Great tool for the beginner and more advancement player alike. Simple, fast, and easy to change to learn basic strategies for different table rules. Someone could use this for several hours on the plane going to Las Vegas and end up doing pretty well at the real thing.

Incomplete as a training tool.
by Foreman Mike on 2019/01/25 00:03
This app could be very useful if it would tell you why you were wrong or right and what the correct move would be and why it is correct. As it is now, it’s like praising or scolding someone without letting them know why. It definitely needs work.

You can set up the table rules to match where you play. It tracks your progress in a spreadsheet to see the % of mistakes made on exact hands vs dealer show card. Fast game play. The best.
Could be Perfect
by hhuxx on 2018/05/18 16:08
Highly agree with some of the others here. The interface is slick, it’s nice to use but two simple updates could really make it perfect. 1. Explain what the correct move should be when you get it wrong. Instead of saying “never hit in this situation” say “always double in this situation”. I don’t want to keep going back to the strategy table to remind myself. The trainer should help you out! 2. Have the option of playing through a hand!! I want to also train going through multiple hits and train how to handle those situations. I know technically the decisions are exactly the same as a regular hand, but it’s good to get the math and decisions down faster when you have situations such as a split pair and 3-4 cards on them.

I’m headed down to the casino soon and would like to play some blackjack without screwing up table betting etiquette or my wallet. This app has me understanding the decisions and you can pinpoint training on pair hands or soft hands. Not receiving the hit card or receiving the dealer hole card is fine. In fact not seeing reinforces decisions rather than contradicting them.
It is just OK
by DigitalOz on 2018/01/13 02:42
Two improvements would make this fantastic: 1. Explain why a hand should or should not be played instead of just telling you that you should or should not have played it. The app does not explain why the play was good or bad. So you have to go research that on your own. 2. The game should let you play through instead of stopping you after your first decision. Some hands may require multiple decisions before it’s over and the trainer should train that too.

by JM0160 on 2018/01/06 01:15
The app tells you whether you got the first move right or wrong, but doesn’t allow you to play out the hand. For instance, if the dealer has a 8 showing, and you’ve got a 2 and a 4, you would hit, but that’s a hand that potentially needs to be hit several times. I think it needs to allow you to fully play out the hands, so you can learn when to split again, double a split, etc.
Great trainer
by Geos1953 on 2018/01/03 00:09
It provides an opportunity for the trainee to learn the blackjack basics that can be taken to a casino. You may not make a fortune but you will certainly be able to get your fill of drinks before your $100 chip expires. The only thing it doesn’t do is teach you when to fold.

Absolutely fabulous app. Worth the money for the pro version that you can practice Pairs and Soft Hands which are crucial in making the right decisions to turn a profit over the long haul. I'm now up to 657 correct decisions in a row. The one I missed was doubling a 9 vs 2. It's the correct play in double deck dealer standing on soft 17, but not 6 deck hitting soft 17. This trainer has improved my game beyond words.

