Not accurate!
by Nobueno_7294926 on 2019/10/18 22:07
I am literally sitting in a thunderstorm in my car right now, and the App says the weather is totally clear. So, not sure where they get their data from, but it isn’t accurate.

No customer support
by jromo6 on 2019/09/30 23:51
Do not get this app because if you start having problems with it customer support is nonexistent. I tried and it does not work. I tried to send e mails to support and they rejected all of them.
Too simple. Not detailed. Same as free app.
by Vinny_L on 2019/09/27 16:41
NOAA’s free app has the same exact lay out and options in app. Nothing more, nothing less. Great lay out an all but not very accurate compared to other great weather apps. It’s so simple there ISN’T daily detailed descriptions. If it rains it will let you know the day of.... Future forecast is wishy washy. **Currently all my other weather apps have said weather coming in the weekend and this app says sunny. After watching/comparing this app for weeks now, this app is inaccurate. There are Free apps out there that are on point and more accurate every time.

Not worth the money
by Overboost44 on 2019/09/13 13:06
I have to admit that I am bit of a weather geek. I used to use WU but I wasn’t satisfied anymore for several reasons. When a good friend of mine that works for NOAA told me about this app, I went and downloaded it. Then I figured for a few bucks it was worth paying for the extras. I was wrong! You would think that NOAA would have the latest and greatest technology and the best accuracy. If they do, they sure don’t put it in this app. I can be watching the storm coming across the Chesapeake Bay and the app shows a 0% chance of rain. The app is really so bad that I had to add WU back to my phone so I can compare the two . I expect more from this app.
No longer trusted
by Shared gamer on 2019/09/09 06:02
Deleting all noaa apps. How can they be trusted when they now show poor judgement. No self respect and no respect for professionals and science. Shameful!
Found out NOAA Lies
by Oscar Wentworth III on 2019/09/08 02:41
I was actually quite happy with this app until 9/7/2019 when I found out the NOAA is an organization that puts out false information. The leaders of that organization rebuked career weather service scientists for giving accurate information about Hurricane Dorian. The NOAA leaders instead promulgated lies about the hurricane in order to please the political ambitions and ego of the current Oval Office occupant. Politics has no place in science. Previously I trusted what was shown in this app but now I can’t believe anything it tells me. Very disappointed.
Don’t bother

NOAA - backing Trump. Seriously?
Lost Credibility
by Mariavista on 2019/09/07 15:56
Relied heavily on this app during Dorian’s approach. But when NOAA wrote their statement supporting Trump’s misinterpretation of the forecast I deleted the app. NOAA will never live this down.
Lies, can’t trust this organization
by Jjjjjjjjjjjjbbbbb on 2019/09/07 15:02
If the weather agencies are willing to lie just to cover up a presidential lie, you can’t listen to anything they say
Like the maps but can’t figure out how to get back to the other info when I get into maps
by Blemmers on 2019/09/06 04:08
Love the information and it is easy to get to the maps, but then there is no obvious way to get back to the original information from maps.
Bad image
by Luis49 on 2019/09/05 22:29
During a hurricane close to the shore, the map shows color shades to indicate watches and warnings. These colors are so dense that we cannot see the land margin lines and location names. These colors should be more transparent.

by TheSpaceman123 on 2019/08/31 15:28
I saw this app expecting the perfect app for forecasting and meteorology nerdiness, expecting my $6 to be worth it. But NO, as this app ended up being as good as the weather channel. Although it’s more expensive, you should just subscribe to Storm.

Free radar apps are better
by Gary5675309 on 2019/08/08 16:11
I’m very disappointed in the NOAA Radar Pro app. Storms pop up quickly here in Florida and this app doesn’t show them far too often. I’m talking small but STONG storms that you need to take cover for that free apps will show and this one won’t. Terrible app not worth 2cents! Apple should be ashamed to even offer it on their platform- I’m sure if they know hoe poorly the app works they’d remove it. Can I get a refund at least?

I’ve had this weather app for 3 years. While I like the radar coverage choices, it has messed up 4 times that I can recall. I’ve had to delete and reload the app and then set up each city I’m following each time. Also the radar is usually 5 minutes behind real time. Very frustrated! Jo

by sweetwatersea on 2019/07/06 21:04
I’m a weather info junkie— I have like five different app. Love to know what my day and week will be like, at home or traveling. As my kids travel on their own, I can stay up to date on their weather conditions too! Just got an alert for hazardous weather for one son and I could let him ASAP. I do wish it featured more of the details I can only get on the NOAA website— the improvements to the NOAA “Local Weather” are wonderful— and I want them on the app, too!

