focus keeper - Time Management
Description
focus keeper helps you keep your productivity high avoiding burnout using the timer. Work with time. Not against it! * Check out the review article by Brighthand for more detail: http://j.mp/fkeeper Here is what this app offers: • Simple, beautiful and intuitive interface. • Customize focus sessions, goals, colors and sounds. • Track your productivity with insightful charts. • Universal(iPhone/iPad) app with iCloud support. Basic Focus Steps - It’s all about focusing your work efforts in timed 25-minute chunks, with a 5-minute break in between each burst of activity. 1) Choose a task to be done. 2) Set the timer for 25 minutes. 3) Focus on the task until the timer rings 4) Take a short break (just do something relaxing for 5 minutes) 5) Once you’ve completed 4 focus sessions, take a longer break. (20~30 minutes) Features: • Adjust the timer with your fingers just like you do with real egg-timer. • Next session starts automatically when the current session ends. • Track your progress with two different charts (14 days and 30 days) • Set your daily goal (number of Focus Sessions per day) • Set how many Focus Sessions you want to finish before taking a long break(number of Focus per round) • Customize the length of Focus Session, short break, and long break. • Choose your ticking from 10 different ticking sounds and your own music library. • Choose your alarm from 14 different ring sounds. • Set any sounds separately for the short break, long break, and Focus session. • Set any colors separately for the short break, long break, and Focus session. • Receive alarm notifications even when the app is running in the background. • Today Widget for Focus Sessions • Icon Badge shows how much time you left to finish the current session in the home screen focus keeper icon when the timer is ticking. • Focus Reminder: If you're struggling to make a habit of using focus keeper, this could come in hand. You can set when you want to be notified to use focus keeper through weekdays and weekends. • Option for resetting the Focus Count at midnight automatically. Now you can set your own reset time. • Set different volume sounds for each ticking and alarm sound.

This app was very great! It kept me focused all night while studying. Although I wish there was a way that it could almost freeze your screen so you wouldn’t go on any other apps tbh!!😸😸🏒🤺🏒😸🤣🩸🤗🥵😸🤣🤣🤗🙄😉
Recent update is 😠
by plantfiend on 2021/05/03 12:46
Love using this overall, but the most recent update is frustrating. Every alarm for a work or break session pauses other audio from my phone, how annoying! Would love for this to be mended in a subsequent update.
Stole my money??
by MockArtemis5148 on 2021/05/02 07:28
So, I bought this app a while back and it immediately helped me focus more on my school work. Since the pro version was so cheap, I thought “Why not?”. This is when the problems started. I bought it, but the app said “Could not connect to App Store” after I paid for it, and never gave me the updated version. I contacted Apple 2 days later, and they also said that I had paid for it. I then contacted the app’s “support” email, and has now been over 5 days with no response. I’m not sure if I’ve been scammed or if my phone decided to have a bad day, but I felt like it was necessary to leave a review of my experience. If they actually email back and gets me what I paid for, I’ll update this review and give it 5 stars, but right now I’m feeling scammed and irritated.
Add widget
by b3hzad01 on 2021/05/02 07:00
Thank you for this fantastic app. But please add a widget for it so we can see elapsed time in lock screen. I think this is a good option. Thanks
Not easy to use
by Random Olive on 2021/04/27 21:14
In order to change many aspects of the the session you have to go into the session and half of the things you can’t even change of free.
Not the best pomodoro app - unless you want to pay
by Rach028361 on 2021/04/27 18:23
My biggest annoyance with this app is that you can only change the volume of the alarm sounds in the version you pay for and the preset volume is obnoxiously loud. My second biggest annoyance is I get a notification at 2pm every day that “it’s time to do some work!” & you can only change that if you pay.
I wish
by GoldcatGold on 2021/04/23 11:59
This is excellent. I wish more people especially university students who have a time management issue or ADD or ADHD would use this.
Apple Watch
by MadisonDoesArt on 2021/04/22 13:15
Any chance of this app going on the Apple Watch? That would just be so prefect, so I could put my phone away and out of sight.
App Ruining Glitch
by Jude B. Lynch on 2021/04/21 05:07
I have been using this app to help me focus on my school assignments but recently there’s been a big where the timer stops until you pull the app back up again. I often find myself anxiously checking the app to make sure the timer hasn’t paused.
Nice, but has flaws
by Sunny_912 on 2021/04/14 09:57
I need an app that keeps accurate 15 minute intervals. This app is nice in simplicity but the accuracy is lacking. If you start the timer at let’s say 8 am for 15 minute intervals. Over the course of a day the time will change to have the intervals be at 11:02 (instead of 11:00) etc. For some people that may still work but I need accuracy. It seems that phone calls or notifications from other apps possibly interfere with the timing. The app will also pause on its own from time to time. I did email their customer service regarding the lack of accuracy and never received a reply.
Gentle and Helpful
by Jl_Avery22 on 2021/04/12 16:25
As someone with trouble focusing, this app has been hugely helpful! The ding is gentle and not startling.
Application broke with the latest update
by Flando Blabberblaster on 2021/04/10 00:25
A recent update broke the application. Previously, if you skipped a long break, the next break was a short break. With the recent update, if you skip a long break, it will make every future break a long break until you take the long break. This is super annoying. This problem persists even after it supposedly resets for the new day.It makes no sense why they updated the app And broke its functionality, it was working fine before.
This update is terrible!!!
by sky_0502 on 2021/04/09 18:01
I have been using this app on and off for a while. It has been great in the past but this update is terrible!!! Now it kept going into long breaks!! The alarms are also not the correct sound! Please fix it!!!
Great app for Pomodoro time management
by ejose on 2021/04/07 19:41
The only thing that would make it even better is an dapple Watch app.
No dark theme yet?
by Madalenc on 2021/04/05 08:14
This review is to say the app works fine but it has no dark Theme even on the paid pro version. Hoping the devs will see this and work on that, thanks
Minor change to iOS sounds is annoying
by Eternogames on 2021/03/31 21:16
Before the most recent update (3/30/21), this app worked flawlessly. Now, when the timer sound activates, it takes over my phone's "system sound", as in, it stops anything else already playing. Previously, it was a notification-type sound that would just briefly pause and duck the volume of whatever was already playing. It's a very minor annoyance, but having to get my phone out to hit "play" on my podcast every time the Focus Keeper timer shuts it off isn't what I want to do! It actually takes away from my focus.
Great but ...
by Yasha147 on 2021/03/31 18:37
While this has been absolutely essential for helping me focus on class work and side projects, I do wish there was an Apple Watch feature instead of having to reach for my phone every time. I find that the utilization of an Apple Watch app helps in decreasing distractions by allowing the user to be distant from their phone.
Did not work properly.
by WastingTimeonApp on 2021/03/30 16:57
Did not work properly on my iPhone 6SE. Could not set number of sessions or pause/restart a running session when phone rang during a running session. Had to delete from phone.
No watch app nor complication
by Chela4026 on 2021/03/29 15:29
I like this app but I wish it had an apple watch app and complication for the haptic alarms. Had to download other app with those features.
Needs some to fix some recent mistakes
by Missash0816 on 2021/03/27 11:56
I have been using this app for years and it worked perfectly. Now however the charts are not accurate. I did at least 12 sessions yesterday and the chart is showing 1? Same problem for the last few days. Please fix this as everything else about this app is perfect but I rely on the chart feature for tracking!
Good but has problems
by Chrissums on 2021/03/25 13:14
The timer is generally good, but lately I have been having this issue with the timer stopping at 36 min in a 40 min focus session. It’s really frustrating to think that the timer is going, and then you look down, and it’s stopped. Also when the phone is horizontal, sometimes the pause and start feature by tapping the timer doesn’t work. I usually like this app, but lately it’s been annoying.
Amazing for anyone!
by Melmad12 on 2021/03/25 02:14
As someone who gets distracted very easily and procrastinates so much, this was amazing for me. I am actually writing this review during my short break. I love how the ticking noise is available to go on in the background. As much as I thought it would bother me, it really doesn’t. It helps me keep in line and focused. I like the reminds that it gives you after a break or session is over too! I have not gone pro yet but possibly in the future I would. And it’s so cheap for so much! I can’t forget how I like how you can adjust the time if you feel that you are on a streak and don’t want to stop yet. It’s amazing! I better get back to writing my English paper now haha. Great app! I recommend it for anyone of all ages!
Amazing Study Tool!!
by sdixp on 2021/03/24 23:09
I downloaded this after being told that I needed to take breaks when doing homework or studying. This has been such a life saver and a brain saver for sure! It helps remind me to take breaks while studying and saves me from quick burnout! Highly suggest to anyone in school- no matter the level! I’m in professional school and it has done wonders for me
So close to perfect
by cski15 on 2021/03/24 15:03
I absolutely love this app and it has been tremendously helpful at keeping me focused during monotonous tasks at work and school. My one issue it that I upgraded the app to link my music without realizing that it only connects to Apple Music. I would love if I could have my Spotify music connected during my focus time. Overall a simple app with great results
Daily reset is buggy
by NeoIsot on 2021/03/23 17:15
The app is useful, but the daily reset fails (even after I confirm that I want to reset). This is annoying - the whole point of using this app is for tracking my daily productivity. At least provide a manual reset option.
Grad school time management
by Jam rocking on 2021/03/21 17:37
Along with outlook and paper agenda, this app assists with incremental learning. I think it’s excellent.
I Love this App
by 🐶🥳🤡 on 2021/03/20 17:06
Let me reset manually instead of only at different times of day on the hour. Ive bought the pro version, but im tired of deleting and reloading this app when my objectives change midday
Cuts out too easily
by conguirk on 2021/03/20 15:44
I use the app daily to measure time with exercise and tasks. What is VERY frustrating is that the timer pauses if another app: music, podcasts, whatever, is used, which kills the whole purpose of the app. It should keep going in the background, like podcasts and music, and pause only when the app is re-opened and pause is selected.
ADD Approved
by Alexsmith1989 on 2021/03/17 05:15
I’m also someone who suffers with ADD and this app helps me not to over-exert myself and, more importantly, motivates me to want to get back to my work.

