Premium functions don’t function - no customer support
by A User of iPhone Apps on 2020/07/22 10:15
I paid for premium and the app’s premium functions remained locked off. I tried restoring the purchase and reinstalling to no avail. I also tried creating an account but every time I submitted a name and password the app just hung. Finally I contacted customer support via email and I received an email that the recipient’s mailbox was full or was receiving too many emails. Refund.

Would love to see this app updated and it’s flaws fixed.

Do not buy crash crash crash
by Lu(ky on 2019/08/23 01:12
When it worked it was great but after moving to the newer IPad Pro 11” it will NOT work crash after crash. I remembered when APPLE use to care about these app creators and when they were not up to standard they will kick them off tell they fixed it. Now you pay with your hard earned money to get robbed with APPLE watching and doing nothing.
Can’t Log In to account
by winstonoboogie on 2019/03/21 23:29
Was starting to have issues with the last operating system not bring not able to open properly but now I can’t even log in with this newer version that supposedly “fixed bugs”. I keep getting a message that there is “no internet connection” when I have full bars! This is so frustrating. Have lost 6 years of work. Thanks, Curator!
beautiful, elegant, efficient
by Elektrius on 2019/02/25 15:08
please update for new screen sizes - iphone X and XR — love this app and use it a lot for visual studdying, nice simple elegant way of adding notes to every image in the board. clutter free and enjoyable. some issues here and there but developer is nice and responsive. beautiful fonts. no other app like this in the app store
BIG OOOOFFFFF
by Anthony Peebles on 2019/01/27 14:21
I thought this app which be great (which it is). But something felt strange about it, so I read the 2.6 star rating and reviews, and now I know why. The app CRASHES CONSTANTLY, especially on the login. And the fact that people have spent so much time and money, and yet a year later the developers still don’t care makes me lose my mind.
Great idea but Constant crashes and unreliable
by geof1564 on 2019/01/20 09:43
It is such a great idea. This app has a future if they put effort into fixing all the bugs and making it stable. There is no app like this in the market but it seems they can’t see it’s profit before someone else gets their idea and actually keeps up with it. I bought the purchased version and it worked fine but i after an update I lost my boards and it wont even sync across devices like it promised. Feel so cheated out of my money but uninstalled it as all the time spent on the boards was wasted.
Does not slide
by imagin8r on 2018/12/14 04:55
Why would you go to the trouble of making this and not allow people to insert slides? You can only replace them? It’s completely counterintuitive to what people would use this for. Seems like it would be an easy fix no? I just finished doing 26 slides and I want to insert something between four and five. 🤦‍♂️

There is nothing like Curator in the world of apps. It’s indispensable for my projects. Thank you, Curator!
No drag and drop support
by arronhunt on 2018/03/22 18:44
Can’t take this seriously as a professional tool without drag and drop on the iPad. Having to save images and upload them is too cumbersome to make this app useful.
It was great but useless now.
by Upset B on 2018/03/06 03:05
It totally screwed me with adding websites to my boards. Now it is just google searches when I paste in URLs. Totally ruined s great app.
I want my money back

