Description
Pro metronome - The best metronome app. Period. Featured in Apple's WWDC 2014 showcase "Apps We Can't Live Without." ------------ Pro metronome is a powerful tool that helps you master both daily practice and stage performance. It has redefined how more than 4 million people sync to a beat. At the heart of the app lies our extremely precise, studio-quality metronome which we've refined even further with 3.13. The free version is packed with features. We feature 13 different metronome tones including even a voice option. Running our newest RTP (Real-Time Playback) technology, our metronome clocks an accuracy of ±20μs. Pro metronome is all about customization. Change beat tones, accents, and even the dynamics of your rhythm ("f", "mf", "p" and "mute"). The Pro Version unlocks even more features including subdivisions and polyrhythm settings. Create complex patterns with triplets, dotted notes and non-standard time signatures. The app supports several ways to experience beats. The free version of the app includes sound, but upgrading to Pro enables Visual, Flash, Vibrate and Airplay Modes. Visual and Vibrate Modes are great when you're playing loud instruments or when you need to FEEL the beat. Flash Mode uses the device's camera flash to sync up the entire band easily. You can even use Airplay Mode to beam the metronome to a projector or Apple TV! Pro metronome doesn't just help you keep time, it also helps you train. Pro metronome built the Rhythm Trainer which mutes a selected bar in the beat, allowing your brain to fill in the gap and thus train your innate sense of timing. It's a simple, heavily requested idea not found in any other app to date. Pro metronome also supports a host of secondary features: background play mode, in-app volume adjust and even the ability to save song/tempo playlists to share with friends. It's a powerful, elegant and intuitive app - a must for the modern musician. ---------------------- Pro metronome Basic Features: * Intuitive, ad-free interface even in the free version * Dynamic time signature settings * 13 different time-keeping styles, including a counting voice * Dynamic accent settings, including f, mf, p, and mute indicators * Tap in your own BPM * Color Mode – see the beats graphically displayed on screen * Pendulum Mode, for visual feedback * Power-Saving/Background Modes – works in lock screen, home, or in another app * In-app volume adjustment * Extreme precision (±20μs) using RTP (Real Time Playback) technology * Timer to help you keep track of your session * Tone generators * Landscape Mode for increased resolution * Universal app – supported on iPhone, iPod and iPad * Audiobus support * Apple Watch support Pro Features include: * Sensory aids: LED/Screen Flash Mode (iPhone 4 and above) and vibration (only available for iPhones) * Subdivisions including triplets, dotted notes, and many more * Polyrhythms – stack two rhythm tracks on top of each other * Programmable playlists – save and load your favorite settings * Dual Screen Mode using AirPlay (requires iPhone 4s/iPad2 and above) * Wirelessly playlists sharing * Rhythm Trainer – helps to develop your steady beats * Stage Mode – the indispensable companion for performing musicians. * practice Mode – allows you to programme automatic tempo change to suit your practice regime. ===About EUMLab=== EUMLab helps unleash your musical talent! Very useful app for a great value
Can’t change settings
by tttttt11123/:; on 2021/01/20 13:33
What a impenetrable interface. Audio is off and no way to turn it back on. Beat block is on and no way to turn it off.
Best metronome app

Best metronome app
by BLAllen0 on 2021/01/11 03:05
I used a digital metronome but had to replace it suddenly. I decided to try this app on my phone in a pinch and love it. Now it’s always available and easy to use! Thank you.
Always Reliable
by Jeremy Gerritsen on 2021/01/09 05:48
This metronome is always consistent and provides an easy to use interface that I’ve loved for years. It doesn’t get more simple and easy to use than this!
Update constraints please!
by Matthew Dutt on 2021/01/04 05:08
Great app! It is almost perfect the way it is. It just needs updated constraints to adapt to screen sizes of newer devices better.
Stop asking me to turn the volume up.
by Hemalac on 2021/01/02 16:28
The app has a nice clean interface and works well except for the following: I use just the lights on the screen to keep time and don’t want the sound, however, the app creates a pop up telling me “oops! Turn up the volume to hear the beats.” Super annoying, I have to clear it every time I press play. Is it really necessary to remind people that they need the volume up to hear sounds? I wouldn’t leave a review for such a small thing normally but it’s just so annoying.
New update please
by vkhhy on 2020/12/31 18:54
Great app. Please updated so it can be used on the Apple Watch
Great!

Wishing for a better timer
by boosuvkschsngeitnAck on 2020/12/19 22:16
It’s a nice app but I would really appreciate a timer that would automatically stop the metronome after a certain period of time. You can set a warm-up routine but the metronome just keeps clicking when it’s done!
Cool👍🏽
by jsjnsjdj113 on 2020/12/18 22:53
Pretty good since I use it a lot, like for playing instruments like piano and drums. I use it a lot for drums
Great app! Lots of potential.
by Djbrdj on 2020/12/18 20:51
It’s a good app easy to use and polished display. I’ve had it for years I even got the pro version. The thing is that the app leaves you wanting more. I wish it had a voice counter option that could count up to a custom amount of measures. Since the pro version seems to focus on customizability it would be a great feature to add. It would really bump the overall value of this already great app!
This is to good to be true !!!
by cookoohead5 on 2020/12/18 17:42
I love this app very much. For me it is really hard for me to slow down when I practice, so this app is a big help! I definitely recommend this.
Good metronome
by Gavin Shaw on 2020/12/16 21:30
Awesome
Useful, but please remove volume warning!
by proflutist on 2020/12/16 13:41
This app has great features and is very reliable. I love that it clicks rather than beeps, so there’s no pitch to worry about. The one thing that drives me insane is when I turn the volume all the way down, it pops up a window that says “oops! Volume is too low!” And I have to click out of it before I can use the damned thing. I frequently need to clock my students while they are playing, which I obviously can’t do with sound. There are many times when a visual representation only would be helpful... even old school metronomes have the option to use click + light or only light. Please, please let me decide if I want it to be silent! I do this enough that it seriously makes me want to rip my hair out and find another app.
My review on Pro Metronome
by JMCyr07 on 2020/12/15 20:15
As a 13 year old, I am trying to start a band and pro metronome is helping me get started. My Piano Teacher introduced the app to me and I immediately fell in love with it. It helps me write my own songs and play other songs that I admire. I only wish that it had a section to it where you could see how to use it. If there is, I haven’t found it. Anyway I love this app and the fact that it’s free.
Best metronome app out there
by cookoo chris on 2020/12/11 20:36

