Life Is Easier
by omgfine on 2020/08/13 16:49
I can be a very disorganized person and a procrastinator. What I love about Todoist is that adding tasks is so easy, and seeing them completed is so satisfying. I can add a task using my voice to text, so for someone as lazy as I am that’s perfect. And then watching them disappear as I click them when they’re complete just inspires me to do the whole list. There’s nothing like seeing that lady riding the bike to let me know that I don’t have to do anything else for the day. I really like Todoist a lot.
Lifechanger!!!!
by Victor Brian C on 2020/08/12 18:20
I’m ADHD and struggle to keep all my ideas and physical to do lists without losing them. This app tremendously helps me, using it along side with Apple’s “hey Siri” time reminders to complete my tasks... it’s helped keep me disciplined and motivated to complete my life’s goals. Definitely upgrading to the premium version. Had the free version for over 6 months . 10 /10 stars if that was a thing !!! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!! MASSIVE PRODUCTIVITY!!!!
The Best

And the winner is...
by Justin Zwick on 2020/08/10 23:29
Like a lot of you that may end up reading this review, I've been through a number of to-do list applications. I've landed on todoist for the following reasons: cross platform (I use Windows and Linux computers, Android and iPhone cells, and an ipad, works everywhere), clean & intuitive UI, simple CSV structure for importing lists, and it's very extensible; integrations capable through zapier and integromat as well as an open API. As a developer and marketer often taking on the role of project manager, I template all sorts of tasks and integration is critical, todoist fits the bill on all fronts.
Helps to organize life and amazing support

Until the app was edited to make it harder to re-rank list items. How does that happen? Idiots.
My Second Brain
by ZZZZZZZZZZZ29182873839/ on 2020/08/07 18:17
I would not be nearly as efficient without todosit. This app is a life changer!
Awesome app
by Asdelu on 2020/08/05 15:09
It’d be awesome if keeping tasks for future reference to keep them from showing up as overdue tasks. Otherwise, this has helped me be much more productive! Great app.
So far I am loving it!
by Mountain Baby on 2020/08/04 23:27
I compared todoist to things and ended up buying things and a few days later regretted it. My husband uses todoist and showed me so many amazing features that things just doesn’t have. I.e. sub tasks and subtasks of sub tasks and so on… Been playing with it all afternoon and getting up to speed. Then, just discovered that the icon color can be changed I decided I needed to write a review!
Great app
by ssbiggs on 2020/08/03 00:59
Very well thought out app. Really covers all the bases. Now if I can just train myself to use it all the time. Needs a shock collar I can wear, as an upgrade ;)
Klotron Standard
by jarodmoves on 2020/08/02 15:55
For thirty years I have used or looked at To-Do list programs to augment my time management. ToDoist is almost perfect. If you are a Windows user, I know of no better program to use. I give it a 95. When they allow Task to be moved between Projects I will give it a near perfect score.
Very intuitive
by Mann arbor on 2020/08/02 14:20
I find this much easier to use than my prior to do list app! No longer need to use paper to supplement. Working my list everyday.
The only app where premium is worth it
by taylorecle on 2020/08/01 20:08
The free version is good, but the premium features make this app fantastic. I use it daily to make sure I keep on top of things, and keep myself organized. Best to do list app I’ve ever used.
Constant source of new frustrations
by NotAnApplePerson on 2020/08/01 15:12
I have been using this app for years, and somehow these morons are constantly changing something that fundamentally breaks my workflow.... like sync just silently does nothing, or dragging subtasks now pops up a cute context menu with no obvious way to reparent the task (the previous behavior). I'm now using a post-it note to make a grocery list because I'm too frustrated trying to build one with this stupid app. Save yourself a headache later. USE SOMETHING ELSE.
Unreliable
by Mr.Haboubi1988 on 2020/07/31 10:11
Tasks disappearing randomly. Really disappointed. Edit: it happens only with iOS version. Idk why it doesn't show all tasks! PC app however shows all tasks.
Best app ever
by Tweety Thea on 2020/07/31 04:09
This is how you can keep urself organized and track progress...it’s just simply amazing. Keep up!
Not user friendly and terrible tutorials
by brs746532125xxxg on 2020/07/31 00:24
I deleted the app after 4 days. There has to be something better than this out there. I tried to get it to work, refused to upgrade the app until I could get it to work as I understood it would. I gave up in frustration. I don’t have hours to spend on it daily. Pen and paper is more user friendly than this is.
Have to make an account
by Quagdarr on 2020/07/30 15:49
For a to do list...you must make an account, yes for a simple reminder list they want access to your contacts in the whole smash just so you can write down tasks you want to achieve. this type of app is not for all that.
No outlook integration in Mac
by mannyzen on 2020/07/29 20:38
The app does not have outlook integration on Mac. Makes it useless for work based todo management.
2Years in!
by T.D. Mann on 2020/07/29 11:11
Along with post-it note hoarding, couldn’t be accountable without this app!
Best app there is, one simple improvement would make it epic
by Matt72737383 on 2020/07/29 08:37
The app should be able to sort automatically by date, priority etc. There’s no reason for a task labeled as “today” to go to the bottom of the list when adding if I normally sort by date.
Premium features...
by augie2004 on 2020/07/27 23:42
I wish I could remind myself with notifications without needing premium.
Exceptional
by b00kworm21 on 2020/07/27 01:33
First off I am reviewing premium. I quarrel with myself who I love the most. Things or Todoist. At the end of the day they are both excellent and I’m choosing Todoist as my daily use app because they excel at making a beautiful app worthy of praise. It’s bells. It’s whistles. It’s not just Karma it’s fun to get through my todos here. If you are a perfectionist or not, it can help get you to do more and get things done. Useablility is ingenious on mobile or desktop. You can essentially throw anything at it and really dig deeper and ultimately get where you want to go.
Awesome!
by RS@78 on 2020/07/26 22:21
I love the features in this app. One of the few apps where one has recurring list option. Very useful app for tracking daily recurring checklist. Features are pretty intuitive, so a very convenient app to use.
AMAZING. LIFE SAVER. I AM NOW AN UNSTOPPABLE PRODUCTIVE MONSTER
by cup1993 on 2020/07/26 04:19
I have tried all of the best project management apps out there.. Trello, MeisterTask, you name it. I have also tried a fair share of “To do” apps such as GTasks, Summit, etc. Now, there’s nothing wrong with these other apps necessarily. I still use a few of them for other purposes. But I was looking for the ULTIMATE app that combines my project management needs as well as my basic to do list needs. I work on quite a few projects at a time so I was looking for something very specific. I was a bit skeptical at first because I was afraid that ToDoist would be too simple and I like really detailed, complicated apps (with options for subfolders, due dates, notes etc) However, my concerns quickly disappeared once I started using this app. It has a very simple user face so it’s really not difficult to use or navigate through. BUT it’s not too simple. It offers due dates, folders, subtasks, filters, etc. This is what I need in my life. For instance, I LOVE the hashtag feature so that whenever I type in #growth the task immediately goes into my Growth folder. Genius. This app has made it ridiculously easy to input a task, the due date, the project it goes in, subtasks and the priority level in the least amount of time possible (compared to other apps I’ve used. This is because ToDoist has shortcuts which I love like the hashtag feature). The only critique I have is that it doesn’t have the option for a recurring task. Oh man, if it had that I think the app might be perfect. For instance, if I want to clean my room every Saturday, I wish I was able to create a recurring task so I don’t have to input that task every Saturday. But that’s pretty much the only critique I have and the benefits definitely outweigh this con. Worth every penny. Highly recommend. Update: I’ve been using this app for almost a year now and still absolutely love it. Also, I’m not sure if they recently included it or I didn’t notice it before, but they have a feature for repeated tasks which helped immensely. As I said in the original post, this app is amazing (:
Excellent tool
by butler didit on 2020/07/25 18:43
Todoist is my tool for tracking tasks and task completion. With a little familiarization is easy to use in several interfaces. Good product.
Many steps backward from Wunderlist
by hts1234 on 2020/07/25 12:13
Nobody who used Wunderlist can like this. It lacks the simple feature of recalling a prior item. It is far more complex than a simple list app should be. This is an example of large corporate ruining a good thing. I have wrestled with this wreck for weeks. Moving on.
Not enough features!
by aventeur on 2020/07/23 21:45
Couldn’t find what I needed to get done. Way too many features, overly complicated. But I suppose some people like that.
Betrayed
by MrU Toledo on 2020/07/22 17:06
Listed under free app but to make it functional above the pathetic Apple Reminders app cost minimum of $35.00. I’m a retired professional and still try to maintain an organized lifestyle. I don’t mind paying a reasonable fee but 35/yr is excessive.
Notification settings needs improvement
by 18SaskatchewanCA on 2020/07/22 05:07
Works great; nice for organizing tasks according to project. I don’t like how the notifications work. It would be much nicer if a notification popped up on the lock screen when task was due.
Best App I Have
by Laowai Chinese on 2020/07/20 02:45
This is the first time I’ve taken the initiative to go back to the App Store, find an app I already have, and write a review about it! It’s very rare that I use software and can’t really think of anything I’d like to improve about it. But Todoist is in that category. What I love: 1) No subscription necessary! I’m still using the free version and it’s perfectly adequate for what I need. 2) Shared projects. For example, my wife and I have a project called “shopping list“ which either of us can add items to, and the other will see it. Then whoever needs to purchase it can check it off as “complete.” 3) Natural language processing for dates. I simply write “wash bikes every three months” and it knows how to schedule that. 4) Siri integration. I have various Shortcuts set up so if I’m riding my bike and I suddenly think of some thing I need to buy, I can just say to Siri while riding my bike, “New Shopping item,” or whatever I want the magic phrase to be, and it goes right into the appropriate project. That’s enough for now. There are many more wonderful features, but who wants to read a novel-length review?
Best To Do app!
by veebee7 on 2020/07/19 17:48
I’d give this app 10 stars if I could, 5 stars aren’t enough. The longer I use it, the more I like it. Really don’t know how I’d efficiently function without it at this point. I doing buy many apps but this one is worth every penny. I've tried MANY list and productivity apps and this one is the best I've found. The Apple watch functionality is a bonus. While sitting at a stoplight or walking around the grocery store, a couple if taps on the watch, speak the new item to add, and there it is in a list. No more fumbling for my phone or a pen or forgetting what I wanted to note before I can log it. Plus! I'm wearing my To Do list on my wrist and can view and check off items from there as I go. Lots of other great features as well. Extremely happy with it!
Reliable smart easy to use app
by Psych Researcher on 2020/07/19 13:28
I have used this app for years. Tried others as i love organizing tools. I have always come back to todoist.
I have tried them ALL... This is EXCEPTIONAL!
by lessiejane on 2020/07/17 23:18
Update: still 5 stars with many improvements throughout the years. -July 2020 my earlier review below is from 2019 Superior to it’s competitors for a long shot for me.. I think Notes (the all apple one is comparable) but I only use PCs. Trello and Evernote pale in comparison. Support is A++ .. Have been using religiously since my purchase late Dec. 2018 and it has kept me from losing my mind!! I am an entrepreneur and run a small but lucrative business and forgetting to do something as simple as ‘call x back’ or leaving a disclaimer out of an advertisement could cost big bucks. This is addictive once you learn all of the commands / controls. I can’t live without it really. Love how you can categorize things on multiple tiers, importance, color code.. all with intuitive commands. I wish they had an adaption for the iPad with Apple Pencil so I could hand write some of my to-dos (helps with memory) and various dark themes instead of just one. One price across all devices and syncs to Google and Outlook calendars. A dream for entrepreneurs. Wish I had this when I was back in school!
Intentional productivity is now the norm!
by Alex_F_KY on 2020/07/17 12:31
I have been using Todoist for several years now. I thought enough of it, that after the 1st year I purchased a business subscription for the work team with which I interact. Now I can asynchronously keep in touch and up to date with where they are on assigned tasks and projects. Making Todoist part of my flow has brought clarity, productivity, and many fewer occasions when I discover that I failed to meet a deadline or dropped the ball on an item that needed my attention. Todoist = Zen Thank you to the Todoist team for keeping the product improving across all platforms. I use it on iPhone, iPad, Windows desktop, and on the Web. The same experience and the same projects & tasks everywhere effortlessly.
Best app ever