Good near real time of conditions
by Lake Samm on 2019/07/02 12:49
I would love this app if you could provide the NOAA forecast models. It’s hard to toggle between different screens. If you could have one click and show the hourly forecast with wind, rain and all of the other data in your pinpoint forecasts that would be awesome!
Needs help with Hurricanes
by PastorGamerGeek on 2019/07/01 21:32
Purchased for the Hurricane alerts, but completely regret wasting my money. This app does not differentiate between Pacific and Atlantic Hurricanes. I get so many hurricane notifications from the Pacific it causes notification fatigue. I had to disable the alerts because so few of them actually applied to the east coast. If you are on the east coast and looking for a good Hurricane warming system, this isn’t it.

Terrible
by Jjreding on 2019/06/17 21:12
Why they are allowed to continue to sell this app that doesn’t work on the App Store is beyond me. App doesn’t work, radar doesn’t animate just sits there. Garbage I did contact support at the email you listed before I wrote this review. You answered the review before you answered the support ticket. Still waiting for an email back from your support. Seems like that’s the only answer you give to defend these terrible reviews of you product that doesn’t work.
Regret Buying 100%
by Jtscherle on 2019/06/16 18:42
This app is pretty bad in every way. The other weather apps (Weather, NBC Chicago) have superior radar quality and better, more accurate information. Today the difference in temperature was 10° innocent on this app. I wish I could get my money back 👎🏻
Total waste of money
by Operator 5489 on 2019/06/16 10:59
Blobs of blue and green with no explanations pass over a time line of 24 hrs condensed to 7 secs. They really fooled me with this one, I thought I was getting a professional weather app; this looks like a middle school coding project. Weather Underground what happened to you?!

Heads Up
by Alan Maish on 2019/06/07 03:29
As a farmer I find this radar very helpful. It gives me up to 3 hours warning of inclement weather by watching and keeping track of storms
Much too behind to be useful
by qX2y7b on 2019/06/06 00:05
This app is useless. The warning boxes are not posted for up to ten minutes, the notifications are even more delayed. Storms are always several miles ahead of the radar. In nearly every case, the storm is well underway or has already moved on before any information is made available. The only thing it’s good for is a short history of what just happened.
Perfect

Tornado Alley user/fan with suggestions
by Tornado Alley Parent on 2019/05/26 16:31
Like a lot of people who live in Tornado Alley, I have multiple notification systems. I use a phone call service for my home location, but I really like this app for: - Ability to set alerts for multiple locations (son’s summer camp, sister’s town, clients’ business locations etc.) - I live in a rural location and like being able to see the “big picture” of tornado-warned storms in my region. During a recent multi-day outbreak, I set a temporary alert on towns southwest of mine to get extra lead time on severe weather that might head my way. My suggestions would be to allow users to control which specific types of severe weather notifications sound an alert, I.e. ON for tornado warnings but OFF for tornado watches, per location. Right now there are about four types grouped together. When monitoring multiple locations (I.e. hospital clients), I really just want to know about tornado warnings, not watches & severe thunderstorm warnings. But when I’m monitoring my kids’ locations, I want to know all of the above. It’s hard to keep track of the important tornado warnings when the lock screen pops up & layers 10 notifications for renewed watches, T-Storm warnings, etc. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
No animation

Beautiful graphics, but slow
by geojen_ on 2019/05/23 19:47
A squall line just passed over my area and I was looking out for tornado watches/warnings using this app and twitter. The storm got really strong and I thought there must have been a tornado watch even though I didn’t see it on the app. I saw the warning on twitter a full minute and a half to two minutes faster than on the app thanks to capital weather gang retweeting the national weather service tornado page. Luckily my area was fine, but if it wasn’t, those two minutes could’ve made a big difference. Also it’s great to see the progression of storms in the radar over the course of the last 30 minutes, but when the storm is happening, you really don’t need that much info—you just need to know what’s happening now. Would be nice if you could narrow in on the last 10 minutes. Maybe that could be a setting?
Location services
by Deep River on 2019/05/22 20:58
I shouldn’t have to be forced to have this app always tracking me around. I should be able to gave it use location services only when I am using the app.
Not bad
by LoneOso on 2019/05/22 06:37
In spite of the government shutdown, they gave decent information. However, even when on WiFi there seems to be inaccurate temps. I'm not into all the intricacies this app offers, but temps are very often "off." Comparing it to the native weather app on iPhone, it's obviously superior, but temps should be accurate.🤷🏽‍♂️

It Works
by makajazz on 2019/05/18 15:09
NOAAs Radar Pro catches a lot of the weather but is not as refined as MyRadar Pro which has a much more modern user screen and Radar resolution that is better than ANYTHING on the market or even the Weather Channel. NOAA is ok but it lumbers along and the resolution isn’t at today’s standard.

