Terrible service. Constantly locked out
by b3c on 2019/05/20 13:27
I am constantly locked out of my account for no reason. When I contact customer service it takes them over a week to respond! Awful company, disappointing because I like car sharing.
Terrible Customer Service
by xombi josh on 2019/05/18 19:59
The idea of a car share app is great and I use to LOVE Car2Go and used them for a few years until they decided to lock my account with no explanation or communication. Agent on the phone was completely useless and just said Car2Go decided to not approve my account and there wasn't anything he or anyone could do even though I've already had an existing account for several years.
Your worst nightmare. Engine shutdown!
by NinaSoAwesome on 2019/05/15 11:31
What’s the worst thing you could imagine about a controlled car rental that unlocks with your phone? The car stopping while mid-turn on a busy road! That was my story on Mother’s Day this year. I took my family out including my son and while mid turn at a busy light, the car shut down completely. The steering wheel locked up, engine wouldn’t budge and my life literally flashed before my eyes. I called customer service who’s claim was “I don’t know what you did to the vehicle. You’ll have to take a bus or train but we won’t reimburse you for an Uber”. What bus or train gives receipts? And worst off, I was told I’d be refunded and my card was charged immediately as I still wait for a call from a supervisor 3 days later. The English accent man by the name of Troy was the worst, slowest, nonsensical operator ever. Do not use car2go. They don’t maintain their cars, they don’t clean their cars, and they don’t give customer service in times of need.
Tire pressure is always low
by salcovarrubias on 2019/05/14 17:15
They’ve made many improvements to the experience, but these cars require more maintenance. The tire pressure is always low, sometimes practically flat. They should have an indication in the app that tire pressure level is low.
Terrible app. Terrible technology. Terrible customer support
by frustrated by bad service on 2019/05/10 22:17
Created an account six months ago and have yet to be able to use it. App and company browser have rejected over 40 attempts to scan and download my license on 4 or 5 different occasions over the course of six months. And customer support continues to mechanically provide the same ‘instructions’ over and over again which do not work. I have wasted hours on this and am done.

Time is money - I’m quitting before trying to fix it!
by 1232113421 on 2019/04/29 17:30
Yes, that’s my choice. Time is money! I value my time. That’s why I thought it could be a good option to have a car sharing service on my phone. However, after registration I don’t have any service or even confirmation of it available to me. That company just took my credit card info and went blank on me! Will call my bank and block them from charging it.
Seattle Car2Go
by BCSeattle16 on 2019/04/21 16:58
Cars are consistently filthy (garbage, pet hair, food crumbs). The service lights are usually giving warnings ( low tire pressure, overdue maintenance). Customer service doesn't have the ability to resolve many common account issues in a timely manner. If you're going to utilize car sharing services I highly recommend signing up for several so you have options when they inevitably fail you.

Glitch in there system
by car2gonomore99 on 2019/04/16 02:49
I used to be a frequent user of this application and thought it was great. Unfortunately they recently charged me 125 dollars for a ticket for parking in a restricted area. Which caused a couple of issues that their customer service team never remedied. A quick google search shows that the average parking ticket in the d c area is 50 dollars not 100. They also charged me a 25 dollar processing fee. I contacted them to inform them the area they accused me of parking in was incorrect. As I have never been to that area of DC. I believe their program allowed another driver to use the vehicle and accused me of getting the ticket. It’s a shame I really loved their product, and I used them twice a week. I no longer use them out of fear of tickets Fees I don’t deserve in the future. I tried very hard to reason with their customer service about this and they sent me a nasty email.
App won’t open after new update

Horrible Customer Service
by C.H.A.O.S. on 2019/04/12 21:42
I’m going on 4 weeks to resolve an issue. Fraud activity happened on my credit card. Still using the car2go service and the pending charges were stopped. Okay now problem...change credit card info and reimburse car2go. Took 3 weeks to complete that process and 4 attempts with me reaching out to them to make sure they got their funds. Now I’m being told I have a pending charge from 2014. It’s 2019 and I sure you wouldn’t have let me use your service and not paid for 1 charge 5 years ago. Even the customer support lady said it doesn’t make sense. She said someone would reach out to me once resolved and that was over 7 days ago. I like the car sharing but the customer service is horrible. Happy to switch since there are other options in DC now.
Drivers license validation
by spraypaintedgold on 2019/04/11 15:50
Rather than go through the new drivers license validation, I’m quitting this service. When I try to deactivate my account over the phone, they hang up on me.
Worse customer service than the DMV
by tinokhalaf on 2019/04/10 12:58
I’m astonished that a tech company in 2019 would have such horribly inefficient customer service. The agents themselves, when you manage to get to one aren’t the problem. The problem is 100% in management and in their model. The app works sometimes, and the cars are fine. But it is ludicrous that they’d completely disregard such an important part of any service-oriented business as customer service.

Terrible customer service😩
by remembre on 2019/04/01 14:55
Let me start off by saying that I love the idea of Car2go and have been a customer for a few years now, but for many months at a time, I am "locked out" of my car2go account for reasons I'm never sure of. Sometimes, it's because I changed my debit card, and car2go REALLY doesn't like that, so they will lock me out and make it literally impossible to add another card to my account. Calling customer service never helps, despite their best intentions. They send me to the website to add a new card-- I already tried that, that's why I'm calling!! You do it!! The worst part was a few months ago, I was hanging out with a whole group of girls talking about my car2go issue when everyone was like OMG ME TOO! We were ALL locked out of our accounts and had not been able to deal with it bc it's SO annoying to fix. They must be losing thousands on locked out customers. When you DO finally get help, your account doesn't get unlocked for a few days!! SO annoying. I am lucky to have reach now in my city as well, which somehow never locks me out... But they're combining, hoping that reach now management takes the reins... Anyway, hopefully someone from car2go actually reads reviews. Why do you lock me out?? I WANT TO ADD A NEW DEBIT CARD PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY I WANT TO PAY YOU FAIRLY FOR YOUR SERVICES
What a shame...
by Backflips_gone_WRONG420 on 2019/03/31 15:20
I loved this app and service. It seems as though they moved their customer support over to Greece. My last straw with them is that my account owed them a measly $14... I’ve called almost a half dozen times to tell them to take the money out of my account so that I could continue to use the account... it’s been a week and I’ve lost hope and will be dealing other services. Haha. It was a good run, but as they say “good things come to an end”
Can this stupid company PLEASE let me pay an outstanding balance myself?
by Mirabelle Bowe on 2019/03/29 19:57
I’ve run into many issues regarding Car2Go holding my account due to my card not going through. Rather than being able to make a quick payment on the app and select which card I’d like to pay my balance with, instead I have to wait for their accounting department to handle it. It makes no sense, just let me pay with a card I know has money in it. There is no need to waste my time for days waiting for my account to be unlocked from some accounting overlords.

