Shameless Money Grab!!!
by scarupstate on 2019/05/20 02:42
The app is laid out nicely and has a great look that is customizable. Great features and works flawlessly. However, this is a shameless money grab app. $10 a year...really. Greedy! Lost me as a user.

Changing item title is too hard
by Xav6455 on 2019/05/18 12:54
It takes too many taps to change the title of a list item, it’s a third-level deep submenu. Can you make this easier?
Been using for years!!
by jhkates on 2019/05/17 16:21
I love this app! I share grocery lists with family members and save any recipes I find on the net I want to try. Never any issues. I never write reviews but I use this daily many times and have tried others but always come back to this! It’s the first app on the first page of my home screen!!

Love this app!
by The Thread Diva on 2019/05/15 03:33
I use it everyday! You can make any kind of list you might need! I especially like the recipes list. I have imported many great recipes from the internet and always have them available when shopping so I can take advantage of that “perfect” grocery item on sale by pulling up the appropriate recipe and know everything I need to make a perfect dish! This app keeps me organized and saves me time by organizing my shopping! Try it!!!
One Fine App - Wish I Started Using It Sooner.
by Jimt29 on 2019/05/14 19:59
The more I use this, the more I like it. Primarily for weekly supermarket shopping. It’s set up to mirror the same isle layout as my favorite store. Makes food shopping really easy. I especially like asking Alexa to add something to the list. Very, very easy and helpful. I also have my Christmas shopping list set up by person thanks to the great personal technical support.
How did I survive without it!?!!

Exactly what I’ve been searching for!!
by Kimmliz on 2019/05/13 19:59
I have been searching for this app forever!! I had Grocery IQ, and thought I loved it. The developers stopped supporting it, so I’ve been searching for a replacement. I tried a couple and was very disappointed. Somehow, I found Any List and I cannot believe how much it packs into the app! Much more than Grocery IQ did. Things I love❤️ *The predictive text when you’re entering an item *It automatically puts most items into the correct category *Lots of options to customize the experience *syncs with my other devices *THE RECIPE IMPORT!!! What?!?! It can import a recipe (with a picture) and create a list of the ingredients and then you can add some or all of them to your list!! It also includes on the list which recipe the item is for which is so helpful if you need to pivot or problem solve in the store. I used the free version for a couple of weeks to make sure it was all I hoped before upgrading. It was!! I am happy to support such a comprehensive app that works so well and saves me so much time and effort. Thank you!

I love this App. I used it for lists. But then I got the upgrade and it's fantastic. I'm now able to import recipes from My Fitness Pal, Paleo secrets, etc. love it.
Phenomenal
by KatRrU on 2019/05/09 20:35
This is the app Is incredible. I used to pin recipes on Pinterest and never use them. I love that the app scans the recipe ingredients and instructions off a website, and you can add each ingredient separately to a shopping list. The real gem is that it pairs with Alexa. How many times have you been cooking and you noticed that you were out of an ingredient? Being able to Tell Alexa to add the item to my shopping list is phenomenal. I don’t have to find my phone. I don’t have to touch my phone with dirty hands if I am in the middle of baking. Worth every penny.
Awesome!!!
by Jessica130 on 2019/05/09 16:42
I’ve used this app for a while, just for the list. Loved it. I just upgraded, now I love it even more. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

Terrible customer service
by Kalilax on 2019/05/05 17:11
Do not expect their customer service to stand by their app: you'll be on your own to get your issues with a paid app resolved!
LOVE this app!
by L Hall2 on 2019/05/05 12:46
There are few apps I like well enough to buy, but this one is a treasure! I primarily use it for recipes I find on the Internet. Pinterest is fine but this is better. You can quickly download the recipes (95%) automatically or manually add. There is meal planning and grocery lists. You can customize by grocery store sections and store. It will alert you when you go by the store you have items to by, if you wish. I could go on and on about the features I love! I am obviously a raving fan!
The Top-Notch iOS App!
by PerryRaptor on 2019/05/04 19:48
This is the best grocery and shopping list!!! I would rate it a 6 out of 5! The ability to share lists from family members making grocery and other shopping far more efficient and improves productivity! App features and settings are very easy to understand!

Must have app!
by NewtonPug on 2019/05/03 13:03
This app organisés most of our life. We have different shopping lists we share, which sync in real time as we walk about the store, and we have to do lists that we can also share. We have most Recipes in here, so we can simply make our grocery list, and we have an agreed meal plan by meal by day so we know what we’re making. The import from the web works really well with the recipes too. We’re very happy that we have a subscription too. Tech support, not often needed, has been very responsive too. Thanks!!
THE definitive store list app
by Gtui on 2019/05/03 12:57
I know there are tons of apps that include grocery listing as a side feature, and I usually try to use as few apps as possible, but I make an exception here. Best local store shopping app out there, bar none. Devs keep honing it, but honestly I was impressed beyond belief when it first launched. I love apps that let you be as OCD as you want to be, or not, when it comes to settings, options, views etc. (Toodledoo is another of those, for task lists). AnyList has tons of options based on your preferences, but somehow doesn’t get gummed up in the process (not easy, just look at how many apps don’t handle that design challenge well) Congrats to the team for continuing to put out a great product. My only suggestion is don’t tinker TOO much, lest you risk breaking what makes your app awesome. I think apps can be over designed, with pressure on devs to continually update, and there is danger to the user experience with that mentality. App is great as is!
The most functional grocery list app!
by Bertha331 on 2019/05/02 19:34
I do all of the meal planning and grocery shopping in my family. This app stores all of the recipes I’ve found worth keeping, and then it makes meal planning a cinch by building a calendar full of meals. Adding ingredients to the shopping list is also easy peasy! The paid version is absolutely worthwhile. But what really drew me in was the ability to customize all of my list categories. The first thing I did was go to the grocery store and build one category per aisle, in the order that I walk through the store. With AnyList’s ability to remember where you categorize items, there are very few edits to make to the list after a few weeks of training it. I have never found another app with this level of customization, and it is the only way that I can get through a week’s worth of shopping in a crushingly busy grocery store in under an hour. Phenomenal! My husband and I both use the app, and I love the rare weeks when we both do the shopping and use the app to live-update as we work from opposite ends of the list.
CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT!
by Flfit40 on 2019/05/02 18:08
Not a day goes by that I don’t use this app. If you like to explore recipes, cook at home and do your own shopping you will love this! Well worth the $9.99 a year for the added perks. I have saved so many recipes and love that you can add it to your calendar and automatically send the ingredients to your shopping list!
Best shared list app
by Shem409 on 2019/05/02 16:25
I was seriously injured and could not run errands or do the grocery shopping. This app helped me make our list and husband could pick up groceries without a problem. Helped me managed our meals and recipes. We changed from Iphones to Android Google phones and was upset that we couldn't use this app. Never found an app to replace Anylist. I was elated to find out that we can nowuse this app on our Android phones. Thank you so much. 👍👍
Couldn’t Do Without It, Invaluable Aid!!
by fry my buns on 2019/05/01 15:13
I have been using Any List for years and couldn’t do without it. I depend on it extensively for keeping track of a variety of interests and needs. The basic (free) version is incredible by itself, and the upgrade just improves on an already wonderful app. With the basic, one can create a different list for each store that one uses. One of the beauties of the app is to be able to access it while offline. That means that I can access My List anywhere, using it without being charged for web time when I’m away from my WiFi. I can also change it when I’m out and about by adding something I have seen in a store or by checking off an item that I have bought when I put it in my cart. It keeps track of any recipes that I want to specifically shop for, what items I have and what I still need. I also have current prices on most items so that I know if the price has stayed the same, gone down, or increased. On a fixed income, that allows me to get a very close estimate of what my shopping is going to cost. And speaking of fixed income, the annual cost of the full version does not cost so much that it makes it impossible to pay for. I have Never run into a problem with this app. I’ve read about a few problems but the support team must get onboard to fix problems right away, because they have never been an issue for me. As I previously stated, I have been so thrilled with this app from the start, that I would be lost without it. Definitely a five star app!