Great Metronome App
by izbing on 2020/12/09 04:05
This app is a great choice for metronome. You can subdivide which is handy and the tempo dial is pretty cool. For a beginning guitar player, this is a must.
Access to my local network?
by egress123 on 2020/12/08 06:31
Why does this app request to access my local network devices? It’s is quite suspicious that a simple metronome app which has nothing to do with network devices ask for such permission. Be careful when downloading this app.
It’s Free
by Goldenburr on 2020/12/08 06:13
Three stars because I remember being able to use the full app and now I have to pay for subdivisions. I’m not a fan of that. Charge me for all of it or none. Used to be a favorite, but not anymore. It keeps tempo, that’s about it. If that’s ALL you need, then download this app, but don’t expect more.
Great tool for writing music
by Thedonnmega on 2020/12/07 02:34
As a songwriter, I use this tool all the time. It’s almost impossible to record a song and get the right energy out of it without knowing, and committing to, a BPM. I use this metronome to tap out the beat in my head whenever I’m inspired so I can get to work on my DAW when I’m able.

Look no further
by CavScoutCasey on 2020/11/25 00:11
This is simply the best metronome app. Ever. It’s only like $3 for the pro version, no ads, works flawlessly, and can enter in poly fills, accents, 8th -triplets -16th -8th triplets... all that fun stuff. If you drum you’ll want this and your band mates will live you for it. Or any instrument for that matter to learn how to stay on beat in your head which gives us drummers less of a struggle keeping your rhythm on track!! lol rock on!!! 😎
Awesome!
by 黃宇柔 on 2020/11/24 21:41

Best metronome ever
by Pikachu Jackson on 2020/11/14 08:15
I’ve been trying to learn bass for the last few months and only recently discovered what a metronome is used for... this app is absolutely perfect for learning rhythm and timing. I love how it’s not just one digital sounding click noise when you can actually change it to sound like real drums and arrange how you want it to play. One unique feature that I love is that it stays playing in the background on your phone no matter what. Meaning I can simultaneously record myself playing while the beat is still going. This app is more than just a metronome it’s a portable drum machine. FOR FREE.
Best one for me
by fjredjd on 2020/11/13 05:42
I’m a beatboxer and using this I was able to go from 100 up to 200 In less than 2 hours just because of the clicks it’s makes it super easy to know when you go and when you don’t go it’s amazing.
Garbage
by bug bug buggy bugger on 2020/11/13 00:59
This app says its free, but it can do almost nothing without pro. No subdivision and no tuner. WHAT GARBAGE
Outstanding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
by geysendhn on 2020/11/08 03:55
The free version is good. The pro (paid) one is just outstanding! The features in the app are great. All different tempos, progressive tempo and other elements make it a great tool to practice the guitar. I love it.
Lost pro status
by cubebraun on 2020/11/05 16:35
I love this app and want to keep using it. I purchased pro a few years ago and suddenly I lost my pro status. The website and support are down or nonexistent. How do I get the pro version I already paid for back?
Fantastic
by Jaydenedyaj on 2020/11/05 13:01
Pro Metronome saved my life when I played my instrument!!!!!! You have to get it!!!!!!!!

by cutiechick on 2020/11/02 20:49
Is their a tuner?!
Great app... when it works.
by mimeafan on 2020/11/01 20:13
I used to live this app: sleek design, easy to use, just enough features. Pro Metronome used to be my go-to. Over the past year, however, I have not been able to run the metronome for longer than 30 seconds without it crashing. Being as I actually paid for this app, I would expect it to be at least as functional as other free alternatives, e.g. Google’s metronome. It’s disappointing. I don’t even use it anymore really. But occasionally, I will forget the problems that occur, and I will absent-mindedly open it up, only to be quickly reminded why I no longer use it.

Weird visual bug
by Positivez and Negativez on 2020/10/10 05:16
This app is awesome overall, and it really helps when I practice the piano and violin. Only issue is that the play button seems like half a centimeter off from where it should be. This isn’t a big app breaking bug, but it keeps appearing every now and then, and sometimes my ocd just ticks off. Otherwise, great app, keep up the good work!
For people who complain
by Jenna Reviews on 2020/10/07 19:21
I thin the reason the beats keep changing by itself is because your phone has ghost touch.
Amazing
by bmater5000 on 2020/10/01 16:10
I have used this app for 3 years now. The pro version is definitely worth it unlike other apps. I would recommend this app to anyone.

