London Travel Guide by Triposo
Description
Features of the London Travel Guide: • This free app has a detailed sights section with all the monuments of London. • Eating out section with London's best restaurants. • Discover the nightlife of London! Bars, pubs & clubs. • Book hotels in London directly from the app. • Travel guides for day trip destinations close to London. • An offline map of London. • The travel guide has a complete background information on London. • App works offline. • Free app - no hidden costs. About our guide We make great, interactive travel guides. To make our guides we use the content that is freely available. Open content sites like Wikitravel, Wikipedia, World66 and Openstreetmap are among the best resources for any traveler. Our mission is to make that content relevant for you. So we mix and mash and annotate - and we distill great, relevant travel guides out of it. We like open content. In fact some of us were involved in World66, one of the first open content travel guides on the web. Our travel guides are very much a re-mix of open content out there. Currently we're using content from: Wikipedia, Wikitravel, World66, Open Streetmaps, DMOZ and Chefmoz We're big fans of these projects. If you stumble across some inaccurate information in this guide, we would appreciate it if you correct it on the web site of these projects.

Doesn't show Tube stops
by Crazybablu on 2014/08/19 05:27
It's bizarre how an otherwise really useful app doesn't display the most crucial information about the most used public transport service in London: where the Tube stops are. There's many things to like about this app: offline maps that show attractions, restaurants, banks and money changers, an ability to bookmark places of interest, and useful information like the opening and closing times and admission fees for an attraction or Yelp reviews for a restaurant. It even tells you the nearest Tube stop or bus number for a place of interest. It just won't show you the location of the Tube stop so you can actually get from the Tube stop to the place of interest. Bizarre.
Asked me to review after only a few minutes
by Earthsurfer on 2014/08/17 09:11
The London App requested a review after only a few minutes of use. Therefore. I can only give it a single star. I used the Paris version of this app, and found it useful. The map function was excellent for finding attractions near my current location, even when I did not have data service. This app does monitor you location, and it will send you notifications for promoted attractions in the area. There were some notable sites and major museums missing from the Paris version.
Not worth using
by HDS356 on 2014/07/16 05:36
A while ago I started using Triposo apps for travel. Sometime in the recent past they stopped showing you what places are NEAR YOUR LOCATION and they started listing only places near a fictional point that they pick. This is WORTHLESS. I'm not going to take a 100 GBP taxi ride to go to the restaurant they suggest, when I'm looking for one near where I am standing. This entire series of apps has become worthless for real-world travelers looking to find places near where they happen to be.

Easy to use, well designed layout, and the most exhaustive set of interesting spots that I've ever seen listed in any app! Great for offline planning.

The overall app is appealing with very useful travel planning information. The graphics and typography are pleasing. The app's content interests me. I would highly recommend this app to a friend or colleague.
“New” Favorite Travel Guide!
by LITL DVL on 2011/09/11 05:30
I love to travel and have added all 29 FREE travel guides by Triposo to my collection of travel apps on my iOS device. Each Triposo Guide is very well-done and packed with useful information and pictures. None of the guides have crashed on me. Triposo Guides will definitely give these guides, which are also apps a run for their money: “Nepal World Travel”; Frommer’s Guides; Keen Guides; and Lonely Planet Travel Guides. The smallest-size Triposo Guide is Chicago Travel Guide at 13.6 MB; the largest is Moscow Travel Guide at 115.9 MB.
And Another Slight Oversight - Where is the England Guide?
by GigaPan on 2011/09/10 17:55
There is a Germany app, a France app, an Italy app, but no England app, only a London app ... Is there a pickpocket running lose at Tripso?
Disappointing
by eek9 on 2011/09/09 13:33
The app looks great, but crashes every time I use the map. 2 or 3 scrolls or zooms, and I'm back at the home screen. Too bad, because it looks like it would be a really useful map, and an app I'd like to use. And sadly, there's no way on the Triposo website to contact the developers, report bugs, or request support.
Great for London Visitors

This is a wonderful app for anyone who plans to visit London even if they have been there many times before. Even if you just have an interest in London and are not a traveler this app is a marvelous quick reference guide. I cannot believe how many sights are covered from the very obscure to the extremely well known. However, besides the sights this app includes a great deal of other valuable information in various other areas that will be helpful to a traveler.
