Premium vs free
by badappandservice on 2019/11/17 00:04
When getting the app. It tells you, that you have a choice. I signed up at my gym and I cannot figure out how to get the free, and can’t see where to cancel. I’ve been with three employees from lifetime spas and they can’t figure it out either?? Tunein contacted me , and just told me how to unsubscribe. But gave zero help on how to get the free tunein? And never offered me a refund despite contacting them the first day, and finally figured out how to unsubscribe two days later , although I’d contacted them the first day! Others at my gym have had the same problem with them! It took four requests for tunein and 3with Apple to get an answer to my question... ohh and 10.00 that they wouldn’t refund, al though I contacted them in the first 24 hrs and never used the app once

I repeatedly get an introduction loop when I play WEAA 88.9, music plays for 5 seconds then loop repeats itself. Smh.
Huge scam!
by NFLfan2019 on 2019/11/16 23:26
Added a star due to the reply appreciate you tanking the time to do so. I’d recommend notifying users prior to being charged. Original review: This app will auto charge you $99.99 a year (did this twice to me before I noticed) then a pain to resolve (was only able to get one charge refunded). Tried this app once in 2018 and here I am in 2019 having to get issues resolved, as after I deleted it from my phone it still auto charged me. There are a ton of free nfl podcasts, I’d recommend those.

Can’t cancel it
by Carlos Luna Jr. on 2019/11/16 17:21
I downloaded the app to give it a tried. I chose a 30 day trial. I was charged the $10 immediately. That’s fine. I don’t want it anymore a be charged $10/monthly. THERE IS NOW WAY TO CANCEL THIS SUBSCRIPTION. That’s plain not honest. BE CAREFUL! Once I figure out a way to cancel my subscription will post another comment explaining how to do it.
Got tired of buffering
by GuapoRuiz on 2019/11/16 13:14
I’ve been a loyal TuneIn follower but enough is enough. Every station buffers every minute. I took steps to keep it from happening but not avail. I’m giving other apps a chance, hopefully they won’t give me any problems.

Too many advertisements
by Sunshine-212199 on 2019/11/15 23:59
I try to listen but there are just too many advertisements and it drives me crazy. I have to turn it off. Furthermore, the ads are repetitive. I know each one by heart. I know I have the option to upgrade. Regardless, there shouldn’t be so many ads and repetitive ads.
Tunein is wonderful!
by SP in San Pedro on 2019/11/15 22:37
I’m an expat, living in Belize, and Tunein allows me to keep track of what’s happening back home in Champaign, Illinois via a local radio station. It also allows me to listen to good jazz whenever I feel like it on WGBH in Boston. Sound quality is great! Tunein keeps me sane!
Terrible
by gutternurse on 2019/11/15 18:03
Just keeps repeating over and over. Frustrating!
Review
by drd987654321 on 2019/11/15 16:40
I like Tune In radio, use it daily. Love it. What I am getting tired of the app asks me too often to review it. I click thumbs up and a week or two later it asks me again. Please stop asking or I am soon to go negative on it.
The absolute worst!!
by Divrchik on 2019/11/15 14:34
I hate this app sofa king much. Today it won’t even open correctly, it records all commercials and cuts off the program. Play back often studders and jumps around. This app is so annoying and I wish there was another way to live stream my favorite channels. And yes, I tried the premium version and it was even worse.
Slow
by 99hotdog on 2019/11/15 02:02
The radio buffer lot. It gets hung up lots. The app freezes lot. The ads take up the whole app very annoying. It drains my battery to 100 to 34% in 1 minute. Garbage updates. Fix this broken app.
Very misleading.
by Fitzjim on 2019/11/14 19:08
They say you can cancel anytime but them make it virtually impossible to do so. Find a more friendly app than this one.

Enjoying listening to foreign stations. Really quite nice.
This USED to be a great app
by Kevin98112 on 2019/11/13 21:10
The new improved product is the absolutely worst update of all time. CNN for instance through the app repeats itself in 30 second sound bites for hours at a time. Over and over the sound bite continues. It fixes itself than goes back to the stutter performance, repeating the sound bite over and over. Deleted and reloaded the app. Nothing changes. This was one of my favorites, but nothing improves the Tune-in experience
4 stars
by anonymous1131 on 2019/11/13 19:07
I got this app because I wanted to listen to Indiana Basketball legend Don Fischer during the game. Unfortunately the app broadcasted his radio show about 4 mins behind real time, which I felt isn’t right with radio. Radio should be in real time.
Car Mode bug
by Guephiltefich on 2019/11/13 18:39
Car mode, on the top of its main screen, shows the name of the station being currently played. When the user selects another station from the "Recents", the new station name is not shown on the main screen. The previous station name continues to show in the main screen, even though the audio of the newly selected station is now being played.

Trouble with nfl streams
by Evan7676 on 2019/11/13 13:39
I’ve had major issues with this app. The only thing I listen to are the NFL streams (which, of course, are not free). It’s a pretty bad listen. It constantly buffers and it will randomly jump back a few seconds. Then I have to jump ahead. It’s really easy to miss plays. I want to listen to radio broadcasts of nfl games so I don’t have a choice but this app makes it incredibly difficult
Love it

The WORST RADIO APP
by marez71 on 2019/11/12 10:27
Advertises same commercial like 10 times their forcing you to buy the “app” I deleted it
Beware of forced upgrade
by pmybtx184 on 2019/11/12 03:42
The app works well, but in order to download the “free” version, you are forced to take on a “Pro” trial, that you will be charged for if you don’t opt out in less than a week. I was unable to find where you need to go to do the opt out right away & then forgot to go back & look harder, so I had to pay. I finally found it in “My Subscriptions” under my Apple ID.
Political bias?
by Jbpdx on 2019/11/12 02:55
Why does MSNBC always seem to experience streaming “errors”? It’s happening more and more frequently lately.
do not buy
by dm19114 on 2019/11/12 02:25
bad app half the time the stream says error not avaliable the other half the time when listening to a game the stream goes dead for mins at a time and also u will be listening and it will keep repeating wasted 9.99$ ur better off just joining sirus xm thats what im gonna do now
Scam
by Fjjffjjtjdhehdfh on 2019/11/12 01:45
Be very careful. I wanted to listen to one thing. I thought I was doing a “risk free” free trial for 7-days and they charged me $10 right away. I cancelled my subscription within an hour or two and didn’t access any premium content. So mad. They make confusing on purpose so you get charged.
NBR FM
by reviewjw on 2019/11/12 01:42
I don’t trust these people. There is something fishy. They contacted me about doing an interview. I said sure. The interviewer clearly did not care one iota about doing the interview. He did not care about sound quality. People commented about what a bad interviewer he was. The next day I got a call. They wanted all this money and went on about how great I was and if I just pay up they will give me 30 minutes. When I didn’t pay, all the links to my interview disappeared and the email from which they wrote me now says undeliverable. It is all so shady.

