The calibration is totally off. It’s nice that you can make what color your want. When I’m trying to make a circle, it just makes an oval.

When I downloaded this app I had a gamer moment
by ACERATE on 2020/01/28 03:59
This app is so fun and easy to use and learning how to use it was easy as well. I love using this app to draw my only problem is the eraser and how I have to go over things multiple times with it. But overall great app.
Cluttered
by skeieideodoeoe on 2020/01/28 01:54
The full screen option doesn’t get rid of the oval that is in the way &has everything.it’s pretty useless because in both normal&fullscreen mode, there is a slide that doesn’t get in the way & still has everything
BEST APP EVER
by Yoyoyoyoyo65432 on 2020/01/27 20:07
this is a good app if you are just starting or if you are Awsome at it but the only thing is this app has no way to layer and then erase to Show the color of the first layer also has no easy way to shade
Keeps Freezing
by anonybyte on 2020/01/27 19:40
I’ve used this app for several years now, but only with the newest updates did it start freezing. I love the app, yes, but it’s starting to become frustrating when I’m in the middle of a piece and the app just stops in its tracks.
Is this supposed to happen?
by Boo blo blo on 2020/01/27 13:40
I love the app but recently I was unable to get into my best drawing. It has about two hundred and fifty layers but I still need to get into it. All my hard work and I’m unable to get to it. Please fix this. I also think you should upgrade the app to tolerate insane amounts of layers. Over half of mine have over fifty.

Amazing app
by sPiCYpiCKLeSSS on 2020/01/25 02:32
I love using this app for doing sketching and finished pieces. This app is fairly easy to use and I recommend it for anyone who’s just starting digital drawings. I do have one thing about it though that I do have to nit pick though. When I try to leave a drawing and click on discard changes the app always freezes up. But other than that this app has really helped me as a artist! 🙂🙂🙃
I like it but...
by oof. reviews. com on 2020/01/25 00:12
I love this app. It helps me a lot. But I really wish it had an undo button. Most drawing apps have that and it would be amazing if this one had it too.

Not great
by all the nicknamed where taken on 2020/01/24 02:11
I’ve Tried so many other art apps and overall, this was the worst. The brush tips are confusing despite the wide variety. The app looks tacky and I’m that type of person who appreciates the look of the app when your in it. The calligraphy brush tip is one of the most important and is one of the reasons I’m rating this two stars. It’s way too touchy. It ends up looking splotchy and misshapen. However, I do like the playback video. Also this app isn’t beginner or professional friendly. Would not recommend to beginners. I’m sure the app designers and coders or whatever spent a lot of time and effort on this app but it’s not the one for me.
Love it!

by Wolfheart3424578 on 2020/01/21 20:36
This app is really cool, but it’s not very easy to use. I find myself occasionally struggling to use it and I wish we didn’t have to click the icon to undo. Other then that, this is great! Just needs to be a little easier to ‘figure out’
Amazing !!!
by AlissaShiomi on 2020/01/21 20:22
It has one of the best tools ever, it’s easy to draw. IT’S FREE !!! the tool that you can see what color is, it’s amazing!! I have done a lot of painting and draws on it

I love how much I can accomplish in a short amount of time with this app. And it has many great features. The undo and redo buttons are a little difficult on iPhone though. I definitely recommend using an iPad

Everything about this app is great. I just want to know if it’s possible to add a free transform/warping tool to more freely change images.
Fabulous! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
by Frozen Echos on 2020/01/21 00:28
This is the best digital drawing app out there!! Everything is free and there are no annoying ads! When I downloaded it it was kinda confusing to get the hang of where all the tools were but once I figured it out I drew many cool things! 😁 I TOTALLY, recommend this amazing app! If you have been searching for awhile for a good sketch app search no further! This is the app for you! I just can’t believe and app like this exists! It’s too good to be true! Most sketch apps I’ve had were awful and you’d have to pay for everything 😩 But this app is ,again, all free! I used to be bad at digital drawing but thanks to this app I’m improving quickly! Thank you thank you for this app! No other app is better than this!!! Download and start sketching because you will make amazing things with it! 😉 UPDATE: Ok so this app is fine but at the same time I’m really annoyed 😒 So the app always freezes so I can’t do anything and I have to deleted the tab and after I open it back up half of my work is gone! Sorry but I’ll have to push this rating to four stars now. It also will randomly exit me out of the app and I hate having to redo half of my work again 🙄 Please fix this. Otherwise like I said in my earlier review it’s pretty good 🤷🏼‍♀️
Amazing

Bad colors
by mqnwbevecrxtzy on 2020/01/20 15:51
I will choose a color I want to use and it will completely change the color! It will not be even remotely alike to the color I selected!!! I will choose pink and it will show up green and every time I go over that it showed a different color and I never got the color I selected. Where is the blending utensil? I would want to blend and I couldn’t blend out the colors. I ended up just using the mostly water setting

One of the best apps for artists, very intuitive
by Linz C. on 2020/01/20 14:41
I have adobe illustrator, which requires a monthly payment and I use this app more and like it better. I am more of a beginner with digital art and this app is just what I wanted and more. If i have an idea anywhere, I can pull this app out and jot it down. It is great for beginner and advanced artists. It has so many tools and options to work with. It’s very easy making your vision come to life. I would recommend a stylist since it is an application for touch screen and this helps it be more precise. So much fun, no complaints.

Great!
by JoeyStoica on 2020/01/20 05:12
I really like this app, especially the line straightening. The layout is really nice and the brushes are really smooth. However, there is a small bug. Sometimes when I enter the app, I start drawing and it just freezes. I then have to exit out of it only for it to happen again. It is a problem, so can you please consider fixing it? Overall, it is great.

Meh, it’s kinda hard to use. It’s quality is kind of low, it’s difficult to figure out how to use tools. It’s not bad, but it’s not good. I think there’s more improvement to be done on it.

Great App!
by Cupcake lax 245 on 2020/01/19 12:09
I love this app so much! I casually doodle and just have fun with the different brushes and tools. This app has the potential to earn 5 stars from me. I really miss the SketchThis challenges! They gave a reason to draw and it was my favorite part of the app that set it apart from others. Without the option, I have not used the app as much since I lack inspiration. I’m sure there was a reasonable explanation for the removal of it, but it still saddens me that I cannot share my art or see others. I would also love to see a clipping tool for layer! That would totally give this rating the last star.

by Anonymous4U2Know on 2020/01/19 04:00
It’s a great app that has great features with different drawing tools, simple and easy to use but it tends to slow down and even freezes up. And it can’t be my table that’s acting up since I just bought it and only freeze up in the app.
It’s pretty good so far🤗
by oofiy on 2020/01/19 03:25
I like this App a lot but there is one problem after one day or so it will Break when itry to draw it stop and not let me and I’ll try it exiting out of App but that doesn’t work I have to re-download it but other then that I like it
Ugh
by AJsmoochy on 2020/01/19 03:21
Sometimes I can’t change the colors or bring back the layers view. It gets stuck on the color pallet and I can’t draw unto new layers or change the colors with the color wheel.
It’s really good (+ one minor problem)
by ash25897417007225review on 2020/01/19 02:21
I’m really happy with the app!!! I used it before the pro became free and I enjoyed it then, but now that pro is free its soooo much better. Thank you so much for a cool and relatively easy to use drawing app. One issue, however I have, is saving pictures... I’m on an iPad right now and it does not let me directly save the pictures. When I hit share, there is literally nowhere to directly save the image, so I just have to share it to notes and then save it from there, which is an annoying hassle. Despite this, hitting the share button in my iPhone, I can save my image directly from the app. Other than this I love it!!! Thank you for the app!
Used to love but
by ShawnVT on 2020/01/19 01:35
Lately, whenever I erase, sometimes when I am drawing, it freezes, sometimes it unfreezes, but most the time I have to send task it. I am using iPad Pro 12.9, it’s only a couple months old. How can I get this to stop?

