Most poker helpers fill their tips with rapid fire jargon. Not productive if you’re trying to teach and attract new players. OK if you want to get criticized by veteran hip players who think they are pros.

I like that it tells you what move you should have made when you do things wrong, but the long winded explanations jam packed with jargon, I get so lost and stop trying. This app is amazing. It puts you in the hot seat of real hands from actual tournaments and allows you to make choices and gives you feedback for them. If your choice was poor; the app will explain concisely why your choice was not the greatest and moves forward with the hand using the correct choice. You move through the hand making choices usually till the river or till you fold. (Folding is an important lesson the game tries to teach in certain situations.) This app is awesome and worth every penny! (Buy the big bundle and get everything) Become a winner today!!!

WPT Review
by Earlhw on 2016/07/30 06:54
I have reviewed most of 4 packets and find them very informative. Sometimes the play moves a bit fast and I have to preview it to get the most out of it. I don't agree with all if the assessments, very few. I feel the the lessons come after playing the hands for harder concepts. Agustin I previews specific hands until I understand them. The preview function is very helpful, one of the best parts of the tool.

So far...
by Uumapie on 2016/06/28 19:42
I've only played the starter pack once. I think I could learn more about how to play. I'm not happy about putting real money into the game to advance, that part feels misleading. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. How much can be learned from the starter pack?
Excellent, not perfect.
by Kevin USAF on 2016/06/19 16:12
The price of packs has come down a lot making this a solid value. Jonathan Little is a top pro and offers solid advice. However, there are quite a few bits of advice I don't particularly care for. One example is how he likes to vary his bet sizing depending on the bet's intended purpose. I'd think this could be a potential tell. I don't mind it in certain situations against certain player types, but I think it's overused here. With that said, making a more standard sized bet is usually still called a "good move." It's just not the "best move" per the recommendation. So it's just a matter of opinion which is fine. Little does a great job of explaining the thought process behind which moves he recommends and that's what is truly important--learning how to think in certain situations. All in all, I think it's an outstanding training tool.
A good investment

Great intro to poker
by Fokissed on 2016/05/15 19:16
This is a great intro to poker and strategy plays while explains exactly why each move is made, so the same plays can be applied in the real world in similar situations. There were definitely a lot of poker words I had to look up so a built in poker dictionary would have been nice, but definitely worth the time and money and I really hope this gets some more updates and attention at some point because it's a really great start!

Good app, packs are expensive
by Split_7 on 2016/04/13 04:11
This seems like a good app to learn poker and how to play better. I send the $20 on the combo pack and feel it was expensive for what you get. I went through all six packs the first night. Seems like it should last longer than that. Pack sequences are all the same so you go through one and basically memorize the plays, even if you don't fully understand why you are supposed to play that way. Some of the descriptions are vague, some as detailed. All in all a good app, but 4 stars for being expensive.

Glitchy
by Ddort on 2016/04/09 12:21
Lots of good stuff here. However, one module says that people just learning about implied odds use it to justify making bad calls, then immediately follows with the statement: "on average you are going to win more than enough chips to make up the difference between the pot odds you should be getting to make the call" If, on average I will win more than enough chips, that sounds like I should use implied odds every time. I don't know if this was a typo, bad editing, or I just don't get what he's saying. It sounds like, if you take the sentence by itself, that it's telling you implied odds work out in those good implied odds situations because you get more than enough return, on average. But when you put that sentence directly after saying not all hands have good implied odds, it sounds like it's saying "but don't worry about that, because on average you'll get more than enough chips to make up for it". There is a comment section in the app where I tried to post this for clarification. When I clicked submit, the whole app froze up and I had to restart. Confusion and glitchy app = 2 stars.

I have only been playing off and on for a couple of years. I have read quite a few books by some of the so called pros. This app has filled in many holes in my game and I am already seeing improvement in my play. It is great to have immediate feed back when you make a mistake especially when you think you have been playing a certain aspect of your game correctly and find out your play is totally wrong. The only negative comment I have is that it seems that some of the explanations have words in the wrong order which makes it difficult to read. Not that I am literary scholar either.