by New Gamer 1323 on 2019/11/11 05:07
The 2019 Volvo XC 90 is the most awarded luxury SUV of the century. I know this because I hear this same ad every. single. time. I use this app. Multiple times. It’s inescapable. It burrows into the psyche. Great app other than that.
Too many ads
by The Daily Cindy on 2019/11/10 23:39
There are way too many ads on the app now. I only gave 2 stars because at least the app continues to work after phone calls.
Buffering is Awful
by nickname17873 on 2019/11/10 22:51
Repeats broadcasts every 20 seconds - ive been experiencing this for over 3 months now with no improvements. App and phone is up to date. This happens even if i rewind before the buffer point. Would be ok if it was free- but at $10 a month, I kinda feel like a sucker.

So excited to hear the live radio broadcast of my home announcer. Then it just keeps looping. So disappointing.
Not happy
by Vee0415 on 2019/11/10 21:25
My boyfriend and I have signed up for premium. Listened to the first ballgame today, 44 seconds left in the game and the app stopped working. MISSED THE GAME DECIDING FIELD GOAL!!! Not to mention it stopped to buffer MANY other times through the game. Waste of money! If you are a real fan of football (or any other sport for that matter), don't risk missing the most important moments of your game by purchasing this app. So disappointed!!

by KashandBiddy on 2019/11/10 15:09
I used to love this app. I have used it for years! Then recently it started hijacking my phone. How this app kept my phone locked up to the point no buttons would work and it wouldn’t respond is beyond me. Tried to reboot and THE APP KEPT RUNNING DURING REBOOT. That shouldn’t be possible! Today I unlocked my phone and suddenly TuneIn begins playing....when the app isn’t even launched and hasn’t been in weeks. Devs, you lost me by hijacking my phone and clearly have some enormous bugs to work on. See ya.
The Giant Amount Dwarves
by Melbourne from Florida, USA on 2019/11/10 12:39
Tunein is by far my favorite one-stop place to go online when I want to get a taste of the cultures and current events in different countries. I do travel extensively and Tunein helps to keep me in touch and bring the world much closer to me. I especially love the multifaceted ways by which I can search for media programs whether by specific names or by media types or by location within each country. I am a radio head and there is no better place that I can go to quickly find and experience the sounds and musics of various artists. Imagine that I live in the USA, I don’t speak Spanish or German yet my favorite reggae radio station is in Nicaragua and my favorite jazz station is in Germany. All made possible by Tunein. Tunein is a great example of the benefits one can only enjoy from being on the the internet. Thanks Tunein! Melbourne from Florida, USA

Repeats itself
by Phi Z 3 on 2019/11/09 18:47
I love the variety of stations and choices, but why does the radio keep kicking back and replaying itself? It very irritating to hear the same music/information over and over. I would love to rate it higher but can’t because of the constant repeating.

Promises Great Things but Frustratingly Delivers
by TehHota on 2019/11/08 15:57
I have been using this app for a few months now and love that I can listen to so many radio stations across the country for free. However, using this app drives me absolutely crazy as it will repeatedly skip backwards 10 sec while listening. I can’t get through a morning radio show without hearing the same thing a dozen times. If the app developers can fix this and get the app to provide a more reliable stream, I would give the app 5 stars, but until then, I will not recommend this app.

by Jup92 on 2019/11/07 03:06
It seems when listening live to news programs in the evening, the app will replay the last few seconds every 10 seconds or so. Very annoying! I don’t know how it is keeping up with the live version. Have to shut it off and do something else instead. Doesn’t happen everyday, but frequently.
Repeating audio
by MyCaRealtor on 2019/11/06 20:23
I’ve been experiencing audio clips repeating several times before continuing. I listen mostly to talk radio so it’s rather annoying. It’s happened when connected to WiFi and LTE. I typically have good internet so I don’t believe it’s my connection. Any clues?

Great app, poor buffering
by SJLenz on 2019/11/06 14:25
I love this app, it allows me to catch my stations when I travel. I love the ability to pause and continue listening when I need to run in the store for a quick errand. I hate its poor buffering capability. I drive good distances through week signal areas. Very often the app will spin its wheels and give me large periods of no radio while it struggles to buffer. I recommend using Pandora as a baseline for expected behavior. The app also will restart me to live radio as I move between WIFI and Cellular. I miss the paused sections of time that I stepped out to get my kids from school.

by sadmegm on 2019/11/05 23:53
I downloaded this app to listen to a football game so I got the 1 month free option. I cancelled IMMEDIATELY after the game for fear of being charged. Well, 1 month later not only was a charged for a month but a YEAR!!! $105 gone from my account. There’s no number to call so I had to email. No word back yet but if I don’t get a response I will fight until I get a refund this is insane. Idk about y’all but I’m a poor college student working so hard to pay bills while juggling school with almost no money left after expenses. This $105 payment out of nowhere put me late on my cc bill for the first time ever. I’m so upset and disgusted with this whole thing. Unless you’re rich don’t waste your time.

Confusing app
by SoCalJinxJinx on 2019/11/05 19:08
I downloaded this app but immediately a window popped up offering the premium app for a 7-day trial period and then I would be billed $9.99/month. I’m afraid if I press “Listen now” I will automatically be enrolled in the premium version, but there is no other option. Maybe in the future I will enroll but I need to try the app out first. I find this very confusing and deceptive so I am deleting the app before I ever try it out.
Radio streams keep repeating and looping
by KAØEGE on 2019/11/05 17:17
In the last few months I have been increasingly frustrated with this app. To the point I am about ready to delete it. For many months now, while streaming different radio streams, the stream repeats the last 20-30 seconds over and over... today it did it do much that my stream was 5 minutes behind and I heard the same clip about 5 times repeated. Please fix as this makes it impossible to use your app. Thanks! Btw, my Wifi is fine.
Good but could be better
by Akchel49 on 2019/11/05 17:12
Got these instructions from the developer for bypassing the trial offer. When you download the app and open it for the first time, it should give you an option to try our 7-day free trial. If you would like to opt-out of this, there should be an "X" on the top right of the screen that you can click. This should give you access to all of our free content! That worked. Thank you!