No support
by BingoBangoBongoIrving on 2020/09/23 00:51
I like the way the app works for the most part but there is no help. Going to the developer site give you errors and invalid security protocols. A little shady and I would think this would be an App Store violation.
Great app
by AllanHarris on 2020/09/22 18:00
Can’t beat (no pun intended) a metronome that’s free. I just need basic tempos for a few finger style patterns I practice on guitar. Does the job A
So Great
by Elithecool2344 on 2020/09/22 00:23
I have been using this to practice my guitar and it has been so helpful! I thing it is really great especially the pro version, the pro version is great for people who want to be a little more advanced. So people who hate it are crazy, I think it’s great for practicing!!

Can’t Change Order of songs
by Alexc233 on 2020/09/17 02:52
I need to change the order of the songs On 11 Pro Please fix!
Please add...
by Dufjrjfmf on 2020/09/15 21:17
Hi, I recently wrote to you about being able to configure the metronome speed buttons so that, for example, pressing the arrow buttons would change the tempo by 10bpm instead of 1bpm. I’d still like to see that. I went ahead and purchased the practice add on which is cool but I have another request: I’d like to be able to save automated sequences. By that I mean: I have several warm up routines using the Automator. I’d like to be able to quickly load each one (e.g., like a song). So to be clear, the ability to load warm up routines that have different sections. Thanks!

Best metronome ever!
by Rico Pupo on 2020/08/25 14:12
We use this Metronome so much when I am playing my piano and it helps me so much. The only part it doesn’t help me with is when I have to do the rit (retardando), otherwise it’s the best I’ve seen. My piano teacher has the same metronome and she also likes it we have never tried any other Metronome.

Free & intuitive
by Silbia Han on 2020/08/20 00:52
Love the app esp bc it’s free and using it is quite intuitive. I learned guitar by myself but recently been training my rhythm and strumming. I know some about music theory but not that much and actually hearing the beats has been so helpful in the learning process as well. Learn a lot and it’s freakin easy. If you’re afraid to start, just do it and download this app. You’ll figure it out and don’t cost a thing.
Perfect
by aciddecay on 2020/08/17 19:46
It’s exactly what you would want! A very simple and easy to use metronome. I use it for my daily practice.
Song Arraignment
by Fonzo Savage on 2020/08/15 00:18
I used to be able to rearrange my songs but now I can’t. I have an iPhone 11 and my app is up to date. Was that feature taken off? My friend has a droid and he can still do it. I would it the three lines, then expand the page, and it’d let me rearrange the songs. Help, please.
Scam-y / deceiving upgrade to Pro
by scaryboio on 2020/08/11 19:02
I downloaded to be able to use the subdivision but discovered it was only available in the pro version. Fine, not a huge deal so I attempted to upgrade for what was advertised on sale for $2.99 from original price of $9. The app slowed way down and ultimately received an error message to try again because the upgrade didn’t work. I attempted again, but this time the price INCREASED to $3.99 with original price being $11. Seems really scam-y. I’ll find a better app...this one is stupid.
Amazing
by which nickname will work? on 2020/08/10 23:24
This app is great, and it has a lot of features, such as you being able to change the tempo, the bpm, and the 4/4 setting is not static as it usually is in other metronomes. I read some bad reviews saying, ‘The last beat will just mute itself!’ But don’t listen to that, just go to settings and turn off rhythm trainer, And there are other reviews saying, “the tempo will randomly jump up” but that’s because you’re in practice mode, you dimwit. It’s also free. and if you want an superb experience, just pay a small one-time payment! This is AMAZING!
No watch support
by Jarudo on 2020/08/10 11:03
Contrary to what it lists, there is NO watch support. It’ll tell you it needs to be updated to run on Apple Watch.

Order set list not working
by kentondrums on 2020/08/07 18:41
I paid for set list upgrade, but do not have ability to change song order in a set list. So I deleted the app and then purchased the full pro 7 feature upgrade thinking maybe it might fix the problem. But still not working. I’ve watched a video showing how to make changes, so I’m confident that it’s not user error. I really like the app, but will not be able to use unless this gets fixed. By chance is there a bug that needs to be fixed?

by Kblack77 on 2020/07/31 02:26
I used to be able to arrange my songs in my playlists for each weekends set by clicking “edit” and then dragging them in the order I needed for stage mode but now it appears that function is gone. 😭 please bring it back!!! Otherwise, this app has been a great tool I use every weekend.
Why is the app asking me to buy the pro version again?

