Slow downloads & One download at a time

Xfinity Stream used to have speedy downloads when you’re in a rush or about to head out the door. Now, they have these slow downloads that take almost an hour to download. The app also doesn’t allow you to download up to two or more shows or movies adding on to the slow downloads. Not cool Xfinity, not cool.

I used to love to use this app to stream my shows to my IPad Pro and IPhone XS Max. But weeks ago it stopped working. Nothing loads on either device. When I deleted the app and downloaded it again, it can’t even get to the login screen and gives me an error. I give up.

Application speed has improved but live TV and DVR streams STILL look mostly terrible on an iPad Pro 11 with AC WiFi from a Comcast 450mbps connection - why can’t Comcast fix this? The image will stabilize for a few seconds so I know it’s possible but then it looks terrible again - and stays mostly blurry and pixelated. Roku, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon - they ALL look great - just Comcast is a problem please fix this! *********************** Update, this app keeps getting worse. Constant buffering, video freezes, app crashes, and general inability to watch anything on an iPad Pro 11 make this app pointless. Thank you Comcast for making me appreciate all those other streaming apps that actually work great. (And I mean work great on the same device with the same connection.) I used to take video streaming for granted but no more! This garbage app is now unusable to the point where it would be funny if Comcast were not so ridiculously overpriced. **************** This app used to be in a good place now it seems they have to rebuild some capability and stability after iPad OS 13. What’s worse? - EVERYTHING is slower (and this is on an iPad Pro 11 with WiFi that can deliver full rated Xfinity speed.) - Especially it takes much longer for live streams to stabilize to a clear picture - Some DVR streams never stabilize and stay looking blurry and pixelated - FF/RW/navigate to new location on timeline in DVR streams is so slow as to be almost unusable - The app no longer offers the small picture in picture view when one swipes up and opens another app - instead stream just closes (big loss of usefulness - though this may be my inexperience with iOS 13 - if the capability is gone PLEASE BRING IT BACK) To the developers - this used to be a really good app and I hope you can return to that after some updates on iPad OS 13.

Whatever changes you all made... undo them. I haven’t been able to get it to work in a long time now. This app used to be one of my favorites and now I’m close to deleting it all together. *UPDATE: I still can’t get it to work at all... I click get started and nothing happens. We are easily going on a solid month now with me trying everyday multiple times.

There is only one channel I really watch ABC and that channel is zoomed in for some reason? Not a tv problem, only affects this channel. It cuts out top and bottom and both sides, like I said it is zoomed in. It would be nice to have it fixed so I can give it 5 stars.

DVR Playback Pixelated

DVR playback to iOS devices is heavily pixelated. Occasionally it locks into a solid HD picture, but that lasts maybe 30 to 60 seconds, then goes right back to a pixelated mess. It’s not my wifi, which has no issues with Netflix, YouTube, or any other streaming. This wasn’t a problem until a recent update with this app. I’m so ready to drop Comcast.

This app is alright. Please make it compatible with Google Chromecast!!! Every other streaming app I have is compatible with Google Chromecast and I feel like this needs to on it as well. Other then than it’s okay most channels only work with wifi at home, which is a bummer.

This app has limited usefulness for me. My Xfinity cable box died, so I figured no big deal, I’ll add the Xfinity Stream app to my Apple TV and that will get me by until I can get the box replaced. Nope! The app isn’t supported on Apple TV. Silly! So I also have a Chromecast, I’ll just cast from my phone to the TV that way. Nope! The brainiacs at Xfinity put in code to disallow any screen sharing being enabled on the phone, or they block the stream. Disappointed that I can’t get this working.

Priceis way over priced and we are made to buy channels we don’t use and want. Let’s buy only what we want to see and as in the orig, we paid for NO commercials at the start. It was better less but more.

This app is fine. That’s it, not great, not amazing, but just fine. It does what you want it to do for live TV, however, that’s it. You have to go to the xfinity stream website to rent movies. Then can come back to the app to watch it. You cannot rent movies from the app. Which is annoying. I also can’t watch a lot of shows from on demand because it must be “streamed from the in-home WiFi”. So dumb. I work on the road A LOT, so re added Hulu because at least then I can watch all my shows next day and don’t have to watch them from my house, and can watch it while on the road. If I am home I’ll watch it on my tv not the app. So dumb. So again this app is just fine.

Xfinity is a good Tv channels and Very awesome movies!!! But, you pay the cable for every month in including the internet and TV. Xfinity offers in some of months is very awesome offers. Excellent app for people could be watching tv on their Phones in Long trips and stream at everywhere you go.

Never had any problems with this app until about a week ago. App is entirely useless now. Most recent update causes app to crash on iPad after five seconds. iPad is up to date so I know that’s not the issue. Would really like some feedback from support on this.

I love this app,however, I am frustrated when I can’t watch certain channels, or shows I recorded, when I am out of town. We have WiFi but often it will say, you can’t watch this show, because you are not in your home. We pay a lot of money for service, and I think we should be able to watch whatever we want, with WiFi, anywhere.

I thought this was the greatest thing!!!! Until I tried to fast forward during a show and it freezes the logo of the channel on the screen and you can’t do anything anymore. I love the being able to push a button and fast forward through the commercials but if I want to skip something in show I should be able to do that as well

The only thing I’ve a problem with is the available to watch all home game without home WiFi. If I’m home i don’t need to use mobile to watch tv. It’s when I’m not home i need this service, so why block mobile app usage. That’s why it’s mobile. Other than this I’m fine with the service..

I only needed 100 mips download but to buy that you are bundled to buy a streaming of xfinity but they don’t have an app that you can use with a Firestick the most used streaming device for cord cutters so I pay for something I can’t use I

The stream app is my go-to for tv on the go. It was very handy during the hurricane season. The only issue I have is that some networks don’t have programming available on the app. If I’m paying for it at home, it should be on the app.

Freezes when maximizing on iPad.

Following one of the recent app or iOS updates, the stream began freezing when you change from a minimized screen to a maximum screen. It doesn’t freeze with the Netflix app, just with the Xfinity stream app. Is there a fix coming for this? It is very annoying, particularly when you are watching live tv.

The xfinity app ask me to change my password and once I changed it the option to view my recording disappeared as well as all the live channels I should be able to watch. I log out and relogged in multiple times. I even deleted the app and redownloaded loaded it.

