Essential
by TheresainAK on 2019/12/13 02:50
1Password is essential to my workflow on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I use unique, secure passwords everywhere because this app makes it easy to do so. This most recent update brings the ability to use 1Password within apps other than browsers. It is updated frequently and almost every update brings a new feature that makes my life easier. I really appreciate the choice to purchase or subscribe, nit being forced into a subscription.

If this is 1 password 7 it is lousy. I have it on my phone and iPad but can’t get it on my new Mac. I am old and stupid and you would think I could get a real person from 1Password support to help but alas it is not meant to be. If you’re over 30 and not up to all the latest technology you had best stay away. John Wilson

7.4.4 bug on iPad
by LarryPDX1 on 2019/12/12 13:17
When in an app that needs a password I click on the password field… iPad os pops up the dialog manager box and I select 1Password…1Password opens its login window with big key lock symbol in the middle but nothing else. No touch auth or master PW entry field. Only option is to hit Cancel which clears the window. 1Password works fine in slide over mode. This issue only appeared after updating to 7.4.4 iPadOS 13.2.3 IPad 5th gen

Literally couldn’t work without it
by DavidMLewis on 2019/12/11 20:49
I probably use 1Password ten times a day, across four different platforms. While there is a learning curve to any password manager, it quickly becomes intuitive and seamless. Don’t go another day without it.
Fabulous!

Absolutely the best!
by bparker02 on 2019/12/11 01:02
I love almost everything about this app! One frustrating thing that I run into more than a few times a week; I go to search for a password that I “might” have stored months or years ago but only to find out that I didn’t. Then I have to hit the ‘x’ or Cancel to clear the data, then the ‘+’ button to create a new login. Can we please skip all of this and below the original search bar where it says “:( Sorry, no results” add some options such as: “Add new login for ________.” “Add new secure note for ________.” “Add new credit card for ________.” Just my two-cents... Thanks, keep up the great work!

I LOVE this app!
by Missybean13 on 2019/12/10 16:45
I am so glad I decided to get this app. I have not had even one bad incident. This app is phenomenal and I don’t even have to use my other password Managers. It handles it all. even remembers prior passwords incase you mess up or fotget new passwords. If you forget the vault password you can roll back the vault to the last password used. Thank you to the developers of this app!Worth every penny for the peace of mind i have.

More confusing every day
by tambo60 on 2019/12/10 05:06
I’ve been a 1Password user for more than a decade, and while I love the ability to have my passwords in one app, I am unhappy with how confusing and complicated the app has become. My PC browsers all have different icons and apparently different versions (!) of 1Password since I “upgraded” to a family account. Half the time I have to crack open my OLD laptop to look up a password because the version I’m trying to use doesn’t have my updated passwords in it! Arrgghh!! Also, “upgrading” to a family account was NOT a pleasant experience; the required change in the number of characters in my password and the duplication of everything in my old vault — with no real explanation for either change — are giant pains in the a**. The help desk person I spoke with about the vault duplication calmly assured me I should just DELETE one of my vaults in order to resolve the duplication issue. NO thanks! The vaults contain different quantities of total logins! I don’t know which vault is up to date now, and I’m terrified of deleting the wrong one. I don’t even know which vault on my smartphone is being synchronized because the explanations in the app’s settings are anything but clear. I won’t be renewing my 1Password family account. It was a big mistake and I’m not sure I’ll keep using 1Password at all after I download a copy of all my data — in both vaults. The simplistic beauty of the app has been complicated to death, and I resent having to become a freaking IT professional in order to continue using what was once a convenient and easy-to-understand application. :-(
Love it

I have been using 1Password for years and I absolutely love how they improve in every update, all while embracing new features available. Thank you Team!
An Absolute Must Have!
by ohhaythar! on 2019/12/09 23:26
This is an app I have ZERO regrets paying the subscription on. Not only does it integrate perfectly to the platform of your choice or cross-platform, but the in-app 2FA is incredible. The support folks always get back to you and are the utmost professional people!

Impossible to give 0 stars
by ygdgrd on 2019/12/09 16:45
Clunky, confusing, self - contradictory. If you try to generate new passwords for an existing account, this thing will take you to a vast wasteland of sites with unknown passwords. I’m sure it’s generating SOMETHING, but nothing you can find or use. Worse, if you’ve been using iCloud Keychain in the past, you can’t turn it off, or you won’t be able to log into existing sites. But with it on, you can’t use 1Password. Waste of time and money.

Trouble
by Tucson frustrated on 2019/12/09 15:13
Nothing but trouble moving from version 1 to version 7. Double billed snd account frozen w/o credit. Fixed that and now cant transfer my primary vault to phones or ipads, at least versions that save! Mo response to help and the on/line instructions are out of date. The free “lifetime version” worked prrfectly and now I am. Paying for a frustrating nightmare

An outstanding password app
by Bart C1 on 2019/12/09 01:08
I’ve been using 1Password for about 5-years and love it. Was a dedicated RoboForm user for many years but have found 1Password to be easier to use, especially on Apple devices. You won’t go wrong using this and it syncs so easily that I never have to worry about it being current across the three devices I use it on.
What now

Thank you for standalone licenses
by Kiddoftheyear on 2019/12/08 21:35
I would not be able to purchase a subscription based license -I had to give up Adobe because creative cloud- so in addition to having a good product/service, having a good payment service has been essential. I fear you are moving away from that model, which means I would have to start managing passwords differently.

1PASSWORD is A#1
by RobbieLH on 2019/12/08 16:18
This app has saved my bacon lots of times! I love how it integrates with the Safari app! In a world requiring stronger and stronger passwords, more frequent password changes, etc the 1Password app helps me to feel much more confident.
Great app
by msmolic on 2019/12/08 09:05
Amazing password app and secure location for personal and private data. However the cost is higher than ever and many of the group features requires you to log online and are not integrated features of the app. This can be frustrating. Also not really a great app for storing lots of documents or pictures as upload and storage is 1 file at a time.
Accessibility on 10 🤳🏼
by Cruuuuu on 2019/12/08 02:24
For this app to really thrive you must have it on every device. Once you have that instant access then let the cataloging begin. Has seriously streamlined so much personal and work related logins. The Touch ID also makes for a quick assist on iOS

by mikesnc on 2019/12/07 20:07
Can not import passwords and logins saved on iPad to 1Password. Each website and login has to be done individually. Would work great for newly created logins and passwords. Just plain overly complicated. Who has the time to fill and save 100s of passwords and logins individually. Doesn’t appear to be away to manually check or view passwords and logins.
Safe. Simple. Sexy password protection.
by Rafr1 on 2019/12/07 18:33
If you want a tool to help manage your growing number of log in user names , passwords, and accounts for banks , credit cards and investment funds then 1password is the answer. Easy to use. Pretty. Windows. Mac. iPhone. iPad. It works on them all. Sync up with Dropbox and more password rage. Try it. Buy it. Enjoy it.
Best password vault out there!
by John E. Quest on 2019/12/07 17:08
I have been using 1PASSWORD now for several years and have been totally satisfied. When changing to a new phone, using the backup function makes moving content a breeze. I currently have 85 passwords stored and am so glad that this app is available. There are so many sites that require you to establish an account, I don’t know how I would survive without 1PASSWORD!
Must have!

I have been using 1Password since 2012. I have tried a few others well. The capabilities of this software is simply the best. The autofill feature is excellent. The ability to sync multiple vaults makes the software feel customized for you. I highly recommend it!

December 2019 Update: Still absolutely awesome app. One of the most used on my Mac and iPhone. January 2015 Update: Still the best password managing app there is. After today's awesome new features update it got super best! I have been using 1Password on the Mac since 2008 and 1Password for iPhone for past 2 years. These apps are used DAILY! And they are the best at it! Awesome synchronization with Dropbox and iCloud. High praise to developers, the AgileBits team!!! You rock!

