one of my characters has from their god, which recharges in a week once used. There can just be an option to set a recharge time as a week. And once a certain amount of long rests have been taken, it resets. Or something like that. • There could also be an option for the gray areas like Divine Intervention. A recharge option for that specifically. And when it’s used, you can either make a mark for a success or fail. On a fail, it recharges on a long rest. On a success it recharges in a week. Once again, I’m not sure as to how hard this would be to make work. And this suggestion doesn’t have to be taken into consideration. This app is in a good place as is. I’d give it a 4.8 if I could. There’s just a few little things that could be made slightly better. However, all have a workaround for the time being.
Issues leveling characters
by Zachd232342 on 2020/01/23 20:47
I love this app, use it and game master all the time in my current sessions. However, with the last couple updates I have progressively lost the ability to level up my characters. I will go into the XP and edit it and it still keeps track of it however when that time comes to level up the character, it brings up the new features page and allows me to roll my new health, but once I hit save it doesn’t change my level or my total health. This wasn’t major at first because I could just go into the edit character and do it that way as well. But now, since they added a health roller in the character editor too, I go to hit save and it does the same thing. No level up or health change. I REALLY love this app and I’m unsure if I’m just doing something wrong or if this is a common problem please help.

Multiclass Spell Slots Done Right
by GamerGuy193 on 2020/01/23 04:18
Multi class spell slots have been an issue for a while, and the recent attempt to combine spell slots per the PHB still had issues, but a second update only days later seems to have resolved the issues. Actually, a combined ‘caster pool’ was only part of the solution. The ability to manually control that pool as well as override and create per-class short-reset pools is awesome. I’m not sure about the auto-tracking with leveling yet, but FC5 now has the right configurability for habitual multiclassers. Great update!
New Multiclassing Rule
by UserA113 on 2020/01/21 03:24
I like this app. It’s very pleasant to the eye and does everything you need. I’m hoping Leo Mortero sees this or somehow he is made aware that the new multiclassing update is *almost* right. According to the PHB, the Multiclassing Spellcasting table gives you spell slots for every 1 level of full caster, 2 levels of half caster, and 3 levels of 1/3 caster (eldritch knight, arcane trickster). It also says warlock spell slots, being Pact Magic, do not contribute to Spellcaster Level, but that Spellcaster spells can use Pact Magic slots and Pact Magic spells can use Spellcaster slots. I (and I’m sure other warlock multiclassers) would appreciate this being fixed, as my sorcerer 2/ warlock 1 should have 3 1st level slots and 1 1st level Pact Magic. It’s is confusing because the app is telling me I have 4 1sts and 2 2nds, which I should not have. Great app, but missing this fine detail.
What just happened?!
by ghoulishgraves on 2020/01/19 23:19
I’ve been using this app for a couple years and then ssuddenly BAM, it decides to erase all my characters that I am currently playing and everything that I’ve had so much playing. Like what the crap!!! I’m so furious. Years of work down the drain.
Saved My Home Game
by DM Cody on 2020/01/19 19:10
I use this app for all my players and it makes everything run so smoothly. I don’t have to rummage through things for rules on characters and such. The only thing I wish for this app is automatic conversions for coin!
Great app!!
by VonKrause on 2020/01/17 23:02
Awesome for D&D. Let’s you do everything you need to and very flexible
Pretty good
by Jdnenejisoxiss on 2020/01/16 17:16
This app is ok, but it doesn’t let you choose any new races or classes. It also doesn’t allow home brew material. It would great if you add your own things to it, but of course you can’t.
Fantastic Resource with Varied Usefulness
by Chetthecookieghost on 2020/01/14 04:10
This is a great app, no doubt. However, if you don’t get some of the .xml files from the community to bolster what it has built-in, then the functionality will be limited. Definitely recommend to D&D players of any role in a group, and the DM app by the same developer is also useful. In some ways, this app is actually better due to the easier access to some areas of the in-app compendium. After months of use, there are a couple of things I would be ecstatic to see implemented: 1. Please please please give users the ability to search for specific words within individual articles/files. For instance, let me search the specific totems that a barbarian gets at a given level FROM THE BARBARIAN PAGE, or even just from the search bar if that’s easier, so I don’t have to scroll endlessly through 35 cleric domains of every level looking for what I need when deciding if I want to play it. It takes so much time. 2. A partitioned framework so I can switch between more than one compendium without uninstalling one file and installing another. This would help keep the compendium soooo much cleaner when endlessly scrolling! For instance, compendium one is only canon material I have downloaded, while compendium two is all that plus the unearthed arcana and modern files I have. 3. The character creator could still use a little work, IE being able to save drafts of characters, choosing specific background personality traits more readily, rolling gold after the character has been created, more options for bookmarked attacks, and fixing when different traits are regained in different lengths of rests, especially spell slots. 4. Moving the dice calculator icon to a place where I can access it with a single touch instead of having to open a specific character or the compendium to do it. Not really that necessary, but it would help quality of life. All in all, a great resource if you have the library supplements to back it up, with a lot of additional useful widgets built-in.
Could use a few improvements
by mk3823 on 2020/01/13 03:49
This app looks and functions great! I do suggest that they factor in multiclassing spellcasters in the design, as it seems that the design is great for multiclassing melee characters with spellcasting or pure class builds. It is not great calculating the number of spell slots for characters that have levels in two spellcasting classes. Also, with Eberron now being available, the current books should be included within the app on first download. It’s nice that homebrew material can be added in, but this shouldn’t be the case for licensed material from WotC.
Best mobile character sheet there is.
by sparklepocalypse on 2020/01/12 11:54
It takes a bit to get used to it because there are a *lot* of game mechanics, but now I never want to go back to paper and pencil. Built in features to roll with advantage/disadvantage, custom trackers, and a massive capability for storing character and campaign notes make it a wonderful app. If I had to offer a few wishlist items for future releases they’d be these: - allow character sheet XML to be shared directly between app users - integrate into the Game Master app, so if the GM has info that’s critical for the party to know, it can be shared there - integrate the native touchscreen drawing app so players can easily add/adjust maps and other diagrams
ONLY ONE BACKGROUND!
by Pootersnaps on 2020/01/12 07:22
When you use this app to make your character, it only gives you the choice of one background: Acolyte. I understand you guys need to make money, so why not include some extras instead of holding back the basics? Like you could have cool character sheets, with options for avatars, or have options to customize your character's appearance and have it on the side of the character sheet. You could even have character sheets you can print off. I mean there's literally so much extra stuff you could add to this app to make people wanna buy it. But when you take away the basic stuff, it makes people delete the app and look for a better one that doesn't charge for the basics.

