Really enjoyable
by chris wilson 123 on 2019/10/14 15:50
I am a 30s something expat business consultant. I really notice a difference in my brain functioning after consistently using luminosity. Just started again after about a year not using it. I would highly recommend it for folks entering or in their retirement. It really helps to keep things sharp.

Several years ago I was involved in a nasty car accident and I got a severe TBI. I am very lucky to be alive much functioning at the level I do. I was introduced to Lumosity during my recovery and try to use it everyday. I givy much of my cognitive recovery’s credit to Lumosity. You are not only fun but an incredible aid that helps wake your mind.

by KyleTSalter on 2019/09/30 06:40
Love this app! My mind feels strengthened every time I play. I just wish they would use ads to monetize the app so that you don’t have to pay (as much) for the premium service. I don’t pay for premium but would love the benefits for a better price.
I love it, but...
by Noleyt on 2019/09/28 22:43
This app is amazing, I just wish the “premium” things were free; the app is so great, it would make the experience perfect if that was the case

Hello , please review ! I’m someone granddaughter and my grandmother got me playing this game I’m 16. I have a suggestion I love this game but it pretty unfair that we have to pay for the games but let me grab your attention for a second. what if you made a points method we’re all you points were gathered together from playing and some of the premium games you could free week to play it. Like 7500 point to play a game. It’s great suggestion and it would keep people playing a whole lot especially people who love it ! Thank you for your time
Can’t change the language
by jli050 on 2019/09/25 10:29
Well, I don’t know what happened to my Lumosity, but after I downloaded and opened it, it was in Korean, and I have no way to change it. I have a US Apple ID.
Took 65$ from me
by DaEMF11 on 2019/09/25 02:32
5$ a month (60$ a year) it says but then it just takes 65$ all at once. DO NOT BUY PREMIUM
I want my money back
by cjrosio on 2019/09/22 19:35
I never intended on buying a year long subscription to this app and now I’m out $63 on something I don’t want. There’s no way to make a claim to get my money back either. It charged me at 12am on the last day so it wasn’t even a full trial for me to have a chance to cancel.

I quit with the trains. It just seemed never ending getting those trains in the right station. Maybe this is also a game to test your patience; if so, I’ve failed! I don’t really care about this. It’s a game and not that important. Bye!
Improvements
by Seedreys on 2019/09/19 16:50
The game definitely needs improvement because one of the games where you tap what you find at the beach I was just on the 6th one I tapped and I know for a fact I had not tapped the same one so that was just weird but overall I like it. Let’s see if this helps with my brain cognitive memory and anything else.

Still buggy, no luck logging in
by hey!!abbott on 2019/09/17 00:43
I deleted app a year ago due to multiple problems and inadequate customer support. Decided to give it snother go. Downloaded on ipad. Can’t log in, password reset doesn’t work, no email link ever appears. It recognizes that i have an account because i cant create new account using same name\email combo. Nothing wrong with my email functions or server. Now I remember why I deleted app.
Awesome
by DedeeGJ on 2019/09/16 13:29
I haven’t played this game in a while and getting back to playing it lets me know where my mind has gone 🤦🏾‍♀️
Never stopped sending me emails after I deleted it
by Chezman0713 on 2019/09/16 11:26
I deleted the app because I never played it and needed the space. This was a year ago. I still get 5 emails a month! STOP SENDING ME EMAILS!
Fun games but premium is too much
by TDaggs143 on 2019/09/15 16:29
Too expensive for premium
Lifetime memberships, turns into a couple months for the same $200 (on special)
by Menuga on 2019/09/14 06:29
BEFORE the “meat” of this review, I just want to comment on a couple of others. I’m with the one that said they’d tried 3 times and heard nothing, but you keep getting auto reply saying they’ll be in touch in 48 hours “write reply above the line”. When you do....you get a notice saying “we’ll be in touch with 48 hours”. 2 others stated that ONLY Apple can give refunds. EVERY TIME I finally got a response, the LIADVISOR (lying advisor) told me once that I’d “requested a refund, and that it had been applied back to my card”. The next time, they said they couldn’t find which card it’d been applied too, but it had been documented that THEY had issued my refund.” So yes.....the lie they give you is the flavor of the day. 1- 8x12 and can’t get it back 1- $60 for the year and can’t get it back. 1-ME.....LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, I didn’t want mine back, and they swear they refunded me. Yes....that THEY refunded me, as in, “you requested a refund and we returned it on.......”. Nothing about Apple. “WE REFUNDED THE FEES”. BUT they SAY it’s documented, but upon request for a copy of this request, refund transaction, etc.......they aren’t able to get copies, it’s just in their system, but THEY had issued a full refund. (After 6/8 months of use? I don’t think so, and they know not!) ****ok.....the meat of the review follows**** Unless you have money to throw away and not care, OR throw it away and enjoy back and forth of them saying you LIED, DON’T Pay for this app. Use the free part, get bored quickly and move on. The PAID part is awesome, as long as it lasts. Occasional lifetime membership offered for $200. Great deal & fun. If you miss a few weeks, couple of months and log back in....your membership is gone. They deny you ever had one and that they don’t offer lifetime. If you be one insistent that they DO, they escalate to a senior liar who says after “MUCH RESEARCH 🤮🤮🤮that they’ve located your account (even though a week ago they swore they didn’t offer it) and you HAD a lifetime account, but you asked the funds be returned. They just don’t tell you WHERE they returned them too. NOR do they say they gave back the full amount. (Which you KNOW for $200 aid you gave the account somewhere around 6-7 months, then an extended time away and you come back to get back in the lifetime part of your membership, they are NOT going to refund it all as the “senior liadvisor” tells you they did. SUPPOSEDLY this was returned almost 4 years ago. The card never got a refund nor did I get the money, and that bank card has now been closed out. So they tell you “if you can send them the proof or receipt of purchase that they’ll be glad to reactivate your membership. YES......reactivate your 6 month LIFETIME membership. So unless you plan on dying in 6 months to get your lifetime membership, OR don’t mind being screwed out of $200 for a lifetime membership that they “don’t offerl, but they are able to find a record of it, (which during the same week they send an email offering the lifetime membership” 🙄) Or, your 3rd choice is to have back and forth banter with them for over 4 months which each person has different lines, excuses, lies....whatever the sheet for the day says. And then if you still pursue it, you then get to hear the sane crap from the senior LIADVISORS. Apparently they’ve been at this long enough they can make this crap up as they go, and don’t have to rely on a daily printout. “What 💩 to tell the customer today!” I’ll admit, they earned that job and that LIADVISOR title, because they are GOOD at it!!! Do yourself a favor, search for more reputable “brain game” apps. There are several, and most free. Maybe have to do 2-3 to get the variety, but they are free and no hassle/lies. **********Memarado is AWESOME***** ******As well as Memrise********* Even if it cost a little more $, (they haven’t offered the lifetime membership yet...(but they are honest about it), great fakes, more challenging, more fun, really make you think. And when/if you contact them, they are immediately responsive, not “in 24/48 hours”. I’m shocked that Lumosity is still allowed to offer its “services”. You’d think they’d prevent an app from providing an automatic “SCREW YOU” in their fees when you purchase the game. The least honest, caring about the purchasers if any cheesy app I’ve seen. Just something to get you sucked in, take your money and lie about it being returned. Better, more challenging games. (Unless being lied to is your thing, then this is NOT the app to get!! You’ll be aka Ed at all the creative ways they find to lie to you, s tee you over, take your money fir a lifetime membership shdcsay they don’t offer that, yet within a week you get an e-mail where they are offering a lifetime membership. You can EASILY go to the purchase page for this...and you THINK it’s going to ge a good deal, but then take a few hours, get the lube, sure me good confine, fund your favorite position and have a note pad to make a list of the creative ways they have of lying to you, you’ll be amazed. (And well screwed by the time they do their thing!!!!!!)
Fun but...