This is an astonishingly good app - great on an iPhone, even better with an iPad and Pencil. The UI is first rate, and the Help always seems to have what I need. Though I work mostly in Procreate, Sketchbook has some very useful features when overlaying photos. Sketchbook has become a favorite in my tool kit, and you won’t believe an app this good is free.

This game is so great but it has some flaws when I first started to use it it was really complicated I didn’t know what most of the stuff could do so me and my dad watched a video how to do it i still didn’t really know how but after a drawing I started to get the feel for it and till this day I’m still using it other than that it’s a really great app so I’m giving it 4 stars and here is some feed back I think when you first get it their should be a step by step how to do it and if you don’t want instructions their could be a skip button and I think that’s it I will always love this app!!!! 👏👏😊😊😊🤪🤪🤪🥳🥳🥳🥳

Awsome app but...
by 💛GhostAngell💛 on 2020/01/18 15:02
This app is great. It has many tools that you can use and that work perfectly. It took me a while to get used to it but as soon as I got it down it worked amazingly. BUT I have a suggestion. I usually draw on my iPad but I also like to draw on my phone if I’m going somewhere I can’t bring my iPad. Sometimes I want to continue or finish my drawing. When I tried searching up how to sync my drawings, the website said you don’t have that option. So I was bummed to find that out. If you could get the apps to sync with each other on different devices, I would absolutely appreciate it and so would many other people who use the app for its multi-purposes. Thank you for reading.
Reverts to old version
by axeswoman on 2020/01/18 11:43
I had the latest version (Autodesk SketchBook) for iPad and IPad Pro. Recently this version reverts randomly to an older version which does not include text and import photos. I struggled to find an app with everything I was looking for in one, but Autodesk seems to have it all! I use a Wacom Fineline stylus, and have excellent palm rejection, zero lag, and great pressure & sensitivity recognition. I’m very happy with what I’ve seen, especially since it’s a free app :) (which is great because it’s accessible to absolutely everyone) One thing I might like to see though, is the ability to copy and paste selected strokes.

Excellent App, a Couple Suggestions
by TheTRUEgge on 2018/06/21 01:29
This is a fantastic drawing app, and I am continually astounded by the things it can do. It doesn’t lag even when I have an admittedly absurd number of layers hanging about, and the line correction tool is extremely well-done. However, there are a couple of things I think this app would benefit from. As a webcomic artist, I would personally really like the ability to import new fonts- until then, I’m stuck doing my formatting in photoshop, which works, but using two different applications (On two different systems, notably) is not ideal. Additionally, I would love to be able to ‘favorite’ tools from various classes and have a personalized toolbar where they are- this would save me a lot of time scrolling through the options and remembering which brush I really liked that one time. I would also really like an easy way to copy/paste selected areas on the mobile version (I do all my work on an iPad Pro and it works fantastically), and maybe an easier way to make straight lines symmetrical to the edges of the frame- the only way I’ve found to work consistently is the rectangle tool, which isn’t always the best option. In any case, I adore this app, and I’m really happy that the full version is now completely free. I can’t wait to see the new features you implement in the future.
Great sketching app!
by Kjolblk on 2018/02/09 22:56
Great app! I’ve had this app maybe for a month but I already love it. The features are a lovely mix of creative and technical that I can really appreciate. I also love that you can purchase the extra tools without having to commit to some yearly payment plan. I’ve only found one bug so far that keeps this review from being five stars. When I first started using the app, I noticed that using the hold-touch-eyedropper function, even by accident, would cause the app to effectively crash. I could still access all of my projects, but none of the tools would make any mark whatsoever until I went out of the app, closed it out, and restarted it. After I turned the long-hold-touch shortcut off, the bug didn’t pop up as often, but every once in a while, it still does act like I’ve activated the eyedropper and the app will ‘crash’ again. The bug never happens when I manually go into the color wheel and click the eye dropper button, so I think the bug is linked to the gesture shortcut that I can’t seem to turn off. The bug isn’t a super big deal, but it is a little annoying, especially if you do like to use that shortcut and keep it switched on, and it is irritating to have my work interrupted because I have to restart the app. It would be great if the developers could fix it in the next update. Otherwise, the app is great for drawing and sketching and I would definitely recommend it.
It works better than ol’ SketchBook Xpress
by BARninja24 on 2017/10/23 16:13
About a year ago, I downloaded the SketchBook Xpress app a couple of days after I got my very own iPad Pro, it worked just like the one I have on my Mac computer, but as the months passed, the SBX app told me to ask the developer of this app to update it or just continue with it’s current version, I went to the App Store and this one had no new updates, so I was cool with drawing my digital art in that current version anyway, but a year later after I got my own iPad Pro, I updated my iPad Pro to iOS 11, and when that SketchBook Xpress does not work with iOS 11 updates, it put me back to my home page, and then I started looking around to see if I could find my old drawing app’s name and see if I could update it from there, it was not on the App Store anymore, so I came across this app, watched three of it’s demonstration videos, and so I deleted my SketchBook Xpress app good bye, and gave this new app a try, and... it actually works better than the ol’ SBX app did once, and I’m already getting the hang of using this new drawing app, I feel like I have much better control on the Autodesk Sketchbook app than I did the SketchBook Xpress app, so I like this one now, I’m still learning how to use it, but I know I’m to love this new drawing app from this day forward.
Could use some improvements