The most important app I must have on my computers and iOS devices
by frustrated12 on 2019/12/07 00:28
I’ve been using 1 password since 2012 and it is the first app I recommended to everyone for any device. I keep all my information in it so if anything happened to me tomorrow my kids would be able to get into all my accounts. I’ve given it as gifts even finally got my reluctant kids to use it themselves.

Tired of LastPass “quirkiness”?
by Epictetus of Nicopolis on 2019/12/06 13:25
I used LastPass over 15 years. I have been in IT for over30. I own a cyber security company. 1Password is much more polished, works as expected far more often, and increases productivity so much, it is a pleasure to use. Now with their significant outside investment, they are poised to be the market leader. Support is much better than LastPass, and development roadmap... we’ll, let’s just say they “have” a roadmap. Free is sometimes much worse than paid, and you and your company MUST be protected.
Changed my life
by nalexander50 on 2019/12/06 00:37
I’ve never been more secure! On top of that, AutoFill is more convenient than manually entering details. Win-win. Seriously, use 1Password.

Necessary, but can make the routine unnecessarily complex
by Kittypastele on 2019/12/05 15:10
So, we're stuck with passwords. One would think a key capability for a tool to manage passwords would be making that management easy. 1password has many things to recommend it, but ease of use is not on that list. I was moved to write this review after coming to the realization that I've been using the same password for the last few accounts I've opened because using 1password to generate a password and stay in the flow of account setup just ends up being an unnecessary frustration. How can it be more complex that clicking generate and pasting the new password? Or, as I am dealing with now, after updating a password yesterday, the password is available on the iOS app, but not from the CLI tool. How is that possible? I am sure there is an explanation, but this seems like something that should be dead simple.
Painful to use
by nicknsme-/:;()$&@" on 2019/12/05 10:33
You spend more time typing your master password than you do actually getting into your websites. You got the Windows plugin and app working why can’t you do the same here?
To expensive now
by Isynia on 2019/12/05 04:28
1Password is a great app, until they decided to make a monthly/yearly subscription plan. Having the pro option before was ideal but now this is just to much. Time to look for another password app.
Beginner instructions are unsatisfactory
by Judy Kotar on 2019/12/05 02:54
I have been using 1P since I purchased it about 6 years ago. I just subscribed and I can't use it the way I was familiar with. I hate typing my new long password every time I need one that I saved, and I can't figure out why the 1P won't fill in passwords for me automatically. I bought this iPad in March 2019; it's the best model other than the Pro. I took it back to the Apple store here in Spokane and they said since 1P is not an Apple product, they can't help me except if one of their staff happens to know about it, which no one did (?!).
Happy for years!
by LP Lighthouse on 2019/12/04 20:00
I’ve been using 1Password for many years, something like 7 years and I love the service. It’s easy to use, is multi platform and syncs well. I’ve recently noticed they have an option to show passwords in large font and it’s SO helpful when you need to transcribe a long complicated password.
Simple and Great

Does what it advertises. Amazing app. Works with all browsers, my phone and the family's equipment. By accident I contacted the support once and they got back at me within seconds.. Super friendly and professional! I bought the in app stuff mainly to support the company. If you need a one fits all solution for all your accounts - this is the one.

You’re frozen until you give me money!
by ScottH73 on 2019/12/03 20:58
I’ve used the app for quite a long time, almost 7 years. In the beginning, I decided to purchase the software which was not cheap. Now they froze the software and I cannot add or edit any of my information until I start paying them a monthly fee. This is just one more app wanting $3.99 a month. No thanks. I’ll copy the passwords and just use a note in my phone. $3.99 a month is a rip-off when most people will not use 1Password app on a daily basis or even weekly. It’s something you open when you cannot remember a password. I might use it once or twice a month at most.
Frustrating

I like this app. I have enough things to think about without having to remember every password and login name. It works with most of my apps and websites but I’m unsure how to get all of my information saved each time I make a new account or change passwords. I’m still trying to figure out all the things that can be done with this app but I do recommend it
Gets worse every update
by ScottytheMenace on 2019/12/03 02:44
Beware of this app if you use the desktop companion app. The iOS app is pretty good but, as bad as the desktop app has become, you should avoid them both like the plague. The desktop app used to be great but with v7 it’s gone downhill with every update. I’m trying out other password apps to replace this, which means my iOS and desktop apps will both change and my subscription will go elsewhere. I’m really upset about that because I used to hype this app to everyone. Not anymore. They’ve seriously lost their way. The desktop app now has a weird “it’s in the browser but not really in the browser” arrangement so you’re never actually sure where the password pane will show up and it often doesn’t even work in the browser at all. Then they added the idiotic half-dark-mode where half the app is dark mode no matter what you select in your Settings. Apparently the designer’s personal preference trumps the users’. It’s mind-boggling why they would completely ignore a stated preference selected by the user in settings. Unbelievable. Really sad how far this app has fallen.

Here’s why I like this one the most: - More types of entries (Login, Drivers License, SSID, Passports, Loyalty Program, Documents, etc.) - Clean, modern UI (Dashlane has a nice one too, but even LastPass’ “new” UI still looks and feels old) - Watchtower (Dashlane has a dashboard, that shows the health of your overall passwords and makes sure you’re bulletproof) - Family Account (LastPass has this too, but Dashlane doesn’t) - Travel Mode (no one else has this last I checked) - More widespread 2FA than the others - Can have multiple “Vaults” like I can have one for my work and a personal one so it doesn’t get mixed up (Dashlane and last time I used LastPass it didn’t have this) - Can Copy password from within browser add-on (for some reason Dashlane doesn’t have this, but you can with LastPass) So all in all, this one is my favorite after trying all 3 Feedback: - It would be great to be able to edit my “travel mode” from iPhone/iPad - View my watchtower from my iPhone/iPad app

Amazing

Keeps my password, logins and whatever other secure information encrypted and synced between my devices. I love that I can add a new password for some database at work in my iPhone and go home and already have the password on my Mac so I can easily continue working. It's also nice to know that every website you have an account with can have a different password and their all saved in a secure place.

Not Smart enough
by JOL on 2019/12/02 01:12
This is an interesting program, but despite 40 years of computer experience and an M.D. this program is too hard for me. The categories don't work well for me and OFTEN I try to do something simple..often on my iphone.. and find I cannot. Their idea of a user friendly interface assumes telepathic skills. My wife likes it (she's a lot smarter). If she and Wirecutter didn't rate it highly, I'd delete it.

Updating Settings idea
by GavmanXXX on 2019/12/01 21:40
You need to add through the settings a on off toggle to collectively search your whole library. Constantly find myself searching for the specific email or phrase and nothing shows up under the title but that’s because under the title on the Mobile application the phrase used would be email which makes that useless if your quickly search for the phrase on a list of 100 or so items. If you need more explanation please let me know. Thanks, Gavin E.

I love 1Password. I love that it makes it easy to create new logins, that I can get my logins everywhere, that it's integrated with iOS, and FaceID to unlock.
No key , no customer service.