Very helpful when things are crazy
by 321stuff on 2021/03/10 19:34
It’s super helpful to have an app narrow your focus for 25 minutes plus a 5 minute break
Helpful
by Redhilz on 2021/03/09 19:40
I’ve found it very helpful. I haven’t used the music yet but the sounds and visual reminder that it’s work time have increased my productivity. If it’s relevant, I also have ADHD. Sounds like this app is a specific help to folks like us.
A Must
by jcab367 on 2021/03/09 19:19
After so many back and knee injuries this is truly a gem. Helps me stay focused and at the same time healthy - I get up, stretch etc.
Great Study Tool
by Mariah McVicker on 2021/03/08 21:51
This app is one of the greatest study tools that I have used throughout nursing school! It will help you avoid burn out for when studying for hours every day.
It is a great tool.
by Phillophia on 2021/03/08 19:09
I love how it is free and really helps me not feel stressed with a strict schedule but defiantly helps keep me on track. Thanks to whoever made this app.
Unable to reset, no customer service
by Mimi_GH on 2021/03/07 23:30
I have the pro version but unable to reset/ start a new session . I’ve sent an email, message on Facebook etc but NO response from customer service. It’s a good app but keep in mind , you can’t start a new session when you want to . Also. I paid for this on my iPad, yet it wants me to pay again for my iPhone.
ADHD life saver
by Syllybean on 2021/03/07 03:16
Are your projects ever so big you don’t know where to start? Or do you struggle to see the trees from the forest when you get too interested in something? I admit this is the first app of time cycling I have tried so I don’t have experience with competitors but this app has been a lifesaver. Making sure I have planned breaks helps me stop going even if I really want to continue. This avoids me wasting time when I get lost in the trees and not seeing the forest. The 5 min breaks are also nice. They save me from taking a break to do something and never getting back on task because one thing leads to another. Thanks for developing a tool that is so simple but at the same time so valuable. This gives me structure in a sea of unending curiosity and saves me from just jumping from one thing to the next. I agree with others that in a further iteration of the app it would be wonderful to label focus sessions. Linking to a calendar or even a graph to get visual representation of time spent would also be an awesome features.

Basically in line with what everyone else has said: awesome tool for time management if your are an adult with ADHD!
Simple, and useful
by SilvaJ.I on 2021/03/05 12:53
The only reason that I give it a full five stars, is because it is perfect as is. There is no customization for certain tasks, no settings for optimizing the miniscule adjustments that others may possess in their software. This is simply simple, and it provides a powerful tool for your productivity, even with a clean and elegant interface. I adore the app. It's helped in my studies, and I swear by the Pomodoro timing method. Great app!!
Saved me in remote work

Best Pomo for writers!
by BeckyDReader on 2021/03/03 22:08
I love this timer. As an author with lots of deadlines, this keeps me and my word count on track. I use the free version, mainly because I haven’t found a need for any of the other bells and whistles. The free version for me is super effective. I turn the ticking timer down super low, just loud enough to hear it, and that works well to keep me chugging along.

by Joe9020 on 2021/03/03 18:24
Great app. Easy to use with a lot of great function. Only thing that would make the app better for me is if it offered the ability to use Spotify or other music streaming services for the focus ticking.