As a hobby artist, this app is great for my doodling and sketching needs. It’s fairly intuitive and I love the variety of brushes with the option of customization for endless types of brushes. I also really appreciate the Copic brushes and colors because I’ve always loved the color selection of copies but have never been able to afford them. I do have some suggestions and bugs though. I seem to be unable to rotate my phone and get the canvas to rotate, which is rather annoying. I checked that my rotation lock was off, but it wouldn’t flip. Another issue I have is with the brush library. I tried multiple times to move my favorite brushes from different sets into “basics”, which is quickest to access, but sometimes, it randomly deletes brushes and I don’t know why. It’s really quite frustrating because I have to go into preferences and reset my brush library every time it happens. I’d like to be able to create my own custom library sections to store my favorite brushes, or simply add a “favorite” button and copy any brushes that I tag as my favorite to a section that resides at the top of the library. All in all, it’s a good app and I’ll definitely keep using it, but I could be made more intuitive and easy to use. Also, huge thanks and kudos for making this app free, I really appreciate it when good tech is available for free.
Very intuitive BUT...
by SpiritHope on 2017/07/30 19:35
I recently purchased and iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to use for sketching ideas for painting and to display reference photos while painting. I purchased the top 5 sketchbook apps and have given them a try, Autodesk is my favorite so far and here's why: The interface when you are sketching is very intuitive, especially if you've ever used a Wacom tablet before. It's easy and simple to adjust your brush settings mid-sketch. I was happy with my first sketch experience before purchasing the Pro version but I will say after purchasing it, you do get quite a lot of neat tools. Overall, creating in this app is a breeze and so much fun, I love it! The BUT: The "Gallery" interface where the sketches are stored needs to be improved, the menus and navigations don't make sense and I find myself getting frustrated. My only other gripe is that you cannot use the multiple app feature while in this program. In most of the other sketchbook apps you can pull up a reference picture in Safari or your a Photos and draw while viewing it, but not in this one. If they could allow fully functioning multiple app use I wouldn't have a need or want for any of the other sketchbook apps.
Love it

Okay, if your more experienced at drawing digitally, then this isn’t for you. But if your like me and your new to it,I really suggest this app. It lets you import photos and you can outline your photos, you can make speed paints, and it lets you use copics for free. If you don’t know what copics are they are alcohol based markers, great for mixing and blending. Their usually used for graphic art and other very intense art (and I mean like more than a sketch.) I’ve been using it for a few days and I just broke my cheek bone. It lets you zoom in so if your like me and you just broke your cheekbone and your half blind (which is very unlikely) then you can still make art and it doesn’t look sloppy. It never really messes up and glitches like ibis paint. You don’t need a apple pen to use this, although you could use one if you like to. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because it is a little glitchy when your sizing the photo to the size you want when you import it. I’d also like a little more copic colors, but other than that this is the best app for digital art starters. (AFTER NOTE) I’m not changing my mind on this app that’s it’s not great, but I’d love a few more presets for pages. Thank you for reading, I may make more notes so don’t think this is the last (Unless if I forget)!
Great App, with one Autodesk Flaw
by DasReichKaiser on 2017/11/17 14:48
Due to being a former CAD tech, I can tell anyone that the only features this needs, are a sizable grid, ortho type lock (straight lines), and the ability to use a basic coordinate center 0,0.. with built in scale reference object that can be turned on like the ruler, but, possibly two of them, meaning updating the ruler so a straight 90° degree angle for example can easily be made, with a basic scaling ability... and this app fills the gap for CAD techs like myself who worked on planning stage as well as the actual engineering plans (land desktop with civil), for your architect type drawings, to compliment or replace Illustrator/Photoshop.. But, yes, for architect type drawings, the lines producing a shadow if you cut and paste a layer makes the app not easily usable for production drawings unless you dont mind taking a lot longer and redrawing everything when you need to adjust/move something. Asides from these basic additions, and adjustment to how shadows/shading/blending is done automatically on line work, this app is wonderful. I need a razor sharp line, and spend a lot of eraser time if I use the tools built in to say draw a square because zoom in, you will see two/three colors of blended shading. So, now, the paint bucket does not work correctly in those areas.
I have a problem, PLEASE HELP!
by alpacaJin9 on 2019/10/12 06:37
Dear Autodesk Sketchbook developers, I used this app a few months ago, and I had a few nice sketches and drawings that were in my gallery. I really enjoyed it and all the features were easily accessible, making drawing a great experience. The thing is, I never saved the drawings, exported them, shared, etc. They were all on my phone and vulnerable. So, I hadn’t touched the app until recently, when I realized there was a new update. But I had a problem with my Apple ID ( I have an iPhone), and I could not access the app without updating ( which was something I couldn’t do!). In the end, my only choice was to delete and reinstall using a different ID, but all my drawings were gone, sadly. I never had the chance to save them. So is there anything you can do to help me retrieve my sketches, like a backup software or something else. I honestly thought that my drawings would be linked to my account and saved, but it was not. Is this a lost cause, or is there anyway you can help me? Thank you for reading, and I really hope you can help me find a solution to my problem. Sincerely, Concerned user
Got a glitch here! But great app
by Bluble witch saga 2 on 2018/08/02 21:29
Sketchbook is a really good app but I’ve been introduced to some glitches. While I was trying to get everything set up I always put the main layer all the way on top of coloring and stuff like that from a scanned sketch. While I was doing that I wanted to change the background layer to a color, and once I inserted the color it didn’t show up it was just an original color (white), I didn’t mind it but then I started putting color into the sketch (from a different layer below the main sketch)but then the colors weren’t showing up and when I looked at the layers they were there(I wanted to see the layers). At first I thought I did something that made it glitch so I restarted the app but the same things happened but then I did some experimenting and went to main layer and colored it, even thought I don’t do it I wanted to see what was wrong or try to fix it to see if anything was wrong, the weird is that the colors didn’t go on top of the sketch but instead the were below the main sketch I was so confused so I wanted to write these glitches. (SHORT NOTICE: I checked everything in the layers but there nothing that proved that it was my fault)

