Double charged

I recently booked flights through Expedia for $2000. I was charged twice so I reached out to their customer service through the app. I provided the credit card statements showing the double charge and not only did the representative refuse to refund me for the double charge they refused to give me a supervisor. I will never buy tickets again through Expedia and still am fighting for the refund for the double charge.

I like this app and use it a lot, but the prices it displays for hotels are totally fake. For example a hotel that the app displays as being $66/night is actually $227/night when you try to reserve it, which is ridiculous. What’s the purpose of allowing the user to filter on price if it completely ignores the total price of the rental? Other reservation apps show you the actual price, not some irrelevant price before mandatory “fees” that the property adds on.

It’s very easy to buy airline tickets, hotels and car rentals, but when something goes wrong prepare yourself for a nightmare, extremely long time to ge ahold of some customer support or maybe never get one. Last time I bought an airplane ticket, but when I got to the airport they never had my reservation even thought a had a reservation code given by Expedia. Try to reach Expedia and couldn’t never got to get in contact with customer support. Fortunately my money was given back two days after the incident and not by Expedia. From now on I’m buying my plane tickets directly from the airline, at least I know I’m not losing my trip and can get customer support on an office or by phone. Goodbye Expedia

They downgraded my seats, the emailed saying that I have a credit if $171 and my fiancé a credit if $89. Now we can’t use it. It’s ridiculous the amount of time that I’ve wasted with you all. I can’t talk to a supervisor, nobody can give me an answer. This is insane. I DO NO RECOMMEND EXPEDIA AT ALL.

There is no manager who is decent to call back, I cannot get a refund and all they kept saying is “i am sorry.” Which doesn’t help me get my money back, there is a pander and these people want this opportunity to take your money. No refund policy. Here is an email from a supervisor, how stupid it is that I cannot call him or cannot get back to him by email because he uses a unmonitored email: “I tried calling you three times on +1 but unfortunately, I was unable to reach you. If you still require assistance, please reach out to us via email or chat. This is an unmonitored email, so please do not reply. Sincerely, Abhishek S. Delasingh81 Expedia Customer Support Team”

The Hampton Inn near the convention center was perfect! Clean rooms, close parking garage, and right in the heart of the City. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The breakfast was great, and with Covid safety precautions in place, I felt comfortable during our stay. We travel into the city often, and this will be our new go to place to stay!!

Just spent our first trip to Nashville and had an incredible time. The Holstein is a boutique property that has a cool Modern South swanky vibe. Great service from the front desk and nice Lou by atmosphere to get away from all the craziness and electrifying g noise of Broadway. You are going to love it!

They switch the gate 4 times and I run and run all over the airport to only find a sign saying boarding is closed. I called the 800 number and finally they told me to go to the right gate in which all the passengers are tired of running around the airport just like me , trying to find the right gate. I demand my money back for having such a horrible service, on top of that, it’s my birthday

We purchased package protection plan when booked a trip since Expedia promoted it. Then we’re told the flight tickets were not refundable due to the airline’s policy(which was not mentioned when purchased tickets) when we needed to cancel the trip. Promoted a insurance plan that guaranteed your trip was fully refundable while knowing the flight tickets were not refundable - if this is not scam, what else could be?

Yesterday I spent 4-5 hours with six different customer service representatives. Four of them told me to call Frontier airlines to deal with the problem and the other two said Expedia was doing a software update in the middle of the day on a Saturday and as of Sunday morning I still have not been able to complete the booking. I finally asked the last person to honor the pricing I had later due to Expedia’s problem and I was told they would not. I have yet to have a good experience using Expedia and will continue to use Apple Vacations moving forward.

Service was very slow. We stood around and waited for a driver for about 45 minutes. Outside of the airport, the associate had the Expedia Sign hidden behind his clipboard and didn’t even try to hold up for easy visibility, just a lot of confusion for travelers. I would not use this company again.

The carpet very dusty, has not been vacuumed forever. The safe full of trash left by previous guests. No free wifi. And the grand finale - they refused to give a receipt - the reason is that hotel was booked via Expedia. After much arguing the printout was provided without hotel name or logo (?!). Overall - total disapointment.

If you think that’ll protect you. You’re very wrong about it. I just made that mistake and lost 3 hours of my time trying to cancel a flight and lots of money. They’re just a regular website to book like any other. But their insurance service is a scam and won’t give you peace of mind but headaches.

I had booked a flight and was feeling a bit sick and wanted to test for covid before going on the flight, so I called costumer service to let to know and to change my flight date so I can be sure I am healthy before boarding the plane. After 20-30 min of being on the phone with them they said they will change my flight and all I have to do is pay the difference which I was more then happy to pay until I heard the amount they want to charge me for changing the flight... They wanted to charge me more then a new flight would cost me just for the changing it! This is outrageous I can’t wrap my mind around the idea of them trying to charge me 240$ for changing my flight while they have the flight available for purchase for 170$.. I was shocked and felt like I am being scammed I will never use Expedia again! And all this happened as I am Gold member which spends a lot of money through this app.

The rooms and property are set on a nice bay. The storm and wind only made the property more romantic. The food is just ok. Overpriced in my opinion, and I’m willing to pay for a nice meal. Overall, very clean and comfortable place with friendly staff.

I booked a flight two months in advance. 15 days before flight I casually try to see the flight details. Couldn’t see my flight so contacted the customer service and they said: Maybe details are not up yet. Then 2 min later they said oh that flight is canceled. I NEVER received any information regarding it. Talked with airline they said you didn’t buy ticket from us. So who is responsible to send me info. Expedia you are. I bought it from you. I added insurance, i did everything right. I asked to put me on any other flight you say you can’t. Offered me refund for the purchase (which i will) but now tickets are 3 times the amount i got it? I will eventually miss this trip. I had to see my family after 2 years. You made me miss it. I will never ever get anything from you EVER in my life. Zero accountability when you sell a ticket that’s not job end. Your job ends till the flight has taken off!

I had to reschedule the inbound flight of a round trip for my wife and the infant. So the Expedia agent cancelled them from the reservation and using the travel credits issued by Etihad Airlines, rescheduled their flight for a later date. While rescheduling, the agent messed up the infant’s last name. I have easily spent over 20hours over a period of 8days with more than 10 agents + supervisors from Expedia customer support to get this fixed but none of them were able to resolve the issue. They try to get away saying the passenger should call the airline directly to get this resolved. I am in this mess because of the Expedia agent in the first place, and they insist me to deal with it. On contacting the airline myself, they say it’s Expedia who needs to fix this as they are the ones who issued the ticket. Despite spending so much money, it’s ridiculous that Expedia doesn’t want to help with the issue they created. Never going to book anything with Expedia again.

Expedia has profile information for passenger(s), but it does not include the TSA number on the boarding pass. Why not, I ask, defeats the purpose of providing that information in my profile. Also, my seat preference is not considered either. Please do an analysis for improvement to this app and the profile data being executed on the boarding pass and seating.

Due to last minute restrictions from Egyptair which had full vaccination for US citizens or PCR test. In panic over new variant Egyptair made it mandatory that only PCR negative results would be peritoneal fly. My 3 vaccine cards were useless. I had trip insurance. I had arrived at airport. 3 hours early and marked me as a no show. So Expedia would not refund my $. Will never book with Expedia again. Worst customer service ever.

Trying to use credits is devastatingly frustrating. The website is of poor quality and does not allow one to easily apply a credit to a new purchase. You are directed to call customer services. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is . The wait times for getting assistance is enormous leading to more frustration . Do not use this website for any purchases. You will absolutely regret it . Save yourself the stress and frustration. Use a competitors website. Most are better . TB

Never had a worse experience in online reservation! I have booked a rental car with full insurance from them for my trip to Mexico for thanksgiving When I went there the car rental told me that the insurance is not valid Expedia refused to solve the issue, while they already got the money and I had to pay three times the price to get a car from another company since it was high season Even after coming back to the USA they refused to refund the money that they got from me for the insurance and told me that I should contact insurance company and ask them to get my money back In general I totally felt that I have been scammed and no matter what I will never use their service anymore

My Husband checked in the Spruce Lane Lodge on November 29, 2021. The room was clean and looked comfortable as he has stayed here before. However when he went to shower there wasn’t any hot water not even lukewarm but cold water. This was very disappointing after a hard days work in the area. We called later after checking out to inform the owners of the issue to be inform they had 24 hour call and that we should have called that evening unaware there was a 24 hour call line and then told us they would get their team on the issue. Not one word like we are sorry for this issue or inconvenience this may have caused or maybe if he was to revisit the area a night on them to keep their customers satisfied but that is okay. I will not be making reservations at Spruce Lane Lodge again.

I reserved a Room at the Ramada here in Phoenix because our electricity had gone out due to the rain. I showed up to the Hotel to find the Air Condition was not working. I was told to call Expedita Customer Service and they never answered my calls or email and I lost out $109. The Hotel on online never bother to state the A/C was not working before I booked the room.

They took my money and never got the 3 international flight tickets for us. The tickets were forever pending as the rep Ahmet did not put in the passport numbers. The Deysi could not fix the issue, refused to help or connect us to the supervisor and was very unhelpful and disrespectful. There is no number to call, you have to book through the Virtual Chat with their unprofessional employees. No one is accountable for their mistakes. Now we got no tickets, no money and expired bookings. Never again will I deal with this company.

Over the past few years Ive used Expedia for secondary, usually personal, travel arrangements. They represent virtually every mode of transport & lodging. Customer service, itineraries, etc all first rate. The phone ap is easy (says me, a boomer with not much ap patience.) And you go on line on a desktop and get a seamless experience. Though you often don't get the points from Marriott or other travel companies through these third party bookings, they have their own program that's both generous and easy to use. I'm retired to self employment and i'm starting to use Expedia for all my travel except for SWA, of course and others that don't participate in third party bookings. Only gripe has been a couple of non -refundable hotel stays that were in sketchy areas that i elected not to use. One of those refunded after a complaint, however.

Deleting the app. The car rental canceled a reservation & Expedia didn’t refund it to the card that was paid with. They refunded a card on file that is closed. Filing a dispute now. They didn’t even return my points that was used. Will never use Expedia again and I’ve been a customer for 12 years. Horrible customer service and horrible company.

I have been an Expedia customer since 2014. The more I use them , the more I realize they are rated excellent, especially in handling problems with cancellations or changing flights . They have excellent online service that are willing to help you at the end. Very easy people to talk to . I recommend Expedia in your next travel experience.

Uso Expedia por más de 12 años, (maybe for more then 15), but at least more then 12 si!!. Viajo seguido y uso sus servicios especialmente de hotel. Muy recientemente al momento de pagar escogí cash y me dio la opción de revisar q si pagaba cash sería casi el doble de la cantidad o q pagara con credit card. Así q en esta ocasión, acepte la opción con credit card a casi la mitad de precio. Cuando hice click esa opción mucho más económica, me mandan la habitual confirmación, pero diciéndome una cantidad totalmente diferente. Y también de mi tarjeta de crédito recibí notificación. Casi el doble!!!!!!! Llamo a Expediay me dicen q no pueden hacer nada, que pudo haber sido un error etc etc etc puras evasivas y echándome la culpa q quizá yo me espere para hacer booking y q el precio cambio..(cosa q no hice) y q ellos es lo q cobran la noche. Total, me salió más caro q si hubiera ido directo al hotel sin Expedia. Para colmo! No es la primera vez q con ellos me sucede algo así. Pero no había tenido la oportunidad de reclamar. Una compañía q roba a sus clientes de esta forma fraudulenta, no merece ni un penny. Or what do you think? Lección q aprendí : Usar Expedia solo como referencia, pero no hacer reservaciones con ellos y remover mi tarjetas de crédito .

I have used Expedia for many years, but last year I had to cancel a couple flights due to COVID related changes in location. I purchased insurance and was told that I didn’t have enough proof to get a refund. Okay fine. I was given 4 credits for each leg of the flight. They expire next winter. I tried to use the credits to book a flight this coming December. The airlines said I was no show on the flights even though it showed I had canceled my flights, via the Expedia app, in advance of all the flights. I was told to call Expedia back. I proceeded to spend the next two days on hold, explaining my situation to new operators, being promised a call back from a supervisor, etc. Over a week later, no call from a supervisor and my credit that I was trying to redeem has disappeared from my account AFTER I tried to use it. They are liars, cheats, and outsourced to the hilt. Don’t trust anything you do on this app. Book through the airlines and double check your hotel reservations.

Worst company ever. Booked a trip and they did not tell me the flight changed. The change made it impossible for me to make my connecting flight. They still sent me the same itinerary and never mentioned the issues. I only discovered it when I went to the airport. The trip had to be rebooked and we left the next day. Expedia denied any responsibility and said they would take no blame. They did nothing and said have a great day. Called customer support multiple times and waited on hold for over three hours with a total of five people. Several agents told me I was eligible to a refund due to the nature of the flights being delayed by the airline due to lack of crew until a later date, but said they weren’t able to help me and to call back the next day. The next day I called and had two separate agents drop my call. Ended up never getting a refund and booking a flight through an airline directly.

The Holiday Inn Express Cedar Hill, Tx was the most unsanitary hotel I have ever visited. There was mold in the bathroom that was sickening and the bed linen was dirty and the room was smelly, like old stale smoke coupled with the smell of animals. The remote control was so crusty, I refused to touch it. Why isn’t anyone doing inspections on these places before making you agree to a non-refundable agreement. Now I’m waiting 5-15 days to get my money due to Expedia and Club Wyndom RCI CLUB. WISH I COULD ATTACH PICTURES!

Expedias refund policies are draconian and predatory. The cancellation process is such that you cant cancel via the App or at least the App cancellation doesnt offer confirmation. This would appear to be beneficial to expedia as they can then claim “no show” via the vendor notifying them that you didnt show, even after hitting the cancel button 20x on the app. And you would say, why dont you just gondirectly to the vendor… well they cant issue you any form of refund w/o recieving notification from expedia. Its a giant corn maze that always dumps you back out at the starting point. This actually the second occurrance of this in the last 3 months… yes im a glutton and a trusting soul. Doom on me. Avoid Expedia…bewarned

Rude to customers. Supervisor hung up on me after 5 hours of wait for the call. Took 20 months+ and still waiting for the refund. I have been +8 year customer and spent around $40K worth, and treated very poorly. Expedia is relucatant to work with the customers and shifts responsibilities or blame to other companies or even the customers themselves.

We had a very poor experience when we missed a flight to Cancun, Mexico. The airline allowed us to keep a portion of our flight however expedias policy would not allow, and Expedia canceled the entire flight. We lost round trip airfare for two people. I recommend always booking direct thru the airline website. Leave Expedia out of it. Same with the hotel we couldn’t stay in as a result of the missed flight. The hotel was okay with us canceling due to a missed flight (the Westin) however Expedia charged our card and would not issue a refund. We talked to an Expedia agent in both instances and were denied help both times due to Expedia policy on changes. I’ll never book their Expedia again.