I’ve used Todoist for 6 years and still haven’t found anything better to organize my life
Incredible and FREE!
by ToyaShon on 2020/07/15 04:15
I have long been searching for an app that will allow me to set recurring tasks that I don’t have to rewrite each day. It can be time consuming and annoying. Most of the apps I saw with this feature required a monthly subscription. Took a while but I finally found it (thanks Reddit). Anyway, I’m very happy and will be telling people about it
Simple, clean, effective; needs custom reminder
by Baller99100 on 2020/07/14 17:53
Very simple and effective task manager. However, there is one slight additional feature I wish it had. I wish I could have custom dates/reminders (I.e. you could set the date to twice every two days or 3 times everyday).
Most Used App
by Etisdude on 2020/07/14 00:38
ToDoist is my most used app. I’ve used it for years, and I rely on it to keep my life organized. I give it a 9.8/10.
Premium should be much cheaper
by RustanL on 2020/07/14 00:28
$4 / month ? It should be $4 / year.
LIFESAVER
by CGATX29 on 2020/07/13 18:28
I’m in nursing school and work part-time. I absolutely couldn’t do it without this app and it’s two-way integration with Gcal. Download it and check out the reddit!
Poor Usability
by baroonis on 2020/07/12 14:09
Why would you make one of the key interactions, moving a task within the list, the most complicated and confusing thing to do?
Great app
by isumitshrestha on 2020/07/12 12:40
Very user friendly app .loved it !!

Too expensive
by momsfun7 on 2020/07/09 14:45
The free part is great but the upgrade to use the other parts of the app cost too much per year.
A great application that is continuously improved
by ChetMG on 2020/07/09 10:00
I’ve experimented with numerous to-do and productivity apps, but i invariably rely on ToDoist. It provides flexible labeling and filtering, intuitive and varied task views, and unusual features like Google calendar integration, which lets you rapidly reschedule tasks via drag-and-drop. I’m a Premium user, and find it well worth the price.
How it functions to getting paid

