Bad first impression.
by aFutureMartian on 2019/11/17 16:24
Started this game, I had server issues on second expansion attempt. And after I linked my account I lost all previous progress. Glad I haven’t thrown any cash at this game. The only reason I didn’t rate it lower is because the appearance is pretty good quality and the interface is average. But a terrible first impression and the frustration at the start suggests to me this isn’t going to be worth it.
Best game ever

Sluggish and crashes. Fun when it works
by Chrisxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on 2019/11/17 03:31
Constantly restarting the game as it crashes a lot. Support is volunteers only. Fun when it’s working though. Needs better tech.

New updates?
by Sergio Dimas on 2019/11/15 22:58
I’m really excited to play on the new battlegrounds mode for guilds, but am unable to. I tap the flags to enter to help obtain that part of the map, but nothing happens. Is this a glitch?
Exciting

I love the simple graphics and slower paced life about this game! There aren’t many games I have continued to play for this long!
Horrible customer service
by Av8rh8r on 2019/11/15 05:07
I have paid a few thousand dollars over the last 3 years to advance my play in the game. I’ve dealt with all the glitches that happen from time to time with patience and understanding. After having a couple recent glitches/game errors I decided that if I’m paying for the game I should receive a better product than what I’ve been getting. I decided to report a glitch on the auction. It would not allow me to place a higher bid. I’d been watching a cherry blossom selection kit for two hours. With a couple minutes left in the auction I began placing higher bids. The current bid was reasonable and no other player had increased it for at least 40 minutes. The auction would not accept my bid. When I would enter it would blank and tell me to enter a bid greater than the existing bid. I tried several higher bids and the game would not accept it and then time ran out. I reported the problem, not really looking for compensation but hoping Inno would resolve it. For what I’ve paid I should be receiving a better product. The responses I received were extremely aggravating. They were telling me I didn’t place my bid until after the auction. Nothing I described would have happened if it were after the auction. I tried several times to explain that they were not understanding the situation and it was an actual problem with the game. After speaking with other players it is obvious this is not an isolated issue. Because of that response, and lack of customer service, I have decided to never again put money into this game. If they are going to treat it like it’s a free game that shouldn’t compensate for errors then so will I. Inno has lost a good paying customer in me. I will pay the value Inno thinks I’m worth. Zero
Great game
by W1cket on 2019/11/15 03:36
Lots of fun building, doing research and developing an economy. But it should be possible to opt out of having the city attacked and plundered. Fine for those who don’t mind, but it spoils the game for some. I made 4 friends in the game who stopped playing because of that.
Mostly a great game
by JeffG30 on 2019/11/15 01:19
I am a long time SimCity player. Forge of Empires is very similar but adds a fighting component. They have many competitions for special blds through the year that add enjoyment. If that was it, I would rate it 5 stars. However, there is a Player vs Player component to this game. They do not allow you to opt out of it. That part is just trash, and significantly reduces the enjoyment of the game. You build up your city and make your items, just to have someone who doesnt understand how to play, steal your items. By the time you get to where you can eat people or hold them off, you get to the end of a era and your fighting units you cant beat. It is sad that they have a really good game that is so negatively impacted by this really horrible option.
Trading
by juju2467 on 2019/11/14 21:33
Awesome game and about how you research It’s awesome but in the AppStore it says trade HOW do go to higher age because I’m at Bronze Age so is that the case because if so witch age The modern age when unlock airplanes
pointless
by Hatefulhippy on 2019/11/14 21:09
dont even bother to start this game. the designers have been steadily rigging the game to suit the top players and keep everyone else down. if your not willing to spend hundreds of dollars a week you will always be last in everything in this game
Glitches

Like the game but recently I have been experiencing a lot of glitches.

Fun and well laid out
Thank you...
by CrispyBiskit on 2019/11/14 04:57
This is a slow-paced game that requires intention and willingness to learn. It’s not like other games where you build as quickly as possible and are pressured to spend to be the best. Here in FoE, what you put into it determines quality. It could take years to get to the last level, or you can spend like a fiend and get there quickly. Either way it’s all good. It’s a relaxing game that is a pleasure to spend to spend time playing
Glitchy, greedy
by Dugard32 on 2019/11/13 22:32
I love/hate this game. Latest update left me without a key function... disappointed but I have been looking for a reason to quit, now I suppose I have it.
Fun at first ..... but
by spyder1024 on 2019/11/13 20:06
The game was fun at first but it soon bogged down because the expansions are too limited or unavailable. Times to produce supplies are not equitable. Example, 15 minutes to produce 25 supplies or 60 minutes to produce 60 supplies.
I’m enjoying this game.
by TheRyz on 2019/11/13 07:58
I’ve always enjoyed this genre. I really like that I can go between my phone, computer and pad depending on where I am.
Pretty good
by Fergus D. on 2019/11/13 01:06
I like it. It is a fun game where you get to run a city and make an army and stuff. I like these kind of simulation games where you own a business, town and more. I like it and you should play it too! 😉
More Variety
by Vic the lion on 2019/11/13 00:36
The event games could have a little more variety and be a bit shorter. Maybe, every third level the game changes a bit to enhance the experience.
Freezing issues
by tocgpzypsptwgpspgpy on 2019/11/12 03:53
Great game but every minute the game freezes for about 2 seconds☹️
Great game with some minor downsides
by s.haus on 2019/11/12 01:50
Just recently began playing this game and honestly love nearly everything about it......with a few exceptions. I play 90% through the mobile app, and I do wish I had some of the same controls/features that are available on the desktop version. I hate that I cannot check on my guilds activity unless I am on the desktop, as well as I cannot see who in my guild made a particular trade or donated to the treasury unless I’m on the desktop. I also wish guild founders/leaders had more control over their guild in general. For example if there is a member who accidentally (or intentionally to be annoying) posts something, there is no way to get rid of it. As the guild leader, there should be a way to control these things, otherwise there is no way of enforcing rules of the guild other than simply kicking members who don’t comply. Other than minor things like this the game is fantastic.
I can’t even load it
by Fcjhdg on 2019/11/11 07:29
I can’t connect my FB account, I couldn’t load the game at all and when it did load it froze. So far it’s getting poo but I’ll see if it gets better

Why do people say this game is bad?
by Imakebadgoodreviews on 2019/11/10 18:16
Now, I have hardly played this game, so I may encounter these problems people say later, but, this game isn’t that bad. I, again, never encountered the PvP aspect of this game yet, but, Clash of Clans throws you straight into PvP. And, yes, even when someone attacks your village it doesn’t really take away your resources, but either way if your attacked, DEAL WITH IT! Sure you could repeatedly be attacked, but you might as well always get the 1 day resources, so when you are attacked, you still have resources later on. But of course, this is my opinion, and yet have just finished the Bronze Age. So over all, five stars.
Love Forge of Empires!
by howdoiwritereviewifnonicknames on 2019/11/10 17:18
The game has such flexibility and variety that every person on earth can have fun and find it interesting! The game has fighting and battles, building cities, collecting, building communities, making friends, exciting times, and calm times. Guilds can be fast paced and exciting or different guilds are laid back and calm. Some guilds have a lot of structure and rules, other guilds have no structure and no rules. Some guilds are big, some are small. Some people choose to pay real money and build faster, while others choose to play for years and spend little if any real money. And going through the ages is fun and educating. Young people playing FoE are not realizing they are getting a bit of general history education in their game playing. Have greatly enjoyed and been playing for 5 years and look forward to the next 5 years.
Good game!

I like the game cause you feel the ages of time and it is kinda relaxing and soothing #Forge Of Empires
Buggy updates
by DuyNgn on 2019/11/10 01:20
Please stop pushing out updates to the app when it’s clearly not tested for stability. As others have said, the switch to other worlds button kept failing to load. Also, who’s bright idea is it to relocate the 3 settings checkbox to the very top of the settings screen? Is it deliberate that you want people to toggle off the diamond use warning? It must be so because the toggle diamond use warning is where most players right thumb would hit to switch worlds...which doesn’t always load. The game hangs MUCH more frequently with the new update. I have to force quit the app a few times each time I check up on my cities. Hangs when I build settlement stuff. Hangs when I negotiate anything. Feels like I’m using a dev build where resetting the app by force quitting is expected. This is ridiculous.
Completely wiped my empire
by XseanthesheepX on 2019/11/09 18:41
Idk what happened but I put a lot of time in this app building my empire, making friends, and participating in events I took a break and when I logged back into the game all my accounts are wiped I have no clue what happened but do not play this game I just lost 3 months of progress and I doubt the devs will do anything to solve this problem waste of my time..
Update issue
by Rplukasz on 2019/11/09 17:30
With the recent update, the settings won’t always allow you to switch between worlds. Sometimes it’s available as an option while other times it’s not. You have to log out and log into the other world.