Horrible Customer Service
by TE20005 on 2019/03/19 19:34
This apps “Member Services” is a joke and frustrating to deal with. I have been attempting to get an issue with them resolved for almost 4 months now. The agents just spit out the same script. “It will get resolved in 48 business hours” NO ONE TAKES RESPONSIBILITY AT THIS PLACE
California Driver’s License won’t be approved
by Mikepilberg on 2019/03/19 17:10
Recently had my business trip to Seattle with 5 of my coworkers. We tried to register in the service but, you know what, all of our accounts were ineligible for car2go. No reason, no customer service. Please don’t waste your time waiting for validation. Also, they charge you $5 for registration purpose which are non refundable - nice move!
Best thing ever - worst customer service on planet earth
by Mrs Havacamp on 2019/03/18 20:21
Absolutely abhorrent customer service when you call them. Unhelpful. Unprofessional. The car service is amazing assuming your cc doesn’t get stolen and you owe them $7, will take countless phone calls and DMs on twitter JUST TO GET THEM TO UPDATE YOU CC INFO AND TAKE YOUR MONEY. Lol.
Cool Service; Glitchy App
by Wendy Day on 2019/03/15 21:52
Car2Go in Austin, TX is super cool and easy to use but the app is glitchy. For example, when I checked out prices for 3 hr packages, I couldn’t figure out how to exit that area without booking. So I had to cancel, which then prevented me from renting that vehicle for the next 2 hours. Also originally joining C2G was challenging. My boyfriend’s app approved his driver’s license pretty fast but my app left mine in limbo. Customer service (which was foreign and hard to understand) wasn’t helpful. They kept telling me to add my license but the app kept telling me I already had. I eventually emailed it to the company but they never responded. Months later, I called to RE-approach the problem. It took 3 or 4 days to sort out the problem, which was a glitch in the app/website. Lastly, it didn’t charge my credit card immediately, so a few days later it froze me out of a car because my credit card had expired without me realizing. I wasn’t able to just update my card in the app. It forced me back on the phone with slow and foreign customer service and I’m told it will take 3-5 says to resolve. Other than the above frustrations, this car service is clever, affordable, easy to use, and convenient. Anxious for them to add the BMW fleet from their recent acquisition/merger. Not a Mercedes Benz fan. If they fix the app, this service could replace a large portion of the local rental car business. It’s an ideal solution for those who need something between Uber and a rental car.
Leaving and highly don’t recommend it
by nooshdi on 2019/03/14 05:12
Awful, do not download, download any other ride sharing app,. Customer service has been awful and horrible. I called four times for the same issue, each time with an agent promising me it will be fixed or that they will make a note. They didn’t, and they were rude to me. One of them even refused to give me his name and kept me on the line so I would not rate him poorly. I asked to speak to the supervisor and I was told they called the number on my profile, and someone picked up and said they didn’t have a car2go app. I got zero phone calls and my number is clearly stated in the app. How a promising app like this is riddled with so many problems, especially on the customer end of it is incredible. I’ll be taking my business out of car2go and highly recommend anyone reading it to download ANY OTHER ride sharing app.
Horrible support
by crech311 on 2019/03/13 17:56
They need to better their support. Currently, if your card is declined there is no option to update your payment info in the app. You have to reach out to customer service via email and it takes a week for them to unlock your account! Absurd! I recently had a card stolen and forgot to update my payment info with my new card and was unable to use the service. Now, I got a new phone and am unable to log in. When I select reset my password, they do not send an email like they say they do. Continuously frustrated with this company.
Broken app, unreliable service
by Nick 21213 on 2019/03/13 13:30
After my card expired I was locked out of my account even after adding a new one to my payment profile. Two weeks of phone calls and emails before service was restored. Here I am now, locked out AGAIN even though the card I have in the system is active. Been on hold for 30 minutes. I never know when I’m going to get the “finish your profile you can’t be charged” notification. The card is valid, just used it for coffee. So any time I change my card Info i just have to expect to be locked out? This app is totally unreliable and the customer service is useless. Going to a competitor, I’m DONE.

by rell1023 on 2019/03/02 19:08
Unfortunately I will be leaving car to go because things don't get done in a timely matter. I waited 1 month just for my account to become active which they told me in one week it will be, I had to call them back numerous times and no one could help me because they had to request information from a second or third party. Another reason again with a timely matter, I had a balance that was supposed to be paid off with a new card on file which they told me will take one business day, keep in mind this was a Thursday, next week Tuesday came and still my account was not active, Wednesday came and still nothing. I called them Thursday and someone told me, "oh it looks like they took the money, I am going to reopen your account now" so all this time they took the money and never reopened my account until I called them. Really bad for customers.

by PoshGotti on 2019/02/27 05:15
Recommended to me by a friend. After constantly trying to upload my license, after constantly contacting customer service through telephone and email my account still says it’s locked. I have NEVER received a email stating whether I was denied or not (which they say they will tell you if you aren’t approved). When I called the csr stated my account was locked indefinitely due to violations of terms of conditions. Question ...how can one violate something they never had the opportunity to use. Don’t waste your time . Not worth the hassle

TERRIBLE
by ish9274920 on 2019/02/16 17:56
This company is scammer gold. Customer service won’t do much at all to help you. I’ve been charged $70 on my account and my license wasn’t even validated yet. I called customer service they said I would be contacted back, but I never was. I had to call my bank for a refund. Every single phone call I had with customer service in all my time trying to work with Car2Go either ended with a bigger problem in the end or just confusion. Do not give them your business
Worst customer service EVER
by The Arab Gorilla on 2019/02/14 01:44
Teos don’t listen to what you’re explaining to them. Because it’s all automated they are trained to think Its all Infallible. The reps are nasty and condescending even though they can barely speak English they think very very highly of themselves and make it known. After a bad experience I was credited for a trip only to have my account locked because they attempted so many pulls on my credit card I assumed it fraud and disabled my card. They couldn’t reverse any of the attempted and couldn’t unlock the account. After a week e are still dealing with it. And no one from management has reached out. Don’t do business with these guys. They’re a mess.