First time in 25 years
by petertracks on 2019/12/30 13:58
The app is great don’t get me wrong I even bought the full version. I just wish it would do a bit more. When I build characters there seems to be something missing I will know by the end of week and I’ll let you know. Seems to me it doesn’t add all the battle skills but could he I’m missing that point.
Amazing app
by dmsdq on 2019/12/28 23:16
I love this app, and it’s been so helpful while playing! A few sections are a little more buried than I had hoped — I would love to make it easier to edit and add class features (I forgot to pick a second meta magic for my sorcerer and had to type it in myself), and the chance to edit the spell casting ability in the player screen would be perfect (I have an Eldritch Knight, but Wisdom is set up as the ability used for some reason). Overall, I’m very happy to have purchased this app, and I’ve been converting friends at tables for almost a year now!
If you play d&d, this app is a must
by IrdunWindseeker on 2019/12/28 15:52
This app is awesome. It is a virtual character sheet on your phone that can hold info for multiple different characters! Unfortunately, it only has SRD stuff in its compendium, but it also lets you add stuff manually so you don’t have to worry about that really. It takes a little getting used to when manually inputting stuff, but once you get the hang of it the sky’s the limit. There are so many things you can do in this app, it’s incredible
Great app but...
by Aidan Anthony on 2019/12/22 13:34
The app is great except recently when I have made new characters I can no longer level up, I have to add some amount of XP. I do see why this could be useful but it is annoying when in all the campaigns I play in we just level up, we don't use XP. I think this could be fixed with a switch in the character creator. Flip it one way to use XP and the other way to use plain levels. This has only been a problem with newly created characters, if I look at an older one I can still level up like normal and if I save an older one's file to my files app then create a "new" character with that file it still doesn't use XP. I'd love if this could get fixed and I would changemy rating to five stars. I do love the app by the way. The review may soundvery negative but outside this one issue it's great.
App is Great, But Problem after recent update
by Ad'Astra on 2019/12/22 12:43
Since the update I am being asked to purchase the software again. I had previously paid for this app.
nothing better exists
by Shinka RX8 on 2019/12/17 16:09
There is no better D&D app out there. Hands down it meets and exceeds the needs of players. the third party support for this app is equally invaluable. WotC missed the boat with their D&D Beyond app. My one and only complaint is that there’s no way to immediately reference your character’s initial ability scores. IMHO, the edit screen should show the un-modified (base) scores, or have some sort of toggle to switch between base and modified scores. Aside from that, this app crushes anything else out there.

Didn’t have my race or all the Druid 2nd level stuff.
by Strawhat Link on 2019/12/16 03:57
Not only do they not have anything other than high elf for elves they only have circle of land for druids no circle of moon so I can’t build my character. I have to add in all the details myself why do that when I’ve already written it all down on a paper character sheet?
Helpful!
by Thoth the unimpressed on 2019/12/15 09:20
I love using this app to help during game play. Being able to just tap on something and see the information for it with out having to go digging online or through a book. One thing I’m sure they hear a lot would be easier access compendium info for when you first download the app. But one of the biggest things I think the app could use to make it better then it already is? Better organization. To be able to sort the characters into different folders. For example, I play both with a group of friends and in an adventures league. With my friends we use a lot of home brewed stuff but at adventures league we stick to very by the book rules for characters. It would be nice to be able to separate them.
Solid App. Issues are from copyright, not App.
by Tophloaf on 2019/12/12 19:46
I’ve been using this app for years. It’s the most comprehensive character and info database with plenty of tools. Due to wizards pushing copyright issues, you have to get a lot of compendium info from their Dropbox or other source but they are super easy to use (less than 3 taps) AND you can add your own home brew content. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about some newer information missing but that’s not due to the app, that’s the big company locking out their info from 3rd parties. Only downside is that I wish they updated Dropbox info for newer stuff but it does take time.
Works great, a little difficult to set up.
by Ethanrme89 on 2019/12/12 14:33
Title. App works well, and character sheets fit perfectly. Finding or writing files can be a little tedious, and some mechanics (such as artificer infusions) are difficult to set up but can be done in the app with a little finagling, and that’s where I would take off a star if I could figure out a better way to do it. But other than that it’s the best app for this sort of thing and I thoroughly enjoy using it.
A little glitchy, but worth it
by Coco LaChine on 2019/12/10 13:26
This is a great app for managing player characters. I admit it’s not perfect, especially when it comes to leveling up (I mean, there’s gotta be a way to indicate that players have advantage on certain rolls, right?), but it’s close, and the tappable reference pop-up (e.g. on spells) are super helpful. This is light-years ahead of other character management apps, including the appallingly overrated DnD Beyond.
Great app, only needs better export
by Philm36 on 2019/12/08 22:51
This and Gamemaster are my favorite D&D apps, especially after importing some data files that flesh out the default compendium. Also you can customize everything, make your own classes, races, spells, whatever. Great for homebrew or using things from paper sources that aren’t in their database yet (copyright issues will probably continue to limit that, unfortunately). My only beef with Fight Club is that the export to a printable pdf character sheet is wonky. The longer text doesn’t fit in any of the boxes and even some of the numbers get lost. Have to edit it in a pdf editor to make it usable. I won’t use dndbeyond because I don’t want to pay for digital content that I already have on paper, but their character export sheet works the way I wish this one did. Could probably be an easy fix in that next update. Hint, hint...
Great App, would recommend to all players
by Kidkash101 on 2019/12/06 16:53
Fight club 5E is a useful tool for D&D players as it’s essentially your character sheet but on your phone. It works perfectly and has little to no issues, but the issues that are present is large. FC5 does not update the app with new subclasses, weapons, magic items, etc from new supplements. You only have the base tools from the PHB. Everything else you must go out of your way to seek out, and with new UA and supplements that introduce spells and the such it means you must add the spells on your own, copy and pasting it. As for subclasses, I have not found a way to go on and add them so let’s say I like the Revived Rouge, I have to make a whole new class that applies for that character only and as I level up and get features I have to add them, but they won’t be present for other classes. If your like me and willing to put in the work then this is not a significant problem, but I know in my group people won’t use it because of such problems (and they are too hardheaded to accept change) another problem which is present is that for certain class features not working one such thing is the Monks Unarmed Damage the being changed from 1 to a die the app will not recognize this, And won’t recognize the monks unarmed strike as a finesse, which leads to a lot of hassle if you do not know all of the the numbers by heart. Other then those small issues the app is fantastic and something I would recommend to everyone who plays D&D 5E
The app is pretty good but it has some problems.
by Darkebrosk on 2019/12/05 22:43
The app is missing a large amount of stuff even if you purchase premium. You can get more by downloading it off the internet, but it’s super annoying to do. Also hoping that in a new update they will add a way to delete creatures from characters.
Greatest app so far
by ThievingSaint on 2019/12/05 17:14
This is the best dnd companion app I’ve seen so far. The downloads available on drop box are more than enough to get you started, and adding your own information is super easy. I haven’t experienced any bugs and I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to keep track of dnd characters on their phone.
Great but...
by grumkata on 2019/12/01 20:00
It’s a wonderful app that makes character creation a lot easier and fun but my only complaint is that it does not have the artificer class but other then that it’s awesome.
This is the best character sheet app available
by Jdjdjfgv on 2019/11/30 05:20
It has so many great features and lets you add everything you want.
The best of its kind, but not perfect
by jArmAhead on 2019/11/25 23:53
This app is pretty amazing. Once you go through the minor hassle of importing the compendium stuff, it is HUGELY useful. However, not offering a licensed upgrade and not promoting the open nature of importing means many may not discover the apps full potential. There are also a fair number of things that I feel should be automated that require the user to dive deep and find iffy solutions to. Spell casting in particular could be better supported especially classes that have spells given to them that pull from a separate pool than their learned/prepared class spells, and features that add abilities/attacks but that the user has to make an attack for manually, as well as trackers for them. Especially with DND Beyond I suspect this app will need to bolster up some of the more core elements rather than focusing on smaller quality of life updates in order to stay competitive should Beyond ever leave the web and hit the App Store.
Review this app!
by Phage0070 on 2019/11/17 19:03
This app includes a pop up requesting a rating with the options “Yes”, “Remind me later”, and “No thanks”. Not only does “No thanks” not make the notice go away forever, it also brings you to the App Store page anyway. So here we are. You got your rating and a review to go with it!
Love it, but wish for one thing

