Widget stopped working
by Dude245 on 2020/10/24 20:05
It works but not great. The app is usually delayed a lot and makes fast forwarding shows frustrating. The widget used to work but hasn’t since the last iOS update. In the end what’s left is a barely functioning app that is frustrating.
Never works right and freezes
by Plavan on 2020/10/23 22:24
You think they would have this work just a little bit. Now my Harmony hubs are just paper weights
widget? -UPDATED AGAIN
by LAS VEGA5 on 2020/10/23 02:11
Thanks for responding, Logitech—my favourite peripheral-maker! the widget stopped working. please fix, don’t break. “if it ain’t broke, break it” — logitech, harmony division October 2020 widget is dead again. it was working, then updated to ios 14, now it is failing to connect to the hub. please fix! thanks
Can’t Give Zero Stars
by The Fav Minion on 2020/10/23 00:14
I have been trying for THREE hours to connect my new hub. This software is the absolute worse I have had the misfortune to download. I wish I had read the reviews before I spent $250 for the remote. I used to love my Logitech remote. The concept is great, the execution is horrible.
Worst App i’ve used in years
by altt3 on 2020/10/21 03:33
You’ve got to be kidding me - horribly designed, frustrating to use, can’t get setup to work properly.
Run away
by jmccomas85 on 2020/10/18 02:12
This app is terrible. If you just bought a Harmony Hub, do yourself a favor and return it immediately. The setup process is hit or miss. If you are lucky enough to get everything working, expect it to stop working within a month or two with no explanation.
The Worst
by John@239 on 2020/10/17 23:11
I can not wait for one of the big tech firms to put this garbage out of its misery.
Absolute Garbage
by cartoon ds1976 on 2020/10/13 23:08
This app is absolute garbage and I recommend that everyone stay away from it. It will not work and made a Harmony elite hub unusable after the Mac app was shut down. Find a different remote if possible because this one will make your life harder, not easier.
4 stars til this week
by VOXOMATION on 2020/10/13 02:43
keeps not communicating with hub no issue for a year until latest update, please test before rolling out I had no issues now barely working
Works Well — Could Be Better
by RJT312 on 2020/10/10 22:49
I have three Harmony Hubs in my house and they work really well with this app. Great to have a one-stop app to run all my AV gear. My one request would be to make it easier to switch between Hubs. Harmony should take a lesson from the Apple TV app and have the name of the Hub at the top be a pull-down to switch between Hubs. Doesn’t make sense to have to hit 3 buttons to start turning on my gear in a different room. Also wish it wouldn’t switch away from my most recent Hub when I haven’t used it for a few minutes.
Garbage
by leeleejsjssken on 2020/10/09 23:05
Don’t spend over $300 on this remote. Tried setting up the hub on my phone, reset it several times, unplugged several times, closed the app, and made sure the light was blinking on the hub. It still refuses to connect. Will be returning this and never buying from this company again.
Works as advertised
by Music-guy99 on 2020/10/09 03:46
I was quite anxious after purchasing the Harmony Elite and then facing the dilemma of having to use a low rated app. I had no option so I downloaded the app and went head first into configuring the remote. I’m running on iOS 14.2 (yup - it’s a developer version) and the app installed without issue. I followed the on-screen instructions and configured the following devices without issue; Yamaha Avantage RX-A3080, Apple TV, Samsung Ultra BlueRay, Samsung Q875 TV and the cable DVR. I successfully setup 5 different activities and everything worked flawlessly. There are a lot of low ratings on here and perhaps they are legit but my setup was straightforward and I’m happy. Normally I don’t write reviews so I hope this is helpful to anyone considering the Harmony Elite. It beats buying the commercial remotes where you are required to hire a certified person to configure it on your behalf.
Apple Watch app?
by MattF876 on 2020/10/08 20:40
What a lost opportunity for an Apple Watch companion app. Otherwise, this app is mediocre. All the frequently used commands for a function reside on different screens within the activity. Would be nice to be able to customize what controls I want on which screen.
Garbage and Outdated
by Therealjdawg on 2020/10/07 16:16
Save your money and use the CEC-HDMI on your TV that let’s you do the same thing. iPhone app is ok but the iPad app is Landscape only. Updates break basic functions.
How are they still this bad at making apps?
by Prof SB on 2020/10/06 23:35
I am flabbergasted that a company like Logitech can still be so completely inept at making apps. The UI of the app is absolutely terrible. It’s unintuitive, clunky, and completely inefficient. It takes way too many taps and swipes to set anything up. The Today View widget also only works whenever it feels like it. As I write this, for example, the widget has basically just decided to say that it failed to connect to the hub for the entire day despite the fact that the hub works fine; indeed, when I open the app, everything works without issue. Honestly, every piece of software that Logitech releases seems like a beta release in 2005 from some small company that is just figuring out how to code. It’s really embarrassing.
It’s 2020 and this app is still horrible
by jrossh21 on 2020/10/05 00:27
At this point, Logitech won’t fix it - they simply don’t care. Having said that - unfortunately, it’s the best universal remote on the market.
Great remote, hopeless App
by mp ID for Apple on 2020/10/04 23:09
Hey Logitech, please sell Harmony division to those who are interested in enhancing it to the best (Because your CEO has said this division is only 6-7 % of your total). This App's layout, GUI is so vintage. And pathetic. And so call customization is a joke. Remote is good, but App? Good luck dealing with it. Not to forget the Slow execution of commands.. Doesn’t deserv even a star 😡but lower than that is not possible.
Buttons stop working
by McDBurl on 2020/10/04 13:28
The rocker switch worked great to control my hue light brightness...until it didn’t work. Now I get an error when I try to reprogram those buttons to control the lights. Bummer. I’m back; the rocker switch still doesn’t work. This is the worst app for an otherwise expensive remote. How can you have buttons on the remote that you can’t program or use? I was able to update the rocker switch; thanks.
Connecting to servers

Broken app, broken remote
by Hyland3r on 2020/09/29 02:52
After the last update, my remote no longer works. It tries to power everything on, then quits. I thought it may be a hardware issue, but I’m having the same trouble with the app. This all started after the most recent update.
Have you lost funding for this device?
by maajka on 2020/09/27 21:21
The only logical reason why the application would be in such a poor state is that they must have lost funding. The application feels like it was made for the iPhone 4 and crashes more often than it works. I really wish I had known how terrible the software is considering the remote was 350 squids. Shame Logitech
This app is terrible
by Finalvinyl60 on 2020/09/27 20:37
Totally frustrated. I’d give zero stars and the developer a punch in the face if I could.
Would give it a zero if I could
by Marshman515 on 2020/09/24 13:36
Keeps crashing when trying to Sign In with Apple. No longer using username, changed to email addresses and have to start over again. Logitech has taken a great Harmony remote company and totally destroyed it.
Some people should not be allowed to code
by Tibodelge on 2020/09/18 01:02
This is by far the worst UI and UX i have experienced on any app. Amateurs do a better job on the app store. I am in disbelief how a company like Logitech could sign off on a disaster like this app. Unbelievable.
HOMEKIT SUPPORT❗

Can we get some Apple HomeKit support.
Junk
by Lefty Hokum on 2020/09/16 02:22
All I can do is add a device. That's it the whole app. Junk, the app and the crap remote. What a scam 150 for nothing and the store won't return it. Edit: I ended up figuring out that you have to set up all the devices or you can't continue past that in the app. Seems silly. I had to delete all devices but one then set that up to get past. There is no leading you through or letting you know what is going on. Very bad User Experience. The other issue is once I got the hub set up the remote still wasn't set up and of course no direction. Back to scouring the web. Finally got a simple turn on tv set up and though it does it the app and the remote takes like 15 seconds. What is the point? You wait so long you end up picking up the old remote. Yes I know there is a setting for that but it doesn't go any faster. Like I said in the heading Junk, Junk, Junk!
Can’t update buttons - work around found
by wellfleetion on 2020/09/14 20:24
Before allowing this (only through the app, cant due so on a laptop/web browser) you immediately get the message “updating the hub” and it goes to 25% and stops EVERY TIME the 20 times I’ve tried it (on 2 different brand new iPhones). So now I can’t update my lights button, etc.! FIX THIS BUG PLEASE! Update: Giving it one added star as I was able to get around this by plugging the hub directly into my laptop and using the software. But not everyone has a laptop so this will still be an issue for those who can only do things via their phone and the app.
Horrible
by Vasisht Srinivasan on 2020/09/14 14:16
Horrible application, atrocious interface. Desperately needs Siri Shortcuts to be remotely useful