I’ve bought the app for my in-laws . After paying 36$ for the year , we never could login because of a “ Secret Key” that they never gave us . After multiples email their solution ? Erase the account ( without being reimbursed of course) . Beware
Love it

Great technology, mediocre documentation
by WildlandPhotos on 2019/07/10 16:43
The pretty-looking docs would serve us far better if they concentrated on helping us to understand how 1Password works, and if in so doing they didn’t make a habit of committing the very common sin of skipping over the most basic parts of that explanation. Usually the people who build an application are so familiar with it that they’ve lost the ability to put themselves into the shoes of someone who isn’t. This family of programs is both very important in today’s living and quite complex and touching on many aspects of computer security, so clear, concise documentation aimed at arming us with the power to make wise choices about how we use it to secure a big part of our most precious data is simply vital. The underlying technology is steadily improving with respect to it’s organizational concepts, cleverness and information security. Before you begin to spend the time to create the contents of your main “vault” file with 1Password, be sure you get how it works, so you can avoid wasting a lot of time or risking loss of the login data that you’ll spend a lot of time setting up. But a great password manager is simply a necessity now and this continues to be the best of the lot, to the best of my knowledge.
Convenient, reliable, and peace of mind
by VAbxman on 2018/09/07 16:38
A safe haven for your passwords, account information, or just any valuable information for that matter. Accessed with one master password only YOU know and can remember easily, you’ll have an overview of ALL your inputed accounts or information with their respective passwords, PIN numbers, and security questions with answers. One of the great features of 1Password is that it can generate passwords for you if you so choose. You can set it up to where you can have 25 characters total with numbers and uppercase letters thrown into the mix (25 not being the max but you get the idea!) Absolutely a MUST have app for your phone if you have multiple online accounts. You ever sit there trying to get on an account you haven’t signed to in a while and you go through papers or whatever method you use to keep track of your passwords trying to desperately remember? Well look no further 1Password is here and all you got to do is open the app, type in the master password or use FaceID/TouchID, and boom! Tap on that password for the account you were just trying to access - COPY then bam! Paste that into the type bar and you’re good to go. No big deal, forget about it! Hope this review helps and honestly it really does give you peace of mind knowing you can create the most secure password with the most characters used, forget it, then simply access the app and there you have it just ready to be copied and pasted.
Don't know how I would function without it...My #1 most used tool
by Narmur19 on 2018/01/13 11:58
I've had 1password since they were sold as individual licenses and from Day 1 it's been the tool I rely on most heavily in my day to day tasks. I use it to store everything I might need to access to, from passwords to passport numbers. Form filling can be a bit spotty depending on the occasion and the 1browser could use more thinking through to be truly functional, but the ease of access and security can't be beat. I've tried out most of the competition, but I keep coming back to 1P for it's UI, number of data types supported and ease of integration into my daily task flow across all my devices. Maybe it's because I'm so familiar with how 1P operates, but the competition never really struck me as in the same league. I finally bit the bullet and signed up for the subscription service, and I don't regret it one bit. My biggest complaint with the single license version was the removal of the web access functionality, but now I have it back and it's better than it's ever been before, and I have instantaneous syncing across all my platforms to boot. 100% recommended to anyone that wants to stop worrying about online security and is willing to put the initial effort into migrating you're info in and filing it properly. If you can actually complete that you'll wonder why you went so long without it.
Great in almost all ways
by owndao on 2018/02/02 10:50
Yes, this app will not badger you to leave a review and that's a reflection of the outstanding professionalism of the people behind the scenes. I have never lost a single item stored with 1Password and it has saved me days of time by not having to reset a forgotten password. It has led the way since day one with the secure keychain concept and I trust it more than Apple's own late-for-the-show implementation of just a subset of what this app does with ease. Now if we could establish truly secure transport encryption and authentication at websites of the caliber of this product I'll be happy. This is the best money I've spent on any app, ever. The fingerprint unlocking has been fantastic but for some reason on iOS 11.3, 1Password, and 1Password only, is not providing the fingerprint unlocking option. It says that my fingerprints have changed (they had not) and I even went to setting to redo them all and 1Password, only, gives the same message when switched to allow fingerprint unlocking and when the app is launched, it allows for the master password only. I suspect that 1Password has stricter requirements for trusting fingerprints than other apps and that this iOS update is responsible. Otherwise the app performs great as usual. Even despite this I highly recommend this app and the people behind it. I fully expect the 1Password team to tell me how to fix this quickly.
Give it a chance, it’s worth the subscription
by GB45689 on 2019/10/04 11:53
I am a long time 1Password user (without looking it up 6-8 years). I, like a lot of other users, was not thrilled upon discovering the new subscription plan. Also I was concerned after reading some of the reviews about having to copy and paste to fill in login information. This is simply put, not the case! I find the functionality of 1Password 7 to be as good and in many cases better than prior versions. I use 1Password on iPhone, iPad, MacBook and occasionally on work or family members PC’s. 1Password has continually improved over the years and it is significantly better and more usable on iPhone and iPad than in the past. 1Password consistently comes out with updates, fixes and improvements. After using version 7, considering a cost benefit analysis and consideration of long term dependability and development, I am definitely willing to pay the monthly or annual fee. Please don’t rule out 1Password 7 without giving it a chance. Also it seems clear that 1Password is committed to great customer service. I have the family plan, and while I have never needed customer service, they were extremely helpful to my mom before I added her to my family. Also littered throughout the comments and reviews they consistently reach out to users and offer assistance.
Everything You Need
by Kening on 2017/09/21 05:48
I first got this app to generate new passwords, but this has become so much more. My entire life is being protected by this app. As I got older, even before that, there was no way I was going to remember the sheer voluminous number of passwords I was being required to use. Work, Bank accounts, Financial and retirement funds, online vendors. It started slow but as I found out how easy it was to use and how much more I could lock away (Driver licenses, social security accounts, and data for everyone in my family down to the last grandchild), I found my whole life is detailed in this one app. With the Equifax debacle possibly exposing us to what could be more information stolen than I could of imagined, I realized everything they had and more could be found in 1Password. So I wrote support for advice, but found in their webnotes that I'm safer on every level than I could have hoped for. Its like this team put all their own lives in here and said let's build a fort, then built a fort around that, and so on. The only way anyine is getting into this app and my information, is by finding where I have my Master Password hidden just in case. I know this review is too long, and I'm gushing, but again after Equifax, at last I can believe in something.
This App Stinks
by MrBrutalTruth on 2017/11/19 17:33
I hate to give bad ratings, but...I paid around $50 (yes!) to be able to access on pc and Mac and iOS. I have stuck with it because starting over would be a drag. But really...the functionality of this app is awful. You’re trying to add “notes” and the box won’t open (it keeps dropping down where you can’t get to it). If you don’t fill a sufficient # of boxes on a new entry it won’t let you save it. If you have a problem with accessing from another device or moving to a new device you end up with back and forth emails that go something like this “Hi. We love you. Update all of your devices and assemble them all in the same location and then email us back.” They just keep kicking the can back to you (no phone support). It’s unbelievably annoying. I just don’t even bother anymore. I just open and start a new password and put everything in the notes section (when I can get it to work-if you save and re-open it usually works the second time). And if you select the option to use your fingertip to open, it shows up on the screen and you have to tap that and THEN hit the home button. You can’t just go right to it. And sometimes it just randomly requires you to enter the actual password. I actually have my last two iPhones in a drawer because I’m terrified my passwords didn’t all move to the new device and I’ll be in trouble. Seriously, it shows I have like 314 passwords on the iPad version of the app and 322 in the iPhone version. Really?!
You must have 1Password to use the internet
by ductmonkey on 2019/10/05 12:39
1Password should be required for you to get a license to use the internet. If this were true most internet security problems would disappear. But it only works if you use it and use it properly. I’ve had a family account for about 5 years and this app completely secures both my business and personal life. I can’t say I use it daily, because I use it hourly. I read through some of the one star reviews to try and understand why someone would do that to 1Password. Looks to me that most were at fault for their own problems. 1Password can’t reset your password if you forget it, they don’t have it it’s YOUR password. And why on earth would they let you set the mobile app to be unlocked until the next time the phone is powered off? That’s insane! Your phone is the most public facing and easily stolen device you have. Oops! Someone just got access to ALL your passwords. You can’t fix stupid but I think 1Password is doing a pretty good job at securing its users precious information despite the users best efforts to the contrary. If you take password security seriously (as you should) purchase a subscription to 1Password, you won’t be disappointed.
Indispensable Tool in the Internet Age
by F Harvell on 2019/06/08 16:55