Plunder - New Players Driven out - money scam
by Mescal Madame on 2019/11/07 13:40
DO NOT BECOME A NEW PLAYER. Any new players get plundered and are driven out of the game. You spend any amount of money on this game, be prepared to lose it and get driven out and literally attacked by players that have been on the game for longer than you.

Strategy To Everything
by BlackSand the Sly on 2019/11/06 21:29
I like the fact the game has many options to explore and several parts working together to make a well-rounded experience. There is a strategy to every little thing in the game, just waiting to be discovered and learned.
Best build civilization game

All of the graphics are amazing and it’s addicting and fun.
Too many bullies
by Nukansun on 2019/11/06 12:41
While I enjoyed the development of the cities and the events and daily challenges, I dislike a game where monied bullies are allowed to prey upon my cities, taking my resources or armies of bought mercenaries who delight in destroying all I have. Nice basic construct but lousy implementation.

Best Game For Mobile
by Dsilsjdjflsshshd on 2019/11/05 17:47
This game has been coded to excite you if you love strategy games, team building games, or even if you like gambling games! Take a chance, and play this game, and see how invigorating it is when you find yourself having a little success! You will find yourself collecting all you need to build a functioning civilization, and it will directly encourage your confidence in the fact you are maintaining your contributions to your guild. I have not once had any issues with any glitches, and the support team has responded to any misunderstandings I’ve had immediately! 5/5 stars for me on the quality, and the intelligence of this game; Anybody who’s given less than 5 stars, I believe, it is because they have failed in their own execution in the game (No offense). This game holds the record for how long I’ve kept a gaming app! Anthony from Seattle!
About to delete this game
by MahoMayo on 2019/11/05 14:28
The return for the costs of this game is ridiculous. Even the Halloween event is ridiculous, you only get 5 candies for completing a quest but you end up spending a obscene amount of your resources (which take days to produce a decent amount) to complete the quest. I understand the developers need to make money but I posit if they provide better rewards for return of effort, they will get more in-app purchases. Suggestions: 1. Either give alot more diamonds per purchase or reduce the cost of diamond only purchase buildings, troop expansions, etc. 2. Reduce the amount of time to produce supplies and resources or increase the amount produced in a time period. 3. Increase rewards for completing event quests significantly. Do these things and I bet you can quit spending as much money on advertising on other sites and keep more players creating a steady income stream.
Great Game
by kirksamuels on 2019/11/05 13:08
I’ve always liked this style of game. The biggest issue I’ve had, though, is the nature of the ‘supply’ collecting. In many of these games you have to constantly check the app to gather your supplies that generate. I usually just check FOE a few times a day and do everything I need to get done. It’s pretty low maintenance but high level fun :) I’ve been playing for months now and can’t get enough. Really enjoy this game.
Best Social Game

Too many player attacks!
by Aloha / Ewa Beach on 2019/11/05 07:25
You get attacked over and over by other players who steal your resources. Too much of this today in the real world. Has no place in a fantasy game. Get rid of it.

Sweet game but has a downside
by GameKnight1996 on 2019/11/04 03:48
I’ve been playing this game for a while and it’s an awesome game and they’re constantly adding new awesome features! However one feature they NEED to add is the option to make it so that your city cannot be attacked. I’m in the late Middle Ages with Late Middle Ages defenders but my city is losing battle after battle as if there aren’t defenders whilst I somehow can’t even win against anyone I try to get revenge against. The option to switch on/off PVP would also be very useful for those like myself who are unable to be online 24/7 to instantly collect their production items when they are finished. Please guys PLEASE look into adding some feature to switch on/off PvP for each respective player
Five stars five stars FIVE stars
by Corey eldridge on 2019/11/04 01:13
This game is absolutely amazing. Just a couple things. It would be awesome if you could have the war look like A WAR. And if you could be an actual person and be able to go inside the buildings then that would be really cool. Otherwise It’s really good you should try it! I’m sorry I didn’t have enough to type because I’m to busy playing this awesome game.
Awesome game

Game keeps crashing
by Greco xxx on 2019/11/02 17:21
I love this game but lately this game keeps crashing, and with lags on the time. This is becoming so annoying, I am getting tired of it. Fix it soon, or you will loose a lot of players.

What an uninspired slog!
by SamSBD on 2019/10/30 16:39
This is the most boring “game” I’ve ever played. Every few years, I see an ad for it, vaguely remember it as a strategy game (which is a very generous description), see the score, and try it again. And, every time, I am hugely disappointed. It is boring, it has no tactics or strategy. What is wrong with the review system in the App Store? The spread seems to be between 4.5 and 5, not 0 and 5.
Improvements

Been playing this game for a couple years now and I play it daily, worth a go if you’re looking for a city building game that spans human history and more, best advice I can give is get into an active guild that wants to help it small members and you will love this game
I love this game, but...

5 stars with one fix
by Lew19is91 on 2019/10/25 20:20
Love this game however to edit the layout is harder than it should be let us store all and place down one at a time instead trying to fit one new home well moving everything out of the way
Gems are BS
by Frustratedjewishgirl on 2019/10/24 18:08
I liked this game at first, but you get to a point where you can solve a “negotiation” and it costs you 50 gems and if it’s wrong they expect you to pay 45 again just to try which makes the quests impossible to solve without buying gems and spending a ton- or be unable to move forward with some of the quest story lines. Disappointing. Was fun until then.
Good game
by mijuyh on 2019/10/24 09:16
Overall I think this is a very good game. The only downside is I think the diamonds are too expensive. I spent $50 on a starter pack and didn’t make much progress before I ran out. If they were cheaper I would buy more and would play more. I can’t see myself spending any more, there isn’t enough value for the money.
Huge Disappointment/Poorly Designed
by Jaymaxm on 2019/10/23 18:13
If you believe in playing a game that is fun, fair and enjoyable, skip this game! I started playing this game 18 months ago, only to discover some major design flaws. This game requires you to obtain blueprints towards gaining a Great Building, which provides you with different benefits. You are required to obtain 9 blueprints to build a Great Building. Often, you will get to a point where you are down to 8 of those blueprints and then start gaining multiples of the same one, where at that point you can choose to trade those multiples towards a “random chance” to obtain the one you are missing...Only problem is, the “random blueprint selector” feature rarely gives you the actual blueprint you need to finish the set of 9 required. So you end up spending days, weeks, even months of effort in saving up Forge Points to put down towards more blueprints, only to be held back over and over again by the “random blueprint trade” selection process! This “random” process really really takes a huge effort to get by, and just really makes it frustrating to say the least. Eventually you realize it’s no longer any fun to play a game that relies upon a “random selection” process. Progress is obstructed over and over...then the fun is gone...all that’s left is frustration because it inevitably just begins to feel like an entirely futile process altogether....is that really fun? Make a better choice, I wished now I had! What a waste of time!!!!
Lousy game

Unplayable
by haruka9898 on 2019/10/21 20:26
The tutorial is literally game breaking. After swapping between wifi and data, closing and reopening the app, and deleting and redownloading, I can't get past the tutorial. It completely freezes after placing the hut and won't let me tap on anything and the build button is greyed out.
Keep sticking it to your players!
by JToseff on 2019/10/20 23:57
I cannot believe you are once again sticking it to your players. First, you raise the price on the land from 400 to 600. Second, you say a bunch of BS and apologized for moving the cost of diamonds by 33% or something close. Thread, you once again raise the cost of land by 200 diamonds. What a bunch of money hungry d**#s. It’s so crazy how money hungry you guys have become in the last few months. I don’t want to hear some BS reason you did this to us. I so hope no one spends one dime on this game. You need us more than we need you! Try remembering that!!

by 6ix-9ine-bob on 2019/10/20 01:10
I’ve been playing for about a year and this is by far one of the greatest games and the consistent updates are always making it better. I normally don’t like to spend money on mobile games but this is one of the few times I’ve made the exception and I definitely do not regret it. Awesome game and I definitely recommend it.
Fun Game, but a Slow Game
by Saleen David on 2019/10/19 21:26
It’s an enjoyable game. However, I don’t like that it’s a very slow progress game, and I HATE that I can’t buy land until I unlock special expansions or spend tons of diamonds. Otherwise the city gets really crammed really fast. Please make it easier to buy land with coins instead of needing to waist to get a reward expansion.
Great game but
by joshuaschoener on 2019/10/19 04:08
They erased my account because I took a break from the game. Now way in hell Im starting over again. Just a waste. Spent so much time in this game for them to just throw my work away. I can sign in but it makes me start fresh again. So I email them about the issue, they say if you are away from the game for 30days they erase everything you have. People don't even try to start on this game. Bringing my stars down since this was their excuse. Horrible business erasing people accounts in such a short time frame.