I love this app
by Chiefstingy on 2019/11/13 06:21
I don’t know where my other review went but it seems to be gone. I have been using this app for a long time. It just keeps getting better with it’s updated to interface, usage and features. The app comes with SRD information only, but once you pay for the full version you can add user created compendiums. There are plenty online. UPDATE: You no longer need premium to do this. Also users can share their own compendiums. In general it works but saving via airdrop has very limited options when it comes to saving and you don’t have a cloud based drive. Just a small issue compared to everything else. One request is an at a glance option to have spell list show concentration or bonus spell. It is an extra step to tap and look then switch back (or scroll across). It can slow down combat, especially for my new players I DM for. Overall this is the app I praise for my players to use. It is useful and well organized and offers a lot.
Make sure to download Compendium files!
by LiliaTheSuccubus on 2019/11/11 04:57
If you guys want all the races and classes and backgrounds and items, and every single possible thing you could think of, make sure to google for the compendium downloads for this app!
Where are the backgrounds?!
by Kittens_9121 on 2019/11/07 01:41
Ok, I love this app, it is super cool that you can create your characters online (although I do like it better putting it down on paper). BUT!! I have a few critiques. First of all, where are all the background stories?! Sure, it gives you the option to make your own, but you should update it to have ALL the backgrounds from D&D 5th Edition. Also, for the premium! I think even if you don’t have premium you should at least be able to create a minimum of FIVE characters, not just one. I have two at the moment, and another one in the making; and I don’t really want to pay $3 for just unlimited characters. I ❤️ this app, but please change these. Thank you! 🙏
Great app

by OrdinaryFruits on 2019/10/25 23:17
It has everything you need for creating a character, either following a preset format or manually entering your own everything. I have yet to find a better app, website, or other media to create and play a character, save for the actual 5E character sheets.
Very Useful

Missing to much stuff
by Fat Neal on 2019/10/21 21:24
They apparently only half read the book before making this or decided to not put in the time needed to provide everything that is in the book. Example: There is more than one type of elf. Don’t just assume no one knows the difference between a high elf and a wood elf. Come on guys do the work make this app what it should be.
Great tool
by Jarlackal on 2019/10/21 19:32
This is a awesome tool to keep up with all the stats in d&d. Don’t know how I ever played without it. I do wish that you old keep up with weight in a chest or wagon or horse some way, but other than that this is amazing.
A solid App
by Tacitus, Prelate of the Legion on 2019/10/20 18:34
I’ve recently just started playing D&D 5e and a friend of mine turned me on to this. I can concretely say that this is the best character creator app i have come across. The system is simple and intuitive. While the appearance is aesthetically pleasing. But like all things it is not without its flaws. The Compendium is sorely lacking in many respects, it is presented lacking even the completed class information from the players handbook. While the bonus material from Xanathars Guide, Unearthed Arcana, or even The Monster Manual is understandably absent the lack of even the base material screams lazy to me. This lack of information is billed as a feature, where you can add your own home brews in addition to the cannon material, but is frustrating in many regards. You can obtain completed or mostly completed Compendiums online from people who decided to do the work for the developer but obtaining the files and adding them to the app is often unintuitive and aggravating for those of us less technically inclined. All in all i would recommend this app for beginners and for quick character builds.
Incredible App
by Just read the post. on 2019/10/20 12:12
This is exactly what I needed. It’s a flexible character building app which allows you to download more spells, races, campaigns, characters, and items in the form of XML files. It’s super intuitive and very smooth. With the free version you only get one character, but by buying the full version you can make as many as you wish. I would recommend this to any DM or player. The ability to download characters means if every player in the group has this app, they can send you the character info as an xml file and you can add it in directly into the DM version of this app. Love it.