I don’t know if I have ADD but definitely had a hard time focusing! I’m so close to graduating from my college and I didn’t want to fail any classes and having to retake. I actually only just got this but it seems to help me start improving my focus! If you do have ADD or just focus issues this is the perfect app for you! I especially love that it has a reminder notification for every week to remind you to use it.
GET IT
by lin10D24 on 2021/02/28 17:40
My therapist recommended a Pomodoro Timer to help my ADD. I had to use a few apps before I found one that fit well. I love this app! It helps me stay focused on the task I need to complete. I’ve completed chores I’ve put off for months. Hearing the timer helps my brain stay on track. It’s also given me a realistic idea of how much time it really takes to complete something which has eliminated the feeling of overwhelm before I start something. I also look forward to the breaks! The only issue I have is I wish you could Label the task you’re working on to look back on what you’ve completed. This may be possible with the paid version however I use the free.
Healthier work habits!
by mweltermn on 2021/02/27 20:54
My job requires LOTS of sitting and screens. Since COVID, my work days are 12-14 hours 6-days/week. Focus keeper had been invaluable in cuing me to stand and walk around. That little chime also reminds me to get off a screen - even if it’s for 5 min! It’s also pretty great for focus and productivity!

I wish this app could connect to Pandora so during focus sessions for study I can play classical and for focus sessions for cleaning I can play Top Hits. I hate that it only connects to my music.
Great way to stay focused
by Bringitonnb on 2021/02/22 22:03
This app has really helped with focus. Even if you are not actively using it on the screen, the ding helps a distracted rabbit hole thought be captured and put back to the task at hand. Having it on the screen and visible allows for that last little push to be taken advantage of time and time and time again. Instead of thinking of tasks as a burden having this allows me to turn my last few tasks into a game or wait on getting that next cup of coffee or bathroom break. Very helpful.
Makes me so productive!
by Qkjsksns on 2021/02/22 06:58
I’ve been struggling with uni life as a freshman, and even more so having to take classes online. But this app has allowed me to be motivated to study. Time passes by so quickly, that I get surprised whenever the app rings, reminding me to take my five minute break. And it also does not make me feel overworked. I love the Pomodoro way of getting things done. This app is definitely the best with this study technique.

Helps me get focused despite my ADHD
by Cmconerly on 2021/02/21 21:12
I have always worked by a timer since grade school, but this app helps me keep track of where I am in the process. Time blindness means I may not know how many work sessions I have done when I am in hyper-focus mode. This helps me keep track and reminds me to take breaks. (although often I work through the break.)
Life saver
by Puppy dog lover2000 on 2021/02/20 19:51
Absolute miracle. Recommended to me by my eighth grade teacher, and I’ve been using it in the years ever since. The method is not unique to this app, but the formatting here is perfect; I can’t overstate how essential this app has been, and you’d never guess how helpful it is until you try it. With time limits as opposed to just working ongoing for hours, its so motivating and has improved my productivity tenfold. I can’t recommend it enough, everyone should use it.
Great app

I really appreciate this app, it helps me stay on task with housework. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in just 25 min increments! This only thing I would really like to see is an app for my watch. I try to put my phone down while I’m working and it would be great to have the timer on my wrist.

by uukuu01 on 2021/02/18 15:38
This app really helps me get control of how my time is spent during the day. When I don’t use it, I have no idea where the time goes. It also has helped me appreciate the value of breaks during my work day. Those breaks keep me fresher much further into my day. This is a great one.
Excellent pomodoro app for distractable types.

I love the different types of background noise and audio queues. One problem I've found however is the inability to manually reset your "day" and goals. I'm on 22/12 of my goal and there's no way to reset it.

This app is simple and awesome. I use it (almost) daily to split my work sessions up into manageable chunks and I love it. It helps me break down my goals into bite-sized (25 minute) portions and reminds me to take breaks. Simplicity is what you want with a pomodoro timer and this is simple in all the right ways :)

Works for me
by MiEzen on 2021/02/13 04:19
Trying to just use timers and alarms via the clock app sounds like it would be easy enough but that doesn’t work as well as this app. This Pomodoro app is so simple and convenient that it removes the smallest distractions that lead to huge time wasters.
Effective
by Owenoern on 2021/02/11 22:42
The free version is sufficient, no annoying pop ups or limitations. However, the paid version is awesome. No subscription, just one payment. You get added customization and the ability to view your past 30 days of activity. It has been really motivating to watch my work ethic improve. It is so easy to see the number of hours worked every day plotted out for the last month. I’ve come so far in only one week of seriously attacking my procrastination, and Focus Keeper has been instrumental.

I use it everyday
by Waifu laifu on 2021/02/09 00:14
This time is so simple and elegant. The timer just works and the interface is clutter free. I appreciate that there is a calculator that shows how much time you would be spending in Focus when setting up the rounds, which I find helps me stay realistic with my focus goals. I do about 8 rounds in a work day, which is about 4.5 hours of focus, and usually takes a whole work day. With this feature I can let myself off the hook for not working enough because I am not working “16 hours a day” as so many people in my field like to trumpet. When I can complete my work ahead of schedule with a regular rhythm of focus, all the workaholic unrealistic expectations start to dissolve One feature that’s keeping this from being a five star review is that there is no option to have a sustained alarm to alert the end of a long break. When it’s the end of a long break usually I am away from my phone far enough that the one time ding doesn’t register to me until it’s too late and I need to reset the focus timer.

This is really great if you have concentration issues or self-discipline issues. Thanks to the pandemic I’ve struggled to concentrate on my schoolwork but this app helped me boost my productivity and has helped to keep myself in check when I’m slacking. Also i didn’t like the ticking sound at first but it grew on me and now I get why it’s there. Good background noise to help you stay focused. Great app, just wish you had more customization options without having to buy the pro version.
Take a break

This timer helps me stay focused but also reminds me to take a break. As a nursing student I could study all day but I know it’s just as important to give your brain a break.
Great App for Focusing

After using this app for studying and reading, I have noticed that I don’t let my mind wonder off as much. It’s useful that it gives a chime when your phone is locked to ensure that your time is up to either rest or study.

Simple. Elegant. Gets the job done without the bells & whistles getting in the way. Love the audio cues as well — keeps me focused without having to look at my phone. Love this app.
Changed My Life!

I absolutely cannot believe how much more productive I am in my work, professionally and personally, when I use Focus Keeper. I am an editor/writer working from home, and both my work assignments and my housekeeping tasks were all slow, unfocused, and disorganized before I found this app. Now, with Focus Keeper, I work faster in my job, and during my 5-minute breaks, I always get up and move around. Since I’m not sitting as long at one time, I don’t get as stiff and uncomfortable as I used to, and—bonus—I get so many little household chores accomplished during those brief breaks of five minutes throughout the day (things that I have successfully put off for days, weeks, months...years). I love this app! Thank you, Focus Keeper!