Wicked Poker Trainer!
by AmyFara on 2015/08/24 23:52
I love this app! I've been playing in weekly tournament-style home games n have been winning more than losing so I got this app to help improve my playing by becoming more solidly n n less predictably. I play with the same players every week so it is essential that I learn as much as I can so that it's harder to discern my patterns n help me keep a daunting table image. The app that Jonathan has created greatly helps me improve my play by being more knowledgeable and less predictable pre- and post-flop, ultimately making me a force to be reckoned with. I love what you've done here, Jonathan, you've got me thinking and playing like I want and should be playing! If you love hold 'em, get this app and begin playing better immediately! Thank you BIG time!!! 5 stars for sure!!!!!!
Good app but in app purchases too expensive
by Josh101prf on 2013/05/27 06:39
This is a good app. Especially for beginners. I haven't played poker in a couple years so it works great as a refresher as well. My only real compliant is the cost of in app purchases. $4.99 for 15 hands of practice is WAY to much. 50 hands for $4.99 would be reasonable. I realize it takes a lot of work for each hand but in the long run more people would make purchases if they got more for their money. I won't even recommend this app to anyone because I don't want them to know how much I paid for 15 hands of practice. Once more hands are available for the pre-flop pack ill change my rating. Until then Ill continue to replay the hands I've already purchased or look elsewhere for more training for less money.
Great App!
by TomyKthestatman on 2012/12/20 20:40
Just saw this on WPT Twitter and got in my iPod. The training on the sample hands seems very sound. The choices are explained very clearly, so if a recommended best choice seemed strange to me, they have fully explained the reasoning behind it. I like it a lot. I'm sure there will be critics who disagree with the advice given, but that is secondary. Even advice that varies from your game deserves a listen, and may give you a chance to compare your reasoning with that of the pro's who wrote this. Also the graphics and layout is great, very easy to follow and play. I will be using this app a lot, and putting this training into my game.
Enjoyable!
by braillepro on 2014/05/23 02:50
This app presents scenarios in which the user is asked to either fold, check, bet or raise and rewards 1, 2, or 3 coins according to how closely his play aligns with the lesson. Each play is then critiqued with pointers and calculations to help the user refine his situational betting. The vocabulary was a bit beyond my understanding, at first, but even though I'm a rookie, I picked it up fairly quickly. I've only finished a half dozen hands, so I'm looking forward to playing some more. Try this app. I suspect it will help many beginning players become better than average. And that's the real point, right?

WPT Bootcamp Alumni and current member of WPT Bootcamp Beta Online - I like how this trainer ties together all the lessons from camp. There were a lot of information to absorb from the camps and I like how this applies theory to practical application. I review this from start to finish at least once a month. I have played live hands where the situations were similar to the lessons in this trainer and knew what to do. I had trouble with implied odds from class and it didn't sink in until the odds section in this app. The only problem is this mainly deals with deep stack play. Overall good product.
Aces Up
by Craiger62 on 2014/07/29 22:39
Great tutorial with explanations. However, there should be additional strategy tutorials. Continuation betting is part of a larger strategy. Would love to see additional practice hands and maybe even some tutorial prior to the hand being dealt. Overall I like the app as it showed where I had continuation betting weaknesses and also helped me understand the things I already do well better. I don't like the progressive cost for each lesson. I would develop a package and possibly charge for add on packs for the lessons.
Great app. In-App upgrades too much $$
by Boston Burnsy on 2013/05/01 00:56
As a poker player with what i consider mid-range skill I found this app to be very well designed as an educationsl tool. It focuses on core concepts and strategy and clearly explains the why. I'd rate it 5 stars if it weren't for the cost of the additional hand packs you need to buy to continue. I understand there is probably good value in the larger hand packs, but $8.99 is asking too much: AFTER I learn the skills and start winning I'll be able to afford it, not now!
Solid foundation in no-limit basics
by degenfish on 2013/12/31 13:48
This is the best app I've found for reviewing basic poker strategy and learning critical concepts like pot odds, continuation betting, and assigning hand ranges to your opponents. If you're a beginning player who wants to take your skills to the next level, start by completing all the hand packs available in this app, review them periodically, and supplement it with practice on the similar InstaPoker app targeted to the specific games you're playing (i.e. cash, tournament)
Very good, but needs some variety.
by Packerclay on 2013/09/05 01:42
And more hands! This is a great app for practicing poker. The analysis of each hand is very in-depth. I wish you got more hands for the price. Also, all the hands have the same blinds and pretty much the same relative stack size. There needs to be some hands where the blinds are bigger or the stacks are smaller to explain when and how to open your range of hands compared to blind and stack size. But it is still a great app.
Fixed a leak in my game
by GaryR1 on 2013/05/01 17:07
I found a MAJOR leak in my game using this app. The explanations allowed me to quickly correct it. The proof was my quick winnings on line. This app got me to sign up for their live boot camp. Amazing! I go back to this app every week as a refresher. It is far more productive then playing with play money at the on-line sites. This is a must for every level of skill a poker player may have achieved. You will only get smarter.

