Will not let me go pro

No matter what I try, the app will not let me go pro! I e deleted, reinstalled, changed my in-app purchase settings.
Feature request
by Liz-0521 on 2020/09/23 02:17
Looks great so far. Could we have an option for a reminder ding 1 min before the end of a short or long break? Like how during intermission of a performance or play, the lights are dimmed five minutes before the end of intermission. Gives me a bit of time to make the transition from break to work mode.
Simple concepts work
by manmish on 2020/09/22 21:36
I find the act of starting a session focuses me for next 25 minutes. I just code for that period and do not pay attention to anything else. I use the break to triage other stuff and block session if something else needs attention. The 25 minute break is to recharge. I like the reports as I know how the last week went. I never start a session without a mental commitment for next 25 minutes.
Good for focusing
by Whizzle69 on 2020/09/22 15:53
Upgraded for $1.99 to help customize Pomo time and break times. I appreciate you,re not bombarded with ads on free version, is that an IOS thing? I recommend if you need to get stuff done mainly using it for study, in fact I’m on my 30 minute break cycle now.

I’m the worst at staying on task, but I started using this with my daily/hourly schedule for work and it actually works! I’ve tried everything but this thing is simple, easy to set up and understand and effective. 😊
Helpful at Work
by Neens17 on 2020/09/21 22:09
I started using this app in grad school to help me manage my time while studying and writing. I now often use it in the workplace, especially when I’m having difficulty starting a project. 25 minute increments seem so much more do-able at the outset of a project.
First year grad student.
by geezluisa on 2020/09/21 17:13
This app is helping me get through the long nights of writing and studying for grad school. The long break is a huge incentive that pushes me to get through each focus session. It’s such a simple concept that truly helps you stay focused.
AMAZING
by Mili_🌺 on 2020/09/21 16:46
As a student, I procrastinate a lot and I can barely stay focused. I used Focus Keeper to help me with it and it works! All the tiny breaks I get, and the long breaks are truly amazing. I haven’t done as much school work until now! Definitely recommending it to my fellow peers! College students if you’re here reading this, trust me! This app is a life saver!
Excellent!
by Rhamilton562 on 2020/09/21 01:32
Started using this app to help manage my study time. Works extremely well because it allows you to customize intervals. I started at 10 minutes, now I’m at 45 minutes.
Amazing for procrastinators
by jswiwr on 2020/09/20 18:57
I am getting my masters while also working full time. This app has been a life saver with staying focused on one task instead of procrastinating.
Was skeptical, am no longer
by zelathon on 2020/09/20 17:50
Crazy helpful, when I’m in the middle of a long grinding session can be hard not to lose focus and check my phone / fb / whatever. Having the timer keeps me honest and keeps me going
Really practical
by Ifiwasrichboy on 2020/09/20 14:40
While I used this for focus pomodoro technique, I also use it for few different purposes like Quick countdown timer. I love how it uses subtle ticking sound -adjustable. Prevent screen sleep. I wish there is option to reset the session. Because sometimes i forget to stop clock when I stopped study.
Timer keeps randomly pausing!
by Sputnick27 on 2020/09/20 14:05
It’s messing up my flow! ... it m must be another application causing it to pause. Please try to fix this!
Focus is that You?!
by Mho' on 2020/09/19 18:35
What can I say? When I study, I easily get distracted by my phone or my surroundings. With the focus app, it challenges me to sit still and be productive for a consistent amount of time. Now, if you find yourself having troubles focusing I strongly suggest this apps. It’s something about the clock ticking that makes me want to be consistent and finish the task. Please keep in mind that this app only helps with setting a consistent time table to study, it will not force you to study. You must do the conversations between self & self to motivate you to study. Regardless, download this app and start effective studying today! I promise you’ll love it!
Suggestion: Give an ETA
by Mike Ayetora on 2020/09/19 12:41
While structuring my day, it would be great if the app told me that if my breaks were so and so long and my work sessions were so and so long, when I would be done working that day. Kind of like how Google maps gives you are ETA. This would be great for managing a work life balance.
Best Pomodoro app available!
by Auk KD on 2020/09/19 09:38
I’ve been using this app for years and finally I am getting around to reviewing it. I think I’ve probably been using this app on and off for work since circa 2016. I originally tried a number of different Pomodoro focus apps, but ultimately I came back to this one because of its simplicity, customization options and the selection of sounds and alerts. Personally, I like to listen to the noises of the coffee shop while I’m working and then the waves when I’m on my break. A couple years ago I finally broke down and paid for the premium version and I’m glad I did. To pay a small one time fee to be able to use this app whenever and however I want is obviously worth the cost! Keep it up developers of Focus Keeper!
Perfect to keep focus
by yaysuz1 on 2020/09/19 01:54
If you have trouble sitting down and focusing, this app really helps. Before, I would get distracted and use my phone a lot while studying. Now, with this app, I don’t have that problem. It helps knowing you are being timed while studying and to expect that a break is coming shortly.
ADHD APPROVED!!
by natalieeeeee919 on 2020/09/18 20:12
This app is a lifesaver for online school. The breaks help with hyper focusing since that leads to burn out, and I actually remember to eat instead of working for six hours straight. The ding is super satisfying and it simulates the structure of class periods in school. Of course it’s easy not to listen to it, but if you do it works wonders
ADHD Working from home
by Cware1996 on 2020/09/18 17:41
I have loved working from home and I was ok self regulating the first few weeks but as weeks turned into months thanks to Covid I had to make a change. This helps so much with keeping me on task and allowing me little breaks throughout my day so I don’t get burnt out. I feel like I’m more productive than ever, my day is regulated so I get to take breaks without feeling like I’m cheating my job, and my day goes by faster!
AMAZING
by ice_wallo_come on 2020/09/18 16:38
This app has really helped me to focus and to keep track of how much I study each day! I really enjoy it. It has changed the way I study, and keeps me motivated.
Simple and works
by Jcs67 on 2020/09/18 00:17
Super simple. I love the option to have the ticking sound. If you don’t want the sound, you can turn it off. Also, I like to have the ticking sound play along with my background music. I can still play music in my iTunes AND have the ticking sound too.

