Sat Seeker ISS Tracker
Description
** Featured on ITV's This Morning ** ** Top 15 app in UK App Store ** ** No.1 Reference app in UK App Store ** Did you know that several times every day a space craft the size of a football field passes overhead at over 17,000mph? …and that it’s easily seen with your own eyes with no special equipment? …and that Sat Seeker will show you exactly when you can see it and will notify you of passes precisely for you and your location? If you didn’t know about one or more of the above what are you waiting for?! The international space station is the largest man made satellite ever built and it can regularly be easily seen from your home! All you need are cloudless skies when a visible pass occurs and Sat Seeker to show you when and where to look. Keeping track of when the space station is visible isn’t practical to do manually. Throughout the year for most inhabited areas of earth there will be periods of a week or two when the space station will be visible daily. In between these visible ‘runs’ there can be a break of visible passes for a period of several weeks. You don’t want to have to manually monitor when passes are due to occur next so Sat Seeker calculates precise pass details based on your location and then notifies you automatically. Shortly before an upcoming pass Sat Seeker displays a notification so you will never miss a visible pass if you fail to check upcoming pass times. When you've witnessed a visible pass of the ISS it's an experience you will want to repeat again and again. Don’t waste any time. Get the app now and see when the next pass is happening where you are. It could be this evening Can I see it? —————— Most people will have no problems seeing the ISS when it makes a visible pass with nothing more than the naked eye. You're looking for a bright object that looks just like a very bright star moving steadily across the sky. Sat Seeker gives a clear indication of which passes are visible. Be patient, due to changes in the earth’s position and the ISS orbit sometimes your location won't have a visible pass for a week or two but they will come back around. Features ————— * Automatic notifications of passes as they are about to begin * Current ISS position and orbital path overlaid on world map * Precise pass timings for your location * Precise details of ISS positioning throughout each pass including when the visible portion begins and ends * Augmented reality view for each pass. Tap the camera button on the pass details screen to load the AR view. Point the phone towards to horizon to see the ISS position and path overlaid over the camera view Are you still reading? If you’ve made it this far then maybe you still have doubts…would it help if I said that on rare occasions you can also see ISS passes followed shortly by visiting spacecraft such as the the SpaceX Dragon? Visible occurrences of these passes are much rarer but we try to announce these on our social media channels. Follow/like us there too! How do I reset app to my current location?
Notification issues
by Billk77 on 2016/12/17 09:01
When the app is opened and the push notification is tapped to set up, it says "push notifications failed to load. Check network connections" I've tried doing this over cell data and wifi. And yes, my location is on and the app has permissions to use it.
Not worth it

Great app
by Stefan Goodspeed on 2016/06/12 21:45
I would give this app 5 stars, I would. But I have a funny suggestion for the developer... - When the notification of a fly by alerts the user it makes a jet noise or fly-by noise. The space station is in space.. So it would not be making that noise! Hahah other than that, awesome app.
Best application to view the ISS
by Wbritt on 2016/06/02 02:41
I have tried numerous programs to view the space station and this is the best. It isn't a program to see the stars or planets, it is to see the ISS fly across the sky. Notifications can be set to let you know when a pass is happening. I've seen the ISS fly over hundreds of times and I still get excited each time.

by The Real Matt Adams on 2015/09/25 11:45
I set the app to alert me to all visible flyovers and it worked perfectly! You can set and reset your location easily. By holding your IPhone up, you can easily identify and follow the ISS across the sky. My only wish would be for more visible flyovers, but that's not the apps problem.
Not worth the money!
by #We on 2014/12/20 00:49
Only correctly located in sky one time. I can turn off the app half way threw a pass then restart it and it shows the location of the ISS in a completely different place. I am very unhappy with the functionality of this app.

What happened?
by Ggpity on 2014/10/22 09:16
I've had this app for over a year and loved it. HOWEVER, around the same time as the IOS 8 update, it stopped working. Specifically, the "watch pass" function where you look through an artificial horizon to track where the ISS will appear, stopped working. This is what separated this app from other astronomy apps. When this is fixed, i will rate the app 5 stars again.
Not for me
by Wibba on 2014/10/12 11:52
I've deleted this app. The alerts that the ISS will be visible within minutes are incorrect. Incorrect as in the orbit is not over my part of the world, according to the app's map and according to two other much more accurate tracking programs.

I just saw a great view of the ISS passing by. First it is good to have an application do a useful job and second there is excitement seeing a man-made object flying through space. Enhancements could be added but this version is valuable as is.

