Purchase disappeared
by Bryliemmason on 2019/09/07 05:24
I purchased all the workbooks and was charged, only to have them disappear. I can find the option to download a pro version, but it wants me to pay even though I already did through in app purchases. There is no restore purchase option within the app. So frustrating!!!!!

by So!Blessed! on 2019/01/09 16:34
I have messaged this app company 3 times and have not received any response. I paid to have the entire app unlocked and it did not unlock anything. Very frustrating. Don’t waste your money on the full version, especially with such poor customer service.

Can’t Access Settings!!!
by Stace413 on 2018/11/16 17:23
Was great for my son when learning and he still loves it but all of a sudden the settings are locked and I can’t access. And there doesn’t seem to be any kind of help page or link to get answers. Beyond frustrating!!!

Don't buy
by Mommyyyyyyyyyyyyy on 2018/10/23 01:51
I purchased this app for 2.99 on Oct 2nd and now on the 22nd it is asking me to purchase again. What is even worse I don't have a way to contact the app. When I click help I get an error. Don't waste your money on this
Scam
by thep@rentofpissed on 2018/10/08 15:40
I got the app for my 5yr old to help with his letters and then paid the initial 2.99 to unlock the entire workbook. The app was deleted and now it wants me to pay for the workbooks again I know it’s 3 dollars but I’m not gonna pay for when I have to update or it gets deleted again to pay over and over and no way to recover.
Great app but...
by mommavizzi on 2018/09/29 17:28
I love this app and how it challenges my 4 year old. My issue starts where I downloaded it on my phone and paid 2.99 to unlock all the levels, but when it simultaneously downloaded on my iPad it is requesting I pay the 2.99 again to unlock all the levels on my iPad. It should be a once and done thing, it’s pretty slimy to charge twice like that.
Purchased but now content is locked again.
by Pablo de Paz on 2018/08/27 01:58
I purchased this app and used it with one of my kids. Now the content has been locked again with no method to restore my purchase and the developer does not respond to communication.

I wrote a review but it still charged me $2.99. I think I will use this app often with my Kindergarten class.
Pretty good
by kdpdll on 2018/07/24 23:19
I am not able to proceed passs the three finger tap.tried already. Do I just need to purchase app to access?. Other than that app is good.
Really good.
by Michel Cass on 2018/07/17 03:09
I got the free version for my 3 year old grandchild. She spent about 30 minutes tracing her letters. She has tried all the free sections so this Grandmother will be purchasing this app for her little ones. She had no problems navigating the app or understanding what to do. I think I will also buy some tracing paper and pencils! Never too early to learn..or too late for that matter.

Missing child lock
by Aurora00021 on 2018/03/06 02:01
The content is good. The only issue I have is my kid reading the home button which brings them out of the app. I wish there was a three finger app lock (or something similar) so my kid is locked into the app
Crashes constantly
by preeschooliscool on 2018/02/28 15:24
Ever since I bought the additional workbooks it crashes. Can’t get through a single time without it crashing and going back to my home page. Waste of $2.99
No sound!
by Hs SpEd on 2018/02/20 17:27
How are kids supposed to know what to do without verbal directions?
Terrible Support
by 21nickname21 on 2018/02/18 15:44
I was pleased with this app until I purchased the additional content. It works fine on my iPhone but doesn’t register on my iPad. This is after reinstalling, logging out and back in, and other typical troubleshooting techniques. Alligator Apps says they have “heroic support” but this must be a joke because they’ve ignored over 6 emails from me over the last month. Beware of this app if you want your kids to use it across multiple devices.
Great!
by *bigB* on 2018/02/15 17:39
My daughter is learning a lot from this App!
Great learning tool
by SAupton on 2018/02/03 20:51
Compared to many other free letter learning apps this one is more helpful. My 4 year old struggles learning letters, but likes this game and I can tell it’s helping her learn after only a few uses. I am impressed!! Definitely try this one!