At some of the higher levels it can feel a bit slow. Overall there is a good flow especially if you can get a good balance between gold and production as well as between combat and trading/negotiation.

Tried to log in but was told to update version. App Store doesn’t give me the option to update, so I can no longer log in. I’m sure it’s because I need to update my iOS on my older 6+,but it’s frustrating that I need to update when the iOS I’m using isnot that old.
A Good Guild Makes Huge Difference
by GonePostal11 on 2019/10/14 13:20
Many reviews have noted that as you progress it becomes more difficult to advance without spending money (real not game coins). I have 3 different ‘towns’ in different worlds. I’m fairly new to the game and have made a lot bad decisions, and advancement has become slow. But I’m in a guild in one world that has a leader who responds quickly to all questions and offers tips and guidance, and is active in assisting guild members to solve problems and advance. Guild members help each other building GB and trading inventory within guild. There is lots of communication between guild members. The other two guilds rarely communicate and that makes the game much more difficult. Spend more time in an age, build a good foundation, and find a good guild. The game requires strategizing and planning which makes it challenging and keeps me involved. It is not a game to play intermittently (like Candy Crush). I get frustrated with plunderers and superior military, but I’ gonna keep trying👍
Lost data

Away 2 hours, lots of buildings missing, lots of people missing. Am at same spot in game but without the acquired assets. It would take a week to get back to where I was. Monotony, kills... the need to replay days of strategy over again without assets. Nah, not me!
Great game, fun for all, and yes really free
by gdjsijshs on 2019/10/13 20:07
I’ve been playing now for about 9 months; I started when my boyfriend recommended it, to get some free diamonds. I’m hooked. I have not found any need to buy diamonds, I collect quite a few from GE and Wishing wells as well as quests and my Crow’s Nest (best event building ever!). I never have issues completing event quests, without spending any money, and have maxed out all event buildings with ease. I would recommend for anyone. Tips for new players: don’t rush through your tech tree and climb eras too quickly, take your time to collect bps for great buildings and really level them up. Also look at the rewards of the great buildings, not all are necessary, and you don’t want to invest in a building that in a couple of eras is useless (oracle of Delphi I’m looking at you). Neighborhoods change frequently, occasionally I have people that attack my city daily, but with regular pick ups they can’t steal too much from me. Most weeks are quiet on that front. At first I stayed away from pvp and gvg however they are now some of my favorite aspects of the game. Rearranging my city is like a puzzle to put together and I enjoy the process of reworking my city to free up some space. A good guild is so important, and they all have different approaches. I started in a guild that didn’t do gvg, but as I became interested in that aspect I found a guild that would be supporting that approach. Don’t be afraid to look for a guild that backs your play style. In short, this is a game that is easy to start but can become as challenging as you want it to be.
Bug problems

I enjoy playing this game on my leisure time. Minus the inactive players and the bugs this game is great. I’ve made multiple reports in regards to reporting bugs and yet they are still visible. I’d like to refer gamers and will do so when the bugs are permanently fix..
What a game!
by gamer grognard on 2019/10/13 00:02
Excellent game mechanics that allow for a variety of strategies to follow. It is very possible to play this game for free, just at a slower pace. The designers are constantly tweaking the game and adding new player friendly features. The best part of this game is the freedom from becoming a farm for the wallet warriors, aka the whales. I have tried dozens of games but this one keeps me the most engaged over time. When I read the 1 and 2 star reviews I get the sense that those players are looking for a very different game geared towards rapid development and little need for careful resource development and usage. Proceeding slowly and taking the advice of the advanced players in a guild can provide a very rewarding game experience. A number of bad reviews cite problems with plundering. There are a few strategies that you can use to avoid being plundered. The simplest techniques are to collect resources regularly and construct buildings that can’t be plundered. Once you gather a resource, you can’t lose it! I don’t keep a defensive army and don’t waste precious space on defensive buildings. I rarely get plundered and usually only lose an inconsequential amount of one resource. I’ve been in too many games where you can protect only a small fraction of what you collect and lose every other resource you farm, mine, or discover. As I mentioned above, by exploring membership in a variety of guilds you can find a number of players who generously support your efforts with trades and useful game info.

Playable without money BUT
by Jackbv123 on 2019/10/10 17:13
Yes you can play and advance without spending real money, but the criticisms are still partly valid. At first it’s not that big a problem, but as you advance, the pace crawls with lots of mundane tasks required to keep things going. You could play by checking in for a few minutes several times a day, but you can’t really play for long periods unless you are content to grind through accumulating resources like supplies. Trouble is that if you don’t do the grinding they don’t accumulate that fast because you have to intentionally act to collect everything or it just sits uncollected. As for the fun stuff like conquering, being able to do that requires inordinate time grinding through the collecting. Costs and space requirements grow quickly. Also, I have problems hitting the right icon. I’m constantly doing that and having to close the popup and try again. Seems like the alert icons are slightly off.

