I just booked a flight from Ewr to PBI, I was sold an upgrade so I could choose seats on the United flight. When I went to United site they wanted to charge additional fee! When I called Expedia, the answer I got was “we are sorry the seat selection is for 24hrs in advance of the flight!!! Expedia is becoming worthless!

A really inadequate app (for iPhone). Only offers a handful of the filtering criteria for that are available on the regular site. So inadequate as to be nearly worthless.

According to our app we were checked in for our flight and when we called Expedia customer service to dispute our issue after being laughed at by the airline, we got hung up on and had to argue with not one but 3 customer service representatives and their supervisors. We ended up having to spend double and missed an entire day of our vacation due to their lack of quality customer service to be treated like a fool when the error was their’s. I will be disputing all charges from this site and I have video of two different supervisors refusing to help in any way shape or form. They refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. It almost ruined our entire vacation because it literally drained us of all of our funds for this trip to Chicago as a gift from my fiancé after experiencing dying with our son and both of us surviving... thanks Expedia for making my anxiety worse and making me feel like an idiot for finally leaving my house. Wish I would’ve googled all the class action lawsuits you’re already undertaking before using your services. Thankfully these videos will help my case to get my money back. Something tells me what was said goes against your terms and conditions. I’ll have my lawyer do all the detail work. I hope your business goes as well as the beginning and end of our trip. Your business is stealing money, and it’s not appreciated.

Cannot filter by customer rating, cannot filter by distance from an address, cannot filter by some popular amenities for hotels (gym, breakfast included, free wifi, etc). How is this app still the most popular (other than they own most of the competition)?

I’ve used Expedia multiple times for booking flights and I always purchase the flight protection which apparently guaranteed my money back if something came up. Well, on this last trip I took my flight was delayed so far that I had no choice but to buy another ticket home to be able to get home on time. I thought it would be no problem to file a claim and get my money back for my original flight. I filed my claim and it has now been over two weeks with no response. I then decided to google the “insurance company” Expedia works with for this flight protection and they have a 1.1 star rating with the Customer affairs website. Almost all of the reviewers had the same problem. Filed a claim and then just never heard back from either website. I travel by plane normally about once a month and I will not be using either of these services in the future. Total scam.

My stay at Caribbean estate in Trinidad it was a great staying there mr Allen he make sure I am ok .he pick me up at the Norman Manley international airport in Kingston Jamaica and take me to the estate in Trinidad.the visit was a sad occasion but I enjoy my stay he gave me a person to bring me around this estate in portmore it very nice for anyone to stay .they have 24 hour security at the gate .so I would recommend the Caribbean estate a great place to stay .i would return sometime in the near future. Print your boarding passes the night before or else you may find yourself scrambling at the last minute as it goes away when you go to access it the next morning. There is no link to your boarding pass the next morning when you checked in the night before.

I booked a series of one night motel stays across a 1100 mile car trip visiting family, a total of five hotels were involved. I was able to find the best hotels at a great price in each town we are overnighting in and made and confirmed the reservations in about 20 minutes. Pretty good, I'd say! Never been disappointed with Expedia.

Hotel Valletta is the hidden gem of the city. Just off Market Street and very close to excellent restaurants and shops, the proprietors offer complimentary country breakfast. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. An elevator and baggage services are available to all rooms (very easily accessible for those with handicaps or can’t walk up stairs). We would definitely stay here again. Mark and Hope

Stunning lack of customer centricity. Their app, website and agents can’t reschedule a simple flight. Tried through the app - “There is something wrong on our end” Tried through the website - “There is something wrong on our end” Tried through the call center - “There is something wrong on our end” This lasts for 2 days. Meanwhile, hotel and flight prices go up, I get stuck on a call with them for 2 hours to CHANGE A FLIGHT. Never using Expedia ever again.

I made reservations for a weekend trip and in 2 hours had something come up and needed to cancel. I spent way over an hour trying to cancel. It was within the time frame to cancel without charges but I couldn’t get any help. The online cancellation option would do nothing and when I called I could not get past putting in my zip code, which it said was wrong every time. Was on hold for 55 minutes before I hung up. Finally emailed them and got a call back to get it cancelled. I had a similar incident a few years ago and they kept putting me on hold until I was past the time for free cancellation then all of a sudden they could help me. Will NEVER use them again.

I have two trips planned. One shows in the app and online at Expedia.com. The other does not. Thank goodness I have the email verification because otherwise I would not be able to travel! I printed out my email, which states that I can use it as an eticket. Let’s hope so. I will be past unhappy if I cannot get on my plane tomorrow.

So frustrating not to be able to search for hotels only on the app! When visiting a city that has a ton of houses and apartments for rent on Expedia, it’s a complete waste of time to have to scroll through all of them. For this reason I never book through the app. This filter is available on the regular website so should be easy to add.

I booked hotel last night for tonight. I show up and it says I booked for tomorrow night. This isn’t true. So here we are at 11:23 without a hotel! I will NOT use e pedía again for hotel booking!! This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. And I get here and he has no shuttle in am for a 6 am flight. Totally false advertising. And now Expedia tells me no refund! Rip off!!!

My wife and I stayed at Bless Hotel in Madrid two weeks ago. It was an incredible experience. The hotel is located in the nicest area of Madrid. The amenities are awesome. The bar at the entrance is incredible. The moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a great experience. From the Bellman to the check in staff to the room readiness group the experience got better. The food in their restaurants was amazing. Definitely we will stay at Bless next time we are in Madrid.

We booked in Orchid hotel in Makkah and I booking was made in an other hotel. The voucher indicated Orchid hotel and the Expedia made our booking in Dar Al Iman. They messed up with our booking and we found our selves in the street for one day looking for our hotel.

The app was AMAZING and it helped so much find a flight that was cheap and within the right time frame for my girlfriend and my flight coming up. Also the app was very easy to get around and use, but the only thing I didn’t like, was that I wasn’t able to share the flight info with anyone so that they would be able to buy the tickets for the right flights for us. Other than that My favorite flight app out there.

I have tried to book a flight in October 9-15, 2019 from Boston to Barcelona. The flight is advertised with available seating but every time a try to book the flight I get an error message stating “sorry the flight just sold out”. Seems like a bait and switch Expedia team to move passengers to a higher fare. Poor customer service and just not right...PKess

The app itself works ok, is intuitive, and is helpful in aggregating lesser, non-chain hotel options (which is my primary usage of the app: Hotels) and it is still my go-to for pricing flights. The points-based expedia membership program, however, is extremely vague in their values of the points and, whatever amount they are determined to be, they take quite some time to post. I’ve spent an estimated $4-5k with expedia on hotels in the past 3/4 years and I have about $55 in membership credit to show for it, but that credit is only applicable for certain bookings. This is a notably more stingy loyalty program than any other one I’ve been suckered into. This is less a review and more my personal justification for using another option for hotels. Like hotels.com, for example....

I love using the app. It makes it easy to travel. Of the thirty or so times I’ve used it, twice I’ve needed to ask questions or cancel a flight. It is dang near impossible. Not one person is fluent in English who I’ve spoken to. It’s like they understand the words I’m using, but are not fluent enough to get what I mean. I went to booking elsewhere for a while because of it when I can. Otherwise the app is great, the site is great, and so easy to use.

When booking, please be aware that even if you book a no change or no cancellation , and the company , property , or agency you booked for changes anything, that you will still be responsible and out on your money. So if the change of cancellation comes from who you booked with, still falls on you and Expedia will do nothing about it.

Expedia is one of the must have sites I use whenever I’m booking accommodations. Not only is it quick and convenient, it helps saves it into your itinerary and syncs to your phone’s calendar. It makes showing your taxi driver the address easily as it does so in the countries native language. (Which you can also display in English). You also can earn points for each booking which collect you discounts for your next trip! All in all, the app has not failed me yet so 5/5 stars!

I submitted to a reservation 4 months in advance. Whenever I was checking out it did not say anything about if I clicked go that I couldn’t cancel the reservation with a refund. Afterwards I learn that my wife and I have an appointment with our sons doctor on the time of the reservation. When I called, they said that the penalty for canceling is $368 (the amount I paid for the room). After telling the lady whom I could barely understand that that was unacceptable. She called the owner of the hotel and he said no we will not give a refund. She worked it with him to give me half in 3 days. Well it’s been a week with nothing. Stay away from the online places to purchase any reservations. They will lie and steal your money.

I rented a car as part of flight, hotel, car package. There is no car!! And the location they gave near Capital Mall in Sacramento doesn’t exist! I walked there from hotel. There is no customer service phone number on their app, and no email address for support/ customer service!! Their app DOES manage to say that they are “experiencing higher call volume than usual” try to call back at a time more convenient if possible. Problem is, travellers who are calling for help the need right NOW, they’re not usually sitting around waiting for Expedia to answer their phone. I will never use again. Thank you Enterprise Rental Car direct line, saved the day! from Enterprise/Payless car rental (who doesn’t answer phone either)

I called before my flight to let them know, there is a situation in my family and that I might not be able to make it on time because I was rushing my sister to the hospital and they still charged me $75 to put me on the next flight. And the representative wouldn’t even allow me to talk and explain my situation or even understanding. It seems to be Expedia is not about their integrity which is suppose to be customers first. Due to checking next web page to booked how to arrived to hotel, I thought I lost contact and started booking again the same room but I was booked for 2 rooms instead of one room. So agent canceled reservation and booked me for one room. After clearing missed booked rooms I wanted a confirmation and never got it, so I by chat I was later send confirmation and problem was resolved. Thank you.

I will never use Expedia again. I had a terrible experience, I did not get what I paid for and the customer service was terrible. I have the name of the regional manager and the case number and will pursue this. I booked a round trip ticket through Expedia from Seattle to Jacksonville, Florida. When it came time to fly back to Seattle I came to the airport with my two children ages 2 and 4 (something Expedia was well aware of because I bought each child a ticket and indicated their ages) and I was traveling alone with them. The first flight was to go to Detroit and then on to Seattle. I learned that this was not a actually a connection but rather an entirely separate flight. They wanted me to pay two separate baggage fees for each flight since they were technically 2 separate flights (not the round trip tickets I requested and paid for through Expedia and paid an extra service fee to Expedia). Then they wanted me to get off in Detroit, claim my bags, go back to the ticket counter, check the bags again and go through security again to board the next flight to Seattle. This was again because it was a separate flight and not a connection. This was not what I paid for through Expedia. Yes the airline (Spirit) was awful as well. So when I got to the airport and the flight was delayed there was no way I could make this “separate flight” and there were no other flights to accommodate me with this airline. So I had to stay the night in Jacksonville with my two kids with no accommodations offered by either the airline or Expedia. We then were rebooked on the same flight the next day (the only thing spirit could do. I then called Expedia. After 3 hours on the phone and speaking with the regional manager (who initially was trying to get us another flight but told me Expedia would have to eat the cost and the cost was too much to get us back to Seattle) told me there was nothing they could do and it was the airlines fault. She would not accommodate us in any way. We arrived to the airport the next day and as I was checking in the exact same delay occurred (I also learned the exact same delay had occurred the day before we started this process). So three days the same delay occurred. Spirit finally booked us on a delta flight and I had to pay baggage fees again since I had already paid on spirit, delta told me I still had to pay them and pursue spirit. In the end, I did not get what I paid for and no accommodations were offered. My father had an equally bad experience with Expedia just three weeks prior to this. Overall, an awful experience and something should be done to prevent things like this.

I finally called the hotel to verify my request went thru (as rooms were limited) and obtain a confirmation number. I should have just called the hotel in the first place.