After booking trips on this app, one night late I booked a room. Instantly I was afraid it was the wrong location. I hit the cancel button o the virtual agent. Only to find there is ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, and in one minute, Expedia had stolen my money. I called Virgin hotel, they were willing to help but needed Expedia to contact. But with no real humans as customer, and only a series of foreign outsourced people who had now power to help, I wasted days trying to correct the booking that could have been fixed with in 5 minutes by a real person. In the end I had booked a room, accidentally cancels it, Expedia left me with no stay, no room, no money. No help and they gladly kept my money for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT PAIN AND SUFFERING. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BOOK DIRECT. THERE ARE NO SAVINGS HERE, only theft.

Expedia accepted My debit card reservation payment for Hertz rental car , then when we got To the airport In Chicago they wouldn’t let Me rent the car, wouldn’t refund me my money either , Expedia told Me Hertz was the reason they wouldn’t refund but I called the manager at Hertz and he said they did refund Expedia and gave me a receipt. I am Never working with Expedia again.

I am a Professional Photographer and I had booked two nights stay because of the Vintage Trailer Show in Buellton. This was my 1st year covering this Event and was told the Saturday was the Day with all the Fun. I booked the two nights knowing that i would have an Awesome Time. A week before the Event I had to cancel my Saturday night Reservation due to another two events that I had to cover Saturday Morning in Anahiem and Saturday Evening in Devore that would finish at 10:30pm so I lnew that i couldn’t stay the 2nd Night. I tried to cancel thru the Hotel and thru Expedia. The Hotel was nasty to me when i told them i needed to check out Saturday Morning and Expedia was no help either. I was charged for both Nights plus an extra two Service charges and i left at 5:15 Saturday Morning just to makenit to my Anaheim Event Saturday Morning after taking over 1800 Photos in Buellton on Friday at the Vintage Teailer Show and another 200 Photos at the Mendalson Museum. I did like the room and the price but too bad i stayed for one night got charged for two night plus Sevice Charges

I booked three hotel rooms and two flights on Expedia for a recent trip. None of the hotels had ever heard of me, although the rooms had been pre-paid. I had to double pay for the rooms, then spend hours on the phone to get them to authorize my pre-payment and get a refund for the hotels. Same with the airlines. They got my reservations right, but although the airlines had my wife’s name and reservation number…and CONFIRMATION numbers from both the airline and Expedia…they did not have authorization from Expedia to issue her boarding pass. On the outbound flight, we flew Alaska. They were able to call Expedia and get her boarding pass, but it took them 45 minutes. Good thing we arrived at the airport early! On the return flight, we flew Delta and tried to preemptively fix the issue the night before our flight. The Expedia lady tried to assure us that everything was good to go for our flight the next morning, but we had just talked to Delta, and they said it was not. Bottom line was that we ended up buying another ticket at a higher price from Delta the next morning, because Delta would NOT honor my wife’s reservation. (Again, mine was ok.) WE HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ISSUED A REFUND FOR THE DELTA TICKET AND WE NEVER WILL BE. Our trip was 5 days and four nights. We spent nearly 7 hours on the phone with Expedia during that time. (No exaggeration.) Do yourself a favor: use Expedia for the information but don’t give them a dime. You will regret it if you do.

I use Expedia pretty often, about once a month on average. I’m in a long-distance marriage because of my military deployment schedule. This month, my wife and I were finally going on our long overdue honeymoon (6 years), but the DoD has put out travel restrictions that would allow that to happen. So I went on the Expedia app to cancel/change my reservation. I managed to cancel my flights, but I didn’t cancel my hotel because there was no refund option or an option to change my reservation. At that point I was okay with just canceling my flight and contacting Expedia to see what I could do about my hotel reservation. But as get off the app and am about to make the call to Expedia, I receive multiple emails regarding my cancellations. To my surprise, the hotel was also cancelled. This was a $3,000 resort in Aruba. I proceed to call customer service, and waited on hold for over an hour, then the call just dropped out of nowhere. Luckily, I went online earlier to schedule Expedia customer service to call me. When they did, I could hardly communicate with the agent because it seemed as if English was not their native language. The agent proceeded to transfer me to another person to help then they hung up on me. I cannot afford another $3,000 for a vacation and now I cannot take my wife on the honeymoon I promised her. This will definitely be the last time I use Expedia or any of its sister companies.
Bug keeps choosing random dates

In the past this app has worked well but recently, I’m going back a couple of updates now over the past couple of months it’s head above where when you are on the road and you start to search for a motel it will randomly choose some date in the future instead of defaulting to the current days date for your check in time. Most people on the road which no doubt account for the largest Group of users need it to default to the current days date for the check-in date, not to some random date in the future. And even if people were looking for a room for the future what are the chances that the random date this app chooses is going to be the one you need, so it’s better to have it default to the current date for check-in and the following day for check out the way it used to. That’s much more convenient for the largest group of users. I’ve even changed the date to the current day and then head to choose a different town because the initial town I searched and didn’t have enough motels, find a room book it and then find out later the app and change the date to a random date in the future causing me then have to spend an hour calling Expedia: 3 service to get it straightened out. Please fix the app where it defaults to the current days date for check-in and the following days date for check out the way it has always done in the past.

I have used Expedia for YEARS. This has always been my go-to service for hotels, flights, and cars. I was supposed to go to Atlanta for work and happily booked my plane tickets through Expedia as I always did. With the COVID crisis and travel restrictions, my trip to Atlanta needed to be canceled. For some reason I wasn’t able to cancel my flight online, and was instructed to call customer service. I did, and received a recording that because my travel was not in the next 72h they could not help me, and to call back when I was within that window. So I waited until Sunday, when I was finally in the 72h window. I was on hold for 3 hours, with no option for a call back, before being disconnected without speaking to anyone. I called back at 10pm Sunday night. I slept on and off, with my phone on speakerphone until I woke up at 5am, still on hold. I didn’t speak to a representative until 8am Monday morning- at that point I had been on hold for 10 HOURS. I explained the situation to the gentleman (named David) and asked that if we got disconnected to please call me back as I had been on hold all night. He confirmed my phone number and happily agreed. 1h and 15 minutes later, with absolutely no resolution, the call was disconnected. No. Call Back. 11h15m wasted. I called Delta, got an immediate response AND they refunded my ticket. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER USE EXPEDIA FOR ANYTHING ELSE AS LONG AS I LIVE DUE TO HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN.

Me and my father bought our tickets $500 dollars and for return it was free next thing you know the cancelled my flight back so I called and they gaved me another flight closer they wanted to charge me for a return flight so I told them why would they charge me for something they cancelled they hanged up on me so I called them again but a different person answered so I told them the whole thing again. So they gaved me a flight a good flight but the thing was they the last flight to my destination was p.m so I was ok with that time. Now when we were at Washington my last flight they changed it at the last second and me and my father were freaking out on why would they do that so we were stuck at Washington tell we figured on what to do. So I called Expedia for a money return but the guy was falling asleep at the job real professional guys, so I was telling him why I wanted that so he told me “ok I’m going to call United for a refund so it’s going to take 7-8 minutes on the wait time so if the phone call hangs up is this number ok to call back” I said yes it is and guess what happened the call hanged up so supposedly he was going to call back but I guess he fell asleep on the job. So I called a taxi but what was the difference if it costed the same as a plane ticket $400 to Roanoke. So if you want to get ripped off and not get your money back then Expedia is the site. Oh yea I’m still waiting on that refund.

I booked 3 flights through this company and spent 2 hours on the phone to do so. Then when I log on to the app it only shows two of the three flights I paid for . At that point I called customer service to see what is going on and they informed me that my information was sent to a different email address that they don’t have access to . Then I asked if they could go and change it to put my information so I don’t have to worry about my information being out there in the crazy cyber world that we are in today. Were people’s information is being stolen left and right . These people had the audacity to tell me that there is nothing ANYONE in their company can do for me so basically I just have to deal with my information being out there in someone’s email address that only God know who has access to and can do whatever they want with my information and I probably will not find out until it’s to late . this was all caused by a glitch in there system, so my real question is what other types of glitches are in there system that is sending there customer information around . How secure can this big company be if this is the case . How can you care for your customer if you have systems that “will not allow you to do so” I would never book another flight though this so called company !! This is just ridiculous!!

I recently booked a trip through Expedia, I travelled from Grand Cayman to Thailand then 3 days before my return found out that Emirate airlines had cancelled the flights to return me to my home. Expedia did nothing to assist with my problems with returning home instead I paid them an additional $3500 usd for new flights to get home and made the request for my money to be refunded for the cancelled flights FYI I had also paid Expedia for flight insurance for my trip. I have now been home for 4 weeks Expedia have now told me I won’t be getting any refund they also refuse to reply to any of my emails their chat support constantly tells you they don’t have any agents available. I have also tried calling several times being put on hold for 2 hours each time and having to hang up as my mobile phone is about to explode because of the heat. I honestly believe that due the circumstances we currently find ourselves in that not too many people are currently booking flights and hotels which means Expedia staff can’t possibly be that busy and are blissfully ignoring their responsibilities to their customers. I tried to make a reservation today for family vacations and when I tried to hit confirm after I put all my info I got a sign that says ERROR, so logically I tried again and I got the same message again. I did not get confirmation from Expedia or booking details of course. Then I see in my bank account 4 pending transactions from Them. I called the bank to tell them this was canceled and did not get any confirmation from Expedia but bank says is all approved on their end and as far as they know nothing is canceled and I’m being charged for that. To make story short, after 1 hour and 30 minutes in the phone with bank and Expedia I’m still being charged even Expedia supervisor says is canceled they are not able to give me a cancelation number or anything that I can show the bank as a proof of canceled transaction. They said may take 3-5 business day to get my money back, that means now I cannot book my vacations cause they are holding my money and I don’t have enough left on my credit card. Customer service is a shame, the money on hold is even more than the total amount of the trip when I asked how is this possible to supervisor couldn’t even tell me why. I will never book anything through Expedia again. They are a shame and taking people’s money even when it says error on the screen. SCAM!!!!!

I have used Expedia for years and always raves about how easy and reliable it is but lately everything about the app, service and customer service live abs virtual is horrible. I feel like it’s all a scam. I have multiple air credits due to Covid and have tried to redeem them. I get confirmations that my flight is booked and thank god I double check everything because all of the sudden my tickets are cancelled and my credits are missing. When I used virtual assist they pull up all these travel itineraries to other countries that I never reserved. When I speak to a live customer service rep they barely understand English. Tell me my credits don’t exist even though they were on my app and I have confirmation emails. Then they tell me to call the airline directly. Keep me on hold for an hour while they say they are reviewing my info. I call the airline directly and they say to contact Expedia because Expedia never sent my payment and credits. In addition they charged my credit cards for the overage cost. Still no credit for that. From now on I will book directly with the airline. Have had perfect service from them and my credits exist and easy to use. Expedia seems like crooks at this point. If it was just one time I would think it was a mistake but this happened 3 times.

I have been traveling all day after reaching the hotel they told me there is no booking under my name! I contacted Expedia to solve my issue, unfortunately, they did the opposite by not giving me any solutions and telling me there was overbooking and the hotel cannot accept you, it is not the customer problem that your system is bad to show availability and there isn't ! I am expecting to reach the hotel and find my room ready not solving your problems. Not only I spoke with one agent But 4 agents all of them were uncooperative, rude, and they just put me on hold, then they hang up! I spent 2 and half hours on the phone which was an overseas call which coasted me a lot of money without any solution or at least offering anything for your mistake. I have been an Expedia customer for 5+ years with gold, silver, and blue membership but after what I have experienced this week this will be my last time using this platform, I am still waiting for my hotel refund which they told me I will collect within 2 days and now we reached the 6th day without any refund. Learn how to treat your customers not telling them there is nothing we can do to you! You have a problem with your system you solve it don't expect your customers to do it for you! Worst traveling experience ever and surely worst customer service!

This is the only forum I see to speak about an experience with Expedia. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, buyer beware. Purchase direct from the airline. Plenty of 5-star plant-reviews here as well I suspect. Expedia changed my flight, no reason, said the airline did it. They gave me no updates and could not give me a firm date when they say they notified me. Customer service is in India or Pakistan and you’ll be on hold for 1.5-2 hours. At one point she has gall to tell me I was notified at 1:20AM. It is 2-something in the morning and I’ve been on hold since 12AM. I check my email, it’s a confirmation of my trip with the new times as if I JUST purchased it. No old times and confirming a change. Had I not looked up my flight, assuming I had 20 hours left until check in, I would have missed my flight. Instead, I’m up all night trying to remedy this with no solution, scrambling to find work coverage and finish packing. So they say it was the airlines fault, airline says it’s Expedia. Not the first time. I’m done booking through agencies like this. You really don’t save anything price wise through these services Find the ticket you want and book through the airline. If you want the worst room a hotel won’t give to normal customers, use Expedia or a middleman ap. Better to cut them out of the picture.

