Surprisingly Not Great
by Fail2765 on 2019/12/07 21:37
Seeing that similar software (like Adobe Photoshop on Windows) is being used by professionals, I made the dumb assumption thinking this would be almost just as good. The main thing that totally stinks about the app is the poor selection of brushes. I would figure there would be far more than there was available, but I guess that’s what I get for getting something free, comparing this app to Sketchbook, which has far more brushes and is also free. Lastly, it is very difficult to draw straight lines. Even the slightest movement of your hand or shoulder causes the line to squiggle, and it just looks flat out awful. For a doodle pad, go ahead and download it, but if you’re animating or even just doing portraits go with something free like Autodesk Sketchbook, or something paid like Procreate.
Wow...

Adobe sketch
by Nim62 on 2019/12/06 14:06
The app is great. Only lacks color sampling to match. These features will greatly enhance the use of the app. It also needs to correct the undo redo feature. There is no redo arrow now.
Best Game Ever

Adobe sketch is wonderful!
by poisonous vipers on 2019/11/29 13:15
I use Adobe sketch all the time it is a very good app I really like it . To me it’s easier to do our crafts on an iPad because it’s fun also you can doodle or use pictures to craft . It’s really really fun you can do a lot of projects you can even use pictures off safari that you want to use for your crafts. Adobe sketch also saves your projects. But even if you don’t like it it’s still a really fun app I recommend it I recommend to anyone reading this they should try out adobe spark it’s a fun app to do on Cold days, rainy days, or super sunny days or it’s too hot to go outside .have fun with adobe spark
It’s Now Necessary to Create an Account...

To even use the software. This is why we all leave Adobe products. Enough is not offered to justify the ridiculous subscription costs.
Pretty snappy
by Igenoooooooo on 2019/11/27 18:09
I’m loving it. Great brushes and everything. There is only one thing. It keeps crashing, and when it does, it deletes little things. Like it didn’t save shading, or reset my brushes, and even duplicated some of my projects. Other than that, it is an amazing app, I am very glad I found it.

Sketch=Great App. Why Discontinue?
by The Buddha Rats on 2019/11/26 19:30
Adobe Sketch is a great app. I do the majority of my character designing in Sketch: It’s stable, with rock solid digital art supplies included free. It also has the ability to import Photoshop brushes and after 23 years on Photoshop, I have tons of brushes. I was also one of the lucky ones to have purchased Kyle’s brushes *before* he sold them to Adobe, who then proceeded to lock down those brushes and tie them to Photoshop and recently Fresco. Now lets discuss the doomed to fail Fresco. Fresco cannot replace Sketch. Why? Because it’s cluttered, crash-prone and trying too hard compete with Procreate. Fresco will not ever be able to compete with Procreate. Adobe: Read that sentence again. Procreate is stable, enhanceable with add-ons and is a one-time price of $9.99. Why on Earth would anyone “lease” Fresco for $9.99 a month? Adobe, you’re getting greedy and your “everyone will want to lease this app because we made it” mentality will come back to haunt you. Kindly keep Sketch in the line. It’s simple to use, powerful, flexible and everything an artist needs without all the unnecessary bells and whistles that makes Fresco bloated and not fun to work with.
Awesome!

This has the greatest pencil tool out of any drawing ap you will find.
I like it but
by bluedolls on 2019/11/23 21:37
So I really really like this! But I have a few suggestions: - add a fill tool - word tool - more kinds of pencils As a comic artist I find it annoying that you need to write every thing by hand. A text tool would be nice. Having to color in every thing in is a PAIN can there be a fill tool? I love graphite more pencils would be nice! Thx - bluedolls

I have been using this for just 1 week and it’s the best thing I have seen. There are no random ads and you can draw freely and do what you like there is also no shortage of drawings I already drew 28 drawing. Also the paint is so realistic I recommend this to anyone who loves drawing and if you don’t you will love it after this app experience
So simple to use
by bluefeatherfantasyart on 2019/11/22 21:17
I have two other drawing apps but use this one all of the time because it is so easy to understand and use. I can do complex drawings or simple sketches with the easy to use tools and I can save and attach to a text or send to Facebook - love the simplicity of this app.
Well yes, but actually no
by KlanceIsCanonKing69 on 2019/11/17 23:45
Alright, this app is actually great for drawing offline and just having a snazzy car ride to school, or when you get bored and you have a while until you get somewhere. What it isn’t is something you can use to make full on masterpieces. It’s being said by a lot of people that there aren’t enough brushes and stuff but I’d like to emphasize the fact that it literally says “are you an artist on the go?” That means, translated into regular people talk, “are you sitting on a bus right now bored out of your mind?”. It’s intended use is for you to sketch and draw on it while your sitting on some subway train or in your moms car. Just so you know, don’t get this app expecting to get a masterpiece maker, it’s not that. It’s still awesome to pass the time. Also, if you see this developers, I’d really love a feature that allows you to insert pictures into it and edit them, it would be fun. Thanks for reading this, -Vwenties

This is great for my artwork! Really brings it to life!
by IcePrince13 on 2019/11/08 09:35
This app has been my most favorite to use, because I am always constantly drawing something I think about! It’s a very essential tool for me to use to express my ideas in ways I never could’ve imagined! But the one thing I really hope it could have, is the option to fill color into a certain part of the character I am designing, instead of always having to fill the characters in with color the old-fashioned way. If I could get a shape fill option on this app, I would really appreciate it!