I already bought and paid for it. And now the app doesn’t allow me to access the pro features anymore???
Greatest metronome app ever!
by FieldEffect007 on 2019/09/02 19:24
I have been playing percussion basically my entire life, and have gone through quite a few different metronomes that were okay. I mean, they kept time, sure, but they couldn’t do a good many things that would have helped me improve. This metronome does that. For instance, the 4/4 time setting is not static on this metronome. You can change the number of beats per measure among other things in case you need to practice playing a song like “The Ocean” by Led Zeppelin (which is in 7/8 time). Plus, I’m sure I need not mention the amazing array of sounds and customization available in this app. You can even play to uploaded songs. No need to tap it out yourself and find the correct timing before going off of the actual song and using the metronome (which is time consuming and quite annoying, if you ask me). You can just hit the song you need and it will give you the correct timing and bpm for it. These producers made an amazing app that is free (or includes a small, one-time purchase if you want a REALLY good experience like me) and is very high quality. They just did an outstanding job and I can HIGHLY recommended this app to anyone who has been a long-time musician or even is just starting out. To the producers, thank you so much. This app has really done a lot for the quality of my percussion playing. I appreciate all the hard work that went into this.
The Greatest Metronome for Me!
by AngelLola820 on 2019/06/19 02:59
Well, I never really downloaded myself. I was recommended this app because of my Piano Teacher. Turns out, It is a solid one! I have been using this app ever since I STARTED PIANO 3 YEARS AGO!!! I can tell you this producers, you've done a very well done job! But, I only do the basics since my teacher told me not to mess with anything else. And I know why, since it's really complicated for me. Remember, I'm just getting THE HANG of it! So I would like to make a suggestion for you. Can you please do a tutorial or instructions once they downloaded it? Because, the new people trying out your app DOESN'T have a clue what to do! That would be nice for me and the new people! Also, you made it easier for me! It's much better for me because I don't have to do my own Metronome! (Besides It didn't work out good 😬 😂) It's even FREE, so you don't have to use ANY CENT from you wallet! Thank YOU guys for this app. It is making my life better and also as a Piano student! Wish you guys the best and have a happy year! Love, Angellw820 ❤️
So far the most professional metronome I can find
by Xxin2018 on 2018/12/03 06:52
I have to say it wasn’t intuitive when I first bought it (I paid, didn’t I?). I never had music instrument training in my life but recently started to play drums. I got a few metronome apps, paid or free. This one looks a bit complicated, for a couple of months I only used the basic functions. When I started to train for doubles (the big big), it’s function to speed up automatically makes HUGE difference. It’s also super flexible to set subdivisions or triplets and save the tempo, so I can switch from rock drumming to jazz literally in a second. If you are serious about training, this is the only metronome you need, it has everything. Be a little patient and find out where everything is. I had no common sense on music, nothing was intuitive to me, but if I can find it, surely you can.
It’s not a bad app, but I was overwhelmingly frustrated.
by Azzy was here 😋 on 2018/09/09 17:50
Like I said, it’s not a bad app. It’s got great features and foreseeable success. I liked the fact that you could set timers and change the sound of each beat if you wanted, but I suggest not using the tap button to change the tempo. That’s not my main issue with my short lived experience with this app, but just to test it out, I was tapping along with the tempo I already had (120bpm) to see if it’d only change one or two numbers or not at all. It plummeted down to 80bpm; not even close. Other than that, everything was great...almost. I was trying to play music and I would have to keep stopping because the last beat would somehow keep muting itself. To add insult to injury, the tempo would move up two beats every few minutes, and I was entirely confused. My frustration continued to grow as pop ups to buy the full version assaulted my screen repeatedly. It kept opening different sections by itself and I couldn’t get anything done. Needless to say, it is no longer on my phone.
Just a great idea for you.
by Happyending1975 on 2015/11/29 15:52
I love this app. I haven't even touched upon all its features yet but I was curious to use it with my iwatch and hoped that it had this one feature in mind. Rather than simply being a remote control for the phone app, could the app integrate to the use of the vibration and pulse notification feature that the watch has? This could allow the wearer to feel the pulse of the tempo while in use. Sounds like a stretch but I'm sure someone out there is working on it. If not, you should. I could see this being a new and important tool in the studio or on live stage especially if you can sync between multiple devices. For studio use it would make sense if the DAW could control the start and stop function for the Iwatch wearer to stay in sinc with the recording. Good luck. Thanks for such a great app.
In-App Purchases Notification bug
by TwinBroz89 on 2015/09/23 00:45
I downloaded this app just recently because I wasn't satisfied with my other metronome app, and let me just say it blows it out of the water. Just one problem... On my phone, I have In-App Purchases disabled, because most apps I go onto love to flood you with In-App Purchases, which wasn't a problem since I disabled it. ...Until now. When I boot up the app (every single time, even when multi-tasking), I always get two of the same message: "Oops! Device not authorized for In-App Purchase. You must enable it in System Settings." I didn't mind it at first, but EVERY time I refer to a song and come back, it gives me the same notice again, and again, and again, until I delete the app, actually adjust the settings (which I adjusted years ago and can't remember how to fix nor will fix), or wait until the next update. This app has a lot of potential, so I'm hoping the review to fix this bug comes out soon.
Only one I need
by Ace1x570 on 2018/08/10 06:48
I love all of the features! I love everything about the app, I really do. I've had dozens of metronome apps but this is the only one I actually enjoy using. It's boring enough playing to a click, but these guys actually have given my click a bit of personality which enables me to play to my click as much as I should. My chops are better than ever and it's simply because of how much I use this app! My only wish is that I had a larger variety of sounds to choose from, as to blend into different songs a little more seamlessly. Id also like to have different color schemes to choose from. I know this sounds petty, but it's genuinely the ONLY thing I would change and I felt the need to add a negative to keep balance and plant seeds for my wishes to blossom from. 😂

