This app sends promotional (spam) notifications, and there’s no way to disable that without turning off all notifications that I see. How very disrespectful of them. They also make it very hard to find help for these kinds of issues without signing up for an account with them. I didn’t need an account to buy tickets but I need an account to find out how to disable their spam notifications? Instead it’s better to just use their website when needed.

I was scheduled to fly out of Italy on the day a national airline workers strike was scheduled to take place. Kiwi got me a hotel in Rome, and rescheduled my flight free of charge. In fact, they did this when they didn’t have to. I scheduled the flight without checking if a strike was going to take place, even though Kiwi warned me that this may happen. They told me they might not be able to help if I scheduled on one of these dates, but they went above and beyond the terms of service and helped me anyway.

If I could give a zero star I would. Never been the one to leave a dishonest review. But man, what a time it’s been with kiwi. Makes me more sad than mad to be honest. It’s been about 9 months with no refund of over 500 dollars and I just don’t get it. Tried calling, emails, reaching out to my bank. Nothing works.

They’re kiwi guarantee is a complete scam. Booked a flight last year during quarantine (obviously couldn’t go) still waiting for my 2000$ ticket to be refunded or even changed into a new ticket but the customer service is intolerable and the purpose of the “guarantee” allows them to indefinitely take your money legally. Please report and tell everyone you know to avoid this app/website/service.

Awful site. Had troubles getting my boarding passes. I couldn’t view them at home or even check in. Thank god for the nice lady at the airport who spent an easy 30mins trying to get my boarding passes. She had to talk to kiwi customer support 3 times. Made me miss my flight, so to start my vaca I’m done $125. Complete trash

I booked my trip in January 2020 to Spain for my son’s soccer tournament in August 2020. And as we now Covid-19 hit us in March and many flights were cancelled, country borders were closed. Of course tournament got canceled. I file refund with Kiwi, because even if I wanted to go to Spain, country was closed and as we know Spain and Italy were hot spot for Covid 19. I am nurse and I am working with Covid patients since pandemic started. Kiwi, was just “ brushing me off” regarding my request for refund. Finally in October 2020 they send me confirmation that in 10 business days money will be back in bank. Unfortunately it was not try. Money never reached the account . Then I filed dispute with Citi bank and they decided that it is my responsibility and money we’re returned back to Kiwi. Now Kiwi, refusing to give me back my money and every time I send them email I will get always different answers and explanations. No phone number, they would not let me talk to manager or finance department. They just keep feeding me with words ( meaningless)Now they are blaming me for opening dispute and they don’t want acknowledge that they failed to deposit my refund in the first place. I am still working on this case, will be calling Citi bank and BBB to help me resolve this situation. All I would like to say, please do not buy anything from them . They don’t care about customers. I am pretty sure if anybody was in my situation like this will understand how I feel. I am really working hard during this time. It is going to be year since Covid started. How many people got effected with that. I had to isolate myself from my own family to make sure everyone is safe. A lot people and small businesses were supporting us , but Kiwi doesn’t care. It seems I am asking their money, no I am asking my money , no more. They are should be ashamed. What goes around comes around . I hope they can’t sleep peacefully at night. I am very disappointed , no humanity.

Since day 1 I’ve had problems with Kiwi. I schedule a booking with my email and all, and every time I turn the page it prompts me to “sign in” and “make a booking” when I clearly have a booking number/account. It’s like it doesn’t want to acknowledge I spent hundreds of dollars, and now I’m being punished for involuntarily having to cancel/refund my trip. What kind of joke is this? If I didn’t use ANY of the services, why shouldn’t I get a FULL refund? How does this make sense? So, I’ve just been scammed out of $600+ dollars, can’t get all of my refund back even though I didn’t even leave my couch! Kiwi is an absolute joke. Awful customer service. Terrible, but Kiwi doesn’t care as long as they get paid!

Kiwi.com is fine overall but the app needed a major overhaul. It not being able to attend information is tiresome and also an extra unneeded hassle. There should a simpler way to sign in account and signing in. The fluctuating prices as flights are being selected also became burdensome.

I booked round trip for two people from my city to Istanbul and as you know they deduct the payment immediately. And flight canceled no reason and they said they will contact the airline and it will take up to 3 months to refund possibility 0$ to refund they said.

It took me over 2.5 days to get home with travel I unfortunately used Kiwi to book. When I was stranded trying to make arrangements, the app only showed connections in another city. I contacted customer service and they responded two days later, after I had already arrived home! There is no refund for your time or money they wasted - avoid this app! Update 2/24/21 - I followed up with Kiwi as prompted by the developer response here and there is no additional resolution or refund for my situation. Avoid Kiwi and avoid hassles and poor customer service!

Originally it was my go to app to search for flights but now when I search for flights to anywhere or United States instead of giving me a long list of different places it now only shows me 1-3 places over and over again. So it’s no longer helpful in looking flight options.

The cancellation policy was incredibly unclear and as i stated my case to even the person in charge- they did not care for how much reason i had in my argument, they simply said no to a refund or future credit. Now, the airline changed something so on these grounds i guess i could apply for a refund. but guess what??? IT CAN TAKE UP TO THREE MONTHS :). but they snatched my money up so fast but three months for a refund ??? yeah. save yourself a headache.

Unfortunately, I did not do research into Kiwi.com before purchasing tickets to Iceland in 2020. The tickets were fully refundable, but Kiwi maintains they have never received a refund. I got through to people at Iceland Air who were able to provide me proof via email that they refunded my tickets. I had the dates, transaction numbers, value, etc. Kiwi had insisted they needed all of this to track down my refund. Ten days later, and after asking again, they claim the refund department still can’t find the refund and I should wait. I’ll give them this - their call/email center in the Czech Republic is certainly responsive. They just send you various lies whenever you contact them. There is no phone number to get ahold of somebody. I’m out of luck, and if you google this company you will find thousands of similar reviews. Do not use this company. I am trying to find a way to report to Apple that this company is a bunch of scam artists. Their app needs to be removed from the App Store.

Since the coronavirus travel restrictions my flights got canceled very quickly and I applied for my refund. The airline emailed me saying I was confirmed for the refund and it was up to my travel agency to deliver it to me. I was in contact with kiwi for months and to this day almost a year later they still haven’t got my refund to me. I’ve been very disappointed with how I’ve been strung along and told to have patience when this long of a wait is beyond what should be normal and acceptable.

Like many people this year I had a planned trip to Europe that was canceled due to the pandemic. Kiwi books you through various airlines on their own card, but charges your card directly with their agency. I was able to speak with customer service at Norwegian air and found out that they had already refunded my airfare directly to Kiwi. Unfortunately, with Kiwi, you are not allowed to speak to anyone over the phone apparently… All interactions go through either email or text messages through their website. It has been over seven months since I know that they received a refund from the airline, and they have still yet to refund anything to me. You’re better off booking everything directly with the airlines. Any bookings you make with this company, just beware that you are risking not getting any money back.

I had a roundtrip flight to Thailand in March. I had to fly hoke early being afraid of lockdown and thinking I might get locked out of coming back to the us. I rebooked a flight and canceled mine. They said it would be 3 months. We are now at 9 months and every month contact them and same old excuse. It’ll come soon. Don’t trust them snd don’t book with them. Anything happens and you’re going to be out of luck.

Booked my flight two weeks in advance and one week before my flight, changes were made to my flight schedule. I called the customer service number 9x and no one was able to help me. I decided to pay for the alternative flight instead which was $128 but their website for some reason won’t let me, I checked with my bank and that wasn’t the problem. When I request for a refund, I was only refunded $34 out of the $165 I paid originally for the flight. DO NOT USE KIWI, it’s a scam!‼️

I had a planned trip to Europe from the US at the beginning of the summer 2020. Obviously it was a hard time for all travel. I anticipated the cancellations of my flights to get to Europe (which I think most if not all were cancelled before they happened) and so I paid the 30$ dollars or so for the “Assisted Refund” option that Kiwi promotes. I assumed that since all my flights to get to Europe had been cancelled, Kiwi would be able to get me some kind of refund for my flights back from Europe (which were 3 months out) and for the flights that were cancelled to get there. It has now been 9 months since I paid Kiwi to assist in the refund process, and I have not gotten so much as a message to say they are working on it or waiting. On their refund page it says “refunds can take up to 3 months” and now it has been triple that with no end in sight. I have not received a penny back, not even for the cancelled flights. If I had received at least a message, an email, or even a phone call explaining that they were working on my refund that I paid them to work on, then I would not be as frustrated. 9 months later, I am still bitter, and not a peep out of Kiwi. Several months ago I tried to get the refunds myself from the different airlines, I believe I got 1 voucher for 1 of my 6 flights(it was from TAP Portugal which is basically only good in Portugal, so it was fruitless), and because Kiwi booked several of the others with some obscure email that I do not know, I was not able to complete the process. I will NEVER book flights through Kiwi ever again and you shouldn’t either. I have a sour taste in my mouth for travel companies now. I think their app is a great resource to find cheap flights, and then once you find them, you should go to the airlines website to actually book the flights on your own. This way you can directly contact the airlines if anything were to happen. You know all the info, and there is no obscurity.

Used app first time and it was stated that for both of the flights that I’ve purchased from kiwi there will be a free check in in the airport and currently they cannot check me in online. When I have already arrived for my first flight the check in desk told me that I have to pay 18€ check in fee. They are charging it since 1st of September and my flight was on 24th. Contacted help-desk regarding the refund and they were also surprised about check in fee but can’t guarantee the 100% refund of the fee. Just a suggestion-always use the real website of the airline as the info on the kiwi might be wrong and outdated as in my case. Update: 3 months have passed since this review and nothing changed and no one contacted me regarding my issue

Do not be attracted with cheap prices. This company is an international scam. I paid all extras, insurances/guarantees. And the flight was cancelled and no refund. Even I paid specifically 300 USD extra to get refunded. They use the pandemic as a cover (research in the internet, you will realize). By know probably made millions. DO NOT USE them, pay extra on the other aggregators for peace of mind. The positive reviews are probably fake. Do not even download them

So I bought a ticket from this website and I paid for the price that was displayed. Yes, it was cheaper than the usual. So i checked in online, and went to airport and realize that my ticket is not useable. What i mean “useable” is, I can NOT fly with the ticket I bought with this kiwi and it is of course not refund able. I contact customer service, and they of cause denied me to refund. Such a scam!!! I bought a ticket and was canceled due to COVID. The company only refunded me 10 dollars saying that I chose express refund instead of standard refund and declined my request for full refund. And I think that I am not the only one lost 1500 dollars buy using this website.

Do not purchase through kiwi they will not even respond if you have issues. My flight was canceled due to Covid 6 months ago and after months I received an email that says “ We’re pleased to inform you that we’ve sent you a partial refund of 22.1 USD via your original payment method” Yet, I have not received anything. I have been assured that I will receive my full refund, still nothing. Their responses are generic and clam they are waiting on the airline. Hawaiian airlines claim they have no problem reminding me but it must go through kiwi since they were the agent. This is ridiculous and I feel kiwi has wronged me. All other places I had flights through issued a full refund within a month. I am very disappointed in my decision to book with kiwi.com

So kiwi.com automatically changes the MONTH of your return ticket when choosing dates!!! So i chose November and my dates and turns out it decided to switch to December on its own and i missed that VERY important change and have to buy a new return ticket because absolutely nobody ANSWERS the phone or messages!!