by iscrawler on 2020/09/11 02:58
9/10/2020 4:00 On a second run - Get provision failed. Current unskilled dev & QA teams should got shoved off. Isn’t this app rating doesn't say anything? Logi, please stop paying them and hire professionals, rewrite the app from scratch. Please. I just unboxed Harmony Elite and got this. 9/10/2020 7:31pm After uncountable attempts to finish the initial setup, trying to connect to the hub, factory resets, reinstalling apps and software, connecting to PC/MAC via USB cable, back and forth, getting tons of errors, trying to do set up on PC/Mac using software from 2017 lol. I gave up. Error, error, error, error... Unable to connect, unable to establish something, connection errors, content download errors, etc. I'll take some break. Harmony app developers and QA testers, are you ok there? I don't understand why Logitech is still keeping you? All of you must be fired, including VP, who can't observe the obvious. Fired! No canned, useless responses, please. Will be updated....
Ecobee integration has been broken
by Bee144 on 2020/09/10 07:34
Ecobee integration has been broken for over 4 months now. They updated to a new auth api. Other products have updated to the new api but Logitech is dragging its feet. This is preventing me from linking the two. I’ll update my rating to 5 stars once this is fixed.
So terrible
by 4636gg on 2020/09/07 16:02
So terrible it is so useless so I had to YouTube how to use my remote and that gave me more information than this app if want to know how to use your remote or whatever it this app is not it.
Remote?
by LostSoul_FallenStar on 2020/09/01 06:18
Can’t I just use this like a remote? Why do I have to create an activity? I already have other systems in place. I just want to select remotes or devices and use them. Would you mind at least making it an option?
Outdated
by Zen367 on 2020/08/30 23:38
This app needed an overhaul 5 years ago! It’s so primitive and badly organized. It looks like something that was written by grade school kids.
If I could give it negative stars I would
by Card11s on 2020/08/30 17:21
When Logitech went to the cloud and stopped support of their desktop app vs Mobile they should have put a warning label on their product. They took an excellent product and made it unusable. This app is just garbage
Failed login and does not allow to login again
by eddjmg on 2020/08/29 19:04
I’ve had Logitech remotes for years. They’ve always worked decent, EXCEPT for when I try to edit settings after wanting to edit devices or make other changes. The app is horrible for making changes and the website is too. You would think that a company that’s been around a while would have this figured out. Can y’all add more people to your smart home devices department? Thanks
Seriously!?
by C914 on 2020/08/25 02:55
I wanted to update one thing and the entire app goes non responsive? Frustrating till no end. If you product depends on an app to run..... then app had better be flawless.
Nothing good
by Jhate83 on 2020/08/17 02:36
It doesn’t make sense considering the control you could have if the app wasn’t so bad. Not user friendly. Overall very ugly to look at. Just a complete dud.
Some great functions, but need to improve
by karsten69420 on 2020/08/15 18:37
There are some great features, and functionality. Setting it up can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you just have to work through the process. The issue I see however is the ability to add functions that my basic Vizio remote already has. I can press the Hulu button on the Vizio remote and it opens right up. I cannot however teach the harmony remote this function. It is already built in for Netflix, maybe they can update the app to feature other hotkeys like amazon prime, Hulu, YouTube and all the others that are available?
Volume keys never work
by g@ppu on 2020/08/15 05:36
All the keys except volume doesn’t work always and inputs also don’t switch properly at times .. I can still manage the inputs but volume keys however I press pair many times it’s still I doesn’t respond .. changed batteries as well so many times still the same Issue
Makes a great piece of hardware worthless
by andykram567 on 2020/08/13 04:07
I didn’t know you could make an app this unintuitive and unusable but Logitech has managed. If I had known how bad the software to program the remote was I would’ve never bought the device in the first place. If you’ve already bought the device and are just downloading the app, I recommend you skip the download and immediately return the remote.
Okay
by I am literally amazing on 2020/08/12 16:11
This isn’t the greatest app, but it’s not completely useless. Most of the time, I am able to get it to work, and then the app works just fine. All of the controls work, and it is nice to be able to change the volume using the volume buttons on my phone. The one issue I’ve experienced is that sometimes it won’t connect to the TV, and when it does this, it tries to make me login to this account. The whole app doesn’t do anything, and the only way to fix this is by deleting the app and re-downloading it. It usually works after that. Sometimes I have to ask family members to try it on their phones because it won’t work on mine. This app is an okay app and could use some improvements.
Terrible
by Mystacroft on 2020/08/10 12:18
I can’t remember how many times this garbage app has failed. It doesn’t connect reliably to a router that is less than 20 feet away from it. I can’t believe this app still has this problem. Hard pass.
Extremely confusing
by RDaneel01ivaw on 2020/08/09 20:36
Different settings spread across different random places. Some settings just don’t work. Some do. No explanation.
Doesn’t Work
by StetzAndrew on 2020/08/09 12:07
So the app is supposed to connect to the Logitech server to update the hub. It never does. Ever no matter how many times you try. Without that the app is useless.
Absolutely terrible app for expensive hardware.
by putertdi on 2020/08/07 02:11
App is unreliable, randomly deletes activity steps, and is nearly unusable. There has been no attempt to update or fix it. Considering how expensive the remotes are, the app shouldn’t be a pile of trash like it is.
Pretty decent
by backtothefuture on 2020/08/06 17:42
Updating my review now that I finally got everything working. Something to note, the alt + f9 reset feature should NOT be hidden. It needs to he more obvious as that was the core of the issue I was facing. Otherwise, the app is pretty great and works well. UPDATE: Things have been working great now that I’ve had it for about a month, no issues, thanks Harmony team.
Nerfed programming breaks everything
by Genesismaster on 2020/08/05 22:30
This nerfed automated scripting system is broken. Without any granular control, to fix locked automated programming errors, these remotes become useless garbage. I have to program work arounds into random, unassigned, buttons to run commands to fix things the “activity” broke. This happens most often when switching activities, as they’ve added a level of intelligence to sense what components are left on. Seems nice on paper, but in practice it sets everything incorrectly or toggles incorrect inputs. Also while programming, since everything posts back, with every single change, I have to waste five minutes programing a single activity. I spend more time fixing the “activity” than I would’ve if I’d granularly selected each step, by hand, manually entering IR codes, guided by instructions from the manufacturer dated before 1980.
Ever going to fix this app?
by Shartmypants on 2020/08/04 03:31
Are you guys ever going to fix the connection issues between the hub and this app?
So much promise. So little delivery.
by Bvan156 on 2020/08/03 23:54
I bought the hub without the remote, as is sold by Logitech. The app requires you add a remote to finish setup. Useful? Nope. Maybe add a skip button. The hub comes with an IR Blaster, so why do I need the remote?
Worst apl ever
by mikephl on 2020/08/01 21:11
Hate it
So bad
by *J.W.B* on 2020/07/30 02:24
Logitech is like the difference between Mac and PC. They are a hardware company that is pretty good at hardware, terrible at software and thus mediocre at everything. The setup process for the Harmony hub is a nightmare. If there was a real alternative in the market they would crush Logitech. This company and the support is absolutely terrible. I’d give zero stars if I could.
Remote
by 1breview on 2020/07/29 04:06
Randomly works. Harmony needs to completely update this remote and software. Over all a poor unit
Terrible App
by HouraniT on 2020/07/26 17:51
3 passwords resets later, I finally have the hub on my WiFi. Now it won’t let me go past that because it detects my old harmony from 4 years ago. Stop outsourcing your software to an Indian company and build it in the US by a legitimate company. This is rubbish.
The most frustrating app
by Dckosnsocnsoal on 2020/07/24 19:24
Frustrating and entirely disappointing app for what is meant to be a simple and easy process. App crashes when I am manually inputing information for TV and does not restart. Can’t get anything to work because of this. Absolutely no way to contact customer support. Horrible.
Limited and confusing
by eunomie on 2020/07/23 00:10
Got the Harmony Elite as a trade for the Express which they are forcibly retiring, and which was working fine for me. Regret the trade and should have taken the refund as this app is close to useless. Am reasonably tech savvy, and this has me going in circles, and the activities setup don’t find the correct HDMI port. Also, remote sits in its cradle saying “set up remote using Harmony app” which I have done, but does not sync.
Garbage
by carmaxxxxx on 2020/07/22 00:25
Doesn’t work. Doesn’t set up. I hate this thing.
No control over connectivity options. No Wemo support!
by TinTin858585 on 2020/07/20 17:43
It does not support Wemo plugs! Are you kidding me?! If device has any combinations or all of IR, Bluetooth, and wifi capability, Harmony setup will not let you choose how you want your device connected and commands set. Example, I want to control my Sony tv via IR, not wifi. I can’t. I want to control my Apple TV via Bluetooth not IR. I can’t. As a result I have other issues. Please don’t send me the instructions for using Bluetooth to control Apple TV. Obviously I’ve tried to follow the terrible instructions, and it never worked.
Great concept- turgid in action
by ShorinSean on 2020/07/20 02:12
I have a Harmony One remote that’s probably 20 years old, and it just keeps on going and going. It even looks pretty new – just fantastic. While waiting for my second replacement battery for this remote, I’m trying to use the Harmony software and hub. It’s incredibly frustrating: slow, inefficient (do you really have to check the hub’s firmware every 90 seconds? Do you really have to go out to the Harmony site every time you wish to edit an activity? I’m not even getting into the UI problems. I gave up. I am using the individual remotes, and will wait for my Harmony One replacement battery to arrive.
If you give it a bad review you’re programming it wrong, but...
by DblJBird on 2020/07/19 03:56
If you give it a bad review you’re programming it wrong, but... Logitech doesn’t always have the delay down for a tv or receiver power up. They don’t always have the commands correct. The thing is, most commands and activities can be customized. BUT, when you hit Select or Pause and some or most of your Lutron lights turn on, or controls another device in another room via IP thats not set up... that’s an issue. Between myself and a handful of my clients, these are situations that are not welcome and unacceptable. They can’t seem to figure these issues out. I understand Logitech is working with hundreds of manufacturers, but when I personally discover the same problems occurring in multiple households it starts to become a problem to me.
Love my Harmony Elite...
by Ghostwriter28 on 2020/07/14 21:59
...but the app has always be an unintuitive for both initial set-up & general activity maintenance. Now that Mac users are forced to use only the app (no compatible desktop software anymore), we’re completely screwed.
Horrible App - Fire your developers and test you products better
by Catlaunch on 2020/07/11 21:37
The harmony app is not user-friendly the set up is horrible and nothing is intuitive. You will have to reset the app numerous times reset the device numerous times and be frustrated in terms of trying to switch between more than one hub in terms of the set up process. In today’s day and age of software development and user interface and user experience harmony should do a much better job of testing its product before release to ensure it’s intuitive and easy to use for consumers The problem starts when trying to connect to the Hub over Wi-Fi that is secured already. The hub will flash read for a while indicating it’s in pairing mode and then randomly stop while you’re in the set up process. You may be prompted to log into your account go through a process of setting up a new device a hub. But it will randomly kick you out and you’ll find yourself free going through the entire process again seamlessly in an endless loop trying to connect to your new hub. When you do finally get a connection and it scans other devices on the network it will ask you if you want to add those devices to your hub. However in selecting those devices and trying to attempt to get them to connect again they were randomly fail in and not connect to your Hub and you’ll find yourself starting over from square one. Once you do get a device set up properly it will still intermittently not always execute commands as desired. And sometimes it will get out of sync with where the device is from a power state or not fully execute the steps in the commands as intended .
Fix it
by AlbNOPI on 2020/07/11 15:54
To pay all that money and not being happy is not good. My question is; Why you don’t make a new design and the new design should be the same as like existing remote control for any device. In IOS 12 and earlier I have controled the volume with the phone buttons, now with iOS 13 no. Can you fix this for respecting your customers.