Trying to figure out how the app really focuses on doing things in my life and actually effecting the real world to-do list.
Amazing app and company
by Phil Dallas on 2020/07/07 15:38
I don’t write app reviews-typically, never. But I just love this company and app so much. Over the years, I have tried so many of these apps. But this is the one that I stick to because it’s the best.
It’s great just one thing
by alleg0ry on 2020/07/06 17:11
Im loving todoist so far, and I just started using it so this could be something I’m overlooking but what seems to be the only thing missing is push notifications, I’d like for it to be able to remind me i have something coming up and then this app would literally be perfect to me and I’d bump up to 5 stars because other than that it’s great!
Preferred task manager
by brad.arts on 2020/07/06 14:43
Used this for a few years. I keep thinking I’ll switch to something else but haven’t found anything better yet
Todoist is amazing
by Neil4Simpson on 2020/07/06 11:39
I’ve used Todoist every day for work and home for about 7 years. I can’t imagine not having it. It is so great for todo’s, lists, projects and more.
Wasn’t what I needed
by HoptownLisa on 2020/07/02 17:41
Good if you need to make lists and sub lists by date. I needed an app, however, that would also let you view and search completed tasks. In this app when you complete a task it is gone. You have to upgrade to premium to view completed tasks.
Best replacement for Wunderlist
by Patquin on 2020/07/02 13:04
Loved Wunderlist. Tried To Do—not happy with the slow bloat. Finally gave this a try. Pretty happy after some learning. Feel like I’m back to my productive habits.
I needed this app sooner
by stvvnnnn on 2020/06/30 17:25
It's like a second brain that remembers for me and frees up my mind so I can actually do my tasks and not worry about forgetting. I still use a real notepad to write down detailed thoughts and journal, I use Todoist for everyday tasks.
WORST APP
by puppy dog priness on 2020/06/29 23:32
I hated it u could not do anything with it unless u pay 36 dollars! It I so sad 😭 .I means the average reminder app is 0.99 I mean 36 💵 that is awful hate the app!!!!!!!!!!!
Misleading
by DaRealDeeI on 2020/06/29 00:21
This app is very misleading. You can’t do much without having to pay. For example to set a reminder you need to purchase the premium version.Overhaul unless you’re planning on buying the premium version before using it I wouldn’t recommend this app
Great! I have a suggestion
by larak333 on 2020/06/27 18:50
A wonderful app that helps me schedule so much of my tasks! I do suggest being able to quickly schedule ‘overmorrow’, the day after tomorrow. Thanks for making such a clean app!
Finally - organizing my toDo’s
by Geo mouse on 2020/06/27 15:51
I’ve always been a lost person, but found o was rewriting way more than checking off - and often not paying attention because it was hard to manage. Researched current todo tools, and Todoist really was the best choice. Nothing satisfies like finishing my Priority 1s and easily managing the list - and without painful rewriting. Thank you Todoist ! (And the blog entries are quite useful)

Was Great.... Until The Updates Started
by bln1dotcom on 2020/06/26 12:38
Great app at first, however, there are CONSTANT tweaks to the system which at this point make changing the order of items of a specific list virtually impossible using your phone. Off to research a replacement!

Quick and clean
by BeemerPilot on 2020/06/20 14:11
We had to give up our old listing we enjoyed for years but we like his one better. It’s quick and easy to personalize. Listed files can be color coded. Files can be shared, which is great for groceries. Con is I can’t delete a “standard” topic or move listed files up and down so my most used topics are at the top of the listing and rarely used at the bottom. I use my standard calendar for scheduling instead of heirs but I guess that would come in handy for some people. I’d recommend... FWIW.

Customer Support Does Not Exist
by The7thBleu on 2020/06/19 15:40
Have not gotten one email after writing multiple times. They merged my personal and work email. Which is disconcerting. Setting recurring appointments is a pain. It explains how but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried every two weeks and every 14 days. Doesn’t work. Then you have to add starting June 26 still doesn’t work. I really resent them not getting back to me.
It’s a game changer
by phoebesmomcz on 2020/06/18 21:05
I can’t say enough positive things about this app. It’s changed my life. I’ve always been a to-do list maker, but being able to schedule things and categorize? Definitely amazing. Highly recommend.

I. Love. This. App. Stop reading this. Just go download it. So easy to use. Intuitive, reliable, quick, simple to use but robust feature set. I could go on and on. I’m not the first to say this is the best to do list app, nor will I be the last. Huge fan. Excellent job developers!
Just started using this- will give final rating in a few months l:
by kimandfamily on 2020/06/16 05:56
A few days ago I downloaded Todoist because 1) the app was recently approved to be installed on my work iPhone issued by my employer and 2) I also need an effective organizational method for personal use. Until I started using Todoist my life was countless Post-Its at my work and home workstations as well as Calendar iPhone Entries/Alerts that had to be manually duplicated between my Work iPhone and Personal iPhone. As a bonus I upgraded my account (it’s created under my personal email) to Premium as a gift to myself cuz my birthday is in a couple of weeks. :-D I already love this app: before I knew I had a lot to juggle but now that I actually SEE the amount of incomplete tasks on my plate it’s a miracle that I haven't dropped more balls than I usually do! I'm already sleeping better because I'm not up in bed half the night staring at the ceiling and worrying that I have forgotten or will forget to do something important. Go ahead and upgrade to premium - a year costs about $34 which is less than most of you who are considering downloading this app spend on BS items in a week- you know this.! Free yourself! - Kim

Helpful for organizing
by Twerkules on 2020/06/13 02:09
The app is very helpful and excellent at helping me organize my to-do’s especially with reminder notifications! I like that it can automatically insert notification reminders, or put it into individual projects. My wife likes it as well, we did have a bit of a time finding out how to view completed tasks (thanks go to the developer for answering our original review), which really helps her out feeling accomplished even if it was small things. I got this app specifically for ADHD helping me get organized and it is so helpful if you tend to get distracted easily. And to create a project then break it down into sub tasks. Review updated to 5 stars from 4 for customer service and for helping correct (our user error) the only con that we had noticed about this app.
Premium Subscription Doesn’t Work

I paid for a premium subscription 3 days ago. Still cannot access any premium features. I created a support ticket in the app, but got no response.
Very useful if used.

Very useful
More Functionality Please
by Etheluhei on 2020/06/10 07:52
More recurring time options like being able to specify holidays or 2nd day of May while also specifying every other,2,3 years. Also, adding dependencies to tasks and other project management features would be useful.

A well structured daily to do list app that allows you to do something WITHOUT paying money for any feature on the app. 5/5!

Rescued by Todoist
by tsingle on 2020/06/08 20:04
When I heard that wunderlist was going the way of the dinosaurs, I was really disappointed. My wife and I used the app daily and stored a lot of info for trips to Africa where we work 3-4 months of the year. I tried Microsoft’s replacement but it didn’t fit our list-needs. Todoist came to our rescue and it was seamless to download our data from the old app. I highly recommend it.
please get this app it is amazing
by horrible app and so glitchy on 2020/06/06 21:51
I usually don’t write reviews for apps, but this app is life changing. Don’t judge it by the color/cover, like I did. I waited too long until I got this app. Pls get it as soon as you can, because it is honestly life changing and completely helped me be productive. And that’s coming from someone who tried hundreds of productivity apps. It’s so simple, but has everything you need on it. I completely and totally recommend! :)
I liked this app
by Chelsa27 on 2020/06/06 14:30
But this update has made ticking off a task and getting back to the next task to mark as completed a 3 or 4 step process. Click to complete, confirm completed, then go back to today, then go back to today, then scroll down to the next task. Or am I missing something? I won’t continue using the app if it’s that difficult to tick off a completed task. It used to be easy. Tick off and done. What happened?
Nearly-great
by EnriqueTheGreat on 2020/06/06 04:07
There are many things about this app that I like, however the date recognition is a bit too excitable. I tried for about ten minutes to set a task for “tomorrow” (Saturday) to remind of something on Sunday and no matter how I worded it, I could not get the entry to separate the dates. It tied both together so that they were both Saturday or both Sunday, I wound up having to disable smart date recognition altogether
Great app for productivity
by Chi Chi 29 on 2020/06/06 01:45
I use this app for both work and school. Since working from home, I have been using this app to remain on task. The app also helps me to remember when tasks are due.
The best way to get things done and stay ahead of what life throws your way

Almost perfect
by Lana Yuna on 2020/06/05 15:24
I pay for premium and it’s handy (the filters and comments are the best part). But I wished that the tasks that I’ve cleared synced correctly... when I open the app on my iPad and tick the things I’ve done, it clears it... but when I open it on my iPhone, the number of tasks I’ve cleared are there, but the tasks I’ve already completed are marked as incomplete. This mostly happens to reoccurring tasks. Otherwise, it’s the best to-do app.
Terrible customer service

