Disappointed
by Flydo727 on 2020/10/24 12:53
As a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient, my cancer center offered me a free yearlong subscription to Headspace, but when I downloaded it I was charged and customer service was unable to help me with getting my payment back. They did offer me a free six months which was generous but really I wanted my money refunded for an app that I just wanted to try and never ended up using.
Please simplify the app to how it used to be
by pfoxsounds on 2020/10/24 05:45
I’m a long time paid subscriber and don’t plan on going anywhere else. However, at some point over the last year or so, this app has become absurdly difficult to navigate and find what I want. What used to be a simple and elegant interface and experience is no longer so. I don’t know if this is an attempt to encourage users to see more of what the app offers or what, but the result for me, a long time user (and not some technophobic grandfather) is frustration and wasted time. I still use the app daily, but please, consider simplifying it back to more the way it used to be, when there were more clearly organised sections for finding the meditation I want. You have some kind of impossible to meld with structure now. It’s terribly laid out with all kinds of weird and distracting subcategories and stuff I don’t care about. I just want to find various packs of guided meditations as I go from one to the next. The newer extras are nice and some great ideas, but the clutter is not. Thanks.
An Absolute Necessity
by beetsbymae on 2020/10/22 22:50
My family had been using Headspace for several years. At this point we will never stop because it provides such valuable resources, especially for our 9 year old daughter. She watches the wake-up every day, and uses Sleepcasts every night to fall asleep. the mindfulness skills she is developing through using Headspace show up in so many really cool ways. I would recommend Headspace to absolutely everyone!
I wish I had more to do
by Pedro Nichols on 2020/10/22 03:41
There’s not much to do until you start your free trail, add more stuff we can do with sleep.

by Etherealwi on 2020/10/21 21:20
Add binaural beats to meditations (any frequency between 8hz and 432hz changes depending upon the meditation) ok?
Got stressed out trying to use.
by TryingToRelax!! on 2020/10/21 20:55
and I’m not being funny. I just wanted to relax. But, by the time they capture all of your information and relentlessly try to get you to pay for stuff, I was stressed out and had to delete it. Don’t they make a simple app that just helps you relax? Were these people paid to write their reviews? Honestly… Yuck.
Just want money
by rand0mpe0r0nxdjxtndufebcwi on 2020/10/21 12:31
Stupid thing doesn’t even work! I won a free pro subscription and got a code that I couldn’t redeem anywhere! I signed up with my email and they sent me “You forgot something! Upgrade to pro! A healthier happier you is waiting!” And the “free” meditations are 1-3 minutes or 45 minutes!
The best meditation
by JessLynnD on 2020/10/21 03:43
I’m pretty picky about guided meditation. Thankfully I found Headspace! It’s not annoying or cheesy, it’s actually relaxing and relieving. I definitely recommend!
Evolving
by sutraschu on 2020/10/20 15:28
I’ve been a huge user of Headspace over the past five years and I am consistently impressed and grateful with their unique offerings that all speak to one purpose, awareness. Thank you for staying centered in this purpose while bringing forth fun and inventive content that is a betterment to all humanity.
Please bring back the focus section!!!
by Amelia_Rowe on 2020/10/20 14:41
I love how they used to organize the app...especially the focus section which is really helpful (with nature sounds) when you want to study/focus, but the new version canceled that separate section, instead, puts it under the library:(((( I hardly even use the “move” part since I have other workout apps, but it could be good if the users can choose the sections that have short cuts.
Unable to open app
by Dhdiejcfbdjdhf on 2020/10/20 08:39
After opening the app for the first time, I find myself being unable to open the app unless reset my phone.
Kid Version
by ZoeNightshade4life on 2020/10/20 00:03
Love this app!!!!! However I have a family, and I would like not to share the same account with them and my kids enjoy meditating, though the meditations aren’t really for them. I would love for this company to create a kids app where I can manage their accounts and track their mindfulness!!!!!
A gift

This app is a gift!
Hanging on
by Bon Kid on 2020/10/19 20:04
I am a military vet with severe PTS and struggle with anxiety, anger and depression daily. I am grateful for the free use of Headspace. It has proven to be very effective in helping me to refocus and calm down when feeling overwhelmed.
Consistently Over Billed for Subscription
by CarleeCole on 2020/10/19 18:25
I loved the headspace app until I started noticing that they were billing me every week for my monthly subscription. This week, they billed me the same amount 4 days apart. I am very displeased that an app that should be costing $12.99 a month has been costing me close to $60 a month. Will never use it again because of this.
A must have app
by Kennyatta R. on 2020/10/19 15:21
Headspace as an app is in my daily routine and has been instrumental in helping me to develop a better understanding of my mind and how to stay present. I suggest this app to everyone.
Upgrade to a family plan - disappointing
by mrmanlapas1 on 2020/10/19 12:20
If you are just going to use the app for you then great. If you’d like to upgrade to a family plan and try their help services good luck. Emailed back and forth 3 times and it’s a total miss. Very disappointing experience.
This is a warning to new people!!
by txtgghhhhhsfgehheidisud on 2020/10/19 06:54
The app is great and relaxing but before you install it you have to know that you have to pay for this, you can only get some lessons for free but everything else you have to pay for!
expensive
by Bro bri05 on 2020/10/19 05:05
you can’t even do anything unless you buy it. all i wanna do is sleep, but y’all don’t wanna help. you jus want money.
Just so it
by missmyMyst on 2020/10/18 16:52
Been doing headspace for about two years. Started it during the early days of a divorce. It helped me keep a clear and calm head. With discipline it becomes an amazing skill and something you do for yourself that improves the quality of your life in every area. It’s simple to use and never ever harsh or judgemental or anything. All about calm and betterment - often when you need it most. Takes discipline at first to do regularly, but after 30 days it becomes automatic and you look FORWARD to it! Good luck and just jump in. Do something for YOU.
Worth every penny
by Nuc RO on 2020/10/18 11:33
This is one app that I have purchased and have actually use everyday. The music, meditation and even the move offers a wide variety of ways to open the mind, and calm the soul with out making you feel like it was wasted time 5 minutes later. I take the teachings with me through out the day to keep me aware but nonjudgmental. I truly appreciate this form of instruction guidance.
Needs better accessibility to low-income people
by Hekadosjsnakalakdjf on 2020/10/17 04:28
This is a great app, but for how much they talk about being there for people they don’t mean people unable to afford the subscription for full content. Other apps get around this with ads etc, which I will gladly view to give them the revenue they need to continue the app’s maintenance. But it’s a very cold shoulder: either you have enough disposable income for something like this, or you don’t so don’t expect our help. Just surprising to see from such a popular app and gives off a cruddy “you’re not worth it to us” message.
Invest in your head
by Tamster1211 on 2020/10/16 21:18
Headspace is the best time you’ll ever spend on your phone. More patient and clearer mind if you invest the time.
Life changing
by Js2012jr on 2020/10/16 15:15
This app/discipline can be life-changing if you allow it to be. I do now find it difficult to meditate without it (having to think about when to transition my thoughts). However, when I have it, I find it calming and instrumental in getting me to focus on the beauty of the moment.
Sleep Aid
by Evieusa on 2020/10/16 03:54
The “Sleepcasts” are magical. Every night without fail I press play and usually less than 3 minutes in I am fast asleep.
Stressful times!
by OttoPrince on 2020/10/15 18:01
A friend turned me on to Headspace! What a find. Great mindful minutes! Taking two of the courses. Has helped me so much, I can’t say enough. Have told friends and family about it. Thank you!
Locked out and frustrated
by 2artisanne on 2020/10/15 17:35
It all started when I tried to change my email on the account I have had for several years. This turned into a hassle, but over a few days app support responded and enabled me to do this. However, following the email reset, I was required to log in and the password I have been using didn’t work. When I clicked “forgot password” the app was unable to send a reset password link to my new email. Eventually, I was locked out and again the app was unable to reach my mew email address to send me instructions on how to get back in. So now, I wait.
Makes meditation easy
by ryanweirdy on 2020/10/15 16:37
Guided meditation makes it so much easier! Someone to keep you on the rails so you don’t fall off and get frustrated. Try it!
Enjoying
by MommaSomeDay on 2020/10/15 16:20
Really enjoying this app. I wish it wasn’t so expensive to use but I’m enjoying the free content. Thank you.
I’ve been able to stay with it!
by Mary SL on 2020/10/15 13:15
This is a wonderful, wonderful meditation help. I have tried and failed at meditation for years. This has helped so much! I have been consistent for months listening to and often repeating the different tracks and I feel better and more focused during the day. The animations are entertaining and also really do provide useful tips that come to mind at times during the day. I learned about this in a mental health seminar and I’m so grateful it is and will continue to be part of my life. Benefits accumulate in a subtle way over time. Almost unnoticed and then I see that I am doing better highly highly recommend ,Mary