Volume buttons are completely messed up
by Whippy Flagellum on 2020/07/07 07:48
Some time in the past year something got changed in our system such that when we are in an activity and use the volume buttons on the side of the phone to control our receiver volume, the volume increases slowly but steadily long after letting go of the button. Hold volume up for three seconds and let go? It’ll slowly ramp the volume up until the receiver maxes out and nearly blows our speakers and eardrums. This used to work perfect but not anymore. Volume still works fine when in the device itself (under the devices tab) and on the actual remote, but the actual hardware buttons on my phone now cause complete chaos, and this is how we control volume 99.999% of the time. I’ve messed with repeats, delay settings, etc. Nothing works. Of course the app is clunky like everyone mentions but I’ve gotten used to that. WhT I can’t get used to is this app potentially damaging my home theater system.
Frustrating
by Dooms187Day on 2020/07/03 03:38
I would say I’m above the averagewhen it comes to modern tech. This thing had me bring out the note pad and pencil. I had to track my steps. There was a lot. Not sure if it’s the app, Hub, or there server. This thing just keeps having to reconnect, download setting every time. This should be far easier in 2020. To many steps to program and don’t make a mistake. Even trying to repair it becomes an issue.

Completely broken now 01/26/2020
by Mercyme5 on 2020/06/27 01:40
This app jad been working fine until yesterday when suddenly it seems to malfunction completely. I’ve re-downloaded the app five or six times, it recognizes the hub but none of my attached TV, stereo, etc. as it did just 24hrs ago. It makes up on it own, and I’m not kidding about this, fictitious names for my Wi-Fi network. It uses my name with a numeral one after it. I’ve never use that on any device ever, and even a few moments ago one of the downloads, in fact several of them found the name properly. Now all the sudden that’s impossible. Where it would instantly take me to my controls for my stereo and my TV and my Xbox, it now shows for every component one page but when you check on it, all it gives you is a single page with the up down left right circle a few control icons, none of which work and all of the other controls volume channel etc. etc. etc. are gone. it is completely FUBARED and does not work, thereby rendering the Harmony hub useless and there is no information on the website, or anywhere on the net beyond generic setup. This is true on my iPad my iPhone my wife’s iPhone my wife’s iPad we’ve tried several different devices several different times several different downloads and it is not working it’s completely a waste of time to buy the Harmony hub or try to use this application it couldn’t be worse just couldn’t be worse logitech has a lot to answer for.
Probably the worst setup experience ever
by NickH3324 on 2020/06/26 02:36
I can’t believe how terrible the set up experience is for this remote. It’s confusing, slow, and full of issues. I may return the remote (which is nice as it is) just because the app is so horrible.
Sloppily Programmed
by Opera Critic on 2020/06/23 19:23
It’s deja vu all over again. I happen to have a standard but unusual character in my WiFi SSID. For some reason e with a grave accent (“è”) renders as an underscore and gets changed so the Harmony won’t connect. These are problems from the 1990s. This is the easy stuff, programmers. Let’s get it right.
Works, but completely counter intuitive
by Kyle Johnson on 2020/06/22 16:24
The app works, and I can control my devices using the app or companion remote. But I’ve never seen an app so poorly designed in terms of usability. Options and editing are done like six different places with no rhyme nor reason to where things are hidden. There is no manual, and the support web site is also unfriendly, so I end up doing internet searches every tome I need to do something beyond the basics. It’s like four teams each designed a part separately, and then they had an intern glue it together into one app. For remote control, use the physical remote. Trying to swipe though screens on the app is frustrating, and since there’s no physical feedback, I have to look down to use the remote. So 4.5 stars for the hardware and a negative 3 for the software.
Lost control of AppleTV Gen 3
by markmagoo on 2020/06/22 06:49
Everything has worked fine for several years. Even earlier this evening everything was fine. All of a sudden, I can not control my AppleTV anymore. I rebooted everything and it still won’t work. I can turn on and off the activity, I have volume control, TV control, but no AppleTV. Same results using the remote and the app. Direction buttons, OK button, Play/Pause, Menu buttons are unresponsive. I can switch activities and have full control with all buttons. Something broke, please fix. I would expect more regular updates for an integral part of home control. Last update was a month ago.
Absolute garbage
by MHanby1 on 2020/06/22 00:41
I got this app to use with my newly purchased Harmony Elite remote. I have used older Harmony remotes in the past and although they needed to be plugged into a PC to be programmed, you could actually have control over every aspect of a sequence. Buying the new flagship “elite” remote, I thought I’d have the same functionality in a more convenient and user friendly package, but that is not at all the case. They have tried to dumb down this product so much that it is impossible to get the level of customization needed for anything but a basic setup. If your system is anything but basic, good luck getting this app/remote to work for you. If your system IS basic enough for this app/remote to work, then you don’t need this app/remote! Don’t waste your time and money...
You can do better
by Gustavo2016 on 2020/06/21 01:48
There are a few things that keep this app from being great. It does not represent quality and capabilities that the Logitech brand can offer. Please improve the following: 1. Activities: please allow users to create truly custom activities. Right now you can only go through a guided menu which is useless. For example if you wanted to create and activities to just turn off multiple (but not all devices) you cannot because the guided menu makes you first turn them on 2. All the hub to be able to manually learn from it remotes just like the harmony one remote does Addressing these issues would go a long way to improve this apps very low rating!
Bad...just Bad!

