Full screen option

I like this app a lot. Its maps are regularly updated. A feature I would like is to have a full screen option when on drive or walk modes.

Not a bad app, but some minor issues
by Geeeeeesh on 2020/11/23 00:55
I bought this a month or so ago, looking for an app like Navigon was before Garmin bought them out and eventually stopped updating and pulled it from their stores I wanted one on my iPhone 10 that I did not have to be concerned about having cellular coverage while traveling and this one (like navigon did) does that. I had been using the navigon app since they shut down support meaning my maps were not being updated so I wanted something that was. Maps are from Tom Tom. I use it from trips involving rental cars. This app is not too bad, but my issues are the screen switches from 3D view to 2D view quite regularly for no apparent reason. Another issue is it lags about warnings, such as railroad crossings and actual distance. Today it told me I was approaching a crossing in 1000 miles. I was maybe 75-100 feet from it. It seems to have speed warning alerts at the 7mph over that I have set for local/city/urban for highway and rural which I chose 10mph. It did ok for trip routes. The issues I mentioned are not big issues, just slightly annoying. If they’d get the above mentioned bugs and others taken care of, they could have a 5 star product. 11-22-20 OK, an update here. We took a 300 mile country road excursion going whatever way we wanted to turn this afternoon and I was disappointed to find that many of the small towns off of the beaten path were not in the states map database. I checked APPLE MAPS and GOOGLE MAPS and they had these small towns in their database that yours did not. Even the old gps NAVIGON had small towns in its database. This makes me wonder about other states and if small towns are missing there too. Why do you believe that people only care about cities/towns near an interstate?

Battery Drain!
by kennwin1 on 2020/11/20 02:13
Recently, the app continues to run in the background even though I don't have it set to do so. It is rapidly killing my battery and since l purchased a lifetime subscription, l funny want to delete the application and lose all my waypoints. Please advise if there is a fix for this.
Erratic directions and demonstrate option
by Gnzuva on 2020/11/19 21:46
I love the app except for the fact that sometimes directions are erratic (makes me exit out of the highway to re-enter next in that exact point, other times it gives me a zigzag route when there is a straight ave to get the destination). What I do not like is the DEMONSTRATE feature instead of having directions. Is there a chance to get rid of the demonstrate thing? Many thanks. I am happy to change my 3 stars.
Had high hopes
by maxvscamera on 2020/11/18 03:50
This navigation app had so many innovative features advertised so it was a no-brainer to give it a shot. $40 dollars in upgrades later and I’m wondering what the heck I’m doing with my life. That’s like 4 Taco Bell meals. The feature that drew me to the app most was the traffic light countdown, for the life of me I can’t get this to work .. pretty certain now that I’m in a region that doesn’t support this data and of course I would’ve like to have known this before purchasing. Also splurged for the Apple Car play upgrade after using it a couple days .. I don’t see any differences. I’ve made a few support to tickets to ask questions but no one has answered me yet.
CarPlay not what it appears to be
by Mu377 on 2020/11/18 02:41
The $18 upgrade for CarPlay premium was absolutely not worth it. The pictures are a little misleading because that’s not actually what is up on the CarPlay screen. Overall the app is fine but I really thought I was getting something special and it turned out to be pretty similar to all the other navigation apps. I feel like I was conned
Accidentally downloaded app
by jmbourget on 2020/11/15 20:29
Not liking this. I accidentally downloaded this app. I immediately cancelled subscription because it was not what I was looking for or needed or wanted. Low and behold, they debited my account for $29.99 a couple days later. Not too happy right now. Cant find a contact number for them!!! Want my money back!!
Useless, gimmicky, and a waste of money. Use Waze, Google maps, or maps on the iPhone.
by iDood68 on 2020/11/10 11:28
I have not found this app to be useful for anything. I have tried it several times without any luck. I’ve downloaded all of the relevant maps only to NOT find Address is on more than one occasion. In addition, what is up with the constant advertising for add-ons? Absolutely ridiculous. I’d like a full refund of my money given that I have not been able to successfully use this program once. Please advise how to do that.
This program hasn’t been worth the cost yet
by VinYan123 on 2020/11/06 20:39
I paid the 35.99 for the CarPlay package one night, and I’ve regretted it. The program freezes repeatedly when connected to my car with Apple CarPlay. Even with app updates, this continues to be an issue. Also, the microphone doesn’t connect with my car’s microphone and doesn’t detect voice commands. I am frustrated enough to want to delete the program, but I’m not sure how to get a refund. Maybe it will improve, but it has not yet.
Not quite ready
by Flamewinger on 2020/11/05 23:34
Map colors are limited. Announcements are quirky. When using it in a vehicle dash the route you set up on the phone disappears when you open it in the dash. Time consuming have to set up again.
Great offline navigation app
by devlin mccoy on 2020/11/04 19:29
This app is amazing you can find what state you want to travel too and create navigation great direction app loads fast great and useful for driving
Waste of time
by Cincyjazz on 2020/10/29 08:44
I downloaded this app and from reading the capabilities of it it really got my attention. Once downloaded it said that I had seven days to use the premium parts of the app but the premium never worked. It just kept flashing buy me buy me buy me without seeing rather or not you would want to spend that kind of money for the premium without test driving it. If you going to offer someone to test a app don’t force him to buy it first off and don’t offer something that you’re not going to bring to the table. And before you even go there yes I did email tech-support two days into the premium trial and never got an answer.

Good maps! Needs better navigation.
by fattbiyyyy on 2020/10/20 20:20
• The map is amazing! Offline map, etc. I just hate the poor navigation. The navigation leads you random places like it doesn't know what location you want to go to.
Best of them. And socially responsible.
by Tart13456789 on 2020/10/14 22:56
Better than Apple and google maps. The best part is supporting a company that’s not running sweatshops and starving their opponents’ market shares by every illegality possible.
No sound
by Eraw on 2020/10/14 21:52
The sound is on. There is no sound. No voice. Nothing. In addition, when Sygic is using CarPlay, the car radio volume is reduced. I previously wrote a negative review. I’m still disappointed.
Not worth it!!
by Riddiqui on 2020/10/14 18:42
This paid app is way behind free apps like Google maps or Apple Maps. Data is more than 3 years old. I would recommend, save your money and use popular and Free apps from Google or Apple.
So bad....
by Fatbob124 on 2020/10/13 19:24
This program has taken me off course, sometimes can’t find existing roads, and overall is a gigantic disappointment.
Totally useless
by Ujpesti on 2020/10/08 21:01
This app CAN'T find my home address. I try my registered home button I get a message outside perimeter. Try to type in my address I get a message no such address. I guarantee there IS such address! I lived there for years! All other maps will find my address. What a waste of money on a useless garbage. DELETED
Not worth the 20 USD high price tag, and the annoyance of the app upselling every additional feature
by KK987955 on 2020/10/06 15:44
Two major issues: - It’s not a good product that’s worth 20 dollars. If you want a good real-time app then go for “Waze” app. If you also want offline map feature, then also add “Here Maps” app from Nokia. But for 20 USD!!, Sygic app just combines these two features into a low quality product. The Sygic app should have been worth maximum 5 USD. - On top of it, the app tries to upsell every additional feature. For e.g. 1) for the „Premium Carplay“ feature for 18 USD extra!, one has to pay again for basic features such as speed limit just for the Carplay. 2) And for 11 USD more!, one can have every month, map updates feature. I have not seen any place in the world where the map changes constantly every month for 12 months straight. The app seems to be constantly ripping off the customer. It is very annoying, when the app has become more of a pure profit-making app than a quality-built app. I think the only solution is to move your business model from a pure profit driven to a more quality driven. Otherwise, with time, there will be a long queue of frustrated customers lining up
Beginning to Disappoint
by jruhl007 on 2020/10/06 00:23
I have been using this application for some time now. But it has always been on my iPhone. Never had any real issues with it. But after upgrading the radio in my Jeep, I now can Apple car play. Well this is where the issues began. I got over the fact that I had to get an upgrade to use it with Apple car play. But I did kinda like the fact that I could use my iPhone to show me the important turn and distance info, keeping the map on the radio screen. Well we went on a cross country trip and the app kept crashing. Not just once or twice, but at least 10 times over 3days. The real issue is with how I use my iPhone to display the turn by turn info. Well this wouldn’t recover as smoothly as the app and that was problematic. But the final straw was when traveling to Deadwood SD from Mount Rushmore, the app took us someplace over an hour away. Now this was the first time this happened. From that point forward, I started using Apple Maps as I felt I could no longer trust the app.
Stick with FREE Waze guys
by Maestrokristoqhr on 2020/10/05 13:05
Lincoln, my car, recommended it as a superior app for directions. It’s not. It doesn’t show police, accidents, traffic, speed traps, etc — unless you pay more. Maps are slow. It couldn’t even find my US address. This seems to be an EU app—- functionality in the US is poor. I want to cancel and get a refund.