Pretty much everything you need, nothing you don't need. Radar animation somewhat slow to load. Simple, accurate, easy to navigate. Have about 5 weather apps, use them all, like them all. But this is the best weather radar app I have found.
Used to love your but so inconsistent now.
by Darfish on 2019/03/11 16:24
I used to love everything about your app but recently it has been way off in its temperature reporting. Today it says 9 degrees but 4 other apps report 20 to 21. What is going on? This accuracy has occurred several times recently. Also on the map next to location marker temp will be more than 10 degrees off from the page that shows the breakdown of weather details. Please fix because i still love your format but that means nothing is reporting is innacurate. Why are all the reviews from a year ago?

Tracking weather
by CaroBabbo on 2017/09/20 16:29
I have always liked tracking weather whether it be seeing incoming rain when I'm walking my dog or keeping track of a hurricane as it heads toward land (or not) or up the coast. I like that I can see predictions of a hurricane's progress. What I don't like is that as I tap on a forecast point I have to go through two levels. First the white rectangle that tells me little more than the storm's name and its intensity. Then I can get a full-page report of its name, intensity, projected wind speeds, and mapping coordinates. Then if I want to get a sense of how it's moving, I have to go back to the map and repeat the whole process. Tedious and not very efficient. How about the white rectangle actually giving useful tracking info rather than long spelled out labels? Category 3 = Cat3. The date and time of the forecast so I can very efficiently track along the path and get a sense of how fast it's moving and how it's gaining or losing strength. I like being able to bookmark locations so I can quickly check places where my kids live or to which I frequently travel. Last thing, even though I deleted the bookmark, the map defaults to a place (Gould, RI) that doesn't exist. How about I be able to designate one of my bookmarks (like my home) as the map default. It's coming close but it's missing the mark.
Works great!

People were complaining about large location icons, fast radar time lapse, etc. Well guess what? There's options to change those in Settings! Just because you're not App Savvy doesn't mean you should give bad ratings and complain. I'm a 47 year-old single mother and if I can figure out what the circular gear icon symbol means and tap it to find the settings you can too! You can also choose map or satellite imagery, the degree of clarity on the coverage of the "clouds" so you can still see what city it is. Change the speed of the playback. How long do you want that red pin with the nice, visible print for the location to stay there? 10 seconds or 1 minute? I think there were 4 options. Those are just the ones I looked at before the "please rate the app" popped up. I really like it and find it functional, accurate (so far), and not too difficult for a grandmother to use. If you can't figure it out, get your kids to help. 😊
Good idea, poor delivery

I have to say that after using this app compared to the multitude of other weather notification apps that I have, I am not impressed at all. I live in Savannah, GA where we get some pretty bad weather from time to time and I like to know when that weather is on my back door. Just recently we had a mild tornado outbreak, as well as a slew of severe thunderstorms. Of all of the apps that I have for weather with the notifications turned on, NOAA was the very last app to give me a notification that the storm was happening, and at times that notification was almost an hour after the storm had passed. If this was the only app that I had giving me notifications, my family and myself could have wound up seriously injured or worse if just one of those tornado producing storms had hit my house and I was relying on this app. The sad thing is that this is a paid app, that I purchased for a little bit of reassurance during bad weather to give me some piece of mind and the only thing it has done is make me more weary about severe weather in my area. And for anyone that reads this and is wondering, this has not been the only time that the app has been extremely delayed in letting me know that there was bad weather approaching. It happened in April, as well as January, during the tornado outbreak across GA. So basically, it's not a fluke.