I travel A LOT and many of the places I travel to do not have an airport near by so I have to fly to the closest airport, rent a car and then book a hotel 2 hours from my airport. Unfortunately, the best way to get deals on Expedia is through booking all these items at the same time. The bundle deals never let me put the area that I need for the hotel. It always tries to put me in a hotel close to airport. Also, I have accidentally booked two flights at the same time. There are no safety measures or alerts in place to warn you like “Warning, you are about to book two flight at the same time.” Expedia of course did not give me my money back for this mistake despite being a VIP member as I called about it 24 hours after I booked. Overall, I think the idea of Expedia is great and it’s very convenient in a lot of ways but It has been very tedious and annoying to get good prices easily since I travel from place to place. Otherwise booking for one full round trip vacation is super easy and great. Just booking one way to one way to one way is incredibly difficult

I booked the GSR hotel in Reno through Expedia last night. The rate per night was $116 plus taxes. After I selected that room it gave me the option of paying up font with not cancellation and the total will be $281 or pay later for an amount much larger. I selected the $281 and paid with my credit card. I received an itinerary confirmation and I noticed I was charged $451!!!! I called right the way and I was on the call for 1h 9m. They passed me around, put me on hold multiple times and didn’t solved the issue. I even provide them screenshots I took showing the $116 rate on my computer!!!! At that point they told me that rate was for a different account, which I provide the right information for “that account” and they told me that the only thing they could do is reimburse my credit card.... and it will ONLY take 5 business days to get my money back! That’s just fantastic! At that point I asked to talk to management and they told me they only work until 5pm. I ask to transfer me to their voicemail mail, he told me he could do that. I asked to be put though a survey so I can share my experience and he said not to that too. I finally ask for his full name and I got “Luke” and I asked for the last name and he told me “they don’t give last names”. That was far THE MOST FRUSTRATING customer experience I ever had. At this point I will not been using Expedia ever again for my travels. And I’ll make sure to share my experience with friends and family.
False Advertisement

I have used Expedia for a long time and have never had an issue until my most recent booking. I’m appalled at the lack of customer service and the false advertisement. I booked a morning flight which the airline then cancelled. Expedia offered to put me on an evening flight in which they sent an email stating “if this does not work for you, please contact booking so we can accommodate you”. When I called I was told because I booked a basic economy flight that I would not be able to choose a different flight unless I paid the fees to change which would have cost me $200 more. When I asked why I was sent the email with the offer to change, they told me they didn’t know why I was sent one with the option to change my flight however, it was sent to me to let me know my original flight had been cancelled. This makes no sense to me, my last trip I booked economy through Expedia my flight was delayed by 1 hour and they allowed me to find another flight. I then needed to change the credit card on file that was used to reserve my hotel, I was told I could not change it unless I cancelled and rebooked. I then asked if they would honor the same rate I booked which they told me no and that the hotel was sold out. When I called the hotel directly, there was no issue to change the card information. I’m not sure what has happened within 4 months time, but I will no longer book through Expedia.

Tl;dr - contacting support through the message option in app or website doesn’t work, phone customer service is unhelpful and they never get back to you. Scam! Background: I had an issue with my car rental in a different country where the rental agency did not honor the expedia booking because I had booked the car for one more day than I needed it , they forced me to make a new booking and pay again. At the time I could not contact Expedia as I did not have working phone service in this country so I ended up making a new booking. I have been trying to contact Expedia by their in app message option, website message option but they never got back to me. When I called them they had no trace of the messages that were sent through the website and app so it clearly doesn’t work and all messages just disappear into ether. Phone support has been unhelpful, I called them 2 days ago for the $560 refund of the original booking amount, they bounced me around a couple of times, finally said they will try to negotiate some refund with the rental company and get back to me in 48 hours. Not only did they not get back to me, I have received no confirmation of even a ticket being created. Even after spending $10k on travel this year through expedia, I have received horrible customer service. Needless to say, I’m never using it again and taking my business elsewhere.

After going on our first family trip to universal studios Orlando we tried to save money and purchase tickets through Expedia.. unfortunately the purchase was made for universal Hollywood... After freaking out because the purchase was over $$900 and they informed me there was a strict no refund policy I really was devastated... We were able to come up with the funds to enter Orlando but we were out the $900... After communicating with supervisor after supervisor they were able to contact Hollywood and ask for a refund. .. it took a few weeks but I was refunded the entire amount and they kept in contact with me throughout the entire process.. I'm definitely extremely grateful they went the extra mile to make that happen..I have a large family and we saved up for that family vacation for a while .. We will definitely be using Expedia again because the customer service was great!

I have loved Expedia since I started traveling on my own and the checkout process is always easy for me. Overall the app is decent and could use a few more features. For example when searching for an all inclusive on the website you can filter that option but in the app you must scroll through all hotels, motels and resorts. Also, I wish that you didn’t have to specifically search from one airport. The app states that it’s to help you find the best deal but to me the best deal would be found by checking all available airports that I am willing to travel to without having to research and put back in all of my filters every time. Also, they claim that it is cheaper to book through the app but I have always found that the better bundles are found on the website. It would also be nice if there was an “availability calendar” like on some other sights where you can see how much cheaper it would be to stay a different night. Another feature that would interest me is being able to search an entire country as your destination to try to find new and cool places to stay in a specific country.

I used Expedia last year to book my car, hotel as well as my flight to Puerto Rico and I loved it I can’t complain. However this year I decided to go over my brother in law who loves to book through the flight Airlines themselves to avoid problems and decided to book through Expedia. I looked for the flights I wanted and called the agent to inform what flight information I was interested in. They were very nice, I also confirmed that my flight was from August 21 to Orlando and coming back on the 27th I informed I’m going with family and we rented a villa and the lady helped me find the tickets got my information and I paid. I quickly glanced at the confirmation email and I though everything was great. Well a couple a days ago I look at the flight to print out the information and have realized and error was made. Instead of the 27th on the return ticket we have the 28th. When I called the agent in Expedia they told me there was nothing they can do and a fee of 200 per ticket was going to apply if we did any changes. Now I’m in Florida and the room that we have at the villa is up to the 27th. On the 27th we will have to find another hotel for me and my 2 children so we can spend one night. This is not easy to do. I’m not happy. I think next time I will listen to my brother in law.

Words simply cannot explain how irritated I am with EXPEDIA . I booked a room and was charged for it. As I pulled up to the hotel I received a call from the receptionist at the hotel telling me that there were no rooms available and they didn’t t know why Expedia booked me. I immediately called Expedia and I was put on hold for more than 50 minutes at least 3 times. This was a Saturday night. When I did get someone on the line, the kept telling me that they had to call the hotel to see if I could be refunded my money. Simply giving me the run around. It wasn’t until the following Monday that someone told me I would be refunded but it would take 7 days and it wouldn’t be the whole amount . I was like Hell No, I want my money back immediately. Why can’t people do the right thing???? Why do they Nickel and dime people. I will NEVER use this company again. It is so disrespectful to leave people on hold for a long period of time hoping they will hang up. This is so wrong and extremely unprofessional. STOP TAKING PEOPLE’s Money if you aren’t going to go over and beyond to make sure they are accommodated and treated with the utmost respect. Unacceptable! I will do everything I can to spread the word about this company.

It’s been years since I last saw him and now that my friend Kip told me to try this app I thought at first no it’s just like all the other apps I have. Yeah Nick says to me they are all full of bugs. Guess what yea it’s pretty easy to use and navigate and when I went looking for some useful information it wasn’t hard to locate at all and I mean at all. Why should it really be this way. HaHa I don’t know but getting used to it. The whole experience left me scratching my head and looking for my dog... yea kind of strange but not in a bad way. That’s what my neighbor Sal told me? Wow it’s a real game changer from so many areas of where I’m going and of the other locations that apps kind of take you. This is really the one I would have to say yes to and I mean yes it is a Good or should I say great coming from me. Rest my case and move on to doing the darn dishes HaHa!!

Went to reserve a hotel room. I put all the information that it needed, which meant my credit card. It charged me and everything. Then the app quit working and it didn’t give me a itinerary number or anything. So I called Expedia and explain to them that you charge me and that I got no itinerary number or a receipt saying that my room was reserved. The guy did not understand at all. He kept asking me if I wanted an upgrade and I said no I don’t want a upgrade you charge me for a room that I didn’t get The guy went on telling me there was nothing for him to do. I told him okay then I want my money back cause you charge me twice which I saw in my bank account. He told me I had to call my bank and figure it out. I am not going to call my bank for something you did. So after fighting over the phone with him for about 10 minutes about how he couldn’t do anything, he finally said that those 2 charges will be in my back on my card in 24 hours to about 48 hours. I will not be reserving anything off of Expedia again. I understand that the app will sometimes freeze, but when it does, they need to have better costumer support and not tell me to fix the mistakes they made.

Expedia app screwed me over. Due to technical issues, it did not cancel my flight reservation and now it’s after the 24 hour booking site and I’m down $150. You can’t trust apps. I recommend calling to make sure they can cancel your booking with some confirmation that it’s completely cancelled. Learned my lesson...triple check everything and make sure there is a paper trail. Good luck ya’lol. Definitely turned off by Expedia app right now and will consider another website. Update-Called their support peeps and supposedly they have screenshots of my activity and there was no error. How do I know that? They could save whatever to save their butts and money... Well if I pressed the cancel button and it doesn’t go through...is it not an error? I’m stupid for trusting that it went through and not calling. Lesson learned-no cancellations on apps. I recommend the app team come up with a way to bring attention to the fact that the app may not have processed a request. Not everyone understands that after pressing the button, it may not process. There’s no alert to let me know it didn’t cancel. I’m stupid for trusting it went through...so that’s my $150 mistake.

I would rate this company lower because of how scummy they are. We booked a room for the weekend to find out that when we got to the hotel the whole place had been sold out and expedia actually hadn’t booked us a room. Even with the confirmation number and Itinerary number stating we had a room there was nothing in the hotel. We got to the hotel @ 8 pm after a funeral with a seven week old child, a 3 & 4 year old. We had to drive 3.5 hours home that night with them screaming because we had no where to stay. To top it off when I called their customer service to get my refund, they told me it would take 7 days to process because it had already been charged. They are thieves!!! I demanded my money back immediately since I received no service. They transferred me three time before I got to a manager who could process the refund. Each time they transferred me the wait time got longer and music more annoying. This company is running a scam and they do dirty business. I would never use them again. Don’t use them if you rely on having housing when you arrive at your destination.

I booked my bundle trip with flights and hotel. They sent me a confirmation email and was charged but about an hour later I received a call by an Expedia agent telling me I had to pay an additional $280 for my departure flights because they were going to be cancelled otherwise. I tried to reason with them for about two hours that it wasn’t fair and they should honor the price but they insisted I didn’t have a choice. Finally, I tried to cancel my trip because I felt so dissatisfied with their very dishonest and unprofessional services so they threatened that I would still have to pay a total of about $1,300+ in penalty charges if I cancelled. I couldn’t believe this was happening and since I didn’t really have a choice in the matter I paid the extra money. It was honestly really sad.

Where to begin, first off I was going through Expedia to book airplane tickets for a trip to Miami. Okay first off booking the tickets is easy and quick. My problem is not there but going through the app the transaction wouldn’t go through but look at my account and they took the money out of my account. Smh, called them immediately and they tell me they don’t see anything on my Expedia account. I’m like you should cause there was a debit against my account multiple times. So to speed this up, argued with some agent for an hour on it coming out of my account. And that my bank can’t release the funds unless they sent me a letterhead and they refused to help me. I was like okay so since y’all took the money out can I just get y’all to confirm the plane tickets then and she stated no I had to do a new order and be charged again. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold for an hour. The lady came back on the phone just to say she is getting me a supervisor and still no supervisor 30 minutes later. I’m all the way screwed right now and stuck two extra days cause of Expedia this is an outrage.