Fantastic improvement from the Car Navigation version. Would like more maps colors for better visibility when outside a car. Also, voice commands when using a headset on motorcycle is questionable.
Not the shortest nor fastest route
by RobinCR on 2020/09/27 21:47
Very frustrating when app sends me through all the big cities and big freeways and calls it the shortest route or the fastest route. There is a similar app in Google that does a much better job for free. Very frustrated when I switched to an IPhone and lost that particular app.
Not what I anticipated
by Shotime3579 on 2020/09/27 16:15
I recently purchased the premium app with several add-ons. I was especially excited about the Real-View Navigation feature. I even purchased a holder so my phone could view the road. I was so disappointed with the view. The lines would not stay true to the streets and curves are the worse. It seems like the line is just laid on the display since it knows the path, not because it sees the actual road. What makes me say this? If I start a trip in my house, it displays the road through the walls! The navigation is buggy with used with Apple Car Play. Sometimes it will not talk and freezes. While I want to like this app, I can’t recommend it in its current state for iPhone users. I really would like a refund and maybe I’ll try it again in the future once improved.
Great Product ; lots of advertising ; snooping
by Ghost Agent on 2020/09/24 03:06
The product overall is good, but the frequent alerts of “promotional offers” and other add-on advertisements do become a bit excessive. My suggestion to the developer would be to tone those down a bit. Lastly, thanks to iOS14, I learned that Sygic tried to access/view devices on my network. I really don’t think a navigation app needs to know what the digital footprint of my network looks like... (I knocked the rating down due to this.)
Waste of money
by Niskayuna500$$ on 2020/09/23 13:19
I installed the app, bought all the premium add in’s and tried it for four days.. I find the graphics “ok” but nothing special..as for the rest..a waste of money for sure and time as well. Nothing to see hear ... And oh yes..I would rather not have to be looking at my iPhone screen when driving...after I paid for the premiums
SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT BUY!
by Fisterforlife on 2020/09/20 08:34
I thought I’d see if there were any new navigation apps other than Waze, Apple Maps, and Google maps. I downloaded this program and saw I needed to download each state I was going to travel in l before I could use it. Okay, that might be handy so I went along. After that, I plugged in an address that I’m traveling to next week, about 400 miles away. Sygic told me 8 hours to drive and took me through the middle of town of a major city. Apple, Google, and Waze kept me on major highways and were an hour shorter in driving time. No thanks Sygic. Maybe another time. You’re not getting me to buy any premium stuff when your basic stuff is so wrong.

by judojiujitsu on 2020/09/18 21:54
Absolutely disappointed! My second address input came out “ did not found “ Really? Googly- maugly and herwego has no problem to find it and those are free apps! I cooled down and the next day I tried a another one and guess what: I have been navigated by two blocks away into a different Ct. Message to the developers: this app is a piece of garbage for $11! Get out guys! PS: if anyone from the developer team wants to know that two addresses let me know, and trust me; there you go! Have a nice day!
I'm screwed now.

Leaving on a multistate motorcycle trip this morning. Updated this app, and now it doesn't work. The app partially loads, then crashes. Rebooting doesn't help. My first stop today, will be to buy paper maps. Never again!
Failed me when I needed it most
by Jay Cagey on 2020/09/16 15:05
Last year I went to Australia and figured Sygic would be ideal for finding my way around without using mobile data. The first time I really had to depend on it was when I drove from the airport to my hotel. I got within a kilometer of the hotel and ... the app crashed. That was beyond stressful because: (A) I was in a strange place and had no idea of where I was, (B) I was driving on the left for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, and (C) Tasmania has insanely strict laws about driving with a phone -- you're not allowed to touch one while driving, or even have it on the seat next to you (it has to be mounted on the dash). Fortunately, I was able to yell out "Hey Siri, take me to <hotel name>" and Apple Maps came to my rescue. For the rest of the trip, I relied on Apple or Google Maps. That was a year ago, so why am I reviewing it now? Because I got a notice of new maps and, while updating them, the app crashed -- cue the flashbacks. I want to love Sygic, but it's way too unstable, especially when the app crashing could lead to a real life crash.

Sygic failed me.
by Moseslawn42 on 2020/09/13 19:32
I have used it in the last 3 weeks to find two locations many miles from my home. Both times the true destination and the end of the destination were several miles apart. In one case a local gave me the correct location, the other case I found it using another map app. Both location names existed in Sygic and both locations were decades old.
A bit buggy but good
by MikeFromBrooklyn on 2020/09/10 03:34
First of all, Sygic’s notifications are reminders on items you haven’t purchased yet. I really hate being reminded I haven’t bought a feature from them. If I bought the CarPlay package, I have no use for the heads up display or cockpit add on. Sygic keeps trying to reroute me onto service roads thinking they’re faster. One big bug: I drove 40 miles on the walking screen. It should know that if you’re moving more than 10mph, you’re in a vehicle and switch to it. During that trip, it was also not centering me (rotating the display as I’m driving - it was disorienting). It’s a good program with a great potential. I hope the bugs get ironed out soon.

Addresses Not Found
by jamierules41 on 2020/08/30 02:01
I like all of the features of this app but approx fifty percent of the time, when I enter an address, it says not found so I have to use Waze or Google Maps, which are free btw and they always have it. I pay for this app and nothing. That’s frustrating. Unless some huge improvements are made in that department, I will not be renewing when my license is up.

Not worth the money
by ggkjesnjddf on 2020/08/27 14:36
I am so tired of this app shutting off whenever it feels like it. There are a lot of free apps that works way better than this garbage app. I even bought the “red light camera” add on. Had to drive 150 miles before I found an area it worked in. Another waste of money.
Too buggy by half
by Amolcare P on 2020/08/26 05:39
It doesn’t keep up with the iOS updates. The night view is inoperable. If the various alerts are enabled, it is impossible to listen to music. Even in neighboring Poland, it was behind on road repairs in a good size city. I own all of it and remain unhappy

I got the Premium App specifically to work in my new VW Alltrack. This worked right first time. I have been using Copilot for many years, with which I was comfortable, but unfortunately didn’t work with CarPlay. I drive in mountains with no Cell Service. That why Sygic GPS Navigation is for me

by Mepitre on 2020/08/08 21:01

by strat!87! on 2020/08/01 00:40
The search seems really limited and won’t accept some addresses that google and waz recognize. Also, there are definitely some minor bugs in the voice directions vs what the screen shows. The voice tells you to turn right when a street goes from being divided to undivided highway. I don’t trust the points of interest. I told it to go to Mount Rushmore and it took me 20 miles away out in the middle of nowhere and wanted me to drive through a field. I used it on a 3,000 mile trip where cell service was poor. The offline maps were great backup, but had to rely on google a few times when Sygic was messed up....