I’m at 40+ days and already can see and feel a better me! This is the best app for people of all ages in all different stages of their practice 💚
Headspace gets my highest recommendation
by hr.rankin on 2020/10/15 05:29
This app is an absolutely incredible meditation tool that helps me feel better about life and gives me a handle on my emotions and stress level. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to meditate for their mental health.
Great content, clunky organization
by Sprockethead1 on 2020/10/15 05:00
The meditations, courses, and sleep content is great. The app organization is really clunky. There’s no full dark mode, so it can jolt your eyes at night. Courses and singles need to be separated as you need to endlessly scroll otherwise. Kids content is great, but could be separated too with its own menu item. And, you have to press lots buttons to navigate. Lastly, a playlist option would be great to listen to a meditation and then a sleep cast for example.
Great app
by Gruesomedocter on 2020/10/15 04:51

by RainbowPittsburgh on 2020/10/15 03:29
I love Headspace from the Morning Wake up Meditation, to the Meditation Courses to the beautiful nature scape videos. Truly this app helps my stress and anxiety levels go down. I use this app every day. Highly recommend Headspace.
STOP CHANGING THE UI/UX EVERY 2 WEEKS
by maddykhaigh on 2020/10/15 03:21
that's all everything else is great
The most used app on my phone.
by Littleguy657 on 2020/10/15 00:29
I highly recommend this app for anyone seeking balance. There is always so much going on in our heads, in the world, and just in general. This is a great tool to compartmentalize everything and keep you connected to your reality. It helps me start my day, think of new insights, take a break from a stressful moment, use focus music to keep centered in order to not get distracted, and be able to enjoy a peaceful human experience. Life isn’t easy but the guided meditation combined with the many other things this app offers helps you keep perspective through the good and bad of life. I love Headspace and can’t imagine my life without it.

New to meditation? yes.
by Mr Nik Hill on 2020/10/14 12:58
This app helped me start my journey on meditation. It made the initial resistance I had met away with it’s easy tradition and guided supervision. I feel like I am in the room with Andy when listening to the app. I am very grateful for this app and eagerly look forward to using it each morning. Absolutely superb! look forward to using it each morning. Absolutely superb!

Helping me stay strong and be kinder to myself. Couldn’t be more grateful.
Very good
by speedyksu on 2020/10/14 11:12
I highly recommend this to people that need time to just let go and focus on calming down
Great but too pricey
by kirbisepic on 2020/10/14 06:01
The app is a great way to help untouchables calm down and/or fall asleep, but it’s very limited. Most of the sleep casts are locked behind a pay wall while their are only two free ones. This is ridiculous.Atleast give a bit more sleep casts to use
Amazing app
by Oshyshkov on 2020/10/14 04:42
I use Headspace for a couple of months. I love it. It is simple to use and you can find variety of classes there.
New update is....not great.
by asyo22 on 2020/10/14 03:21
Let me start by saying how much I have loved working with this app. My current streak is over 200 days... My only complaint is that the newest update just made the app impossible to navigate. I literally can’t find half of the things I’ve been using so frequently. Packs and single meditations have disappeared. Yikes, Headspace.
Life changing

Headspace likes to steal your money
by rubenetr on 2020/10/13 10:17
I was trying to give this app an opportunity and found it useful only for the first week ; however somehow and I am not entirely clear how, the subscription renewed for a year and there’s no way to cancel it. Once they take your money ; canceling the subscription requires you to go to a website ; you cannot do so within the app because the only thing they want is to make it more difficult for the user and discourage you from not turning off the auto Renew . There is a link to the website where you need to go cancel your subscription ; however the link is broken most likely on purpose. Very disappointed and dishonest I would not recommend this up to anyone.
Feels like a cash grab now.
by loganeeeeee on 2020/10/13 07:32
There used to be several sleepcasts for free, but now there is only one. Might leave a better review if there is more incentive to upgrade in the future. It would be cool if they let us try some of them for free instead of a single one.
AMAZING SLEEPING APP!
by wowiwkwekekd on 2020/10/13 04:31
This app is amazing. I used to not sleep cause I was anxious, but now since this app is out I can sleep better. This is really an honor! 🤗
A wonderful App
by marla000 on 2020/10/13 00:03
This app has made my life better in hard times and good times alike. A tool and resource I am grateful for, especially in 2020.
Finding peace and quiet
by Kings nightworkers on 2020/10/12 23:48
Headspace has been quite a change for me, I am grateful that there is somewhere I can go to meditate and find those quiet moments. I try to use reflection to start the day off feeling positive. For this I am happy. The process is slow and sometimes I’m really not sure if I got the message, but the one thing for sure is usually I feel better after I meditate. So thanks to Head space. I wish I had found you sooner.
Used to be better
by Patricia Lag on 2020/10/12 18:22
I’ve recommended Headspace to countless people over the years but am disappointed with all the recent updates. Missing the days when Headspace was a clean and simple space that didn’t try to be anything other than what it was (a meditative respite). I look forward to the mindful moment notification every day, but now I keep on getting push notifications for working out within the app or to watch a new video with some influencer I couldn’t care less about. The only notification I have turned on is for mindful moments and I still keep on getting these other notifications even though there’s nothing mindful about them. Please Headspace, stop trying to be like every other app with your incessant notifications and suggestive design, and go back to being the app we all loved you for in the first place.
Inherent conflict of interest
by heckem on 2020/10/11 19:01
I like to meditate. I also benefit from the extrinsic motivation of having a daily notification reminding me to meditate, and seeing my streak climb. But here's the issue. I go somewhere with no signal, and now I can't meditate, according to the app, because I didn't think ahead and pre download ... an audio file containing silence. Kind of nonsense, if you think about it. There goes my 29 days streak. Next up is the fact that it's pushing some John Legend collaboration? And a hinge collaboration? I have a hard time with this commercialization. Actually, it seems pretty much the opposite of what a mindful interaction with this app should be, to have a modal pop up with an ad telling me to go do some other thing. Not cool.
Student discount
by jellymeonion on 2020/10/11 14:51
If you’re a student, there is a discount available to you. I love this app. I appreciate the daily little reminders and have found these guided meditations to be helpful. There’s a variety of lengths to choose from. And courses are available for download. As I am often camping and working outdoors, I find being able to use this app offline very comforting.
Too much going on
by Pickahcu on 2020/10/11 14:13
This app is confusing and seeing Andy all over the app is strange.
Changing my perception
by GentleRace on 2020/10/10 16:14

If you start your day with a meditation session, it will set the tone for the rest of your day.
by cabandor on 2020/10/10 12:56
I contrasted my prior anxiety-filled day with the day I did a meditation session in the morning. I feel like it made a huge difference in the quality of my day. Remember that meditation is not something that you do just for a time block out of your day, it’s something that you carry with you into your day with a positive quality of mind. Of course, when you choose to meditate is totally up to you. Find what works for you: your individual recipe.
Eh...
by KittyGachaCutieCat on 2020/10/10 01:31
I normally get no sleep, the first few times I had the app I slept wonderfully but then I was getting bored and sleepless again because all of them are mostly for money,I suggest making this app more free.
Absolutely amazing
by Kdoob888 on 2020/10/09 21:55
I saw an ad for Headspace saying they’d offer it for free to anyone who had lost their job during the pandemic. I signed up right away thinking “why not? 3 kids home from school, 2 parents who had lost their job it might be worth a try!” I started daily meditations back in April and didn’t really notice if it was helping a ton...but then things got very tough at home and my father passed away unexpectedly...having these tools in my arsenal has helped me SO much. Prior to this I don’t know how I would have dealt with all of that at the same time...not as well as I’m handling it now. The sessions on grieving and anxiety have been life changing for me. I truly can’t recommend Headspace enough. So grateful this exists!
Never works offline
by gofishgofly on 2020/10/09 18:54
They tie your money, then upon asking for refund since it never works, they’d AY go to apple because they’re in platform you used, even we have your money in our pocket. Disgusting. Also the app has the same old stuff and keep cutting items daily.
Missing the old interface
by muffinkittenpants on 2020/10/09 17:43
I love Headspace and have used it for years. However, I’m not loving the redesign. I really appreciated the simplicity of the previous interface and the softer colors. I use the app to manage stress and the new interface feels a little more overwhelming and difficult to navigate, which kinda stresses me out lol.
It’s really bad
by little chicklets on 2020/10/08 18:54
I can’t cancel my payment even though I when I deleted it it said cancel payment and I did that but I got an email saying I have to pay $13 monthly but I deleted it. Also almost everything is locked unless you pay. I hate it don’t get it. And LET ME CANCEL MY PAYMENT.
Mostly great
by cpevans on 2020/10/08 16:24
But why on earth do Sleepcasts, Sleepscapes, Sleep Radio, etc. count towards Stats? The only thing that should count towards “Total Time Meditated” is time meditated! Not the hour of soundscape after I fall asleep.
Scam
by Kenneth Q_ on 2020/10/08 13:51
It was nearly impossible to cancel my free trial. The app told me to go to the website and the website told me I wasn’t doing a free trial and wildest let me cancel it, customer service was useless. I had to go into subscription settings in the settings app to take away their ability to charge my card.