Too Expensive to Play
by 123teri on 2019/10/07 00:50
They make it nearly impossible to play this game without buying diamonds (game currency.) I played for about 6 months and spent waaaay too much money for a past time! Also, the developers say diamonds only buy you time and you can play the entire game without diamonds. That’s true, however, the game takes too long to play without diamonds and it’s terribly boring. Playing mostly involves waiting and waiting and waiting. For instance, if you’re lucky, you can win a Rogues Hideout. A rogue is a type of soldier you can use to do battle. It takes all of 5 minutes to lose your rogue in battle and it takes 24 hours to build another one. And that’s relatively fast in comparison to most of the other things you end up having to wait for! Plus, if you come up against an army you can’t defeat, you can usually negotiate your way forward. The trouble is, you only get 3 free guesses to figure out what you need to pay for the negotiation. If you’re not successful after the third guess, you either have to pay diamonds to continue guessing or you must give up and forfeit all the goods you’ve already used trying to negotiate. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! They have some very creative ways of making you spend your money! I can’t recommend this game at all unless you have a lot of disposable income that you can use to help keep this game interesting. And I’m talking a LOT of disposable income because everything in this game is expensive! It’s really easy to drop $49.00 on this game and lose it in less than a day! Beware! This game is a money pit!
Must spend real money
by trey 24 on 2019/10/07 00:14
It’s a fun game to play but you reach a point in the game where you battle but must upgrade your troops so it’s either spent real money or wait until you have enough forge points to upgrade your troops
FOE Challenging
by Norman the Wiser on 2019/10/06 22:40
Forge of Empires is a challenging game that takes a lot of thought and requires you to strategize to move ahead . Being able to turn buildings and move them to fit your grid is something on my wish list. The game however has become a favorite of mine because of its challenging features. It’s not a game for the easily frustrated. Try it you’ll like it!
Great new updates!
by Thewurdninja on 2018/03/08 00:46
I love what they have done with the recent update. The z’s for buildings not in the process of production are now stationary making them much easier to see. I am a huge fan of the daily quests. Side quests and event quests have been greatly improved, causing me to play more frequently. Overall, I love this game. I have been playing for a few years now and have seen some ups and downs. I am looking forward to the new ages to come. The only thing I would like to see improved is will you PLEASE fix the fact that the app now asks me to sign in through Facebook every single time, even if I was just using it. It redirects me through the Facebook app and I have to click continue, okay, I accept, go, blah blah blah every time just to get to my city. It’s kind of annoying and makes it hard for me to quickly pick up productions or something while I’m not really actively playing at the moment. I find myself checking in less and less because of this added time for log in. Otherwise, great app. I would recommend it, just don’t ever click the log in through Facebook button or you are doomed to navigate through the outside app every time you log in.
Great game - one suggestion, PLEASE
by DeKraut on 2018/08/25 03:23
I love your game. Been playing for over a year. Have spent more on this than any other app I have ever downloaded. One suggestion. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, add and ability to store buildings without the “store buildings” tool. I respect the genius that is the need to redesign your city to accommodate newer era buildings, but trying to do that when the expansions are so expensive to come by is SO FRUSTRATING. Having the ability to look straight down on the city during “move” mode would be so much easier, but I expect that would be a major update, so I can live without it. However, it could be done with low graphics mode and just labels for buildings so you could look straight down and see which buildings are where and where empty spaces are. Sometimes those empty spaces are so tough to see behind other taller buildings. MOST IMPORTANT, could you please let us store an unlimited number of buildings so that rearranging the city would be easier. I get that you want there to be a challenge to rearrange, but making it so that you don’t have room to shuffle things around is so frustrating, and almost enough to make me quit the game. I am up to the progressive era, and trying to work in the double lane roads is killer and making me want to quit. It would be so much less cumbersome if you could store a bunch of buildings and have a ton of extra space, then “tetris” your way back to a full city. Please. I am begging you.
In-Game Expansion Costs Real Money
by jayg44706 on 2019/07/25 10:01
I like games that allow me to construct kingdoms and civilizations, so I thought this game would be fun. It started out pretty fun, and my empire advanced in technology relatively quickly. However, you get to a point relatively soon (the Bronze Age, I believe) where the only way to expand buildable space is to purchase diamonds (with real money) which you then use buy land to expand on. There are very limited expansions you can use the in-game currency to purchase, even though building in-game currency happens quickly. And victory and research progress provides very little land expansion. Which brings me to a second issue that ties into the land expansion problem. In order to progress through time, you have to conduct research. This involves a combination of spending points that automatically accrue, production, and in-game coin. One concept to developing new research requires a number of different productions (e.g. dye and masonry). The problem is you don’t have enough land to construct these buildings to produce the goods you need to advance the research. And you also need available population, which can only be expanded by building more residences on land that you don’t have. See where I’m going with this? The game is ok at best, unless you have real money you want to sink into it. As a passive Smartphone gamer, it is very rare that I spend any real money on a game. And when I do it is only $0.99. I plan to delete the game.