Not modern
by stanlap on 2020/07/30 02:55
The most important feature of Sygic is that you can download maps for offline use. I long ago “graduated” from the no-longer available Garmin app to Google maps. But the offline features of Google Maps has been buggy lately as I live in an area of Colorado with spotty cell service. In order to assure I always have access to a map and navigation guidance I bought Sygic. Minuses: Sygic’s Apple Play display in “North Up” mode is useless. Fix it, Sygic! Make it work like Google! The user interface and display quality is about 15 years out of date. Sygic will never be my primary GPS but I will keep it on my phone for when Google Maps isn’t working.
Poor Directions
by FM-Pros on 2020/07/29 14:03
I got this because I was going to be traveling in the western U.S. and knew I would have sparse internet connectivity with my phone and tablet. However, when I put in a destination and asked for directions, it gave me a 155 mile 2:51 minute route, which I knew was wrong. Fortunately, I had WiFi at my hotel and was able to produce the correct route in Apple Maps: 43 miles and 1 hour. As it turned out, the mis-routing was a result of the fact that the shortest route sent me across the border of another state for a couple of miles, and I hadn’t downloaded that state’s map. But rather than inform me that I needed to download another map, I got a route that was three times as long. Not great. Also, when navigating, if a road changes its name, the app instructs me to “turn right”, when I really need to go straight. This means that I have to look at the app and cannot rely on audio cues alone while driving - also not great.
Sketchy navigation
by Lanes1959 on 2020/07/24 10:05
I love everything about this app but I don’t trust the navigation. It had me making turns on roads near my home when I wasn’t home yet. It also records my home address as 42/43 when it is actually 26. Not sure what the deal is but I wish it was better. I drive way too much to not trust the nav. Sorry Sygic.
Way too many spam notifications
by MMMAMMM on 2020/07/22 14:25
The app isn’t bad but even after buying a paid version it sends several notifications to buy some other product every day. Often for the same product. This should change. After some more testing I have reduced to one star. Not only are the constant upsell attempts annoying but the app also crashes a lot on my iPad. Very disappointing to spend money on this

The worst maps. Kosovo is not separated part. Kosovo is the part of Serbia, always been. It’s defined by UN resolution 1244. And couldn't be a Republic. Don't use this application.

Crashes / Last Update no maps

This used to be one of my favorite Apps for Maps. Over the past 6 months, it crashes all the time and the last recent update no maps to choose from.

Ok when it Works
by huebrown on 2020/07/10 14:49
This app is terrible for CarPlay! If you can get it to work, it will work well. Most of the time, however, it will continually die and shutdown. Some of the best features the app has do not work well on CarPlay. I would not recommend buying it for CarPlay, and I would avoid it as Waze, Apple Maps and Google Maps work much better. It even gives bad ETAs. Not sure why that happens.
Great Map .. But
by E7JAREHEAD on 2020/07/10 00:28
At times I have to fall back to Google Maps, at times it can't locate a address, I have downloaded the map. Other then that I would rate it 5 stars. Today it took me around a 5 mile backup

Terrible customer service!
by Oly1971 on 2020/07/04 07:21
The mobile speed cameras in-app purchase does not work. All sygic in-app purchases require an ‘activation’ step before start working but this specific in-app cannot be activated in my iphone or ipad regardless my numerous efforts. I contacted repeatedly Sygic support and followed every suggestion they had for this problem to no avail. I requested them to either solve the issue or give me a refund but I haven’t heard from them since. Bear in mind that I bought this in-app 3 times without knowing because I tried repeatedly to ‘activate’ it but it led to an additional purchase of itself each time! (This in-app purchase is valid for a year I was told by sygic). Therefore I ended up paying for a service for 3 years unintentionally and the product doesnt even work!
Maps don’t have real time traffic update
by SudhirHebbar on 2020/07/03 20:45
Maps don’t have real time traffic updates as Google/Apple/Waze maps have. Please improve in this area. I have tried offline feature. It works good. We need the app to also remember where I parked when the car is parked so it can guide the user back to parking if needed. Google /Apple/ waze have this feature. Please help incorporate these features in your next release . Update:: Lowering the rating to 1 star. Reason is that I have been giving constant feedback for over 2 months about app crashing when connected to CarPlay and all I get is standard response that reinstall the app. I even did that, but it still crashes. Developers please fix the issue. Also many of locations which you can find on Google, Waze and Apple maps are not shown on this app map. Don’t know what the issues are for not getting proper updates to maps. I have even updated the map when I reinstalled the app. Is this company still working? Or because of COVID-19 they have bundled up , shut down? Totally disappointed with this app ..
Added 1 star for CarPlay support but too little too late.
by no spam for me on 2020/07/03 15:17
I gave this app 1 star before for not supporting CarPlay, terrible routing (including no way to avoid carpool lanes and all ETAs assuming carpool lane use, and in some cases routing me into Carpool-only freeway in ramps, which would have resulted in me breaking the law and giving no alternative routes), and a UI that just never seemed to work right....and of course extra money for frequent updates after charging $60 for the app itself? Nope. Today I’m updating my review and adding 1 star for CarPlay support finally but the terrible routing and glitchy UI still make this app pointless especially since Apple Maps has improved so much. I like the HUD function. Too bad the rest of the app still feels so half-baked.
EV feature is weak
by sototallycarl on 2020/07/02 14:28
I downloaded again after light usage for years, specifically for EV features. There are a bunch of issues with it though. First and foremost it’s missing 80% of the charging stations in my area. Entire major US networks unaccounted for. Second the filtering is based on vehicle, not plug type. That’s great if you have a very common EV but given the current state of them, very few outside the big names are listed. Make it plug based not vehicle based. Right now I have to pick the car with the closest plugs and battery size to even get something working.
Keeps crashing
by RW0821 on 2020/07/01 18:18
After most recent update the app continues to crash and is unusable. I’ve deleted and the loaded and no improvement. I now wish I’d have never spent the money for the monthly map updates. This needs serious work. Attempts to make contact with someone hasn’t worked. Very frustrated.
Not useful
by RB7# on 2020/06/28 16:00
You really have to buy Rand McNally. Put in an address for a trip and it showed me a route that required driving dirt roads when the address is accessible by interstate and US highways. I also pick the state map but when you enter a destination you still have to scroll through the countries of the world and pick US. You would think after turning on the app it wold remember my location.
Sygic CarPlay
by 129 error on 2020/06/25 05:01
CarPlay app crashes on freeway all the time, local streets are fine. I am exhausted what they are waiting for to update/fix the issues. emailed to tech support, been months. They don’t care no response, customers are experiencing same problems. Paid almost $50 for full features, no better than free app now. I am not sure why Apple is letting buy this app to customer since they don’t fix the problem, seems to ignore all matters, Apple should remove it from the App Store
Great product, but..
by mPoposki on 2020/06/24 13:39
I truly like the intent of the product and many features. But it seem the code is to heavy. Makes my phone hot, battery goes down quickly and crashes from time to time. I did buy many things within the app, so I do like it, but needs lots of improvements. Please fix it.
Terrible.
by Dr. Eilam on 2020/06/21 03:40
Don’t buy it. After buying this application I learnt that voice instructions isn’t included... now every ride starts with nodding: buy premium. By premium, buy premium. I will not buy premium. I will not use it. Leave alone that when I know that the way is right the stupid map is directing me left. I want my money BACK! What can I do to get my money back???? Help! Any help???

by Babacar on 2020/06/15 22:59
Was delighted about the full version purchase until the crashes started to occur with unreliable route calculation. ( Unable to use it while traveling from NY to Chicago) The app does rely solely on a solid & consistent internet connection, more likely to occur in heavily populated area such as any major cities. Just like everyone else,I went back to the free Google Maps, with no issues. I did report the troubleshoot via email, however to this day I haven’t got any solution except for an automated email referring me to a user guide outlining how to force close the crashing app. Apparently, it looks like everyone is out of the office or hibernating.