1 star by comparison to other noaa radar apps
by Serenityx1234029483828 on 2017/07/24 03:43
If another noaa radar app wasn't out there offering heaps more functionality (for a similar price) then I might give this app more stars. Currently I can not find a feature in this app that offers layouts for a temperature map, wind speed, water temperature, and even a storm path layout, as is available in another app similar to this one. All I see is the option to view information for specific locations by entering/tapping around a location. The only layout I can find is storm coverage (by layout I dont mean satellite view..) Sad to see this app charging people over 4$ (3.99 at 30% off??) for what? Notification functionality? On the other hand the widget and notification features are a strong point in this app.. But notifications require location services to be ALWAYS ON and as you see on first opening the app their is a big fat privacy star next to this. If your fine with your location being used for ad content then you might not consider this a con. Anyways I hope apple doesn't decide to hide this under the thousand or so other reviews this app has like it does with all my reviews.
Storm spotter, not a fan
by Lge501 on 2018/07/11 20:25
I'm a certified storm spotter and have chased some of the largest storms on record for the Oklahoma area. The notifications are great. The radar, not so great. I use the free app of weatherbug that seems to be more accurate. I still chase storms in Las Vegas and have noticed that weatherbug shows more information and more accurate information. Looking at the radar on both apps, I prefer weatherbug. I've missed a few storms due to the inaccurate radar information. They seem to be behind. It all could be accredited to what your use to. I'm use to radar that shows everything at realtime. Hook echo is very difficult to read on this app. I've been in the center of a large storm and pulled up NOAA. The radar said the storm wasn't over my location. I pulled up weatherbug and it showed me otherwise. The accuracy was much better and easier to read. I’ve also compared the radar to several other sources. Including The Weather Channel website and app, Apple weather, and AccuWeather and weather bug . The NOAA map will tell you the system is weaker than it actually is. Not good!!!
Reliable
by Who luvs ya baby on 2017/04/04 02:09
I've had this app for sometime now. I must admit I was skeptical and doubted a weather app. Mainly because there are so many out there that well just plain stink. This one however is reliable and provides several tools to effectively forecast the weather. After almost 2 year I am very pleased with the app! Updated- 4/3/17, I've noticed that since about the December of 2016, the accuracy of forecast has been slipping. I check this app three or four times a day, and there have been times where the weather has totally changed in the matter of hours. This isn't isolated dates, it's occurring often, I wonder if they switched to a sub par monitoring system or something like that? If I am confusing you, let me put it this way. The iPhone weather app has been more reliable over this same period.
A good app.....for the most part
by therelybare on 2018/06/11 23:59
I really like the usefulness of this app. I use it to keep track of storms and all of the watches/warnings. I travel a lot and I like having information about the areas I visit. That being said, today wasn’t as pleasant as usual. With a big storm coming in, while traveling, I got about 30 updates from almost every community I passed through. It got to be a joke every time another notification popped up. Yet another town with a Flood Watch, yippee! After a while I wanted to chuck the phone out of the window. Thank you for the 20 or so Flash Flood watches today, as well! It seemed we were getting an Flood watch alert in about every town from Johnson City TN to Atlanta GA. Granted, we travelled the Blue Ridge Pkwy to Asheville so when we’d get a signal, there was a new alert. I don’t know what I expected to get in the following mode, but I guess I didn’t expect to get all of those alerts. Unfortunately, all of the notifications from that day are gone and I have no idea how to get them back.
Always 76 degrees?
by Asdelia on 2018/05/04 11:42
I used to love this app, and it always worked perfectly. Tracking storms as they come and go is really useful, as are the flooding alerts and such that are given for the area you’re looking at. However, for the past two months, the temperature shown in large font for my location has been incorrect. When it’s 30 degrees with a high of 40 degrees, the main number at the top is always in the 70s. Luckily, the hourly information further down is correct. It’s just frustrating to not know the correct temperature at a glance anymore. The exact location where this behavior is observed: Washington DC area. Main number at top says 70-80 degrees and sunny. Actual weather (at the time of the review) was 30-40 degrees and cloudy/sunny/rainy (occurred systematically regardless of weather). Currently, it reports 81 degrees sunny when the weather is more like 70 degrees and cloudy. Again, the hourly details are correct. It is only the top level number/image that has an error.
Thanks.
Flexibility to configure forecast timing
by Boricua en la Luna y el Sol on 2018/01/01 22:09
I used very effectively this app 2 years ago to predict the raining periods in Orlando’s theme parks, looking at raining trends real time within 40 minutes before to current time. This helped me determine whether staying indoors or outdoors, helping me enjoying the parks to the fullest. However, current version does not allow me to see the 40 minutes time frame, instead a fixed 24 hours. Now, I cannot determine whether staying indoors or outdoors effectively, as it is not precise and accurate enough for short time frames. I will be disappointed if the usual use I had is not reestablished. I have tried too many times the configuration settings without success. If problem is solved, I will give 5 stars back to the app.
Clean and clear weather information at your fingertips
by The Kitchen Witch on 2017/04/02 16:14
Like so many others, I also migrated to NOAA Radar Pro from the Storm app after they reverted to an ad-only version. Too bad. It was very nice and used crowd sourcing for exceptional data. This app is exceptionally clean in appearance. It's something you're not likely to think about until five flavors of weather hit your area at the same time and everything gets cluttered up. The option to view as a road map format or satellite view is great, especially if you're traveling. Everything is presented in an easy to see and logical manner with numerous options for display. This is important for those of us who don't have the best of vision. Great job on a great app!
Much improved over the past year
by Alamocity1 on 2017/09/20 15:15
I admittedly found some flaws about a year ago when I started using this app but they have been responsive and I'm very pleased with what I see now. The greatest function of this app is you don't have to put up with all the gloom and doom on the weather channels. It's a direct feed from NOAA so we don't get all the extra could be this could be that stuff. Living in Florida now, this was my way of staying in touch with what was going on with Irma. When our power went out it was the only way I had of keeping up with what was going on with Irma. I got the pro version because I don't like to be interrupted by commercials on TV or on my phone it was well worth it.
DOES WHAT IT's SUPPOSE TO
by Victim of thievery on 2018/03/15 16:09
I don’t know of anyone that enjoys boating offshore, in rough seas. It’s unpleasant to say the least and often times dangerous or life threatening. Perfectly calm seas can turn rough without warning in a matter of minutes and knowing what’s ahead in the weather forecast is a must, if you have to seek shelter in a hurry. I’ve used this app. for a few years now, and it helped me decide whether I want to go fishing that day, or I should just postpone the trip for a better day. I found the app to be quite accurate in forecasting the weather for the areas that I’ve chosen to fish in, or just spend the day on the water with family or friends. Never mess with mother nature. Boating should be fun, don’t risk your life doing it.