Another greedy game
by Ftooley77 on 2018/07/07 20:28
At first I thought it was going to be a decent game, started off with good game mechanics, then as I leveled up it didn’t take me long to discover that the have designed the game to require the heavy use of real money via in app purchases, to be able to continue playing. They limit your growth without money paid, the limit your leveling without money spent, and they limit your quest ability without spending money. At first I even fell pray and thought of if I spend a little money, then I could get over the money hump and continue on with my game. But then I quickly found out that every little aspect required in app purchases, that at no level, no quest and no point can you continue in the game with out constant money purchases. There one early on research that specifically calls for in game currency purchases with real money, just to advance to another age. I know apps that are free have some in app purchases to speed things up, that help pay for development, but this game goes beyond having them for convenience, to making the purchase a mandatory requirement to continue playing. They have an event history list, that allows higher level players to have a permanent way to attack you daily and ruin the gameplay! Update: in response to developer: highly unlikely as there are many things in the tree for diamonds, and I have yet to see any diamonds for fee in the game!
Don’t Play This Game
by madsgrace on 2019/02/24 16:45
Just don’t bother getting into it. I don’t want to stop playing because I enjoy getting through all the Ages and I’ve gotten really far....... but it’s an endless frustration. It’s so pay-to-win it’s painful. I can’t afford diamonds, so if they’re needed, I wait until I win them. The community does not respect this play style at all. I was kicked out of a guild (that claimed to be “just for fun, no requirements”) because I didn’t finish more than one level of GE every week. If you invest time and forge points into a Great Building, people sitting on thousands of FPs will swoop in and steal the top spots after you’ve chipped away at it for weeks. While these are player related problems, the bottom line is - other players who spend real world cash WILL take issue with or advantage of players who don’t. I’m far in the game and have a lot of expendable resources, but it’s not possible to advance in the community without diamonds. I’ll continue to play just because I like seeing the Ages progress over time. This is just the nature of the game, so this isn’t really me saying “change the game,” but don’t get into this game (if you want to advance in the rankings) unless you’re willing to drop some serious real world cash. Otherwise, you won’t compete with the many players who do, and it just isn’t a fun experience. So save yourself the trouble and find a different game to play.
Limited experience for app players
by a123pa on 2019/05/07 18:54
I am playing this for at least two years now. The developers lack the will to bring the same experience to both browser and app players. If you are playing on app, you miss big parts of the game ( To be fair, app version is still good on its own). Some of them are easy fixes which the only explanation i have is they don’t care like displaying timer for great buildings’ collection time which is available to browser players. Also, the most fun part of the game, Guild vs Guild fighting is not available to app players. They keep introducing new features to keep you occupied 24 hours of the day and you can choose to play them or not. Anyway, if you want to only play on app, know that you are missing a big part of the game( In my opinion the fun part). If you can play on both app and browser, it is fun! Plus side: it is really free to play. If you understand the game correctly, you don’t need to spend real money to become competitive. If you don’t understand the game, you waste your money buying stuff that does not matter in long term! This is a long term game so you need to be patient, find the right strategy for your game style and stick to it! Make sure to check the forums for useful tips.
Disappointed
by Diane Villela on 2018/12/09 16:02
This seemed like a cool game going threw the different ages I reached the Iron Age and realized creators are way too money hungry everything at some point costs diamonds I needed land to place things it costs 200 diamonds each for the first two which I felt was a little too much but I gave it the benefit of he doubt! I have to admit I spend money on this game but it didn’t last long at all. When I reached Iron Age I got two more slots available using diamonds and only one as free. I thought okay the first two were 200 diamonds each I’ll just purchase 400 diamonds and I’ll get these two nope I was wrong they charged 400 diamonds for one expansion. I’m going back to my other games because I wasted money time and patients on this game and I truely regret it. I have spent money in a games but if the Iron Age is 400 diamonds for one slot next Age is 800 diamonds and so on and so forth. You can’t really get a head without spending real money. I down right hate creators that purposely abuse their creation that could be cool but isn’t because they prefer making money but exploiting people just so people get a head in a game! I feel for it once but not anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would! I’m a person who doesn’t mind a few dollars here or there but I refuse to waste anymore time money or patients on creators and game who take advantage of people to this extreme.
Forge of Empires
by janete24 on 2018/02/21 18:07
Game is boring. It’s basically a point/click/waiting game. And you do a lot of waiting to the point where you ask yourself “Am I even playing a game?” There’s no daily freebie for logging in to play. Scenery, landscapes, color in the game are dull. They do have what they call “incidents”, which are but randomly throughout the game, but you have to look everywhere, and look hard because they blend in too much with the rest of the scenery. What gets me most is you can’t expand your territory, and when you can’t expand you can’t put up buildings, and when you can’t put up buildings you can’t build, almost like you’re stuck in a corner. Then there are the challenges. You can’t fulfill them because you don’t have the buildings to build, and the reason you don’t have the buildings to build is because you don’t have the ability to expand your territory. These challenges should only be at the level you’re at, or with the resources you currently have to fulfill them. So again you’re in a corner and you can’t do anything. And the production buildings. Come on! I can only make one product at a time and it takes way too long. If the programmers are reading this “How do you earn diamonds and medals to expand your territory?”
Frustrating more than fun
by venuscrash24 on 2018/10/08 11:11
I really thought this would be a fun game. At first it is, but quickly turns to frustration. You never have enough room for things you need, and buildings don’t turn to better arrange. Their excuse for that is that it makes it more of a puzzle and that they would have to do too much work to make them turn. Everything starts to take so much to upgrade that you get stuck waiting for resources way too early on, and people do not offer fair trades at all. I finally drew the line at a requirement of many diamonds (200 I think), which you would have to buy, to do the next building upgrade. Some things that would make it better are actually upgrading buildings instead of selling and rebuilding every time, and an adjustment of how much is needed versus how much is offered in the game. This isn’t a game you can continuously play, you have to put it down-seems counter intuitive to me if you are trying to make a hit game... Also, last note, the fighting is fun but it take 2 hours to ‘recruit’ new fighters, and can only do one at a time for each type, so takes a day to build enough troops! One fight a day is no fun! I hope they put more work in and recalibrate, the idea is fun, just too frustrating.
I don’t know about this game...
by unknown.................!! on 2019/04/16 18:22
I’m not trying to judge I just started playing this game but I think it’s expensive and it’s kind of boring to me and what can you even do you might say yea it’s just a noob but seriously after the tutorial what can you do produce stuff and that’s it I was lost but I have been reading the other reviews and haven’t even Contributed ever but I believe in the reviews and it says you need fixed the game and then we can everything expensive because it is why would you need an expansion for 200 diamonds also I don’t like how I need to Tutorial. They waste your diamonds for you I think you should have a choice because if you’re going to make everything so expensive with diamonds why should you spend 100 for ya And as this and as he said diamonds are very important so you just want people to pay for more some some people don’t want to waste money on a game so I think you should waste the money for them not money not even many diamonds but the damage in the game I like money but as I was saying I don’t know about the game because well it’s expensive it’s kind of boring and what can you do just Produce things I don’t mean maybe you should give it more than just one little tweak
Just another “free” game
by Blackhawk1019 on 2018/08/30 06:18
Like all the other 1 star reviews I have encountered all the same problems with this game. It does start off really good, but as you progress the game get almost impossible to do anything because you are moved to new neighborhoods with players at levels much higher the yours. If you don’t spend money to buy diamonds your progression will be unbearably long. I get attacked over 6 times a day by players at higher levels and they steal you production items. I asked the developer about how I keep getting attacked by higher level players and got a generic response of how I should collect my items right when they are done with production. Somehow player know to attack within 5 minutes of production being completed. Fair warning that this game is far from free even though the developer says it is possible with out spending money. Getting attacked constantly is frustrating enough to make you want to purchase the upgrade. Note to developer no need to write a response because I know how to contact you and your answer is already noted above. I know I can purchase city shields to stop the attacks. Now let’s see what kind of generic response the developer can come up with as to how they can solve all the above problems.
Broken endgame
by houseofpwncakes on 2019/05/02 13:53
Promising game with great music, graphics, and design. Frequent events with fun rewards that are manageable if you're a free-to-play player. The devs have clearly worked very hard on their product. Unfortunately, once you reach the contemporary era the game is completely unplayable for free players. PvP is forced on and there's no shield for getting raided; I have screenshots of 10 raids in a single day on my base (and each raid allows a player to loot your production buildings, preventing you from looting them yourself). Pay players will frequently attack you with armies that are 200% boosted by premium bases, using one troop 3-4 ages ahead of yours and 7 rogues (poorly balanced unit that automatically copies another unit in your army when it's attacked). Basically, there's no defense for free players against getting raided back to back with armies that are ages ahead of theirs and three times as boosted until all of their buildings are unusable. This happened basically every day for a month or two until I had to stop playing. Looking forward to a potential fix in the future because the game was otherwise designed with a lot of love.
Justifying increasing prices
by Increase Territory on 2019/07/07 23:37
Update: I just saw an advertising video which was misleading bc no secret many have given feedback to INNO wanting rotating buildings and they always come back with excuses but it's what customers want and to see latest advertising add with rotating buildings just to entice new players is false advertising. Makes me laugh when INNO tries to justify increasing their prices by saying they understand changes are never popular then stop taking our money and fix the problems instead of constantly putting out updates that cause more glitches. How about fixing all the problems the game has including increasing prices. Customers would spend more if INNO would listen like why do we have limited storage and only given if we win something so someone is screwed if they do not compete in G.E. or some event that is close to impossible of winning at unless we want to spend diamonds which cost real money for something that should be free to begin with; free storage. Many other building games can rotate buildings and with all the money you are getting from us, it should not be a problem. Same thing with upgrading anything; you can only upgrade if you have a reno/ one up kit which again you have to win lol.
Free to download, not free to play
by Mr. Coral on 2019/05/16 06:22
I have played this game a month or so and I always wait a bit to write a review. I was forced to write this review because this game ai has decided I needed to write something great about this game or give feedback. So to be transparent, this is what I submitted in my ticket to support.// This game is not free to play, maybe free to download but definitely not free to play. This game has many trips and falls all designed to get you to purchase diamonds in order to advance (let’s be realistic, its pay to play). This is not a strategy game, this is a build game of which I now feel hostage to do bi-daily maintenance on in order to not be plundered by much bigger opponents. Also, I cannot even do or complete daily events without being forced to use diamonds. I also cannot battle without using diamonds to replenish troops loses, unless I prefer to wait a tremendous amount of time to so-called play for free. I honestly believe this game is boring! I have played many mobile games through the years and this is the worst game I have played. I don’t see mayself playing this game much longer. Also, do I really need to have 10 plus accounts just to play 1 solid account and be able to advance in this game? I don’t think I do.
HORRIBLE SUPPORT
by grideraaron on 2018/02/27 15:41
The game is a ton of fun while you can play it. I got banned because they claimed my kids were feeding me and avoiding the rest of the game. I have 5 kids who can verify different; we made in game trades for goods, blueprints, and forge points that were fair and according to the rules. They donated about 5k forge points and i gave them about 1k forge points back along with over 10k goods for a bunch of different ages. The rules are not based on actual facts, but rather the opinion of any given moderator at any given time. This is unfortunate, but ohh well. I would have given 1 star because of support, but the game is really fun. Update: well as expected there was no change even after they wasted my time. They should have just dropped it with my post. My kids wanted to keep playing but they wont unban them as they stated they are “only in iron age and it wont take them long to get back.” 3 of them had arcs and a few terrace farms. I don’t think the support people know how to play their own game. It took my kids 3-6months to get all the bps and it took me another month to donate fps to get the goods for them. The support is laughable at best. Lowering my stars to 1 for the way they treated my kids and will have my 2 older leave a review.
Frustrating on mobile
by Bhjsbbah on 2017/10/24 16:15
I like games of patience. This one is promising but when I started, my story quests were hindered by an internal error and by the time support fixed it, I was way ahead of the story quests and would have to do them after I already did them, which wastes time and resources. My name and profile seems to be that of an old man. I asked them to change it because I couldn't (it's the first quest) due to the internal error. It wasn't fixed. **update** I'm not stuck on the first quest. I'm stuck on the other quests because by the time the first quest was fixed, I was way ahead and have to basically redo everything I've already done. Like... Build 3 Stilt Houses. Why would I build 3 stilt houses when my population lives in tile roof houses and chalets? I lack the space and my population can't go down as they are all being used for production. Waste of time and resources. Makes it frustrating. I am, however, stuck in progressing in research because of a bug. I've researched and unlocked militia, but the game is saying I need to research it to progress. It also didn't give me the soldier barracks that came with completing the block. That's a serious bug or glitch. I did contact support. We'll see if they are any help.
Worth the effort and it takes some effort