by NoMiRec on 2016/04/15 22:56
This app would be perfect if it had any sort of reasoning as to why a move is correct or not. With that context you're really set up for success. But just memorizing specific situations is really difficult to relate when facing the dealer.
it's rules don't always match my basic strategy guide
by jasonm1997 on 2016/03/27 02:00
It's fantastic and helps me tune play well. However, it tells me I am wrong once in awhile when my strategy guide tells me I'm making the right move. It should provide a tip sheet of what play advice it's trying to give. Also, I'd pay an additional fee to play a FULL hand and then be rated by it, not just to end on the first choice in given. Overall though, it's worth the money over free version.
Black Jack Strategy at its finest
by mhopkins79 on 2016/03/22 03:42
If you want to learn fundamental black jack strategy, this app is a straightforward fun way to learn. Every hand has a correct play based on statistical outcomes and you begin to learn these as you use the app. This app is a teaching tool as advertised.
Don't buy
by Studly Stu on 2016/02/24 17:54
App is pretty lame. It doesn't teach you anything, it just lets you know if you made the right move or not. It's like taking a test without taking the class.
RE: Negative Reviews
by timdavis130 on 2015/12/26 23:42
For those who have left negative reviews, I don't think you understand what this app is for. If you want to practice your basic strategy decisions, this is actually a good app for that. You don't need to see the outcome of the hand to know if you made the correct decision. Also, there is not logic behind all these decisions to learn. They are based on the mathematical best outcome and that is all the explanation that can be given for them.
Don't buy this app.
by Therealkenwest on 2015/12/23 01:36
It's really misleading. No real instruction or context to the hands that get dealt.
So wrong on obvious plays
by TK 1 on 2015/10/09 02:08
This app is absolutely ridiculous. So wrong on so many OBVIOUS strategies. Also, you can't even play a hand to completion. It only lets you decide to hit/stand/double/ or split, then if it feels you were wrong it gives no logic for their call. Stupid. Waste of time.
Very Good App, but.....
by DallasRob1 on 2014/08/30 23:33
Nicely presented and very logical and has a nice summary of your longest 'correct play streak'. On iPad, the 'surrender' button doesn't work. On iPhone, the strategy table is correct, but the play doesn't match. Specifically, on 18 vs dealer Ace showing, strategy table says 'stay' (on late surrender setting), but response says 'wrong' should have surrendered. Same thing happens when dealt 19. This is particularly aggravating since it messes up your longest streak record. Please fix this ASAP. Thanks!

Just ok

It would be great if...
by NoMiRec on 2016/04/15 22:56
This app would be perfect if it had any sort of reasoning as to why a move is correct or not.
Thanks!
Great learning tool

This app is awesome- streamlined interaction helps you learn quickly. You don't play out the entire hand so it is super fast.
Good training app
by PG52000 on 2018/03/25 20:40
I’m headed down to the casino soon and would like to play some blackjack without screwing up table betting etiquette or my wallet. This app has me understanding the decisions and you can pinpoint training on pair hands or soft hands. Not receiving the hit card or receiving the dealer hole card is fine. In fact not seeing reinforces decisions rather than contradicting them.
Not full experience
by JM0160 on 2018/01/06 01:15
The app tells you whether you got the first move right or wrong, but doesn’t allow you to play out the hand. For instance, if the dealer has a 8 showing, and you’ve got a 2 and a 4, you would hit, but that’s a hand that potentially needs to be hit several times. I think it needs to allow you to fully play out the hands, so you can learn when to split again, double a split, etc.
Good Training App
by Benman45 on 2020/03/08 15:22
Great tool for the beginner and more advancement player alike. Simple, fast, and easy to change to learn basic strategies for different table rules. Someone could use this for several hours on the plane going to Las Vegas and end up doing pretty well at the real thing.
Worth it, great app

If you win just one more hand of blackjack at a casino at some point in your life because of this app, you’ve seen a return on your investment.
Great App

Great for learning the game. An improvement would be the ability to practice only the ones you miss.
Love this training app!

I’m new to blackjack and I was making so many mistakes before I started using this app. Now I’m winning more games then I ever have.

BS (basic strategy) is easy to learn and confirm with this app. You can set table rules, immediate feedback when playing. Just a wonderful free app.
Best App Out There for Mastering Perfect Strategy
by McFlySoHigh on 2018/05/21 13:52
You can set up the table rules to match where you play. It tracks your progress in a spreadsheet to see the % of mistakes made on exact hands vs dealer show card. Fast game play. The best.
Not enough gameplay for the price
by Cosmiquemuffin on 2019/09/02 23:17
I expected (from a paid game) to be able to train with full games with guidance throughout, not be told pass/fail at the initial deal only. So not fun. Want my money back.

Only tells you if you are right or wrong and does not tell you why. Does not let you play out your hand, only first card dealt. 1/5
Wrong Info
by Vlobe on 2018/12/22 02:05
Dealer shows 5 against a pair of 5’s It says never hit because 5 is dealers worse card WRONG You always hit on a pair of 5’s You can not bust and will only improve your hand I would DOUBLE