I wrote a complaint they responded. They didn’t give me a phone number. They've been email back and forth. They changed our ticket to a 6 hour layover right after they sold it to us AND charged us $200 more dollars for the crap flight. They said they would fix it. NOTHING. They are arguing that we didn’t buy their extra services. WE LITERALLY BOUGHT A TICKET AND THEY IMMEDIATELY CHANGED THE TICKET AND SAID WE HAD TO PAY $200 more with WITH A 6 hour LAYOVER. After emails they sent this run around Dear Customer, We no longer use this email address. Instead, we've prepared a new Helpdesk messaging system at Kiwi.com/help/contact. Please reach us there. We believe that this will be much better for you. It's faster than emails, and you'll see all your messages in one place. I sent a regular email related to my flight booking. Immediately received an automated reply asking me to use kiwi.com website or app as they wrote, verbatimly, “ We no longer use this email address. Instead, we've prepared a new Helpdesk messaging system at Kiwi.com/help/contact. Please reach us there.”. Nonetheless the app messaging does not work. It keeps loading without opening any page where “contacts” can be made. Ditto for their website.

I was told 6 months until my refund and it’s been 10months. I understand with covid that things are stressful but my friend for the same flight already received his refund. On top of that I spoke to costumer service 2 months ago and they ensured my refund was arriving soon. 2 months later nothing, not even a updated status and they even blocked me from calling costumer support or even emailing them! Horrible costumer support. Never using this website or app again

I have been waiting 6 months for a refund. I reached out directly to the airline and they confirmed they sent the refund to Kiwi’s credit card. They are holding my money and refusing to acknowledge and give me my money back. I’m not sure how they’re still in business with this criminalistic operating model

I am very unhappy with the way they treat their costumers. I was charged a certain amount to get a “check in” back but upon arrival at the airport, they informed me that the extra service was never actually added to my account and had to pay three times the amount previously mentioned to get my baggage checked in. I strongly advise not to go with this company

Do not book through this company during the pandemic!!!!!! I booked a flight through this site. My flight was cancelled about 2 months before the departure date. I filed a claim to be refunded. They told me it could take up to 3 months to get the refund. It has been 5 months and still nothing. I had to call the airline myself to thing the refund started as Kiwi has not even made a phone call yet to the airlines..... The flight was cancelled so by law they need to give me a refund. It took them 24 hours to bill my credit card, however it is taking 5 months to credit me back. We are in a PANDEMIC Kiwi! People need their money back. The 800 number won’t take my booking number because they are “only dealing with flights in the near future at these times”...... what about the people that have been waiting months to talk to you?!!! Long story short they won’t help me get a refund and they don’t have a phone number to call... customer service is awful!

I spent over $1600 on flights that were cancelled due to covid. Kiwi has done nothing to communicate with me regarding my refund. I request a refund in May. It is now October. No progress at all. I would gladly take a credit instead of a cash refund but again - absolutely no communication at all. If you want to book your travel with a company that doesn’t care about you at all.... kiwi is the way to go.

They have refused my refund and deemed it non-refundable while also showing that I had actually traveled on the flight after it had been cancelled. They are scamming thousands of people out of their refund and in come cases, they are just keeping the money even though the airlines refunded the money back to Kiwi. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THEM!

I understand there is a pandemic going on, but my flight to England was cancelled back in March (we were supposed to travel in May) and I contacted the airline directly who issued a refund promptly. However, they had to issue refund back to kiwi as that was who I had booked through. Despite multiple calls and emails I have yet to get a refund. Not to mention now I can no longer get through to anyone on the phone. I’m automatically disconnected. Highly advise against ever using this company.

When inclement weather struck this app automatically and without permission rebooked our flights and we had to then cancel our trip. They only refunded half of our flight money. Customer service is difficult to reach and understand. I will never use this service again.

I highly recommend not to use Kiwi. While they may have a slightly cheaper air fare, if something goes wrong they have refused to provide me with a refund. It has been 5 months and a constant battle.

Don’t even buy your tickets from here, you’re better off paying the extra dollars and buying directly from the airline! You will have no customer service with them, they will take DAYS to reply to your messages. When you call they will say they can’t help with your situation and try to convince you to buy another ticket when you already bought a ticket and expect you to just wait 3 months for a refund. Worst experience ever, never buying here again. Don’t do the same mistake I did everyone, buying your tickets here.

Kiwi is the process of refunding our money for our flight from NY to Paris and back. A flight that we asked them to refund in early April due to COVID. We confirmed that our carrier refunded them the money. Have received a phone call and things are happening.

The kiwi.com guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. If you are unfortunate enough to have booked with this outfit and get an airline schedule change you will not be covered as kiwi will hide behind a made-up word in the small print.. you options will be to pay them extra money to accept a huge detour in the wrong direction selected by their algorithm, or to accept their zero dollar refund. You can pay them an extra $11 to speak with a robot that is equally as helpful.. Cleverly situated in Eastern Europe, they are out of reach of US & UK trading standards otherwise they would be shut down.. As it’s an algorithm you are dealing with, it doesn’t bother to check with the airlines for suitable alternatives so my advice is to contact the airline direct who will be much more helpful in resolving any issues.

Flights cancelled in March for April flight. Paid for assisted refund and still had waiting for carrier. One airline refunded in July but no sign of partial refund even though the baggage element (which I had paid for directly with airline) had been received back to card. Kiwi flight element paid back to Kiwi but yet to receive the partial refund and no reply to my emails to them. Impossible to get through on phone. STAY AWAY!

I was unable to contact customer service for about a month. When I finally did, one person said I would not receive a refund for my canceled trip due to COVID-19. I asked to speak to another employee and they said I would receive a refund within 3 weeks. It has been over two months and I haven’t heard anything. I purchased travel insurance, but nobody from customer service knew how to file a claim. They said “You have to go through the website.” I’ve looked through the website and I am unable to file my claim. I bought a $500 plane ticket and bought travel insurance on top of that. I have not received any refund back, and I am not sure if I ever will. I will never book through Kiwi again if I do not receive a refund soon. Disgusting.

I booked a flight Pre-Covid—the end of 2019. The airline cancelled it in the spring. That was fine. What is not fine is that it is mid-September, and I still have no refund or voucher and the only time they contact me is after I contact them. I realize the Covid situation is unusual. But I am perfectly happy w a voucher. I’m starting to feel as if my money has just been stolen, and they (Kiwi and the airlines) are hoping I will forget about it. I have been patient. I have not bashed the company anywhere. I know these are unusual times. But my patience is at an end.

Booked my flight though this worthless company while ago. Found out that one of my flights in my upcoming trip was canceled by airline so I contacted Kiwi to find out what can we do they told me that second flight was not canceled thou? Lol. And when I asked how am I supposed to get to that flight all they told me that they will look into it. So long story short I proceeded to request refund one month before our flight was supposed to happen. They gave me 3 options. 1 wait for refund for 3 months, 2 pay them extra money to get expedited refund 3 they offered credit to their website for $120 even thou I spent $2200 lol again. This company is a joke it has been 3 months and have not received any refund or any contact from them. I would never use this company again and strongly suggest not to use them because they will rip you off.

I have waited 3 months and it’s about to be 4 and still no sign of refund when i paid extra for priority. Priority refunds are supposed to come in 6 weeks. They say they are waiting for the carriers but on the carrier’s website they say they are willing to corporate and says to talk to your third party app. I did not spend more than a thousand to get nothing back. I do not recommend to book through this app. The fact that for instant refund i would only get around a hundred dollars back... When I talk to customer service, all they do is repeat the same thing that they are waiting for the carriers and it’s frustrating.

I’m currently stuck at Paris Airport while I write this because of kiwi.com I got suckered into their low price and booked a flight (actually a series of flights) through them to get to Egypt. Long story short, they WILL not honor their “guarantee”, they won’t help you out in a pickle, and they’re operating out of a garage. Very unprofessional. Pay a little bit more. DONT GET STUCK in a foreign airport like I am right now. DO NOT USE KIWI!

I booked a trip from London to Puerto Rico. It was to be two stops. A week after booked, two months before the trip, one of the stops was delayed and and later another stop was cancelled. I called to hear what options they could provide and they basically said to buy another trip and ask for refund. When I COULD call, they never gave me details of how the refund process was going. Now I can’t call because the number is reserved for upcoming trips and mine has passed. DON’T USE KIWI!

Spent $1,440 USD on flights through Kiwi.com; in addition to flights being canceled, we were banned from traveling to/through Europe so we requested a refund. Kiwi said it would take 90 days to refund and on the 90th day, Kiwi sent a “partial” refund of $11.24 USD ($0.12/day USD). I strongly suggest booking directly with the airline next time and take a hard pass on Kiwi. With the way Kiwi.com handled our situation, I can’t imagine they’ll be in business much longer.

The pricing is great & so accessible. My complaint is it’s a little difficult to navigate the information. They send a TON of invites to add to your google calendar with weird times that you’re not even scheduled for. They’re also not terribly clear on what your schedule is in general. I got an email the day prior that I had a flight on Frontier from San Diego to San Antonio & then back. But my flight was Virgin from San Francisco to San Diego then Frontier back to San Antonio. I tried to email costumer support but only got a reply that I need to check in to Frontier even though the flight wasn’t Frontier. I only assumed it might be Virgin & was right. The app has awesome potential to be great. It’s just very glitchy & difficult to understand at this point.

With the recent travel restrictions imposed by the US due to coronavirus concerns, I was, at the time of my calling Kiwi, unable to make the trip. Since then restrictions were changed, but during my phone call I discovered that Kiwi will not budge on refunds even when there is a global crisis that prevents thousands from traveling. In my past experiences, airlines are usually able to make some kind of compensation for the trouble. I had a saver ticket, which I thought would be fine if I weren't making changes for personal reasons, but extenuating circumstances would be handled differently. Not the case here. That said, when everything goes well, Kiwi has fantastic, responsive customer service. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was incredibly polite, and had clear and concise explanations, which I can appreciate even if they frustrate me. Even during the crisis, hold periods were quite short. I’m disappointed that their dedication to the customer experience doesn’t translate to actual measures taken to do the right thing in a global time of need. If it weren’t for my experience trying to explain to them that a global illness should be a fine reason for a partial refund at the very least.

WOW...Do your research before buying through this site. Shortly after buying my ticket my cc information was stolen and someone tried to fraudulently purchase hundreds of dollars of goods in my name and address. I am horrified. Thankfully my bank stopped the criminal and I have figured out their location. I am connected to high authorities and if my flight does not go smoothly I will report this company immediately. I am suspicious that although I have paid for my ticket I don’t see my spot reserved or reflected on the airline database. This company should learn that dishonesty is a sure road to massive failure. Hopefully my flight goes well so Kiwi can earn a better review. UPDATE: I changed my review from 1 star (due to poor information security & lack of customer service communication) to 3 starts because my flight from CLE to MSP went smoothly and I paid a great price. However, in the future I will not make the mistake of purchasing via third party companies, & I urge you do purchase tickets directly from the airline for peace of mind.

I never write reviews but I felt compelled to write this to warn others. I booked through Kiwi last summer for a trip to Greece and thought it would save me a few dollars. Kiwi didn’t send me a booking confirmation and when I called they said they couldn’t find it in their system and therefore it was nonexistent. They gave me the assurance it was ok to rebook it. TWO weeks after the fact they sent me an email and said they found the original booking and couldn’t find it when I called due to an email typo! When I asked for a refund for the double booking they showed zero accountability and said there isn’t much they can refund since it was a nonrefundable flight! So now I’m stuck with an extra +$750 flight! That’s just not right. Also be warned, connections are super inconvenient esp in the UK since you have to go through security clearance and recheck bags AGAIN with tight layovers. It is not worth a few dollars you think you’re saving upfront for the added stress and a claims department that won’t help once they’ve taken your credit card info. Stay away!!