Please refund my money. This app is horrible.
Constant crash and buggy updates
by flyte44 on 2017/10/21 12:24
Put my faith into this concept app from the start, but the good idea was just too good for the company to keep up with. Constant updates to fix ever present bugs, coupled with Apple’s changes, leads to a design that looks good from the outside with Pinterest-like boards, but under the hood there’s nothing but a monthly bill and half-filled promises of exports, back-ups and new features. All glitz. Call an exterminator for the bugs. Don’t put any effort into the creation of boards or albums. They will be gone next time there’s an update or when you restart. Their promise of having back ups is reliable with its unreliability.
Great for brainstorming visuals
by coltonjean on 2017/08/15 16:01
We use this to plan any sort of visual media project. It's pretty simple and straightforward. Keep it up Curator!
No
by iCaliT on 2017/07/24 15:42
This app is so limited. One can't manipulate the boxes (either by size or placement) and the orientation is only vertical. It doesn't save cleanly (header at top). Pass.
Complete rip off: highlighted as a great featured app for iPad 10.5
by 4321blastoff9876 on 2017/06/24 01:41
I will fight the charge of $19 for this useless pos. I bought premium thinking it would add the missing functionality. No difference between the basic and the premium!!! Don't fall for it
Could have been nice.
by Iguanabytes on 2017/06/23 15:56
Saw this app featured on the Keynote when the iPad Pro was released. Thought it would be great for organizing and presenting. I keep returning to it thinking it may have been fixed, but no. Doesn’t sync, if you looged out you can't log back in. Every other app will prompt you with some sort a password help. Curator is eternally frozen. Zero customer support. Could have been a great tool.
Sync hasn’t worked for months. All my work is just…gone.
by grettir on 2017/05/18 07:13
Curator’s back end appears to have been abandoned completely. The sync service hasn’t worked for months. You might be tempted to try and use it as a standalone app, but the other day I launched Curator and it had reset itself to defaults. And since the sync service is dead, all my work is just…gone. The abandonment of Curator is especially painful because there are really no other apps that do what Curator did. It was brilliant while it lasted.
Beautiful App
by Bluerroses on 2017/04/25 22:40
Curator is a clean, minimal app that's perfect for curating, organizing and ordering images for exhibitions and publications. I haven't found any other app that does the job so easily and efficiently. I haven't experienced any problems such as crashing. I'd love to see a few more features in the future, such as the ability to create duplicate boards and copy images from one board to another.
Nice Ui for useless app
by rbpwll on 2017/02/28 06:20
It looks nice. That's it. PDF export does one image a page. Board doesn't hold an image from a webpage which defeats the whole purpose of a visual bookmarking app. Also only opens sites inside the app itself and you can't get out. If you end up clicking another link while stuck in their garbage browser there are no back buttons so you've just lost your bookmark. Login and sync doesn't work. Confoundingly incompetent integration of its only features. It doesn't need to do much but can't even do that well.
No longer Syncs
by ViolenceIncorporated on 2017/02/18 15:26
Wish I didn't pay for the lifetime subscription. App no longer syncs with my iPad or the servers. Many photos lost, and customer support took a month just to tell me they can't help.

It just crashes...buggy. not worth the money. Lost 19 bucks! Today is December 5th 2016 and Curator is still buggy. I want my money back. It does not work. A one star represent a useless app, like what curator is. It does not work. Now is Feb_2017 and begin to see improvements. as of the last update curator havent crashed yet. I will give it three stars and will com back later with updates on my experience on Curator

The best notes app: flexible, simple... To create powerful ideas.
A nice ideas and inspiration board
by galtenberg on 2016/07/16 15:44
The app has a nice, clean, museum-like feel and style to it, which I appreciate most of all. There's a lot of flexibility with content, text, images. The sync between phone and pad works great - the subscription options (monthly and forever) are appreciated and bring in even more advanced features. Highly recommended. A few interaction and smoothness issues left to solve, but already pretty close to perfect.
Great Idea but slides malfunction on IPAD
by henlamalatang on 2016/03/15 08:14
I paid for the app and I love the idea except two parts. A: The controls to change the background and text size disappear after a slide or two and you have to reboot to get the ability to not have billboard sized lettering or a grey background in your slides. B: You can not insert slides between other slides. You can only move slides around or exchange places. This severely limits your ability to move things around. If these two things were addressed I would highly recommend this app. It's great for creating slides super fast then organizing them. Also, the authors don't reply to your complaints. So, good luck with this one.
Fairly handy

