Having issues with paying with credit cards
by Smilehye on 2020/09/20 03:16
I have been using credit cards for payment for the past 6 months. One day, I ordered grab food and the driver cancelled the order. Ever since that day, my credit card doesn’t work. I called my credit card company and they said they didn’t do anything and this is coming from grab. I tried to delete and add card (both same cards and different ones) again and it doesn’t work. This is inconvenient.
AWESOME
by Darius M. on 2020/09/18 11:52
THis app keeps getting better and better. I’ve been using it for almost a year and with each update they seem to find a way to make the app end more convenient. I love it!
Great app. Works well, makes travel easier
by Remanman on 2020/09/11 17:53
The Grab app, and the Grab service, are almost indispensable when I’m in SE Asia. It’s easy to book a ride, including selecting the type of car one needs. Being able to track the driver is a great feature. The option to pay from within the app in nice, although I haven’t used it. Highly recommended.
Completely unsecure app with no respect for user privacy
by GlobalM on 2020/09/11 13:04
Despite months of back and forth with Grab Support there is some random person who was able to take over my account by getting my recycled mobile number. This gave them access to my email address, as well as my ride and order history, and is s privacy violation. I also lost all rewards and points I had accumulated. Support is refusing to wipe my data from the other persons account and restore it to mine. This happened because the app ties everything to your phone number. Beware this app.

Worst delivery company
by DyreLogan on 2020/09/04 05:07
Ordered a lot of food from Subway and it wouldn't go through so we had to split the order. The first order went through and then it tried to find a driver for 20 minutes! Then my order went through and my driver was on his way to Subway. I got a message from him that it's busy there so he asked me to wait. I replied o problem. Then a few minutes ago I get a message "finding you a new driver." Seriously? Grab, you are a terrible company and this is the last time I'll use your service. Worst. Delivery. Company. Ever. Stay clear away from this company.

Needs improvement
by alltojah7 on 2020/09/02 03:25
All Grab services are not in all locations in the Philippines. That’s a shame considering it’s an app in which all the Philippines can download it & the services are electronic via the app. There is no need for human interaction.

Generally fine
by Sarah sansrisarn on 2020/08/27 04:11
Since it’s basically Uber, no wonder it’s the most popular. It’s fine for the most part. They probably have the fewest annoying notifications about stuff you don’t care about then any other similar apps, which is a win in itself. The selection for food could be bigger.
Incredibly fast response
by D. San on 2020/08/25 08:04
Finding a ride is almost immediate no matter the time, for me it has worked great for its convenience.
Company Circling the Drain
by soadlapan on 2020/08/25 04:30
From Grab CS: “Please be informed that from 31 July 2020, GrabRewards Points will only be awarded for payments made with GrabPay Wallet.” Why didn’t you post this to all customers through the app?!? There is NOTHING in the Help Centre regarding this major policy change. When did you plan on announcing it? As if to add insult to injury, GrabPay Wallet can’t be topped up anymore, even from local banks! I have lost out on hundreds of points!!! Recently, my account was blocked for 24hrs for cancellations I never made! Drivers in Malaysia are using a hacked version of the app that snipes (steals) calls! Last night our new, untrained driver mesmerized by the app and GPS came to a full stop on the freeway. A 10 minute ride took 45 minutes. The night before that, a driver tapped “Picked Up” then no-showed, effectively disabling the app. Took an hour to sort out. While we have a 8 month old baby in tow. Grab is in the chaotic end stages of startup group think. They have monopoly status. Employees neither know nor care what anyone else is doing. They are way past giving a f@#k.

Worthless Customer Support
by coleton.pierson on 2020/08/24 07:47
When delivery drivers forget food orders, customer support does nothing. Wasted money. Corporate policies for fixing the issue are redundant and inefficient and usually lead to nothing being fixed or refunded. Leaves you only able to review the delivery driver, which isn’t fair since the problems are mostly corporate’s fault on how they handle cases. Use another app, this company is sh**.
Long time, loyal user, recently uninstalled
by Truthful Statements on 2020/08/23 05:53
I’ve been using Grab for 4+ years and have passed a lot of money through their ecosystem, however I’ve decided on principle that I can’t support this company any longer as their customer service is absolutely terrible. As of late I’ve had a few orders in a row that were wrong, whether they were the restaurant or the drivers fault depends on the different orders, however after writing detailed explanations including photos, Grab support didn’t even bother getting back to me at all, let alone compensating me for my lost money and time. On top of what I’ve heard from the drivers (here in Southeast Asia a few years ago there was competition between Uber and Grab, and Uber took much better care of the drivers). Clearly this company does not have the customers nor the employees best interest in mind, they’re just out to take your money and get away with compensating you as little as possible. Look elsewhere. There’s lots of competitors who are hungry to satisfy their customers should there be any issues.
Easiest 5 star ever