TRASHY, FAKE , AND HORRIBLE , I DEMAND SOME SERIOUS CONTACT OR MY LAWYER WILL GET INVOLVED. SINCERLY FROM KAREN. TIKTOK EVEN WORKS BETTER THEN THIS TRASH- FROM THAT ONE TROLLER LOL
Awesome app. Minor issue
by fdnnfxcfdbd on 2019/10/09 20:11
I love this app, it really helps me improve my drawing skills. But there is one small issue, when I press the undo button accidentally, it undos and there is no redo button. Please put in a redo button! Also, ads for adobe fresco keep popping up but I do not have the right equipment so I cant get it, this is really annoying. Please fix these small things. And also sometimes the pens do not work very well and it makes my drawing look bad, with all these random blotches all over it. Thank you! Edit: I apologize, I I did not realize that you just have to hold the “undo” button for the redo button. Sorry!
Why I rate four.
by Radar86 on 2019/10/08 16:17
It’s becuase I Don’t like the way you can’t play with them like my town and toca life World. You know, how you can put them in beds,go to a tailor and make clothes for them and then put the clothes on, swim in a pool, listen to music that you picked from your library, go to a salon, buy groceries, see movies, get a pet, go to school, name them, make friends, Live in a house, Getvin the car and go to the car wash, go to restaurant, Visit your friends. If you do all this, I will love you literally forever. So pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssssseeeeee do it. And the next time you ask me to rate after you do this, I will rate as high as I can go. Please do it.

Problem with deleting files
by kachionyeka7 on 2019/09/30 01:08
The app is good, but there’s an issue I have with the app. Due to too many files I keep drawing, the app tells me my storage is full. When I try to delete the files that I don’t need, they keep reappearing back! I don’t get it! How do I delete it for good?! No matter how many times I delete and redownload the app, the file is still there and when I try to delete, it still reappears. Please help with this issue.
AMAZING!!!! 100+ Star Map 😁😁😁😁😁
by Sarah Taurus on 2019/09/29 02:27
I love this app so much. It is amazing compared to any other app or drawing program there is. This app has the ALL the exact same functions as photoshop cc which is a whopping $250 a year and this app is 100% FREE!!!! It has many unique features such as moving something you already drew as well as a burn effect. Highly recommend this app I use it to draw all the time and it is great!!!! Deserves way more than five stars!!!!!
2 years now and things are still the same
by Elskeleto on 2019/09/26 10:31
Amazing app but ridiculous. Been doing some research and file functionality and managing your brushes still seems to be a feature that’s "brushed" aside. No option to delete brushes transferred from the CC files to iPad. You cannot move or rename them either. No way of telling if you already uploaded your brushes while navigating through the CC folder. If you get a duplicate of over 300 brushes your out of luck. Official forums from over a year ago only offer a solution to uninstall. The other option is just plain ridiculous. They want you to delete your brushes form CC, but that still doesn’t tell me where they went on my device. I don’t even know if the duplicates were removed when I reinstalled the app because IOS and adobe won’t allow me the access to that kind of quality of life. The brushes are the only appeal to this app currently because I use them on my PC. UPDATE:Brushes are still there and did not delete. I like to stay in control and organized so this really turns me away from the app. UPDATE 2: Wiped my CC folder. Reinstalled Sketch. Brushes still present, so they’re hidden in the app somehow
Bug Report

Great app but libraries brush panel needs a view by group
by dragonball z is better on 2019/09/14 21:32
Okay so this is little but it’s really annoying. in the libraries panel when you import brushes I wish there was an option to also view by group, because I import my brushes from photoshop cc desktop I have a library called brushes and in my brushes library I have them group by name for example lense flare brushes, smoke brushes, cartoon brushes,ects... all in a their group but all under the same library, but when I open adobe sketch and go to the brushes panel all the brushes are in the same library with no option to see them by group like in the desktop version of libraries, so I have to scroll through 100 brushes just to find the brush I need I hope you guys add this cause I would hate to just make a new library for every single set of brushes. I mean it shouldn’t be hard it’s already an option to group in the desktop apps just wish the mobile was the same. Thank you

by candygamer22 on 2019/08/31 18:40
I think this app is AMAZING and it’s great. I do wish it had some like select and duplicate tools, that’s the only reason it’s 4 stars. Other than that this app is PERFECT ❤️❤️ I also use this app to make comics, using each layer as a panel. I love it and it works for everything I want.
Almost awesome...but just a toy
by Jay Wheezie on 2019/08/30 17:17
This app is a fun toy… just don’t pay for it like it’s an actual work tool. There’s no way to transfer your layered work—because the app does not allow you to (re)import images with layers: FLAT IMAGES ONLY. Apparently, this is a frustrating problem for a number of users…as you can find numerous of requests for this feature on the Adobe forums, dating back to 2017.

Hello! I do not write reviews often, simply because I didn’t feel the need to do so or my review would go unnoticed. That aside, I’ve been using your Adobe applications after receiving a grant a few years ago. Your apps have helped me through my college years and even after graduation. I work as a freelance artist, animator and character designer. Sometimes I dab a bit in graphic design when handling business logos. Anyway, before I get carried away, I’d simply like to thank you for creating these apps. They’ve been nothing but helpful for me and have made things easier in my life. Out of the four years I’ve been using your apps I only came into one problem a few weeks ago in my Adobe Draw app. I wasn’t quite sure what happened but the matter was fixed in less than half an hour so no harm was done thankfully. If it isn’t asking too much, would it be possible to install an “import .mov” in your adobe draw and adobe sketch apps? I work on my tablet a majority of the time and even use another app that connects to my laptop wirelessly and allows for me to use it as a drawing tablet. Which in turn allows for me to actually animate from my laptop and not having to go out to buy a tablet, so thanks for that Apple! My reason for asking about importing movies in these apps is so that I could animate in those as well. I do my background designs for animations in both applications and just thought I’d ask on the matter if it could be a possibility. That is all I can think of so, I guess I voiced all of my thoughts. Thank you for reading through all of this if you have. I also apologizing for typing so much. Hope you have a wonderful day! Sincerely, Jazmyne