This this game is really fun every day you get three different games you can play for free kind of.
For others not sure

A very well rounded group of exercises that help you remember things you learned years ago and for me personally, I’m disabled so I’m encouraged to do mind stimulating activities. You have a lot and I thank you.
Fun and A Trap
by Brendasplenda on 2019/09/11 19:35
Lumosity games are certainly fun to play. You will spend endless minutes, or hours a day if you are like me, obsessing over a challenging game or beating your last score. But that’s the thing. It may help the brain some but it also can be a time waster. I can’t say whether it improved my cognitive functioning. Lumosity was sued for making unfounded claims. So there’s that. Cancelling is hard. Good luck finding the “Unsubscribe” link. I managed to cancel auto renew but have not yet received an email confirmation. It should be instant- so I’m worried that I’ll be charged again. Now Lumosity certainly has no problem emailing me about games and renewing. It shouldn’t be so hard to cancel. It’s like the goal is to frustrate you so you give up or forget. But little do they know I’ve been playing their memory games and I won’t forget 😉.
Nice with problems
by gymnastchar on 2019/09/09 03:48
I think this app is great but there is very limited things you can do without paying for it which is too bad. I think they should be able to do stuff a little bit more but otherwise it’s really awesome
Poor Instructions
by Nan23! on 2019/09/07 00:43
The instructions to many of the games are not good at all. The app is a good idea but the instructions need work.

by Mira Mosche on 2019/08/29 12:43
I don’t get to play the games that I want all the time and some of the games are absolute trash and I hate them, but they have some good content and their games r Dina and helpful. I wish they would ask what skills I need to practice because some of the stuff is too easy I also with that they asked what games are my favorite so I could pick. But yeah overall lumosity is fun
Not freee!!!!!!

Sham Wow
by Star Ship on 2019/08/20 04:58
In the beginning the app asks for you to click on the cognitive tasks you want to improve. I only clicked math. I've had lumosity for a few weeks now. The only games that consistently stay unlocked and inaccessible are the math games. Coincidence? It doesn’t feel like it. How can this be fixed?

Good app but not for 12 dollars a month
by Samantha Karasek on 2019/08/16 17:11
I really enjoy this app but the fact that premium is 11.99 a month is just too much. 5.99 or 6.99 is one thing but 11.99? No thanks. I play the free games but have honestly been playing the same ones everyday which are helpful but not the point of wanting to upgrade. I’m aware you can just pay annually (59.99) but realistically it’s more convenient to pay monthly Incase you ever want to cancel. If they lowered the monthly rate I would definitely be upgrading.
Excellent challenge

SO WORTH IT😁💕💋🤜🏾🤛🏾

Look I’m telling you download this game !! This is a really good game to get your brain works and more. I’m only thirteen and my boyfriend goes on my phone saying, “ Why do you have a brain game on your phone?!😅” This is why! 1. Fun and the games aren’t boring 2. The brain game works 3. I got the PREMIUM and it’s worth my money 😂 4. You heard it from a youngster 👌🏾🤘🏾🤪

Memory and speed
by Auntie Mariam on 2019/08/14 16:06
I have started using Lumosity 3 years. Sometimes I train regularly and sometimes I leave it for a while. I found that lumosity charges me up to score and beat the next level. But more importantly it has taught me how to organize my thoughts and plan better. So it has not been about scoring but about understanding the logical way about scoring. I find some games more interesting than others. There are games that I enjoy playing (math, language, train track, leave direction and remembering the items on the beach) but some games I simply don’t understand (eg coffee machine). My grand children (aged 7&11) play as well and they enjoy it immensely. They too started playing 3 years ago. Best regards Mariam
Fun and challenging

Utterly useless
by jame falangy on 2019/08/08 19:29
This game serves no purpose. I can’t describe the stupidity of this game. It is the same everyday no new games. How is that supposed to improve your brain if you don’t learn anything. So I give this game 1 star because apple doesn’t let people give 0 stars.
Love it!
by Kat and Ewe on 2019/08/07 12:47
A friend of mine use this to recover her brain after a concussion. She said it really helped. I am using it to increase my memory and speed up my brain processes. I do believe I see a difference. Free version is a brief daily brain workout that wakes up my thinking and gets the gears going.
brain training games shouldn’t come at a cost
by Sam13703 on 2019/08/05 19:25
This app goes down all the wrong roads as meditation apps — part of it is free, but most comes at a price. These apps honestly shouldn’t cost money as they have the potential to help so many people if they didn’t.
Helps me focus but premium
by lllllllllllluuukas on 2019/08/05 18:24
The Lumosity daily workouts help me to focus just I don’t have premium and cos money to get but premium gives you 50+ more games to play but I don’t have it so it gives me Three more games for each Day and The games change every day so I get to try new games every day but I wish I Could get the premium for free but it’s $11.99monthly and $59.99 yearly but it still helps me focus a lot and it makes me focus more and remember things more and do stuff quickly
I’m upset it doesn’t work in other countries.
by mentria on 2019/08/02 01:54
So I was trying to play Lumosity,I was on my friends account and they just started,so I went to log in my account to show someone how it is,but I’m in Brazil. It didn’t work,I thought hmm maybe it’s the wrong password,I tried other passwords and they didn’t work. I logged onto a different account and it still didn’t work,I was like hmm maybe I’ll make another account, (and yes I do have internet) I tried making another account and it STILL didn’t work, so creators if you are reading this please fix this.