Best Art app out there!
by Akmomma25 on 2019/08/04 22:41
I have been looking for a good artistic app for a very long time, one that has a great selection of brushes and tools, and one that will let you use more than one layer, because most of the art apps I’ve gotten have only let you use up to three layers, and that gets pretty annoying. This app is exactly what I have been looking for. The detail is really good for being digital, and finally being able to have more than one section of tools really excites me. It is also a lot easier to use than most other art apps I’ve gotten. One thing I don’t understand is why you have to sign up. I’ve signed up to this app before because it gave me a free trial for a couple of days, and I loved it. Now I have been using this app for over a year and it is wanting me to sign up again. I’m a little wary of this, because I don’t know if it will randomly make me sign in to access my drawings, or just to use the app. So far I’ve been good. Thank you for making this wonderful app free!!
Incredible
by b_mcintyre on 2019/12/28 13:54
I cannot believe how much is packed into this free app! With a full color spectrum (or copic marker colors) and the insanely large library of brushes, there is no limit to the types of 2D art one can create in this app..the marks left by each tool are so realistic/detailed, it will feel like youre working in your favorite medium IRL and not on your phone/tablet. My only complaint (and why i am giving only 4 stars) is with the interface itself. It is awkward and slow to change brushes or colors, and the “undo” button requires two steps to get to. There is a one step undo in the bottom left but it almost never works, seemingly only undoing a stroke when accidentally touched. All types of transformation (select, copy, cut, paste, transform, duplicate, etc) are found buried; worse, theyre not all even together, with some in layers and others in page layout (also where you’ll find Fill, which makes more sense with brushes no?) I do wish the UX were considered more, model off of an existing structure/format that has proven the test of time. Sure, alter it to fit the sketchbook aesthetic but no need to reinvent the wheel!
Please add keyboard shortcuts for iPad Pro!!!
by Cypress26 on 2019/04/06 06:19
I love using Sketchbook on my new iPad Pro (late 2018 version) - There’s a decent amount of brushes available and I haven’t had a drawing yet where I’ve reached my limit in layers. Some of the tools available are incredible helpful for some graphic design elements. I do wish there were a few more effects brushes added so I could try more new things with my artwork, but I can’t really complain considering all you get in one free package. One thing I can’t stress enough, though: this app needs keyboard shortcuts support for any keyboards compatible with the iPad. I have the most recent iPad and the Apple brand soft folio keyboard to go with it, but I am unable to use familiar keyboard shortcuts like Command+C to copy or Command+V to paste. Adding these shortcuts would save me and any other artists with a keyboard loads of time, which can be important when you’re on a deadline or just trying to get into the flow of a new drawing. Other than those two minors tweaks, I love this app and everything I’ve done with it so far. I can’t wait to see what else I’m able to create with it!
I love this but one problem...
by MelissaBeth27 on 2017/08/20 03:50
Everything works perfectly and I love how easy it is to control and the smooth drawing but there's only two things wrong, every time I double tap in the corner to undo it it draws on my drawing and I have to zoom out to make sure I don't mess it up. One more thing, once I create my picture and when I go to color it in, can you add a fill bucket? Because I have spent over 4 hours trying to color that SMALL picture without messing anything up, in corners I've gotta lower the size of the brush then when there's a big open space Instead of spending another 30 mins or so I have to turn it up and again and then back down, I mess up I have to do the redo button and then it messes it up more. So what I'm suggesting, can you please add the undo and redo button to the top with the other buttons and then add a fill bucket? It would be greatly appreciated, it's not much to ask but I can deal the undo and redo button but I can not be spending 3-5 hours trying to color in my whole painting when I can paint it in just a tap of a button. Thank you.
Very powerful (+ some ideas for stuff)
by jxn / JBoozer on 2019/11/28 15:11
I absolutely love this app. In my opinion, it's the most organized and powerful drawing app on the App Store currently. There's so many possibilities added as of now that exceed what any other app has in the best way possible, and I appreciate that. However, I do feel that it's missing a small handful of things that some other iOS apps actually do have. People might actually need these for certain sketches, but that could be prejudiced or biased, as this is what I've personally needed for some sketches. Here's the things I'd thought of: • Importing custom fonts for use in the text tool, presumably .ttf and .otf files. • Adding effects to images, text, and other pre-existing layers. (i.e., glow, stroke, blur, drop shadow, etc.) • More available locations to import photos as a layer, like iCloud Drive. • The ability to snap-align photos and text to the center of both axes, for accuracy purposes. That's what I think should be added, but they're all just my thoughts. It would be nice if you took at least some of them into consideration. I also noticed that the option to import photos from the sharing module stopped appearing. I assume that it must've been removed. If you could re-add that, that'd be nice, as I found it quite efficient and never had any problems with it. Overall though, Sketchbook is truly a wonderful app. I thank you so much for doing a great job with this, and I hope to continue seeing this app prosper.
Love it! But there’s a glitch.
by My Name Was Snatched on 2019/09/02 22:10
I enjoy the app a lot, honestly. It’s free, simple, and helpful. But there’s a bug that really irritates me, mainly because you can only get rid of it by downloading and redownloading the app, and the process of doing so can be extremely annoying and tiring. The glitch? Basically at random points in time, even after it’s been only 2 days since redownloading again, I’ll be coloring or doing linework, and the same color will look like it’s on another layer, despite it all being on one layer. It can seem minor, but it can be super distracting when it comes to the final product of the art, and makes the whole thing look messy. I have friends I asked about this, and they say they’ve had the same problem, and the only solution I’ve discovered is redownloading over and over again, frequently. I’d really hate to let this go, since I’ve tried other art platforms like MediBang, which proved to be super laggy and a generally useless and unintuitive platform. Other than that, I enjoy the app and would recommend to anyone.
THE GREATEST APP EVER!!
by ShinigamiQueen on 2018/04/03 15:14
Sketchbook is my favorite app by far out of all apps, not only digital art apps! It has so many amazing brushes and tools, not only that but it is so easy to use and easy to catch on. Normally digital art apps are set up like photoshop or illustrator but this one is different but still super professional. I love this app so much! I also bought the extra tools for $0.99, I’m so glad I did, it’s so cheap and it’s not monthly or yearly payments, that 99 cents buys it all and it amazes me how much so little can provide! I recommend this app to anyone I can. I am a 16 year old girl who goes to an art school and focuses on visual arts so I am trying to start an art career and expand my skill set by moving to digital art, I’ve gone through so many apps and I even have Procreate but I like Sketchbook much better. Only thing I would recommend to add to an already perfect app would be even more brushes, perhaps hair brushes, splatter brushes, and industrial brushes for grunge or cracked looks.

