I usually book directly when I can. But sometimes direct is to expensive. Trip.com offers great promo codes, that can easily shrink the cost of a hotel or flight.

Can not believe that with all the travel industries facets that in this dawning tech era world we live in there isn’t a single third party company whom has the ability to maintain and uphold the highest values of ethical business, provide exceptionally superior customer service, while also maintaining sovereignty as a bargain travel site with truly the most inexpensive discounted rates and full total disclosure of their expectations as well as the property’s. Love this site and have literally deleted and closed accounts with all of the rest.

I submitted 10 times to book my trips, however, the trip was canceled because the financial system went down. Though my credit card and debit cars are working fine. I called customer support 4 times and they promised to call and email me back, however, they never did. Im so frustrated and don’t trust this brand and app.

I plan one of my trips with this company and it was the worse thing I could do. First, they changed my flight so I had to pay more to get one that could fit the days I needed (their costumer support was terrible!). Then, I had to cancel my flight because of the COVID and I’m waiting for my refund since April 5th. I, again, talked with one of the customers service and they just give me excuses and saying to have patient. I’m really disappointed! I just want my money back, because it was great to buy with them, really easy! Until you have a problem, then you just have zero support.

I couldn’t get a flight due to corona virus. I called prior the flight date and requested the cancellation and refund of my flight. They canceled and refused to refund me the money of a flight I couldn’t take just because the ticket was non refundable! It’s unacceptable to steal money from consumers ! Enough is enough ***** UPDATE : they answered saying the cancellation policy is airlines policy ! I had your logo on the invoice !!!!!!!! Where do you back me up when I purchase with you ???? You’re only the middle man ????

TLDR: disorganized service wasted a lot of time and $$ with hotel scam. Recently booked a hotel, like I have many times before with trip.com. When I arrived the hotel was under construction, bike lock on the door. There were no signs and 0 indication that the hotel was in operation. Take my booking and money but hotel is being renovated... looking like a scam. Called the front desk several times with the number provided on my booking and nobody answered. Had to book another hotel while I was standing on the street with my luggage. No worries, Trip.com has good customer service... think again. Hotel refused to give a refund because they apparently had a different unmarked entrance in an alley behind the building. The first trip.com rep helped me call and ask to speak with a manager, though the number they used was did than that provided on my booking. Representative said trip.com could offer 100$ rebate on the 300$ booking but that we would wait to hear back from the hotel manager. Sencond rep calls me back informing me the hotel is declining to refund me and that there is no note from the first rep about the 100$ rebate. Result: lots of wasted time and $$ Don’t bother guys go with a reliable company that cares about protecting it’s customers from unscrupulous hotels.

Avoid at all costs. If you need a refund because you get sick in a pandemic, and want to be a responsible citizen and not travel while sick, they will have you jump through hoops to get doctors notes for a full medical refund, that they then deny, not because you weren’t sick, but because they have idiotic policies and idiotic staff who don’t know how to operate within their own system. Trip.com screwed me out of $1000, because I was a socially responsible citizen. They deserve to go out of business. Evil bloodsuckers. Never ever use trip.com.

I will never use this company again for flights, never again. Their services aren’t good, you practically need to fight with them to get back your money, and they lie about refund. But when they need to take your money and provisions, they are very fast. Buy the tickets directly from the flight company’s and save yourself of bad experience.

So I’ve tried everything, everything I can think of and now I’m so tired. I’ve called them a million times, nobody ever answers. I get to the end and then just get hung up on because “so many callers” I’ve tried their customer support thing on the app which is just animated, it’s not a real person so does nothing to actually help. And I emailed! I was getting the furthest with email, but only got half my flight cancelled? I have now emailed them about that 7 times over the past week and a half about how I need the full flight cancelled and if they would work on my full refund. I keep getting responses back that it’s already cancelled! they are already working on my refund! Well I can go onto the app and it tells me it’s half cancelled and that I only have half my refund in progress so somebody’s lying to me, and I’m going to say it’s the animated computer idiot that’s replying to my emails. I will never use trip.com again. During this time what they are doing to people is horrible. I feel so miserable and exhausted, and just that there’s no hope in resolving this. I’m just going to lose my money and there’s nothing I can do about it. Trip.com couldn’t care less about their customers, this whole thing has really gotten to me and I have no idea what to do anymore besides tell everyone what they’ve put me through.

I made a booking online because they had the best price. It wouldn’t let me cancel online and forced me to download the app to cancel my flight. Why on earth was that necessary? I’m just going to delete the app anyways. Customer service is very difficult to reach as well.

Their policy states that they will assist you during this covid-19 pandemic but that is a big lie. Called them like 5 times nothing was done, and on my last call, they told me to contact united airlines and Brussels airlines for my voucher because they could not do anything for. I was the one who was supposed to get everything done at that stage. Meanwhile Brussels and United airline clearly state that if a flight was booked through a travel agency, passengers should contact the travel agency which will In turn contact them for any adjustments. This is definitely the first and last time I am using Them and I do not advice anyone to use them at all.

While their policies state they will assist or refund or at least help in SOME possible way regarding flights and the COVID-19 virus, I’ve found this was not the case at all. I was trying to get home and ended up stranded at an airport in LA after a transit country changed their policies on allowing foreigners through, and so was unable to complete my flight. I called Trip and was helpfully told they would get me on the next flight they could. Hours later, I’m still sitting in LAX without a phone call. I had to book a hotel and eventually another flight, still hearing nothing from them. I was stranded in LA for three days while they couldn’t be bothered to send even a single automated or otherwise update that they were working on a solution. I called numerous times, and each time the support I received was progressively worse until I received emails that they closed the ticket because it had been too long! They didn’t take any action but closed the ticket because they couldn’t come to a solution??? PLEASE. If I could, I would leave 0 stars for this company. DO NOT USE THEM FOR TRAVEL. I recommend any other booking agency or the airlines directly. Don’t get screwed over like I did.

I’m normally not writing reviews but it is a must to come express my self here for other customers or passengers. I’ve been treated so badly with this people that works here. Both of my flights got canceled and I called tons of time just to put me on hold for the next 10 mins or so.. frustrating if you’re a traveling that is on a tight budget because the moment the table shakes you’re in big trouble to either rebook new tickets or get stalk in airport terminals.. the customer service is really not doing well too, the calls we place consumes lots of money yet still they keep you waiting for a very long time that I had to hang up the call! I understand the flight fares are quite reasonable but Incase you something pops.. get ready to spend money on new tickets or what have you. So far.. please improve the customer care service and handle us properly. We are spending a lot of money on tickets and doesn’t wanna spend more on calling you again!🙄

Somehow this company doesn’t handle finances very well. My account has been frozen for services I did not use. I made booking through someone trying to start a travel business and fully paid for my trips. At some point the “financier” decided to defraud the company and chargeback some 50k+RMB. Since they can’t or won’t take those people to court, they’ve decided to freeze my and a few other people’s account until WE PAY THEM! Also, the iOS app stopped working from about January.

It does not even meet my lowest expectations for a travel booking website. This is an unprecedented time with the covid pandemic and I can’t believe they are unwilling to reimburse customers for flights they cannot take during international lockdowns. I am not looking forward to my trip to Paris, because the whole country is shut down, but for some reason Trip.com refuses to reimburse travellers for their plane tickets. I purchased my flight to Paris several months ago, before the covid outbreak and did not purchase extra flight insurance and as a result Trip.com is refusing to reimburse me for my flight, despite this unprecedented health crisis. I spoke over the phone with customer service this past Sunday and was informed I would receive a detailed account of the conversation Trip.com had with the airline and a response on my flight reimbursement. I have not received any email, it has been three business days, but saw on the Trip.com app that my request to cancel my flight has been cancelled. I am appalled at how Trip.com is handling the covid crisis right now and will be taking my travel business elsewhere in the future. I am telling all of my friends and family of my terrible experience with Trip.com during the covid pandemic and urge anyone reading this to seriously consider booking with another website or book directly though the airline. If I were to compare you to a famous character, it would be Dwight Schrute, because you are holding steadfast to company policy despite unprecedented circumstances. You are thinking rigidly with your mind and not showing compassion to your customers. Many other travel websites are minimally providing travellers with a travel credit to use at a later date after the pandemic recedes. You are punishing low-income customers who are trying to save money by booking flights early and then telling them they can be reimbursed only up to 10% of their total cost because they unwittingly purchased plane tickets before the start of a world-wide medical crisis.