Beautiful, minimalist, perfect for artists
by Bn29076 on 2016/01/28 01:32
I honestly am obsessed with this app. It's perfect for someone who likes to think visually and see all their ideas in one place at one time. Normally I would have physical sticky notes and pieces of paper scattered all over my desk but Curator lets me have that creative freedom without the mess. My one suggestion would be to make available the option of deleting or resizing the default grid rectangles. Not every project will need that many spaces in that size.
Brilliant
by RMReborn on 2016/01/27 06:10
Indispensable tool for any creative.
Nice idea, but it just doesn't work.
by TWDom on 2015/12/29 14:55
This app has good potential, but the implementation falls way short. I thought I could use it to collect a bunch of my favorite sites together, which it does do, but when I go to get updated pages on those sites, it freezes all the time. I have continually reset the app to get back into the site, but after a few seconds it just freezes again. Also, when on a webpage, I would have thought it would let me copy a picture from the site, but that basic functionality doesn't work either. It would be nice to be able to copy a picture right from a site and have it show up with the rest of the other curated things. Same with text. I gave it 2 stars because there is some potential here.
It helps
by On-One on 2015/10/28 13:36
I'm a contractor. So when I'm Putting estimates together it helps to have pictures and descriptions of the products that I will be using on the project. It would help to have 3D Touch option to zoom in on pics and "pop" it. 😉
not functional
by Panget ka on 2015/10/15 13:44
I have an iPhone 6 running ios9. I cant drag blocks or add content. When I try to type a note the keyboard goes away. The only thing That seems to work is pinching blocks to zoom. there is also some lag, it seems to freeze at some points. maybe im doing something wrong?
responsive app support
by aka_dr on 2015/10/01 21:11
this app couldnt have come on a better time for me. its amazingly fast and handles all of my mixed content all through the support of one icon. if your into short-tasking then this is the app for you!
Great concept but crashes more than Lindsay Lohan
by franzen on 2015/09/24 20:08
Really want to love it but for $5 month the instability is painful.
Just...ugh
by _chelsearedd on 2015/09/24 04:12
Went from bad but useable to terrible. Links out to Pinterest, cool, choose the images I want and then there's no button to actually put them in curator. Somebody in UX needs to be fired... Deleting the app.
Just a doubt...
by Mariannette160 on 2015/09/22 19:08
I think instead of "organise" it's "organize".it might not even be a mistake but I'm really confused😂
Can't use it
by MBLem113 on 2015/09/21 15:29
Would love to try out this app, but when I try selecting a photo, I just get stuck on the select page and have to cancel everything. Basically nothing happens when I select a photo. Sooooo, kinda useless.
Love it
by Josefinabolano on 2015/09/19 11:49
I love this app, is very useful for me as a designer. I recently subscribed to premium but wish I could export the whole board as a PDF and not just the individual images. Maybe that option can be integrated in the next update. As a creative I love making mood boards and printing them and this app is almost perfect for that.
Great for artwork and really anything!
by Iggy--e on 2015/09/06 01:32
Curator is absolutely great for someone like myself. I use it pretty exsclusively for my artwork. I would buy premium if I had the money but the Basic plan really isn’t limited at all! I use it almost everyday to categorize and plan.
awesome app

I've been waiting for someone to develop app like this!
by champ48 on 2015/08/23 00:02
I don't understand the complaints of $5 per month/$45 yr for premium version. Initially before really playing around with it, I too was annoyed at the fee. But I changed my mind after using it a few days and I'm glad I upgraded. As a very visual person, it's exactly what I need. Having all my ideas, thoughts, photos etc laid out in front of me as a cohesive group, rather than having to look at that same info in separate files, increases my productivity and gives me fewer chances to get distracted. Comparing it to Pinterest, as one reviewer did, doesn't even make sense. Apples and oranges. Curator app is well worth $5 per month IMO. I can't wait to see where the developers take it next.
Links to Sites?
by Koob H on 2015/07/29 16:46
Great little app. Nice interface and captures webpages really well. My only request is that the app would capture the website link so I could click into it from the app. Also videos? I agree the subscription pricing seems a bit much. I'd pay for this app one time, but needs more options to justify a monthly recurring fee.
Ridiculous
by Adam Slechta on 2015/07/13 13:49
A reoccurring monthly fee is absolutely ridiculous for this type of app. Most apps have a $1-$10 fee for upgrading to a "premium" version.. Which I would be okay with. However for $5 a month or $45 a year, Curator will give you the ability to use Bigger boards, Group Collaboration, Unlimited Syncing, Re-order boards, and Export high quality PDF's. I feel like re-ordering boards should be built in already. The "premium" version is just a huge rip off.
Nice idea, poor execution.
by Kyzr66 on 2015/07/05 20:04
I liked the idea of being able to think through an idea by grabbing pieces of info from the web etc and arranging them within a grid. But adding text, links or pictures should be fluid and not get in the way of your train of thought and unfortunately this app consistently derails it with a clunky UI. For instance, selecting and importing images from a web search is not an easy or clear process. It's also a mystery how the app decides which image it will display in a tile or how it will be cropped. I also get "not connected to Internet" errors when trying to add images from Flickr.
Amazing!
by Eirelavart on 2015/06/23 04:24
One of the best apps I have on my phone! A perfect app for any artist or person looking for organization!
I really want it for IPhone 4
by Gord On on 2015/06/22 19:52
It is a great app. I used it on iPod touch. Can't complain. I would love to see it available for the older phones (there is a lot of us like that). There is an option to download previuos version, but it fails to install.
Not Worth The Momey