I’ve contacted them several times with questions. No one has ever gotten back to me. Save your money!
Stable, simple and feature rich
by Jax Chan on 2020/06/04 17:17
The best thing about this app is that it’s very stable across all platforms; doesn’t crash, it is snappy and very reliable syncing. I have ran in troubles with syncing with multiple apps but this has been excellent so far. The premium features with this app are a huge bang for the buck, and the collaboration feature works flawlessly. The filters are also incredibly helpful. I evaluated 11 apps of different kinds including Things, Microsoft To Do (spiritual successor of Wunderlist), and this strikes the best balance between simplicity, UI elegance and power.
It rocks!
by green cabbage savage on 2020/06/04 16:06
It makes me feel so productive and it’s so easy! I really like just clicking to cross things off, and the 5-things-a-day goal makes me determined to get things done :) I like this app 😊=)
Great app!
by dice90 on 2020/06/03 14:36
This is exactly the app I needed to help keep track of tasks, to dos, and projects in both my personal and work life. The seamless syncing between my iPhone, Mac, Windows PC and iPad really make this a great app to use for seamless sync. I’ve also got my wife signed up and we work together on a lot of home projects around our small farm. This allows us to collaborate, add tasks to projects and notes about the tasks. I do think it would be better if notifications were not a premium only feature as without notifications, this product really doesn’t work for many folks as a reminder replacement. It’s also a little discouraging that there isn’t a family option... I’d love to include my kids’ chores on this and use it to teach them how to organize their tasks in life. Maybe a set cost for families up to a certain size? Outside of the package offerings, I think this is a fantastic product and recommend to a lot of people!
Todoist...the ultimate replacement for Wunderlist
by mharrell34 on 2020/06/03 13:41
I downloaded this app as a replacement for Wunderlist and I could not be happier! Not only does it do in an elegant way everything Wunderlist did, it offers more functionality and intuitive design, offering solutions to my planning requirements before I even thought I needed it. Forget about Microsoft ToDo...this blows them out of the water! Great job!
Best so far but not great
by GT3 RR on 2020/06/03 11:56
Functions that used to work like simply moving an item in a list - simply doesn’t. Sync, for me, says last sync 79 days - absurd. Gets very frustrating and hard to use.
Smart Schedule removed!
by Cbret520 on 2020/06/03 09:19
I canceled my subscription because Todoist eliminated the smart schedule feature. The one thing that distinguished it from the 1000s of other, cheaper to-do apps out there.
A Very Clumsy App
by ThePolarBeast on 2020/06/01 14:36
This app takes a lot of work to adapt to. There is nothing intuitive about its interface. Worse yet, the developers judge you by their criteria on how you are using the app for your own personal needs, and have the audacity to call it karma. The logic of the developers and the logic of the app both leave a lot to be desired. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you want to be more productive.
Seamless & life changing
by Hattie37 on 2020/05/10 19:35
I had to write a review. This app is so wonderful! I am already a very organized person, but between my ever expanding multiple email inboxes, my Google Calendar, my written calendar, and post-its on my PC monitor, I have become overwhelmed by way too many tasks and too much information. I am almost done getting all of my hundreds of things transferred into ToDoist. It syncs between my iPad, iPhone, and PC in seconds. The whole program feels intuitive and after a week, I am already feeling the ease of using the app on auto pilot. It is not necessary to begin using the program, but I did read a lot of the tutorial articles and spent a few hours in the help center learning all the lovely features, quick tips, and best use of items as the more I learned the more I realized this would truly be part of a new and simplified lifestyle. This initial effort is saving me hours every week in calendar adjustments and figuring out what next. It is all right at my fingertips now and any task easily found. I feel so much lighter and more energy to do the actual tasks. Off my mind (and my desk) and into the cloud. Thank you so much!! I am telling everyone about this. Oh, and such an added bonus in a long work day to be able to use emojis to have it feel a bit fun and easily recognize projects and labels. Feels good!
Best Task Manager I’ve Used to Date
by Link100 on 2020/04/26 13:38
It’s remarkable to me ToDoist isn’t ranked higher on the productivity charts because it easily eclipses anything that I’ve ever used before. It’s gorgeous (I prefer dark mode, but there are more themes) It integrates great with the GTD methodology (my preference) but whatever your system, it’s robust enough that you should be able to integrate it well. I love what they did with Karma, their gamified point system (but I would like to see this expanded). You can tell that the creators stay up-to-date on best practices and they regularly update a pretty informative blog that is enjoyable for a productivity junky like me. I used it for 24 hours and pretty much decided I NEEDED premium which is easily the best $3 I spend every month. It’s important to distinguish between what this is and is not though. It does not teach you how to be productive. It is not a good place to do high level goal setting, visioning, and planning. It is not a calendar. It also doesn’t focus you on the task at hand. The app is a Task Filing System. It is a utility that will enhance your workflow with those other things. It will work great for anyone who needs to make a to-do list, but those who chose to educate themselves on actual task management theory will get the most out of it. I hope it hits the top of the charts!
I don’t all to do list, this is by far my favorite
by MrWinky on 2017/12/20 04:20
I’ve used every to do list out there. Every complex, GTD, you name it I’ve used it. I’ve used it on every platform from windows, mac , iPad, iPhone. There are couple things that make this one of the best. It’s not perfect, but I’d rather have a good list that is visually intuitive, consistent across all platforms, simplifies complex situations, but still allows for the complexity. More importantly they are very fairly priced, for the incredible amount of features that other to do organization lists attempt and charge more for. Whether it is the desktop, the iPhone or the iPad, their interface is excellent and consistent. It’s very easy To maintain a to do list when one is calm or has few projects. But when I am stressed, and have a lot to put in the lists quickly, ToDoIst make it easy, intuitive, consistent so that I actually want to use the application. In simple terms, this is the first application that as my lists and projects and tasks add up, I don’t feel visually overwhelmed and don’t dread opening the application to see what’s awaiting me..
- Kim
Best I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot)
by MoonUnit137 on 2020/05/16 19:20
Todoist is full featured and actively developed with many thoughtful surprises, large and small throughout. Over the last ten years I’ve tried many task management apps and methodologies. I most recently tried several of the major ones a few months ago. Todoist is the best I’ve tried. It’s elegant to use if you want to keep it simple and has the capabilities necessary to implement a more rigorous task management system like GTD. This ability to keep it simple and facilitate complexity is important, I think, as it takes a while and some experimentation for a person to settle on a task management methodology that works best for them, often drawing from several different methodologies. Other popular task management apps are more limited, and after using them simply for a while and realizing you want more, the features that would allow you to do more aren’t present and you have to move to another app. This has happened to me a few times and was a waste of time. I wish I’d just gone with Todoist from the start.
I’m telling everyone about this great app
by HomeManager on 2019/06/10 13:01
Whether you work outside the home, have a home business, or are a stay at home mom or student, this app and a few good systems can transform your productivity. I use a conglomeration of methods that I gleaned from 3 books: Getting Things Done, The 12 Week Year, and Do More Better. Those foundational books combined with this app have tripled my productivity already. I’ve tried several others, from OmniFocus to Cozi to Habit Tracker and more. I manage a home business, am a home school teacher, as well as manage my house. This is the first app that has given me the freedom to use my systems in an effective manner. My stress has reduced as I’ve found an app that lets me dump all of those tasks from my head and place them in an app that I trust to organize them in a manner that keeps me from missing anything. I wish it was a bit more intuitive in applying GTD, but I’ve managed some work arounds for setting up Reviews and other important GTD basics. Give this a try. You wont be sorry.
Good, but needs undo feature
by Ktscopes on 2020/04/11 11:22
This app is intuitive and has good features. I only have the free version, but I have been happy except for one thing, the importance of which is escalating. Unless I am blind, Todoist has no undo feature. So if I accidentally delete a task I can’t get it back. This has happened to me more than once and the last time my task had a long list of subtasks. All disappeared. Given that the method for deletion is to click the circle to the left of the task, when in other apps a circle in that spot is used for selecting, it seems there ought to be an undo. Otherwise, it’s a great app. Update: The developer contacted me with instructions to use while viewing my project. I don’t have a project, just a simple list, and when I click on the three dot icon at the top right, I do not see “Show completed tasks,” but only “Select tasks.” Update again. The developer contacted me a second time and confirmed that deleting a task can only be done in project view, which was disappointing. But the developer’s commitment to communication is splendid, which counts for a lot in my book.