I have been using 1Password for several years and, quite frankly, it is the 1st application I load on any new computer or device. All of my internet account passwords are maintained by this application (and service) and the value provided by 1Password is genuine. All of my account passwords are 20+ random characters and every account has a different password. This is critical for cyber security and 1Password helps me do it. I have used 1Password on multiple iOS devices, macOS computers, and windows computers. Their syncing service is reliable and fast. The inherent encryption of the 1Password vaults (databases) helps keep all of my passwords safe. The ability to have multiple vaults and to share some vaults when using the family or team 1Password sync services also allows me to securely share information between my spouse and myself as well as with my kids. While I hate subscription models for applications that do not provide continuing services, 1Password does provide their robust syncing service along with excellent applications on the platforms they support. The cost for the service is reasonable and, at least for me and my family, one that we find valuable.
A must have app.
by Kittycam on 2018/01/31 20:59
I really mean it when I say this is an app everyone should have.. by using it I am able to keep a different and much more secure password for each account, which in this day and age is a necessity. Just think if someone were able to get one password and you shared it with all accounts.. definitely has the potential to become a nightmare situation. The only issues I have had with the app so far were: My fingerprint read incorrectly a few times and after too many failed attempts locked me out, which may not have been a big deal except I had forgotten my master password and until I was able to figure it out again I was locked out of the app and unable to get in to a few of my accounts which I didn’t remember the password for. This really was a good thing as it shows how secure the app is.. just don’t forget (or share) your master password! The other thing that bothered me was that I paid for pro services, and then when I cancelled the pro I continued to be billed for a long time until I had checked my statement and realized it. Aside from those things, this app is one of my most used. I’d give it five stars but the pro thing left a bad taste in my mouth.
I’d be lost without it
by Brex1278 on 2017/10/06 05:32
For years my password management consisted of a small brown book filled with random passwords, old usernames, a complete nightmare. It worked if I remembered to have it nearby to add info to it. But was useless in the long run. Not to mention completely lacking of any security. If someone got hold of that book..... Ever since I began using 1password my life feels more organized, safe, and in control. I ALWAYS have my phone, and 1Password is always there to help me securely protect the hundreds of credentials I use on a regular basis. Now when I get an alert to change an expiring password, I don’t break out in a cold sweat wondering what should I come up with for a strong password but not too difficult for me to remember, I actually look forward password creation!.. with this amazing app I can automatically create 20+ character passwords that I (or anyone else) would never in a million years recall. Best part is I know where all my “secret” stuff is located. And in case my phone blows up I have a back up in my Dropbox. I tell everyone I know to get and use 1Password so they too can be liberated from the mentally challenging world of secure log ins.
Won my family password manager “tournament”
by jameswilletts on 2019/04/20 22:51
Poked around the web for a pw manager for the fam, and it was down to 1Password, Keeper, Bitwarden, and RoboForm. RoboForm did not have a Watchtower feature, and Bitwarden did not have as many tutorial videos. 1Password barely squeaked by with the pin unlock feature, while Keeper only had a fingerprint unlock for speed (which I don’t like to use, but maybe I just need to take the tinfoil off my head). Get yourself a password manager! You’ll always be safer with than without, and you won’t know how you lived without it. 1Password is definitely the easiest, most visually appealing, and most accessible across platforms (work PC, Mac at home, iPhones) and tutorials. Why four stars? Keeper has a sort of secret keeper feature for someone to have access to your vault if you die. 1Password’s only answer to this feature is to print out YOUR master password and give it to someone (in our case, the godparents of our child), so if I change it or the godparents lose it, those social profiles will have to stay up forever, like some kind of morbid, digital vigil.
Terrific Product
by J7478953115890513690521690 on 2019/10/04 15:51
I’ve used 1Password since 2016 and have about 400 unique logins at this time. It’s a simple and intuitive product that can create and save complex, unique passwords. But it can also elevate to whatever your particular security concerns demand. If you want your passwords available on every browser you use, you can store your password vault with 1Password and use a browser extension. If you don’t want to store your vault with 1Password, you can store it on iCloud or Dropbox instead. If you don’t want your vault on the cloud at all, you can store it locally and sync it between devices whenever you want. I have not found this level of flexibility mixed with such a simple, functional interface in any other password manager. Without disparaging other products, they either all store your information on their servers by default or require significantly greater effort to keep your information local. I started with just a Mac trial and have since purchased a premium license on Mac, Windows and iOS. Simply put, it’s a great product that’s frequently updated. I can’t recommend another password manager more highly.
Wow!
by TheSocialGadfly on 2018/04/05 04:01
I've been pretty hesitant to take the plunge into using a password manager of any type. On some level, I just think it's lulling me into a false sense of security like Anti-virus programs. That being said, my memory just isn't what it used to be and so I did a lot of research and found 1Password so I thought I'd give it a shot. So far, I'm not at all disappointed. It stores IDs for me, logins, passwords, CC info, you name it, I use it within the app. I only recently bought my first iPhone and Apple for the most hasn't been in my life. So, one thing I wanted in a PW Manager was sync capability with my Windows laptop. Long and short of it, the two work well with each other so I purchased the full version for each. It initially took me some figuring out (I just down deep hate to read manuals), how to sync them, but once I integrated my Dropbox account it was a cinch. I'm still skeptical about the security of password managers, but I'm happier using one that does what I want. A last word for AgileBits. Please don't tinker with 1Password. When you have something that works, it doesn't need improvement, and I become loyal. Ball's in your court so don't screw it up.
Beyond exemplary customer service
by ReikistaSoy on 2018/03/01 13:53
I have loved this app mostly because it makes me feel safe and able to manage my innumerable passwords, but also for its ease of use. As often happens when starting to use a product, I wasn’t thinking of what would happen if I ran into trouble with it later. Luckily for me, their customer service is beyond exemplary. I have had little glitches (something I messed up) in the past, and they always helped quickly. But this time I had a headscratcher issue where the browser, the website server and virus protection met in a perfect storm, and the 1Password team, namely Tully, stuck with me and walked me through every step of the long troubleshooting way, their instructions always precise and detailed for the non-techie I am (even when referring to processes that weren’t directly related to their app). Clearly they did their research and put themselves in my shoes. I am deeply grateful. Without them, I would have given up AND been (mistakenly) panicked about the integrity of my data. I think this kind of customer service would make the app worth buying even if it weren’t as awesome as it is!
Great app but editing is terrible!
by Joyflute on 2017/11/05 02:55
This app is great for syncing your important data between your devices. But the editing is terrible! It was bad enough before the last update, but now it's nearly unusable. Previously you would have to hit the "edit" button to update unlike the Notes app. This was only a slight nuisance because it was difficult to enter anything in a specific spot in a longer file. Now it is nearly impossible to use because when you hit edit, it only shows you a tiny fraction ( perhaps two or three lines) of your entire file. This needs to be fixed to work more like the Notes app. Otherwise I may be forced to look for another password app. Update: 2 years later and they still haven’t fixed the lousy edit feature! I think I’m finally going to have to look for a new password manager, because now they’ve got new irritating problems. Sometimes now you can’t see the last line in your category until you hit edit, and the final straw was when I installed ios 11.1 and the app deleted itself and had to be reinstalled. I really don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. Curious, too, that these issues cropped up about the time they institute a subscription plan nobody really needs!
1Password is Simply The Best, Period
by Daniel O. on 2017/11/05 20:35
I have been using 1Password for Mac for no less than 7 years and still remember using the first 1Password app when it came out for iPhone (back before it was even called iOS). It was already good then and it’s become so much better over time. It has so many features and is so powerful as an app that I haven’t seen a legitimate competitor for it yet. AgileBits has been relentless in their improvement of the user experience over the years. One thing I really like is that they still give you control over your 1Password file if you want and don’t force you to use an unnecessary online service if you don’t want to, unlike competitors. For me, I prefer to have control and local copies of my 1Password vault and 1Password lets me do that. I constantly say that I pretty much couldn’t live without 1Password because I have a well over 100 logins that I would otherwise never be able to remember or have insecure passwords for to make it easier for me. If you’re reading this and still thinking about getting 1Password, just do it. You will not regret it!!
Thanks for nothing
by dinnykins on 2018/03/10 16:43
I had this app set up using touch ID so I wouldn’t have to try to remember all of my passwords while my brain was fuzzy during chemo. Unfortunately, chemo caused the skin on my fingertips to crack so touch ID wouldn’t work and I got locked out of my account. Now that my fingers are healed, I still can’t access the app because it disabled touch ID and I can’t remember the master password (kind of why I got the app in the first place, duh!). I’ve researched and it seems that there is no way to reset the master password. I hated the thought of being forced to start a new account since I’d lose all of the passwords that I had stored in the app, but realized that I had no choice so I just requested that it be disabled. I just got my bank statement and noticed I’m still being charged for this. The whole process is beyond frustrating! I’m upset that I lost all of those passwords, but even more upset that there seems to be no way to get you to stop charging me for this trap of an app. I tried to find a place for support and it all seems to be public forums where other users try to help you troubleshoot. What a load of crap! Do I have to change my bank account now to have you stop withdrawing money for an app I can’t use? Where is the support for this app? Why can’t the master password be reset? Ridiculous.
When you need the Very Best