Forces you to use safari to import recipes vs. chrome
Great, but ridiculous.
by Daelyn6 on 2019/04/28 12:36
I’m a big fan of this app, been using it a long time. I’d even be willing to pay for the upgraded features, but a subscription?! Talk about freaking greedy. I don’t care if it’s $1.50 a month it’s the principle of the thing. So I love it, but I’m so irritated the upgrade isn’t a one time fee. Otherwise I’d buy it in a heartbeat, cuz it IS a great app. Response to response: I understand why people charge subscriptions. It’s still greedy. I use several amazing apps that had one time upgrade fees that still do all the things you claim you need a subscription for. So I’ll continue to be annoyed with this one.
Absolutely amazing app
by Sewingbunny on 2019/04/27 23:15
I've been using the free version for two years and my husband has it on his phone also. Whenever I put something on the grocery list on my phone or iPad, it also is on his phone and he can see it when he goes to the store. I purchased another recipe program for my PC two years ago and they kept raising the price every year, ($80), it has gotten so steep I could not afford it. Then I remembered this little app has a recipe file...and more. I figured for the money what did I have to lose so I bought the family plan, OH MY GOODNESS! It is amazingly easy and so full featured. I'm telling everyone I know. My only suggestion to the developer is that I want to send my recipes to an online site, Lulu I think it is, to print out recipe books for my children and grandchildren for Christmas next year. I'd like to see that featured added, if it is there, I have not seen it.. For me, one of the best apps I've purchased, and I purchase very few apps. I can also see my recipes on my tablet with this app. It is so convenient, at the store when I remember I want to make something for dinner and I can't remember all the ingredients, my recipes are on my phone, I open the app, find the recipe and the list of ingredients are there. I can also add ingredients to my shopping list when in a recipe. You will love it.
ANYLISTS APP
by Hmsducky on 2019/04/27 19:33
This app is absolutely the best thing so far on my iPad 2. Whoever thought this app out is amazing. It's easy to use and love both the Lists and the Recipe lists. Thanks. Don’t know when I submitted this review, but I’ve had ANYLISTS for several years, and still it’s my favorite app. As I said before this App is amazing, thanks guys/gals.

My wife and I loved the app made shopping easy. But lately it is not showing or deleting on one phone when the other person makes a change. Also since the last update when you cross a item it goes away immediately before it would wait till you clicked delete all crossed off items.
The best of these
by Billfish1 on 2019/04/27 06:00
I have used a number of grocery list-type programs over the years and this is very much the best. It's well thought out and well programmed. The interface is simple, without complicated and unused options that never seem to work quite the way you want. It does have features like photos and stores but they're not in your way if you don't use them. It syncs between iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps so I can download or enter recipes sitting at my Mac, then consult them on my phone at the market. It doesn't lag or take a long time to open. It integrates with voice assistants although I haven’t tried that. I have version 5.9.5. I pay $7.99 a year for the individual subscription that lets you cloud sync, and feel it's totally worth it.
Best app ever.
by ptclough on 2019/04/26 04:01
I love this app. I can find a recipe online, and import it into the app. It amazingly has all of the ingredients that I can just click onto my shopping list with the correct amount. I can easily add the meal to the calendar meal planner. I can put something on my list while my husband is driving to the store, and it is instantly on the list for him to see on his phone. I can create multiple lists, for gifts or prayer needs or anything. So easy to use and fun, too! This app is excellent. Better than any other list or meal app I’ve seen by far.
Forcing me to upgrade
by Soxbruin on 2019/04/24 20:36
I started using this app today. It started off good and I liked it, until I tried to upload a recipe on the internet and it wouldn’t let me. it was asking me to upgrade to be able to upload. Plus the upgrade was expensive for an app I wasn’t sure if I loved it enough to spend $10 or more. No thanks, I’ll find a new app to use.
Literally the best app I have ever downloaded
by Synctrouble on 2019/04/24 19:05
I am not referring to the best grocery list app (which it is), but of the hundreds of apps I have used in the past decade this the first where every function I wished for would be there, and would also be INTUITIVE!! I rarely spend more than $10 for an app, but after experimenting with this for a while I decided to pull the trigger on the 12 month family subscription. First I will say that the grocery list is amazing, I love the ability to tag things by stores and the flexibility of the categories. The family plan has been great because now my kids will use their Ipad/iphone to add anything they run out of – toothpaste, deodorant etc. In addition to shared grocery list, I made private lists for myself for when I go to Target, Ulta etc. Then with my Apple watch I just choose the list and can scroll right down, and cross things off instead of having to keep pulling out my phone. Seriously life changing!! For me, the real beauty of this app is the integration of the recipes and meal planner. I seriously show people I don’t know how cool it is – as an example, most of my recipes are on Pinterest, so when I am planning my weekly meals I simply open the recipe in Safari and then use the share button and it directly imports to Anylist. The features I love most are what I can do once it is there – first there is the ingredient list that you can tap on and it add directly to your grocery list, then it’s so easy to add recipes to certain dates, change one recipe to be dinner one night and lunch the next, change quantities, make notes, put things in multiple categories, view by week as well as days. Every time I thought “I wish I could just do (x)..” I would try something and I could! If we are doing something simple like roast broccoli without a receipe, I take a picture of it and then upload to the thumbnail. It all brings me such joy. Five thumbs up Anylist, keep up the good work!!! Had to edit to add another KEY feature - I no longer have to text hubby while he’s at the store to add something or see if it’s already on list - I just add it or look on my phone and it has been almost simultaneous that it shows up on his list. Put an end to sporadically stressful/unpleasant experiences related to “list adding overload”! So the app can even help your marriage :)
This App is Wonderful!

I've had this app for a week and can't imagine life without it now. Importing recipes is a breeze and so handy to have while I'm cooking. I love how I can pick a recipe and have the ingredients load into my grocery list. Very user friendly. The free version is terrific but I highly recommend the subscription service to maximize the power of this little app. It's definitely worth it.
Best organizer app
by JKU1234 on 2019/04/24 13:16
I’ve tried a lot of apps for menus, grocery list, to do list, and this is the best by far. I use this list app for everything. My husband and I go to the store together often. Great way to divide and conquer while in the store. He cross something off and then I’ll know it’s already in the cart. I love the ability to create meal plans with recipes and then automatically put the ingredients I need onto my weekly grocery list.

Favorite app of all time

This is my favorite app of all time. I have been using it for several years... grocery shopping, take out ordering, chore lists. My family knows, if it isn’t on Anylist, I won’t buy it. I was so sad for a while when my son and husband bought Samsung phones, and we had to try out other apps. For over a year, our finely honed process suffered, as nothing else worked as well. Thank you for finally supporting Android. The customizations are so easy, and even after all these years I’m still finding better, more efficient ways to use the app. Great job, thank you!
Yeah, but...

I LOVE this app. I am a list freak so it's right up my alley. I'm having fun experimenting with different organizational approaches. For a free app, this little baby rocks! After two years I finally broke down and bought the full version, which I SHOULD HAVE DONE from the get-go. If you like saving recipes, and being able to select ingredients from a recipe into a shopping list (WHICH I LOVE), you will LOVE this app. This is by far my most utilized and favorite-ist app EVER. I bought the full version (which is CRAZILY affordable) because the convert-to-recipe function is AWESOME. And I like having a picture of the recipe. Best app EVER for anyone who likes to cook and needs reminders for shopping. BEST!!! EVER!!! My ALL-TIME FAVORITE APP!!!

I have been using this app for a few years now and I have grown to depend on it, using it every day. It is how I finally got my husband to start helping out with grocery shopping. By adding a pic of the product, it makes it easy for him to find the right thing. It is also the only recipe book I use now. I highly recommend this app!
LOVE IT!
by MsMiles756 on 2019/04/13 03:52
This app has totally changed my life. I use it to make lists of things I have for a small business with pictures added so I don’t duplicate items. I keep my home repair items on another list. Groceries on another. Vacation items to pack-goes on and on. I recently upgraded and I am just getting the hang of recipes imported into the app. Some more organizing to do! Great 👍 app! So happy I stumbled on this one. After using this app for about a month I LOVE it, I have lists created for more than grocery items, I keep lists for things that I need to locate quickly, etc. The recipe import is fantastic!

Automatically organizes your list into sections so you don’t have to run around the store looking at your phone. Also super easy to share lists, and it updates in real time when someone else adds something. I’ve always used this app for my own lists, but it strangely keeps surprising me. Honestly the best app, to be real.