This game seems rather boring at first and is often hard to understand what is expected. Some information is available on the forums but to a newbie that can all be Greek! Once available find a good supportive guild! That is the most important thing. They should help you with your forge points, great buildings and answer questions. There is much more to this game than meets the eye so be patient! I also enjoy being able to have 2 or later 3 worlds and towns. Also visit other players towns often and see what they are doing. This will give you insight and you can ask your guild members questions about what you see. Great game but I will say that in order to progress you will need to purchase diamonds occasionally. I figure it is pretty cheap entertainment. Use the diamonds for play and don’t spend them unless you really consider the importance of your purchase. Then they are a good investment. Have fun!
Fun to play
by Davidk8203 on 2019/06/30 04:56
I have played for months now. I have a sweet city and pvp all the time. I haven't spent a dime on the game and I have over 4k diamonds to spend if needed. People are whiners. This game is a lot of fun whether you want to build your city, fight others or chat. They have regular special events to get special buildings for questing. I only installed it to get a freebie on another game. That game was deleted months ago and I still play this. Joining a guild is easy and super beneficial. Try it. You will get hooked. P.S. People who think you must buy diamonds to play are not giving the game a chance and should probably find a different game. Maybe one with no challenge or strategy. People who spend diamonds will still get beat up by higher players because they are newbs. Slow down and develop your city and you won’t get attacked successfully as often. Ignore the trolls saying you have to pay to play. Try it for a week and find out for yourself.
7 Year Veteran - originally a 5 and now a 2
by 7 Year Player on 2019/02/25 09:42
I have been playing for 7 years and considering discontinuing due to the increasing expense needed to play the game. The #1 trick they use to consume yourDiamonds is the cost to auto click and eliminate 100 plus moves. No big deal to not spend 5 diamonds sale on and click your self but by the time your in the Arctic phase you have to click 100s of time. even if you do pay it still makes you click 100 times because the auto clicks is too simple and does ask a few basic questions that would allow them to do more of the work for you. There seems to be also fewer player than in the past so there is less available trades. Another reason to finally call It a day. I think they have gotten 100s of dollars over 7 years most in the past year. I don’t mind spending some money but I would have expected logical improvements to like I described above in return for my funds. As one of your most loyal clients I am guessing I will not get a response or taken seriously but I am likely a conduit for many other original players who are thinking of bailing.
Ok game until
by Rich121070 on 2018/11/17 11:51
The game is somewhat fun until you get to a certain age and are attacked and looted incessantly by man children who won’t level because they’re so large they can attacked anyone and plunder them without fear of retailing. The game caters to this. There is no requirement to level up so these people sit there and make themselves rich and you miserable on a daily basis and the developers love this. It’s like you high school football team having to play multiple NFL teams everyday. And their wonderful response to this will be “you can get a shield” which means you have to spend over a week collecting “visits” to your tavern from 80 or more friends on a daily basis for the pleasure of being left alone for a few days. Or pick up your loot on time which turns you into an anxiety ridden mess setting alarms and stopping whatever the thing you’re doing in real life because they allow some over grown a holes with no lives of their own to constantly feed off you instead of enforcing them to level and take on people at their own level. This is a constant theme of all their games and I’m extremely tired of them.
Not getting any help from support.
by ghecrheccw on 2019/06/20 22:08
I messaged support for some help because there’s a glitch with the mass supply rushes not working for all of my supply buildings. They used to work just fine but now they only work on one out of my 4 buildings that only produce supplies. It’s very frustrating when your in an event and the things that are supposed to help you with the event don’t and then it’s worse when the people you send a message to refuse to even admit there’s an issue. They instead choose to talk to you like your stupid or lying. I don’t understand what the issue is myself there is a glitch, saying thank you for making us aware of the issue, we will work on fixing it sorry for any inconvenience or unnecessary frustration it has caused. Thank you for your patience while we fix the problem so you can keep enjoying the game. I don’t think saying something like that is to much to ask of anybody. And in my opinion is far more professional then avoiding the glitch and acting like I’m lying about it or that I don’t know what I’m talking about. What could I possibly gain from lying about a glitch and if I wasn’t 100% sure about something I would ask a question not complain.
Time = $
by UnicornStud33 on 2017/10/05 22:17
This is a great game. Easy to understand, develop strategy, solo or guild play, you can make your way through the ages with ease. The basic components of farming and combat mixed with resources is par for the course. The interesting add to this game is the notable persons we all know through our ages, like Gandhi, Marilyn Monroe, DaVinci, etc... There are quests to complete to attain an avitar and rewards along the way. I'd say good for social, educational, strategic minds. The fundamentals are there for competitive drive as well. I'm down to blaze and play this game in tandem with others that I am fond of. You can spend money to develop your community faster, but it's not required. Kudos to the development team. You have a great gem here. The music is cool sometimes...but does have some much needed room to improve. Also, I feel more opportunities to win diamonds/rare buildings would inspire me to invest more time on the game....talking: giveaways. Bravo!
Free to play?
by Brian281993 on 2019/08/31 16:23
While sure the game is technically free to play it’s almost very very slow if you play that way to the point were it’s not even fun. I get the game is a marathon but I also understand what the developers are trying to do what is make the game so slow and boring so that users use real cash to make the game fun. Sadly all mobile games and even more and more console and pc games are going this is way what is sad. Personally I don’t mind paying money to play a game considering all my games on my pc cost money and I even refer the old ways instead of this “freemium model” of continuous payments that get you barely anywhere but the fact that micro transactions in this game don’t get you much is ridiculous. I’ve seen buildings in the game cost as much as $40 when you convert everything especially with the new bidding system. You could easy send $200 on the game and it would barely get you anywhere. The amount of greed is too greet. If you can justify why a pixelated building is worth $40 when I can purchase an entire computer game on steam and be done and just play the game without micro transactions to make it remotely fun then I’m heading back to pc.
What is going on with the game?
by Ms. RomanceReader on 2019/03/20 18:29
It seems like ever since there was an update this last time, the game doesn’t want to load, and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection since I can play my other games with NO issues, only this one is giving me trouble now. I have shops trying to produce but I can get to hem before I’m raided and lose what I’m trying to produce...for over an hour I’ve been waiting for the game to load...all I see are animated leaves falling on the screen, but NO game, so I finally had to give up...is someone going to fix this and how can I get my goods back?! It’s been a couple of days now since I first wrote this post, and I’m back because I’m still having issues...I’m trying to do one of them challenges to earn military people from my current timeframe...snipers, etc., but I can’t even get back into my game. I can access my other games, it not this one, and I’ve rebooted twice and still nothing....is someone working on this issue??
PAYWALL ALERT
by TopKupo on 2018/05/26 20:08
I finally decided to be patient with this game seeing as how it actually takes time and lots of patience to build your own little empire. Don’t get me wrong, it’s really fun and surprisingly social. Other players are helpful and there are some okay benefits from helping others; the biggest being willful reciprocation from other players. However, after almost two months, I have advanced my empire to the Early Middle Ages where I have noticed a huge paywall at the BEGINNING of the research tree. I have never seen such a blatant paywall after spending so much time on a mobile game where most of my playtime was fair and free. I don’t plan on buying diamonds (premium currency), so I’d either have to farm them through expeditions or occurrences, which barely give you more than 10 diamonds each and rarely drop them, or quit playing to avoid wasting more time on a paywall that’s gonna hold me back from advancing a substantial part of the game. If you were gonna hit players with a paywall, do it sooner. This review was supposed to be four stars, but that paywall frustrated me entirely.
Needs more diversity
by Jayline87 on 2018/02/16 13:23
I just went to change my profile pic in the game and noticed that out of 170 characters there are only 9 black ones- 3 male, 6 female. You need to add more options for players with black skin other than black knight, black man with a turban and football player. I can imagine how black people feel when they go to pick a profile pic and its just an endless sea of white characters. Aside from that I love playing this game. Unlike other games of its kind, there’s so much to do that you never really get to a point where you’re done growing and it becomes repetitive. I also really love the social aspect of it to. You can have your own city, but you can help out others and others can help you so that you benefit and joining a group or guild is great because you’re helping each other out further and working as a team while you build your own city. There are always quests and challenges so you’re never going to get bored.
Great but frustrating!
by moesosweet on 2017/11/01 05:44
I played this a while back and was absolutely obsessed with it. It’s an incredibly addicting game. My account got deleted because I was inactive for a couple months. So I had to redownload the app and start a new file. Frustrating, but I took on the challenge to dive right in with the knowledge I gained from my first experience. Now, I’m working hard to get back to my previous progress. However, I’m extremely frustrated with the fact that it takes hours to gain goods and produce supplies, and I continue to get my hard work stolen by plunderers. It wasn’t like this before. I literally get my hard earned goods stolen constantly (every day, 3-5 times) by randoms. It’s like I’m playing for nothing?? I can’t get ahead. People continuously basically bully me and as hard as I try to rebuttal, I can get nowhere. If there’s any advice on this subject, I would appreciate it. Other than this, the game is so great. I just wish there was some better tips or advice on how to defend myself against this.
Amazing game!!
by Güblermeister on 2017/09/26 12:59
All of these people on here complaining about it being slow or too hard. Why don't you go find a game you can fly through and stop trying to get them to ruin a great game. I've been playing it for months. It's challenging, has a lot of things to spend your time on, not to mention it's a blast to strategize what to do and what not to do with your city or what to spend your forge points on. I personally love that there are things like the great buildings that are next to impossible to get. It makes it hard and I like it that way. Oh and about it being expensive or having to spend diamonds. I call BS I haven't spent diamonds since the ones you get at the beginning of the game and I am all the way to the colonial age and working towards my 3rd great building. Please don't listen to the idiots that want the game nerfed. It's the reason amazing games like WOW have been ruined.
Split the time!
by Restoring Data... on 2018/04/17 03:07
This is basically a point/click/waiting game. It does teach you patience, I think. But it is annoying you need to wait for a while. 8 hours is a long time just to produce coins. You can collect it only two times in just one day. That's not a lot. Two Days is just a frustration.😴. Some or Most people like me don't have that kind of time. I mean seriously. One day is still not a good option. 4 hours for one single good!?!? (Not including bonuses) Really?!? I mind just exploded. 🤯. For bonuses that will be worth it though. Although I think 30= 1 day. 20= 10-12. (Can't tell). The rest are fine for bonuses. Anyway. Training troops also take kinda forever. Just one troop! Wow... You should split the time in half for like all of the wait times in the game. (Building not included, I'm fine with the building) Aid takes forever. I'm impatient when it comes to aid. Like seriously. 24hrs?!?! Not really worth he wait. 8 hrs is a pretty good one for Aid. I agree on some of the wait times like the Town Hall. 24hr is good to me but I'm not not for other people. Forge of Empires wait time should be split in half or lower, which basically with all the current wait time you will feel like your not even playing the game. Other than that, FOE is a good game. Just split the wait time into two or lower. Thank you for reading my review on his game!
Pretty neat game.
by Gore88 on 2018/08/12 06:01
I’ve only been playing for about 24 hours or so. I’ll update after a week or so of playing but so far. I’m enjoying this game. Don’t look at it as a pay to win bc honestly, what mobile games aren’t? Just sit back and relax, and enjoy the ride. It’s normal when it comes to the building but still different than Clash of Clans or other base simulator games. I like that you can actually strategize battles and it’s even on a honeycomb battlefield! I personally enjoy honeycomb battlefields and happy to see this game has it. Think Fire Emblem. And if you haven’t played Fire Emblem, you’re missing out. Especially if you don’t at least give this game a try. I’m looking forward to progressing through the ages regardless of the time it may take and even considering becoming a volunteer for them. With that said, hope you give this game a try with an open mind and patience.
Interesting Game...But Enjoyable
by Prof IP on 2018/01/26 22:28