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the number of things that I need to do in efforts to be a good college student. I get overwhelmed by how much reading I have to do as well as how many assignments that I have. This helps me to just focus for the short increments of time and get as much done as I can in that time period then have a break. It makes it feel less like work in my opinion. 10/10 would recommend.
The only way I get things done these days
by CrazyWriterPerson01 on 2021/01/27 14:14
I don’t have ADHD (as far as I know), but I do have focus issues that can make it difficult to be productive for long periods, and I have a lot of stuff to do (including school prep) on which I fall behind if I’m not consistent in my working habits. This app helps me get a LOT more done on a consistent basis and track how well I’m doing over a two-week to one-month period. I paid for the pro upgrade pretty much on the first day because I knew I’d be using the app to death and having the ability to customize everything is a huge help. One weird bug I’ve come across is that when I pick a time for the round and goals to reset, it always picks the time one hour before that. I’ve learned to work around this — it’s just a little odd and can be annoying if you don’t catch it when picking a new reset time. Otherwise, I have no major complaints — the app works beautifully. It would be nice to be able to use it in split view on iPad, but that’s more of a request than a complaint.
I love it

Perfect for Focusing!

This app makes a world of difference. I’m able to focus for chunks of time and save my non-work items that pop into my head for my 5 min breaks. It’s great!
Another ADHD-approved reviewer!
by SEGwrites on 2020/02/24 19:02
After getting diagnosed with Adult ADHD last year, I realized how all these “impenetrable systems” I created over the years became penetrable... although my symptoms were exacerbated by a major hormone shift, it threw me into desperately seeking help to maintain focus as my work as an entrepreneur and writer declined and continued descending rapidly. With that, I re-discovered Pomodoros. What I believe sets this app apart (from the ones that I know of, at least) is the ability to assign sounds and music to intervals and breaks. It’s a great way to keep working, *ding* stop and take a break, [sound] start working again. The constant sound (waves crashing on the shore) while working adds more focus for me as my brain assigns the sound on a loop with relaxation and focus—and it’s automatic so I don’t have to fiddle with the music app and get distracted there too... And now that my hormone situation is back under control, the Pomodoro method is even more effective in keeping my brain engaged when necessary, and queuing me to reward myself when the breaks roll around. The only thing I’d add to improve it is the option to label intervals. For example, in another app I have on my desktop it allows me to identify what exactly I did during those working intervals. (i.e. “Maintenance Tasks” and “Writing” and “Journaling” and “Brainstorming”.) It makes a difference for me, but it definitely isn’t a deal breaker. Five stars! Highly recommend it.
ADHD / ADD APPROVED!!! Yes!!!
by Jasmin-Corvette on 2020/04/09 13:38
Wow! Never in a million years would I have thought that I would gain effective productivity with an app, such as this one! I suffer from anxiety and uncontrollable ADD and my medication to control this challenge, lately, has been effective for my energy (caffeine boost), but I needed something to support me, in addition, to my focus concerns. I have been extremely behind on my work assignments which increases the negative behaviors through my anxiety. I find that I do well, with my medications, combined with a simple tool or self-challenge to hold myself more accountable toward my efforts (or ability) to complete my massive load!!! This app is beyond simple and user friendly and that’s all you need to get your task DONE!!!! I love the fact that I have the ability to change the countdown times, however I see fit for myself in the moment of. I have literally been more productive in my very first time of using this app, that I have in MONTHS! This is my new life saver and I would totally recommend this to ANYONE with ADD/ ADHD. I feel more accomplished and at ease because I am getting my work caught up in long sittings!!! The routine breaks are perfect!!! Prior to the app, I had my life coach advise this on and off rotation for my condition, but it’s not as beneficial or effective as an app that can track your progress! I’m grateful! I think this app saved my job as a director!!! Wow.
Best Pomodoro Timer You Can Get!!
by seasickdyl on 2020/03/19 22:03
Trust me I’ve scoped them all, even written a couple myself (via Shortcuts), but this is the best app on the AppStore if you’re often distracted, unmotivated, or suffer from adult ADHD. I definitely upgraded to pro, worth it to customize my chimes (Pavlov conditioning myself haha), and set the background colors to something I enjoy glancing at all day. The main benefit of this app in my opinion is the tracking/data analytic aspect they perfectly built in. The only thing I wish this app had was a text box you could enter your current task into so that it was present on-screen while the work-session timer is counting down. All in all this is my favorite and most used app whenever I have big tasks to work on or if I ever feel my productivity isn’t at the level where I know it can be. Highly recommend my friends! Edit: One other note, seems the chime settings are a bit backwards. I guess I expect to set the chime sound that would start the session. For example when setting the Focus Alarm to News Is expect that sound to play when I’m going into a new Focus session however I have to set this sound to the other two breaks to get this to play how I intend since the sound for Focus Alarm actually plays when that session is over.
Completely Changes the WFH Balance
by L•R•C on 2020/09/24 16:22
After switching from 5-6 days a week in the office, to COVID and working from home, I really struggled to balance everything. Somehow the load of laundry or the dishes in the sink were very hard to ignore while trying to focus on work. I found myself constantly distracted, only able to focus on work when household tasks were done (which of course they never are!) This app changed my life. The structure of working for 25 minutes with a 5 minute break allows for focus time, and then I can take 5 minutes to switch the laundry or empty the dishwasher, which really helps to keep the work-life balance actually balanced. Four repeats of a “block” equals 8 hours of focus, which also makes a very tangible way to work 8 hours during your day. And this is broken up by 30 minute breaks between each two hour block, which I find helps me produce higher quality work throughout the day, while also giving me time to keep up with housework. I highly recommend focus keeper to anyone struggling to work from home and keep their work life balance.
Helping me through my roughest day
by Chelley449 on 2020/10/06 20:02
If I have a day of intense productivity (aka hyperfocus), I suffer from brain fog for the next few days, sometimes even a whole week. Today is one those days. I was struggling through the most basic tasks. I couldn’t even focus for a 5 minute stretch in order to answer my work emails. This app is a lifesaver for my ADHD brain. I turned on the White Noise app and set the timer for 10 minutes. So far I’ve been able to complete 3 cycles of 10 minutes each. I’ve now bumped it up to 15 minutes. Hopefully the apps will carry me through the day. Update 10/6 - I have one complaint about the way the app functions. I have it installed on my iPhone. It seems to stop randomly and it doesn’t restart itself or even alert me to let me know that I need to restart it. I don’t know if it stops when I get a text message or a phone call or if a calendar alert pops up. I’m so focused on my work (or trying to be focused re:ADHD). I only realize that the timer has stopped when I switch to it to see how much time is left until my next break. It’s very frustrating.