Lists for grocery is accessed with Alexa daily or more. So convenient if out or to be running low and then add right then. Separate Lists for drug store, warehouse, liquor store keep us organized. So convenient to share list, and can check individually. Thank you for all the time saved.
Great App

I love this app!!! It keeps my shopping to a minimal and less hectic! I HIGHLY recommend it!
This is a GREAT App!
by LittleBullRun on 2019/04/08 19:12
I use this app for almost everything: shopping (3 grocery stores, hardware store, Home Depot), gift lists by person, ToDos, recipes - you name it. The support is quick, personal and right on. If you are a list-guy or -gal, your life has just gotten wonderfully better!
We love AnyList!
by TNT & Troop on 2019/04/08 15:54
We have been using AnyList since it first became available & don’t recall how we did life without it. Sharing a single grocery list makes life so much easier when only one of us is shopping (though my husband finds it annoying that as he’s shopping & happily crossing things off his phone is dinging as I add more items from the comfort of my home. LOL)! And it’s great for creating “honey-do” lists as well, ladies! But seriously, we use it for everything from grocery shopping to packing lists, household inventories for insurance purposes, keeping track of the shows we like to record & SO much more. AnyList keeps us organized in a convenient & mobile fashion & is a must have app for everyone
Problems sharing
by HammerSF on 2019/04/07 16:56
This seems handy but frequently the shopping list does not sync between my phone and my wife’s phone. This makes it a lot less helpful. We have made sure our apps are updated multiple times and still have this problem. I’m surprised I don’t see other reviews with this problem.
Great

Finally an app that really works and is truly helpful. Love this app
Almost perfect
by Emmypeanut on 2019/04/07 02:31
I am very happy with this app. I love that I can categorize items for different stores with the prices, since I go to 5 different stores for everything. The one big feature I really miss from the other grocery list app I used to use , and wish it had is the ability to scan the barcode of an item and have it's picture and info available. Taking a photo is ok, but I feel it's old fashioned and the barcode info is superior and easier to use. Will this ever become a feature?
I love this app.
by WordBrain Fiend on 2019/04/07 00:36
I’ve got the family subscription, and sharing this list with my spouse is super-convenient! Importing recipe ingredients from websites, items being categorized by the area of a store they’re found in, adding item photos, I can’t get enough.
All your list-making needs met

Use for grocery list and so much more!
by Holliscat on 2019/04/06 15:37
We just subscribed for the 3rd year and we are still happy! I use it for grocery lists, pantry inventory, meal planning, as well as tracking the best price at each store. There are still features I haven’t used but plan on using one day (calculator for grocery cart, etc) would recommend this app to anyone who eats!!

Thank you for the fast fix on the shut down issue from last update 4-4-19!!! I love this app and was really upset that I couldn’t use during my shopping trip, that happened to be the same day as update issue. That being fixed I’m loving my app again!!! Thank you!!!
Indispensable App; Incredible Developers
by tripm on 2019/04/05 14:49
This is a six star rating. My family has been using the paid service of Anylist for several years now. I learned just how dependent I am on this app when there was a crashing problem with the previous version. (Saving grace was that my lists still worked on my Apple Watch). More importantly though was the incredible responsiveness from the Co-founder. I submitted a report of the problem from their support page (instead of leaving a low rating on the App Store-I’m talking to you 3-star-leavers). I received a response in less than an hour and the issue was permanently resolved in the App Store before the end of the night. This was all done during a crisis, and the FOUNDERS were able to respond with care, professionally and timely all while resolving the issue during a time of crisis. If all software companies were this caring we’d have a much better collection of apps in the world. This is not the first time I’ve had fast useful feedback from these guys either.
Amazing Customer Service
by Dbl-T-Katthy on 2019/04/05 14:48
Let me start by saying that I seldom give reviews, but felt the need to let you know of AnyList’s exemplary customer service. I had updated to v.5.9.4, when I arrived at the store to make my purchases the app constantly crashed. I emailed AnyList at 10:22 am (while sitting in parking lot of the store) at 10:38 am I received an email from Jason detailing a “work-around” that let me access my grocery list. He also emailed me again at 10:48 pm to tell me they had released another version v.5.9.5 to fix this problem. Just wanted to reach out and tell Jason “Thank You”, GREAT customer service!!!
Used to be a great app
by Jland0824 on 2019/04/05 12:20
Since your latest update we can’t even open the app. Opens and crashes, removed and downloaded again still the same. Guess we will have to find another list app that works.
Great app with phenomenal tech support!
by Isodad on 2019/04/05 03:39
We’ve been using the free version for approximately three years now and it has worked flawlessly until today. (We actually used the paid version for a year too.) Today the app would not work via data, only on WiFi. This was useless when I was out at the grocery store. After an attempted restart of the phone, uninstall/reinstall of the app, I returned home I promptly emailed tech-support. They quickly got back with me with a suggestion and an apology for the hassle. I emailed back that the suggestion didn’t work. A few hours later I received an email stating they have an updated version which should address the problem, which it did! 5 stars for the app & 5 stars for their tech support! BTW, we also use AnyList as a reminder for what to take on certain trips, or things to get for a party, i.e. it’s not just for groceries.
Buggy after update
by amymachencarter on 2019/04/04 22:34
The app worked fine until the latest software update. Now it quits as soon as the app opens, even after rebooting my phone.
It’s crashing

I just upgraded. It will not open. Crashes every time I try.
Wonderful App!!!!
by LizHomeMommy on 2019/04/04 15:14
This app is wonderful! I use it on my iPhone and iPad and my husband uses it on his Samsung. We are able to sync shopping lists so he can pick up what I add to the list. I can watch him check items off and can add items with my Alexa Dot too. It’s so convenient that even my kids will add things to our list as they find something almost gone or empty! This is a game changer for me! Thank you Any List!!!!
THE Best Shopping List App!
by AppUser086 on 2019/04/03 20:41
I love, love, love this app! And it’s almost entirely because of the integration with Alexa. It makes adding items to the various lists SO much easier! The Siri integration is clunky, but that’s the fault of how Siri works and not the app. I have Amazon Echos all throughout my house, and as soon as I remember something, all I have to say is “Alexa add <item> to <store name> list”. And instantly that item appears correctly on one of my six or seven lists that I maintain for different stores. The only thing I would ding on the app would be this dumb annual subscription for an upgraded experience. Why?!! Just ask for a one time payment, and be done with it. Work on other apps to make life easier. Going the subscription model and trying to ensure a continuing revenue stream will never work in todays fast app developing economy. People are going to move on in a year or so. The developers will have moved on in a year or so. I would have happily paid $5.99 or even $9.99 for a one time purchase. Instead, now I’m happy to just use the free features, and if the app goes away, I’ll just find something else that works.
Liberating

I started using this app when I became responsible for doing my parents errands. I enter grocery items in “Grandma” list.
Wonderful app
by Can see in the dark now on 2019/04/01 23:33
We use this app every week and it’s made our lives so much easier. My one complaint is that making the categories work for the configuration of your own neighborhood stores is pretty clunky. I finally figured it out but it was not intuitive, and I had to name the categories differently than the included ones (or: deli counter instead of deli) in order to avoid the app automatically organizing them into the wrong order. Other than that, it’s wonderful and we love it. Highly recommend.
Great app
by siobhans fan on 2019/04/01 16:50
We had a different grocery list in the past. I decided to look around when syncing became an issue between devices. This has been very good to work with. Syncing is seamless The support team and developers are open to suggestions and will walk you through how to do things. My husband and I both use this app. We have created lists such as “inventory” to track what is in the pantry To do list : easy tracking of things to accomplish. I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 as there are a few things I’d still like to see. (For instance , when I’m shopping, I’d like the option to put automatically place an item crossed off in inventory. I can do it, but it’s a multi step process )
Best list / recipe management app ever!
by SDDan on 2019/03/31 22:09
I never buy subscriptions to apps until now. The Allrecipe integration with scaling and editing of recipes is such a time saver. Oh yeah, I forgot the mention the Alexa integration. If we notice that we are running out of any item in the kitchen, “Alexa add milk to the grocery list”. Done! Awesome app guys! Thanks!

Simple, easy to use. Need something add it to your list. The wife and I share the app so if she adds an item to the list, It automatically goes on mine. No more forgetting stuff, just add it to your list when you think of it and it’s there when you get to the store. Absolutely love it!!!
Didn’t know I needed this so much!