Apple seems to make it a problem in the following ways and xfinity needs to amp it up Why can’t we have an ap on Apple TV for xfinity go or why can’t we use screen mirror to play it in a screen from phone or iPad When you can with a laptop or Roku etc This app is really good but we need the open flexibility and Apple and xfinity need to solve this it’s definitely not enjoyed by end users to be prevented from screen mirroring xfinjty go app

When I first got this several years ago I could select a show to record while sitting anywhere outside of the house! Then that changed and I had to be home to set a recording. That feature is back and I just set up a recording for home from my office. Yay!

Can’t stream to any devices other then your phone and only if your on your own WiFi. What a joke I can watch tv at home never mind sit on my phone and watch it. Only good for recording shows and only certain channels can be watched when your not on your particular WiFi. I even went and bought an hdmi to lightning cable adapter for my iPhone and they still blocked it. Just another way to get more money out of you.
A “must have” on iPad

In a nutshell, this app makes your iPad (or phone) effectively another screen when you are in the house. You have access to almost all the capabilities that you have on your X1 box except you can’t load other apps (e.g. no Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc through the app). When out of the house it’s a bit more limited, but being able to watch all my DVRed recordings when on business trips is pretty great for a free app. There was an important upgrade a few months ago that lets you manage all your recordings and set future recordings which had been missing since they had dropped the “remote” app. With that back it moves from 4 stars to 5 in my book. While I admit that I hate paying Comcast all this money for cable, between their excellent X1 interface and this app I’m not sure I can argue that I’m not getting pretty good value.

For the last 2 and a half months. My streaming app for the phone and roku have not worked! I noticed that my recordings stop showing up on the phone app so I contacted Xfinity. Of course I got the run around. I got passed around. Got frustrated and gave up. Then my roku app stoped working giving an error message like I don’t have a tv package- yet I do matter of fact. I only have one dvr box and internet and my bill is as high as it was when I had THREE boxes - but hey that’s not a problem to Xfinity because they are getting their money right. However STILL none of my streaming services work, AT ALL!!!

One of the things that I really like about it is that I can watch shows from all networks in one place and keep track of which episodes I have and have not watched. I did read some reviews saying that I can only watch it while connected to my WiFi’s at home. If that is the case, since I haven’t tried lately, I will be really disillusioned. I have plenty of other streaming tv/movie services that don’t require this. I like to travel and take them with me. But since I’ve only used it at home it’s been good. What I would improve is the home screen. It will show me shows that I am watching, but when I select it, it takes me to the wrong episode. I have to go to favorites and select an episode.

I have never held Comcast in high regard because of their price gouging..I was paying well over $200 for internet and one tv with basic cable and they could never answer why friends I knew with more services were paying the same or less. I cancelled cable service but kept internet which included broadcast television for an additional $10 they the streaming app and it was working out well for me until it wasn’t anymore. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to figure out why my app won’t show any channels or recordings any more. Was transferred to a higher level tech support to no avail. They reset credentials, establishments and nothing. I have internet and pay extra for broadcast television that I have not been able to access for weeks. Representatives tried to be helpful but I’m still without the services I pay for. They said a level 3 tech would call back in 24-72 and this is the second time I have been told that with no return phone call. We are limited to the internet service available in our area or I would have disconnected my service all together a long time ago
Can’t Sign-in Since iPadOS 13 Update: “Back Office Provision Error”

I can no longer sign-in to the app on my iPad ever since updating to iPadOS 13. When I attempt to login it gives an error advising “Back Office Provision Error”. It then has a pop up that says restarting device, and it goes through the whole process all over again with the same results. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times and still cannot get logged in. Calling Comcast customer services offers no help or solution for this issue. Really disappointing since we are paying for a service that we can no longer even use! We are left with a choice to either update to the latest iOS and lose out on this app working or stay with an outdated iOS version and continue to be able to use the app, but risk your device by not having the latest security fixes etc. I’ve heard this issue is also happening with phones updating to iOS 13. Due to paying for a service that I can no longer use and can’t offer help or a solution: 1 Star Rating

I loved the app until today. Some issues (i.e. can no longer chose what to record from the app, can only watch some stations when connected to home WiFi- I only use the app when I am not at home so that kind of defeats the purpose for me). Today there was an emergency weather alert. Great thanks for letting me know FOR HALF AN HOUR, and it’s still going I’ve given up trying to watch anything. No matter what I try to watch, and now I’ve tried on two devices- the weather alert goes on. 8 minutes was left of my show and I’ve been waiting half an hour to see the end. I decided to let it play I went and did some other tasks, made some coffee- came back and IT WAS STILL GOING. The severe weather is over an hour away. I don’t need this information to be the only thing I’m allowed to watch. Very frustrating. Let me add- I just checked to see if during the time I spent writing this maybe it had passed- nope still going and going. Weather alert is for another 23 minutes- I guess I have to try again after that. Ridiculous.

I love this app,however, I am frustrated when I can’t watch certain channels, or shows I recorded, when I am out of town. We have WiFi but often it will say, you can’t watch this show, because you are not in your home. We pay a lot of money for service, and I think we should be able to watch whatever we want, with WiFi, anywhere.

This app, in my opinion, is better than any other “cable” app I’ve ever had. I love how I can now record shows from my phone, so I don’t need to be home when I think of a show that I want to record. I also love how I can download a recorded show so that I can watch it later on when I don’t have WiFi. It’s awesome. My daughter is just about 3 yrs old and I’m able to keep her busy with this app, watching her favorite shows, when we’re running errands. I love watching tv on my phone when doing dishes and other house chores, so yea I love this app & I use it all the time.

There is a continual problem with this app on my ipad mini4 - sometimes the picture completely disappears when the pad’s home button is pressed to make the picture smaller, and even more frustrating is the app’s continual tendency not to restore the full picture (zoom out) when the app’s button is pressed, freezing the program being (or attempted to being) watched. This has become increasingly worse over time and you would think an extremely large media conglomerate like Comcast would have someone to fix this relatively simple app - I can only conclude this is yet again the corporate attitude (or lack thereof) of Comcast / Xfinity. Time for a change / more competition in the media market (that should be the American way).