Mostly enjoyable games
by Cantatrice on 2019/07/27 21:30
Since I first purchased this app a couple of years ago, recommended by a friend, the company has added games- it was getting boring so I stopped playing for a while. One of the games, Star Search, is very poorly designed and uses dark colors on a dark background. It’s almost impossible to discern the differences unless you have your phone under a very bright light. Not sure it’s worth the hefty annual fee.
The app that’s too smart
by Lonster guy on 2019/07/25 05:17
They can build an app, but it will not run in landscape. Makes you wonder.why cell phone mode is ridiculous. People even make stupid videos in cell phone mode and are silly enough to post their garbage on YouTube. Why on earth is everything in portrait mode? People are too lazy?
They do not care about you
by didnt have to shishtar snap on 2019/07/24 09:08
This entire game is built around finding out how to take your money. What are three games supposed to for you? I’m doing this for my mental health, but Lumosity doesn’t care. They just want purchases, ads, and in-game sales. Pathetic how low companies like this will go for green paper. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

Working memory
by cameronthoma712 on 2019/07/21 15:13
A few years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD with a minor disorder in Working Memory. The doctor said this can go away with practice. I downloaded Lumosity and have been having fun with it. I really like the attention, memory, and reading games. I’ve been homing in on Memory Matrix and Word Bubbles since I have trouble with those areas. I wish there was some games that focused on punctuation in grammar so I could improve in that area as well.
Fun Mental Challenges

ok, could be better
by Squijid on 2019/07/19 16:50
here’s my experience based on me not having premium it’s definitely frustrating that you can’t see your stats or insights if you don’t have premium. i feel like even a simple insight should be free here i wish there was an option to say which areas you want to focus on so that those games would be more likely to appear there are too many emails. like you get an email just for playing a game a lot some categories of games are way more fun than others. the memory games are all so simple and boring, but the attention games (esp the coffee game) are so fun. this esp is unfortunate for me bc i downloaded this app mainly to strengthen my memory, but i just am really not motivated to play the memory games bc they’re so boring i wish there were push notifications for daily reminders to play this part deserves a separate area from the bullet points above: i’ve been using this app for a couple weeks now, and i just played this word game with a space theme that got me so riled up that it made me immediately start writing a review. some of the definitions given are so bad, so vague, or not even the most common definition. and then some of the words chosen are just so left-field that it’s impossible to have known what the words were. what is the purpose of this game? “vocabulary proficiency: the ability to understand and use words.” so it’s not for us to be able to unscramble letters like a puzzle and use our brains that way? is it to strengthen our vocabulary? then why do we get marked down for not knowing a word? shouldn’t we be rewarded for learning a new word? then there’s the time limit. in most word scramble games, there’s no time limit so that you can have time to think and put the letters together. in many word scramble games, you’re given extra points for getting an uncommon word or a long word— you’re not penalized for not knowing an uncommon word or not using all the letters available. this time limit that is SO SHORT, ONLY A COUPLE SECONDS, puts this pressure on me, and with that + the bad definitions + the uncommon words, it’s like... how am i really supposed to complete this level? and when the variety of words is so wide, like one word is “clean” and the next word is “opined,” what am i supposed to do? there’s another word game that has an underwater theme, and it’s way more balanced and fun. but this one? honestly pretty frustrating.

Pay wall
by Stenzilone on 2019/07/18 01:37
Great idea, but I’m sure there’s other ways to get money for a good product. Only 3 games a day doesn’t do anything for you. Doesn’t matter if they are different each day. It seems like the developers care more about money then helping your brain.

Suggestion/Question/Feedback
by Dr_tek on 2019/07/09 19:29
Suggestion: Please make the clock visible from within the app. Question: What do the smiley things mean? E.g., if I chose a frown, would you interpret that as: 1. In pain? 2. Sad? 3. Grouchy? 4. Depressed? 5. Had a bad day? 6. Frustrated? 7. Angry? 8. Something else? If I were in pain, that would affect me differently than if I were frustrated. Feedback: Often as much an influence as the amount of sleep the night before are: 1. Amount of caffeine consumed (or not) 2. Time of day A. I am not a morning person, so am often groggy the first ____ hours after I awake (varies) B. I am usually wiped by late afternoon 3. Exercise-When I run, it gets the blood flowing to the brain for a while afterward

I enjoy playing the free games daily and watching my score increase with each try. I’ve always had a competitive nature so I like that I have opportunities to enhance my scores. It would be nice if the free games reported how you compare to others in your age group.

What a Great App!
by 1583544 on 2019/07/03 22:13
The app is aesthetically pleasing, and the games are great for the whole family. I got Lumosity Premium while it was on sale ($3.25/month) and it was worth every penny! In terms of price, game quality, and aesthetics, I prefer Lumosity to several similar brain games I’ve tried. P.S. - Lumosity, please add a feature that compares game scores to those of other users. For example, “Your score on this game is better than x% of other users.” I can see my own improvement, but I don’t know if I’m actually good at any of the games!

Disgusting
by TakeThisIntoConsideration on 2019/06/29 18:00
If you truly cared about people and wanted them to enhance their capabilities involving their brain and thoughts, then you would not beg for their money whenever you get the chance. You would find ways to make sure that everyone can successfully use your app for their own advancement in improving their own life. However, this is just a “what-if” situation. Sadly, you have chosen to limit people’s opportunities to advance in life. Therefore, this app is absolutely disgusting.

Put in wrong birthday
by Zombumpkin :) on 2019/06/27 06:20
I’m kind of frustrated, because I put in the wrong birth year and when I tried to change it, it would not allow me to, so I went and deleted the app and tried to re-download it to start over and when I opened it up again, it still would not let me change my birth year and I’m a little frustrated because it feels like I cannot use this app over such a silly little mistake. Really wish there was a way to fix this as I’d love to use this app and give a proper review.
Frequent large updates?
by Jimi0100 on 2019/06/26 15:52
Why is it good to be frequently updating for no good reason? Take a few weeks and fix the apparently numerous bugs you claim to fix and do them all at once (unless you're using the customers to QA the product and need to introduce only a few at once?)
Fun, effective learning tool.

Fun games but they don’t record my best scores correctly. For instance I noticed on the racing game I had gone up to 72 mph and the score said my best was 56. Who cares, it’s fun, just saying if you really want to keep score it might not be correct.

Charged $59+/month
by MartiBMD on 2019/06/10 04:54
My husband and I got the app and decided to try Lumosity for $15.99/month. Unbeknownst to us and the lack of double checking ALL of AMEX charges every month (hubby has dementia) until this May bill came in cost us HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. We were charged $59.99/month without our ever agreeing to this exorbitant fee. BE CAREFUL AND REVIEW HOW MUCH YOU BEING CHARGED. I’m extremely unhappy—quite P.O.’d actually about this. I don’t even know how long this went on!!!