Dreadful
by Awax941 on 2019/11/05 13:04
I hate this app. The stream is interrupted 15-20 times with additional commercials outside of the regular commercials. The worst and most insulting part is that the commercial will repeat 3 or 4 times consecutively. By time you’re able to actually get to the show it’s time for the stations commercials. Radio.com is standing head & shoulders above this

Best radio app ever! With just a push of a button I can listen tto local, national, & international news; any MLB game; NFL, NBA, College, and listen to countless audiobooks! It's the first app button I push before starting any work on the internet! Premium is so worth the low monthly cost for the return value!!

If you’re not careful you will be charged annual subscription of $99.00, even if you do t have the app. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

As I have aged, my sleep ability has become worse and worse. In the middle of the night (US time), I set the timer and love the many things interesting and enlightening that I learn and enjoy on ABC Radio Australia. I especially like PK on RN Drive. Now, instead of my mind racing, thus halting my sleep, I enjoy diversified stories and some music. Thank you!!
Great Radio and sports coverage but auto-charged me $100 NO REFUNDS
by Fudludder on 2019/11/03 06:04
I had the free app (or so I thought) last year but this year Oct rolled around and they auto charged me $100. Now I’m overdrawn on my bank account and can’t listen to it cause I can’t pay my Apple $4.99 monthly charge. NO REFUNDS so it really screwed me up. If you pay for a year (or get screwed by autopay) go ahead and cancel it right away after you get billed because it will still let you use what’s been paid for, or in my case the next year at least?? I don’t even know what I get for the $100.00?? Must be everything, I’LL HOPE FOR LIFETIME!!! The Music is pretty much junk because you haven’t any control over skipping a song or offline use. It will pretty much let you listen to anything on the radio from anyplace but with today’s music streaming availability it’s a mute point. SPORTS RADIO it’s probably the best thing out there if you just want radio audio. I have the NFL channel and NFL Redzone so all the pro football is mute again. All other major team sports that aren’t on the tube or streamed it will keep you listening. I know I can usually do an internet search and find a station for free but this is convenient, just stupid expensive. I used to be a downhill ski racer and no coverage on that sport. Probably no lumberjack or Polka Dance contests either! Just remember to cancel after you buy it or you may get screwed like me. V/R
Tunein radio vs Premium Read the description!
by thechizwoman on 2017/12/21 21:47
I just downloaded Tunein radio. You have to be careful and read everything before you tap GET. I noticed that I was taken fo a screen that gave you a choice between 7 days or 30 days for free trial for Tunein Premium but does not disclose amount which is not good business honesty to display in my opinion. I was confused and just clicked on the X to the left and got out. However I went back and read all of Tunein radio description and it DOES tell you the difference between the plain Tunein vs the premium But you need to read carefully. When I don’t understand where I am I look for that X. Anyway I checked to see if I was charged and I wasn’t so I did the right thing. Tunein Radio is free. The radio station I was looking for endorsed Tuneinradio to find their station. I will give it sometime and then probably will change it to a 4 Star because I just got it today. So far I am pleased because I have the radio station I wanted.😊
Not as good as iHeart Radio
by Donny from Queens on 2019/08/01 14:42
The app does well for streaming live radio stations. Where it falls flat is podcasts. It doesn’t remember where I left off in a particular one. Instead, it starts me off at the very beginning 19 times out of 20. I have to take screen shots of the time (if I can remember) when I exit, and then I usually have to wait a minute for it to slowly buffer up to, say, minute 47 of an hour long podcast when I come back o finish ... SUPER annoying. They throttle the download rates to conserve bandwidth on their end for sure. Contrast this with iHeart radio, which remembers where I left off in ANY given podcast and starts me off there. Where this gets REALLY bad is if I exit the app for a minute. Unless I exit and come back within about 10 seconds, it will forget where I left off and I have to go through the whole thing again (except I didn’t screen shot it, so I don’t know the time). It’s garbage on this point, good for live radio, and I don’t use the rest of the functionality. Unfortunately, radio stations go for tunein or iHeart, so there isn’t a choice ... but I would use iHeart for podcasts EVERY TIME over tunein if I could.
Cumbersome
by TradeWorthy iTunes on 2018/03/05 12:18
I’ve been using Tunein for several years. I use it to listen to favorite radio stations from places I used to live. Tunein used to be much simpler and smoother to operate. I have an older iPhone 6, so maybe it’s the phone, but this is my first iPhone, so my comments are based on my experience with Tunein running on the same device. One problem is Tunein stops now when I access a web site. Once the site loads, if I go back to Tunein and hit play, it resumes, but it seems like that should be automatic. Tunein in used to resume on its own when it hit a glitch. If it can play, why do I have to ask it to? This problem may be the station (HFS), but the Tunein screen used to show the name of the song the station was playing, but it no longer does. Tunein just seems more sluggish and awkward than it used to, and over time, it ought to get smoother and more efficient.
Good app
by Superquinho on 2019/04/03 13:58
I wrote a really bad review before (read it below), and to be fair, I’m back to update. They seem to improve this App. - The random Ads are gone, so no more paid ads during radio programs. - 30 seconds reward/forward function is back The loosing of the track once you receive a phone call, or a video/audio starts playing on another app, still an issue. So if you’d like to reward 30 seconds of missed radio stream, you’re with no luck! Well, hopefully they’ll hire back whoever developer was able to add that feature back in the days! DO NO PAY FOR THIS!!!! Use the free version and save some frustration at least. I’ve been using TuneIn for at least 4 years.... and every “upgrade” this app is getting worse! I listen to a Brazilian radio station, and when they are talking the app thinks its a commercial so a Lowe’s, Home Depot and another ad from TuneIn kicks in and I miss the interview or whatever is happening! And it’s always 2 or 3 ads only.... I don’t remember because all I do it’s curse on the 5th generation of the developers :/ The latest version they got rid of the 30seconds rewind/forward! C’mon developers..... really?!?!?! And the feature I miss the most is that if another audio/video comes up, like a phone call/FaceTime you lose the streaming, having to go back to the app and press play. Back in the days, this wasn’t necessary. Over all, it works, but on the pace this is going, in a near future, you’ll only be able to listen to their paid Ads :/