There are a lot of 1 star reviews for this app. I know 1 star is harsh but Expedia really makes traveling even MORE difficult than it already is. If you’re looking at hotels on this website, you’ll see there are a list of places the hotel is close to. For example, 4 minutes from airport, or 5 minutes from beach. In the 3 hotels I’ve booked through Expedia all of what they say the hotel is close to and how far away these places they’ve listed are is completely inaccurate. My second complaint is not about the website but about the agents I speak to over the phone. As a 3rd party booker they should be making things very clear but instead they leave out really important information BEFORE PAYING (example, what I’m paying for is NON REFUNDABLE) that they claim they DON’T have to tell me before I pay because “I should know” but if I was an expert at booking trips and I knew all these things off the top of my head that they claim I should know, I wouldn’t go through Expedia in the first place and would book straight through the airline or hotel. This is definitely the last time I’m using Expedia. I’m so upset I have 2 upcoming reservations I booked through Expedia. I’m hoping the hotel is what it seems like online but I am not counting on that. Like another review says, BYE EXPEDIA!
Expedia tried to pocket the difference and blamed the airline

We had a trip planned and needed to change flights during this COVID-19 mess. I attempted to change the flights on the app...no luck even though the app showed a significant amount of savings. I waited on the phone for hours into the wee hours of the morning only to have the system hang up on me. After another 4 hours of holding I finally got an agent, they changed the flight and acknowledged the price difference, but said that the airline was charging change and exchange fees and while there was no additional cost , there was no surplus because that surplus covered all the fees. There was a $1,300 difference! So I told the agent on the phone that I would contact the airline because all fees were supposed to be waived. The Expedia agent forbid me to call the airline and assured me that the airline was charging the fees. Well.... I called the airline anyway. They were completely and totally shocked that Expedia would say that fees were being charged. It angered the airline so much that they gave me vouchers for the difference in flights and the airline agent took the time to rebook the flights to pull my itinerary from Expedia’s control. The airline was livid. I learned a valuable lesson.....always book direct with the airline and never use Expedia. Necer again Expedia, never again.
Easy To Screw Up Reservations

Update: They never update this App in the way they need to. Please read below. Honestly it’s frustrating how they organize it. At this point, I’m going start using Booking. I only use the App for hotels. Their changes to “Trips” is too confusing now. It used to show hotels and flights reserved in chronological order. Now they’ve put so many other things in it, it useless and confusing. I keep going to the wrong hotels. The way the App works makes it easy to screw up a reservation. I meant to book a flight for my wife and because the App is so speedy my name went on the ticket. I couldn't change the ticket name once the error was found. At least a website is step-by-step eliminating errors. Then there is the issue of queen and double beds with hotel rooms. There have been so many instances where the hotels say I reserved a double bed room. :( Booking airline flights is a headache now. First of all not all airlines are listed on Expedia, resulting on it being better to go onto other travel websites. Then the website recommends using unpractical flights. For instance a short 1 hour flight can turn into a 10+ hours flight just to get cheaper airfare. At this point I've taken to using other websites for travel

Expedia is possibly the worse to book a flight with. We paid two tickets including seating AND checked bags. I call customer service since on my email confirmation I was not showing any details about my seating as well as my checked bags. I called the first rep told me that I had not paid for them that I had to pay for them through the airline. I then requested to speak with a supervisor and I was advised I would get a call back in 15 min. I then wait one hour and call back and then finally get transferred to a supervisor who kept placing me on very long holds which resulted one hour on the phone. Finally the supervisor then tells me that they have no record of me paying for the checked bags AND that they don’t offer to purchase checked bags or choose seats on their app. I told him that they do because I myself purchased the seats as well as the checked bags through them and my total balance was sky rocket high !! The supervisor does NOTHING to try and help me with this issue. I have seen on previous reviews where they have also been over charged as well. I guess it was also my fault for not checking the reviews. But to end this review DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA!!! They change the price way higher and then claim that they aren’t showing nothing in their system.

Expedia and the hillside inn. I called and asked for a refund because our car broke down and we were never able to make it. The trip was for my 8 year old whom had a birthday that day and it was ruined. I’ve called and asked politely if I could receive a refund or my money back for the room and no one has contacted me or spoke to me since my calls. They won’t reply to email and a manager never got back with me to try and help me out. We’ve stayed here a couple times and I’m very disappointed that no one who works for Expedia or the hotel never contacted me. The costumers always right. That was an 8 year olds birthday money wasted for a trip that she never was able to enjoy. Honestly if you are a hotel that says that they would lose money because they could of booked the room to someone else. I’m sorry but if you are making that much money because the hotel is booked then why can’t they simply give me something that is still rightfully mine. I just want and need something that should be respectfully mine and my daughter.

We spent last weekend at Hilton Fortlauderdale Marina. We booked a high floor water view room which was supposedly facing the pool and the marina area according to the picture on EXPEDIA. We paid double price than a standard room to get this one because we liked the view it supposedly had. We asked the front desk manager to change our room since it was NOT what we bought. She said it was a “high floor water view room” and they were not able to change it because the hotel was completely booked and they had no more availability. I called EXPEDIA and sent them pictures of my balcony view with was NOTHING to do with the ones EXPEDIA has on their website. They took 3 days to give me an answer and the best they can do is a $25 bonus 😒 Are you serious man? I paid 2 times the prices of a standard room because we wanted to have the SAME VIEW you advertise NOT for a crappie view facing the streets 😡 Imagine buying a t-shirt online and you get a blouse. Do you get me? This is so unprofessional, you are lying to people and playing with people’s money. GO AND UPDATE YOUR PICTURES AND DO A GOOD JOB. People want what they buy NOT a completely different product. You have to be careful with what you book guys. Pictures are not accurate. I wish I could give you cero star but it’s not possible.

Perfect place to stay if you enjoy easy access to the marina and the beach. It is a small and quiet resort. Which we like because we go as a family and not the party scene. Which was cool for us 20 years ago ;) Service staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is trying to sign us up for the marketing sales pitch at their sister resort as soon as we checked in. When we politely said no, the front sales staff became rude and wouldn’t acknowledge us the entire week we were there. Not a biggie, but it’s polite to at least say hello or good after afternoon when passing by. What they forget to tell you is you can still go to the sister resort 10 mins away and enjoy the luxurious pools and view and also includes the all inclusive if you have that package. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We also didn’t need the sales pitch for discounts on activities. We met a very nice young man at the marina who took great care of us setting up the clear fiberglass boat and the dolphins experience.

I wouldn’t even give a star but I have to pick something. I booked a hotel with the app and chose the next day and check out the day after that. I paid the $1 to cover any problems if we had to cancel. Then when I went to cancel the day after booking which would have been the day we checked in later I was told that I couldn’t get my money back because I booked it for the day before. I triple checked the dates I entered and even hit the dates on the calendar for that Friday and check out Saturday. But they said I can’t get my money back because I was a no show. Yea because I booked it for the day after not the same day I submitted the booking. I am very disappointed in Expedia and their site and will never be using them again. Which is disappointing because we will need to book lots of hotels coming up due to our baby needing surgeries further from home and lots of appointments where it will be easier to get a hotel the night before. You lost lots of business from us. So anyone using this app or Expedia make sure when you book and get confirmation that it shows the correct dates because otherwise you will get screwed out of money. We lost almost $200 because of them when we could use that money for our baby’s doctor bills.

I highly recommend just using this app to strictly compare prices (kayak and hopper are also great apps for this and hopper has cheaper flights than any other place I’ve found). This is the second time booking my flight through Expedia. The first time was not that bad. This time though I had to do schedule changes for my flight. I called Expedia twice. They explained to me that they had a fee of about $90 to change the date (no biggie I understand) and that I had to pay the difference in price (again understandable) my ticket originally cost $340 and I looked up online how much of a difference it would be to estimate about how much I would be paying which was roughly $200 in total. I called the first time and I gave them specific flight numbers and time to make their job a bit easier, and the end result they were asking for was $800 which is a little over the top. I didn’t want to pay that much so I hung up and called again with in seconds to double check. And once I gave the exact information and everything the end amount was $1000 ???!! I understand that prices fluctuated but that was crazy. So I cut out the middle man (Expedia) and called the airline and ended up changing the dates for just $215.

I have loved Expedia since I started traveling on my own and the checkout process is always easy for me. Overall the app is decent and could use a few more features. For example when searching for an all inclusive on the website you can filter that option but in the app you must scroll through all hotels, motels and resorts. Also, I wish that you didn’t have to specifically search from one airport. The app states that it’s to help you find the best deal but to me the best deal would be found by checking all available airports that I am willing to travel to without having to research and put back in all of my filters every time. Also, they claim that it is cheaper to book through the app but I have always found that the better bundles are found on the website. It would also be nice if there was an “availability calendar” like on some other sights where you can see how much cheaper it would be to stay a different night. Another feature that would interest me is being able to search an entire country as your destination to try to find new and cool places to stay in a specific country.
Beautiful Resort

We went for a weekend getaway to Hilton Head in January and decided to stay at Omni Resort. It was a wonderful experience! Our room was spacious, very clean and the best thing is-it had a kitchenette. It also had two bathroom vanities, separated by one being inside a bathroom and one on the outside of bathroom. Our room had ocean view with a balcony. But the best part was the pools and two hot tubs! The pools were heated and super warm. The outside bar (closed for the season) and bathrooms were conveniently close. You could rent bikes right there at the pool area if you wanted to. In the evenings, we sat by a beautiful built-in gas fire pit surrounded by many chairs. There were a few fire pits through the resort. Also, there were many other activities that you could do for entertaining—large chess in the grass, bean bag toss, etc. A beautiful restaurant was on site as well, even though we didn’t end up eating there. The overall experience at Omni Resort was a pleasure, and we’d highly recommend it.

Do Not Use GreenMotion Rental agency. We rented a car from this company several weeks in advance. I called two days before to verify rental. Upon calling placed on hold. They said 4 callers ahead of me. I waited. The waiting machine told me 20 minutes. 1 hour and 10 minutes later I finally got the phone to ring. It rang twice. The the call ended. I called back and went into the waiting line once again. This time it was connected to an “agent”. He guaranteed me my rental was good and ended the call. The day of my trip my plane landed and I called the company. They told me to proceed to the off site rental area. We did this and waited with another group waiting for the same company. As other agencies came and went we soon realized we were in trouble. We called and received an answer. The agent asked if this was for Miami, some other place and Ft Lauderdale. It said Ft Lauderdale. The caller then transferred my called and the call ended once again. I would eventually get through. They told me they would contact the driver and he’d be on his way. We kept calling and received no more answers. Finally a fellow rental agency called the “the driver”. We were then told the agency was closed and they would not be coming. We called and waited for 45minutes to an hour. Do not use GREENMOTION

I’ve used Expedia for over 10 years faithfully. In March 2021 I booked a two night stay at a hotel in Satellite Beach, FL and upon arrival found bed bugs and or bodily fluid stains covering beds in a very unsanitary hotel, “Americas Best Value Inn Satelite Beach”. I called Expedia and explained situation to agent and he assured me that the second night would be refunded by Expedia but that I would have to work with the hotel for a refund of the first night which I attempted to do only to have the owner or manager tell me to never come back to his hotel and then he hung up on me before I could say anything. Now I receive an email from Expedia saying that they are not refunding me anything and that it was never promised. This is not only a lie but it is also against there refund policy. At worst I would only pay for the first night stay if cancelled after 3 PM on the first day. However in this situation I of course was not going to sleep in a bed that was unsanitary with bed bug stains and or bodily fluid stains (especially during a pandemic), of which I took numerous pictures of and sent them to both Expedia and the hotel manager or owner. Note that the hotel switched my first room with another room in which I found the exact same conditions on the bed which I also took pictures of.

This was the worst experience of my life. First it was a glitch in the system after booking through my Expedia account/app which I’ve had for years. There was a (unknown) woman’s name on my account/app and the same name was on my hotel reservation after I booked and payed. After going back and forth clearing that up (with Expedia) I decided to cancel the booking because of the inconvenience and (what I felt was a possible breach of my personal information). I did this the same day. Expedia told me that they wouldn’t charge me for my cancelation but to check with the hotel to see what their charges were. I called the hotel and the manager promised me that I wouldn’t be charged. So I hung up with the hotel and called Expedia back to cancel. After canceling I received a email (from Expedia) explaining that the hotel charged me a fee ($468). So immediately called the hotel to talk to the person that promised me that I wouldn’t be charged. He explained that they never received a payment and that Expedia has the funds. This all happened within a few hours (of booking and the complications) now Expedia doesn’t recognize my itinerary number because I just canceled and I can’t get through to a representative. I will never do business with this company again.

Well first I came into Hertz from a third party (Expedia) and thought I had already paid for it, as well as paid for extended collision insurance. No that’s not the what happened! I knew I had to show license and proof of insurance but had to rescan my card and add $32 per day for the extended insurance. Not the $10 a day that the website said! Ok I guess I should be so surprised! Now I am told to go out to zone 2 and pick any car from that area. I am intercepted by an employee that looks at my paperwork and sends me over to where they are cleaning and taking back other car’s! I go over to where she sent me and another girl grabs my paperwork and throws it in the trash! God I was so mad! I then grab the paperwork out of the trash ask another man where I should go to get my car and he points back to where I first came from. I decided to just jump in the first car in that area that had a 2 on the sign. By then all the people that where standing in line in back of me were getting into the cars and ended up with what was left. It was not a smooth experience at all! Poor actually I would say! Train your employees please! We are your customers and it is how you get paid!

I used this app for the first time this year. I had several issues with it that resulted in lowering my rating. First, I booked my trips on the website, then downloaded the app. Not all of my reservations loaded in the app and it appeared to be due to the auto-generated email address the app created for me. I couldn’t get any reservations made under my real email address to convert to the app. Second, I needed to update/cancel a booking on two different occasions. Anytime I attempted through the app I received a notice that the service was down and the request couldn’t be completed. I had to use the website to actually manage the bookings, which is counterintuitive. Finally, I stayed in two very poor hotels and wanted to give reviews. The app generates a link to use when reviewing. However, it’s not a hyperlink so you have to cut and paste into your browser. I attempted this multiple times, only to be told the link wasn’t legitimate. - I’ve traveled extensively throughout the world and this was the first time I’ve ever used Expedia. I believe other sites/apps are easier and don’t expect to use them again.

Be careful! I needed to change my itinerary a couple of times on the website in the same evening and hit the “change itinerary” button under the one I had booked. A message came up that said, “search for a new flight“. Long story short, instead of changing my itinerary it created two new ones, and I ended up booking three flights for the same day! When I discovered this I called customer service, and they kept saying they needed to have a supervisor call me back. They assured me a supervisor would call me back. No one ever has. I have been working on this for 4 to 5 days now. I have made numerous calls, and I’m always assured someone will call me back to help me with the issue. Expedia will not refund my money, but will only offer a flight credit, which a SUPERVISOR will supposedly issue when they call me back. I am sick of going round and round in this loop with Expedia, who used to have excellent customer service. Not anymore! I will think twice before ever using them again after this fiasco. No refund of hundreds of dollars for 2 unusable flights, thanks to their app either glitching or misleading. It is unfortunate I didn’t catch it sooner, but in my opinion this is on them.

I am not pleased with Expedia. I scheduled a rental car and did not get collision coverage. I received an email telling new it’s not too late to add it in. I clicked the button and tried 5+ times to add it but it kept saying “sorry please try again later”. I tried to add it directly on the app and same thing. I called and was given another number to call. Called that number and was given a third number. I called 3rd number and spoke to someone and they transferred me. I was on hold 20 min and had to hang up because I had somewhere to be and was already running late from over an hour being tossed around. My husband said “it’s fine, it says on the email you can add it when you pick the car up”. I just picked the car up and Budget said they could not honor the $10/day rate, that’s thru Expedia. I called the 3rd number again and the gentleman from the insurance agency said it could only be authorized by an Expedia supervisor. He had no authority and no back door access. Needless to say I did not pay the $30/day collision coverage thru budget. I WILL NOT GO THRU EXPEDIA AGAIN. My time is valuable and I don’t like being treated this way. Lost a hotel night

I booked two hotel nights however when we realized that our arrival time put us after the closing for the car rental we called Expedia to see if we could make a change. I spoke to the Expedia representative, she informed me my booking was nonrefundable, but she would call the hotel and ask if they would give permission to make the change. She made the call, said the hotel gave the permission and for me to call the hotel to confirm; which I did. The Expedia rep told me I just needed to get a receipt from the hotel to show I was there for one night and submit it upon my return for reimbursement of this single day. Once the OK was given by Expedia and the hotel to change the booking to one night I made a reservation for a hotel across the street from the airport. We arrived at the Expedia hotel the following day and when it came to checking out and I asked for a receipt and they said that needed to be obtained from Expedia since I booked through them. I called Expedia and, of course, spoke to another rep who informed me my booking was nonrefundable. I explained the above and he gave me, essentially, a verbal shrug of the shoulders and that was that – no reimbursement, and no recourse, no use of Expedia in the future.