When setting up a home control (SmartThings), You cant even connect to the light switches and Plugs! Logitech has no answers either!
What products do Logitech engineers use?
by 1CamFan on 2020/06/16 03:21
Clearly they don’t ever their own products. What possible company would knowingly sell products that cannot be set up? After having to enter my log in information 5 times, I give up. Worthless expensive product.
Buggy and slow
by Swamplander1 on 2020/06/14 11:44
Login wouldn’t let me change my email address as the previous one it had was incorrect. I had to delete and reinstall the app. Plus, it’s painfully slow & not easy to use.
Terrible
by heyychristiane on 2020/06/11 19:04
When using the left/right and up/down buttons, it doesn’t move just one spot. It keeps going as if you are clicking it several times or holding the button down. Impossible to choose a channel or search for anything!
Slow buggy and barely works
by orhh on 2020/06/11 01:16
Imagine you were trying to screw in a light bulb. In this app, you’d: Sign in with a user account to open the package Wait 30 seconds to load the package Ask for an update Hold the light bulb Wait 30 seconds to download something from the server Walk forward one step toward the lamp Wait 60 seconds to download a hub update Turn up to look at the lamp Wait 30 seconds to save changes Wait 60 seconds to reconnect to the server Crash
Harmony hub users with Mac OS Catalina are forced to use the app to sync
by kmcorbett on 2020/06/08 15:35
Logitech support docs point hub users on Catalina to the Harmony app to do everything - including for example, login to your account and change email address. More importantly, only the app can sync the hub with an updated configuration. Generally it’s a low quality app with a lot of usability problems. But the real problem is forcing users to use an app because Logitech can’t be bothered to keep a couple of Mac OS developers on the payroll. I’ve always looked to Logitech for high quality hardware; their software has always been mediocre. Now apparently their users’ software requirements are no concern to them whatsoever.
Frustrating, but ultimately able to program my devices
by Jlap77 on 2020/06/01 15:36
Was ultimately able to program my remote, but the app crashed numerous times. Please work on the wizard with a control group.
Something broke with haptic/long press
by crizoo on 2020/05/30 19:02
Something broke in a recent update. Before, tapping an icon in the haptic/3d/long-press menu wouldn’t open the app. Now it does. Kind of makes the 3d menu useless. What’s interesting is that if I hold down on the 3d menu icon for 3-4 seconds, the event fires without the app fullyopening, giving me the old behavior
Logitech screws up big time.
by a13x silver on 2020/05/30 16:44
The app wouldn’t be a total disappointment only for the fact that it tries desperately to be intuitive and straightforward, clearly targeting the masses of non-techies, sacrificing flexibility expected by, well, the techies who buy a product like this. That would give the app 3-star “meh” review. However if fails dramatically on both techie and non-techie worlds. I works poorly. For example, it just can’t turn out a PS4 completely, mandatorily keeping it in rest mode. Also it can’t power it on so if you use it to watch a DVD you either have to setup HDMI link or manually power on. Also, its integration with Alexa is very limited and erratic. Those kind of limitation ls would give it a 2-star “sigh” review. The point where logi really screws it up is where numerous customers complain about, on Reddit, logi’s support site, and other forums, but the manufacturer does nothing to fix it, even though it has plenty of resources to do it, especially considering the premium price it charges for the product. Instead, it “solves” the problems by putting notes on its support Web site stating the product limitations. The product is not poorly executed, it’s worse. It’s poorly designed and negligently supported.
The Best Universal Remote
by RCL4 on 2020/05/28 16:50
I just got a Harmony Elite and it is the best programmable universal remote. This app made set up incredibly easy. It found my receivers, my television and my Apple TV’s and set them up to be controlled over the WiFi network, which a much superior technology than it or Bluetooth. I have some very obscure equipment, and the software knew how to set them up automatically. The app also lets me customize the remote buttons so that I have exactly the setup that I want.
So disappointed
by GAB98 on 2020/05/28 11:07
I usually do not write reviews, but I felt compelled to by Logitech. I owned a couple of the Companion remotes, the hardware feels good, but this app is TERRIBLE. It not only takes several times to send the proper configuration to your remote and hub, but you also have to go to several places to accomplish simple changes. What happened to the desktop version? Is someone told them they are doing a good job with this app? So this is my goodbye to these remotes and time to move on... Hello URC or Caavo.
Zero Stars...this App is the worst!!!!
by Unknown person???? :) on 2020/05/27 22:38
One of the most painful experiences ever dealing with an app. Not user friendly at all. Who ever designed this should be embarrassed. The app does not remember you and you have to login to your hub every time you access it. It set up two or three versions of each of my devices and good luck deleting them! You have to go into their server and that takes forever. Absolutely horrible experience!!!! You cannot use the remote itself to do anything. You have to set up everything through the app (Logitech’s recommended method) or directly through your PC. This app is the worst!!
Crashes
by Florjeepian on 2020/05/27 21:49
Tried setting up my harmony remote and can’t keep the app open. Tried downloading again and a hard restart on my IPhone X. No luck, such a large company should not be having this problem.
Flexibility is the key
by kevin.hb on 2020/05/25 22:28
Having spent many years in the custom software business I can say that one of the toughest considerations is how much flexibility should be made available to the end user. The philosophy in designing this app was clearly to offer a LOT of flexibility at the expense of simplicity. I personally like tinkering around with software like this because it allows me to have exactly the experience I want once I’ve got it all customized.
Glitchy, outdated GUI
by roy_33 on 2020/05/21 20:22
This app really is bad, glitchy, outdated GUI, some things were unnecessarily complicated to find, also it could not control my Sony PS, or Chromecast, and if you make changes to your WiFi, good luck!
Just incredibly convoluted and terrible
by Phonograph on 2020/05/21 14:44
This app (and harmony remotes generally) never cease to amaze me with its awkwardness and bugginess. The really awful part is that it’s still the best unifying remote system I’ve tried out... and it’s absolutely TERRIBLE. You can be sure that a “bug fix” will cause at least 2 new ways for the iPad app to crash. They have effectively removed any other way to edit/adjust/update your hardware and settings, other than the app. The app will not work without checking and rechecking your firmware and “connection to server”, frequently crashing during that connection, shortly after, or just completely forgetting your hub and/or stored password. Current newest issue is that trying to re-order operations in an activity with drag and drop (the only way to do it) freezes the iPad and then crashes. Every single time. Not sure about my iPhone. That version of the app refuses to login to servers, and therefore you can’t control your local device. How could they possibly let you control your device without trying to store some personal information about you online, eh? Just, well, terrible.
Problem with configuration
by ac7nj_Randy on 2020/05/20 16:36
Cityboy619 experience is the same problem for me. I’m not new to Harmony remotes with 10+ years experience. The phone app lacks flexibility and has little ability to redo a setting easily. The computer app has all the original flexibility but hangs up when syncing. With multiple restarts and usb reconnecting it will finally sync. Things a just buggy with the iPhone app and remotes
Recent updates broke 3D Touch
by ngenerator on 2020/05/20 15:33
Now when I just want to quickly turn up the volume, the app decides it needs to open rather than just work in the 3D Touch options window. The volume does turn up, but now I have an app open that I didn’t want to open Edit: response to dev response. Yes, the app does open up, and it didn’t used to. It was nice to press the volume up button twice, then once more after waiting 10 seconds rather than the app opening up and now I have to move my finger to press the volume up button in its new location. Was there a new limitation in iOS 13 that requires the app to open up with any touch? If so, I may as well sell my harmony remote and just use the Siri remote
App shuts down on its own

Easy to configure
by P. Machado on 2020/05/20 11:07
The only reason for this app has a low grate it’s probably because of people that does not know how to use tech! I took 30min to configure everything, even with my echo for voice command! Awesome peace of teach!
This is the most god awful app I have ever used.
by I LISTEN TO A LOT OF PODCASTS on 2020/05/20 04:28