Amateur effort compared to google maps
by Steve4031 on 2020/06/14 13:17
When traveling with in an expressway it tells you to stay on expressway for every exit you pass on your route. So when traveling from Chicago to St. Louis it was hard to tell how long until we would really have to exit the expressway. Then it told us to exit the expressway for no reason and then get back on. This is amateur hour Compton google maps. Frustrating to spend money for such a poor effort.

by Coldzero17 on 2020/05/29 13:34
I bought the app to use it for my daily navigation in my car. After i pay for the app I surprised that there is a long list to pay for in order to get the app fully functional. I have to pay more for carplay to be functional !!! I have to pay more to get more frequent map updates !!! To get speed cam alerts also I have to pay more !!! And there is a long list of functions that are disabled and i have to pay more dollars to activate them while they are available for FREE in other apps !!! If there is less than one star I would choose it. Now am using other free apps like Waze and Maps.me and they are way better than Sygic.
I WASTED MY INVESTMENT
by Alex_Ault on 2020/05/29 01:33
I just does not work. The voice commands causes the app to crash. The map still shows a location in Boca Raton, Florida as Sunshine Parkway, which does not exist.
Sygic not up to job
by Cmljr on 2020/05/28 14:03
(Use on an iPhone in a BMW) I have had this ap over a year and have made in-app purchases. New map update downloaded yesterday. I have tried to like this app but can't recommend. When it tries to communicate with my car it acts like a phone call on the screen and sound is cut off while connecting so you only get part of the instructions. Just turned off this connection to try using phone speakers. Also does not show turns on the future like most apps. I also have Waze (best out there in my opinion), Google maps, Apple maps, and Navigon. I like the Sygic feature that shows distance to gas stops but other than that until they fix this comm link by Bluetooth I suggest you avoid this one.
Deceptive pricing changes over time & poor navigation ability
by PaulWDG on 2020/05/26 19:20
Probably the second review I’ve ever written, I normally don’t bother; but I really hate paying for lifetime licenses only to have it wittled away in an attempt to get more money out of me for what I already paid for. 1) I have lifetime map updates. Recently they’re only giving me four updates per year and want me to pay more money for getting monthly updates. 2) I’ve paid for lifetime speed camera viewing. Now they’ve separated mobile speed cameras as a unique type of camera and want me to pay extra for viewing those. 3) I haven’t used sygic in ages because it leads me in to dead ends and poor routes as compared to google maps. Maybe in other parts of the world it works better, but in South Africa I don’t trust its routing logic after multiple bad experiences.
Update to previous 1-star rating
by Clpritch on 2019/08/04 13:48
New Review: I love the graphics and Lane prompts in this app. Development team is prompt about responding and they’ve fixed a lot of issues that made the app hard to use. Landmarks and locations now are searchable. Yesterday the app was nimble enough to find the best route through an Interstate closure with traffic slowed to a stop AND multiple road closures in downtown. Never encountered stopped traffic on the drive using Sygic. It takes a little getting used to but well worth it. First review: This app has very few landmarks loaded into its databases. You must Google a landmark then put the address into Sygic in order to navigate. Love the graphics but I’ve never found a single location in the app by name, including libraries and schools. Not worth the money. Company offered to enter each one I report but would not refund the purchase until they have more appropriate map and search capabilities.
Disappointed
by Subxxero on 2018/10/11 00:44
Downloaded this app months ago but only used it once or twice because the search bar was horrible. I was using Google Maps and I never had issues finding places near me. This app seems to expect you to know the full address of where your going. You can’t just type in the name of a restaurant. This is just frustrating. A few days ago, I decided to give the app one more chance because I liked the idea of the augmented reality feature ( which I paid for). I tried it for the first time today and it was a total let down. The idea is awesome but it’s hard to tell where your next turn is. The AR screen tells your speed and distance but there are no cues to warn you about exits, turns, NADA! Nothing! I missed my exit because the sound was turned down and you simply can’t see the turns in AR mode. I’m going to triple check that I didn’t miss a setting somewhere because I really want this to work. If not... I’m going to request a refund. UPDATE: still no sound! Then when you get online to try and contact the seller, they just send you in circles. There is no clear way to request a refund. I’m sure I can call itunes but why not make it easy? BECAUSE YOU DONT WANT TO GIVE $$ BACK FOR A POOR APP! Sometimes customer service is what makes or breaks your company...hiding your non existent service Dept behind links that send you in frustrating circles. I WILL BE TRYING TO CONTACT SOMEONE to try and get my money back.
Still frustrating!
by Histnrd on 2018/08/04 18:16
Update:the search function has greatly improved, but now the directions leave much to be desired. I have noticed that the map shows all lanes of a highway are fine, only to find that it tells me it is time to turn less than 1000 feet from the exit, sometimes it finally tells me I am turning right when the exit only lane appears. Also, on my last trip it kept telling me to get into the carpool lane so it showed me turning, every mile or two; this made it impossible to know when my real turn would be. It would be nice to get more specific info about future turns too. Finally, why is the info bar at top sometimes blue and sometimes green? I am sure there is a reason but haven’t figured it out yet. At this point I only use Sygic when I am in areas with no cell signal, otherwise I use Apple maps. I used to love Sygic and keep hoping they will finally work out all the bugs. If I can get the program to understand where I am going, it is top notch, but actually getting it to recognize an address or find a location is frustrating at best and an utter failure at worse. At one point you could share an address from Apple maps and that was great but then it was removed, by Apple or Sygic I have no idea, but pretty much an epic failure now most of the time. As I do like the maps, once I have gone someplace I mark the location so I can find it again.
Good maps. Poor navigation
by LifeInLoFi on 2019/08/22 04:44
The maps are good but not the best. The off-line maps and navigation increase their value, however. The turn by turn directions has some good features including speed camera warnings. The navigation needs a lot of improvement and can be confusing and possibly dangerous if you don’t know the route. Directions are often vague and confusing, and sometimes even incorrect. While driving on a highway, the directions often do not give exit names so you don’t know which road you exit on. They often told me to turn where there are no turns. Directions tell you to simply “turn left” instead of “turn left to merge onto the highway”. And the directions missed the Walmart 5 miles from my house located in the the middle of a major US city, instead directing me to the back of the strip center one block away from the Walmart. I bought the heads up display option which is a good feature — basic but well done. But it’s useless if the rest of the app is going to get me lost along the way. For turn by turn directions, the two major iOS map apps are much more accurate and easier to follow.
Good overall
by %*#%^*+!!! on 2018/07/10 22:44