At 11:15pm, I made a reservation through Expedia for a motel room for my son in Escondido, California. Five minutes later he called me to tell me his truck broke down and he couldn’t make it. I immediately called Quality Inn and told them to cancel the reservation. When I asked them to please refund my card - it’s amazing how fast Expedia charges your card!! - they informed me they couldn’t do that as only Expedia could! Within 10 minutes, I called Expedia and was told I’d be refunded by 9am! That was March 22, it’s now April 27,2020! After 30+ phone calls and emails, they have both lied to me over & over! The motel says only Expedia can refund me, Expedia says the motel won’t authorize it, and the manager says they-Expedia-aren’t telling the truth! Now the last excuse from the supervisor at Expedia is that the hotel charged them, therefore they can’t refund me!!!! Many calls to Expedia had me waiting 20-30 min. Only to be discontinued! Most of their phone employees don’t speak English enough to easily understand them and I had to ask them to repeat and repeat! It’s not so much about the money but the principal!! Their website says Free Cancellations!!!This is the most unethical company and I, and all my friends, will never use them again!!!!

I booked a room thru Expedia and when I checked in it doesn’t show that I paid. I had to pay for the room again. I was told by the receptionist this happens all the time with Expedia. They said I have to call Expedia myself. I tried to get some help thru the app and the “virtual chat” is soo useless and just a waste of time. It repeatedly asks for my itinerary number, my cell number, last 4 digits of credit card and still it can’t help me. Someone alive finally came into the conversation and then I waited for another 10 minutes while it figures out my problem it replied “I can see we got disconnected”!!!!! I called the number I was given and it says “we’re not available at this time’ Then I called back after an hour and while I was entering my itinerary number, it said “you waited too long to answer” and it hang up on me. I tried calling back again today, I was on hold for 1 hour and 3 minutes and when someone came on the line I asked him kindly to call me back if we get disconnected since I’ve been on hold for an hour but sure enough we got disconnected and I didn’t get a call back. EXPEDIA is so frustrating. I will never book with them again. Their customer support is very poor, if any!

I would have left a zero star if possible. My wife typed in the search bar for flights from Philadelphia “PHL” to Atlanta “ATL”. She booked a flight and after printing the ticket she noticed the first flight was from Trenton NJ. She called and explained the situation and they still charged us $109 to change the ticket. She obviously explained that a flight from Trenton should have never shown up in a search from Philly. Not to mention why would anyone park at one airport then return to another? That’s ridiculous! They refused to make good on their search engine mistake. Trenton should’ve never been included in Philly flights. I have used Expedia quite a bit but will NEVER EVER use them again. What happened to the days of “the customer is always right”? By the way they did the same search as she did and saw that Trenton came up and admitted it shouldn’t have. Then the Superviser lies through his teeth and told her “we can see here that you did indeed type in and search for Trenton flights as well!!! Why the hell would anyone flying out of Philly search for Trenton flights then fly back to Philly. They literally lied through their teeth! Dishonest and disgraceful! You should be ashamed Expedia!!!!!! We’ll be using Kayak from now on.

I recently found out I tested positive for COVID. So I called to cancel a flight reservation that I made through Expedia on Delta. Since it was a basic reservation with no “travel insurance” (what a scam that is) they screwed me out of $384, even though I could prove COVID easily with my test results, and I wasn't randomly canceling my flight. The best they had for me was call Delta who of course after 2 hours on hold said call Expedia. This really shows what kind of company Expedia is. Even in the worst pandemic in 100 years, if they can stick it to you they will, COVID or not. I’ve used them for many years and as they got bigger, they got worse. At this point I don’t see that Expedia brings any value to the table, and I will never use them again. I’m vaccinated and I most likely have the Delta variant of COVID. The effect is like a bad cold, I could probably travel and get away with it. I presume that going forward my situation will not be that unusual. I’ve chosen to do the right thing anyway even at the cost of the ticket, sadly Expedia isn't capable of doing the right thing. Had I booked directly with Delta I could have canceled for COVID. Do yourself a favor, go to the airlines directly cut Expedia out of the picture.

I’ve been calling, using the app, filling out forms and no one is able to give me a call back or answer my request to cancel my flight which is today. I understand that with the ban to travel to Europe there’s a surge of cancellations. However, Expedia is deliberately trying to not answer customers by hanging up on them and making us fill out forms for cancellations, which can take up to 14 days. All communications with this company are nonexistent . Been calling since I found out about the ban, even though in their website it advertises that you should call if your trip is within 7 days. I call, provide my itinerary number, places me on hold, and after 2 songs on the line, they hang up on me even before answering. With the itinerary number and date of travel that they ask, all customers who have flights today should have been answered and filtered out to provide assistance. Meanwhile, other flight companies like delta or answering their customers in less than 20 min!!! Never again booking with this company! Lesson learned. I’m sure other customers agree- just look at the comments of desperate people on their social media pages trying to get some assistance.

We recently book 5 international flight tickets through Expedia on Virgin Atlantic. Virgin canceled one leg of our trip from San Francisco to Johannesburg. The 1st leg from SFO to London was canceled. I received an email notice from Expedia after which I contacted the customer care number being a Gold member for years now expecting a smooth solution to the problem. After multiple calls spending more than 7 hours on the phone and being promised every time that our case is in good hands and that Expedia will send us email confirmation informing us about an alternative solution. I’m still waiting and did not receive any emails with alternative solutions to our canceled flight. The only email I did receive was confirmation of the cancellation of our bookings after my call with a representative today. Very disappointed in the way our case was handled, the empty promises by representatives with no solution to our canceled flight.

Be really careful and think before using Expedia to book something, I planned and booked a whole trip with Expedia spending around $10,000 between flights, hotels and activities, one of the days I arrived to Rome and I went to check my email confirmation to call the hotel/property phone number and the answer that they where not partnered with Expedia anymore so I spent another 4 hours!!! Talking to their representatives repeating the information over and over again, talked to supervisors, managers and they allocation department which where trying to charge me for another place!!! I keep calling and calling them and nobody helped! The call keep failing or disconnecting, I don't know if they do it to get out of the hook but they never returned the call that obviously they have my phone number on file, so I ended walking at 1 in the morning with my family looking for another place to sleep with no battery in my phone to call them again after 4 hours with them! Also when you reserve a rental car Do Not Use their insurance because when you get to the rental place the companies say they don’t accept Expedia insurance and Expedia won’t reimburse for what you paid of their insurance!

Words simply cannot explain how irritated I am with EXPEDIA . I booked a room and was charged for it. As I pulled up to the hotel I received a call from the receptionist at the hotel telling me that there were no rooms available and they didn’t t know why Expedia booked me. I immediately called Expedia and I was put on hold for more than 50 minutes at least 3 times. This was a Saturday night. When I did get someone on the line, the kept telling me that they had to call the hotel to see if I could be refunded my money. Simply giving me the run around. It wasn’t until the following Monday that someone told me I would be refunded but it would take 7 days and it wouldn’t be the whole amount . I was like Hell No, I want my money back immediately. Why can’t people do the right thing???? Why do they Nickel and dime people. I will NEVER use this company again. It is so disrespectful to leave people on hold for a long period of time hoping they will hang up. This is so wrong and extremely unprofessional. STOP TAKING PEOPLE’s Money if you aren’t going to go over and beyond to make sure they are accommodated and treated with the utmost respect. Unacceptable! I will do everything I can to spread the word about this company.
Frontier Airlines selling tickets to destinations that don’t exist

I went through to get airline tickets to Guadalajara Mexico. Through frontier Airlines. Purchased a ticket to fly 1140 P.m. they use third-party third-party for the flight “Volaris.” So when we got to the air had no flight going to Guadalajara. So Frontier try to book flight the next night to go Guadalajara. Same time One day later. Check with Volaris they had no flights The next night to Guadalajara. Frontier Airlines are selling tickets for flights that don’t exist. This was was it a important flight so we can receive grandmas body that was being flown to Guadalajara. So you can see why we are so upset with this problem. Expedia need to re-consider using frontier Airlines. I’ve used Expedia all the time. This experience has been so bad. Right now The way I feel I don’t know if I want use Expedia again. I hope to frontier Airlines sailing practice. And straighten it out or quit promoting flight through Frontier Airlines.

We bought a ticket from Orange County ti Evansville with an hour stop in Chicago. First the flight was delayed an hour in Orange County , of course arrived half hour late at O’Hara’s, so the people missed the plane to Evansville. My mom wasn’t informed about this by crew , one of the passengers told my mom about this so he went and found out the next plane was at 9;50 pm . So my mom helped by this passenger was waiting fir the plane but then she was moved to another flight an hour later. My mom was upset because all the wait and changes and the fact that we were waiting at Evansville at 5 in the afternoon according to the ticket we bought . It’s the second time that American Airlines does this uncalled and don’t care about costumer imposition. We were waiting my mom for hours and had to paid taxi for that many hours, we live two hours from airport. I tried to talk on the phone with supervisor he told my mom that was personal , he wouldn’t talk to me . My mom is 73 has to use restroom many times, she was hungry and cold waiting in airport fir more than 6 hours ......now them just told my mom they re canceling the flight again .... wth please a supervisor on any help in O’Hara’s airport

I usually swear by this app and have used it quite a lot, and told my husband to use it going across country, and tell everyone else to use it, too. But right now I need a hotel for TONIGHT after midnight and it won’t even LET me put tonight’s date in! If the hotels won’t allow me to book, that is one thing, and not in the control of the app. Let me find that out when I put the date in and then nothing comes up. Now I have no idea how I will even LOOK for something. Totally ridiculous. If the only response from Expedia customer service is going to be that no hotel will be available so therefore you didn't think there was a point to have that option be available, or if the response will be anything other than that this ridiculous policy/dumb mistake that that the app developers made will be changed please don’t insult me with a ‘response’. Keep it to yourselves.

I kept getting phone calls from an Arizona phone number that I ignored bc I don’t know anyone in AZ. When I called the numbers back, the calls would not go through. I also received emails from an email address that was different from my initial confirmation email and contained a different phone number than what’s on Expedia’s webpage. When I called the number on the Expedia site, they initially told me that everything was fine. But after checking with the airlines, it seems that one of my flights couldn’t be booked bc of missing information. (Missing info was birthday.....that was submitted during purchase and stored in my profile on Expedia). Weird that one flight was booked/confirmed with no issue and the return flight couldn’t be ticketed bc of that. Unfortunately the airline couldn’t complete the booking and I had to call Expedia again for assistance. I spent at least an hour on the phone with Expedia today. And come to find out that whoever booked our flights didn’t have enough common sense to book my toddler in a seat next to me. So I’m still waiting for the return flight to be ticketed so I can try to change seats. Never again Expedia.

Let me just say how fantastic the staff of the Hyatt Centric were! My wife and daughter flew from the states overnight on Delta and arrived at the hotel around 8:30 a.m. Hyatt employee Caleb spoke to my wife and let her know that the room was not ready till a bit later. He was able to work his magic and got my wife and 10 year old daughter into their room a bit earlier than that. I was going to Join them in the morning later traveling from Dublin. Upon my arrival at the hotel I was greeted by Catiana. She was so welcoming and provided me with a warm and welcoming experience. Check in went very smoothly and I met up with my family. During our stay, the front desk was fabulous with directions, tour bookings and general recommendations for the area. The hotel is brand new, and has comfortable accommodations and nicely appointed amenities. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants an American style stay in Europe.

After going on our first family trip to universal studios Orlando we tried to save money and purchase tickets through Expedia.. unfortunately the purchase was made for universal Hollywood... After freaking out because the purchase was over $$900 and they informed me there was a strict no refund policy I really was devastated... We were able to come up with the funds to enter Orlando but we were out the $900... After communicating with supervisor after supervisor they were able to contact Hollywood and ask for a refund. .. it took a few weeks but I was refunded the entire amount and they kept in contact with me throughout the entire process.. I'm definitely extremely grateful they went the extra mile to make that happen..I have a large family and we saved up for that family vacation for a while .. We will definitely be using Expedia again because the customer service was great!

I have spent a great deal of travel money through Expedia, but their current level of service is abominable. If I could give a rating below one star I would. In April I discovered I have colon cancer. I immediately had surgery followed by chemo. I had planned a fishing trip to Alaska with my granddaughter and made a reservation through Expedia for two rooms at hotel near the airport. My chemo experience has been devastating and I had to cancel the trip - the fishing lodge and Alaska Airlines were most accomodating, refunding my fare on short notice. Money- grubbing Expedia is another story, even though I purchased their trip insurance. I could not find a human with whom to explain my predicament, but was shunted to a "virtual agent" who texted that even though I had trip insurance, more than a week prior to the reservation was to late to cancel, for any reason - cancer isn't good enough. I wasn't even referred to love agent to chat, all I got were canned answer, or "I don't understand" then I was cut off. If only a few of you take this message to heart, it will cause this cold, rapacious business far more than the cost my rooms. I travel alot, but will never use Expedia again

I'm fuming right now after using this app. I've used it many times before and never had so much trouble but I'm feeling livid this time around. I tried booking a trip and received the error "We're unable to complete your booking. Please wait a moment and try again". No reason for what's going on just try again. Fine. Only I checked my bank account and have instant charges from Delta Airlines with no ticket or confirmation of successful purchase to go with it. The charge is only for one of 3 tickets, so that's also concerning. I tried calling customer service many times but there is no getting past their terrible robot costumer service without a booking number. None was ever issued. If we're far along enough in the process for you to charge me random amounts, you need to let me call you or ask someone what's going on. I 'waited a moment and tried again' and the same thing happened all over again. I kept an eye out for a booking number, other customer service option, and I'm sitting here with no idea how to fix this situation short of calling my bank. Terrible customer experience. I'm done with Expedia.

Let me start this off that I’ve used Expedia for years with no issues. Well last night was the worst nightmare for my mom and I. We were flying out of Newark to London, going through IcelandAir. I booked our flight back in May. When we went to get checked in and get our boarding passes, they said I was good, but when they scanned my moms passport, it came up that her e-ticket number was invalid and flagged…. Then we had to go aside and call the airline and Expedia. IcelandAir couldn’t look at our details as it wasn’t booked through them, they told me that I had to call Expedia. Well Expedia tried telling me to call IcelandAir… I told them that it was their mess and fault that we were in this situation and that they better fix it as we had reservations made in England! Essentially they told us that we couldn’t fix it, even though it was THERE fault! There was a woman behind us with two twin girls that ran into the same exact issue! So note in advance, if your looking for an international trip, DON’T book with Expedia, go through either the airline itself or a travel agency. This is a huge scam that they do to try and make more money.