Great! But...
by Cocoa_Bear_Puff_LoveyDovePup on 2020/10/08 02:19
I have sleeping problems every night, when music or an audiobook don’t help me to sleep, “Rainday Antuques” does. But it is the ONLY free sleep cast. It always works, no joke, but I can’t keep listening to the same thing over and over. Getting a night of sleep shouldn’t cost me money. I am a young teen and have no way to pay this. I just want to be able to sleep.
Takes too long to load meditations
by randomuser62638478282 on 2020/10/07 23:36
I love this app, but it has to buffer for minutes before I can start meditating. Please fix this
Great app!
by Bishmama on 2020/10/07 17:26
2 enhancements would make this the best app! 1. If you can setup back to back sleepcasts. Sometimes one just isn’t enough and you have to unlock your phone when you’re half asleep; or setup repeat as an option 2. It would be nice to start with a sleep cast followed by all night of sleepy music. It’s either one or the other.
Mental health is important
by malmoneylion on 2020/10/07 16:16
This app has helped me a lot. It’s not an immediate transition, but you begin to take steps back during the day and realize that your overthinking. The noting technique was what I’ve held onto the most, and taking deep breathes. I mostly use the app to help me sleep. I like to have something to listen to and guide me to relaxation. I definitely recommend this for EVERYONE. My sister was very hesitant, but she has also begun to love it. Mental health is so very important, and in today’s society it is easy to forget about that. After using this app for a week, I bought it without hesitation. I’m so happy that I did.
Relaxation Vacation
by TylerABurns on 2020/10/07 14:23
I love this app. It has tons of choices to choose from. I started with the letting go of stress course and it’s like broken up into 3 sessions with multiple session within each of these 3 sessions. I feel more relaxed than I have been in months. I tried the calm app and wasn’t satisfied but I feel like this app is the real winner! Can’t wait to do some more meditation
I just want help sleeping
by jonicarlsen on 2020/10/06 06:18
I downloaded this app last year and it was great, didn’t need it so much anymore so I deleted it. Well I just downloaded it again tonight because today has been crazy stressful and I have had horrible insomnia for the last 2 weeks. Literally all their soundtracks for sleep require you to do the “free trial” then pay $69.99 a year. There is one track that is 3-10 minutes long, and 1 for 45 min that are free, the rest are locked. I get the creators want to make money but $5.99 a month? The creators seem more selfish than wanting to provide others with help they might really need. I’ll stick with YouTube. At least they haven’t started charging for watching videos that work just as well with depression, anxiety, and insomnia. 😒
Great but not great if you don't pay
by Ditanta on 2020/10/06 04:18
The app is great! I love it and it's calming skills! I just wish that more were free. I thought it would be a 50/50 like most apps are but instead is 10/90. Only four story readings are free out of thirty five :/. Great but I wish there were more for the poor folk 👁👄👁

I was looking forward to my 7 day free trial, but was sadly disappointed. I then tried to cancel my subscription, and I tried 3 different methods which they mentioned online. None of them worked. I was then charged for a month.
Love, but now too many things
by Tunacedes on 2020/10/05 17:15
I’ve been using Headspace for more than three years (maybe four?). I love it but have been getting increasingly frustrated. Why do I have a tab for movement? I can’t even find the unguided sessions anymore. This is not an exercise app — make a new app for that, please, or else let me customize this one.
Great app. Needs planning/save feature.
by a.badabada on 2020/10/05 16:10
I love this app. The meditations are great. The sleep casts are wonderful. It really has added pieces of knowledge that have benefited my life. Suggestion: I would like a way to bookmark meditations or workouts. Would be above and beyond if I could sync it with my google calendar to set a specific meditation or workout for a day and time.

another app i can’t use
by erp989 on 2020/10/05 04:58
i’m someone who has ptsd and when i’m panicking i can’t listen to men’s voices in any capacity because it sends me into panic. even when i’m fine and just want to have a guided meditation, i can’t deal with men’s voices because it sends me into a spiral. i’ll have to look into a different app (again). for some of the meditations in this app, there’s only an option for a mans voice, and i can’t handle that.
not many options for free
by wizzle22_ on 2020/10/05 02:50
There is only one option to choose from if you do not want to pay.
Good but...
by insomniacwouldlikesleepcast on 2020/10/05 02:04
I like it but I wish there were options to download the sleepcasts. I have a lot of internet problems and the sleep casts have helped me with my insomnia, but I can’t download them to listen to them if our WiFi is down. Also the speaking portion of the sleep cast is only about 25 minutes which is far too short for someone with insomnia. It would also be nice if they were organized by speaker because I prefer the old British man voice but have to listen to the first part of each one to find which ones he reads.

This app is a miracle
by lissykiss on 2020/10/04 15:33
I suffer from ptsd, insomnia, anxiety, and I get really bad night mares. I downloaded this app because I was desperate for a solution to getting a good night’s rest without sleeping pills and I got so much more than that. It only took a couple of days before seeing results. I haven’t had a nightmare in months since I downloaded. I sleep like a baby and it only takes a few minutes for me to fall asleep. My stress has gone down tremendously. The male voice that speaks is so calming. It just feels so hypnotizing. I’ve gone into deeper meditation than I ever thought I could and I see things. I get images of places and things I’ve never saw before and I sometimes see numbers flying around and there’s always ones that stick out. I do wonder if that has any meaning but it’s fun to explore and see things that give me a Christmas morning kind of feeling. I’m just so glad I had an open mind to download and I wasn’t disappointed. Thanks
Can’t purchase :/
by minisll on 2020/10/04 09:12

Expensive- people who need it and can’t afford it.
by tiredsoul.-. on 2020/10/04 06:15
I remember when this app was starting out and I used it everyday. Although they had paid parts, they still had free access to a lot, and I couldn’t afford therapy or mediations or whatever, so I would use this and it helped. Now, whenever I need to sleep or to calm my head, I can’t turn to the app I once did because I can’t afford it. Guess money goes over health. App? Great. Loss of care for human mental health? Completed.
Life changing
by vmonjian on 2020/10/04 01:59
This app and Andy’s gentle and soothing guidance in it have absolutely changed my life for the better and in a big way. I’ve been meditating using the Headspace app as regularly as I can with a run streak of 180 days once. The streaks do not really matter, but staying consistent does. I consider the guidance and wisdom that Andy imparts in the app therapeutic. Friends, family and colleagues regularly tell me how much more serene, kind and patient I have become even in very tough situations. Those attributes would have never been applied to me had it not been for this app. The packages are godsend, like on patience, kindness, generosity...etc. Each package has ten guided sessions. Once I’m done with one package I either start again (some I’ve done more than 20 times) or start another one of my favorite packages. No, I’m not paid to sponsor these guys. I have not only gotten it (I.e. paid) for myself, but for my wife too. I’ve also offered to pay for friends’ or relatives’ apps too. Don’t think twice about it. Read up on the amazing benefits of meditation (physical, emotional, even spiritual) and then just cough up whatever Headspace charges. It had been the best investment of money and time I have made in my life. No exaggeration.

For the developers
by Addictor480 on 2020/10/02 22:49
So i looove this app and (almost) everything about it it is able to put me to sleep when normally i have trouble, BUT, unless you pay real money (i have very little) you only get like two/three things! Granted, the things that do come with it are really good. (especially rain day antiques) so, a summery, i personally think at LEAST 3 times as many things should be free!
This app has changed my life.
by Sewfancy86 on 2020/10/02 16:49
I know it sounds cheesy, but I was so lost before I started meditating with Headspace. My therapist recommended meditation as a next step in my self development and I didn’t know where to start. Enter Headspace. It has completely transformed my relationship with my mind and has given me the chance to practice mindfulness in almost every part of my day. I’ve noticed a vast improvement in my overall mental health and outlook on life- it’s been 3 years and I’m still loving it. I’m a teacher and we also use this in my classroom to practice daily mindfulness and the kids love it. Overall amazing app. They’ve made some wonderful additions in the last couple years (kids specific mindfulness, sleep and relaxation mindfulness, movement activities, and mindset). It’s just the best. If you’re ready to embark on a journey of self-acceptance, inner peace, and mental calm, Headspace is for you.
Way too many notifications
by ]#<>^#<€ on 2020/10/02 15:09
If you do not have a paid subscription, the app sends you more than 2-3 notifications a day (not counting the meditation reminder you can enable or disable) that I could not figure out how to stop. For an app that is supposed to help people be less anxious, mindful, and calm, this achieves quite the opposite. I get enough notifications from other things already, so the last thing I need is a meditation app causing me more anxiety. I will stick to using Calm instead.