Hi, I used this app for a short trip. I would not use it again. The prices were ok but not Wow savings. The flights looked a little funky as there was a “connection” on the way back but it turns out even though it was the same airline we had to clear immigration in UK, recheck the bags and go thru security again - the flights are treated as separate. For the sake of convenience they check you in automatically to your flights. When I went to print my boarding pass a day before, to my horror I discovered I made a mistake when buying the ticket: I had misspelled my last name. A call to kiwi customer service did not help, I was supposed to scan my passport, email it to them and wait 48h for an answer to see if it was even possible to change the flight back, for a fee. For my first flight I was told I was on my own. I was lucky that Norwegian made the change for my first flight right away. I called Easyjet later and they did the return flights changes free of charge, no passport needed. I will not use this app again.
Slow customer service in case of urgent need

We were left to pay for a flight for a family of 5, after many problems with the airlines and last minutes changes of destinations. With an infant, a toddler and an older child, the Kiwi customer service was not able to understand the urgency of our situation and left us hanging (in another country in a city we didn’t know or had resources to help). We hoped on a flight after being assured by them that they will refund it and were left hanging when we did the claim. I would not use their service again. It is not worth paying a bit less and then not get any competent support in case you truly need it. I would rather pay more and get real help with customer service. Last but not least, they lied about making the refund. They said they had a confirmation number and whatsoever but we never got any refund in our account. So on top of being incompetent the fact that they lied about it made us feel terrible. The app was useless as we had to do everything over the phone or by email! Stay away from it!

Wish I could give them 0 stars. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, especially if you value your sanity. They angered and frustrated me so much I was left stranded crying in the airport overnight. My flight was delayed and I called them and they refused to change my connecting flight because they didn’t want the chance of even losing a few dollars. It is so frustrating to have the people on the phone flat out tell you they care more about the money than you ever getting home. After literally 8 phone calls to their customer service line - they still refused to help me at all - I ended up getting stranded in LA overnight. They promised to get me out of LA but the only flight options they sent me were 6 days late and to cities I was not going to. I wanted to be home so they said I could book my own flight the next morning and be refunded fully. They refunded me only 1/4 of the amount of my ticket. They are a scam that just wants your money and they do not care what happens to you. I will never use this service again - worst travel experience of my life.

When I first discovered kiwi I didn’t really have any issues I paid online I was able to make all of my flights there were no delays in flights I didn’t experience any issues from the complaints that I read but as I continue to use this app for my traveling I began to notice that I am encountering problems. On my last trip the airplane was was so delayed that I almost missed my flight and luckily they held it for me as I rushed like a bat out of hell trying to get through security to make it to my plane, Most recently when I went to book a flight, the summary which INCLUDED luggage showed me a price of $803 the next day i checked my bank statement and noticed they charged me $903 and separated the luggage fee which is NOT what i agreed to pay in the app when i was asked to confirm my payment which INCLUDED luggage!! Customer service had NO explanation. I’m done using this company before i start to experience problems worse than these.

Do not book through this company during the pandemic!!!!!! I booked a flight through this site. My flight was cancelled about 2 months before the departure date. I filed a claim to be refunded. They told me it could take up to 3 months to get the refund. It has been 5 months and still nothing. I had to call the airline myself to thing the refund started as Kiwi has not even made a phone call yet to the airlines..... The flight was cancelled so by law they need to give me a refund. It took them 24 hours to bill my credit card, however it is taking 5 months to credit me back. We are in a PANDEMIC Kiwi! People need their money back. The 800 number won’t take my booking number because they are “only dealing with flights in the near future at these times”...... what about the people that have been waiting months to talk to you?!!! Long story short they won’t help me get a refund and they don’t have a phone number to call... customer service is awful!

I feel terrible that I waited so long to do this review. ... sorry about that. These guys were amazing! I took a flight a year ago (!). The airline, though everything was in order, wouldn’t let me board with my service dog. And don’t argue with me - I found out from their mouths (customer service) that everything was in order. So I missed my flight. Dealing with the airline was no help. I was going to make a new reservation myself. But prices had skyrocketed since my original reservation. So I thought, why not call Kiwi? Maybe they can help. They not only got me a better set of (and shorter layovers) flights; but also dealt with the original airline! Completely above and beyond. And at the same, original price, with zero extra fees. It’s why I always try to use them. Love you guys ❤️!

Kiwi says they guarantee the delayed/missed connections. What they don’t say is they sell you a ticket looks like they are connected but actually they are separate. Airlines don’t take responsibility of the missed connections. Even though it was known that I would miss my connecting flight before getting on the plane, Kiwi would not reroute me. When I got to the connecting flight airport, there were no flights out of that city to my destination. Kiwi would take 2-4hours to make a decision when it was already 8pm and I had been traveling all day. When they came back they offered a longest trip possible and not even to the city I was flying (nearby city). Because I decided to book a different flight, they did not pay for the hotel and already paid hotel at my destination. They refunded the flight I missed but not the amount shown on the ticket. Each flight was priced separately on the ticket because they were not connected flights and from different carriers.
Helps find deals

This is a great app to use to help find deals, and routes using different airlines. The problem is when you book through them. They tell you that you will get your boarding pass sometime between 48hrs and 0hrs before you leave. That is a problem, especially if you are trying to plan ahead and print out your boarding passes. Also, adding luggage can be hard after you purchased the ticket. I still haven’t been able to figure out how to add luggage after a booking! The best way to use the app is to find a route, and then purchase the tickets yourself directly from discount airlines. Then it is effortless to add luggage, print our boarding passes etc... if it were easier to add luggage after booking, and to know exactly when you could expect to get your boarding passes, I would recommend it- even with the fees. But, so far my experience has been difficult. If things change I’ll update this post.

I want to INVITE everyone to DON'T use this platform because you can lose your TICKET and MONEY. On December 22, I bought a ticket that I had to cancel because the airport in the city of Madrid was closed due to meteorological issues and it would not be possible to reach my connection. When I tried to cancel my ticket, I didn't have the opportunity to contact the customer with any line, since for this type of situation I don't have technical support, I only received a message in the app saying that my money would be returned 30 days later. Until today, January 28, I’ve tried to communicate with an advisor but nobody answers neither my emails or my calls. Just as it can happen to me, it can happen to you. The question that arises from all this is whether Kiwi's purpose is for users to reach their final destination or to buy and not use their flights and to avoid responsibilities they do not have technical support or only have it if they buy insurance

I used Kiwi in the past without a glitch. Two months ago I ordered a ticket for Dec. 20th. It was confirmed and I was charged on my visa for the ticket. When I went back to the app. 2 days ago, there is no sign of the ticket I purchased. Trying to get ahold of customer service has been impossible. I hit a brick wall because without the booking # I couldn’t reach anyone. I finally put all zeros in for the booking number and finally got a response. 3 different People from the company have now emailed me asking for the same information. I was never sent an email as promised at time if purchase and now a week before my departure I have a bill and no ticket or info about the purchase. If you are planning to use this company, beware. I have now filed a dispute claim against them with the credit card company for a refund of my money. In the meantime I started at square one booking with another carrier for an extra $250. Please be careful.

Don’t waste your time installing this app. If you read all the reviews the 5 star reviews are all clearly written by the same person. Then install the app and nothing the reviews say is true. The all too often mentioned “UI” is awful! The capital of the great state of Texas isn’t even in the app. I searched several ways for Austin, TX and it “can not be found”! That’s borderline offensive. I did another round trip search for a different trip and found a great price, but when I selected the flight details the screen refreshed and the very same flight 2 seconds later increased $250! This is one of the shadiest apps I’ve ever installed and I want these last 30 minutes of my life back! Y’all should be ashamed and Apple should remove you from their AppStore! To your response absolutely not. You know your app is awful and all your reviews are fake. Fake reviews are enough to make me not ever want to deal with you people again

Stay away from Kiwi!! I tried getting my refund for a flight that did not guaranteed me seats. And this because I specifically told them that me and my husband are traveling with kids age 6 and 9 years old. All they did was sent us a link to buy our seats, after we bought the seats we still didn't get a choice to seat together. They told us that their team was working on getting us a seat. The back and forth with the customer service via email and phone are totally not worth it!! Better book directly through airlines and save yourself some stress and headache. We lost $2500 on a flight, and the only refund they could give us is $65. This is after the back and forth and lots of effort on our part. So be warned and avoid this company at all cost!! SCAMMERS!! Since we lost $2500- we are looking into a legal action with this company.

I’ve been planning a trip to visit my best friend on the other side of the world and all the other apps to claim to have the ‘cheapest flights available ‘ either went higher or were just the same copy/pasted flights with copy/pasted prices. I was bout to drop $900 on a flight till I found this app, going for $680 instead!?! That’s insanely cheaper and cuts half my expenses ! Not to mention the layovers for the flight are exceedingly shorter than the +13 hour layover the other competitors had!! So not only is it cheaper but also way shorter in comparison, more time for me to spend with my friend!! Highly recommend for penny pinchers or people in need of a genuinely good company to book with 😊

So far kiwi is 0 stars in my book. I updated this to 3 stars. I barely used the app. It didn’t help me any originally and I never went back to try again. I won’t go higher than 3 stars because of the original issues. It wouldn’t allow me to register my account, (so I can see my booking info on very concerned I paid for a flight and they took my money.) it was very stressful for me. I did learn from the airline this company didn’t provide my email address. They would have emailed me my ticket info and boarding pass. Had they given the airline my info - I would have had far less stress. This is my updated review. I started with 1 Star - because I was so upset about everything. This ticket was my return flight - I almost don’t go on my trip because of all this.
Lost $400 on under-24-hr cancellation

Kiwi lost me $400 on flights I should have been able to easily cancel on my own free of a cancellation charge within 24 hours of purchase. Kiwi has an extremely long cancellation response time - their terms literally say THIRTY DAYS. As a result, my travel plans to see my friend’s wedding are sunk. In the US, the Dep’t of Transportation recognizes that changed plans and human error occur often. Consequently, ANY FLIGHT can be cancelled without any charge within 24 hours. Unless you booked via Kiwi. I cancelled my flights after 20 hours and Kiwi failed to contact Delta in time! I knew this was a risk and that’s why I personally called Kiwi on their service line (that took 20 minutes of digging on their website to find) to attempt to accelerate the process. The customer service agent (who spoke English as a second language and struggled a bit) said he could do NOTHING to speed up the process. It was like watching a train crash in slow motion without being able to do anything about it. As I had feared, this morning (36 hours after my purchase) I got an email saying that a refund was unavailable from Delta. Of course it was! Because Kiwi took so long to contact Delta about it! There needs to be a way to perform the cancellation IMMEDIATELY.

I usually don’t write reviews but felt very strongly about my experience with Kiwi that I wanted to share how great they were. I usually book my own trips/flights however I took a chance with Kiwi and was blown away with the help I received whenever things looked like they would have gone wrong had I planned it. The whole team at Kiwi was personal and always helpful; they listened to my concerns whenever I had them and absolutely stood behind me whenever there was a problem which travel plans can throw at you. Overall, a pleasant experience and I look forward to working with them!

I have never downloaded a third party app and used it for flights but I had seen good reviews also I heard of it before. I booked a flight to LA on the southwest airline. Immediately upon arrival to the airport I was told my booking did not exist. I called kiwi and was told that they have been having issues with southwest. They mentioned that southwest would send confirmation numbers then turn around and cancel flights on their end (not sure how that works). Nonetheless I was told to see if I could buy a ticket and kiwi would refund me. However, due to COVID the flight was sold out. I was told that I would be refunded for my ticket. But today I received an email stating I would not be receiving a refund due to my name being doubled on the reservation. I have been in contact with them however I am placed on hold then the call disconnects. This is terrible customer service! won’t buy again.

Like many people this year I had a planned trip to Europe that was canceled due to the pandemic. Kiwi books you through various airlines on their own card, but charges your card directly with their agency. I was able to speak with customer service at Norwegian air and found out that they had already refunded my airfare directly to Kiwi. Unfortunately, with Kiwi, you are not allowed to speak to anyone over the phone apparently… All interactions go through either email or text messages through their website. It has been over seven months since I know that they received a refund from the airline, and they have still yet to refund anything to me. You’re better off booking everything directly with the airlines. Any bookings you make with this company, just beware that you are risking not getting any money back.