I use Expedia a lot all over the world. Great selection, easy to find a place to stay. I am a gold member. But every time I book through the app I know that I will have to make at least one and often several phone calls to Expedia to straighten out the problems. Reservations not shown, information scrambled when transferred to hotel or airline, and other problems. Website is slightly less problematic. Most important change needed is to make most recent reservations more easily available with prices and credits shown clearly. Also needs to be more robust when app crashes due to problems like loss of WiFi or cell signal. They also mess up my name every time they make a reservation for me. They combined my first and part of my middle name as my first name and my last name and suffix as a last name when making an international flight reservation. Since my reservation name didn’t match my passport, I got processed like a drug dealer and almost was denied boarding. Another time they left my last name off a hotel reservation. The hotel told me I had no reservation.
SCAM! False advertisement and bad customer service

I booked a bundle of flight and hotel about a month ago for a trip to Cancun. After a few hours, I realized I could go for an extra day so I called Expedia and the agent said I should cancel the whole bundle and rebook so I did that. The total amount of the trip was $2,600, the agent informed me that there would be an immediate refund of about $1,100 and the rest will be refunded within 2 weeks. After 1 month of no further notice or refund payment, I decided to call Expedia but the lines were constantly busy, they wouldn’t even let me have a place in line for hold. I then emailed Expedia hoping to resolve the other $1,500 of my money. With more than 10 emails back and forth in a week, they told me that all they have in the system for refund payments total up to $1,100. How is this possible? Expedia rules highlights that you cab cancel and get a full refund within the 24 hour window. This is also standard for any airlines or hotel booking. I will never use Expedia again and writing this review for everyone to take caution in canceling their trips.

Finally i found something that was much more worse than the customer service of expedia, it is their app. It didn’t allow me to login into my account saying that limit exceeded on the first time itself. I verified my login details and tried logging in again and the message was popping up there again like your ex-gf without any mistake of yours. Moreover the app crashes more than the shares of the company in which you invested hoping to get a profit out of it. Also never go for their insurance plan unless until you have cancer or are planning to loose your leg, remember loose your leg and not hand. Because if you loose your hand you are still capable of taking a flight and wouldn’t refund. I obviously didn’t read their 5 page insurance terms and conditions and simply bought the plan. But i learnt that they were simply interested in making money and the insurance was just a scam. According to them IF AND ONLY you have an extremely serious medical condition that makes it impossible for you to walk, you cannot even file a claim.

I recently booked a flights for me and my husband to LAX on Expedia with Frontier Airlines. Now that I have purchased this ticket I find out that Frontier penalizes customers who book their flight with Expedia. If you don’t book a flight directly with Frontier, you have to pay substantially higher baggage fees. These fees are unfair. You even have to pay for a carry on bag. These fees were almost half of the cost of the flight. I’m stuck now having to pay those baggage fees, since my flight was non refundable. There were other flights I could have chosen, but since the Frontier flight was the best price, I chose it. Beware. I have another flight with America Airlines and baggage fees are the same no matter where you book the flight. Just a warning to future customers. I will never fly with Frontier again, thru Expedia or directly with the airline. That’s a shady way to do business. And it took me over an hour to even talk to a human being at Frontier.

I have booked several trip by bundling and last minute stays in the areas I’m in. There are many sites for doing the same thing. What has impressed is that when I have a issue I just call Expedia and they fix the issue. I had an issue with a airport pickup by a hotel that did not have a pickup as late as I got in, I called Expedia, they put me on hold then told me that the hotel would pick me up...and they did. Next I had an issue with a rental drop-off where the rental company would not answer my call because they were closed on Sunday, I called Expedia and they took care of it. Last I called with a app issue when I want to add my travel to a trip my wife already booked with Expedia, they found a way to package the trip saving me $$. Thanks Expedia.

Have used Expedia many times but our first Time having a problem Expedia was a nightmare. Stayed on hold over an hour just to be told that they could not contact the hotel that we were going to be staying at. But they would reach out to us in 48 hours. We just needed to add a person to our room. But because it’s a third-party you cannot do that directly with the hotel. We called Expedia they said they couldn’t reach the hotel. I hung up called hotel directly. They offered me an upgrade for $10 a night we took it ( included a pull out sofa, larger room$. No hassles no big cost no drama and I had an answer in five minutes. Expedia failed us. If I would’ve waited for Expedia who apparently do not have a good relationship with the hotels or did not actually call them, we would not have gotten what we needed (we were departing within 24 hours and Expedia knew that). I also bought the insurance ridiculous. Don’t buy the insurance it’s a ridiculous coverage read the reviews very informative.

This review mostly centered around the app. I did take a successful trip through Expedia last year and was happy with my flights and hotel. However, I cannot see my future booked trip in the app. It will not load. I’ve tried updating the app and I have a new phone so it shouldn’t be acting poorly. Please fix this bug. Also I will say we had trouble with the website when we booked this year’s trip and I had multiple pending charges on my credit card. But I called customer support and was helped. The lady assured me the erroneous pending charges would be cancelled and they were. So I think the main troubles have been with the app and website. My advice to those complaining, learn how to really read ALL the text that is listed for a hotel. And if you’re not sure of amenities, call either the hotel or Expedia before you travel.

I found a good hotel in San Francisco for a good price. But the app does not give good control over the geographical distance included in the search. The filters don’t let you specify a distance range, and the entries, when you call them up, show such a tiny map that you can’t tell where the hotel is in relation to your desired destination. Wasted time reading about hotels that turned out to be 25 miles outside the city! They let you name nearby municipalities/neighborhoods to narrow the search, which is probably part of their attempt to handle this concern. But of course, I’m not going to recognize any of those names because, (surprise, surprise), I’m a visitor traveling from out of town. A simple distance filter, and simply to display the distance from your desired city on each record, would help so much.

Will never book anything with them again nor purchase the travel insurance. Expedia and the insurance company are both scamming with each other to keep from paying for a lost night of hotel stay of our vacation due out flight not being delayed and us flying out the next day. Expedia told the insurance company they already reimbursed for the hotel stay. Which isn’t true. I asked the insurance company to provide me with the date I was supposedly reimbursed but was told they didn’t have a date. They were just going on what Expedia told them. I’ve been fighting this battle since the end of October 2018. They owe me for transportation from the airport to where we had to spend the night also. But are also refusing to pay that. So, please beware of the insurance, it’s a total rip off. You pay for it and they do nothing. Then Expedia lies so they do the insurance company doesn’t have to pay anything. Don’t book with Expedia if you don’t have to. Go with Travelocity!!!!

I always go on google flights incognito to gauge prices and then I look at Expedia and usually prices are about the same. Prices do vary by when you’re booking and what day of the week you book. I just keep checking incognito so the cookies don’t mess with the best possible prices. In the end I always book with Expedia. I’ve never had problems. It’s reliable and all my booking info is in one app even flight changes like terminal changes while you’re at the airport are very useful. Also you can access your info even if you’re offline, you’ll get the last update that was available. I use this for hotels and their bundles look great but I have never tried it. They look convenient. Not a bad app to have when you’re booking trips.

So this has happened to me over and over again. With flights and hotels. When you book directly thru Hotels and airlines they can make changes easily to your reservation and if you have any emergencies they even accommodate you despite their cancellation policies! NOT so when you book thru Expedia!! Over and over I have heard from hotels and airlines, sorry we can’t do anything because you booked thru a third party. Friends who booked thru hotel website or called could cancel or make changes, not us!! So then I call Expedia and they give me the run around, holding on the line for a long time, then the nice representative gets back and says to me yes it’s all handled and you will get a confirmation email BUT the email I get is, sorry the hotel wouldn’t cancel! But they WOULD if I didn’t have booked with Expedia because other people in my party were able to but the hotel isn’t dealing w Expedia?! Anyways I am done so this doesn’t happen anymore! My advise: book directly-no third party booking!

We were supposed to stay at Motel 6 and we informed Expedia that we had a dog. We drove from Pa to Ontario, arrived at Motel 6 and we were turned away because Expedia failed to mention the dog. Motel 6 is pet friendly but had no rooms according to the clerk. We spent the next 4 hours searching for a room and went to the Ramada hotel which was much more expensive. Contacted Expedia once again and they refunded the cost of the room at Motel 6 but we want them to further compensate us. They were asked to pay for our stay at the Ramada and refused. Our vacation was nearly destroyed all because someone from Expedia failed to mention that we had a dog. We had a lot of trouble with the internet and using our phones was very aggravating. Someone from Expedia actually had the nerve to hang up on us while we were scrambling to find a room.

And the best part is I actually called the hotel directly before I booked the room to ask them how far the train station to the city was from the hotel and figured I may as well book it directly through the hotel but when I told them the price that I got through Expedia I was told to book it through the Expedia website/app because the price that I got was much lower than what the hotel rate directly could give me and Expedia offers the option to use a credit card to hold the room but pay at check in and I can cancel up until the day before. I'm going to use Expedia from now on!!😁

I’ve been using this app for years now, and I really don’t need it for anything complicated, I just use it for keeping track of my flights, have my itinerary on the go instead of a printout and the time frames for them, and really it serves that job very well! I don’t know who uses it for the full on use of the app for booking hotels and such, so I can’t say how they feel about this app, but I enjoy using it for my simplest of needs! I will admit that it can lead me astray a little with last minute changes at the terminals, but I can’t fault the app for that, and even then I have my email to give me info regarding those changes to boot. So yeah, if you need an app that can keep track of your itinerary and flights, I wholeheartedly recommend this app!

App is just as bad as the company! You won’t be able to talk to anyone after the have set you up with sketchy airplanes and hotels and you never get your money back!! Horrible company!! I haven’t traveled in 20 years. Wanted to do something special for my son’s 20 birthday. Expedia directed me to use Volaris and Pueblo Bonito in Cabo, Mexico. The airline was vague about the departure at 12:40. Flight was missed and immediate follow-up with Expedia and others didn’t assist me in any refund except Alamo rental! Thank God for Alamo. I will never book through Expedia or travel to Mexico again. I might have made an honest mistake (which I became aware of at the airport excited to travel), but both Expedia and Volaris’s customer service—lacking being kind and fair—left me stressed and in tears! They’ll take your money over anything! I will use other services and I will recommend to anyone else the same. After this horrible experience of losing approx $5,000 and breaking my heart about my son’s birthday, Never, never, never again!

Would normally give 5 stars for managing my trips, which I still love the app for, but they’re now trying to have you book trips through the app as well, which was a bit clunky but fine, until I got to the end and it said there was an error and that I needed to start over. Except I immediately got a confirmation email and saw the charges on my credit card. This was a bad experience, I felt insecure about whether I’d successfully booked my flight or not, but really didn’t want to book another one and pay twice. Customer service was very helpful, so again, just writing s one star review because of one specific problem, if they fix that then it’ll be back to five stars for me.

Very disappointed with Expedia. I was trying to book a round trip flight. Expedia wasn’t processing my payment (tried 5 times). Spoke with rep who tried as well and failed. I felt like there was a reason for pymt not going thru. Rep told me to try again in 2-3 days and don’t worry about price, it will remain the same (flight was for Jan, we are in nov). 2 days later price increased $100. Called again and another rep told me reason payment was not going thru is because I was choosing 2 separate airlines for my round trip ticket. Seems like not enough money could be made by my booking. My argument is, why have those flight options available if you will not process my payment? Why have me trying over and over thinking it’s my debit card being the problem, when it’s just that my bookings were not profitable enough for Expedia or the airlines. That’s BS. If you can’t process a flight, don’t have it available as an option. Definitely taking my business elsewhere from now on

I choose a cheap flight and great departure and arrival time, but I been trying to book a flight for two days and I entered all booking information and my payment and every time I was ready to book it give me an error that my “book was not able to complete at this moment, please try again later”. I contacted customer support and I told them my issue and, they were trying to do the same thing I did and had the same error. I spend 1hours on the phone with them very patiently, and at the end they just told me the issue is because the airline are changing their booking information etc.. which it doesn’t make any sense, and for that hour they were not able to told me that and nothing was resolve and they were trying to make me buy a more expensive and horrible arrival and departure times flight!! Not help at all... First time trying to book a flight from this site and It was not a great experience. won’t be back here for any of my flight matters.