Best App for D&D 5e Characters
by FrostyMemeWizard on 2019/10/14 17:48
Once you get all the files loaded into it, you will never get rid of it. It provides a constant in-app resource tool to reference 5e rules and has an entire compendium full of everything you could ever want. Plus it makes it easy to create new entries for custom items. The only thing I would say needs improvement would be the equipment pricing. The app only deals in gp or gold pieces. Therefore if something costs 6 cp or copper pieces, it still says 6 gp. Using a 3 digit decimal system would work far better for deciding cost since it is a base 10 system and so is most currency in 5e.
Not all the options

Once you upload the right files, it’s all you need.
by failgg on 2019/10/10 02:10
I just started using it, so I am not quite familiar with the controls or layout yet. It’s not super user friendly, but it seems like it has just about every option I’ve looked for so far. The base version has enough to learn the app, but not enough to build a character outside of the few spells/attributes that come included, which are very few. I had some small troubles, like figuring out how to level up my character for example, and some things are clunky, like it doesn’t seem to add the human +1 or your racial bonuses automatically - maybe it’s just I haven’t figured that out yet, but at our table session last week my friend commented as much. Either way, I want this to sound positive because I really like the app, it is definitely worth buying the full version, especially because it has the ability to add custom and home brew content, also which I have not done yet. Get it! It’s all you need once you load up the chunk of content you get from google searching “fight club 5 compendium”. 5/5 would rate again.
Missing a character sheet, take this.

Great app missing a character sheet grab this. Not perfect but it has the basics and ways to add what you do need. Easy to use good format few adds. This is a good grab for any 5e game. Has dice rollers built in.
Best 5e Character Sheet on the App Store
by Gearman_14 on 2019/10/09 17:37
I’ve used this app as a virtual character sheet for years now, and I can say it’s the best one I’ve seen. The UI is simple and clean, and allows for quick reference and easy navigation. The character profiles allow for a surprising amount of control, allowing you to declare proficiency in different weapons or saving throws, and spells are easy to create and manage. The base compendium only includes the SRD content, but new additions can be added through manual entry or online file packages. Overall, the only complaint I have is that spells cannot add bonuses in the same way that items can (such as mage armor not being able to change your AC). This, however, can be circumvented through creating an item that has the same effects of the spell. Fantastic overall, and I would love to see the same team do a character sheet for Pathfinder 2e.
Terrific app but one problem
by Mdragon200 on 2019/10/09 05:24
The app is amazing with its abilities to not only create a character with option given from an updatable compendium, but to create your own items, spells, basically anything in the app. The only problem is that I have to pay money to create more than one character. This just makes it a pain if you want to have a backup character or one that is for certain campaigns. Please give the option to make at least 1 more character creation for free. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have this app any other way
Fun and Easy
by Hand of Thanatos on 2019/10/07 22:36
I love this app the only small complaint I have is when using it to print a character sheet it misplaced where the info should go so it’s not ready to print as is but that’s a small thing I love this app none the less
Great App for ditching paper character sheets
by IM EM Psy on 2019/10/06 17:53
Got it for me and all my players in 2 games! Pros: Easy to use Easy to modify characters/add special class and race features Dice roller for attacks and saves! Well organized Spellbook for all classes is easy to access from the home screen Easy to add new spells Cons: Wish they would add Xanathar’s spells and classes Wizard only has evoker, will need to manually add other specializations Learning curve for how to make a character a little hard for brand new players, but quite easy after you’ve done it once or twice
I think this app is great
by Bhuncsfhgjj on 2019/10/06 01:55
This is a great app but it’s not complete as I’ve have to manually fill all the feats in myself. I like the character builder and it’s cool that it self builds but it feels limited. I’ll continue to use this app and hope that with future updates will bring more complete features
Fantastic for beginners and veterans alike
by Valkyrim on 2019/10/06 01:37
I was introduced to this app by my first DM, and it walked me through making my first character smoothly and easily. The spell charts are pretty easy to understand, and it calculates all of your character’s scores and modifiers with little hassle on the user’s end. Just remember to download the full compendium from somewhere, and you’ll be all set.
Never go back to pen and paper.
by Charkard on 2019/10/05 18:42
This app really has everything that a D&D player needs. The developers have put so much work into making the app fit your every need from whether you're playing a simple martial character to the most complicated full caster you can make. Uploading compendiums from other sources is also incredibly easy, and is the only legwork you really need to do to make this app truly shine. Well worth the purchase.
My Favorite Character Sheet
by SombraMainExe on 2019/10/05 18:32
This is a wonderfully well crafted app that does all you could ever want a character sheet to do, and so much more. However, there are a few issues with the base compendium with random spaces and misspellings and the barbarian abilities are slightly wrong. As well as when you multiclass, you gain all proficiencies of a class instead of just those you would gain via multiclassing. Overall, if you have a basic grasp on 5e, this is a phenomenal app.

Amazing, though some functions would be cool to see in the future
by msterspock on 2019/10/04 21:10
I love this app a lot. The availability to sync with iCloud to be able to switch between my phone or iPad makes it very useful and the ability to input homebrew is amazing. I wish it made it a bit easier to edit the information once inside the app, as I have problems with making sure there aren’t duplicate spells/items with the files I’ve loaded. But all in all completely worth purchasing the full version if you’re an avid player.

Fantastic DnD Tool
by TaylonHalfElf on 2019/09/29 02:22
You guys need to get in touch with WotC. This is what the DnD Beyond app should be. They’ve got the material, but you guys have the interface chops, and thankfully it works offline. The people that complain are crazy. They expect to get all of the DnD materials for $3 which is just stupid. There are some XML files out there you can use to import if you search hard enough, or you can just spend some time here and there to enter stuff for your current characters from the books you own, and then work on other data after that. Once you do spend the time to get the data set up you’ll find out it’s well worth your time if you game a lot. I’m continually learning new tricks with this app. it’s super powerful. One thing that I would like to see in a future update would be searchable tags. I’d like to be able to search the entire compendium for keywords I set up. Anyway, this app is well worth the whopping $3. It won’t break the bank.
Help!!! App keeps crashing!
by NoeyK Gaming on 2019/09/28 00:43
So I use this app for all of my characters in D&D. It helps A TON and makes my life a lot easier. I really do love this app. However, the past few days, every time I try to create a new character or edit an existing one, the app crashes on me. I really do like this app, but I’m becoming very frustrated. I had to try to remember my character’s spells off of the top of my head during my last session because the app kept crashing. I want to give this app 5 stars, but right now it’s giving me a lot of trouble.
Good but I’ve had to pay for it twice (?)
by post dusk on 2019/09/23 21:52
Great app! Once you have gotten your thing all imported. Sometimes have to finangle stuff. Like adding bonuses that aren’t incorporated right. But it’s other than that I love it!
Not a welcoming experience
by xMcSkillz on 2019/09/22 18:26
This app expects you to do almost everything yourself, and also wants you to pay for more than 1 character at a time. I understand for legal reasons they probably cant put all the content on there, but I’m not going to pay to use other peoples content on your app. That’s ridiculous IMO.
Absolutely useful, one small thing