Less features than a low tier app developer.
by the second best illustrator on 2019/08/22 09:23
I am using my iPad Pro 2018 as my digital tablet. You can not import images from adobe photo express. You can not import any images from any where except illustrator cloud. You can not import *.psd files. You can not send feedback from within the app because the option button doesn’t work. This app is horrid on features from a top tier developer, when the newbies give better features for free. I expect more from a company whom I have spent over $2k in the past on software. I just gave a company $3.99 and got an app that kicks adobe sketch off the option table, no crap subscriptions. Look else where. One good thing is it is free to try out, so you know how terrible and lacking the app is. Do better adobe. Please.
Fix something please

There is one ... ok two, major things that is missing that could make this app PERFECT
by xammax2019 on 2019/08/15 18:54
There are two things that are missing from this app 1. A free selection tool “lasso” tool so that we can select and area and then only edit that area in the layer. 2. A magic selection tool. By this I mean a tool that selects everything that is ... for example... RED, or within a border of some sort. For example if I draw a odd ball circle, I can use the magic tool to select the inner boundaries of that circle and dump a bunch or red in it, saving artists tones of time and frustration 😉. Can you guys do that? Because it would make this app literally perfect. A smudge tool would be amazing also. ✌️ I hope to hear back from you with an update. Otherwise I love the app.
I. Love. This.

I learned photoshop and illustrator in the early 2000s , and just recently getting back into thedigital world this. seem’s to be a simpler version of both, allowing you to take photos and make them into sketch layers to manipulate anyway you see fit. Seems easy to use and it’s especially nice to use w/ the Apple Pencil

Fix the storage issue
by feddddddd tf up on 2019/08/05 21:28
When I'm out of space there shouldn't be a pop up telling me that I'm out of storage... Not offering me any info on how to clear up the said storage. It's redundant. If there is a way to work around it, then the information should be provided to us within the app. The entire app should go idle over a simple storage issue. I shouldn't have to Google how to fix this issue. It's time consuming. "Try freeing up space by using other apps" is way to vague and not helpful at all.
Bluetooth stylus connect
by dersedreamer2 on 2019/08/05 04:54
I used to use this on my old iPad and I could connect my Adonit stylus to the app but now on my new iPad with the recent update the app just focuses on the Apple Pencil and completely removes the feature of connecting another stylus. I don’t get it, did Apple pay you guys to strip this feature for no reason or something? I can still use my stylus without connecting it but it doesn’t work right and now I don’t have an option for it to not detect my hand and the app undoes half of my strokes randomly. I would like to see the stylus connection feature back. As a long time subscriber to adobe creative cloud programs, I’m very disappointed and feel like I’ve wasted my money on a sellout brand.
Very good
by akardont on 2019/08/01 18:02
Very good app addictive. The only thing that would be cool is if we could copy an individual layer within the work. Also cropping tools, especially along the outlines of a figure along with copy paste would be great. But besides that for a free app it’s amazing

by Scott63339 on 2019/07/15 03:57
This app has turned me, someone who can’t draw into someone who kind of can now! I’ve even sold some of my work thank you for this product and please continue supporting it.
Versatile and easy, but....
by OutPsyder on 2019/07/12 06:13
Could use a lot more brush options to work with. Colors and layers blend nicely, but would also like to see an option to lock layers added so I don’t accidentally select a layer.
Really nice.
by Christismellow on 2019/07/09 19:52
If you add a proper eye dropper that can be set to a gesture and clipping masks I will give this 5 stars!
LOVE THIS APP!

Thank you so much for this app! There’s so much you could do !!!!!
What I think

Ok so this app is amazing I just started but it helps my inner me come out and it is so easy to express my feelings through pictures I made on this and it is just all out amazing and I suggest this app bit this app may not be for everyone some people will prefer a different app and not feel the same way about this app like o do but I think this app is amazing and I recommend it thank you for your time
It’s good. Amazing arts on here
by Gacha_Puppy_Kitties on 2019/07/04 20:32
The thing about this is it brings that art from the world to life and the thought of this app being on the internet is just, amazing. Thank you for making this.
This is a good app

I love using this app but at the same time it doesn’t work on my computer like using my computer because I can use drawing tablet please fix this thanks
Some improvements can be made
by Q.O.H ❤️ on 2019/07/02 00:02
Like for example, I would love a select tool so I won't have to draw everything in separate layers, just Incase I mess up. I think a blending tool would be great, just to fade/blend the colors together. And a fill tool would be nice as well. But I love this app! It's my favorite for sketching, but I use other apps for coloring because they have the things listed above *^*
Is good

Lovely
by newtegon on 2019/06/30 18:34
I love how simple and lightweight the program feels. It’s great to just get to the business of drawing. However the lack of a blend tool and no default crisp hard edge brush are some big holdups and I can find these as suggestions from users from years ago. Closer to 3.5 overall and we’ll see if I can stick with it without a blend feature. The base interface is really great though and I love that.
Awful
by Doodledoobie on 2019/06/29 18:01
I was gonna give it a 2 star rating for how easily it works, but I want people to see this. Anyway, you guys seriously need to give us more storage space, it isn’t very fair how we can only draw like 10 things and then you can say “not enough space, free up more to continue” Useless and pathetic art app, don’t download it. Also, I’ll be switching, bye Adobe, it was fun.
Like this very much: I am a total amateur