Recovery from Brain Injury
by ange16 on 2018/11/14 16:22
My doctor recommended brain games after I was diagnosed with a brain stem injury after getting hit by an 18 wheeler. I have lost 11 points off my IQ (I explained it felt like 10), and then when he should me my current IQ, I was like wow, it wasn’t 10 it was 11! Can’t make that up. He suggested Sudoku, crossword puzzles, etc., and the battery of exercises in his office. However I also see sustained injuries which required two surgeries and make writing very difficult. I feel so blessed to have found this app for reinforcement, redevelopment and further development. I am new here but, I have realized positive results in two weeks. The diagnostic tool that measures improvement, or lack there of, is a great motivator as well. Thank you guys, this is exactly what I needed, and more cost-effective than seeing the neuropsychologist twice a week... the savings in gas, aggravation in traffic, etc. So it paid for itself in a week! So, keep those games coming! My favorites are the Road Race and the math problems!
PREMIUM
by anonynous sender on 2019/01/27 00:39
I don’t write reviews, ever, but I NEED this off my chest. I saw this app on some commercial on a game I play and thought it would be fun. It would help me rewind, make my brain work faster I guess, and, overall, rework my brain with its speed, attention and math, just like it was advertised. I downloaded, set up an account, went through the tests only to discover that Lumosity only worked well if you spent MONEY. You only get 3 games with the free version, can’t do the math portion and it won’t track you as a person. It’s horrible! Do not recommend! I’m only giving this two stars because if you’re not like me, and have money to spend on useless things like this, it might be worth your time. But it’s not worth mine and anyone who is just looking for a nice app to relax playing and learn a bit at the same time. My recommendations? Add a few more aspects to the FREE mode. Here’s one way: have half the games unlocked, the other locked for premium. Example: if you have 50 games, 25 of could be for free, and the 25 have to unlocked by paying. And don’t leave one option out, like you did with the math games. Have at least one. Also, add a tracking mechanism to the free one that is set up individually, and add a more highly functional one to the premium aspect. I don’t care honestly, just make it more than 3 games so I don’t get burnt out in 2 minutes and maybe this game would be worth it, because right now, it’s really not.
Terrible customer support
by Scienristry on 2019/02/08 00:58
I’ve been automatically billed for a monthly Lumosity subscription for close to 9 months, but each time I’ve tried to use the app, I’m locked out of the premium content *that I have been paying for*, and shown a screen giving me the option of signing up for a premium membership. Absolutely frustrating. After several attempts, I was able to get in touch with a Lumosity customer service rep whom I sent screenshots of my billing statements. The rep said I hadn’t been a subscriber according to their system since May 2018, and that Apple, rather than Lumosity, was in charge of handling refunds. Alright, that doesn’t solve the problem of the app not working as it should, but if I can get a refund for the months I haven’t had access to the app (since May 2018), I could be ok with that. I contact apple, and the maximum refund they offer is for a single month’s charge. Oh also, according to Apple, I still had an active subscription, so then the rep James at Lumosity not only failed to fix my issue of the app not unlocking content I had paid for, he gave incorrect information about my subscription status, and furthermore, didn’t seem interested in actually helping me resolve my issue. So ~$12 x 8 down the drain, and neither Lumosity nor Apple will take responsibility, it seems.
Great brain exercise!
by The_Freckled_Fox on 2019/01/03 17:58
I’ve noticed over the years my brain isn’t as quick as it used to be and in looking for games to work my brain I came across Lumosity. I only played the free version a few times before deciding to buy an annual subscription. I play through most of the sets they have and then play some more just for fun. I’ve recently started listening to the mindfulness sessions as well and find them to be calming and helpful as well. I try not to spend a lot of time playing silly games on my phone but I don’t find this one silly at all! Thank you to everyone that makes Lumosity and I look forward to playing new games as they come out! Yes some of the games aren’t as challenging as others and some seem like they could use a tweak or two but I’m sure someone is working on that and I will continue to leave my reviews and suggestions when prompted to do my part! I hope come renewal time I will find another deal because I’m not the type to spend money on a game like this but this was really a Christmas present from my husband who kept telling me to get the full game! Thanks again Lumosity creators!
Mindfulness
by E@t-h3r on 2018/04/24 16:45
I really enjoy the brain-training games. They are challenging and fun. I especially like the mindfulness series. I am at a time in my life where it has been brought to my attention that for my whole adult life, I have been negligent of others and their feelings. Not quite aware of my own other than hurt that someone may cause me, whether the hurt was truly intended or not. These exercises are helping my become more aware with what I’m feeling, both positive and negative and how those feelings can effect how I react towards others. I’m hoping that this will especially benefit my marriage. I am married to a beautiful and kind woman who I have all but completely shut out. I know that It’s because of a perceived “attack” by her on my character (which is largely flawed). She did not attack me, she was merely pointing out how what I was feeling towards her allowed me to mistreat her. I denied it and continued to do so. Six years later I have not changed and she has continued to suffer. My hopes is these exercises will assist me in finding that balanced place between caring for me and also her and our marriage. Thank you.
An exercise for improving your cognitive skills
by Kurien Varghese on 2019/02/16 04:51
I have been using this app for the last 400+ days continuously and I have seen marked improvement in my cognitive index. I am running 71 and started forgetting things, probably an early sign of dementia, which is evident when I play working / short term memory games. Since I started plying the games, I have improved on my memory but it has not reached above 95 percentile so far of my age group. Deficiencies in various cognitive abilities can be noticed earlier through this game and they can be improved through continuous workout. Although I might have played for more than 3 years but Lumosity keeps track of continuous play only meaning if you did not play fir a day, it starts counting from 1 again. There could be situations when one is not able to do the full exercise one day due to illness or traveling which should not make the count to restart. Overall this is the only exercise I do as soon as I get up and before starting my day.
Top game to improve your mind @ any age
by Dawnsglows on 2018/10/12 14:46
You have everything to gain and nothing to lose in using their excellent games over any other brand of brain trainers. Try it, you will be glad you did when you see for yourself the difference it makes in remembering and doing everyday tasks. Like remembering names... yes it helps. Give it three weeks and you will see a change whatever your age. I usually play the FREE games rather than purchasing it. The following is my only reason. The serious problem I have with the game is how you have to buy it through a second party, not directly from Lumosity. If your email is stolen that is linked to the your game, then your game is gone too. It’s happened to me. This is what happens when you use iTunes and I’ve NEVER gotten my money back from iTunes, never. If you could you could get the refund you’d be able to apply it to a new email that is yours. That is something they could change in iTunes by linking your game to two emails and a phone number that are each able to be changed. This happens when you must change your Apple ID as I’ve had to more than once. Presently iTunes can link your library of iBooks to two emails and I believe you may edit your linked emails by adding in a new second email, if one is stolen. Why not do that same safety with your games you buy with iTunes? I’d buy more games, if they did this so I had more security for my purchase.