After many, many OS updates, my no longer supported secure note saver app failed to load. Thankfully, my iPad hadn't updated yet so my backup copy of the date file was still available. Even so, I have hundreds of data records, and moving them all to another app was gonna be a nightmare. I played with a number of apps until I found this one! Building a new data base that can be accessed from any PC or IOS device was huge!! No endless hours of entering hundreds of records via an iPhone keypad! Even using a PC keyboard, it took most of two days to rebuild my base of secure data records and passwords. An update on any authorized device is Immediately seen on all other devices! This is great! And I've only touched the Basic features of this App!! Now I'm constantly looking for things to add! Insurance data, vehicle info and numbers, just about any piece of information you might need on a moments notice and the touch of a button. Looking for a very secure data saver, give the trial period a shot; I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Impressively Easy & Secure
by PresidentGmAN_ on 2018/11/02 01:38
A friend suggested I give 1Password a try after complaining about trying to remember different passwords and security questions, images, the bouncing numbers maybe capitalized maybe not and my favorite the click on the boxes that “have a wheel or car or sign”. I purchased 1 year for around $79 or $99 a year or two ago. First thing first, down load the app extension on your devices. For me that meant, app on iPhone, MacBook, surface pro, and Dell. I added the extension to Safari and chrome. I was curious to see how the app worked, so on my iPhone within the 1password app Facebook was the first website I tried. I entered the information into the app. Saved it. Then looked on all of the devices and Facebook info. Was there. Not sure if this helps but I HIGHLY suggest you try it. It has helped me and my family so much. I helped my mother and father (60’s) organize their stuff and if something happens no one knew where to find. And of course my kids loved the idea of Dad having their passwords LoL. But they have mine so it helped build trust. Good luck
An essential utility, works very reliably
by RBDelaware on 2017/12/18 22:52
I’ve been a many-years user of 1Password. Use it every day, many times, on several devices including a desktop, laptop, iPads and iPhones. The app works very reliably (it has NEVER -in years- failed to provide ready access to my hundreds of passwords, logins, servers, secure notes, etc). The interface has improved over the years, and it’s now, mostly, intuitive. The “multiple vaults” feature seems superfluous to me (can’t think how it might be useful), but doesn’t get in the way. Search is quick, but not “instant” (with 400+ entries). The password generator works very well and is very useful. The interface with multiple browsers, too, works very well (though not flawlessly) with Safari and Firefox. (There are sometimes “hesitations” there, which probably are related to the browsers’ handling of extensions.) I resent the “subscription” pay model, but since this is, indeed, an essential, everyday utility for me, I think the cost is reasonable, on balance. (I’d prefer to make my own decision about when to pay for a new version.)
so much potential, so often frustrating
by stevenspeilburg1112 on 2018/12/25 18:29
1. why can’t we have the option to not auto-unlock on exit (until the phone resets) like we do on the Mac? why on earth do you frustratingly limit it to one hour? FaceID is still extremely slow, but also extremely secure. much more secure than the password I have on my mac. So doing it over and over again - as often as 12 times a day when I’m at work - AFTER I’ve already logged into my phone - is absolutely ridiculous. Please give power-users more flexibility. The WHOLE POINT of using 1Password, IMO, is having total flexibility over all my authentication tools and integrating them as seamlessly as possible into my workflow. 2. 1Password fails dramatically when it comes to url-checking, which, in some ways, is okay. It’s not an easy problem when websites have ridiculous authentication schemes/URLS across origins. So why then does the UI for the iOS12 PW integration only show me whatever matches the URL. No search? Seriously? I have to then open 1Password, FaceID AGAIN, and start the whole process over again. Painfully slow. The extra star is because it’s beautifully designed and has the right foundation. But right now, it’s so, so, so frustratingly slow.
Forgetting their customer roots

In the past I had a good amount of respect for 1password. I had tried other programs, yet 1password seemed to stay ahead of the pack in maintaining state-of-the-art. In the latest release, though, the desktop version has an incredibly annoying alert that this or that password is duplicated in other contexts -1password support confirms that the annoying alert cannot be removed. Their response to me and others was basically they are the best judge of proper security measures and indeed I should eliminate my duplicate passwords. No empathy, no imagination that I might have an rationale behind my process, just an insistence that their user base should view the permanent intrusion as a feature. My tough luck. I should have seen what was coming when they introduced, unannounced, the method of returning to their browser from their items screen by touching between two icons in the lower navigation bar -very non intuitive and archaic for an advanced app developer. My conclusion is that 1password has grown to be a “big” company: it feels as though the developers are preparing the app to be sold to Google or Microsoft or....
Awesome Password Manager with great support
by DaphneD on 2018/10/12 04:34
Been using 1Password for a long time. Used to have a glowing review here, but there are enough of those. So instead going to give a shout out to their support forums. Not only does this app do a great job of managing my passwords, but they are very proactive in dealing with customer concerns, security issues, etc. at their support forums. When security issues arise with password managers they tend to post honest details about the problems. They seem to listen to feedback, have made details about how the password database is stores publicly available, so external security researches can double check on it. It’s well and good to talk about how well a password manager functions, but the important stuff is under the hood and hard for most people to tell how secure it actually is. AgileBits does a great job of addressing those concerns. So yes, the password manager has lots of cool useful features, but those are just icing. The underlying security models and the well handled support forums are why I rate this 5 stars.
Awesome product from an awesome company
by assault_is_eternal on 2018/09/18 19:25
This isn’t a review of 1password, per se. It’s an awesome product, I’ve been using it for years, and I love it. This is more of a review of the company itself. As you may know, Apple introduced a new feature in iOS 12 that allows you to use an app like 1Password in place of (or in conjunction with) Keychain. So no more leaving an app to launch 1password, copy the password, then relaunch the app to paste the password. It’s the biggest improvement since the share feature was introduced. To be fair, though, it’s just because Apple decided to loosen the reins a little bit. However, 1password had to be tweaked to take advantage of this new ability. They could have forced us to switch to a subscription plan in order to take advantage of this ability. But they didn’t; they gave it has a free update. I didn’t upgrade to the latest stand-alone version of 1Password on my Mac when it came out. But I have now, out of respect for this company. Thank you for this wonderful update!
Amazing for peace of mind