So it’s taking time to learn how to use this. But I’m so grateful to find it. 😊
Adobe CC: 25 Apps = 25 Tasks (the Walmrt of Design)
by youtzful_idiot on 2019/06/27 07:30
I pay $20 a month for 1,000 CC apps bc Adobe can only implement one feature per app, apparently. PS19 crashes every five minutes on my 2018 SB2 (which cost $2400.00) as does illustrator, Mix & LR. This caused me to go buy an iPad (+$800) and now I’m stuck with these garbage apps on my SB2 and my IOS device YAY. Adobe couldn’t integrate adobe mix and adobe sketch bc apparently that’s too technical in the year two thousand and nineteen so I’m constantly swapping between apps. To top it all off there’s a ginormous dot at the tip of every brush that’s BLOCKING MY VISION TO SEE WHERE IM DRAWING so every single project ends up being a 100% waste of time. Why try to draw anything in detail if I can’t see where I’m drawing? What in the actual is the point of a huge dot on the screen instead of the actual work on screen? Oh that’s right it’s to endure I throw away every sketch created bc trash belongs in the garbage.
Limited tools but superior to most other free apps
by d. conde on 2019/06/23 01:52
Limited tools but good for a beginning artist, polygons and a decent variety of brushes and blending modes make it easy to create fully lined, colored pieces. Definitely not as full a tool set as something like firealpaca, but great for an artist on the move, far better quality than most drawing apps I have tried.
Inaccurate brush strokes
by i-rev on 2019/06/21 04:35
I’ve compared this to my actual oil and water colors, and it is far too inaccurate. The brush strokes just plain lack in every way and are not realistic.
Great app for creative expressions.
by Kimb4h on 2019/06/21 01:24
I enjoy Sketch and its illustrative capability. It is my select source for drawing and conceptualization. I wish that layers were able to be skewed as a transform option.
Ok I love it butt it’s a bit frustrating
by turtle loverrrrrrr🐢 on 2019/06/20 03:11
Ok so it’s a beautiful app but it’s just kinda hard because you don’t have a lasso and a selection icon that could help a lot And maybe a much better color bucket. Just pls add some things that could really help
Its amazing but............

Iv been doing gacha edits and my friend walks up with ibispaint and shows me her edits and they were amazing unlike mine but the were shading one so i asked can you teach me and she said sure and she yoused a blend tool sowhat im trying to say is I NEED A BLEND TOOL!!
Needs two things✌️
by davinci fanatic on 2019/06/18 15:55
Okay, I used to absolutely love this app, I did everything not it. Than not so much. I saw two serious flaws that can really mess up your artwork. That can really downgrade it. Adobe, listen, you need a BLENDING TOOL. Second, you need a dip pen brush or a new brush other than the ones you have. A sharper brush instead of the softer brushes you have. Thank you 🙏
Great Software

Starting using your software or business logo creation and website sketches. Works fantastic!
Not enjoying!
by teaellen2003 on 2019/06/16 00:12
I am very frustrated with lack of tutorial help for this app. How do I get shape snap? Why is it so difficult to get a brush or an eraser that works? What’s up with the color flow or trying to adjust a circle size or shape? I will go back to other drawing apps. Thought that as this was Adobe it would be a great app. This stinks! Bye until it works!

I’m Loving it. My Art drive is back 30+ years later..
by kevjles on 2018/08/17 01:27
Being a car nut since playing with HotWheels as a kid, My love for cars grew to model cars and eventually Art. After taking Art in JR High I spent hours sketching various cars which I loved but knew I could probably never obtain in real life. Years later headed to work with my prized Automotive Artwork to share with some Co-workers, a freak thunderstorm swept through my car and sucked all of my work out through the passenger window at 65mph and scattered it into a flooding river along the Highway. Lost forever I was immediately sickened knowing I had just watched every memory and piece of art I had created since grade school to that point in time blow right out of the window. This was way before Smart Phones, Apps and electronic storage. Fast forward to this year 2018 using my iPad Pro for work I discovered Adobe Sketch for field drawings and documentation of construction projects. Bored one night I decided to try to recapture my passion for art drawing a vintage VW Bus for a friend who heads up a world wide social media site using Adobe Sketch. After spending over 8 hours doing my first ever Full Color Rendering I posted it on the site. I immediately watched as the likes began to poor in. I’m now back in the world of art which I once Loved thanks to this Amazing tool called Adobe Sketch.. Many sincere thanks to the creators of this Amazing App.... Kevin Lesley , Kev~Rod Designs...