Very hard to use. Stay away!!
by theMidnightDisco on 2020/05/18 01:03
I can’t believe they got rid of the desktop app and you have to solely use this to set things up. Many functions are not easy to use and setup.
Clunky setup, stable once set up.
by Speedracerindy on 2020/05/14 02:14
Once it’s set up, the app and system works great and is very stable. But initial setup is clunky. And heaven forbid you need to make any changes. Change your Wifi network, might as well buy a new one. Buy a new TV, set aside an entire afternoon to get it working.
Biggest piece of trash
by Unknownerror on 2020/05/13 01:13
I’m an IT consultant with over 20 years of experience the hardest thing in my day should not be setting up a remote control. This app is the biggest piece of trash I’ve had the misfortune of using. 2 hours after initial setup and I finally got somewhere only after switching to my computer. After setup this app refuses to find the hub for any quick tweaking. If I could give this 0 stars I would.
Terrible App considering its 2018
by Estubb on 2018/12/28 04:06
Ok, so the app does function - most of the time. I have had a couple of times where I have had to remove the hub and re-set it up to work again. But I can live with that minor annoyance. My issues with it are mainly that in this day and age it should be much more user friendly and customizable. Probably my biggest gripe with it is the lack of a portrait mode. Using a tablet in landscape mode, especially with the way the app is set up, is very difficult because all the buttons you use the most are right in the middle where you can’t reach with your thumb while holding the pad. Portrait mode would allow much easier reach ability and, if you think about it, a normal remote is tall not wide. Also, it would be nice to be able to arrange buttons and sections, like the number pad and arrow wheel, how you would prefer them. In other words make the app more customizable, which would make it more user friendly. Instead of a sidebar on each side for activities (left side) and devices (right side), I would prefer a drop down row of icons from the top that you swipe down to view, like the google home hub has for home controls. This would keep them hidden and out of the way except when I need them. In summary, I just think the app needs a redesign, with thought put into it, that brings it into this century...
Your 1st problem ... you got too many remotes and hubs and remote hubs
by Awcress on 2019/09/27 09:43
Mine didn’t harmonize .. I think it’s a solo act. (Bad-a-bump!) Ok so I’m pretty good with tech and figuring out little complex things like this but this was literally ridiculous. I got the harmony touch .... but then I saw somewhere it’s also called the harmony One..(. it’s just the remote with touch screen and no hub.) anywho, 1st problem...Buying it , 2nd problem was it doesn’t work with with the new Apple anything. When logging on and making an account I have the remote saying “put me on the cradle” I have the computer telling me I can’t download said app because it’s not 64bit and is directing me to some forum of people complaining. You can’t do anything with the dang remote until you download the apps and software, so although it’s mighty and has all this power ... I can’t even flip a switch or push a button to connect it to ANYTHING on its own. That’s absurd. Slim down your product line and focus on customer experiences. I had to load parallels on my mac because Even the iPhone app is locked down until the remote connects to a hub (flashes on phone ) that it doesn’t even come with..... bam 💥 too much frustration for a simple device with a few buttons. I’m going to the clapper 🙏👏👏
Steep and long learning curve
by Amex30year user on 2018/04/08 13:51
It has taken me a year to learn how to use this hub. It has been frustrating and dumbfounding at times, but in the end it is a powerful and good hub that can truly control a ton of devices. I have 20+ lights (switches and dimmers), 3 tv’s, 14 Sonos speakers, and fans on this. With scenes galore and geo settings set up thru life 360 it automates a ton of things for us. I use the Z Wave hub as well to control the lights. We also integrate with Alexa and I can verbally control my entire TV sets with cable box and fire tv and Roku even to change channel and adjust volume and music. Of course there are tiny quirks and some small gaps, but overall it is impressive. Occasionally there are app updates that can introduce some minor changes but it is stable for the most part. Logitech has a hard job with all the devices and features and lack of knowledge for consumers so hats off to them. So be prepared to make this a learning experience. It took me a year to get it close to perfect, but I do love it. Learn to research on your own, use google and forums, leverage their Cust service. My wife who is not tech savvy still can make everything work so I’m the end, it’s functional.
Deeply frustrating
by Xyzzy999 on 2020/04/01 06:19
The app is a confusing mess. Options to configure an “activity” are spread around different menus in bizarre ways. Settings that affect control using the remote (Harmony Elite) vs control using the app are completely separate. Settings for the app from one phone don’t move to others, forcing a redo of customizations. And every activity starts showing a bizarre telephone numeric keypad that has to be swiped away to access useful controls (volume, etc.). It also crashes regularly, and often crashes the hub. My basic setup process has involved about 10 reboots so far. Suggestions for Harmony: please treat the phone app as a “remote”, and break configurations into Device/Activity/Remote. For when the app is used as a remote, please give us a set of bitmaps with configurable “buttons” (that can be mapped to commands, hidden, and optionally labeled); the current grid layout is atrociously ugly. And please make everything delectable (eg the telephone keypad is bizarre and the directions/ok aren’t editable). Finally, please make it possible to add additional devices into an activity and clone/copy an activity. I’m giving 2 stars since (after a LOT of fiddling) it’s barely functional.
Terrible app with potentially decent hardware
by Palandorb on 2020/01/19 18:11
This app is so bad on iPhone 11 and iPad... (how bad is it?) ... it is less frustration and time for me to plug in and use an older laptop with Windows 7 to make any changes than it is to *try* to use my up-to-date iphone or ipad. This is coming from someone with 15 years in tech support, sysadmin, sql admin, developer, and now devops release engineer. (A dhcp reserved ip definitely helps a lot of connection issues, but there’s no hope or help for the app itself.) After 6 months of trying to have the smart hub interact with the ps4 in various ways, I gave up and removed the ps4 from its list of devices... It took 4 hours of trial & errors to figure out how to get the app to stop changing the channel when it started the Watch TV activity (the device-specific remotes were fine). The width and angle when aiming of the IR signal from the hub is so narrow that its hard to find a place which isnt blocked by a person, chair, couch, or other object; I resorted to using a camera mount stand just to get the height and angle correct. I also ended up taping the IR blaster to the wall. Within a 12x19x8 ft room, the IR beam either isnt strong enough to bounce off the ceiling or the beam is too narrow, or both, to consistently reach the target devices.
Terrible Setup Process
by TJ in SD on 2019/04/29 07:10
The app works ok once it is setup but that setup process is horrible. Make sure you have the exact make and model number of every AV component you want to use before you start. Then set aside an hour or more because you probably won’t get it right immediately. Don’t even think of just adding one thing to test with because it don’t work that way. This setup was so stupid i avoided working on it for five months before I got tired of seeing the partially open box next to my TV. Then as I’m testing the tv power control, I accidentally activated some other components that caused my tv to stop working until I figured it out. The IR blaster turned on a different TV in another room of my house and partially activated an HDMI bridge between my two TVs. This would cause the signal to my main TV to drop after a few seconds. I only figured it out when I noticed the other TV was on. I was so frustrated with this I got into an argument with my wife and all she was trying to do was help me. Just be prepared for a stupidly long setup process.
Excellent!
by Papa-Dodge on 2018/01/13 17:11
I read some of the negative reviews before purchasing the Harmony ultimate remote with hub. But I took a chance anyway and boy am I glad I did. It took a while to set up. However once I figured out what adjustments to make in the settings in the app and on my equipment (including turning off the Anynet+ feature on all devices which really confuses the remote), everything works flawlessly. I am very impressed with the level of detail that all of the menus have, both in the app and also on the remote. My only complaint might be that the remote control is rather small and which makes it awkward to reach the volume, channel selector, and mute buttons with the thumb. However, after getting use to using the greater swipe functions, these buttons are no longer necessary! I set the hub across the room from my entertainment center and it has had no problems controlling all of my devices. I would recommend this app and the Harmony Ultimate remote highly.
Incredibly poorly made app/product
by Apefragments on 2018/02/09 04:58
I rarely leave app reviews but this app/product is so awful I feel it's my responsibility to warn others. It just doesn't work properly. I have spent hours configuring various 'activities' within the app to do things like turn on my TV, change video source, and raise/lower sound bar volume. These activities rarely work well, and frequently only part of the command will run, resulting in a situation where maybe my sound bar turns on but my TV does not, but harmony now believes both devices are on, so I have to go find my old TV and sound bar remote controls and manually sync everything up. When I try to control harmony via my Google home mini speaker, you need to be perfectly specific with your commands or harmony will not understand them, but harmony sometimes will just tell me that it's 'refreshing my account' instead of doing what I asked. This app and product have made my TV experience vastly more complicated and I'll probably end up throwing it all in the garbage. I am a software emgineer for a living, the people Logitech has working on this should be ashamed of the work they've turned in, it's a truly abysmal user experience.
Very good
by s_albrecht on 2017/09/12 03:14
I bought the Smart Control hardware and set it up with the app on my PC and my iPhone. It was fairly easy to set up because all of my devices were known to the app. I didn't need to 'learn' any commands. However, I moved to the Harmony from the Red Eye hardware because the Red Eye IOS app is 32 bit and IOS 11 will no longer support 32 bit apps, and the company went TU, so updates will be forthcoming. I do miss a few things the Red Eye had however. The set up was via a web page, just like routers have been doing for ... forever. If Logitech was smart they would switch to a web page set up. It is far easier to maintain than multiple apps for multiple platforms. Also I miss the ability to connect to the hardware via IP address from a web browser and have the same control screen as on my iPad or iPhone. Red Eye also had a scripting language that allowed finer control of your devices. That was an awesome feature. In conclusion, Red Eye is a superior device and app and it's too bad it will no longer work under IOS 11. The Harmony is adequate.
Wish activities had separate start and stop buttons
by Hernan1304 on 2018/09/09 21:15
I really wish activities had separate start and stop buttons because it’s easy to get out of sync if someone uses another remote to turn off/on devices. As it stands, if someone turns on my tv and receiver without using the app, the app thinks everything is off. So now if I actually want to turn everything off, I have to start the “watch tv” activity (aka ‘turn on’ the devices that are already on) and then stop the activity (to actually turn them off). Also, occasionally an activity may not fully start (say for example someone was blocking the TV but the other devices turned on or off fine) - it would be nice to press the “start” or “stop” button for that activity again rather than cycle through on/off with a single button per the current model. I realize it’s possible to control each device outside of an activity but it’s a pain. One other small complaint is app button configurations do not transfer to other iPhones using the same hub.
Works well for me
by Moment65 on 2017/11/13 15:29
The reviews almost scared me away. I’m glad that I went ahead and tried the Hub. It’s worked well with every product and activity that I’ve tried. My recommendation is that it’s definitely worth trying as long as you get the Harmony from a source that has a straightforward return policy. For the most part I’ve been able to put away my product remotes and only dig them out occasionally. In some cases I will launch an activity through Harmony and then switch over to a dedicated app to continue. Sonos is an example of that. Hue lighting is another example. On the other hand the Harmony control of Roku is much better than the Roku app. I consider app switching to be so easy that it can’t really be thought of as an inconvenience. The Bluetooth control of a laptop is incomplete, which isn’t surprising, so I’m still figuring out different uses with that part of the app. It’s another situation where I use Harmony to launch an activity and then switch to another app, such as JRemote or Splashtop to continue. My typical use is to have an iPad and a wireless keyboard, with trackpad, as my controllers for an extensive entertainment network. For now everything is working even better than I ever would have predicted. I do understand the frustration from people who are having problems. I’m glad that I’m not having those problems in my system.