I have ADHD and this helped me read my textbook without vivance!!!
by Air Video Is My Hero on 2020/09/17 22:08
I have found that it works! I was surprised. Drugs are so mentally and emotionally rough, it would be ideal if I didn’t have to take them to study. So far I have been able to read a whole chapter. A little bit of effort, turning on “do not disturb” on my phone, and this Pomodoro app have really helped me. Thank you!!!
Helping me through my roughest day
by Chelley449 on 2020/09/17 17:35
If I have a day of intense productivity (aka hyperfocus), I suffer from brain fog for the next few days, sometimes even a whole week. Today is one those days. I was struggling through the most basic tasks. I couldn’t even focus for a 5 minute stretch in order to answer my work emails. This app is a lifesaver for my ADHD brain. I turned on the White Noise app and set the timer for 10 minutes. So far I’ve been able to complete 3 cycles of 10 minutes each. I’ve now bumped it up to 15 minutes. Hopefully the apps will carry me through the day.
Limit for increasing time
by Amin947272 on 2020/09/17 11:58
Your app is great.but ineed increasing time gradually and with your app 64 mins is maximum. Please delete this limitation ir increase it for 120 mins
Great for work/studying
by DaniR998 on 2020/09/17 02:49
As a perpetually busy grad student, this app has been a life saver. I can’t tell you how many times I lost hours by frustratingly throwing myself into the same assignments feeling like I couldn’t possible take a break without falling behind. Or even sometimes because I was ALREADY behind. Using this app to remind myself of the natural limits of the human attention span has really forced me to take better care of myself. And really 5 minutes is usually all I need to come back refreshed for another 25 minutes. I’m spending less time doing work, getting a lot more done, and winding up with far fewer headaches.
Almost great.
by 1s4ac on 2020/09/17 00:33
I like the app and it’s design. One of the best, but there are no settings to adjust the time. What if I want to focus for 50min? Also I don’t always want to hear the clock noise. It would be nice to get a small vibration or be able to set vibration to let you know your timer is done. Vibration could be set for long break and short etc. the sound is annoying if I am working late at night. Other then that I enjoy the app!

Procrastinator Approved
by Koda 97 on 2020/09/11 20:59
I would dread starting assignments because of how long they would take. Then I heard of the Pomadora Technique and wanted to give it a try. I appreciate that this app allows you to adjust the times of each, give a simple timer, and skip parts if necessary. This definitely has helped me with being more focused on my school work, especially for reading textbook chapters. This app is simplistic to use and coming from a procrastinator I recommend the app and the method.
Definitely Keeps Me Focused
by ekelly1105 on 2020/09/11 15:28
During the pandemic while working from home, I often struggled to stay motivated and focused on my work. This app really helps me to stay focused. I am using all the default times. I love having a short mental break every 25 minutes as it helps the day fly by. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants a good time management system for work. I am just using the free version of the app and it is exactly what I need.
Wow!

Amazing!!!
by @Ewawa!song on 2020/09/09 16:09
I’m a young person with ADHD and I have trouble staying on task, or hyper focusing and not giving myself a break. This app helps me work quicker and more productively, and reminds me to take a second to stand up or rest my eyes. The price is awesome so I bought the premium version and I love how you can customize the sounds and colors of the app. I feel less exhausted after working when I use this app which is spectacular. Thank you for the wonderful app, this has improved my productivity by a LOT!

by Somsomy4 on 2020/09/06 04:59
Clean, simple design. Great sounds. I didn't think it would be so hard to find a timer with white noise, but search is over! I just wish it had a PC version, and also an account setup, so I could track my hours on my iPhone and iPad cumulatively.
This app is game changing
by sabsriv on 2020/09/05 02:30
I am so glad that I gave this app a try today. Ever since I was young, I struggled with my ability to focus and read material for long period of time. I foolishly thought that buckling down and trying to get through long readings/tasks in one setting was the key to efficiency, and boy was I wrong. This app is so incredibly helpful in increasing my productivity. Normally I struggle with reading upwards of 30+ pages of homework/other material in one day. Only using this app for one day, I have been able to read over 100 pages without feeling any sort of burnt out. The Pomodoro method that this app is meant to emulate is ingenious, and is a game changer in the realm of productivity and self improvement.
Best timer app for studying.
by Olivialovesmusic on 2020/09/04 11:11
Pre-set is traditional Pomodoro, but able to customize time intervals. Satisfying ring sound when time is up. Not too loud if it goes off in the library. No need to touch it to get it to go to the next interval-it’s automatic. Clean, simple interface.

Great for those who struggle with prolonged focus
by Rissa Guadron on 2020/09/03 00:03
I’ve always struggled with focusing for long periods of time. I’m easily distracted by bings on my phone or by whatever though compels me to check my e-mail then social media then my phone again. It’s a never ending cycle. But this app is helping me stay accountable to the pomodoro cycle so I can stay focused and squeeze more out of the time I have.
My favorite for Pomodoro
by jtheuriet on 2020/09/02 23:45
When I need to get focus work done this app is my bestie. It’s simple to use and will run in the background while I have the distraction of the iPhone screen shutoff. The different sounds for work and break modes are a subtle reminder to switch between tasks without having to pickup my phone. I also like that I can set the timer for the amount of time I would like to focus. The reason I’ve given it 4 ⭐️ is I think it would be even better if the app worked with my Apple Watch ⌚️. I could walk away from my phone during a break and be reminded to get back to work. A simple and effective focus tool. I will recommend it to clients and friends.
Two thumbs up!

I am a busy high school student with a lot to do each day. I felt so tired after spending so long doing homework and I lost my motivation. After using focus keeper I feel I manage by time so much better. The breaks it gives me allows me to spend time with family and relax without feeling guilty! I 100% recommend this to anyone who is looking for a way to manage their time! I am using the free version and so far I have no complaints!

Almost perfect
by Maryrose521 on 2020/09/01 17:30
I love the app and use it frequently. It is great for helping my scattered brain stay focused. I have only 2 issues. The first isthat if the screen is on and the orientation of the phone changes it can mess up the timer. The second is that if the timer is running and I make or receive a phone call the timer stops. This is not convenient when the tasks I am working on are my phone calls for the day. I would like the timer to keep going.