Click download and just try it once... If it doesn’t strike a chord with you, then remove it and go on about your business. I promise you that Lumosity will leave your mind feeling sharper than it was before. I don’t play games on my phone, honestly I really don’t play games at all, and I never leave reviews for apps... I am a college student and psychology fascinates me. This app is concise, visually appealing, and easy to use! I literally JUST finished my own personal “Fit Test” and felt the urge to give feedback with hopes of helping others. I don't get straight A’s, I have ADHD, and I struggle with self-doubt and a hunger for mental stimulation. This is such a refreshing app that actually made me feel good and proud of myself! Give it a shot if you are even the slightest bit curious. If you think about it, what do you really have to lose from trying?
Tutorials are confusing
by Mary23456789 on 2019/05/12 15:53
I’m new to this. I signed up because I thought it would help my memory. Some of the games do seem to help-I can feel my brain working. But some of the instructions are confusing. For example, in the Feed the Fish game, you are supposed to feed each fish just once by tapping it. But many times the game doesn’t respond on the first tap, so you end up feeding them more than once, or you don’t know how many times you’ve fed them. With the moving leaf game, the instructions are to swipe in the direction the orange leaves are floating. I did so, but then the leaves turned to green. It didn’t say to swipe for the green leaves, so I kept waiting for more orange to appear, only to find I was missing points because suddenly we were supposed to swipe for the green. I’m just doing the free version so I’ll see how it goes. So far I’ve had to replay that day’s games before I really understand how they are played. I may end up deleting the app out of frustration.
Best accidental purchase of my life!
by Shima Azimi on 2019/01/16 22:49
I came across this application on the App store. I originally was looking for an app that offered memory games, so I could improve my memory. I am going through a rough patch in life and it has made me realize how much I’ve neglected self-development. How much I used to love playing games that challenged my brain. I purchased this app by accident, (thought it said $3/month, not a one-time payment of $44!) so I was going to test it out and probably stop using it after a while, as I do with many other things in life : Never complete a task. But this has been by far the best accidental purchase of my life! It offers much more than any other application I’ve ever used, and since I’ve just begun meditation and mindfulness, I was amazed to find they have tutorials for that as well!
Very fun and definitely helps your brain
by lumosity is the best❤️ on 2018/09/18 03:33
This app is very helpful, because not only does it remind me to come on the app, it also reminds me as soon as I open the app that I should exercise as well. This is very helpful because when I get on my phone I cannot just binge watch shows, because it notifies me and I see the app and think, “ There are more games to play I should do that instead!” Although I love this app, I think that there is one flaw. I just wish that you didn’t have to buy premium and it just come with the app initially. I think that the whole point is to see how you are doing and not just play the brain games, which you can only do with premium. Overall, I would definitely get this app on every device I have, in fact I may do that right now!!!😀
iPad use
by HSH Nurse on 2018/02/12 18:14
There are so many things I love about training with Lumosity. However, I have been a member for at least four years and we could really use a break with our iPads. There are many many many games available but just a fraction of those can be used on an iPad. Think about it. The computer is not very functional when it comes to playing Lumosity games. Most Of us will grab our iPads and play a few games during our lunch hour… You would get many more members by making more of these games accessible via iPad or iPhone. I pay a significant amount of money annually for Lumosity and I use it on my iPad only. I give you four stars because of the limited amount of games I can play. I would definitely give you five stars and recommend you to all of my friends if there were more games accessible via iPads and iPhones.
Charged the full year without knowing it.
by quail1234567 on 2019/04/24 13:31
I have liked Lumosity and their 3 free games. I paid for a year one time so I could have unlimited usage. I used to work in the brain training field and would refer clients to this site all the time. I still do when people find out what I did and ask me for suggestions on how to help get over their learning disability. Recently they had a free two week trial that was fun but I realized that I’m in a different stage of life with 3 young kids and I never used it to its advantage. Then they automatically signed me up for another year. I understand that I needed to cancel, but it’s one thing to charge me month by month and another to charge me for the year! I’m really mad as I don’t have $60 to spend on this and I can’t get a refund! I need to pay bills, not play Lumosity for a year. 😡 I feel taken advantage of and do not trust the company anymore. There are other sites for brain training that I will now use and refer people too.
Cognitive Ability
by Shawnee Anne on 2018/02/10 10:05
Upon realizing that my cognitive learning has always been a culprit for my short-term memory, lack of focus, and low comprehension/retaining of information, I looked up ways to help slowly build my cognitive ability and this was one of the first few things I came across. These (what seem so simple) games are challenging different areas of my mind- thoughts, actions, time management, etc. Even after the first day of trying out Lumosity, I felt an instant energy boost after I was done. Slight, but noticeably more awake and alert than before I started. It takes 10minutes at most to do your daily challenge and is great way to get a jump start on your day. I highly recommend if any of my personal details stated above you feel a relation with. 5 stars!!
Very good, with a few glitches.
by FlashZ91 on 2018/02/26 20:38
I'd definitely recommend this app for stronger cognitive ability! I've been using it for a few years now, and I do the brain training exercises daily. They're still working to this day! I'm always finding new ways to get higher scores on the puzzles and unlocking new levels, and I find myself able to use these skills to solve problems outside my training as well. The only reason I'm currently giving the app 4 stars and not 5 is because lately it's been having glitches in the speed related levels, where the visuals can't seem to keep up with the sped of the level. This slows down the reaction of the user, which leads to to a crash in the Highway Hazards game, for example. I still recommend the game to new and existing users when this bug gets fixed! Keep training!
Absolutely recommend
by Sonia Batra on 2017/10/21 09:32
I have to either strongly love or strongly dislike something to leave a review. Lumosity is one to strongly LOVE. I bought the lifetime version and every time I play I am so glad that I did. Lumosity is a very high quality game app- they invest in the right ways towards technology, performance, usability, aesthetics, and more on the app. I am a technology analyst and I cannot say this for many apps. In addition, I truly believe the more that you practice, the better you get and the sharper your mind stays. It's common sense, you don't need a clinical study and paper to come out to know that. I would have my nephews and kids play this over any other game as they grow. It is fun, engaging, as well as formulated very well. Hands down you have done an amazing job.
Awesome app!
by Beara3333 on 2018/12/02 13:53
I was looking for a game to improve my memory, but this app is so much better than I had expected! Not only does it improve memory, but it also improves everything else. It allows you to check your scores so you can see what needs improvement. Even without premium, this app certainly helps with everything! Whether it’s your processing speed, memory, vocabulary ability, flexibility, problem solving, or math (pretty sure I named all of the categories), this app can help you. It even helps with focus and calming down with Mindfulness, which, to my dismay, only gives the first eight lessons for free. That is my one critique. Everything else is wonderful! If you need help with anything brain-wise, be sure to get this app!
Too expensive for a game
by jakkigomez on 2018/09/28 15:59
I've loved Lumosity for a long time but as I study for the GRE, I wanted to test the premium version so I can use the specialized math + language training. I tried switching my subscription from annual to monthly before my trial finished, but they make it difficult to do through the app because you have to go through the iTunes Store app which I deleted long ago, so I figured I'd delete some space then download the app again just to cancel a subscription. But then when I was charged I went back and that's when I realized the trial was only 2 weeks, unlike a month like most subscription trials. That same day I tried emailing them, but it's been days and no response (they said I should hear back within 48 hours). I didn't even request a full refund because I still want to use it for the next month until I take the GRE, but they couldn't even do that much. So now I'm stuck with a $60+ subscription for a game that's been free to me for years.
Good brain training
by Kimberly-O on 2018/11/06 13:01
I bought a one year subscription with the hopes this would help my brain after getting a concussion Aug. 2017. After finally getting in to see a neurologist, it turns out my brain fog was from Serotonin Syndrome (taking 3 similar functioning meds for 3 different reasons). I'm off all 3 and have my brain back. I'm still using Lumosity because I enjoy most of the challenges. Oddly, while I love math, those games stress me out the most. One thing that REALLY stresses me is the final message indicating how many days in a row I've trained. I'd like to be able to turn it off. It's crazy how devastated I was when I broke the first streak of 40+ days. Technically I had started the training before midnight. (I know, there are bigger problems in the world...)
Excellently! Superb!!!
by T.B.I. TY on 2018/08/18 19:48
At first I had thought 2 things. 1. There's no way playing games will help my mind. And 2. I figured this would be something really difficult! But it really isn't at all the games are very quick and easy to catch on to. Not difficult at all. And it doesn't make you super smart/ but I personally feel like it helps your mind with how fast you react to problems and challenges! So luminosity I'm very pleased and I have to admit even though this is meant to be working your mind- and brain this is actually a lot of fun; and I really do enjoy playing it, as well as I enjoy seeing my scores keep getting higher! It makes you feel good about yourself❗️😃 So once more; I am 100% ++ Satisfied with, this app!!! 😃 😊 👍🏻