Perfect for Healthcare Workers amidst the pandemic
by Mel - RRT on 2020/08/17 02:01
I’ve been in respiratory therapy for 8 years. 3 of the last years I’ve been at a trauma hospital in Los Angeles. Because of everything that has happened in 2020, and the tension in hospitals being at an all time high, I’ve had mild to moderate anxiety. I’ve always been a stress ball growing up, but it has never manifested in my physical body until this year. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF STRESS. As a healthcare worker, I am strong but I am not invincible, so I had to switch my lifestyle up. I’m now taking herbal supplements, taking Epsom salt bath every other day, exercising (most) days, and making sure to get some sun. Meditating has really helped me so much. I’ve been doing it pretty much every day for the past few weeks and it has helped me accept my emotions and worries without being too hard on myself since I can sometimes be an overachiever. I bought the annual subscription because I wanted to invest in something that would help me practice feeling peace in the chaos going on at work, in the world, and just my life in general. This app has allowed me to feel calm and practice being mindful of the moment. Download this app and make it a part of your daily regimen to meditate! Especially if you’re an essential worker.
Love the app - meditations are very repetitive though
by apg1616 on 2019/01/17 14:01
I love the Headspace app and I’m a big fan of Andy’s soothing voice. I’ve now meditated ~35 days in a row, something I was never able to accomplish through other meditation apps. The design is beautiful and I love the animations. My only feedback is that the courses are very repetitive in terms of the actual structure and guided meditations. While that’s great and I understand it’s helpful to have a similar structure, a 10 min meditation in a course on Happiness and 10 min meditation in a course on Managing Anxiety are about 85% the same except for about 2 min of the session where he talks about the topic. Take deep breaths, close your eyes, feel your room around you, focus on the breath, Andy talks for a min about the topic, bring awareness back to breath, body scan, let go of awareness, bring it back, done. That’s helpful for a very generic meditation, but for these very specific topics, I feel like there should be more techniques used and a bit more difference in what’s asked of the user. I do feel better and relaxed afterwards, but don’t really feel like I’m more prepared to deal with the anxiety. I know I’m more aware of it, which is part of the point, but is that the only point? Again, love the app, just hoping there can be some more added to differentiate and add more value for that topic.
Too pricey for a college kid!
by Nick my name!! on 2018/11/25 16:45
I love this app. I tried the free trial and loved it. The guided meditations really make the work easy and I found myself in a inducing a meditative state without lots of effort. They literally have a guided meditation for any situation or mood so it feels like their library is limitless. Unfortunately my free trial ran out and I bought a few months of headspace. In a way buying the app encouraged me to use it because I was spending my own money so that was good. However, when I moved into my first apartment I didn’t have enough money to keep my subscription going. I would love to buy headspace for life but I just don’t have $300 extra dollars sitting around to spend. I also feel that the subscription is pricey for something i don’t always want to use everyday. On days where I wanted to take a break from using my phone I lost my meditation streak which was disappointing. Sometimes I have a great day and don’t feel the need for headspace, but the subscription still takes the money from my pocket. On days when I really have a particular funky mood headspace is great because I feel like it can guide me through any kind of funk. I just wish it wasn’t so pricey. Buy this app if you like the meditations and have the money, but if you don’t have the dough, free meditation may be the way to go.
Now a Rewarding and Essential part of my Routine.
by SublimePastTime on 2018/04/23 15:13
I’ve been using the app religiously for about two weeks. After a recent ADD diagnosis, I thought it would be a good idea to start working meditation into my routine, and was willing to invest some resources into the guided regiment on Headspace. The problem had been nearly consuming my life and I was pretty frustrated. I was skeptical of “guided meditation” in particular, because I thought that someone talking you through the meditations through your headphones might defeat the purpose. I also have trouble sitting still in particular. I have not been disappointed. The app explicitly states that it is not intended to treat or cure attention deficit disorders, and I did not expect it to, but it significantly reduced the the severity of the problem almost overnight. I am also a collegiate music student, and I saw a tremendous difference in my practice routine and quality of playing as well. The content is very well organized and the methodology/philosophy is explained very thoroughly in fun-to-watch animations. I feel the difference at work and among friends. I just now put the app on the main dock in my phone, right beside the phone, messaging, and music apps. It is now a rewarding and essential part of my routine.
You will notice a difference, just be patient with yourself :)
by Tolo of the Sky Clan on 2020/01/30 01:23
I am a medical student and this app has been a really incredible tool for me in my journey on how to calm my thoughts, to be aware of my own narratives about myself and how my mind heated with the world. I used to get mad at myself (and still do sometimes!!) if I found my mind wandering during a meditation, but now I know just realizing that my mind is wandering is such a huge first step on the way to a less spastic and fragmented thought-to-thought jumping nature of mind. Just noticing is a key to being content and feeling peace. But it takes dedication! Amidst my sometimes wild schedule I always try to meditate once per day, and the “daily meditation”, 3 minute version is great. The amount of hours put in is important, but the regularity If a daily practice I think is extremely valuable, so stick with it, you can do it! If you make this a priority and fit it into your day no matter what you will notice a difference after a few weeks, a couple months. But I’ve had to learn to also be patient with myself, sometimes it’s 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. A great gift idea for a friend or loved one. I hope you enjoy, join the movement to build a more beautiful life!
Wonderful app, but not as wonderful with accessibility
by Christianissimo on 2017/11/04 10:32
Headspace is wonderful. There are many options as far as meditations, and such go, and they are always expanding their library, which is amazing to begin with. However, I gave Headspace 3 stars as I am a blind user of Headspace, and the app is really not the most accessible app on earth. I have written to Headspace, and they did make some changes, and it is better than before, but it's still not where it should or could be as far as accessibility goes. I have to touch options sometimes and turn Voice Over off and try touching the same exact spot on my screen and turning Voice Over on again to check if I had done what I had hoped. For an app that's built to help relieve stress and concerns, this aspect of the app definitely tests my ability to just let it slide. But due to the lack of accessibility, and the fact that I am paying for the lack of full accessibility with this app, I give it 3 stars as I think it's a big enough problem to warrant such a ding. However, everything else in and around this app would receive 5 stars. When they fix the access issues, I'll be happy and able to change this review or to add a new one with all 5 stars in place.

Honestly life changing...
by Ghost Totz on 2019/05/21 05:10
As a student, husband, employee, supervisor, manager, etc. life can get ahead of me every single day and honestly will overwhelm me. I have been in a long battle with moderate/severe depression and anxiety disorder, and after medications were only numbing symptoms I thought I was a hopeless case. Something changed and I decided that I wanted to start really doing things in life. I’ve had this app for a while but I finally decided to try to use it more. I started for just sleep, but just sleep turned into using it to wake up, and when I feel stressed about work or when I’m studying, I just take a quick break. It’s honestly surreal how fast 10-20 minutes goes by when going through the guided meditation in the morning. All that said, this app is amazing, and I really recommend it to anyone dealing with any problems in their life, whether permanent or temporary. Let this help you, and go tackle your problems. Also, for my fellow students, you can go to their website and verify your student status and get the full access to the meditations for $10 a year, to make this app and company even more amazing. Keep up the awesome content Headspace! And thank you for helping me on my journey

As a TM practitioner I wasn't initially drawn to this app. However it was recommended repeatedly by health practitioners as I struggled to be consistent with my sitting practice. Finally I gave in and it's been a wonderful asset to my meditation practice. I use it as an anchor and I enjoy the presentations as well as the guided series and singles. The SOS and now the many other options are great. Being able to grab your phone and calm yourself in stressful times is amazing. Headspace has continued to improve adding more and more options and modules. You can stick with classic guided or semi guided meditation, or silence, add music or learn how to use mindfulness on a broad range of issues from speaking, sadness, grief ... you name it. I love the special section on sleep. The educational aspect is beyond compare and you can watch short videos. I still have a strong preference for Andy Puddicome’s voice and hope he never tires of doing this, but glad the options are there for others. This simply is the best app for meditation and for mindfulness. THE BEST. I highly recommend this to anyone--from those being introduced to meditation and/mindfulness to the experienced practitioner. You're in good hands here. Easy to use too. Very intuitive.
Helping me understand what meditation is.
by tgsnydermd on 2018/06/18 13:32
I started a self study in Buddhist meditation using the books “LovingKindness” by Sharon Salzberg and “A Path with Heart” by Jack Kornfield because I had lost touch with my inner peace that I had just 5 years ago. I found I could no longer turn to the Christian theology from my childhood, and I yet I need a sense of spirituality in my daily life. The two books have been helpful, and very slow going. They are easy to read, but hard to do. In fact, I’m still really in the most basic part which is loving and caring for self. That’s where Headspace came in, I needed to find a guided meditation because the books are more self guided. Having the voice of Andy Puddicombe walk me through what it means to meditate in the most basic terms helped me understand that I’m on the right path. Also, it has allowed me to progress in the practice of meditation even though on a personal level, I keep falling back into using mantras of self appreciation and acceptance now for more than a month. I find Headspace, along with the two aforementioned books, to be transformative in my inner game. I plan to visit a local Buddhist Temple soon to meet others with more experiences in this meditative practice.
Simply Excellent ! :-)