ADHD?? This is your GOD Send!! I have only been using this APP since this morning and I have already managed to complete several tasks with minimal interference! I’m beyond amazed! Nothing has ever worked for me. Squirrel Moments as my husband fondly calls them would overtake my days to the point that at the end of the day I hadn’t actually accomplished anything but had managed to begin at least 4 or 5 more projects!!! All of my “Projects” would remain unfinished until I HAD to complete one! Even then a 1 hour task, could and usually did, take upwards of 4 or 5 hours and even then maybe still not be completed but always another 3 or 4 would be in the works!! I’m not kidding you! Since this morning I have started and completed one project and finished 3 that were in the works!!! Hallelujah!!! And it’s only 2:15pm!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this App, I’m deleting all the rest except for AnyList!! I use that one daily and now I can actually get everything at the grocery that’s “On the List “. Before AnyList, I always lost the list! 😂 Anyway get this! You will Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙌👍😀

Pretty Decent
by NobodyUnoe on 2016/10/21 05:12
A simple but effective app to prevent burnout while working or studying (I use it for studying Japanese). The Pomodoro method helps not only with keeping you at your peak of attention span, but also helps with the much more subtle fear that feeds wandering attention and procrastination: the fear that the workload will never end. It's perfect and very comforting for overwhelming tasks that you dread sitting down to tackle. The app itself is so visually simple, it doesn't distract, but reassures you in an easy to read timer. Personally, I customized it, turning off the tick tick sounds on the work sessions and the long break- on work sessions I found it to be stressful, and who wants a timer ticking loudly on their long break away from work? The ticking works well though for the short breaks, to keep you mindful that they're brief. There's also a reminder that rings every Monday at 2pm, suggesting that you plug in for a session, which I rather found adorable. It's kept me from dropping the app and forgetting it, and as a result, put in more regular study time.
Great app, annoying default tick
by jdidn736 on 2020/05/27 19:17
I love this app! I use it for writing my research book. It can be hard to focus for the long periods of time I need to invest to keep it moving along, and my writing quality declines after I’ve been writing too long without a break. This app is great! I love its short breaks, which hardly take any time out of my work block and make me much more productive. Distraction and writers block is cut short by its alarm—I use my break time to do something physical outside and always feel more mental clarity and refreshment afterward. It is also very convenient not to have to waste time setting alarms, for the app does it all for me. As soon as you download this app, change the default ticking sounds to silence; otherwise, it is tremendously annoying. I would appreciate if the developers would make the sound-setting buttons more sensitive to touch—I had to punch them several times before I could silence the tick. However, that all was a quite minor issue and very easily solved. Overall, a great app!

Very helpful
by 1jdien-9 on 2018/12/06 00:16
I downloaded this app because I couldn’t get myself to study, I kept either overworking myself studying for hours without a break and could hardly remember anything or just took hour long breaks and couldn’t get myself to focus on studying. With the help of this app I was able to quickly and easily go through my studying without wasting time looking at the paper with no motivation. I find it best to have a 5 minute break every 25-30 mins (which is how long the average person can focus) and with the help of this app I am usually done within 3 hours (usually it took me a whole day, now I have more time) Another thing that I absolutely appreciate about this app is that the free version doesn’t have any ads and that you can use the most important function without paying. I also love the little ring that rings whenever I have a break (you can turn it off!)
Great app, but...
by idealistic.realism on 2020/07/29 18:07
So I’ve only been using this for a few days to help keep my focus on work at home instead of all the background activity that I don’t usually have when I was working in the office. Generally speaking, I really do like this and find it easier to keep my focus on my tasks knowing I’ve got a short break coming up. I like the functionality of the app - I appreciate the simplicity and ease in using it. My only complaint is that, if I have to switch apps, it will stop the clock. I know the point is to focus, but my employer is using a VOIP app to let us answer our calls via our mobile phones while at home, meaning I don’t really have a choice about switching between this and the phone app. But, when I switch back, the timer has often stopped. And, if I forget to switch back and check it, then I’m often sitting there thinking to myself that it seems like a really long 25 minutes! If this bug was fixed, I would absolutely give this app 5 stars.

We’ve all had the heart-dropping-through-stomach, holy-guacamole-I-haven’t-even-STARTED-my-10-page-Literature-paper-due-tomorrow feeling, and it’s a feeling that leaves us hopelessly overwhelmed! I didn’t know what else to do other than, like my fellow Gen Z’ers, to consult my mobile phone (this here iPhone) and seek the counsel of the App Store gods. Profs have recommended to me the Pomodoro technique (4 rounds of 25 minutes working, 5 minute breaking followed by a longer break—I thought it sounded silly but silly is perhaps the best option once you’ve hit rock bottom!) and I knew I couldn’t trust myself to keep myself accountable for the time intervals, so why not use the app? Super simple, no frills, honestly not very fun either but I guess that’s the point, lol. 12/10 would recommend to a friend (or even an enemy). Paper still isn’t done, but here’s to 25-on, 5-off for the rest of this fine evening! Cheers
Almost perfect, the best I've used so far
by katscott93 on 2017/05/03 21:00
I really enjoy this app - it has a clean interface (with NO ads in the free version - much appreciated) and the option to tweak the length of each type of work or break session. It also includes long sessions & breaks, which many of the apps I've tried that rival this one to me, do not include - very big plus, and truer to the pomodoro technique. The only thing so far I can complain about is that the sound alert for new sessions does not take priority over things like music or videos playing in the background - pretty much every other app that has a sound alert will slightly lower the volume of whatever you have playing to allow the chime to be heard, but this one gets drowned out. I either have to not have music playing, or have the app idle and visible so I can notice the sessions changing. I'm not really satisfied with being able to up the volume of the alert - I'd really appreciate if this were updated.
So helpful with my Adult ADHD!!!
by Chanelle777 on 2020/08/17 20:56
After being diagnosed with ADHD in my late adulthood, meeting in my late 20s… LOL, I had to find ways to figure out how to manage my focus. Even with medication, I still find myself focusing on the wrong things. But this app has been extremely helpful in reminding me to take breaks, and then use my super power of hyperfocus to get things done. I definitely recommend this to a lot of people who are struggling with distractions, and one thing that I would change, is being able to set a title during each focus session so that I know exactly what I should be focusing on. I use stickies at the moment and then crumble them when I’m done (which is so rewarding). Definitely will be using this... without I think I would be homeless because I wouldn’t get any work done. I rarely leave reviews, but this is the GOAT of focus apps. Good job!! (And this comes from a UX Designer btw 🤓)
Very Simple & Intuitive
by sheisimperfectt on 2016/11/30 06:11
It's been forever since I've rated an app, but this simple tool helped me perform my best on my recent exam, as well focusing and studying smarter as well. Normally i just try to use my own pomodoro techniques and take mini breaks, but even i get sidetracked and want to linger on my social media a little longer. So having this app is handy, not only for reminders, but also keep track of my study sessions and mini breaks/progress as well. Because of this and because it's aided me to study 'smarter' and to study more efficiently, I've upgraded to the pro and I found it to be worth it (: You just have to believe and push yourself to the best of your ability whether it's in school or for work purposes, just do it. And before using this app, i was overwhelmed with information and which resources to utilize, but having something handy like this, really helped me A LOT. 5/5 😌