Stroke order details
by Kumon Greenville on 2017/10/14 13:46
I own and operate a learning center, and I am very particular about details. I really like this app for learning and practicing stroke order of letters, but I found some discrepancies. Letters should always be written from top to bottom, and left to right, without picking up the pencils unless necessary. The "t" in this app is crossed correctly, from left to right, but the "f" is crossed right to left. The "z" shows a restart at each angle, but the pencil should stay on the page. Other letters continue properly. The "p" shows the first stroke down, then picks back up to the top for the circle. Other similar letters are correct. The "y" shows to make a "v" then track back down the same line for the long line. I believe that letter is usually taught and more neatly written by little ones as two strokes. It's hard for them to neatly write over the angled line. I would recommend this to my parents, but the discrepancies would be too hard to explain.

Great app. My child liked it a lot. The graphics are fun. The games get more challenging as they progress and that keeps her interest. She is motivated to keep going and excited for the next games.
Needs more letters
by Nizar Kurdish on 2017/06/25 15:15
If a kid starts to learn writing the first six letters then its normal he meeds to continue learn the remained ones .. I don't know why you want him to wait ..
Fun learning app!
by MattDaddy10 on 2017/06/19 16:47
So far so good. App works well and kiddos love it! Only had it for about a week. I'll try to update after we have used it longer.

Great! More?
by JoysenberryRev on 2016/12/18 05:12
Phenomenal app! I love the touch games especially! I just wish it was slightly more customizable. I can change the boards, but I would like to be able to access specific letters on demand for the tracing game. I would also like the app to have profiles for keeping track of progress of individuals.
Awesome
by Maria1706 on 2016/09/28 12:45
I teach kindergarten and I like to use this to work with kids one on one. They enjoy it and it reinforces skills I'm teaching in class. Great for review.
Grateful
by Fresh grown foods on 2016/07/03 02:10
I really like the way you've made this app so multi-faceted, with so many ways for a pre-schooler to make connections between pictures and letter symbols. I appreciate as much as possible that you've attempted to include pictures that pre-schoolers can understand and relate to. Making learning fun is something this app does well.
Too many bugs!!!
by Great God of Fire on 2016/06/21 01:31
It's a great little app, but the tracing sections barely function!! I would totally buy the rest of the letters if it worked!! Very disappointing. I've tried it several times when my son was frustrated and I could not get the line to follow my finger either. It just kept giving me the error noise. Now he hates the app, which is a shame because it had a lot of potential. I'll leave it on for a little bit longer to see if there's an update. I will agree with some of the other users that the objects shown to match with the letters in the matching app are pretty vague. Sometimes it would stump me for a minute, but then I'd use it as an opportunity to introduce a new word, so I'm ok with that.
Love it...

No sound!
by Exec Engineer on 2016/01/06 01:11
I wonder why this app did not include any sound. Kids love to watch and learn something with sound. Only few letters are free. If this app had sound on it, I would pay for the remaining letters. That's why I would rather just delete this app from my iPhone.
Disappointed
by Dawson 2 on 2015/10/07 19:52
Doesn't let child know sounds of letter when wrong one is chosen. The letter simply disappears. Disappointing app!
good app but...
by Violetbailey on 2015/07/01 22:00
I think this could be a great app. but why is it that you have to buy every other letter besides a and b.

Great but...
by Lou'sMomma on 2015/02/26 16:00
I love how you put so much effort into this app in tryin to help the children learn many things education and helping to prepare for preschool kindergarten but the down fall is how well you guys give detail about how great this app is and how many games and learning techniques are inside it but you only get the first 6 letters... There's so many apps that do the same exact thing our app does and all with a price on the app why not really want to help and stand out by allowing this amazing app that truly does help the children and let it be free!! Not all peoples are able to purchase apps or whatever the case is!! So many of us parents want our children to be beyond smart but are tired of seeing a $ tag on the apps that help the kids and the creators of the app talking about how they too are either parents themselves or really want to help and be part of helping the education of these children! Help them and help us by allowing this great app free even for a few days even and i bet you see a huge jump in purchases!
Amazing App for toddler parents

I downloaded this app to give my 17 month old something productive to do on the iPad. It keeps his attention and is very easy to use. It repeats itself a lot increasing letter recognition. Great app, worth downloading.