I have had this app for several years now, and must say that; it has been a very reliable tool, in Weather Preparedness! When you live in Tornado Alley; you can't go wrong; with this app!!! The local news, tends to spend 95% of their time; on covering the " Big City " and, Not the small town's ! Who cares about, the City, getting rain! Concrete & Asphalt, doesn't grow; no matter how much or little rain it receives. PERIOD ! When your a Farmer, you need rain to grow your crops; Especially, in Drought areas! This app, gives me the most important Weather Info, I need. When your town Population is only 227, give or take a cow or two; Trust Me , You need this app.
Great app
by Pilot/CFI - Denton on 2017/03/03 17:31
I just recently downloaded this app because another app that I really liked - ahem "Storm" ahem - is no longer ad free. I am a corporate pilot and freelance flight instructor so having weather information readily available at my fingertips comes in very handy especially when I'm sitting at some Podunk airport out in the middle of nowhere. Just a few suggestions: 1.) add aviation layers such as AIRMETS, SIGMETS, and Convective SIGMETS and 2.) allow us to change the color of the saved pin locations. The purple pinhead tends to blend into some of the warning/advisory boxes. 3.) have a section for textual weather discussions and synopsis. All in all though this is a great app. I have yet to find an all inclusive weather app that does it all, but this one has a good layout and is easy to use.
Works Just Great in Tornado Alley
by Totally Essex up on 2018/05/20 23:42
I got it because I live in Tornado Alley. In the Spring we have many severe thunderstorms per month and sometimes as many as 2 tornado warnings a week. I like that the radar comes right up and I can get an idea what is coming my way. Also I have found that the alert on the app comes on just about the same time as our county tornado alert siren just down the block. If you go to the settings you can adjust many options to fit your needs. I travel lots and it alerts me to weather in my location without having to reset it all the time. You can also set alerts for several towns so you know what's happening weather wise with out of town children or vacation homes.
Excellent app
by Zoë Too. on 2017/09/02 12:15
A very professional and accurate App that it keeps me up to date, with what is happening in the weather world, I have family all over the world and this way I know what is going on at there back yard. I only wish this had been around when the big Earth quake happen in Mexico City in the '70. It would had save us a lot of trouble family in Europe could communicate to US and Canada to find out about family in Mexico. You can adjust it to accommodate your needs in the settings section, (get familiar with it, because it is not a regular App it is a professional tool) To the App developer and team: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Serious weather app
by Darth sean on 2017/01/06 02:57
This app literally saved my life. I was near Purdue university and had to drive to Dayton Ohio. Severe rain, hard to see. Then the phone started beeping and telling me there was a tornado in the area. I pulled underneath an overpass and looked at the weather map. Do I stay put or keep going. Weather map showed storm center behind me and about 15 minutes away and approaching my location. If I kept going I would head out of the storm. If I stayed put I would get hit with the worst. I kept going. The place I stayed the night before got wasted by the tornado. I was able to stay safe having accurate weather on my phone.
Useless. Avoid at all costs
by Ewest305touch on 2017/09/21 00:21
Hurricane Irma really tested this app and unfortunately, it failed to deliver. I was not getting tornado warnings even though the Oviedo, Florida tornado sirens were going 3 separate times. The app remained with a "tornado watch" alert. I have the American Red Cross Tornado app (which is free) and it was running the alerts as expected. I am disappointed I paid for this app. It should be free give it's flaws and the creator needs to understand the difference between not wanting to get alerts and emergency alerts because I suspect it's failure is due to setting off notifications. I had the app open and it still refused to sound the alarm. Update: the creator thought it would be a good idea to put the following dialog up: "Do you like NOAA radar pro? If so, Rate It." With the option to rate it or close the dialog. What a pathetic way of forcing people to leave good reviews. Update: now apparently Florida has a permanent green overlay suggesting constant rain under rectangle pattern. It's obviously a fluke. Your radar is broken. This app is worthless.
Works as advertised!
by Cletus B. on 2016/12/29 09:46
Great app, works great, weather or not you choose to give it permission to access your location. No crashes or hang ups and doesn't use your location for anything other than providing relevant weather info. Widget works great too. Never seen any advertisements on it... but, I also paid for the pro version from the start. The addition of being able to report/confirm the weather (as of a recent update) is great... assuming the users' honesty, it will help fine tune the overlays and increase prediction accuracy, especially in more unpredictable "scattered" conditions. Great work!
Lots of Great Options in the Settings
by Homeontheriver on 2017/09/21 22:05
I love this app! Great way to track storms. I love all the options. The settings allowed me to pick the overlay opacity which really helped during Hurricane Harvey because it covered such a big part of Texas it was hard to tell what was what until I lowered the opacity. I can adjust the loop speed faster if I am on wifi. The app designers have given users the option to set up the local weather display to suit their preferences. We can even send reports if there is a sudden change in the weather! Bravo & Thank you!
I want to love it, but...
by House of Panda on 2017/05/22 01:06
This app has always had two significant issues that make it impractical. 1. It always starts incredibly zoomed in, meaning you have to pinch zoom-out several times to see incoming weather. I don't know about you, but I can usually tell if it's raining at my current location by opening my eyes. I need to know what's on the way, not what's already here. 2. When you begin zooming out, your city's name pops up in a bubble that covers the city and, in my case, a significant portion of my state. This blocks my view of the weather itself. And I live in a rather large Midwestern state, so it's ridiculous that the city name scales larger and larger as you zoom out, covering the state. It's just bad design, and I don't know why no one else is bothered by the poor functionality and lack of customization. This isn't worth $4.
Forced location service enabling
by here in cali on 2018/10/01 09:19