by New orchid on 2017/10/12 20:31
I'm gonna say I like this app because it's got plenty of options besides books. My other app was audible for five years but they have an egregious method of getting new books. Tune in app has all sorts of books and documentaries and music and a wide variety of interesting stuff! By egregious I mean you can't get new books on the app but rather you go to the actual site and pick the book and download the book and then back out to the app and "wait". It's just a dinosaur and I need books on demand because I'm a member of a book club. Your price is quite hefty but it's totally worth it. By the way why don't you offer "war brides"? I can't find it for book club
Audiobooks gone!! 😞
by DomE080808008080808 on 2018/01/17 16:32
Many users might not be big Audiobook listeners but I am, and considering the high monthly prices for every other audiobook app out there (like Audible or Audiobooks), TuneIn was the best option! I remember when I started using this app, there were a few users and it clearly needed some app work, but I was positively surprised to find the vast collection of audiobooks in the app (with the premium subscription). TuneIn didn’t require you to pay for every new audiobook you listen to but had free amount of audiobooks for the monthly subscription price, apart from all the other radio, news stations and podcasts available. Since I only listen to Audiobooks and Podcasts, there is really no reason for me to keep paying for this app. This is a hue disappointment! I think that if TuneIn would have advertised their audiobook potential they would’ve received a vast amount of new users and a lot would have preferred it over the established Audible/Audiobooks app. If you decide to bring the audiobook section back let me know! I’ll be happy to pay for the subscription!
CBS yanked all their stations away from Tunein
by 4th Doctor fan on 2018/08/21 20:20
*To those reviews about subscription or trial period.. you DON'T need to sign up for the Premium service, nor do you need to sign up for Trial period (which does roll into a Premium paid service if you don't cancel, so just DON'T sign up for Trial period, you can just skip past anything regarding signing up). You can listen for FREE, without having to signup for anything. Too bad that CBS pulled all their CBS Sports and CBS Local News stations off from Tunein (but that is not Tunein's fault). And other censorship concerns would only apply if this were a government run service, which it is not. Those commentators have the right to free speech (with their own broadcast antenna, their own newspaper, their own website, etc) for their views, but other companies such as this can not be compelled to distribute such speech if they choose not to carry it. ---orig--- **Everyone needs to complain directly to CBS Radio (and their Entercom owner)... So evidently CBS Radio (and Entercom, who merged with them) is who forced all of their stations off of Tunein as of July/August, requiring you to use their own radio app instead (which is highly inferior to Tunein). Also, that CBS/Entercom app is not supported by Roku and other services (the way Tunein app was used by Roku). First CBS forces you onto their own subscription service for streaming TV, now they do the same thing for radio. Sad !!
A very fine internet tuner - though buffering is question
by Illuminer on 2017/11/18 18:05
So far, this is my favorite radio internet tuner. It covers so many fine stations, and allows you to buffer or store a station's past minutes if you put it on hold. It has tendency to go into a buffer mode erratically and repeats several previous seconds every so often. Actually, a bit too often for comfort. Otherwise, it works flawlessly. As it does store buffered sections, I wish there was a way to know when I'm listening to buffered sections and how many minutes it has buffered, or is in its "live" radio mode , as well being able to optionally go back and rehear previous sections of the broadcast. An update button to shift to live or shift to the buffered sections would be nice. One other needed fix is that quite often, the banner naming the program doesn't match. "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" is listed as "Car Talk"
Great Radio App But Could Be Improved
by Jean in Tennesee on 2018/03/16 15:06
Update on review: None of these issues have been addressed. There should be something they could do to let the app continue to play when I access a web page which has a SILENT video. Original review: I have used this app for a few years now and I love it! I can listen to music and talk programs which I like much better than what is broadcast on my local stations. However, the app will often stop playing when I navigate to web pages. Usually I find that the page has a video ad which automatically but silently playing somewhere on the page. PLEASE fix this problem! There is no need for the radio to stop playing during a SILENT video. I also like to use the sleep timer at night, but in recent versions the app no longer shows how much time remains on the timer. Please fix this so we can see how much time is left. I also wish the sound was louder. I use my iPad as a portable radio and need to keep it at maximum volume when I'm only a short distance from the iPad. When there is background noise in the room, such as water running, it's often hard to hear the programs unless I use an external amplified speaker. I know my iPad's speakers can handle more volume because some of the video ads on my games are a lot louder than TuneIn.
Frustrating no one to ever talk to. No human voice customer service.
by How Eye C It on 2019/07/10 07:17
This is so annoying. You try to reach out at the time you need help but it has to be EMAIL of course you don’t get a response for hours. By that time you are off to work so you do nothing but email tag just to have a few questions answered. It takes days. FAQ area doesn’t help for anything. It just explains the things they want to talk about. So finally having a moment again to get on email that I’m waiting for and I see it was answered they ask for screenshots now (even though it is explain perfectly)stating they need to see what I am explaining which I believe it’s because the person that opened my email didn’t know how to fix it so it’s his way of passing it on for someone else to answer it. I send off screenshots attached to the reply and it’s been all day and now after midnight and nothing. Customer service is a failure if you can’t just speak to a person especially taking their money
Love the concept, but...
by Papa Smurf 05-07 on 2018/04/08 18:23
In theory, I should love TuneIn. Pay for the premium package...get all of my favorite sports teams on audio (minus Liverpool who I at least get to see on TV a fair bit). Reality doesn’t always match with theory, however, thusly the two-star rating. Why? Often, the streams are spotty, which is to say that sometimes they don’t come in at all, break-up into a spotty mess, or like I’ve been experiencing lately with the Red Sox games, completely not connecting at all. In order to listen, I’ve had to delete the app, reload it, log back in and then re-try the audio for the game. Sometimes it works...other times it stops the feed and I have to repeat the whole process to get it to work again, and hope the same failing doesn’t re-emerge. I’m giving it another week of baseball season. If a new update doesn’t fix it, I’ll head back to paying for sports audio on parents apps. At least there I’ll get a largely uninterrupted stream.
Love it, but one problem...
by GO BREWERS!!! on 2018/09/18 22:47
I love that I can listen to Brewer games wherever I’m at big fan. The only problem I have with this app is even if I have two out of my four bars of signal it buffers for ever I have to shut down the app and restart it, which wouldn’t be a problem if I could go right back in to an old game that I’m listening to and he would pick up where it left off instead of starting all over. This is also a problem because it takes so long for the games load since they are hours long so if it shuts down when I’m two hours into a game and I can only scan 30 seconds ahead this obviously takes way too long and then I end up getting so fed up because I’m trying to work while I’m listening to this day I cannot listen to the game anymore so I have to switch my app.
Indispensable for this traveler
by C of H on 2019/01/28 18:34
