Exactly What I Needed
by Orchestra Rules!! on 2019/04/21 17:53
My orchestra teacher told us about this, and I got it thinking it was only for a few things. It’s amazing! It’s a tuner, metronome, and it’s for band, orchestra, or voice. I told my friends about it and they can’t get enough. It’s perfect for us, because we’re getting our styles right on our instruments. It’s exactly what I needed to continue playing music.
Chords
by Nico di Ang3lo on 2019/04/19 20:16
It’s a great app, and I think that it would be better if it could detect chords and tune every note in the chord. Just saying.
Best tuner app

This tuner app did cost a little money, but it was worth it.There is a ton of adjustments that can be made in the app, and overall the app is very detailed.

I’m a music teacher and I couldn’t live without this app. I teach choir, band, guitar, orchestra, ukulele, and general music and am on this app all day for tuning, metronome, and tones. Its incredible and reliable. This is one of those apps that I just continue to find useful tweaks to meet the needs of a particular group. THANK YOU for creating such a useful app!!

by angsty flute on 2019/03/25 03:44
this app is amazing!!! i am a musician, and struggled with many other metronome/tuning apps. none of them worked quite right for me, until a friend recommended tonal energy to me. it’s tuner is amazing and has helped me develop a great, steady tone. i love that there are different settings for how finely you want to be tuned. it’s been very good for me as i progress in my playing. i participate in marching band and a few different concert bands and nearly everyone there has this app. you can ask most anyone who has this app and they will tell you it is 100% worth the money. it’s amazing and worth the time. my musicianship has improved so much since i’ve had tonal energy.
Awesome app

by hagai maetar on 2019/03/17 20:15
This tuner provides me with instant and accurate feedback. I’m a professional trumpet player, composer and educator. I play various wind Instruments. The display and the graphic representations of the page is extremely helpful and intuitive. This is also a very versatile application. In addition to the tuning it provides you with pedal tone, reference note, metronome and much more. I recommended hold heartedly with no reservations. Hagai Izraeli. Maetar.Com

It is really good to tune and awesome to have a metronome built into it
All you need
by ChaseMc Nugget on 2019/03/10 17:27
This tuner is so easy to use! For three dollars it is totally worth it. It has a metronome which usually cost $10. The tuner is user friendly it is also really accurate. Also you can tune multiple instrument to brass to wood winds to guitars. I love how the background is black it does not hurt your eyes and saves Battery especially iPhone 6 users. I am getting a Apple Watch⌚️📱📲 and I am excited to test the Apple Watch app. Thanks for making a tuner I actually want!

Great but what about bass, dulcimer, and piano? Also it hates my horn. I never get an accurate statement.
Tone of Instruments
by The guy whos mad at the game on 2019/02/19 23:26
Fix the tone of the Organ, because even your app registers a C1 and C0 as a C3 because the sound is so terrible. Also, adjust the range for the trombone and euphonium, and trombone can only go down to an E, while a euphonium with 4 valves can go down to a C1.
Awesome 👏