Great App for keeping yourself on track and reminding yourself to move
by MilitaryMikex7 on 2020/08/20 16:01
I do have a hard time staying focused and this app helps exponentially with that. However, I primarily use it for a different reason, to remind myself to get up and move. I love that I can customize my focus time and break times. This allows me to fit in mini workouts throughout the day, helping me get my exercise in despite sitting in front of a computer for work and schools. Great App!!

So helpful with my Adult ADHD!!!
by Chanelle777 on 2020/08/17 20:56
After being diagnosed with ADHD in my late adulthood, meeting in my late 20s… LOL, I had to find ways to figure out how to manage my focus. Even with medication, I still find myself focusing on the wrong things. But this app has been extremely helpful in reminding me to take breaks, and then use my super power of hyperfocus to get things done. I definitely recommend this to a lot of people who are struggling with distractions, and one thing that I would change, is being able to set a title during each focus session so that I know exactly what I should be focusing on. I use stickies at the moment and then crumble them when I’m done (which is so rewarding). Definitely will be using this... without I think I would be homeless because I wouldn’t get any work done. I rarely leave reviews, but this is the GOAT of focus apps. Good job!! (And this comes from a UX Designer btw 🤓)

Incredibly helpful, though not entirely perfect
by Reisa S on 2020/08/14 18:47
This method and timer is incredibly helpful for someone like me that has mental health issues that can get in the way of being productive. I like that the sessions can easily be adjusted and customized for your needs. I do have an issue with the alarm going off, even if my phone is on silent. I’m not sure if it is due to my own phone settings or the app itself. My setting within the app is set to vibrate on silent, but it rings the alarm instead. Either way, I get around it by making sure it’s paused when I know I don’t want it going off. I’ll contact support about it.

Super Helplful App!

I have worked at home even before quarantine and this app continues to keep me on track! It helps me to set reasonable times for tasks as I tend to get hyper focused on things and forget all the other tasks I need to do. I love the sound effects they use as well. It’s like a nice mindfulness bell. I would recommend this to anyone - it has a great UI and is easy to use.
Great

Great tool for enhancing productivity. Getting notifications at random times telling me that it’s time to work and be productive is a little odd though.
Simple, Effective, Elegant

I’ve been using this app for the past three months and it’s been a great tool for keeping on top of tasks each day, ensuring the I focus while incrementally moving forward. Just upgraded to the pro version, which is worth it, but the app is fantastic in either form.
Definitely helped with focusing on my homework
by Ayoooo_ on 2020/08/10 03:47
This has been by far a pretty great study app! The ticking kind of helps me focus better instead of having music. I’m not completely in silence but I’m also not distracted too much! I like the intervals , sometimes when I’m in the zone I don’t even need the breaks!! Overall , this app has been great!
La mejor forma de hacer pomodoros!
by Pau La Mitocondriaca on 2020/08/09 23:32
Excelente app
Pausing glitch
by disqette on 2020/08/08 20:52
The timer keeps pausing during work, so I’ll work for a long time without a break before realizing it paused on its own. I’ll force it to go to the next break, but the time I spent working doesn’t add up because it paused :(
Keeps me going.
by DamnILostMyCheetos on 2020/08/08 19:21
This app really helps you manage your time efficiently. Studying can be daunting, with the way it breaks downtime and is automatic set the break and study time without having to touch your phone is brilliant ! Good luck to you in school or those just trying to do a simple task ! Oh shoutout to YouTube for the funny distracting videos,
Good!!☺️😊