when u make a wallpaper on sketchbook then u save it for some reason it’s slightly off it don’t fit the iPhone X screen correctly.....the reason I know this l...is because I like to take a screenshot of my home screen with apps on it and then move all my app off the first page and it looks like you have apps there but it’s really just the screensaver but I can’t do that now....because wen I use sketchbook save because I do like to add stuff to the screenshot....I save it and wen i apply as home screen....the apps don’t line up and on the top right corner u can see a thin white line seeing that it’s not flush with the screen of the iPhone X.....and yes I know about the motion turning that off or on that’s not the reason it’s not lined up did it both ways this is the only app that does it.....but this is the only app I use to add to my screenshot I take to make my home screen wallpapers....please fix this....can make a wallpaper without it because don’t....willing to send proof of what I’m talking bout if necessary....I just need this little fix
Really great, but important glitch
by GalexyWolf13 on 2019/08/04 15:55
I really love this app because I’ve been working on it for over a year and it’s never failed me. I love the whole category of tools that you can choose from to customize. I also really appreciate that the layers are easy to access, unlike the app I was originally using. I haven’t run into a glitch since a few days ago, and I keeps messing me up. I have an over 40 layer detailed sketch I made to work on light, and it kept on crashing. I went back in (I only had about 7 layers at the time) and it had deleted parts of my line art. I went on for an hour or two and nothing happened, until it crashed again and it had deleted part of a different layer of line art (I was closer to 40 now). After that, even if I saved it, it would crash and delete part of a layer. Now it’s deleted a whole layer of coloring, a layer of line art, and part of a layer of my background. This may not be a glitch, just a problem with my storage, but I’m curious to why this is happening. Thanks!
Glitch
by pleaseread1234 on 2018/12/28 09:33
The app is very great! I’ve been using it for about three years though there’s been a glitch that has recently been happening, whenever I’m done doing a drawing, I exit out and see that the drawing I was making shows a previous look of my drawing, I thought it was just a bug that made it look something that was done already, I clicked shared and saved image but I checked the image and it showed the previous version of the drawing, I was confused why it wasn’t showing my drawing that was fully done. I know I may not be explaining this right, for example I was making this drawing and I never exited out until I was finished, once I was finished I saw that the drawing wasn’t the exact same finish, it showed part of the process of the drawing but not the finished, then I saved the image and the image didn’t save the finish, only the part of the process. Hopefully I explained that ok? Anyways you guys keep doing what you’re doing!
Love this app but it does have some glitches😕
by dreamyllv on 2019/01/18 19:44
I lovvve this app! However, I’ve been using this app for only less than a month, and I’ve already experienced some pretty irritating glitches. 1) Something happens with the eraser and the app just randomly decides what lines your allowed to erase and what your not erasing. Like if you left that line alone for a bit, when you go back to clean it up it won’t let me. In general too it just won’t let me erase certain lines... I’m flattered but no. I’ve had to change my tool and use white to do it which works but is more time consuming and pointless when it can just be fixed. Also if I want to save my drawing and come back to it later, I can no longer erase anything that I saved previously - annoying. 2) Now because of this eraser issue when I had to get off my iPad for a little, I left my app open while I shut the screen. When I came back my drawing was only partially done. All the work I had done between a time and the time I had to leave my iPad, was erased. ☹️ Good thing I took a screen shot before I left, but having to cut and paste it back into the app...annoying. 3) It’s been freezing up mid-draw... also annoying. It freezes for about ten seconds. Not that long but sometimes when you really into whatever your drawing it gets frustrating! Lol. Also the ruler is slow reacting. I don’t mind but figured I’d let the developers know. When it’s fixed I’ll come back and write a 5 star review🤩
Great but a couple little problems.
by iScottyjD on 2018/04/16 22:48
I feel like this app is great, and although I’m not a very great artist it still so easy to use and very noob friendly however I do still have a few problems. The first would be the lower back or forwards buttons; it’s just hard to hit those lower corners with those buttons there. I see the convenience in that position but I think the buttons are fine on the tool bar. My other problem is a little bigger than just a button position. On every different sketch I do there is always some place on the “paper” where it just doesn’t work. I can draw anything in that region and nothing will show up, I don’t even if it’s a software glitch or what but, I do know that it’s not on my end because I literally just got a new iPad. So a fix would be great! Overall the app is great, just those little tweaks and its a 5 star app. I hope that you read this comment and get to work on those tweaks, thx!
Download at your own risk
by good game but ..... on 2019/08/16 12:11
So all I can say is I love sketch book auto but then you’re probably think why do I have such a bad rating the answer is simple I spent multiple hours drawing something and I was going to be my best work yet but then out of the blue sketch book auto just stops working it’s not a lag or anything then I get a pop up saying something went wrong and I have to save any unsaved work so I start saving and then sketch book just stops working agin closes the whole program and doesn’t work no matter what I do I can’t even close the app !!! So I teen my computer off and just wait for almost the whole next day when it still doesn’t work so I shut down my computer and do Force close the app and lose hours of hard work this went one to happen a few more times but I continued to use SketchBook simply because there was no better option in my opinion please sketchbook figure out how to fix this and have a better auto save or something I don’t like this review but I need people to know what there getting in to do for any one reading this download app at you’re I own risk
Sooo awesome!
by Dame Angmar of the Iron Legion on 2019/06/28 19:19
I always keep seeing these awesome computer-animated artwork which I could never do myself on paper (and if I tried it never looked as good as I imagined it to) so I basically gave up trying until I found this app. It’s so easy to use and I love it! Being able to use multiple types of brushes and blend things together has made my life so much easier when I want to draw things in a specific style I can’t do on actual paper. I would suggest this app to anyone... other apps just seem so complicated, glitchy, or even not complicated enough! With Autodesk Sketchbook I can do pretty much exactly what I need to do no problem. However, I do have a suggestion: Is it possible to adjust the dimensions of the canvas? I also like to design forum signatures and profile images, but I just can’t get the shape right because it’s always a rectangle (starts out with W 2000 and H 1500). And when I resize it, it always adjusts the size but not the overall shape. My signatures always require more width than is available, and my profile images a more square shape, otherwise they do not fit right (if at all). It’s just the shape I’d like to adjust... not the size. I can resize images separately. Could you guys add this? I’m sure it would help out with the drawing experience of more than a few users. Having the same shape of canvas just gets boring after a while lol. Thank you so much for the great app!
Great app, sad upgrade
by Alex Heizer on 2018/04/07 04:28
I love the app. So much that I bought the Pro version 2.x! However, when iOS updated to 11, Pro 2.x no longer worked and I read a lot of people completely lost their work. Thankfully, I always sent my saved files to iCloud and was able to reimport once I upgraded. Unfortunately, even though I paid for the Pro version, I had to pay again, despite the fact it was because iOS upgraded, not because I wanted to. But all software makes you pay for upgrades, so that’s how it is. The big issue is that so many people lost their work because of the upgrade. This is because of two reasons: There was no warning; and the new version didn’t access the previous version’s existing data. 1) There should have been warnings all over the place that you WILL lose ALL of your previous work if you upgrade. This is the developer’s fault. 2) The upgraded app should have automatically just used the same folder as the old version. Easy peasy. This is also the developer’s fault. Fortunately, if you sent your files to iCloud, you can copy them to Dropbox, rename the extension from .skb to .psd and import them from Dropbox. iCloud won’t let you rename the extension, but Dropbox will. It’s a bit of a hassle, but the above two issues are the reason I dropped my 5-star rating down to 3. It’s the best painting app out there, despite having bonehead devs.
Amazing!
by Pixelle__ on 2019/06/25 00:14
This app is amazing! There are so many options and brushes to choose from! It’s easy to use and really fun! The options like predictive stroke, symmetry, guides (and all the others) are great. I can draw, make edits, and make mini animations with it If anything, the only thing I would suggest is having a option to put in a grid so you know where the middle of the canvas is. That would be very helpful. Also, where can pick a color for the layers, I wish there was more colors but it’s fine the way it is. The only problem I ever had was when I started a recording for a speed paint, when I was finished with it, it didn’t save and deleted the recording it’s self. But over all, i totally recommend, Edit: I just encountered a new problem. I would do a drawing and save it to the camera roll but in photos it wouldn’t save the finished thing. Idk if it’s because I have to many drawing but I still love the app
The ONLY sketch app you need
by J. Enjo on 2019/11/10 09:00
This has truly been the greatest sketch/drawing/design app I’ve had. Downloaded a LOT of apps and slowly but surely I deleted Concepts, Paper, etc. because this app outperformed them and with a cleaner interface. I even use this as a photoshop/image editing (light of course) app and gets the job done insanely good and considering the latest photoshop release, this app currently beats it in its own game as well. I’ve sketched, designed, image edited on this and it’s so intuitive and so many features you find new ones even after using it for a long time. In conclusion this is a VERY well polished app, and it’s FREE. It’s mind blowing, I’m so thankful this has helped bring so many ideas to life, from product design, car design, sketching, etc.. Big thanks to the developers!! Hopeful features: In Text, would be great to have color picker to change letter color and also higher quality/resolution text.
BEST EVER