Blown away by the watercolor in this app
by sorchay on 2018/05/17 03:45
Kudos to whoever programmed the watercolor part of this app! This is my favorite painting app by far, and I’ve tried several including the most popular and paid art apps. What keeps me coming back (addicted!) to Adobe Sketch is the beautiful subtlety of how the paint interacts with the surface. Other apps can achieve fairly realistic edges and blending, but with my brush stylus and this app, I feel like I’m painting with watercolor, the way real watercolor works. I forget that I’m working in digital format because the tools seem to work the same way. The paper is “wet” at first and the paint interacts with it, spreads and dries down. Washes interact with each other, and the flow setting is so intuitive, works the same as deciding water to pigment ratio. This app is so realistic I even found myself instinctively lifting paint. Not erasing, but lifting with water just as I would in real life. Love the rest of the app too but I’m especially appreciative of the obvious care that went into the watercolor functions. Thanks! One wish: it would round out the experience if I could have a palette of preselected colors set out instead of choosing anew each time I change colors, but I get by with the color picker. It’s just a little slower than having key colors already “mixed” and at the ready while I paint.
Almost 5 star worthy, BUT.
by Phhhhhhhhhhhooommm on 2017/08/20 01:54
Ok so let's start with the downs. Can't zoom in very much, needs few more starting brushes ( not that big of a deal ). And where you can put pictures in it so you can edit them, now I do not know a lot in this (I just know the basics so if there is a way I will probably find out soon). 😐😍 it's really good also because it has layers and I love the " paint brush " with the paint texture it's AMAZING definitely my favorite brush out of all of them I've tried so far. If you could make the paint brush be able to be more fine/thin that would be great 👍🏻😃😄. I love this and I'd say it's about 7 out of 10 compared to a general PC version. I think all it needs is a few tweaks to be one of the best ( maybe even the best ) photoshop/editing program on the App Store. This is probably the BEST photoshop type thing I've tried besides sketch book ( another one for IOS App Store ). Overall this is great and I use it every day to improve my editing/ animation skills, I also like to do this as a hobby ( when I'm bored ) or just for fun. 😄 ( edit ) Please make it so we can zoom in more... I animate on this and I love this app but I wish we could zoom in a little bit more. Please add this and this will be better this is already AMAZING! 😄.
RIP Adobe
by Scamyou on 2018/02/13 21:55
Adobe’s creative ecosystem makes it almost impossible to be creative without signing up, signing in, digging into your bank account.... monthly, working without a network connection and paying for another upgrade to the application. I’ve been working with Apple products since 1989 and I consider myself to be fairly tech oriented. I bought an iPad Pro specifically to work with lightroom and other Adobe products. Honestly, I can’t get half of their products to work anymore. Unless you are some kind of Adobe fan boy, you will realize that there are other products out there that far surpass the performance and price of most Adobe products. Save the monthly fees and your sanity from trying to get this bloatware to operate as you would expect and FIND ANOTHER WAY. Adobe was is king once upon a time but all empires eventually collapse. Adobe is more interested in connecting to your bank account for its monthly extraction than it is interested in creating a product that are actually useful. I don’t want your slow cloud, I don’t want to be stressed out with my machine can’t remember my Adobe ID so that I can use your app, I don’t want another monthly fee so that the application that I already purchased will do what it should already do. Skip this product and go give your money to a developer who will actually make your creative experience seamless and enjoyable. Like Procreate. Now I’m gonna go delete all of adobes applications off of my iPad Pro and I will never look back.
It’s amazing, and free
by Leafeon :3 on 2019/01/04 01:43
I’ve been using this app for a while now (two or three years, maybe?) and its REALLY GOOD. Of course it has its downsides, like limitations on certain things such as the layers and brush sizes, but otherwise, its great. Besides, its free. At the same time, there are some features I would like to have. For one, it would be really nice to have a fill/paint bucket tool. It’s really time consuming to finish the line art of a drawing then having to create a separate layer to color in everything. With something like that, 15 minutes of base coloring turns into 30 seconds. I don’t really have a problem with the layers because I never really use too many, merging some together whenever I reach the limit. However, I’d really love the zoom to be bigger. I understand that adobe sketch isn’t a vector based app (at least I don’t think it is...), but when I try to add detail to something, the limit to the zoom is pretty unhelpful. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a fairly high quality art program for the minimum price, I suggest Adobe Sketch.
Simple and Easy to Use
by Alma_II on 2019/04/29 18:27
I have used this continuously for the past 2 years with 2017 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil 1. It works really well. I like drawing with pencil, so that is honestly all I have used. But I can say this has made me like drawing more on an iPad than in real life (odd to say that) Functions such as undo, repeat, ability to create layers, copy drawing, translate layers, etc., become second nature after enough use. And when they do, it feels very fluid. Give it time to build this second nature, you won’t be disappointed. Now for a comment to the developers (not a complaint). One thing I would like the developers to do is allow you to reduce the pencils/pens on the side bar. So far I have used the pencil, pen, and eraser. I don’t use any of the others provided. It would be nice to hid the pens I do not use and ONLY have the ones you use out. Again, this is not a complaint, this is more of me thinking of something that (in my mind) could make the App even better. After all, it is an awesome app that is entirely free.
Stunned! PLEASE READ
by BayGrace325 on 2018/07/04 01:47
I had searched so hard to find an app that would seek my art needs. I looked at some animation apps, some weird kid doodling ones, and some very high tech apps. I finally got this one because of the great reviews. I thought it was pretty hard to use at first, and thought about getting a new app. BUT I decided to try it out. Happy about my decision I have created some of the cutest artwork!! This helped me evolve my art style (which I was desperate to do.) It surprisingly became a mix of both my old and new art styles which is WAY better than either styles individually. Many compliments to this app, and thanks for letting it all be free. This app should cost 4.99, but I’m glad it doesn’t! I have no current requests to this wonderful app except for a smear option, so thanks for reading my review.
Wonderful Horizon, but...
by Yacht Rocker on 2017/10/27 15:25
This new suite of Adobe apps is another powerful tool to assist designers in broadening their capabilities at providing services that are in synch with today’s demands. Being able to create, edit and share professional quality designs from your phone is an asset and in today’s competitive market. Each of these apps are unique and integrates seamlessly with your Creative Cloud projects. The only issue I’ve had to date is dealing with some less than intuitive menus and the absolutely unnecessary amount of spam that gets tagged in to any design you share through texts... it borders on ridiculous. We don’t need to know in multiple different following messages who made the app, where you can get it, what it does, who it’s from, links to web pages.... on and on, all from sharing one picture. Clean that up and not spam the crap out of my contacts, with your ads forcefully being delivered through private messaging, and we have an almost perfect suite of tools!
Thank you
Could be better
by Luoers on 2017/11/27 06:04
I’ve used this app for over a year now, and I love it. To the people complaining that there’s no cut and paste option, just fiddle around with the app some more and you’ll find that you can duplicate and transform layers. If the creators/developers of the app stumble upon my review, I want to say that I’d really like a fill option. It’s time consuming to color things such as hair and find and erase any stray marks that crossed over the lines. On other art programs, there’s virtually always a paint bucket option to fill in shapes. However, this amazing app doesn’t have that feature! If there is, please tell me how to find and use it. Another thing: when I enlarge a layer, it becomes more blurry and pixelated (especially if drawn with the graphite pencil). Will you please change or add some things so that no matter how I dilate the drawing it’s resolution and quality with stay the same? Thank you!
Good
by nutella_98 on 2018/05/24 20:48
Overall I find the app pretty good, but would be nice to have some basic elementary features added. For example, I find it a tad awkward not to be able to clear a sketch layer. I either have to start erasing the entire canvas (can be tedious), or I have to delete the entire layer and then immediately create a new one. Why? Why can’t I just have a menu command that simply clears the contents of the selected layer? Second, I’d like to have the ability to simply assign a color to the background layer other than the default light gray/white. Why is that not possible? The only “easy” solution I found is to create another background layer on top of the non-deletable background layer, and I fill that with a color. So now I have two background layers: the default white, and a colored one. Isn’t that an overkill? Just allow me change the color of the background layer and call it a day.
Beautiful
by josh ahren behrens on 2018/07/03 23:11
I love this app and all the adobe software on the iPad. I am not a total adobe fanatic but the iPad apps are so well crafted. This app is easy to use but not too simple that you wish it had more. There are shapes and rulers to help you keep a neat look. Many brush options, 20 maybe more and each brush has its own settings. Supports 30 layers. Layers have opacity and can be blended, transformed, Merged or moved between adobe apps by holding down the layer and dragging it onto another app like adobe draw in the multitasking view. If you have the apple pencil it just gets so much better. Pressure sensitivity is supported as well palm rejection. I would say this app is for you if you like doodling, concept art, digital drawing and painting.
Can’t open Non-Native PSD files.
by Somekinaking on 2017/12/30 04:58
While this app in general is absolutely fantastic it doesn’t work well with the other adobe apps. You can import files from Creative Cloud, you can open psd files that did not start in Adobe Sketch despite being able to save Sketch’s files to psd. So if you wanted to move from your laptop to your iPad you could not and if you saved it from your laptop and try to open it back up in Sketch you could not. I would honestly give this a lower rating if it weren’t for the fact the user friendliness and other features were not amazing. It’s sad to see that other creators drawing apps can not only save in psd, open it, interact with adobe’s creative cloud and still offer all of sketch's features and more baffles me. I would love to continue using this app but the inability to crossover makes it a no go for me at the moment.
Great tool, but can’t export a quality format
by AriesDesign on 2018/08/07 15:03
Great tool to learn and use, but I can’t get my sketches out in a format that works for me. It’s a major disappointment as I found the tool itself to work well for my flow up until I need to get anything out of it. Unless I’m completely missing something, the only options I get to share/export are a link to a low res carousel of images or to create a Behance page. Could use at least an export to PDF to email or share to Dropbox. Can’t even share to creative cloud as that icon is inexplicably greyed out. I’m literally having to screenshot then airdrop them to my computer so I can put them in a presentation. Terrible experience in contrast to everything else. It’s so frustrating as I really want to use this, but it kills the app’s usability for me. Guess I’ll have to go use another application. I hear Procreate is better in general anyways.
Sorry!
Do NOT Download
by Ethereal92 on 2019/03/17 04:28
I am so livid at the moment. I used to have ProCreate on my iPad before it broke and decided to try my art on my phone. Procreate was almost $7 at the time, and without a job I didn’t have that kind of money. Instead, I downloaded Adobe Sketch. It was fine at first. Trashy brush options and little you could do to alter them in any way, yeah, but it got the job done. Until today. I’ve had this app for a while, a little over a year, and have had constant problems with it. None of them were as bad as this week, though. I started a project when I first downloaded this app, spent so much time and energy into working on it until it was almost, ALMOST perfect, and got off of the app about two weeks ago. I decided to jump back on and finish it up, save it to my device, and post it on my business page, when there was suddenly nothing. The project was there when I went to open it, but after a moment of loading, every layer I had open was blank. Empty. Nothing I could try to fix it worked. Several emails later and all they told me to do was exactly what I’d already done, until finally I just stopped receiving emails for support. Since then, other projects of mine have been slowly vanishing with no explanation and no way to fix it. Downloading this app is a waste of time and effort. Don’t do it. You’ll regret it.
Sketch=Great App. Why Discontinue?
by The Buddha Rats on 2019/11/26 19:30
Adobe Sketch is a great app.
Good in some ways, missing a lot of key features