by SAHrecovery on 2017/12/09 14:59
Overall I love Lumosity games. It has helped with my focus, processing speed, math calculations, memory, mental agility and flexibility. I gave it four stars instead of five because the vocabulary range of the word games is rather limited. Sometimes it won’t accept valid words and the words in the language activities get repetitive so it stops being as challenging. Also, I hate the bowling game as I either don’t understand it or I stink at it. You do not have to pay $60 a year. Wait until a holiday and the price will drop. I paid $38 a by purchasing it on Black Friday. The desktop version has more games that are not included in the mobile version. I like to play in both mediums. The desktop version also gives you more information about your progress.
NOTHING IS FREE
by FuzzyDogLover on 2018/03/29 19:11
Ok, so overall this is a really good game way better than elevate because the games here are ACTUALLY FUN. The only thing is that the only three first games are free, then everything else is premium. Which is a bummer because it’s a really nice app. I would defyrecomendd getting this app if you are willing to pay for the premium or if you just wanna play the same three games over and over again. If not elevate is a woderful app is mostly FREE. To the developers, please make more games free because i personally think it’s not worth paying for so me games that another app has that are free. Just some feedback. Hope you take it in a good way and try to fix this other than that the app is AMAZING!! Love it❤️❤️ Ps. I am giving this app four stars because it’s excellent except for the in app purchases.