Mk so when I saw the video for this app I KNEW it wasn’t gonna be as good as it says, and since I had been using Drawing Desk at the time I thought you would have to pay for all the luxuries that "come" with the app like you have to in Drawing Desk (btw SO do not recommend that app). But I decided to still give SketchBook a try, and I am TELLING YOU this is the best free drawing app. I can’t say it’s the best in the world cuz there’s still REALLY GOOD ones like Procreate. ( My only problem with Procreate is that it costs money but if you’re looking for a non free, super LEGIT, everything you could ask for, fancy drawing app I would recommend that one) (oops I got off subject). ANYWAY I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app and would never delete it. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS!! You have every tool imaginable every color and it comes with an automatic camera thing that records the drawing being made!! SO MAKE SURE TO HIT THAT GET BUTTON! 😉 YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT 😄
not rly good

So i wanted to use a new drawing software for my tablet and i thought, *oh this app is good!* and it was at firrst.. the drawing and sketch part was good but when i wanted to color u cud only use 2 layers and i was like “thats kinda bs but whatever” and i always use more then 2 layers i use like 11 but 2 was good for a basic cartoony character. so i tried again to do more then 2 layers but then k realized u have to pay which os sorry, retarded. so when i was coloring the hair like always, i had tk be aft (away from tablet) real quick, then i came back and colored the hair and some of the hair i disnt get earlier and it made a darker color. it looked like when you had ur opacity to 80 and colored on top on the same thing. then i was like ”ok ill just erase it and color again, might be a glitch.” and it wasnt i did and it looked really badder so i erased it and i went back to the old dark brown in the middls of the hair look. and then i forgot you cant add more layers u have to pay for it which is stupid. i wanted to add a background but i couldnt CUZ U CANT ADD ANOTHER BACKGROUND. i wouldnt download this app its ok if u wanted to but ok.
Cool, but Confusing