Counter a terribly misguided review
by vcayenne on 2015/06/14 18:10
Like the review I aim to rebut, I downloaded this app only to be able to review. The other reviewer made a great deal of their role as an educator and their disappointment in an app that started out by promulgating an "incorrect" spelling of the word "organise". In fact, their myopia does great disservice to the app. For the other reviewer's education, I'll offer that many words have spelling that differs across the continents - the British spellings are: organise, centre, colour, honour, empathise, aluminium, encyclopaedia, and so on. A developer has no mandate to specifically adhere to American simplification. And it is really, really unfair to take someone to task for something that merely reflects one's ignorance (literally, I trust, so no offense offered) of geographic/cultural differences and truths. Personally I' d be happy if both our reviews were summarily deleted as neither really is based on the merits of the app itself.

How do you easily use this app? I was pretty excited when I read about the concept. I tried to use it for about 20 minutes and gave up. There seems to be no easy way to interact with the UI. It isn't intuitive and nothing worth using unless you pay allegedly. The free version drove me away rather than pull me in.

by zacbdct on 2015/06/09 19:50
Can't paste a URL into the field. Have to search and re-find where you are trying to pin. That's a miss. Also we need native 'Add to Curator' in the iOS sharing pane
To the British chick who reviewed this
by Rkdsn on 2015/06/09 06:47
You realize/realise that what you are asking for is British spelling right? Lol haven't used the app yet but obviously it was made for an American market. Either that or you are teaching a bunch of kids the wrong material. ⊂((・x・))⊃
Awful
by anthonydangelo on 2015/06/09 05:21
Web browser is terrible. URL posts barely work and are not function web pages. Text editing is difficult, can't even copy and paste without struggle. Super cool concept but some really bad bugs and obstacles making this very lame and non-functional
Not Worth it Yet

This has the potential to be useful, but UI is lacking. $5/mo for an unsharable, local Pinterest board is insane.
Terrible
by bonrox on 2015/06/08 02:44
This app is not intuitive at all. Text was the only thing I could easily add. I could not figure out how to get a picture from Google to appear. I even tried copying the direct link to the image but they won't let you use a link that way. Thought this could be a really cool idea board. Deleted it within ten minutes.

Too unstable even with simple text (fixed?)
by S Rice 1010 on 2015/06/06 19:36
Started entering to-do items, a few words per tile plus a background color. Locked up after 3 tiles. Restarted app, continued. Locked up after 8 tiles. Restarted app, continued. Crashed to desktop after 12 tiles, now each restart crashes to desktop if I click anywhere on this board. -- update 6/6 has fixed this for me, upgrading to 3 stars tentatively.
Needs work
by WestJ393 on 2015/06/06 19:10
I admit it I can see where they would like to go with this app but it still needs better UI directions.
Great App, Premium is too High
by Chronocode on 2015/06/06 15:49
I really like everything this app does and would definitely use it with all of the premium features. However the $4.99 monthly cost is too much. I would gladly pay $9.99 up front for the app with everything unlocked, but I don't see the necessity of this app requiring a monthly subscription.
Terrible example of Freemium
by Chris Ames “Dewde” on 2015/06/06 13:12
I tried to use and enjoyed the free version of the app, but kept tripping over the nag screen to upgrade and unlock features. This is not how Freemium works. A better way is to get me hooked on the core features, and the premium features will become irresistible. By contrast, what we have here is a severely handicapped demo product. One in which I'm too busy being interrupted and annoyed by nag screens during the experience to give it any more consideration.
Understanding

Attempting to get the understanding the app. Clearly allot going on
Can only add text on top of an image
by Livs77 on 2015/06/05 22:58
I'm looking for a way to add text and then paste an image under the text or before it. This app only allows you to write on top of your image making the whole point of putting the image in there useless. I want to be able to make a note and the add an image for reference. Very frustrating that you can't do that.
Not good
by brownbw on 2015/06/05 22:04
I don't really see this as very useful. Also, the logo is a COMPLETE ripoff of the Caterpillar heavy equipment logo from the 60's-80's, not Super Smash Brothers.