If I could rate them any lower I would Honesty I never leave a bad review. It’s always been said that if you don’t have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself. I have many points that I should’ve left using this company, but this way the last straw. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. That being said, Expedia has literally done nothing but “make arrangements” and basically bold face lie. I will only talk about my most recent trip. I booked a flight (round trip). Plans changed I couldn’t leave as early as I had hoped. Totally fine. They said I’d need another ticket... not saying round trip ticket just I could t change my ticket I had. So fine I bought anther ticket there. No worries it was my fault. Called Expedia because I had made a mistake, and EXPRESSLY asked if I could check in at 1 am. The agent said no worries I will write that down no need to pay for two nights... Got to the hotel they were wrong. I still had to pay two nights. Got to the airport to leave. No show for my one ticket... so I had to buy another ticket. Did Expedia have my back for either offense. Nope. Not after I have used them for every booking for the last 5 years of my life. Long story short, do your own research and book yourself both vendors said if I booked through them they could help. Expedia is basically your uncle that sells you lemon car then Refuses to take any responsibility for it being crap.

Expedia is my favorite & primary go to app for the best airline, hotel, package deals. I will always remember how graciously they took care of our family when my mother died 8 years ago & we needed to have her brought from Los Angeles to Milwaukee. Our family of 4 needed to fly the next day & they kindly gave us bereavement fares that were under $1000 for next day flight plus a return one. We were told if we needed to make a change the return date to just call them. I’ve used Expedia to book several hotel stays & discounted flights & pay the same , a few dollars less or sometimes 10% plus less when compared to other similar sites I use to compare prices. Customer service is very important to me & Expedia, you rock!

Awful experience cause they told me that my flight was canceled by Turkish airlines. But that wasn’t true as a turkish representative told me it wasn’t after I called them. Expedia kept telling me they were trying to fix it, so i was waiting till the last minute for the expedia staff to fix their issue. They did not fix it, it was all just a ruse. I was on the phone with them for hours and talked to a “manager” who put me on hold for 45 min and then simply hung up on me. I was forced to buy my own ticket and Expedia kept telling me they wouldnt pay for anything cause it wasnt their fault the flight got cancelled....but the flight wasn’t canceled. They had failed to properly book the ticket and simply kept putting blame on the airline and dragging me along from one agent to another until I ran out of time and forced into buying a different ticket. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA or any other third party company for that matter. Theres no point. Just book straight from an airline, at least they can be held accountable.

On my first trip to Europe, I booked my plane ticket and lodging through Expedia. I was very at ease knowing if I ran into any issues I could call Expedia. Only twice did I need to do so and the customer service agents were very reassuring to address and solve my situation. I would only point out, I booked a plane ticket from London to Paris through Vueling Airlines based in Barcelona. If you book coach and need to make changes, you will need to go directly through Vueling. Expedia will not be able to help. Vueling can be challenging to deal with on the app and recommend calling them instead. And because Vueling offers inexpensive trips, in the long run it may end up being more Expensive. Over all, Expedia was there for me.... Thank you.

I’ve used this a few times to book hotels and never had any issues, however this last time I booked several, as we were going on a cross country move and needed pet friendly accommodations and you can’t use that filter on the app so I had to use the website. you can’t choose options like “close to the highway”, Or “can accommodate truck/trailer parking” so that was another headache trying to make sure the hotels weren’t too far out of the way. One of our hotels was just AWFUL and I went to write an HONEST review to warn other potential guests and they wouldn’t allow my review to be posted because ‘they only allow positive reviews’ which kinda upsets me as I spent money to stay in a hotel where I felt unsafe yet that I could have avoided had others reviews been allowed to be posted. I would highly suggest doing your own homework about hotels you are about to book so you don’t have a terrible experience in a sketchy hotel. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use again.

This is not a very good company at all and I was not respected at all my room was cancelled without me even knowing company didn’t even try calling me to notify me about these changes in then when I got to the room where I was going the front desk had to notify me it was cancelled in the representatives that I spoke with was very rude to me in so long story short I finally got a room at motel six it looked nice had a kitchen in everything me my kids in spouse got all comfortable turned off lights for a sec turned the lights back on roaches on the counter top crawling everywhere then we began looking for things that was wrong with the room after this point it was all kinds of stains on our covers the worst service ever never will I ever go through this connection again in never will I ever get another room with motel six again I’m not bashing anyone or company, but I wanted you guys to know how I was treated in I didn’t even call to get my money back .. but no big deal lesson learned never again!!

I can tell you that I will NEVER book through Expedia EVER AGAIN! I booked our flight for our WEDDING, got the protection plan in case we wanted to change the flight, and now they are telling me that I can’t. I called multiple times and was told “there was nothing they could do”. I said I bought the procreation plan because it specifically said the change or cancel a flight was covered 100%. When in actuality, they are telling me that my particular flight is not under that protection plan. I asked them why they bothered to offer it then for $96 extra per person, if I wasn’t going to be able to use it to begin with. I put in a claim with the plan, and was still denied. Please tell me Expedia, what exactly DOES your plan cover? This is my WEDDING which you are now ruining because you refuse to tell my why I can’t change my flight. Screw you guys and believe me, I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know to NEVER book through this scam of a website. Hope you guys are happy.

I’ve used Expedia many times and it hasn’t been as awful as this time. We went to book our flight home from NY and we didn’t get our itinerary for the flight. With the company they booked our flight home with it was a small company. The company had many rules with baggage and arrival times that would have been good to know by Expedia. We got to the airport an hour early ( it shouldn’t have taken us longer) when the airline said they couldn’t take our baggage because it was too late and we had missed the flight. The airline told us they couldn’t accommodate us for missing the flight because we booked through a third party for the flight. When I called Expedia to see what they could do they wouldn’t help out at all. I ended up waiting on the phone for 30 minutes just for them to tell me all they could do is book another flight for me and it would cost more money. I will never book with Expedia again for anything.

Customers need to do some due diligence when using Expedia, you will find its sometimes cheaper booking direct with hotels, especially abroad. often times Expedia does not guarantee the best possible price. On a recent trip to Rosarito Mexico i booked a ocean side suite for 2 nights on a weekday, i though i got a bargain for the suite as a typical suite in US can be hundreds of dollars especially with an ocean view, as i later found out from talking to the hotels reservations department they advertise a significantly far lower price on the hotels home page which is a standard rate year round without fluctuation. Which was Expedias copout answer that they have no control over market fluctuation even if rates go down. Again the standard rate starts and begins far lower than Expedias price year round. So Expedia gave me $25 to my account for a future reservation, after they price gauged me and up sold a room for hundreds of dollars more. Not kidding, it was no nickel or dime in difference, it was hundreds.

I'm not a frequent traveler, but I do like three idea of building an account that will give me long term benefits. The design of the app is user friendly. I planned an entire trip to California for three and a couple other small getaways and it works, for the most part workout a hitch. There are a few things that I get annoyed by, 1. The double points thing I think it's just bait to get you to download the app, it's probably some loop hole they are able to use one probably your first purchase, or something similar. It's misleading, and it annoys me. 2. Map integration in this app is terrible. Recently went down to the keys, and the hotel address was nowhere near where the pin dropped from the app, had to Google it in the end. 3. You can't review the hotels after your trip through the app. It doesn't make sense that I've gotta log in online to be able to write the review when the app should have a rating interface. Lastly, I'd like to see Expedia become more competitive with their pricing, I've had the chance to download other traveling apps, and saw the difference. I'm still just a +blue member member, whatever that means, hopefully if I make it to silver I'll see some actual discounts.

The front desk clerk upon check in was friendly, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have a breakfast option. However, our first night there, there was no soap. Housekeeping’s reply was “we are out, we left extra shampoo and I don’t know what to tell you”. Seriously, how do you run out of soap at a hotel? The tub was very slippery and there was no mat (on order). On our third night, we came back to the room after a VERY long day of exploring to find that our room was not cleaned. While I like the fact that water was not wasted on laundering the sheets, I do like climbing in to a tidy, made bed at the end of a day as well as having supplies replenished. The continental breakfast uses styrofoam plates, bowls and cups which is not very environmental friendly and lastly the bathroom had fresh texturing but no paint (room 325 in case holiday inn is reading this)...rather tacky. We would probably not stay here again.
Can’t book multiple cities

My 1st & foremost biggest #1 complaint is one can NOT book multiple cities flights on the app, defiantly can’t book hotels in multiple cities either. Ie: on app cant book O’Hare to athens, the on way back Naples to O’Hare. Now, one can do this on the actual Expedia site, however most ppl these days book on app. That’s why Kayak rocks better. Also, one should be able to both book multiple city trips with different air ports, AND also at same time (for more dicounts) ALSO be able to book hotels for those various cities as well. Finally, I recently married & changed my last name (quite sure very common) however app not letting me change to my new last name. Opportunities for improvements.
Expedia iPad app needs improvement, lags behind

Some basic feature functionality is missing that means it lags behind Booking’s app to a material degree. - can’t save favorite hotels to a list (a no brainer) - more detailed info about a particular property or room is presented as a bunch of text, like literally just dumped into an open text field, not user friendly at all - when I go to reserve a room, not all of my user info is saved so it’s midnight and dark in my bedroom, then I need to get out of my bed, fetch my credit card to give it my CVV (Booking’s app doesn’t require this, what gives?) - slow app at times and less responsive than Booking - visually more simple than Booking app means it borders on being dumbed down and simplistic (app devs took simple design way too far here and are sacrificing richer presentation of important data) - feels like it still requires way too many presses and swipes - inability to change dates “on the fly” (have to back out of hotel results page and re-enter dates on start search page) - Expedia, you guys need to hurry and catch up, no wonder Booking continues taking market share from you IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD - you guys spend literally billions on tech and cloud and still can’t produce a competitive app

I accidentally booked the wrong night for a hotel stay. Called Expedia to correct the error within 5 minutes. They claimed they needed the hotel’s permission to cancel, but that the department at the hotel that could cancel it was unavailable. Assured us they would contact the hotel within 24 hours and get back to us. Next day we got an email saying they were still in the process of contacting the hotel. Same thing the next day. Called customer service again and was told the department at the hotel was still unavailable. Went through this same process 4 days in a row. Finally called the hotel myself. Hotel said they would have no problem canceling but Expedia would have to call since they had my money and also confirmed that Expedia had not ever tried to contact them about cancelling the reservation. Eventually got an email from Expedia saying the hotel denied the cancellation and we would be charged.

This review is about customer service (or lack of) and not particularly the app. After realizing I made a mistake and booked my hotel in the wrong city, I quickly made the correct reservations and called to cancel the incorrect hotel. I was placed on hold while they contacted the hotel to cancel. Once they returned to my line they stated that the hotel manager was not there and they were the only ones who could cancel the hotel. Expedia was to follow up with the hotel and then follow up call would be made to me confirming that it was cancelled and I wouldn’t be charged. Guess what was charged?!?! I called Expedia back and again the same situation. Placed on hold until returned and again they were not able to reconcile my issue. This time CS stated they had no record of my 1st call to cancel. OH!! AND..I was charged for 3nights the full booking too!! Again a follow up call was supposed to be given to me and I still have not received a call.

I advise everyone before you even book with Expedia go through the airlines itself. I had an accidental cancellation and they would not help me with getting that exact flight back. The only way to do so is to pay a exchange fee of $200 which leaves me with really nothing to get on the flight I originally booked. I have talked to multiple people All they did was give me run around for hours between Hawaiian airlines and the rep at Expedia still with no help on resolving this matter. They don’t care about their customers all they want is money. And $200 of my “airline credit” and the full payment for the exact same flight exact info everything. No matter how much I explained the cancellation was not suppose to happen. Never do business with this company! They are crooks with no care for anyone. So I lose out on the entire trip booked because of an accident. Never again will I spend my money through Expedia.