I knew nothing about meditation when I started my journey about three years ago. I read Andy's book and I saw the potential to bring more calm and stability to my life. So I started using the app. I had a slow start. I tried it for several days and then dropped it for a while etc. Finally I gave meditation the priority it deserves and here I am… I just passed 600 days of meditation in a row without missing a day. I'm proud of that, but I still feel like a beginner. As Andy teaches, meditation can be a lifelong journey. I simply can't say enough positive about Headspace. I love it and I encourage you to try it! I have a couple of friends who use other "flavors" of meditation and I see no conflict between what my friends are learning and what I am learning. That gives me confidence that the lessons that Andy teaches are sound. Honestly my only concern is that Headspace will grow too large as a company and that Andy may not have time to be so actively involved in creating the content of the app. Or perhaps Andy might feel like he has completed his work with Headspace and moves on to new projects. I dearly hope that never happens. Bottom line: Very highly recommended. Enjoy! Paul in Vermont, USA
My kids and I LOVE headspace!!! <3
by Klaudia Fisher on 2018/02/26 04:48
I’ve been wanting to meditate for a while, and I just didn’t know how to, I’ve tried yoga and a couple other things, but never really got the time to make it a habit. I found this app and decided to give it a go given the reviews. It didn’t let me down. I love all the packs for different situations in life and the fact that you can meditate 1 min or as long as you can, so no more “I don’t have time” After the trial i decided to use the premium version and it was then when I discovered the kids section (angels sing and sunshine thru clouds please) it’s never been so easy to put my kids to bed! My kids LOVE Andy and ask for him every single night, 90% of the time they are asleep by the time the sleep meditation is over (5-6 min). They have asked to start hearing Andy when they wake up, too. As for me, I had been struggling with insomnia for a while, and when I did sleep my mind would keep going on and on about everything I had to do the next day, so I’d wake up feeling restless. I’ve been using headspace at bedtime and I’m out in like 5 min. I sleep better, my mind sleeps too. I’ve been using it for a couple months and there’s still SO much to explore. I just love it :)
Such a cool app
by Cali1925 on 2019/01/23 19:16
It’s not that I was skeptical when it came to meditation, I just was unsure of what it was exactly, or what the goal should be. This app does an AMAZING job of explaining and easing you into meditation. It’s something you have to practice and implement into your routine. I haven’t had it for long, and I have only been doing the free “Basics” sessions, but wow I am so so impressed with the results. I don’t like to think I am a person who is just stressing herself all the time, but lately with a lot of life changes my body has been feeling a lot of tension and it has caused me horrible headaches. Whenever I meditate it relaxes me and relieves me of some of the pain. It also just gets me pumped for the day. Your emotional/mental health is so important!! Busy-ness kills, and meditating can help you take better care of yourself. This app is so well constructed. I normally don’t do subscriptions, but I’m gonna have to pay because it’s so worth it. The fact that you can choose if you wanna meditate for 3, 5, or 10 minutes? That’s awesome! So much detail. Also I personally like it way better than Calm, which is rated higher, not to mention the aesthetics are way more satisfying.
New to Headspace Old to meditation
by fawayadventures on 2020/04/16 12:08
I started meditating in high school during my senior year when I did a solo project on the Dalai Lama and Thich Naht Hanh. Meditation was rejuvenating and grounding. Fast forward the next 15 years and meditation was lost to the hustle and bustle of life. My work recently offered a trial of Headapace to a select few prior to launching for the entire team. I immediately signed up knowing although my current mind stated, “you don’t have time for that” but my deep mind stated “you need this!” And here I am remembering again the importance of living in the moment, taking in and appreciating the sounds, smells and feel of the world around me. Meditation got me through some very tough times as a teenager when I nearly lost my mother to a brain tumor and my father to mental illness. Now with the coronavirus pandemic, job insecurity and political unrest I again need to ground myself. Headspace allowed me to treasure again the here and now, to not only calm my flighty mind but feel my body the aches and tension releasing it. Just like physical health you must make the time to nourish your brain. 10 minutes a day is reasonable and will make a world of difference! Thank you Headapace for reminding me again to live in the moment and treasure the beauty of every day.
Everything I didn’t know I needed.
by sfairops on 2018/08/28 04:05
There’s so much to be said about how specific yet simple Headspace’s premise is. For the record, I meditate twice a day: right before I go to work, and the right after I come back home. I have been using the app for close to a month now, and I can already notice a lot of behavioral changes in myself. I respond better to situations that used to frustrate and/or upset me, and I feel much better equipped to deal with the various emotional ups and downs of daily life. To clarify something, this app is a tool for anyone to use. I used to be one of those people who thought meditation is pointless, that I wouldn’t be able to “shut down” my brain and prevent it from drifting off during a meditation session. None of that matters with Headspace. As long as you develop a habit of using the app, you will be better prepared and confident when dealing with the aforementioned feelings. Headspace has truly been a revolutionary discovery for me. As someone who has tried similar apps in the past, I can confidently say that no other app can match the sophisticated design, ease of use, and mindfulness that’s encapsulated by Headspace.
Thank You, But No Thank You
by Maddog3706 on 2018/04/14 17:37
I would like to start by thanking the creators of this app. I am a student and testing is coming up soon. This app has helped me in not only calming down and focusing on that, but also on my family situation right now. I (try to) use this app daily and it sets my day on a good course. Thank you. However, I am not sure for how long I will be able to say that. Once my Basics 1 course expires, I will have to pay insane amounts of money to “subscribe” to Headspace just so I am able to take different meditating courses, such as Focus, Kindness, or Sleep. It costs $400 to meditate for a lifetime (unlimited)! That’s enough to feed a family for 2 months! It feels like a demo you would find on the phones they have it the Apple Store: incomplete. Overall, the experience is great and the meditating is useful, but I feel that meditating should be available to everyone, not just people willing to shell out $13 a month or $95 a year. I would not recommend this app to friends because I don’t think they want to experience this disappointment. I love your app, just not your cost!
Mediation is surprisingly awesome!

Headspace has provided me with a way to cope with some of the anxieties of work and school life. I really enjoy that sense of “me-time” just spent focusing on my thoughts a feelings and dealing with them in what I feel is a healthy way. I somehow feel different after every session, more relaxed, more “centered” if you would. I don’t really have trouble going to sleep but some days my mind travels a mile per minute with thoughts of things I have yet to do. I find the sleepcasts they offer to be helpful during these times. The soothing sounds help me focus on shutting my body off for the night. I would recommend just listening to the casts they have available for unsubscribed users and seeing how you feel. The only gripe I have with the meditations they offer is that all of them seem very similar. They have many different packs that are supposed to cater to a specific area but this is only an illusion of variety. All meditations offer the same sort of exercises like focused breathing and mindfulness. I just wish that there were more exercises to make use of. Otherwise, I just can’t justify purchasing a yearly subscription for this service.
Recovery - what a difference

I have struggled with addiction, relapsing many times, having found it so difficult to be at ease without my coping mechanism (alcohol). In the past, I’d attempted meditation on my own, and found myself practicing at most once a day, for maybe 5 minutes, before wanting to jump out of my skin and do something else. With Headspace, the techniques are explained clearly and consistently, without it feeling like I’m just playing the same recorded guide over and over. It feels like Andy is personally training me in a slightly new or different way each session. As a result, I not only practice daily, but 3-4 times per day for at least 10 minutes each session. And I even look forward to it! What a difference this has made in my mood, my clarity, and most of all, my need for old bad habits. There’s even a 30 day program on coping with cravings. If you struggle with sobriety, or bad habits of any kind, you may find incorporating the practices taught in this app deep into your daily life will make the journey to wellness so much lighter and easier than it has been.
My mind has been blown!

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but Headspace is well worth the time it takes to write this! I love feeling like I have a coach, he may not respond to me or hear what I say, but he’s there getting me through this mental workout. Before Headspace came into my life, I was very sporadic with my emotions and wasn’t aware on how to fully control them.. to be honest I’m still not sure how to fully control them, but Headspace gives me the tools to stop intense/aggressive emotions before they emerge. I would also always be very overwhelmed with my thoughts and I’d get very anxious about what others thought or really anything dealing with the unknown. Now I’ve been more tamed, I’m more in control of my thoughts and emotions, I’m the driver of my vessel instead of the other way around. I’m incredibly thankful to have this app, if you’re a person who struggles with feeling in control of your being, I highly recommend giving this a try! I start my workday with a 10-minute meditation, and boy do I feel productive when I do that! Thanks Headspace for giving me the tools, much love!
If only...