Hello everybody, I downloaded this app today. So far I‘m very impressed with it and glad that it exists to make my campaign preparation a lot easier. However, I’ve noticed that whenever it says that I can choose for example two ASI‘s, I can always just choose more. It would be great if you could implement that the users can actually just select the number of options they are supposed to. Aside from this I can very much recommend this app.
Great app
by Feliixtc on 2019/09/19 04:35
I love using this app to keep track of my characters. Takes a bit to learn all the little tricks and I still occasionally find something new. As a whole though, this is the best I’ve found in the genre.
Perfect
by JordanTDM98 on 2019/09/17 16:37
The is the ultimate app for character creation and management. For veterans, I would avoid the step by step builder and just manually input all the information. Remember you can add anything that isn’t already in the compendium- copy and paste makes it limitless and fast and easy to have any spell or item in this app.
Best D&D App in Existence
by LyGreens54 on 2019/09/17 04:02
Of all of the Dungeons and Dragons Character creation apps that I have tried using, this is by far the best. The character creation sticks to a solid formula and streamlines the process but also allows for you to add in your own home brew traits or content. However, the power of the characters editor still pales in comparison to the compendium. The compendium starts filled with all of the basic stat blocks and spells from the core rulebooks, which is great because it serves as a searchable quick reference. Even still, the compendium allows you to upload a file into it to add in all of the extra content that it doesn’t contain! 100% Digital character sheet, 100% reference, 200% useful and awesome. Definitely should give it a try

Needs some polish to make it shine
by icatum on 2019/09/15 16:18
The app is incredibly versatile. The base is kinda lacking but since you can update and add content so after a few years of use I’ve molded it into my perfect handbook. The best part is since I’m a DM and can share my app files I don’t have to explain my home-brew items or adventuring supplies. It’s by far the easiest way to get new players into building their character and starting play the first season. Definitely recommend it but the base app is lacking a ton so be ready to put in the work (or download a free file online) Ps. Dropbox works the best.

by J.R. Shetler on 2019/03/05 19:58
There are so many amazing features about this app, it would take several paragraphs to detail all of them, so I’ll keep it short and to the point. This app is, in my opinion, the best D&D companion app available. It has a compendium containing pretty much every spell, class, race, monster, beast, magic item, and rule you could want to look up, with just a few clicks. It has an extremely streamlined, efficient, and easy to use interface that makes every part of playing D&D easier. There is just one issue with this app, and it is very easy to fix. The base compendium that comes with the app is very lacking and incomplete. It is missing a lot of pretty basic things from the PHB, and almost everything from the other WOTC source books, such as Volo’s guide, zanathar’s guide, etc. However, this issue can be very easily remedied. Simply go to your internet browser on your phone, search Fight Club 5 Lions Den compendium files, and you can download the full compendium from a large number of safe sites. Once you do that, this app is quite literally the best one available. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone that plays D&D, and the dungeon master edition by Lions Den is also extremely useful and amazing. Thanks Lions Den for this truly wonderful tool. I took joy in purchasing the full version to help support your future endeavors.

Good but please fix exports/imports
by Bfjgyh on 2019/08/23 22:40
I like this app so far despite that I'm new I've seen videos and good reviews on game master and fight club apps and i think they are good apps and so far for me they are good apps but weirdly enough i keep getting this issue when exporting and importing files and its weird i cant tell if its intentional or if its buggy but i transferred one character and their spells weren't added. Plus other stuff but I cant remember now. Another issue is i have adobe acrobat and I'm easily able to read the character sheet pdfs yet the one you get from making a character in fight club doesn't actually work. Its a bit buggy and shows that i have saving throws and other stuff but not actual showing what the stats are. Example: Saving throws (Blank box) just says saving throw. It occasionally works and shows some of the stats but its only getting worse. If possible can u guys fix export/imports? P.S. Mainly applies to player characters from fight club and fight club character sheets (the one u turn into a pdf). Backup systems good. Its saved my backups i dont know if characters are good on that or just as broken but thats on the same app so it most likely works and thats not import. But good tho. Im mainly having issues with Exports/imports backups are fine. And the app itself is great! So keep up the great work! Big thumbs up from me I'm even considering on getting premium. :)