Went to reserve a hotel room. I put all the information that it needed, which meant my credit card. It charged me and everything. Then the app quit working and it didn’t give me a itinerary number or anything. So I called Expedia and explain to them that you charge me and that I got no itinerary number or a receipt saying that my room was reserved. The guy did not understand at all. He kept asking me if I wanted an upgrade and I said no I don’t want a upgrade you charge me for a room that I didn’t get The guy went on telling me there was nothing for him to do. I told him okay then I want my money back cause you charge me twice which I saw in my bank account. He told me I had to call my bank and figure it out. I am not going to call my bank for something you did. So after fighting over the phone with him for about 10 minutes about how he couldn’t do anything, he finally said that those 2 charges will be in my back on my card in 24 hours to about 48 hours. I will not be reserving anything off of Expedia again. I understand that the app will sometimes freeze, but when it does, they need to have better costumer support and not tell me to fix the mistakes they made.

I recently booked flights through Expedia for $2000. I was charged twice so I reached out to their customer service through the app. I provided the credit card statements showing the double charge and not only did the representative refuse to refund me for the double charge they refused to give me a supervisor. I will never buy tickets again through Expedia and still am fighting for the refund for the double charge.

I like this app and use it a lot, but the prices it displays for hotels are totally fake. For example a hotel that the app displays as being $66/night is actually $227/night when you try to reserve it, which is ridiculous. What’s the purpose of allowing the user to filter on price if it completely ignores the total price of the rental? Other reservation apps show you the actual price, not some irrelevant price before mandatory “fees” that the property adds on.

It’s very easy to buy airline tickets, hotels and car rentals, but when something goes wrong prepare yourself for a nightmare, extremely long time to ge ahold of some customer support or maybe never get one. Last time I bought an airplane ticket, but when I got to the airport they never had my reservation even thought a had a reservation code given by Expedia. Try to reach Expedia and couldn’t never got to get in contact with customer support. Fortunately my money was given back two days after the incident and not by Expedia. From now on I’m buying my plane tickets directly from the airline, at least I know I’m not losing my trip and can get customer support on an office or by phone. Goodbye Expedia

The Hampton Inn near the convention center was perfect! Clean rooms, close parking garage, and right in the heart of the City. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The breakfast was great, and with Covid safety precautions in place, I felt comfortable during our stay. We travel into the city often, and this will be our new go to place to stay!!

Yesterday I spent 4-5 hours with six different customer service representatives. Four of them told me to call Frontier airlines to deal with the problem and the other two said Expedia was doing a software update in the middle of the day on a Saturday and as of Sunday morning I still have not been able to complete the booking. I finally asked the last person to honor the pricing I had later due to Expedia’s problem and I was told they would not. I have yet to have a good experience using Expedia and will continue to use Apple Vacations moving forward.

And the grand finale - they refused to give a receipt - the reason is that hotel was booked via Expedia. After much arguing the printout was provided without hotel name or logo (?!). Overall - total disapointment.

I had booked a flight and was feeling a bit sick and wanted to test for covid before going on the flight, so I called costumer service to let to know and to change my flight date so I can be sure I am healthy before boarding the plane. After 20-30 min of being on the phone with them they said they will change my flight and all I have to do is pay the difference which I was more then happy to pay until I heard the amount they want to charge me for changing the flight... They wanted to charge me more then a new flight would cost me just for the changing it! This is outrageous I can’t wrap my mind around the idea of them trying to charge me 240$ for changing my flight while they have the flight available for purchase for 170$.. I was shocked and felt like I am being scammed I will never use Expedia again! And all this happened as I am Gold member which spends a lot of money through this app.

The rooms and property are set on a nice bay. The storm and wind only made the property more romantic. The food is just ok. Overpriced in my opinion, and I’m willing to pay for a nice meal. Overall, very clean and comfortable place with friendly staff.

I booked a flight two months in advance. 15 days before flight I casually try to see the flight details. Couldn’t see my flight so contacted the customer service and they said: Maybe details are not up yet. Then 2 min later they said oh that flight is canceled. I NEVER received any information regarding it. Talked with airline they said you didn’t buy ticket from us. So who is responsible to send me info. Expedia you are. I bought it from you. I added insurance, i did everything right. I asked to put me on any other flight you say you can’t. Offered me refund for the purchase (which i will) but now tickets are 3 times the amount i got it? I will eventually miss this trip. I had to see my family after 2 years. You made me miss it. I will never ever get anything from you EVER in my life. Zero accountability when you sell a ticket that’s not job end. Your job ends till the flight has taken off!

I had to reschedule the inbound flight of a round trip for my wife and the infant. So the Expedia agent cancelled them from the reservation and using the travel credits issued by Etihad Airlines, rescheduled their flight for a later date. While rescheduling, the agent messed up the infant’s last name. I have easily spent over 20hours over a period of 8days with more than 10 agents + supervisors from Expedia customer support to get this fixed but none of them were able to resolve the issue. They try to get away saying the passenger should call the airline directly to get this resolved. I am in this mess because of the Expedia agent in the first place, and they insist me to deal with it. On contacting the airline myself, they say it’s Expedia who needs to fix this as they are the ones who issued the ticket. Despite spending so much money, it’s ridiculous that Expedia doesn’t want to help with the issue they created. Never going to book anything with Expedia again.

Due to last minute restrictions from Egyptair which had full vaccination for US citizens or PCR test. In panic over new variant Egyptair made it mandatory that only PCR negative results would be peritoneal fly. My 3 vaccine cards were useless. I had trip insurance. I had arrived at airport. 3 hours early and marked me as a no show. So Expedia would not refund my $. Will never book with Expedia again. Worst customer service ever.

Trying to use credits is devastatingly frustrating. The website is of poor quality and does not allow one to easily apply a credit to a new purchase. You are directed to call customer services. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is . The wait times for getting assistance is enormous leading to more frustration . Do not use this website for any purchases. You will absolutely regret it . I have booked a rental car with full insurance from them for my trip to Mexico for thanksgiving When I went there the car rental told me that the insurance is not valid Expedia refused to solve the issue, while they already got the money and I had to pay three times the price to get a car from another company since it was high season Even after coming back to the USA they refused to refund the money that they got from me for the insurance and told me that I should contact insurance company and ask them to get my money back In general I totally felt that I have been scammed and no matter what I will never use their service anymore

My Husband checked in the Spruce Lane Lodge on November 29, 2021. The room was clean and looked comfortable as he has stayed here before. However when he went to shower there wasn’t any hot water not even lukewarm but cold water. This was very disappointing after a hard days work in the area. We called later after checking out to inform the owners of the issue to be inform they had 24 hour call and that we should have called that evening unaware there was a 24 hour call line and then told us they would get their team on the issue. Not one word like we are sorry for this issue or inconvenience this may have caused or maybe if he was to revisit the area a night on them to keep their customers satisfied but that is okay. I will not be making reservations at Spruce Lane Lodge again.

I reserved a Room at the Ramada here in Phoenix because our electricity had gone out due to the rain. I showed up to the Hotel to find the Air Condition was not working. They took my money and never got the 3 international flight tickets for us. The tickets were forever pending as the rep Ahmet did not put in the passport numbers. The Deysi could not fix the issue, refused to help or connect us to the supervisor and was very unhelpful and disrespectful. There is no number to call, you have to book through the Virtual Chat with their unprofessional employees. No one is accountable for their mistakes. Now we got no tickets, no money and expired bookings. Never again will I deal with this company.

Over the past few years Ive used Expedia for secondary, usually personal, travel arrangements. They represent virtually every mode of transport & lodging. Customer service, itineraries, etc all first rate. The phone ap is easy (says me, a boomer with not much ap patience.) And you go on line on a desktop and get a seamless experience. Though you often don't get the points from Marriott or other travel companies through these third party bookings, they have their own program that's both generous and easy to use. I'm retired to self employment and i'm starting to use Expedia for all my travel except for SWA, of course and others that don't participate in third party bookings. Only gripe has been a couple of non -refundable hotel stays that were in sketchy areas that i elected not to use. One of those refunded after a complaint, however.

Deleting the app. The car rental canceled a reservation & Expedia didn’t refund it to the card that was paid with. They refunded a card on file that is closed. Filing a dispute now. They didn’t even return my points that was used. Will never use Expedia again and I’ve been a customer for 12 years. Horrible customer service and horrible company.

I have been an Expedia customer since 2014. The more I use them , the more I realize they are rated excellent, especially in handling problems with cancellations or changing flights . They have excellent online service that are willing to help you at the end. Very easy people to talk to . I recommend Expedia in your next travel experience.

Uso Expedia por más de 12 años, (maybe for more then 15), but at least more then 12 si!!. Viajo seguido y uso sus servicios especialmente de hotel. Muy recientemente al momento de pagar escogí cash y me dio la opción de revisar q si pagaba cash sería casi el doble de la cantidad o q pagara con credit card. Así q en esta ocasión, acepte la opción con credit card a casi la mitad de precio. Cuando hice click esa opción mucho más económica, me mandan la habitual confirmación, pero diciéndome una cantidad totalmente diferente. Y también de mi tarjeta de crédito recibí notificación. Casi el doble!!!!!!! Llamo a Expediay me dicen q no pueden hacer nada, que pudo haber sido un error etc etc etc puras evasivas y echándome la culpa q quizá yo me espere para hacer booking y q el precio cambio..(cosa q no hice) y q ellos es lo q cobran la noche. Total, me salió más caro q si hubiera ido directo al hotel sin Expedia. Para colmo! No es la primera vez q con ellos me sucede algo así. Pero no había tenido la oportunidad de reclamar. Una compañía q roba a sus clientes de esta forma fraudulenta, no merece ni un penny. Or what do you think? Lección q aprendí : Usar Expedia solo como referencia, pero no hacer reservaciones con ellos y remover mi tarjetas de crédito .

I have used Expedia for many years, but last year I had to cancel a couple flights due to COVID related changes in location. I purchased insurance and was told that I didn’t have enough proof to get a refund. Okay fine. I was given 4 credits for each leg of the flight. They expire next winter. I tried to use the credits to book a flight this coming December. The airlines said I was no show on the flights even though it showed I had canceled my flights, via the Expedia app, in advance of all the flights. I was told to call Expedia back. I proceeded to spend the next two days on hold, explaining my situation to new operators, being promised a call back from a supervisor, etc. Over a week later, no call from a supervisor and my credit that I was trying to redeem has disappeared from my account AFTER I tried to use it. They are liars, cheats, and outsourced to the hilt. Don’t trust anything you do on this app. Book through the airlines and double check your hotel reservations.

Worst company ever. Booked a trip and they did not tell me the flight changed. The change made it impossible for me to make my connecting flight. They still sent me the same itinerary and never mentioned the issues. I only discovered it when I went to the airport. The trip had to be rebooked and we left the next day. Expedia denied any responsibility and said they would take no blame. They did nothing and said have a great day. I strongly advise you to consider other options that when an issue occurs, they stand by the customer rather than push you away.

Called customer support multiple times and waited on hold for over three hours with a total of five people. Several agents told me I was eligible to a refund due to the nature of the flights being delayed by the airline due to lack of crew until a later date, but said they weren’t able to help me and to call back the next day. The next day I called and had two separate agents drop my call. Ended up never getting a refund and booking a flight through an airline directly.

The Holiday Inn Express Cedar Hill, Tx was the most unsanitary hotel I have ever visited. There was mold in the bathroom that was sickening and the bed linen was dirty and the room was smelly, like old stale smoke coupled with the smell of animals. The remote control was so crusty, I refused to touch it. Why isn’t anyone doing inspections on these places before making you agree to a non-refundable agreement. Now I’m waiting 5-15 days to get my money due to Expedia and Club Wyndom RCI CLUB. WISH I COULD ATTACH PICTURES!

Expedias refund policies are draconian and predatory. The cancellation process is such that you cant cancel via the App or at least the App cancellation doesnt offer confirmation. This would appear to be beneficial to expedia as they can then claim “no show” via the vendor notifying them that you didnt show, even after hitting the cancel button 20x on the app. And you would say, why dont you just gondirectly to the vendor… well they cant issue you any form of refund w/o recieving notification from expedia. Its a giant corn maze that always dumps you back out at the starting point. This actually the second occurrance of this in the last 3 months… yes im a glutton and a trusting soul. Doom on me. Avoid Expedia…bewarned

Rude to customers. Supervisor hung up on me after 5 hours of wait for the call. Took 20 months+ and still waiting for the refund. I have been +8 year customer and spent around $40K worth, and treated very poorly. Expedia is relucatant to work with the customers and shifts responsibilities or blame to other companies or even the customers themselves.

We had a very poor experience when we missed a flight to Cancun, Mexico. The airline allowed us to keep a portion of our flight however expedias policy would not allow, and Expedia canceled the entire flight. We lost round trip airfare for two people. I recommend always booking direct thru the airline website. Leave Expedia out of it. Same with the hotel we couldn’t stay in as a result of the missed flight. The hotel was okay with us canceling due to a missed flight (the Westin) however Expedia charged our card and would not issue a refund. We talked to an Expedia agent in both instances and were denied help both times due to Expedia policy on changes. I’ll never book their Expedia again.

After booking trips on this app, one night late I booked a room. Instantly I was afraid it was the wrong location. I hit the cancel button o the virtual agent. Only to find there is ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, and in one minute, Expedia had stolen my money. I called Virgin hotel, they were willing to help but needed Expedia to contact. But with no real humans as customer, and only a series of foreign outsourced people who had now power to help, I wasted days trying to correct the booking that could have been fixed with in 5 minutes by a real person. In the end I had booked a room, accidentally cancels it, Expedia left me with no stay, no room, no money. No help and they gladly kept my money for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT PAIN AND SUFFERING. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BOOK DIRECT. THERE ARE NO SAVINGS HERE, only theft.

Expedia accepted My debit card reservation payment for Hertz rental car , then when we got To the airport In Chicago they wouldn’t let Me rent the car, wouldn’t refund me my money either , Expedia told Me Hertz was the reason they wouldn’t refund but I called the manager at Hertz and he said they did refund Expedia and gave me a receipt. I am Never working with Expedia again.