At first I really loved this app and I didn't miss that some of the sessions we're locked and only for people who are subscribed but then I couldnt do the daily meditation feature because it started to lock all of them... I liked that with some packs you could do the first session to get a feel of what it it was about but then you would have to pay to get the rest of it. Because of this, for about six months, I was doing the basics pack (which is the only pack you get without paying) and so I didn't feel like meditating. I was losing all hope in this app until sleep by headspace came out. I have a lot of trouble sleeping and so this feature really helped me and I thought I could do as many sleepcasts i want but then..... As you could guess... It locked ALL OF THEM....now I can't meditate or sleep😔 if you have enough money to subscribe to this app, good for you because it's very nice and will help you a lot but if you can't subscribe, don't get your hopes up with this app. I just really wish it had more features for people who can't subscribe because in the end it leaves no options if you can't. If it had more options, I would be giving them at most four stars but because the don't, they're left with one. I really do wish I could keep this app but right now it's just taking up space😖
Loving it
by JessicaKate0919 on 2019/01/10 17:23
I’ve been using for four days and I can honestly say it has helped me tremendously. This isn’t my first attempt at meditation, but it has been my most successful and the attempt in which I’ve learned the most. It’s like the creators of this app got inside my head to figure out exactly what I needed to hear in order to understand and move forward, and then tailored the information just for me! I’m impressed, I’m incredibly grateful, and I’m so excited about my progress. In less than a week, I’m able to notice myself progressing mentally and emotionally, outside of the app in my daily life. I’ve yet to even subscribe, which I absolutely plan on doing once I don’t have a negative bank account (LOL), but the content available for free is quite phenomenal. Having just gone through “The Basics” a bit, I’m noticeably more calm and less irritable. I’m finding myself laughing more, and fighting less with my partner. I’m finding myself handling uncomfortable emotions and situations with patience towards myself and others. Thank you, Headspace. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Accountability
by employee-turned-customer on 2019/01/02 03:58
I've had some phases when I've meditated regularly, but having this app gives me a sense of external accountability that has kept me on the wagon longer than ever before. The daily push notifications with words of mindfulness are definitely helpful as a reminder to make time, but I'm really speaking more to the aspect of having a consistent structure and theme(s) to my mindful time. I've also never done guided meditation per se before, and it's wonderful to have such a broad, deep, and wise resource that I can tap into to keep me on track until I'm ready to move on to a new area of focus, of which HeadSpace has plenty to choose from. I use the app after work as a way to transition to my home life, and I often hit the ground running when I emerge from meditation with enthusiasm and focus for the rest of my day. I recommend the app for anyone at beginner or intermediate experience with mindfulness. Can't speak to more advanced meditators, as I still have a long way to go myself, but HeadSpace definitely makes me feel like I'm on the right track.
Headspace has helped me to establish a daily meditation practice
by islandgirlonafarm on 2019/02/11 14:33
I absolutely love Headspace 💆🏽‍♀️. I bought anannual membership on Groupon last year and gladly renewed when that had expired. It has helped me to establish a daily meditation practice. Meditation is something I’ve wanted to do but I didn’t know whom or what to listen to, or didn’t have a consistent discipline a routine around it. I love that Headspace has multiple meditations you can choose from, and you control how long the meditation is from 1 minute up to 30 minutes if you want ! There are even meditation courses about focus, stress, productivity - all the reasons we should even be meditating in the first place! I love the daily tracker that shows how many days in a row you’ve meditated and the total amount of minutes that I’ve meditated- it definitely keeps me motivated to want to continue to do it. I’ve definitely noticed a shift in my behavior over the past year and in my mindset since I have been meditating. I am more calm and less irritable and things don’t bother me as much.I highly recommend this app!
Help but I see a problem
by Bg1216 on 2019/01/03 01:48
This app helped me in my day to day and I managed to alleviate the great anxiety I had as well as the depression I was going to have. But the problem that I see is the fact that I have to pay to have another type of course. Many teenagers [including myself] can not afford the app and we even tell our parents that the application helps us but they refuse to pay for something that would have to be free if it is for personal help. I'm not saying that creators do not deserve money, but courses that help with anxiety and depression or students should not cost anything. But the sessions that are at work or walking I agree that they charge, but those that mostly older people and teenagers choose, should be free. And another problem that I see is the language, since I have some friends and most of them do not know much English but they have the application to relax but not achieve it because they do not know English. So it would help a lot if they managed to incorporate the language change for the comfort of the user.
An amazing app behind a pay wall
by Omegabuster125 on 2019/07/31 19:40
This app....is just amazing. It has everything that allows for a relaxing experience for those who have dealt with stress, of any kind, throughout their livelihoods. But at a cost, as effective as this app is, I would love to continue using it without having to worry about the subscription fee. Do not misunderstand me, I am not saying they do not deserve the funds to continue their efforts of reducing stress. Especially with how fluid and colorful the tutorial’s animations are and how silky smooth Andy’s voice is during the session. But I wholeheartedly believe that this app can reach its full potential if it was provided without a charging fee. A lot of teenagers, including myself, have a hard time dealing with their stress by themselves. They usually have to rely on depression medication and therapy sessions which even then, is not as effective due to the costs of these options. This app can possibly outmatch both options at once, if it was not facing the same issue. As it is, the app is fantastic in its performance of reducing stress and I highly recommend it to those who are interested.
Life saver!
by itssss.megan on 2018/07/22 15:24
It had been very difficult to overcome all my emotions when so much was happening in my life and I had a lot to worry about but a lot to be happy and angry about, things were getting confusing and I was getting angry very easily to the point where I couldn’t sleep so I thought maybe I should try meditating and I searched everywhere for a good app to help guide me through fixing the stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, being un-calm and more and this definitely is doing the job! I meditate for 5 minutes every morning when I wake up(you can do 3,5,&10 mins, you chose the how long and when). Since I’ve been using this I already feel 10x better and I can finally sleep. It helps be even during the day after I’ve already meditated. It sticks with you all day and it just feels really good, like a weight lifted off of your shoulders. I would definitely recommend this to everyone suffering from multiple things. It even has extra things you can use, for example, it has mediating to people who are coping with cancer! It’s just amazing!
My head is still on my shoulders...