I’m a long time customer who will now be using any other booking site but this one. They are refusing to refund my corona virus cancelled flight just because they can. After a month of trying to resolve the situation my only recourse here in China is suing them. Save yourself the headache by using any other booking service but Trip.com

I have had a hotel booking and a flight that I paid for through this app. They canceled my booking without my consent and then refused to refund my purchase price, asked for sensitive identification materials through unsecured email correspondence and made excuses for not refunding the reservations they failed to deliver. It’s a fraudulent company and you would be much safer booking directly with the airlines or hotels.

Used it to book a hotel. When we arrived they hadn’t book it. Took 30 extra minutes before it was figured out. So I tried them for a car rental giving them a second chance. They charged the credit card but never sent a confirmation. So we called to just cancel and the customer service hassled us about canceling. Waste of time. Nothing but trouble and headaches.

I think the app runs well and is simple and really easy to use, especially if you travel in Asia a lot. They have a cancel button for flights on the app but you still have to call in and hope someone is available, so I’m not sure what the point of having that button is. In fact, most things end up getting directed to the customer service phone line. Last time I tried cancelling a ticket I couldn’t get anyone to answer me and when someone finally answered they were pretty rude. Only reason I use it is because they take my Chinese bank card smoothly. A shame considering a year ago the customer service seemed pretty great.

My heavy heart and very upset with trip. com , the refund was unclear , the cancellation safeguard refund in Covid -19 virus epidemic was not according to their policy. In short they dont refund your cancellation. They dont come back to you and make it clear if the airline refund them or not. In short customer service is very poor. On this matter , this online needs to be reported to the tourism to shut it down. Until now they never refund. Took 1200$ on me.Stay away ... dont buy on them.

This is a bad service. I had to cancel hotel reservations due to the Coronavirus and was not able to travel. I called them and applied for refund but they DID NOT GIVE MY MONEY BACK. DO NOT use their service, they will take your money and is not accommodating. I will not be using their service in the future.

This company and app deserves zero stars, their customer service will do everything it can to delay and rob you. I had a flight cancelled, so naturally I applied for a refund. The refund never came after over a month of asking them everyday just for the STATUS of the refund, I got nowhere. Now they’re telling me I’m outside of the limitation to apply for a refund, but they’ll “look into alternatives”. Unbelievably bad, the worst experience I have ever had with a travel company. Stay away from this company at all costs.

I love this app. As someone who lives in China this app has proved its worth many times over the years. Sadly though it seems that as soon as a crisis comes they aren’t prepared. I was suppose to take a trip but because of the Coronavirus outbreak I was unable to. I canceled my hotels and one round trip flight without issue yet when it came to the international round trip I was told to call customer support. I chatted from the app and the guy said he would start the process and it would be done in 24 hours. It’s been 21 days and I was JUST told the cancellation process was stopped because they don’t cover it anymore. Without my flight cancellation I can’t proceed to cancel my other activities has had already paid for on my holiday. Each time I’ve chatted or called I’ve been told it’s being processed NEVER that it wasn’t going to happen. Poor customer service in a time of need. Poor communication since each time I was told I would get an email and I NEVER do. Will go back to using other apps that aren’t as easy to navigate but have decent service

I dealt with trip.com through email for over a month trying to get a flight changed. The only responses I ever got were “thank you for your patience”, but nothing done. After a month I tried to have the flight canceled, since it was not being changed. It was just more run-around through emails. After two phone calls and being told it would be resolved in 24 hours, there was no communication from them for three days. When I called back again, I was hung up on by three different customer service reps. I was never rude or disrespectful, just asked to speak to a supervisor. At that point, I was put on hold and hung up on. I would be very leery of using this company if you ever anticipating needing to make changes to tickets.

I booked a non-refundable hotel in Macau , December 2019. When checking into the hotel 2 months later in late January 2020 (Chinese New Year), the hotel tells me that they could not locate the trip.com reservation in a rude manner. More sadly, there is a SARS similar virus going on in the area, and there is an urgent order (law) stating hotel booked in the area of China mainland / MACAU / HONG Kong can be cancelled with full refund. I called trip.com three times spending around one hour on the phone; the first CSR is as impatient as the hotel; the second CSR hang up on me; the third CSR finally cancelled the booking and sent the cancellation confirmation to the wrong address.

Overall the absolute worst website I have ever used in my life. The complete lack of empathy is both disgusting and sickening. I will strongly recommend that anyone uses ANY other site. I am revolted. The website automatically put in a date for my stay which was three days BEFORE the date I was actually trying to stay. I didn’t notice the date was wrong until I got my confirmation email and saw the dates. I called customer support about 30 minutes after making the reservation and they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. They ended up taking $100 out of my account. I was extremely upset and disgusted. Customer support was no help and this site is NOT to be trusted. I would highly recommend anyone to never use this site. If I could give this app a negative rating, I would. I am disgusted and beyond upset.

Update: now they have put a map button RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN. Clueless reps. Clueless developers. I only use this app to get train numbers and book somewhere else now I made a mistake with my booking and asked the trip.com agent to help me communicate with the airline they refuse to help. Next time I will use any service besides trip.com. Nothing new about the app except annoying notifications to let you know when you’ve chosen filters. App gets worse and worse!

I have spent tons of money on Trip and always give ratings on my purchases. Recently we purchased a tour that was a very expensive epic fail. I gave it a 1 star rating and Trip did not allow it to be posted. Just be warned about the ratings on the app. Did you notice they are all high? There’s a reason for that!!

This app is great. Definitely one of the best travel apps ever. However, there is another possibility to be better than now, it is to add a function for invitations to share schedules. I reserved flights and hotels for My husband and I, but I couldn’t share the schedule with him. I just wanna let him check as I can find through this app such as another app from Trip advisor. Please consider this seriously !!

Shady company doing travel business. Be careful giving them your credit card information. They make money by selling low quality flights and hotels to customers by making them sounds and looks good. And once they get your money, good luck trying to get it back.

This app is easier then the Ctrip Chinese version if you are not from mainland of China . you can use your credit card and passport as default. You can book the train ticket as usual but the ticket will not issued to you right away online I think this is the railroad policy.

I really like using the trip.com app. It’s user friendly and the customer service call center is very helpful. Helps keep your trips organized if you are planning more than one at a time. I love that it allows me to pay using China yuan by card or wechat. It’s perfect for what I need. I never write reviews but I really liked this app and wanted to share. This is a real review not fluff. Lol.
Worst booking experience

This is the worst booking company ever. I booked my flight from LED to SFO with a two hour stop in Paris, as a single flight. They send me the reservation, the tickets and none of that stated that I would need a French visa. Given the short stop, it seems plausible. On the day of departure I learn at the check in counter that I am not admitted to the flight, because I have no visa. Okay, I decided to return the ticket. The ticket from Paris to Los Angeles is with Norwegian, and has a "Flex" category. This means that in the case of no-show it will be refunded, and can also be cancelled beforehand. Norwegian says since Trip.com bought the ticket for me, I cannot cancel it, only Trip.com can. I called Trip.com, and they refused to cancel and refund the ticket. Are they going to just get my refund and pass none of the money over to me?