This is the first time I have given ANY company a bad review because mistakes can happen,but in this case it was not just a mistake. This was incompetence of epic proportions. I just completed a 61/2 hour quest to use my $12 worth of rewards. I should have quit after an hour but by then it was just a matter of principle. After another hour of phone calls and 2 hours on my iPad trying to book a room it became a quest. Then after another 2 hours on my iPad and iPhone and a total of 2 hours on hold and another 2 hours talking to 4 customer service people (and I use that term loosely) I finally did reach someone who could assist me in my reservation and using my $12 worth of rewards. So I will never ever use Expedia again but if you have nothing to do and you would like to spend 61/2 hours wasting your time making a reservation and using your reward points I highly recommend Expedia.

I just booked a flight from Ewr to PBI, I was sold an upgrade so I could choose seats on the United flight. When I went to United site they wanted to charge additional fee! When I called Expedia, the answer I got was “we are sorry the seat selection is for 24hrs in advance of the flight!!! Expedia is becoming worthless!

According to our app we were checked in for our flight and when we called Expedia customer service to dispute our issue after being laughed at by the airline, we got hung up on and had to argue with not one but 3 customer service representatives and their supervisors. We ended up having to spend double and missed an entire day of our vacation due to their lack of quality customer service to be treated like a fool when the error was their’s. I will be disputing all charges from this site and I have video of two different supervisors refusing to help in any way shape or form. They refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. It almost ruined our entire vacation because it literally drained us of all of our funds for this trip to Chicago as a gift from my fiancé after experiencing dying with our son and both of us surviving... thanks Expedia for making my anxiety worse and making me feel like an idiot for finally leaving my house. Wish I would’ve googled all the class action lawsuits you’re already undertaking before using your services. Thankfully these videos will help my case to get my money back. Something tells me what was said goes against your terms and conditions. I’ll have my lawyer do all the detail work. I hope your business goes as well as the beginning and end of our trip. Your business is stealing money, and it’s not appreciated.

I’ve used Expedia multiple times for booking flights and I always purchase the flight protection which apparently guaranteed my money back if something came up. Well, on this last trip I took my flight was delayed so far that I had no choice but to buy another ticket home to be able to get home on time. I thought it would be no problem to file a claim and get my money back for my original flight. I filed my claim and it has now been over two weeks with no response. I then decided to google the “insurance company” Expedia works with for this flight protection and they have a 1.1 star rating with the Customer affairs website. Almost all of the reviewers had the same problem. Filed a claim and then just never heard back from either website. I travel by plane normally about once a month and I will not be using either of these services in the future. Total scam.

My stay at Caribbean estate in Trinidad it was a great staying there mr Allen he make sure I am ok .he pick me up at the Norman Manley international airport in Kingston Jamaica and take me to the estate in Trinidad.the visit was a sad occasion but I enjoy my stay he gave me a person to bring me around this estate in portmore it very nice for anyone to stay .they have 24 hour security at the gate .so I would recommend the Caribbean estate a great place to stay .i would return sometime in the near future. I was able to find the best hotels at a great price in each town we are overnighting in and made and confirmed the reservations in about 20 minutes. Pretty good, I'd say! Hotel Valletta is the hidden gem of the city. Just off Market Street and very close to excellent restaurants and shops, the proprietors offer complimentary country breakfast. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. An elevator and baggage services are available to all rooms (very easily accessible for those with handicaps or can’t walk up stairs). We would definitely stay here again. Mark and Hope

Stunning lack of customer centricity. Their app, website and agents can’t reschedule a simple flight. Tried through the app - “There is something wrong on our end” Tried through the website - “There is something wrong on our end” Tried through the call center - “There is something wrong on our end” This lasts for 2 days. Meanwhile, hotel and flight prices go up, I get stuck on a call with them for 2 hours to CHANGE A FLIGHT. Never using Expedia ever again.

I made reservations for a weekend trip and in 2 hours had something come up and needed to cancel. I spent way over an hour trying to cancel. It was within the time frame to cancel without charges but I couldn’t get any help. The online cancellation option would do nothing and when I called I could not get past putting in my zip code, which it said was wrong every time. Was on hold for 55 minutes before I hung up. Finally emailed them and got a call back to get it cancelled. I had a similar incident a few years ago and they kept putting me on hold until I was past the time for free cancellation then all of a sudden they could help me. Will NEVER use them again.

I have two trips planned. One shows in the app and online at Expedia.com. The other does not. Thank goodness I have the email verification because otherwise I would not be able to travel! I printed out my email, which states that I can use it as an eticket. Let’s hope so. I will be past unhappy if I cannot get on my plane tomorrow.

When visiting a city that has a ton of houses and apartments for rent on Expedia, it’s a complete waste of time to have to scroll through all of them. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. And I get here and he has no shuttle in am for a 6 am flight. Totally false advertising. And now Expedia tells me no refund! Rip off!!!

My wife and I stayed at Bless Hotel in Madrid two weeks ago. It was an incredible experience. The hotel is located in the nicest area of Madrid. The amenities are awesome. The bar at the entrance is incredible. The moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a great experience. From the Bellman to the check in staff to the room readiness group the experience got better. The food in their restaurants was amazing. Definitely we will stay at Bless next time we are in Madrid.

We booked in Orchid hotel in Makkah and I booking was made in an other hotel. The voucher indicated Orchid hotel and the Expedia made our booking in Dar Al Iman. They messed up with our booking and we found our selves in the street for one day looking for our hotel.

Also the app was very easy to get around and use, but the only thing I didn’t like, was that I wasn’t able to share the flight info with anyone so that they would be able to buy the tickets for the right flights for us. Other than that My favorite flight app out there.

The flight is advertised with available seating but every time a try to book the flight I get an error message stating “sorry the flight just sold out”. The app itself works ok, is intuitive, and is helpful in aggregating lesser, non-chain hotel options (which is my primary usage of the app: Hotels) and it is still my go-to for pricing flights. The points-based expedia membership program, however, is extremely vague in their values of the points and, whatever amount they are determined to be, they take quite some time to post. I’ve spent an estimated $4-5k with expedia on hotels in the past 3/4 years and I have about $55 in membership credit to show for it, but that credit is only applicable for certain bookings. This is a notably more stingy loyalty program than any other one I’ve been suckered into. This is less a review and more my personal justification for using another option for hotels. Like hotels.com, for example....

I love using the app. It makes it easy to travel. Of the thirty or so times I’ve used it, twice I’ve needed to ask questions or cancel a flight. It is dang near impossible. Not one person is fluent in English who I’ve spoken to. It’s like they understand the words I’m using, but are not fluent enough to get what I mean. I went to booking elsewhere for a while because of it when I can. Otherwise the app is great, the site is great, and so easy to use.

When booking, please be aware that even if you book a no change or no cancellation , and the company , property , or agency you booked for changes anything, that you will still be responsible and out on your money. So if the change of cancellation comes from who you booked with, still falls on you and Expedia will do nothing about it.

Expedia is one of the must have sites I use whenever I’m booking accommodations. Not only is it quick and convenient, it helps saves it into your itinerary and syncs to your phone’s calendar. It makes showing your taxi driver the address easily as it does so in the countries native language. (Which you can also display in English). You also can earn points for each booking which collect you discounts for your next trip! All in all, the app has not failed me yet so 5/5 stars!

I submitted to a reservation 4 months in advance. Whenever I was checking out it did not say anything about if I clicked go that I couldn’t cancel the reservation with a refund. Afterwards I learn that my wife and I have an appointment with our sons doctor on the time of the reservation. When I called, they said that the penalty for canceling is $368 (the amount I paid for the room). After telling the lady whom I could barely understand that that was unacceptable. She called the owner of the hotel and he said no we will not give a refund. She worked it with him to give me half in 3 days. Well it’s been a week with nothing. Stay away from the online places to purchase any reservations. They will lie and steal your money.

I rented a car as part of flight, hotel, car package. There is no car!! And the location they gave near Capital Mall in Sacramento doesn’t exist! I walked there from hotel. There is no customer service phone number on their app, and no email address for support/ customer service!! Their app DOES manage to say that they are “experiencing higher call volume than usual” try to call back at a time more convenient if possible. Problem is, travellers who are calling for help the need right NOW, they’re not usually sitting around waiting for Expedia to answer their phone. I will never use again. Thank you Enterprise Rental Car direct line, saved the day! from Enterprise/Payless car rental (who doesn’t answer phone either)

I called before my flight to let them know, there is a situation in my family and that I might not be able to make it on time because I was rushing my sister to the hospital and they still charged me $75 to put me on the next flight. Due to checking next web page to booked how to arrived to hotel, I thought I lost contact and started booking again the same room but I was booked for 2 rooms instead of one room. So agent canceled reservation and booked me for one room. After clearing missed booked rooms I wanted a confirmation and never got it, so I by chat I was later send confirmation and problem was resolved. Thank you.

I will never use Expedia again. I had a terrible experience, I did not get what I paid for and the customer service was terrible. I have the name of the regional manager and the case number and will pursue this. I booked a round trip ticket through Expedia from Seattle to Jacksonville, Florida. When it came time to fly back to Seattle I came to the airport with my two children ages 2 and 4 (something Expedia was well aware of because I bought each child a ticket and indicated their ages) and I was traveling alone with them. The first flight was to go to Detroit and then on to Seattle. I learned that this was not a actually a connection but rather an entirely separate flight. They wanted me to pay two separate baggage fees for each flight since they were technically 2 separate flights (not the round trip tickets I requested and paid for through Expedia and paid an extra service fee to Expedia). Then they wanted me to get off in Detroit, claim my bags, go back to the ticket counter, check the bags again and go through security again to board the next flight to Seattle. This was again because it was a separate flight and not a connection. This was not what I paid for through Expedia. Yes the airline (Spirit) was awful as well. So when I got to the airport and the flight was delayed there was no way I could make this “separate flight” and there were no other flights to accommodate me with this airline. So I had to stay the night in Jacksonville with my two kids with no accommodations offered by either the airline or Expedia. We then were rebooked on the same flight the next day (the only thing spirit could do. I then called Expedia. After 3 hours on the phone and speaking with the regional manager (who initially was trying to get us another flight but told me Expedia would have to eat the cost and the cost was too much to get us back to Seattle) told me there was nothing they could do and it was the airlines fault. She would not accommodate us in any way. We arrived to the airport the next day and as I was checking in the exact same delay occurred (I also learned the exact same delay had occurred the day before we started this process). So three days the same delay occurred. Spirit finally booked us on a delta flight and I had to pay baggage fees again since I had already paid on spirit, delta told me I still had to pay them and pursue spirit. In the end, I did not get what I paid for and no accommodations were offered. My father had an equally bad experience with Expedia just three weeks prior to this. Overall, an awful experience and something should be done to prevent things like this.