Necessary updates for 5 Stars ⭐️
by Vyl Dex on 2020/08/18 08:42
•Honestly I am really impressed by this app with multiple tasks in it. •I love to take grab taxi instead of random one for its security and service. • Yet some locations especially my home can’t be pin-pointed to show exactly where I am and this often leads me to more talking with taxi driver. Sometimes this is annoying cuz he waits for me at somewhere I have to walk far from my home to save my own time. • I’d be more excited to see the live movement of taxi with much less delay on the map in the app. • I’d be very happy to order Grab food if the app includes more restaurants and better results for the food/ restaurant search. Yes I still enjoy this app. Thank you

by quinn988888 on 2020/08/14 09:56
5 stars for service. Had an issue with a delivery, and when I called I got a person on the phone immediately. Such a change from what I’m used to these days. The customer service rep actually called the driver and had it all resolved within 10 min. True test is how companies respond to issues, and Grab nailed it.

The new update is not it
by uwuahuw on 2020/08/12 10:24
I have to say that the most recent app update is no better. The food delivery fee is now at least 20k vnd, that extra 5k for every delivery is going to cost a lot within a month (or at least for someone like me who order Grabfood constantly throughout throughout the day). I haven’t try grabike on the new update just yet, but I will update this review later on after using it. In conclusion, nothing in particularly about this update that wow me about, pretty disappointed, thinking about witching to Baemin and Foody instead.
Suddenly stopped accepting some bank cards
by IrishGyppo on 2020/08/11 05:56
I used to be a prolific user of the app. I could just pay for the rides using my HSBC - Vietnam debit card. But then today they no longer accept cards. Payment has to be made by moca wallet, which is primarily Vietnam only banks. Planning to look at Baemin and GoViet.

Broken Payments and No Customer Support

The Grab app stopped accepting my credit cards for no reason. My cards are fine and work everywhere else. I’ve tried contacting Grab support multiple times but no on replies to support requests or cares. How can a company so big care so little about their customers? Ridiculous

Bad Customer Service
by Madisonn99 on 2020/07/23 06:28
I’ve been ordering food delivery since yesterday and no one picks up the order. Now today, the promo is over. Why bother giving promo if no one is going to accept the order? First time using grab food delivery and the experience made me never wanna use grab app again. When i contacted call center to give this feedback, guess what no one picks up. Bad customer service. Very disappointed.

Great app BUT...
by Carooo_ on 2020/07/04 07:33
Great app BUT.... they really need to update their settings to providing customers with more details about the car. For example, it only gives you license plate and model and make of the car. Not color or picture of the car. A lot of the times I don’t know what kind of car I’m looking for because I am not familiar with most brand cars and model. Grab, please add a picture and color of the vehicle. Thank you.

Stop begging for reviews
by CJMDC on 2020/06/25 05:03
This app tries to get around iOS developer level restrictions on asking for ratings by using its own pop up interface. It’s dishonest, antithetical to the code of conduct expected of apps, and makes Grab seem like a third-rate app.

Where Are The Drivers?
by m07801 on 2020/06/13 08:18
For the past two weeks it’s been a disaster trying to get a grab car. I use the service often. For the past two weeks I have been getting frequent messages saying all drivers are busy. But on the map I will see three to six cars near my location. It has taken me sometimes over an hour to find a driver. I live in Bangkok. Do the drivers just hang out and pick and choose the calls they want?
App will not connect with drivers - iPhone
by ai86 on 2020/06/13 04:20
I updated recently and the app will no longer connect with any drivers. It tells me there are none available and it will take more time. Then my wife tries on her phone, standing right next to me, finds a driver instantly. The only difference is that my wife has not updated to latest version of the app.
Another 300 MB update...
by Chris Hong on 2020/06/11 19:54
... with no specific description of what’s new or fixed. With every 300+ MB update every week, imagine the energy used to download multiplied by each Grab user. That’s the global warming impact!
A Ride Sharing App Wanting Into My Life
by DocBranch on 2020/06/11 08:16
Can’t get past having to link Grab with my Facebook page. Or give a credit card number. I’m ordering a taxi not a hotel room. And FB leveraging apps to expand their reach is a nonstarter.

by Clowve on 2020/06/08 07:43

by WilliamWildePhD on 2020/06/03 04:01

Multiple devices and Feedback form
by lizamail on 2020/06/01 01:53
I have no problems with their services BUT I switch between an iPad and iPhone depending on what i am using when i use them. You should allow for multiple devices once that device has been registered. It is annoying to have to keep inputting a security no everytime i switch devices. And your feedback form on the app is so limiting. If you have a serious complaint - 3 lines of typing is not enough space. Maybe you do not want people to complain or give negative feedback?

by takumaaaa on 2020/05/19 10:56
Don’t use this app! You should use other app like Uber or foodpanda. I use this app but wrong gps and the food didn’t arrive my place. I told drive the correct address but it’s take long time so the food was already cold when it arrive. I’m very disappointed that the food is cold. I contact their support center but only they said is no available agent now. What? I mean this app is so stupid and I will never use it never EVER!
Quảng cáo quá nhiều
by govietcustomer on 2020/05/19 08:14
Bad for people not living in the center of citites
by Joey Tanguig on 2020/05/17 09:08