Great, but...
by Jz sbxjxmzndbdbdjx on 2017/09/01 15:04
Overall this is a wonderful app and I love it, however i feel that there are little things that could use some fixing. For example, the Druid's wild shape is difficult to operate because there is no built in function for it. What I have been doing is using the base animals and modifying it to fit my character then placing it in the companion section and labeling it as such: (player name)-(animal name) This is very doable, but also very tedious. It would be nice to have a less tedious option. Also, a similar problem is stuff like the eldritch invocations, or the wild Magic table from the sorcerers. And finally, my biggest problem with the app is the option of choice. When a race gives you a language and then a bonus language of your choice, it will tell you that, but won't let you choose your second language. You will have to go in and write down what language you want manually, which is also tedious. Same goes for weapon proficiencies, armor proficiencies, and tool proficiencies. It seems that the whole proficiencies section of the character sheet was left out of this app, when it would help a lot to have it. Also side note: the AC auto calculator is handy, but it really needs a section where you can override the default calculator for your own, or just change it manually. Otherwise I love the app, and will continue to sing it's praises to my friends.
The perfect app to calculate everything
by Fizzor on 2017/12/28 06:07
This app is exactly what I’ve been looking for to create my D&D 5e characters. As a techie I prefer to do everything on my devices and this app allows me to have a fully fleshed out character sheet with all the appropriate stats and abilities perfectly outlined in an easy and understandable manner. The only downside to this app is there’s a big learning curve to using the app. It’s hard to understand that a lot of the abilities you get like jack of all trades requires you to modify the feature in order for the app to actually use it in its calculations. But honestly this makes sense due to the large learning curve that is required for any table top rpg. I absolutely love this app and any issues I have with it often are resolved by the developers and are consistently making the app even better!
Great
by Norcalwhat! on 2019/02/15 20:12
Hookay, so, this app is great. It’s certainly not perfect - it requires learning the deeper functions to fully get what you want, but when you get it it’s amazing. Like if I choose a pally - when I auto level it doesn’t automatically add in my class skills. I was trying to think why this was and I think it’s a design choice because there are SO many homebrewed/mixed class characters that if the dev did too much auto-character stuff then it’d be a pain for people doing homebrewed classs (but the dev STILL gives ability to import homebrewed files and the ability to multiclass each time you level). For instance- I wanted the ability to keep track of my lay on hands and divine sense abilities and at first when they didn’t happen automatically I was irked. Then I realized I could easily add these abilities as a counter and I was happy again. This app makes it so I can completely die away with pin and paper (you can even take campaign notes within the app). It’s really cool. I’m in the process of talking the rest of my group into into using the app. You can also import full databases so the app becomes a better resource than most online D&D resources. So nice.
I love this app~
by Elohimgolgotha on 2018/12/19 03:10
The basic compendium is fantastic, the functionality is fairly (not perfectly, but fairly) intuitive, and the layout is very well conceived and implemented. Even adding new content is very easy with only a rudimentary ability with xml. That said, there are a few very basic things that would make the app perfect in my opinion. Support for italics in descriptive text in order to make things such as spell names stand out would be a huge and fairly simple improvement. The ability to create a custom condition and apply modifiers to it in order to mock up things like barbarian rage or wild shape would be epic (I currently create a custom piece of equipment and apply modifiers to that as a workaround, but it seems clumsy doing it that way). All told, beyond a very few basic quibbles with things that aren't supported, this is by far my favorite rpg companion app I've ever used.
Fantastic, but...
by Drunk plane on 2019/06/16 00:42
I’ve been using this app for a very long time, through two long term campaigns and across many different characters that have both seen action and remained as a concept. And I’m not disappointed by the performance of the app, especially when it’s continuous updates allow for more quality of life implements and the occasional bug fixes. However, a major annoyance that I had using the app at the beginning was the barebones nature of the app in terms of classes, spells, abilities, and various items. While it’s not a feature that makes or breaks the app it’s still nice to have and I had to resort to manually installing information packs to fill in the gaps. But with that being said, it’s still an amazing app that saves on paper and ink. So much so that I’ve even bought the full app and I’ve been more that satisfied with the product.
Best App for Player
by dnye on 2018/05/21 23:23
I have almost 2 years playing D&D fully sheet-less thanks to Fight Club. It takes a bit to learn the ins and outs and how to input miscellaneous modifiers, but I can’t imagine even D&D Beyond is as customizable. There’s tons of options. Comes with core materials and most spells and items but inputting .xml files from community forums from all the published materials is a breeze. Xanathar’s, Volo’s and even published modules’ monsters, items, and spells can be found online. I would never go back. Very Minor bug: Containers under inventory tab are a great way to organize items but they don’t save the weight. I can tell what’s in my backpack, pouch, chest etc. and how much the items inside way, but the app on iOS won’t save the weight of the containers themselves. A pack should be 5 lbs but always reverts to 0.
A great app if you’re willing to do some work
by Don Farland on 2019/03/19 14:43
Fight Club 5 is an outstanding app. It is well designed with an intuitive interface and solid logic behind the scenes. It makes creating and managing characters for 5th edition D&D a lot easier and fast. I can create an entire party in the amount of time it takes to roll one up using just the Player’s Handbook. It works perfectly with the companion app (Game Master 5) for DMs and after I introduced it to my table, everyone switched from the paper sheets. The app doesn’t have all the content due to copyright issues, but it isn’t hard to add the content yourself from any books you already own. It is certainly cheaper than rebuying all the books via D&D Beyond.
Helpful!
by Thoth the unimpressed on 2019/12/15 09:20
I love using this app to help during game play.
The Best!
by SiriusGrimm on 2018/12/20 15:38
I have not used an app that makes something so complicated become so easy. The updates are coming pretty consistently, keeps track of spell slots, items, weight, etc. I have found a couple places with the .xml file to import the whole compendium of creatures, races, backgrounds, feats, and items. You can even print off the character sheet as a PDF. If you are DMing I highly recommend getting the GameMaster5 app too. The free version allows encounters up to 5 monsters, has the full list of monsters, and is handier than using paper and pencil to keep track. If the creators are reading this, guys you are incredible. I support you! Thanks for helping my PCs get hooked into DND and community and friendship.
Fight Club 5th Edition
by Dulac50 on 2018/06/10 01:56
This is an update of my comments below. My problem was that I forgot how to access the updated files from Drop Box and a minor change in the app confused me into thinking I was updating the files. So my comments below are incorrect and the app is great! Normally I would rate this app as 5 stars; however, I created a bard character recently and when I hit third level I went in to update my character I found that the only college available was the college of lore. I sent an email to the developer and have had no response. It has been a week now. I don’t even know if they got my note. I will revisit this rating when or if the problem is corrected.
Awesome!!!
by DamiensRomeo on 2019/03/28 05:42
I found this and Game Master 5 at the perfect time. Both apps together allow me to manage multiple campaigns, track precise details like: character/party gold and resources, inventory, carry weight, etc... Yes, it definitely takes some time and energy to get things going, and you have to complete the database yourself (a.k.a. Download compendiums online), and yes, it takes some programming to make it work properly, (hint: tap the descriptions to add modifiers, proficiency, etc., and do not be afraid to add to the compendiums!). These apps have changed my game immensely for the better! So much brainwork is no longer my responsibility, and building adventures to suit my players is a much more immediate possibility! Thank you!!!
Great app
by Nureshkmael on 2019/06/24 15:52
Highly recommend it. I'm a mental health therapist and I use dnd as a way to build social, communicating, and emotional regulation skills with kids. This program helps them keep track of their character. The only downside is that there is difficulty getting any external xml compendium files loaded into their devices. I can't just send them a url to the file in Dropbox, it has to be in their drop box for it to pick up. Also, any chance it could be a little easier to take characters past level 20? Once I take a primary class past 20 and add a secondary class, the leveling elements don't work right as it doesn't add the new features.
Licensing Reasons
by SgtShocker on 2019/01/09 03:31
I love this app and my players love this app as well. For people giving 1 star because the compendium is “incomplete.” The developer can only use the content licensed as free and open source, and if they were to include everything in the PHB and other modules they would be infringing upon WotC copyrighted material and be hit with heavy lawsuits. That is one reason it was left open for us to edit our own compendium. Just Google Fight Club 5 compendiums and within the first few links you’ll find everything you could ever need. There is a fantastic community that has built import modules for everything from PHB content to homebrew and everything in between.
Great app, don’t become too dependent
by blukas on 2019/06/10 14:48
This app is instrumental for new players to learn stat mechanics. The automatic tie in of conditions, built in SRD content, and ability to upload/save entries that expand the SRD is great! Only major criticisms I have for app usage is that rolling dice could be a lot easier, especially if you were able to input a bit and damage die on attacks/spells. My biggest issue is that I lost everything in my character once when the app had an issue syncing with iCloud. The issue propagated to all my devices, so the character was gone everywhere. I contacted the developer multiple ways with zero response. Ended up re-creating the character, which took a lot of time, but wasn’t too hard. The thing that left me with a bad taste is that they never responded.
Best 5e Character Sheet and Compendium
by Appsuggestions on 2018/10/07 15:52
All I can say is this app is amazing! With a little bit of help from the Fight Club XML Twitter page and a lot of magic, this app is able to provide a better character sheet experience than any other software I’ve used (and I’ve used a lot). This app has the ability to basically input the entire PBE, DMG, and MM with a push of a button (and a little bit of work) and supports homebrew from any location you can find it. This app has more features (some of which are dealbreakers to me) than any other piece of software. It’s easy to use, very user friendly, and BEAUTIFUL! Best replacement of a pen and paper character sheet EVER, PERIOD!
Thank you! 🙏
Practically perfect, but one suggestion
by Joystick1898 on 2018/12/04 07:19
I’ve used this app (and gamemaster 5) for a couple of years now and it’s been incredible. I couldn’t imagine playing D&D without it! I had a thought today while putting together a character and figured I’d leave a review and drop my suggestion at the bottom here. I’d love to see an area where the health bar and other combat stats are located where I can note damage immunities/resistances/vulnerabilities just like in GM5. Why would I need this when I have the traits marked on the side with the rest of the racial stuff? Well during combat I’m mainly using the stuff on left side of the screen and those notes on the right are nice but as a player I’m dumb and forgetful sometimes. I can add a custom counter under the statistics section to track my second Wind uses or action surge. Or add a custom roll for the stonecunning dwarf feature. But there’s no good way to add add a damage type resistance where it’s plainly visible amongst the other combat stats. Anyway, it’s a great app and I use it pretty much every day!!