Booked my flight though this worthless company while ago. Found out that one of my flights in my upcoming trip was canceled by airline so I contacted Kiwi to find out what can we do they told me that second flight was not canceled thou? Lol. And when I asked how am I supposed to get to that flight all they told me that they will look into it. So long story short I proceeded to request refund one month before our flight was supposed to happen. They gave me 3 options. 1 wait for refund for 3 months, 2 pay them extra money to get expedited refund 3 they offered credit to their website for $120 even thou I spent $2200 lol again. This company is a joke it has been 3 months and have not received any refund or any contact from them. I would never use this company again and strongly suggest not to use them because they will rip you off.

I purchased airline tickets 36 days in advance. The day prior to departure I was told the flight was “not available” After 10 hrs and 8 phone calls, to customer service, being placed on hold numerous times, with service agents in the back ground of phone call sounding like they were at a party, laughing and carrying on, I was told that I could expect at refund via PayPal within 24hrs. I have yet to see refund. Refund is on hold for up to 21 days. This is a poor way to do businesses. I was told many times that I would receive an email back within 2-4 hrs only to have to reach out again to explain issue to new agent. I requested the financial department hoping to solve this issue directly. I was told there was “no line to and or way to reach them.” Very disappointed! Will never book again and I will share this experience with my friends and family.

How could you? There are millions of people around the world giving free services and support to people right now. And you are changing policies at the minute. Stealing money from people. And purposefully not offering options. There’s a man running laps for charity in his backyard at the age of 85. There are communities sewing masks because they want people to live. Bootstrapped companies giving services and technology away because they care. About humanity. There are companies and families struggling to survive with no healthcare. And you’re not only not even letting people CHANGE travel and give you money down the road. You’re charging fees on top of the new policies. You’re just taking. You’re just turning off the option. I’ve traveled all over the world because of these people and this app. It takes a lot of people run something that is valuable for anyone who like to travel without paying top dollar. I’ve had many situations where I needed their help, and they’ve always been good about keeping their word and guarantee. I love these guys and I hope they continue to keep up with the same level of support they’ve always shown me.

Never trust a company that asks you to buy customer service That was my first warning sign. Booking a flight to Europe on a scheduled, regular airline, kiwi asks if I want basic, plus (+$5) or premium (+$10) customer service. I chose basic. Once they issued my “ticket” I saw it didn’t have a standard 13 digit eticket number, or a 6 character record locator. This is a business trip, so I can’t risk an issue. I called Kiwi to ask for those necessary numbers. That record locator is critical for any issues with the airline. ALL THREE people I spoke to asked why I would #1, want to talk to the airline at all, and #2, need those numbers. When the supervisor told me that my record locator would be given to me the day of the flight, I lost it and insisted they cancel my ticket and refund the cost. There’s too much patronizing secrecy/control games for me to trust them. US law requires Airlines to refund if you cancel within 24 hrs of booking. Kiwi did process the refund but said I could expect 30 days for their “finance department” to process the refund, and did not guarantee I’d get anything. Do yourself a huge favor and never go near these shady folks. The only Kiwi is the voice on the phone system. Czech company, Indian customer service agents.

So usually, you can check in to your flight 24 hours before it departs, right? Not on this app. On my boarding pass screen in the app, it said that check in would be available a day before my flight, as usual. However, when I went to check in, the same message was there even though it was after I should have been able to. Looked again throughout the day, and I finally got a new message that said online check in was no longer available. I left on the 30th, so I should have been able to check in on the 29th. However, the message I got said that online check in was only available until the 27th, which was not the case. Apparently, you just can’t check in online with this service, and in this day and age, that’s ridiculous.
Honeymoon/ COVID 19

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Spain, mid March and was cut short due to Covid -19. We were there for only 2 days and had no choice but to return home to the US and not travel to the rest of our destinations. I tried reaching out to kiwi about our flights and never could get through to customer service to see if they would be able to give us a voucher or refund us. I was only given an automated option to go online and cancel the flight. When I checked they would refund $1 and some change and that’s all. I spent at least $1000 purchasing our original flights through kiwi, very disappointing. Very poor service. At least BA gave us a voucher for a flight we had booked through using their website. Do not use KIWI website, book directly with the airlines you are flying with.

I needed to get to India and kiwi booked two separate tickets (instead of one ticket) forcing me to buy/get transit visa. It wasn't clear at the get go that is what was happening, and I am wondering whether they don't disclose that clearly to show better prices ( because that is very inconvenient, and if you miss one flight you lose the other ). They also upsold a service for rebooking a given ticket for extra 150$ , but when I tried to do that, all the itineraries they showed me not at all comparable and significantly worser. When I called the customer service , they wouldn't refund my ticket nor could they find a comparable itinerary ( which they said they will look into, after 2 days they come back with nothing )

I had the worst booking experience ever with this app. They advertise an itinerary as a single itinerary with one or two connecting stops while in fact they book you 2-3 different independent itineraries that you have to collect your luggage after each one! Even worse, they blatantly lie about it by calling it “self transfer!” Of course, you find out about all of that BS after you’ve non-refundably paid for the trip! Also, they advertise a trip with certain airlines and later on after you’ve booked and paid for it, they change the airlines without any notice to you! Their customer service is also just as crappy 🤦🏻‍♂️ I have learned my lesson the hard way unfortunately and my advice to anyone is not to book any trips through this fraudulent site. I an sticking to priceline from now on.

I booked a trip through this service prior to covid and unfortunately my boyfriend and I were unable to go since the airlines canceled the trip. Kiwi initially made me pay to get assistance with a refund and has not communicated with me in a consistent manner on when we can expect our refund. We continue to get generic emails 5 months later telling us that there is a delay in refunding our trip due to the airlines giving them the money for the refund. I will never book through Kiwi again and i am in the process of filing complaints with the better business bureau, ripoff report, and other avenues. Yes the flights are cheap but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case we paid to get ripped off. Just pretend this company is like covid-19 and keep your distance.

We booked our flights and right as we get to the airport it says our flight got rescheduled, we never received an email from Kiwi saying the adjustment. We booked 2 flights in a package and since the first flight got pushed forward a couple hours we missed our second flight. Guess what Kiwi did to help us out. Nothing. They only gave us alternative flights that cost more than both flights combined or a refund that will give money back guarantee... in 30 days!? Kiwi is not up to date with the airlines at all. Do not book your flight on this app i promise you it will cause you trouble. Imagine missing your flight, not knowing if you will go home or you're stuck in a different state or country. Unreliable, stressful, and they don’t even provide a Spanish translator.

Used app first time and it was stated that for both of the flights that I’ve purchased from kiwi there will be a free check in in the airport and currently they cannot check me in online. When I have already arrived for my first flight the check in desk told me that I have to pay 18€ check in fee. They are charging it since 1st of September and my flight was on 24th. Contacted help-desk regarding the refund and they were also surprised about check in fee but can’t guarantee the 100% refund of the fee. Just a suggestion-always use the real website of the airline as the info on the kiwi might be wrong and outdated as in my case. Update: 3 months have passed since this review and nothing changed and no one contacted me regarding my issue

Changed my itinerary, didn’t offer any refund because it was the airlines fault. You can’t go direct to airline either. The Kiwi guarantee is a joke. Should’ve known you get what you pay for. Book direct, or at your own risk. You might get stuck somewhere. It took forever to get ahold of customer support. (+3hrs) Took my $ and didn’t offer me any service. They completely changed the day/time of one of my flights which would’ve messed up the connection so essentially I wouldn’t have gotten home. Kiwi couldn’t care less, not their fault. If you aren’t going to take ownership of peoples routes and ensure you get from point A to point B, what are you doing? Maybe use this as a search engine but I would go to the airline so if something happens you can actually get help.

I was unable to contact customer service for about a month. When I finally did, one person said I would not receive a refund for my canceled trip due to COVID-19. I asked to speak to another employee and they said I would receive a refund within 3 weeks. It has been over two months and I haven’t heard anything. I purchased travel insurance, but nobody from customer service knew how to file a claim. They said “You have to go through the website.” I’ve looked through the website and I am unable to file my claim. I bought a $500 plane ticket and bought travel insurance on top of that. I have not received any refund back, and I am not sure if I ever will. I will never book through Kiwi again if I do not receive a refund soon. Disgusting.

Loved getting the good prices on here and the app is nice. My biggest complaint was a flight change situation. I accidentally booked the wrong day to Venice. I called, which wasn’t too painful, and requested the flight be changed to the next day and time changed from 7:00am to 12:40pm. They changed my flight and charged me something like $60. Not too bad at all. I get my new flight, and it’s again at 7am. I called again to make the correct change, and they said it was going to have to be another change for a fee and wanted like $150. Even though THEY messed up the time, they wouldn’t change it without me paying, AGAIN. Ridiculous.

I don’t advise anyone here to buy tickets, these scammers did not return my money back to me, because of the coronavirus the whole world all companies for canceled flights all return money back for tickets that were canceled, Of my $ 700, they returned me only 100 and to get these $ 100 I have to wait another two weeks, When we called, the girl answered apparently she was sleeping at that time she had incomprehensible English, she didn’t understand us, we didn’t understand her, These people who work here are not professional workers, Incredibly stupid, They do not even know what to answer. I’m disappointed I don’t advise anyone to buy tickets, it's better on $100 $200 is more expensive but buying from the company itself.

For the love of god do not book a trip with these people. First they booked my flight to Israel through Cairo, which was a very stressful experience to say the least. Then they booked a flight to Boston from London through Lisbon except that instead of just connecting me I would have had to clear customs, collect bags, then clear customs and recheck bags in Lisbon, all in two hours. And I would have needed a tourist visa for Portugal, of course. None of these requirements were disclosed in my ticket though, which meant that I had to buy a 700 dollar flight to Boston from London the day of. I was refunded a whopping 24 dollars for the taxes on the unused flights. Such a traumatising experience. Please do not support these unethical if not illegal business practices. I legitimately would sue were I not in college.

Worst travel company I have ever seen and will NEVER use them again. I had to deal with multiple companies making cancellations due to medical emergency and COVID and none of the others gave me nearly the headache Kiwi has. It’s been 6 months since I applied for a refund. They didn’t bother to cancel with the airlines before our flight, despite the fact I notified Kiwi of the cancellation 3 weeks before the flight. I finally reached the airline directly, paid them an additional $140 due to Kiwi’s incompetence, and STILL Kiwi hasn’t issued a refund or a denial letter. Their policy is refund decisions within 30 days. Then they said it could be 90 days. Then they admitted it may actually be more than a year, and the answer could still be “no refund.” Just awful.

I previously was a fan of this company and had bought tickets through kiwi at least a dozen times before I had a bad experience. Then I purchased a refundable, changeable ticket, which I paid a lot extra for. I rebooked the ticket and the difference in the price that it said i would be charged was less than I was actually charged. I was charged an extra $160 for the new flight and when I contact customer service they gave me the run around for months and in the end did absolutely nothing. They just kept making excuses and never refunded the amount that they overcharged me. Do not waste your money on these crooks! Kiwi is a big scam and I will tell every person I know not to use this company!!!!!

At a connection in a foreign country the airline refused to honor the ticket purchased through kiwi. Stranded in a foreign country, kiwi’s support requested more money than the original ticket to resolve. Being held hostage kiwi’s hostage demands were met. It did not resolve the problem. Then kiwi says you need to purchase a ticket there at the counter. Of course the prices for last minute tickets are outrageous and not affordable. Currently have been stranded by kiwi at the airport going on 3 days. This seems criminal to me!!! I will begin writing airlines about this horrible service where these people sell tickets without knowledge of the airlines policies. Then charge customers an exorbitant fee while they are stranded half way through their trip in a foreign country! THIS PRACTICE SHOULD BE A CRIME!

I was scheduled to fly out of Italy on the day a national airline workers strike was scheduled to take place. Kiwi got me a hotel in Rome, and rescheduled my flight free of charge. In fact, they did this when they didn’t have to. I scheduled the flight without checking if a strike was going to take place, even though Kiwi warned me that this may happen. They told me they might not be able to help if I scheduled on one of these dates, but they went above and beyond the terms of service and helped me anyway.