Still many things to improve
by Smallogre man1 on 2020/05/06 09:23
Grabfood - 1) how to filter out ‘islandwide delivery’? It’s really annoying that there are lots of ‘islandwide delivery’ merchant in my list which I completely don’t want to spend so much on delivery fee. 2) still cannot add item in my cart from multiple merchants. As long as I select item from another restaurant, the cart with item from previous restaurant will be empty out. This is very inconvenient as sometimes people just want to put items saved in cart for later. Please try study more on 饿了么 app or others about user experience.
You have to do better
by Indonesia Rocks on 2020/04/26 10:37
I think the headline says enough. Automatically times out if no delivery driver after 40 minutes - but says nothing about peak times or lack of drivers. However. Still charges your credit card with a refund of 3-30 days. Most people have a credit due in that time. Terrible. You should be afraid of Go-Jek. Customer service is abysmal. Sorry only means something if you mean it. Done with this app. Food Panda, company specific delivery, and Big Blue. You blew it Grab. Shameful.

I decided to uninstall the app, obviously not because of bad fitures of the app. i always get a rude/bad treatment from the drivers, forcing to cancel our orders and then threaten us as well. bad words thrown from their mouth. i was thinking maybe they’re exhausted they get a less job due to covid-19 but that’s not always the case. I hope they’re all educated well and know how to treat costumer well.

"This app may use your location even when it isn't open..."
by Mr.FrickenPositivity on 2020/03/25 09:07
Are you ok with everywhere you go, all day, every day being recorded and shared with dozens of third parties? If you told your spouse you were on a business trip but spent the night with a "friend", this app knows who you were with and where you stayed. Maybe you took a meeting with a rival company. The fact that you were at your competitor's headquarters for 2 hours and not at a doctor's appointment would be recorded. Your employer uses credit checks and whatever other means at their disposal to learn about their employees future and current. You are not anonymous. Linking your identity to location data is trivial. The facts in these examples will be stored in many locations forever. They will be collected and shared along with every other place you go - day in, day out for as long as you keep the app on your phone. Does disabling location services under the privacy settings really stop this? Are you sure? How would you know? Meanwhile, not disabling this "feature" is guaranteed to hand these data over to the makers of this app guaranteed. Your location data is updated constantly providing a complete record of your entire life through your movements. This information will be forever out of your control and will never be deleted. It will be shared with all the entities listed below and then some. They say as much if you read their Privacy Policy. They just leave out enough details to make it ambiguous as to how the facts of the matter would most likely shock and anger you if made clear. From the Privacy Policy: "Personal Data” is any information which can be used to identify you or from which you are identifiable. This includes but is not limited to your name, nationality, telephone number, bank and credit card details, personal interests, email address, your image, government-issued identification numbers, biometric data, race, date of birth, marital status, religion, health information, vehicle and insurance information... We share Personal Data with our subsidiaries, associated companies, jointly controlled entities and affiliates. With Grab’s service providers and business partners We may provide Personal Data to our vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms, and other service providers or business partners. This includes: payment processors and facilitators; background check and anti-money laundering service providers; cloud storage providers; marketing partners and marketing platform providers; data analytics providers; research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in partnership with Grab or on Grab’s behalf; fleet and merchant partners; insurance and financing partners; and vehicle solutions partners, vendors or third-party vehicle suppliers. Almost all of what is collected is above and beyond what is needed to provide you with the service you expected when you signed up to use this app. It is a betrayal of trust and approaches nearly incomprehensible levels of dastardliness. This app is hardly an outlier. In fact, this is most likely one of many such deliberate standardized commodified privacy violation schemes currently operating on your device at this very moment. You should be made aware of these facts but they are purposefully hidden from you. You're welcome.

I depend on Grab to get around most of the time, and based on the amount of time I used it, I've had relatively few issues. However, one recent one has left me seething. Recently, I was running late for an exam, yet had to leave something at a friends house, so I called a two stop Grab. Something went wrong, and the driver ended up having my first stop as the second stop and vice versa on their screen, while mine was showing the right configuration. We ended up missing the turn, not at the fault of my driver, and had to make a series of maneuvers to U-turn. I was late for my exam, and as a result lost some points on my grade, thanks to the bug in the app. People choose the order of stops for a REASON, and this order must be upheld by the app. They are not interchangeable.

Glitched I always try to order but it says no drivers available. They cannot deliver to far places only the ones near the gate.

Like Uber, but worse
by Christopher R R on 2020/03/16 16:17
This is the worst app ever. It’s geo-location service doesn’t work well and pinpoints you in awkward nearby locations that aren’t where you really were. This especially happens at Chiangi airport. It will map terminal 2 and charge you a fee. And when you pay the fee you will received a nebulous “internal server error” forcing you to pay cash. The whole setup is awful. Further drivers aren’t policed. Often they are rude and unhelpful to find you. Shame there’s no good alternative. Lots of potential but in the end it is awful. Oh and support - lol it’s non existent.