Nice app, It takes a while to get the hang of it as the blue lines at the beginning confused me to whether avoid or stick to these. Volume was down though and it all made sense when I heard and saw the instruction. Would suggest to change to green colour though as green is always “go this way”. I travel a lot to different places and I bought the world unlimited version. I’ve just tried it in Spain where in Madrid worked pretty nicely, the only problem was when inside a tunnel with junctions in it as these are not shown (I reckon due to loss of GPS signal) but the commands need a bit of improvement to get in the correct lane. Between Oliva (Valencia) back to Madrid, the app got lost four different times showing junctions that didn’t exist and erroneous turns when is not even possible. The way is very straight forward, very much a motorway where there is only one time at which you need to make a slight turn to move onto another motorway (Barcelona or Madrid). I just ignored the spurious commands but this definitely needs to be looked into as may cause confusion. Once the turn commands were ignored the display reverts back to normal. Also, a heard quite a few times “slight turn” when it was a nearly 90 degree turn. All the best and keep updating and correcting these minor bugs. It’s definitely a worth to have app
Useless now
by Beighn on 2020/04/01 11:53
This was a great app when I purchased it a year ago but greed has corrupted it since. Ever since they started the map subscription towards the middle to end of last year the software is full of bugs. It will no longer give you the fastest route and will give you a route that is 1-3 hours longer. Will not reroute it’s directions. Crashes at least twice each 2 1/2 hour trip. Maps are still incomplete such as 3D building feature. Incorrect info on maps such as street names. And the dash cam plugin is the most frustrating bugfest. The dash cam will only record for a certain amount of time and when you go to start a new recording it will over write your last recording. Customer service will not actually read any bug reports you send them and reply with a canned email that doesn’t actually address the bug reported and try to up sell more of their plug ins. The core software has bugs that are overlooked while they focus on adding more pay-to-use features that have their own bugs. It’s just a cash grab now with little tech support and broken features.
Doesn’t need mobile data connection! Great everywhere.
by Bobshoe1 on 2018/11/24 04:35
We used Sygic for two years touring the western USA in a Sprinter Van type RV. Other than downloading maps, it does not need cell data for navigation. Even in the desert where there was no cellphone reception, and therefore no Google or Apple maps, Sygic never failed us. The app keeps getting better and better with updates and features like head up navigation on your windshield — which is so helpful driving at night. Much better than a Garmin or Rand McNally dedicated GPS. On the iPads you get an amazing large navigation screen, unlike a small GPS screen. The small lifetime payment gives me Sygic on my iPhone, iPad and iPad Mini. This is one of the top ten apps of any kind I’ve ever used.
Not worth the money
by Brendan the deer on 2018/09/17 20:22
Laughably poor navigation, but the joke’s on me because I was foolish enough to buy the premium version. Directions are often wrong - with obvious inaccuracies that would take us well out of our way if followed, or had us leaving highways only to be told to circle back and renter them. When I ignored incorrect directions, the map acted as though I hadn’t and remained centered on roads I was not on for up to 30 seconds after which it had difficulty plotting a new course for several minutes. Maps themselves appear be be based on old data and graphics look dated. Lane assist a nuisance as it pops up seemingly randomly. Buggy spoken directions failed to name many streets, stuttered, repeated itself frequently, and hilariously used wrong units with alerts like “speed camera in 1000 miles.” Unsure where they are getting their traffic data but it is not even close to real time. Also unsure where their five star reviews are coming from. Wouldn’t be a real issue if this app weren’t so expensive.
Junk App for Navigation
by ZomB667 on 2017/09/23 16:18
This app is junk compared to Maps, google maps etc. Lies about lane preview but I’ll I’ve seen is a window with a with a picture of what’s supposed to be a road and just two blue “lanes” and this pops up randomly, Horrible navigation, at least in LA county, tells you to go the opposite way of destination sometimes and tells you to go one way then changes at the last min, also if your going to be driving in the same direction for a mile or longer all it tells you is follow directions and doesn’t preview what to look for next till its almost late, had to switch to maps to get actual directions and and a direction and street name to look for. Had this app open while my gf had maps on this was giving a completely different direction that would make me want to make a u turn or jump on the freeway while were close to my destination but not too sure of getting there. Don’t buy this app its your better off using a different navigation app
Pay to CarPlay.. pay pay pay..
by David O in Tacoma on 2019/01/04 15:54
There’s great features in this product. I love the stop light camera warnings, I love that it warns you if you’re going over the posted speed limit in an area. The traffic updates are far better than competing products or the built in iOS app. There are some quirks: speed limit zone aren’t accurate in my area - sometimes being off by as much as 15 MPH and there are weird artifacts like my next door neighbor’s house being listed as a restaurant(it’s not). Also - everything is an upgrade or a “premium feature”. Some things I can see why: Their real time dash cam is an upgrade - ok that’s fair. Their real view AR navigation is an upgrade - ok. I can see that too. Map updates for life? Painful but at the moment cheaper than competitors. But CARPLAY SUPPORT IS A PAID ADDON? Really? That’s just gouging people. Either offer support or don’t.
Professional and Powerful GPS
by WALTERCOM on 2019/06/04 17:02
GPS for automobiles is serious, very serious thing. Nowadays, erring the route is always a sign of lost time, unnecessary spending and nervousness. If you are looking for a professional geolocation tool to navigate safely and not be hostage to 3/4/5g and Wi-Fi, do not hesitate! Sygic is an excellent off-line browser with incredible accuracy and updated maps. Drive safely and assured that Sygic will always lead you to the best path. I did several tests with other GPS applications, but none proved so stable, precise and with an essential characteristic: Do not leave you in the hand, when it is more precise: when there is no internet or satellite signal. Sygic will take you wherever you want to go. Congratulations!
Not what I paid for
by rfplanner on 2018/10/28 02:20
I have just driven from El Salvador to the US border. This program has taken me to parts of Puebla and San Luis Potosí that I would not recommend anyone traveling to. The routing algorithm is flawed, or the maps are not up to date. In Mexico, where I was advised that they had up to date information, there are hundreds of petroleum stations not in the database. I have not been able to find hotels that have been built for at least five years. Just this morning I wanted to leave San Luis Potosí for Monclova and even though I could see the correct road in front of me, just 20m away, the program tried to route me down backstreets that were not in any way main highways. I drove to the highway and the program continued to try to route me elsewhere. It’s flawed, no doubt in my mind. I ended up having to use Waze to find my way correctly. Waze knew every point I put in. It found all the hotels I wanted to stay at. Also, the color scheme for the day is absolute rubbish, it can not be changed, and it’s almost impossible to see roads around a route. Want to try to divert to a different route? Forget it. Once the program runs its impossible to try to look for an alternative to avoid accidents or roadworks etc. In short, it’s a flawed product.
The worst and most expensive GPS app
by K0F13 on 2017/09/03 11:02
The crew cares about taking your money but not to fix this broken app. You put so much money into it and yet this app useless. Very pricey too. I thought this would be better than Waze but it's a complete garbage. Customer service is horrible. It's takes almost a month for customer service to contact you and when they do, they can't even help you with your issues. At least Waze is free and dependable and reliable (does not crash). Making an address or POI search in like impossible. It does not even come up and it's constantly crashing. Stay away from this over priced garbage GPS app. DO NOT LET THE NICE INTERFACE FOOL YOU!!!. It's all for the money but not about fixing this app. They also use very old maps. The arrow on the map course falls off the map and then rotates in confusion. THAT RIGHT THERE IS AN EXTREME HAZARD THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. Stay away from this app until they take the initiative to fix this app.
Problem