I always stressed myself out easily and then COVID came along... I had just gotten divorced, was a single mom of 3, schools had closed and the remote learning started, eventually I was furloughed from my job. I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself. I was trying my best to help my kids with school but I was having such a hard time getting out of bed because I was feeling so down. I couldn’t sleep, my mind was constantly racing, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I kept seeing the ads for headspace (free for the unemployed) and one day I decided to download the app. I am so glad I did. Ever since I started I’ve been able to slow my thoughts down. I don’t get so upset/angry as quickly as I used to and I’ve finally been able to sleep at night. My kids also enjoy meditating with me in the evening and now they ask me every night to listen to headspace when it’s time for bed. Thank you Headspace for helping me keep my sanity and allowing me to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The best for a grieving mom.
by Scrapmypic on 2020/03/21 20:29
I am grieving the loss of my adult son. The series on grieving has helped the devastation I am experiencing. The mans voice is so kind and full of compassion. I have tried every one of these types of apps. For me this is the best one. There is a lot of content here. Thank you so much to the app makers and the man who does the the grief meditations. So it has been a year an half since I wrote that and I can say this is hands down the best of this sort of app. Thank the universe I found it. I have used many of the meditations and the sleep content. They just keep making the app better and better. Andy I have learned is the male voice on most of the meditations. His compassion comes thru his voice. There is so much wisdom and love here. I’m gushing a bit but I am just so grateful for this app. I believe there is something for anyone and everyone. Is is well worth the price. They are so good at adding new content and covering all most any situation you might find your self in. Thank you Andy you help me get thru each day and sleep at night.
Great app, but only one voice (sort of)
by nicknamenickleback on 2019/06/05 19:21
This app has a lot of different courses ranging from basic 1, 2, and 3 to a “reframing loneliness” course etc.. The range of content is great, but my issue is that apart from the basics 1, 2, and 3 courses, as well as some walking meditations (voiced by a woman) everything I’ve heard so far is all done by the same guy. He has a job to do, to make sure he is a serene and calm presence, talking into your ear. But how he says things comes across as not being genuine at times. It’s totally random, and thankfully doesn’t happen too often, but sometimes I’ll have to skip one of the sessions because I just can’t relate to the way he’s saying things. It’ll come across like he is trying too hard to sound calm in his ‘sexy meditation voice’. He seems like a genuine dude, I think that just the sheer amount of courses they made sort of forced him to create habits in the way he says things, I speculate that it’s dependent on how many he had to record at any given time, but who knows. Overall this app has helped me greatly, but what I mentioned above still bothers me.
THIS!
by Juliecis on 2019/02/24 15:44
A meditation for all our human ailments. I have spent much of my life trying to improve character flaws that hold me back from where I want to be. I have long recovered from active alcoholism, yet continued to struggle with impatience, bursts of anger, and other very much unwanted flaws, simply lost on how to heal. 30 days into meditation with HeadSpace, and I feel like a new person... light, and with hope. Already, things that used to frustrate me are falling off, just noticing them, often laughing quietly at how free I feel or at how good it felt to not be reactive in a given situation. I traded counseling for yoga years ago and yoga has provided a great relief, both physically and spiritually. THIS! The guided meditations through HeadSpace... is the next, and perhaps the final, solution to the feeling of hopelessness and a life of daunting flaws. I am joyous to find that with simple and pleasant discipline, physically at rest, no “work” to do, I am learning how to let the weight of the world (of thought) go, making room for what is becoming such a natural place of peace and joy.
Different and Transformative
by AlexaRoberta on 2018/05/23 12:45
I love headspace. I started with the three minute meditations. From the first meditation, my life improved. That is not an exaggeration. I have progressed through all of the three-minute and five of the ten-minute meditation sessions at this point. The ten-minute sessions take the cornerstone that you will build in the three-minute sessions and build on it using the same, very low-key but powerful narrator/guide and discrete, simple steps that will anchor you physically and emotionally to your present space. I am at this time in life going through extraordinarily difficult circumstances, and head space has made as much if not more of a difference positively for me than any medication or other meditative technique I have tried. For those not in any particularly difficult situation, headspace has the ability to enhance daily existence. I begin my day with Headspace and I make an additional 10 minutes in the middle of my workday for headspace. I hope that you try this app and add that it does as much for you as it has for me.
Transformation
by To4tn8 on 2018/10/06 12:20
Big word here above but it applies. I was a classic overstressed executive, choosing too much work and decompressing with alcohol every night. It was unsustainable, until I got cancer. So I took some research and a plane flight to a clinic in China. While here at the clinic for six weeks, I listened to headspace every day, sometimes in the morning when I wake up and sometimes before sleep at night. Cancer treatments did their job but the headspace was a key contributor to my healing. One of the modules on Headspace was centered on healing, or rehab, and this was focused visualization that fueled your mind to assist the body in healing. I loved it. I moved on to the nodule on sleep, a three-part series, and that has had an impact on a key area of need. My MRI is tomorrow, it will tell us if the tumors are gone. Naturally that is the result I and my family want, but the experience has been wonderful regardless. Headspace was a big part of that over the last six weeks. Thank you for developing such a wonderful program, it’s become part of my lifestyle,
Hands-down the best guided meditation app
by erin mikula on 2017/12/16 18:05
I have attention-deficit disorder as well as generalized anxiety that affect my ability to “get out of my head”. Headspace has been a savior to me. It has helped me determine that there is a time and place for every feeling instead, where as before I would hate myself for having feelings that I did not want, which in turn made it very difficult to understand and accept how I was truly feeling. It has been a built-up habit over my 22 years of life, but this app has helped me to live a less-cluttered life. With that being said, along with this app, fitness has been a very important role in my life, especially running and yoga. When I stretch, I become more mindful. I am a subscriber, and I love that you have running and cycling as exercising meditations, but could you consider adding in a guided meditation for stretching as well? Thank you for all that you have done to change mine as well as millions of other peoples lives. You completely deserve your rating. 😊
The app I never thought I needed
by kaizen3105 on 2018/08/30 15:39
I've tried meditating on and off for a few years but could never stick with the practice. After I started using Headspace, I was hooked after day one. While it does seem like a hefty price tag, what it teaches me during a meditation session as well as how to incorporate the practice into every day life is priceless. Headspace takes a different approach than most other meditation/mindfulness apps by not only teaching you the techniques, but also teaching you how to apply mindfulness with everything that you do. The app has taught me how to recognize when I get lost in my thoughts and react appropriately. I even think of being mindful ahead of time when I know there is an event in my life that would have consumed my thoughts in the past. I would definitely recommend Headspace to everyone, even if you don't think you need it because it can reveal things about yourself and your mind that can help to improve your life in ways you didn't realize.
Replacing my social media
by jennibean123 on 2019/08/10 14:57
I’ve had an on-again/off-again relationship with headspace for a few years. I love the app, but I’ve had trouble committing and usually fall away after a week or so. However, after having a stressful week, I deleted social media. I was still wanting something to help manage my thoughts, so I returned to Headspace. Since my last use (about a year ago), they’ve added many courses and sessions. And it’s pretty reasonably priced, too! I do one when I wake, one during a short break at work, one when I get home, and one before sleep. I feel better than ever, even though the stresses are still there. I’m especially fond of group meditation, it’s nice to feel a part of something. I love all the options and the reminders. Plus the goal of completing a course is enough to keep me coming back and get in the habit. I think it’s one I’ll keep this time. My brain needs it. I love this app and everyone involved in developing and creating it!! Thanks headapace!!
Great app however...
by carolineehall91 on 2019/06/18 01:30
The gamification of this app is counterintuitive. For example I had a streak of over 100 days. I was so proud of that and it kept me motivated to continue. However my streak got wiped and I’m not even sure why. My boyfriend joked that this app that’s supposed to help me relax and reframe thoughts has me upset because I missed a day. If I look at my journey I see that each session date is sequential and doesn’t miss a date. This is the second time this has happened to me. I don’t know why my streak gets erased, and sometimes I feel like it adds a day randomly. I don’t think this would bother me so much if I wasn’t paying for this. And I know that this feature of the app is the least important aspect or function of the app. But for a product that’s supposed to help you practice mindfulness and acceptance this doesn’t help the users. Now that my streak has reset for the second time I felt the need to review. I hope you can fix this bug. Or at least let users know how the streak is measured, because you can meditate each calendar day but that doesn’t mean it counts for your streak.
A REALLY good app - thank you for creating it!
by MJF in HI on 2018/04/15 02:19
This app has changed my life. After going through some really weird and confusing mid-life events starting about 7 months ago I developed insomnia and anxiety. Never having experienced either before I was very ill equipped to cope with what to me were entirely new feelings and worries. I stumbled on Headspace, and have meditated every day for the last six months. Although it takes some time, if you stick with it, these methods really work. I’m sleeping again, I’m less worried, and I think I understand my own mind and perhaps the minds of others a little bit better. I’ve subsequently read a fair bit about meditation, and my impression is that the methods in Headspace are very much the real deal. They are also presented in a completely secular manner, which I appreciate. The ‘pro’ packs get a little mystical, but, at least for me, in a thought provoking and fun sort of way. I honestly believe this app has contributed to better world.
Worth every $$$$
by martin726 on 2018/12/13 16:53
Due to my severe anxiety I have searched for any resource to help me maintain my anxiety. When I found Headspace, I felt comfortable proceeding with the free trial, but I had planned to cancel it once the trial expired. I figured,”do you really want to pay for someone to tell you to sit down, close your eyes and follow your breath?” There are videos online that can help. However! When I started using the app I saw its potential for achieving my goal of maintaining my anxiety. The app has a ton of courses and guides to help you with different aspects of your mind. They have guides and courses on using meditation to help with productivity, personal relationships and sleep. I’ve done many of the guides and courses and I will tell you that they have been extremely helpful! They’ve actually exposed me to different ways of approaching meditation that aims to tackle various issues associated with anxiety. I did subscribe, but because it’s for my mental and it’s a great app I find it to be worth every dollar.
Great! Please add a Body Scan Section
by Lauren C. D. on 2017/10/02 21:31
Update: 2-Oct-2017 Back to awesome!! I love that you can do multiple meditation packs simultaneously, and yay you added the Body Scan in, as requested!! Thank you! I took an inadvertent break from Headspace due to phone issues, but now I'm back and can't wait to have this in my everyday routine again!!! Update: 27-Feb-2017 Well it Was awesome the First 14 days... now I can't get anything to download, it somehow lost my downloads of previous sessions and lost my 11-Day streak as a result! It just says "waiting to download" for all my upcoming sessions in Level 2! I'm Very disappointed! Please fix this, and I'll restore the stars docked for this. Still gets an extra star because out of the gate it was still wonderful. --- 21-Feb-2017 Awesome meditation practice! So many people say they don't have time for this or that, but the 10-minute practice is wonderful because Everyone can find 10 minutes out of their day. I just started Level 2 of the Foundation series and I can't wait to continue my new daily routine! One thing I'd request is a guided "Body scan"-- every meditation in the training has had it, but it would be nice to get a clearer idea of what specifically to focus on. A few friends and I did a yoga teacher training, which heavily included meditations, and we all found it helpful to have a guided body scan, especially when we were first starting out. Otherwise this app is amazing and my new favorite morning routine!
Some pretty bad customer service
by GB278 on 2018/02/06 03:21
The idea and simplicity of headspace is good. I had their annual subscription. Had. However, their customer service to two recent inquiries were so bad, I had to put myself in a state of being mindful just to keep the cool. Don’t get angry. The not-so-pleasant experience from customer service turns to this: “C’mon, simply note it and back to breathing.” And just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water, the thought of their poor customer service once again enters my mind. “Note it. Brush it aside. Focus on the breath.” Cool. All done. So, because of remaining cool, here’s the good to this: I was able to later take the time, research several other meditation or mindfulness apps, and find three very good ones. Of those, I’ve purchased one that I absolutely love. It was like “where were you all my life?” And if the app could speak, it was as if it said, “I was always here. You just had to sift through the weeds to experience what really matters.”
Great guided meditations but frustrated with the gamification
by Jpweller on 2019/04/01 03:56
I can thank Headspace for helping me make meditating a daily habit. Their Stress and Anxiety course helped me a lot through a recent breakup. I’ve now moved onto other courses, which I find equally as helpful. However, I believe their gamification of meditation goes against the mindful ethos. For this reason, I am giving it four stars. I shouldn’t be made feel guilty for not using Headspace for my daily meditation. If they are going to gamify meditation, they should allow you to add time you’ve meditated off the app. This would actually be a reason to keep the app once I no longer want to use guided meditations as frequently. But I will probably cancel my subscription after a year. I do highly recommend to anyone getting into meditation to subscribe for at least a year. Or use any other meditation app. It’s changed my relationship to my emotions for the better, made me more present in social interactions, and made me more empathetic and compassionate. I encourage everyone to give it a try.
Every meditation is the same
by Em122rm on 2018/04/14 03:47
I love the user interface on this app. I like the animations and the narrator. The app makes you want to meditate everyday and has definitely helped me keep a consistent practice. That in itself is very valuable. Unfortunately all of the meditations are pretty much exactly the same just repackaged under different themes. Essentially, if you do the basics (which you can get a taste of for free), that’s what all the other meditations are like. There’s no variety. They managed to package the same meditation under different themes by slapping on a different introductory quote. After that quote, you just repeat the same meditation. For example, you want a meditation that focuses on love? Well they just provide a little definition on what unconditional love is and then you do the exact same meditation you did in the basics package. I certainly don’t mind doing the same meditation for a month or so. But definitely not justifiable for an entire year. I would advice anyone against paying a whole year subscription for the app unless they want to do the same exact meditation daily.
What an amazing experience!
by Pie911 on 2018/11/18 17:41
I’ve been using headspace for a year now and it has been a life-changing experience for me. Before I ever starting mediating, I was always caught up in my thoughts and I was taking them way too seriously. I use to overthink way too much about myself - who I am and if I am capability of getting through the hurdles that life throws in my way. Once I started college, I decided to give mediation a go since I became convinced of the great benefits it can bring after reading about the science behind it and thought it would help me be more present with my work/activities instead of ruminating about the past. I feel more distance between my thoughts/feeling so I am now able to just let them go and be more present with whatever I’m doing without judging myself too harshly. I definitively recommend that others should try headspace and also read some of the science of mediation online so you can be aware of the many benefits it can bring.
Life changer
by fdahseff on 2019/07/11 17:29
My mom recommended me this app after I mentioned that I was getting tight breath, and she said she has been using this app and said I should give it a try, so I did and the difference is night and day, the only drawback for some people is there is a paid membership but the “basics” lessons are free and they have to make their money somehow. I am on day 4 with 40 minutes of meditation time and every day I get deeper and deeper in the meditation. Also there is a lot of customization for the app like what you are meditating to help, when do you want to meditate, and you can set reminders for when to meditate. Also there is different lesson times you can set if you maybe want to do a 3 minute session or a 5 minute session or a 10 minute session which is the one I’ve been doing. Also before anybody starts saying anything I do not work for this company I was not paid to say this and I am not affiliated with this company in any way neither am I a robot.
Wonderful and awesome but could be even better with simple changes