Stole $90 from my account, terrible customer service
by AliciaPucci on 2019/02/08 06:42
Had a terrible experience with this app and I’ll never use it again. I did a two day rental back in August and mid way through the latch to the trunk broke and wouldn’t close. The customer service team member told me to leave the car and my money would be refunded for the second day of the rental. I was immediately charged for the full price. After multiple attempts (probably 10) to contact someone via phone or email, I was finally delivered a canned email response with a $15 comp to my Car2Go account. The full charge was about 90 dollars. Car2Go took money out of my account without my consent. I would rate zero stars if I could.
Beware!! Worst Customer Service Ever!
by Bcdelaney on 2019/02/06 18:57
This company has the worst customer service ever! For whatever reason their system didn’t charge my card - yet let me continue to use the service for over 6 months (not knowing there were unpaid balances). Until one day I get a letter in the mail from a collection agency!! I call and they tell me to pay the collection agency and they will reactivate my account. So I do that. Now I’ve gone round and round with them 4 times - each time they reactivate my account, then deactivate it again because of these old PAID balances! You call in and you get helpless customer service agents who have no power to fix anything and no way to transfer you to someone in billing. I have had to cancel my bank card three times now to keep them from recollecting PAID balances!! Customer beware! Worst customer service ever!!!
Still no Apple Watch app...
by RodChristiansen on 2019/02/05 22:57
How is it that this app still doesn’t have a made simple way for users to just open up cars with Apple Watch? Reservations still made on phone, just let me open cars. A simple one button app with a screen with numbers for dashboard code One big “START” button to start rental. I’m already authorized with biometric (Touch ID / Face ID) on watch. Insert code from dashboard. Boom I’m in!
3-4 days to review your license?
by CDP616 on 2019/01/24 16:00
I took the jump and decided to start a car 2 go account today because it’s pouring rain and i didn’t want to ride my bike to the gym. I opened the account at 9am expecting to be able to get a car at 11:30am. After checking my email a dozen times to see if my license had been reviewed, i called. The lady on the phone said it would take 3-4 business days to review my license. She offered no reason or other help. Uhhh guess I’ll continue to ride my bike and use Lyft, not Car2Go. Thanks.
Obviously not interested in customers
by aussielili on 2019/01/21 08:37
Don’t even waste your time downloading let alone trying to sign up. I (tried to) sign up with a non-US/Canadian drivers license - they have a drop down menu to select other nationalities and I selected mine. I got an email stating they couldn’t work out where my (Australian) license was from and I had to send a copy of it and my driving history by email. Did this and heard nothing. Called a week later and the completely useless person who answered my call said it would be 24-48 hours longer - another week and two more emails - and nothing from them. Go for Zip cars!!!

by Brixell on 2019/01/19 04:14
LITERALLY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’ve tried for over 3 months to get my account set up with them. The first time was a mistake on my part, I tried using a temporary license, and they do not allow that. Okay, understandable. The other 2 months of avoiding my emails and not responding to me and locking me out of my account was very unnecessary. Seriously, just email me back. It’s not complicated. I’ll gladly get on a scary city bus rather than use this service. Peace to you and your team, I would have gladly paid for your service, but your loss.

Worst Costumer Service I’ve ever received
by Joe 1738 on 2019/01/16 15:18
I have applied to Car2Go in November. I have been chasing Car2Go to review my application for over 2 months. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ACTUAL RESPONSE. I’ve called over 25 times (phone logs to prove it) and emailed well above 10+ times. This company is complete joke and waste of time. I’m literally trying to support this company and offended I can’t get a legit response to my application.
Just... wow
by G3tglam on 2019/01/16 01:34
On two separate occasions I have tried to register to utilize this service. Both times I have had issues with registering. Still unsuccessful. Both occasions I have emailed “customer service” I even included of my issue on the second. Both times I NEVER heard back from anyone! I got the email informing me it’d be 3-5 business days to get a response. The first email was roughly 3.5-4 weeks ago and the second was about 2 weeks ago. I thought this would be a useful service for someone such as myself. I normally bike, bus or Lyft. But the frustration I’ve received from just trying to register leaves me with the feeling that if I were to actually be able to use the app, it’d result in a head ache. The words “hidden fees” keep flickering. Unfortunately I won’t know. I would of easily tried the service but based on the frustration from just trying to register.... I think I’ll just pass all together. 🙄🙄

by ChiTider on 2019/01/10 00:42
I could list all the problems I’ve had with Car2go but it’s too much work. Any problems you have will either be an hour on the phone or waiting three days to a week trying to get a response. And they won’t actually fix anything then that’s just to confirm your problem. Zipcar May be more expensive but it is FAR superior.

Cars are ok, service is awful
by Notthebestreview on 2019/01/02 19:49
When you can find a car that doesn’t have low gas or low tire pressure, the cars are great! There’s lots around Portland and easy to start up and go. I’ll echo others, though, in that their customer service has always been awful. From the moment you reach someone they sound disgruntled and uninterested. They’re impatient when answering questions, and offer a lot of “I don’t know, is there anything else I can help you with?”. I can call inquiring about the same issues and get three different answers from three different reps, including different answers as to how many days my issues will resolved. I’ve had the same billing issue unresolved through four phone calls over two weeks. But nobody cares about how they treat their customers - others would refund money at least for a two week struggle with their systems. I suspect when they say things are being worked on, they just hang up and go on to the next call without actually putting in any work.