Update: I’m finding it does weird stuff like suddenly repeat the last several seconds or jump forward, especially bad if I have to pause a live stream, but even when I’m current. This has cause me to miss key moments I couldn’t retrieve. I demoted this by a star, hoping the developers pay attention to this annoyance. I’ll keep it at 4 stars for now, but if it gets worse I’ll be back for a further demotion. If it gets better, I’ll be back to elevate it. Original: I use this app several times a week and always on long (5+ hour) trips. Except when I have cell access trouble, I've never had a problem with this. It may even have saved my life a couple of time when I got sleepy and couldn't pull off the road. Podcasts to the rescue! The only (minor) issue I have is that it can take an annoyingly long time to buffer. This doesn't happen often and it may be more a function of wifi or Internet access. Though it happens on my strong home wifi. Can't complain, though. I use this to access radio a send other broadcasts from all over the world. I especially like to get onto live NPR when I'm traveling or missed my local show. Bottom line: Can't go wrong with a free app like this!
Dishonest company. Buyer beware!
by My MT Brain on 2018/12/15 20:50
Last year TuneIn reduced their price and touted their huge audiobook selection which got me to join. Then they dropped the feature within weeks. A reputable company would have either stated that audiobooks would be going away, or offered a refund for cost of the service given such a key feature was removed. I thought, lesson learned and set up my calendar to remind me to cancel a month before my subscription ended. When I logged in last month to cancel, there was no way to cancel online. I had to contact TuneIn via their email. I contacted them and they told me to cancel online. I replied I was not able to do so, that their site informed me to contact tech support. Then they said they cancelled my service and “Rest assured your subscription will not auto renew on your next billing date”. I’m sure you see this coming, yep they charged me! So now I have to waste more time trying to get my money back from these thieves. Stay away. You have been warned.
Good but MLB games are little behind
by MissTheMarinersButNotSeattle on 2019/09/25 00:02
I’ve used TuneIN for a while now for listening to DV Radio, 710 ESPN, and KIRO 97.3 for the Seattle Mariners games. However, I recently moved away and didn’t realize the radio stations were blacked-out during games if you were out of state. So, I just signed up for premium last week so I could listen to the Mariners games. Unfortunately the live broadcast is about 2 to 3 plays behind the other sports apps. I would get notifications on my phone about scoring plays or home runs at least 2 plays early. Easy fix though, I just turned off the notifications on the other apps. I’m not going to complain too much because the premium subscription served its purpose... I got to listen to the games. I will most likely subscribe again next season.
Rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by joker12483 on 2019/06/21 18:36
Be extremely careful with this app, I unfortunately downloaded this junk by mistake in April of 2018 as soon as it was downloaded I deleted it from my phone. Literally wasn’t on my phone for more than five minutes! It was apparently free for a week after that you are charged $9.99 a month without agreeing to it until you cancel the subscription that you never agreed too!!!! Deleting a app will not cancel a subscription, which absolutely makes no sense at all. Seriously how ridiculous......yeah let’s delete this but start paying for it , sounds good!!!! So I’ve been charged $150 to date and luckily noticed it on my bank statement. Immediately cancelled the subscription that I never asked for or agreed too and never got notification of !!! I have no clue if this app is good or not even though I have had a subscription for almost two years without knowing but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone.
Does not keep track of playhead
by Kid Rock C on 2019/04/20 05:46
So, you are listening to a podcast, but are taking a break for a few minutes to do something else. Now, you switch back to the app and discover that TuneIn kicked you out of the stream, but puts a speaker symbol next to the most-recently played episode. You may rightfully think that you can simply continue where you left off by selecting that podcast again, but you would be very mistaken. TuneIn does not remember how far into the podcast you were, it simply starts from scratch. Nice ... not. Why does it kick you back to the overview screen after you had placed the app into the background for a few minutes, and why can’t it remember the playhead position? An enigma wrapped in a mystery that only the talented programmers at TuneIn will know the answers to. I personally am still using this program to listen to NPR, but wouldn’t mind finding a smarter app.
Ah TuneIn, why didn’t you raise the price?
by Kiriel62 on 2018/01/23 23:03
When it was decided that audiobooks weren’t working as intended, the first option was to dump them. Now I know soooo many people think $8 a month is reasonable for unlimited listening, I know that is crazy. There were no limitations like the library where you have to wait for the book to come back in. One book costs more to purchase than Tunein’s premium price. Now why didn’t you first TRY to raise your price. I would have paid 3x or more for access to this many books. I was one of the ones listening all-the-time. Now my choice is Playster which is so horrible so far, can’t find books, weirdness in charges, loses place etc. I can’t do it. I am going back to library. At least I still have Rachel & Bill at TuneIn.
Great, could be better...
by homeranonymous on 2017/11/29 19:01
I use this app nearly every day to listen to live talk radio from several cities or stations throughout the day. My favorite feature is also the root of my only complaint: fast forward and rewind. I LOVE being able to pause playback while on the phone or at a drive-through or etc., but the buffer could be larger and more reliable... rewinding too far or too often can cause the app to fail, jumping the buffer to the end of the content erratically. My star rating is higher than my first review since some of my concerns were addressed and improved. Yay! It would be awesome to have the ability to save the buffer to listen later! How about a timer to record a program for later playback?
Stops and restarts all the time!!
by Troy1428 on 2017/11/14 15:38
I have been a faithful user of this app - using it almost every day since I first downloaded it 4 yrs ago, and in certain ways I love it. I want to be able to give it 5 stars because I really like a lot of its feature, such as the ability to pause, rewind and fast forward, which aren't always options on other radio apps. But I had to give it 2 because it constantly stops in the middle of something I'm listening to and resets. Meaning, in the morning I like to let it play talk radio while I'm showering and then when I get out, I rewind it so I can hear what was playing and fast forward through commercials (very nice!), but maybe halfway through a 30 min section it glitches and resets to live radio so I miss everything in between. This happens at least 3 out of five times. It drives me crazy!!!
Ads are interrupting programming and are too intrusive
by Phuoc-SD on 2019/08/12 19:48
No longer as great as it used to be. I’m totally cool with ads to help developers and content owners produce great apps or great content. I would pay if the value proposition makes sense. Tune In used to work really well with ads. I noticed that the ads on Tune In are completely different from what is on the radio, which makes sense. They used to come during the natural commercial breaks in the programming and all worked well. Lately I’m finding that’s not the case. Ads are coming on the middle of someone speaking and are way too intrusive. I find I’m using Tune In less and less and opting for my favorite station’s native apps, web streaming in the browser or hustling literally tuning back into the radio. Just like people are going vintage with many other things from vinyl to clothing, I predict people will come back to the radio if this keeps up.
Keeps cutting off all the time
by keeps cutting off on 2018/12/08 13:32
I have several Radio apps on my iPodAnd don’t have trouble with the others but tune in continues to cut out every 20 to 60 minutes then goes back to the home screen I have to start it up again sometime to start and immediately cut off then sometimes it will start and stay on 420 to 60 minutes. It’s not my Wi-Fi that’s not my iPad because I don’t have this problem with other app and don’t have trouble with the others but tune in continues to cut out every 20 to 60 minutes then goes back to the home screen I have to start it up again sometimes it starts and immediately cut off then sometimes it will start and stay on 420 to 60 minutes. It’s not my Wi-Fi that’s not my iPad because I don’t have this problem with other apps