Finally almost perfect
by CoreyIn140 on 2019/10/24 15:47
The new overhaul of Todoist has made it feel fast, reliable, and easy. Honestly, it’s the best thing to happen to Todoist since they released 1.0. This is now my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for an easy, understandable, and reliable task manager because it can be simple if someone doesn’t want to spend too much time dealing with it, or robust if someone is looking for something to center their entire life around. There are only a couple features missing, like matching system dark mode (so I can choose one of the fun color themes for the header but still have a dark screen), setting projects to always sort by a criteria (so every time I open them I don’t have to click sort by date), and setting a start time for my day (so when the clock rolls over to midnight I don’t suddenly have a red bubble with a giant list of things to do, I should be able to choose the time of day that starts). If these three features were added, I don’t think I could come up with a single complaint. Todoist on iOS really is that close to perfect at this point.
Want to love it BUT...
by TreehousePJ on 2018/12/10 13:40
Overall I like the program and how it operates BUT the reporting is pretty much non existent. I have been requesting a simple report for Completed Task by Project for a range of dates since I started using this program over 3 years ago. I can’t think of a more basic easy to program report that would benefit many people. They tell me to us IFTTT (which I tried ...doesn’t work well or give me a concise format) or export to spreadsheet (just something else to do). Why not just add a Report button where one selects project and entered range of dates ...vu wa la...like magic! I don’t want to switch programs but I am currently looking ... to me this is such an obvious feature I just assumed (my bad) that I would have this reporting capability. While I’m on a roll, my second pet peeve, on the iPad, when you go into a Project, everything is sorted by date entered and you can’t change it... nobody cares about date entered ...we need due date order default or at least the ability to change sort order.
Sanity saving
by CineasteSF on 2019/10/13 06:35
I don’t usually write app reviews, but Todoist has been invaluable for me. Until now, I’d gotten along just fine keeping track of things by using a handwritten weekly list of tasks, supplemented by an ongoing list of tasks in my calendar. I’m semi-retired, and don’t have that much to keep track of. However, I recently assumed responsibility for coordinating the care of a friend who needs 24/7 care, dealing with all her insurance, doctor appointments, managing her finances, and many other critical tasks that were overwhelming. I turned to Todoist and it was remarkably easy to learn to use. Not everything was completely intuitive, but the ability to organize tasks into separate projects, and the flexibility of viewing tasks allows me to manage more than I could hope to without the use of the app. The seamless coordination between using it on my iPhone and iPad means I can add or review tasks whenever and wherever I am. I paid for the upgrade and it’s well worth it to be able to add comments.
Fantastic Update
by JJdizzle778 on 2019/10/23 15:31
Been using Todoist for almost 3 years now I’ve tried MANY different Task/Project Managers even following them closely and trying them out after they would get huge updates. There are a lot of great productivity apps now days but I always find myself coming back to Todoist as it’s simple yet powerful and in my opinion has the best balance of simplicity and features in one package. Throw in the fact that the team at Todoist is constantly improving it with this new Foundations Update it’s gone to a new level. There are still things they need to tweak but overall it’s been great. Also just when I thought this app couldn’t get any better it did with the Foundation’s update and with word of it adding Trello style boards as a future option I see things only getting better. I highly recommend not just trying this app but learning the ins and outs and living with it for a month to really get the full experience of how great this application is. Keep it up Todoist Company!!
A must-have app! LIFESAVER!
by thee.lauren.morin on 2019/07/08 18:37
This app has made my job far less confusing, chaotic, and frustrating! I am an organized person naturally, and I write everything down! But notebooks make me crazy because they are hard to keep organized without a bunch of things crossed out and arrows pointing everywhere! This app allows me to write down what needs to be done, organize it by project, make priority levels, etc. It also works as a calendar to alert me when certain things are due. And I LOVE that I can mark something as complete, and it disappears completely! No ugly, crossed out words! And maybe the best part is that it’s online based, so whatever I add to my list through my phone gets added to my list on my computer! So I don’t have a hundred sticky notes and scrap pieces of paper with notes written on them all over my desk. I always have my phone on me, so I can pull up the all and add stuff in a second! This is the app that I have always wanted!
Excellent
by Beau-Ford on 2018/10/25 01:23
I have not found a better overall package out there. Once you really dig into what you can do with Todoist, it’s much more powerful than its simplistic interface reveals at first. I chose Todoist because of its multi platform and web sync, but after trying countless other options including Things, OmniFocus, 2Do and some Evernote extensions, I kept coming back to ToDoist. Once I really embraced the strengths, like rescheduling options, forwarding emails, and using priorities, I was able to piece together a very effective system. It’s not often I find an app that sticks around. It’s easy to procrastinate and spend valuable time looking for the perfect task management system, but I’ve found that what I really was looking for was both a system and a tool. I wanted a GTD app conceptually, but my roots are based on Franklin Covey. I was able to achieve an awesome hybrid approach of what works for me using the functionality of Todoist.
Switched from The iPhone X’s Native To-Do List App
by ticothep on 2019/07/01 17:47
I am a huge proponent of to-do lists and have been using Trello and the iPhone X’s native to-do list app. However, I had recently been recommended by a friend to try the Todoist app! Due to my overly-organized nature and my desire for increased efficiency, it was hard for me to imagine switching over from my current organization-flow to this new app because I was worried that I’d have to re-learn a new way of organizing my tasks and to-dos. However, I couldn’t have been MORE wrong when I finally made the switch! The Todoist app is fast, intuitive, minimalistic, and so focused on eliminating the distractibility of inessential features that most other to-do apps include. Actually, I was SO impressed with the Todoist app that I am currently exploring the possibility of integrating the “Twist” app (another product made by Doist) as a main mode of communication for the leadership teams at my Church! Thank you, Doist!
Recently switched and not looking back
by Snowgumby on 2018/01/21 04:08
What I like is I can easily have sub Projects and sub items of sub tasks. In other words, nesting folders. I can drag an item up and down in my list, or left and right to nest an item under another. For example, I can have a shopping list project, but then have sub projects for different stores, with a sub list for each, for groceries and electronics. Also, I have 100+ items on my to do list but having four levels of priorities helps me focus on what is important and urgent. I researched and downloaded several to-do apps, and this is the clear winner for me. If I was to design my own to-do list app it would be Todoist. I love the clean UI. I use it on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Windows machine. I only explored to-do apps recently because I used and loved Wunderlist for years (RIP). Had I known the functionality of Todoist, I would have used this instead, years ago!
Game changer
by ThisNicknamesAreTooComplicated on 2019/11/24 14:38
With digital tools, such as email, calendars, cloud, etc, having to actually use paper for organization is becoming a thing of the past. The one item I could never find a solution for was to dos. Because of this, I still carried a paper to do calendar (like you had in middle school) to help me track things I wanted to get done. I tried all sorts of ways to get rid of this (emails, calendar invites, etc), but none gave me the visual list or ease of just writing it down. This app changed all that. It’s functions not only replaced my calendar, but actually improved as I could organize them by project, search them, and move them around. It sychs quickly between my iPhone and iPad, and has become one of my most important apps. My company gives us office 365, which includes Microsoft to do. I’ve experimented with this, but its functionality or ease is no wear close to this app!
Now Todoist is Perfect
by Adam AMH 7 on 2020/02/23 22:35
I left Todoist for Things. Then I left Things for Moleskin. Then I left Moleskin for the updated iOS Reminders app. I’m back with Todoist! They’ve changed the clunkiness of everything and have added sections and the ability to check off tasks on their mobile platforms the way they always had it on a Mac. The sections addition(I’ve been gone for awhile) was one of the features that made me go to Things...except I lost the intuitiveness of Todoist when I did that...Now I can do the same thing with Todoist and better consolidate and organize everything without feeling overwhelmed with so many projects in the task column. Sub-tasks are also evolving with Todoist. I’m very pleased to be back and happy Todoist has adapted and evolved to stay on top. I’ll save you the trial and error...Stay with Todoist, otherwise you’ll eventually be back anyway.