I haven’t really used it much, but so far, it’s really great for drawing and stuff. I drew a decent amount on it so when I got a new iPad, I got the app and started drawing a bit. I was out of town when I got it and I couldn’t remember what my password was so I decided to wait to get home to sign in, but after I signed in I didn’t see any of my drawings I had drawn on my old iPad. I found my old iPad that has my drawings and everything and I’ve tried to find a way to get the drawings onto my new iPad, but I still don’t know how. As I was looking for a solution, I found that my new iPad has both Local Storage and iCloud Storage, but my old iPad only has Local Storage so I checked if they were somehow different accounts and if they both have the most recent update, but everything seemed all right. It’s hard to tell if I’m missing something or not, but so far that’s the only flaw I’ve found. (Sorry, I don’t really know how to end something like this...)
Crashing issues
by Aimlessburd on 2017/08/30 00:57
Hi autodesk team, I am a long time user of the sketchbook app! I had it on my note 5, iPhone 6, 7, and iPad Pro. Recently I have been dealing with consistent crashing issues, I'll set the scene for you. I paste a picture using the import from gallery icon, then I accept it after I have resized it, I then go to change my utensils color from red to black. I click on the floating pill shaped icon and bring up the color wheel. I select the color and then I tap outside the color selection pop up. The app takes a second and then force closes. I really enjoy being able to draw on my tablet and I further enjoy being able to use autodesk, I am also familiar with the cad program that is also offered from autodesk. So being able to continue to diversify myself with more and more autodesk programs is enjoyable. Since my crashing issue I have resorted to using other illustration apps. I have a paid sketchbook app and this issue is really turning me off from this app. So please help me resolve this issue!
A love, lost..
by Mrs.B3nit3z on 2018/01/06 03:17
I loved this app... not so much recently. I use it almost daily on my iPad Pro. I like to save the biggest files I can, for the resolution. But recently... I have to save 8 times before the first attempt actually goes through. When it finally does go through it save like 3 times. Honestly I could live with that IF, IF it saved with the transparent background like I wanted it to, but it always has a white background. That is probably the most frustrating part. I had no issues in the past. It didn’t matter the size, small, medium and large files would save and send no problem. Now to top it off in a last effort to salvage the love I had for this app, I deleted it and reinstalled to see if it would solve the problem... but sadly it didn’t, and I lost all of my files. I’m trying to keep this as clean as possible but I’m mad to say the least...
What happened to the first Sketchbook Mobile? Buy It Anyway!
by Gaby_2009 on 2018/01/08 03:02
Instead of giving us an update for the original Sketchbook they come up with a new one and the original completely disappears from app store. For those who already have the original Sketchbook, why pay again for some features the new one is giving? With the original Sketchbook I can create layers (up to 18 layers), I can time-lapse record, it has brushes (and I can create my own too), and it has the fill bucket. And I don't have to create an account neither. So why pay again? The original Sketchbook should have stayed in the app store. And we should have gotten an update giving us in-app purchase to be able to have some features of the new one if wanted to spend money for those new features or look. Or a discount for the new Sketchbook Pro for those who already have the original Sketchbook. By making the original Sketchbook disappears from the app store is only forcing us to get the new Sketchbook. If you delete the original Sketchbook, it is gone forever. Buy the new Sketchbook and unlock full access ($3.99) if you don't have the original Sketchbook. If you have the original, keep it and never delete it because you don't need the new Sketchbook. Second thought.... Buy It Anyway! You won’t regret it. Best drawing app!!!!
Why do I need internet
by Tadd777888940 on 2018/06/23 16:53
I am currently on a long road trip with my family, and since I am not driving, I was going to enjoy a bit of drawing using this app. The app itself is fantastic, the brushes are great, the layout is intuitive, etc., however I couldn’t access any of my stuff because there is not INTERNET. I do not understand why INTERNET is needed to draw. I’ve never had this problem before, and frankly it’s ridiculous. I know the app is now completely free, but i didn’t originally pay 5 DOLLARS for me not to be able to use it whilst traveling!! I can’t even look at my gallery! Why do I need INTERNET to use a DRAWING APP?? It’s NOT social media! I know that there are new “sketchbook subscriptions” but you don’t need to DISABLE THE WHOLE APP because I don’t have internet! Please allow us, the users, to be able to at least enjoy the app wherever we are! What if I want to visit a cafe and doodle a bit?? Then I can’t use this app and then it’s useless. I hope that wasnt a huge mouthful. Many thanks—
Absolutely THE Best
by IPhone-All-the-Way on 2018/12/08 00:07
I have tried many different sketch and drawing apps, and each had its pros and cons. This one has all (almost all) the features I could ask for, and offers them in a VERY user friendly package, relatively speaking. If you want minute customization options, the ability to fine tune every brush, and you want to be able to stack many layers from all kinds of sources, you should not expect it to be as simple as the old school Windows Paint program! So be prepared to explore and try things in order to learn what is possible (this goes for any good technology by the way). I absolutely love the app and I have produced some artwork I never would have thought I am capable of, so THANK YOU to the creators, and thanks for continuing to make it better. The above being said, I have only one ask and hopefully this reaches the right set of eyes: Please integrate the “double tap” feature for the new Apple Pencil, and if you could make the assignment of that “button” customizable I would be 100% satisfied (similar to the double tap buttons for the corners of the screen). 5 Stars for the effort and the product so far ladies and gents. But I am 95% satisfied, this last 5% I am sure your will come thru on, sooner rather than later I hope! Thanks again, An Artist Re-imagined
It is at least a 4 star but...
by Dari Negron on 2019/11/20 21:28
I've been using this app on my phone for years and it has always been working fine, but it is until this year that something weird has been going on. Every now and then an album would multiply and make from 1 to 5 copies. It would do this on its own and every time I would try to delete the copies (since it takes so much space and it is quite unnecessary to have so many) it would delete the original album as well, EVEN THOUGH I would start by choosing ONE of the copies to delete. Problem is, I go to trash to recover all those drawings and they don’t even appear there, then WORSE problem is, I go to my files and the drawings are not even there? I even check the ‘Recently Deleted’ section of the files and they are not there either... it’s as if they never existed. I like this app, I like its features and it’s always been one of my favorites, but it’s come to the point where I don’t feel safe drawing there anymore because a lot of my work is getting deleted.
Not beginner friendly-Gallery could be more efficient.
by Lem from Louisville on 2018/10/14 17:05
This is written is a state of frustration, so the rating might go up later, but as a new user who is used to Corel, Inkscape, Photoshop etc, my short time with the app has been very frustrating. The gallery makes no sense at all. I wish the app would open to a sane gallery layout, first, and not the convoluted way you have to get to the gallery after opening the app. Also, sometimes the context menu doesn’t come up for certain layers. I cannot get layers to clear, delete or find out why this happens in any Help forums. I finally ended up uninstalling/reinstalling to try to get back to doing art. Again, this is from a frustrated new iPad Pro user, so I know some of it is a ‘’Me’’ issue. I want to like Sketchbook due to the oval utility which I use a lot, but the aforementioned issues are really putting a damper on the learning process. Hopefully that will change with time. Thank you for listening to my concerns.
Awesome drawing and painting app! Although...
by Bacteria 2000 on 2018/12/26 15:00
This app is an absolute colossal of flexibility. The interface’s simplicity allows me to get around and use tools and other amenities quickly and efficiently. Not to mention the broad range of brushes and pencils and all, it is overall a very good app in maximizing the potential of artists with it’s selection of tools and sorts. Painting and drawing has never been any easier with this wonderful app! Although, despite the very good things that come with this app, there are a few drawbacks that I would like to list out as an agenda. -There is no tool for cutting and moving certain parts of the drawing, (and yes I’m aware that there IS this tool that does the described feature.) it isn’t emphasized and is hard to operate in the separate section from the sorts of tools and does not even move CERTAIN parts of the drawing. The ‘Lasso’ tool isn’t even any help, as all I could ever understand of using is it is merely nothing. -The ‘undo’ button when you hide the interface, at the corner of the screen fails to do it’s purpose. I make a bigger mess when trying to press it instead of undoing mishaps in the drawing. Okay this isn’t actually that big of a list for an agenda, but you get my point I’m trying to prove. This app is great though and I would totally recommend it to anyone who is on the outset of their art journey.
This is a wonderful app
by ray the maniac🤘🏻🌟 on 2019/07/25 16:24
I absolutely love this drawing app. I actually started with adobe But ended up finding autodesk sketchbook not too long ago. I was told it was a wonderful company and plus the app is FREE! So I downloaded it. I love the time lapse feature. I like how it sees me zooming in and moving around the Canvas but I wish I could change the speed because when I move around it sometimes it looks very cluttered and jumpy especially when I zoom in and out but otherwise the app is great. The blending tool is a little hard to figure out at first but after a little practice it’s pretty good. I love the app and it works really well there’s barely any lag unlike some other free programs and when there is it’s barely noticeable. I highly recommend this to younger artists from looking for a free, high-quality, art program.
Really great!!! 👌
by Crystal Drakon on 2018/08/07 21:47
This app is fantastic for drawing, I use it on my iPad mini with my adonit pixel stylus. This program is very responsive and great for drawings, especially with the adonit pixel (unsure of how well other styluses work). The only downside for me is the lack of clipping layers and the perspective tools, which was what I really liked about the desktop version. I also dislike the bucket tool because it’s difficult to use and is semi transparent, which is annoying. The eraser tool also doesn’t erase things completely and none of the tools are 100% opaque which might be good for emulating the feel of traditional art, but finicky for those who just want to make digital art. However the rest of the app is very nice and I absolutely adore it. Hope they add clipping layers soon though haha because it’s hard to shade things with the magic wand tool and color lines in. Overall, I’d give this app 4.5 stars out of 5
Very good! But could use one thing
by Animallover5555555555555555 on 2018/09/20 19:05
I started using this app about a week or two ago when my graphic tablet broke for my computer and I like this a lot! It’s easy to use (but a little confusing to figure out where everything is if you aren’t familiar with the particular app like me), and all the brushes are very nice and I especially like the ability to change how the brush behaves and to add textures to it. The only thing I’d want to see is the ability to group layers since apparently the mobile version doesn’t offer it? I tend to use one canvas for a bunch of little doodles and it kind of gets confusing without the ability to put all the layers I use for one drawing in a folder or something to keep everything organized. It’s not a big issue, but something I’d definitely like to see added sometime!
Fantastic App! Although..
by ls.eq on 2019/03/29 23:47
I absolutely LOVE this app. I started off doing digital art on it and I have been using it the whole time. Just today I used the computer version and here is what I hope someday is possibly added to the app, the one thing that could make it better... if like the computer version, you could add brushes. They are a life saver. As an animal artist I think it would be great to create my own or import other fur brushes and such. And also it would be nice to be able to add fonts. But as I said, being able to import brushes would be absolutely amazing. *Edit also I know nothing about making apps and such, but it would be awesome if when you log in or make an account, you could upload your work so that if you switch to a different device, all your drawings would still be there
Best Drawing App EVER!!! 🤩🤩
by ComelyAngel45 on 2018/09/17 01:20
SHORT VERSION: Would definitely recommend. It is very reliable and not laggy in my experience, also has a wide variety of tools LONG VERSION: This is the best app I have found for drawing that comes without a price. The quality is incomparable and I have experienced little to no lag. The different tools are extremely helpful in creating different effects. The only downer is that I am very new to drawing on a screen instead of a pencil and paper so some of the techniques can be quite puzzling to me. If I were able to find some kind of tutorial on how to use everything and how to get certain effects that would be EXTREMELY helpful. Overall, I would use this drawing app over several others due to the fact that they do NOT charge extra(or anything) AND is very reliable in my experience.
UPDATE AND FIX YOUR APP!!!!!!
by qせftじゅこあwdrgyじlp on 2019/01/15 13:04
I love your drawing app and is probably one of the best out. However, it has become crap. Ever since you made Sketchbook free, the app has been buggy. It is frustrating when these bugs keep occurring when you are drawing. Here are some of the bugs that keep occurring: • Sometimes when you open the app, the last drawing that you were working appears blank, but when you tap on the layer icon, it stills shows that everything is there. • Symmetry tool is very buggy: • When you tap the x-axis symmetry icon, it does the y-axis symmetry or vise versa. • When rotating the canvas while drawing, it switches to the other axis symmetry in its own. • When you exit to the gallery and then go back into the same drawing, the icons of the tools that you were using before you exited show up as if they are in use, even though they are not. This also happens when you exit out of the app and then go back into it. • Sometimes when you view all of your drawings in one of your galleries, some of the recent drawings don’t show up and are replaced with an older drawing. Yet, when you click back into the gallery, everything is back to the way it was. • The app freezes for a few seconds while drawing. • Sometimes the brushes do not work. Just because you made Sketchbook free to everyone does not mean to stop updating your app.
Love this just one thing tho
by teh lojinzez on 2019/07/22 04:14
Okay so this isn’t a problem for me anymore because I signed in, but before I would get the little things when I opened it up telling me to sign up, and they wouldn’t let me leave, but they wouldn’t let me sign in either, so I’d just be stuck there in that screen, and I tried everything and it just would not let me leave, so I would have to delete it then download it again and loose all my drawings. I was sad the first time it did that cause there was a lot of art that I was really proud of, that I lost forever and it sucked. I’m not sure if this had happened to anyone else, but it happened to me so I wrote about it. Other than that this is a really good drawing app. 5/5 would recommend, just make sure to sign up. It’s a better experience like that anyway.
As an artist I love this app
by redgothicrose1 on 2019/01/10 17:16
I’ve used this app on my windows tablet, but due to the payment process I never had full access to it. My friend and now business partner uses this on her iPad Pro and after watching all of the amazing things she could make with the full access features, I decided to download to my phone and give it another try. This is honestly my favorite art app for my phone. When I’m at conventions it’s so easy for me to make commissions and sketch up any ideas I get on the spot. I use paint tool sai and photoshop on my laptop and honestly while they have their perks, I have always struggled to achieve the cool textures and blending that I can get with this app. It’s become my new go to for drawing on the go and even when I’m sitting at home. The five dollars for full access is definitely worth it.
Decent Art App
by Tobi.Boi on 2019/06/05 20:10
This app is wonderful app for beginners to digital art. It is easy to use and understand. I’m giving it three starts because I have used this app solely for about two or three years now and it has gotten frustrating after the program lost its premium features. You can’t add any new brush sets at all on mobile (which is what I use because I don’t have the proper tools to digital art on my laptop). There is no clipping to make line art different colors instead of one solid color or looking very choppy and terrible if you do different colors. The different effects you can add on to a layer are pretty good, I do like the different brushes provided, but if someone has made a set of brushes for Sketchbook, I feel as though mobile users should be able to use them as well. On the topic of brushes, I do like the fat that you can get different line weights and different opacity with how heavy or light handed you are.
Awesome app, needs way to import brushes
by Balepi on 2018/03/18 02:15
Hello Autodesk team! I love this app, it is very awesome and has SO many great features! I just got an iPad pro for the sole reason of drawing in this app. And everything is great about it so far. However, I found lots of cool brush sets on the Sketchbook website that I downloaded, but then I realized I can’t download them into the app. I tried to find a solution online but it appears there is no way to do so. I really think this should be a feature in the iOS app because the devices it runs on are just as important to artists as others where the feature is available, and I am sure that the operating system can do it. So I request that you please add it, as this iPad app is my primary art creation tool, and I would love to experience all the Sketchbook has to offer. Thank you!
Nearly unusable
by RocketOtaku on 2018/11/15 02:44
I gave this app more than one star because I used it for years without issue and because the app being completely free, all brushes unlocked and no apps, is really cool. That being said, this app is difficult to use. Undoing and erasing involve pretty a tiny button at the bottom of the screen twice, there’s no clipping or alpha lock as far as I can tell, and it’s marginally more difficult to adjust the brush size. There’s also no fill bucket, which is unfortunate. Now, I might otherwise give this three or four stars and say it’s a great app for tweens who have just decided to make digital art, but after I spent a while cracking away at a drawing I clicked out of the app to take care of some stuff, and when I came back the canvas was black. This had already happened, except this time I was unable to fix it, and to the best of my knowledge the drawing is lost to the ages. I’m sure the devs will fix this but as of this review, the app is functionally unusable for me.