Idk why tf they got rid of me being able to record shows from the app. I sometimes don’t have time to go home and record something. Or if I forgot to record something an couple hours before I won’t be able to record it since I might not be home in time. I no longer have the pleasure to simply record from the app. The stupidest change they decided to do. Also when I record something and a show was pushed back. Meaning I have half a show I didn’t want to watch and half of my show I did want to. I would delete that episode the search on demand. I click to watcj the episode I wanted to see and it brings me back to that recording I already recorded. So inconvenient.

Part of the reason I have stayed loyal to Xfinity is because of the Xfinity Stream app. But these last couple of years I have experienced on going issues and I’m about ready to cut cable all together! In the past my programs would skip as I was watching my different recordings. I tried calling customer service and only became infuriated because the rep could not speak clear English nor did they understand my issue because I was speaking to someone either in India or Mexico, or the Philippines. Now fast forward a year later I can only get through 5 minutes of each show that I watch then my show freezes up. I am hesitant to even contact customer service bc that would be a waste of my time. Very disappointed customer!;-(
Not Working After Fix

I’ve been having issues with this app after the most recent updates this past week. Nothing was loading, it would just show grayed out boxes for all listing and would not load any other page (such as favorites). I’ve tried updating all software for both device and app. I’ve tried deleting and reloading app and restarted my device. After re-downloading the app and restarting my device I’m now stuck on the “Get Started” page, it will not allow me to proceed and link up to our WiFi/Xfinity login. I’m not sure what else to do. This most recent round of fixes do not seem to be good ones. Otherwise I loved the app before and miss being able to use the services.

We have one TV in our household of two adults and two young children. At the same time we have several iOS devices including phones and tablets. I absolute love being able to set up the iPad by the sink as I do dishes and watch a football or baseball game (the only sports fan in the house). It has totally eliminated the need for us to have more than one television, which we use primarily for family viewing of movies and shows. Keep up the good work!

I can use this app wherever I go to watch TV whenever I want. And they couldn’t have done anything else to improve it that I can think of other than the new feature. And that is being able to set up to record programs when I am not at home. The only thing I can’t do is watch live programs that are broadcast when I am not within my home WiFi. So I simply record them to watch them later.

Since last Sunday, the TV listings have been all wrong. For example in my area Channel 2, should be WBBH, the NBC affiliate. Instead it shows HSN. This goes for every other channel also. Even some listings show the wrong shows for the network. Another example, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy should be on Channel 2 WBBH, instead it shows both shows on the ABC affiliate. I have deleted and re-installed the app, no changes. Please get this corrected. For years this has not been a problem. Update...Just discovered the TV station lineup being shown is for Orlando. I’m in Naples. C’mon guys, get your act together.

There is very limited ability to manually hide titles and categories. I can only hide certain ratings. I would like to hide the movie Sexdrive, but you can only block it from being played. I want to also prevent it from showing up in the movie list. I have children at home, and there is no way to hide the LGBTQ category. They are not ready to see this type of content, nor are they at an age where we are ready to discuss sexual orientation. Please make parental controls that are more customizable, and that respect the rights of parents.

So I’ve read some reviews that said they can’t record. I suggest removing and reloading the app as it does allow. It may have been down for a bit maybe you did not update your app. The app is great if you want to want to watch tv away from home. The live tv portion sometimes lags but the recordings and on demands are great. Also you can pull up status of each device and figure out, reset, etc from your phone. Great app I totally encourage Xfinity/Comcast. One last thing, they tell you how long a promo is for. Be aware of what your cost will jump to. We get phone, internet and cable with some premium channels and it is still cheaper than THE DISH cable only. Just an FYI for those who think they are getting ripped off.

So I’m watching on an iPad Pro. Every time I click on a movie or show to watch, it just shows the loading screen. If I put it in a mini player, it lets me watch. But when I go into full screen, it goes back into the loading view. I’ve restarted the app multiple times, but nothing’s working. I really love the app, and I appreciate the effort put into it, but it needs a few fixes. Thank you so much for providing a great platform to watch numerous movies and TV Shows.

Suddenly nothing works. Then I tried to uninstall/reinstall it on my (admittedly old) iPad and now it says it’s not compatible and won’t reinstall it! Ok, iPad is old and it’s super disappointing (it’s helped keep me sane, stuck in bed after surgery) but let’s just watch on my tiny phone screen. What’s this? Still won’t do anything! Come on!!! And why can’t I set recordings from my phone? I’m not home and suddenly remember there’s something on tonight I wanted to record. Oh well, guess I’ll have to watch it on demand with all the commercials that are so repetitive. Thanks.

When you want to browse or search for shows, app will always fail loading. Haven’t been able to get the app to work for weeks now. And in the past when it did work, quality and speed were terrible. Absolute waste of what could be a good customer experience, but they most likely have taken a stance to purposefully make a terrible streaming experience to keep people in front of a tv...cancel your Comcast and switch to streaming services. This company is trash and they’ve earned the reputation they have as one of the worst customer experiences out there.

I have this app so when I’m away from home I can watch channels I wouldn’t get else where. But 95% of the time I always get that message “due to license agreement you must be connect to your in home WiFi”..... If I’m home I’m not using the app I’m using my actual tv. I pay for my cable so I should be able to watch my cable via the app where ever I want to. I travel a lot and figured wow this app will be nice to have but it’s been more disappointing.... Get it figured out Xfinity and quit your corporate greed, it’ll be okay to let people who pay for their cable to watch it where ever they want. 😑

I love being able to bring up my shows when I’m traveling. Great concept. Only issue so far is that I have to be connected to my home network to watch any NFLNetwork channels. Why on Earth am I paying extra for these channels if I cannot watch them? I don’t need to watch from my phone if I’m at HOME where my tv is.

As can be expected from Comcast, this app over promises and fails to deliver. The app will buffer then stream then start buffering again. It pauses for no reason and must play must be started again manually. Audio will just drop and the app has to be completely closed and reopened to get it to play. The show will just start to buffer and never begin streaming again. It is necessary to close and restart the app to get it to work. All of this is while using their high speed internet, connected to their X1 cable modem/router. Boo Comcast, you should be able to do better than this.

I really like the fact that I can have the record option on my IPad now. Xfinity stopped that feature a few months ago and I now have it back. The customer support is very helpful when needed. If you’re having any issues just let them know and they will get you back up and running.