I really like this app in a lot of ways - so many different textures and types of brushes, I like the straight line/circle guides etc., but there way too many problems here for me to enjoy it much, and I feel like a lot of the missing tools are really basic and rather obvious (like the basics from Microsoft paint...) 1. No cut and paste feature. 2. No lasso/select feature to move parts around 3. No selection of shapes besides the lines, squares & circles (round cornered squares, polygons, etc.) 4. There are no tools for organizing your projects - if you are creating several pages for 1 project (like illustrating a book) you can't put all the pages for that 1 project in a folder or something. 5. I wish you could create color pallets for certain projects (you can 'like' a color and save it in your library, but you can't even name it to recognize it from page to page like when you are working on multiple pages for 1 project). All around a bit frustrated with the lack of, in my opinion, rather basic and obvious functions (at least from a cartoonist standpoint).
Reliable app (with two suggestions)
by Ginbit2 on 2018/03/07 22:05
This app is wonderful and I use it wherever I go! The automatic timelapse function is also really helpful for looking back on my process/progress (and to show friends and family how I do each piece!) I typically draw simple, cartoony characters, but recently I’ve been experimenting with landscapes and more detailed cartoons. One suggestion I have for a future update would be the addition of a blending tool. This wouldn’t be a brush, but rather a separate tool (like the eraser, which cannot be replaced with other brushes). It has been VERY difficult to mix colors with only brushes, and a tool with the sole purpose of blending would be a huge step forward. My second suggestion would be the addition of a select tool. Whenever I need to make a copy of a (or just move) specific detail, I have to make a copy of that layer and erase EVERYTHING else aside from that one detail before I can do anything. I think that a select tool would be much appreciated and very well received by the entire community. Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my review, and happy drawing to everyone!
Perfect but for 2 essemtial effects
by axel_nelson on 2019/03/02 07:16
I can't understand how this can be such a beautiful and game -changing app for spontaneous use on the run without a smudge tool! I'm confused, because even basic, inferior apps have convincing smudges. It really does mean that I have to use other apps. HOWEVER, the watercolor brush effects are MIND-BOGGLING , and the app is essential for that reason alone. I could watch colors bleed into each other for hours! No clue how they made that. Which makes it hard to understand how the oil paint brushes don't blend colors they paint over! You'd think that would be a comparably simple feature, and not having them combine makes the paint brushes effectively useless. Please, please, please fix this, and I'll dump all other apps!
Adobe sketch is wonderful!