The calibration is totally off. It’s nice that you can make what color your want. When I’m trying to make a circle, it just makes an oval.

This app is so fun and easy to use and learning how to use it was easy as well. I love using this app to draw my only problem is the eraser and how I have to go over things multiple times with it. But overall great app.

by all the nicknamed where taken on 2020/01/24 02:11
I’ve Tried so many other art apps and overall, this was the worst.
Love it!

Great
by Wolfheart3424578 on 2020/01/21 20:36
This app is really cool, but it’s not very easy to use.
I have done a lot of painting and draws on it
Very helpful

I love how much I can accomplish in a short amount of time with this app. And it has many great features. The undo and redo buttons are a little difficult on iPhone though. I definitely recommend using an iPad

Amazing app, just one suggestion

It’s a great app that has great features with different drawing tools, simple and easy to use but it tends to slow down and even freezes up. And it can’t be my table that’s acting up since I just bought it and only freeze up in the app.
It’s pretty good so far🤗

by ash25897417007225review on 2020/01/19 02:21
I’m really happy with the app!!!

Could use some improvements
by ElegantParadox on 2019/01/15 05:45
As a hobby artist, this app is great for my doodling and sketching needs.

Honestly I really love this app because it is just the best.
PLEASE FIX THIS

when u make a wallpaper on sketchbook then u save it for some reason it’s slightly off it don’t fit the iPhone X screen correctly.....the reason I know this l...is because I like to take a screenshot of my home screen with apps on it and then move all my app off the first page and it looks like you have apps there but it’s really just the screensaver but I can’t do that now....because wen I use sketchbook save because I do like to add stuff to the screenshot....I save it and wen i apply as home screen....the apps don’t line up and on the top right corner u can see a thin white line seeing that it’s not flush with the screen of the iPhone X.....and yes I know about the motion turning that off or on that’s not the reason it’s not lined up did it both ways this is the only app that does it.....but this is the only app I use to add to my screenshot I take to make my home screen wallpapers....please fix this....can make a wallpaper without it because don’t....willing to send proof of what I’m talking bout if necessary....I just need this little fix

Cool, but Confusing
by samviol on 2018/12/28 01:02
I haven’t really used it much, but so far, it’s really great for drawing and stuff.

Although..