Another ADHD-approved reviewer!
by SEGwrites on 2020/02/24 19:02
After getting diagnosed with Adult ADHD last year, I realized how all these “impenetrable systems” I created over the years became penetrable... although my symptoms were exacerbated by a major hormone shift, it threw me into desperately seeking help to maintain focus as my work as an entrepreneur and writer declined and continued descending rapidly. With that, I re-discovered Pomodoros. What I believe sets this app apart (from the ones that I know of, at least) is the ability to assign sounds and music to intervals and breaks. It’s a great way to keep working, *ding* stop and take a break, [sound] start working again. The constant sound (waves crashing on the shore) while working adds more focus for me as my brain assigns the sound on a loop with relaxation and focus—and it’s automatic so I don’t have to fiddle with the music app and get distracted there too... And now that my hormone situation is back under control, the Pomodoro method is even more effective in keeping my brain engaged when necessary, and queuing me to reward myself when the breaks roll around. The only thing I’d add to improve it is the option to label intervals. For example, in another app I have on my desktop it allows me to identify what exactly I did during those working intervals. (i.e. “Maintenance Tasks” and “Writing” and “Journaling” and “Brainstorming”.) It makes a difference for me, but it definitely isn’t a deal breaker. Five stars! Highly recommend it.
ADHD / ADD APPROVED!!! Yes!!!
by Jasmin-Corvette on 2020/04/09 13:38
Wow! Never in a million years would I have thought that I would gain effective productivity with an app, such as this one! I suffer from anxiety and uncontrollable ADD and my medication to control this challenge, lately, has been effective for my energy (caffeine boost), but I needed something to support me, in addition, to my focus concerns. I have been extremely behind on my work assignments which increases the negative behaviors through my anxiety. I find that I do well, with my medications, combined with a simple tool or self-challenge to hold myself more accountable toward my efforts (or ability) to complete my massive load!!! This app is beyond simple and user friendly and that’s all you need to get your task DONE!!!! I love the fact that I have the ability to change the countdown times, however I see fit for myself in the moment of. I have literally been more productive in my very first time of using this app, that I have in MONTHS! This is my new life saver and I would totally recommend this to ANYONE with ADD/ ADHD. I feel more accomplished and at ease because I am getting my work caught up in long sittings!!! The routine breaks are perfect!!! Prior to the app, I had my life coach advise this on and off rotation for my condition, but it’s not as beneficial or effective as an app that can track your progress! I’m grateful! I think this app saved my job as a director!!! Wow.
Best Pomodoro Timer You Can Get!!
by seasickdyl on 2020/03/19 22:03
Trust me I’ve scoped them all, even written a couple myself (via Shortcuts), but this is the best app on the AppStore if you’re often distracted, unmotivated, or suffer from adult ADHD. I definitely upgraded to pro, worth it to customize my chimes (Pavlov conditioning myself haha), and set the background colors to something I enjoy glancing at all day. The main benefit of this app in my opinion is the tracking/data analytic aspect they perfectly built in. The only thing I wish this app had was a text box you could enter your current task into so that it was present on-screen while the work-session timer is counting down. All in all this is my favorite and most used app whenever I have big tasks to work on or if I ever feel my productivity isn’t at the level where I know it can be. Highly recommend my friends! Edit: One other note, seems the chime settings are a bit backwards. I guess I expect to set the chime sound that would start the session. For example when setting the Focus Alarm to News Is expect that sound to play when I’m going into a new Focus session however I have to set this sound to the other two breaks to get this to play how I intend since the sound for Focus Alarm actually plays when that session is over.
ADHD??? This is your GOD SEND!!!
by kelly etheredge on 2019/11/25 19:20
ADHD?? This is your GOD Send!! I have only been using this APP since this morning and I have already managed to complete several tasks with minimal interference! I’m beyond amazed! Nothing has ever worked for me. Squirrel Moments as my husband fondly calls them would overtake my days to the point that at the end of the day I hadn’t actually accomplished anything but had managed to begin at least 4 or 5 more projects!!! All of my “Projects” would remain unfinished until I HAD to complete one! Even then a 1 hour task, could and usually did, take upwards of 4 or 5 hours and even then maybe still not be completed but always another 3 or 4 would be in the works!! I’m not kidding you! Since this morning I have started and completed one project and finished 3 that were in the works!!! Hallelujah!!! And it’s only 2:15pm!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this App, I’m deleting all the rest except for AnyList!! I use that one daily and now I can actually get everything at the grocery that’s “On the List “. Before AnyList, I always lost the list! 😂 Anyway get this! You will Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙌👍😀
Great app, annoying default tick
by jdidn736 on 2020/05/27 19:17
I love this app! I use it for writing my research book. It can be hard to focus for the long periods of time I need to invest to keep it moving along, and my writing quality declines after I’ve been writing too long without a break. This app is great! I love its short breaks, which hardly take any time out of my work block and make me much more productive. Distraction and writers block is cut short by its alarm—I use my break time to do something physical outside and always feel more mental clarity and refreshment afterward. It is also very convenient not to have to waste time setting alarms, for the app does it all for me. As soon as you download this app, change the default ticking sounds to silence; otherwise, it is tremendously annoying. I would appreciate if the developers would make the sound-setting buttons more sensitive to touch—I had to punch them several times before I could silence the tick. However, that all was a quite minor issue and very easily solved. Overall, a great app!
Pretty Decent
by NobodyUnoe on 2016/10/21 05:12
A simple but effective app to prevent burnout while working or studying (I use it for studying Japanese). The Pomodoro method helps not only with keeping you at your peak of attention span, but also helps with the much more subtle fear that feeds wandering attention and procrastination: the fear that the workload will never end. It's perfect and very comforting for overwhelming tasks that you dread sitting down to tackle. The app itself is so visually simple, it doesn't distract, but reassures you in an easy to read timer. Personally, I customized it, turning off the tick tick sounds on the work sessions and the long break- on work sessions I found it to be stressful, and who wants a timer ticking loudly on their long break away from work? The ticking works well though for the short breaks, to keep you mindful that they're brief. There's also a reminder that rings every Monday at 2pm, suggesting that you plug in for a session, which I rather found adorable. It's kept me from dropping the app and forgetting it, and as a result, put in more regular study time.
Very helpful
by 1jdien-9 on 2018/12/06 00:16
I downloaded this app because I couldn’t get myself to study, I kept either overworking myself studying for hours without a break and could hardly remember anything or just took hour long breaks and couldn’t get myself to focus on studying. With the help of this app I was able to quickly and easily go through my studying without wasting time looking at the paper with no motivation. I find it best to have a 5 minute break every 25-30 mins (which is how long the average person can focus) and with the help of this app I am usually done within 3 hours (usually it took me a whole day, now I have more time) Another thing that I absolutely appreciate about this app is that the free version doesn’t have any ads and that you can use the most important function without paying. I also love the little ring that rings whenever I have a break (you can turn it off!)
Great app, but...
by idealistic.realism on 2020/07/29 18:07
So I’ve only been using this for a few days to help keep my focus on work at home instead of all the background activity that I don’t usually have when I was working in the office. Generally speaking, I really do like this and find it easier to keep my focus on my tasks knowing I’ve got a short break coming up. I like the functionality of the app - I appreciate the simplicity and ease in using it. My only complaint is that, if I have to switch apps, it will stop the clock. I know the point is to focus, but my employer is using a VOIP app to let us answer our calls via our mobile phones while at home, meaning I don’t really have a choice about switching between this and the phone app. But, when I switch back, the timer has often stopped. And, if I forget to switch back and check it, then I’m often sitting there thinking to myself that it seems like a really long 25 minutes! If this bug was fixed, I would absolutely give this app 5 stars.
Got me through crunch-time studying