I travel A LOT and many of the places I travel to do not have an airport near by so I have to fly to the closest airport, rent a car and then book a hotel 2 hours from my airport. Unfortunately, the best way to get deals on Expedia is through booking all these items at the same time. The bundle deals never let me put the area that I need for the hotel. It always tries to put me in a hotel close to airport. Also, I have accidentally booked two flights at the same time. There are no safety measures or alerts in place to warn you like “Warning, you are about to book two flight at the same time.” Expedia of course did not give me my money back for this mistake despite being a VIP member as I called about it 24 hours after I booked. Overall, I think the idea of Expedia is great and it’s very convenient in a lot of ways but It has been very tedious and annoying to get good prices easily since I travel from place to place. Otherwise booking for one full round trip vacation is super easy and great. Just booking one way to one way to one way is incredibly difficult

I booked the GSR hotel in Reno through Expedia last night. The rate per night was $116 plus taxes. After I selected that room it gave me the option of paying up font with not cancellation and the total will be $281 or pay later for an amount much larger. I selected the $281 and paid with my credit card. I received an itinerary confirmation and I noticed I was charged $451!!!! I called right the way and I was on the call for 1h 9m. They passed me around, put me on hold multiple times and didn’t solved the issue. I even provide them screenshots I took showing the $116 rate on my computer!!!! At that point they told me that rate was for a different account, which I provide the right information for “that account” and they told me that the only thing they could do is reimburse my credit card.... and it will ONLY take 5 business days to get my money back! That’s just fantastic! At that point I asked to talk to management and they told me they only work until 5pm. I ask to transfer me to their voicemail mail, he told me he could do that. I asked to be put though a survey so I can share my experience and he said not to that too. I finally ask for his full name and I got “Luke” and I asked for the last name and he told me “they don’t give last names”. That was far THE MOST FRUSTRATING customer experience I ever had. At this point I will not been using Expedia ever again for my travels. And I’ll make sure to share my experience with friends and family.
False Advertisement

I have used Expedia for a long time and have never had an issue until my most recent booking. I’m appalled at the lack of customer service and the false advertisement. I booked a morning flight which the airline then cancelled. Expedia offered to put me on an evening flight in which they sent an email stating “if this does not work for you, please contact booking so we can accommodate you”. When I called I was told because I booked a basic economy flight that I would not be able to choose a different flight unless I paid the fees to change which would have cost me $200 more. When I asked why I was sent the email with the offer to change, they told me they didn’t know why I was sent one with the option to change my flight however, it was sent to me to let me know my original flight had been cancelled. This makes no sense to me, my last trip I booked economy through Expedia my flight was delayed by 1 hour and they allowed me to find another flight. I then needed to change the credit card on file that was used to reserve my hotel, I was told I could not change it unless I cancelled and rebooked. I then asked if they would honor the same rate I booked which they told me no and that the hotel was sold out. When I called the hotel directly, there was no issue to change the card information. I’m not sure what has happened within 4 months time, but I will no longer book through Expedia.

Tl;dr - contacting support through the message option in app or website doesn’t work, phone customer service is unhelpful and they never get back to you. Scam! Background: I had an issue with my car rental in a different country where the rental agency did not honor the expedia booking because I had booked the car for one more day than I needed it , they forced me to make a new booking and pay again. At the time I could not contact Expedia as I did not have working phone service in this country so I ended up making a new booking. I have been trying to contact Expedia by their in app message option, website message option but they never got back to me. When I called them they had no trace of the messages that were sent through the website and app so it clearly doesn’t work and all messages just disappear into ether. Phone support has been unhelpful, I called them 2 days ago for the $560 refund of the original booking amount, they bounced me around a couple of times, finally said they will try to negotiate some refund with the rental company and get back to me in 48 hours. Not only did they not get back to me, I have received no confirmation of even a ticket being created. Even after spending $10k on travel this year through expedia, I have received horrible customer service. Needless to say, I’m never using it again and taking my business elsewhere.

After going on our first family trip to universal studios Orlando we tried to save money and purchase tickets through Expedia.. unfortunately the purchase was made for universal Hollywood... After freaking out because the purchase was over $$900 and they informed me there was a strict no refund policy I really was devastated... We were able to come up with the funds to enter Orlando but we were out the $900... After communicating with supervisor after supervisor they were able to contact Hollywood and ask for a refund. .. it took a few weeks but I was refunded the entire amount and they kept in contact with me throughout the entire process.. I'm definitely extremely grateful they went the extra mile to make that happen..I have a large family and we saved up for that family vacation for a while .. We will definitely be using Expedia again because the customer service was great!

I have loved Expedia since I started traveling on my own and the checkout process is always easy for me. Overall the app is decent and could use a few more features. For example when searching for an all inclusive on the website you can filter that option but in the app you must scroll through all hotels, motels and resorts. Also, I wish that you didn’t have to specifically search from one airport. The app states that it’s to help you find the best deal but to me the best deal would be found by checking all available airports that I am willing to travel to without having to research and put back in all of my filters every time. Also, they claim that it is cheaper to book through the app but I have always found that the better bundles are found on the website. It would also be nice if there was an “availability calendar” like on some other sights where you can see how much cheaper it would be to stay a different night. Another feature that would interest me is being able to search an entire country as your destination to try to find new and cool places to stay in a specific country.
Problem with flight date.

I used Expedia last year to book my car, hotel as well as my flight to Puerto Rico and I loved it I can’t complain. However this year I decided to go over my brother in law who loves to book through the flight Airlines themselves to avoid problems and decided to book through Expedia. I looked for the flights I wanted and called the agent to inform what flight information I was interested in. They were very nice, I also confirmed that my flight was from August 21 to Orlando and coming back on the 27th I informed I’m going with family and we rented a villa and the lady helped me find the tickets got my information and I paid. I quickly glanced at the confirmation email and I though everything was great. Well a couple a days ago I look at the flight to print out the information and have realized and error was made. Instead of the 27th on the return ticket we have the 28th. When I called the agent in Expedia they told me there was nothing they can do and a fee of 200 per ticket was going to apply if we did any changes. Now I’m in Florida and the room that we have at the villa is up to the 27th. On the 27th we will have to find another hotel for me and my 2 children so we can spend one night. This is not easy to do. I’m not happy. I think next time I will listen to my brother in law.

Words simply cannot explain how irritated I am with EXPEDIA . I booked a room and was charged for it. As I pulled up to the hotel I received a call from the receptionist at the hotel telling me that there were no rooms available and they didn’t t know why Expedia booked me. I immediately called Expedia and I was put on hold for more than 50 minutes at least 3 times. This was a Saturday night. When I did get someone on the line, the kept telling me that they had to call the hotel to see if I could be refunded my money. Simply giving me the run around. It wasn’t until the following Monday that someone told me I would be refunded but it would take 7 days and it wouldn’t be the whole amount . I was like Hell No, I want my money back immediately. Why can’t people do the right thing???? Why do they Nickel and dime people. I will NEVER use this company again. It is so disrespectful to leave people on hold for a long period of time hoping they will hang up. This is so wrong and extremely unprofessional. STOP TAKING PEOPLE’s Money if you aren’t going to go over and beyond to make sure they are accommodated and treated with the utmost respect. Unacceptable! I will do everything I can to spread the word about this company.

It’s been years since I last saw him and now that my friend Kip told me to try this app I thought at first no it’s just like all the other apps I have. Yeah Nick says to me they are all full of bugs. Guess what yea it’s pretty easy to use and navigate and when I went looking for some useful information it wasn’t hard to locate at all and I mean at all. Why should it really be this way. HaHa I don’t know but getting used to it. The whole experience left me scratching my head and looking for my dog... yea kind of strange but not in a bad way. That’s what my neighbor Sal told me? Wow it’s a real game changer from so many areas of where I’m going and of the other locations that apps kind of take you. This is really the one I would have to say yes to and I mean yes it is a Good or should I say great coming from me. Rest my case and move on to doing the darn dishes HaHa!!

Went to reserve a hotel room. I put all the information that it needed, which meant my credit card. It charged me and everything. Then the app quit working and it didn’t give me a itinerary number or anything. So I called Expedia and explain to them that you charge me and that I got no itinerary number or a receipt saying that my room was reserved. The guy did not understand at all. He kept asking me if I wanted an upgrade and I said no I don’t want a upgrade you charge me for a room that I didn’t get The guy went on telling me there was nothing for him to do. I told him okay then I want my money back cause you charge me twice which I saw in my bank account. He told me I had to call my bank and figure it out. I am not going to call my bank for something you did. So after fighting over the phone with him for about 10 minutes about how he couldn’t do anything, he finally said that those 2 charges will be in my back on my card in 24 hours to about 48 hours. I will not be reserving anything off of Expedia again. I understand that the app will sometimes freeze, but when it does, they need to have better costumer support and not tell me to fix the mistakes they made.

Expedia app screwed me over. Due to technical issues, it did not cancel my flight reservation and now it’s after the 24 hour booking site and I’m down $150. You can’t trust apps. I recommend calling to make sure they can cancel your booking with some confirmation that it’s completely cancelled. Learned my lesson...triple check everything and make sure there is a paper trail. Good luck ya’lol. Definitely turned off by Expedia app right now and will consider another website. Update-Called their support peeps and supposedly they have screenshots of my activity and there was no error. How do I know that? They could save whatever to save their butts and money... Well if I pressed the cancel button and it doesn’t go through...is it not an error? I’m stupid for trusting that it went through and not calling. Lesson learned-no cancellations on apps. I recommend the app team come up with a way to bring attention to the fact that the app may not have processed a request. Not everyone understands that after pressing the button, it may not process. There’s no alert to let me know it didn’t cancel. I’m stupid for trusting it went through...so that’s my $150 mistake.

I would rate this company lower because of how scummy they are. We booked a room for the weekend to find out that when we got to the hotel the whole place had been sold out and expedia actually hadn’t booked us a room. Even with the confirmation number and Itinerary number stating we had a room there was nothing in the hotel. We got to the hotel @ 8 pm after a funeral with a seven week old child, a 3 & 4 year old. We had to drive 3.5 hours home that night with them screaming because we had no where to stay. To top it off when I called their customer service to get my refund, they told me it would take 7 days to process because it had already been charged. They are thieves!!! I demanded my money back immediately since I received no service. They transferred me three time before I got to a manager who could process the refund. Each time they transferred me the wait time got longer and music more annoying. This company is running a scam and they do dirty business. I would never use them again. Don’t use them if you rely on having housing when you arrive at your destination.

I booked my bundle trip with flights and hotel. They sent me a confirmation email and was charged but about an hour later I received a call by an Expedia agent telling me I had to pay an additional $280 for my departure flights because they were going to be cancelled otherwise. I tried to reason with them for about two hours that it wasn’t fair and they should honor the price but they insisted I didn’t have a choice. Finally, I tried to cancel my trip because I felt so dissatisfied with their very dishonest and unprofessional services so they threatened that I would still have to pay a total of about $1,300+ in penalty charges if I cancelled. I couldn’t believe this was happening and since I didn’t really have a choice in the matter I paid the extra money. It was honestly really sad.

Where to begin, first off I was going through Expedia to book airplane tickets for a trip to Miami. Okay first off booking the tickets is easy and quick. My problem is not there but going through the app the transaction wouldn’t go through but look at my account and they took the money out of my account. Smh, called them immediately and they tell me they don’t see anything on my Expedia account. I’m like you should cause there was a debit against my account multiple times. So to speed this up, argued with some agent for an hour on it coming out of my account. And that my bank can’t release the funds unless they sent me a letterhead and they refused to help me. I was like okay so since y’all took the money out can I just get y’all to confirm the plane tickets then and she stated no I had to do a new order and be charged again. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold for an hour. The lady came back on the phone just to say she is getting me a supervisor and still no supervisor 30 minutes later. I’m all the way screwed right now and stuck two extra days cause of Expedia this is an outrage.

I use Expedia a lot all over the world. Great selection, easy to find a place to stay. I am a gold member. But every time I book through the app I know that I will have to make at least one and often several phone calls to Expedia to straighten out the problems. Reservations not shown, information scrambled when transferred to hotel or airline, and other problems. Website is slightly less problematic. Most important change needed is to make most recent reservations more easily available with prices and credits shown clearly. Also needs to be more robust when app crashes due to problems like loss of WiFi or cell signal. They also mess up my name every time they make a reservation for me. They combined my first and part of my middle name as my first name and my last name and suffix as a last name when making an international flight reservation. Since my reservation name didn’t match my passport, I got processed like a drug dealer and almost was denied boarding. Another time they left my last name off a hotel reservation. The hotel told me I had no reservation.
SCAM! False advertisement and bad customer service

I booked a bundle of flight and hotel about a month ago for a trip to Cancun. After a few hours, I realized I could go for an extra day so I called Expedia and the agent said I should cancel the whole bundle and rebook so I did that. The total amount of the trip was $2,600, the agent informed me that there would be an immediate refund of about $1,100 and the rest will be refunded within 2 weeks. After 1 month of no further notice or refund payment, I decided to call Expedia but the lines were constantly busy, they wouldn’t even let me have a place in line for hold. I then emailed Expedia hoping to resolve the other $1,500 of my money. With more than 10 emails back and forth in a week, they told me that all they have in the system for refund payments total up to $1,100. How is this possible? Expedia rules highlights that you cab cancel and get a full refund within the 24 hour window. This is also standard for any airlines or hotel booking. I will never use Expedia again and writing this review for everyone to take caution in canceling their trips.