Good app, but major issues with purchased features
by Chromecast? on 2014/08/19 00:42
We just purchased the full version and it's incredibly hard to draw the connecting lines for all of the letter-specific games that come with the full version. Mo lease fix this ASAP! Thanks
Good. A few things to fix:
by Maseta75 on 2014/07/22 14:14
1) There needs to be more variety in the A is for? game. It becomes easy to memorize. 2) shuffle is not working. 3) tracing is too unforgiving, especially on a small phone screen. Toddler gets frustrated and gives up. I can't even do it sometimes. 4) in the A is for? game, some icons are confusing. For example, the letter L is for either Lion or what looks to be a light.
Meh.
by Sarahpaddy1 on 2014/07/13 22:49
Can't figure out what these pictures start with. A blimp is a zephyr, a sleepy boy is "tired" not boy, a girl with a backpack is "student" not girl. Very frustrating for my kid. A bug that needs fixing, lady asks, how many X-rays do you see, the screen says, " how many ships do you see?"
Fantastic
by Review159000 on 2014/06/23 04:52
This is a wonderfully motivating educational app. It makes learning early writing and reading skills fun. The colors are pleasing and includes concept reinforcing details. For example, in the letter tracing section the tracer is an icon of something that starts with that letter. Well worth a try and well worth the price to unlock the whole app.

My kindergarteners low using this app. They learn letter names and sounds very quickly and are able to identify beginning sounds in words. It helps kids with letter formation as well. Love this app!
Great tool for early alphabet writing and phonemic awareness
by The Grateful Zeds on 2014/04/04 14:44
As a general statement, you are extremely unlikely to be disappointed by anything from Alligator Apps, and this one is no exception. Apologies if I confused you or seemed hoity-toity by using the term "phonemic awareness" in the review title. I may be just a mommy and homeschooler now, but I was originally trained as a linguist, so I find myself stuck with the automatic tendency to use the technical term when it is appropriate. Phonemic awareness, as it deals with learning to read, more or less means learning which letters make which sounds. This app will give your child lots of practice with that. When the child traces the letters, the app (with cute graphics, even!) shows them which order and direction to make the strokes in and when not to lift their finger. If this turns out to conflict with what your own writing program is trying to teach them and this is a problem for you, then I would recommend that you contact the developer with the request to offer alternatives. Grasshopper Apps is known for being for highly responsive to its customers and offering amazing amounts of customizations on most of its apps. (The customization options on most of its apps are literally way more than ten times deeper than the currently available options on this one.)
BAZINGA!!!!

This is such an awesome app. I've had no problem with it and my two year old loves it. He is learning how to write his letters and he does such a great job now. Thank you for helping us bond while he is learning. God Bless!

ABC Genius - Preschool Games for Learning Alphabet Letters and Phonics Awesome app for preschoolers in learning their letters- both upper and lowercase, phonics, letter tracing, and early workbook type activities to name a few. The material is laid out in a nice sequence, allowing for work on selected letters if you need to zero in on letters to your name for example. I would love to see in future updates a repeat of directions button for those kids that have difficulty processing directions or are distracted easily. There is an IAP to receive all games and a link to other apps, but it is secured under a button. I would definitely recommend this app especially to kids starting in a preschool classroom environment. Parental involvement could include playing school, and giving out homework (something preschoolers enjoy) or pointing out application of letters to everyday objects. Highly recommended.
Fun way to practice ABCs
by MsS(ELL) on 2013/11/01 21:11
My kindergarteners love all of the fun ways to practice ABCs featured on this app. They especially like the tracing portion! Thanks for making and sharing such a great app!
All in one
by Sharky206 on 2013/10/31 12:19
I like how this app has so many games to choose from. As a teacher and mom of a four year old, this app is a great way to help reinforce those ABCs. My favorite is the proper letter writing strokes. Stroke order is so important and this shows it!!! Just trying to figure out how to make it keep working without shutting off.
Great learning tool!