I enjoy the game to advance critical think in balances finances and sacrifices, and just get away for the drudgeries of the working day to manufacturer a virtual world! There are a few areas that might be enhancements. 1) Incentives to visit my Tavern (Happy Hour) 2) The ability to advance technology faster in any given age, such as genius or mad scientist to help advance your game during the particular era 3) More variety in avatars that advance as you advance in your game 4) The price of certain tools, such as Forge Points, increase much to fast for the era in which you are working. 5) A more interactive function allowing one to barter goods and services. Not seeing the benefit of polishing, while being paid by those that are polishing. 6) Would like more control of Empire Defenses...cannot discern what level of defenses are in place, especially after you fortify you city that would PVP to continuously breach. Frustrating in not understand how that can be prevented even though there is very little discernible damage, aside for looting. 7) Would like a countdown clock on the delivery of goods from your Great Building. 8) Tavern Occupancy Meter tends to stall or become stuck 9) Medals continue to be a mystery in terms of count needed for expansion 10) Would prefer to pay for in-Apps purchases using gift cards or via a separate Games Store, when possible! Otherwise, still a fan of the Game!
Facebook Problem
by tekarakatz123 on 2019/08/28 13:41
You need to remove the ability to link to Facebook or make it so if players who do it that it truly does create a real account. Jumping threw hoops to fix a game when I am a new player only for months to end up with a glitched game even you can’t fix was not a fun experience. I ended up giving up after five months even though I loved the game because you kept finding a new problem each time and you were never even able to register my account when you tried several times. Each time I was asked the same questions and I answered the same. No support could fix my account but many tried. Removed game since it is broken. Why play a broken account even the developer can’t fix. Update to your response: It is not worth contacting support again they said it can’t be fixed and stoped responding a few days ago. If I knew in the beginning of April of 2019 what I know now I could have just just made a new game and not wasted my money on the broken one when I first joined. Customer support is horrible and all I want to do is help fix this amazing game I fell in love with.
Good but the wait though makes the game boring
by mr.l 64000 on 2019/07/17 05:51
Well it’s what you expect from a free app game. The game is just a point and wait game seriously it takes so long just to build a house even in the Bronze Age. Don’t get me started on the happiness gimmick I mean you already waste enough money and supplies on houses, supply buildings, and good buildings and how about just waste it on culture buildings and decorations. I mean I get but like I said before you already waste your money on houses and supply buildings. What I hate the most is forge points I mean why is the maximum limit 10 I mean I looked in different ages and it takes hundreds of forge points. Yeah you can buy them but whenever you buy a forge point but it gets more expensive when you buy them. Why does it take an hour just to one, there just should have been no forge points. In conclusion Forge of Empires is a good game but there cultural buildings should have been to increase supply buildings more and it should have applied to good buildings too.
Great Idea, Sometimes Poor Performance
by anameyoulltake on 2018/05/23 13:09
The concepts in this game are great except two things: 1) The game is advertised as a strategy game but it’s really a game of chance. Many games have a store where one can trade in coins, gems, whatever but in this game there’s nothing equivalent and you usually win a chance to win something rather than the something. 2) The game is extremely slow, glitchy, laggy during high use times. The game sits and sits or boots you out or screens don’t update and show that you’re actually being attacked which is very frustrating when you’re sitting there watching and trying to defend. You have to constantly refresh or flip between screens during these times in order to get them to update. This happens a lot at daily recalc, a critical play time. If the game were more strategy and less chance and it worked right at times the games makes critical, it would be a great game.
Fun ongoing game!
by DramaQT on 2017/10/05 16:39
I love this game a lot. I have been playing on and off for over a year now. I like that you can still accomplish goals and meet game play expectations without spending money (it just might take a long time). If you are impatient this game is probably not for you. Once you get to the higher levels most tasks take hours or even days. For the most part players are kind and friendly to interact with (you now are required to friend other players in order to keep up your tavern and acquire boosts) but sometimes players get a little too involved. I play this game casually, so it always strikes me as funny when someone unfriends me because I haven't contributed enough to their city. I typically log in twice a day for 10-15 min. 5 days a week, so it seems outrageous to me. There are a variety of ways to play and plenty to do. They have lots of events with new items so it never gets boring to me.
Completely free
by reaver chaos on 2018/11/06 22:48
I have played the game for over 2 years and I have never spent even a single penny. I don’t know why there is so much whiney feedback, except to say that these people obviously were too lazy to learn a complex game structure. Play is significantly enhanced by joining an active, experienced guild, and by building Great Buildings (GBs). GBs provide a wealth of different resources, as well as boosts to various rewards provided in the game. They also provide for relics that drop a variety of rewards in the Guild Expedition area of the game. These rewards often include diamonds in various denominations up to 50 at a time. It’s obvious that the whiners have not advanced far enough to take advantage of this resource. Keep at the game. Join a good guild. This game is complex enough to hold your interest and is social enough to keep you coming back. Don’t stay in a quiet, dead end guild.
Love the game but...
by Asulzzz on 2018/07/10 20:38
I got this Game three weeks ago and I loved it! I got to build my empire, Journey trough time, and go into war with other provinces. Today when I got to the Iron Age I was really excited 😆. I was going to unlock roof tile houses but then I noticed something, When I had enough materials the game crashed. Not only that but when I got back into the game I had nothing. No coins, No materials, No nothing. So when I started over collecting money and materials for the house, Then when I harvested cabbage from the fruit farm, it wasn’t adding to my bar. It stayed at 0. It also happens when the buildings give off their rent. The money isn’t adding to my bar either. I Would like you let you guys now to fix those bugs. Besides that the game is awesome!! I will keep this game because maybe There will be a change. Also for myself (and my opinion) I think I’ve gotten really far. Thanks! Like the game a lot 😎
Thoughts
by By Miguel7656! on 2018/12/02 05:00
I have been pondering thoughts that may improve the game. I hope you it may help. I was thinking on how to improve the GE quality. I've been reading and the forum says our goal for Expeditions is to protect our territory in our land and expand our territory. Well why don't you guys do that. Every time a guild gets 1st place you should award them with land but they can only get 1st like 15 times (Don't want to make it to easy to get land), 2nd place winners gets goods from other guilds who lost below 5th place, 3rd place winners will receive an army legionnaire from their period, 4th place winners get supplies and 5th place winners get a nice pat on the back by getting gold. I know the places are only up to three but I think there should really be five. There are other ideas but I think this is a major one to discuss and if u can, may u make it so players maay have a 90 degree turning ratio for their buildings. Thanx 😋
No stars for this app
by Cruisin2paradise on 2017/10/04 18:02
The game is fun, although slow to make progress. The fatal flaw is an absence of customer support. The company's server crashed and deleted my account. Customer Support responded one time to my ticket request, but then would not reply further or correct their problem, causing me to send them this final email: "Your support is awful. I have been trying to contact you for five days to follow up on our prior email, but you will not even give me the courtesy of a reply. You have not even responded with the status of my service ticket. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. You force me, therefore, to delete your product, no longer do any business with your company and post a negative review of your game. You caused me to waste my time and some money. Your business model will fail with this lack of customer service." ——————— See “Developer Response” at bottom of this and my reply immediately below: “I have not closed my request. In fact, I have written approximately five or six emails to innoGames Support regarding this ticket and referencing the ticket number each time, and NONE of those were responded to by innoGames’ Support team. No, neither you or innoGames have given me a reason to update my review. Nothing has changed.” ____________________ After several exchanges of notes and over a week, the problem was resolved to my ultimate satisfaction. Thank you to InnoGames.
I like it alright ... UNTIL
by Chrh85 on 2018/09/25 19:11
I have been playing and rather enjoying the game for several months now, and have admittedly spent way more money than I had ever intended. Suddenly bout 2-3 weeks ago I started having problems making in app purchases. When I go to buy an army pack, it goes through I tunes ok, but I don’t get my army. The first time I had to go through customer support and prove I made the purchase through iTunes before they would give me my army. It was a real hassle and took several days to sort out. It did it to me again this week. Paid the $ and still no army. So now, I am getting plundered every time I turn around and am unable to complete quests because it requires me to win battles and so on. Every time I try to restore purchases, the game locks up. Now I can’t even get into the customer support section to get it resolved again because it too locks up. Giving real thought to deleting the game and quit playing. It’s a hard decision to make, as I have so much time and $ invested.
Good, but room for improvement
by Zfoss33 on 2018/01/28 18:38
Games fun, and keeps you interested for a while, but of course spending money is the easiest way to get anything done. Would be better if the marketplace wasn’t so difficult to maneuver around or getting a fair trade for goods was easier. You always have to give 10 of one good to get 1 of another, or you have to spend forge points for an even trade. Also coins and supplies become meaningless after a while because you collect then way quicker than you can spend them. There’s just not enough to spend them on, or you haven’t expanded enough to build anything new because you can only buy a few expansions with coins. Overall, if you’re going for a free simulation city building game, I had a lot more fun for a longer amount of time with SimCity. Even though you might still have to spend a couple dollars, it’s a lot more fun and interactive. FOE is good but could be a lot better.
Ok game
by TP W on 2017/10/12 15:02
It’s an ok game that could be great. First the good. I like the concept. The resources and UI are easy to understand. I like that the last update added in what units are strong against what. I would like to see that added into the army setup section somewhere as well. Now the bad. I play on my phone and it makes it hard to tell what units are what on the battlefield. You can’t rotate the map of your city which hides roads and some buildings. The opponents difficulty seems to increase in jumps not a steady incline. There are some points in the game when you find your technology just can’t keep up with even the computer generated opponents. They seem to get all the units for the next age all at once instead of starting with one or none like you do. Then, by the time you catch up to them, you’re onto the next age and the whole cycle starts over. Overall I like the game but It’s become more frustrating than fun.
Needs work
by BearLawrence on 2018/08/22 16:13
The concept of the game is amazing. The story quests, the events, even having a tavern to manage for boosters. However, the mechanics need fixed. A) for the love of sanity please allow the buildings to rotate! I could fit so much more in the limited amount of space if you would just allow people to rotate the buildings. B) the population management is a nightmare. I don’t like the amount of population that get taken up for some of these buildings. I can see where it adds to the reality of workers being taken up by a job, but since when did a blacksmith need 12 people or a marble works need 108 people? If you’re going for realistic then set realistic numbers. A blacksmith would need no more than 6 and a marble works maybe 25-30. C) in a game that requires constant selling of lower tier buildings to make way for newer, I would expect more of the supplies to come back, but I guess you wouldn’t get as many micro sales if you did that. D) I am starting to notice a paywall creeping up. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. Any game that advertises “Play for free!” has a catch. But this isn’t just a catch, it’s almost an impossible wall that can either be passed by paying or a month of gameplay. I like the game, but the above mentioned make it not so fun and downright aggravating. I’ll keep it loaded on my phone for a little while longer to see if any of these get fixed but chances are I’ll delete it by the end of the week.
“Oh just buy a city shield”
by Malibuxmegan on 2019/06/11 12:41
I like that you don’t have to spend money to progress, just patience. Also you aren’t bombarded with ads. The thing that is making me quit is the constant attacking and plundering by other players who have been playing far longer than me and just camp in an era. I have 1.5 million points, #10 in my neighborhood, and I’m attacked daily by people with over 22 million in the same neighborhood with attacking units from 2-3 era higher. The developers’ copy paste response to that is to blow all your tavern silver on a shield. For a new player who hasn’t been able to amass that much it’s impossible. While I have enough saved up it’s not a possible long term solution since I’d run out in a pretty short time. Likewise for collecting all at once. You shouldn’t have to set timers just to be able to progress in a stupid game! Developers have made it clear they have no desire to fix this sort of imbalance so until then I’m off to find a better game.