Whoever made this program struck gold. This is a wonderful utility for viewing the ISS. I used it early this morning at around 1:53 am, about five minutes before that, I went outside, turned the viewing tracker on, turned to the direction I would see it (NW to SE), the horizon line came up on the screen, as did the line of the orbit above that, then all of a sudden a marker came in view on the orbit line saying "ISS", right on schedule and sure enough, it cleared a line of trees in front of me and there it was streaking across the sky, it was a beautiful sight. This App is 100% accurate and works perfectly for me. Good job....no....GREAT JOB!
awesome app!!!
by Krazygal119 on 2014/04/25 04:55
I am an employee at the US space and rocket center in Huntsville, Al and thanks to to this app we had hundreds of kids outside watching the space station fly over our heads one night. AWESOME APP! It worked perfectly :)

Awful
by Tarzan Ferrari on 2013/10/08 22:41
I feel like a dope for buying this. It shows the current location and path of the ISS. It will show you when there will be visible passes of the ISS over your location. That's all. It does NONE of the other things it claims it can do. Now I'm going to find out if iTunes will give me a refund. Or maybe I'll just leave this wreck of an app on here to remind me of how much of a sucker I was.
Great app

Been using this app for 5 months now. I've seen the ISS multiple times and the iOS 7 update looks good.

Annual Camping trip with the guys. Was able to download the app on my iPad. A clear night and we saw the ISS come past two times that night. I asked the designer if it will be visible next year, depending on speed adjustments it looks like we will see it again. Simple to use and makes sitting by a fire late at night more fun.
Great App

Used it last night. Great App I've 25 years navigating for the world's greatest Navy(US). Finally something that makes sense using and fun working with. You will have too use some grey matter(brains). But once you double check NORTH dead on pass over track. Again Great App! SharpNavAct.
Junk
by Scott in Norco on 2013/07/15 01:26
Cool app when it works. The problem is it often won't load passes. The app just says "loading" for hours and after multiple attempts. Pretty frustrating.
Fantastic piece of tech...
by Armor99 on 2013/06/25 00:36
Without doubt... This is the most technology packed app for $2 anywhere. Works perfectly... I was able to locate the space station in just a minute. It showed up like magic just where the app said it would be. Well done!!!!
Not very good
by djbrodersen on 2013/06/12 16:17
There are a lot of other apps that do a better job in general. I couldn't find a way to turn push notifications off and the setting that allows me to limit push notifications to only visible passes doesn't work. I get notifications several times a day.
Works great!
by jgreenfi on 2013/04/23 01:11

I used it early this morning at around 1:53 am, about five minutes before that, I went outside, turned the viewing tracker on, turned to the direction I would see it (NW to SE), the horizon line came up on the screen, as did the line of the orbit above that, then all of a sudden a marker came in view on the orbit line saying "ISS", right on schedule and sure enough, it cleared a line of trees in front of me and there it was streaking across the sky, it was a beautiful sight. This App is 100% accurate and works perfectly for me. Good job....no....GREAT JOB!
awesome app!!!

I am an employee at the US space and rocket center in Huntsville, Al and thanks to to this app we had hundreds of kids outside watching the space station fly over our heads one night. AWESOME APP! It worked perfectly :)
Does not work on iPhone 5 / iOS 7.0.4.

Awful
by Tarzan Ferrari on 2013/10/08 22:41
I feel like a dope for buying this.

Works great!
by jgreenfi on 2013/04/23 01:11
The instructions (or lack of) leave a bit to be desired... But once you figure it out it works great! My son and I saw the ISS for the first time over NE Ohio tonight... Pretty cool!

This APP works great. I watched the ISS fly by just standing in my back yard! This APP was well thought out. The Watch Pass function is Genius!

I have been using this application for a few years. It has never failed to provide the exact information.
Good app for tracking
by Racetr8 on 2020/01/30 03:30
This app is great. Works well and is accurate however, it would be even better if it had a magnitude (brightness) indicator so you can find the best and brightest time to view the space station
App will not reset to my location

How do I reset app to my current location?
Best ISS spotter app!

This is my Go-To app for watching the ISS orbit overhead. I love the ability to “share” viewing opportunities to my friends on FB and Twitter.

Notification issues
by Billk77 on 2016/12/17 09:01
When the app is opened and the push notification is tapped to set up, it says "push notifications failed to load. Check network connections" I've tried doing this over cell data and wifi. And yes, my location is on and the app has permissions to use it.

I set the app to alert me to all visible flyovers and it worked perfectly! You can set and reset your location easily. By holding your IPhone up, you can easily identify and follow the ISS across the sky. My only wish would be for more visible flyovers, but that's not the apps problem.

I would give this app 5 stars, I would. But I have a funny suggestion for the developer... - When the notification of a fly by alerts the user it makes a jet noise or fly-by noise. The space station is in space.. So it would not be making that noise! Hahah other than that, awesome app.
Excellent Application
by NPRNewsListener on 2014/09/11 13:27
I just saw a great view of the ISS passing by. First it is good to have an application do a useful job and second there is excitement seeing a man-made object flying through space. Enhancements could be added but this version is valuable as is.
When this is fixed, i will rate the app 5 stars again.
awesome app!!!

Not for me
by Wibba on 2014/10/12 11:52
I've deleted this app. The alerts that the ISS will be visible within minutes are incorrect. Incorrect as in the orbit is not over my part of the world, according to the app's map and according to two other much more accurate tracking programs.
Notice to developers

by #We on 2014/12/20 00:49
Only correctly located in sky one time. I can turn off the app half way threw a pass then restart it and it shows the location of the ISS in a completely different place. I am very unhappy with the functionality of this app.