Great App, Amazing
by H.V.Information on 2019/02/06 19:23
This app exceeded my hopes, it's amazing. The realtime visual wave form teaches how the notes look in your ear and show what's going on with the sound and why it's actually impossible for a guitar string to be adjusted to 1/10 of 1 cent as Peterson is selling. I got a Peterson StroboTuner for Christmas $129 on Amazon and sent it back. This app is better. It deserves a user forum. I am using the Peterson Pitch Grabber, with this app. That's a clip on contact mic. When it's plugged in it doesn't cause the audio microphone in my phone to stop working. That's terrible because it picks up all the audible interference. I'm using the app on my Apple 5S which is updated regularly. Help with this issue would be appreciated. A remark to mtnhorn on his over sensitivity issue. There's a little box that appears when you're in the waveform mode that reads, "time" this seems to be a sampling rate. Over a long span a musical tone generated from its instrument has an excursion that produces a range of frequency throughout its "life". If you are sampling a long time then you'll see the range of frequencies. The only possible tone that can produce what you're looking to see is a pure tone from an electronic tone generator, other than that you would see what you're seeing. But if you can find that time box, touch and hold while you then slide your finger down. You will increase the rate at which the tone is evaluated. Then adjust the kind of report you need which is the "wide," "fine," whatever. Be sure to adjust the input filter which is the "voice," "strings," or "wind." Each kind of input has its own issues. I mean, imagine the human voice being rejected as an inaccurate musical input because it doesn't produce a clean, pure, DEAD tone like a tone oscillator. But by precise filtering the human voice is observable. In the "time" box you'll see that you can set the time sample rate as fast 2/100 of a second. Now watch the report of the note; nice. A note to classical guitar players. Classical strings need patience to live with. You can’t just tune these like steel strings. With this tuner you can see that you have tuned the open string ok but as you play each note along range string that some are ok, some flat or sharp. Depending on what key I’m in I can adjust to bring in the notes that I can have the tone and the intonation too. I use the wave form screen the most. Classical guitars strings from brand or model vary a lot. Segovia noted he tuned for the key he was in lest his 3rds and 10ths were sour. Yes that is true, but I wonder if he ever got to analyze the intonation of the notes on a precise instrument like TE Tuner. I paid $4.00 and TE Tuner is better than anything Peterson offers in guitar tuners. Contact me on twitter if u like. In Consideration@abc_lmnop. I've had TE Tuner for a year now. It's still the best of the best. The app manager contacted me as soon as I posted my problem with the Peterson Pitch Grabber. The fault was that I wasn't pushing the jack far enough. 🙄
A fantastic set of apps that would have cost 10’s of thousands a few years ago
by 3769tcp on 2019/02/02 18:43
If you’re a musician who wants to improve or just a casual user, this has everything you might want whether you are a string player, vocalist, or wind instrumentalist. There are several different tuning presentations (pitch wheel, keyboard, et al) which can be tailored to your particular instrument and the degree of accuracy you are able to achieve. The metronome section gives you everything you could want including count off for groups. You can also set up groups of different time signatures. For example, let’s say you have a section to practice in 3/4 time, then a bar of 3/8, then it goes to 2/4 time where the eighth note is constant throughout. You can make up a group like that and follow your music to get the correct feeling of that segment. You can also see for yourself what your sound looks or how well you’re following the pitch in the spectral analytics section. You can view on a staff, or see the overtones (great for the vocalist who wants to develop that professional quality voice), or overall spectrum. You can see your attack and sustain. You can record audio and, if you want, video of your playing to match with the analysis so you can help find what might be causing a problem (embouchure, fingering, bowing etc). In short this set of tools can help you from a rank beginner to a professional musician for an absurdly low sum of under four dollars giving you a set of tools that would have cost tens of thousands of dollars a few years ago (and even then some things weren’t available).
Wonderful
by DarthVaderXXII on 2019/02/02 03:20
As a performer I play in amateur, collegiate and professional ensembles and playing in tune is a must. When practicing Tonal Energy puts all the tools I need into one app. Its wide array of different settings, available tools, and user-friendly interface allow for easy use and greatly improved playing without the cost or hassle of using a standard metronome or tuner.
Bug

I believe I found a bug when trying to play certain notes back to back on the sound section wheel. The octaves keep going up for no apparent reason.

This app can tune any instrument. Also, it can tell you which notes your playing, if you’re playing sharp or flat, and has a great metronome.

Best tuner you will ever find
by 0987754346788 on 2019/01/18 23:44
Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating. But seriously, this thing has everything. A tuner. A metronome. Anything that is even remotely close to helping you in your musical career, this has it. I’m telling you, you could use an online tuner or download a free one, but this thing has way more than what you bought. Just trust me on this one.

The metronome is pretty awesome
by <-Asmodeus-> on 2019/01/01 01:12
The tuner is ok, but I prefer not to use software tuners since they pick up too much in the environment. But the metronome is surprisingly good! I really like the odd meter visualization and wheel for quick tempo selection- very intuitive! This alone is worth 5 stars.