Easier than station sites & apps
by Outdoor Janitor on 2019/03/25 14:03
Often works better than a station’s own app or web site player —began to use this app when it was difficult to get my desktop to start the listen live feature of a local news talk station. It's got a bit of a delay, but that's cool if you are vein, and you want to hear what you said on a call-in show – but aside from that, having a profile with my favorite Christian, & news stations – & being able to pick a syndicated show, and listen even if it's from across the nation, is cool. Occasionally some glitch causes 5 to 30 seconds of a show to repeat, but I don't believe anything is ever dropped…
Need to fix buffering
by DrumGuy6 on 2019/02/14 12:36
First of all and probably most importantly, the app content is great. However there are issues with buffering that need to be fixed. The app offers pause and RW/FF functions, but if you pause for even a short time the app will skip ahead midstream once you are playing back the buffered content. Also when playing back buffered content it will randomly repeat a few second long portion several times. Buffering is a feature used on many apps these days and it usually works flawlessly, this app needs to fix these issues to compete. If buffering was fixed this would be a 5 star review.
No free versions anymore?!
by ah20_damsel_fly on 2018/09/24 13:03
I’ve had this app for years and always had the free version so I could listen to my morning radio program clearly since where I lived it was spotty on the radio. When I got my new phone I went to download the app, and got this updated version that is now “pay only” thru a 7 day or more trial. Even tho there’s an advertisement for a free version, you only have the option to chose a free trial and paid subscription when you hit the “start listening” button. Come on.... even Pandora has an easy free version with ads I listen to. I just wanted my local radio stations to be clear. If this is what it’s become I’ll just not listen anymore and delete this crap. I’m not about to fall for a trial I can’t get out of so you can swindle my money. I’m on a fixed income and just wanted to laugh a couple hours in the morning between Z93 and Bob and Tom. 🖕🏼🙎🏻‍♀️
Not working on Apple Watch, sneaky about subscription
by Mac Since 1985 on 2019/08/07 15:41
UPDATE: After deleting and reinstalling the apps several times, TuneIn suddenly began working properly on Apple Watch and iPhone. I have revised my star rating upward accordingly. But I can’t give more than three stars because of the sneaky first screen after installation that tries to trick the new person into a pricey subscription. *** The app plays nicely on my iPhone, but on the watch it does not install. I reinstalled the app. The previous version at least installed, though it was unresponsive on the watch after that. Other watch apps are working normally. Watch v. 4. , watchOS 5.2.1., iOS 12.3.1. For honesty, you should quit advertising that the app supports Apple Watch. I have emailed Support, but none of the suggestions worked.
Don’t download you will get charged
by vez214 on 2019/09/23 01:57
I would give this app ZERO stars if I could!! I was trying to find a way to listen to my local football team broadcast while away and came across this app. It “seemed” like it was free to download but then after you download it, you get a week free and then get charged $10 automatically. Of course I had tried to uninstall, delete and cancel the subscription/app. It is made pretty much impossible until you get your receipt from being charged where you can view your subscription and have the option to cancel. I never even used the app and ended up paying $10 for the pleasure of it because it didn’t even play the game I had been looking for. It’s a useless app that is designed to scam you. And of course there is no one to contact in order to get your money back either once it’s been taken.
Fixed!
by Wayne Beamer on 2019/09/08 00:39
I pulled the trigger on TuneIn premium at the yearly rate of $99 through my Mac computer. However, when I download the app for my iPhone, all I see is a monthly option for $9.99 and no way to login. How can I get the yearly rate without being billed twice? I like the convenience of sports in one place... REVISED REVIEW: After working patiently with tech support, they navigated me to the right place on the app to login to the app. You’d think the app dev team would put the login page in a spot where you could find it easily. So far, it works and getting access to live sports for $99 a year for my car, it’s a great and more affordable alternative to Sirius XM.
Scammy “Subscription” Techniques
by nikkirieken on 2019/02/12 13:15
Trial-user beware! I tried this service’s free trial. The service was fine, but it wasn’t something that I personally found worth paying for. So, I did all the steps to cancel my subscription. But NO, apparently you have to cancel your subscription again, even if you have ALREADY cancelled it. So I find a $100 charge on my credit card for a service and app that I had cancelled and deleted a month ago! And adding to the unfairness, instead of being reasonable and charging for one month of this service, they charge for a FULL YEAR. Now, they’ve taken $100 from me and will NOT refund me, even after I described the situation. So if you do your free trial and want to cancel before you get charged, be sure to cancel twice. Heck maybe a third time. Maybe cancel that credit card. Maybe even change your name and move to another country.
Corporate greed specialist hired by tune in for app revamp
by mrbungle5 on 2018/01/03 20:53
I’ve used tune in for many years now and was psyched to see the new updated app. Upon download it only offered me two options, both of which come with a $99 subscription. I instantly deleted app. Honestly I was afraid of hitting the wrong button it was so confusing (and I’m sure it was designed that way). As I went through the reviews for the update, there was one frequent response to a lot of the complaints, “TuneIn is free for all users”. When trying out the app I looked to avoid the subscription sign-up and tryed to use it for free, there was no way to do it, it kept sending you back to the subscription page every time you hit “play” on a station. It seems as though tunein has hired a corporate greed specialist to eek out any subscription fees they could, plaguing previous and new users alike with a $99 fee. Ouch.
Internet hacks and wire fraud
by flickenu on 2018/11/05 23:03
I had their service for over two years. Recently, another source hacked my credit card. I immediately reported to my bank they canceled that card and the bank issued a new one. Right after these individuals try to use that old card to pay my monthly fee. Before I could update this account With them. I made a pledge on Facebook using the new card, the only charge on that card. Two days later that card was added to that account without my permission. The only way they had access to that bank card was to hack my Facebook account. So beware of this is Invasion on your personal banking.I have canceled my subscription and turning it over to the FBI.
Only use it because there are no other options
by mandylion6 on 2018/08/22 11:19
It’s the only way to listen to my local radio stations while I’m traveling. However, if there were other options I would use them instead. Some of the programs I’m listening to are so quiet I have to have the volume maxed out only to injure my ears when the advertisements start. This is not a problem when I listen to these stations on my radio. Other times it gives me the ad that usually plays when you start the station on repeat instead of the station. If you aren’t careful with an unlocked screen, you can tap sketchy banner ads asking for all your personal information. They allow obvious scams to advertise on them like “tap now for a free iPhone!!” This app has a lot of potential, but these issues need to be fixed.
Bait and Switch Premium Upgrade
by GADFLY SOUP on 2018/04/20 00:07
I had no warning I “was upgrading to Premium status.” The upgrade was buried in a request for a Google email address. This isn’t free. Not all stations are Ad-free, even paying for Premium. I want to shut it off. Now, they’re directing I go to my ITunes account to stop the auto billing. But, there’s no way to do that from my iPhone. Is this more of Apple abandoning it’s users by playing Bait and Switch? You know Apple is getting their cut of the monthly premium fee. Shame on you company executives. I can just hear them responding “Did you read the fine print before we pushed you off the cliff?”
From great (2012) to decent (2015) to awful (2017)