I am a Professional Photographer and I had booked two nights stay because of the Vintage Trailer Show in Buellton. This was my 1st year covering this Event and was told the Saturday was the Day with all the Fun. I booked the two nights knowing that i would have an Awesome Time. A week before the Event I had to cancel my Saturday night Reservation due to another two events that I had to cover Saturday Morning in Anahiem and Saturday Evening in Devore that would finish at 10:30pm so I lnew that i couldn’t stay the 2nd Night. I tried to cancel thru the Hotel and thru Expedia. The Hotel was nasty to me when i told them i needed to check out Saturday Morning and Expedia was no help either. I was charged for both Nights plus an extra two Service charges and i left at 5:15 Saturday Morning just to makenit to my Anaheim Event Saturday Morning after taking over 1800 Photos in Buellton on Friday at the Vintage Teailer Show and another 200 Photos at the Mendalson Museum. I did like the room and the price but too bad i stayed for one night got charged for two night plus Sevice Charges

I booked three hotel rooms and two flights on Expedia for a recent trip. None of the hotels had ever heard of me, although the rooms had been pre-paid. I had to double pay for the rooms, then spend hours on the phone to get them to authorize my pre-payment and get a refund for the hotels. Same with the airlines. They got my reservations right, but although the airlines had my wife’s name and reservation number…and CONFIRMATION numbers from both the airline and Expedia…they did not have authorization from Expedia to issue her boarding pass. On the outbound flight, we flew Alaska. They were able to call Expedia and get her boarding pass, but it took them 45 minutes. Good thing we arrived at the airport early! On the return flight, we flew Delta and tried to preemptively fix the issue the night before our flight. The Expedia lady tried to assure us that everything was good to go for our flight the next morning, but we had just talked to Delta, and they said it was not. Bottom line was that we ended up buying another ticket at a higher price from Delta the next morning, because Delta would NOT honor my wife’s reservation. (Again, mine was ok.) WE HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ISSUED A REFUND FOR THE DELTA TICKET AND WE NEVER WILL BE. Our trip was 5 days and four nights. We spent nearly 7 hours on the phone with Expedia during that time. (No exaggeration.) Do yourself a favor: use Expedia for the information but don’t give them a dime. You will regret it if you do.

I use Expedia pretty often, about once a month on average. I’m in a long-distance marriage because of my military deployment schedule. This month, my wife and I were finally going on our long overdue honeymoon (6 years), but the DoD has put out travel restrictions that would allow that to happen. So I went on the Expedia app to cancel/change my reservation. I managed to cancel my flights, but I didn’t cancel my hotel because there was no refund option or an option to change my reservation. At that point I was okay with just canceling my flight and contacting Expedia to see what I could do about my hotel reservation. But as get off the app and am about to make the call to Expedia, I receive multiple emails regarding my cancellations. To my surprise, the hotel was also cancelled. This was a $3,000 resort in Aruba. I proceed to call customer service, and waited on hold for over an hour, then the call just dropped out of nowhere. Luckily, I went online earlier to schedule Expedia customer service to call me. When they did, I could hardly communicate with the agent because it seemed as if English was not their native language. The agent proceeded to transfer me to another person to help then they hung up on me. I cannot afford another $3,000 for a vacation and now I cannot take my wife on the honeymoon I promised her. This will definitely be the last time I use Expedia or any of its sister companies.
Bug keeps choosing random dates

In the past this app has worked well but recently, I’m going back a couple of updates now over the past couple of months it’s head above where when you are on the road and you start to search for a motel it will randomly choose some date in the future instead of defaulting to the current days date for your check in time. Most people on the road which no doubt account for the largest Group of users need it to default to the current days date for the check-in date, not to some random date in the future. And even if people were looking for a room for the future what are the chances that the random date this app chooses is going to be the one you need, so it’s better to have it default to the current date for check-in and the following day for check out the way it used to. That’s much more convenient for the largest group of users. I’ve even changed the date to the current day and then head to choose a different town because the initial town I searched and didn’t have enough motels, find a room book it and then find out later the app and change the date to a random date in the future causing me then have to spend an hour calling Expedia: 3 service to get it straightened out. Please fix the app where it defaults to the current days date for check-in and the following days date for check out the way it has always done in the past.

I have used Expedia for YEARS. This has always been my go-to service for hotels, flights, and cars. I was supposed to go to Atlanta for work and happily booked my plane tickets through Expedia as I always did. With the COVID crisis and travel restrictions, my trip to Atlanta needed to be canceled. For some reason I wasn’t able to cancel my flight online, and was instructed to call customer service. I did, and received a recording that because my travel was not in the next 72h they could not help me, and to call back when I was within that window. So I waited until Sunday, when I was finally in the 72h window. I was on hold for 3 hours, with no option for a call back, before being disconnected without speaking to anyone. I called back at 10pm Sunday night. I slept on and off, with my phone on speakerphone until I woke up at 5am, still on hold. I didn’t speak to a representative until 8am Monday morning- at that point I had been on hold for 10 HOURS. I explained the situation to the gentleman (named David) and asked that if we got disconnected to please call me back as I had been on hold all night. He confirmed my phone number and happily agreed. 1h and 15 minutes later, with absolutely no resolution, the call was disconnected. No. Call Back. 11h15m wasted. I called Delta, got an immediate response AND they refunded my ticket. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER USE EXPEDIA FOR ANYTHING ELSE AS LONG AS I LIVE DUE TO HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN.

Me and my father bought our tickets $500 dollars and for return it was free next thing you know the cancelled my flight back so I called and they gaved me another flight closer they wanted to charge me for a return flight so I told them why would they charge me for something they cancelled they hanged up on me so I called them again but a different person answered so I told them the whole thing again. So they gaved me a flight a good flight but the thing was they the last flight to my destination was p.m so I was ok with that time. Now when we were at Washington my last flight they changed it at the last second and me and my father were freaking out on why would they do that so we were stuck at Washington tell we figured on what to do. So I called Expedia for a money return but the guy was falling asleep at the job real professional guys, so I was telling him why I wanted that so he told me “ok I’m going to call United for a refund so it’s going to take 7-8 minutes on the wait time so if the phone call hangs up is this number ok to call back” I said yes it is and guess what happened the call hanged up so supposedly he was going to call back but I guess he fell asleep on the job. So I called a taxi but what was the difference if it costed the same as a plane ticket $400 to Roanoke. So if you want to get ripped off and not get your money back then Expedia is the site. Oh yea I’m still waiting on that refund.

I booked 3 flights through this company and spent 2 hours on the phone to do so. Then when I log on to the app it only shows two of the three flights I paid for . At that point I called customer service to see what is going on and they informed me that my information was sent to a different email address that they don’t have access to . Then I asked if they could go and change it to put my information so I don’t have to worry about my information being out there in the crazy cyber world that we are in today. Were people’s information is being stolen left and right . These people had the audacity to tell me that there is nothing ANYONE in their company can do for me so basically I just have to deal with my information being out there in someone’s email address that only God know who has access to and can do whatever they want with my information and I probably will not find out until it’s to late . this was all caused by a glitch in there system, so my real question is what other types of glitches are in there system that is sending there customer information around . How secure can this big company be if this is the case . How can you care for your customer if you have systems that “will not allow you to do so” I would never book another flight though this so called company !! This is just ridiculous!!

I recently booked a trip through Expedia, I travelled from Grand Cayman to Thailand then 3 days before my return found out that Emirate airlines had cancelled the flights to return me to my home. Expedia did nothing to assist with my problems with returning home instead I paid them an additional $3500 usd for new flights to get home and made the request for my money to be refunded for the cancelled flights FYI I had also paid Expedia for flight insurance for my trip. I have now been home for 4 weeks Expedia have now told me I won’t be getting any refund they also refuse to reply to any of my emails their chat support constantly tells you they don’t have any agents available. I have also tried calling several times being put on hold for 2 hours each time and having to hang up as my mobile phone is about to explode because of the heat. I honestly believe that due the circumstances we currently find ourselves in that not too many people are currently booking flights and hotels which means Expedia staff can’t possibly be that busy and are blissfully ignoring their responsibilities to their customers. I tried to make a reservation today for family vacations and when I tried to hit confirm after I put all my info I got a sign that says ERROR, so logically I tried again and I got the same message again. I did not get confirmation from Expedia or booking details of course. Then I see in my bank account 4 pending transactions from Them. I called the bank to tell them this was canceled and did not get any confirmation from Expedia but bank says is all approved on their end and as far as they know nothing is canceled and I’m being charged for that. To make story short, after 1 hour and 30 minutes in the phone with bank and Expedia I’m still being charged even Expedia supervisor says is canceled they are not able to give me a cancelation number or anything that I can show the bank as a proof of canceled transaction. They said may take 3-5 business day to get my money back, that means now I cannot book my vacations cause they are holding my money and I don’t have enough left on my credit card. Customer service is a shame, the money on hold is even more than the total amount of the trip when I asked how is this possible to supervisor couldn’t even tell me why. I will never book anything through Expedia again. They are a shame and taking people’s money even when it says error on the screen. SCAM!!!!!

I have used Expedia for years and always raves about how easy and reliable it is but lately everything about the app, service and customer service live abs virtual is horrible. I feel like it’s all a scam. I have multiple air credits due to Covid and have tried to redeem them. I get confirmations that my flight is booked and thank god I double check everything because all of the sudden my tickets are cancelled and my credits are missing. When I used virtual assist they pull up all these travel itineraries to other countries that I never reserved. When I speak to a live customer service rep they barely understand English. Tell me my credits don’t exist even though they were on my app and I have confirmation emails. Then they tell me to call the airline directly. Keep me on hold for an hour while they say they are reviewing my info. I call the airline directly and they say to contact Expedia because Expedia never sent my payment and credits. In addition they charged my credit cards for the overage cost. Still no credit for that. From now on I will book directly with the airline. Have had perfect service from them and my credits exist and easy to use. Expedia seems like crooks at this point. If it was just one time I would think it was a mistake but this happened 3 times.

I have been traveling all day after reaching the hotel they told me there is no booking under my name! I contacted Expedia to solve my issue, unfortunately, they did the opposite by not giving me any solutions and telling me there was overbooking and the hotel cannot accept you, it is not the customer problem that your system is bad to show availability and there isn't ! I am expecting to reach the hotel and find my room ready not solving your problems. Not only I spoke with one agent But 4 agents all of them were uncooperative, rude, and they just put me on hold, then they hang up! I spent 2 and half hours on the phone which was an overseas call which coasted me a lot of money without any solution or at least offering anything for your mistake. I have been an Expedia customer for 5+ years with gold, silver, and blue membership but after what I have experienced this week this will be my last time using this platform, I am still waiting for my hotel refund which they told me I will collect within 2 days and now we reached the 6th day without any refund. Learn how to treat your customers not telling them there is nothing we can do to you! You have a problem with your system you solve it don't expect your customers to do it for you! Worst traveling experience ever and surely worst customer service!

This is the only forum I see to speak about an experience with Expedia. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, buyer beware. Purchase direct from the airline. Plenty of 5-star plant-reviews here as well I suspect. Expedia changed my flight, no reason, said the airline did it. They gave me no updates and could not give me a firm date when they say they notified me. Customer service is in India or Pakistan and you’ll be on hold for 1.5-2 hours. At one point she has gall to tell me I was notified at 1:20AM. It is 2-something in the morning and I’ve been on hold since 12AM. I check my email, it’s a confirmation of my trip with the new times as if I JUST purchased it. No old times and confirming a change. Had I not looked up my flight, assuming I had 20 hours left until check in, I would have missed my flight. Instead, I’m up all night trying to remedy this with no solution, scrambling to find work coverage and finish packing. So they say it was the airlines fault, airline says it’s Expedia. Not the first time. I’m done booking through agencies like this. You really don’t save anything price wise through these services Find the ticket you want and book through the airline. If you want the worst room a hotel won’t give to normal customers, use Expedia or a middleman ap. Better to cut them out of the picture.

There are a lot of 1 star reviews for this app. I know 1 star is harsh but Expedia really makes traveling even MORE difficult than it already is. If you’re looking at hotels on this website, you’ll see there are a list of places the hotel is close to. For example, 4 minutes from airport, or 5 minutes from beach. In the 3 hotels I’ve booked through Expedia all of what they say the hotel is close to and how far away these places they’ve listed are is completely inaccurate. My second complaint is not about the website but about the agents I speak to over the phone. As a 3rd party booker they should be making things very clear but instead they leave out really important information BEFORE PAYING (example, what I’m paying for is NON REFUNDABLE) that they claim they DON’T have to tell me before I pay because “I should know” but if I was an expert at booking trips and I knew all these things off the top of my head that they claim I should know, I wouldn’t go through Expedia in the first place and would book straight through the airline or hotel. This is definitely the last time I’m using Expedia. I’m so upset I have 2 upcoming reservations I booked through Expedia. I’m hoping the hotel is what it seems like online but I am not counting on that. Like another review says, BYE EXPEDIA!

We had a trip planned and needed to change flights during this COVID-19 mess. I attempted to change the flights on the app...no luck even though the app showed a significant amount of savings. I waited on the phone for hours into the wee hours of the morning only to have the system hang up on me. After another 4 hours of holding I finally got an agent, they changed the flight and acknowledged the price difference, but said that the airline was charging change and exchange fees and while there was no additional cost , there was no surplus because that surplus covered all the fees. There was a $1,300 difference! So I told the agent on the phone that I would contact the airline because all fees were supposed to be waived. The Expedia agent forbid me to call the airline and assured me that the airline was charging the fees. Well.... I called the airline anyway. They were completely and totally shocked that Expedia would say that fees were being charged. It angered the airline so much that they gave me vouchers for the difference in flights and the airline agent took the time to rebook the flights to pull my itinerary from Expedia’s control. The airline was livid. I learned a valuable lesson.....always book direct with the airline and never use Expedia. Necer again Expedia, never again.

Update: They never update this App in the way they need to. Please read below. Honestly it’s frustrating how they organize it. At this point, I’m going start using Booking. I only use the App for hotels. Their changes to “Trips” is too confusing now. It used to show hotels and flights reserved in chronological order. Now they’ve put so many other things in it, it useless and confusing. I keep going to the wrong hotels. The way the App works makes it easy to screw up a reservation. I meant to book a flight for my wife and because the App is so speedy my name went on the ticket. I couldn't change the ticket name once the error was found. At least a website is step-by-step eliminating errors. Then there is the issue of queen and double beds with hotel rooms. There have been so many instances where the hotels say I reserved a double bed room. :( Booking airline flights is a headache now. First of all not all airlines are listed on Expedia, resulting on it being better to go onto other travel websites. Then the website recommends using unpractical flights. For instance a short 1 hour flight can turn into a 10+ hours flight just to get cheaper airfare. At this point I've taken to using other websites for travel

Expedia is possibly the worse to book a flight with. We paid two tickets including seating AND checked bags. I call customer service since on my email confirmation I was not showing any details about my seating as well as my checked bags. I called the first rep told me that I had not paid for them that I had to pay for them through the airline. I then requested to speak with a supervisor and I was advised I would get a call back in 15 min. I then wait one hour and call back and then finally get transferred to a supervisor who kept placing me on very long holds which resulted one hour on the phone. Finally the supervisor then tells me that they have no record of me paying for the checked bags AND that they don’t offer to purchase checked bags or choose seats on their app. I told him that they do because I myself purchased the seats as well as the checked bags through them and my total balance was sky rocket high !! The supervisor does NOTHING to try and help me with this issue. I have seen on previous reviews where they have also been over charged as well. I guess it was also my fault for not checking the reviews. But to end this review DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA!!! They change the price way higher and then claim that they aren’t showing nothing in their system.