I have downloaded application to see wgat is going on in here. I have registered right after that i ve charged $5 as under the name of registration fee. I called customer service and kindly asked to deactivate my account and refund that ridiculous fee. She was not helpful nor friendly and gave me the wrong information. I am told that they cant refund that registration fee. Which I have just talked someone else in customer service. He told me they can actually. Then I noticed that i have been keeping charged as under the name of credit $5 every week. I am still fighting to be refund those money. Eventually I can use my dispute option but before that I am trying my chance on a nice way with cs. I still have a hope there should be a profetional person who can give a proper service.

by onewhogotaway92 on 2018/12/15 14:42
All I’m trying to do is update the phone number on my account. Since I forgot my password, the password recovery email contains a link that makes you verify your phone number with a verification code. So, I’m trying to update my account so I can actually receive the verification code. My god, the customer service team is beyond incompetent. The first person I reached out to hung up on me. The second person kept telling me to just wait until I receive the email, which doesn’t solve my problem. I kept explaining to her that the issue is my phone number isn’t correct, so I’m not receiving the verification codes. But no matter how clearly I was explaining the issue to the customer service team, they were not getting what the problem is. So, I’m uninstalling this app. It shouldn’t have to be pulling teeth just trying to update your phone number on an account if you get locked out.
Cant update drivers license info
by MoeMasterC on 2018/12/13 22:31
After signing up and getting locked out due to a “blurry drivers license photo”, I was informed by customer service to reupload my drivers license picture through the app. They don’t realize that their app does not allow this option, even if your account gets unlocked. After repeated attempts of emailing them a clearer photo of my drivers license, I’m still unable to book a car or update my information. I am not the only person who have had this issue. Please update your app.
No thank you.
by KT_928 on 2018/12/13 20:32
I haven’t even gotten approved yet and chose to delete my account and opt-out. Received this email saying that my account has been locked and that I need to give them a call. I did call them and they were asking for “driver abstract” from DMV. I was like Zipcar, maven and others don’t do all that, what’s the hustle!!! I reached out to DMV and turned out that I will need to apply for it, open and account, pay a fee and then you’ll get this abstract. I stopped what I was doing and knew that the title is clear for what service I’m mostly walking into. Not worth it at all guys, time, effort and even price. Vast majority of cars are two seat smart cars and very very few ~5% CLA/GLA. Over priced compared to Zipcar at least. Lots of work needs to be done, seems they did not study the market well enough.
They switched to on-demand rating
by MichaelNordmeyer on 2018/12/09 10:06
car2go switched to on-demand rating in my town. While low-demand leads to lower prices, high-demand leads to higher prices. Because I use cars mostly in (most likely high-demand) city centers, rates will effectively go up. As if people would check pricing before renting a car. They either need it or not. And low-demand pricing won’t make me use a car just because it’s cheaper. It’s just way of extracting more money from customers and hide price increases, because they are not obliged to make demand criteria public and can change them on a whim.
Use a different company if you can
by spaniard4evr on 2018/12/09 04:45
These guys used to be amazing. But the have let themselves go to hell....... Their cars are dirty as hell, some of them have no gas in them and even needing Maintanance!!! In My last ride I was told by their customer service that I had to stop driving the car ASAP and to pull over and stop the car...... I was in the middle of the worst part of town and I had no other vehicle to get me to where I was going. The lady on the phone could care less!!!! I hope this helps you guys in making your decision.
Userbility and Customer Service is Lacking
by Adyceum on 2018/12/08 23:50
The app is useless. To update or solve any issues I am rerouted to a website; where I have to log in again and go through the troubleshooting all over. It’s a waste of time and the Customer Service has no idea what they are doing. They claim their hands are tied and their system is controlled by the accountants. I was told my account would be active in 24 hours instead 5 days later it may be available.
I was blocked before I could sign up?
by MrTCAM77 on 2018/12/08 19:30
I recently moved to a city with car sharing apps available. I was so excited after using Reach Now and wanted to try more cars, so I downloaded Car2go since I also see them around the city. I signed up and within 24 hrs was notified my account had been locked and I needed to contact support. I did, and have not heard back in 2 weeks! Funny though, cause I also got an automated email that my driving information had been approved, but the app won’t allow me to do anything until my account is unlocked. I don’t care at this point, cause I’ll be giving my money to other services that actually work! What a shame.
Actually not free parking
by Tony#1845 on 2018/12/08 08:35
The whole point of me signing up for this service was so I can go from point A to B without the hassle of managing parking. But then you billed me a parking ticket. That’s YOUR problem to figure out.
BE CAREFUL!
by jensuzhof on 2018/12/07 01:22
I have been using car2go for two years. I kind of hate it but I can’t afford a car so it comes in handy for running errands I. A city with bad public transportation. For two years I have parked the car2go in my apartment complex without incident. Until today when suddenly with no warning $350 was taken from my bank account.
Dirty Cars!
by Antonernst on 2018/12/05 21:02
I like the convenience of getting a car quickly in my neighborhood in Brooklyn and the app has worked fine for me. But be aware that even short trips end up costing more than ride sharing services and most importantly: The cars are almost always really dirty. Car2go does apparently not sanction its customers for making a mess, and it shows.
TOO FEW Mercedes Benz in Brooklyn
by everdream3000 on 2018/11/26 04:02
Compare to other cities within the United States , Brooklyn has the least amount of Mercedes Benz only 6 or 8 . DC,TEXAS or Chicago THEY HAVE MORE THAN 20 . on weekends is very difficult to get hold of a Mercedes in Brooklyn because people usually reserve them for 24 hrs or 48 hrs ... with that being said... PLEASE DEPLOY MORE MERCEDES IN BROOKLYN . SO THAT PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO RESERVE ONE WHENEVER THEY WANT AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT FOR THE PREVIOUS USER TO END HIS OR HER RESERVATION . In addition it would be great if every car was equipped with an EZ-pass transponder. sometimes, we want to go across bridges and tolls and some tolls don’t allow cash . So please consider that . ➕bring more Mercedes to Brooklyn . ➕add ez-pass transponders on all the cars 🚙 🚘 or at least on the 4 doors sedans . ➕Add a gas ⛽️ card on the 4 doors cars . ➕expand the amount of miles you can travel to 350 or 400 miles . ➕ create mini home 🏠 areas of 3 or 4 square miles around queens and Staten Island . 🔴 bring at least 30 Honda Odyssey mini vans and 30 full size vans equipped with E-ZPass to Brooklyn so that if someone wants to move from one apartment to another or if somebody wants to buy a mattress or furniture, a full size van and minivans will come very handy ..remember people have to move from point a to point b. But people also need to haul stuffs around . 👁‍🗨👁‍🗨🔔🔜. Do all these requests and I’ll guarantee that you will beat the competition. As a matter of fact if you do this you will have No competition because you will be the best empire of car sharing company ever . THANKS.
Horrible customer service.
by Nick Perrelli on 2018/11/22 00:00
So i owe a payment to them that I’m trying to pay back. I proceeded to call customer service and the operator had NO idea what she was talking about. Apparently - if you want to go ahead and pay the app back also you can unlock your account for further consumption, no matter what situation your in you need to wait till the Morning for the application to automatically debit you. Are you serious?!?!? I really don’t know how I feel about this anymore.
No cars in Florida????
by uJudgMe on 2018/11/19 18:23