I teach guitar/voice to kids in an after school Academy. I switched to this app two months ago and I love it! I make all my students get this app. It's beautiful, the interface is easy and there's so much control. I can change the sounds, change the beat block etc. But my fav part: a one button click that adds sub beats. I also play guitar professionally so I practice my speed picking on the regular. I'll try a hard lick real slow, and then with one tap (while my fingers are all warmed up) it basically doubled my tempo by adding the 8th note sub divisions. I can also easily change it to triplets which has been a feature that's hard to find on other apps. Great metronome. I'm very pleased.
Almost perfect but not quite.
by rsd22 on 2016/05/23 12:19
Why pay $16 on other metronome apps? Here's why. As a new drummer, I need all the help I can get with my timing and rhythm. This app is wicked neat and helps me with just that. My absolute favorite part of the app is the mute option. You can mute for a specified number of measures or random. Don't like random mutes, when using the voice counting and the count talking is the 'and'. Easier to tell it how many measures to be quiet. One more thing, the app hasn't been updated in a year. So here's my 2 cents. Having large numbers on the faceplate counting for You would be awesome. Like seeing a huge 2 or a 4 or a "2 and", flash on the screen, yeah that would be neat. The blinky bars at the top work but numbers would be light years better. I'm a pro user so I'd pay extra for Large number flashes. Please move the timer on the home screen away from landscape option They are too close together and I'm always hitting landscape when I want to access the timer. This gets annoying. Oh I'd pay a boatload to be able to put in my own grooves to practice too. But not $16. $8.00 you bet!!!!! OK. That's enough. Like I said time for an update and some new options to make an already good app, perfect. Make them in app purchases. I will buy them all.
Needs Update For Apple Watch 3!!
by Zephrym93 on 2017/09/27 00:34
I swear by this app more than other metronome apps. I did get the full Pro version and I have been satisfied with it. Just got an Apple Watch 3 (my first Apple Watch) and I notice a decent amount of bugs. The sound sometimes plays from the watch but mostly just starts clicking on my phone. The pre-programmed songs I made only sometimes work. And I think there desperately needs to be settings function on the watch so you can turn the sound off and have it vibrate instead. I’m a music teacher and it would be extremely convenient to have that as feature to subtly check tempo before starting a song in the middle of a performance. Hope this brings these issues to the light for everyone and hope we can get an update because I really do enjoy this app!
Tap tempo is all over the place, won’t use again.
by B. Wells Productions on 2017/12/02 01:38
I’ve been a Music producer for 10+ years. When someone sends me reference tracks I like to know the tempo. Whenever I get a new iPhone and need to know the tempo of a track on the go, I head to the App Store and type in tempo... I saw good reviews so I downloaded and tried to tap the tempo of the record. It was surprisingly annoying jumping up and down 10-15bpm around the tempo I’m trying to find. Very inconsistent with accurate tempos.. it took multiple tries tapping many times to get within a wide range of tempos, then I’d have to guess until I find the right tempo. Waste of time for someone who’s trying to use a reliable tempo tap. By the way, I’m an extremely experienced tapper and can keep pretty much perfect time, so there is no excuse for this tempo tap to be all over the place lol... sorry guys. Let me know if you guys update the tempo section of the app and I’ll test it for you!!
Great! (Kind of...)
by if we could walk across the water on 2017/07/13 11:57
TLDR; Set a click. Useable set list feature. Easy to preset. Awful click tones. I'm a working drummer and needed to set up a click track in a set list. It does just that. It works, it's easy enough to program, you can download the set as a playlist. Boom. Having an app like this on the market is ridiculously important and useful. The flipping back and forth between screens could be streamlined a little better instead of the weird page flip/attention to graphics. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the click tones are wretched. Only one of them are unusable in a live setting, and even the woodblock tone is relatively bothersome. There's either too much going on in the click itself (cowbell, jingles, kick drum) or it's a tingy digital thing that is useless. If there was a way to set the click tone I'd give it a million stars.
Good app
by TOBriant on 2016/01/06 20:17
This is a good app that they have improved over time. I recently discovered Stage Mode that is very helpful to me as I use the app on stage for our worship band. This app provides the click track for every song we do. It is easy to put each track together and sequence them. However, there are a few features that it doesn't have that would help us a lot. I need to be able to transfer tracks (or my entire list) to another device. I could switch between my iPhone and iPad if they were portable. Or I could transfer them to the band. The guitar players like to setup their delays according to the BPM of the song. The second feature that would help is to be able to set up set lists. I could preset them and just load the one I need for a particular day.
Features!
by Karlo-B on 2016/11/01 03:27
I just needed a metronome when I purchased this app and didn't explore or think I needed anything else. But I keep discovering things that have turned out to be really useful! I love the automator that allows you to program in a series of practice speed levels that can ramp up or down in speed as quickly or slowly as desired. It also calculates how long the practice series will take to complete. Most recently discovered the playlist that I'm using to program the desired time settings for the tunes in my repertoire--and there's a "stage" version that presents them in a larger, easy to access format. Too many features to mention. Who knew that a metronome could be so smart!
Great app with great features....But...
by "Hurk" on 2018/04/20 12:09
This app gets 2 stars from me because of what it aims to do with subdivisions and such (even though you must pay for them) without those features it would be one star. Why? Because it sells itself as a metronome. Something that keeps time...a rather important thing for all musicians. This metronome is broken and very inconsistent. Bad idea for new drummers that are working on internal time keeping ability. The metronome is as inconsistent, or more, than a brand new drummer that just started playing. I don’t know what causes this problem. The temp change is quite noticeable once you realize and pay attention to it. It drags and rushes while trying to stay where you want it. But I really just don’t even attempt to use it anymore because of this. It would otherwise be amazing and I’ll change the rating when it gets fixed.