Why are we only given our recent recordings and not all of them on our mobile device? If I start watching a recording that I made in the distant past and desire to finish it on the go, I cannot. The app doesn’t even know that I was watching anything. If I have 70 recordings of a program, I should be able to watch any of those 70 recordings on the go not just the last say 26. To delete recordings, I like to watch them in the order I recorded them.

Seriously HATE that I cannot record shows from the app anymore. The beauty of having the app was being able to record shows even when I wasn’t home so that I could enjoy them once home. Also cannot watch live tv unless on my home WiFi (seriously what’s the purpose of that?). Can’t stream from my phone to my Apple TV. I could go on and on. Like UGH this app is pretty useless at this point. It’s not beneficial to me and with all the money we pay for cable you’d think we’d be able to thoroughly enjoy it!

The IOS (iPhone) app doesn’t work in full screen still. Before you could watch full screen on iPhone and now you can’t. All you did was turn the phone and it would go full screen and it hasn’t worked in months. It’s not my phone as I have a new iPhone and it didn’t work on my previous iPhone either a few months ago and Doesn’t work on my new iPhone either. It’s annoying I can’t watch full screen on my phone. Works on my bf galaxy but not my iPhone!! Please fix this as it’s been going on for months

I can watch all channels on the road except for major networks and a couple of cable channel. But, now that I can record again I can watch all my favorite network shows on the road too. I do have some connectivity issues occasionally but they haven’t prevented me from finishing my programs.

When I first got this several years ago I could select a show to record while sitting anywhere outside of the house! Then that changed and I had to be home to set a recording. That feature is back and I just set up a recording for home from my office. Yay!

I’ve read negative comments here but I have had nothing but enjoyment from this app. I get to watch ALL my dvred shows on my iPad as well scheduling upcoming shows by looking at the “live tv” listings. It has never failed me. Any failing only has been because of internet issues which is not the fault of this app.

Used to use this app with no trouble. Added hotspot to my cell plan and ran Xstream with no issues. Then suddenly it just stopped working. I’ve tried everything, including deleting the app and reinstalling and still nada. Ask X why it stopped working & the lay the blame on my hotspot, which is complete bull since there was never an issue before. X is zero help and wants me to contact my cell carrier for reasons why their app won’t work. Seriously?!?! The only way this app works now is if I’m at home using my home WiFi. What’s the point X - thx for destroying a good thing.

App works well but last update took away my ability to see the time of day and remaining percentage of power when watching tv with my iPhone 6s Plus in horizontal position. Why would you make such a small, unnecessary and irritating modification? Surely it was an oversight and you will correct it with the next update, right? Three stars due to all the little things xfinity is constantly tinkering with.

This app has not worked since the last update. I have deleted and reinstalled app, shut down my phone, everything to try and get it back working again. I am stuck at the get started screen and it’s not recognizing me as being one my in home WiFi. My husband did not delete but hasn’t been able to watch anything on his app either. The loading wheel just keeps spinning and nothing happens. The amount they jack us for you’d think they could get someone to fix the issues with this junk app..

Streams fine, but if you want to set a channel to record something while away from home.... fugettaboutit! For me this was the most useful part of my Directv app. Now with Xfinity, this option is gone. Unbelievable!! Update: They’ve fixed it!! Now can record from app!! Yay!! Thank you coders!!

I haven’t been able to stream any shows on this app through iPad, iPhone, Samsung phone, or Roku devices when connected to my Xfinity WiFi. It only works when using cell phone data or on other WiFi networks but not in my home. It’s very disappointing when you call the help center and even have a Comcast maintenance person come to your home and all they do is say I don’t know what the problem is. We pay for this service and are no longer able to use. Extremely unhappy!

The app is very inconsistent and as an Xfinity employee...I am shocked on how many issues the app has, including the inability for it to properly assess when your smart phones location services are on yet it still prompts you to go to device settings to turn on location services in order to access live....when the location services are already on... powering down your device refreshing wifi uninstalling and installing the app or turning location services on and off won’t fix this issue either...🤦🏽‍♂️

The app was never very good, but now nothing works. Literally can’t click anything (probably due to iOS 13) and the Comcast developers need to get on it since I pay for this service. I’m also very frustrated that it requires me to be on the home network to watch some shows... ummmm why would I be watching a show on my phone if I’m at home?? This streaming app is not as advertised by Comcast - so many restrictions, and the recent reviews reflect the frustration people feel. I guess I’m ready to fully cancel my Comcast subscription.

Why couldn’t TCM be left on our current cable plan? We’re already paying much more than we think necessary ($250 mo) since we only watch 3 channels: golf channel, FCN & TCM. Now suddenly we have to upgrade even more, getting more channels we don’t watch & pay even more for them. This is INSANITY! And why don’t you offer a customer loyalty savings pkg? We been with this cable company through every merger, etc since 1986 or longer! But all you offer are sign-on pkgs for new customers. Doesn’t seem like good business practices to me.

Never seems to work on first launch. Always need to exit the channel, and then choose it a 2nd time with work. Also no longer handles switching out of the app and back in as well as it used to (sometimes I lose video, sometimes it takes a few seconds for the audio to resume). Video/audio issues also happens when photo orientation is changed.

For what ever reason this app doesn’t work properly on my iPhone 11. The app only has free content and I pay over $200 a month for cable service. Before I got my new phone it worked is there and issue with it work with iPhone 11? Calling or chatting with customer service is useless because they can never give you an answer and only transfer you from place to place. This is the only device it doesn’t work on. Makes you really think if paying all this money if it really worth it.

I am in a nursing home for one month due to rehab from surgery. I brought my I-pad to keep in touch with friends. Then I remembered I have the xfinity ap. I am so happy to be able to watch the shows I miss due to therapy. This is not a fun time in my life, but my xfinity ap has made it just a little bit easier! Thank you xfinity!!!,

I enjoy this app and it is very convenient but when watching on my phone and the audio is around 5 seconds behind the video it makes it very frustrating. This only happens on certain channels but when it does I can find no way to fix it and the issue doesn’t exist when I watch live on my tv. If that would be fixed I would instantly give a five star review.