Terrific! Best shopping list app.
by Andres I Rodriguez on 2019/03/28 23:46
Terrific app for families. iCloud integration keeps everything perfectly in sync. Superb integration with Alexa. 5/5 The unfortunate icon makes it look like some retro Windows app but it is actually it follows Apple design principles. Works as you expect it to work and works every time. Well worth the annual subscription for a family.
One smart app

It is so easy to use and so custom and simple to use. I can literally make the list I want as I walk from my car to the shop, it is just that simple
My New Favorite App
by Gaufrier150 on 2019/03/26 01:01
This app is a complete game-changer. I was originally just looking for an app that could let me organize grocery items... and this one does that automatically! The features are so helpful with organizing. I have the paid version, which is only $9.99 PER YEAR!!! That’s absolutely worth it. To sum it all up: -quickly add grocery items that are auto-categorized for you, but you can alter them as you wish with a different category, quantity, price, or store -import recipes from any website. If the website’s format doesn’t work well with the import feature, just copy and paste the ingredients/steps into the app using the “paste ingredients/steps” feature and is taken care of -categorize recipes, use the meal plan calendar, and so much more!!! I love this app. I use it every single day.
Wonderful List

This app displaced my Apple Reminders app. I tried AnyDo app, but was disappointed. This app has quickly become one of those apps I could not do without. I bought it to use with Alexa. Works great.
Syncing with Siri and Sharing = AMAZING
by Agradecido on 2019/03/23 20:22
Holy cow—caught this through a YouTube video and am blown away by the functionality and ease of use. Adding recipes is a breeze and downloading the ingredients onto a shopping list is awesome. Being able to sync with Siri or Alexa is an added bonus, and sharing lists with friends makes it all the more worth it. Cannot recommend enough.
Absolutely hands-down best list app
by JennyNix on 2018/06/02 15:23
I use this app everyday for my to-do list and grocery list. It is extremely robust, yet simple to use, and I’ve noticed over the past 3 years that many new features have been added to help especially when making a grocery list... like the ability to input specific quantities of items along with units (for example 2 lbs of ground beef, or 4 count of apples). The newest addition I’ve noticed is the ability to assign different grocery stores to things you want to buy. Rather than setting up a grocery list for each individual grocery store I want to visit, I can assign a grocery store to an item and have all items in just one master grocery list. I also have the optional subscription add-on to be able to access and edit this list from my laptop as well, which is really nice to be able to do during, say, a slow period at work so it doesn’t look like I’m just playing with my phone at my desk, and I can create a grocery list to shop with right when I leave work. I also find the ability to share lists with another person as crucial. Right now my husband and I are trying to both go through a shared to-do list before our baby arrives. Seeing things getting crossed off in real-time is awesome and gives me a sense of satisfaction!
No more getting to the store and realizing my list is at home!
by HD-AZ on 2019/01/20 15:34
We have been using AnyList for years, and love it. Any time we see we’re running low on something, one of us will grab our phone (which, let’s face it, is always at our fingertips) and add it to the AnyList app. Being able to build lists for different types of stores is great. My husband LOVES the photo feature for those less frequently purchased items, because even if I’m not with him, he’s confident that he has selected the correct product. Categorizing makes shopping more efficient, and utilizing Favorites makes populating the list a breeze. When only one of us is at the store, and the other one realizes there’s something else we need, all it takes is a quick add to the list, and the one shopping knows to get it. One of our daughters has added “puppy” to the list a couple of times, but so far that hasn’t worked. I’ve found that I need to be careful with what I add, however. My husband went grocery shopping alone because I wasn’t feeling well, so to express my appreciation while he was at the store, I put “XOXOXO” on the list. He came home with all of the groceries, including a HUGE bag of Hershey’s kisses!
Apple Watch series 4
by ajda on 2018/09/21 19:51
I have been using AnyList for awhile now on my watch and have come to depend on it so when I got my new Apple Watch series 4 today and went to set it up, one of the first apps I looked for was the AnyList complication to put on one of the new watch faces but found it missing in the complication list. The available complications on the new face list was much shorter than usual so I tried an older watch face that I had been using and found the app missing there too so I went into the Watch app on my iPhone and saw that the app was now uninstalled. When I tried to reinstall it I saw a message saying the developer needs to update and the install icon just kept spinning without installing so I sent a message to the developer telling him what happened and asking when the next update would be. I got an immediate reply saying that I should be able to install the app on the new watch on an older face so I tried again and he was right this time the install went through as did the complication on one of the Watch modular faces. I am happy to have gotten such a fast response and help from the developer so I can again use this great app on my new watch! Thanks very much.
Amazing and dependable!