i'm a member of my schools marching band & i play bass 4 in battery and we just got our warm ups . i remembered i ran out of space on my phone so i deleted a bunch of apps along with my metronome & i downloaded this and i've actually had it before that's probably why i deleted this but it sucked so bad . don't waste your time on this . i think it just has to do with it's not the pro (the one that costs money) . try to get money and download the pro on any metronome app because it'll work way better . on this app and other basic metronome apps it only gave me quarter notes i needed like 16's and triplets & every beat of a measure like ( 1 e and a 2 e and a 3 e and a 4 e and a ) but it only gave me quarter notes along wth the other apps . but i looked at the pictures for ones with money and i bought a good one for 2.99 . it gives me all of that good stuff not just quarter notes . just type in MetroTimer & buy it . i promise it'll be worth it .
Great For All Around Drummers (But only the Pro Version)
by Sam_5267 on 2017/01/07 03:11
This app is amazing for all around Drummers such as myself who play multiple percussion instruments such as snare and Drum Kit. When I first downloaded it (which was about 3 years ago) the base app came with a lot of features but then eventually those features got put onto the Pro Version (which may I mention that it's super cheap). Anyways at the time I got the Pro Version it was only $0.99 and now it is $2.99 but I'm telling you if you're a drummer like me please do yourself a favor and get this app I promise you won't regret it and also make sure you get the Pro Version! (Also btw I'm not a person hired to make good reviews I am a ligament user of this app)
Great!
by PenguinzzzzZZzzz on 2019/01/17 01:33
As a music major in college, this metronome has everything that I could possibly need. My only suggestion would be that on the iPhone X and later models, one cannot pull down the control center on the upper right part of the screen without pressing the yellow screen orientation button within the app. So when I try to adjust my phone's volume (without the use of the side buttons), I always hit the screen orientation button unless I exit the app first then reenter, or mash the physical volume up key on my phone. It's a very small gripe as I could try to train myself to adjust the volume before entering the app, but a suggestion to move that button elsewhere nontheless.
I don’t 5 Star often.
by JenNjuice on 2018/05/02 16:30
This app deserves it because it’s everything a metronome should be! And then some. I love how easy it is to pick your tempo and go. Getting used to the settings is the only thing I found a little confusing, but I persisted and think I got it. I love that it has an Automator practice mode where you can set in a starting tempo and an ending tempo and set a count of bars to repeat and speed up each go around; this makes memorizing music fun for me and being able to get the hard parts of black pages to effortlessly flow from my fingers without having to stop to reset the metronome is wonderful, I can keep up my momentum. Absolutely worth the working price!
Best Mobile Alternative to Dr. Beat
by tubamindfreak on 2015/11/17 14:09
I love the different ways to keep time (visually, aurally). The programmable aspect is great too; you can get through an entire piece without having to stop and adjust the tempo with this feature. The ways you can change the tempo using the dial, typing in a number, or by tapping is excellent. The practice mode is great because it allows you to set the tempo for a certain amount of time at a percentage of the goal speed. It allows my students to structure their slow practice and to actually understand how long they've been practicing a passage at that tempo. Great app. Could write more but it would look ridiculous.
Good but there’s a big bug
by Anonymous_Badger on 2018/02/12 07:29
It does almost everything you want it to but there’s a major bug. The time signature doesn’t work. Changing the note doesn’t actually change. Playing in 4/4 will give you 4 quarter notes as to be expected. However playing in 8/8 changes nothing except visually. It will just give you 8 quarter notes. Essentially doubling the time before you see and hear the measure start over again rather. It should take the same amount of time for the measure to repeat but it should be played in 8th notes. This becomes troublesome when you want to play in odd time signatures like 7/8. You don’t see or hear 7 8th notes being played. You will instead just get 7 quarter notes.
Really a great app
by ddelarosa03 on 2019/08/21 21:38
I am my high school marching band’s head drum major, so it’s critical that I have a strong internal pulse. I love using this app (i bought the full version) because of the rhythm training feature, which helps me immensely as a drum major, and I also love that I can program it so it lines up with the music of our marching show. It’s also just a nice app to have during symphonic season when I’m working on etudes. I think all of the subdivision features are super useful and it was definitely worth paying for. Only problem I’m suddenly having is the layout of the app at the moment. It’s glitchy and the buttons are out of place.
Absolutely Amazing
by Hitthejuanpark on 2017/07/26 03:08
I've just downloaded this amazing app... and it's amazing. I think I said that too many times now. But seriously, it has all the features that a metronome should have. You can change the accents of the beats to match the piece that you are playing the metronome to, you can change the time signature freely... and the best part about this app is that none of it is blocked off for users to purchase if they wanted to use that feature. This app really helped me focus on practicing on my flute, and I would highly recommend it to everyone else as well.

Highly recommend!!
Best metronome App
by dil_bee on 2019/11/25 05:51
Super awesome metronome. Could handle basic rhythm to some crazy polyrhythmic stuff. And I haven’t even went full pro mode. Though I’m about to do it. It’s got a lot of cool features. You can read about them below. I LOVE how you can accent each beat, with multiple intensities, to help you feel whatever you are working on. If there was something I would like to see: A bigger brighter visual metronome. Like full screen. I use visual metronomes more than the auditory ones. So a massive bright pulse would be awesome. It would be neat to have a drop down with all of the classical tempo markings. Like you click allegro and it takes you to 120. I use this a ton for solfege. And I’m not a classically minded musician. So I find myself having to look up tempos quite a bit. Especially the less common ones. But these are not complaints. This metronome is far better than the others. I apologize if any of these features are in the pro version. I’ll be upgrading within the hour.
FOR FREE.
Best metronome app
by Everry other name is taken! on 2016/10/23 23:38
I've tried a bunch and this really is the best metronome app. I was a little turned off at first by the interface since I thought it looked a little dated in terms of having a "hi-tech" look, but I got over it quickly once I learned the functionality. My favorite part is the wide selection of tones - including an actual human sounding "1-2-3-4". Having the large wheel in the center makes it easy to quickly change the tempo without your hand leaving the instrument for too long. Lastly, I love that you can adjust the accents. Seriously, just get this app and you're good to go.
This is a tried and true metronome
by Curiouschris76 on 2020/04/25 13:41
Preface: have been using this app for over 4 years and have paid for the pro version. I can’t tell you how useful this tool is. It has been a great app for practicing and even learning rhythms. I HIGHLY recommend this metronome. Even though I have the pro version, even the free version is a solid app. One of my favorite features is the ability to make the rhythms whatever you want it to be. This has been supper useful when having to learn difficult rhythms. If the pro version is still around $5, then I would suggest you go for it.
Amazing
by which nickname will work? on 2020/08/10 23:24
This app is great, and it has a lot of features, such as you being able to change the tempo, the bpm, and the 4/4 setting is not static as it usually is in other metronomes.
This app has balanced me.
by Matthew_Wolf on 2017/07/18 11:36
Whether you are a musician or not, there is something that I think everybody can get from this metronome. It's simplicity and design has allowed me to be more relaxed and become more balanced with my body. Whether practicing instruments, writing new material, dancing, or meditating, this is my go to. I start with this app and choose a pulse. It has trained me to be more mindful of empty space. I used to think a click was not important in the past. Man, was I wrong! The key features I love right now (although I'm sure I would love more as I explore further): Rhythm trainer Simple Utilitarian design Plenty of click tones The pendulum mode And plenty more but I want to get back to practicing! Only feature I really want right now is Ableton Link. Developers, please just think about it. To everyone else, the paid version is totally worth it for just a few bucks. Buy it after you've tried it out you'll see!
Works great for me and for my entire school at Alexandrova School of Music!