I love this program (paid). The content seems endless. There is something for everyone and every situation. I have tried many other meditation apps and this one far and away has the best content. There are a few limitations in the app that could be improved with simple changes! 1. Allow more features with the Buddy thing. Right now all you can do is see when your busy last used headspace and send through the app with no notifications one of a few pre written messages. Why can’t we talk directly with them? Suggest meditations we think they might like? Say original comments? 2. It would be great if there was a clear space that collected everything you’ve ever done so you can go back and find it. There is a “recents” section, but it’s not comprehensive and it changes. 3. Allow family interaction through the app for those with family plans.
Good, but not as great a selection as it might seem
by Pierrot606 on 2017/11/14 22:21
While I enjoy the user friendliness of the app, appreciate the videos as well as the range of meditation themes, I’ve begun to regret having subscribed for a whole year in advance. The more packages and singles I look into, the more it seems that a lot of the sessions ultimately follow the same structure, use one (or more) of the same hand full of techniques, just the “packaging” changes (mediation for sleep, productivity, healing etc.). The singles seem to be more varied, but they, too, largely follow the same layout, just with a different theme wrapped around it. If only there were at least more variety to the visualization technique; I love meditating using visualization, but the one I’ve come across in all but one case (liquid sun light) does not do it for me. Granted, I haven’t listened to all sessions offered, and I’ll gladly take back what I’ve said if there’s more variety to the session structure or the techniques and I’ve just haven’t seen it yet. It would be disappointing, though, if the current pattern I’m seeing holds up for the rest of the packages.
Good but needs some work

Headspace has definitely became one of my go to apps on my phone. But there are some things that I really dislike about this app. For one, you can only get one pack thing which is the basics. So what if I finished the basics. Where would I bring my daily meditation to if there are no more things to do one this app. Also, I think you shouldn’t have to pay for almost ALL the things on this app because really, this app is to help settle the mind, I feel this app is just trying to get me to pay some money. I almost feel like deleting this app when I finish the basics because of the lack of things I can do. All I would like for you creator to do, is make some of those pack thingys free like the basics. Not have almost all of them be for a membership vip thing. I really want to continue using this app but if this problem isn’t fixed I might delete it. I don’t want to but it might be my only option. Thank you for creating this app at least. Your “go to” reviewer, Crazyacts123
Simple and Precise
by TomboMcDombo on 2018/09/01 00:16
This guided meditation app is exactly what I was looking for. The app asks how experienced you are with meditation and why you are engaging in it in the first place. After this, it gets you straight into the practice. The guide has a very calm voice and gives clear directions. My favorite aspect of this app is that the meditation is very grounded and feels directly useful. It doesn’t engage in what I would call “woo woo”. No references to loving kindness or chakras; just direct prompts to focus on very real things like your breathing and the sensations in your body. The guide also does a great job of making meditation feel achievable by quelling any worries you have about your mind not being perfectly tame and calm. On top of all this, the app tracks how many days you meditate and for how long, which is a great way to stay motivated and track your progress. Overall, this app has been a great help to me and is totally worth a try if you are trying make meditation a habit.
Thanks

Evolving

Kid Version
by ZoeNightshade4life on 2020/10/20 00:03
Love this app!!!!! However I have a family, and I would like not to share the same account with them and my kids enjoy meditating, though the meditations aren’t really for them. I would love for this company to create a kids app where I can manage their accounts and track their mindfulness!!!!!
A gift

Hanging on
by Bon Kid on 2020/10/19 20:04
I am a military vet with severe PTS and struggle with anxiety, anger and depression daily.
This is a warning to new people!!
by txtgghhhhhsfgehheidisud on 2020/10/19 06:54
The app is great and relaxing but before you install it you have to know that you have to pay for this, you can only get some lessons for free but everything else you have to pay for!
expensive

Just so it
by missmyMyst on 2020/10/18 16:52
Been doing headspace for about two years.

Great app

Not cool.

If you start your day with a meditation session, it will set the tone for the rest of your day.
by cabandor on 2020/10/10 12:56
I contrasted my prior anxiety-filled day with the day I did a meditation session in the morning. I feel like it made a huge difference in the quality of my day. Remember that meditation is not something that you do just for a time block out of your day, it’s something that you carry with you into your day with a positive quality of mind. Of course, when you choose to meditate is totally up to you. Find what works for you: your individual recipe.

Great but I wish there were more for the poor folk 👁👄👁

by Tunacedes on 2020/10/05 17:15
I’ve been using Headspace for more than three years (maybe four?).
Would be above and beyond if I could sync it with my google calendar to set a specific meditation or workout for a day and time.

by erp989 on 2020/10/05 04:58
i’m someone who has ptsd and when i’m panicking i can’t listen to men’s voices in any capacity because it sends me into panic. even when i’m fine and just want to have a guided meditation, i can’t deal with men’s voices because it sends me into a spiral. i’ll have to look into a different app (again). for some of the meditations in this app, there’s only an option for a mans voice, and i can’t handle that.
not many options for free

Good but...
by insomniacwouldlikesleepcast on 2020/10/05 02:04
I like it but I wish there were options to download the sleepcasts.

Thanks

No exaggeration.

by Addictor480 on 2020/10/02 22:49
So i looove this app and (almost) everything about it it is able to put me to sleep when normally i have trouble, BUT, unless you pay real money (i have very little) you only get like two/three things!

Thanks