As far as I understand, I’ve been using 1Password for probably over a decade now, since my dad introduced it to me when I first started needing to enhance my online security. From what I love about the app is the constant synchronization between my computers, my iPad, and my phone. It’s just so simple! And with iOS 11, they added drag an drop? They just keep adding more and more features to keep it fresh and usable. I try to imagine what it would be like if the app was the same app from many years ago when the only online syncing option was through Dropbox.... now everything is in iCloud for me. My one issue is something more of an issue that I think iOS restricts, and that’s to allow 1Password access to keyboards to use usernames and passwords in other apps on the phone. With the new side loading multitasking in iOS 11, the iPad experience is great, but on the phone, it’s still somewhat annoying to double tap to switch between apps etc. Still, it’s always my recommended password manager to everyone I know.
Couldn’t manage SAFE AND EASY INTERNET BROWSING without 1Password
by mjbuzzy on 2018/07/21 09:41
I have used this app since its inception, many years ago. I was so lucky to stumble upon this, somewhat unknown app, then. It has become a very popular app since that time and there are plenty of reasons why this is so. It has become the cornerstone in my ability to browse the web in a very safe manner. I use many sites, each with its own password (for MY security, I don’t duplicate). I could NEVER remember all of them, and 1Password has never failed me in my ability to navigate each and every login during my day and also assisting me in creating safe logins (which, again, I don’t need to remember) for both the Mac OS and IOS. I can not speak highly enough of this app. They are constantly updating it to offer better way for the app to work and assist me in my task of logging into and working with various sites. I understand there are other password apps out there, but this app has, over many years, consistently lived up to its hype.
I paid. I saw. I left.
by SeeSticks on 2018/01/21 01:37
I too already paid this company for both their iOS and desktop machine version to run. I liked the app a lot. I normally would not give an app 1 Star for doing just about anything. The problem is that this company did the ONE & only problem which was to completely screw over their customers & business model. I’ve already been screwed by all too many Software as a Service companies using this stupid model to just way overcharge customers. This app is not worth the money that they are indefinitely asking me & every user to pay on anever ending basis. You NEVER. Actually own their app. Instead you just pay for it every month for the rest of your life. Software and versions used to make sense. You buy it & then you keep it. It was yours because well, you paid for it. Now once you start using this, they know they have their hooks deep in you & that you are generally screwed and can’t stop paying their monthly ransom-payment ever. You pay and pay for an unknown amount of work that they might or might not do. And you never own any of it. That is deserving of a 1 Star rating. The App Store never should have let subscriptions like this app take advantage of into the App Store. It was a giant mistake.
Absolutely Great. Get Organized.
by Albie56 on 2018/09/22 02:14
I’ve been using this app for several years and it has really increased the security of my online accounts by having unique and strong passwords for all accounts. No more resetting my password every time I want to log into a rarely used account. I’ve had it long enough that I have now built a collection of hundreds of passwords and they’re all up to date, unique and secure. I’m still holding off on the subscription service, I back up to iCloud and it has always synced my several iOS devices and iMac perfectly. If I update a password on one iPhone the other iPhone or iPad will reflect that instantly. They also offer a great security white paper which is actually fun to read. I really wish they would have utilized the Cloud Kit Share function to share a vault with my wife via iCloud. This can still be done by syncing thru Dropbox instead of iCloud but I trust iCloud with my encrypted vault more than Dropbox. If you’re really paranoid, you can backup via WiFi to you Mac. This app is nearly perfect. Developers: please do not force your Premium Purchase members into your subscription service, I’d probably give the system up. I’d gladly pay again during a major update. Despite your incredible security I’m just not ready to have my data on your AWS servers. Get this app, it will literally change your life in many ways if you’re diligent in keeping it updated, which is easy because it’ll prompt you on MacOS.
Still the best and plays nice across all platforms
by Largefeet on 2019/06/06 20:17
Started using this maybe 10 ish years ago because my memory sucked then and hasn’t gotten any better. After years of use now, I’ve seen the app evolve and just keep getting better. Although everyone is finally giving security the attention it deserves...this app has always been on top and is being updated constantly. Some of the integrated ones are good, but I still have this app as my main password type app as it does so much more and can be integrated everywhere since it doesn’t play favorites...don’t get me wrong...the others are nice respectively and I do use them just in case. But it just seems to me the flexibility, compatibility, updates, and constant attention 1Password offers sets it aside from others. My only gripe is I wish there was a one time purchase option as in the past. ...”subscriptions” drive me nuts...I get it from the Dev side and $ side but uhhhgggg! Keep up the good work guys....GUI and themes please!
Great app but I need better printing capability
by Redbaron747 on 2018/12/01 15:58
This is the best app I know for the purpose at hand and have recommended it to many of my friends. However I need to be able to print every so often all my info of passwords in Password1 on paper (not just individually each one on one page but continuously all of them in alphabetical order) for safekeeping in case something happens to the hardware software or to myself and all this crucial information in digital format is suddenly lost or no longer accessible. Currently I solve this problem by maintaining another safe spreadsheet with the same info as a backup that I can print every so often and keep in my safety deposit box. This is of course a wasteful, time consuming, and possibly unreliable (requiring two separate manual entries) duplication I would like to avoid if I could just print all at once all that I have stored in Password1. Wolf Bender PS: I had recommended this before several years ago but no update has so far I know made available this capability.
The best password app no more
by R64357 on 2019/10/06 05:53
Long time user, I purchased this app early on. The main feature was security. The safe was stored locally only and therefore no concerns for cloud security. It costs a few bucks if I recall and that was a good value. The option to use cloud (iCloud, Dropbox, etc) was always an available feature...nice for users seeking to sync their password safe to other devices...but like many I prefer to keep it offline for security. I recently recommended this app to a friend but when they installed it, the option to purchase the app was no longer available. It is now a monthly subscription only. The option for local storage was removed. After some negative reviews, local storage was quietly returned as an feature, but the monthly subscription is still required. As an early adopter, I am apparently grandfathered in, but I have switched to another password app that stores locally by default. A shame, because this was once a five star app, hands down. Suggestion to developers: sell the app outright like you used to and store the database locally by default. For those users that do trust their passwords in the cloud, offer the sync service for an extra charge as an in app purchase.
Best password manager
by Simdude on 2019/09/27 13:05
After LastPass has issues with 13.1, I decided to give 1 password a try. So glad I did. They make it simple to pull in your data from LastPass and their app is so much more polished. The overall layout and dark mode support are fantastic. Keep up the good work! I also want to add there is a lot of misinformation in many of the reviews. You will not lose access to your passwords if you cancel your subscription. You will simply have read only access. As far as price they are competitive with other password managers. I hate subscriptions as much as many but would add a developer myself I will tell you it’s not easy to keep a sustainable software business but only selling fixed licenses. The App Store is far to crowded now. Would you rather the company goes bankrupt and you lose a great app? If you want to save some money buy iTunes cards at Costco when they are on sale or use coin Star to use change lying around to add to your account.
Outstanding Password Security
by Bernfrin on 2018/07/12 10:55
I have spent more money on password managers than I care to admit. 1Password was not the last password manager that I purchased, but it is the one I keep returning to. I love the fact that I can add or change a password on my desktop/iPhone or iPad and the changes automatically sync to my other devices. The software is outstanding and the support when needed is outstanding. Don't waste your money trying a bunch of different password managers like I have. Buy 1Password and you won't be disappointed. 1Password 7 for Windows was recently released the software is good, the design is terrible and customer service leaves much to be desired. The developers thought it would be a good idea to have constant harassing messages telling you your password is weak or your website isn’t secure because it isn’t https://. When I commented that I didn’t appreciate the software being “nanny state software” nor did I appreciate constant “in your face harassing software”, I was belittled and insulted by “customer service” personnel on the user forum. 1Password used to be fairly good. Now I would avoid, and I would not recommend to anyone.
Best pw manager hands down !
by GrlyQ on 2018/10/16 14:58
I’ve been using for years I don’t even remember when I first started it’s been that long I’m a paid member and I will always be. I love the ease quickness Face ID adding notes admin pws soc sec credit cards just everything so much I can’t even list. It keeps you up to date notifies you of overuse or time to change if need be your pw and it’s always ALWAYS kept up to date. The uix is the nicest of all the password managers the developers are right there when you neeed them and every update is better than the previous. I see some reviewers with low stars saying stuff like you have to fill all the lines or you can’t save your pw not true or they press notes and it doesn’t open etc and I’m telling you that’s simply not true and Face ID is super quick. I’m assuming they must not be using it correctly somehow which is crazy bc it’s so simple I have on all my devices iPad Pro Mac Pro and Xs max I can’t live without it. Thank you so much for all you do!
Nothing else comes close