Not the most user friendly
by Kelllllllllllllllllllllll on 2018/07/04 20:45
Really wish this had better brush management. There is not a way to delete a brush but to go online to a website. Then you have to wait for the brush to sync to the website. As I type this, I have been waiting about 15 minutes for one brush to sync. I have some from months ago that must have glitched out and never synced, so I can’t delete it. I was also surprised some of the brushes that were missing when I downloaded the app - I needed a brush that would create a solid black background with no streaks and there wasn’t one. Which I was able to download one to do what I need but still. It is a little cumbersome using this app especially since I am doing a lot of importing and exporting right now.
Excellent app
by Marieltha on 2017/07/30 01:20
I have just started using this and so am still learning the tools and all the possibilities. It is excellent for a beginner and offers many brushes, more than other apps I have looked at. It offers serious artistic choices; some apps are less oriented to this and seem more game like. The project layout choices are quite varied;there are even some for the ipadpro, which I have just moved up to. I used this app first with finger touch, and now I have an Apple Pencil and it is even better and more varied with that. I will add more details as I use it, but it definitely deserves 5 stars.
Great app
by marmarmar22 on 2018/12/27 22:14
I’ll get to the point. This app is truly amazing for digital drawing. I got a few other apps installed and most of the other apps have poor control when it comes to sliding my IPad stylus on the screen. The touch is hypersensitive and it lacks control in the other apps. This app is amazing. The brushes require a bit of pressure to work, so it feels like pencil on paper. I have a lot more control. I love that. The developers also did a amazing job by adding the visual dot, so I can see what areas I’m covering with my pen. Everything about this app feels like pencil and paper and I love it. Would love for there to be a button where you can go forward in case you use the undo button and don’t like the undo. I also notice there is no filling in bucket tool that adds color to a enclosed area. Lastly, I would like it for there to be a blender brush that I can use to blend the colors together on the drawing. This app has the potential to bypass every popular drawing app out there. I will deff recommend this app. Dear developers, thank you for your hard work.
Please.
Great App - would be better with a lasso tool
by Dhawk15 on 2019/03/25 23:30
I love this app for iterating on design projects like logos, families of icons, and closely related illustrations. The best feature is the ability to group by and share sketches as projects. I just wish that I had access to a lasso tool so I could move elements around within a single layer... Sometimes I want to select a part of a layer so I can break it out into it’s own separate layer. As far as I can tell, the only way to do this now is to create a new layer and redraw the stuff I wanted to copy a new layer - or duplicate a layer and erase the stuff I don’t want on either layer. Adding something like a lasso tool would be a great quality of life improvement for this otherwise excellent app from Adobe.
The colorblind artist complain
by Prietoseaart on 2018/09/22 06:25
I’m colorblind and none of the colors have the names . I see different colors than a normal person does . It would help a lot if the colors would have their names written bellow them , identifying what color they are that way colorblind artists like me can apply the correct color to drawings . None of the colors on the Picker or Themes have names . Also the colors become diferente when u lower the flow ... for example blue becomes purple . And I can’t tell the difference between blue and purple because I’m colorblind . Hope some one can correct this . I’m not saying the app is bad ... I actually love it but this little thing is driving me crazy !
Great!!!!!!
by Da pie flavored pie on 2017/08/31 18:24
First of all, it's FREE. There's a storage limitation (you can extend it using money) but it won't matter if you just delete them after sending it to ur photo library. And there's many brushes, you can select an image from ur device and sketch over it too. Just make sure you have a stylus, Apple Pencil recommended. It lets you have precision when drawing. One thing I want though, is the paint bucket that automatically colors the space you click on, cuz that would really really help when trying to draw with your finger without a stylus. But GREAT app!!!