Great app...when it works
by TooFastForITunes on 2019/04/22 12:06
Today I showed up for work and opened the app to get my day started, and was greeted by a message saying that my “session has expired.” I tried logging back in. No dice. Then I opened the app on my phone, which also booted me out unceremoniously. Then I went to log in at the web site. Still, nothing. I then tried the password reset link (obnoxiously labeled “Forgot your password?” because, clearly, them booting me out of my lists on all platforms simultaneously is the result of user error). I entered every single email account I have, and was told that they have no record of my account. I looked for a support number to call, but it would seem that they don’t offer support over the phone. Gee, I’m so glad I’ve made this app an integral part of my workflow. I hope whenever they figure out what went wrong with their database that they’re able to recover the THOUSANDS of tasks that I entered!
Best task management platform in the world

I discovered Todoist several years ago and have growing with it ever since they got started. Im a single mom running my own business, manage a team, and I’m your typical entrepreneur with so many things to do and stay on top of. For a having a “adhd” type mins with so much creativity ... Todoist is my Brain!! I’m able to manage and entire business process and checklist with Todoist. My robot assistant works for me out of Todoist and helps me get projects done. I’m able to keep my personal grocery list, personal shopping care list and any personal reminders all in one place. Not only that but I’ve sold this platform off to ALL OF MY CLIENTS and it’s really making a difference in their life as Real Estate Agents to keep a process flow in tact!!! I feel stress free and everything in one place!! Thank you Todoist!!!
Great if you are willing to use it on your web platform or computer too
by Nararabbit on 2019/10/06 17:07
There are too many critical features that are unavailable on the iOS version. You can’t print form the app. That’s right, you can’t print! You also can’t sort your daily to do list by the priority you set (rendering that pointless in my mind), add comments, or several other things in the iOS app. It’s there mainly to check things off, remind you through notifications (which are either toggled on or off - you cannot turn on notifications for *only* high priority tasks for example), and allow you to adjust dates and times. A lot of todoist is great, but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who plans to use ONLY or MAINLY their phone if they want to take advantage of Todoist’s power. It’s really a supplement, not the best standalone due to its limitations. I hope in the future they’ll give it more support because I do think the software is great overall, I just don’t want to feel tethered to a computer so much.
Changing my life for better.
by Memfistony on 2020/01/29 04:45
I’m a pro-procrasnator. But this Todoist has changed my life, step by step. Application is simple to use but powerful. Cross platform and pick up and resume on any device. It helps me at office and at home as well as on vacation. You can attach document or screenshot , create projects setting tags sub tasks and comment and so on. As well as share as group task. It sounds complicate but you always start simple. Daily todo and inbox is where you begin with. Then you expand on work project. Mine is like main income. Side income, Youtubeproject. Podcast. Travel, home project, personal improvement. Automobile, pending(require others response) Bills and so on. I can’t say enough how much I love this app. And their update is always on point and make life easier every time. I appreciate you guys, Doist family.
Great balance of features but a few bad UI choices
by drtimhill on 2017/11/03 09:24
There are a lot of great todo apps out there, but for me Todoist hits the sweet spot between Uber feature set (Omnifocus) and ease of use (Reminders anyone?). Under a deceptively simple UI is a powerful app, with all the features and integrations I need. I love the intelligent task parsing that makes adding new tasks soooo easy. The multi platform support (and sync between them) works perfectly, and the web app is as full-featured as the desktop apps. However I have to knock off one star for a horrid UI choice on the iPhone ... the almost totally hidden search function. To search all projects you have to first choose a project (yes really) then tap a menu button then tap search and then tap all tasks before you can enter a search term. The app is screaming to have a search icon on the main page .. which oddly the Mac app does indeed have.
Todoist - It is the system!!
by Rate Mint on 2018/12/24 13:32
I have tried several systems for managing my projects and tasks and Todoist is the system that I find most helpful. The number one biggest reason is the Gmail extension that allows me to convert emails to tasks and the tasks are linked to the email. Most of my tasks arrive as emails. With Todoist, I convert these emails to tasks quickly and easily. The second reason I find Todoist productive is the wide range of platforms on which Todoist is available. I use Todoist on my iPhone, my iPad, Windows, Gmail, Outlook.... I can organize tasks by projects and view the tasks by due date or project. Because I use it on every platform I have, I can access everywhere. As someone said, the best task/project manager is the one you use regularly. I use it everyday and learn to do more with it.
Todoist is great but falls short on UI on iOS
by Basit.Anwer on 2018/12/07 08:05
I am a premium user of Todoist and have implemented GTD with it. I’ll list down pros and cons that I found. Summary First: Todoist itself is excellent because it is just not an app. The NLP feature is the best thing but after everything good, it still needs a lot of UI improvements in the iOS app. Nothing that you can’t live without but would be awesome if it had. Just use it, you’ll love it. And the support is also good. Pros: - The best thing about Todoist is assigning labels, projects and dates. The natural language processing is so helpful in adding new tasks yet it’s still underrated in every review. - Supported everywhere. From windows to Mac. Mobile devices and web. It helps a lot. - Complicated yet it’s simple. - It supports multiple edits Con - The UI could be improved a lot. The individual tasks take a lot of screen space. A compact UI helps you prioritize tasks. There is just too much empty space. - Editing task is a hassle. While adding task is a breeze. You just have to take too many steps to edit a label or a project - We cannot navigate to Projects from Filters even though every task shows the project it is related to and every other Todoist app supports it. - The web UI is a lot better and functional on Safari than the native IOS app.
Pretty useful task list organizer
by Ketzlkat on 2019/01/29 19:36
I’ve been using Todoist for a while now. I find this one simple to use, pretty easy to learn and get started right away. I also like that they gave me a fairly generous amount of time to fully evaluate the pro version to decide if I want the additional functionality. Honestly it works great, even without the pro features, but they are a nice bonus. Three things keep me from giving it 5 stars. While using the pro feature, the notifications for reminders are inconsistent. I want a push notification to my phone or watch, but sometimes it works other times it doesn’t. The other thing, and I find this with most task apps, is that you can only assign one date. I would like to have several dates and milestones along the way. I know there are ways around this, but I just want to be able to tell myself to start something on a specific date but keep the due date when it is actually due. When you have sub tasks with different due dates they don’t reference their parent tasks, so it can be a bit confusing if you have several tasks with similar steps or sub tasks to be completed. I also want repeating tasks with sub tasks to refresh when the task refreshes, but I am not sure it works that way.
Saved me from the hassles of ADHD
by Tasty_Leviathan on 2020/05/09 20:35
I’m a lot less distracted since installing this app. It keeps me focused because I can just look at it whenever I want. It’s compatible with my laptop, which is a huge plus since I sometimes am studying on my computer and I sometimes remember random tasks on the go. It has a few things here and there that it could add, such as being able to alphabetize/sort your projects, leave comments on separate sections, or sort by color, but those are secondary to its most helpful features, which is the ability to sort tasks and not so much projects. Still might be nice to consider. All in all, an excellent app to have if you frequently write lists and forget about them or lose them.
Needs Some Improvement
by RobWSeattle on 2018/04/12 03:04
I am a heavy task user. I believe a lot of my success in my career was due to my utilizing task management systems. I was utilizing computer based task systems back in 1994. I love them. I’ve been through all the best in class task management apps. Most recently I used Wunderlist, but wanted to get ahead of the Microsoft mess, and jumped to Todoist. Overall Todoist is amazing. I’m doing things I just dreamed of with my old systems. Custom filters - incredible!! I’m a little frustrated with the iOS app though. Here are a couple items that need to be fixed: 1. The ability to duplicate tasks. A lot of my tasks are kind of repetitive in their setup. I know I can use the Mac app to do this. Why can’t I click duplicate task on iOS? This would be great for me. 2. Sorting. They really need to improve sorting. There really isn’t a good way to do it on iOS. I have a label called “priority”. I will only label a few things (up to 5) with this. I want to manually sort these in order of work priority. When I try, it just goes back to alphabetical. Also, I have a project with multiple recurring items by due date. There is no way to sort this by due date. It’s absolutely worthless to view this project on iOS - it’s such a mess because there is no sorting. Please do some work so there are multiple sort options on iOS.
Overall great app
by Starsigma on 2020/04/30 01:54
I have been using Todoist for a little while now. Overall I really like the app and have been using it for both personal and professional reminders. The only real issue I have with it is the Apple Watch...it is not fully compatible with it..yes it does show the reminders on your watch but you have to get to them right away. If you don’t and swipe down from the notification screen on your watch. If you select a task the app doesn’t respond to allow you to mark it complete or snooze. You have to press down on the item for several seconds before it will bring up the screen to complete the task. This occurs whether you have one task to address or if you have missed multiple . Basically 50/50 shot it responds on the watch. I would give it 5 stars if not for this issue.
Fixed recurring event bug - happy again
by hclincoln on 2018/12/28 15:37
Bug has been addressed & all is well. Still not happy that I lost so many recurring events during the bug and have to remember/re-enter them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I loved this app until about 1 month ago. I’m a premium user and can’t believe how a simple bug can go unaddressed for so long. You’re supposed to be able to schedule recurring events (ex. Everyday, every 3 days, every week), but Todoist drops the recurrence on it’s own after 1-2 days with no warning. If you don’t catch it before marking something done, it is gone for good. This leaves you to hopefully remember the event and then comb through completed events and re-enter them frequently, as in DAILY. Too frustrating for an app meant to simplify life: I’ll be moving on to something else unless bug is addressed very soon.
Better than wonderlist, but needs better UI
by CountryMom27 on 2017/10/26 02:10
I’ve tried multiple to do apps, and Todoist is pretty good, especially since it isn’t owned by Microsoft and it is accessible on my work PC, my iPad, phone, watch, and personal Mac laptop. That said, the UI needs some work. It’s hard to see what is on my plate for the week, or the next few days, because there is no swimlane/kaiban visualization. If there was a way to visually see my to-dos (sizing by expected time, colored by topic - e.g. work, research, home, kids...), I’d be in heaven. Even if it could integrate with a kaiban app that was decent... but alas, I have the choice between listing everything here and not being able to see it, or being able to see everything in another app like Trello and losing the project organization in Todoist. Lastly, we use outlook (which I hate) for work, and the integration with Todoist is really weak, and there is no integration between Outlook for Mac and Todoist whatsoever. Really shameful.