Aside from getting from A to B, nothing beats a joy ride on the back of a local driver. I’m inspired to get a bike in the states after using this app religiously. After dozens of rides I haven’t had a single bad experience!
Indispensable!
by Amnesty1 on 2020/03/14 07:37
I see why/how they kicked Uber out!! This app is great! I like that you can do ride and food in same app! Very reliable. The Grab n Go ride feature makes moving about easy and hassle free. The mapping is very good for Bangkok - never misses a location. Highly recommended.

Grab is the Uber of SE Asia
by Team T travelers on 2020/03/10 07:57
Traveling as a family of four, we’ve been using Grab both transport and food delivery functions all through Asia (Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and counting...). It is the Uber for the region (Grab bought the rights from Uber). I think it has better features than Uber USA and so much more affordable here. When in SE Asia, Grab is the best, most convenient choice in the majority of transport needs.
Need better international support

We loved using grab in the Philippines, we want to keep our points active and use the app to deliver gifts and food to our family there. Please, add that functionality to the app ASAP! Also, we can not see our peso balance from here. Thank you for your prompt addressing of these issues so we may rate this as abfive star app. Chris
Need to Review Delivery Options to Ayala Southvale
by Maniceto on 2020/03/08 14:22
I have looked at the options available 1.5 kms away from our home (Daang Hari) and there are so many more options available there. Ayala Southvale is 4 kms away from Alabang Town Center yet we have so few options to get deliveries from there. On the other hand, only because our address reads as “Cavite” the options are available to us are restaurants which are not only farther away, they are less familiar lower end restaurants. Options available to us should be the same as those available to Ayala Alabang Village, which is parallel to Ayala Southvale along Daang Hari. Please have a look at this. Thanks.

Great app

We used Grab while traveling in Bangkok, it was easy and cost efficient. The app sends a notification when the driver is on the way and has arrived. I also liked that you can view the route of the driver as you go.
GRAB’s Platinum Rank is a joke
by Gamer128384884 on 2020/03/06 06:29
I’m a platinum rank on grab with 3789 points and they guarantee me to get good drivers and fast service. But it takes like 10 minutes to find a good driver and they always put me with drivers who are lower than 4.8 *
Easy & Safe!

We love using Grab everywhere we travel in SE Asia. App is easy to navigate, rides are quick to respond, easy to follow map to destination, and payment thru the App is so efficient. We feel so safe using Grab when we don’t really know the area well.

Traveling around Bangkok can be a bit hectic and riding a motorbike isn’t the safest. I also traveled to Koh Samui. Grab was super convenient and easy to use. I used it for shorter trips around Bangkok and I also rented a car/driver for 6 hours to drive me all over Koh Samui. The drivers are polite and friendly. I tipped each one of them.
Beats a taxi or a trike anytime.
by BigFonzay on 2020/03/02 02:44
In Manila Taxis always try to rip you off. In Pampanga trikes try to charge foreigners as much as grab and sometimes more. Grab cars are always more comfy than a trike. Trikes are small and uncomfortable and grab cars have AC and room for 4. Plus grab car shows price upfront so you don’t get ripped off.

Thank you

5 stars for service. Had an issue with a delivery, and when I called I got a person on the phone immediately. Such a change from what I’m used to these days. The customer service rep actually called the driver and had it all resolved within 10 min. True test is how companies respond to issues, and Grab nailed it.
This is inconvenient.

by Remanman on 2020/09/11 17:53
The Grab app, and the Grab service, are almost indispensable when I’m in SE Asia. It’s easy to book a ride, including selecting the type of car one needs. Being able to track the driver is a great feature. The option to pay from within the app in nice, although I haven’t used it. Highly recommended.
Good service
by Lunaikka on 2016/07/04 02:13
After getting an overcharged fee from Uber in HCMc, I decided to use Grab instead. The very pleasing thing about Grab is that what I need to pay is the already estimated fee shown every time I need a grabcar. This is why I am so willing to tip the drivers if they are nice. In addition to all of those, I had great time using Grab while on my vacation in Malaysia, 5rm off for 6 rides. The downside of Grab is that Grab got laggy during peak hour, I had spent more than 1 hour and a half trying to grab a car but could not. I had to use my brother's phone, installed grab and my sim to his, and we got a car right away. In addition to this, I cannot change my phone number if I need to have it updated, i.e. when I was in Malaysia, my grab was connected to a vietnamese phone number, so the Malay drivers couldn't call me, I had to call them first every time I found a grabcar. So I figured I have to delete the app, then reinstall it, and enter new phone number when I am in another country. Hopefully Grab will have an update that'll solve this inconvenience. Overall I would rate Grab 4 stars for their great ideas and services.