Glitches

Gems are BS
by Frustratedjewishgirl on 2019/10/24 18:08
I liked this game at first, but you get to a point where you can solve a “negotiation” and it costs you 50 gems and if it’s wrong they expect you to pay 45 again just to try which makes the quests impossible to solve without buying gems and spending a ton- or be unable to move forward with some of the quest story lines.
Unplayable
by haruka9898 on 2019/10/21 20:26
The tutorial is literally game breaking.

They erased my account because I took a break from the game. Now way in hell Im starting over again. Just a waste. Spent so much time in this game for them to just throw my work away. I can sign in but it makes me start fresh again. So I email them about the issue, they say if you are away from the game for 30days they erase everything you have. People don't even try to start on this game. Bringing my stars down since this was their excuse. Horrible business erasing people accounts in such a short time frame.

I love this game so much but you guys almost make it so we have to buy diamonds which I don’t want to do. I wish you could have the tool places produce more tools sense we have to build a lot of buildings super fast to get stone, marble, trees etc. other than this it’s super awesome.

Lost data
by jturnj on 2019/10/14 06:03
Away 2 hours, lots of buildings missing, lots of people missing.

Worth the effort and it takes some effort
by Orofinogal on 2019/06/12 15:03
This game seems rather boring at first and is often hard to understand what is expected.
Time = $
by UnicornStud33 on 2017/10/05 22:17
This is a great game.
Thanx 😋

UNTIL