We’ve all had the heart-dropping-through-stomach, holy-guacamole-I-haven’t-even-STARTED-my-10-page-Literature-paper-due-tomorrow feeling, and it’s a feeling that leaves us hopelessly overwhelmed! I didn’t know what else to do other than, like my fellow Gen Z’ers, to consult my mobile phone (this here iPhone) and seek the counsel of the App Store gods. Profs have recommended to me the Pomodoro technique (4 rounds of 25 minutes working, 5 minute breaking followed by a longer break—I thought it sounded silly but silly is perhaps the best option once you’ve hit rock bottom!) and I knew I couldn’t trust myself to keep myself accountable for the time intervals, so why not use the app? Super simple, no frills, honestly not very fun either but I guess that’s the point, lol. 12/10 would recommend to a friend (or even an enemy). Paper still isn’t done, but here’s to 25-on, 5-off for the rest of this fine evening! Cheers
Almost perfect, the best I've used so far
by katscott93 on 2017/05/03 21:00
I really enjoy this app - it has a clean interface (with NO ads in the free version - much appreciated) and the option to tweak the length of each type of work or break session. It also includes long sessions & breaks, which many of the apps I've tried that rival this one to me, do not include - very big plus, and truer to the pomodoro technique. The only thing so far I can complain about is that the sound alert for new sessions does not take priority over things like music or videos playing in the background - pretty much every other app that has a sound alert will slightly lower the volume of whatever you have playing to allow the chime to be heard, but this one gets drowned out. I either have to not have music playing, or have the app idle and visible so I can notice the sessions changing. I'm not really satisfied with being able to up the volume of the alert - I'd really appreciate if this were updated.
Very Simple & Intuitive
by sheisimperfectt on 2016/11/30 06:11
It's been forever since I've rated an app, but this simple tool helped me perform my best on my recent exam, as well focusing and studying smarter as well. Normally i just try to use my own pomodoro techniques and take mini breaks, but even i get sidetracked and want to linger on my social media a little longer. So having this app is handy, not only for reminders, but also keep track of my study sessions and mini breaks/progress as well. Because of this and because it's aided me to study 'smarter' and to study more efficiently, I've upgraded to the pro and I found it to be worth it (: You just have to believe and push yourself to the best of your ability whether it's in school or for work purposes, just do it. And before using this app, i was overwhelmed with information and which resources to utilize, but having something handy like this, really helped me A LOT. 5/5 😌