What you see is not what you pay...
by Nicolas8888 on 2016/06/08 00:54
I have been using this app for quite some time in Singapore. This works quite well except during peak hours when it checks many drivers and can't find one (I guess this comes from the fact that "busy" drivers don't indicate they are busy in their app). The percentage of driver cancellations is also much higher than competitors, which is quite annoying, especially after you struggled to get it and waited already 15 minutes. But what made me stop using this app is when I realized that the rate shown for grabcar on the welcome screen before confirming the booking is NOT what I paid (was obviously higher by several dollars). When I called the support, I was told that there is no issue with the system, it is just that pricing is dynamic and changed between the time is confirmed and the confirmation of the driver (a very short while after). For me, this is unacceptable. It is like going to the supermarket and realizing at the cashier that prices on the shelves are just indicative... The support guys were not understanding and kept repeating this is normal (even at supervisor level). They finally proposed to have a higher ranking person to call me back within 24 hours and a week later still nothing. Good bye Grab, you just lost a customer who uses taxi several times per day, and maybe many others once they will discover how you work and treat customers
AMAZING FOR TRAVEL
by bradsreview on 2019/12/01 05:53
Grab App has been our oasis in Asia. We visited Singapore, Malaysia, and now are in Thailand. Singapore was very easy and comfortable to get around on public transport so we didn’t use Grab App there. But as soon as we hit the other two countries we desperately needed affordable transportation. Luckily some neighbors in Malaysia at our hotel told us about Grab and we’ve been using it since. Very affordable and keeps us from having to deal with local taxis who try and rip off or scam foreigners. The scheduling feature is also great. When we made a stop in Phuket, we were out by Phang Nga Bay which is a rural coastal village for site seeing. A local taxi tried to charge us twice what we paid to get there (we used Grab to get there from the airport). Unfortunately Grab drivers weren’t in the area but we scheduled it out and got one for a similar price to what we paid to get to Phang Nga from the airport. Now in Bangkok, public transport is very confusing, I can’t read the stops or signs or streets. Nothing is tourist friendly. Can’t figure out how to pay or how much to pay. Grab is an amazing alternative. I love this app!
Really Great App with a few shortcomings
by msdz919 on 2017/09/20 02:40
Love many features of the app: Just Grab is great, car options are very diverse, and love the ability to add multiple destinations for a trip. Grab also has a very easy messaging interface, and seemingly better GPS than Uber. Plus, the reward program is AWESOME. The one major objection is that you can't cancel a request once made and before a car is assigned. The only way to TRY to cancel a request is to shut down the app and even then I still sometimes get assigned a car after the app has been closed. You can only cancel once a car is assigned, which you get penalised for - this seems a bit unfair. Uber allows you to cancel mid-request which is helpful on both the passenger and driver side. Also, it would be great to see an ETA during the trip as Uber has. To know my ETA with Grab I have to track on my own by GPS.
Energy consuming App with Terrible Service
by Xian01000101@gmail on 2017/08/30 14:06
I have been using Grab more frequently starting this year. The application for some reason uses a lot of energy and when running this your battery will take a big hit. As for the App, it does not really give you precise locations that you can choose and the drivers are often sent to the wrong location. Uber's apps are more clean. But the app is just one part, the bigger part is the service behind the app. With Grab in the Philippines 20% of your fare goes to Grab, the drivers are rewarded for number of rides, and if a customer complains about getting 12 cancelled rides from drivers in 2 weeks, well at most you will get a standardized letter saying that Grab is sorry, that they are fixing the problem, and let us know if we can help you in any other way. BUT, what they are actually saying is "You are stupid for believing we are doing something about this problem, We don't care about the customer and just want you to keep getting our service where we get 20% for the same ride from a Taxi. So if you get GRAB in the Philippines, expect that you will get bad service after you batter takes a hit on energy levels.
Watch out for scams
by Locked out too on 2019/11/07 01:15
In one of my first experiences riding a Grab car in the Philippines, the driver lied about my scheduled drop off being in the wrong direction and tried to convince me to overpay him by 1,500 in cash to take me where I wanted to go. In one of my last experiences with a Grab car in the Philippines, the driver dropped us a 20 minute walk from our destination. When we exited the car confused in the wrong place, we left behind a bag containing a precious family memory of a deceased family member. We realized the mistake immediately and tried contacting the driver repeatedly. He didn’t answer our calls or repeated calls from customer support for several days. By then we had to leave the country. When he was finally tracked down, customer support refused to send the bag despite my offers to pay for the inconvenience and international shipping and my explanations of the irreplaceable nature of the item. We were never refunded our extra expenses for calling a new car to take us to the correct destination. Use this service with caution if at all. If anything goes wrong, they will not have your back.
Beneficial, Functional, and Interesting.
by Comrade.Chenkov on 2015/08/11 04:40
This application is incredible. It's easy to use, it gives you the idea who and where your driver is at, it will also save you the time from falling in line at any taxi lines at malls or any other places where there is a lot of people. I just recently discovered this application from my sister. She introduced me to this application and tought me how to use it, and she also told me to install it after. So far, this application has lived up to my standard, and the recent update was really helpful. Yet I don't like that the GrabCar (Sedan) and the GrabCar+ (Premium) has only few dispense. I think that it should have more, because I prefer to ride something unsual, and their is also the fact that their is an existing promo; still active up until now. But this application is one of the apllications that you must seriously have on your phone.
Some bugs
by ShrimpMantis on 2016/05/05 22:09
Like last night , I booked for s can , waited for 15mins or so but still no reply, so I CLOSED the app and looked to a random cab outside, halfway to my destination, I receive a texted message from a driver responding to my booking on that very moment, iJust wish in the future, once the app has been close, the booking should be closed too because even though I had no internet because I left my house, my booking was still searching for a cab which is not necessary because I've left and closed the app, this may cause major conflicts between drivers and passengers and may be a problem for drivers because of what happen last night, I felt embarrassed because the I was far away already almost quarter away to my destination and the driver just arrived to my place thinking there would be a passenger waiting but instead has taken another cab already. Hopefully this bug would be fixed.. TakeCare & GodBless