Quick disclosure: I know the highest level mgmt at CTrip. But! But, I was a loyal customer well before I met them, and they don’t give me any special attention or anything like that . They are friends of my current work place, and that’s it. I’ve been using CTrip since 2011 and long before I moved to China or even knew that it was a Chinese company. Early on I used them exclusively for hotels in Asia. They were usually much cheaper than hotels.com, and I had repeated success— zero issues — with my reservations with CTrip. When I moved to China in winter 2015 I started using them for all travel needs from trains to planes to hotels to vacation packages — literally everything related to travel. As a recommendation for those who are new to CTrip (Trip.com exact same company) consider booking local hotels in prime locations, especially for bookings in China. Local hotels are almost always a much better value for the money than western chain hotels. Local hotels are often in the best locations with better service and better breakfasts and significantly cheaper than their western counterparts. Plus you are supporting locals more directly and significantly rather than Swiss hotel executives. Also with trip.com (again same as CTrip.com) don’t assume that booking early is best. 20 minutes ago I booked a hotel in Wuxi for tonight and am paying 30% less than what I paid the last time when I reserved 2or 3 days ahead of time. (Of course if you need 100%certainty at a certain hotel then book ahead, of course, but again if you can be flexible with exact hotel and there are no major conferences that weekend than why not try one of those local hotels across the street?) The only downside to CTrip is that their rewards program is weak compared to the big hotel chains and even worse than hotels.com (though I think they have watered down their loyalty programs as well... don’t know don’t use them very often anymore). It takes many, many bookings before you get that freebie. Moving back to the positives, the customer service is the best in the travel industry. On the few occasions that I’ve needed to contact customer service I have never had to wait in the phone— not once— and they will resolve issue respectfully and in timely manner, including stupid mistakes that you made (though don’t expect them to pay for your mistakes) . Again super loyal and happy customer who uses trip.com for all Asia travel and also , because they are expanding quickly into western and Southern markets, I’m about to drop all other allegiances to cheapticjets.com, hotels.com etc

This app is VERY useful. I’m not much of a planner so to be able to book a plane ticket the night before and a hotel at the airport AND have all the information I need (ticket information, hotel check in info, even arrival and departure card info for international flights) located in one app has only added in my inability to plan ahead...which I love. My only note would be to have tabs on the top of each hotel selection... so instead of scrolling down each time a hotel is selected; users can quickly access reviews, hotel amenities etc.

Stay away. Faulty app made an error in my booking and after 2 hours getting bounced between departments with people that don’t speak english. I get a whole bunch of “nothing we can do” lossed $100 I got lucky. Upon googling more info many people lossed alot more than me.

I booked a ticket a while ago and the ticket was not going to be emitted for a very long time. My trip plans have changed and I decided to cancel the ticket. However, I couldn’t see any cancellation policies on flights on the website, so I had no idea of finding out whether my ticket could be cancelled or if I would get a refund. I then tried calling the customer service that was supposed to be 24/7. I was on the line for 30min with the automated voice saying “sorry, all of our representatives are busy right now”. Seriously, if your representatives are really all busy, who takes 30 minutes to deal with a customer, unless you are talking to your grandma? Then again, if dealing with customer service takes this much time, it also indicates that there is some serious structural problems within Trip.com. Horrible experience. On top of that, one time they changed my flight information to a worse flight that was cheaper and did not refund me for the difference.

This company has been incredibly helpful for my traveling in Asia! This one time I was stuck in this random city in China (by myself!!) because a connecting flight of mine got cancelled after I’d already begun my journey. That’s okay, but the issue was that NO ONE spoke English and my chinese is HORRID. So I called cTrip to ask what was being done about this situation and they assured me they were on it to find out. They had my back the entire 2 days I was stuck in that random town and I finally made it to Thailand! I had to cancel every single one of my previous hotel reservations and cTrip took care of all of it for me. It was actually one of the best trips of my life. So, yes they have a booking fee. But after that fiasco, I know that booking through this company is a solid choice and that they won’t leave me to deal with everything by myself. If you’re traveling Asia, and want some support, cTrip is the way to go!

While their policies state they will assist or refund or at least help in SOME possible way regarding flights and the COVID-19 virus, I’ve found this was not the case at all. I was trying to get home and ended up stranded at an airport in LA after a transit country changed their policies on allowing foreigners through, and so was unable to complete my flight. I called Trip and was helpfully told they would get me on the next flight they could. Hours later, I’m still sitting in LAX without a phone call. I had to book a hotel and eventually another flight, still hearing nothing from them. I was stranded in LA for three days while they couldn’t be bothered to send even a single automated or otherwise update that they were working on a solution. I called numerous times, and each time the support I received was progressively worse until I received emails that they closed the ticket because it had been too long! They didn’t take any action but closed the ticket because they couldn’t come to a solution??? PLEASE. If I could, I would leave 0 stars for this company. DO NOT USE THEM FOR TRAVEL. I recommend any other booking agency or the airlines directly. Don’t get screwed over like I did.

I have always been pleased with trip’s ease of use, especially living in China and not reading Chinese. But recently their customer service really impressed me. I’m traveling to Vietnam over Chinese New Year/Tet and I booked a hotel back in November. The hotel fell under new management, who refused to honor my booking. The trip staff offered a good alternative at a better rate. I didn’t take it because I had some specific amenities I wanted that the new hotel didn’t offer. I found a new hotel and trip sent me a good amount of money as compensation, even though this was not their fault and I had not pre-paid for the room.

This is the worst hotel service I have ever used. Our card was charged by the service provider for our room and the service card that they sent to the hotel declined. The customer service provider could not figure out could not understand what was going on and wanted us to pay for the nights at the hotel and then have the service refund me for my charge, even though I already paid the service. If the provider could not pay for my room after I paid them. How could I expect them to refund me. Not only was this bad but the customer service was awful she hardly spoke English and was very rude to us after I refused to pay the hotel for the room I already paid the provider for. Now I have to dispute the charge to the provider because I ended up paying the hotel for my room. Luckily they gave it to me at the discounted rate. If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m convinced this is a scam. BEWARE!!!!!

Today I experienced the worst experience in dealing with customer services. Tried to contact them through the chat function on line, waited 20 minutes still no response whatsoever. Next I tried the customer service phone number and got hung up on twice and all I was asking for is how to find a receipt for what I had paid for when I booked the room. I used to believe the Chinese folks were respectful and were great folks to deal with at least here in the USA they are, but when you call the support folks in Hong Kong it’s an entirely different story. At least the hotel did confirm my reservation. Now I’ll have to make sure that they were paid. I’d rather pay more from other hotel websites than ever deal with these folks ever again. I wished I could rate them with a negative stars especially when it comes to customer service.

Overall the absolute worst website I have ever used in my life. The complete lack of empathy is both disgusting and sickening. I will strongly recommend that anyone uses ANY other site. I am revolted. The website automatically put in a date for my stay which was three days BEFORE the date I was actually trying to stay. I didn’t notice the date was wrong until I got my confirmation email and saw the dates. I called customer support about 30 minutes after making the reservation and they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. They ended up taking $100 out of my account. I was extremely upset and disgusted. Customer support was no help and this site is NOT to be trusted. I would highly recommend anyone to never use this site. If I could give this app a negative rating, I would. I am disgusted and beyond upset.

This has been the worst customer service I’ve ever received. The app is glitchy and the call center is in China. I had a emergency in my Family and was unable to cancel my booking the calL rep I spoke was rude and unhelpful just repeating the same words back to me over and over even when I asked my next steps and asked for more help he kept repeating himself. I’ve emailed this organization twice and they had the same rep call me on the day I was suppose to leave for my trip asking me for proof and being so inconsiderate it maybe uncomfortable I had to hang up the phone. Please do not book from this site you will have nothing but issues if you need to reach out or confirm with anyone and all Hotels will refer you back to these people who have no desire to help you.