Expedia and the hillside inn. I called and asked for a refund because our car broke down and we were never able to make it. The trip was for my 8 year old whom had a birthday that day and it was ruined. I’ve called and asked politely if I could receive a refund or my money back for the room and no one has contacted me or spoke to me since my calls. They won’t reply to email and a manager never got back with me to try and help me out. We’ve stayed here a couple times and I’m very disappointed that no one who works for Expedia or the hotel never contacted me. The costumers always right. That was an 8 year olds birthday money wasted for a trip that she never was able to enjoy. Honestly if you are a hotel that says that they would lose money because they could of booked the room to someone else. I’m sorry but if you are making that much money because the hotel is booked then why can’t they simply give me something that is still rightfully mine. I just want and need something that should be respectfully mine and my daughter.

We spent last weekend at Hilton Fortlauderdale Marina. We booked a high floor water view room which was supposedly facing the pool and the marina area according to the picture on EXPEDIA. We paid double price than a standard room to get this one because we liked the view it supposedly had. We asked the front desk manager to change our room since it was NOT what we bought. She said it was a “high floor water view room” and they were not able to change it because the hotel was completely booked and they had no more availability. I called EXPEDIA and sent them pictures of my balcony view with was NOTHING to do with the ones EXPEDIA has on their website. They took 3 days to give me an answer and the best they can do is a $25 bonus 😒 Are you serious man? I paid 2 times the prices of a standard room because we wanted to have the SAME VIEW you advertise NOT for a crappie view facing the streets 😡 Imagine buying a t-shirt online and you get a blouse. Do you get me? This is so unprofessional, you are lying to people and playing with people’s money. GO AND UPDATE YOUR PICTURES AND DO A GOOD JOB. People want what they buy NOT a completely different product. You have to be careful with what you book guys. Pictures are not accurate. I wish I could give you cero star but it’s not possible.

Perfect place to stay if you enjoy easy access to the marina and the beach. It is a small and quiet resort. Which we like because we go as a family and not the party scene. Which was cool for us 20 years ago ;) Service staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is trying to sign us up for the marketing sales pitch at their sister resort as soon as we checked in. When we politely said no, the front sales staff became rude and wouldn’t acknowledge us the entire week we were there. Not a biggie, but it’s polite to at least say hello or good after afternoon when passing by. What they forget to tell you is you can still go to the sister resort 10 mins away and enjoy the luxurious pools and view and also includes the all inclusive if you have that package. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We also didn’t need the sales pitch for discounts on activities. We met a very nice young man at the marina who took great care of us setting up the clear fiberglass boat and the dolphins experience.

I wouldn’t even give a star but I have to pick something. I booked a hotel with the app and chose the next day and check out the day after that. I paid the $1 to cover any problems if we had to cancel. Then when I went to cancel the day after booking which would have been the day we checked in later I was told that I couldn’t get my money back because I booked it for the day before. I triple checked the dates I entered and even hit the dates on the calendar for that Friday and check out Saturday. But they said I can’t get my money back because I was a no show. Yea because I booked it for the day after not the same day I submitted the booking. I am very disappointed in Expedia and their site and will never be using them again. Which is disappointing because we will need to book lots of hotels coming up due to our baby needing surgeries further from home and lots of appointments where it will be easier to get a hotel the night before. You lost lots of business from us. So anyone using this app or Expedia make sure when you book and get confirmation that it shows the correct dates because otherwise you will get screwed out of money. We lost almost $200 because of them when we could use that money for our baby’s doctor bills.

I highly recommend just using this app to strictly compare prices (kayak and hopper are also great apps for this and hopper has cheaper flights than any other place I’ve found). This is the second time booking my flight through Expedia. The first time was not that bad. This time though I had to do schedule changes for my flight. I called Expedia twice. They explained to me that they had a fee of about $90 to change the date (no biggie I understand) and that I had to pay the difference in price (again understandable) my ticket originally cost $340 and I looked up online how much of a difference it would be to estimate about how much I would be paying which was roughly $200 in total. I called the first time and I gave them specific flight numbers and time to make their job a bit easier, and the end result they were asking for was $800 which is a little over the top. I didn’t want to pay that much so I hung up and called again with in seconds to double check. And once I gave the exact information and everything the end amount was $1000 ???!! I understand that prices fluctuated but that was crazy. So I cut out the middle man (Expedia) and called the airline and ended up changing the dates for just $215.

I have loved Expedia since I started traveling on my own and the checkout process is always easy for me. Overall the app is decent and could use a few more features. For example when searching for an all inclusive on the website you can filter that option but in the app you must scroll through all hotels, motels and resorts. Also, I wish that you didn’t have to specifically search from one airport. The app states that it’s to help you find the best deal but to me the best deal would be found by checking all available airports that I am willing to travel to without having to research and put back in all of my filters every time. Also, they claim that it is cheaper to book through the app but I have always found that the better bundles are found on the website. It would also be nice if there was an “availability calendar” like on some other sights where you can see how much cheaper it would be to stay a different night. Another feature that would interest me is being able to search an entire country as your destination to try to find new and cool places to stay in a specific country.
Beautiful Resort

We went for a weekend getaway to Hilton Head in January and decided to stay at Omni Resort. It was a wonderful experience! Our room was spacious, very clean and the best thing is-it had a kitchenette. It also had two bathroom vanities, separated by one being inside a bathroom and one on the outside of bathroom. Our room had ocean view with a balcony. But the best part was the pools and two hot tubs! The pools were heated and super warm. The outside bar (closed for the season) and bathrooms were conveniently close. You could rent bikes right there at the pool area if you wanted to. In the evenings, we sat by a beautiful built-in gas fire pit surrounded by many chairs. There were a few fire pits through the resort. Also, there were many other activities that you could do for entertaining—large chess in the grass, bean bag toss, etc. A beautiful restaurant was on site as well, even though we didn’t end up eating there. The overall experience at Omni Resort was a pleasure, and we’d highly recommend it.

Do Not Use GreenMotion Rental agency. We rented a car from this company several weeks in advance. I called two days before to verify rental. Upon calling placed on hold. They said 4 callers ahead of me. I waited. The waiting machine told me 20 minutes. 1 hour and 10 minutes later I finally got the phone to ring. It rang twice. The the call ended. I called back and went into the waiting line once again. This time it was connected to an “agent”. He guaranteed me my rental was good and ended the call. The day of my trip my plane landed and I called the company. They told me to proceed to the off site rental area. We did this and waited with another group waiting for the same company. As other agencies came and went we soon realized we were in trouble. We called and received an answer. The agent asked if this was for Miami, some other place and Ft Lauderdale. It said Ft Lauderdale. The caller then transferred my called and the call ended once again. I would eventually get through. They told me they would contact the driver and he’d be on his way. We kept calling and received no more answers. Finally a fellow rental agency called the “the driver”. We were then told the agency was closed and they would not be coming. We called and waited for 45minutes to an hour. Do not use GREENMOTION

I’ve used Expedia for over 10 years faithfully. In March 2021 I booked a two night stay at a hotel in Satellite Beach, FL and upon arrival found bed bugs and or bodily fluid stains covering beds in a very unsanitary hotel, “Americas Best Value Inn Satelite Beach”. I called Expedia and explained situation to agent and he assured me that the second night would be refunded by Expedia but that I would have to work with the hotel for a refund of the first night which I attempted to do only to have the owner or manager tell me to never come back to his hotel and then he hung up on me before I could say anything. Now I receive an email from Expedia saying that they are not refunding me anything and that it was never promised. This is not only a lie but it is also against there refund policy. At worst I would only pay for the first night stay if cancelled after 3 PM on the first day. However in this situation I of course was not going to sleep in a bed that was unsanitary with bed bug stains and or bodily fluid stains (especially during a pandemic), of which I took numerous pictures of and sent them to both Expedia and the hotel manager or owner. Note that the hotel switched my first room with another room in which I found the exact same conditions on the bed which I also took pictures of.

This was the worst experience of my life. First it was a glitch in the system after booking through my Expedia account/app which I’ve had for years. There was a (unknown) woman’s name on my account/app and the same name was on my hotel reservation after I booked and payed. After going back and forth clearing that up (with Expedia) I decided to cancel the booking because of the inconvenience and (what I felt was a possible breach of my personal information). I did this the same day. Expedia told me that they wouldn’t charge me for my cancelation but to check with the hotel to see what their charges were. I called the hotel and the manager promised me that I wouldn’t be charged. So I hung up with the hotel and called Expedia back to cancel. After canceling I received a email (from Expedia) explaining that the hotel charged me a fee ($468). So immediately called the hotel to talk to the person that promised me that I wouldn’t be charged. He explained that they never received a payment and that Expedia has the funds. This all happened within a few hours (of booking and the complications) now Expedia doesn’t recognize my itinerary number because I just canceled and I can’t get through to a representative. I will never do business with this company again.

Well first I came into Hertz from a third party (Expedia) and thought I had already paid for it, as well as paid for extended collision insurance. No that’s not the what happened! I knew I had to show license and proof of insurance but had to rescan my card and add $32 per day for the extended insurance. Not the $10 a day that the website said! Ok I guess I should be so surprised! Now I am told to go out to zone 2 and pick any car from that area. I am intercepted by an employee that looks at my paperwork and sends me over to where they are cleaning and taking back other car’s! I go over to where she sent me and another girl grabs my paperwork and throws it in the trash! God I was so mad! I then grab the paperwork out of the trash ask another man where I should go to get my car and he points back to where I first came from. I decided to just jump in the first car in that area that had a 2 on the sign. By then all the people that where standing in line in back of me were getting into the cars and ended up with what was left. It was not a smooth experience at all! Poor actually I would say! Train your employees please! We are your customers and it is how you get paid!

I used this app for the first time this year. I had several issues with it that resulted in lowering my rating. First, I booked my trips on the website, then downloaded the app. Not all of my reservations loaded in the app and it appeared to be due to the auto-generated email address the app created for me. I couldn’t get any reservations made under my real email address to convert to the app. Second, I needed to update/cancel a booking on two different occasions. Anytime I attempted through the app I received a notice that the service was down and the request couldn’t be completed. I had to use the website to actually manage the bookings, which is counterintuitive. Finally, I stayed in two very poor hotels and wanted to give reviews. The app generates a link to use when reviewing. However, it’s not a hyperlink so you have to cut and paste into your browser. I attempted this multiple times, only to be told the link wasn’t legitimate. - I’ve traveled extensively throughout the world and this was the first time I’ve ever used Expedia. I believe other sites/apps are easier and don’t expect to use them again.

Be careful! I needed to change my itinerary a couple of times on the website in the same evening and hit the “change itinerary” button under the one I had booked. A message came up that said, “search for a new flight“. Long story short, instead of changing my itinerary it created two new ones, and I ended up booking three flights for the same day! When I discovered this I called customer service, and they kept saying they needed to have a supervisor call me back. They assured me a supervisor would call me back. No one ever has. I have been working on this for 4 to 5 days now. I have made numerous calls, and I’m always assured someone will call me back to help me with the issue. Expedia will not refund my money, but will only offer a flight credit, which a SUPERVISOR will supposedly issue when they call me back. I am sick of going round and round in this loop with Expedia, who used to have excellent customer service. Not anymore! I will think twice before ever using them again after this fiasco. No refund of hundreds of dollars for 2 unusable flights, thanks to their app either glitching or misleading. It is unfortunate I didn’t catch it sooner, but in my opinion this is on them.

I am not pleased with Expedia. I scheduled a rental car and did not get collision coverage. I received an email telling new it’s not too late to add it in. I clicked the button and tried 5+ times to add it but it kept saying “sorry please try again later”. I tried to add it directly on the app and same thing. I called and was given another number to call. Called that number and was given a third number. I called 3rd number and spoke to someone and they transferred me. I was on hold 20 min and had to hang up because I had somewhere to be and was already running late from over an hour being tossed around. My husband said “it’s fine, it says on the email you can add it when you pick the car up”. I just picked the car up and Budget said they could not honor the $10/day rate, that’s thru Expedia. I called the 3rd number again and the gentleman from the insurance agency said it could only be authorized by an Expedia supervisor. He had no authority and no back door access. Needless to say I did not pay the $30/day collision coverage thru budget. I WILL NOT GO THRU EXPEDIA AGAIN. My time is valuable and I don’t like being treated this way. Lost a hotel night

I booked two hotel nights however when we realized that our arrival time put us after the closing for the car rental we called Expedia to see if we could make a change. I spoke to the Expedia representative, she informed me my booking was nonrefundable, but she would call the hotel and ask if they would give permission to make the change. She made the call, said the hotel gave the permission and for me to call the hotel to confirm; which I did. The Expedia rep told me I just needed to get a receipt from the hotel to show I was there for one night and submit it upon my return for reimbursement of this single day. Once the OK was given by Expedia and the hotel to change the booking to one night I made a reservation for a hotel across the street from the airport. We arrived at the Expedia hotel the following day and when it came to checking out and I asked for a receipt and they said that needed to be obtained from Expedia since I booked through them. I called Expedia and, of course, spoke to another rep who informed me my booking was nonrefundable. I explained the above and he gave me, essentially, a verbal shrug of the shoulders and that was that – no reimbursement, and no recourse, no use of Expedia in the future.

At 11:15pm, I made a reservation through Expedia for a motel room for my son in Escondido, California. Five minutes later he called me to tell me his truck broke down and he couldn’t make it. I immediately called Quality Inn and told them to cancel the reservation. When I asked them to please refund my card - it’s amazing how fast Expedia charges your card!! - they informed me they couldn’t do that as only Expedia could! Within 10 minutes, I called Expedia and was told I’d be refunded by 9am! That was March 22, it’s now April 27,2020! After 30+ phone calls and emails, they have both lied to me over & over! The motel says only Expedia can refund me, Expedia says the motel won’t authorize it, and the manager says they-Expedia-aren’t telling the truth! Now the last excuse from the supervisor at Expedia is that the hotel charged them, therefore they can’t refund me!!!! Many calls to Expedia had me waiting 20-30 min. Only to be discontinued! Most of their phone employees don’t speak English enough to easily understand them and I had to ask them to repeat and repeat! It’s not so much about the money but the principal!! Their website says Free Cancellations!!!This is the most unethical company and I, and all my friends, will never use them again!!!!