Stop skimping on maintenance!
by blarf999 on 2018/11/09 03:43
I love using Car2go, it’s extremely convenient for me, but 90% of the cars I use have a message on the dash saying maintenance is waaaay overdue, needs wiper fluid, low tire pressure, etc. When employees fill the cars with gas why aren’t they addressing these issues?!?! Any other issue I have is with other drivers and their laziness/sloppiness. Some people just don’t know how to share.
Useless customer service/support
by Peighh on 2018/11/06 19:00
Appalled by the slow and unsatisfactory customer service from here. No regard for customer urgency. Signed up n registered but had an issue with the drivers license part. I gave my drivers license from my country PLUS international drivers license permit (since I’m living in Washington DC for 4months) then they said they need a DC license. Explained my situation and they said they’d call back in 3 business days. A week later I called n held on for AT LEAST 20mins to get a consultant or whatever n she promised to call in 24 hrs after forwarding my info. This was 4weeks ago! PATHETIC!
Customer service needs a serious revamp
by DCnick2015 on 2018/11/04 19:51
I love car2go as a service. It’s usually so convenient but the customer service is seriously outdated. I updated my payment method (and mind you I got no indication there was an issue with my card they just locked the account) and they said it should take 3-5 business days to get back to me. It should be able to just go through with the payment. Totally absurd.
Intentionally misleading prices
by Ughh 347268536843 on 2018/11/04 18:42
Horrible customer service and passive aggressive. This is the worst version of car share although the only game in town unfortunately. I wish Car2Go were more like Citi Bike

Garbage user experience
by Apple12587 on 2018/11/02 21:09
My billing address was out of date. But they don’t preauthorize your payment information to check that when you make a reservation (pretty basic stuff!), so, apparently, I didn’t get charged for two $8 and $4 rides. Worse, they don’t notify you or send you a text / email that you haven’t paid. Instead, they just lock you out of the app, and you’ll only find out when you were counting getting a ride! Even if you update your payment info, you still can’t ride. Instead, you have to call customer service, wait on hold forever, and then verbally authorize a payment for the old rides. Think you’re done and can finally get a ride? Ha! Sucker. No, you must wait 2-3 business days (that is Wednesday, if it’s a Friday) before you can get back into the app. Garbage system designed by people who have no idea what they’re doing.
trying to sign up and scan my DL was a terrible fail!
by johnatchgo on 2018/11/01 07:33
App refused to scan back of license. (Perhaps millennial license backs look different than mine, renewed in 2015). Was such a waste of time, with no instructions on alternate ways to submit.

Suggestion to the developers
by soon2Bdoctor on 2018/10/24 18:40
The app is good, but I think it would be excellent if we could report maintenance issues through the app. For example, I have rented several cars with low tire pressure. One day I had a car with dangerously low pressure in one tire. The only way to report the issue was to call customer service. I was instructed to park and switch cars. I was on my way to work and switching cars made me late. I have also seen notifications on the dash stating that the car was overdue for routine maintenance. I would bet that nobody calls to report this stuff because they don’t want to go through the hassle of calling. Maybe they’re on their way to work, or a meeting, or the airport. If you could add something like the report damages option that allows someone to report these issues by spending a few extra seconds I bet more people would do it, and by extension we would have a well maintained fleet of cars. Otherwise, I have no issues with the app. Thank you!
The WORST car sharing app ever
by Rui97910 on 2018/10/22 02:35
I registered and submitted my license and guess what, my account was locked before I even start a ride. And when I call the costumer service their super HELPFUL officer just kept saying that the decision was final without told me WHY they made such a wise decision. Later I applied for Zipcar with the same license and passed the evaluation. Thanks to cartogo I start using Zipcar which is less expensive & more costumer friendly.
Nice and Convenient
by Mmichare on 2018/10/21 23:33
Been using Car2Go ever since getting rid of my old car, and although it’s been taking a little getting used to, this has really helped in the meantime. It hasn’t been difficult to find a car and parking is easy.
Love it
by namkcilg on 2018/10/15 23:58
I’ve always experienced excellent customer service through car2go, unlike other car share companies in my area. They admit fault and are quick to compensate with free minutes. Customer service agents are friendly and helpful. The cars are usually in great condition and the tanks are full. Love the new trip pricing options—wish there was a 30-minute choice.

Great cars and app, but service makes it useless
by abefroman12345678 on 2018/10/13 20:26

Horrible upkeep and dangerous to drive
by Annoyedjjp1980 on 2018/10/11 04:42
I’ve taken about 30 car2go rides and had to stop due to so many safety issues. From dangerously low tire pressure where the dash kept alarming me to driver sensor errors where the car would suddenly brake for no reason while doing 55. Also the cars are always filthy and nobody cleans up after themselves. Tired of the issues and customer service does not exist.

Not great range
by lesslulu on 2018/10/07 16:50
I LOVE the concept of this type of ride sharing. Oftentimes I just need a ride in one direction. It’s now available in Chicago, however, the map range isn’t great. It omits some big neighborhoods in the north side of the city (such as Lincoln Park) and doesn’t go into the suburbs at all which is how I’d mostly use it. If I’m going somewhere within the city - public transit or Uber makes more sense. I’d need this for a longer trip where Uber would be insanely expensive. If the map ever expands West near Naperville, I will 100% re-download this app and become a frequent user. Til then, removing from my phone.