I love this app. As someone who lives in China this app has proved its worth many times over the years. Sadly though it seems that as soon as a crisis comes they aren’t prepared. I was suppose to take a trip but because of the Coronavirus outbreak I was unable to. I canceled my hotels and one round trip flight without issue yet when it came to the international round trip I was told to call customer support. I chatted from the app and the guy said he would start the process and it would be done in 24 hours. It’s been 21 days and I was JUST told the cancellation process was stopped because they don’t cover it anymore. Without my flight cancellation I can’t proceed to cancel my other activities has had already paid for on my holiday. Each time I’ve chatted or called I’ve been told it’s being processed NEVER that it wasn’t going to happen. Poor customer service in a time of need. Poor communication since each time I was told I would get an email and I NEVER do. Will go back to using other apps that aren’t as easy to navigate but have decent service

I think the app runs well and is simple and really easy to use, especially if you travel in Asia a lot. They have a cancel button for flights on the app but you still have to call in and hope someone is available, so I’m not sure what the point of having that button is. In fact, most things end up getting directed to the customer service phone line. Last time I tried cancelling a ticket I couldn’t get anyone to answer me and when someone finally answered they were pretty rude. Only reason I use it is because they take my Chinese bank card smoothly. A shame considering a year ago the customer service seemed pretty great.

CTrip makes booking flights supper easy and straight forward. I live in China and it’s not always easy to communicate or make travel arrangements. However, now that ctrip has a new price alert option it allows me to take advantage of affordable prices that are suitable to my budget and schedule. CTrip is becoming by far the best way to book and arrange trains and flights. Especially if you are an Expat living in Asia.

I’m normally not writing reviews but it is a must to come express my self here for other customers or passengers. I’ve been treated so badly with this people that works here. Both of my flights got canceled and I called tons of time just to put me on hold for the next 10 mins or so.. frustrating if you’re a traveling that is on a tight budget because the moment the table shakes you’re in big trouble to either rebook new tickets or get stalk in airport terminals.. the customer service is really not doing well too, the calls we place consumes lots of money yet still they keep you waiting for a very long time that I had to hang up the call! I understand the flight fares are quite reasonable but Incase you something pops.. get ready to spend money on new tickets or what have you. So far.. please improve the customer care service and handle us properly. We are spending a lot of money on tickets and doesn’t wanna spend more on calling you again!🙄

Their policy states that they will assist you during this covid-19 pandemic but that is a big lie. Called them like 5 times nothing was done, and on my last call, they told me to contact united airlines and Brussels airlines for my voucher because they could not do anything for. I was the one who was supposed to get everything done at that stage. Meanwhile Brussels and United airline clearly state that if a flight was booked through a travel agency, passengers should contact the travel agency which will In turn contact them for any adjustments. This is definitely the first and last time I am using Them and I do not advice anyone to use them at all.

Personally, i would recommend C trip for everyone if we had to rank all the apps it comes in 2nd place right after wechat, and right before Facebook that’s how much I love C Trip.. what I love the most is that anyone from anywhere can have access to it and they don’t need to pass through travel agencies.. how awesome is that.. I wish I could give this app (and company) zero stars. Price increases after you select a flight, prices for both hotels and flights are cheaper on the Chinese version, for foreigners payment options are a nightmare (if you us a foreign credit card and there’s any issue with the booking, their customer support is only trained to say one thing: it’s a problem with your bank, you need to contact your bank), and finally overall their customer service is abysmal; poor English, no ability to resolve your problem (in fact that’s exactly what it is: it’s YOUR problem)

I plan one of my trips with this company and it was the worse thing I could do. First, they changed my flight so I had to pay more to get one that could fit the days I needed (their costumer support was terrible!). Then, I had to cancel my flight because of the COVID and I’m waiting for my refund since April 5th. I, again, talked with one of the customers service and they just give me excuses and saying to have patient. I’m really disappointed! I just want my money back, because it was great to buy with them, really easy! Until you have a problem, then you just have zero support.

CTrip is a very good company with great customer service. Lots of good deals with airfare and hotel bookings. Yet, to make it even better, they should add an option that allows you to book the HK and Macau ferries. Also, it would be nice if customers are allowed to add in their frequent flyer numbers with their airfare purchases whether it is with the operating airline or an affiliated airline within the airline groups such as SkyTeam, Star Alliance, or OneWorld. Thank you.

I booked flights on this website then i had to cancel it. The website doesnt give enough info about the cancellation so i called the customer service they said if the ticket is not issued we can refund if it is issued already you have to pay 50 dollars. Apparently it is 50 per person. What bothers me is that first they issued my ticket to get 50 dollars per person then cancelled my ticket. What an integrity!!! I would not recommend any company trying to make money like this. Definitely will not use their service again.

Somehow this company doesn’t handle finances very well. My account has been frozen for services I did not use. I made booking through someone trying to start a travel business and fully paid for my trips. At some point the “financier” decided to defraud the company and chargeback some 50k+RMB. Since they can’t or won’t take those people to court, they’ve decided to freeze my and a few other people’s account until WE PAY THEM! Also, the iOS app stopped working from about January.

The app is useful for aggregating different Chinese airlines, but when it comes time to make a reservation, I would highly recommend going directly to the airline or hotel website or a truly international travel site (China Eastern or Expedia). Otherwise Ctrip simply adds one more unnecessary layer (in contrast, though I’ve had other issues with Expedia in the past, they have also worked hard to contact the airlines on my behalf to resolve travel issues. You’ll get no such service from Ctrip.

This company and app deserves zero stars, their customer service will do everything it can to delay and rob you. I had a flight cancelled, so naturally I applied for a refund. The refund never came after over a month of asking them everyday just for the STATUS of the refund, I got nowhere. Now they’re telling me I’m outside of the limitation to apply for a refund, but they’ll “look into alternatives”. Unbelievably bad, the worst experience I have ever had with a travel company. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Booking a flight on the app I am only shown different fares, but not booking/fare classes. But it is very important to know if my flight is in M, U, H, Q or V class. That information needs to be shown! What a discrimination not to disclose this. Does Ctrip really want to keep its passengers in the dark? Come on...

You sit down at the coffee shop, get out your tablet and keyboard, excited about planning a trip.... but CTrip appears to display ONLY IN LANDSCAPE mode!!! Guys, a LOT of people use iPads and other tablets. And they use them in LANDSCAPE mode, particularly when typing on a keyboard. Unless Ctrip is going to be a phone-only app, I encourage you to make it usable for people who use it like a laptop! Thanks for listening to your customers!

I have used this app several times for booking hotels, flights and tours. I absolutely love this app. It’s easy to navigate and you can have all your information for a tip in the same place! I highly recommend.

I’ve recently encountered 2 serious issues with the Ctrip systems and the iOS iPad app. 1) some where in the recent past a change to the user data base screwed up my name. Fortunately I spotted the error in my name (western) prior to attempting to go through security with an erroneous boarding pass. After bringing this to Ctrip’s attention they eventually (not without encountering initial resistance from customer support), recognized that their system was at fault and taken financial responsibility for the error. 2) Simply resizing a hotel map loses all the hotels! How did this version of the iPad app get into production with such an obvious error? It appears to this old IT professional that Ctrip fails to take their obligation to deliver system operations and software development seriously enough.

I couldn’t get a flight due to corona virus. I called prior the flight date and requested the cancellation and refund of my flight. They canceled and refused to refund me the money of a flight I couldn’t take just because the ticket was non refundable! It’s unacceptable to steal money from consumers ! Enough is enough ***** UPDATE : they answered saying the cancellation policy is airlines policy ! I had your logo on the invoice !!!!!!!! Where do you back me up when I purchase with you ???? You’re only the middle man ????

This app is easier then the Ctrip Chinese version if you are not from mainland of China . you can use your credit card and passport as default. You can book the train ticket as usual but the ticket will not issued to you right away online I think this is the railroad policy.

I really like this app with all the specials and deals that it pulls up, but man I wish the military time has an option to be changed. I know I should just learn how to tell military time but it would be better if that was an option to change.

Basically nothing works in this app. In the middle of a search it will jump off to a different place. I’m constantly having difficulty with it. It’s like it was made by children! I’m a long-time customer and I’m constantly jumping to somebody else’s company because your app is so lousy. My wife uses Chinese C trip and the prices are 2/3 of what they are on English version. it’s like you’re trying to screw me for the extra cash.