What a fabulous app for kindergartens to learn more about the alphabet & its sounds. It reinforces what they're learning at school & this app can be used as practice/review at home. I can also see this app being used by teachers & speech therapists. Very well done...& continue bringing us more of these educational Apps.

by TortoiseJ on 2013/08/16 14:56
I liked the fact that your program doesn't reward incorrect answers. Some programs make a sound that encourages kids with Autism to continue to do the wrong answer to get that sound. This one makes a very light sound and takes away the wrong answer.
This has potential but I'm finding some errors
by NOVAOTRL on 2013/08/16 02:41
Where are the lessons after K? I didn't check all the letters but I found many errors in J and K lessons. In K lessons, there are some sounds and references to H In J lesson - a hard g sound was made After funding errors in these two sections I gave up. I know you will fix this since you have put out many great apps I use!
Wonderful learning app
by Lesa80 on 2013/08/15 02:51
What a wonderfully, simple app to " play" with. It is simple to use and easy for my 4 year old grandson to enjoy. The pictures are simple, but the color is nice. Thank you for continuing to offer these fun and educational apps!!!
Genius!
by Hannahshelper on 2013/08/15 01:25
I love this app! It has so many aspects necessary to learn to read. There's recognizing capital letters, small case, and later matching them together. Then there's practice tracing the shapes of the letters, or choosing pictures whose name begins with the letter. There are so many different approaches that a child could work on that it will be easy to keep their interest. The only difficulty that I had was in trying to rate it! Each time I went to the settings page and tapped on "rate this app" it responded that it could not connect with the Itunes store. I had to exit the app to go to the store!

This is an wonderful app! As a former Kindergarten teacher, reading specialist and current first grade teacher, I would definitely recommend it to parents and teachers. The graphics are cute, the directions/activities are simple and clear and I am impressed with the range of letter activities provided. Here are a few questions, suggestions and comments that I hope will be helpful considerations as your designers work to improve and enhance this product: TRACE THE ____ (capital letters) At first it seemed that the little tracer icons began with the same sound as the letter but after letter S this was no longer true. Although it is a subtle feature, matching the tracer icons with the sound of that particular letter is a good reinforcer for youngsters. Trace the capital Z did not work - no tracing icons appeared. I love that the letters can only be formed in the proper way and if another way is tried you get a slight sound effect to indicate no. It is important to learn the right way from the get-go. Will Trace the lower case letters be added? It should. Lower case are even trickier than upper case. MATCH THE PICTURE TO THE LETTER IT BEGINS WITH Children may have trouble identifying some of the pictures. For example, j-jewel but the picture is of a RING with a jewel; d-dart; y-yacht - they will call this a boat; the baby eagle for e is also a tough one. LETTER IN BETWEEN 2 PICTURES The directions say match the sound in the middle to the pictures that start with it but a "sound" cannot be pictured so a letter is there. Reword the directions to say something like "Think of the sound for the letter in the middle. Match it to the pictures that start with that sound." Also, being able to touch the letter to hear the sound would be helpful for many youngsters. The G exercise in this game is a confusing one. An animal that looks like a gorilla and a giraffe are the choices. Giraffe is the correct answer however, giraffe does not begin with g's most common sound - as in "go". The animal that looks like a gorilla is probably an ape. For new learners this doesn't make sense. There are a few other pictures students would probably have trouble identifying in the way the designers expected: i for infant (they will call it a baby); p for puppy (they will call it a dog); t for truck (to children the beginning sounds like /chr/ rather than /t/; zephyr will also be a tricky one. If children do know what it is at all, they are likely to call it a blimp not a zephyr. And finally: Consider adding two setting features: the ability to navigate through the alphabet rather than having to go through the whole thing each time; provide an option to turn of the repeating of the directions for every screen within the same game. Keep up the great work. Your products are top notc

Nice app... Would like a few more features

I really like the app. The pics are great. It would be nice if in the "a is for" part there were lowercase letters and they would say object name or sound after child gets to correct. "Your right...a is for apple a a a. I would like that in the phonics section too. You should also add a "abc touch" lowercase with phonics instead of just names. :).