Change your security identifiers!
by Loveamberlee on 2018/09/22 00:05
I got locked out of my acct and they asked me to give them the last 4 digits of the credit card on file. Credit cards get lost/stolen. It should not be one of the security identifiers to get into an acct! This makes it difficult for those with updated cards and those that don’t have time to long into the acct online to update it when they are worried about transportation to their destination! Literally the most frustrated customer service I have ever encountered this morning.

I’ve been emailing them for literally months trying to get my account reactivated. My license had expired, so they requested a new license and driving history. I’ve supplied this multiple times. It takes weeks for anyone to respond and when they do, they don’t read your prior responses.

Horrible customer service
by Mms542 on 2017/12/05 15:23
Recently they debuted a new pricing structure under the guise of giving their customers more options. You now select what measure of time you want to be charged for before your ride. It’s actually just a very non-consumer friendly way to squeeze more money out of their customers per ride. Without ANY improvements. Specifically, having more/better customer service agents. You will wait at least 30 minutes on hold to talk to a human, even if you’re experiencing a problem with your current rental. Maybe your car won’t unlock (while you’re being charged and cannot rent another), your rental won’t end, whatever - you’ll wait 30 minutes. I once had to take an Uber because I waited FORTY minutes for a customer service agent while my car wouldn’t unlock and my card was being charged. You will wait 3-4 business days for a response to an email. And then when they inevitably respond with something totally unhelpful and you respond, you’ll wait another 3-4 business days to hear back. Just invest in more expedient customer service, keep the old pricing structure but raise the per minute/hour/day rates, and I’ll be a happy customer again. TLDR; not transparent with pricing, poor customer service, but useful when it works. Look elsewhere if there’s another service available in your area.
Faulty car. No remorse.
by lee1928374 on 2018/05/06 22:26
I had a bad experience while using a vehicle to take a trip to CT from Brooklyn. It was during the winter and the car did not have windshield wiper fluid. This is a minor fix but still inconvenient and dangerous. The real issue came from when the side view mirror kept turning inwards making it difficult and dangerous to see during highway driving. I reported all of this when I returned from my trip. Customer service said they would be in touch with a resolution. One month later and no response I started an email correspondence regarding this. After some back and forth and the different agents they offered me 10 minutes of free drive time to make up for the bad experience. Hardly enough for the horrible condition the car was inand the dangerous driving that caused, in my opinion. Not to mention they overcharged me... They told me I should have gotten out of the car and ended the trip as soon as something seemed wrong. Great! Then I would be stranded in CT, thanks for that idea! Overall I would not recommend this service unless you don't mind a bad experience when and if something goes wrong or cars that may potentially be faulty and dangerous.

Terrible customer service
by Crownbl on 2018/02/08 21:20
It’s hard to believe that a response time from customer service would be longer than 24 hours in this day and age, but no, Car2go takes it back to the dawn of the digital age - a whopping 7-10 business days is what they suggest will be their response time. And sure enough, after multiple issues with the app upon signup (took me 3 weeks before I was actually able to drive!) I went back and forth with their customer service and the first request took 9 days before they responded and responses after that generally 4-5 days. Incredible especially given that they have a digital product. Simply unacceptable. Customer experience is inclusive of ALL products, and while the new Mercedes fleet is nice, don’t expect the app to work well or to be able to have your problem fixed in a timely manner.
Just... wow
by G3tglam on 2019/01/16 01:34
On two separate occasions I have tried to register to utilize this service. 🙄🙄
Very disappointing

Last week I needed to get a rental car for few hours in Seattle so I decided to give Car2Go a try. The experience of signing up was very poor - several days, emails and telephone conversations (following 20-30 minutes of holding music each time) later I still wasn’t good to pick up one of their cars. Instead, I had to get a “traditional” rental and my Car2Go signing up fee was never waived/reimbursed. I have to now dispute it with AmEx. Please note that Car2Go is subcontracting a company in India to carry out the signing up process so it might take much longer than “download the app and go!” as they falsely advertise. Additionally, without my permission, Car2Go put me on their marketing list and is currently spamming my mailbox, which is a clear violation of the GPRD. I was in touch with David from member servies, whom I specifically asked to be reimbursed and removed from the marketing list - he never replied.