by gggggggggggggggggggggeasy on 2020/04/24 21:37
I knew this technique existed, but this app made it so easy to implement. There are three different phases to this timer, and five “rounds”: two 25-min work rounds, two 5-min break rounds, and one 25-min break round. Each different phase has a different sound to it, so it’s easy to know which round is happening without having to pick up your phone and reset. This is a HUGE bonus for me, since picking up my phone is focus suicide. You can leave this open, even with your phone on silent, and still hear the time ticking away, which is enough auditory stimulation for me to focus on what I’m doing. It will go through the phases without you having to touch anything. This is all for free, by the way. Additional customization options are available for a one-time purchase, but the app can stand on its own without these. Perfect! I use this on my iPhone 7 for refs sake
Not too rigid, but you still need self control!
by J9rossi on 2018/12/07 20:13
I love this app because you can also customize The timer based on your own needs. It’s not rigid. So if you’re in a good work flow and don’t really want to stop when it tells you to stop, you just skip the break time to go into the next round. Only thing is that it only starts and stops if you tell it too, so it’s not as disciplinary. Also, it does not lock you from going on snapchat or wherever, so it really is just mind power and self control to not do anything other than work during those 25/whatever minutes. What would be cool is if they had a note/to do setting where if you think of something that you want to be worried about later, you can write it down there and then the break time shows and reminds you the things you quick typed down before. Amazing regardless.
My favorite Pomodoro timer
by Sam941bklyn on 2020/07/19 19:46
Of the many Pomodoro technique timers I’ve downloaded on my phone and desktop to help me stay focused during my work sprints, this has by far been my favorite. I’m a stickler for good, intuitive UX, especially when it comes to productivity apps. The last thing I need when trying to get work done is an app that takes too long to customize or setup! I love that I can readjust my focus segments right there on the timer page with a simple slider, rather than being forced into the options to make a universal change. That way, my focus segments can fit any sort of scheduling fluctuations or preferences that day. Signals and alarms when the segments are up are loud enough over any background focus music I’m using, but aren’t jarring. Overall, I highly recommend this app for anyone needing help to focus and get work done with a simple setup!
Great app
by notso_tall on 2019/03/08 11:55
It is very very useful for studying. This technique is great but what’s even better is that this app is so simple and provides such a wonderful experience even without paying. There are absolutely no ads and everything functions the way it should. I did end up buying it because it was very cheap to do so and because I used it so much, it was worth the payment of $0.99. With the paid version you just get to tweak things and change things to suit you better but even without the paid version, it’s still so amazing. I decided to change the time intervals to suit me and after a while I just reverted back to the suggested time because it just worked the best for me. I highly recommend this app for its usefulness and because I am thankful to the creators for not bombarding me with ads and making the nonpaid experience perfect!
Easy to use and definitely more focused
by Jeunoh on 2020/07/25 16:21
I like how user friendly this app is!! It’s easily customizable with a simple interfacing allowing minimal distractions. It keeps me accountable for myself. I like getting the notifications letting me know I haven’t used it in a while/“time to get focused”. There is a big difference in my work efficiency when I use this app and when I don’t. (The former being more effective.) I recommended this app to multiple ppl and it has helped them too. I also tried tomato timer using just a regular timer when I didn’t feel like using the app. I think the app is better because of the interface and automatic breaks and focus timers disallowing any pause in between!! Another positive: the small bell announcing the end or start of break is definitely better than the alarm sounds.
Amazingly Helpful
by pasteltears on 2016/12/04 15:53
It's extremely helpful in keeping you focused on any task. There's something about it where you feel satisfied and also like you owe it to the app and yourself to continue. 25 minutes doesn't seem long, and if you do face a passage of your work that isn't capturing your interest, you know that you only need to try until the break, and you'll be able to step away for a few minutes and relax. I'll never study or write papers without this app again. Nothing captures my attention and keeps it more than this app. I could have all the time in the world, but be unable to stick to a schedule, but with this, I can keep myself absolutely focus and undistracted for hours. I only feel accomplishment and pride in what I've done. I cannot recommend this app enough!
Making Pomodoro flexible and personal
by Grandma Leena on 2018/12/22 23:11
First of all, I started using Pomodoro as an older person to help with my arthritis by forcing myself to take short breaks from working on the computer. After success with this I began personalizing by varying work session and break sessions according to what I am doing : meditating, cooking, cleaning. It basically reminds me to keep an alternating standing and moving around vs. sitting time schedule. When I have a particularly difficult task, I use it as a reward system — I extend the long break and take a walk or read a book. I keep a 12 session schedule, and then give myself the evening off — or, alternately take the morning off and begin at noon. I am much more productive, in less pain, and suffer a lot less guilt since I began using Pomodoro.
Must have for university students.
by Sierra Overby on 2019/10/09 00:46
I love this app. I use it every day for school work. I’ll keep it open on my phone so anytime I start to get distracted and pick up my phone, the bright red screen and timer pops up to remind me I’m on the clock. It makes dreadful tasks less dreadful because there is always an end in sight. It makes me feel productive because I can visibly see how much I’ve gotten done. I really like to spend the work period working, and the break period cleaning or doing chores. It’s a good way to be active in between long periods of sitting, keeps me awake, and is a nice way to get chores done in short periods that would have otherwise been spent scrolling on my phone. The pomodoro timer is an excellent way to put some much needed routine into my study sessions.
Best Pomodoro app available!
by Auk KD on 2020/09/19 09:38
I’ve been using this app for years and finally I am getting around to reviewing it. I think I’ve probably been using this app on and off for work since circa 2016. I originally tried a number of different Pomodoro focus apps, but ultimately I came back to this one because of its simplicity, customization options and the selection of sounds and alerts. Personally, I like to listen to the noises of the coffee shop while I’m working and then the waves when I’m on my break. A couple years ago I finally broke down and paid for the premium version and I’m glad I did. To pay a small one time fee to be able to use this app whenever and however I want is obviously worth the cost! Keep it up developers of Focus Keeper!
If you have ADHD, get this
by Bananaguy7 on 2017/10/05 03:24
This app is an essential tool for those with ADHD or with any kind of trouble focusing. You turn on the timer, turn off your screen, and then just work until you hear the ding. Then you can rest easy knowing you have a pre-timed break. When you hear another ding, you get back to work. Repeat a few times and you get a longer break. The app does all the timing for you. No need to set ten thousand reminders, you automatically get notified when work time and break time are over. Also, if the default settings for the app (25 min of work, 5 min break) aren't effective for you, you can easily set the times to be different. Maybe you do better with 30 min of work and five minute breaks. An hour of work and 10 minute breaks? You can play around until it fits you. You can also turn off the ticking if it distracts you. This app will not solve everything. You still have to have the willpower to commit to your work. You still have to summon up the strength to start. It won't give you magic concentration powers. It will give you a nice structure with which it is much easier to do your work. Seriously, make use of this great tool.