I live in Bangkok, speak and read / write Thai. I have no problem getting a normal taxi. A really friendly taxi driver told me that it was easy to get a big taxi with grab taxi, just use the special instructions and write “Big Taxi" or “รถใหญ่" in Thai. So I would write both. Always a small taxi would accept the job and show up, never reading the special instructions. And then they wouldn’t know how to cancel the booking and when the taxi is near the customer can’t cancel the booking. So each time it was about a 5 minute delay. Finally customer service calls me. He flat out lies and says they have no big taxis (I’ve seen them with the GrabTaxi stickers, long time Bangkok resident). So after the app wasted 50 minutes of time, I had to get 2 taxis the old fashioned way… and that was much easier than with GrabTaxi.
The Uber of Thailand!
by 3xjlerma on 2017/07/02 23:56
This is a great app, especially if you're a foreigner like me who doesn't know how to get somewhere and leaves it to an app and the taxi driver to figure out. In the app you're able to type the name of the place you want to go rather than try to figure out the address on google and then copy/paste, this was a convenient feature. I'll give it four starts because there were numerous times where I would click on the "Book" button and immediately I would get a message that would say "Your ride has arrived" when in fact the driver was still minutes away. Lastly, I speculate that when a taxi driver receives your request and sees that it's too far of a distance or the route contains heavy traffic the taxi driver will cancel your order; this happened at least once every time I needed a taxi.
Cheaper and better than Uber
by Mahpycart on 2016/12/31 11:15
I've only used Grab in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, so I'm not sure how it works in other cities, but so far I love it! There are always promo codes that you can use to make it even cheaper than it already is. Depending on where you are, it may take some time for a driver to accept and get you since I don't think Grab is as big as Uber yet. Nonetheless, it's still a great app considering it's in its beginning stages. I really like how the price you see before you accept is the price you pay, which is the biggest reason why I prefer Grab over Uber. I've only used the Grab economy, so it could be different for the other services. Cars are also really new compared to the taxis around town, so it was a nice change. I think the drivers are nicer as well since Grab has a rating system.
More than likely to save you money in Thailand taxi fares
by AnthonyFromFL on 2018/04/30 08:00
First time to Thailand and stayed in the Bangkok area for 5 days. Unless you’re a local and/ or lucky, you probably won’t find better taxi fares in Thailand unless you use this app. I’ve gotten taxi fares cheaper than a lot of tuk tuks, using this app. Yes there’s ads but how do you think a free app remains free?? You may sometimes experience long wait times (15-20 min) because not only traffic at time of request, but it seems like the taxis available from the app are not as plentiful as say Uber in other big cities around the world- so you may see increased fare prices due to high demand. I still say 5 stars because this app has done what it has advertised and what it has been designed to do. Plus it saved me some money too.
Bugs with new updates
by roscomcmillan on 2018/06/12 08:31
I like this app so this is all to help improve. The recent payment update caused me to say thanks and walk away from my drivers car while he was expecting cash. My credit card was no longer being used for rides without any notice. He had to run me down and thought I was trying to not pay. I had to use cash for a day before I had time to go through the new pay system sign up. When I tap “Learn more about the Grab pay credits”, it takes me to a webpage that can’t be found, so I’m not sure if my card on file will be used again now or if it expects me to top up like a SIM card. Also the grab rewards new sign up process keeps freezing on the last step (entering date of birth). Minor suggestions from before update: * GPS is usually inaccurate by a short distance * Raising rates for drivers or being able to tip in-app should be added asap. * A standardized picture of the vehicle should appear by the driver picture. This will help everyone, but especially foreigners to spot a car when they don’t know the regional makes and models of vehicles. * Being able to give public compliments or favorite drivers to use again in the future. More incentives for good drivers.
Where did the driver info screen go?
by mb_oebanda on 2019/09/13 22:49
The app used to show a full screen image with a green background showing a photo of the driver, vehicle details, and star ratings when “We’ve found you a driver!” For my past two bookings, that doesn’t show up anymore and when I click on the driver information on the screen with all of the ride info nothing happens. The name is truncated and the photo is too small to see anyway. The driver screenshot is very important; my son is on the autism spectrum and when he takes a Grab by himself it’s an essential part of his safety routine to send the family not just the ride details by sharing the ride, but the screenshot of the driver. If this is a glitch, I’d like to report it. If it’s an update feature, removing that full screen image of the driver with the green background is a very bad idea. Please bring it back. Grab is a critical part of our lives, enabling someone like my son to travel safely but we need the driver information back. Thanks for listening, Grab.