Recently I had a situation when thr flight from Tortola to San Juan was delayed and thus I missed all my further flights. The guys at the check-in stand said that they could do nothing as my flights had been booked in different airlines. I made only one phone call to Kiwi service and everything was arranged in 10-15 minutes!!! They made something really incredible!!! Thank you!!! Feel sorry, that I was so happy that completely forgot the name of a girl who received my call that day

I read a LOT of reviews about this company on google and honestly i was TERRIFIED when I booked. I thought I was scammed and they took my money but everything worked out very smoothly and normally for me. I arrived to the airports on time and was able to get my boarding pass from the app itself and was able to check in that way as well. Let ME be a living example that this company is legit and the apps UI is super smooth! I definitely will book with kiwi again I’m a happy traveler.

The app does absolutely nothing to help with the travel process. Myself and many others(from online reviews and word of mouth) have been surprised that when you get to your connecting flight it turns out to be at a different airport and you end up paying more to get there and deal with much more stress than you would have going one way. The reviews on the app must have been paid for because if you do a little research online it doesn’t take much to find out this “service” is a scam. Also trying to get connected with their customer service is a strenuous process and overall a greater waste of time then helpful. I am warning all against booking with this app.

Their customer support was useless and made it impossible to get my refund. They are a greedy and cold hearted company and it’s really upsetting that they show no sympathy or even care for oversees travel during this pandemic. I bought my tickets back in October and am now expected to not receive my refund at the end of March. They said, “well you can travel there and we’ll find a way to get you home.” So when I don’t find a way home because US has shut down traveling from the UK and Europe I’m supposed to deal with the consequences instead of just helping me stay safe and cancelling my trip I paid with my hard labor. Cruel people. I could use that money to not get evicted from my home.

Since day 1 I’ve had problems with Kiwi. I schedule a booking with my email and all, and every time I turn the page it prompts me to “sign in” and “make a booking” when I clearly have a booking number/account. It’s like it doesn’t want to acknowledge I spent hundreds of dollars, and now I’m being punished for involuntarily having to cancel/refund my trip. What kind of joke is this? If I didn’t use ANY of the services, why shouldn’t I get a FULL refund? How does this make sense? So, I’ve just been scammed out of $600+ dollars, can’t get all of my refund back even though I didn’t even leave my couch! Kiwi is an absolute joke. Awful customer service. Terrible, but Kiwi doesn’t care as long as they get paid!

This app sends promotional (spam) notifications, and there’s no way to disable that without turning off all notifications that I see. How very disrespectful of them. They also make it very hard to find help for these kinds of issues without signing up for an account with them. I didn’t need an account to buy tickets but I need an account to find out how to disable their spam notifications? Instead it’s better to just use their website when needed.

If I could give a zero star I would. Never been the one to leave a dishonest review. But man, what a time it’s been with kiwi. Makes me more sad than mad to be honest. It’s been about 9 months with no refund of over 500 dollars and I just don’t get it. Tried calling, emails, reaching out to my bank. Nothing works.

They’re kiwi guarantee is a complete scam. Booked a flight last year during quarantine (obviously couldn’t go) still waiting for my 2000$ ticket to be refunded or even changed into a new ticket but the customer service is intolerable and the purpose of the “guarantee” allows them to indefinitely take your money legally. Please report and tell everyone you know to avoid this app/website/service.

I booked my trip in January 2020 to Spain for my son’s soccer tournament in August 2020. And as we now Covid-19 hit us in March and many flights were cancelled, country borders were closed. Of course tournament got canceled. I file refund with Kiwi, because even if I wanted to go to Spain, country was closed and as we know Spain and Italy were hot spot for Covid 19. I am nurse and I am working with Covid patients since pandemic started. Kiwi, was just “ brushing me off” regarding my request for refund. Finally in October 2020 they send me confirmation that in 10 business days money will be back in bank. Unfortunately it was not try. Money never reached the account . Then I filed dispute with Citi bank and they decided that it is my responsibility and money we’re returned back to Kiwi. Now Kiwi, refusing to give me back my money and every time I send them email I will get always different answers and explanations. No phone number, they would not let me talk to manager or finance department. They just keep feeding me with words ( meaningless)Now they are blaming me for opening dispute and they don’t want acknowledge that they failed to deposit my refund in the first place. I am still working on this case, will be calling Citi bank and BBB to help me resolve this situation. All I would like to say, please do not buy anything from them . They don’t care about customers. I am pretty sure if anybody was in my situation like this will understand how I feel. I am really working hard during this time. It is going to be year since Covid started. How many people got effected with that. I had to isolate myself from my own family to make sure everyone is safe. A lot people and small businesses were supporting us , but Kiwi doesn’t care. Since day 1 I’ve had problems with Kiwi. I schedule a booking with my email and all, and every time I turn the page it prompts me to “sign in” and “make a booking” when I clearly have a booking number/account. It’s like it doesn’t want to acknowledge I spent hundreds of dollars, and now I’m being punished for involuntarily having to cancel/refund my trip. What kind of joke is this? If I didn’t use ANY of the services, why shouldn’t I get a FULL refund? How does this make sense? So, I’ve just been scammed out of $600+ dollars, can’t get all of my refund back even though I didn’t even leave my couch! Kiwi is an absolute joke. Awful customer service. Terrible, but Kiwi doesn’t care as long as they get paid!

Kiwi.com is fine overall but the app needed a major overhaul. It not being able to attend information is tiresome and also an extra unneeded hassle. There should a simpler way to sign in account and signing in. The fluctuating prices as flights are being selected also became burdensome.

It took me over 2.5 days to get home with travel I unfortunately used Kiwi to book. When I was stranded trying to make arrangements, the app only showed connections in another city. I contacted customer service and they responded two days later, after I had already arrived home! There is no refund for your time or money they wasted - avoid this app! Update 2/24/21 - I followed up with Kiwi as prompted by the developer response here and there is no additional resolution or refund for my situation. Avoid Kiwi and avoid hassles and poor customer service!

The cancellation policy was incredibly unclear and as i stated my case to even the person in charge- they did not care for how much reason i had in my argument, they simply said no to a refund or future credit. Now, the airline changed something so on these grounds i guess i could apply for a refund. but guess what??? Unfortunately, I did not do research into Kiwi.com before purchasing tickets to Iceland in 2020. The tickets were fully refundable, but Kiwi maintains they have never received a refund. I got through to people at Iceland Air who were able to provide me proof via email that they refunded my tickets. I had the dates, transaction numbers, value, etc. Kiwi had insisted they needed all of this to track down my refund. Ten days later, and after asking again, they claim the refund department still can’t find the refund and I should wait. I’ll give them this - their call/email center in the Czech Republic is certainly responsive. They just send you various lies whenever you contact them. There is no phone number to get ahold of somebody. I’m out of luck, and if you google this company you will find thousands of similar reviews. Do not use this company. I am trying to find a way to report to Apple that this company is a bunch of scam artists. Their app needs to be removed from the App Store.

Since the coronavirus travel restrictions my flights got canceled very quickly and I applied for my refund. The airline emailed me saying I was confirmed for the refund and it was up to my travel agency to deliver it to me. I was in contact with kiwi for months and to this day almost a year later they still haven’t got my refund to me. I’ve been very disappointed with how I’ve been strung along and told to have patience when this long of a wait is beyond what should be normal and acceptable.

Like many people this year I had a planned trip to Europe that was canceled due to the pandemic. Kiwi books you through various airlines on their own card, but charges your card directly with their agency. I was able to speak with customer service at Norwegian air and found out that they had already refunded my airfare directly to Kiwi. Unfortunately, with Kiwi, you are not allowed to speak to anyone over the phone apparently… All interactions go through either email or text messages through their website. It has been over seven months since I know that they received a refund from the airline, and they have still yet to refund anything to me. You’re better off booking everything directly with the airlines. Any bookings you make with this company, just beware that you are risking not getting any money back.

I had a roundtrip flight to Thailand in March. I had to fly hoke early being afraid of lockdown and thinking I might get locked out of coming back to the us. I rebooked a flight and canceled mine. They said it would be 3 months. We are now at 9 months and every month contact them and same old excuse. It’ll come soon. Don’t trust them snd don’t book with them. Booked my flight two weeks in advance and one week before my flight, changes were made to my flight schedule. I called the customer service number 9x and no one was able to help me. I decided to pay for the alternative flight instead which was $128 but their website for some reason won’t let me, I checked with my bank and that wasn’t the problem. When I request for a refund, I was only refunded $34 out of the $165 I paid originally for the flight. DO NOT USE KIWI, it’s a scam!‼️

I had a planned trip to Europe from the US at the beginning of the summer 2020. Obviously it was a hard time for all travel. I anticipated the cancellations of my flights to get to Europe (which I think most if not all were cancelled before they happened) and so I paid the 30$ dollars or so for the “Assisted Refund” option that Kiwi promotes. I assumed that since all my flights to get to Europe had been cancelled, Kiwi would be able to get me some kind of refund for my flights back from Europe (which were 3 months out) and for the flights that were cancelled to get there. It has now been 9 months since I paid Kiwi to assist in the refund process, and I have not gotten so much as a message to say they are working on it or waiting. On their refund page it says “refunds can take up to 3 months” and now it has been triple that with no end in sight. I have not received a penny back, not even for the cancelled flights. If I had received at least a message, an email, or even a phone call explaining that they were working on my refund that I paid them to work on, then I would not be as frustrated. 9 months later, I am still bitter, and not a peep out of Kiwi. Several months ago I tried to get the refunds myself from the different airlines, I believe I got 1 voucher for 1 of my 6 flights(it was from TAP Portugal which is basically only good in Portugal, so it was fruitless), and because Kiwi booked several of the others with some obscure email that I do not know, I was not able to complete the process. I will NEVER book flights through Kiwi ever again and you shouldn’t either. I have a sour taste in my mouth for travel companies now. I think their app is a great resource to find cheap flights, and then once you find them, you should go to the airlines website to actually book the flights on your own. This way you can directly contact the airlines if anything were to happen. You know all the info, and there is no obscurity.

Used app first time and it was stated that for both of the flights that I’ve purchased from kiwi there will be a free check in in the airport and currently they cannot check me in online. When I have already arrived for my first flight the check in desk told me that I have to pay 18€ check in fee. They are charging it since 1st of September and my flight was on 24th. Contacted help-desk regarding the refund and they were also surprised about check in fee but can’t guarantee the 100% refund of the fee. Just a suggestion-always use the real website of the airline as the info on the kiwi might be wrong and outdated as in my case. Update: 3 months have passed since this review and nothing changed and no one contacted me regarding my issue

Even I paid specifically 300 USD extra to get refunded. They use the pandemic as a cover (research in the internet, you will realize). By know probably made millions. Do not purchase through kiwi they will not even respond if you have issues. My flight was canceled due to Covid 6 months ago and after months I received an email that says “ We’re pleased to inform you that we’ve sent you a partial refund of 22.1 USD via your original payment method” Yet, I have not received anything. I have been assured that I will receive my full refund, still nothing. Their responses are generic and clam they are waiting on the airline. Hawaiian airlines claim they have no problem reminding me but it must go through kiwi since they were the agent. This is ridiculous and I feel kiwi has wronged me. All other places I had flights through issued a full refund within a month. I am very disappointed in my decision to book with kiwi.com

They changed our ticket to a 6 hour layover right after they sold it to us AND charged us $200 more dollars for the crap flight. They said they would fix it. NOTHING. They are arguing that we didn’t buy their extra services. WE LITERALLY BOUGHT A TICKET AND THEY IMMEDIATELY CHANGED THE TICKET AND SAID WE HAD TO PAY $200 more with WITH A 6 hour LAYOVER. I am very unhappy with the way they treat their costumers. It took them 24 hours to bill my credit card, however it is taking 5 months to credit me back. We are in a PANDEMIC Kiwi! People need their money back. The 800 number won’t take my booking number because they are “only dealing with flights in the near future at these times”...... what about the people that have been waiting months to talk to you?!!! I understand there is a pandemic going on, but my flight to England was cancelled back in March (we were supposed to travel in May) and I contacted the airline directly who issued a refund promptly. However, they had to issue refund back to kiwi as that was who I had booked through. Despite multiple calls and emails I have yet to get a refund. Not to mention now I can no longer get through to anyone on the phone. I’m automatically disconnected. Highly advise against ever using this company.