Our family has been using Anylist for years now. We would be lost without it. It is so easy to use and it has so many different features. This is not just a bare bones list maker. I really appreciate how you have updated the app regularly. You keep adding cool stuff. It was easy to choose the upgrade. I love the adding of photos to the items. My husband shops so I can be very clear with the photos in describing each item. No more frustrating episodes of buying what he thought that I wanted. Thank you and keep up the skilled work that you do. Oh, I also appreciate how you listen to our suggestions. It really is amazing. Update: It has been a few years since I wrote the review above. This app has only added features and improved its usefulness. I’m not a big recipe person so the fact that I can create any type of list is the key for me. Being a public school teacher, this list maker is invaluable. Adding the subscription gives you amazing features that you won’t want to miss. Try them out. You won’t want to go without them. The team at AnyList is great at answering any of you concerns. Amazing job AnyList Team!
Startlingly well done app!
by kek978 on 2017/12/21 15:06
I rarely review apps, but AnyList continually surprises me with the ease with which I can use it. From remembering things I’ve entered before and the store that they come from, to a watch app that is way better than any other list app I’ve seen. You can filter on your watch, you can add things on your watch. Amazing capability and ease of use. I originally purchased AnyList because it had a good reputation for quick updates, and it certainly does that well. But the rest of the features and the way they are well thought out and implemented is what makes this a great app. The UI isn’t as trendy as some apps, but the way it works is really exceptional. The support is also top notch. I’m also very happy with the yearly subscription type of purchase. That way I know that AnyList will be around for years to come, and I can depend on AnyList being there — since really using an app like this requires that you put a lot of your life into it. I’m still mourning the demise of other great apps that went away because you paid for them once and then over time their revenue stream gradually disappeared. This app is worth every penny and much more!
My first review- Great app!!!
by Unbridled Engineer on 2018/02/18 19:03
I’ve tried LOTS of cooking and list apps, but never liked them- until I found this one. You can modify or customize most anything! It works with other apps and functions, such as REMINDERS, calendars, locations. You can share task lists for projects, shopping lists and recipes with multiple people. When I’m meeting others for a long vacation, we share the kitchen packing list. When one of us marks an item off our list, it’s also marked off the shared list immediately. I have a “Take to Daughter” list that she or I add items to before a scheduled visit. My husband goes to the meat market, while I go to the grocery co-op, and this app lets me assign stores to items, which keeps our lists “separate, but together”. I can import most recipes automatically with a single click from web pages, but I can cut and paste entire ingredient lists and directions if it can’t import automatically. So easy! It will put recipe ingredient lists on a shopping list easily, and I choose which list. It will import costs for items from assigned stores and calculate a running total.
My favorite new app!
by kg7yuo on 2018/03/21 08:45
My wife and I work opposite shifts and sometimes we done see each other at all during the week so weekends is our time together. For years we would do all our shopping and to do list stuff on the weekends so our time together was spent out shopping for the next week or two. Recently I had 3 weeks off for medical issues and couldn’t do much except sit around the house so I got really, really bored and started organizing our files, pictures, everything and in doing so I found we needed some better organizing systems. I found online grocery shopping is awesome, found an app to organize bills and finance but couldn’t find any apps I liked for all the lists we create and never bring or she writes a list and changes her mind several times it all looks like scribble by the time we needed it for shopping. This is how I found Anylist and so far absolutely love it! We create meal plans for several weeks, shopping list, recipes that she never can find are now stored conveniently in one place and a really great feature is it is compatible with Apple Watch.
Love this app
by DrBrown58 on 2017/10/22 22:11
I usually don’t rate apps but I decided to take the time to let you know that this is an app that’s worth your money. If you share a list with anyone else then pay for the family plan. It works flawlessly and is well done. I used another app for years and I became uninterested in it as it became more complicated and took longer to list the groceries that we needed than to actually shop for them. With this app my wife or I can add to the list independently and know we have the latest list when we enter the store. She starts at the front and I start at the back and we meet in the middle in half the time. It just works! We use AnyList for other lists as well and I can have my lists separate from her lists. The ability to just bring up Siri and tell her what to add to the list works very well also which helps me to use AnyList even more throughout the day. I do not have to stop and type items in AnyList but when I have time to open the app everything I said is there waiting for me to add it. Fork out the money for the subscription!!!
Still Loving AnyList
by GrannyGofProvidence on 2018/10/10 15:06
Can’t remember how many years I have been using AnyList. Over time it gets better and better! I use it for so many things. If I could only have a few apps on my phone this would definitely be at the top of my list! I use it for Grocery and Shopping lists. I keep track of what gifts I gave for birthdays and Christmas from year to year. I keep up with business orders, gardening chores, dates like birthdays, anniversaries, etc., shoe sizes, you name it! I really love that I can put pictures in my lists. And the recipe and meal planning is so wonderful especially for big family get togethers and holidays. You can import recipes from the internet so easily! There is a learning curve for this app but if an old granny like me can get it anyone can. Just so thankful for AnyList! Now in my older years when I am forgetful AnyList comes to the rescue with the answers I need. And the people who created and manage this app have always been so quick to respond. At first I used the free version. But the money I pay for the AnyList Complete is well worth it! 😊❤️
Essential app for me
by 2008Biggs on 2018/10/24 12:20
It’s been a while since I posted a review so I wanted to reiterate how much I love this app. As far as I am concerned it’s just two steps away from perfect. First I would love for the devs to add a link to the web version on the import failed screen for recipes. How difficult would it be to add a link to the text where you’re telling me I need to use the web version to manually create this recipe? Secondly I most fervently wish you could switch between two recipes. When I’m using two recipes simultaneously it is frustrating to not be able to switch from one to the other. You must search for each recipe each time you switch between them. As a workaround I have created a temporary category that I assign to the recipes I’m using so each time I search for them they are easier to find. Otherwise the app is near perfection. The devs make consistent improvements and it’s one of the few subscriptions I wouldn’t want to live without. So, thank you. And please add the link to the recipe import failed screen :)
Disappointing. Lacks very basic usage tools.
by Leonardoty on 2018/06/19 15:49
On the surface this app looked like it had everything I wanted but I ended up sorely disappointed. The two main features I expect to be very basic but AnyList can’t handle: Recipe dividing. If I want to downscale a recipe, it allows me to do it in values like 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 etc. But it doesn’t allow me to do it based on decimal, or more importantly, SERVINGS. If I have a recipe that feeds 5 people and want to make 2 servings, why can I not do that? The only way to make this feasible is to enter recipes as servings for one, and then add them multiple times. But that brings me to my second complaint.... Grocery list generation. If I have one recipe that requires 4 oz of chicken, and another that requires 8 oz of chicken, and a third with 4 oz of chicken, it makes sense on my grocery list to show 16oz of chicken is needed. Instead I have 3 entries for chicken. This is really basic business logic on the apps part. So if I break up my recipes into individual servings and enter each one for each meal, I get a grocery list with 250 items I need to buy. Until these things change I find the app extremely unusable for my wife and me, and I regret paying for the full family version.
One of my favorite apps
by bthorndy on 2018/04/08 19:43
I don’t usually write reviews, but this app has really made my life better and easier. The basic list functionality is fine; I don’t love that I have to take extra actions to actually delete stuff I’ve crossed off, but it does make it easy to undo it when I cross something off by accident. The thing I like about the lists are that foods are grouped in categories, which means less trips back to produce for that one thing I missed! And I like that I can edit the category, since I buy a lot of things in the bulk section at my store (so oatmeal isn’t always in cereal). Also, setting stores is nice, since I have a few things I really like to buy specifically at certain stores. What I really love, though, is the premium recipe feature! I love that the browser add-on can copy the recipe for me straight from a website and then I can put everything - with amount needed! - on my list in one click. Seriously, I LOVE this feature. It has made it so much easier to try new recipes and plan meals.
Absolutely love AnyList!
by SandyG123 on 2018/08/20 12:27
I have had the AnyList app since 2012, and have had the subscription (first the individual subscription and then the family subscription, because my husband liked the app on my phone so much) since 2014. This is one of few apps that I use every single week (and sometimes daily). It is by far the best grocery list app I have used (and I used a bunch before finding AnyList). The family subscription is amazing, and worth every penny, in my opinion. I love being able to load and import recipes into the app, and make meal plans and lists with my recipes. My husband and I love that we can both add items to our shared grocery list, and having the option to assign a picture to an item is wonderful, so if one of us is doing the shopping and is unfamiliar with an item the other one added to the list, we can view the assigned picture for reference. I love that if I have a question or feedback to provide, the developers personally email me back with a response. Love AnyList!
How did I live without this app?
by Sailaway13 on 2018/02/17 21:24
Been using this app since it came out. First app I’ve ever paid for and I’m happy to re-up each year. I have lists for camping and books and Christmas. My biggest use is for a weekly grocery list paired with the meal planning feature. In fact, I’m doing my meal planning and grocery list now! What I love about the app is that I can rearrange the categories to match my pattern at the particular stores that I shop at. I’ve got one for Fred Meyer where I typically grocery shop, and then another list for Costco. I can’t sing the praises of this app highly enough. It’s simple, easy to use and customizable. And whenever I’ve had a problem or didn’t understand something, the developers have gotten back to me personally. So impressive. I’ve been so happy to leave my paper grocery lists behind. This way I never have to turn around and go back home to find the list I invariably left sitting out on the counter. I always have my phone, so with this app I always have my list.
What would I do without it?
by sjohoo12 on 2017/12/07 16:04
I love being able to share particular lists with certain people (they need to have the app on their phone as well). I have a list assigned/shared with my daughter, one with my husband. They can make amendments to list as well & check off what they have bought. My husband can look at it & get anything I need on way home from store. Whenever u send someone to the store, do they tend to get the WRONG item? With this app u can place a PICTURE of the item beside it. There used to be no way in hell I’d ask my husband to pick up an item like hairspray-chances of him getting right one are nil. But get a pic of the exact product u want off browser, place pic next to item, & chances are way better! U can even organize grocery lists by store or mark if u have a coupon for it. I have “to do” lists for me (AND for hubby), Christmas lists, gift ideas, etc. It’s a lot more than a grocery list app. Works in conjunction with some other apps too- grocery list from recipes, etc
Alexa replacement app
by Hotsparks66 on 2019/02/22 19:44
Using Alexa shopping list, it had many shortcoming. I didn’t want to use a third party app were I had to tell Alexa each time what app to use. This app talks directly to Alexa’s shopping list so they are always linked. You don’t have to change what you say to create the list. You can organize and move around your items were you could not on Alexa. It marks off items so you don’t have to wait for items to be deleted when the screen opens up. And the screen doesn’t shut down while on the list. And it works great if you have no phone signal in the store which Alexa can not do. Great addition to my Echos. Also it has a Apple Watch app that works great. I don’t have to take my phone out while shopping. You do have to upgrade to there premium service to use with the watch but it’s a very cheap, if I recall it was under $10 a year. It link to my wife’s phone so when we’re in the store together it crosses thing off the list on both list in real time.
The list app I dreamed of!
by plushpup68 on 2018/07/02 05:11
This is the fullest-featured list app a person could want. From Siri support to super customizable lists/categories to location-based reminders and multiple-user action...I was literally listing the features of the app I needed to invent to my dh this morning, and on a whim, decided to see if it was already out there—and it is! I’ve driven my poor dh crazy today talking about all its features (I forgot to mention the insane meal planning and recipe integration, which is great for people who want to find take recipes from almost any recipe website and have them dump selectively and intelligently into your weekly shopping list). I had him download the app and log in, and then I dragged him shopping (we were going to check out the cheaper grocery store anyway), and I could see him cross items off the list from my phone screen! They’ve thought of it all in this app. Utterly worth the upgrade for about $10/year. (And I *never* take the time to review stuff like this!)
Essential : makes life easier & marriage saver!
by Krisurq on 2017/11/21 17:08
This is the one app on my phone I use almost daily. I have many lists and a main grocery list my husband and kids all share. ANYONE can stop by the store on the way home and have the list. I pay the annual fee, just having the photo option has saved my marriage! LOL (ok, that’s a little dramatic.) But seriously, no more “why did you buy that flavor/brand? We’ve bought xyz for ten years because the kid gets a rash with that stuff. You know what I’m talking about if you are married. My sisters and I share a medication list for my aging dad. And a grocery list to help him with shopping. And the recipe component?!! You need this in your life. Stop at the store and need a dinner idea? I have actually done this. Popped open my app, chose a recipe and with a touch the items I need are added to my list. It is really magical. I decided to start keeping my recipes here, adding them as I used them and now I have a whole collection. I put the browser extension on my computer (Mac) and can easily put online recipes right into the app. Adding them by hand is easy too. I have them categorized. Slow cooker, main dish, Italian, Mexican, poultry, beef, soups, breakfast, Thanksgiving, etc. (a single recipe can be in more than one category. Really. Do yourself a favor and just try it. It is life changing. I started with the free lists. And now it is my pleasure to pay an annual fee in gratitude for such a helpful tool.
Recipe and Grocery list app
by Sara Luckie's iTunes on 2018/10/25 17:24
I finally found an app that I can use for both creating multiple grocery lists as well as housing recipes. It’s easy to create your own personal grocery list or share with family. What’s even better is that you can assign items to stores and this will remind you when you have items at the store you’re shopping in. It also notifies you if something has been added (or removed) from your shopping list. For recipes, you can easily upload from the web and assign to specific categories. The major bonus is selecting the ingredients you need to add to your grocery list. There is also a meal planning feature — I haven’t used it yet but I’m sure it’ll be a useful tool for the family. I tried multiple apps but found this is the best and simplest one to accomplish all of these goals! Very versatile! The only negative comment I have is that I’d like to view the full recipe first, instead of the current defaults. The current process to view recipes is a little clumsy.
Amazing /pantry/menu/recipe app!
by MJog16 on 2018/07/28 12:40
For the last few years, I’ve been searching for a food management app to meet all my needs. I’ve tried and discarded so many that I thought I’d never find one to do everything, until I found AnyList. Within a couple of days of downloading the app, I made the decision to upgrade to the full subscription version for less than $1/mo - and unlocked a whole new level of efficiency and productivity. This app is so robust! Now I have all my pantry items stored in one list for easy reference. I can add recipes, and plan weekly menus. The calendar goes way out, so I can even plan menus for dates when I have company coming. The recipes are easily assigned to a date, and items in the recipe are easily assigned to the main shopping list. Items on the main shopping list can assigned to specific stores, and I can filter the list to see only items for that particular store while shopping. Love this app and highly recommend!!
Awesome app
by FR!TZ on 2018/12/13 21:49
I’ve had this app for many months on the free version. That alone is a good app. I use it instead of looking at the Alexa app for my lists. It’s more customizable and user friendly. I recently upgraded to the individual plan and it’s even better. I can see my lists on my watch, pull in recipes from websites (not always perfect, but at least helpful), get alerts when I approach grocery stores to remember to look at my lists, etc. it’s a nice app and I’d recommend it. Some useful improvements would be 1) to be able to sort by store on the watch, 2) to be able to set location alerts to a chain of store rather than specific location, and also only when there is something on your list assigned to that store, 3) general improvements to import of recipes. Without those, it’s still great and worth it, but just a few ideas I had. I’ll probably send them those suggestions, so maybe they’ll be a thing in the future.
Hands Down, THE BEST!
by Wilitsno on 2018/12/08 17:01
Anylist is perfect on so many different levels - Hubby and I initially simply used it to manage our various shared shopping lists. We can both add and delete items from any shared list, easily determine whether the other has purchased a needed item, and we can even add items while the other is shopping and know they will see it! I also use it for private, unshared, lists - such as gift ideas, or personal projects. Then we discovered the benefit of adding recipes to Anylist, not only does it simplify adding needed ingredients to our shopping lists, but Anylist is actually a superior way to organize and manage our favorite recipes. I particularly appreciate the ease with which Anylist adapts quantities to make fractions or multiples of the base quantity. Next we discovered how simply and elegantly Anylist imports recipes from the internet - so now our Anylist recipe file contains both our old favorites and an ever-growing number of personally-curated ones we’d like to try. Now when planning meals we scroll through our Anylist recipes for inspiration, select the day under “Meal Plan”, and simply click to add necessary items to the appropriate shopping list. After cooking a new recipe that we like, we assign a star rating and add any helpful notes (if we don’t like it we just delete it). Anylist is a simple but elegant app that makes our lives easier - we both use it every day. Most highly recommended!
Never wrote a review until I found this App