Newer "Newish review".... WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE IN-APP VOLUME CONTROL?????????? ______________ "Newish review".... since they only allow you to "edit" reviews, not post new ones. STAR TAKEN AWAY. I NEVER would have updated as past new versions have constantly let users down, but 75% of stations I listened to previously stopped working. I thought it was an update issue, so I updated. SURPRISE!! Guess what?? 75% of the stations I used to listen to on TuneIn STILL don't work. "We're sorry but an error has occurred". There version of the spinning carousel wheel. Also, the new UI format is heavy handed, clumsy and honestly a big step back into 2010. AND WEIRDLY... why up rewind or ff buttons to 30 sec??? 15 sec was just fine!! You just set yourself back another 4 years w that one TI. #stoptryingtofixstuffthataintbroke! My review from 2015..., FYI Why?! I'll tell you why... So they can play another ad when you have to restart stream manually. So ridiculous. We all get it, you need money to run this thing, but STOP BEING SO GREEDY and running horribly mainstream and REMARKABLY INEFFECTIVE ads EVERY TIME A CHANNEL IS TUNED. I use this app because it's the only option with this many stations. The second someone develops one even remotely close to tunein, I'm deleting.
like a pyramid scheme
by jpwinkle on 2017/09/22 15:36
Paid for TuneIn Pro a few years back for commercial free RADIO ONLY-I just wanted 1 place I could select stations that played the music, usually classical, I wanted. Well, I haven't used it for a while so, to my surprise, I needed to download a new version that won’t let me in without signing up for a 7 day or 30 day trial after which I must pay monthly. No, I’m not doing that after taking note of the difficulty reviewers have in discontinuing. I have a problem with paying for an “upgrade” version of any app, only to have the developer change the terms/price later. Especially for a continuing monthly subscription for a whole bunch of stuff in which I have no interest. The 4 & 5 star reviewers seem to have started after the subscription era started & seem happy. Those of us who paid for the “Pro” version seem to rightly feel used!
Good options, bad execution
by MAC177 on 2019/09/27 19:06
I enjoy a number of podcasts that are available through TuneIn. My issue is with downloading of said podcasts. I used to be able to download any and all without issue, but for the last few months the ability has gotten worse and worse. At this point I try to download and the progress symbol just spins and spins and never completes. I’ve tried on cell data and different WiFi networks. My phone has plenty of available space. App is up to date. Still no luck. My drive to and from work includes a large section where I don’t have cell service, so being able to download and listen when I can’t stream is key. Sadly, I’m going to have to start looking elsewhere for a podcast app and just hope my favorites are available there as well.
No customer support
by MayorJim on 2018/09/13 03:14
Be very careful with this app. I purchased the premium ver. for $100. I renewed my sub on 9/11 via the Apple store with my VISA. On 9/12 I got a fraud warning from my Bank that TuneIn charged $50 on my MasterCard. I tried contacting TuneIn 1st, but they have no customer service phone...just email. So, I emailed them. After several hours of no reply, I contacted my bank and they placed a stop pay and reissued a new CC card to me. TuneIn finally got back to me and wanted a screen shot of my bank statement (lol, yeah right). I sent them the fraud alert showing the $50 transaction. After about 12 hours, TuneIn got back, via email, saying I’d have to contact Apple with any concerns. My concern was that TuneIn tried charging me twice via 2 different CCs ...and 2 different amounts. As I said...watch your payments with this outfit VERY closely since you can’t call them...and they can’t read!
What once was...
by sonofwolf1 on 2018/02/17 18:14
Unfortunately, the tune in app no longer operates free from many commercial interferences — I find local (Chicago) AM radio to be worse... I got the app to listen to WBEZ 91.5 NPR. What’s truly odd is that the early versions operated mostly without glitches, whereas now it’s fraught with them, ie unexpected channel changes etc. And this is all totally weird because one would think later versions would’ve attended to glitches. No, it’s not my device(s) either. Another annoyance is the pay to listen “major” sports airings, which I doubt anyone actually pays to listen to... Instead tune in tunes out local coverage. Thanks
Tune-in
by Tinkham on 2018/08/13 17:43
Writing reviews for me is rare. So, praise for this app is after a couple of years of use. The trade off of tune-in ads to radio time is low in my opinion, depending on sought network. This also depends on isp data plan. The app functions well (fully) w no noticeable interruptions to explicitly upgrade to paid version. As a radio app it is great for stations far away. Local stations are well served too, but an option to use FM tuner on chip through app w out internet connectivity during emergency situations would be a good idea (unfortunately Apple does not believe in serving users this functionality as of yet).
Won’t refund
by Firsttimewishbuyer on 2019/04/02 19:43
I signed up for the free trial trying to listen to an interview my daughter was participating in in my home town while I was out of town and so couldn’t pick up the radio station signal. I googled the radio station and it said I would be able to listen to the radio station on the TuneIn App. I downloaded it for free, but said I had to subscribe to listen. Hence, I signed up for the free trial. However, I wasn’t able to listen to her interview because after I had signed up, it said it had no live feeds from the radio station I needed. I canceled it today, being one week later. They had already billed me the $9.99 for the month even though I did not use the app AT ALL and canceled it before the free trial ended! You should NOT have to cancel a free trial subscription 24 hours before the free trial ends to avoid being charged the monthly renewel fee. Not Cool!!!
702 talk radio gets flooded with ads
by Serval1948 on 2019/05/08 08:25
How can I enjoy listening to 702 today, this is Election Day in South Africa and you are spoiling my listening with numerous advertising. (Cutting into talks, news etc). You assured me recently that ads from your side only come on at the beginning-“never during the talks otherwise people will be disillusioned just like me”, you lied! You told me ads during are done by the radio stations. These are all Americans ads 702 talk radio would use to interrupt their news? Come on, You could do better, don’t lie! What use do I have to tell you all this quite a few times. -nothing gets done on your side - you need to make changes in order for your listeners to stay with you. Can you put me in touch with your customer service before I leave your radio service with a bitter taste in my mouth. Thank you, Beate Hammonds Boerne, Texas, USA
v12 broke the playback controls
by wily ludo on 2017/10/19 02:40
I use the Zoomed display setting on my iPhone. Since v12.0 of this app was released, the playback controls have been overlayed with the playback progress bar, making the controls difficult to activate. When you touch them, usually nothing happens. The menu containing access to sleep timer is particularly difficult to activate. If I change my phone’s display settings, the app works fine. But I am not changing a global preference to accommodate one app’s design oversight. I have tried numerous times to report this bug via tunein support but it’s as if the reps don’t use the app, as they *always* say they don’t understand what I’m describing, and they have never escalated my reports to the engineers who would understand. I have used TuneIn apps for many years on many phones. Today I am trying alternatives. Goodbye tunein.
PLEASE CONTACT ASAP
by Heathbarheather on 2018/07/25 00:58
I just sent customer support an email and need your prompt attention. I only had this app downloaded for 2 minutes to find a local station. When I didn’t find it, I deleted the app, not realizing that I was signed up for an account with an automatic deduction of $106 from my account. I do not use this app or want this subscription and PLEASE need a refund and someone to contact me immediately as I am in the midst of a nervous breakdown over this lost money. I absolutely will delete this negative review once I am contacted, but don’t know how else to make sure I have your attention. Thank you.
My favorite App
by Gay/Gay on 2017/12/09 13:57
I cannot say enough about this App! I love books, but I have no time to sit down and read. With Tune In app I am able to enjoy a book as I drive to work, put on make-up, or do housework. I can look in the search window and find any interviews that may be available of my favorite authors. If you are a podcast listener a lot of the podcast are released one day early so I can be first to know about my favorite podcast. If you are on the go as much as I am and would still enjoy listening to a podcast, the news, or sport shows, I highly recommend this app.
Used to be solid
by NPries10 on 2018/03/01 13:17
I have used tunein for years and loved it, but very recently, the app stopped working so I deleted it and reinstalled it. It fixed the initial problem but then the app gave me the 3 options for a “7 day trial,” “30 day trial,” or “start listening for free.” I never minded the ads so I always would listen for free. Little did I know that this was just a year long trial after which they would charge you $99 if you didn’t end it. Seems kind of sly to me. It is not easy to cancel the trial either, as you have to dig around in the App Store or on the computer to find it. I am quite disappointed in this company, as it seems they may be trying to scam people buy making them get “free” trials that will charge them money if they don’t cancel them. I hope they change this back to the way it was before.
Love it!
by Honest-Abe App Reviews on 2019/10/26 19:01
TuneIn is a great app! There are free radio stations and you can listen to them even when you have 1 bar most of the time! It’s free - although there are adds occasionally - but it’s just music! There are also podcasts, you can favorite radio stations and podcasts, and it is free! You can go into “ car mode” for when you’re in the car and you can make an account to keep track of your favorite podcasts and radio stations! They have every genre, I swear. My favorite thing to do is connect my phone to my karaoke machine and listen to TuneIn all day on the weekends!
My experience
by 100218 wolverine on 2018/10/02 14:56
I was looking for a way to pick up a radio station in another town to listen to a ncaa football game. I downloaded the app and then realized there was a monthly charge to use it. I knew about the one week “trial”. I never opened the app because the next game I wanted to listen to was on TV. The one week “trial” doesn’t give a person very much time to use the app for trial. I had forgotten about the monthly fee until iTunes sent me a notice they had charged my cc for the monthly fee. I deleted the app the moment I realized what had happened. I will continue to try to rid myself of this fee and the app. Unless you listen to a great deal of radio programming I don’t see how anyone can get a decent trial in one week. If you are like me and have a single purpose/reason for trying the app don’t download this app for “trial”.
Used to be great, now just ok, kinda
by praise bojengals on 2019/03/27 13:30
Used to be a great app to listen live to radio from all over while being able to rewind and even record. The app has been slimmed down a bit and functionality has suffered. I understand having to upgrade to record now, but the app constantly loses its place now if you rewind. You may rewind to hear something you missed, but then while your listening, it will jump forward at random points skipping whatever is in between while not letting you go back. There are other things as well. It’s a good app if you never used it previously I guess, but it wil frustrate you if are trying to pay attention and have to back track, it will leave you with a gap in audio of its own choosing.
Good app, but...
by Pastor Andy G. on 2018/10/09 14:29
The constant buffering is annoying. I’ll be listening to the talking portion or a favorite song, when suddenly, it pauses. What’s more, instead of continuing in real time, it continues where it left off, then cuts something else off later to catch up. And when it freezes (and it does), and I close it out then re-open it, now I have to listen to one of their ads before listening to my favorite channel. Suggestion for TuneIn: if you’re going to pause to buffer, continue on in real time. I’d rather it be live in real time (or a setting to decide) than cut something off to catch up later. There also seems to be a certain sweet spot for the swipe to delete, because if I swipe all the way across (as with other iPhone options), it flips back. If I flip it just past the red delete part, it flips back again. It’s real frustrating, like we’re being discouraged from deleting, you know? Just how badly do you want to delete this channel? It’s also a really basic app - not many settings, nor a “back” or “cancel” button when you go into search.