I don’t write many reviews but I was so annoyed that I thought I would. I downloaded the app recently after I saw a commercial. I didn’t mind using the free app as I was learning more about the program because I wasn’t ready to spend money on the Premium app if I didn’t think I would use the app. So tonight I was excited to see that Lumosity was offering a 25% discount because they were being featured in the App Store. It peaked my interest and I considered going ahead and paying the annual fee. Then I realized that they raised their prices by about 25% and then offered the discount. That’s just rude. I just downloaded this app last week and looked at the Premium price so I know how much it was before the “discount”. Now I’m just so annoyed at the Lumosity’s business practice that I’m not sure I even want to continue using the free service. It’s a shame that people are greedy, it seems like a fun and helpful app.
Completely considered every aspects
by MaryamGrvy on 2018/08/02 01:33
I really like this app, because it has many interesting games to develop all the aspects of the brain ability, its evaluation is also pretty good and gives you insight about how you are progressing so it acts like a kind of incentive to go forward! Another aspect that I really like was the mindfulness training which is a great guid toward mindfulness! In addition, it gives you suggestions to improve your technique by presenting stronger players’ techniques! Finally, this app is improving very fast and every time it gets more and more compatible to boost the brain and offering cooler and more diverse games! There are lots of other cool things about this app that I love, But I believe that it is an expensive app!
Lumosity
by Tueirkelheadstone on 2018/08/05 19:53
Always liked these exercises. I used to play this every day on my lunch break when I worked. As I age I notice some things are slowing down. Sodoku wakes me up. I'm hoping Lumosity will sharpen me up. I agree with flash, the glitches still prevail. I've been on for a month now and the only thing that's an issue for me is that all these games want to go faster and faster, especially as you gain a new level. At my age, 75, faster's not happening. I tend to become frustrated as a result and close the iPad, but I keep trying. My one wish would be a way to slow down a little on some of the games. I still play every day and I do look forward to the challenge🙂
Struggles and lots of help
by DOGLOVER83106 on 2018/10/13 18:08
I like the app but the was a few problems with it!! With someone who has ADD (like me), I started struggling with my breath only because I have asthma! I had to constantly pause just to cough and get water! But on the other hand it is really fun. I can’t get all of the stuff I want to work on the most but I’m fine with it. I like that you can set up what days you want to practice the most on and what time you want to do it. I think my 6 year old brother would love this app because he has ADHD and he has the 3 kind witch he can’t help what he is doing. Now back to the app, I don’t get the whole test at the beginning I mean I know it is seeing what your plans are but it makes no sense!! 🤨 This app is very useful for me and everyone who is using the app.
Buyers remorse, buyer beware
by Buffer99 on 2018/09/22 23:54
Bought this app, paid for a full year subscription. I had been running for a while on the free version and thought I should support it. The buyers remorse came very quickly. When I got the paid version I came to the realization almost immediately that it is far better off sticking with the unpaid version. Games can become ridiculously hard at higher levels. Some of the games are very nearly nonsensical. There is one called fuse clues which involves inserting numbers into a numerical sequence. When you get to a higher level you get, for example, two clues out of nine spaces and there is absolutely no possible way to determine the sequence. It becomes frustrating very quickly. There is very little sense of accomplishment and the frustration detracts from what should be a positive, learning experience. When you first get the app, it can be fun. But if you stick with it, and rise in levels on the various games, getting to the higher levels Will likely result in hitting a wall and not being able to progress any further. That is where I'm at. Hence the buyers remorse comment. Also, just an observation. This is at least the third time I've written a review. They keep getting taken down. At least that's what seems to be happening.
I NOTICE A DIFFERENCE
by Lynks414 on 2018/02/10 19:51
I try to utilize Lumosity everyday at the beginning of my day, unless interference of other business. The difference I have noticed is in my memory. I don’t notice as many lapses as before I started using Lumosity. I am a 56 year old female, with a mother who is 74 and now is beginning to experience dementia so I am trying to be proactive and do everything to either delay the possibility of dementia or maybe even prevent it. I like how it is set up to review your statistics and the improvements it has shown me since the beginning. I can’t afford to do the premium. So I think you should allow your customers to see how they have improved since the beginning of using Lumosity!
I LOVE THIS APP!!!
by VekL12 on 2018/08/10 12:10
I’m not sure if it’s true that this could contribute to improving cognitive thinking but I do believe that it does something to my mind regarding understanding mechanics a little more, and I suppose that can lead into other areas of thinking. I guess the ONLY issue I have with this app is the fact that if you don’t purchase any of the packages, then you will experience the play of a new challenge every day instead of having the option of attempting to master certain ones. Other than that, so far the ones I’ve played have been challenging in their own unique way. I love this app and I’d especially recommend giving this to your kids.
Twinkling Fun!!
by Miko is Lumosity love on 2017/09/29 18:29
This game has room for improvement but for the most part it is amazing! I am an 12 year old girl who's father showed me this game. I feel that the best game is "Highway Hazards." It is fun to have the Adrenaline rush from that small part. My family has this app and it has been fun to learn all the games. It is has a very easy concept, you just have to play the game for a little bit of time to figure it out but I have realized this game has a trick to it that you can easily figure out! Unfortunately, you have to be a certain age to have this game and it decided I was not old enough but o wanted it so I decided to add a couple years. This game should be for all ages there is nothing wrong with training your brain at a young age so why not!
Real skeptical
by Any Direction on 2019/02/24 23:59
Okay, so I’m jut playing the trial version and some of the games are fun and cute, but I want to know why this app thinks it’s any better for my brain than the hundreds of other puzzles game out there. Those other puzzle games don’t shame me by comparing me to other people and are free. Maybe luminosity is a bit more rounded in the type of games it has to offer, but the truth is I just want to keep playing the same game over and over which doesn’t make me improve as a person it just makes me a person who’s good at playing a handful of phone games, which I can accomplish by downloading literally any other free app. Sure the daily recommended games make me play outside my comfort zone, but also it makes me mad when I get a game I don’t like. So I will download a bunch of free apps and be just as smart and maybe a little less grumpy.
Amazing App
by lildiamond_11 on 2018/05/27 19:35
I am addicted to this app! I think it surpasses all the other “brain training” apps by miles! I do have subscriptions to Luminosity as well as Elevate. But Peak is the only app that has kept my attention. It has a great assortment of games to train things like memory, mental agility, focus, problem solving, emotion, coordination, and my personal favorite language. Peak’s games are diversified and so much fun to play. I can spend hours training. I love playing the different challenges to raise my peak brain score! If iTunes would let me I'd give them 10 stars!! If you're looking into purchasing a brain training app this is definitely the one to get! Pro is worthy every penny!!!!
So helpful
by Rainbow Artist soccer player on 2018/09/20 01:39
Ever since I downloaded this app my life has been so relaxing, peaceful, and easy. I’ve been doing better with not getting distracted in school because of all the practicing I have been doing on this app, and it’s not boring sometimes when people download a brain app the think that uhhh this is going to be boring but this app is not like that. There is fun games to help to do whatever you need help with. I do want the premium version to not cost any money. Because I love this game so much that I don’t want the premium version to cost a lot. But so far nothing is wrong with the app there’s even meditation. So I hope you like the app as much as I do.😁😉
Lumosity is so cool!
by Tpr bee on 2018/10/28 19:09
Lumosity is so cool! I remember seeing commercials on tv about the app when it first came out. That has been a few years. However, my boyfriend bought the year subscription for me this past Christmas and I truly am grateful he did! I love the fun games and really feel my mind has improved thanks to the weekly math and vocabulary training. What I also find extremely beneficial are the meditation practices and rhythm games they recently introduced on the paid version. Honestly, I’m glad they did because I didn’t realize how much I was lacking in those areas of my life before trying them out. Lumosity has saved my brain!!
Pretty great but
by Emma Orgill on 2018/04/26 01:09
It’s a great app to work your brain, it’s pretty awesome. I like playing the many different games it has, some are actually fun but the games I like are the ones u need to unlock with the premium. It randomly selects games for u that u can play for free but, I also want to play the games I find fun. And of COURSE U HAVE TO BUY THEM!!! It’s so ANNOYING how u have to buy things in apps I hate it and for all those who don’t want to pay the premium price can probably agree! It’s a game to train and help your brain let us play the games we want not the games u pick for us! Which are the only ones u can play for that day! It’s so annoying!!
Love it but...
by SaraBearry on 2017/12/31 04:01
New* Since I stopped paying for it, lots of things have changed, I wish there was insight as to how to improve your skill in an area. For example, when doing a memory game how can you get better at remembering. Or a math game, how do you get better at quickly solving, etc. repetition doesn’t seem to be enough I love the games, especially the pinball game. But it seems there are only 5 or 6 games with the mobile version. There are a lot more games on the online version. Also, my mobile app doesn't seem to sync with the online version. I will literally be playing a game on the mobile version and get a training alert from the online version on my phone.
Inexpensive and fun
by theresia022680 on 2019/03/11 00:34
Unlike another reviewer I didn’t expect Lumosity to rework my brain, improve attention and math, for FREE. Oddly enough that reviewer thought those changes would be great if free but useless if not free. Lumosity is $5 or less a month depending on your plan. I go for months without playing and then play several workouts a day for months. Since it is inexpensive, I don’t have to use it all the time to get my money’s worth. And, because new games appear regularly, I can play the ones I love while trying out new ones. I don’t know whether my brain has reworked or not, or whether my attention has improved. I know that this is part of my routine most of the time and I enjoy it.
Meh...Too expensive, not enough insight, doesn’t work right
by Bebe21646646 on 2018/10/11 15:24
I like the three free games a day. The problem is I play my three games and fifteen minutes later I go back to play one I enjoyed and it’s gone! Fifteen minutes! It’s super annoying. I guess it might work out for you if it’s replaced by another game you like but it never is. I should be able to play that game all day before it disappears, right? This has happened twice. I would buy a subscription but I think it’s too expensive especially since I can’t trust them to keep their three games a day straight. Plus, the free version offers you basically no insight into your brain. It looks just like a cute money maker to me. I may keep it awhile but it also takes up a lot of space on my phone for what little I get.
Great for Brain Sharpening!
by tluneau on 2018/08/25 01:54
I recommend Lumosity for those who are looking for an app to sharpen skills from fine motor skills to relaxation techniques. The games cover many subjects, from mathematics to counseling. Since it is an app, it’s available anytime, so one can train whenever it’s convenient. Of course, the more one trains, the better one becomes at the various games. My own weakest area is math, and I tend to avoid games in that group. But the app gently moves me back in that direction so I’m still getting math training—thank goodness! All in all, this is a great app, and I highly recommend it. I can’t make it through my day without it!
Great App
by Bigfact5 on 2019/02/08 13:03
I really enjoy using this app every morning when I wake up. It’s helps me get my brain started and gives me a better idea of what cognitive skills to work on. I’m only using the free version and have already noticed my memory has gotten stronger and problem solving has improved. It also has a section for mindfulness and meditation. So since I recently learned we have seven chakras, I’ve been using this app to fully complete my mental journey. Thank you for creating this app. I’ve recommended it to anyone who has issues with memory, math or just other different cognitive skills.
Weird Questions
by Ssfdsdfcdbbxdjjgf on 2019/02/16 12:34
I saw this game in an ad and thought it would be fun to try. I absolutely love brain games and puzzles. However, when I downloaded it, it asked me to create an account. So I thought “ok sure, they don’t really seem like the type that steals your information”. Once I gave it my email, it asked for my birthdate. This seemed a little weird, but I thought I might just want to see if you’re old enough for some of the puzzles. So I put that in too. But then it kept asking. My gender? My education? Why does it even need that stuff? I don’t know if this app is actually stealing your personal information or not, but those questions seem a little sketchy. I deleted the app, but if you could tell me why you ask those questions and what you do with the info, I might be more inclined to redownload. (Is that a word?) Thank you for reading.
Don’t fall for it
by Naelee on 2018/02/16 06:02
First, I wasn’t really looking for this app, I was looking for a math app to help with tutoring in statistics and this was recommended. I gave it a try but couldn’t get access to anything to really see if the app was worth it. The subscription says $4/month and so I figured I’d try it. It charged me 50 bucks, not once but twice. I figured I’d try it for a minute see if it’s actually worth that. Not even close!! There a thousands of free games and apps that can help with memory and strategy games, why even bother with this? I had the “subscription” for about 3 hours when I asked for a refund. That’s when I found out they charged me twice. They refunded me once and now have blocked my access to login and will not respond to any correspondences about refunding me for BOTH charges. $100 for 3 hours of useless “games” I think not!!!!!
Are you kidding me?
by 💫alpaca.lord🌟 on 2018/10/28 17:21
Greetings, developers. I’m here to say that this app is a complete and absolute scam, and the only thing I like about this app is the mindfulness program. Or, at least, the free one. The only way to make this app fully functional and fun is to pay. Another thing, when you first look at the app, it barely says anything about you having to pay money. When I got everything set up, I was really excited, in hopes of a relaxing yet challenging experience. But what did I find? “Unless you have premium, you only have three games to play a day! Oh, and to add on to that, you can’t see your scores either! Have a fun fricking time!” Are you kidding me? This app is absolute crap and unless this issue improves, I’m deleting it. For all who are thinking about downloading this app (and you don’t want to pay) I highly suggest that you don’t.
Challenges
by Polish56 on 2017/09/26 09:04
I like playing the games, sometimes I play the same ones, I like the redirection or suggestions. I get advice which is helpful. It's challenging, fun, and strategic. Wish there were more different games to play more frequent then what is offered. Be nice to have more explanations of the compare chart which I don't always understand, more memory games, and any spatial type games? Keep up with creating new games, explanations so others may understand how to improve or what they may be doing wrong. Sometimes too repetitious but it's still good to play again.
Do NOT pay for this
by Backstreet96 on 2019/05/29 14:06
Biggest mistake. I decided to pay the $40 dollars to get the premium account because I am studying for the LSAT and wanted to sharpen my skills. While you set up it sets payment to automatic renewal saying there’s an option to turn it off. Theoretically, there is. However, the program makes it impossible to access it. When you pay for it, it asks you to give an email, but NOT to make a password. When you try to log in to turn off the auto renewal it asks for a password and an email. Since you cannot provide a password. It won’t let you in. I’ve tried the “I forgot my password” option to try to get in. It then sends you a link, that takes you to a safari page with another link that automatically signs you in back in the app. No chance of switching auto renewal here. In the instructions on the app, it says you can change the automatic renewal in the iTunes Store. FALSE! First, the iTunes Store only sells music, not apps. Second, the App Store (which is probably what it means) allows no such option. I must now sit and wait for the day when the year mark comes so I can cancel my card and avoid the charge. THIS IS A SCAM!!! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE IT ENOUGH!!! DO NOT PAY FOR THIS!!!
Description in App Store is misleading
by Sarasuzanne on 2019/05/01 14:10
I downloaded this app because I enjoy brain teasers and I found the interphase very user friendly, however, had I known that only 3 games would be available in the free version per day, and that you’d have to pay $12 a month to access really all of the other games, I would have never downloaded. 3 games only is not enough for a person to judge if they enjoy this app enough to consider purchasing... and the cost is probably higher than most people are willing to pay with so many other options out there. Description should give more on what is contained in the free version, or create a completely free version and a “pro version” that would disclose upfront the cost. I’ve deleted and looked for another.
Luminosity the train game
by Trachoe44 on 2017/10/06 14:55
I know the brain should be able to process the motion of the trains coming out of the tunnel but if I've been having trouble with the amount of trains coming out the game should realize this and slow it down The memory game does it by backing up to a lower tile board but not the trains they seem to come out faster and I just can't keep up with switching the tracks in time for me to get the trains to the designated stations I enjoy the game but that one game frustrates me so bad. No I haven't purchased the premium package but it would be nice if you could chose which game you wanted to play cause I hate the trains Thank you for your time. Michael