I miss the built-in browser and hate that some apps are trying to push Apple’s keychain instead now (more so than before), but it’s still the best password manager out there, imo. I used to work for a cyber security company as a developer, where I became increasing paranoid 😂, and I trust it. Having said that, a good password manager is only one part of a strong security plan. Make sure your hard drives are always encrypted on your laptop, limit sharing locations, only upgrade software immediately when you know it has a security fix (sometimes there is a vulnerability in new versions), and a bunch of other stuff you can do. Finally, be very careful with your master password! Devs don’t bother you with requesting reviews, it’s quite organized and has many useful security features. Never is laggy or glitchy. Sync seems to work well. Seems a great app and company. Been using it for several years now and can highly recommend it.

Really enjoying the concept that I may master the password mayhem, thanks to your app soon! Biggest obstacle for me now is conceptualizing how iPhone keychain passwords and IPassword mesh. When I click on that key icon, I am offered several options to retrieve a password once I have entered my user name on a given site. Randomly select which option right now. In addition, I have no idea how to get my correct password for my Home Depot online account. No option I click on seems to be correct and to make matters worse, “Home Depot” word is always on my phone screen, along with “Apple ID” - how I deposited these two accounts to this special status is a complete mystery to me... and not even useful as I cannot still (type or Touch ID) my Home Depot info from iPassword home screen onto the Home Depot log on. PLEASE HELP! I am afraid to explore and click on the “ Apple ID “ also displayed on my iPassword home screen (iPassword or 1Password?) Thx
UNBELIEVABLY UNRELIABLE

I Left my only review last year or the year before because i am a customer for maybe 10 years and haven not only paid the expensive price back then for the Mac license, when the IOS came i bought it and have been blindly relying on keeping all my extremely important information for all these years, thinking Dave Teare was a serious developer taking the importance of your data safe and reliable not disappearing and take your protected passwords seriousness as they are to you. But !!! I HAVE SPENT PROBABLY A WEEK trying to fix the Upgrade from version 6 to 7 as the upgrades i have all automated. Now after a week and maybe a month of no passwords or logins after upgrade i see they decided to charge a monthly MEMBERSHIP !!!!!!!!! NO WARNING NO NOTHING, I HAVE LICENSE ACTUALLY 2 LICENSES AS I PURCHASED A SECOND ONE UNKNOWINGLY THINKING I NEEDED TO BACK ON VERSION 4, BUT THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE A CUSTOMER CAN HAVE ON YOUR DATA THAT WHAT THE APP IS SUPPOSED TO DO IS ALLOW YOU TO FORGET YOUR LOGINS AND PASSWORDS. DON’T PAY FOR THIS LACK OF DECENCY ,UNRELIABLE APP ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY AND THEY MAKE IT OBVIOUS. A WARNING AND A DECENT UPGRADE PRICE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. NOW I WILL KEEP MY INFORMATION OUT OF ANY OF THIS APPS THAT NEVER WORK, TRYING TO KEEP YOU TIED IN A MEMBERSHIP AS IF IT WAS A SERVICE.
Very intuitive and amazing synchronization across devices
by joeroyce on 2018/07/20 05:51
I’ve been using 1Password across Apple (MacBook, iPad, and iPhone) and also have a separate vault for work where I use Windows. These all sync together so well through the 1Password service. I work in the software development industry so I can be very picky about applications and their flaws. I have absolutely no complaints about 1Password. Their customer service is also outstanding and very responsive. (I had a critical issue I needed assistance with and they were available over the weekend to support!) I absolutely love the way the developers have integrated multi-factor authentication with the application. It makes it such a painless process by automatically filling security codes, especially on the desktop version. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for iOS 12 since Apple should be allowing developers easier integration for password management. Keep up the great work!
Excellent, safe password vault!
by JASguy2006 on 2017/11/03 01:57
I’ve used 1Password for several years, first as a standalone app. I recently upgraded to the subscription based version, in order to allow family members to use it as well. This app has always been solid, bug-free, and fairly quick. The developers are continually improving it. When I first started using, it was just an app I used on my iPhone and iPad. Well, there is an online version that allows you to edit passwords, etc. on a computer. This is very convenient! Customer service is incredible! When transitioning to the new version, I submitted several questions via email and received personalized responses almost immediately. I am sure I only use a fraction of the many functions of this app (mainly to save and recall login and password info), but 1Password does everything I need. I can’t say enough good things about it. Easily worth the cost! recommended without reservation.
Best software for an insecure world

NEW 2018: I still wish this app had the browser access, but they have given the ability to decrease the “recent” list to 0, restoring a true “Favorites” tab, so kicking it back up to 5 stars. OLD REVIEW: My original review still stands. Love this pw manager, and use it ALL the time. I downed this review by one star only for the following: Favorites tab now shows “recents” which confuses why I would favorite certain logins. Restore to just a list of favorites plz. Biggest headache is having access to the web browser gone. Why take it away? If I background the app briefly, the app returns without the browser showing. It also is not accessible from the main screen anymore, forcing me to select a login to get back to the browser window. It *seems* I could swipe up to get to the browser, but since I have the iPhone X, that swipe is now used for getting to the home screen of my phone. Please return the browser button as this has made this app nearly unusable as a browser (which I use frequently). ORIGINAL: I decided to start using 1Password after the heart bleed issue, and I honestly can say it has been awesome since day one. Now on iOS 8, there are so many awesome upgrades. I've never had a problem with syncing either. The best new feature is the TouchID support. If you don't use a password manager, 1Password should be your only consideration.
Time to write a review.