Long time member giving up on Car2Go
by .jay on 2018/02/06 03:31
I started my membership in 2013. Prices were lower, customer service agents were easy to get hold of, if I had an issue I’d be reimbursed in minutes, and they regularly had events to get free minutes or discover new things (like one time they had free smoothies at a Mercedes dealership and gave away sunglasses). I feel like it’s different now. Also, the experience varies from city to city I guess. For instance, I started in Portland where parking was easier because they made a deal with the city (of course, because Portland). In NYC however, it’s a nightmare. I’ll waste $10 just looking for a parking spot and the cars are always gross. But that’s because NYC is gross and overcrowded. Anyway, with the ever-rising prices and new pre-rental pricing plans, I’m over it. It’s been great, Car2Go, but I’m done.
Trip Packages are going to cost you more money
by Natedog3232 on 2017/10/24 17:35
I used to love car2go. They have lots of vehicles in places where I need a ride and are easy to find parking for when finished. They are now rolling out a new pricing structure called Trip Packages. You have to decide if you are going to keep the car for the per minute rate, 1 hour, 3 hours, or more BEFORE you rent. If you choose per minute then you no longer get the hourly rate after around 36 minutes. Living in a big city many trips are dependent on traffic and I do not usually know how long I will need it ahead of time. This is a sneaky way for them to make more money from customers who don’t estimate their rental time perfectly before it starts. Please keep the old rate structure possible too or you will have a lot of unhappy customers!
Bad custumer service and Money trap
by huseyin caner on 2019/01/02 03:05
I have downloaded application to see wgat is going on in here.
Decent and convenient.
by ChocolatteThunderr on 2018/01/13 11:41
So this was my first try with car sharing apps and overall I would say they aren't too bad. The app itself is very easy to navigate. I'm in Ohio, and there are ALOT of cars so you never have to travel too far for use. I would suggest bigger models in this location though, the smaller ones don't do too much assistance with my bigger errands. A few times vehicles have had flat tires and once, the defrost didn't work and I've had to interact with customer service. They seem clueless if you aren't asking questions directly about the car such as navigation and where certain things are inside. But overall it isn't that bad. I'd recommend it to friends.
Much better than reach
by gerber60 on 2018/07/20 13:43
So the reach cars have made it so complicated to get a car, I’m not using them anymore, I was late for work because of their new system, wanted me to put up address in or I was going, all I knew was I was going to work I don’t know the address of my work by heart, once you get in the car it takes almost 4minutes for the system to start up,Once I got out and end of the trip it’s still said that I had to reserve the car what a bunch of BS, please please don’t change your way of Renting cars, you guys are the best
There are less cars now and they’re more expensive
by Turleela on 2017/11/01 11:09
It’s impossible to find a Smart car2go in a residential area after 7-7:30am. Sometimes there are big ones, but those are too expensive for the morning commute. They used to have both the old and new Smart ones available. Now it’s only the new ones, and it seems like there are less. On top of that, they’ve expanded to more locations in the DMV area without increasing the amount of cars. So again, it’s impossible to find a car unless you reserve it at 6am now. Prices went up in 2017 from $.32 to $.41 per minute. And from $10 to $15 an hour. Those are increases of approximately 20 and 30% respectively. For worse service.
Excessive fees and unkept vehicles
by sarah2626 on 2018/08/10 21:40
I am disappointed with my interactions with car2go over the last few months. Most of the cars I have gotten in have not been kept up with. Tires very low on air, engine lights on and general dirtiness. It does not seem like they are routinely checking their vehicles. To top it off, I just received a bill for 478 dollars after the vehicle was towed. I am always careful to not park in spaces that are ineligible. Although the signage in the City of Seattle can often make that difficult. I was okay with paying the 278 dollars that towing requires, but the other 200 is given to car2go and I find that ridiculous! Most of us are using this app because we cannot afford a car. I do not recommend car2go.
Idiotic policy
by Greg Wertsch on 2018/03/06 00:36
I’m a loyal Car2go user and go on vacation and plan on using it to get around. Upon arriving at my destination I open the car2go app and find out but I have an outstanding balance. It’s $12. Due to this I’m unable to use car to go. I immediately go into the app and update my credit card information. I was dismayed to find out that you cannot pay an outstanding balance via the application. You have to call-in. I immediately called in and was unable to get a live person. It directed me to email them. I emailed them and I was dismayed to find out they could take up to a week for them to get back to you. Once they got back to me I learned I had to use the email that they sent me to then call them again to get them to process the payment. For an innovative application company, you think they’d have a better way to handle this. Needless to say I can never rely upon car to go as a legitimate travel option. When I asked the call center operator why the policy was like this, he said that’s just the way it is. It won’t be fixed. Fail.
Too many tech bugs, Unreliable
by Kachzim on 2017/10/31 13:47
If this wasn’t the ONLY option for me to get my dog around the city, I would not be using the service. I’ve have FAR too many technical issues that this service isn’t reliable. I’ve had problems with starting the rental (won’t recognize I’m the one who reserved it, etc.), problems ending the rental (won’t allow me to end, etc.), and all kinds of gas/tire/other service issues. I can’t be sure that I’ll be anywhere on time with this service. But like I said, it’s my only way to transport my dog. So I use it as little as I can. If the weather is nice we’ll walk the 1.5 miles to the vet instead.
The WORST customer service!
by jack2652 on 2018/07/25 00:47
I got a parking ticket in car2go almost 2 months ago. All of my info was up to date, so charging me for it should not have been an issue. Instead they suspended my account without telling me why, or how much I owed. I was told I needed to email them to resolve things, so I did, and got an automatic reply saying they would get back to me in 3-5 business days, this is what happens with all their emails and they do not honor that time frame. Long story short, it’s been almost two months, they haven’t charged me for my ticket, and my account is still inactive. Talk about idiotic and incompetent: paying a company should be the easiest thing a customer can do!
Used to be good.
by Eloins on 2018/06/22 18:37
Customer service is beyond terrible. They cant even switch different cards so that you can pay them. Constantly telling me to go onto the app and do things myself. What sense does it make to call them if the representative cant do anything. Ive legit given this company thousands of dollars and they still can let me use a car unless they recieve payment but whe. i call to pay, it takes a week for it to go thru. Most of all i cant even pay for the balance thru my phone. i have to call or email. Its 2018 for crying out loud. What kind of user experience is that i cant pay my balance thru phone and have to call to get terrible representative service
Deceptive pricing; Non-working Promotion, Bad Customer Service
by Tom10135 on 2017/09/14 14:03
Car2Go's website says that renting a car is $85 a day. Before I started my first trip, I called to confirm that the trip would cost $85. A customer service representative confirmed it. My trip was $103. It turns out there's a 19.8% tax. This is on the website, but not in the big pricing callout circles, and not easy to find. I'm also confused about why my customer service representative didn't tell me about it when I asked how much it would cost me to rent the car for a day. Car2Go also promised a $10 driving credit. I didn't get it. When I called, they couldn't just fix the issue—they told me they'd have to escalate it to member services. They never got back to me. I called again and learned that they would give me a $10 credit off my next trip, but not the first trip, as they advertised. The service is convenient, and my car worked fine, but I feel like the company was trying to deceive me, and I will never use the service again.