Hi I have a huge problem with the app it is slow since the before last update even after the last one i did update it but nothing changed, i removed it completely and reinstall it but nothing changed. My problem is that i cannot move the map, like its in slow motion it’s very very difficult to move the map with my finger without talking about running with it in the route... I have an iPhone 5s i am using Algeria map cause it’s my country, and i bought the africain license. Thanks for your intentions and please do fix my problem.
Just purchased many of the apps!
by VOFITZ on 2019/04/26 17:44
So far so good. Am giving 5 Stars and will be updating my thoughts after using each one and getting a feeling of the functionality of each. I have paid for every other app and am Hopi g this one will prove to the best one over time. Update: 1. Ability to reach customer service and no where on site map can I locate a customer service link for assistance. 2. I have been a long time customer and user of Sygic and have always been disappointed with the lack of customer service and also unable to find workarounds for iOS application issues. 3. Sygic does not recognize past purchases, such as my dash cam and front display (app for night driving). In other words, Both in the sygic website and App Store I am being ask to pay for a service that I already paid for months and even years back. Sygic has to step it up making it easier to reach customer service which is now nonexistent to be frank. As a longtime customer, I do hope that Sygic puts more time in assisting customers either by email or better yet an 800 number to confer with a live Sygic CS Representative. I hope someone from Sygic reads this below satisfactory rating and reach out to me being that it may be the only way to get in contact with someone
IT CRASHES
by T0x15e on 2020/03/07 17:59
Constantly crashes for me. During my last trip it did it 3 times. Every time it does you have to restart it, confirm that you're still on the same route, and wait for it to do whatever it does for several seconds before it goes back to giving directions. This is completely unacceptable and has not been addressed in any of the many updates this app has received... But they sure do like to add paid add-ons like HUDs and dashcams! And that's not even getting into the shady map update practices. Not even a month after I paid for a lifetime subscription to updates and traffic, they added a new super-duper premium map update option that gets you monthly map updates instead of quarterly... Except sometimes months get skipped and the maps are still out of date. I just can't trust it anymore. I'm canceling whatever subscriptions I have with Sygic and deleting the app. Enough is enough.
Angry Carplay Customer
by mecagueencima on 2019/01/26 12:45
This would have been a 5 star review. Let me start off by saying that this was the ONLY app I used for GPS. I loved it better than Google Maps, Apple Maps, WAZE, if there was a GPS app—I tried it. It’s an amazing app with really great features that you would get on an extremely fancy GPS unit (TOMTOM,Garmin, etc). I did pay to have accessibility to all of North America and some of the other add-ons you can purchase. I honestly didn’t mind paying the $20+ fee for all maps because of the offline map capability and the $5+ fee for the add-ons because the heads-up display is pretty cool. My frustration set in when Sygic was finally compatible with Carplay. I received a notification that it was finally available. I open the app, connect my phone and saw LIMITED CAPABILITY. I opened the app to see if I was doing something wrong when I saw the $35 fee to get full access on Carpay. You mean to tell me I am probably going to end up paying $60+ for a GPS app? It’s pretty messed up for this company to charge its already paid users a pretty hefty fee to have full access to a screen mirroring image on my dashboard. Thanks, but no thanks Sygic. You just lost me. If you make the fee $5 like your other add-ons, then sure. Although it really should just be included.
Crashes constantly …
by ArnellTheBlaster on 2020/03/08 16:47
Update: App has been stable for the last few days with no app update. This makes me think the issue was in the backend when it was calling home (traffic updates etc). Going on a trip to test. Finger crossed (which is not something I should be thinking of). This version or combination of iOS causes this app to crash constantly. I have been unable to keep this running while driving and driving/navigating. (Will not stay active for more than 10 minutes before crashing). It will crash and go to the home screen. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, including the maps, but have the same issue. For me, the app is unusable. Went back to an older unsupported nav app and it seems to work fine on the latest version of iOS.
Downloaded for Use with CarPlay
by edzmusic on 2019/06/15 00:51
Disappointed. I was looking for a solid, offline backup to Apple Maps for use with CarPlay. Apple Maps is great, but when you are in a low signal area, it can’t re-route you should you need to go off-route. Three issues with Sygic’s app made it a no-go for use with CarPlay: 1. the app, while using CarPlay, had trouble keeping my vehicle centered on the display, while constantly turning the map so you cannot see what the route and upcoming turns are going to be - seemed like it was having trouble locking onto GPS; 2. the voice navigation instructions were robotic and SLOW - not late in announcing, just spoken slowly; 3. the app crashed twice while navigating. I gave up and switched back Apple Maps. By the way, I tried TomTom’s app for CarPlay and it was not much better. If only Apple Maps had an offline mode.
Some good, some bad
by PopKornman on 2017/08/05 12:53
This app is great for those that want a truly offline map option and the lane assist is great....in theory. What I don't like is the fact that it waits until under 2 miles to tell you which exit you're looking for, which doesn't give you enough time to get over on some interstates. And quick interchanges are very confusing. I'm talking about those interstate exits that split into multiple lanes for different roads. This app doesn't give me enough information to get into the right lane fast enough. The only way to help this is to make sure you have the sound turned up because the voice seems to give you a bit more information. However, I prefer to drive with voice off.
A little too glitchy for me!
by TrackerFan on 2019/05/16 18:57
I really want to like this app. I’m running it on an older iPhone 6 with the latest updates iOS. Two things especially in my experience: the upper left hand menu often defaults to a screen that tells you to speak one of several commands.....and of course you can’t close that screen to get back to the menu without suffering the same annoying crash; secondly, the trial version of the app that is supposed to give you an enhanced Apple Car Play experience crashes EVERY time I attempt to use it. My car uses the latest Ford Sync 3 infotainment which supports Car Play. Won’t be throwing good money after bad for that “upgrade”. Overall the interface is slick WHEN IT WORKS but It needs improvement and I hope they can get it done properly, but for now I’d say don’t waste your money here.
Almost there
by Jerry7709 on 2017/08/21 22:27
This is one of the better GPS app outside of Apple Maps. I love the number of lanes it shows while drive and which lane to stay in before exiting the highway. The required speed limit for the road has been accurate and the navigation has been accepted. My disappointment has been in how slow it responds to redirecting when a turn is missed or when it suggests a faster route. You can drive another 10 yards before it catches up with you to get you back on track. This almost a deal breaker and hope the next update addresses this critical issue. Also, it has trouble locating me when sitting in my driveway and i'm ready to goto my destination. It doesn't locate until I begins driving so I'm not sure if I have to make a left or right when I leave. Another problem I've found is that when it's time to exit it doesn't show or announce the exit until around a mile until it's time to exit. This is way too late while you are in rush hour or unfamiliar with the area. Redirection is too slow it takes about 20 yards or so to realize that you've missed your turn and need be redirected. Not good! Taking this app down one star.
Don’t waste your money.
by Bubbed on 2019/09/03 03:28
In order to use this with Apple CarPlay, you have to buy the premium subscription which is more than $50. I did this and regret it. You cannot post alerts through the Apple CarPlay interface. You have to unplug your phone from your charger and do any postings on your cell phone. Using your cell phone while driving is illegal in many states. And it is not safe even where it is legal. I have used Waze for several years and I am totally satisfied with it. I don’t know why I spent money for this app. Also, the maps don’t seem up-to-date. There is a Kroger grocery store that moved from down the street from my office to the next street over about five years ago. The new grocery doesn’t show up in the database but the old grocery is where this program will take you. If I didn’t know better, I would be lost. Don’t buy this program.
Upsetting
by Kevinaw on 2018/08/23 19:47
During the trial period, everything seemed to work flawless (which is why I purchased it). But, since I purchased it, I am finding more and more flaws...such as, it doesn’t save my settings. Almost every time I open the app, something has changed. I have “fastest route” in my settings, but when I preview the routes, the primary route it chooses is not the fastest. When I change the route and select the “fastest route”, it goes back to the “longest route” when I start driving. The speed limits are not always correct. There was a good 3 mile stretch of interstate where the indicated speed limit was 5mph faster than what it should have been. I drive this route a lot and it has been the slower speed limit for a very long time (years, not months!). Apparently, all they want is your money!
Issue for 6 month
by Lawen2121 on 2019/02/07 21:43
I have priced multiple Addons in Sygic then I changed my device till know I am not able to restore my purchases or update my maps, already contacted sygic support by email and provide them with the screen shot of error and that I was that I am not able to update my map and I got some feedback at the end I was bored and saw that it was not going any where it was just emails from my side and to there sides still I am trying to find a way to make it work it’s not logical for me to spend this amount of money for it not to work properly I hope some from sygic read this so they can provide me with support by the way today I opened a new case with them regarding same issue to see if something can be done after 6 month I am hoping for the best but I am not optimistic
Please fix
by mildly dissapointed on 2018/02/11 19:31
App is ok but my home address is wrong and sometimes gives the wrong directions or sends you the long way around if your gonna charge so much for the app you should be doing better research of the state maps and roads can’t ask customers to try and recall every missed turn or wrong direction the app gave them on a trip that’s why we pay for the app so we don’t have to do your research for you I hope you get the app fixed soon I had to stop using it for now considering it doesn’t even know my own address and I can’t change it I should be able to change the address myself at least on my map so I do like the design and the way it’s laid out but am disappointed in the way it executes the directions
HUD doesn’t work like it says it does
by MoGunz22 on 2018/05/14 19:11
I downloaded this because it markets itself as an app that works with a HUD. It’s a separate mirror component that has a mirror and gives you a HUD using a normal phone. All it needs to work is for the phone to project backwards. Think of how something is reflected in a mirror. I paid the $5.99 to unlock this “premium” feature. But it doesn’t give you navigation on the “HUD” display. It just tells you your speed and the speed it shows is wrong. Don’t waste your money. HUD does NOT work on this app. Update: They added a response that says to contact customer service. The app does not work as intended. I have never had to contact customer service for anY app in my life. Especially a navigation app. I downloaded another app with HUD capability. $2.99 and works right away. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. IT COSTS MORE THAN THEIR COMPETITION AND DOESN'T WORK. GARBAGE.