HUGE PROBLEM, SMALL FIX
by Wow-we!!!!! on 2018/12/20 06:04
ON EACH BEAT, THE LIGHT COMES SLIGHTLY AFTER THE SOUND => BIG PROBLEM When the metronome gives a beat, the light comes slightly after what you hear. When practicing, I rely heavily on the light as a visual tracker for the rhythm, and because the metronome does this delay, I’ve been practicing each beat slightly delayed. This is a big problem for a metronome. Other metronome apps on the App Store, such as The Metronome by Soundbrenner, that are certainly not as sophisticated as TE Tuner, don’t have this issue. Please fix this ASAP so that the visual and audible are synced. Meanwhile, I’ll be using other apps for a metronome until this app is fixed.
Good app!

I love Tonal Energy! It is really easy and convenient to use. I have been playing the cello for about two years and the piano for one and this app has made it easier for me to stay in tune and on the right beat. I love the portable piano on here; when I’m bored it works as a game for me to practice my songs and start making new ones.

Loved it while it worked
by Laken E on 2018/11/17 23:34
I primarily use the drone and metronome features. Today, when doing scales, I couldn’t get the met to work. It wouldn’t adjust tempo, not that it matters since nothing happened when I pressed play. Reinstalled with same problem. I need something reliable all the time, so I’m deleting the app to have room for another. I’d love to come back to this app if it can work all the time.

Great app. You can set the tuner to be as broad or precise as you need depending on your skill level, which is useful because I'm a terrible singer, but an expert sax player. The analysis tools are great to look at if you want to improve tone. It will show you your scoops, wavering pitches, and inconsistencies in volume. The metronome is great too, but the tempo is currently capped at 1,000 bpm. Please allow us to set any tempo because i love using a really fast metronome to create a pitch. Thank you

I really like this for helping me play the flute. I wish it didn’t pick up anything else in the room and only hear the instrument that is trying to be tuned. Overall I enjoy this app very much and if you are one of those people who play and instrument you should defiantly get this app.
Good investment
by Toottoc on 2018/10/07 01:48
The app is a good investment for anyone needing a tuner and metronome. My only complaint is with the lack of explanation of the features by the designers. Even if you go to their website, directions are not user friendly.

I’ve tried a lot of tuners over the years and this one is by far the best. One of its many advantages is the resolution setting. I have my students tune the open strings at the fine or extra fine setting and then play scales starting with the wide setting and working their way up to finer settings over time.

by Breadl0l on 2018/09/25 12:18
I love this app a lot the tuning is amazing for it and I use it almost every day whenever I am practicing. The only thing that is annoying me is whenever I’m playing the metronome change speeds...I was playing at 80 and it went up to 120 and then down to 60(does this very often). I don’t know why it’s doing this or if it’s my fault but I love this app and that might be my wanting to change

This app is amazing, and it helped keep me on beat, show what note came out, and get me tuned. The one thing it does not do is tell me why I keep playing notes 1 step different than they should be. But it wouldn’t be able to do that anyway!