Finally i found something that was much more worse than the customer service of expedia, it is their app. It didn’t allow me to login into my account saying that limit exceeded on the first time itself. I verified my login details and tried logging in again and the message was popping up there again like your ex-gf without any mistake of yours. Moreover the app crashes more than the shares of the company in which you invested hoping to get a profit out of it. Also never go for their insurance plan unless until you have cancer or are planning to loose your leg, remember loose your leg and not hand. Because if you loose your hand you are still capable of taking a flight and wouldn’t refund. I obviously didn’t read their 5 page insurance terms and conditions and simply bought the plan. But i learnt that they were simply interested in making money and the insurance was just a scam. According to them IF AND ONLY you have an extremely serious medical condition that makes it impossible for you to walk, you cannot even file a claim.

I recently booked a flights for me and my husband to LAX on Expedia with Frontier Airlines. Now that I have purchased this ticket I find out that Frontier penalizes customers who book their flight with Expedia. If you don’t book a flight directly with Frontier, you have to pay substantially higher baggage fees. These fees are unfair. You even have to pay for a carry on bag. These fees were almost half of the cost of the flight. I’m stuck now having to pay those baggage fees, since my flight was non refundable. There were other flights I could have chosen, but since the Frontier flight was the best price, I chose it. Beware. I have another flight with America Airlines and baggage fees are the same no matter where you book the flight. Just a warning to future customers. I will never fly with Frontier again, thru Expedia or directly with the airline. That’s a shady way to do business. And it took me over an hour to even talk to a human being at Frontier.

I have booked several trip by bundling and last minute stays in the areas I’m in. There are many sites for doing the same thing. What has impressed is that when I have a issue I just call Expedia and they fix the issue. I had an issue with a airport pickup by a hotel that did not have a pickup as late as I got in, I called Expedia, they put me on hold then told me that the hotel would pick me up...and they did. Next I had an issue with a rental drop-off where the rental company would not answer my call because they were closed on Sunday, I called Expedia and they took care of it. Last I called with a app issue when I want to add my travel to a trip my wife already booked with Expedia, they found a way to package the trip saving me $$. Thanks Expedia.

Have used Expedia many times but our first Time having a problem Expedia was a nightmare. Stayed on hold over an hour just to be told that they could not contact the hotel that we were going to be staying at. But they would reach out to us in 48 hours. We just needed to add a person to our room. But because it’s a third-party you cannot do that directly with the hotel. We called Expedia they said they couldn’t reach the hotel. I hung up called hotel directly. They offered me an upgrade for $10 a night we took it ( included a pull out sofa, larger room$. No hassles no big cost no drama and I had an answer in five minutes. Expedia failed us. If I would’ve waited for Expedia who apparently do not have a good relationship with the hotels or did not actually call them, we would not have gotten what we needed (we were departing within 24 hours and Expedia knew that). I also bought the insurance ridiculous. Don’t buy the insurance it’s a ridiculous coverage read the reviews very informative.

This review mostly centered around the app. I did take a successful trip through Expedia last year and was happy with my flights and hotel. However, I cannot see my future booked trip in the app. It will not load. I’ve tried updating the app and I have a new phone so it shouldn’t be acting poorly. Please fix this bug. Also I will say we had trouble with the website when we booked this year’s trip and I had multiple pending charges on my credit card. But I called customer support and was helped. The lady assured me the erroneous pending charges would be cancelled and they were. So I think the main troubles have been with the app and website. My advice to those complaining, learn how to really read ALL the text that is listed for a hotel. And if you’re not sure of amenities, call either the hotel or Expedia before you travel.

I found a good hotel in San Francisco for a good price. But the app does not give good control over the geographical distance included in the search. The filters don’t let you specify a distance range, and the entries, when you call them up, show such a tiny map that you can’t tell where the hotel is in relation to your desired destination. Wasted time reading about hotels that turned out to be 25 miles outside the city! They let you name nearby municipalities/neighborhoods to narrow the search, which is probably part of their attempt to handle this concern. But of course, I’m not going to recognize any of those names because, (surprise, surprise), I’m a visitor traveling from out of town. A simple distance filter, and simply to display the distance from your desired city on each record, would help so much.

Will never book anything with them again nor purchase the travel insurance. Expedia and the insurance company are both scamming with each other to keep from paying for a lost night of hotel stay of our vacation due out flight not being delayed and us flying out the next day. Expedia told the insurance company they already reimbursed for the hotel stay. Which isn’t true. I asked the insurance company to provide me with the date I was supposedly reimbursed but was told they didn’t have a date. They were just going on what Expedia told them. I’ve been fighting this battle since the end of October 2018. They owe me for transportation from the airport to where we had to spend the night also. But are also refusing to pay that. So, please beware of the insurance, it’s a total rip off. You pay for it and they do nothing. Then Expedia lies so they do the insurance company doesn’t have to pay anything. Don’t book with Expedia if you don’t have to. Go with Travelocity!!!!

I always go on google flights incognito to gauge prices and then I look at Expedia and usually prices are about the same. Prices do vary by when you’re booking and what day of the week you book. I just keep checking incognito so the cookies don’t mess with the best possible prices. In the end I always book with Expedia. I’ve never had problems. It’s reliable and all my booking info is in one app even flight changes like terminal changes while you’re at the airport are very useful. Also you can access your info even if you’re offline, you’ll get the last update that was available. I use this for hotels and their bundles look great but I have never tried it. They look convenient. Not a bad app to have when you’re booking trips.

So this has happened to me over and over again. With flights and hotels. When you book directly thru Hotels and airlines they can make changes easily to your reservation and if you have any emergencies they even accommodate you despite their cancellation policies! NOT so when you book thru Expedia!! Over and over I have heard from hotels and airlines, sorry we can’t do anything because you booked thru a third party. Friends who booked thru hotel website or called could cancel or make changes, not us!! So then I call Expedia and they give me the run around, holding on the line for a long time, then the nice representative gets back and says to me yes it’s all handled and you will get a confirmation email BUT the email I get is, sorry the hotel wouldn’t cancel! But they WOULD if I didn’t have booked with Expedia because other people in my party were able to but the hotel isn’t dealing w Expedia?! Anyways I am done so this doesn’t happen anymore! My advise: book directly-no third party booking!

One star is a lot for this company they don't deserve any star, and you will know why! 😤😠😡🤬🤯😳😱😨😰😥😓👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 We made reservations with Expedia while in the US to visit Canada. We were supposed to stay at Motel 6 and we informed Expedia that we had a dog. We drove from Pa to Ontario, arrived at Motel 6 and we were turned away because Expedia failed to mention the dog. Motel 6 is pet friendly but had no rooms according to the clerk. We spent the next 4 hours searching for a room and went to the Ramada hotel which was much more expensive. Contacted Expedia once again and they refunded the cost of the room at Motel 6 but we want them to further compensate us. They were asked to pay for our stay at the Ramada and refused. Our vacation was nearly destroyed all because someone from Expedia failed to mention that we had a dog. We had a lot of trouble with the internet and using our phones was very aggravating. Someone from Expedia actually had the nerve to hang up on us while we were scrambling to find a room.
So easy, quick and convenient. I love it!!

I just booked a hotel through the Expedia app for the first time and I have to say what a quick and easy transaction. And the best part is I actually called the hotel directly before I booked the room to ask them how far the train station to the city was from the hotel and figured I may as well book it directly through the hotel but when I told them the price that I got through Expedia I was told to book it through the Expedia website/app because the price that I got was much lower than what the hotel rate directly could give me and Expedia offers the option to use a credit card to hold the room but pay at check in and I can cancel up until the day before. I'm going to use Expedia from now on!!😁

I’ve been using this app for years now, and I really don’t need it for anything complicated, I just use it for keeping track of my flights, have my itinerary on the go instead of a printout and the time frames for them, and really it serves that job very well! I don’t know who uses it for the full on use of the app for booking hotels and such, so I can’t say how they feel about this app, but I enjoy using it for my simplest of needs! I will admit that it can lead me astray a little with last minute changes at the terminals, but I can’t fault the app for that, and even then I have my email to give me info regarding those changes to boot. So yeah, if you need an app that can keep track of your itinerary and flights, I wholeheartedly recommend this app!

App is just as bad as the company! You won’t be able to talk to anyone after the have set you up with sketchy airplanes and hotels and you never get your money back!! Horrible company!! I haven’t traveled in 20 years. Wanted to do something special for my son’s 20 birthday. Expedia directed me to use Volaris and Pueblo Bonito in Cabo, Mexico. The airline was vague about the departure at 12:40. Flight was missed and immediate follow-up with Expedia and others didn’t assist me in any refund except Alamo rental! Thank God for Alamo. I will never book through Expedia or travel to Mexico again. I might have made an honest mistake (which I became aware of at the airport excited to travel), but both Expedia and Volaris’s customer service—lacking being kind and fair—left me stressed and in tears! They’ll take your money over anything! I will use other services and I will recommend to anyone else the same. After this horrible experience of losing approx $5,000 and breaking my heart about my son’s birthday, Never, never, never again!

Would normally give 5 stars for managing my trips, which I still love the app for, but they’re now trying to have you book trips through the app as well, which was a bit clunky but fine, until I got to the end and it said there was an error and that I needed to start over. Except I immediately got a confirmation email and saw the charges on my credit card. This was a bad experience, I felt insecure about whether I’d successfully booked my flight or not, but really didn’t want to book another one and pay twice. Customer service was very helpful, so again, just writing s one star review because of one specific problem, if they fix that then it’ll be back to five stars for me.

Very disappointed with Expedia. I was trying to book a round trip flight. Expedia wasn’t processing my payment (tried 5 times). Spoke with rep who tried as well and failed. I felt like there was a reason for pymt not going thru. Rep told me to try again in 2-3 days and don’t worry about price, it will remain the same (flight was for Jan, we are in nov). 2 days later price increased $100. Called again and another rep told me reason payment was not going thru is because I was choosing 2 separate airlines for my round trip ticket. Seems like not enough money could be made by my booking. My argument is, why have those flight options available if you will not process my payment? Why have me trying over and over thinking it’s my debit card being the problem, when it’s just that my bookings were not profitable enough for Expedia or the airlines. That’s BS. If you can’t process a flight, don’t have it available as an option. Definitely taking my business elsewhere from now on

I choose a cheap flight and great departure and arrival time, but I been trying to book a flight for two days and I entered all booking information and my payment and every time I was ready to book it give me an error that my “book was not able to complete at this moment, please try again later”. I contacted customer support and I told them my issue and, they were trying to do the same thing I did and had the same error. I spend 1hours on the phone with them very patiently, and at the end they just told me the issue is because the airline are changing their booking information etc.. which it doesn’t make any sense, and for that hour they were not able to told me that and nothing was resolve and they were trying to make me buy a more expensive and horrible arrival and departure times flight!! Not help at all... First time trying to book a flight from this site and It was not a great experience. won’t be back here for any of my flight matters.

If I could rate them any lower I would Honesty I never leave a bad review. It’s always been said that if you don’t have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself. I have many points that I should’ve left using this company, but this way the last straw. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. That being said, Expedia has literally done nothing but “make arrangements” and basically bold face lie. I will only talk about my most recent trip. I booked a flight (round trip). Plans changed I couldn’t leave as early as I had hoped. Totally fine. They said I’d need another ticket... not saying round trip ticket just I could t change my ticket I had. So fine I bought anther ticket there. No worries it was my fault. Called Expedia because I had made a mistake, and EXPRESSLY asked if I could check in at 1 am. The agent said no worries I will write that down no need to pay for two nights... Got to the hotel they were wrong. I still had to pay two nights. Got to the airport to leave. No show for my one ticket... so I had to buy another ticket. Did Expedia have my back for either offense. Nope. Not after I have used them for every booking for the last 5 years of my life. Long story short, do your own research and book yourself both vendors said if I booked through them they could help. Expedia is basically your uncle that sells you lemon car then Refuses to take any responsibility for it being crap.