I booked a room thru Expedia and when I checked in it doesn’t show that I paid. I had to pay for the room again. I was told by the receptionist this happens all the time with Expedia. They said I have to call Expedia myself. I tried to get some help thru the app and the “virtual chat” is soo useless and just a waste of time. It repeatedly asks for my itinerary number, my cell number, last 4 digits of credit card and still it can’t help me. Someone alive finally came into the conversation and then I waited for another 10 minutes while it figures out my problem it replied “I can see we got disconnected”!!!!! I called the number I was given and it says “we’re not available at this time’ Then I called back after an hour and while I was entering my itinerary number, it said “you waited too long to answer” and it hang up on me. I tried calling back again today, I was on hold for 1 hour and 3 minutes and when someone came on the line I asked him kindly to call me back if we get disconnected since I’ve been on hold for an hour but sure enough we got disconnected and I didn’t get a call back. EXPEDIA is so frustrating. I will never book with them again. Their customer support is very poor, if any!

I would have left a zero star if possible. My wife typed in the search bar for flights from Philadelphia “PHL” to Atlanta “ATL”. She booked a flight and after printing the ticket she noticed the first flight was from Trenton NJ. She called and explained the situation and they still charged us $109 to change the ticket. She obviously explained that a flight from Trenton should have never shown up in a search from Philly. Not to mention why would anyone park at one airport then return to another? That’s ridiculous! They refused to make good on their search engine mistake. Trenton should’ve never been included in Philly flights. I have used Expedia quite a bit but will NEVER EVER use them again. What happened to the days of “the customer is always right”? By the way they did the same search as she did and saw that Trenton came up and admitted it shouldn’t have. Then the Superviser lies through his teeth and told her “we can see here that you did indeed type in and search for Trenton flights as well!!! Why the hell would anyone flying out of Philly search for Trenton flights then fly back to Philly. They literally lied through their teeth! Dishonest and disgraceful! You should be ashamed Expedia!!!!!! We’ll be using Kayak from now on.

I recently found out I tested positive for COVID. So I called to cancel a flight reservation that I made through Expedia on Delta. Since it was a basic reservation with no “travel insurance” (what a scam that is) they screwed me out of $384, even though I could prove COVID easily with my test results, and I wasn't randomly canceling my flight. The best they had for me was call Delta who of course after 2 hours on hold said call Expedia. This really shows what kind of company Expedia is. Even in the worst pandemic in 100 years, if they can stick it to you they will, COVID or not. I’ve used them for many years and as they got bigger, they got worse. At this point I don’t see that Expedia brings any value to the table, and I will never use them again. I’m vaccinated and I most likely have the Delta variant of COVID. The effect is like a bad cold, I could probably travel and get away with it. I presume that going forward my situation will not be that unusual. I’ve chosen to do the right thing anyway even at the cost of the ticket, sadly Expedia isn't capable of doing the right thing. Had I booked directly with Delta I could have canceled for COVID. Do yourself a favor, go to the airlines directly cut Expedia out of the picture.
CANCEL FLIGHTS!!

I’ve been calling, using the app, filling out forms and no one is able to give me a call back or answer my request to cancel my flight which is today. I understand that with the ban to travel to Europe there’s a surge of cancellations. However, Expedia is deliberately trying to not answer customers by hanging up on them and making us fill out forms for cancellations, which can take up to 14 days. All communications with this company are nonexistent . Been calling since I found out about the ban, even though in their website it advertises that you should call if your trip is within 7 days. I call, provide my itinerary number, places me on hold, and after 2 songs on the line, they hang up on me even before answering. With the itinerary number and date of travel that they ask, all customers who have flights today should have been answered and filtered out to provide assistance. Meanwhile, other flight companies like delta or answering their customers in less than 20 min!!! Never again booking with this company! Lesson learned. I’m sure other customers agree- just look at the comments of desperate people on their social media pages trying to get some assistance.
Canceled flights and empty promises

We recently book 5 international flight tickets through Expedia on Virgin Atlantic. Virgin canceled one leg of our trip from San Francisco to Johannesburg. The 1st leg from SFO to London was canceled. I received an email notice from Expedia after which I contacted the customer care number being a Gold member for years now expecting a smooth solution to the problem. After multiple calls spending more than 7 hours on the phone and being promised every time that our case is in good hands and that Expedia will send us email confirmation informing us about an alternative solution. I’m still waiting and did not receive any emails with alternative solutions to our canceled flight. The only email I did receive was confirmation of the cancellation of our bookings after my call with a representative today. Very disappointed in the way our case was handled, the empty promises by representatives with no solution to our canceled flight.

Be really careful and think before using Expedia to book something, I planned and booked a whole trip with Expedia spending around $10,000 between flights, hotels and activities, one of the days I arrived to Rome and I went to check my email confirmation to call the hotel/property phone number and the answer that they where not partnered with Expedia anymore so I spent another 4 hours!!! Talking to their representatives repeating the information over and over again, talked to supervisors, managers and they allocation department which where trying to charge me for another place!!! I keep calling and calling them and nobody helped! The call keep failing or disconnecting, I don't know if they do it to get out of the hook but they never returned the call that obviously they have my phone number on file, so I ended walking at 1 in the morning with my family looking for another place to sleep with no battery in my phone to call them again after 4 hours with them! Also when you reserve a rental car Do Not Use their insurance because when you get to the rental place the companies say they don’t accept Expedia insurance and Expedia won’t reimburse for what you paid of their insurance!

Words simply cannot explain how irritated I am with EXPEDIA . I booked a room and was charged for it. As I pulled up to the hotel I received a call from the receptionist at the hotel telling me that there were no rooms available and they didn’t t know why Expedia booked me. I immediately called Expedia and I was put on hold for more than 50 minutes at least 3 times. This was a Saturday night. When I did get someone on the line, the kept telling me that they had to call the hotel to see if I could be refunded my money. Simply giving me the run around. It wasn’t until the following Monday that someone told me I would be refunded but it would take 7 days and it wouldn’t be the whole amount . I was like Hell No, I want my money back immediately. Why can’t people do the right thing???? Why do they Nickel and dime people. I will NEVER use this company again. It is so disrespectful to leave people on hold for a long period of time hoping they will hang up. This is so wrong and extremely unprofessional. STOP TAKING PEOPLE’s Money if you aren’t going to go over and beyond to make sure they are accommodated and treated with the utmost respect. Unacceptable! I will do everything I can to spread the word about this company.
Frontier Airlines selling tickets to destinations that don’t exist

I went through to get airline tickets to Guadalajara Mexico. Through frontier Airlines. Purchased a ticket to fly 1140 P.m. they use third-party third-party for the flight “Volaris.” So when we got to the air had no flight going to Guadalajara. So Frontier try to book flight the next night to go Guadalajara. Same time One day later. Check with Volaris they had no flights The next night to Guadalajara. Frontier Airlines are selling tickets for flights that don’t exist. This was was it a important flight so we can receive grandmas body that was being flown to Guadalajara. So you can see why we are so upset with this problem. Expedia need to re-consider using frontier Airlines. I’ve used Expedia all the time. This experience has been so bad. Right now The way I feel I don’t know if I want use Expedia again. I hope to frontier Airlines sailing practice. And straighten it out or quit promoting flight through Frontier Airlines.
My mom waiting in airport for 6 hours

We bought a ticket from Orange County ti Evansville with an hour stop in Chicago. First the flight was delayed an hour in Orange County , of course arrived half hour late at O’Hara’s, so the people missed the plane to Evansville. My mom wasn’t informed about this by crew , one of the passengers told my mom about this so he went and found out the next plane was at 9;50 pm . So my mom helped by this passenger was waiting fir the plane but then she was moved to another flight an hour later. My mom was upset because all the wait and changes and the fact that we were waiting at Evansville at 5 in the afternoon according to the ticket we bought . It’s the second time that American Airlines does this uncalled and don’t care about costumer imposition. We were waiting my mom for hours and had to paid taxi for that many hours, we live two hours from airport. I tried to talk on the phone with supervisor he told my mom that was personal , he wouldn’t talk to me . My mom is 73 has to use restroom many times, she was hungry and cold waiting in airport fir more than 6 hours ......now them just told my mom they re canceling the flight again .... wth please a supervisor on any help in O’Hara’s airport
Not able to even SEARCH for a hotel after midnight

I usually swear by this app and have used it quite a lot, and told my husband to use it going across country, and tell everyone else to use it, too. But right now I need a hotel for TONIGHT after midnight and it won’t even LET me put tonight’s date in! If the hotels won’t allow me to book, that is one thing, and not in the control of the app. Let me find that out when I put the date in and then nothing comes up. Now I have no idea how I will even LOOK for something. Totally ridiculous. If the only response from Expedia customer service is going to be that no hotel will be available so therefore you didn't think there was a point to have that option be available, or if the response will be anything other than that this ridiculous policy/dumb mistake that that the app developers made will be changed please don’t insult me with a ‘response’. Keep it to yourselves.

I kept getting phone calls from an Arizona phone number that I ignored bc I don’t know anyone in AZ. When I called the numbers back, the calls would not go through. I also received emails from an email address that was different from my initial confirmation email and contained a different phone number than what’s on Expedia’s webpage. When I called the number on the Expedia site, they initially told me that everything was fine. But after checking with the airlines, it seems that one of my flights couldn’t be booked bc of missing information. (Missing info was birthday.....that was submitted during purchase and stored in my profile on Expedia). Weird that one flight was booked/confirmed with no issue and the return flight couldn’t be ticketed bc of that. Unfortunately the airline couldn’t complete the booking and I had to call Expedia again for assistance. I spent at least an hour on the phone with Expedia today. And come to find out that whoever booked our flights didn’t have enough common sense to book my toddler in a seat next to me. So I’m still waiting for the return flight to be ticketed so I can try to change seats. Never again Expedia.

Let me just say how fantastic the staff of the Hyatt Centric were! My wife and daughter flew from the states overnight on Delta and arrived at the hotel around 8:30 a.m. Hyatt employee Caleb spoke to my wife and let her know that the room was not ready till a bit later. He was able to work his magic and got my wife and 10 year old daughter into their room a bit earlier than that. I was going to Join them in the morning later traveling from Dublin. Upon my arrival at the hotel I was greeted by Catiana. She was so welcoming and provided me with a warm and welcoming experience. Check in went very smoothly and I met up with my family. During our stay, the front desk was fabulous with directions, tour bookings and general recommendations for the area. The hotel is brand new, and has comfortable accommodations and nicely appointed amenities. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants an American style stay in Europe.
Family trip gone wrong and then made right

After going on our first family trip to universal studios Orlando we tried to save money and purchase tickets through Expedia.. unfortunately the purchase was made for universal Hollywood... After freaking out because the purchase was over $$900 and they informed me there was a strict no refund policy I really was devastated... We were able to come up with the funds to enter Orlando but we were out the $900... After communicating with supervisor after supervisor they were able to contact Hollywood and ask for a refund. .. it took a few weeks but I was refunded the entire amount and they kept in contact with me throughout the entire process.. I'm definitely extremely grateful they went the extra mile to make that happen..I have a large family and we saved up for that family vacation for a while .. We will definitely be using Expedia again because the customer service was great!

I have spent a great deal of travel money through Expedia, but their current level of service is abominable. If I could give a rating below one star I would. In April I discovered I have colon cancer. I immediately had surgery followed by chemo. I had planned a fishing trip to Alaska with my granddaughter and made a reservation through Expedia for two rooms at hotel near the airport. My chemo experience has been devastating and I had to cancel the trip - the fishing lodge and Alaska Airlines were most accomodating, refunding my fare on short notice. Money- grubbing Expedia is another story, even though I purchased their trip insurance. I could not find a human with whom to explain my predicament, but was shunted to a "virtual agent" who texted that even though I had trip insurance, more than a week prior to the reservation was to late to cancel, for any reason - cancer isn't good enough. I wasn't even referred to love agent to chat, all I got were canned answer, or "I don't understand" then I was cut off. If only a few of you take this message to heart, it will cause this cold, rapacious business far more than the cost my rooms. I travel alot, but will never use Expedia again
Horrible Customer Experience

I'm fuming right now after using this app. I've used it many times before and never had so much trouble but I'm feeling livid this time around. I tried booking a trip and received the error "We're unable to complete your booking. Please wait a moment and try again". No reason for what's going on just try again. Fine. Only I checked my bank account and have instant charges from Delta Airlines with no ticket or confirmation of successful purchase to go with it. The charge is only for one of 3 tickets, so that's also concerning. I tried calling customer service many times but there is no getting past their terrible robot costumer service without a booking number. None was ever issued. If we're far along enough in the process for you to charge me random amounts, you need to let me call you or ask someone what's going on. I 'waited a moment and tried again' and the same thing happened all over again. I kept an eye out for a booking number, other customer service option, and I'm sitting here with no idea how to fix this situation short of calling my bank. Terrible customer experience. I'm done with Expedia.

Let me start this off that I’ve used Expedia for years with no issues. Well last night was the worst nightmare for my mom and I. We were flying out of Newark to London, going through IcelandAir. I booked our flight back in May. When we went to get checked in and get our boarding passes, they said I was good, but when they scanned my moms passport, it came up that her e-ticket number was invalid and flagged…. Then we had to go aside and call the airline and Expedia. IcelandAir couldn’t look at our details as it wasn’t booked through them, they told me that I had to call Expedia. Well Expedia tried telling me to call IcelandAir… I told them that it was their mess and fault that we were in this situation and that they better fix it as we had reservations made in England! Essentially they told us that we couldn’t fix it, even though it was THERE fault! There was a woman behind us with two twin girls that ran into the same exact issue! So note in advance, if your looking for an international trip, DON’T book with Expedia, go through either the airline itself or a travel agency. This is a huge scam that they do to try and make more money.
Hotel reservations

Went to reserve a hotel room. I put all the information that it needed, which meant my credit card. It charged me and everything. Then the app quit working and it didn’t give me a itinerary number or anything. So I called Expedia and explain to them that you charge me and that I got no itinerary number or a receipt saying that my room was reserved. The guy did not understand at all. He kept asking me if I wanted an upgrade and I said no I don’t want a upgrade you charge me for a room that I didn’t get The guy went on telling me there was nothing for him to do. I told him okay then I want my money back cause you charge me twice which I saw in my bank account. He told me I had to call my bank and figure it out. I am not going to call my bank for something you did. So after fighting over the phone with him for about 10 minutes about how he couldn’t do anything, he finally said that those 2 charges will be in my back on my card in 24 hours to about 48 hours. I will not be reserving anything off of Expedia again. I understand that the app will sometimes freeze, but when it does, they need to have better costumer support and not tell me to fix the mistakes they made.