$45 per year to uncripple the app. Ripoff.
by NW notes on 2015/05/03 15:00
I can see some value in this app. Would buy it at $1.99 and consider it at $3.99. But to charge $45 per year? I would need to get the value I get out of Evernote from the app to consider that. Nice idea though, and good clean execution. Will check back when they get serious about providing value.
Great support
by Ummelmommy on 2015/04/17 03:05
This is an app that allows you to do a lot, but my learning curve was a little too steep for how quickly I need to start using it. The developers came through and responded to my email with a lengthy explanation of how I can do what I needed to within hours. Thanks!!
Great idea that I hope outlives its current instability
by R the P on 2015/03/31 16:44
I was very excited to hear about Curator—there are many uses for it! I downloaded it to my 4th Generation iPad and began using it right away, but found that it is not very stable. It saves what I have just added to it before it abruptly quits. It’’s great that it doesn’t lose my work, but its usefulness is limited if it is not stable—especially for giving presentations, one of its listed uses.

Interesting App for idea collection!
Still too expensive.
by sealyric on 2015/02/02 17:12
Very nice interface. The simplicity is it's strength but there are three things that would make it much better: landscape mode, ability to swipe between cells, ability to add multiple images to multiple cells at the same time. These additions would make it easier to use and better as a presentation tool. These may be in the works as this is a new app and if they are added this app will be well worth purchasing. Update: 24 April 2014 The items mentioned above have been added with the exception of landscape mode so I have added another star. This app is one of the best tools available for organizing images that I have found. Update 5 Jan 2015 The monthly charge for new features is a non starter. Great app bad business decision. I've subtracted stars.
Way too expensive
by JuanLopezJuanLopez on 2015/01/07 01:50
Useful to keep some annotations and photos together, now that PopBoardz has become useless. I was glad to see they added the much needed option to reorder photos. BUT this can only be done in premium, which is ridiculously expensive at $5 a month!! Are they crazy? A subscription needed to reorder photos on a board? Greed greed greed.
Rip off. $4.99 a month for what...
by kcbp on 2015/01/06 02:07
To be able to rearrange boards and export to PDF. I can see maybe a one time purchase but this is a rip off. It's unfortunate because it could be a very useful app. Previous review:The app is very limiting. If you create a large number of boards be aware: You can't organize the pages once you create them, you are left to scroll through an endless amount of boards to find what you need.
Plain & simple.
by Wisestfool on 2015/01/06 00:01
I've never written a review for any app. However, I feel it's necessary and they truly deserve the credit. They have listened to all requests and fixed many problems that have happened with the app. If this application continues the creativity, and just listening to the people who actually download the app, I'm sure to keep it forever. Keep it up my pals.
Lovin this app
by Jolontru on 2014/11/29 23:21
One request tho. Would you please make it so that we can ReOrder our pages. It would be Really handy for very Big projects. Also, I know bout your storage service. It's cool, but I can't afford things like that. But could you let it be a cool splash screen when we open the app. The screen advertising Every time I try to change the lettering size or background colour does get Very Annoying.
Expensive
by Unelma2016 on 2014/11/19 23:28
5$ a month for what??? Just for a storage?! Insane
Great app and design but
by Truestar123 on 2014/11/16 09:54
Keeps crashing and won't let me continue adding images. Also would be cool if you could download a pdf of your board to print. Still really like the app and hope it grows.
App Crash
by ticobro on 2014/10/18 04:13
I recently purchased this app and only to find that it crashes every time I attempt to open it. I have taken all steps to troubleshoot and all failed. I will update this review when a fix is available.
Useless
by NikolaiG on 2014/09/28 21:51
Useless. Doesn't do what it says or, if it does, it doesn't explain.
Pretty good...
by Mary21382 on 2014/09/24 03:36
I really like this app especially that I can download multiple pics at one time. I use it for scrapbooking. I keep all the pics I want to scrapbook on one Board and write some text about the event and when I'm actually ready to scrapbook I know exactly what pix to choose & what happened on that day. It also helps when i go to scrapbook store. I can see right away what color paper I need. There are a few flaws though: 1) it keeps asking me to purchase which is pretty pricey at $7 & I haven't even had much time with it. That would be ok but I haven't even had a 1day trail period and it's already bugging me for money. 2) it needs to able to set each box to a diff color 3) needs folders, for instance, one for work, school, etc. 4) Needs some fonts to choose from This app has a lot of potential and hopefully they are listening to their customers.
Love this! Intuitive, Useful.
by LLLBB54 on 2014/09/13 01:02
Wish I could get it on my IPhone too!
Ad for upgrade too intrusive
by Tburton31 on 2014/09/03 04:00
Would love to get a better feel for the app, but the ad for upgrading pops up every other action. It's annoying enough that I stop using the app. I realize money needs to be made, but the constant bombardment is too much.
Love the concept
by Buddhawolf on 2014/09/01 01:31
Using for my to do, as well as planning. Gives my direction at a glance. Hope to use on all my devices, and can't wait for further improvements.
Multiple File Types
by Nilstaylor on 2014/08/24 14:36
This app has so much potential, I wish it could do more though. I use it for film production, being able to import PDFs and even small video clips would be beyond useful. Hopefully they implement this in the future.
Needs more work
by otterman on 2014/08/08 22:26
Not a whole lot to work with without spending the additional $7 (which I haven't done). It could use some more tweaks. You can't place photos or websites at the zoom level or crop you want - if what you want to display is halfway down a webpage, too bad, you only get the top; if you're in landscape orientation and use a waist-up portrait, the subject's head is cut off. Can't tell from the demo if you get more fonts and/or color options for your $7 or just more sizes. Good start, but not there yet.
Nice, but...
by WyssDude on 2014/06/26 15:38
Nice layout and design and very easy to use. BUT... Annoying "Essentials" in-app pop up every time you scroll through your book. I get that I can buy an upgrade. Please stop rubbing my nose in it. Makes me want to just delete the app off my iPad and use Evernote...
Has potential
by Mybeardisred on 2014/06/20 03:02
The concept of this app is very nice, but there are some features I'd like to see. 1) ability to paste images into a block in posted of having to save elsewhere 2) ability to scale blocks to have a visual hierarchy 3) having more spaces 4)color picker to add individual colors into a square Easily would make this a 5 star for me
crash
by meFabio on 2017/02/09 16:20
It just crashes...buggy. not worth the money.
Needs an update