This company advertising the ease of use for this app the fact You can stream on the go watch football games anywhere. It’s a straight up line. I can’t watch games unless I’m connected to my in home WiFi. So I’m unable to go to a friends and watch some Games on my phone even though we already pay Xfinity to much money. Don’t lie to your customers every chance you guys get you try and make it harder and harder to watch my shows that I already pay for. I hate this app and the company. First review ever!

What the heck happened?

I used to watch shows without issue from my stream app just about every day. All of a sudden my favorites are gone and wrong and my “Live Channels” won’t pull up despite being connected to wifi. I’m signed in on my daughters IPad and husbands phone and it is working perfectly and everything is there but for the life of me will not work right on my phone despite being on my home wifi, logging in and out and even deleting the app and redownloading it. Not a happy camper right now.

Slow downloads & One download at a time

Xfinity Stream used to have speedy downloads when you’re in a rush or about to head out the door. Now, they have these slow downloads that take almost an hour to download. The app also doesn’t allow you to download up to two or more shows or movies adding on to the slow downloads. Not cool Xfinity, not cool.

I used to love to use this app to stream my shows to my IPad Pro and IPhone XS Max. But weeks ago it stopped working. Nothing loads on either device. When I deleted the app and downloaded it again, it can’t even get to the login screen and gives me an error. I give up.

Application speed has improved but live TV and DVR streams STILL look mostly terrible on an iPad Pro 11 with AC WiFi from a Comcast 450mbps connection - why can’t Comcast fix this? The image will stabilize for a few seconds so I know it’s possible but then it looks terrible again - and stays mostly blurry and pixelated. Roku, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon - they ALL look great - just Comcast is a problem please fix this! *********************** Update, this app keeps getting worse. Constant buffering, video freezes, app crashes, and general inability to watch anything on an iPad Pro 11 make this app pointless. Thank you Comcast for making me appreciate all those other streaming apps that actually work great. (And I mean work great on the same device with the same connection.) I used to take video streaming for granted but no more! This garbage app is now unusable to the point where it would be funny if Comcast were not so ridiculously overpriced. **************** This app used to be in a good place now it seems they have to rebuild some capability and stability after iPad OS 13. What’s worse? - EVERYTHING is slower (and this is on an iPad Pro 11 with WiFi that can deliver full rated Xfinity speed.) - Especially it takes much longer for live streams to stabilize to a clear picture - Some DVR streams never stabilize and stay looking blurry and pixelated - FF/RW/navigate to new location on timeline in DVR streams is so slow as to be almost unusable - The app no longer offers the small picture in picture view when one swipes up and opens another app - instead stream just closes (big loss of usefulness - though this may be my inexperience with iOS 13 - if the capability is gone PLEASE BRING IT BACK) To the developers - this used to be a really good app and I hope you can return to that after some updates on iPad OS 13.

There is only one channel I really watch ABC and that channel is zoomed in for some reason? Not a tv problem, only affects this channel. It cuts out top and bottom and both sides, like I said it is zoomed in. It would be nice to have it fixed so I can give it 5 stars.

DVR Playback Pixelated

DVR playback to iOS devices is heavily pixelated. Occasionally it locks into a solid HD picture, but that lasts maybe 30 to 60 seconds, then goes right back to a pixelated mess. It’s not my wifi, which has no issues with Netflix, YouTube, or any other streaming. This wasn’t a problem until a recent update with this app. I’m so ready to drop Comcast.

This app has limited usefulness for me. My Xfinity cable box died, so I figured no big deal, I’ll add the Xfinity Stream app to my Apple TV and that will get me by until I can get the box replaced. Nope! The app isn’t supported on Apple TV. Silly! So I also have a Chromecast, I’ll just cast from my phone to the TV that way. Nope! The brainiacs at Xfinity put in code to disallow any screen sharing being enabled on the phone, or they block the stream. Disappointed that I can’t get this working.

This app is fine. That’s it, not great, not amazing, but just fine. It does what you want it to do for live TV, however, that’s it. You have to go to the xfinity stream website to rent movies. Then can come back to the app to watch it. You cannot rent movies from the app. Which is annoying. I also can’t watch a lot of shows from on demand because it must be “streamed from the in-home WiFi”. So dumb. I work on the road A LOT, so re added Hulu because at least then I can watch all my shows next day and don’t have to watch them from my house, and can watch it while on the road. If I am home I’ll watch it on my tv not the app. So dumb. So again this app is just fine.

Never had any problems with this app until about a week ago. App is entirely useless now. Most recent update causes app to crash on iPad after five seconds. iPad is up to date so I know that’s not the issue. Would really like some feedback from support on this.

We have WiFi but often it will say, you can’t watch this show, because you are not in your home. We pay a lot of money for service, and I think we should be able to watch whatever we want, with WiFi, anywhere.

I thought this was the greatest thing!!!! Until I tried to fast forward during a show and it freezes the logo of the channel on the screen and you can’t do anything anymore. I love the being able to push a button and fast forward through the commercials but if I want to skip something in show I should be able to do that as well

The stream app is my go-to for tv on the go. It was very handy during the hurricane season. The only issue I have is that some networks don’t have programming available on the app. If I’m paying for it at home, it should be on the app.

Freezes when maximizing on iPad.

Following one of the recent app or iOS updates, the stream began freezing when you change from a minimized screen to a maximum screen. It doesn’t freeze with the Netflix app, just with the Xfinity stream app. Is there a fix coming for this? It is very annoying, particularly when you are watching live tv.

The xfinity app ask me to change my password and once I changed it the option to view my recording disappeared as well as all the live channels I should be able to watch. I log out and relogged in multiple times. I even deleted the app and redownloaded loaded it.

Can’t stream to any devices other then your phone and only if your on your own WiFi. What a joke I can watch tv at home never mind sit on my phone and watch it. Only good for recording shows and only certain channels can be watched when your not on your particular WiFi. I even went and bought an hdmi to lightning cable adapter for my iPhone and they still blocked it. Just another way to get more money out of you.
A “must have” on iPad

In a nutshell, this app makes your iPad (or phone) effectively another screen when you are in the house. You have access to almost all the capabilities that you have on your X1 box except you can’t load other apps (e.g. no Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc through the app). When out of the house it’s a bit more limited, but being able to watch all my DVRed recordings when on business trips is pretty great for a free app. There was an important upgrade a few months ago that lets you manage all your recordings and set future recordings which had been missing since they had dropped the “remote” app. With that back it moves from 4 stars to 5 in my book. While I admit that I hate paying Comcast all this money for cable, between their excellent X1 interface and this app I’m not sure I can argue that I’m not getting pretty good value.