by Musashi642 on 2018/09/07 02:13
This App is great but it randomly records even though the app is closed.
Thank you!
by klgrego1 on 2018/09/05 16:00
The app is awesome and I use it for my band class everyday and I play French horn so it can be a hard instrument but with my awesome band teacher and this app with the tuner and much more, it makes me better everyday and I hope to see an even better version some day!! Thanks
It's OK, to me the tuner is not great
by Kkeyz on 2018/02/05 05:23
This app was highly recommended by a friend, he had used it in our vocal rehearsals to give us pitches and tempos. I bought it to try and consolidate all the functions I need in to one app. Initially I found the tuner very jumpy, and I don't like the smiley face with concentric half circles tuning model at all, so I wrote a pretty harsh review. The developer contacted me and pointed out the string tuning mode, which I initially couldn't find because it's not in the tuning section; it's under the sound tab. It makes it much easier to tune my guitar (and it has setting for many stringed instruments from viola to banjo) but if I try to sing long tones or play them on my trumpet, I'm back in the happy face tuner. In theory it should work but to me, the slightest pitch change in a long tone causes the rings to jump erratically. I think that the string mode rescued the app from deletion, and added one star to my rating, but I will still sing and play long tones into the free "pano tuner" rather than deal with the unhappy happy faces. Kudos to the developer for helping me find my way around the app. One more quick gripe, if I'm singing with the metronome playing, the app hears the click and reacts to it, so you essentially can't tune with the metronome on.
Tuner is out of tune?
by Scott'76 on 2017/11/28 22:58
I compared the tuner function against multiple korg model timers and found this app to be all over the map with the tuning. Some notes that were in tune on the korg tuners were showing 15 cents flat or sharp!! That is a problem with the app. How can you have a “tuning” app out of tune? I’ll be sticking with the korg. BTW they were both set at 440 UPDATE: I revised my original rating from 2 stars to 5. First because after a great response by the developer I discovered that I had a setting incorrect even though the Hz setting was correct. Second because of the excellent customer service! I never expected Total Energy to read my review but they did and they reacted to make sure I was satisfied. That is rare these days!!! Awesome tuner...I have since retested the App vs. the various Korg model tuners I have and they are all spot on!
AMAZING 100% WORTH THE MONEY
by angsty flute on 2019/03/25 03:44
this app is amazing!!! i am a musician, and struggled with many other metronome/tuning apps. none of them worked quite right for me, until a friend recommended tonal energy to me. it’s tuner is amazing and has helped me develop a great, steady tone. i love that there are different settings for how finely you want to be tuned. it’s been very good for me as i progress in my playing. i participate in marching band and a few different concert bands and nearly everyone there has this app. you can ask most anyone who has this app and they will tell you it is 100% worth the money. it’s amazing and worth the time. my musicianship has improved so much since i’ve had tonal energy.
This App Has No Limits
by Teddy Dunn on 2017/09/22 21:28
This app is unbelievably detailed and well-designed. It's so versatile that it can hardly be considered just a tuner app. It contains a wide variety of temperaments, and it will allow you to create some of your own. It contains just about (if not) every time signature you'll ever come across. The metronome also allows you to choose which beats are accented and which beats you'd like to take out. The app also allows you to analyze the overtones of a sound, record sounds, generate tones using sine/saw/square waves or the timbre of different musical instruments, and SO much more. I definitely think this app is a luxury that many musicians ought to know about.
Phenomenal App
by Grt002 on 2018/01/27 19:05
I am extremely grateful to the team behind this app. I use it every day in my teaching as a band director. In sectionals and even in some band rehearsals, I project the tuner onto a screen for students to use as a reference. The metronome has become more sophisticated over the years and I have found that to be useful for myself as well, and my primary instrument was percussion, so a versatile metronome is important to me. I have not used the analysis portion of the app much at all but know people who do and find it highly useful. I hope this app will continue to be developed for a long time to come. Thanks to Philip Geiger and the team for putting this together!
Amazing App — One Small Issue
by Anigo_O on 2018/06/16 00:31
First, let me just say that as a Violinist, this app is extremely helpful to me. I don’t think I could practice without it, hence its #1 ranking in the app store. Since I couldn’t find a feedback section in the app, I just wanted to mention a small issue. When creating metronome playlists, after “Use Tempo” is switched off for all the presets, the entire set does not inherit the tempo set in the header tempo box. Instead, it reverts back to the original tempo of the individual presets. Other than that, it is a really intuitive feature.
Great! One strange issue though.
by mattnmusic on 2017/06/09 04:48
App is excellent!!!! Only thing is, since about the end of May, the TE Tuner randomly turns on the mic when the app is COMPLETELY CLOSED (It's not even open in the background). A red bar comes up on the top of the screen that says that TE Tuner is using the mic. It shows up for about 3 seconds and then turns off. This has happened at least three or four times in the two weeks week. I've double checked to be sure it's not running in background. I haven't even used the tuner in two weeks! So one star off for that. Other wise great!
Apple Watch Capabilities
by Gehnnf on 2018/01/30 01:11
This app is phenomenal. There is only one big improvement that I would love to see happen on the Apple Watch app. I would love to have the capability to have the watch give haptic feedback when I use the metronome. No app does this well. I tried another app and it provides haptic feedback, but the feedback stops when the watch screen goes off. Again, I love every aspect of this application, but I, and the rest of the Apple Watch community, would LOVE to see this be implemented!