Probably Good for Shared Task lists
by LoyalSage on 2017/09/27 14:22
I tried using this for my own personal task list, but like every other task manager, it has no concept of things needing to be done prior to when they are due, so it is more work than it’s worth to get reminded of a task prior to the due date. The default view is Today, which shows things due today, and the reminder emails show you what is due today and past due, which is pretty useless for my specific use cases. So basically it’s probably a good app, but not for me. I wish the Pro subscription had a monthly option (or maybe even just a short trial so you know if the Pro features make it worth using without committing to a year) because I feel like I need to keep using this app that doesn’t work for me since I’ve paid for it it for a year.
Just renewed Premium. 2nd Year 🥇🏆🍻
by Lovely 5FF on 2019/11/23 10:31
I’ve used quite a few to do list type of organizers and none have fit the bill as consistently as Todoist. The one thing I look at that is very important to me when I’m considering downloading an app is I check out how frequently it’s updated. There’s nothing I hate more than loving an app and then finding that it’s kind of abandoned and no one’s really keeping up with the latest versions of iOS. I am so pleased with how smoothly Todoist works on my iPhone, my iPad and even my Mac. I know I can grab it in my browser if I need to and I feel secure knowing I can always have all my personal and professional notes and projects at my fingertips. Couldn’t live without it. Please pardon any typos. Dictating...
Finally I don’t mind losing Wunderlist
by Poet blogger on 2020/04/24 02:35
When I got word that Wunderlist was being discontinued, I was devastated. My whole life was coordinated on that app! It worked so well! I tried several other to-do apps, landing on Microsoft To Do, which turned out to be the worst, glitchiest, least useful productivity app I’ve ever tried. But then I found Todoist, and I’m happy again. Everything works just as well as with Wunderlist—better, in fact, because of the built-in date recognition, color-coding, and sub-tasks. And I don’t even have the pro version. I love this app. My life is once again back on track, and it doesn’t take me three tries and about five minutes of my time to simply open the app, as would happen with To Do. Thank you.
One (really) annoying missing feature.
by thecommamaster on 2019/02/17 17:46
I absolutely L O V E todoist, but i have two complaints/feature requests. Firstly, why doesn’t a parent project show all the tasks in a sub-project? I have individual projects (like work, personal, shopping), and then sub projects to show the different categories (like a sub-project for items i need to buy at specific stores). It’s great for de-cluttering my app. It would be absolutely WONDERFUL to have an option available to have the parent project show all the tasks in the sub-projects. Secondly, why isn’t the drop-down menu to show sub-projects available when you favorite a parent project? These little things are pretty annoying, and i’d really love for you guys to add these things!
Outstanding!
by Eks2 on 2019/01/23 13:27
I recently switched it to do it. From two to do. Yes I know I left the dark ages for an amazing product in every way. I could write an essay on all of what is great about this app. It’s just so well thought out and designed. Here are the highlights: Interface is incredible. I can actually see, on my phone, at a glance, all my active projects. Being able to nest projects inside of projects and tasks inside of tasks gives ultimate flexibility. As do the filters. Anything you want to, well filter, on a regular basis, you can. For example I have a filter to make sure I don’t accidentally put something in my inbox without a due date. And I have one to replace the hotlist on toodledo. I also use Spark and seamless integration between the two is wonderful. No more searching for emails that I need to refer to. I simply add them to Todoist. I have begun using it the way I used to use Google Inbox to bundle all the emails related to a trip. I am sure I am leaving out other wonderful things I love. I have 200 apps on my phone and far and away, this is my favorite. I manage both my business and personal life with it.
Changed my Life
by hannahthomas00000 on 2019/01/12 23:48
It’s not an exaggeration for me to say Todoist has literally “changed my life.” I always had a problem with remembering to do things. So then I would train myself to write it down. Then I would lose the paper or whatever so that didn’t work. Todoist is the first thing I open when I log onto my computer. Before my work day begins, I plan out all the things I need to do for that day on Todoist and having it listed there along with the very easy-to-use interface takes out the anxiety of the question, “what do I work on next?” Love that it’s on my phone too. Now when something pops into my head that I need to do I enter it in Todoist and guess what - it actually gets done yay! :) Great app!
Good to-do app, but could be even better
by 'Ru on 2019/06/23 19:58
I like Todoist a lot, and I've tried many other to-do apps that don't stack up to it. Even still, there are things I find that it lacks. New updates have bug fixes, but I wish I saw more improvements to actual functionality and usability. My personal biggest annoyances/things Todoist is missing: - Can't keep a project automatically sorted by date (without having to hit sort whenever I add tasks). - No start dates on tasks. Some of my tasks can span multiple days, and Todoist doesn't provide a good way to keep track of these. - Can't change what time "today" ends. I'm often up till 2am, but any tasks I complete after midnight count for the next day. - Can't automatically sort the Today view by project (within tasks of the same priority, I don't want to see my projects all jumbled together). - Subtasks could use improvements, especially recurring subtasks. Completing a recurring parent task doesn't update completed subtasks. - "Next week" sometimes reschedules for 2 weeks from now. For example, I have mine set to Saturday, and today is Sun 6/23. I would expect "next week" to reschedule to Sat 6/29, but instead it's Sat 7/6.
Best Productivity App Ever
by carlos.gon90 on 2020/04/29 10:15
This is the first review I write for an app ever, I just couldn’t avoid telling everybody about it. If you’re struggling with productivity or just looking for a to-do app to contribute to your life, this is the best app you can add to your system. I’ve been struggling with time management and productivity for years, trying notebooks, whiteboards, calendars, agendas, reminders, everything. Finally I have a 3 tier system using Todois as my main app to capture ideas and organice my tasks, my calendar and Trello for project status tracking. Don’t look any further or waste more time on research, download todois and see how your work, your life and the balance between the two just gets better. My life changed
This app saved my life
by RosesBloom on 2020/02/08 05:16
I can honestly say, without hesitation, this app saved my life. As someone who has struggled constantly with anxiety related to feeling overwhelmed by all of the things going on in my head, this app has provided me with a simple, organized and effective way to maintain my tasks and lists. No longer do I feel the pressure of keeping track of everything all at once, or the failure of forgetting to complete something. This app has allowed me to become organized and efficient, tackling projects I’ve been putting off for months and keeping an orderly list of all the things I’ve left to do. Being able to set automatically recurring deadlines has prevented me from missing bills, appointments and assignments. The convenience of adding new tasks, even months in the future, allows me to prioritize what is most important. The widget has made it so I can stay focused on my daily tasks instead of the “future problems” that I’ve spent so much time dwelling on. This app has made a marked change in my daily life and my mental health. I would recommend it to literally everyone.
Latest UI mini-refresh has dominoes the app
by Gurgen B. on 2018/03/30 00:16
This latest you are you refresh has been terrible. To have projects/labels/filters horizontally in tab format was perfect. They went and stacked them vertically. I guess that’d be ok if you had a handful of projects, labels, and filters, but not if you have 50 projects and a dozen filters and labels each. This used to be the near-perfect app and the best of the bunch, despite near-embarrassing HTML desktop apps. Think about it, this hurts the power users the most, which are probably 100 times more likely to be paid subscribers. They will be leaving you in droves if you don’t fix this in my opinion. Please think about it. 38k Karma level.
Perfect!
by ChipperLive on 2018/01/07 15:47
Except for the part where you forced me to become a premium member just to receive notifications which I had already intended to do but you chose notifications to be the reason. I’ve got an overly sensitive expectation of respect honor kindness and intelligence vs cunningness. When I saw what you chose, “notifications are for premium members” I slumped in my chair before becoming furious that anyone thought I was that stupid. That minuscule . I was offended and insulted, I simply deleted the app. I can use my iPhone calendar to do exactly the same thing plus get 2 (Two) notifications. You almost hit the mark. What a shame greed took over your decisions. Imagine “premium google” Sincerely, Leland.
This app rocks
by daleb1118 on 2019/12/03 18:38
I have a really really hard time remembering to keep up with apps like these. Not to mention a guilt complex that makes me feel horrible about failing to complete goals. But this app makes it so easy to use that I enjoy making lists. I look for things to put on my list because it makes me feel productive. the goal feature makes it feel like I’m accomplishing even more than just my tasks without making it an obligation. The color themes and app icon customization make it fun to use and look at. And I don’t even pay for the premium, that is just with the free version. I really really love this app and it has been my saving grace!
Attention Developers!!!
by Ging Raye on 2019/07/05 04:42
Awesome app, truly amazing and very helpful in getting organized, especially when juggling so many tasks, as I have to. It would be absolutely perfect if it had 2 things - One, a nagging feature. Certain tasks I want to be nagged daily, hourly, some that are of utmost urgency, every single minute until I do it. 24me is the only app I’ve found that has this nagging feature. And two, set the reminder alarms to go off daily, weekly, ever two weeks, etc. - if this app had these features, it would be beyond perfect for me! If I am overlooking these features Developers - I beg you to point them out with instructions on how to utilize them! If they are not currently options, I beg of you to add them...thank you!
Obsessed with this app!
by ahaef on 2018/12/23 18:08
I cannot get things done in life without this app. The speed & simplicity has made it so easy to add & track tasks from moving across the country to delivery times for food at work events. Repeating tasks are more flexible in this app than any other I’ve tried, and the natural language input makes it a breeze to create new tasks. Over the years I’ve used this app, it’s seen continuous improvement and added every feature an old review I left had listed as reasons I relied on multiple apps. The premium features are worth every reasonably-priced penny & the Apple Watch app is top-notch. Continues to be one of my most-launched apps!
Organized but useless
by graciezilka on 2018/07/30 05:18
I like how this app is organized, I can put something aside for the next day and check things off when I’m done and all of the things on my todo list are organized for which day they have to be done by which I really like. They have extra features when you buy premium which I understand, they have to make money somehow, but one of the premium features is to have notifications on the app. I just feel like the point of someone even having a todo list is to not forget what they need to be doing, so notifications to remind me what I need to be doing I feel like are crucial to the app. if anything, it would be the same thing as having a different reminder app to remind myself to go onto this app. It just seems pointless to even have this app in the first place.