Expedia is my favorite & primary go to app for the best airline, hotel, package deals. I will always remember how graciously they took care of our family when my mother died 8 years ago & we needed to have her brought from Los Angeles to Milwaukee. Our family of 4 needed to fly the next day & they kindly gave us bereavement fares that were under $1000 for next day flight plus a return one. We were told if we needed to make a change the return date to just call them. I’ve used Expedia to book several hotel stays & discounted flights & pay the same , a few dollars less or sometimes 10% plus less when compared to other similar sites I use to compare prices. Customer service is very important to me & Expedia, you rock!

Awful experience cause they told me that my flight was canceled by Turkish airlines. But that wasn’t true as a turkish representative told me it wasn’t after I called them. Expedia kept telling me they were trying to fix it, so i was waiting till the last minute for the expedia staff to fix their issue. They did not fix it, it was all just a ruse. I was on the phone with them for hours and talked to a “manager” who put me on hold for 45 min and then simply hung up on me. I was forced to buy my own ticket and Expedia kept telling me they wouldnt pay for anything cause it wasnt their fault the flight got cancelled....but the flight wasn’t canceled. They had failed to properly book the ticket and simply kept putting blame on the airline and dragging me along from one agent to another until I ran out of time and forced into buying a different ticket. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA or any other third party company for that matter. Theres no point. Just book straight from an airline, at least they can be held accountable.

On my first trip to Europe, I booked my plane ticket and lodging through Expedia. I was very at ease knowing if I ran into any issues I could call Expedia. Only twice did I need to do so and the customer service agents were very reassuring to address and solve my situation. I would only point out, I booked a plane ticket from London to Paris through Vueling Airlines based in Barcelona. If you book coach and need to make changes, you will need to go directly through Vueling. Expedia will not be able to help. Vueling can be challenging to deal with on the app and recommend calling them instead. And because Vueling offers inexpensive trips, in the long run it may end up being more Expensive. Over all, Expedia was there for me.... Thank you.

I’ve used this a few times to book hotels and never had any issues, however this last time I booked several, as we were going on a cross country move and needed pet friendly accommodations and you can’t use that filter on the app so I had to use the website. you can’t choose options like “close to the highway”, Or “can accommodate truck/trailer parking” so that was another headache trying to make sure the hotels weren’t too far out of the way. One of our hotels was just AWFUL and I went to write an HONEST review to warn other potential guests and they wouldn’t allow my review to be posted because ‘they only allow positive reviews’ which kinda upsets me as I spent money to stay in a hotel where I felt unsafe yet that I could have avoided had others reviews been allowed to be posted. I would highly suggest doing your own homework about hotels you are about to book so you don’t have a terrible experience in a sketchy hotel. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use again.

This is not a very good company at all and I was not respected at all my room was cancelled without me even knowing company didn’t even try calling me to notify me about these changes in then when I got to the room where I was going the front desk had to notify me it was cancelled in the representatives that I spoke with was very rude to me in so long story short I finally got a room at motel six it looked nice had a kitchen in everything me my kids in spouse got all comfortable turned off lights for a sec turned the lights back on roaches on the counter top crawling everywhere then we began looking for things that was wrong with the room after this point it was all kinds of stains on our covers the worst service ever never will I ever go through this connection again in never will I ever get another room with motel six again I’m not bashing anyone or company, but I wanted you guys to know how I was treated in I didn’t even call to get my money back .. but no big deal lesson learned never again!!

I can tell you that I will NEVER book through Expedia EVER AGAIN! I booked our flight for our WEDDING, got the protection plan in case we wanted to change the flight, and now they are telling me that I can’t. I called multiple times and was told “there was nothing they could do”. I said I bought the procreation plan because it specifically said the change or cancel a flight was covered 100%. When in actuality, they are telling me that my particular flight is not under that protection plan. I asked them why they bothered to offer it then for $96 extra per person, if I wasn’t going to be able to use it to begin with. I put in a claim with the plan, and was still denied. Please tell me Expedia, what exactly DOES your plan cover? This is my WEDDING which you are now ruining because you refuse to tell my why I can’t change my flight. Screw you guys and believe me, I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know to NEVER book through this scam of a website. Hope you guys are happy.

I’ve used Expedia many times and it hasn’t been as awful as this time. We went to book our flight home from NY and we didn’t get our itinerary for the flight. With the company they booked our flight home with it was a small company. The company had many rules with baggage and arrival times that would have been good to know by Expedia. We got to the airport an hour early ( it shouldn’t have taken us longer) when the airline said they couldn’t take our baggage because it was too late and we had missed the flight. The airline told us they couldn’t accommodate us for missing the flight because we booked through a third party for the flight. When I called Expedia to see what they could do they wouldn’t help out at all. I ended up waiting on the phone for 30 minutes just for them to tell me all they could do is book another flight for me and it would cost more money. I will never book with Expedia again for anything.

Customers need to do some due diligence when using Expedia, you will find its sometimes cheaper booking direct with hotels, especially abroad. often times Expedia does not guarantee the best possible price. On a recent trip to Rosarito Mexico i booked a ocean side suite for 2 nights on a weekday, i though i got a bargain for the suite as a typical suite in US can be hundreds of dollars especially with an ocean view, as i later found out from talking to the hotels reservations department they advertise a significantly far lower price on the hotels home page which is a standard rate year round without fluctuation. Which was Expedias copout answer that they have no control over market fluctuation even if rates go down. Again the standard rate starts and begins far lower than Expedias price year round. So Expedia gave me $25 to my account for a future reservation, after they price gauged me and up sold a room for hundreds of dollars more. Not kidding, it was no nickel or dime in difference, it was hundreds.

I'm not a frequent traveler, but I do like three idea of building an account that will give me long term benefits. The design of the app is user friendly. I planned an entire trip to California for three and a couple other small getaways and it works, for the most part workout a hitch. There are a few things that I get annoyed by, 1. The double points thing I think it's just bait to get you to download the app, it's probably some loop hole they are able to use one probably your first purchase, or something similar. It's misleading, and it annoys me. 2. Map integration in this app is terrible. Recently went down to the keys, and the hotel address was nowhere near where the pin dropped from the app, had to Google it in the end. 3. You can't review the hotels after your trip through the app. It doesn't make sense that I've gotta log in online to be able to write the review when the app should have a rating interface. Lastly, I'd like to see Expedia become more competitive with their pricing, I've had the chance to download other traveling apps, and saw the difference. I'm still just a +blue member member, whatever that means, hopefully if I make it to silver I'll see some actual discounts.

The front desk clerk upon check in was friendly, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have a breakfast option. However, our first night there, there was no soap. Housekeeping’s reply was “we are out, we left extra shampoo and I don’t know what to tell you”. Seriously, how do you run out of soap at a hotel? The tub was very slippery and there was no mat (on order). On our third night, we came back to the room after a VERY long day of exploring to find that our room was not cleaned. While I like the fact that water was not wasted on laundering the sheets, I do like climbing in to a tidy, made bed at the end of a day as well as having supplies replenished. The continental breakfast uses styrofoam plates, bowls and cups which is not very environmental friendly and lastly the bathroom had fresh texturing but no paint (room 325 in case holiday inn is reading this)...rather tacky. We would probably not stay here again.
Can’t book multiple cities

My 1st & foremost biggest #1 complaint is one can NOT book multiple cities flights on the app, defiantly can’t book hotels in multiple cities either. Ie: on app cant book O’Hare to athens, the on way back Naples to O’Hare. Now, one can do this on the actual Expedia site, however most ppl these days book on app. That’s why Kayak rocks better. Also, one should be able to both book multiple city trips with different air ports, AND also at same time (for more dicounts) ALSO be able to book hotels for those various cities as well. Finally, I recently married & changed my last name (quite sure very common) however app not letting me change to my new last name. Opportunities for improvements.
Expedia iPad app needs improvement, lags behind

Some basic feature functionality is missing that means it lags behind Booking’s app to a material degree. - can’t save favorite hotels to a list (a no brainer) - more detailed info about a particular property or room is presented as a bunch of text, like literally just dumped into an open text field, not user friendly at all - when I go to reserve a room, not all of my user info is saved so it’s midnight and dark in my bedroom, then I need to get out of my bed, fetch my credit card to give it my CVV (Booking’s app doesn’t require this, what gives?) - slow app at times and less responsive than Booking - visually more simple than Booking app means it borders on being dumbed down and simplistic (app devs took simple design way too far here and are sacrificing richer presentation of important data) - feels like it still requires way too many presses and swipes - inability to change dates “on the fly” (have to back out of hotel results page and re-enter dates on start search page) - Expedia, you guys need to hurry and catch up, no wonder Booking continues taking market share from you IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD - you guys spend literally billions on tech and cloud and still can’t produce a competitive app

I accidentally booked the wrong night for a hotel stay. Called Expedia to correct the error within 5 minutes. They claimed they needed the hotel’s permission to cancel, but that the department at the hotel that could cancel it was unavailable. Assured us they would contact the hotel within 24 hours and get back to us. Next day we got an email saying they were still in the process of contacting the hotel. Same thing the next day. Called customer service again and was told the department at the hotel was still unavailable. Went through this same process 4 days in a row. Finally called the hotel myself. Hotel said they would have no problem canceling but Expedia would have to call since they had my money and also confirmed that Expedia had not ever tried to contact them about cancelling the reservation. Eventually got an email from Expedia saying the hotel denied the cancellation and we would be charged.

This review is about customer service (or lack of) and not particularly the app. After realizing I made a mistake and booked my hotel in the wrong city, I quickly made the correct reservations and called to cancel the incorrect hotel. I was placed on hold while they contacted the hotel to cancel. Once they returned to my line they stated that the hotel manager was not there and they were the only ones who could cancel the hotel. Expedia was to follow up with the hotel and then follow up call would be made to me confirming that it was cancelled and I wouldn’t be charged. Guess what was charged?!?! I called Expedia back and again the same situation. Placed on hold until returned and again they were not able to reconcile my issue. This time CS stated they had no record of my 1st call to cancel. OH!! AND..I was charged for 3nights the full booking too!! Again a follow up call was supposed to be given to me and I still have not received a call.

I advise everyone before you even book with Expedia go through the airlines itself. I had an accidental cancellation and they would not help me with getting that exact flight back. The only way to do so is to pay a exchange fee of $200 which leaves me with really nothing to get on the flight I originally booked. I have talked to multiple people All they did was give me run around for hours between Hawaiian airlines and the rep at Expedia still with no help on resolving this matter. They don’t care about their customers all they want is money. And $200 of my “airline credit” and the full payment for the exact same flight exact info everything. No matter how much I explained the cancellation was not suppose to happen. Never do business with this company! They are crooks with no care for anyone. So I lose out on the entire trip booked because of an accident. Never again will I spend my money through Expedia.

This is the first time I have given ANY company a bad review because mistakes can happen,but in this case it was not just a mistake. This was incompetence of epic proportions. I just completed a 61/2 hour quest to use my $12 worth of rewards. I should have quit after an hour but by then it was just a matter of principle. After another hour of phone calls and 2 hours on my iPad trying to book a room it became a quest. Then after another 2 hours on my iPad and iPhone and a total of 2 hours on hold and another 2 hours talking to 4 customer service people (and I use that term loosely) I finally did reach someone who could assist me in my reservation and using my $12 worth of rewards. So I will never ever use Expedia again but if you have nothing to do and you would like to spend 61/2 hours wasting your time making a reservation and using your reward points I highly recommend Expedia.