Started to play tournament style Hold'em once a month with my neighbors a couple of years ago. For the first eight months I was always finishing close to last. I bought the app and a few other packs and now I am always a contender, it has more than paid for itself. The app is well presented and explains the "why" behind each good and bad decision. You can't beat it.
Great start!
by DaveG762 on 2013/02/05 05:58
This app is a great start. It gives you clear and concise critiques of your performance on each hand as you play and gently steers you in the right direction without costing you real money. The ability to go back and replay your hands helps lock in and reinforce the lessons and keep it fresh in your mind.... After completing half of this trainer, I'm up $750 in 9 hours of live play in 1-2 No Limit.
Good basic tool
by Swgalley on 2012/12/28 04:23
Good basic advice. The opponents are very bad players, allowing you to get in marginal positions where you should never allow yourself to get into. Just my humble opinion. I certainly can use the advice, for I downloaded it! lol and I liked it, but I play better competitors. I was able to use the medium strong pair advice, for I too frequently get in trouble with only a weak overpair to the board. 😎

by PunkieUnkie on 2017/10/27 05:00
I want to learn the game, and have only caught glimpses on tv. I like that it tells you what move you should have made when you do things wrong, but the long winded explanations jam packed with jargon, I get so lost and stop trying. If you’re new to the game, don’t use this. If you’re somewhat familiar with the game, I’m sure this would be pretty helpful

(Buy the big bundle and get everything) Become a winner today!!!

by greview21 on 2017/02/16 21:29
I like the app, it's clean and simple which is what I was looking for. I think there are areas for improvement to make it really nice. One would be a larger text window for the feedback. It makes you scroll almost every time. A second would be to provide you the raising choices in terms of the BB or the pot (i.e.: make a 3x bet or. 1/3,1/2 pot bet) it goes into this detail in the explanation but I think it would help the users memory more in those terms. Overall nice job.

This app is like a college course on how to bet Texas Hold me in every type of playing format. Only real pros wouldn't gain helpful strategies from this app. Each hand is from a setting at some tournament event and compares your moves to the pro who played this hand. It even tells you the tendencies of the players you are playing against. Would recommend to anyone serious about learning more about playing better. You earn points you can use in later hands.....you won't regret getting this app if you want to become a smarter player anywhere😎.

by Earlhw on 2016/07/30 06:54
I have reviewed most of 4 packets and find them very informative. Sometimes the play moves a bit fast and I have to preview it to get the most out of it. I don't agree with all if the assessments, very few. I feel the the lessons come after playing the hands for harder concepts. Agustin I previews specific hands until I understand them. The preview function is very helpful, one of the best parts of the tool.

by Uumapie on 2016/06/28 19:42
I've only played the starter pack once.

Interactive feedback.
by sharedsector on 2017/03/22 14:21
This app is amazing.
Valuable Help for most
by msro46 on 2017/02/04 06:43
This app is like a college course on how to bet Texas Hold me in every type of playing format.

Not very helpful to those just picking up the game
by PunkieUnkie on 2017/10/27 05:00
I want to learn the game, and have only caught glimpses on tv. I like that it tells you what move you should have made when you do things wrong, but the long winded explanations jam packed with jargon, I get so lost and stop trying. If you’re new to the game, don’t use this. If you’re somewhat familiar with the game, I’m sure this would be pretty helpful

WPT Bootcamp Alumni and current member of WPT Bootcamp Beta Online - I like how this trainer ties together all the lessons from camp. There were a lot of information to absorb from the camps and I like how this applies theory to practical application. I review this from start to finish at least once a month. I have played live hands where the situations were similar to the lessons in this trainer and knew what to do. I had trouble with implied odds from class and it didn't sink in until the odds section in this app. The only problem is this mainly deals with deep stack play. Overall good product.

by Craiger62 on 2014/07/29 22:39
Great tutorial with explanations.