by Jthor-quickid on 2017/09/18 21:12
As a dm I love using this to create my npcs that join or become enemies to the party. Easy to import data and to create new spells, weapons, items, classes well everything. And while I love how my player prefer to use paper sheets, I do keep a copy of each character on this app just in case they forget their sheet. As a player I will always make a paper sheet just because but being able to keep track of all my spell slots/HP/and other buffs on this app is great. It keep my paper copy clean and makes it very easy to remember what I have left to use at the start of the next session since we only play maybe two a month
Great Character Creation!
by Gr4v37 on 2018/03/19 00:34
This is the best D&D 5E app I’ve had ever. I’ve had this app since about a month after it came out. It has been a great addition to my resources. Although it doesn’t have a complete compendium, not even all the races and classes from the player handbook, BUT they have made it very easy to find and import community made compendiums (any simple Google search will get you all of the books). My only very small issue I have with this app is when using it on a Apple device that does support multitasking you cannot split screen. That would be my only request from the developer, everything else is great. Keep it up Lion Den, great job! Looking forward for more updates!
Great app
by Nick & Mel on 2018/01/05 10:49
I’ve been using this app for a little while now, and it is currently my go to for rolling a new character and playing. The recent iteration has fixed much of the difficulties faced previously. It does require a little outside hep to be fully functional, but once that has been done the app has everything at your finger tips. Some things do take a little while to fiddle to get to work or figure out, but it is simple enough. I wish the conditions section had the option to select spells and then apply all the conditions of that spell. As a counter point to some who might say that some of the stuff is a little tedious to type in you self, it is no more tedious than writing a whole character sheet up on paper. Plus I like the ability to have the full description of my ability rather than a short hand version with PHB page number to go look up. Overall I love the app. Everyone at my table has it and uses it in some form (our Druid has a deck of spells that uses for her prepared spells, as she prefers that) and I’d recommend it to anyone who plays D&D
Great app! Just needs rage and a better conditions system
by Sally Forthmobble on 2017/09/10 18:57
I use this app exclusively, and it's awesome. The roller is fair. And the calculator setup for rolling?! Awesome. They're always listening to feedback and updating! It's so worth the money. When I play a barbarian, I put in a custom item that gives me my buffs and make a custom spell slot to count how many times I have left. It works well, but I wish they had a rage thing for Barbarians. I also wish they had the actual conditions, instead of having to manually put in each numerical buff or debuff. I just made items called "fatigue," "drunk," "sickened," etc. and equip them. ....those things are literally the only things I can think of. It's great guys, do it.
Smart Buy
by bjs1990peregrine on 2017/08/31 00:47
I've tried my hand at multiple programs of this type and this is my favorite. Here's why: Fight Club requires a working knowledge of the system to make it work. It's not an idiot proof point and click character generator. If you want to make something up, you can go ahead. It's easy to cheat here, but it's also easy to cheat on paper too. It is this flexibility that makes this app ingenious. It's not a rule monger, but rather an assistant that requires YOU to know what you're doing. It provides the ideal amount of guidance without getting in the way. In short, stop reading this and buy the full version! ;)
Excellent app for anyone playing D&D 5e
by isaluteya on 2018/04/16 00:21
I highly recommend this app to everyone playing D&D 5th edition. It includes spells, backgrounds, items, races, and feats, all in an easily accessible system. As a DM, I keep this app handy when balancing the spells of all the members in the party. I use it to verify range, components, and details about that spell that we may have glossed over. Some of the spells aren’t exactly perfectly word for word in the PHB and some have different names (ex: Tasha’s Hideous Laughter is just listed as Hideous Laughter in the app) but it is not at all difficult to change. The app is super customizable and the interface is simple and easy to use. Lastly, the app doesn’t have the full compendium of all spells, feats, backgrounds, etc. but they can be easily exported into the app from Dropbox. The .xml files are all easy to find on Google and upload very quickly. Although it does take a bit of work up front to really prep the app for reference, the work is worth it in the end for the easy access.
Love it.
Great App, Minor Flaws
by ChickenSaysMoo on 2017/12/22 04:22
While this app is really fantastic and, thankfully, aesthetically pleasing, it does lack some features I’d like to see. Having imported a few compendiums, I have an insane amount of resources at hand- however, it can be a little irritating to find them. I’d really like to see a search feature in the future to search for spells, items, etc. across all tables rather than forcing us to do it by file, especially when certain spells aren’t particular to a certain class. It’s possible, yet so agonizing. All in all, it’s a small price to pay for convenience and smoothness.
...it's just the cloud storage though.
by ObligatedHornet on 2018/03/09 05:45
I love this app. I can't stress that enough. I think this is ideal for when you forget your player sheet and need a backup plan. It may take a bit to learn but it's totally worth it. All the tedious math is already calculated and has a spell book for reference. This is an amazing app. However, the only catch is that the cloud save feature does not work. I paid for the full app and made several characters, but it still has me worried if they aren't backed up anywhere. I planned on replacing paper player sheets with this entirely but not until that cloud feature is fixed. Would definitely be a 5/5 otherwise.
Impressive app
by <Nick B> on 2018/11/18 17:12
Thanks for making this and doing it well! I really enjoy it and similar apps are very expensive. One place that I see where improvement can be made, however, is the printable character sheet. I’m on an iPhone 6+ and in both on-screen and printed versions of the form some text boxes are clipped or off alignment. Mainly all of the modifiers (+2) down the left hand side of the page above the stats including the proficiency bonus, but also the saving throw modifiers (+1) column as well. Lastly, all of the text boxes in the upper right (Class & level) and the hit dice text box. Thanks!
Exceptional
by Selekate on 2017/09/09 13:44
Fight Club 5 is intuitive to use and versatile in customization. It's great for spellcasters especially, as you can browse a list of your class spells without constantly needing to look them up to see what they do. It doesn't have a way to filter spells by school, which is a hindrance for some wizard players, but you can set up a custom spell list for schools of magic. This wouldn't also filter by your class though. Spell classes can't be removed without editing the xml files used to import compendium information, which is a little irritating. Otherwise, the app is amazing.
Good !
by Dccjvj on 2018/02/24 14:46
Works excellently as other reviews have already said the ability to have racial features and modifiers already added in to most every roll make this app a great way to make even the super nit picky rule following players satisfied the only thing that even comes close to a downside and keeps it from all five stars in my review is that it just doesn't have all the information in the app. I have had to add spells to the apps compendiums that are listed in the handbook. But it's easy to add those in you could as easily add in homebrew spells, items, races, classes, whatever because it is so convenient to add things into the apps compendiums
Amazing app
by dmsdq on 2019/12/28 23:16
I love this app, and it’s been so helpful while playing!
Needs some polish to make it shine