Can’t add/edit devices and activities
by Taktishun on 2018/03/31 02:45
App has always worked well for me, but in the last year I’ve had the greatest challenges. It fails in its fundamentals. My hub is connected to WiFi and works as it should, sending signals to my devices and controlling them, except when I attempt to edit or add devices or activities. I keep getting a pop up window telling me I need to be on the same WiFi network as the hub in order to do this. Well, I have only one WiFi router pushing one network through my home and my phone/tablets are all on it, as is the hub. So, I’m stuck. I’ve tried visiting the myharmony website for answers or an ability to access my setup from there, but I’m just directed to download the app I already have, so that’s not helpful when the app can’t function. The “universal” applicability of the harmony hub remote is lost when I’m degraded to using separate remotes to control multiple devices.
Horrible user experience
by di11rod on 2018/12/30 16:30
This is not a refined piece of software. There are typos in central parts of the UI. Coming from the software industry, this screams lack of stringent QA process. This is also evident due to the lack of ability for the app to properly connect to the hub. In my case, the app endlessly loops through sync in progress and checking for changes. No option to cancel or otherwise escape this loop without quitting the app. If you’re reading this review, you’ve probably recently purchased a Logitech remote and hub package. If you can get this to work in your use case, then you should celebrate. In my situation, I have burned through more than three hours in the setup process and am planning on returning this mess. All of this hassle is due to Logitech’s abysmal software. Even just creating an account within Logitech’s online service is an infuriating mess. Like in their desktop app, somehow it prevents the user from typing an @ symbol yet is asking for an email address. How does that get through QA?!? Answer: Logitech has no QA for software development.
Horrible. Enable Siri
by SNance6 on 2019/03/12 22:37
Why this garbage of an app is still available is beyond my wildest dreams. The app takes over one minute to connect to the hub. The more customizations you add the longer it takes the app to launch and become actually usable to control your devices. There is no Siri integration which would make this a 5 star app (ONCE the lag time issues are corrected). Meaning why should I use an app that takes over a minute to connect before I can use it??? Logitech is definitely in the hardware selling business and not the app creation business. Therefore they will never put any meaningful thought into creating an app that actually is worthwhile downloading and using. Anyone who reads this review I sincerely apologize that you have already spent your hard earned $ on a piece of crap remote that requires this awful excuse of an app to setup the remote. I highly encourage you to return the remote to where you got it from and purchase a completely different “SMART” remote.
Disappointing
by Instigator11 on 2017/12/30 15:21
I recently received the harmony hub with a basic remote for Xmas. It’s something I’ve wanted for a long time because I’m always fumbling with multiple remotes in my living room. But sadly, this implementation is way more clumsy than I anticipated. So far I haven’t been able to get the Harmony app to recognize my 3rd gen Apple TV. Also, there’s no easy way with the remote to switch between controlling devices which makes it pretty much just a replacement for one remote, and who needs another remote to add to their pile? The app is not optimized for the iPhone X screen and looks terrible. The app should be rebuilt from the ground up as the UI is counter intuitive and very confusing. It would be nice to have a screen where you have all you devices side by side at the bottom of the app (like iOS normal bottom-screen menu) and controls on top. Simplify. Overall the functionality is there to have an awesome universal remote app, but the implementation and execution is sloppy, ugly and clumsy.
Not for the techno impaired.