by gggggggggggggggggggggeasy on 2020/04/24 21:37
I knew this technique existed, but this app made it so easy to implement. There are three different phases to this timer, and five “rounds”: two 25-min work rounds, two 5-min break rounds, and one 25-min break round. Each different phase has a different sound to it, so it’s easy to know which round is happening without having to pick up your phone and reset. This is a HUGE bonus for me, since picking up my phone is focus suicide. You can leave this open, even with your phone on silent, and still hear the time ticking away, which is enough auditory stimulation for me to focus on what I’m doing. It will go through the phases without you having to touch anything. This is all for free, by the way. Additional customization options are available for a one-time purchase, but the app can stand on its own without these. Perfect! I use this on my iPhone 7 for refs sake
Not too rigid, but you still need self control!
by J9rossi on 2018/12/07 20:13
I love this app because you can also customize The timer based on your own needs. It’s not rigid. So if you’re in a good work flow and don’t really want to stop when it tells you to stop, you just skip the break time to go into the next round. Only thing is that it only starts and stops if you tell it too, so it’s not as disciplinary. Also, it does not lock you from going on snapchat or wherever, so it really is just mind power and self control to not do anything other than work during those 25/whatever minutes. What would be cool is if they had a note/to do setting where if you think of something that you want to be worried about later, you can write it down there and then the break time shows and reminds you the things you quick typed down before. Amazing regardless.
My favorite Pomodoro timer
by Sam941bklyn on 2020/07/19 19:46
Of the many Pomodoro technique timers I’ve downloaded on my phone and desktop to help me stay focused during my work sprints, this has by far been my favorite. I’m a stickler for good, intuitive UX, especially when it comes to productivity apps. The last thing I need when trying to get work done is an app that takes too long to customize or setup! I love that I can readjust my focus segments right there on the timer page with a simple slider, rather than being forced into the options to make a universal change. That way, my focus segments can fit any sort of scheduling fluctuations or preferences that day. Signals and alarms when the segments are up are loud enough over any background focus music I’m using, but aren’t jarring. Overall, I highly recommend this app for anyone needing help to focus and get work done with a simple setup!
Use this app daily for years
by rezzzed on 2020/04/13 18:44
I’ve been using this app almost daily for a few years while writing my dissertation while teaching. It really helps me stay focused and put in the hours needed to get the work done! It also helps me limit the amount of time I put in on tasks that tend to take over my life by reminding me when to take a break. I like the simplicity and design of this app better than other pomodoro apps that I tried. I think it probably works better for those of us that respond well to discipline and rules and structure than for those of us that tend to rebel against such structures, but worth a try for everyone. Also, I paid the extra couple of dollars to unlock features and feel it was definitely worth it because I can adapt the app to my real schedule instead of fitting everything into the pomodoro prescription.
Great app
by notso_tall on 2019/03/08 11:55
It is very very useful for studying. This technique is great but what’s even better is that this app is so simple and provides such a wonderful experience even without paying. There are absolutely no ads and everything functions the way it should. I did end up buying it because it was very cheap to do so and because I used it so much, it was worth the payment of $0.99. With the paid version you just get to tweak things and change things to suit you better but even without the paid version, it’s still so amazing. I decided to change the time intervals to suit me and after a while I just reverted back to the suggested time because it just worked the best for me. I highly recommend this app for its usefulness and because I am thankful to the creators for not bombarding me with ads and making the nonpaid experience perfect!
Easy to use and definitely more focused
by Jeunoh on 2020/07/25 16:21
I like how user friendly this app is!! It’s easily customizable with a simple interfacing allowing minimal distractions. It keeps me accountable for myself. I like getting the notifications letting me know I haven’t used it in a while/“time to get focused”. There is a big difference in my work efficiency when I use this app and when I don’t. (The former being more effective.) I recommended this app to multiple ppl and it has helped them too. I also tried tomato timer using just a regular timer when I didn’t feel like using the app. I think the app is better because of the interface and automatic breaks and focus timers disallowing any pause in between!! Another positive: the small bell announcing the end or start of break is definitely better than the alarm sounds.
Next Right Thing
by Edwardexe on 2019/10/08 22:19
This is a simple app with a powerful outcome. Following the Pomodoro principles, it gets the job done. I use it regularly as a tool for reminding me when to start and stop work. It does require that I actually plan my work before using it. It’s not magic. But it is really effective if used within the Pomodoro principles. I started incorporating the idea of “Throw away your todo list” by Brooke Castillo first. That helps me get all my work organized. Then I use this app as my method for turning off distractions and going to work. I can focus for just 25 mins, come on! All my Fomo quiets down knowing a 5 min break is coming soon. This approach I will attribute to my most productive work year in my 20+ year career, no joke. Again, not magic, but great approach to do the “next right thing.” And that’s generally all you ever really need to do.
Been Using it for Years
by Wattpad2012 on 2019/08/03 18:08
I’ve been using this app for about 2 or 3 years now, and I don’t know what I’d do without it. Simple, easy to use, and EFFECTIVE. I used to think that “being productive” meant working for hours non-stop, but I naturally don’t work that way and find myself getting distracted after a while or spending more time than necessary on an assignment. With this app, I’m able to stay completely focused, take short breaks, and set goals for myself. I like it better than a regular timer because I don’t have to reach out to turn it off when the time’s up. I also bought the premium for just $2 and have total control over session length, background colors, and sounds. Best app for any student or professional who wants to get work done as effectively and painlessly as possible.
Amazingly Helpful
by pasteltears on 2016/12/04 15:53
It's extremely helpful in keeping you focused on any task. There's something about it where you feel satisfied and also like you owe it to the app and yourself to continue. 25 minutes doesn't seem long, and if you do face a passage of your work that isn't capturing your interest, you know that you only need to try until the break, and you'll be able to step away for a few minutes and relax. I'll never study or write papers without this app again. Nothing captures my attention and keeps it more than this app. I could have all the time in the world, but be unable to stick to a schedule, but with this, I can keep myself absolutely focus and undistracted for hours. I only feel accomplishment and pride in what I've done. I cannot recommend this app enough!
Making Pomodoro flexible and personal
by Grandma Leena on 2018/12/22 23:11
First of all, I started using Pomodoro as an older person to help with my arthritis by forcing myself to take short breaks from working on the computer. After success with this I began personalizing by varying work session and break sessions according to what I am doing : meditating, cooking, cleaning. It basically reminds me to keep an alternating standing and moving around vs. sitting time schedule. When I have a particularly difficult task, I use it as a reward system — I extend the long break and take a walk or read a book. I keep a 12 session schedule, and then give myself the evening off — or, alternately take the morning off and begin at noon. I am much more productive, in less pain, and suffer a lot less guilt since I began using Pomodoro.
Must have for university students.
by Sierra Overby on 2019/10/09 00:46
I love this app. I use it every day for school work. I’ll keep it open on my phone so anytime I start to get distracted and pick up my phone, the bright red screen and timer pops up to remind me I’m on the clock. It makes dreadful tasks less dreadful because there is always an end in sight. It makes me feel productive because I can visibly see how much I’ve gotten done. I really like to spend the work period working, and the break period cleaning or doing chores. It’s a good way to be active in between long periods of sitting, keeps me awake, and is a nice way to get chores done in short periods that would have otherwise been spent scrolling on my phone. The pomodoro timer is an excellent way to put some much needed routine into my study sessions.
Great for Procrastinators
by valg• on 2019/08/12 19:17
This app is a great resource to use to successfully space out your time. One thing I learned about me and other procrastinators is that we often over calculate how much time we need for breaks from productivity. Constant excuses keep people from staying on task, and that’s how time loss happens. This app has really helped me to stay focused because you always know there will be a break after a certain period of work, while also not overdoing it. I like to go with the 25:5 ratio, but you can adjust your times according to your needs. This has helped me keep it a habit to be productive with my time, and it’s really easy to use. Definitely suggest you try it out for a few days and see how it goes! (Because it’s really helpful!)
If you have ADHD, get this
by Bananaguy7 on 2017/10/05 03:24
This app is an essential tool for those with ADHD or with any kind of trouble focusing. You turn on the timer, turn off your screen, and then just work until you hear the ding. Then you can rest easy knowing you have a pre-timed break. When you hear another ding, you get back to work. Repeat a few times and you get a longer break. The app does all the timing for you. No need to set ten thousand reminders, you automatically get notified when work time and break time are over. Also, if the default settings for the app (25 min of work, 5 min break) aren't effective for you, you can easily set the times to be different. Maybe you do better with 30 min of work and five minute breaks. An hour of work and 10 minute breaks? You can play around until it fits you. You can also turn off the ticking if it distracts you. This app will not solve everything. You still have to have the willpower to commit to your work. You still have to summon up the strength to start. It won't give you magic concentration powers. It will give you a nice structure with which it is much easier to do your work. Seriously, make use of this great tool.
Great for Difficulty Managing Time
by Bippity-Boppity, Dawg on 2019/03/08 20:53
Sometimes I can’t get myself to start doing work. Once I start the timer though I find it easier to get into flow state and start making progress. Buying the fully version is worth every cent. The adjustability of the Times and sounds and colors. Really the adjustability of the times is a component I find very useful as sometimes I can’t focus for long or need longer breaks. Furthermore it is worth sharing that being able to adjust the number of small breaks to long breaks is useful depending on my energy levels and how much time I have to bargain with. This is a useful and pleasurable app to use. I recommend it to others every time we talk about time management.
Effective yet imperfect
by Collegestudent303 on 2017/01/29 22:06
The app has a great idea and is really simple to use. I like the ticking as a background noise, personally, but it can be shut off for when you aren't studying alone or when it gives you a touch of anxiety about the work. The only thing I didn't particularly find helpful was the pause button on the timer. It allowed me to take breaks during the supposed "work time," so I found myself getting distracted with friends and texts and food... you name it. I guess the good thing about that is when you have the ability to pause for little things like shooting a text to a friend or getting a snack, it keeps you working for the entire work period (default 25 mins). Overall highly recommend the app, as I would have taken much longer to do these assignments without it!