Fun learning app!

Awesome

Genius!
by Hannahshelper on 2013/08/15 01:25
I love this app!
Grateful
by Fresh grown foods on 2016/07/03 02:10
I really like the way you've made this app so multi-faceted, with so many ways for a pre-schooler to make connections between pictures and letter symbols. I appreciate as much as possible that you've attempted to include pictures that pre-schoolers can understand and relate to. Making learning fun is something this app does well.
Fantastic
by Review159000 on 2014/06/23 04:52
This is a wonderfully motivating educational app. It makes learning early writing and reading skills fun. The colors are pleasing and includes concept reinforcing details. For example, in the letter tracing section the tracer is an icon of something that starts with that letter. Well worth a try and well worth the price to unlock the whole app.
Good variety but Bland
by SPeechLP on 2013/07/26 12:30
This is a very straightforward way to learn some basic skills. I like how the wrong answer disappears but there is no reinforcement of correct sounds or words after identifying so of limited learning value. Also no way of tracking success or varying presentation. I don't see any child clamoring for this. Still it is a nice, clean design and good range of skills. Needs better reinforcers and more settings options.

Phenomenal app! I love the touch games especially! I just wish it was slightly more customizable. I can change the boards, but I would like to be able to access specific letters on demand for the tracing game. I would also like the app to have profiles for keeping track of progress of individuals.

Doesn't let child know sounds of letter when wrong one is chosen. The letter simply disappears. Disappointing app!

Fantastic

This is a wonderfully motivating educational app. It makes learning early writing and reading skills fun. The colors are pleasing and includes concept reinforcing details. For example, in the letter tracing section the tracer is an icon of something that starts with that letter. Well worth a try and well worth the price to unlock the whole app.

I like how this app has so many games to choose from. As a teacher and mom of a four year old, this app is a great way to help reinforce those ABCs. My favorite is the proper letter writing strokes. Stroke order is so important and this shows it!!! Just trying to figure out how to make it keep working without shutting off.

Genius!
by Hannahshelper on 2013/08/15 01:25
I love this app!

Your products are top notc

by StacyRenee3 on 2013/07/27 19:36
I really like the app. The pics are great. It would be nice if in the "a is for" part there were lowercase letters and they would say object name or sound after child gets to correct. "Your right...a is for apple a a a. I would like that in the phonics section too. You should also add a "abc touch" lowercase with phonics instead of just names. :).

My issue starts where I downloaded it on my phone and paid 2.99 to unlock all the levels, but when it simultaneously downloaded on my iPad it is requesting I pay the 2.99 again to unlock all the levels on my iPad.
Great but...

Genius!

Too many bugs!!!

Grateful

I really like the way you've made this app so multi-faceted, with so many ways for a pre-schooler to make connections between pictures and letter symbols. I appreciate as much as possible that you've attempted to include pictures that pre-schoolers can understand and relate to. Making learning fun is something this app does well.
Fantastic

This is a wonderfully motivating educational app. It makes learning early writing and reading skills fun. The colors are pleasing and includes concept reinforcing details. For example, in the letter tracing section the tracer is an icon of something that starts with that letter. Well worth a try and well worth the price to unlock the whole app.
Good variety but Bland

This is a very straightforward way to learn some basic skills. I like how the wrong answer disappears but there is no reinforcement of correct sounds or words after identifying so of limited learning value. Also no way of tracking success or varying presentation. I don't see any child clamoring for this. Still it is a nice, clean design and good range of skills. Needs better reinforcers and more settings options.