Tuner “over sensitivity”
by mtnhorn on 2017/12/26 17:38
I acquired this app on the recommendation of a fellow colleague who uses it regularly in her studio. I became frustrated with trying to hold a steady pitch (according to the app). I finally set a pure pitch on my oscilloscope and turned on the app. According to the app, my oscilloscope/pitch-generator could not hold a steady pitch. As a tuner, I find this app to be more of a frustration and a distracting discouragement than a help. A good strobe tuner works so much better that I cannot begin to extol the benefits. As far as the other functions on the app, they are very nice, probably overkill in some areas, but as a tuner, I find this more hindering than helpful.
It’s great now
by ZachgamerFTW on 2018/06/22 18:18
Normally, I would give this 5 stars because of how useful it is, but currently, it’s not working. No matter what I try, it doesn’t register any noise. I turned off my phone, and even deleted and redownloaded the up, but still nothing. My mic does work on my phone, I recorded myself and could hear perfectly fine, but want to have this fixed Edit: Not even joking, I hit the bottom of my phone while recording in app, and it fixed it
Video Issue
by Koolkid2442 on 2018/04/15 19:38
There are times when I’m recording a video and after I’m done recording I stop it, however, it doesn’t automatically stop like it normally does. Once I click it a few more times, the ‘write a name’ box pops up. That video then doesn’t have audio to it. I love the app. It’s just this small thing that makes my recording assignments take longer than expected and makes things inconvenient.
Pitch-Wheel Octave Jumps
by JViolinVGG on 2018/08/05 05:18
It is absolutely frustrating and annoying that the pitch wheel decides to jump octaves whenever I press chords in succession. I press down on a chord, release, then press down again (on the same or different chord) and it delivers it in an octave higher. It does this again and again until it peaks out in the 8th octave. There is an option to press for changing of octaves that I am not employing, but nevertheless, the jump from octave to octave is done anyways. Can the octave changes in the pitch-wheel be restricted specifically to when one presses the button for octave change? I would appreciate that enormously and gladly change my 1-Star rating to 5-Star. Thank you.
Worth the buy, but please fix the metronome
by jdskla on 2018/10/11 04:54
Thank you
Great practice aid right out of the box
by HighSpeedSpoon on 2017/09/03 16:31
I've been using TE about a week and wish I'd found it sooner. I am a wind player, and the ability to easily use and configure the tuner and metronome simultaneously is a big help to me. TE is mostly intuitive to me. I haven't spent time reading any documentation (yet). Two things I do miss in TE are a Sustained Pitch History display and a Spectrum display. I hope these will be added, but even so, I feel TE is a five star product.
Best tuner ever made.
by Sooooooooo... on 2018/01/18 21:30
I bought this app hoping I could use my Apple Watch as a tuner, standalone. turns out, this app doesn't offer that functionality -- a phone is necessary for the microphone access. It's possible this is a limitation of the watch? But I am not disappointed. The whole app is beautiful & functional... & the secret sauce is the "analysis" tab. I've never seen anything like it. Any musician should appreciate the ability to watch pitch in real-time. Good work, developers.
if I could give it 10 stars I would
by SilverWolf513 on 2018/08/12 18:31
so the reason I got this app was my jazz band teacher told everyone in my band to get it. I like the transpose feature, and i’ve even used the app for vocal work. when we practice in sections, the section leader uses a metronome, and this year i'm sure we will be using this again. this app has never failed me and all of my friends love it too.
One of the best apps for practice
by ZacharyCosmos on 2018/02/26 17:59
Trombone professor recommended this to me a few years ago and I plug it every chance I get with my friends. Just about everything you could need in a practice session - tuner (with visuals and a happy face!), metronome, tone generator, and it can record your stuff and tell you how in tune it was. Incredible. Worth much more than the price tag. 5/5 would buy again.
Great app for beginners and pros!
by Capt Pollution on 2017/09/20 17:27
I have been using the TE Tuner for a few years now and it is the best tuner I own. From being able to tune A to any frequency, to having click tracks with any beat syncopation and timing, to offering multiple digital instrument sounds and my favorite the spectrum graph that can be used to tune an audio environment, the TE Tuner has it all!! Constantly updated and has never crashed. Great app!
Wonderful
by DarthVaderXXII on 2019/02/02 03:20
As a performer I play in amateur, collegiate and professional ensembles and playing in tune is a must. When practicing Tonal Energy puts all the tools I need into one app. Its wide array of different settings, available tools, and user-friendly interface allow for easy use and greatly improved playing without the cost or hassle of using a standard metronome or tuner.
So easy and convenient!
by paycarm on 2018/11/25 23:52
I love Tonal Energy! It is really easy and convenient to use. I have been playing the cello for about two years and the piano for one and this app has made it easier for me to stay in tune and on the right beat. I love the portable piano on here; when I’m bored it works as a game for me to practice my songs and start making new ones.
AMAZING (but one little thing)
by Breadl0l on 2018/09/25 12:18
I love this app a lot the tuning is amazing for it and I use it almost every day whenever I am practicing. The only thing that is annoying me is whenever I’m playing the metronome change speeds...I was playing at 80 and it went up to 120 and then down to 60(does this very often). I don’t know why it’s doing this or if it’s my fault but I love this app and that might be my wanting to change
The best music app in the App Store