Dropped to 2 stars. I have the expansion installed. I’m having to reboot the hardware almost daily. After a reboot, I have to go in and fix half the stuff. It’s just not getting any better. I still stand by my comment the interface needs some work, funky and not intuitive. Forget about reordering steps, I have to do that on the PC. The over all system is sensitive to change and doesn’t respond well when devices are controlled outside the app. An exception is the z-wave support that manages to maintain state due to the nature of the protocol, but it too can be sensitive. The most annoying thing is that I find my self continuously ‘fix’ing steps in activities and rebooting the hardware as it just stops working. As a side note, I use the system almost exclusively via google assistant/home voice integration. Adds an additional challenge as a slight change in the wording of a command can mean the difference between it recognizing the command or not - multiplied by two systems. Over all the integration works pretty well once you understand how to ‘communicate’ with the two systems. But the constant need to power cycle the hardware is getting very old. Again, 30 years in IT, the offer to find quality developers and product managers still stands. This product will die if not seriously reviewed.
Programming activities is just an exercise in futility
by MarcDCMB on 2019/06/01 14:21
Basically, it seems the app is built around the idea that the end-user needs to cajole and fool the app into saving the steps they want. When I first got my Harmony a couple of years ago, I banged my head against programming the activities for a long, long time. Eventually I managed to trick the app into actually saving all of my steps and the activities worked pretty well after that. Recently, Apple decided it wanted to change its menu on the Apple TV. So I had to go in and update my Harmony activities to accommodate this. In trying to add or move any step within an activity I find random other steps are deleted. The disaster seems to be most prevalent if you have the temerity to try to move a step around within the activity. Which pretty much becomes a requirement when other steps randomly vanish and you need to replace them. I just finished another session where, yet again, while trying to add one of three steps that was randomly deleted from the top of the sequence, I found most of the steps had vanished from the bottom of the sequence after I had dragged a new step up to the top. I know if I redo the activity a dozen or so more times I might make everything stick, but there is no way an app in the 21st-century should have these kinds of glitches, especially from this company. There really is no excuse.
This app isn’t nearly as bad as the reviews
by godsgreatestgift on 2018/04/19 12:52
I don’t usually write reviews but it looked like most of the reviews left were by people having their own tech issues. This app isn’t 100% perfect but it’s not rocket science. I’ve got two hubs and multiple devices set up and running through Alexa and Apple Home using homebridge. I’m not a tech person but everything has worked like a charm for over a year now. I wasn’t a major fan of how the system revolves around “activities” but it makes sense now that I’ve gotten used to it. Plus, it’s pretty easy to just click on “Devices” and control devices individually when necessary. Oh, and the finally been updated to the iPhone X UI, which was my biggest pet peeve. Overall, it’s still the best universal remote system on the market right now.
Works perfect !
by LAX20531 on 2018/05/14 23:44
I was very surprised to see the low reviews because it functions perfectly for me, although it goes without saying that Logitech has under delivered for those intending to use an iOS app full time as their remote. Enhancements I’d like are the ability to emulate the primary remote in both appearance (vertical scrolling is fine) and function (macros and long/short presses). The unrealized value of an app like this is the potential for relabeling the remote buttons to define the function I’ve assigned and change the layout and color of the GUI. And portrait orientation for iPhone unless we receive the ability to design the entire display, in which case I could live with one orientation. But the app does function as designed and for that I must give it 4 Stars and deduct one for design.
From love to hate...
by AZ Ben on 2017/08/31 18:34
Prior to this most recent update, I loved the harmony app and the functionality it enabled within my smart home. I have a hub for my theater and one for the den. After updating to the latest version of the app, my Den hub is no longer discoverable in the iOS app. I was receiving a warning stating I must be on the same network (which I am), so I long-pressed to forget and now it can't be discovered. The remote and Alexa control still function for existing activities, which implies that it's connected to the network. I've tried every fix I could find online and it's still not discoverable. Reboot everything, delete app, ensure 2.4 connection, ensure SSID's are unique for 5.0 & 2.4, manual IP entry, etc. Also, when I click Add New Hub, it traps me in a redundant loop of watching the video. Icing on the cake: My Theater hub has the exact same configuration (aside from devices) as my undiscoverable Den hub, yet I can connect to and edit the Theater hub just fine...Please Help!!!
Better than I could have hoped for
by ccus911 on 2018/06/27 09:29
I have steered clear of the Harmony because of PAST reviews, but I guess they’ve got it right because it works fantastic! I have a Denon receiver with separate on and off controls that has always given universal remotes a difficult time...not this one, it operates it flawlessly...setup was simple...i have an LG OLED SMART TV, Direct TV, Apple 4K TV, Sony Blue Ray player, and the Denon A/V receiver...the switching from Direct TV to Apple TV is perfect every time...I only wish they had different appearance themes to choose from or ability to personalize the color scheme/button styles...other than that, better than I could have hoped for...their remote is better than the LG tv remote...and operating from my iPad or my iPhone is great.
New Phone? Tough Luck
by Succinct Periphrasis on 2018/11/19 14:14
I’ve been a Harmony customer for many years and I’m seriously considering selling off all three of my hub/remote combos. Why? Any time a phone in my household is reset or changed, getting the existing, already configured and fully functional hubs to be seen by the Harmony app is near impossible. I’m currently on a new phone wondering if it’s even worth the trouble to get this app working on it or if I should just rely on my wife’s phone or iPad foe this purpose. This entire issue would not exist if this app, which is mediocre at best when it works, would prompt for login to your Logi account at first launch. Instead you are forced to go through a ridiculous process of discovering your hubs, which simply doesn’t work correctly if at all, THEN you can log into your account. This entire set up is ridiculous and the user experience is poor. Come on Logi, don’t you think it’s time to fix this?
So many problems, so little time...
by anabnana on 2017/11/02 00:44
I got the app to work with the Harmony Hub to control my TV, PS4, etc. with Alexa. Setting all of this up took an unreasonable amount of time and Logitech need to drastically improve their Harmony interface, setup clarity and add some tutorials with example activities. Here are some of the problems I have come across using the app: 1. The app is horribly designed. It looks like some kind of default Windows XP program made by a first year CS student. 2. Integration with Alexa is unnecessarily convoluted and requires you to program all of your ‘activities’ first in Harmony, then make those Alexa friendly, and anytime you add a new activity to Harmony you have to redo the whole thing. 3. The Harmony server is slower than molasses. All your commands are on the cloud so you can use either your iPhone or iPad to control your devices. Awesome! Except their servers are constantly down or too slow to be reasonably functional. Just... why? 4. This isn’t their fault, but Sony doesn’t allow the PS4 to turn on with other remotes, because... reasons. There is a workaround though! If you have a CDC HDMI capable TV (like a Sony Bravia) you can boot your PS4 by creating an activity that turns on your TV > “sync menu” > “select”. You will have to play with the delays around a lot tough to get it working right.
Terrible app - limited functionality and Alexa integration is useless
by CrisDencker on 2019/01/05 14:08
I purchased the Harmony Hub to enable a set of equipment in my living room be controlled through my phone and Alexa. To start the large support for equipment is false, because although they are in the database it’s not supported correctly. A few examples: 1) I have an air conditioner but it’s not supported, I had to create a complex configuration to make it work. Furthermore to control it through Alexa I had to create an activity since it doesn’t add a device to Alexa only an activity. That also means that if I start another activity the air conditioner gets shutdown, since the hub and the app only can have on activity on at a time. 2) I have an onkyo receiver that is in the database, but important features such as controlling zone 2 and 3 are not supported. And if I add it as an activity to control it by voice my AC gets shutdown. 3) Apple TV - it’s in the database but does not support many of the commands of the new type of remote such as turning it off with one button. Conclusion, 1) to use it to work with Alexa is not viable because it only add activities and not the devices to Alexa and activities do not work concurrently. 2) to use the app as a Controler also not viable because the usability is bad and the support to control devices is limited.
Harmony is a Joke
by iplndrmi on 2020/02/28 13:50
My dislike for Logitech or Logi is at its pinnacle. For the cost of the remotes and hubs one would expect a functional app but sadly this is not the case. I have one Elite Remote, Hub and Home Automation hub that work so so. This morning I was going to add a second hub on the other side of the house to control another audio system. Apparently that isn’t possible, the app can’t find the hub during setup. The hub turns green at the end of everything but the app still says it needs to be set up. Having to log into my Harmony account EACH TIME IT REATTEMPTS SETUP is ridiculous, EVERYTIME. Hey Logitech, it’s me, the person who two minutes ago entered the correct 24 character password. They’ve made the whole user experience so poor that I’m going to sent the hardware back and go with another solution all together. Stay away from any Harmony product unless you have time and energy to waste.
Awkward, but functional
by n8gray on 2017/09/27 16:24
The Harmony Hub concept is great and the dedicated remote works really well, despite the lack of activity buttons, but this app is very poorly executed. All the functionality from the old Harmony system is there but it’s buried randomly in hard to find corners. On top of that, the non-native UI is ugly and awkward. Having said all that, once you get it set up and install the Today widget (do that!) it works pretty well. The Today widget, which lets you start/stop activities without unlocking your device, is great. For some reason it uses white text & graphics instead of black, unlike every other Today widget, but I can forgive that minor quibble. Every now and then the system will go off the rails and require a reboot, but that’s just the state of gadgets today. (See my previous review below for my experience of such an occasion.) Previous Review: This app used to do the job, barely, but lately it’s gotten worse. The Today widget, which was the best thing about the app, now just says “Failed to load”. When I try to change the settings on my devices it complains that I’m not on the same WiFi network as the hub. Well yes, actually, I am. Lame.
Junk
by Lefty Hokum on 2020/09/16 02:22
All I can do is add a device.
Needs a ton of Work
by Krinko on 2018/10/16 04:25
This could be a great app but to many problems! Can’t delete functions from a device because you have to move forward to sync but no option to delete the function. How stupid, there should be a button to sync remote in any screen the moment you make a change if you so choose too! Navigation is a nightmare plain and simple! Have to go through three menus to change anything! Can’t change home screen of remote. Most importantly it can’t even do the primary function of a remote and that is turning off my tv! If I choose to use remote the app is useless, if I choose mini blaster + hub it won’t turn my tv off! Turns it on just fine!! I gave it 2 stars because I can actually turn things on with one press!!
Okay
by I am literally amazing on 2020/08/12 16:11
This isn’t the greatest app, but it’s not completely useless.
Update Mac Desktop App to 64-Bit!
by AW Bugs on 2020/01/31 06:11
I love my Harmony Elite remotes/hubs but I primarily use the Mac desktop app for programming them because it’s much easier and has features you simply cannot do in this app, such as custom learning new IR remote codes, custom activity icons, etc. I recently updated my Mac OS to Catalina (you know where this is going). Now my Harmony Mac app has a slash through its icon and will not run on the latest Mac OS version because it’s still a 32-bit app. Could someone there please flip the XCode compiler switch to 64-bit and at least try rebuilding your Mac desktop app as a 64-bit app? Please? If you encounter any issues transitioning from 32-bit to 64-bit, they’re probably minor and easy to fix. I really want my Harmony Mac desktop app back! Thank you!
Needs more support
by Servanthood on 2020/01/03 02:32
I’ve had this for about 2 years. Lack of updates have been disappointing. The app has barely changed or made any improvements in that time. In fact I am having more disconnects and times where I need to restart the app than ever before. Disappointed. Better app support would fix these issues but it seems like they just want the initial cash from device purchase with no desire to improve the software. -Updated this to one star. If I could give it zero I would. I am floored by next to ZERO updates to functionality, just look at the version history - “bug fixes”. Logitech / Harmony, this truly makes me question buying any of your tech for the future. Will you support it? Add new features? Probably not, this thing has been mediocre at best with little likelihood for improvement.
Shameful.
by From_Fargo on 2018/12/26 06:20
Logitech is a large electronics company, who has the resources to create wonderful products. Which makes the interface, bugs, and overall lack of polish related to this app and the hub software is astounding. Unfortunately they are the “leading” home entertainment control system, and therefore I have to use this terrible excuse for software to configure my remote/ hub. I plead with any Silicon Valley (and beyond) engineer with too much free time: Make an Eero styled version of this system (without gimmicky remotes) and force Logitech to buy you. Or Logitech (I write this knowing your 3rd rate “support” / “customer service” will never read this) spend the money on fixing this dumpster fire and do right by your customers. Your app has 2 stars - fire the product manager on this and put a 12 year old in their place. I’m willing to bet it’d be better.
Cool idea, good product, terrible app
by Cendrizzi on 2017/12/03 05:13
This app is clearly not native. Every now and again a title bar will disappear. Scrolling is pathetic and slow, and without inertia. They have this bizarre backward and forward convention up top that breaks all other well understood convention on iOS. If you add or change a device be prepared to recreate all activities and remove the old ones because the activities are tied to the initial devices. Hope you don’t want to customize the buttons shown after you pick an activity like you could do with harmony of old because I haven’t found a way (there is a chance this is possible but their user experience is just that bad). This app is a hot mess, only redeemed by a pretty great idea that generally works once you labor through setup.
Reliable and stable but...
by Paacalg on 2018/09/30 13:27
Works really well, connects easily to hubs without wasting anytime and very reliable. A must have when you have a sat receiver shared by two or more rooms I would have given it 5 stars if the device screen arrangements were better. For instance when controlling a directTV receiver the various functions are scattered over 5 pages you have to scroll between, most of the pages being half empty. Swipe to page 4 to find the guide button, then back to page 2 for the arrow or page up/down and to page 1 to enter a channel number. Then back to page 4 to press info. And one final swipe to page 2 for OK. Silly
Works great
by jwatrach on 2018/02/22 04:54
Update: I have purchased a second Harmony set up for my basement. Works great. But I wish the stupid app was better. You need to have the option to show multiple hubs on screen so I don’t have to go to “switch hubs”. Have a split screen with at least 2 hubs. Which ever one you power on, it changes to that individual remote. C’mon guys. Less clicks is more. I am amazed. I have had all versions and costs of Logitech remotes. This is the least expensive one I've ever had and the best. The app is lightning fast, it works far better than my $400 Harmony One. I will be buying a second one for my man cave.
Complete garbage
by okcomputerface on 2019/03/25 00:51
About one in ten times, the app finds the hub. You can then access the activities and I reckon do everything the app has to offer. Here's the kicker: after this one in ten moment, the app starts reporting that it can't detect the hub. Re-scan, still can't find it, restart the app, still can't find it, restart the hub, STILL can't any find it. Hub is connected to WiFi no confirmed no problem. Then I just go back to my other remotes until a month or so later thinking hey maybe they have this pile of trash working. Nope. I actually bought the add-on remote thinking well let's just use a physical remote directly supported and integrated with the hub. But because the hub doesn't work you can't set up the gd remote. There should be a lawsuit about this line of products. It's that bad. Stay away from the hub and the app.
Very frustrating app and remote!
by Sir-Cooper on 2019/12/06 16:52
I have purchased many Logitech products and this app certainly doesn’t do anything for Logitech’s reputation. When it’s works it can be very frustrating to use because its not very user friendly. About every 3 months I have to remove and reload it sometimes 2-3 times. At times it will show it needs to sync the remote to its base but it will not do so unless I remove and reload the app. I have three relatives also with this remote and use this app that also have similar issues. It just seems like for the cost of the remote Logitech would provide a much better app. After 2 years the remote and app will be permanently out of my life.
Makes the complex much easier
by cohenjor on 2017/10/07 17:25
Home theater setups are inherently complex. So many different pieces of equipment by so many different manufacturers using a combination of Bluetooth and WiFi and infrared receivers. I got a Harmony Hub and I was impressed with how easy it was to set everything up. It takes a while - there’s no magic way around the complexity - but I can’t really see how anyone could make it any easier than Logitech has done with their Harmony lineup. Now that my home theater is working well, I’m seriously considering - for the first time ever - getting more smart devices like an Echo.
Horribly thought out use cases
by Grimmz27 on 2017/11/06 21:58
Had the app for a couple months now and its mind boggling why so many features either don't work or have certain caveats that make it unusable. For example, why can't users insert a delay anywhere in the sequence, I have my power strip connected so that when my TV is off so is everything else. This means I need a delay build in so that the stereo and other devices can get power to receive their ON command. Half the time I turn on my system the tv turns on and nothing else. Another problem is the app is completely unintuitive. You have to click through terrible edit menu's just to update an activity. The connectivity and concept are great but this app needs a ground up reboot with some serious reengineering . It looks like it was built as an afterthought.
🤬 Avoid 🤬These 🤬Products
by Yen4Geneva on 2019/08/02 00:11
Upgraded Harmony home to the Harmony 950 for Christmas 2018. Stopped working completely July 2019 - further, the ir end got extremely hot. Hub configuration "died", too - it is unable to remove the dead remote and unable to reconfigure the hub as it dead-ends trying to connect the dead remote. Logitech's app gives you no way around this. Reloading the software is useless unless you create a new email address (it prompted me to log in, then dead ended again). Support links on logitechs website do nothing until you allow unfettered cookies and disable pop-up blocking (Bing). Help desk attempted to reroute me to a reboot cycle that's failed repeatedly. Harmony products are a great idea ruined by glitchy firmware, poorly designed software and dreadful customer service.
Works!
by cameck on 2018/03/26 12:28
Overall I like having this. I integrate this with Alexa but there’s a problem. I have different devices on different HDMI ports. When waking the TV I suppose it hits the HDMI command before the TV finishes turning on and I can’t figure out how to get it to wait for the TV to turn on before initializing the HDMI command. Edit: Setting a tv delay fixes this problem. My only other small feature request is to clean up the remotes for the different devices in the app. I honestly find them unusable but it’s not a big deal as I can just use the hardware remote.
Broken Widget
by iquiz on 2018/05/04 03:52
This app for my iPhone WAS great but now the widget is broken and always says connecting to harmony hub, but never connects. I was excited when I saw this function initially on the iPhone since it was one of the big reasons I loved my Note 6. The ability to control things from my lock screen is a huge selling point for me. All still works fine, just really missing the widget working. Please fix this Update: The developer reached out to me, provided a solution and was very responsive. Problem solved. Thank you!