You will have no customer service with them, they will take DAYS to reply to your messages. When you call they will say they can’t help with your situation and try to convince you to buy another ticket when you already bought a ticket and expect you to just wait 3 months for a refund. Kiwi is the process of refunding our money for our flight from NY to Paris and back. A flight that we asked them to refund in early April due to COVID. We confirmed that our carrier refunded them the money. Have received a phone call and things are happening.

The kiwi.com guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. If you are unfortunate enough to have booked with this outfit and get an airline schedule change you will not be covered as kiwi will hide behind a made-up word in the small print.. you options will be to pay them extra money to accept a huge detour in the wrong direction selected by their algorithm, or to accept their zero dollar refund. You can pay them an extra $11 to speak with a robot that is equally as helpful.. Cleverly situated in Eastern Europe, they are out of reach of US & UK trading standards otherwise they would be shut down.. As it’s an algorithm you are dealing with, it doesn’t bother to check with the airlines for suitable alternatives so my advice is to contact the airline direct who will be much more helpful in resolving any issues.

They never refunded me even after paying for insurance an “expedited refund fee” of 20€. Then they changed my flight schedule and asked me to pay double what the original ticket was. Terrible outsourced customer service. Please stay away from this scam service.

Flights cancelled in March for April flight. Paid for assisted refund and still had waiting for carrier. One airline refunded in July but no sign of partial refund even though the baggage element (which I had paid for directly with airline) had been received back to card. Kiwi flight element paid back to Kiwi but yet to receive the partial refund and no reply to my emails to them. Impossible to get through on phone. STAY AWAY!

I was unable to contact customer service for about a month. When I finally did, one person said I would not receive a refund for my canceled trip due to COVID-19. I asked to speak to another employee and they said I would receive a refund within 3 weeks. It has been over two months and I haven’t heard anything. I purchased travel insurance, but nobody from customer service knew how to file a claim. They said “You have to go through the website.” I’ve looked through the website and I am unable to file my claim. I bought a $500 plane ticket and bought travel insurance on top of that. I have not received any refund back, and I am not sure if I ever will. I will never book through Kiwi again if I do not receive a refund soon. Disgusting.

They blame everything on covid but despite covid, sites like Travelocity or Expedia have had way better customer experience over the same time period. I booked a flight Pre-Covid—the end of 2019. The airline cancelled it in the spring. That was fine. What is not fine is that it is mid-September, and I still have no refund or voucher and the only time they contact me is after I contact them. I realize the Covid situation is unusual. But I am perfectly happy w a voucher. I’m starting to feel as if my money has just been stolen, and they (Kiwi and the airlines) are hoping I will forget about it. I have been patient. I have not bashed the company anywhere. I know these are unusual times. But my patience is at an end.

Booked my flight though this worthless company while ago. Found out that one of my flights in my upcoming trip was canceled by airline so I contacted Kiwi to find out what can we do they told me that second flight was not canceled thou? Lol. And when I asked how am I supposed to get to that flight all they told me that they will look into it. So long story short I proceeded to request refund one month before our flight was supposed to happen. They gave me 3 options. 1 wait for refund for 3 months, 2 pay them extra money to get expedited refund 3 they offered credit to their website for $120 even thou I spent $2200 lol again. This company is a joke it has been 3 months and have not received any refund or any contact from them. I would never use this company again and strongly suggest not to use them because they will rip you off.

I have waited 3 months and it’s about to be 4 and still no sign of refund when i paid extra for priority. Priority refunds are supposed to come in 6 weeks. They say they are waiting for the carriers but on the carrier’s website they say they are willing to corporate and says to talk to your third party app. I did not spend more than a thousand to get nothing back. I do not recommend to book through this app. The fact that for instant refund i would only get around a hundred dollars back... When I talk to customer service, all they do is repeat the same thing that they are waiting for the carriers and it’s frustrating.

I’m currently stuck at Paris Airport while I write this because of kiwi.com I got suckered into their low price and booked a flight (actually a series of flights) through them to get to Egypt. Long story short, they WILL not honor their “guarantee”, they won’t help you out in a pickle, and they’re operating out of a garage. Very unprofessional. Pay a little bit more. DONT GET STUCK in a foreign airport like I am right now. DO NOT USE KIWI!

I booked a trip from London to Puerto Rico. It was to be two stops. A week after booked, two months before the trip, one of the stops was delayed and and later another stop was cancelled. I called to hear what options they could provide and they basically said to buy another trip and ask for refund. When I COULD call, they never gave me details of how the refund process was going. Now I can’t call because the number is reserved for upcoming trips and mine has passed. DON’T USE KIWI!

Spent $1,440 USD on flights through Kiwi.com; in addition to flights being canceled, we were banned from traveling to/through Europe so we requested a refund. Kiwi said it would take 90 days to refund and on the 90th day, Kiwi sent a “partial” refund of $11.24 USD ($0.12/day USD). I strongly suggest booking directly with the airline next time and take a hard pass on Kiwi. With the way Kiwi.com handled our situation, I can’t imagine they’ll be in business much longer.

I highly recommend Kiwi for all flight purchases! They always find the cheapest flights for you and their app is easy to use. Constantly sending you updates about your flights and any other information you need to know. I would never book a flight from another website.

The pricing is great & so accessible. My complaint is it’s a little difficult to navigate the information. They send a TON of invites to add to your google calendar with weird times that you’re not even scheduled for. They’re also not terribly clear on what your schedule is in general. I got an email the day prior that I had a flight on Frontier from San Diego to San Antonio & then back. But my flight was Virgin from San Francisco to San Diego then Frontier back to San Antonio. I tried to email costumer support but only got a reply that I need to check in to Frontier even though the flight wasn’t Frontier. I only assumed it might be Virgin & was right. The app has awesome potential to be great. It’s just very glitchy & difficult to understand at this point.

With the recent travel restrictions imposed by the US due to coronavirus concerns, I was, at the time of my calling Kiwi, unable to make the trip. Since then restrictions were changed, but during my phone call I discovered that Kiwi will not budge on refunds even when there is a global crisis that prevents thousands from traveling. In my past experiences, airlines are usually able to make some kind of compensation for the trouble. I had a saver ticket, which I thought would be fine if I weren't making changes for personal reasons, but extenuating circumstances would be handled differently. Not the case here. That said, when everything goes well, Kiwi has fantastic, responsive customer service. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was incredibly polite, and had clear and concise explanations, which I can appreciate even if they frustrate me. Even during the crisis, hold periods were quite short. I’m disappointed that their dedication to the customer experience doesn’t translate to actual measures taken to do the right thing in a global time of need. If it weren’t for my experience trying to explain to them that a global illness should be a fine reason for a partial refund at the very least.

WOW...Do your research before buying through this site. Shortly after buying my ticket my cc information was stolen and someone tried to fraudulently purchase hundreds of dollars of goods in my name and address. I am horrified. Thankfully my bank stopped the criminal and I have figured out their location. I am connected to high authorities and if my flight does not go smoothly I will report this company immediately. I am suspicious that although I have paid for my ticket I don’t see my spot reserved or reflected on the airline database. This company should learn that dishonesty is a sure road to massive failure. Hopefully my flight goes well so Kiwi can earn a better review. UPDATE: I changed my review from 1 star (due to poor information security & lack of customer service communication) to 3 starts because my flight from CLE to MSP went smoothly and I paid a great price. However, in the future I will not make the mistake of purchasing via third party companies, & I urge you do purchase tickets directly from the airline for peace of mind.

I never write reviews but I felt compelled to write this to warn others. I booked through Kiwi last summer for a trip to Greece and thought it would save me a few dollars. Kiwi didn’t send me a booking confirmation and when I called they said they couldn’t find it in their system and therefore it was nonexistent. They gave me the assurance it was ok to rebook it. TWO weeks after the fact they sent me an email and said they found the original booking and couldn’t find it when I called due to an email typo! When I asked for a refund for the double booking they showed zero accountability and said there isn’t much they can refund since it was a nonrefundable flight! So now I’m stuck with an extra +$750 flight! That’s just not right. Also be warned, connections are super inconvenient esp in the UK since you have to go through security clearance and recheck bags AGAIN with tight layovers. It is not worth a few dollars you think you’re saving upfront for the added stress and a claims department that won’t help once they’ve taken your credit card info. Stay away!!

Hi, I used this app for a short trip. I would not use it again. The prices were ok but not Wow savings. The flights looked a little funky as there was a “connection” on the way back but it turns out even though it was the same airline we had to clear immigration in UK, recheck the bags and go thru security again - the flights are treated as separate. For the sake of convenience they check you in automatically to your flights. When I went to print my boarding pass a day before, to my horror I discovered I made a mistake when buying the ticket: I had misspelled my last name. A call to kiwi customer service did not help, I was supposed to scan my passport, email it to them and wait 48h for an answer to see if it was even possible to change the flight back, for a fee. For my first flight I was told I was on my own. I was lucky that Norwegian made the change for my first flight right away. I called Easyjet later and they did the return flights changes free of charge, no passport needed. I will not use this app again.

We were left to pay for a flight for a family of 5, after many problems with the airlines and last minutes changes of destinations. With an infant, a toddler and an older child, the Kiwi customer service was not able to understand the urgency of our situation and left us hanging (in another country in a city we didn’t know or had resources to help). We hoped on a flight after being assured by them that they will refund it and were left hanging when we did the claim. I would not use their service again. It is not worth paying a bit less and then not get any competent support in case you truly need it. I would rather pay more and get real help with customer service. Last but not least, they lied about making the refund. They said they had a confirmation number and whatsoever but we never got any refund in our account. So on top of being incompetent the fact that they lied about it made us feel terrible. The app was useless as we had to do everything over the phone or by email! Stay away from it!

Wish I could give them 0 stars. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, especially if you value your sanity. They angered and frustrated me so much I was left stranded crying in the airport overnight. My flight was delayed and I called them and they refused to change my connecting flight because they didn’t want the chance of even losing a few dollars. It is so frustrating to have the people on the phone flat out tell you they care more about the money than you ever getting home. After literally 8 phone calls to their customer service line - they still refused to help me at all - I ended up getting stranded in LA overnight. They promised to get me out of LA but the only flight options they sent me were 6 days late and to cities I was not going to. I wanted to be home so they said I could book my own flight the next morning and be refunded fully. They refunded me only 1/4 of the amount of my ticket. They are a scam that just wants your money and they do not care what happens to you. I will never use this service again - worst travel experience of my life.

When I first discovered kiwi I didn’t really have any issues I paid online I was able to make all of my flights there were no delays in flights I didn’t experience any issues from the complaints that I read but as I continue to use this app for my traveling I began to notice that I am encountering problems. On my last trip the airplane was was so delayed that I almost missed my flight and luckily they held it for me as I rushed like a bat out of hell trying to get through security to make it to my plane, Most recently when I went to book a flight, the summary which INCLUDED luggage showed me a price of $803 the next day i checked my bank statement and noticed they charged me $903 and separated the luggage fee which is NOT what i agreed to pay in the app when i was asked to confirm my payment which INCLUDED luggage!! Customer service had NO explanation. I’m done using this company before i start to experience problems worse than these.