Would not recommend this, I ended up booking two flights for the same day same time under the same name because the first time doing it it said the process failed and when I called the support here they weren’t any help at all and did not resolve my problem and now I’m getting charged for two tickets because they can’t do anything about it “supposedly” if ai could I would give zero stars

Prices are attractive. But it s kind of a hassle to check in online and get boarding pass cause you have to go on airline website. Also once you make payment tickets take a while to be issued. Need to check in junk mail box. Not easy flowing.

I have had a hotel booking and a flight that I paid for through this app. They canceled my booking without my consent and then refused to refund my purchase price, asked for sensitive identification materials through unsecured email correspondence and made excuses for not refunding the reservations they failed to deliver. It’s a fraudulent company and you would be much safer booking directly with the airlines or hotels.

Used it to book a hotel. When we arrived they hadn’t book it. Took 30 extra minutes before it was figured out. So I tried them for a car rental giving them a second chance. They charged the credit card but never sent a confirmation. So we called to just cancel and the customer service hassled us about canceling. Waste of time. Nothing but trouble and headaches.

The hotel prices shown while shopping for a hotel are significantly lower than the actual prices paid (in English version). You can see in fine print when you pay but not before. There are some undeclared fees added to the total. Some of these are to Ctrip itself and some of them are hotel. There is no distinction made.

They’ve owed me money for 6 months now and I’m having to fight tooth and nail for it. And since they’re based in China, staff in other offices around the globe have no real power or ability to get anything done, especially during Chinese holidays, which are always a week long! I submitted 10 times to book my trips, however, the trip was canceled because the financial system went down. Though my credit card and debit cars are working fine. I called customer support 4 times and they promised to call and email me back, however, they never did. Im so frustrated and don’t trust this brand and app.

I plan one of my trips with this company and it was the worse thing I could do. First, they changed my flight so I had to pay more to get one that could fit the days I needed (their costumer support was terrible!). Then, I had to cancel my flight because of the COVID and I’m waiting for my refund since April 5th. I, again, talked with one of the customers service and they just give me excuses and saying to have patient. I’m really disappointed! I just want my money back, because it was great to buy with them, really easy! Until you have a problem, then you just have zero support.

TLDR: disorganized service wasted a lot of time and $$ with hotel scam. Recently booked a hotel, like I have many times before with trip.com. When I arrived the hotel was under construction, bike lock on the door. There were no signs and 0 indication that the hotel was in operation. Take my booking and money but hotel is being renovated... looking like a scam. Called the front desk several times with the number provided on my booking and nobody answered. Had to book another hotel while I was standing on the street with my luggage. No worries, Trip.com has good customer service... think again. Hotel refused to give a refund because they apparently had a different unmarked entrance in an alley behind the building. The first trip.com rep helped me call and ask to speak with a manager, though the number they used was did than that provided on my booking. Representative said trip.com could offer 100$ rebate on the 300$ booking but that we would wait to hear back from the hotel manager. Sencond rep calls me back informing me the hotel is declining to refund me and that there is no note from the first rep about the 100$ rebate. Result: lots of wasted time and $$ Don’t bother guys go with a reliable company that cares about protecting it’s customers from unscrupulous hotels.

Avoid at all costs. If you need a refund because you get sick in a pandemic, and want to be a responsible citizen and not travel while sick, they will have you jump through hoops to get doctors notes for a full medical refund, that they then deny, not because you weren’t sick, but because they have idiotic policies and idiotic staff who don’t know how to operate within their own system. Trip.com screwed me out of $1000, because I was a socially responsible citizen. They deserve to go out of business. Evil bloodsuckers. Never ever use trip.com.

I will never use this company again for flights, never again. Their services aren’t good, you practically need to fight with them to get back your money, and they lie about refund. But when they need to take your money and provisions, they are very fast. Buy the tickets directly from the flight company’s and save yourself of bad experience.

So I’ve tried everything, everything I can think of and now I’m so tired. I’ve called them a million times, nobody ever answers. I get to the end and then just get hung up on because “so many callers” I’ve tried their customer support thing on the app which is just animated, it’s not a real person so does nothing to actually help. And I emailed! I was getting the furthest with email, but only got half my flight cancelled? I have now emailed them about that 7 times over the past week and a half about how I need the full flight cancelled and if they would work on my full refund. I keep getting responses back that it’s already cancelled! they are already working on my refund! Well I can go onto the app and it tells me it’s half cancelled and that I only have half my refund in progress so somebody’s lying to me, and I’m going to say it’s the animated computer idiot that’s replying to my emails. I will never use trip.com again. During this time what they are doing to people is horrible. I feel so miserable and exhausted, and just that there’s no hope in resolving this. I’m just going to lose my money and there’s nothing I can do about it. Trip.com couldn’t care less about their customers, this whole thing has really gotten to me and I have no idea what to do anymore besides tell everyone what they’ve put me through.

I made a booking online because they had the best price. It wouldn’t let me cancel online and forced me to download the app to cancel my flight. Why on earth was that necessary? I’m just going to delete the app anyways. Customer service is very difficult to reach as well.

Their policy states that they will assist you during this covid-19 pandemic but that is a big lie. Called them like 5 times nothing was done, and on my last call, they told me to contact united airlines and Brussels airlines for my voucher because they could not do anything for. I was the one who was supposed to get everything done at that stage. Meanwhile Brussels and United airline clearly state that if a flight was booked through a travel agency, passengers should contact the travel agency which will In turn contact them for any adjustments. This is definitely the first and last time I am using Them and I do not advice anyone to use them at all.

While their policies state they will assist or refund or at least help in SOME possible way regarding flights and the COVID-19 virus, I’ve found this was not the case at all. I was trying to get home and ended up stranded at an airport in LA after a transit country changed their policies on allowing foreigners through, and so was unable to complete my flight. I called Trip and was helpfully told they would get me on the next flight they could. Hours later, I’m still sitting in LAX without a phone call. I had to book a hotel and eventually another flight, still hearing nothing from them. I was stranded in LA for three days while they couldn’t be bothered to send even a single automated or otherwise update that they were working on a solution. I called numerous times, and each time the support I received was progressively worse until I received emails that they closed the ticket because it had been too long! They didn’t take any action but closed the ticket because they couldn’t come to a solution??? PLEASE. If I could, I would leave 0 stars for this company. DO NOT USE THEM FOR TRAVEL. I recommend any other booking agency or the airlines directly. Don’t get screwed over like I did.

I’m normally not writing reviews but it is a must to come express my self here for other customers or passengers. I’ve been treated so badly with this people that works here. Both of my flights got canceled and I called tons of time just to put me on hold for the next 10 mins or so.. frustrating if you’re a traveling that is on a tight budget because the moment the table shakes you’re in big trouble to either rebook new tickets or get stalk in airport terminals.. the customer service is really not doing well too, the calls we place consumes lots of money yet still they keep you waiting for a very long time that I had to hang up the call! I understand the flight fares are quite reasonable but Incase you something pops.. get ready to spend money on new tickets or what have you. So far.. please improve the customer care service and handle us properly. We are spending a lot of money on tickets and doesn’t wanna spend more on calling you again!🙄

Somehow this company doesn’t handle finances very well. My account has been frozen for services I did not use. I made booking through someone trying to start a travel business and fully paid for my trips. At some point the “financier” decided to defraud the company and chargeback some 50k+RMB. Since they can’t or won’t take those people to court, they’ve decided to freeze my and a few other people’s account until WE PAY THEM! Also, the iOS app stopped working from about January.