I try to connect my harmony app to the hub and they not find i try everything ,but finally i connect the cable to pc and using the software to setup ,when i discover the that harmony using only 2ghz internet that's why they dont find my devices here at my home , only device they find is the my old Samsung smart that still on 2ghz , everything at the house is on 5ghz ,know if i want to use the harmony i gonna need to downgrade my internet on every device ,other thing is even my smart i cant turn then off or on using the device, using the net .my harmony is on my bedroom i think at the first time they gonna work on both ways by IR or over internet ,what if i want to control a tv on my bedroom and turn of the tv on living room? the IR has a cable to the hub i cant put one in each room maybe i miss the point , or a configuration ... I'm I using that wrong? I bought the harmony thinking they work like this connect the hub somewhere in the house like the living room to be able to control even old devices by IR and control everything else by net , and using the remote whatever I'm in at the home
Works fine
by jmy12 on 2020/02/15 14:45
I got the harmony hub and app. Had no trouble setting up activities and device profiles. It works incredibly well for the money I spent. All of my I devices have no trouble accessing the profiles and activities I set up. The interface isn’t customizable, but it is functional. The list of device profiles is extensive, so unless one has some really obscure device, nobody should have trouble. And I’m not sure what the person who was complaining about “no portrait” mode on the iPad. Last time I used it there was.... Any way, very functional for the money.
Terribly buggy app
by elimoon8 on 2018/11/27 03:18
I don’t use harmony to control entertainment devices and mainly purchased it to replace the remotes for fans, etc. I have spent time repeatedly trying to teach Harmony commands from my remotes, but despite it showing that it has successfully learned the command, commands fail to execute...or a device will turn on properly and never turn off again (despite the original remote using the same button for on/off) and none of the other commands will work. Somehow my Dyson fan has also gotten into a state where turning it off in the app is the only way to turn it on...and turning it on turns it off. I work in tech and the fact that an app can be this buggy makes me question Logitech’s QA process and commitment to this device.
Love it!
by Fxerman on 2017/12/12 04:14
I purchased a new Harmony hub with remote since I have used the Harmony One for years with success. This app ties it all together and makes setup far easier than the old method of plugging your remote into a PC to program it. Took me about 10 minutes to set it up and it copied all my previous remote settings to the new one with ease. The app is easy to navigate and covers all the bases for tweaking your setups. I paired it with Alexa and now have voice control for using the entertainment system. Keep up the good work Logitech!

Connecting to servers
by jbell1013 on 2020/10/03 19:25
Connecting to servers. Connecting to servers. Connecting to servers. I’d love to actually use this app, but I can’t because... connecting to servers.......................

HOMEKIT SUPPORT❗
by PSYCH0SPYD3R on 2020/09/16 18:24
Can we get some Apple HomeKit support.
Junk
by Lefty Hokum on 2020/09/16 02:22
All I can do is add a device.
Error E2008
by iscrawler on 2020/09/11 02:58
9/10/2020 4:00 On a second run - Get provision failed.

Bad...just Bad!
by Darth Flan on 2020/06/20 21:04
When setting up a home control (SmartThings), You cant even connect to the light switches and Plugs!
App shuts down on its own
by AVGUY3 on 2020/05/20 15:04
Installed update and the app will open for about 10 seconds then shuts down.
Easy to configure
by P. Machado on 2020/05/20 11:07
The only reason for this app has a low grate it’s probably because of people that does not know how to use tech! I took 30min to configure everything, even with my echo for voice command! Awesome peace of teach!
This is the most god awful app I have ever used.
by I LISTEN TO A LOT OF PODCASTS on 2020/05/20 04:28
It takes 15 taps to change the volume on my sound bar. Can I please have a shortcut to the ONE thing I want this app to do?

Love it!