Awesome app
by Asdelu on 2020/08/05 15:09
It’d be awesome if keeping tasks for future reference to keep them from showing up as overdue tasks.

I wish I could have custom dates/reminders (I.e. you could set the date to twice every two days or 3 times everyday).

by ChetMG on 2020/07/09 10:00
I’ve experimented with numerous to-do and productivity apps, but i invariably rely on ToDoist. It provides flexible labeling and filtering, intuitive and varied task views, and unusual features like Google calendar integration, which lets you rapidly reschedule tasks via drag-and-drop. I’m a Premium user, and find it well worth the price.

Wasn’t what I needed
by HoptownLisa on 2020/07/02 17:41
Good if you need to make lists and sub lists by date. I needed an app, however, that would also let you view and search completed tasks. In this app when you complete a task it is gone. You have to upgrade to premium to view completed tasks.

by DaRealDeeI on 2020/06/29 00:21

I’ve always been a lost person, but found o was rewriting way more than checking off - and often not paying attention because it was hard to manage. Researched current todo tools, and Todoist really was the best choice. Nothing satisfies like finishing my Priority 1s and easily managing the list - and without painful rewriting. Thank you Todoist ! (And the blog entries are quite useful)

FWIW.

Best task management platform in the world
by Sha-maniac on 2018/12/30 23:38
I discovered Todoist several years ago and have growing with it ever since they got started.