I was introduced to Lumosity during my recovery and try to use it everyday. I givy much of my cognitive recovery’s credit to Lumosity. Love this app! My mind feels strengthened every time I play. I just wish they would use ads to monetize the app so that you don’t have to pay (as much) for the premium service. I don’t pay for premium but would love the benefits for a better price.
I love it, but...

I never intended on buying a year long subscription to this app and now I’m out $63 on something I don’t want. There’s no way to make a claim to get my money back either. It charged me at 12am on the last day so it wasn’t even a full trial for me to have a chance to cancel.

Awesome

I don’t get to play the games that I want all the time and some of the games are absolute trash and I hate them, but they have some good content and their games r Dina and helpful. I wish they would ask what skills I need to practice because some of the stuff is too easy I also with that they asked what games are my favorite so I could pick. But yeah overall lumosity is fun

I wish there was some games that focused on punctuation in grammar so I could improve in that area as well.

ok, could be better
by Squijid on 2019/07/19 16:50
here’s my experience based on me not having premium it’s definitely frustrating that you can’t see your stats or insights if you don’t have premium. i feel like even a simple insight should be free here i wish there was an option to say which areas you want to focus on so that those games would be more likely to appear there are too many emails. like you get an email just for playing a game a lot some categories of games are way more fun than others. the memory games are all so simple and boring, but the attention games (esp the coffee game) are so fun. this esp is unfortunate for me bc i downloaded this app mainly to strengthen my memory, but i just am really not motivated to play the memory games bc they’re so boring i wish there were push notifications for daily reminders to play this part deserves a separate area from the bullet points above: i’ve been using this app for a couple weeks now, and i just played this word game with a space theme that got me so riled up that it made me immediately start writing a review. some of the definitions given are so bad, so vague, or not even the most common definition. and then some of the words chosen are just so left-field that it’s impossible to have known what the words were. what is the purpose of this game?

It seems like the developers care more about money then helping your brain.

by Dr_tek on 2019/07/09 19:29
Suggestion: Please make the clock visible from within the app.

For example, “Your score on this game is better than x% of other users.” I can see my own improvement, but I don’t know if I’m actually good at any of the games!

by TakeThisIntoConsideration on 2019/06/29 18:00
If you truly cared about people and wanted them to enhance their capabilities involving their brain and thoughts, then you would not beg for their money whenever you get the chance. You would find ways to make sure that everyone can successfully use your app for their own advancement in improving their own life. However, this is just a “what-if” situation. Sadly, you have chosen to limit people’s opportunities to advance in life. Therefore, this app is absolutely disgusting.

Take a few weeks and fix the apparently numerous bugs you claim to fix and do them all at once (unless you're using the customers to QA the product and need to introduce only a few at once?)

by guinea_pig_girl009 on 2019/06/10 19:06
I love this app! They have so many games that help train and challenge your brain. The only thing I would change is for the non-premium users, could they have a 5-piece workout as well?
Awesome game

Even my 12yr old and 5yr old enjoy these games, they are fun for the whole family!
I DOUBLE🐶DARE YOU
by rvdmvc on 2018/11/29 17:06
Click download and just try it once...
Stroke survivor Retraining brain
by SAHrecovery on 2017/12/09 14:59
Overall I love Lumosity games.
I am giving this app four stars because it’s excellent except for the in app purchases.

by Caraboo11 on 2019/01/21 07:31
I don’t write many reviews but I was so annoyed that I thought I would.
So helpful

Michael