It does not even meet my lowest expectations for a travel booking website. This is an unprecedented time with the covid pandemic and I can’t believe they are unwilling to reimburse customers for flights they cannot take during international lockdowns. I am not looking forward to my trip to Paris, because the whole country is shut down, but for some reason Trip.com refuses to reimburse travellers for their plane tickets. I purchased my flight to Paris several months ago, before the covid outbreak and did not purchase extra flight insurance and as a result Trip.com is refusing to reimburse me for my flight, despite this unprecedented health crisis. I spoke over the phone with customer service this past Sunday and was informed I would receive a detailed account of the conversation Trip.com had with the airline and a response on my flight reimbursement. I have not received any email, it has been three business days, but saw on the Trip.com app that my request to cancel my flight has been cancelled. I am appalled at how Trip.com is handling the covid crisis right now and will be taking my travel business elsewhere in the future. I am telling all of my friends and family of my terrible experience with Trip.com during the covid pandemic and urge anyone reading this to seriously consider booking with another website or book directly though the airline. If I were to compare you to a famous character, it would be Dwight Schrute, because you are holding steadfast to company policy despite unprecedented circumstances. You are thinking rigidly with your mind and not showing compassion to your customers. Many other travel websites are minimally providing travellers with a travel credit to use at a later date after the pandemic recedes. You are punishing low-income customers who are trying to save money by booking flights early and then telling them they can be reimbursed only up to 10% of their total cost because they unwittingly purchased plane tickets before the start of a world-wide medical crisis.

I’m a long time customer who will now be using any other booking site but this one. They are refusing to refund my corona virus cancelled flight just because they can. After a month of trying to resolve the situation my only recourse here in China is suing them. Save yourself the headache by using any other booking service but Trip.com

I think the app runs well and is simple and really easy to use, especially if you travel in Asia a lot. They have a cancel button for flights on the app but you still have to call in and hope someone is available, so I’m not sure what the point of having that button is. In fact, most things end up getting directed to the customer service phone line. Last time I tried cancelling a ticket I couldn’t get anyone to answer me and when someone finally answered they were pretty rude. Only reason I use it is because they take my Chinese bank card smoothly. A shame considering a year ago the customer service seemed pretty great.

My heavy heart and very upset with trip. com , the refund was unclear , the cancellation safeguard refund in Covid -19 virus epidemic was not according to their policy. In short they dont refund your cancellation. They dont come back to you and make it clear if the airline refund them or not. In short customer service is very poor. On this matter , this online needs to be reported to the tourism to shut it down. Until now they never refund. Took 1200$ on me.Stay away ... dont buy on them.

This company and app deserves zero stars, their customer service will do everything it can to delay and rob you. I had a flight cancelled, so naturally I applied for a refund. The refund never came after over a month of asking them everyday just for the STATUS of the refund, I got nowhere. I love this app. As someone who lives in China this app has proved its worth many times over the years. Sadly though it seems that as soon as a crisis comes they aren’t prepared. I was suppose to take a trip but because of the Coronavirus outbreak I was unable to. I canceled my hotels and one round trip flight without issue yet when it came to the international round trip I was told to call customer support. I chatted from the app and the guy said he would start the process and it would be done in 24 hours. It’s been 21 days and I was JUST told the cancellation process was stopped because they don’t cover it anymore. Without my flight cancellation I can’t proceed to cancel my other activities has had already paid for on my holiday. Each time I’ve chatted or called I’ve been told it’s being processed NEVER that it wasn’t going to happen. Poor customer service in a time of need. Poor communication since each time I was told I would get an email and I NEVER do. Will go back to using other apps that aren’t as easy to navigate but have decent service

I dealt with trip.com through email for over a month trying to get a flight changed. The only responses I ever got were “thank you for your patience”, but nothing done. After a month I tried to have the flight canceled, since it was not being changed. It was just more run-around through emails. After two phone calls and being told it would be resolved in 24 hours, there was no communication from them for three days. When I called back again, I was hung up on by three different customer service reps. I was never rude or disrespectful, just asked to speak to a supervisor. At that point, I was put on hold and hung up on. I would be very leery of using this company if you ever anticipating needing to make changes to tickets.

I booked a non-refundable hotel in Macau , December 2019. When checking into the hotel 2 months later in late January 2020 (Chinese New Year), the hotel tells me that they could not locate the trip.com reservation in a rude manner. More sadly, there is a SARS similar virus going on in the area, and there is an urgent order (law) stating hotel booked in the area of China mainland / MACAU / HONG Kong can be cancelled with full refund. I called trip.com three times spending around one hour on the phone; the first CSR is as impatient as the hotel; the second CSR hang up on me; the third CSR finally cancelled the booking and sent the cancellation confirmation to the wrong address.

Overall the absolute worst website I have ever used in my life. The complete lack of empathy is both disgusting and sickening. I will strongly recommend that anyone uses ANY other site. I am revolted. The website automatically put in a date for my stay which was three days BEFORE the date I was actually trying to stay. I didn’t notice the date was wrong until I got my confirmation email and saw the dates. I called customer support about 30 minutes after making the reservation and they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. They ended up taking $100 out of my account. I was extremely upset and disgusted. Customer support was no help and this site is NOT to be trusted. I would highly recommend anyone to never use this site. If I could give this app a negative rating, I would. I am disgusted and beyond upset.

Update: now they have put a map button RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN. Clueless reps. Clueless developers. I only use this app to get train numbers and book somewhere else now I made a mistake with my booking and asked the trip.com agent to help me communicate with the airline they refuse to help. Next time I will use any service besides trip.com. Nothing new about the app except annoying notifications to let you know when you’ve chosen filters. App gets worse and worse!

I have spent tons of money on Trip and always give ratings on my purchases. Recently we purchased a tour that was a very expensive epic fail. I gave it a 1 star rating and Trip did not allow it to be posted. Just be warned about the ratings on the app. Did you notice they are all high? There’s a reason for that!!

This app is great. Definitely one of the best travel apps ever. However, there is another possibility to be better than now, it is to add a function for invitations to share schedules. I reserved flights and hotels for My husband and I, but I couldn’t share the schedule with him. I just wanna let him check as I can find through this app such as another app from Trip advisor. This app is easier then the Ctrip Chinese version if you are not from mainland of China . you can use your credit card and passport as default. You can book the train ticket as usual but the ticket will not issued to you right away online I think this is the railroad policy.

I really like using the trip.com app. It’s user friendly and the customer service call center is very helpful. Helps keep your trips organized if you are planning more than one at a time. I love that it allows me to pay using China yuan by card or wechat. It’s perfect for what I need. I never write reviews but I really liked this app and wanted to share. Worst booking experience

This is the worst booking company ever. I booked my flight from LED to SFO with a two hour stop in Paris, as a single flight. They send me the reservation, the tickets and none of that stated that I would need a French visa. Given the short stop, it seems plausible. On the day of departure I learn at the check in counter that I am not admitted to the flight, because I have no visa. Okay, I decided to return the ticket. The ticket from Paris to Los Angeles is with Norwegian, and has a "Flex" category. This means that in the case of no-show it will be refunded, and can also be cancelled beforehand. Norwegian says since Trip.com bought the ticket for me, I cannot cancel it, only Trip.com can. I called Trip.com, and they refused to cancel and refund the ticket. Are they going to just get my refund and pass none of the money over to me?

Quick disclosure: I know the highest level mgmt at CTrip. But! But, I was a loyal customer well before I met them, and they don’t give me any special attention or anything like that . They are friends of my current work place, and that’s it. I’ve been using CTrip since 2011 and long before I moved to China or even knew that it was a Chinese company. Early on I used them exclusively for hotels in Asia. They were usually much cheaper than hotels.com, and I had repeated success— zero issues — with my reservations with CTrip. When I moved to China in winter 2015 I started using them for all travel needs from trains to planes to hotels to vacation packages — literally everything related to travel. As a recommendation for those who are new to CTrip (Trip.com exact same company) consider booking local hotels in prime locations, especially for bookings in China. Local hotels are almost always a much better value for the money than western chain hotels. Local hotels are often in the best locations with better service and better breakfasts and significantly cheaper than their western counterparts. Plus you are supporting locals more directly and significantly rather than Swiss hotel executives. Also with trip.com (again same as CTrip.com) don’t assume that booking early is best. 20 minutes ago I booked a hotel in Wuxi for tonight and am paying 30% less than what I paid the last time when I reserved 2or 3 days ahead of time. (Of course if you need 100%certainty at a certain hotel then book ahead, of course, but again if you can be flexible with exact hotel and there are no major conferences that weekend than why not try one of those local hotels across the street?) The only downside to CTrip is that their rewards program is weak compared to the big hotel chains and even worse than hotels.com (though I think they have watered down their loyalty programs as well... don’t know don’t use them very often anymore). It takes many, many bookings before you get that freebie. Moving back to the positives, the customer service is the best in the travel industry. On the few occasions that I’ve needed to contact customer service I have never had to wait in the phone— not once— and they will resolve issue respectfully and in timely manner, including stupid mistakes that you made (though don’t expect them to pay for your mistakes) . Again super loyal and happy customer who uses trip.com for all Asia travel and also , because they are expanding quickly into western and Southern markets, I’m about to drop all other allegiances to cheapticjets.com, hotels.com etc

This app is VERY useful. I’m not much of a planner so to be able to book a plane ticket the night before and a hotel at the airport AND have all the information I need (ticket information, hotel check in info, even arrival and departure card info for international flights) located in one app has only added in my inability to plan ahead...which I love. My only note would be to have tabs on the top of each hotel selection... so instead of scrolling down each time a hotel is selected; users can quickly access reviews, hotel amenities etc.