Used to be good
by Shraga!bz on 2019/01/24 09:55
I had this app (the free version) on my older device, it worked perfectly! Switched to a new phone and used the auto backup process to set it and now it is all messed up. First the app version I had didn’t even open (the only app that failed the auto move process), so I had to delete and reinstall it. Then, the new version I installed didn’t support any of the cool features I loved so much, they are all blocked now under the “get pro version” wall. Very poor experience to have it all open and then get a crippled version when upgrading my phone... Ok, so I bought the pro version and guess what, the main feature that made me do it won’t even work!! Trying to set a song from my music library as the ticking sound keep failing, and actually does nothing (won’t even open my songs list to pick from). For me it was the main feature (it is an awesome feature) that distinguished this app from the rest of the similar apps out there. Not only that I could set a song as ticking sound but I could also have it keep playing in the background when other sounds (videos, lectures etc) were playing simultaneously. And now it is all gone.... Rather than that the app is fine but doesn’t offer any key advantage compared to many free timer apps. Please fix it. The app support link leads to a tumblr page 😩 so I had to write this review as a support ticket.
Just about perfect - one minor adjustment
by .C.R.S. on 2019/11/30 14:18
This app is exactly as simple as it needs to be. Easy to maneuver, easy to set and allows you to customise colours/tones for personal preference. HOWEVER, one slight adjustment that I would make is that you can currently only set a different tone to denote the end of a long break, however it would be more useful to have a different tone to denote the beginning of a long break. I try to avoid any interaction with my phone when I am working (and therefore using this app) and naturally I use my breaks differently when I have a long break compared to a short break. At the moment, I have to check the timer to see if I have a short or long break but it would be much more preferable to avoid having the pull my phone out as that reintroduces the distractor.
Best and most simple app ever!!
by breannnanicole on 2020/08/01 23:34
I love this app. It was recommended to me by a friend and I can’t stop using it. It’s really hard for me to stay focused and productive throughout my day. I find myself side tracked easily and always wanting to socially browse. When I got this app to try out I wasn’t sure it was going to work because I’ve used self timers before. But for some reason the presentation of the timer, the ticking sound of the clock showing time passing by, makes me more motivated to stay focused and get my stuff done. I only have the free version but I am looking at getting the pro so I can set my own goals and times. 100% recommend this app!! And I also never rate things but thought this app was worth it!!
Effective for studying but underhanded in selling pro version
by Focus_123 on 2020/03/30 00:21
I’ve never written a review for an app before but I felt like I had to warn other people. First of all, credit where it is due, this app is effective. It is set to the traditional pomodoro technique as a default: four rounds of 25/5 minute study/break sessions followed by a longer break. I found it worked very well when I was studying. When I was poking around in the settings I noticed there were some settings that I couldn’t change without buying the “Pro” version. That’s normal. HOWEVER hidden at the bottom of the settings menu is a button labeled “Restore Pro” which when I clicked it, bought the Pro version of the app without giving me a chance to authenticate it. I didn’t intend to buy the Pro version. Because of the underhanded tactics I can’t give it 5 stars.
Work Smarter and Get More Accomplished
by easy2focus on 2020/01/09 03:20
Focus Keeper enables me intense focus for my studies. By breaking up study sessions into 25 minute blocks it is never too daunting to get started. The 5 minute breaks are a fantastic respite and keep me from getting off task while I study (when I get tempted by a distraction I think, “No, I’ll do that when the bell rings.”) And the 25 minutes FLY and I get super absorbed in the content. Five minute break is plenty and then I easily dive back in. I like this system so much that I even use it to motivate myself to complete chores that I am prone to put off. 25 minutes cleaning out a closet, 5 minute break, 25 minutes more cleaning closet, etc. I tutor students and I introduce this app to each of them. Most LOVE it.
Great all-around
by cmc26_whyarethesealltaken on 2019/11/29 16:34
I like this app because unlike other apps similar to it, you can leave your phone on do not disturb and still get the notifications from this app. That way, this app helps you stay on track without getting distracted by other phone notifications. It also allows you to skip, shorten, and extend breaks and work sessions. This app also automatically resets the timer for each new day as you sleep (you can change the time for it to reset in settings if you're typically up past midnight). One slightly annoying thing is that if you get a phone call while the timer is going, it will automatically pause itself when the call ends.
Simply Fantastic
by Tsarina9 on 2018/07/22 19:59
This is the first app I have ever rated, and the app I have stuck with longer than anything. I've used it for 3 months now and it's just amazing. So simple. The method is fantastic: work for 25 minutes without a break or distraction, then you are rewarded with a 5 minute break. This is so effective for the human brain because we inherently respond to structure and reward. It is very hard to be productive without structure and reward anticipation. This app allows me to be more productive than I have ever been in my life - and consistently, too! I was able to get through extremely long and boring textbooks in the span of a week. Thank you so much for this app. Amazing. I will use it forever.
Helped me pass college
by Leo_da_kid on 2020/05/01 06:52
I’ve always been bad with time management, especially during studying or staying on schedule. I watched a video where Jordan Peterson said if you want to succeed, split your goal into measurable units. I chose time as my unit to get stuff done. Purchasing the extra features were worth it so I can customize my study time and how many sessions before I get a break. So worth it!! Next thing you know, I was getting assignments done, I was aware of the time and able to catch the bus, and slip in some study time if I was in between classes. I did amazing my last semester of college and graduated. I wonder why I didn’t use it before. I highly recommend to anyone!!
Very simple clean UI with good product focus
by timothi_banks on 2020/06/23 18:25
I bought the pro Version of this app, and I really appreciate the focus of “focus” app (pun intended). Not a ton of bloated features, just the focus intervals (and plenty of customizations to look and feel / interval timings). I use this app while coding to get focused tasks done. In a world of slack messages, iMessages, emails, social media and noisy app notifications, it’s amazing we are able to get anything done at all. Additionally, these constant distractions, without breaks, cause stress response in the body. This app helps me be more sustainable as a developer, and take better care of my mental and emotional well being. UPDATE: edited to four stars, because a Apple Watch app for this would be epic. Using some haptic taps to signify breaks versus work.…😍
Gets the Job Done
by If a Philosopher Had ADD on 2020/05/28 18:01
I really enjoy this application, as someone with ADD having such a tool is really helpful to keep me organized and staying on task with a sustained amount of energy. However, I do wish that the long break time could be tweaked without having the PRO version and also it’d be nice if there could be a checklist where there’s a task I’m working on for 4 rounds. There’s a similar application (that has the qualities I stated aboveI prefer over this one, that I use on my laptop. (I forget the name, and my laptops broken, but it’s in the App Store). I will be trying other pomodoro timers to see if there’s a better fit- but this definitely does the job with a clean not-distracting look! I hope my thoughts don’t seem too jumbled in this review, lol.
Delivers what it promises beautifully, which is rare nowadays
by Tenshi Sora on 2020/02/23 22:50
This app is simple but powerful. I have been using it recently to study and it has helped me stay focused. In a day where ads rule the apps, this is the 2nd one where I am glad to pay for it (even if I don’t use the paid things) just to support the app developers. Great app all around! If I could criticize one thing it would be that on mobile, if you have a iPhone X and higher, you will accidentally stop/start the timer if you have the phone on it’s side and you switch apps or go to the home screen. Apparently it recognizes the gesture as a tap on the timer. Minor but this app still deserves the 5 stars
Best Pomodoro App: clean + customizable
by Edward Dansen on 2019/04/18 13:56
This is the best Pomodoro app I’ve tried. It manages to strike a nice balance between staying simple and clean, but offering a lot of customization. I also really like that this app will allow you to receive notifications while Do Not Disturb is on. The other Pomodoro apps I tried do not have this feature, which I find to be quite important so I can hear the Pomodoro alarm without being distracted by other notifications. The only con I see is that this app does not offer an Apple Watch version. I don’t currently own an Apple Watch, but I may get one at some point, which would require me to start using a different app.
The App is Gold
by MusicJourneys on 2018/11/01 21:49
I’ve never written a review before, but this app deserves it. I tried 7 or 8 other Pomodoro style timers and while they work, they were either ugly, overly busy, or distracting or so simple that they weren’t much better than the Timer app. Life requires flexibility. This app lets you change everything, but is also structured. I love being able to increase or decrease session and/or break times on the fly. I like being able to change colors. I like that the timer itself is what is big on the screen. I did pay the $1.99 to be able to change the extra options. Worth the cost. This app developer talent is in knowing how to make it powerful and simple. The other apps frustrated the heck out of me. This app works more naturally and flexibly, while still giving you all the structure you may want. One or two others were close, but were too rigid or ugly. This is a great daily companion app! 5-Stars easily! Worth the price. No annoying nags or up sells. Complete control over sounds, etc. Perfection!
Great app for focused work
by MamazinhaBR on 2017/06/02 02:09
This app is sooo good! I am doing a PhD, which means that I have to be very disciplined with doing focused work every day. Some texts that I have to read are very difficult and sometimes I lack the motivation. This app has helped me to create a study routine, keep track of amount of my focused work every day, and has boosted my motivation to work, especially on difficult readings. I just finished writing 2,500 words today just in a few hours, and it was with help of the app. I wouldn't had done so fast before. Also, the 5-min break is awesome to remind me to get up and move a little. This app changed my day to day work!!
Great, but one feature missing!
by JackHouston on 2018/02/16 14:36
I love this app and have purchase the full version. However, there is one glaring omission: "Volume of Break." Although I appreciate being able to make the alarm super loud, I don't particularly want the ticking to be more than barely audible. It has two different volume adjustments for "alarm" and "ticking," and that's great. What it does not have, is a volume for the only other mode which is "break." I would like to keep the alarm at 10, the ticking at 2, and maybe the ambient "break" soundtrack at a nice medium 5 or 6. It typically quieter and less grating than the ticking sound (although you can choose the sound yourself), and I'd like to be able to hear it a little better.