Great for Procrastinators
by valg• on 2019/08/12 19:17
This app is a great resource to use to successfully space out your time. One thing I learned about me and other procrastinators is that we often over calculate how much time we need for breaks from productivity. Constant excuses keep people from staying on task, and that’s how time loss happens. This app has really helped me to stay focused because you always know there will be a break after a certain period of work, while also not overdoing it. I like to go with the 25:5 ratio, but you can adjust your times according to your needs. This has helped me keep it a habit to be productive with my time, and it’s really easy to use. Definitely suggest you try it out for a few days and see how it goes! (Because it’s really helpful!)
Changed My Life!
by LKR612 on 2021/02/01 19:03
I absolutely cannot believe how much more productive I am in my work, professionally and personally, when I use Focus Keeper.
Effective yet imperfect
by Collegestudent303 on 2017/01/29 22:06
The app has a great idea and is really simple to use. I like the ticking as a background noise, personally, but it can be shut off for when you aren't studying alone or when it gives you a touch of anxiety about the work. The only thing I didn't particularly find helpful was the pause button on the timer. It allowed me to take breaks during the supposed "work time," so I found myself getting distracted with friends and texts and food... you name it. I guess the good thing about that is when you have the ability to pause for little things like shooting a text to a friend or getting a snack, it keeps you working for the entire work period (default 25 mins). Overall highly recommend the app, as I would have taken much longer to do these assignments without it!
Just about perfect - one minor adjustment
by .C.R.S. on 2019/11/30 14:18
This app is exactly as simple as it needs to be. Easy to maneuver, easy to set and allows you to customise colours/tones for personal preference. HOWEVER, one slight adjustment that I would make is that you can currently only set a different tone to denote the end of a long break, however it would be more useful to have a different tone to denote the beginning of a long break. I try to avoid any interaction with my phone when I am working (and therefore using this app) and naturally I use my breaks differently when I have a long break compared to a short break. At the moment, I have to check the timer to see if I have a short or long break but it would be much more preferable to avoid having the pull my phone out as that reintroduces the distractor.
Best and most simple app ever!!
by breannnanicole on 2020/08/01 23:34
I love this app. It was recommended to me by a friend and I can’t stop using it. It’s really hard for me to stay focused and productive throughout my day. I find myself side tracked easily and always wanting to socially browse. When I got this app to try out I wasn’t sure it was going to work because I’ve used self timers before. But for some reason the presentation of the timer, the ticking sound of the clock showing time passing by, makes me more motivated to stay focused and get my stuff done. I only have the free version but I am looking at getting the pro so I can set my own goals and times. 100% recommend this app!! And I also never rate things but thought this app was worth it!!
This app is game changing
by sabsriv on 2020/09/05 02:30
I am so glad that I gave this app a try today. Ever since I was young, I struggled with my ability to focus and read material for long period of time. I foolishly thought that buckling down and trying to get through long readings/tasks in one setting was the key to efficiency, and boy was I wrong. This app is so incredibly helpful in increasing my productivity. Normally I struggle with reading upwards of 30+ pages of homework/other material in one day. Only using this app for one day, I have been able to read over 100 pages without feeling any sort of burnt out. The Pomodoro method that this app is meant to emulate is ingenious, and is a game changer in the realm of productivity and self improvement.
Effective for studying but underhanded in selling pro version
by Focus_123 on 2020/03/30 00:21
I’ve never written a review for an app before but I felt like I had to warn other people. First of all, credit where it is due, this app is effective. It is set to the traditional pomodoro technique as a default: four rounds of 25/5 minute study/break sessions followed by a longer break. I found it worked very well when I was studying. When I was poking around in the settings I noticed there were some settings that I couldn’t change without buying the “Pro” version. That’s normal. HOWEVER hidden at the bottom of the settings menu is a button labeled “Restore Pro” which when I clicked it, bought the Pro version of the app without giving me a chance to authenticate it. I didn’t intend to buy the Pro version. Because of the underhanded tactics I can’t give it 5 stars.
Great all-around
by cmc26_whyarethesealltaken on 2019/11/29 16:34
I like this app because unlike other apps similar to it, you can leave your phone on do not disturb and still get the notifications from this app. That way, this app helps you stay on track without getting distracted by other phone notifications. It also allows you to skip, shorten, and extend breaks and work sessions. This app also automatically resets the timer for each new day as you sleep (you can change the time for it to reset in settings if you're typically up past midnight). One slightly annoying thing is that if you get a phone call while the timer is going, it will automatically pause itself when the call ends.
Work Smarter and Get More Accomplished
by easy2focus on 2020/01/09 03:20
Focus Keeper enables me intense focus for my studies. By breaking up study sessions into 25 minute blocks it is never too daunting to get started. The 5 minute breaks are a fantastic respite and keep me from getting off task while I study (when I get tempted by a distraction I think, “No, I’ll do that when the bell rings.”) And the 25 minutes FLY and I get super absorbed in the content. Five minute break is plenty and then I easily dive back in. I like this system so much that I even use it to motivate myself to complete chores that I am prone to put off. 25 minutes cleaning out a closet, 5 minute break, 25 minutes more cleaning closet, etc. I tutor students and I introduce this app to each of them. Most LOVE it.
GET IT
by lin10D24 on 2021/02/28 17:40
My therapist recommended a Pomodoro Timer to help my ADD.
Very simple clean UI with good product focus
by timothi_banks on 2020/06/23 18:25
I bought the pro Version of this app, and I really appreciate the focus of “focus” app (pun intended). Not a ton of bloated features, just the focus intervals (and plenty of customizations to look and feel / interval timings). I use this app while coding to get focused tasks done. In a world of slack messages, iMessages, emails, social media and noisy app notifications, it’s amazing we are able to get anything done at all. Additionally, these constant distractions, without breaks, cause stress response in the body. This app helps me be more sustainable as a developer, and take better care of my mental and emotional well being. UPDATE: edited to four stars, because a Apple Watch app for this would be epic. Using some haptic taps to signify breaks versus work.…😍
Gets the Job Done
by If a Philosopher Had ADD on 2020/05/28 18:01
I really enjoy this application, as someone with ADD having such a tool is really helpful to keep me organized and staying on task with a sustained amount of energy. However, I do wish that the long break time could be tweaked without having the PRO version and also it’d be nice if there could be a checklist where there’s a task I’m working on for 4 rounds. There’s a similar application (that has the qualities I stated aboveI prefer over this one, that I use on my laptop. (I forget the name, and my laptops broken, but it’s in the App Store). I will be trying other pomodoro timers to see if there’s a better fit- but this definitely does the job with a clean not-distracting look! I hope my thoughts don’t seem too jumbled in this review, lol.