I’m a music teacher and I couldn’t live without this app. I teach choir, band, guitar, orchestra, ukulele, and general music and am on this app all day for tuning, metronome, and tones. Its incredible and reliable. This is one of those apps that I just continue to find useful tweaks to meet the needs of a particular group. THANK YOU for creating such a useful app!!
Best ever
by djlkfgh on 2018/10/01 19:45
I’ve tried a lot of tuners over the years and this one is by far the best. One of its many advantages is the resolution setting. I have my students tune the open strings at the fine or extra fine setting and then play scales starting with the wide setting and working their way up to finer settings over time.
Cheap but effective
by Koalazzzz on 2018/01/17 03:14
This app was recommended by all of my music teachers and so far it has yet to disappoint. It's nice to have everything I need in one app that actually works. I've used many tuner apps in the past that have not accurately processed the notes from my flute but this one does easily. This is a necessity for all band kids.
Amazing!!
by Sheep goat 209863c1v23 on 2018/06/03 06:40
I LOVE this app, personally being a student playing the violin and have to practice every day for a minimum 30 minutes, this app helps SO much! I saw my teacher using this app and she recommended it. I don’t know how to tune on my own but the money is WELL spent! I am forever great full I couldn’t thank you enough!!!!
Everyone needs this!
by ProJ.A.M on 2018/04/25 02:46
Everyone needs this app in my opinion (if you have a musical instrument or sing or something) you need this. My siblings and even my band private lessons teacher told me to get this app. I may have just gotten this app, but I love it already. THIS IS AN AMAZING APP (making sure I spell and use grammar correctly... big nerd)
Fabulous Tuner!!!
by Awesome Aubie on 2017/05/22 01:22
This is the best tuner ever!!! It lets you pick how "picky" you want to be with your tone shows you when you are to high or low. It has the note for several different instruments! It's definitely worth buying it, I recommend this to anyone who plays an instrument or sings! Yes... it's great for singing too!!!!
All in one app
by NateO. on 2018/07/30 14:39
As a classical musician, this app does it all. Still figuring my way around things so there might be a way to do it, but I’d like to be able to run a few of the different tools at the same time. Fortunately it’s on the App Store so I run it on my tablet and phone at the same time.
Everything you might want
by a_smiley1 on 2017/06/20 20:17
And more than you can believe. One of the most amazing apps I've used. I stick with mostly basic functions and look forward tosome lazy day when I can explore everything in this very practical musical aid. Coda: the user guide and help are very good.
Used for 4 years!
by River_Rose on 2017/05/15 00:13
This tuner has accompanied me through countless voice and horn practice sessions. It makes your life infinitely easier by transposing for you, and the tone generator is great for singing and helping beginner players to know what to aim for. And I've never seen a more comprehensive metronome. Couldn't recommend more!
Favorite app!
by pupsmom on 2018/03/29 20:42
Seriously my favorite app EVER! I use it daily for myself and my students. I love the harmonic analysis… Or use it to show my students a visual representation of their tone; I use the waveform analysis to show depth and speed of vibrato (among other things); LOVE THE SMILEY FACE on the tuner; great metronome; Great recorder! (Love that we can play it back at any speed!)
Very reliable!
by 2thew on 2017/07/14 00:59
I use the Pitch pipe and metronome all the time with my barbershop quartet (shoutout to Rob Mance of Central Standard Chorus for introducing it to us!). Mr. Happy let's us know when we have (finally) brought the pitch to where the chord can ring! We rely on TE Tuner during our rehearsals and are very pleased with it. It's not worth considering another app!
Great app lots of features
by RemusLupin444 on 2019/04/03 21:27
This app is great it is also very customizable to most instruments and there is also a voice setting. Also includes metronome and sound wheel. Very helpful sound analysis section as well. No ads either. Very good use of 4 dollars !
Thank you!