Love the app
by Expl0d!ngsharp!es on 2018/02/02 05:51
I really love this app, it’s super user friendly and easy to understand. I love that it gives a lot of options for rides. The other feature that I really love is that it translates the text messages so I know what the other person is texting. I would have to say that alone is awesome. My only (2) complaints are that it crashes when it’s a busy night so it’s really hard to book one when it’s busy and the other complaint is that it’s not always accurate as to where the driver is. For example it will say the driver is there to pick you up but it shows their car 2 streets over (even thought they really are at your pick up point). Once those 2 problems are fixed I’d give it a 5 star.
Great app used in Thailand
by MadBetch on 2019/05/16 02:06
I’ve used this app on my first trip to Thailand in Bangkok and Chiang Mai on May 2019. It works well in both cities. It is the Asian Uber or Lyft app. You don’t need to attach your credit card info. You can pay cash baht as you go to the driver. It’s optional to attach your credit card for a small discount off fares. There are different options - JustGrab is a fixed rate. You can see how much the cost is before you book. Also, Grab Taxi will vary on price but will show you an estimate before you book. You will add an additional 20 baht for taxi on top of the meter price. Be warned that some drivers used fake pictures on their Grab profile, but all drivers were nice. I had no issues of scams, language barrier, etc.
Drivers are always lost and inept...
by joshjellel on 2018/05/02 04:41
I rely on ride-hailing apps when working in Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines. Time and again Grab has been a miserable experience when you don’t speak the driver’s language. Someone please tell me why the drivers never know where to pick me up and where I want to go!? Both of those pieces of information are crucial to booking a ride. Both of those pieces of information are entered with explicit detail and appear in both text and map form in their native language on their own device that they know how to work. And yet, every single ride I get a call with questions about where I am—somehow they can’t figure out without speaking to me how to navigate their car to that pin on the map. And then once I’m in the car we have to try to talk some more and point to places and maps and info on my phone that I know they can’t read. C’mon man! Knowing how to navigate is like 75% of your job. And Grab the company: this wayfinding should be seamless as a part of the driver’s software. How about some initial navigation aptitude testing and ongoing training?! And how about some education on what riders expect from an app-based service?! If I wanted to make a phone call and do a lot of talking, I’d call a traditional taxi service. Talking to the rider can not be your drivers’ first resort—they need to be more resourceful. Inexcusable. No stars!
Completely frustrating app and experience
by Flyonzewall on 2018/05/23 01:37
I live in SE Asia where Grab have acquired Uber. I used Uber regularly without a problem for years. So now I have to use Grab and the app is a near total fail. For example: - The app often can not find my pickup location and autolocates hundreds of metres away, sometimes across a busy highway. I have had to cross busy highways in the rain, not at all safe, just so the driver could find me. This is a huge complaint I hear from drivers as well. - The destination database is very limited. Type in a point, it doesn’t find it, and offers up suggestions that are not even close to where you want to go. Sure, you can pin a destination on a map, but what if you don’t know the city or language? - Unlike Uber, the route is not plotted on the app map, so you have no idea if you are taking the correct route. This could also be a safety concern if you doubt the driver’s integrity. - Many times your current location lags by a minute or more, so the app doesn’t even show you where you are. I could go on, but Grab is just totally frustrating. If I am somewhere where I can hail a taxi, I do that now rather than deal with the Grab app, even if I have to pay more. Both riders and drivers are frustrated...Grab needs to fix this if they want to grow their business or keep formerly satisfied Uber riders and drivers.
Getting worse as time goes by
by saywhatnow on 2017/09/28 05:16
I am exhausted from Grab these days. The indicated wait times are never correct due to GPS errors and poor estimates of driver travel time. The drivers always seem to have another passenger to drop off first and there is no way to indicate during booking that I don’t want to wait for that period of time. Cancelling a booking, even after waiting for much much longer than the original estimate results in me being penalised, yet drivers can cancel seemingly at random. The reason Grab used to be better than other taxi booking services was that you could count on a driver picking up and then showing up. Now that this is no longer true and the fact that both Comfort and Uber have improved their services in Singapore, Grab has zero advantages. As soon as they stop heavily subsidising rides through discounts I will stop using Grab. I’ve already stopped using it half the time. Get it together, Grab.
After three tries I still have never gotten a ride
by Joel D. Arnold on 2015/07/08 17:22