Stay away. Faulty app made an error in my booking and after 2 hours getting bounced between departments with people that don’t speak english. I get a whole bunch of “nothing we can do” lossed $100 I got lucky. Upon googling more info many people lossed alot more than me.

I booked a ticket a while ago and the ticket was not going to be emitted for a very long time. My trip plans have changed and I decided to cancel the ticket. However, I couldn’t see any cancellation policies on flights on the website, so I had no idea of finding out whether my ticket could be cancelled or if I would get a refund. I then tried calling the customer service that was supposed to be 24/7. I was on the line for 30min with the automated voice saying “sorry, all of our representatives are busy right now”. Seriously, if your representatives are really all busy, who takes 30 minutes to deal with a customer, unless you are talking to your grandma? Then again, if dealing with customer service takes this much time, it also indicates that there is some serious structural problems within Trip.com. Horrible experience. On top of that, one time they changed my flight information to a worse flight that was cheaper and did not refund me for the difference.

This company has been incredibly helpful for my traveling in Asia! This one time I was stuck in this random city in China (by myself!!) because a connecting flight of mine got cancelled after I’d already begun my journey. That’s okay, but the issue was that NO ONE spoke English and my chinese is HORRID. So I called cTrip to ask what was being done about this situation and they assured me they were on it to find out. They had my back the entire 2 days I was stuck in that random town and I finally made it to Thailand! I had to cancel every single one of my previous hotel reservations and cTrip took care of all of it for me. It was actually one of the best trips of my life. So, yes they have a booking fee. But after that fiasco, I know that booking through this company is a solid choice and that they won’t leave me to deal with everything by myself. If you’re traveling Asia, and want some support, cTrip is the way to go!

While their policies state they will assist or refund or at least help in SOME possible way regarding flights and the COVID-19 virus, I’ve found this was not the case at all. I was trying to get home and ended up stranded at an airport in LA after a transit country changed their policies on allowing foreigners through, and so was unable to complete my flight. I called Trip and was helpfully told they would get me on the next flight they could. Hours later, I’m still sitting in LAX without a phone call. I had to book a hotel and eventually another flight, still hearing nothing from them. I was stranded in LA for three days while they couldn’t be bothered to send even a single automated or otherwise update that they were working on a solution. I called numerous times, and each time the support I received was progressively worse until I received emails that they closed the ticket because it had been too long! They didn’t take any action but closed the ticket because they couldn’t come to a solution??? PLEASE. If I could, I would leave 0 stars for this company. DO NOT USE THEM FOR TRAVEL. I recommend any other booking agency or the airlines directly. Don’t get screwed over like I did.

I have always been pleased with trip’s ease of use, especially living in China and not reading Chinese. But recently their customer service really impressed me. I’m traveling to Vietnam over Chinese New Year/Tet and I booked a hotel back in November. The hotel fell under new management, who refused to honor my booking. The trip staff offered a good alternative at a better rate. I didn’t take it because I had some specific amenities I wanted that the new hotel didn’t offer. I found a new hotel and trip sent me a good amount of money as compensation, even though this was not their fault and I had not pre-paid for the room.

This is the worst hotel service I have ever used. Our card was charged by the service provider for our room and the service card that they sent to the hotel declined. The customer service provider could not figure out could not understand what was going on and wanted us to pay for the nights at the hotel and then have the service refund me for my charge, even though I already paid the service. If the provider could not pay for my room after I paid them. How could I expect them to refund me. Not only was this bad but the customer service was awful she hardly spoke English and was very rude to us after I refused to pay the hotel for the room I already paid the provider for. Now I have to dispute the charge to the provider because I ended up paying the hotel for my room. Luckily they gave it to me at the discounted rate. If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m convinced this is a scam. BEWARE!!!!!

Today I experienced the worst experience in dealing with customer services. Tried to contact them through the chat function on line, waited 20 minutes still no response whatsoever. Next I tried the customer service phone number and got hung up on twice and all I was asking for is how to find a receipt for what I had paid for when I booked the room. I used to believe the Chinese folks were respectful and were great folks to deal with at least here in the USA they are, but when you call the support folks in Hong Kong it’s an entirely different story. At least the hotel did confirm my reservation. Now I’ll have to make sure that they were paid. I’d rather pay more from other hotel websites than ever deal with these folks ever again. I wished I could rate them with a negative stars especially when it comes to customer service.

This has been the worst customer service I’ve ever received. The app is glitchy and the call center is in China. I had a emergency in my Family and was unable to cancel my booking the calL rep I spoke was rude and unhelpful just repeating the same words back to me over and over even when I asked my next steps and asked for more help he kept repeating himself. I’ve emailed this organization twice and they had the same rep call me on the day I was suppose to leave for my trip asking me for proof and being so inconsiderate it maybe uncomfortable I had to hang up the phone. Please do not book from this site you will have nothing but issues if you need to reach out or confirm with anyone and all Hotels will refer you back to these people who have no desire to help you.

I think the app runs well and is simple and really easy to use, especially if you travel in Asia a lot. They have a cancel button for flights on the app but you still have to call in and hope someone is available, so I’m not sure what the point of having that button is. In fact, most things end up getting directed to the customer service phone line. Last time I tried cancelling a ticket I couldn’t get anyone to answer me and when someone finally answered they were pretty rude. Only reason I use it is because they take my Chinese bank card smoothly. A shame considering a year ago the customer service seemed pretty great.

CTrip makes booking flights supper easy and straight forward. I live in China and it’s not always easy to communicate or make travel arrangements. However, now that ctrip has a new price alert option it allows me to take advantage of affordable prices that are suitable to my budget and schedule. CTrip is becoming by far the best way to book and arrange trains and flights. Especially if you are an Expat living in Asia.

I’m normally not writing reviews but it is a must to come express my self here for other customers or passengers. I’ve been treated so badly with this people that works here. Both of my flights got canceled and I called tons of time just to put me on hold for the next 10 mins or so.. frustrating if you’re a traveling that is on a tight budget because the moment the table shakes you’re in big trouble to either rebook new tickets or get stalk in airport terminals.. the customer service is really not doing well too, the calls we place consumes lots of money yet still they keep you waiting for a very long time that I had to hang up the call! I understand the flight fares are quite reasonable but Incase you something pops.. get ready to spend money on new tickets or what have you. Their policy states that they will assist you during this covid-19 pandemic but that is a big lie. Called them like 5 times nothing was done, and on my last call, they told me to contact united airlines and Brussels airlines for my voucher because they could not do anything for. I was the one who was supposed to get everything done at that stage. Meanwhile Brussels and United airline clearly state that if a flight was booked through a travel agency, passengers should contact the travel agency which will In turn contact them for any adjustments. This is definitely the first and last time I am using Them and I do not advice anyone to use them at all.