For the last 2 and a half months. My streaming app for the phone and roku have not worked! I noticed that my recordings stop showing up on the phone app so I contacted Xfinity. Of course I got the run around. I got passed around. Got frustrated and gave up. Then my roku app stoped working giving an error message like I don’t have a tv package- yet I do matter of fact. I only have one dvr box and internet and my bill is as high as it was when I had THREE boxes - but hey that’s not a problem to Xfinity because they are getting their money right. However STILL none of my streaming services work, AT ALL!!!

One of the things that I really like about it is that I can watch shows from all networks in one place and keep track of which episodes I have and have not watched. I did read some reviews saying that I can only watch it while connected to my WiFi’s at home. If that is the case, since I haven’t tried lately, I will be really disillusioned. I have plenty of other streaming tv/movie services that don’t require this. I like to travel and take them with me. But since I’ve only used it at home it’s been good. What I would improve is the home screen. It will show me shows that I am watching, but when I select it, it takes me to the wrong episode. I have to go to favorites and select an episode.

I have never held Comcast in high regard because of their price gouging..I was paying well over $200 for internet and one tv with basic cable and they could never answer why friends I knew with more services were paying the same or less. I cancelled cable service but kept internet which included broadcast television for an additional $10 they the streaming app and it was working out well for me until it wasn’t anymore. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to figure out why my app won’t show any channels or recordings any more. Was transferred to a higher level tech support to no avail. They reset credentials, establishments and nothing. I have internet and pay extra for broadcast television that I have not been able to access for weeks. Representatives tried to be helpful but I’m still without the services I pay for. They said a level 3 tech would call back in 24-72 and this is the second time I have been told that with no return phone call. We are limited to the internet service available in our area or I would have disconnected my service all together a long time ago
Can’t Sign-in Since iPadOS 13 Update: “Back Office Provision Error”

I can no longer sign-in to the app on my iPad ever since updating to iPadOS 13. When I attempt to login it gives an error advising “Back Office Provision Error”. It then has a pop up that says restarting device, and it goes through the whole process all over again with the same results. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times and still cannot get logged in. Calling Comcast customer services offers no help or solution for this issue. Really disappointing since we are paying for a service that we can no longer even use! We are left with a choice to either update to the latest iOS and lose out on this app working or stay with an outdated iOS version and continue to be able to use the app, but risk your device by not having the latest security fixes etc. I’ve heard this issue is also happening with phones updating to iOS 13. Due to paying for a service that I can no longer use and can’t offer help or a solution: 1 Star Rating

I loved the app until today. Some issues (i.e. can no longer chose what to record from the app, can only watch some stations when connected to home WiFi- I only use the app when I am not at home so that kind of defeats the purpose for me). Today there was an emergency weather alert. Great thanks for letting me know FOR HALF AN HOUR, and it’s still going I’ve given up trying to watch anything. No matter what I try to watch, and now I’ve tried on two devices- the weather alert goes on. 8 minutes was left of my show and I’ve been waiting half an hour to see the end. I decided to let it play I went and did some other tasks, made some coffee- came back and IT WAS STILL GOING. The severe weather is over an hour away. I don’t need this information to be the only thing I’m allowed to watch. Very frustrating. Let me add- I just checked to see if during the time I spent writing this maybe it had passed- nope still going and going. Weather alert is for another 23 minutes- I guess I have to try again after that. Ridiculous.

I also love how I can download a recorded show so that I can watch it later on when I don’t have WiFi. It’s awesome. My daughter is just about 3 yrs old and I’m able to keep her busy with this app, watching her favorite shows, when we’re running errands. I love watching tv on my phone when doing dishes and other house chores, so yea I love this app & I use it all the time.

There is a continual problem with this app on my ipad mini4 - sometimes the picture completely disappears when the pad’s home button is pressed to make the picture smaller, and even more frustrating is the app’s continual tendency not to restore the full picture (zoom out) when the app’s button is pressed, freezing the program being (or attempted to being) watched. This has become increasingly worse over time and you would think an extremely large media conglomerate like Comcast would have someone to fix this relatively simple app - I can only conclude this is yet again the corporate attitude (or lack thereof) of Comcast / Xfinity. Time for a change / more competition in the media market (that should be the American way).

Idk why tf they got rid of me being able to record shows from the app. I sometimes don’t have time to go home and record something. Or if I forgot to record something an couple hours before I won’t be able to record it since I might not be home in time. I no longer have the pleasure to simply record from the app. The stupidest change they decided to do. Also when I record something and a show was pushed back. Meaning I have half a show I didn’t want to watch and half of my show I did want to. I would delete that episode the search on demand. I click to watcj the episode I wanted to see and it brings me back to that recording I already recorded. So inconvenient.

Part of the reason I have stayed loyal to Xfinity is because of the Xfinity Stream app. But these last couple of years I have experienced on going issues and I’m about ready to cut cable all together! In the past my programs would skip as I was watching my different recordings. I tried calling customer service and only became infuriated because the rep could not speak clear English nor did they understand my issue because I was speaking to someone either in India or Mexico, or the Philippines. Now fast forward a year later I can only get through 5 minutes of each show that I watch then my show freezes up. I am hesitant to even contact customer service bc that would be a waste of my time. Very disappointed customer!;-(
Not Working After Fix

I’ve been having issues with this app after the most recent updates this past week. Nothing was loading, it would just show grayed out boxes for all listing and would not load any other page (such as favorites). I’ve tried updating all software for both device and app. I’ve tried deleting and reloading app and restarted my device. After re-downloading the app and restarting my device I’m now stuck on the “Get Started” page, it will not allow me to proceed and link up to our WiFi/Xfinity login. I’m not sure what else to do. This most recent round of fixes do not seem to be good ones. Otherwise I loved the app before and miss being able to use the services.

We have one TV in our household of two adults and two young children. At the same time we have several iOS devices including phones and tablets. I absolute love being able to set up the iPad by the sink as I do dishes and watch a football or baseball game (the only sports fan in the house). It has totally eliminated the need for us to have more than one television, which we use primarily for family viewing of movies and shows. Keep up the good work!