Do not book through this company during the pandemic!!!!!! I booked a flight through this site. My flight was cancelled about 2 months before the departure date. I filed a claim to be refunded. They told me it could take up to 3 months to get the refund. It has been 5 months and still nothing. I had to call the airline myself to thing the refund started as Kiwi has not even made a phone call yet to the airlines..... The flight was cancelled so by law they need to give me a refund. It took them 24 hours to bill my credit card, however it is taking 5 months to credit me back. We are in a PANDEMIC Kiwi! People need their money back. The 800 number won’t take my booking number because they are “only dealing with flights in the near future at these times”...... what about the people that have been waiting months to talk to you?!!! Long story short they won’t help me get a refund and they don’t have a phone number to call... customer service is awful!

I feel terrible that I waited so long to do this review. ... sorry about that. These guys were amazing! I took a flight a year ago (!). The airline, though everything was in order, wouldn’t let me board with my service dog. And don’t argue with me - I found out from their mouths (customer service) that everything was in order. So I missed my flight. Dealing with the airline was no help. I was going to make a new reservation myself. But prices had skyrocketed since my original reservation. So I thought, why not call Kiwi? Maybe they can help. They not only got me a better set of (and shorter layovers) flights; but also dealt with the original airline! Completely above and beyond. And at the same, original price, with zero extra fees. It’s why I always try to use them. Love you guys ❤️!

Kiwi says they guarantee the delayed/missed connections. What they don’t say is they sell you a ticket looks like they are connected but actually they are separate. Airlines don’t take responsibility of the missed connections. Even though it was known that I would miss my connecting flight before getting on the plane, Kiwi would not reroute me. When I got to the connecting flight airport, there were no flights out of that city to my destination. Kiwi would take 2-4hours to make a decision when it was already 8pm and I had been traveling all day. When they came back they offered a longest trip possible and not even to the city I was flying (nearby city). Because I decided to book a different flight, they did not pay for the hotel and already paid hotel at my destination. They refunded the flight I missed but not the amount shown on the ticket. Each flight was priced separately on the ticket because they were not connected flights and from different carriers.
Helps find deals

This is a great app to use to help find deals, and routes using different airlines. The problem is when you book through them. They tell you that you will get your boarding pass sometime between 48hrs and 0hrs before you leave. That is a problem, especially if you are trying to plan ahead and print out your boarding passes. Also, adding luggage can be hard after you purchased the ticket. I still haven’t been able to figure out how to add luggage after a booking! The best way to use the app is to find a route, and then purchase the tickets yourself directly from discount airlines. Then it is effortless to add luggage, print our boarding passes etc... if it were easier to add luggage after booking, and to know exactly when you could expect to get your boarding passes, I would recommend it- even with the fees. But, so far my experience has been difficult. If things change I’ll update this post.

I want to INVITE everyone to DON'T use this platform because you can lose your TICKET and MONEY. On December 22, I bought a ticket that I had to cancel because the airport in the city of Madrid was closed due to meteorological issues and it would not be possible to reach my connection. When I tried to cancel my ticket, I didn't have the opportunity to contact the customer with any line, since for this type of situation I don't have technical support, I only received a message in the app saying that my money would be returned 30 days later. Until today, January 28, I’ve tried to communicate with an advisor but nobody answers neither my emails or my calls. Just as it can happen to me, it can happen to you. The question that arises from all this is whether Kiwi's purpose is for users to reach their final destination or to buy and not use their flights and to avoid responsibilities they do not have technical support or only have it if they buy insurance

I used Kiwi in the past without a glitch. Two months ago I ordered a ticket for Dec. 20th. It was confirmed and I was charged on my visa for the ticket. When I went back to the app. 2 days ago, there is no sign of the ticket I purchased. Trying to get ahold of customer service has been impossible. I hit a brick wall because without the booking # I couldn’t reach anyone. I finally put all zeros in for the booking number and finally got a response. 3 different People from the company have now emailed me asking for the same information. I was never sent an email as promised at time if purchase and now a week before my departure I have a bill and no ticket or info about the purchase. If you are planning to use this company, beware. I have now filed a dispute claim against them with the credit card company for a refund of my money. In the meantime I started at square one booking with another carrier for an extra $250. Please be careful.

Don’t waste your time installing this app. If you read all the reviews the 5 star reviews are all clearly written by the same person. Then install the app and nothing the reviews say is true. The all too often mentioned “UI” is awful! The capital of the great state of Texas isn’t even in the app. I searched several ways for Austin, TX and it “can not be found”! That’s borderline offensive. I did another round trip search for a different trip and found a great price, but when I selected the flight details the screen refreshed and the very same flight 2 seconds later increased $250! This is one of the shadiest apps I’ve ever installed and I want these last 30 minutes of my life back! Y’all should be ashamed and Apple should remove you from their AppStore! To your response absolutely not. You know your app is awful and all your reviews are fake. Fake reviews are enough to make me not ever want to deal with you people again

Stay away from Kiwi!! I tried getting my refund for a flight that did not guaranteed me seats. And this because I specifically told them that me and my husband are traveling with kids age 6 and 9 years old. All they did was sent us a link to buy our seats, after we bought the seats we still didn't get a choice to seat together. They told us that their team was working on getting us a seat. The back and forth with the customer service via email and phone are totally not worth it!! Better book directly through airlines and save yourself some stress and headache. We lost $2500 on a flight, and the only refund they could give us is $65. This is after the back and forth and lots of effort on our part. So be warned and avoid this company at all cost!! SCAMMERS!! Since we lost $2500- we are looking into a legal action with this company.

I’ve been planning a trip to visit my best friend on the other side of the world and all the other apps to claim to have the ‘cheapest flights available ‘ either went higher or were just the same copy/pasted flights with copy/pasted prices. I was bout to drop $900 on a flight till I found this app, going for $680 instead!?! That’s insanely cheaper and cuts half my expenses ! Not to mention the layovers for the flight are exceedingly shorter than the +13 hour layover the other competitors had!! So not only is it cheaper but also way shorter in comparison, more time for me to spend with my friend!! Highly recommend for penny pinchers or people in need of a genuinely good company to book with 😊

So far kiwi is 0 stars in my book. I updated this to 3 stars. I barely used the app. It didn’t help me any originally and I never went back to try again. I won’t go higher than 3 stars because of the original issues. It wouldn’t allow me to register my account, (so I can see my booking info on very concerned I paid for a flight and they took my money.) it was very stressful for me. I did learn from the airline this company didn’t provide my email address. They would have emailed me my ticket info and boarding pass. Had they given the airline my info - I would have had far less stress. This is my updated review. I started with 1 Star - because I was so upset about everything. This ticket was my return flight - I almost don’t go on my trip because of all this.
Lost $400 on under-24-hr cancellation

Kiwi lost me $400 on flights I should have been able to easily cancel on my own free of a cancellation charge within 24 hours of purchase. Kiwi has an extremely long cancellation response time - their terms literally say THIRTY DAYS. As a result, my travel plans to see my friend’s wedding are sunk. In the US, the Dep’t of Transportation recognizes that changed plans and human error occur often. Consequently, ANY FLIGHT can be cancelled without any charge within 24 hours. Unless you booked via Kiwi. I cancelled my flights after 20 hours and Kiwi failed to contact Delta in time! I knew this was a risk and that’s why I personally called Kiwi on their service line (that took 20 minutes of digging on their website to find) to attempt to accelerate the process. The customer service agent (who spoke English as a second language and struggled a bit) said he could do NOTHING to speed up the process. It was like watching a train crash in slow motion without being able to do anything about it. As I had feared, this morning (36 hours after my purchase) I got an email saying that a refund was unavailable from Delta. Of course it was! Because Kiwi took so long to contact Delta about it! There needs to be a way to perform the cancellation IMMEDIATELY.

I usually don’t write reviews but felt very strongly about my experience with Kiwi that I wanted to share how great they were. I usually book my own trips/flights however I took a chance with Kiwi and was blown away with the help I received whenever things looked like they would have gone wrong had I planned it. The whole team at Kiwi was personal and always helpful; they listened to my concerns whenever I had them and absolutely stood behind me whenever there was a problem which travel plans can throw at you. Overall, a pleasant experience and I look forward to working with them!

I have never downloaded a third party app and used it for flights but I had seen good reviews also I heard of it before. I booked a flight to LA on the southwest airline. Immediately upon arrival to the airport I was told my booking did not exist. I called kiwi and was told that they have been having issues with southwest. They mentioned that southwest would send confirmation numbers then turn around and cancel flights on their end (not sure how that works). Nonetheless I was told to see if I could buy a ticket and kiwi would refund me. However, due to COVID the flight was sold out. I was told that I would be refunded for my ticket. But today I received an email stating I would not be receiving a refund due to my name being doubled on the reservation. I have been in contact with them however I am placed on hold then the call disconnects. This is terrible customer service! won’t buy again.

Like many people this year I had a planned trip to Europe that was canceled due to the pandemic. Kiwi books you through various airlines on their own card, but charges your card directly with their agency. I was able to speak with customer service at Norwegian air and found out that they had already refunded my airfare directly to Kiwi. Unfortunately, with Kiwi, you are not allowed to speak to anyone over the phone apparently… All interactions go through either email or text messages through their website. It has been over seven months since I know that they received a refund from the airline, and they have still yet to refund anything to me. You’re better off booking everything directly with the airlines. Any bookings you make with this company, just beware that you are risking not getting any money back.

Booked my flight though this worthless company while ago. Found out that one of my flights in my upcoming trip was canceled by airline so I contacted Kiwi to find out what can we do they told me that second flight was not canceled thou? Lol. And when I asked how am I supposed to get to that flight all they told me that they will look into it. So long story short I proceeded to request refund one month before our flight was supposed to happen. They gave me 3 options. 1 wait for refund for 3 months, 2 pay them extra money to get expedited refund 3 they offered credit to their website for $120 even thou I spent $2200 lol again. This company is a joke it has been 3 months and have not received any refund or any contact from them. I would never use this company again and strongly suggest not to use them because they will rip you off.

I purchased airline tickets 36 days in advance. The day prior to departure I was told the flight was “not available” After 10 hrs and 8 phone calls, to customer service, being placed on hold numerous times, with service agents in the back ground of phone call sounding like they were at a party, laughing and carrying on, I was told that I could expect at refund via PayPal within 24hrs. I have yet to see refund. Refund is on hold for up to 21 days. This is a poor way to do businesses. I was told many times that I would receive an email back within 2-4 hrs only to have to reach out again to explain issue to new agent. I requested the financial department hoping to solve this issue directly. I was told there was “no line to and or way to reach them.” Very disappointed! Will never book again and I will share this experience with my friends and family.

How could you? There are millions of people around the world giving free services and support to people right now. And you are changing policies at the minute. Stealing money from people. And purposefully not offering options. There’s a man running laps for charity in his backyard at the age of 85. There are communities sewing masks because they want people to live. Bootstrapped companies giving services and technology away because they care. About humanity. There are companies and families struggling to survive with no healthcare. And you’re not only not even letting people CHANGE travel and give you money down the road. You’re charging fees on top of the new policies. You’re just taking. You’re just turning off the option. And forcing people in countries around the word to deliver the news. How dare you. How could you. This is disgusting.

I’ve never taken the time thank Kiwi for the service and experience they provide. I’ve traveled all over the world because of these people and this app. It takes a lot of people run something that is valuable for anyone who like to travel without paying top dollar. I’ve had many situations where I needed their help, and they’ve always been good about keeping their word and guarantee. I love these guys and I hope they continue to keep up with the same level of support they’ve always shown me.

Never trust a company that asks you to buy customer service That was my first warning sign. Booking a flight to Europe on a scheduled, regular airline, kiwi asks if I want basic, plus (+$5) or premium (+$10) customer service. I chose basic. Once they issued my “ticket” I saw it didn’t have a standard 13 digit eticket number, or a 6 character record locator. This is a business trip, so I can’t risk an issue. I called Kiwi to ask for those necessary numbers. That record locator is critical for any issues with the airline. ALL THREE people I spoke to asked why I would #1, want to talk to the airline at all, and #2, need those numbers. When the supervisor told me that my record locator would be given to me the day of the flight, I lost it and insisted they cancel my ticket and refund the cost. There’s too much patronizing secrecy/control games for me to trust them. US law requires Airlines to refund if you cancel within 24 hrs of booking. Kiwi did process the refund but said I could expect 30 days for their “finance department” to process the refund, and did not guarantee I’d get anything. Do yourself a huge favor and never go near these shady folks. The only Kiwi is the voice on the phone system. Czech company, Indian customer service agents.