Premium functions don’t function - no customer support
by A User of iPhone Apps on 2020/07/22 10:15
I paid for premium and the app’s premium functions remained locked off. I tried restoring the purchase and reinstalling to no avail. I also tried creating an account but every time I submitted a name and password the app just hung. Finally I contacted customer support via email and I received an email that the recipient’s mailbox was full or was receiving too many emails. Refund.
No drag and drop support
by arronhunt on 2018/03/22 18:44
Can’t take this seriously as a professional tool without drag and drop on the iPad. Having to save images and upload them is too cumbersome to make this app useful.
Great for brainstorming visuals
by coltonjean on 2017/08/15 16:01
We use this to plan any sort of visual media project. It's pretty simple and straightforward. Keep it up Curator!

No longer Syncs
by ViolenceIncorporated on 2017/02/18 15:26
Wish I didn't pay for the lifetime subscription. App no longer syncs with my iPad or the servers. Many photos lost, and customer support took a month just to tell me they can't help.
Elegant way to collect visual thoughts-- needs flexibility
by mamaPrincipessa on 2014/01/19 16:47
Curator - visual notes is an easy, graceful way to collect visual ideas. It also incorporates text and annotations seamlessly. However, more flexibility in organizing boards and an easier way to move images. I'd like to be able to re-order the flow of boards --move recently created boards to the beginning, or group boards together, such as by color or theme. It would be ideal if I could see thumbnails of all boards in a gallery view, making board movement easier. I'd also like to be able to drag and drop individual cells from one board to another, or even cut, paste and copy. I did buy the full version, because for visual artists, the ability to collect images and show them together is addictive. I'd be happy to give the app more stars when I can move the boards and cells around fluidly.
Was going to renew subscription...
by Daydream Creative on 2019/11/13 11:02

It was great but useless now.
by Upset B on 2018/03/06 03:05
It totally screwed me with adding websites to my boards. Now it is just google searches when I paste in URLs. Totally ruined s great app.