By far the best app I have ever had. Have multiple lists with main groceries and to do lists. Also make lists for trips and share with friends so we can all add and minus things for a group trip. Also assign items to people so they know what they are in charge of. Easily filter items I am in charge of getting. Best thing for group trips. Also absolutely love the recipe features. Have been addicted to this. Love sharing recipes with friends and adding things easily to my grocery list. I was happy to pay the $8 for the upgrade of adding photos. Not only because I love the app and want to contribute I love having photos of my recipes. Seemed reasonable. Thanks to the developers! This was something I needed in my life! Oh and my Alexa works with this so the kids love adding things to the list while I am shopping! And my husband and I can shop simultaneously off this list since it updates in real time.
Best list app & very well designed!
by Hap!? on 2018/12/18 14:26
AnyList is the list app for list makers! I got this app because I wanted to add items to my grocery list using Alexa. I found this app and loved that it imports recipes and adds ingredients, that I can choose, from recipes, even when I’m already at the store. That is only the beginning of what makes AnyList amazing! The developers seem to read my mind and are constantly updating the app to make it better all the time, flawlessly! It can categorize your list, track your prices, filter your list by store and then organize that list based on the store you’re in. There is some setup on your end to organize based on your store setup (like aisle #’s at your store). There’s a lot more this app can do and it keeps getting better. I did pay for the added features and it is definitely worth the price. Alexa can be the only stinker with the lists. (Or maybe it’s just me and my family) Fir instance I was shopping and I had “Hi” on my grocery list. I thought 1 of my girls was being cute. Then I discovered I needed more Tide and noticed when I asked Alexa to add it she repeated “Hi added to grocery list”. So just listen to what Alexa echoes back and if you’re adding Tide using Alexa try saying “Tide laundry detergent,” she will put it on your list and in the correct category. I have gone far beyond using this for grocery lists! I have a to-do list, wish lists, camping list, packing list, etc.
THE must-have List app!
by Soccertaxi on 2017/10/24 23:30
I have used many list apps and I have finally found THE list app I am keeping! This app is so awesome and I love how my kids can access our family list with their own information. It syncs to everyone when anyone makes a change. And being able to use Siri or Alexa to add to my list when I think of things on the road. The recipe manager is so awesome! I can add needed ingredients from within recipe to any of my lists. This just keeps getting better!! I never thought I would be excited about list-making but this app is the cat's meow. I purchased the subscription to explore the recipe import and have to say that I am really liking this feature. It's easy to do from the web or even using the web browser in the app. I have contacted the developers several times with questions and suggestions and have always received a prompt personal response. These guys are great! Did I mention that I LOVE this app?
Can’t live without AnyList
by Miffed Fan on 2018/01/28 02:40
Phones are convenient, but there are few apps that I actually NEED. This is a rare exception. I use it every day. I thought that even before they added the meal planner, and now I just can’t live without it. I recently made a change to our parental controls, which prevented AnyList from opening. Before I figured out what was happening, I panicked. How will I know what to make for dinner or how to make it? How will I remember all the things I need for our Wednesday outings if I don’t have my list??? Thankfully, when my parental controls are tweaked correctly, AnyList is extremely reliable. The developers are accessible and responsive. Oh, this is also the one and only app for which I happily pay a subscription. It’s that good. My one request: the ability to filter recipes using criteria like category. This would be so helpful when I don’t know what to make, but I know I want a slow cooker meal containing ground beef, as an example. So I could filter out everything except recipes in my “slow cooker” and “ground beef” categories and find a recipe. Ohh I would love that so much. I have so many recipes saved that I don’t remember what they all are or what they are named. But I’ve been faithfully assigning categories to each recipe in anticipation of one day being able to search through them this way. Oh please, this one update for a faithful subscriber? Download this app now. It’s the BEST.
10 star app