My password situation was a mess so I started up with 1P for Mac 4 years ago. I started slow with only a few logins for a while just to get the hang of it. I stuck with it using more and more 1P features, then I branched out to IOS as well. I can’t compare 1P with others apps because I never tried them. I’ve learned that 1P really “manages” all my logins and other data very well. To me, storing passwords is one thing, but to manage all that data is another. The more passwords/data I stored the more I needed the management piece, and I realized I had a lot more logins to enter than I ever thought. Now Apple and 1P work together in IOS so that you can choose between Keychain or 1Password for websites and apps. Some unique advantages here for 1P users. I have many apps, but only 5 that I consider real game changers, apps with “payback”. If you put some time in to it, you will be paid back many times over.
You Want 1 Password!!
by David Colin22 on 2018/12/04 00:02
This App is so well designed, efficient, smooth and rock solid secure. It performs exactly as described and you can be up and running in a relatively short amount of time. I started with the most important/frequently used log ins. There are just a few left to go and then everything I do on the internet will be accessible from within this App. If this sounds too good to be true, or you think you don't have the time, you will be missing out on one of, if not the single most important Apps available. If you're downright lazy, it's okay. It only takes a quick read after downloading and you're on your way to a safer, more secure and much EASIER way of life. Just be absolutely certain that the 1 Password you create is the one you write down, at least until it becomes 2nd nature, which it will because it's the only one you'll ever need again. Amazing App!
Truly a fabulous app
by lipstickl3ss on 2018/10/16 12:34
Has simplified my life. After laughing with my friends that all of my passwords are the same, one approached me and told me to get my cyber-life together and get this app. I bought a license almost immediately and haven’t looked back. Really easy to use, nice and clean design, no pop ups about ratings which I LOVE. Password suggestions have been really helpful. Apple does the same thing, but I have always worried about storing my passwords that way. I can use 1P to autofill passwords just like keychain, so i don’t have to worry about that anymore! Last thing, don’t be like me and just settle for the license (or forget to back up your phone). I lost my device contents and never backed up my phone which meant... i lost my dozens of randomly generated impossible to remember passwords... buy the subscription and save yourself the trouble!! or back up each time you enter a new password. choice is yours. :)
From Plaintext ... to Ciphertext - A success!

I love this App. My wife loves this App. My friends love this App. I rarely review Apps but I will say 5-stars to this. Having been in the military, operational security was engrained in my head. This trait failed to depart from me when I left the service. As a result, when I see people writing passwords down in their little notebook, or picking simple passwords with cues closely related to their own lives it drives me nuts. Then, I found that my wife was storing all her usernames and passwords in Notes! Agh! Then the hunt was on and I found 1password. Since then, all my personal passwords and information that requires protection but also needs to be readily accessible, has been stored in 1password. When we get a new computer or device, adding 1password is easy! No servers to setup or variety of secret and public keys to finagle with! I have even found myself generating complex passwords and making new passwords for each and every account. Admittedly, I never did this before. Lastly, I have recommended this app to my friends and have only gotten positive feedback. I also bought the subscription for 1password and those benefits are definitely worth the cost. I’d much rather pay $36 a year than get hacked because I committed one of the many security failures people commit every day. 1password instills good password practices in the user, and its a beautiful app to boot.
Best app ever
by mikealpharomeo on 2018/07/22 07:40
I have relied on 1Password almost daily since I purchased the app back in early 2013. I would be lost without it. I now posses close to 300 passwords within the app. I would literally cry if I ever lost this data. I couldn’t live without this app, literally! This review is over five years overdue. It allows you to easily create a secure password with its amazing password generator. It allows you to log into websites that require your password within the app with its built in browser. It fills in data for you at websites with a few clicks. Love this app. I’m telling you, if I ever had to get a new phone and were unable to restore my 1Password on my new phone I would literally fly to the Canadian headquarters for help restoring my account! I could probably live without my smart phone if I ever had to. I literally could not live without my 1Password! Sorry I never found the time to review this app until today.

If I were to boil down the two best use-cases for 1Password, they would be: - Someone who needs their passwords in multiple browsers - Someone who needs to share passwords (e.g, spouses) I’d still argue that iCloud Keychain is the best for one-person, one-browser use. But my wife and I have plenty of shared accounts and iCloud Keychain makes it hard to (a) share passwords and (b) rotate your passwords if you’re sharing them. I’ve used LastPass, personally and at work, and 1Password is a no-brainer if you’re picking between the two for personal/family use. A couple final notes: - If you like nice and well-crafted experiences, 1Password does not disappoint. - 1Password offered the ability to gift a free year of your plan to anyone you choose during Thanksgiving. It was delivered through a wonderful email from the 1Password founder giving thanks for all the customers over the years. It endeared me greatly to the product and I sent it to a friend who switched his family to 1Password from LastPass (they’re loving it). - I also store things like my gym lock combination and driver’s license on 1Password (stuff like that is very useful for spouses filling out shared paperwork and whatnot). This is the longest review I’ve ever written and it’s because I think so highly of the service. If you’re in need of an iCloud Keychain replacement, there’s no better choice.
Highly recommend

1Password is a tool that I recommend to anyone looking to add convenience or security to their life. With a password manager there’s no need to remember your passwords. When you get locked out of an account it doesn’t matter if you know your password or not. With a password manager you can have a password generated for you which means 1). It’s automatically saved in the app and 2). It’s incredibly secure (basically looks like you slammed a bunch of keys on the keyboard). If a website requires a minimum or maximum number of characters, upper or lower case letters, numerals, etc. you can set those requirements in 1Password. When I set up 1Password I saved all of my passwords and reset them. Now no matter the device I’m using I can instantly access my passwords and automatically save the new ones. This is a huge time saver and gives peace of mind. Everyone should use a password manager
Best software I ever purchased

I have always been good about using different and adequate passwords. However my previous solution was just copying and pasting from a text document. Using a hotkey to autofill is much easier, and the app is storing them in a much more secure manner than my old text document. Not to mention the sync between devices, custom fields, a place to enter notes, categories, tags, password history. The Watchtower alerts about vulnerable sites are crucial with the daily discovery of another hacked company. When the Heartbleed vulnerabilty was rampant, I had one place to see all the sites where I needed to change my password. The company seems to be run by great people who give great support, and are frequently releasing updates to add enhancements and resolve issues. The price is more than worth what you could lose if you get hacked due to easy/re-used passwords.

Essential
by TheresainAK on 2019/12/13 02:50
1Password is essential to my workflow on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I probably use 1Password ten times a day, across four different platforms. While there is a learning curve to any password manager, it quickly becomes intuitive and seamless. Don’t go another day without it.

Absolutely the best!

Thanks, keep up the great work!

by Missybean13 on 2019/12/10 16:45
I am so glad I decided to get this app.

Love it

Impossible to give 0 stars
by ygdgrd on 2019/12/09 16:45
Clunky, confusing, self - contradictory. If you try to generate new passwords for an existing account, this thing will take you to a vast wasteland of sites with unknown passwords. I’m sure it’s generating SOMETHING, but nothing you can find or use. Worse, if you’ve been using iCloud Keychain in the past, you can’t turn it off, or you won’t be able to log into existing sites. But with it on, you can’t use 1Password. Waste of time and money.

I’ve been using 1Password for about 5-years and love it. Was a dedicated RoboForm user for many years but have found 1Password to be easier to use, especially on Apple devices. You won’t go wrong using this and it syncs so easily that I never have to worry about it being current across the three devices I use it on.

by Kiddoftheyear on 2019/12/08 21:35
I would not be able to purchase a subscription based license -I had to give up Adobe because creative cloud- so in addition to having a good product/service, having a good payment service has been essential. I fear you are moving away from that model, which means I would have to start managing passwords differently.

Great app
by msmolic on 2019/12/08 09:05
Amazing password app and secure location for personal and private data.

I’ve been using 1Password for many years, something like 7 years and I love the service. It’s easy to use, is multi platform and syncs well. I’ve recently noticed they have an option to show passwords in large font and it’s SO helpful when you need to transcribe a long complicated password.