A splash screen appeared that said to enable location services as always and there wasn’t really a way to get past that splash screen. There was a button on the bottom that said “ok I understand”, which was how I thought you could move past that screen, but no, it just took you to the settings to enable always on location. Going back to the app there was no way to go back from that screen or a button to move forward. I just ended up in a loop until I closed the app completely. I only want to use location services while I use an app. It saves on battery and I don’t need to have location services active when I am not using an app like that. Kind of a dirty move. Exiting the app was the only thing that worked eventually. I will move on to another app.
Not great.
by Clint Hanzlik on 2018/06/09 03:33
This app is constantly giving me weather alerts for a hurricane that is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Acapulco. I live in Montana and have alerts turned on for my city only. Also we had 50 mph winds yesterday and the whole time it showed 3 mph on the app. We had 3 storms over the course of a couple of weeks that dumped between 1 and 2 inches in a short period of time. Each time my basement flooded due to the overwhelming amount of water settling around my house and coming in my window wells. (Not the apps fault), but each time it showed a 0% chance of rain. A total waste of money for me. The wheather channel app is so much more accurate but I hate the adds. I wish there was something that was accurate and also add free. I’m willing to pay for a good weather app that is consistent.
NOAA Radar Pro
by TroyDC on 2017/07/23 22:33
Updated review: As you can read below, I loved this app. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in ages but main issues are with accuracy. It's pouring outside yet no alert, and app says otherwise. Another ex of this is fact I own both weather live as well as this app (both from same developer) yet info varies dramatically. Temperatures shown up to 10* difference, and neither seem to agree on anything. I'm hoping this will be fixed in future. Apalon is a great company and I own most of their apps. I just hope the apps aren't abandoned. Original review: I haven't found an Apalon app that disappoints yet. This one is no exception. Easy to use & customize.
What I am missing?
by electrogruve on 2017/04/02 14:23
I have tried every setting but I can't get the radar to show me anything tangible. I have changed the settings to Radar and Rain and still nothing. Just some large swathes of color that make no sense. I can hear thunder right now, see that it's raining out my window and still the radar shows nothing at my location. I can zoom out so I can see the whole state and it shows me some colored splotches that aren't helpful at all. Whatever this is, it's not radar. Edit Uninstalled and reinstalled and now its working.
Excellent weather app
by Google fan disappointed today on 2017/09/09 21:48
NOAA provides almost all the data used by every other weather app. Of course theirs is as good or better than others. I pay for this one and weather underground. Both are excellent. This one seems to be more configurable and helpful. Apps cannot be all things to all people without configuration. Offering common preconfigured packages could be an improvement. Tropical storms. Travel and airlines vs travel and driving vs local commute vs favorite places. Others are possible but maybe that conveys the idea.
The Best Weather App Out There
by Frayed & Confused on 2017/04/03 22:45
This is the BEST weather app that I have on my devices. Both my iPhone and my daughter's, as well as both of our iPads have this App... Because I grew up in an extremely "weather-conscious" household. I've been thru many, many weather events... But the most frightening to me is a tornado. Today there WAS a tornado in our city, and ALL of our devices began immediate emergency alerts. Thank God, we are all okay, but in situations where SECONDS can mean life or death, I very much appreciate being able to completely rely on this app!
Informative & accurate
by tvt390 on 2017/06/25 21:59
My local 6:00 am weather report has forecast scattered showers throughout the day, but it's now 1:00 pm and my dog would like me to take him for a walk. I patiently explain to him about the possibility of scattered showers, and he in turn asks me to check out the NOAA radar app. The radar map shows clear skies for the next two hours, so we are off to mark every tree in in the neighborhood once again. How handy is that? I do not actively participate in the marking ritual,
Delayed and inaccurate in our area
by Peacefulglow on 2017/05/23 21:35
We have contacted this app provider before and we are still getting inaccurate reports for our area. A huge storm passed through at 1:00pm today with major flooding and as usual, we just got a notice for heavy rains and a flash flood warning almost 5 hours late. We are on the southeastern coast near Charleston SC. My friends who have this app say it is inaccurate most of the time as well. When Matthew came through the weather report was clear. We have tried switching the location service off and rebooting as well as trying wifi and cellular service both off and on. But we still get warnings for the Pacific coastline and Pacific weather. Don't know why they can't locate us and give accurate weather.
Some weakness
by JoeGriffin on 2018/05/27 12:03
I was using the Weather Underground Storm app which the Weather Channel has now ruined and I’m looking for something as close to that as possible. I downloaded some free ones from the App Store that were not satisfactory so I purchased yours. The graphics are very weak and the ability to look forward needs to be 5 hours and not 1, I always liked the 50 miles circle feature too but the main thing this storm chaser liked was the tornado signature with a triangle and also you could look at a particular storms and its intensity and it would give you all the towns in its path and the time it would be there. Add those and I will spread the word for you.
Poor. Don't buy.
by Nametaken9321 on 2017/05/18 12:15
Here's today's forecast from another popular app: 'Cloudy skies this morning followed by thunderstorms this afternoon. A few storm may be severe.' This app: '.......'. That's right it doesn't give you a forecast for today. And if I hadn't watched the weatherman this morning I wouldn't know today has the potential of having a severe weather outbreak. Forecasts for days in the future consist of two words at most. Inexplicably Saturday is forecast as 'Clear.' But the chance of rain is 70%. Tomorrow shows 'Light rain.' Chance of rain, 0%. Makes no sense. Why this app gets such a high rating is a mystery to me. If you live an area where severe weather is common don't get this. Even if you don't it's poorly done.
Great graphics, easy to use, but......
by wx in FL on 2017/09/21 13:38