I highly recommend this app! Free, reliable, attractive, very accessible and always there for me :) sometimes kids just dislike using metronomes and make them disappear- not with this one! Everyone has a phone or iPad and that makes it always handy. I use it for my own personal practice and also for my teachings. I recommend it to all my clients. Love it! I readily wrote a review but this app is just amazing and had to be done! Thank you to the developers <3
Just what I was looking for
by kibftc on 2019/07/06 04:14
The visuals help me with timing by precisely indicating when the note ought be struck with the moving bar and it’s “pong like” quickness when reversing direction. I can match duration with the lighting up of the block indicating the beat divisions. When I match it correctly it feels like the note is lighting the block and I know I am in time. Also, I like the portrait/landscape feature because I can set my phone up horizontally with my capo for a stand. The pro one has a programmable “schedule” that can help you go through a system of sorts with different practices and a rhythm trainer and other features. Only negative I see is that I can’t use it with tonebridge or my amp app. It would be better if I could plug it in while using my iRig with an amp on my phone. It would be even better if there was an indicator of my accuracy, maybe a complementary colored, thin vertical line that flashed slightly longer past the click or something.

I’ve had this app for years but recently my phone got water damage and upon restoring my phone, this app hadn’t downloaded because “it was no longer available”. After searching for weeks trying to find a met with similar qualities I almost cried because there’s just nothing like this one. I happened to just check this app again and it was downloaded! Maybe it was a fluke because I was on a road trip but I will never be more thankful for this app! Next best thing to Dr. Beat
One of the best Mets I’ve ever used
by Erb-Mill98 on 2018/11/24 00:15
I started using this app back when I was in marching band and have since kept using since becoming a drum tech. The polyrhythmic feature comes in handy a lot when explaining triplet vs 8th note sections. The warm up feature allows for smooth tempo transitions running exercises back to back at different BPM’s. My only complaint is that I have more fun trying to see how absurdly fast absurdly slow I can set the temps then practicing some days. Needs an update for Apple Watch Compatibility.
Good app; confusing in-app purchases
by laconic2 on 2016/04/20 01:14
Most paid apps work in all your devices once you have paid for them. So I bought the pro version on my iPad, figuring I could test it there, then use it on my iPhone. The icon showed up on the phone, but when I first launched it and tried to use the Pro feature, it asked me to buy it again! The solution was to go to the App Store on the phone, and find the "purchased" list; clicking Open gave me the Pro version without another purchase.
Tighter Playing
by Ducrashelier on 2015/12/27 22:17
The choice of non annoying sounds and the large display of quarter note beats etc. are my favorite things. Having an accented light on the first and other selectable beats helps as I gradually decrease the volume in order to rely less upon audio cues. I often drop beats and begin playing out of sync so having the full screen feature helps with a visual cue. The large display, ample volume, aesthetic sounds and pendulum feature are what make this my favorite metronome.
Nice, but frustrating......
by Sesame2222 on 2018/08/14 19:07
I started out with a weird metronome app that glitches a lot. Then my mom bought this app that worked much better. Next, I bought my third metronome. It was a lot better than the others, but a few months later it stopped working. I trashed it and returned to my second metronome. It is way better than I thought it would turn out because there was this awesome update. But it is too quiet. I couldn’t hear the beat while playing the violin. But otherwise, it is the best metronome app I’ve ever seen! :)
Dude, This Is Good Stuff Right Here