I’ve been using the premium app since it came out and I Love the easy to use list maker for groceries or really anything I have lists for everything not just groceries I have my different stores inside I put prices inside and tally up what I’m buying as I check it off. It has themes which I like and I can make my own themes of course it saves all the stuff I buy regularly it syncs to all my devices. I pull in recipes from any website with the share sheet with pics and just a tap adds it to my grocery list or I can tap just what I need it will auto double or triple your recipe size I can plan a wkly or monthly menu quickly and add what I need to my grocery list it does it all and with ease quickly which is what I love it takes no thought or time and sync to my reminders. The developers listen and answer any questions or suggestions and keep updating the app constantly. Thank-You for a great app
Keeps getting better and better
by Trisquel on 2018/04/06 16:46
We’ve been AnyList Complete subscribers since it was $20/year and we rely on it a lot. What started out as a replacement for the fridge white board grocery list is now the recipe database, grocery list, pantry list, meal plan, travel packing list, clocks to change list, weekend projects list, long-term projects list, etc. When my parents stayed with us when my son was born, we added them to the grocery list so they knew what to pick up for us and help out. I also love how the number of supported recipe websites for automatic import has grown so I rarely have to paste recipes into the database. The ability to share recipes online, ala copymethat, would be a nice addition, as well as a dedicated pantry list (automatically move crossed-off items from the grocery list to the pantry list so I know what we have without digging through the freezer/fridge/pantry) would be nice-to-haves.
Subscribed to my SECOND year 🎉
by Consyl on 2018/04/06 22:40
I have tried A LOT of grocery list apps. Free ones and paid for some. And there is NOTHING compared to AnyList!!! I love the simplicity of the app yet it’s nothing short of options. I categorized my list in order to how I shop that way I’m not scrolling up and down. I love that it allows me to put prices so I can stay within budget. I know how much I’m spending BEFORE heading to the store. No surprises at the cash register. Lol. Except when I’m shopping with my kids, however I know my base limit. I’ve used this app for a year now and I haven’t looked for another. And I’ve subscribed to another year and I’m sure I’ll be a subscriber forever!! This IS the app!! You will not be disappointed at all. And just recently I used the recipe portion to import—and wow!!! I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it even more. So much functionality!! Get it! It’s worth every penny!! And if I can give it 10 ⭐️ I would!!! Thank you creators!!!!!
UNPARALLELED Support & ACTIVE Development
by AppReview_NOT_CostReview on 2018/11/14 23:22
I’m STILL using and depending on this app for any list that I need. And now, with the improved handling of item categories in version 5.9, it’s even better! My roommate and I share a shopping list, so now we’re assured of getting all our new items into the same category, thus helping to avoid duplicates. It’s also almost instantaneous when using shared lists, or with syncing between multiple devices (or both)! And, as the years go by, AnyList is now even more INDISPENSABLE, as my memory is failing me at a (seriously) alarming rate :(! My point is that, if you NEED a dependable app, that ALWAYS works, NEVER fails (as far as I can tell), and is easy, fast, intuitive, and very reasonably priced, this is your app! I usually don’t remember to write a review ;), but in this case, I tip my virtual hat to the developers (or doff my chapeau)? The release of version 5.9 also emphasizes the point about ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT of the app by the developers, as the years tick by. So, thank you very, very much, indeed. I literally use this app many times, EVERY SINGLE DAY, and it’s response has always been STELLAR. This may even push me over the fence into getting an Apple Watch (or give me a good excuse to have one ;). (And, NO, I’m not connected with them in any way whatsoever. In these ultra-cynical times, unfortunately, I thought it necessary to specifically say that.)
You can’t live without this!
by Jaydpea on 2018/11/24 14:21
No more wishing you had your shopping list with you because it’s still on the refrigerator. Any time you want you or, if you have a family plan, anyone else on the plan, can add an item to the shopping list. You can add a photo of the item so it’s quicker to spot on the shelf or so you have the prescription number handy. You can specify stores that have it so you can sort for those items only in a particular store and even have your phone alert you when you’re near one of the stores. You can assign a category to each item (and make your own categories like for bulk items at our local Co-op) so you don’t forget items. Cross it off the list as you shop and watch the list shrink. Next time you add the item back it still has your categories, photo, etc. There’s even a recipe file. You can store personal recipes or download them from the internet. You can add items from the recipe list to your shopping list with one click! Then open it back up to the recipe directions in your kitchen as you cook. You can also make separate chore lists, books you want to read, whatever. I’m nearly 70 and I was able to figure this out and use it. The developers are very responsive and helpful when I was learning how to use it. What did I ever do without this???
Wonderful app with great new changes👍🏽👍🏽
by JohnyJaknove on 2019/02/03 20:21
I had an app crashing issues on a Sunday, I sent a email to them and they fixed the issues with my account on their server and emailed me back within 2 hours. This is unbelievable, I deal with a lot of tech support in my line of work and this is unheard of. This is an amazing team they have working on this app👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽. This app will help you organize any list, haha. You can pictures to items and now see them within the list without opening the item. You can short items by store and then filter the list by store so you only see what you need at the specific store you are at. You can make multiple lists. And you can share the list or lists with people that you invite to whichever list you choose. Tired of your husband getting the wrong thing from the store, add the items picture to it to help him out. You can import recipes from the Internet, the app will actually get your ingredients and break it down and also pull the instructions out of the recipes for you. It will also if you want it to add the ingredients to your grocery list. Best part once you have the recipe in the app the app has a feature to half, quarter or double the recipe and it does it for you. Amazing. This app is bar far the best list app in the App Store.
Love this app!
by cissycakes on 2019/02/14 02:49
I’m a list junkie and live and breathe by my lists. This app has single-handedly changed the way I utilize my weekly meal planning and grocery list making. My favorite feature is the ability to pull my pinned recipes from Pinterest (or any website) directly into my saved recipe list and auto-populate the ingredients into my grocery list! Game changer! If I need to adjust the portions, it’s the click of a button. No calculations, no re-writing, no worries! I purchased the full version so I could take advantage of this feature and have no regrets, it’s worth every penny. In addition, being able to meal plan my week and know exactly which grocery stores I need to visit (I have 3) having all my staples already pre-loader into my lists has literally saved me hours of time so far. Good job to the creators of this app, I appreciate you very much. 😁
Love it!
by TalkinTolkien on 2019/02/01 21:19
I’ve been using this for a few years and I love it! You can re-order the categories to match up with your grocery store layout and I can sync the list with my husband so that not only can we both add things when we think of it but if we go to the store together we can split up and see when the other person crosses something out (because they put it in the grocery cart). I also love the shake feature to undo a mistake and I LOVE the recipe feature that lets me transfer recipes from the web and organizes them for me (with pics) then let’s me transfer the ingredients I need right onto my shopping list. Also makes it easy to double (or halve) the recipe. They really thought of everything. One of the few apps for which I’m willing to pay for the premium feature but it’s really become indispensable to me!
Awesome app
by Baltimoretexan on 2017/12/20 11:28
I am a professional organizer and I recommend Anylist to all of my clients. It’s the best way to keep track of what you need to buy, and also super easy to share with other people in your home so that they can add these to the list or cross them off if they do the shopping. I like to keep a separate list for all of the different stores that I go to for different things – Sam’s Club, Trader Joe’s, Marshall's, dollar store, target, the grocery, etc. when I think of something that I need from each of the stores, I just add it to my AnyList and then when I get to the store I Don’t have to rack my brain to try to remember what it was that I needed. I also use AnyList to pack for vacations. We go to Maine each year and we take the same list of stuff, so it’s super easy to pull out my AnyList and use that when it’s time to pack. AnyList is the best – try it out!
10 reasons It's so awesome!
by HelloitsDerek on 2017/12/14 08:25
1) The browser plugin that automatically imports a recipe from most sites is what sold me. 2) If plugin not compatible with a site, the copy/paste feature also works great adding all ingredients in one swoop. 3) Works seamlessly with my wife allowing us to share everything. I can cross and item off my list and instantly see it being removed from hers. 4) Has phone, iPad, Chrome, Mac versions all work seamlessly. 5) Cherry pick items from a recipe list into grocery list. 6) Create a favorite list 7) Print or just take what you could print and copy/paste that into your own blog etc. 8) It allows fractions! A competitor app I was using for years only allowed decimals which I learned to live with, but!? 9) A Beautiful and pleasing UI which is even customizable. 10) It's bug free! I haven't run into a single problem on my end.
This app has changed my life
by chefkarin on 2017/11/17 15:01
I can’t tell you how much I love this app. I’ve had it since the first version and use it to create shopping lists by store, Christmas shopping lists, to do lists, and even craft supply inventories! The share feature is amazing because my husband and I can access and update shared lists in real time. For example, we share a grocery list and password enclosed medicine lists. The medicine lists can be printed out or emailed to doctors and I can text my hubby “hey, I’m headed to Meijer! Update the list if you need to” and within seconds get that “ding” that a list has been updated. One time I emailed for help and the developers themselves wrote back and were very helpful. I’m in this app at least 5-10 times a day and don’t know how I’d stay so organized without it. It comforts my OCD need for mega organization. You’ll love this app!
This is a great list solution. Not just a shopping list.
by Jeanisis on 2019/01/15 18:04
I’ve been using this service (the app, the browser) for probably 5 years now. Initially it was for grocery list to synchronize between my husband and I. Now it’s used for family packing list (air travel list, kids list, camping list, gym bag list), birthday party supplies list, and now also recipe collection. A really awesome feature is the ability to pull up a recipe, tap on the ingredients you’re missing, and it will automatically get added into your grocery list with a notation that it’s for so-do recipe. So when I’m cooking and an ingredient runs low, I just tap it and it will get renewed on the next shopping run. Also, the ability to track which stores we like to buy each item from (e.g. BevMo vs. Costco vs. Whole Foods) and the prices (e.g. eye drops from Walgreens vs. CVS) is awesome.
Phenomenal App
by Keecomin on 2018/01/25 11:45
I’ve used this app for over a year, and I’m very particular with my requirements for lists, etc. I’m a big Excel fan and have spreadsheets for everything. I’m extremely pleased to say that I’ve been able to successfully use the AnyList App for not only grocery shopping, but for other organizational needs such as travel lists, party lists with sub folders, and even my Christmas gift list by person and dollar amount! I do have the AnyList Complete, but it is well worth the price. My husband doesn’t have the app on his phone (he’s a phone dinosaur) but another great feature is that I can text him the grocery list so no more scribbled notes! Last, I’ve emailed 2-3 times over the past year with a question and gotten a prompt reply each time. So thanks to the developers for a great app that has unchained me from my computer!
Best list manager ever!
by Taterguy on 2018/09/22 17:32
Have been using the free version for 4 days and am amazed with the thought that went into designing this app. We have 4 mobile devices in my family. AnyList keeps all my lists. From my iPad Pro I sync my shopping list with 2 iPhones and another iPad. My wife makes entries using this app on her iPad. Edits ripple across all devices instantly. If she forgets and adds an item into Reminder instead...no problem. It’s automatically exported into AnyList. The fact that it interacts with Reminders, Alexa and Paprika (my recipe management db) makes this app a hub for all my list creation/management chores. What’s most impressive is the ease with which I can edit, move, categorize and add notes to list items individually or in batch mode. The developers provide context sensitive help screens and frequent email tip sheets. This app is addictive.
Amazingly good app for organizing too