...But the precipitation forecast is confusing. For instance, the forecast summary for Tuesday shows "Thunderstorms" but the rain chance is 0% for Tuesday. Another day is summarized with the word "Sunny" but the rain chance is shown as 21%. Also interested to know why the precip forecast is frequently given with numbers like 2% or 38%. Since when has weather reporting achieved that kind of accuracy, especially when the-summarized weather for a given day frequently conflicts with the chances of precipitation?
Mostly there, power hog, major battery drain, problem with purchase multiple devices
by VonPadraig on 2017/01/07 08:11
MAJOR BATTERY DRAIN if you have it set for background refresh and alerts. But it is one of the better apps I've seen. I browse it when I want rather than relying on it giving me alerts. I like the graphics. It has a purchasing glitch. I cannot install the pro app on multiple devices. It won't authorize the pro app as already purchased, and won't allow the other devices to purchase the pro app because the family plan already owns the app. That is bad programming.
Love this app!
by sweetwatersea on 2019/07/06 21:04
I’m a weather info junkie— I have like five different app.
Best weather app I.ve ever used
by Mobil Agent-1 on 2018/09/01 12:13
I love this app! The time-lapse satellite view is amazing, it shows you areas of bad weather in the area and in what direction it seems to be moving. The alerts come in handy, specially during hurricane season. During hurricane Irma, I was able to track the squalls and know ahead of time when it would reach my area. I highly recommend this app for anyone that works outside or anyone planning a drive. Its been very useful. Worth every penny!
Great Job!
by JTKan90 on 2017/08/31 20:40
Seriously I usually use the apple app and it's always inaccurate even though I have finely combed thru all the settings and made sure location settings and all that were squared. Still this one is accurate. Very useful for socal heatwaves!! Great job on the style for the notifications center! The marquee across the lil app is so professional and classy please never erase it lol'. Jk. But seriously! >=| Thanks for the hard work! For real don't ever erase the marquee thingy. I hope you know what I mean lol
Weather Updates
by Angelswatching on 2018/02/12 14:32
When I was a child, my sister and I were always fascinated with the clouds. The clouds always let us know what the weather was going to be. As we became older, we both enjoy tracking weather, around the world. NOAA, is one of the sites I learned about in the 90's when I dated an Air Traffic Controller. I became quite intrigued with how much NOAA was advanced compared to news and other sites. Thank you for Great and accurate updates
ESSENTIAL APP!
by Techflame on 2017/10/17 12:52
This app will keep you safe the user interface is amazing this app is worth it! one complaint o have is: sometimes active hurricanes will not display like hurricane Ophelia I will not display and sometimes they slows down on my iPad Pro and please display Fire Warnings in the app they would be very useful for tracking wildfires and a sheet that lets you chose what warnings you want to trigger notifications other than those minor complaints this app is: WORTH IT for any iPhone or iPad!
Much better apps than this
by DenverE on 2018/05/14 12:37
Was at home at 2AM when out of the blue a huge thunderstorm developed over Denver. I clicked on the app to check radar and the radar didn't even have the storm within 5 miles of my location! The RadarUS app and Storm Shield are WAY better than NOAA Radar Pro. The app is difficult to navigate and the radar updating is terrible. Glad so many people are happy with it, but wish I could get my money back. A rare second night time storm moved through about 30 minutes later and still the radar had it miles away as it was pouring rain and hail at my apartment.
Great app!
by Impizim on 2017/03/07 05:36
Worth downloading. Has helped me get ahead of- in between- and in front of Polar Vortex storms across the USA without problems As a trucker, this should be a standard operating tool that anyone would find practical and easy to use. Only complaint:- if projections could be more than two hours ahead would be helpful and assist travelers to take alternative routes. Great job guys! .... And. just one alert would be fine. Not one EVERY two frickin seconds please
Amazing
by Cali redhead on 2017/07/12 17:36
I have 9 different weather apps installed on my phone and this one is better then the rest at this time. I do know that with every weather app updates are needed or the technology has some hiccups. When weather apps have hiccups for too long I uninstall those apps and give them another try after a long period of time. This app is awesome. I have two NOAA apps on my phone and they are solid performers. "Great work!" keep--it--up :)
Nice review but not forecast
by Eppie3225 on 2017/09/06 05:31
I was disappointed because I got the app expecting to see weather / storm forecasts but instead it only shows what has happened in the last few minutes. I had to download a different Storm Tracker app that shows where the storm has come from and where it is heading because I don't need history. This NOAA app is clearer with a much more user friendly in terms of reading details and being easy to see. The other app is rather cluttered but has better information. Wish I could combine them.
Better than the news
by Shelbyz1 on 2017/01/23 02:57
Seriously, this app is the most accurate and current weather calculator available today. I've tried many others, paid money for all sorts of things, and found myself completely satisfied with this one. I'm able to see what's coming up and prepare accordingly. When the news says clear skies, I check this app, and prepare for rain as predicted. Thank you so much!
No Global Radar incorrect rain data not present
by bobby1964 on 2018/06/27 05:47
How can a Pro edition even not have global radar??????? Yes I emailed dev with zero reply... and only NOW reply after a negative message... Rain layer is FUTURE not present or past, you’re misinforming your customers, apps that state rain map show in essence what is present, please refund my app package or I can contact Apple directly, I requested info multiple times with no replies except what is MISSTATED in your app. True or not rain map does not show present rain coverage? True hence useless feature because it does not accurately depict future radar, in fact often it will not remotely coincide with the forecast which btw too is often not correct.
Generally good although some glitches
by Rncde on 2017/12/16 17:23
Generally very accurate. However in the last few months there have been a few times when current conditions (temperature, rain) have been off even when I have hit update. (Temperature by over 10 degrees; showing dry when it is raining.) I don't know what is going on with that as I never had trouble in past years. I do like the ability to use the worldwide map and the alerts are very helpful here in tornado alley.