I can use this app wherever I go to watch TV whenever I want. And they couldn’t have done anything else to improve it that I can think of other than the new feature. And that is being able to set up to record programs when I am not at home. The only thing I can’t do is watch live programs that are broadcast when I am not within my home WiFi. So I simply record them to watch them later.

Apple seems to make it a problem in the following ways and xfinity needs to amp it up Why can’t we have an ap on Apple TV for xfinity go or why can’t we use screen mirror to play it in a screen from phone or iPad When you can with a laptop or Roku etc This app is really good but we need the open flexibility and Apple and xfinity need to solve this it’s definitely not enjoyed by end users to be prevented from screen mirroring xfinjty go app

I think Xfinity is pretty good the app layout is a easy format for people to get used to and use and yes I think that they should start a loyalty customer discount program for customers that stick with them through the promotion and stays with them after the promotion is over that is a genius idea for them to do for the customers that love Xfinity service in mobile service & Internet & voice in home security service
TV Listings

Since last Sunday, the TV listings have been all wrong. For example in my area Channel 2, should be WBBH, the NBC affiliate. Instead it shows HSN. This goes for every other channel also. Even some listings show the wrong shows for the network. Another example, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy should be on Channel 2 WBBH, instead it shows both shows on the ABC affiliate. I have deleted and re-installed the app, no changes. Please get this corrected. For years this has not been a problem. Update...Just discovered the TV station lineup being shown is for Orlando. I’m in Naples. C’mon guys, get your act together.

There is very limited ability to manually hide titles and categories. I can only hide certain ratings. I would like to hide the movie Sexdrive, but you can only block it from being played. I want to also prevent it from showing up in the movie list. I have children at home, and there is no way to hide the LGBTQ category. They are not ready to see this type of content, nor are they at an age where we are ready to discuss sexual orientation. Please make parental controls that are more customizable, and that respect the rights of parents.

So I’ve read some reviews that said they can’t record. I suggest removing and reloading the app as it does allow. It may have been down for a bit maybe you did not update your app. The app is great if you want to want to watch tv away from home. The live tv portion sometimes lags but the recordings and on demands are great. Also you can pull up status of each device and figure out, reset, etc from your phone. Great app I totally encourage Xfinity/Comcast. One last thing, they tell you how long a promo is for. Be aware of what your cost will jump to. We get phone, internet and cable with some premium channels and it is still cheaper than THE DISH cable only. Just an FYI for those who think they are getting ripped off.
Won’t let me watch anything

So I’m watching on an iPad Pro. Every time I click on a movie or show to watch, it just shows the loading screen. If I put it in a mini player, it lets me watch. But when I go into full screen, it goes back into the loading view. I’ve restarted the app multiple times, but nothing’s working. I really love the app, and I appreciate the effort put into it, but it needs a few fixes. Thank you so much for providing a great platform to watch numerous movies and TV Shows.

Suddenly nothing works. Then I tried to uninstall/reinstall it on my (admittedly old) iPad and now it says it’s not compatible and won’t reinstall it! Ok, iPad is old and it’s super disappointing (it’s helped keep me sane, stuck in bed after surgery) but let’s just watch on my tiny phone screen. What’s this? Still won’t do anything! Come on!!! And why can’t I set recordings from my phone? I’m not home and suddenly remember there’s something on tonight I wanted to record. Oh well, guess I’ll have to watch it on demand with all the commercials that are so repetitive. Thanks.

When you want to browse or search for shows, app will always fail loading. Haven’t been able to get the app to work for weeks now. And in the past when it did work, quality and speed were terrible. Absolute waste of what could be a good customer experience, but they most likely have taken a stance to purposefully make a terrible streaming experience to keep people in front of a tv...cancel your Comcast and switch to streaming services. This company is trash and they’ve earned the reputation they have as one of the worst customer experiences out there.

I have this app so when I’m away from home I can watch channels I wouldn’t get else where. But 95% of the time I always get that message “due to license agreement you must be connect to your in home WiFi”..... If I’m home I’m not using the app I’m using my actual tv. I pay for my cable so I should be able to watch my cable via the app where ever I want to. I travel a lot and figured wow this app will be nice to have but it’s been more disappointing.... Get it figured out Xfinity and quit your corporate greed, it’ll be okay to let people who pay for their cable to watch it where ever they want. 😑

I love being able to bring up my shows when I’m traveling. Great concept. Only issue so far is that I have to be connected to my home network to watch any NFLNetwork channels. Why on Earth am I paying extra for these channels if I cannot watch them? I don’t need to watch from my phone if I’m at HOME where my tv is.

As can be expected from Comcast, this app over promises and fails to deliver. The app will buffer then stream then start buffering again. It pauses for no reason and must play must be started again manually. Audio will just drop and the app has to be completely closed and reopened to get it to play. The show will just start to buffer and never begin streaming again. It is necessary to close and restart the app to get it to work. All of this is while using their high speed internet, connected to their X1 cable modem/router. Boo Comcast, you should be able to do better than this.

I really like the fact that I can have the record option on my IPad now. Xfinity stopped that feature a few months ago and I now have it back. The customer support is very helpful when needed. If you’re having any issues just let them know and they will get you back up and running.

Why are we only given our recent recordings and not all of them on our mobile device? If I start watching a recording that I made in the distant past and desire to finish it on the go, I cannot. The app doesn’t even know that I was watching anything. If I have 70 recordings of a program, I should be able to watch any of those 70 recordings on the go not just the last say 26. To delete recordings, I like to watch them in the order I recorded them.

Seriously HATE that I cannot record shows from the app anymore. The beauty of having the app was being able to record shows even when I wasn’t home so that I could enjoy them once home. Also cannot watch live tv unless on my home WiFi (seriously what’s the purpose of that?). Can’t stream from my phone to my Apple TV. I could go on and on. Like UGH this app is pretty useless at this point. It’s not beneficial to me and with all the money we pay for cable you’d think we’d be able to thoroughly enjoy it!