So usually, you can check in to your flight 24 hours before it departs, right? Not on this app. On my boarding pass screen in the app, it said that check in would be available a day before my flight, as usual. However, when I went to check in, the same message was there even though it was after I should have been able to. Looked again throughout the day, and I finally got a new message that said online check in was no longer available. I left on the 30th, so I should have been able to check in on the 29th. However, the message I got said that online check in was only available until the 27th, which was not the case. Apparently, you just can’t check in online with this service, and in this day and age, that’s ridiculous.
Honeymoon/ COVID 19

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Spain, mid March and was cut short due to Covid -19. We were there for only 2 days and had no choice but to return home to the US and not travel to the rest of our destinations. I tried reaching out to kiwi about our flights and never could get through to customer service to see if they would be able to give us a voucher or refund us. I was only given an automated option to go online and cancel the flight. When I checked they would refund $1 and some change and that’s all. I spent at least $1000 purchasing our original flights through kiwi, very disappointing. Very poor service. At least BA gave us a voucher for a flight we had booked through using their website. Do not use KIWI website, book directly with the airlines you are flying with.

I needed to get to India and kiwi booked two separate tickets (instead of one ticket) forcing me to buy/get transit visa. It wasn't clear at the get go that is what was happening, and I am wondering whether they don't disclose that clearly to show better prices ( because that is very inconvenient, and if you miss one flight you lose the other ). They also upsold a service for rebooking a given ticket for extra 150$ , but when I tried to do that, all the itineraries they showed me not at all comparable and significantly worser. When I called the customer service , they wouldn't refund my ticket nor could they find a comparable itinerary ( which they said they will look into, after 2 days they come back with nothing )

I had the worst booking experience ever with this app. They advertise an itinerary as a single itinerary with one or two connecting stops while in fact they book you 2-3 different independent itineraries that you have to collect your luggage after each one! Even worse, they blatantly lie about it by calling it “self transfer!” Of course, you find out about all of that BS after you’ve non-refundably paid for the trip! Also, they advertise a trip with certain airlines and later on after you’ve booked and paid for it, they change the airlines without any notice to you! Their customer service is also just as crappy 🤦🏻‍♂️ I have learned my lesson the hard way unfortunately and my advice to anyone is not to book any trips through this fraudulent site. I an sticking to priceline from now on.

I booked a trip through this service prior to covid and unfortunately my boyfriend and I were unable to go since the airlines canceled the trip. Kiwi initially made me pay to get assistance with a refund and has not communicated with me in a consistent manner on when we can expect our refund. We continue to get generic emails 5 months later telling us that there is a delay in refunding our trip due to the airlines giving them the money for the refund. I will never book through Kiwi again and i am in the process of filing complaints with the better business bureau, ripoff report, and other avenues. Yes the flights are cheap but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case we paid to get ripped off. Just pretend this company is like covid-19 and keep your distance.

We booked our flights and right as we get to the airport it says our flight got rescheduled, we never received an email from Kiwi saying the adjustment. We booked 2 flights in a package and since the first flight got pushed forward a couple hours we missed our second flight. Guess what Kiwi did to help us out. Nothing. They only gave us alternative flights that cost more than both flights combined or a refund that will give money back guarantee... in 30 days!? Kiwi is not up to date with the airlines at all. Do not book your flight on this app i promise you it will cause you trouble. Imagine missing your flight, not knowing if you will go home or you're stuck in a different state or country. Unreliable, stressful, and they don’t even provide a Spanish translator.

Used app first time and it was stated that for both of the flights that I’ve purchased from kiwi there will be a free check in in the airport and currently they cannot check me in online. When I have already arrived for my first flight the check in desk told me that I have to pay 18€ check in fee. They are charging it since 1st of September and my flight was on 24th. Contacted help-desk regarding the refund and they were also surprised about check in fee but can’t guarantee the 100% refund of the fee. Just a suggestion-always use the real website of the airline as the info on the kiwi might be wrong and outdated as in my case. Update: 3 months have passed since this review and nothing changed and no one contacted me regarding my issue

Changed my itinerary, didn’t offer any refund because it was the airlines fault. You can’t go direct to airline either. The Kiwi guarantee is a joke. Should’ve known you get what you pay for. Book direct, or at your own risk. You might get stuck somewhere. It took forever to get ahold of customer support. (+3hrs) Took my $ and didn’t offer me any service. They completely changed the day/time of one of my flights which would’ve messed up the connection so essentially I wouldn’t have gotten home. Kiwi couldn’t care less, not their fault. If you aren’t going to take ownership of peoples routes and ensure you get from point A to point B, what are you doing? Maybe use this as a search engine but I would go to the airline so if something happens you can actually get help.

I was unable to contact customer service for about a month. When I finally did, one person said I would not receive a refund for my canceled trip due to COVID-19. I asked to speak to another employee and they said I would receive a refund within 3 weeks. It has been over two months and I haven’t heard anything. I purchased travel insurance, but nobody from customer service knew how to file a claim. They said “You have to go through the website.” I’ve looked through the website and I am unable to file my claim. I bought a $500 plane ticket and bought travel insurance on top of that. I have not received any refund back, and I am not sure if I ever will. I will never book through Kiwi again if I do not receive a refund soon. Disgusting.

Loved getting the good prices on here and the app is nice. My biggest complaint was a flight change situation. I accidentally booked the wrong day to Venice. I called, which wasn’t too painful, and requested the flight be changed to the next day and time changed from 7:00am to 12:40pm. They changed my flight and charged me something like $60. Not too bad at all. I get my new flight, and it’s again at 7am. I called again to make the correct change, and they said it was going to have to be another change for a fee and wanted like $150. Even though THEY messed up the time, they wouldn’t change it without me paying, AGAIN. Ridiculous.

I don’t advise anyone here to buy tickets, these scammers did not return my money back to me, because of the coronavirus the whole world all companies for canceled flights all return money back for tickets that were canceled, Of my $ 700, they returned me only 100 and to get these $ 100 I have to wait another two weeks, When we called, the girl answered apparently she was sleeping at that time she had incomprehensible English, she didn’t understand us, we didn’t understand her, These people who work here are not professional workers, Incredibly stupid, They do not even know what to answer. I’m disappointed I don’t advise anyone to buy tickets, it's better on $100 $200 is more expensive but buying from the company itself.

For the love of god do not book a trip with these people. First they booked my flight to Israel through Cairo, which was a very stressful experience to say the least. Then they booked a flight to Boston from London through Lisbon except that instead of just connecting me I would have had to clear customs, collect bags, then clear customs and recheck bags in Lisbon, all in two hours. And I would have needed a tourist visa for Portugal, of course. None of these requirements were disclosed in my ticket though, which meant that I had to buy a 700 dollar flight to Boston from London the day of. I was refunded a whopping 24 dollars for the taxes on the unused flights. Such a traumatising experience. Please do not support these unethical if not illegal business practices. I legitimately would sue were I not in college.

Worst travel company I have ever seen and will NEVER use them again. I had to deal with multiple companies making cancellations due to medical emergency and COVID and none of the others gave me nearly the headache Kiwi has. It’s been 6 months since I applied for a refund. They didn’t bother to cancel with the airlines before our flight, despite the fact I notified Kiwi of the cancellation 3 weeks before the flight. I finally reached the airline directly, paid them an additional $140 due to Kiwi’s incompetence, and STILL Kiwi hasn’t issued a refund or a denial letter. Their policy is refund decisions within 30 days. Then they said it could be 90 days. Then they admitted it may actually be more than a year, and the answer could still be “no refund.” Just awful.

I previously was a fan of this company and had bought tickets through kiwi at least a dozen times before I had a bad experience. Then I purchased a refundable, changeable ticket, which I paid a lot extra for. I rebooked the ticket and the difference in the price that it said i would be charged was less than I was actually charged. I was charged an extra $160 for the new flight and when I contact customer service they gave me the run around for months and in the end did absolutely nothing. They just kept making excuses and never refunded the amount that they overcharged me. Do not waste your money on these crooks! Kiwi is a big scam and I will tell every person I know not to use this company!!!!!

At a connection in a foreign country the airline refused to honor the ticket purchased through kiwi. Stranded in a foreign country, kiwi’s support requested more money than the original ticket to resolve. Being held hostage kiwi’s hostage demands were met. It did not resolve the problem. Then kiwi says you need to purchase a ticket there at the counter. Of course the prices for last minute tickets are outrageous and not affordable. Currently have been stranded by kiwi at the airport going on 3 days. This seems criminal to me!!! I will begin writing airlines about this horrible service where these people sell tickets without knowledge of the airlines policies. Then charge customers an exorbitant fee while they are stranded half way through their trip in a foreign country! THIS PRACTICE SHOULD BE A CRIME!

I was scheduled to fly out of Italy on the day a national airline workers strike was scheduled to take place. Kiwi got me a hotel in Rome, and rescheduled my flight free of charge. In fact, they did this when they didn’t have to. I scheduled the flight without checking if a strike was going to take place, even though Kiwi warned me that this may happen. They told me they might not be able to help if I scheduled on one of these dates, but they went above and beyond the terms of service and helped me anyway.

Recently I had a situation when thr flight from Tortola to San Juan was delayed and thus I missed all my further flights. The guys at the check-in stand said that they could do nothing as my flights had been booked in different airlines. I made only one phone call to Kiwi service and everything was arranged in 10-15 minutes!!! They made something really incredible!!! Thank you!!! Feel sorry, that I was so happy that completely forgot the name of a girl who received my call that day

I read a LOT of reviews about this company on google and honestly i was TERRIFIED when I booked. I thought I was scammed and they took my money but everything worked out very smoothly and normally for me. I arrived to the airports on time and was able to get my boarding pass from the app itself and was able to check in that way as well. Let ME be a living example that this company is legit and the apps UI is super smooth! I definitely will book with kiwi again I’m a happy traveler.

The app does absolutely nothing to help with the travel process. Myself and many others(from online reviews and word of mouth) have been surprised that when you get to your connecting flight it turns out to be at a different airport and you end up paying more to get there and deal with much more stress than you would have going one way. The reviews on the app must have been paid for because if you do a little research online it doesn’t take much to find out this “service” is a scam. Also trying to get connected with their customer service is a strenuous process and overall a greater waste of time then helpful. I am warning all against booking with this app.

Their customer support was useless and made it impossible to get my refund. They are a greedy and cold hearted company and it’s really upsetting that they show no sympathy or even care for oversees travel during this pandemic. I bought my tickets back in October and am now expected to not receive my refund at the end of March. They said, “well you can travel there and we’ll find a way to get you home.” So when I don’t find a way home because US has shut down traveling from the UK and Europe I’m supposed to deal with the consequences instead of just helping me stay safe and cancelling my trip I paid with my hard labor. Cruel people. I could use that money to not get evicted from my home.

Since day 1 I’ve had problems with Kiwi. I schedule a booking with my email and all, and every time I turn the page it prompts me to “sign in” and “make a booking” when I clearly have a booking number/account. It’s like it doesn’t want to acknowledge I spent hundreds of dollars, and now I’m being punished for involuntarily having to cancel/refund my trip. What kind of joke is this? If I didn’t use ANY of the services, why shouldn’t I get a FULL refund? How does this make sense? So, I’ve just been scammed out of $600+ dollars, can’t get all of my refund back even though I didn’t even leave my couch! Kiwi is an absolute joke. Awful customer service. Terrible, but Kiwi doesn’t care as long as they get paid!