Helped me pass college
by Leo_da_kid on 2020/05/01 06:52
I’ve always been bad with time management, especially during studying or staying on schedule. I watched a video where Jordan Peterson said if you want to succeed, split your goal into measurable units. I chose time as my unit to get stuff done. Purchasing the extra features were worth it so I can customize my study time and how many sessions before I get a break. So worth it!! Next thing you know, I was getting assignments done, I was aware of the time and able to catch the bus, and slip in some study time if I was in between classes. I did amazing my last semester of college and graduated. I wonder why I didn’t use it before. I highly recommend to anyone!!
Delivers what it promises beautifully, which is rare nowadays
by Tenshi Sora on 2020/02/23 22:50
This app is simple but powerful. I have been using it recently to study and it has helped me stay focused. In a day where ads rule the apps, this is the 2nd one where I am glad to pay for it (even if I don’t use the paid things) just to support the app developers. Great app all around! If I could criticize one thing it would be that on mobile, if you have a iPhone X and higher, you will accidentally stop/start the timer if you have the phone on it’s side and you switch apps or go to the home screen. Apparently it recognizes the gesture as a tap on the timer. Minor but this app still deserves the 5 stars
Best Pomodoro App: clean + customizable
by Edward Dansen on 2019/04/18 13:56
This is the best Pomodoro app I’ve tried. It manages to strike a nice balance between staying simple and clean, but offering a lot of customization. I also really like that this app will allow you to receive notifications while Do Not Disturb is on. The other Pomodoro apps I tried do not have this feature, which I find to be quite important so I can hear the Pomodoro alarm without being distracted by other notifications. The only con I see is that this app does not offer an Apple Watch version. I don’t currently own an Apple Watch, but I may get one at some point, which would require me to start using a different app.
Timer stopped counting down in background
by Ez550 on 2020/10/21 19:38
I recently purchased the Pro version of this app because it was helping me organize my time so well. Within the last week, the app has stopped functioning correctly. When I leave the app, the timer stops counting down in the background. I did a test where I had my phone next to me with a stopwatch. The stopwatch recorded two minutes had past, while Focus Keeper had only gone down one minute. This makes no sense. It leaves me working way longer than the 25 minutes and confused with the amount of time I have spent working on an assignment. Please fix this!! I LOVED this app and began recommending it to all my college friends but now if it is not working, I cannot continue telling people to use it. If this problem were fixed I would be giving this app 5 stars but unfortunately this is my only way of reliably contacting support.
The App is Gold
by MusicJourneys on 2018/11/01 21:49
I’ve never written a review before, but this app deserves it. I tried 7 or 8 other Pomodoro style timers and while they work, they were either ugly, overly busy, or distracting or so simple that they weren’t much better than the Timer app. Life requires flexibility. This app lets you change everything, but is also structured. I love being able to increase or decrease session and/or break times on the fly. I like being able to change colors. I like that the timer itself is what is big on the screen. I did pay the $1.99 to be able to change the extra options. Worth the cost. This app developer talent is in knowing how to make it powerful and simple. The other apps frustrated the heck out of me. This app works more naturally and flexibly, while still giving you all the structure you may want. One or two others were close, but were too rigid or ugly. This is a great daily companion app! 5-Stars easily! Worth the price. No annoying nags or up sells. Complete control over sounds, etc. Perfection!
Almost perfect—almost.
by YourAverageAppleReviewer on 2020/09/29 19:40
You can’t ask much from these apps. It does everything it needs to. I love the UI and the way you set the time. There’s only one thing that frustrates me about this app. Why can’t you mute it? I would be watching a video on my iPad and have to switch to a different device due to the incessant ticking. I’m not saying remove the sound(I like it at certain times), but the sound makes it unusable whenever I need to have a video open alongside the app. I love everything else about this, but until that changes I have to use a different pomodoro timer. Looking forward to that being addressed!
Focus is that You?!
by Mho' on 2020/09/19 18:35
What can I say? When I study, I easily get distracted by my phone or my surroundings. With the focus app, it challenges me to sit still and be productive for a consistent amount of time. Now, if you find yourself having troubles focusing I strongly suggest this apps. It’s something about the clock ticking that makes me want to be consistent and finish the task. Please keep in mind that this app only helps with setting a consistent time table to study, it will not force you to study. You must do the conversations between self & self to motivate you to study. Regardless, download this app and start effective studying today! I promise you’ll love it!
Great app for focused work
by MamazinhaBR on 2017/06/02 02:09
This app is sooo good! I am doing a PhD, which means that I have to be very disciplined with doing focused work every day. Some texts that I have to read are very difficult and sometimes I lack the motivation. This app has helped me to create a study routine, keep track of amount of my focused work every day, and has boosted my motivation to work, especially on difficult readings. I just finished writing 2,500 words today just in a few hours, and it was with help of the app. I wouldn't had done so fast before. Also, the 5-min break is awesome to remind me to get up and move a little. This app changed my day to day work!!
One of the Best
by purevisualenergy on 2020/10/12 16:54
The app does its job and does it nicely! The ability to quickly change time periods is ideal, since every project has different needs and scheduling the sessions with flexibility is an added value. This is an ideal companion app to combine it with online teams like Caveday or Go Go Done, and reading so often that people with attention issues benefit from the app, I would strongly urge them to review those groups too, since the combo might be ideal to kill distractions and procrastination all in one shot If there is something to improve is just fixing the response of the timer when changing a established schedule, since it could respond faster to the newly adjusted time. Thanks guys!!

Cannot focus approved
by Izzyakam on 2021/05/04 00:42
This app was very great!

I Love this App

I’ve found it very helpful. I haven’t used the music yet but the sounds and visual reminder that it’s work time have increased my productivity. If it’s relevant, I also have ADHD. Sounds like this app is a specific help to folks like us.

Great app!!

I really appreciate this app, it helps me stay on task with housework. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in just 25 min increments! This only thing I would really like to see is an app for my watch. I try to put my phone down while I’m working and it would be great to have the timer on my wrist.

This app really helps me get control of how my time is spent during the day. When I don’t use it, I have no idea where the time goes. It also has helped me appreciate the value of breaks during my work day. Those breaks keep me fresher much further into my day. This is a great one.

This app is simple and awesome. I use it (almost) daily to split my work sessions up into manageable chunks and I love it. It helps me break down my goals into bite-sized (25 minute) portions and reminds me to take breaks. Simplicity is what you want with a pomodoro timer and this is simple in all the right ways :)

by MiEzen on 2021/02/13 04:19
Trying to just use timers and alarms via the clock app sounds like it would be easy enough but that doesn’t work as well as this app.

I love it

ADHD??? This is your GOD SEND!!!

The only way I get things done these days

Got me through crunch-time studying