I use Any List to, of course, keep my running grocery list, but even more so, I track my ever growing board game collection. I use the Store feature to track different prices of the game at various different online and retail stores. So at a glance I can find the best price once I’m ready to purchase. I then actually organize my games into different types of games (worker placement, abstract, area control, dice games, card games, etc). I even gave a categories called: To Purchase, To Research More, To Play First, Pending Games Ordered/Backed on Kickstarter, etc. This helps me quickly track games of interest and what I’ve already purchased. This app tracks it all. The only feature I’ve been really waiting for is the ability to collapse categories down when viewing all of the games.
The BEST app
by KLMol on 2017/10/30 20:23
I’ve had AnyList for a few years. I started with free version but quickly realized how much more it can do. I have the paid plan and my entire family is able to add items to our shopping lists. It’s gone through some changes over the years and improvements. In our household the ability to add to all of our household lists with our Alexa dot is the best upgrade that they’ve done to the app. It’s usually when I’m cooking or kids are getting something to eat when they realize it’s the last one and have to add to the shopping list. Before the Alexa capability they would forget...now it’s so easy to tell her to add that there’s no excuse. The app developers who get email requests are also amazing because they reply and really listen to ideas for changes. Highly recommended!
Easy and fun to use
by Emiliodashopper on 2018/02/17 14:04
I tried this app because I was in search of an easy to use list for keeping our grocery list with us so we wouldn’t forget it at home like our shopping bags. This app is very interactive and allows no only a grocery list but other lists as well. With the annual purchase of this app you can create a grocery list and add the actual pictures of the product eliminating the purchase of the incorrect brand or size. The best part of this app is that I can create the grocery from my phone and it instantly updates on my other family members phones and also allows them to add items I may be unaware of. Great app and looking forward to new changes. Best grocery app plus more, download ANYLIST from the App Store now, you won’t be disappointed! Fun for the kids as well!!!!
Many nice features

I’ve been looking for a while and tried several other list apps attempting to better organize my shopping to decrease waste and impulse items. Pros: item categories make shopping quicker I I move through the store, with the upgrade I am able to meal plan using recipe import and add needed ingredients from the recipe (just what I don’t have, not the entire list). I can also share the list with my husband. I like item cross off and can delete things as I go. Cons: I have not been able to apply it effectively to other non shopping lists. I’d like to make notes on a list by date. I.e.- days with migraines, diet points used etc, so I don’t have to cross cross other apps. Also the upgrade, while not expensive, is a yearly subscription instead of one and done.
Are you kidding me?
by Mark of The Mountain on 2017/12/16 11:16
I can’t believe this app only has 5 reviews. I have only used it for a few days and it has already changed my life. I was so tired of carrying around little lists and then forgetting the list when I went to the store or not having the list with me when I wanted to add something. I am a hardware store guy but I use different stores for different things. I may wait weeks before going to a certain store and now I don’t have to rely on paper lists or memory. I also have a long to do list. I am still using the free version but I love the feature in the paid version where you can selectively share lists with family members. Most of my To Do list comes from my wife but I won’t have to tell her that buying another tool is on my personal shopping list. 😜

Shameless Money Grab!!!
by scarupstate on 2019/05/20 02:42
The app is laid out nicely and has a great look that is customizable. Great features and works flawlessly. However, this is a shameless money grab app. $10 a year...really. Greedy! Lost me as a user.
Best ap there is

I use this religiously for recipe holding and easily adding items to the grocery cart. No cook should live without. Premium is $6 per YEAR. That’s a 2 pennies a day for ease of life. Worth it.

So convenient.

Not sharing

This App is Wonderful!
by CalTexSal on 2019/04/24 15:24
I've had this app for a week and can't imagine life without it now.

Not just for groceries but for lists. No slimy paid scaling. One simple pricing structure and the cheapest/most valuable!

Favorite app of all time
by mom needs help! on 2019/04/18 04:37
This is my favorite app of all time.

One of the reasons I bought the Prime was to be able to keep a dinner diary. I really would like to remember who I served what and when. Isn’t this a service you could add?
Only app I've ever reviewed

The ability to import online recipes into a single place and create easy, reusable shopping lists is a game changer. Hats off to the great UX designer!
WE LOVE THIS APPLICATION !!!

This is an absolutely fantastic program. My wife and I use it in tandem as our iPhones are synced through the program and we share ideas, menus, and grocery items as we prepare our weekly and monthly shopping lists. Outstanding!!! And the minimal cost is totally affordable. Thank you for a wonderful app!!!
Love It!
by djoalaska on 2019/04/15 00:49
I LOVE this app.

Good app for sharing with a shopping partner. Would love if this list integrated with a store’s personal shopping service!

This is the best shared list app. Full stop!
Pretty awesome
by BrandonYori on 2019/04/12 04:34
Automatically organizes your list into sections so you don’t have to run around the store looking at your phone. Also super easy to share lists, and it updates in real time when someone else adds something. I’ve always used this app for my own lists, but it strangely keeps surprising me. Honestly the best app, to be real.

Great app. User friendly. Very useful. The title is literal. Although primarily aimed at grocery shopping, I use it for things to do, wish list and several others. The grocery shopping function is amazing.
Most Helpful app EVER

Lists for grocery is accessed with Alexa daily or more. So convenient if out or to be running low and then add right then. Separate Lists for drug store, warehouse, liquor store keep us organized. So convenient to share list, and can check individually. Thank you for all the time saved.

There are still features I haven’t used but plan on using one day (calculator for grocery cart, etc) would recommend this app to anyone who eats!!

Liberating

Never wrote a review until I found this App
by Dcolbeck on 2017/10/09 22:00
By far the best app I have ever had.

Awesome app