Thank you thank you thank you!

I’m a slacker but, man, does this timer keep me on track! I’m not sure why a normal timer doesn’t work for me...? But this sure is a god send! I DREAD projects I don’t like doing but after reading about time-chunking, I followed up by finding and downloading this app. Thank you for creating it. It has definitely made my messy time-management more manageable. Last year, I had to file an extension for 2018 taxes...I didn’t even START my accounting process until June because I dreaded it so much. This year, my taxes are done ready to go! I honestly can’t believe why you guys don’t have a 5 out of 5 rating!
Great with a couple issues
by cs31415 on 2020/01/24 19:52
Overall I like this app and got the paid version. Just a couple of minor annoyances: 1. The most recent update seems to not have been tested on smaller form factor phones (iPhone SE etc). The app displays black bars on the top and bottom and doesn’t fill the screen. 2. If headphones are removed the ticking sound continues playing on the speaker. This is annoying - especially when a boss will interrupt me and I have to pull out my AirPods - the ticking can be loudly heard on the phone speaker and I have to frantically turn it off. An option to only play the ticking on headphones or to stop/pause the ticker when headphones are pulled out would be very helpful.

Upgraded for $1.99 to help customize Pomo time and break times. I appreciate you,re not bombarded with ads on free version, is that an IOS thing? I recommend if you need to get stuff done mainly using it for study, in fact I’m on my 30 minute break cycle now.

by Neens17 on 2020/09/21 22:09
I started using this app in grad school to help me manage my time while studying and writing.
AMAZING

As a student, I procrastinate a lot and I can barely stay focused. I used Focus Keeper to help me with it and it works! All the tiny breaks I get, and the long breaks are truly amazing. I haven’t done as much school work until now! Definitely recommending it to my fellow peers! College students if you’re here reading this, trust me! This app is a life saver!
Excellent!

by Ifiwasrichboy on 2020/09/20 14:40
While I used this for focus pomodoro technique, I also use it for few different purposes like Quick countdown timer. I love how it uses subtle ticking sound -adjustable. Prevent screen sleep. I wish there is option to reset the session. Because sometimes i forget to stop clock when I stopped study.

Super simple. I love the option to have the ticking sound. If you don’t want the sound, you can turn it off. Also, I like to have the ticking sound play along with my background music. I can still play music in my iTunes AND have the ticking sound too.

Wow!

Really helpful with studying and helps me be a lot more productive. You cannot reset the rounds whenever you want which can be annoying sometimes but it’s hardly a problem. Overall it’s more than helpful
Amazing!!!
by @Ewawa!song on 2020/09/09 16:09
I’m a young person with ADHD and I have trouble staying on task, or hyper focusing and not giving myself a break.
Simple yet Powerful

by Somsomy4 on 2020/09/06 04:59
Clean, simple design.

I like the intervals , sometimes when I’m in the zone I don’t even need the breaks!! Overall , this app has been great!

Excelente app

Great for work/studying

As a perpetually busy grad student, this app has been a life saver. I can’t tell you how many times I lost hours by frustratingly throwing myself into the same assignments feeling like I couldn’t possible take a break without falling behind. Or even sometimes because I was ALREADY behind. Using this app to remind myself of the natural limits of the human attention span has really forced me to take better care of myself. And really 5 minutes is usually all I need to come back refreshed for another 25 minutes. I’m spending less time doing work, getting a lot more done, and winding up with far fewer headaches.