Huge scam!
by NFLfan2019 on 2019/11/16 23:26
Added a star due to the reply appreciate you tanking the time to do so.

Beware of forced upgrade
by pmybtx184 on 2019/11/12 03:42
The app works well, but in order to download the “free” version, you are forced to take on a “Pro” trial, that you will be charged for if you don’t opt out in less than a week. Be very careful. I wanted to listen to one thing. I thought I was doing a “risk free” free trial for 7-days and they charged me $10 right away. I cancelled my subscription within an hour or two and didn’t access any premium content. So mad. They make confusing on purpose so you get charged.

See ya.

Thank you!

by Awax941 on 2019/11/05 13:04
I hate this app.

From great (2012) to decent (2015) to awful (2017)
by I ♥ Hackney™ on 2017/10/10 01:22
Newer "Newish review"....
Love it!

Used to be a great app to listen live to radio from all over while being able to rewind and even record. The app has been slimmed down a bit and functionality has suffered. I understand having to upgrade to record now, but the app constantly loses its place now if you rewind. You may rewind to hear something you missed, but then while your listening, it will jump forward at random points skipping whatever is in between while not letting you go back. There are other things as well. It’s a good app if you never used it previously I guess, but it wil frustrate you if are trying to pay attention and have to back track, it will leave you with a gap in audio of its own choosing.
Good app, but...