Good app that keeps getting better with each update!
by VronWalrus on 2017/11/12 02:51
I’ve been using adobe photoshop sketch for a few months now. When i first got it, it was good but not perfect. However, slowly but surely with each update, adobe added things i was longing for but the app didn’t have. Custom canvas sizes, resize all layers.. each update is an improvement to my experience which I think can be actually rare sometimes. The only thing that I would need to make this app perfect is a selection / wand tool. ❤️
Use the libraries!
by _del4yo on 2018/11/27 11:40
I’m a Photoshop user for 27 years , this app has so much improved my workflow ! I now draw on my iPad using my own Photoshop brushes and color libraries. Then it exports seamlessly to Photoshop on my computer to continue working. Best tool ever for illustration jobs. And I can work anywhere, including in bed. Absolutely lovely. I just wish it was able to open a picture as a project, to be sure I’m consistent in sizes and resolution. It’s the only problem of an otherwise perfect tool.
Not functional
by DisraeliGears01 on 2019/02/13 02:18
This, and all the Adobe iOS programs I’ve experienced are so hamstrung that it’s nigh impossible to use them for simple functions. There’s no reason on earth this application can’t have text input or magic wand, aside from Adobe wanting a sub fee. That’s fine! Release a fully functional Photoshop for iOS and I’ll happily pay you for it! In the meantime, don’t shove out a sketching app only differentiated in functionality to dozens of others by its ties to the Adobe ecosystem. Don’t even get me starting on why Adobe has 10-15 apps doing work that 3-5 could handle. I’ve realized that the program side of Adobe is just as bad as Flash, and literally the only reason they exist is because they got in early.
Unstable, Lacks Features
by -0112358- on 2018/09/03 19:49
If you only care about the basics, this app is great - I like the dynamics and selection of implements. However, it lost me over ONE HOUR of work yesterday when it suddenly crashed. Completely unacceptable, especially now that we have spent so many years with standard autosave. There isn’t even a save button anyways. That aside, there’s a very low ceiling on the number of layers (20), which often makes it unusable. In the sidebar, you are limited to five brushes and an eraser at on time. That would be a big issue for some people. Each retains its own color, FYI. All-in-all, I would stay away from Adobe’s gateway-drug apps. They have a lot of potential, especially when used together, but ultimately you and you clients and colleagues end up trapped in the Adobe universe, where you may not want to be... More seriously, losing work in that manner, even once, is not acceptable in software made by a company of such size, reputation, and experience. Not in 2018 on a 2018 iPad.
Functional but definitely could include more features
by nikokokokokokokokokoko0 on 2018/09/22 02:49
Functional, but definitely wish the app had some essential capabilities - like selecting and dragging parts of a layer (eg lasso tool), copy paste, paint bucket, magic wand etc etc etc. For example, right now instead of select and transform, I’m stuck duplicating entire layers, erasing the stuff I don’t want to change from the new layer, shifting the entire new layer around, and then erasing the shifted stuff from the original layer. Stuff like this gets really messy and frustrating after a while and is honestly just a huge unnecessary waste of time.
Amazing, but just one thing.
by FweefweetheJester on 2018/05/30 04:19
This has become my go-to sketching app. It built my confidence in my art again and it is so perfect for concept sketching and professionally coloring simple drawings. I love it and it and its simplicity. I just have one complaint. Other drawing apps let you zoom in almost as much as you want and I can’t zoom in on these adobe apps as close as I’d like to while I’m sketching or coloring. Could you guys please tweak this? It would be so much appreciated!
Great brushes, clunky UI
by keithkml on 2018/05/06 01:56
I really love the brushes. They feel great and the way colors blend and combine is amazing. However there are some basic things that would make the app a lot more usable: - sync to cloud storage. The CC “mobile creations” page is hard to find and even harder to use - new layer from selection. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve duplicated a layer and erased a bunch of stuff to simulate this feature - color palette editing & quick color switching. I love drawing with this app - I just wish it was easier to use.
Great App
by EmeraldHunter00 on 2017/09/10 03:51
If you're looking for a good app, but an something that's not too complex, adobe sketch is the way to go. It has many different starter brushes, layers, zoom, photoshop, and so much more! I absolutely love this app, and I use it for doodling, art projects, and just...boredom. Way better than any other art app that I've seen so far, and it's free! Oh, and one word of criticism. I don't think the zoom feature on this app is as fine-tuned as I would want it to be. If you could make it so you could zoom in farther, that would be great! Thanks.
Just Okay...
by AFClements on 2018/03/02 01:26
I was eager to get this app to try out my favorite Kyle Webster brushes but have thus far been very disappointed. It seems like there needs to be a way to edit the pressure sensitivity of the Apple Pencil, as when I use the pencil all my marks are incredibly light. I have to push very hard to get the brush to work the correct way, too hard to where I feel like I’m going to ruin my screen. When I use my finger to draw the brushes work fine, but for some reason the Apple Pencil doesn’t work at all. Hopefully a future update will fix this, until then I’ll use Procreate where I can adjust the pressure sensitivity of my Apple Pencil!

App is amazing, just things lacking
by an artists that loves to test on 2018/01/17 11:05
I really love how I’m able to import custom made brushes from my laptop using creative cloud. The app replicates the brushes exactly like how I would use it on my laptop. I do wish you could be able to import back a psd file to the app but since that isn’t available yet, I would have to work on other apps instead for that feature. It feels limiting since you can’t bring your work with you on mobile. The response is amazing, but sometimes when I’m working on larger canvases, that’s when it lags. Some things I’ve noticed I keep looking for that could have probably made the app more efficient : - ability to import back psd files ( if you can export, then why can’t you import back?) - clipping layers - fill bucket tool - selection or lasso tool - copy, paste, cut I have other ones to mention, but I think those are usually the ones I keep looking for. Basic tools.

Wow...

Sketch=Great App. Why Discontinue?
by The Buddha Rats on 2019/11/26 19:30
Adobe Sketch is a great app.

A text tool would be nice. Having to color in every thing in is a PAIN can there be a fill tool? I love graphite more pencils would be nice! Thx - bluedolls

Lovely
by newtegon on 2019/06/30 18:34
I love how simple and lightweight the program feels.

Thank you 🙏

I wish the both of the apps were combined having to go to separate apps all the time to draw different things is really annoying I wish there was a pencil in both of them I wish that the pens were in both of them really adobe I really wish you would just combine both of the apps by now i’m an artist I absolutely love your program it’s free it’s good I like it I just wish That you were combined both and also no smudge stick tool really... it’s really annoying that I can’t combine the colors I can’t have a good fade I know that your app is mostly meant for making logos but I really really wish you would combine both of the apps and add a smudge stick it’s really annoying that I can’t combine the colors or make the colors fade out So please for the love of God add a smudge stick but I genuinely love the watercolor brushes And please please just combined and the stupid apps If you read this developers thank you I know it’s really long but I genuinely want your app to be improved on. me and my mother both use this app and I love it it has a good system there’s layers all kinds of things I genuinely love it. it’s just I wish that you would do things that other things also do other free programs that are more crappy than you. you like one of the best free programs I’ve ever found please continue what you’re doing but please make some improvements and for the love of goodness add a Smudge stick! thank you for reading!

RIP Adobe

Stunned! PLEASE READ

Thank you
Could be better
by Luoers on 2017/11/27 06:04
I’ve used this app for over a year now, and I love it.
Sketch=Great App. Why Discontinue?
by The Buddha Rats on 2019/11/26 19:30
Adobe Sketch is a great app.
Good in some ways, missing a lot of key features
by 16773382 on 2017/08/02 22:13
I really like this app in a lot of ways - so many different textures and types of brushes, I like the straight line/circle guides etc., but there way too many problems here for me to enjoy it much, and I feel like a lot of the missing tools are really basic and rather obvious (like the basics from Microsoft paint...) 1.
Adobe sketch is wonderful!
by poisonous vipers on 2019/11/29 13:15
I use Adobe sketch all the time it is a very good app I really like it .
Great!!!!!!

Why I rate four.