Don’t bother
by SBJ1107 on 2019/09/07 22:49
NOAA - backing Trump.
THE BEST ON ACCURACY AND CLARITY

by TheSpaceman123 on 2019/08/31 15:28
I saw this app expecting the perfect app for forecasting and meteorology nerdiness, expecting my $6 to be worth it.

Thanks.

I shouldn’t have to be forced to have this app always tracking me around. I should be able to gave it use location services only when I am using the app.
Not bad

In spite of the government shutdown, they gave decent information. However, even when on WiFi there seems to be inaccurate temps. I'm not into all the intricacies this app offers, but temps are very often "off." Comparing it to the native weather app on iPhone, it's obviously superior, but temps should be accurate.🤷🏽‍♂️

I enjoy this app because it is a straight- to-the-point app; no frills, user friendly app. You can use it to see snow, rain, fire, flood warnings, etc. I use this app regularly to see what weather is going on around the world and to track its projected path. A+ NOAA Radar Pro app!

Super app for tracking weather
Works great!
by Momlovesames on 2017/01/16 04:21
People were complaining about large location icons, fast radar time lapse, etc.

Poor. Don't buy.
by Nametaken9321 on 2017/05/18 12:15
Here's today's forecast from another popular app: 'Cloudy skies this morning followed by thunderstorms this afternoon.