Honestly, if you’re a musician look to expand your knowledge of timing and rhythm this is perfect. I’m currently forming an understanding of polyrhythms with drumming and piano. The polyrhythm feature allows you to hear, and see, both rhythms simultaneously played, making the learning process intuitive and simple. However, if you don’t have some understanding of basic theory and time signatures it can be, at first, a little confusing. Other than that, I highly recommend this app for anyone, regardless of their level of knowledge.
Scam
by AgostoMortal on 2016/07/07 05:25
App is good, be aware that if you paid for the pro version, which is great, it will NOT let you download the pro version on your ipad (or viceversa) without paying again! This is ridiculous and outrageous. I spend 40 minutes with customer support via chat with apple and they said something even more ridiculous: "in-apps are one time purchases, you use it while you playing the game" I AM not kidding! I explained several times this is a MUSIC APP. "In apps have expiration" I asked for my money back since I was mis leaded and deceived. Nowhere when I bought the pro version was I warned about "expiration" Ridiculous, will not Buy again from this developer and will be very carefull with the apple store in the future.
Bladder and Pelvic Floor PT
by Gotgipped on 2017/06/28 20:28
Yes, hmmm. An unusual but appropriate application of this metronome to pelvic floor exercises in physical therapy. Also allows different time sessions in the exercise to be done with effective time management. For example, in a Kegel exercise with 5 sessions, fast at beginning and end, slow in the middle, using a tempo of 30 at 2 whole beats per bar(b), and "one, two" voice control, Session1 (S1):100%, 15b=1:00min. S2:30%,16b=3:30min. S3&S4 like S2. S5 like S1. Final S6:5%, 1b. Total time is 12:00min, 78b. One is more inclined to finish a full exercise than not. Better Health to all.
Must-Have for Musicians
by Jämīę on 2015/11/10 02:50
I got this app initially to help with my practicing. Soon after, I got the pro version because I was so satisfied with the free version. The pro version is great because it allows you to set tempo markings to change after a certain amount of measures. The pro version also has a feature to help you keep the beat on your own by muting the metronome for a couple measures at a time. I cannot say enough good things about this app. Totally worth the money.
Best metronome out there!
by funk_drum on 2016/06/19 13:48
I love this app. Has all the features of a great metronome, like audio and visual notifications, many different tones, subdivisions, ect. It also has a training mode where you start slowly and speed up. You control all those settings. Can also crest play lists with all the tempos for you set in one play list. Metronome will play them one after the other, or they will all be listed for you to start and stop. Buy this!
It was ok
by Red Haired Nerd on 2020/01/07 01:26
I’ve been playing percussion for two years now, and I’ve mostly been using a different metronome provided by my band director. However, when I tried this app for practice, it wasn’t what I expected. I can only play in quarter notes and be in 4/4 without buying a pro version or whatever. It was very annoying for me to find this out, as I have to practice multiple songs in 2/4 or 3/4 and I can’t do that easily. But just in the instance of keeping time, it was great, especially for my private instructor. I would recommend, but only to very few people.
A must for practice!
by Punky Bruiser on 2018/09/03 18:40
This app is really useful for practicing any musical instrument. I do guitar and I use this app heavily in all my practice sessions. The ability to record different rhythms really helps in recording your progress towards target bpm rates. In practice mode you can progressively build up bpm playback, which is fantastic for warming up. The only additional feature I would add is countdown bars to help you set up your instrument after you start the practice mode
Good app
by LAJones on 2017/08/18 18:29
I have been using the Steinway metronome app for many years mostly because it started almost immediately when I pressed play. But it has not kept up with iOS. I really like Pro Metronome because not only does it start on time when I press play but it has loads of features. My only small complaint is I want a mute button as I get very tired of the warning that I need to turn up my volume to hear it. I often use this during recording sessions and don't want to hear it.
Awesome App, but a suggestion
by SAN63682659 on 2015/08/15 14:18
This is an amazing app. I use it for drumming and the functionality is great. I love the subdivisions, polyrhythms, and most of all the ability to set tempo and time signature presets. The practice mode and automator are really great tools as well. However, there is a feature that would set this app over the top. Most of my songs that I am playing have a time signature change in the middle of song. A great feature would be to create sections within a song to accommodate tempo and time signature changes.
Great Metronome Application
by Applenuts22 on 2017/03/07 20:47
I get heavy use out of this metronome application and have been doing so for more than three years. It is easy to use and very effective with its efficiency to set up and customize. I have the pro version but used the free version for quite some time. I use this live for gigs both in the visual capacity to set me up for the right tempo as well as running it from my iPad or my iPhone into my mixer. I highly recommend this for any musician.
Delivers on promise
by YumaCamagueyano on 2016/07/08 12:12
Does exactly what a metronome should do. No fuss, intuitive interface and bug free - at least the way that I use it. Incidentally, I use it to maintain my cadence when exercising. So I may not be a typical user. In that application, it works great. I like the simplicity of the dial for setting the bpm and that it remembers its previous setting. The volume is loud enough that I can hear it even when the phone is clipped to my belt and I'm running outside. Very handy.

What a impenetrable interface. Audio is off and no way to turn it back on. Beat block is on and no way to turn it off.

Best metronome app
by BLAllen0 on 2021/01/11 03:05
I used a digital metronome but had to replace it suddenly.

Song Arraignment

Music teacher likes
by Blinkk5 on 2017/11/10 00:09
I teach guitar/voice to kids in an after school Academy.
Good app
by TOBriant on 2016/01/06 20:17
This is a good app that they have improved over time.

Best metronome ever

I’ve been trying to learn bass for the last few months and only recently discovered what a metronome is used for... this app is absolutely perfect for learning rhythm and timing. I love how it’s not just one digital sounding click noise when you can actually change it to sound like real drums and arrange how you want it to play. One unique feature that I love is that it stays playing in the background on your phone no matter what. Meaning I can simultaneously record myself playing while the beat is still going. This app is more than just a metronome it’s a portable drum machine.
Works great for me and for my entire school at Alexandrova School of Music!
by MsRositsa on 2018/06/06 19:17
I highly recommend this app!
None other

Dude, This Is Good Stuff Right Here
by whale900 on 2017/11/16 16:38
Honestly, if you’re a musician look to expand your knowledge of timing and rhythm this is perfect.
Very handy.