The app is incredibly versatile. The base is kinda lacking but since you can update and add content so after a few years of use I’ve molded it into my perfect handbook. The best part is since I’m a DM and can share my app files I don’t have to explain my home-brew items or adventuring supplies. It’s by far the easiest way to get new players into building their character and starting play the first season. Definitely recommend it but the base app is lacking a ton so be ready to put in the work (or download a free file online) Ps. Dropbox works the best.

Thank you! 🙏
Great app

It has everything you need for creating a character, either following a preset format or manually entering your own everything. I have yet to find a better app, website, or other media to create and play a character, save for the actual 5E character sheets.

Great tool

Definitely should give it a try

by icatum on 2019/09/15 16:18
The app is incredibly versatile.

I took joy in purchasing the full version to help support your future endeavors.

by Kidkash101 on 2019/12/06 16:53
Fight club 5E is a useful tool for D&D players as it’s essentially your character sheet but on your phone.

So nice.
The Best!
by SiriusGrimm on 2018/12/20 15:38
I have not used an app that makes something so complicated become so easy.
Thank you! 🙏

In short, stop reading this and buy the full version! ;)
Fantastic DnD Tool

Impressive app

Thanks for making this and doing it well! I really enjoy it and similar apps are very expensive. One place that I see where improvement can be made, however, is the printable character sheet. I’m on an iPhone 6+ and in both on-screen and printed versions of the form some text boxes are clipped or off alignment. Mainly all of the modifiers (+2) down the left hand side of the page above the stats including the proficiency bonus, but also the saving throw modifiers (+1) column as well. Lastly, all of the text boxes in the upper right (Class & level) and the hit dice text box. Thanks!
Exceptional

Fight Club 5 is intuitive to use and versatile in customization. It's great for spellcasters especially, as you can browse a list of your class spells without constantly needing to look them up to see what they do. It doesn't have a way to filter spells by school, which is a hindrance for some wizard players, but you can set up a custom spell list for schools of magic. This wouldn't also filter by your class though. Spell classes can't be removed without editing the xml files used to import compendium information, which is a little irritating. Otherwise, the app is amazing.
Good !

Amazing app

I love this app, and it’s been so helpful while playing! A few sections are a little more buried than I had hoped — I would love to make it easier to edit and add class features (I forgot to pick a second meta magic for my sorcerer and had to type it in myself), and the chance to edit the spell casting ability in the player screen would be perfect (I have an Eldritch Knight, but Wisdom is set up as the ability used for some reason). Overall, I’m very happy to have purchased this app, and I’ve been converting friends at tables for almost a year now!