by iCaliT on 2017/07/24 15:42

Very nice and shows a lot of promise!
by BoyandaniPad on 2013/12/23 03:37
I started using this app about a week ago and so far I like it! It is a very simple interface and the concept of storing a set of different type but related types of information is really appealing. The app has worked well, but there are still a couple of minor bugs that I have seen. Also, I would like to have the ability to increase the amount of text in the title bar (or reduce the font) and be able to change the size of the font in the text fields. I hope the developers continue to improve the app as I think it shows a lot of promise. Very unique and useful, I highly recommend trying it!
Could use some more!
by r0an373 on 2014/02/03 01:57
It works as advertised, and the intro video is a nice touch (could use some editing though, a la Papers by FiftyThree's tutorial). While the concept's there, I honestly feel there's so much more that could be done with this. How about resizable tiles? Or if not resizable, joinable tiles? That way, we could present a big idea immediately without having to tap in and out and in and out over and over. The tap to exit works, but it could also use some intuitive flicks, like say 3-finger swipe to go back? Tapping just really disrupts the flow of using the app. Regardless, the app works perfectly. Also, how about a presenter mode? For when we just need to show a collage of ideas during a discussion, or if we decide to connect the iPad to a projector, this will really help. With that, maybe a landscape mode would be nice! (Though that is purely optional, seeing as the vertical presentation works quite well) Overall great app, could still use some more features, but as it stands right now, it' stood for making up a quick collage for brainstorming and discussions. :)
Cool idea...
by Chlonie on 2014/01/08 21:58
I love the idea of this app, but it leaves an incredible amount to be desired. I would love it if there was the ability to add more cells, maybe some scrolling action. Also, adding multiple photos at once is time consuming and annoying after a while, so maybe the option to add multiple photos at a time? The option to share is what I am most desperate for. I like to use my styling inspiration here, but it isn't possible to share my ideas with my editor or clients unless I'm there with my iPad. Also, with the 6.99 hidden in-app purchase, I'm immediately turned off since there is so much missing from this app. $7?! Really people?! I get the whole minimalist approach, but the bare minimum isn't cutting it. Hopefully am update is in store soon, then I could consider the $7 price tag :)
Good app, needs expandabilty
by Mdagusto on 2014/03/10 16:36
This app has some very interesting potential. The core concept seems sound however its limited functions make it difficult to completely embrace. It would be beneficial if it had some of these additional functions: 1. Basic Sketch tools. see "Concepts" App for example 2. Basic "format" functions for text fields 3. Import/export options. Possibly from various drawing and writing applications, and to Google Drive or Drop Box 4. Annotation/comments especially for images and photos 5. It could also create a variety of plugin additions to make the app perpetually customizable to a variety of process needs.
If you like Pinterest but avoid social media
by Nolayersplease on 2013/11/30 06:34
This app is for you, but several improvements are in order before it can be user-friendy: I want to move cells from board to board, and I want to set the search terms once, then forget about it until I want to change them, not type the same thing over and over again. When you type text on the cells there is no way to change the text size, so I have no idea what I've written. This app has potential to be great for educators, but seems like it came out too early.
Pretty good...
by Mary21382 on 2014/09/24 03:36
I really like this app especially that I can download multiple pics at one time. I use it for scrapbooking. Cool idea, Terrible App
by OneNotTakenAlready on 2013/11/25 20:54
I would use this app all the time if it could follow through on its own idea. Instead, it is glitchy, it crashes, it fails to save things, and ultimately wastes my time. I thoroughly enjoyed using the app (during the half hour after downloading it) until it crashed several times. It seems unable to handle any copy/pasting text, eg from Pages, without becoming completely bug-ridden. I can't deal with an app that won't let me work across apps without falling apart, and then won't let me recover the work it erased. I was using it to outline a paper, which seemed like a great use and a nice visual way to stimulate thought. Not worth the huge time waste of losing work, however.
More flexibility needed.
by Golden Hazel on 2014/01/25 14:01
Ditto completely with previous reviewer. Love the intuitive, easy to use, quick access management of images but need the ability to cut and paste to different boards as well as rearrange the order of the boards. As a designer and artist, I like to use my references for various projects and have more control of their grouping. I also purchased the app and am hopeful these obvious improvements will happen soon as it has a 5 star potential! Watch out Evernote!
Needs to Allow for More Data per "Board"
by cmsteahly on 2014/06/09 01:09
I love this app and it's intuitive functionality, but it needs to allow for more items or cells per board. I started using this app for my design and music projects, but I had to stop because I could only add a small amount of information per board. Once the developers add the ability to add a larger amount of data to each board, this app will become an extremely useful and powerful creative tool.
Love this app!!
by Sophia O. on 2014/05/03 23:26
I was a bit hesitant to download this at first because it had no ratings or reviews. Overall I’m really impressed by this app! I’ve been using it to organize my interior design ideas. It’s visually pleasing and not at all buggy. It’s also fairly easy to use. You can upload images from your photos, instagram, facebook, dropbox, google drive/gmail, box, or search for pictures on the internet. Great app!
Cute app with a lot of potential
by M news on 2013/11/29 18:59
So far it is a cute little app that has a lot of potential. Will gladly give it 5 stars if I could export to a mosaic like picture so I could use this outside of the app when I am elsewhere or so I could put it on a web page or social network. Would also love to be able to pull pictures from Pinterest and add them as well. Other than that it is a great app and I look forward to using it more.
Interesting idea. Buggy app. Hidden in app purchase.
by David Levine on 2013/11/14 02:52
The premise of the app is pretty original. I like the premise, the functionality of the app, and the overall design. The app is buggy. If you tap on delete when no boards have been created, the app crashes. On an iPad Air, it takes Curator about 12 seconds to launch. I was disappointed to find an in app purchase hidden away. After creating five boards, you are prompted to pay $6.99 if you want to create more. This is not listed in the app's description in the App Store or on the Curator website.