Ultimately a service like this will only be as good as its drivers. Tonight I needed a taxi fast to get to the hospital. A driver said he would pick me up. I went outside in the rain. He cancelled. I tried again and added P150 as a tip - I was desperate. Someone supposedly four minutes away accepted. After three I went out in the rain with my bags. I waited in the rain for 5 minutes. 4 taxis passed me in the meantime. Finally I gave up and waved the next one (saving me P220 on fees). Then the first guy called me really mad and talked for 5 minutes about why I was rude for not waiting (which I clearly did). Go figure. He apparently couldn't find how to come to me even though it was really clear on the map. So maybe their location finder should be improved. Or just training for their drivers. In the future I'll either just flag someone or try uber.
Terrible app
by C1243657 on 2019/04/21 16:48
Apart from the numerous issues with the map and interface (locations aren’t clear, you type in the name of a place exactly as it appears in google maps and they suggests 100 other places nowhere close, etc.), the biggest issue is that I cannot add my credit card to the app. Does it not accept Visa cards from the US or what? That is half of the appeal of using a ride hailing app. If I have to use cash I may as well just hail a cab on the side of the road - prices are similar, sometimes the cabs are cheaper. So they sent a developer response saying “For security reasons you can only add a card when you are in S.E. Asia.” What security reasons? Sounds like a lousy excuse. Second, I’ve been living in S.E. Asia for over three years! Maybe you mean “you can only use a card issued by a bank based in S.E. Asia”? Ridiculous. Hopefully some other companies can enter the market, it certainly wouldn’t be hard to do it better.
Poor Service
by Boracaybaby on 2016/06/11 09:03
I am unable to get a driver using my globe number for 2 days now, maybe because I cancelled 2 of my bookings yesterday. They should have at least inform me if they are going to block my number. The Reason why I cancelled my booking yesterday was because I waiting 30mins and when I called the driver, he kept on saying "sobrang lapit nalang po, kaso hindi lang cguro minuto itong traffc, baka oras pa nga. Paki cancel nalang po.." The driver should have set the passengers expectation that it is heavy traffc and might be late for 15mins. Lately, grab is so pricey yet for my convinience and peace of mind, I always use grab but now thinking of switching to UBER, at least with UBER, the service is more human, not like a robot. The price is high due to high demand is crap. That is acceptable if it is rush hour but even during noon time, grab is doing this. Very wise monkey, isn't it? We understand that it is purely business but not to the point that grab is taking advantage with a vey unreasonable fare rate.
Back to back pick up and not showing drivers around when booking
by Loveaddict on 2018/03/10 05:06
Grab used to be much better than this. In the past, the booking given to the driver was not back to back and the waiting time was not horrendously long. Now most of the bookings will be back to back i.e. driving dropping another passenger nearby and then picking you up. I have encountered many times that the driver took longer than usual (wrong turn, etc.) and the waiting time from 7 minutes or or could be doubled. Also, now you don’t see if your trip request is rejected or accepted by drivers when booking. It’s much more annoying for me. The only point that Grab is doing much better than Uber (or attracting more passengers) in the SE Asia region is more and more promotions. In the end it won’t be sustainable and one (Uber) will have to go out. And when that day comes, we will have to bear with terrible customer service and price hike!
Needs some work
by anawin james on 2020/03/23 06:41
I depend on Grab to get around most of the time, and based on the amount of time I used it, I've had relatively few issues.
Too many cancellations
by Can't have the same nickname! on 2019/07/13 06:51
The app would be great, except there are far too many cancellations, especially with food orders. There are times when 6 or 7 drivers will accept my order and then cancel anywhere from 2-10 minutes later, which means waiting 15-40 minutes before someone actually starts to pick up the order... They then accept other passengers when they should be delivering my food, which turns what should be a 10 minute delivery, into a 30-40 minute delivery, and I end up with cold/smashed food... The same happens with rides, and on occasion the driver will say they aren’t coming and demand that I cancel so that they don’t have to. Grab needs to do a better job ensuring their drivers follow through and incorporate stricter penalties for cancelling. I have since started using Be/Viet-Go/Uber and don’t have any of those issues.
Not like UBER
by gfrdgorosocd on 2019/12/27 14:29
It’s a bummer in Thailand we have no choice. Grab’s drivers never see where you really are. So they call you but you can’t understand Thai and their English is not great. And yes we are the guest and should learn the language but that is the whole purpose of using an app instead of a regular Taxi. You are paying more because you should be able to just use the map and point where you are and where you are going. Their system is messy the poor drivers never know exactly where you are. Also as you are trying to find a ride, all these pop-up offers clutter the way and you have to keep dismissing it. Not a clean app like Uber. You don’t even know the color of the car. I wish another company would come into Thailand and give some competition because otherwise Grab will not get any better.