Directions need work, can drive me crazy
by stephensafetyharbor on 2019/03/02 13:13
I love the app for the little speed limit notice in the lower right corner. It also shows my speed a I set it to turn red a 5 miles over the speed limit. For this, it would be better if it flashed a couple times as I exceed the 5 MPH over. But my big gripe is the verbal directions are quite stupid. I recently drove along a straight road with one route number for about seven miles. At virtually every intersection with a traffic light a voice told me to continue straight ahead! This happened about 15 times before I shut the voice off! Please fix it. I am Stephen in Safety Harbor Florida and I was traveling to the USF eye Institute in Tampa.
Otherwise, with time, there will be a long queue of frustrated customers lining up
Good when driving, but when walking the voice commands go haywire
by JVP in Silverlake on 2019/02/14 08:38
Generally works as expected, and the downloadable maps are a godsend when driving where cellular or WiFi are not available or affordable. But when I connected earbuds to the iPhone in my pocket and used Sygic to give me directions while walking through Paris, France, the routing and voice commands went haywire, telling me arbitrarily to turn left, right, left, right, left as if I were doing somersaults. I had to turn off the routing and just use it as a plain map. Also, when using GPS my iPhone’s battery drained rapidly; a backup power pack is essential.
By far the BEST
by Johnirwin on 2017/07/20 21:39
This NAV application is by far the best out there. I've used all of them and this on stands apart. The only suggestion I have is making it easier to find the location your going to EASILY. Often, you are in a rush to get on the road and finding the CORRECT place just doesn't work out right so you need to slow down and try every way to "fool the application" in finding the correct place. Sometimes I need to drop off the APP and go to google where I find the place right off and then just use Google to get me there. ALL THE TIME WISHING THAT I WAS USING THIS APP. User needs yo know that finding the place is just as bullet proof as Google
Limited Value
by iPadiMac on 2019/01/19 01:02
I bought the add ones because they were fun and I wanted to see how it compared to other mapping programs, and because I wanted to see how it compared to Copilot as an offline map for travel to UK. I don’t think I really used it much, but then it popped up on CarPlay. The CarPlay map display is ok, but the real problem is that the search engine is completely worthless. You cannot find where you are never mind finding where you want to go, unless you know the exact address. I am currently staying in a hotel which is displayed on the map, but typing the name of the hotel returns nothing. I tried it for lots of places on the map and got the same result. I can give Siri incredibly vague requests and always seem to get a good answer.
Not stable
by Lingo1991 on 2018/06/20 23:30
I just bought this and the maps are very cool as well as the interface, but the system does not work properly. I have used this once, and tried using after but for some unknown reason, it shuts the app off on my iPhone 6S. I don’t know if the problem is my iPhone itself, but I really don’t think so. It also causes my phone to overheat, and probably that’s why the app crashes. I was in the middle of the road when it shut down for first time which is very frustrating especially when you’re paying for something, you expect more reliability. (in my case) I don’t know what the solution is, but if there isn’t an update that fixes this, id kindly ask for a refund because so far I’m not seeing my money’s worth.
Good but has a bug
by Thorax 1a on 2018/01/02 03:50
I’ve used this app in Italy and the USA and overall it has been quite helpful. However, I have seen a persistent bug where the app stops providing audio cues. It stops talking for no reason at all, right in the middle of trips. This is very bad because it’s dangerous to have to look at the phone carefully while driving. Without the audio the app is not nearly as useful. I have a standard iPhone 7 and I can’t seem to fix this problem. I hope the company will respond and address it, or suggest something I should be doing.
Best app
by jobie72 on 2019/01/31 00:33
I was recently diagnosed with cancer so I have to travel to Boston a lot now. and im from Far north ofMaine so there Thousands and more Street in Boston so we tried a bunch of GPS and each of them failed on something or another so we figured we try this app out and it’s awesome it doesn’t fail you can download each state map so you don’t need Wi-fi or cell service so if you need to go under tunnels it’s still there and that means everything when you’re in 6 lane of traffic so thank you would recommend it to everyone thank you
Added 1 star for CarPlay support but too little too late.
by no spam for me on 2020/07/03 15:17
I gave this app 1 star before for not supporting CarPlay, terrible routing (including no way to avoid carpool lanes and all ETAs assuming carpool lane use, and in some cases routing me into Carpool-only freeway in ramps, which would have resulted in me breaking the law and giving no alternative routes), and a UI that just never seemed to work right....and of course extra money for frequent updates after charging $60 for the app itself? Nope. Today I’m updating my review and adding 1 star for CarPlay support finally but the terrible routing and glitchy UI still make this app pointless especially since Apple Maps has improved so much. I like the HUD function. Too bad the rest of the app still feels so half-baked.
Wrong update
by YavorAtanasov on 2019/11/13 15:29
I have paid for North America lifetime, world lifetime and several add-ons and with last update (18.4) the app simply crashes at start. Submitted help request and get automated answer that you guys are aware on some crashes and work on it. There’s no some crashes - the app refuses to start at all. Period. That’s the first time I ever see on iOS app to crashes and reinstall on the app itself or rebooting the phone doesn’t help at all. This is ridiculous. Did you ever tried this update before submit it? One more thing - before submitting the problem on your website there’s promise from you that you’ll contact me up to 48 hours. After submission the message was stated 3 to 5 days. Great job guys. I’ll contact Apple to see can I by any chance get refund for all licenses that I foolishly spent on that app.
Good but dashcam needs work.
by Packetrider on 2018/05/07 16:07
This is probably the best set of offline map tools I’ve seen for mobile. I know the dash cam is a secondary gimmick component to the maps app but to really be able to market it as a dashcam replacement please add a mini-map or split screen map/video recording option. The saved video file needs to include more than just the gps location, it needs to show your car moving on the map as you drive along with the camera video. As a dev myself I know this would be fairly easy to do just by copying your map canvas and overlaying it on the video frames before writing.
Paying for Premium Features is ridiculous when you can get them for free with another app.
by LeoNidas_82 on 2019/01/15 19:56
After doing a little research, I found this app to be the most downloaded GPS navigation app in the world with free features, so I downloaded the app to give it a try. When it comes to navigation apps I’m very particular. After testing (Sygic) GPS Navigation I found a couple things I didn’t like, this app is hard to navigate while driving, not user friendly at all. Plus the features that are free are very basic, features such as navigation, speed limit warnings, real-time traffic info, dynamic lane assistance, and junction view, you have to purchase the premium package is order to use them. I found another app I will be using that will include all these features, FOR FREE!
Disappointed
by i give up, back to Waze on 2019/09/18 02:49
Several issues: • I paid for the dashcam option but it’s never worked right... It’s supposed to retain the last 10 minutes of video but anytime I complete a trip, stop the car and then switch over to save the video it only saves the last couple of seconds, between the time I press the dash cam icon and hit the save button • I like the feature that overlays your route over the live video but using the dashcam disables that feature • if I look up an address, for example 1234 Main St., it finds it, but if I save the location it more often than not does not put the number I searched for in, it seems to find the address that it feels is closest to the GPS location so the address may actually be saved as 1236 Main St. or similar, so the addresses I have saved for home and work, although they will successfully get me to the proper location, show the wrong address. • fails to find many local businesses, even if they are in my address book • the default view when navigating is too zoomed out, no way to save a preference of a closer view or have it zoom in automatically when nearing a turn
Needs improvement to compete with others
by maranello italia on 2019/08/16 11:57
The search need improvement!! The new search updates provide restaurant and other places but very few near my location, most results are 100 or more miles away! User has no ability to search location(s) or at least those places near me. Also, the search is only using address if I have the name of the place I’m looking for (ie McDonald’s or Macy’s) it is of no use. UI needs improvement too. Zoom doesn’t provide street detail good enough ( ie street names or places don’t appear as you zoom. In general the app seems slow and sometimes inaccurate providing directions even when connection to internet is strong and not an issue.
Why does it tell me to go straight?
by AndrewMcDonald on 2019/06/14 21:59
I paid for this app for an upcoming trip. I prefer to have onboard navigation data in a GPS app since I often drive through no-data areas. I was testing this app last week and it is doing something truly annoying. As I was driving up a main thoroughfare (Metcalf Ave in Overland Park, KS) to kept telling me to go straight at each intersection. As this was a long series of traffic lights, spaced pretty close together, it got really irritating, really fast. Other than the fact that I don’t need to be told when not to turn at every stop light, the software is OK. I wish the up-sells were a little less in your face.
It has problem running for iPhone5S under IOS 11.0.3
by WenwenShu on 2017/10/31 04:57
It always crashed just after I opened it. Sometimes crashed after I chose a destination and tried to get directions. It was good while it was working, it gives forecasts, visual, vocal directions. When it crashes several times when you trying to get directions, it frustrates. It didn’t happen before IOS upgraded to 11.0.1. It also doesn’t have small roads map, like the pathway from main road to my house, or main roads to a point in a community which is actually quite misleading. I paid for the package deal. I feel really disappointed now.
Route planning is very frustrating!
by Mick847 on 2018/11/20 23:48
I really wanted to like this app for a lot of reasons - it has features that really sounded useful, and the downloadable maps would be good for when I sometimes spend an hour or so driving through areas with no cell coverage. But I put in start and endpoints for a 2000 mile trip I do several times per year, and it gives me several alternative routes. So far, so good. The. I try to zoom in to see where the routes go. Bad news! Even for areas where I’ve downloaded the maps, you can zoom in to see which highways will be used, or even what cities the route goes through! You can go and look at turn-by-turn directions, but that’s mind-numbing for a 2000 mile trip, and it can still be difficult to get context. Turning right on Main Street, for instance doesn’t toll you what TOWN that turn happens in! I may try it out for some simple short trips, but at the moment it seems like it’s been a waste of both time and money... If I can’t work it a route beforehand, it’s obviously not going to be helpful if I have to make changes while I’m in-route... I’m very disappointed!