Ridiculous
by Adam Slechta on 2015/07/13 13:49
A reoccurring monthly fee is absolutely ridiculous for this type of app.

Refund.

Thanks, Curator!
beautiful, elegant, efficient

please update for new screen sizes - iphone X and XR — love this app and use it a lot for visual studdying, nice simple elegant way of adding notes to every image in the board. clutter free and enjoyable. some issues here and there but developer is nice and responsive. beautiful fonts. no other app like this in the app store

We use this to plan any sort of visual media project. It's pretty simple and straightforward. Keep it up Curator!

by iCaliT on 2017/07/24 15:42
This app is so limited.

by _chelsearedd on 2015/09/24 04:12

Love it
by Josefinabolano on 2015/09/19 11:49
I love this app, is very useful for me as a designer.

Amazing!

Needs an update

please update for new screen sizes - iphone X and XR — love this app and use it a lot for visual studdying, nice simple elegant way of adding notes to every image in the board. clutter free and enjoyable. some issues here and there but developer is nice and responsive. beautiful fonts. no other app like this in the app store
Refund.
No drag and drop support
by arronhunt on 2018/03/22 18:44
Can’t take this seriously as a professional tool without drag and drop on the iPad. Having to save images and upload them is too cumbersome to make this app useful.
Great for brainstorming visuals
by coltonjean on 2017/08/15 16:01
We use this to plan any sort of visual media project. It's pretty simple and straightforward. Keep it up Curator!
Don't fall for it
The Best!

There is nothing like Curator in the world of apps. It’s indispensable for my projects. Thank you, Curator!
Was going to renew subscription...
by Daydream Creative on 2019/11/13 11:02
Until realizing this app hasn’t been updated in 2 years and feedback receives zero response.
It was great but useless now.
by Upset B on 2018/03/06 03:05
It totally screwed me with adding websites to my boards. Now it is just google searches when I paste in URLs. Totally ruined s great app.
No
by iCaliT on 2017/07/24 15:42

Great app!
Lovin this app

One request tho. Would you please make it so that we can ReOrder our pages. It would be Really handy for very Big projects. Also, I know bout your storage service. It's cool, but I can't afford things like that. But could you let it be a cool splash screen when we open the app. The screen advertising Every time I try to change the lettering size or background colour does get Very Annoying.
Ridiculous
by Adam Slechta on 2015/07/13 13:49
A reoccurring monthly fee is absolutely ridiculous for this type of app.
1st Review Ever
by Kathymeadeipad (ruanna3) on 2014/03/11 03:05
I have never bothered leaving reviews in AppStore. If an app is great, I use it. If not, I delete. Curator is the first app that has ever responded to feedback and they did so in a gracious and thoughtful way. I love using this app for my writing visualization boards. I was immediately hooked and upgraded right away. Can't wait to see what new features they unveil! -Anna