The IOS (iPhone) app doesn’t work in full screen still. Before you could watch full screen on iPhone and now you can’t. All you did was turn the phone and it would go full screen and it hasn’t worked in months. It’s not my phone as I have a new iPhone and it didn’t work on my previous iPhone either a few months ago and Doesn’t work on my new iPhone either. It’s annoying I can’t watch full screen on my phone. Works on my bf galaxy but not my iPhone!! Please fix this as it’s been going on for months

I love the app I can watch tv anywhere and anytime! I love the internet service and it’s super fast and and easy to use I hate how highly priced the bill I end up with but I want to be able to watch what I want when I want so I will always have cable and pay it even tho I struggle to pay it on time

I can watch all channels on the road except for major networks and a couple of cable channel. But, now that I can record again I can watch all my favorite network shows on the road too. I do have some connectivity issues occasionally but they haven’t prevented me from finishing my programs.

When I first got this several years ago I could select a show to record while sitting anywhere outside of the house! Then that changed and I had to be home to set a recording. That feature is back and I just set up a recording for home from my office. Yay!

I’ve read negative comments here but I have had nothing but enjoyment from this app. I get to watch ALL my dvred shows on my iPad as well scheduling upcoming shows by looking at the “live tv” listings. It has never failed me. Any failing only has been because of internet issues which is not the fault of this app.

Used to use this app with no trouble. Added hotspot to my cell plan and ran Xstream with no issues. Then suddenly it just stopped working. I’ve tried everything, including deleting the app and reinstalling and still nada. Ask X why it stopped working & the lay the blame on my hotspot, which is complete bull since there was never an issue before. X is zero help and wants me to contact my cell carrier for reasons why their app won’t work. Seriously?!?! The only way this app works now is if I’m at home using my home WiFi. What’s the point X - thx for destroying a good thing.

App works well but last update took away my ability to see the time of day and remaining percentage of power when watching tv with my iPhone 6s Plus in horizontal position. Why would you make such a small, unnecessary and irritating modification? Surely it was an oversight and you will correct it with the next update, right? Three stars due to all the little things xfinity is constantly tinkering with.

This app has not worked since the last update. I have deleted and reinstalled app, shut down my phone, everything to try and get it back working again. I am stuck at the get started screen and it’s not recognizing me as being one my in home WiFi. My husband did not delete but hasn’t been able to watch anything on his app either. The loading wheel just keeps spinning and nothing happens. The amount they jack us for you’d think they could get someone to fix the issues with this junk app..

Streams fine, but if you want to set a channel to record something while away from home.... fugettaboutit! For me this was the most useful part of my Directv app. Now with Xfinity, this option is gone. Unbelievable!! Update: They’ve fixed it!! Now can record from app!! Yay!! Thank you coders!!

I haven’t been able to stream any shows on this app through iPad, iPhone, Samsung phone, or Roku devices when connected to my Xfinity WiFi. It only works when using cell phone data or on other WiFi networks but not in my home. It’s very disappointing when you call the help center and even have a Comcast maintenance person come to your home and all they do is say I don’t know what the problem is. We pay for this service and are no longer able to use. Extremely unhappy!

The app is very inconsistent and as an Xfinity employee...I am shocked on how many issues the app has, including the inability for it to properly assess when your smart phones location services are on yet it still prompts you to go to device settings to turn on location services in order to access live....when the location services are already on... powering down your device refreshing wifi uninstalling and installing the app or turning location services on and off won’t fix this issue either...🤦🏽‍♂️

The app was never very good, but now nothing works. Literally can’t click anything (probably due to iOS 13) and the Comcast developers need to get on it since I pay for this service. I’m also very frustrated that it requires me to be on the home network to watch some shows... ummmm why would I be watching a show on my phone if I’m at home?? This streaming app is not as advertised by Comcast - so many restrictions, and the recent reviews reflect the frustration people feel. I guess I’m ready to fully cancel my Comcast subscription.

Moving TCM to a costly upgrade?

Why couldn’t TCM be left on our current cable plan? We’re already paying much more than we think necessary ($250 mo) since we only watch 3 channels: golf channel, FCN & TCM. Now suddenly we have to upgrade even more, getting more channels we don’t watch & pay even more for them. This is INSANITY! And why don’t you offer a customer loyalty savings pkg? We been with this cable company through every merger, etc since 1986 or longer! But all you offer are sign-on pkgs for new customers. Doesn’t seem like good business practices to me.

Never seems to work on first launch. Always need to exit the channel, and then choose it a 2nd time with work. Also no longer handles switching out of the app and back in as well as it used to (sometimes I lose video, sometimes it takes a few seconds for the audio to resume). Video/audio issues also happens when photo orientation is changed.

For what ever reason this app doesn’t work properly on my iPhone 11. The app only has free content and I pay over $200 a month for cable service. Before I got my new phone it worked is there and issue with it work with iPhone 11? Calling or chatting with customer service is useless because they can never give you an answer and only transfer you from place to place. This is the only device it doesn’t work on. Makes you really think if paying all this money if it really worth it.

I am in a nursing home for one month due to rehab from surgery. I brought my I-pad to keep in touch with friends. Then I remembered I have the xfinity ap. I am so happy to be able to watch the shows I miss due to therapy. This is not a fun time in my life, but my xfinity ap has made it just a little bit easier! Thank you xfinity!!!,

I enjoy this app and it is very convenient but when watching on my phone and the audio is around 5 seconds behind the video it makes it very frustrating. This only happens on certain channels but when it does I can find no way to fix it and the issue doesn’t exist when I watch live on my tv. If that would be fixed I would instantly give a five star review.

This company advertising the ease of use for this app the fact You can stream on the go watch football games anywhere. It’s a straight up line. I can’t watch games unless I’m connected to my in home WiFi. So I’m unable to go to a friends and watch some Games on my phone even though we already pay Xfinity to much money. Don’t lie to your customers every chance you guys get you try and make it harder and harder to watch my shows that I already pay for. I hate this app and the company. First review ever!

I use this app just about every day. I can no longer afford cable so this has been wonderful for me. I watch my favorite shows on my iPad that I’ve recorded with the app. I am so thankful that this is an option for me. Life can be hard sometimes, but this is a little ray of sunshine.

I used to watch shows without issue from my stream app just about every day. All of a sudden my favorites are gone and wrong and my “Live Channels” won’t pull up despite being connected to wifi. I’m signed in on my daughters IPad and husbands phone and it is working perfectly and everything is there but for the life of me will not work right on my phone despite being on my home wifi, logging in and out and even deleting the app and redownloading it. Not a happy camper right now.