I hope the bugs get ironed out soon.

by jamierules41 on 2020/08/30 02:01
I like all of the features of this app but approx fifty percent of the time, when I enter an address, it says not found so I have to use Waze or Google Maps, which are free btw and they always have it. I pay for this app and nothing. That’s frustrating. Unless some huge improvements are made in that department, I will not be renewing when my license is up.

by ggkjesnjddf on 2020/08/27 14:36
I am so tired of this app shutting off whenever it feels like it. There are a lot of free apps that works way better than this garbage app. I even bought the “red light camera” add on. Had to drive 150 miles before I found an area it worked in. Another waste of money.

by Amolcare P on 2020/08/26 05:39
It doesn’t keep up with the iOS updates. The night view is inoperable. If the various alerts are enabled, it is impossible to listen to music. Even in neighboring Poland, it was behind on road repairs in a good size city. I own all of it and remain unhappy

The app isn’t bad but even after buying a paid version it sends several notifications to buy some other product every day. Often for the same product. This should change.

Help! Any help???
Please do not delete the old version
by Mcmartis on 2020/06/19 13:03
I still use the old app, the new version addresses search is not working. You see the address on the map, but the search does not recognize the addresses. The old version is still the best GPS app.
Updates

In my area looks like nobady make updates min 22 years. I like this application, I Would like to use, then I have to pay $13 for old app, not updated-it no make sense. Pawel.
Sadly, same disappointment here as well.
by Babacar on 2020/06/15 22:59
Was delighted about the full version purchase until the crashes started to occur with unreliable route calculation.
Confused with Sygic Car Navigation
by MaceWindu57 on 2020/06/15 22:12

Total scam you buy the lifetime and have all the amenities then after a while tell you your subscription has endedSo you have to buy another lifetime. Then the features are taken away. Heads up display fir one and then told you have to purchase separately. Total scam and nickel and dies you to death. Stay away

Greedy company
by Coldzero17 on 2020/05/29 13:34
I bought the app to use it for my daily navigation in my car.

Otherwise, with time, there will be a long queue of frustrated customers lining up
Good when driving, but when walking the voice commands go haywire
by JVP in Silverlake on 2019/02/14 08:38
Generally works as expected, and the downloadable maps are a godsend when driving where cellular or WiFi are not available or affordable.