TE tuner is a very helpful tuner that provides many features such as a tuner, metronome and many more. I get so exited about this app, because it has everything a musician could ask for- for free! I would definitely suggest this app for any and all musicians.
Great but can improve
by TheRevoew on 2018/08/01 20:05
I feel like this tuner is very straight forward easy to use and has a lot in one convenient place. It is obviously not free but the 3 USD is in my opinion totally worth it This app is a must have for any musican because it has literally every key imaginable in the metronome section. There is a place to see tuning tendencies in real time between different notes (in a graph format). I would add a decibel sensor or something along those line to sense forte and piano dynamics along with the secondary tuning section Overall a great buy and amazing job developers
Overall really great
by 12frank3lin on 2018/08/05 20:11
Compared to other apps, this one is a no brainer. Pitch pipe, tuner, and a complex metronome. Only thing that I would ask the developer to change would be to update the interface. Make it more modern. Anyways it’s still 100% worth every penny.
Great App and Support
by Armando Ghitalla on 2017/05/09 16:36
This app does everything I've ever needed and in one app! I literally use it every day. I had one problem with my ability to access the metronome from the drone page. I asked the developer about it and it was in the very next update! Love this app!
I love it!
by Mia Caten on 2018/09/15 22:34
This app is amazing, and it helped keep me on beat, show what note came out, and get me tuned. The one thing it does not do is tell me why I keep playing notes 1 step different than they should be. But it wouldn’t be able to do that anyway!
Perfect!
by Bobafett164 on 2017/12/27 05:49
I am a beginner musician and this app really does have everything for vocals to instruments! About the only thing it doesn't do is wash cars and fold laundry... my bet is that they'll get that handled in the next version ;) seriously I cannot be more happy with this app.
Best musician app for playing and teaching!
by Trumpetdude29 on 2017/08/01 18:08
One request (if possible): as a brass player, I like to use drones in fifths while practice lip slurs. Would it be possible to include a simple button to change the drone up and down a half step and keep the same temperament?
One of my many useful music apps
by nikkystyx on 2017/08/17 15:16
Not only is the turning function impressive on this app, but the metronome is also very useful. My students enjoy using the tuner because of the "reward" you get when something is in tune
Musicians best friend
by EggrollDragon on 2017/05/07 18:55
After years of trying different metronomes and tuners, I have yet to find anything as affordable and effective as the Tonal Energy app. This is quite literally the greatest tool a musician can have in his/her arsenal. I always recommend this to anyone in need of a tuner/metronome.
This is my go to practice app.
by 1939_2B-Liberty on 2018/11/08 01:39
I’m a trombone player and have been very happy with all of the features included in this one app. It’s got everything I need for working on my sound, intonation, time, etc. A great all-in-one app for working on technique.
The metronome is pretty awesome
by <-Asmodeus-> on 2019/01/01 01:12
The tuner is ok, but I prefer not to use software tuners since they pick up too much in the environment. But the metronome is surprisingly good! I really like the odd meter visualization and wheel for quick tempo selection- very intuitive! This alone is worth 5 stars.
Tonal Tuner
by I Ship This on 2018/10/09 21:57
I really like this for helping me play the flute. I wish it didn’t pick up anything else in the room and only hear the instrument that is trying to be tuned. Overall I enjoy this app very much and if you are one of those people who play and instrument you should defiantly get this app.