Personally, i would recommend C trip for everyone if we had to rank all the apps it comes in 2nd place right after wechat, and right before Facebook that’s how much I love C Trip.. what I love the most is that anyone from anywhere can have access to it and they don’t need to pass through travel agencies.. how awesome is that.. This app is great. Definitely one of the best travel apps ever. However, there is another possibility to be better than now, it is to add a function for invitations to share schedules. I reserved flights and hotels for My husband and I, but I couldn’t share the schedule with him. I just wanna let him check as I can find through this app such as another app from Trip advisor. Please consider this seriously !!

I wish I could give this app (and company) zero stars. Price increases after you select a flight, prices for both hotels and flights are cheaper on the Chinese version, for foreigners payment options are a nightmare (if you us a foreign credit card and there’s any issue with the booking, their customer support is only trained to say one thing: it’s a problem with your bank, you need to contact your bank), and finally overall their customer service is abysmal; poor English, no ability to resolve your problem (in fact that’s exactly what it is: it’s YOUR problem)

I plan one of my trips with this company and it was the worse thing I could do. First, they changed my flight so I had to pay more to get one that could fit the days I needed (their costumer support was terrible!). Then, I had to cancel my flight because of the COVID and I’m waiting for my refund since April 5th. I, again, talked with one of the customers service and they just give me excuses and saying to have patient. I’m really disappointed! I just want my money back, because it was great to buy with them, really easy! Until you have a problem, then you just have zero support.
Love CTrip especially for domestic travel.

CTrip is a very good company with great customer service. Lots of good deals with airfare and hotel bookings. Yet, to make it even better, they should add an option that allows you to book the HK and Macau ferries. Also, it would be nice if customers are allowed to add in their frequent flyer numbers with their airfare purchases whether it is with the operating airline or an affiliated airline within the airline groups such as SkyTeam, Star Alliance, or OneWorld. Thank you.

This app was great for booking my flight, hotel, and train tickets for my trip to Thailand. Map feature is awesome, and things you can do helped me manage my poorly planned trip. Best travel app ever. Add currency converter and phrasebook and you wouldn't need anything else when traveling!

I booked flights on this website then i had to cancel it. The website doesnt give enough info about the cancellation so i called the customer service they said if the ticket is not issued we can refund if it is issued already you have to pay 50 dollars. Apparently it is 50 per person. What bothers me is that first they issued my ticket to get 50 dollars per person then cancelled my ticket. What an integrity!!! I would not recommend any company trying to make money like this. Definitely will not use their service again.

Somehow this company doesn’t handle finances very well. My account has been frozen for services I did not use. I made booking through someone trying to start a travel business and fully paid for my trips. At some point the “financier” decided to defraud the company and chargeback some 50k+RMB. Since they can’t or won’t take those people to court, they’ve decided to freeze my and a few other people’s account until WE PAY THEM! Also, the iOS app stopped working from about January.

Its a great app and easy to use, but Can you guys make the currency viewing of the price in Kuwaiti Dinar ? Your country currencies are so limited. Please make some more options because you got lots of users here who are using the app but “converting” at the same time to the money currency were using here in Kuwait. Thank you!

The app is useful for aggregating different Chinese airlines, but when it comes time to make a reservation, I would highly recommend going directly to the airline or hotel website or a truly international travel site (China Eastern or Expedia). Otherwise Ctrip simply adds one more unnecessary layer (in contrast, though I’ve had other issues with Expedia in the past, they have also worked hard to contact the airlines on my behalf to resolve travel issues. You’ll get no such service from Ctrip.

This company and app deserves zero stars, their customer service will do everything it can to delay and rob you. I had a flight cancelled, so naturally I applied for a refund. The refund never came after over a month of asking them everyday just for the STATUS of the refund, I got nowhere. Now they’re telling me I’m outside of the limitation to apply for a refund, but they’ll “look into alternatives”. Unbelievably bad, the worst experience I have ever had with a travel company. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Booking a flight on the app I am only shown different fares, but not booking/fare classes. But it is very important to know if my flight is in M, U, H, Q or V class. That information needs to be shown! What a discrimination not to disclose this. Does Ctrip really want to keep its passengers in the dark? Come on...

You sit down at the coffee shop, get out your tablet and keyboard, excited about planning a trip.... but CTrip appears to display ONLY IN LANDSCAPE mode!!! Guys, a LOT of people use iPads and other tablets. And they use them in LANDSCAPE mode, particularly when typing on a keyboard. Unless Ctrip is going to be a phone-only app, I encourage you to make it usable for people who use it like a laptop! Thanks for listening to your customers!

Keep up the good work. Your app is probably I one of the nice ones out there next to Cleartrip. I don’t know why you folks removed the ease of scrolling through dates at the top though. Tech challenges should inform the UX :-)

I have used this app several times for booking hotels, flights and tours. I absolutely love this app. It’s easy to navigate and you can have all your information for a tip in the same place! I highly recommend.

I’ve recently encountered 2 serious issues with the Ctrip systems and the iOS iPad app. 1) some where in the recent past a change to the user data base screwed up my name. Fortunately I spotted the error in my name (western) prior to attempting to go through security with an erroneous boarding pass. After bringing this to Ctrip’s attention they eventually (not without encountering initial resistance from customer support), recognized that their system was at fault and taken financial responsibility for the error. 2) Simply resizing a hotel map loses all the hotels! How did this version of the iPad app get into production with such an obvious error? It appears to this old IT professional that Ctrip fails to take their obligation to deliver system operations and software development seriously enough.

I couldn’t get a flight due to corona virus. I called prior the flight date and requested the cancellation and refund of my flight. They canceled and refused to refund me the money of a flight I couldn’t take just because the ticket was non refundable! It’s unacceptable to steal money from consumers ! Enough is enough ***** UPDATE : they answered saying the cancellation policy is airlines policy ! I had your logo on the invoice !!!!!!!! Where do you back me up when I purchase with you ???? You’re only the middle man ????

This app is easier then the Ctrip Chinese version if you are not from mainland of China . you can use your credit card and passport as default. You can book the train ticket as usual but the ticket will not issued to you right away online I think this is the railroad policy.

I really like this app with all the specials and deals that it pulls up, but man I wish the military time has an option to be changed. I know I should just learn how to tell military time but it would be better if that was an option to change.

Basically nothing works in this app. In the middle of a search it will jump off to a different place. I’m constantly having difficulty with it. It’s like it was made by children! I’m a long-time customer and I’m constantly jumping to somebody else’s company because your app is so lousy. My wife uses Chinese C trip and the prices are 2/3 of what they are on English version. it’s like you’re trying to screw me for the extra cash.

Would not recommend this, I ended up booking two flights for the same day same time under the same name because the first time doing it it said the process failed and when I called the support here they weren’t any help at all and did not resolve my problem and now I’m getting charged for two tickets because they can’t do anything about it “supposedly” if ai could I would give zero stars

Prices are attractive. But it s kind of a hassle to check in online and get boarding pass cause you have to go on airline website. Also once you make payment tickets take a while to be issued. Need to check in junk mail box. Not easy flowing.

Frequently cancels reservations without refund

I have had a hotel booking and a flight that I paid for through this app. They canceled my booking without my consent and then refused to refund my purchase price, asked for sensitive identification materials through unsecured email correspondence and made excuses for not refunding the reservations they failed to deliver. It’s a fraudulent company and you would be much safer booking directly with the airlines or hotels.

Used it to book a hotel. When we arrived they hadn’t book it. Took 30 extra minutes before it was figured out. So I tried them for a car rental giving them a second chance. They charged the credit card but never sent a confirmation. So we called to just cancel and the customer service hassled us about canceling. Waste of time. Nothing but trouble and headaches.

The hotel prices shown while shopping for a hotel are significantly lower than the actual prices paid (in English version). You can see in fine print when you pay but not before. There are some undeclared fees added to the total. Some of these are to Ctrip itself and some of them are hotel. There is no distinction made.

They’ve owed me money for 6 months now and I’m having to fight tooth and nail for it. And since they’re based in China, staff in other offices around the globe have no real power or ability to get anything done, especially during Chinese holidays, which are always a week long! Yet if I wanted to book a ticket (never again!), they’d be readily equipped to take my payment. But a refund takes a lifetime. Beware-