Convenient!
by Repalviglator on 2018/06/16 19:10
Car2go is super convenient! There is usually one nearby and if there’s not, you can set an alert to tell you when there is one in a certain radius. The smart cars make it easy to park because you can fit in spots other cars can’t. Rentals automatically end if you put the key back in its holder and get out of the car. You can reserve a car for free for 30 minutes before you get to it’s location.
Garbage customer service and garbage company
by Sachiko.0416 on 2017/12/11 18:02
Horrible service. Multiple times the trip wouldn’t end i ended up waiting on the phone for what seems like forever to talk to someone who didn’t even know how to help me.. also made me late to work and there are never any vehicles in my neighborhood which is super annoying since they don’t refund the money for the minutes you have to stay on the phone talking to customer service while your rental is running, they give you free driving time.. but good luck finding a vehicle. Also I’ve found that ReachNow is cheaper it’s .41 cents per minute and my 20 min trip is $10 with them, with car 2 go it’s $14.
Car not there
by BobInDC on 2018/06/18 01:06
I love C2G when it works as planned and you don’t need to call customer service. Twice in my last 8 or 10 rentals, the car I reserved was not there even though gps map said it was. I searched for it, but no luck. I THINK either c2g has glitches Or people park the car in an indoor garage so they can selfishly have the car later. Either way it was very annoying and costly (taxi) since I had to be somewhere and there were no other c2g cars nearby. I’m also writing to customer service. Calling c2g has always resulted in at least 10+ minutes on hold waiting for operator.
1000x more reliable than ReachNow
by April Pride on 2017/10/17 16:54
once again I reserved a ReachNow because it was the closest to my location. when I arrived the signal wasn't strong enough to rent the car. after five minutes on the phone with customer service they were still unable to get a signal to work. so - once again - I went to the car2go app, reserved a car and all was completely seamless. every time car2go is my hero!
The best
by Passive voyeur on 2018/05/03 23:05
I use Car2Go almost every day, and literally don’t need to own a car because of it. Having primarily Benz cars on the road now offers consistency and quality experience that actually inspires me NOT to purchase a car. Also if there are ever issues, usually cigarette scent or someone else’s garbage in the car, Car2Go staff supports me immediately by offering future complimentary rides. So thankful for this ridesharing resource in my city.
Registration Was a Joke
by DireRob on 2018/04/11 13:08
I received multiple random error messages during registration while at home connected to wi-fi. License photo uploading failed the first time with no error messages, just like, poof, gone. Then CC info was marked as incomplete after receiving an alert from Amex that they were actually able to charge the card. So they just failed to save it after charging me. Throw in the fact I was logged out twice during this process gives me little hope for my happiness with the service. Luckily I was home, if I was out and about and in need of a car immediately I’d have had an aneurysm.
Love it
by namkcilg on 2018/10/15 23:58
I’ve always experienced excellent customer service through car2go, unlike other car share companies in my area. They admit fault and are quick to compensate with free minutes. Customer service agents are friendly and helpful. The cars are usually in great condition and the tanks are full. Love the new trip pricing options—wish there was a 30-minute choice.
Terrible service and Terrible Customer service
by JoShmo1000 on 2018/07/27 21:26
Learn from my mistake - Don't ever consider using Car2Go!!! I was recently given $10 in credit and I was excited to try the new smart cars provided by Car2Go. Big mistake, I should've taken the subway. The rules required when parking made it so that the ride which took me 20 minutes ended up totaling one hour - 40 minutes of which I was just looking for parking. Ridiculous!!! And when I finally found a parking spot and parked the app didn't allow me to close out, becuase even though I was in the zone, I was on the side of the street where the zone doesn't allow you to park. It seems that this app in cities is designed to trick you with all the onerous rules around parking. I don't intend to use Car2Go within cities anymore. The trip cost me $25 and took me an hour. It would've taken me 20 minutes and cost me only $2.75 had I taken the subway. Don't ever consider using Car2Go!!!
Poor customer service
by Kingdanrew on 2018/07/05 05:48
I called regarding an issue with one of there cars on multiple occasions. I had waited about 30-40 minutes until someone pick up and gave me little to no information on anything just inform me that I will get an email. I emailed car 2 go and they said I would get a response in 3-5 business day it’s been 2 months now and I haven’t receive any email. My personal experience with app is horrible I won’t recommend it to anyone and honestly save your money cause the amount issues the cars give you and the poor customer service it’s not worth it.
What problem does car2go solve?
by BPed on 2018/03/17 13:57
I can’t think of a scenario where car2go ever makes sense. I signed up (which was NOT a seamless process) and looked at the pricing structure and it never makes sense. I’d rather Uber on short trips because Uber comes straight to my door and I don’t have to park it AND it’s cheaper than car2go, so short trips don’t make sense. Day rates are really expensive with car2go so why wouldn’t I just go to Avis/Hertz/Enterprise and get a car that isn’t embarrassing to drive, for much cheaper? Is “convenience” the answer? Because I’d argue it’s more convenient to Uber to Avis.
Total waste of my time!!!
by funktastic5323 on 2018/04/11 01:54
I set up my account two weeks in advance before going on vacation. My family and I get to Portland, we make plans for the evening, I go to reserve a car and find out that my account has been locked! I call customer support only to be told that someone will get back to me in 24 HOURS!! I never received any notification that my account had been locked and they had my email and phone number. To make matters worse, the woman I spoke to made me give ALL MY INFORMATION! Full name, birthday, email, credit card #! All for nothing! Terrible customer service!
If You Ended Up Here .. Turn Around
by PoshGotti on 2019/02/27 05:15
Recommended to me by a friend.
Terrible Customer Service
by Craigstra88 on 2018/07/19 12:19
My credit card expired and I was locked out of my account. Something so common would have an easy solution. But no ... I had to contact customer service because my credit card expired. I tried calling. Never got through. Submitted an email almost a month ago. Never heard back. Submitted another. Never heard back. Replied to the same ticket over and over: no response. I finally realized to contact Car2Go via Facebook messenger. Finally got a response and they unlocked my account. After almost a month of not being able to use the service, all they could offer is $10 credit. Car2Go: if you read this and can offer me something more comparable to the month long inconvenience for me and lack of business for you, I will update my post. Otherwise, anyone interested in using this service, it will come with lots of headaches.
Overcharged by a couple of hours and horrible customer service
by Unhappy Apple on 2017/12/21 20:43
Several weeks ago I drove a car for about 10 minutes and ended the trip. I received feedback from the app that my trip ended, and found out hours later that I was charged $63 for a multi-hour trip. Clearly the app did something wrong so I called customer service and they said they would get back shortly. Waited a week and no response so I called them again. Same story. Car2go has lost my business until they can straighten this out. BMW’s ReachNow has been much smoother.