Its incredible and reliable. This is one of those apps that I just continue to find useful tweaks to meet the needs of a particular group. THANK YOU for creating such a useful app!!
Great app lots of features

This app is great it is also very customizable to most instruments and there is also a voice setting. Also includes metronome and sound wheel. Very helpful sound analysis section as well. No ads either. Very good use of 4 dollars !

this app is amazing!!! i am a musician, and struggled with many other metronome/tuning apps. none of them worked quite right for me, until a friend recommended tonal energy to me. it’s tuner is amazing and has helped me develop a great, steady tone. i love that there are different settings for how finely you want to be tuned. it’s been very good for me as i progress in my playing. i participate in marching band and a few different concert bands and nearly everyone there has this app. you can ask most anyone who has this app and they will tell you it is 100% worth the money. it’s amazing and worth the time. my musicianship has improved so much since i’ve had tonal energy.
Awesome app

This tuner provides me with instant and accurate feedback. I’m a professional trumpet player, composer and educator. I play various wind Instruments. The display and the graphic representations of the page is extremely helpful and intuitive. This is also a very versatile application. In addition to the tuning it provides you with pedal tone, reference note, metronome and much more. I recommended hold heartedly with no reservations. Hagai Izraeli. Maetar.Com

Wonderful

As a performer I play in amateur, collegiate and professional ensembles and playing in tune is a must. When practicing Tonal Energy puts all the tools I need into one app. Its wide array of different settings, available tools, and user-friendly interface allow for easy use and greatly improved playing without the cost or hassle of using a standard metronome or tuner.

Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating. But seriously, this thing has everything. A tuner. A metronome. Anything that is even remotely close to helping you in your musical career, this has it. by <-Asmodeus-> on 2019/01/01 01:12
The tuner is ok, but I prefer not to use software tuners since they pick up too much in the environment.

Thank you

by Toottoc on 2018/10/07 01:48

Awesome tuner...I have since retested the App vs. the various Korg model tuners I have and they are all spot on!

by angsty flute on 2019/03/25 03:44
this app is amazing!!! i am a musician, and struggled with many other metronome/tuning apps. none of them worked quite right for me, until a friend recommended tonal energy to me. it’s tuner is amazing and has helped me develop a great, steady tone. i love that there are different settings for how finely you want to be tuned. it’s been very good for me as i progress in my playing. i participate in marching band and a few different concert bands and nearly everyone there has this app. you can ask most anyone who has this app and they will tell you it is 100% worth the money. it’s amazing and worth the time. my musicianship has improved so much since i’ve had tonal energy.
Thanks to Philip Geiger and the team for putting this together!

by Anigo_O on 2018/06/16 00:31
First, let me just say that as a Violinist, this app is extremely helpful to me.
Thank you.
Worth the buy, but please fix the metronome
by jdskla on 2018/10/11 04:54
Thank you
Great practice aid right out of the box
by HighSpeedSpoon on 2017/09/03 16:31
I've been using TE about a week and wish I'd found it sooner.
The best music app in the App Store
by joe419 on 2019/04/08 18:53
I’m a music teacher and I couldn’t live without this app.
Best ever
by djlkfgh on 2018/10/01 19:45
I’ve tried a lot of tuners over the years and this one is by far the best.
Thank you!
by klgrego1 on 2018/09/05 16:00
The app is awesome and I use it for my band class everyday and I play French horn so it can be a hard instrument but with my awesome band teacher and this app with the tuner and much more, it makes me better everyday and I hope to see an even better version some day!! Thanks
Helpful in band and at home!
by Parents Please Read This! on 2017/09/16 02:28
TE tuner is a very helpful tuner that provides many features such as a tuner, metronome and many more.
The metronome is pretty awesome
by <-Asmodeus-> on 2019/01/01 01:12
The tuner is ok, but I prefer not to use software tuners since they pick up too much in the environment.
