No landscape mode
by Charlemez on 2019/03/13 11:34
Please make it work in landscape Mode. Very frustrating using it on an iPad in portrait mode for my kids whose learning games all works in landscape mode. I have observed that 90% of your app don't. work in landscape mode.
My #1 Baby App
by Kaptinn on 2018/09/11 07:53
Little Hannah is 8 months, and extremely grabby right now. I have a good case, so I let her have the phone. But, before I do, I open up Color Dots and enable Guided Access mode. She has an absolute blast with this app. She smiles and laughs as she pops the dots by slapping the screen with her fingers and hands. The pop noise and vibration response makes this a perfect little game for an infant, and a must-have in any new parent’s arsenal.
9month old gets and likes it
by Johnslarsonwi on 2018/09/05 02:19
Downloaded Dots for my 9 month year old daughter. She had won an iPad in a free raffle at the community night out. Was looking for things she might be able to play. She seems to understand the point of the game and will reach for and pop the dots herself. For as long as a 9 month old pay attention to anything she’ll play the game. So let’s say a solid 30 seconds before she starts chewing on or will toss her iPad to the side and find something new to do. The haptic response when she plays it on my phone might keep her focused a little longer but nothing the developer can do about that I don’t think. Come on Apple vibrating iPads please !
Need help
by Lnr103 on 2018/08/08 17:25
Hi I work for early intervention and I have a kiddo who is severely disabled. She loves popping the bubbles on this app on my iPhone to get the vibration feedback and it helps with her fine motor control so I purchased a gift card and downloaded it to an iPad we had purchased for the family. For some reason the iPad version isn't vibrating when she pops the bubbles. She's not interested without the vibration. I've tried searching for a contact at Ellie's Games but find no support. Can you please assist me or let me know how I can return and be refunded to a gift card so I can purchase something else better suited for her? Thank you.
Great app!!!!!!

It's simple enough for real young ones and makes a nice popping noise. She asks for it by name.
Perfect for our 8 month old
by Phrix2016 on 2016/06/06 21:21
Love the simplicity and the colors! The ability to change the size and speed of the bubbles excites our daughter as she recognizes the change. (I'd love to see a setting to add more shapes or a random one with different fun noises when they pop as I noticed the simple slight changes are intriguing.)
Improved visual scanning and hand-eye coordination

New version is no good
by Djpv on 2015/07/01 19:20
My toddler loved this app. But the updated version took away the music and the vibration doesn't work anymore. She gets so frustrated with it now that its missing her favorite parts. No good.
Perfect
by Ls1546893074 on 2015/06/30 13:28
I love this game for my toddler. He's been using it since he was 9 months old. We used larger slow dots and now we've switched to smaller fast dots. Love the sounds. Highly recommend
Update broke it
by jNimble on 2015/06/28 15:57
I always hate it when reviews are complaints about bugs. There is supposed to be a link for app support. However in this case that just takes you to a website where there is no support-just links back to the App Store. My kids have loved this app since we got it over a year ago. I always wanted more settings and options but was fine with the limited features it had. I was excited for the update that added some. Unfortunately now it doesn't make noise or vibrate and the dots are always slow no matter the settings. I would rather it had no options than what we have now. Please fix it. And fix the app support link so it works so people don't have to complain in the reviews and can submit big reports appropriately. Bugs happen. Please fix them.
Fun
by 10dubs on 2015/05/25 03:54
Great game for toddlers, but as others have mentioned, settings are stuck and you can't make adjustments to speed or for size/number.
Pretty good, but can't seem to change the speed of the dots
by meltmade on 2015/05/11 10:49
We switched the app to the fastest speed (10) to see what it looked like, and now it seems like that setting isn't responding to touches anymore so we can't slow it back down. The other settings appear to work as expected, but now the app is stuck in a state where the dots move too fast for our baby to process them. The developer's site doesn't appear to have a way to contact them directly which is too bad.
Awesome dexterity App
by Hooligan banana eater on 2015/05/10 15:29
It's tough to find apps that are fun enough, simple enough, but not over stimulating for kids under 2yrs. This is an awesome app just for that age range. Our 15-month old loves it. - I love that there aren't weird purchase options in the middle of the game. - I love that there is a two-stage security to make any setting changes. Great app, looking forward to our toddler playing the rest of this series. Thanks for the thoughtful programming!
Pain in the heinny!
by Johnuuh on 2015/04/21 13:02
Idiot app bumps u out when my infant makes a hand gesture. It's not really for kids and pretty stupid that way.
Over priced
by Zoo patrol on 2015/01/10 14:24
$2.99 and all that I got was one simple game that my daughter was bored with in just a few minutes. This is a ripoff. And if she wants to play a different game, it's another $2.99. What a waste.
It's ok
by Aintnobabymama on 2014/11/12 00:55
I wish I didn't spend 2.99 for this. It's not worth it. Didn't capture my sons attention for no longer than a minute.
It's Me Again... Great App for Low Vision Students
by CatherineMorris on 2014/09/11 01:39
I have written reviews before, we've shared emails. I am please to let everyone know that this app developer actually listens and responds to requests. This is why you can turn borders on and off, speed up or slow down the dots and so on. i love this app, I use it with my visually impaired students to evaluate their ability to track, to see colors on various backgrounds and so on. This app is not just for babies that's for sure. My current request is for the older kids with a little more skill. Could we have the option to track how many times the background was touched? I have kids that will poke or pat all areas of the screen with or without a dot present. Or maybe when the background is touched in error another dot sprouts... Or maybe both. Thanks for a great app. Catherine
A great buy!
by Nikkbandy2012 on 2014/08/10 22:29
My 4 month old is so entertained by this game. And I love that it's fun for him and works on his hand-eye coordination!
Thank God
by smjaygal on 2014/07/13 01:34
I don't like kids at all but they come to me all the time. 3 and under love this game and I have coloring for those older so they leave me in peace. This is a sanity saver.
Not for babies
by Fincady on 2014/06/11 21:38
My 9 month old nephew finds this interesting to look at for 10 seconds then sticks my phone in his mouth. I find it hard to believe any child under 1 year has the cognitive ability or attention span to play this.
Awesome
by druminbum on 2014/03/12 02:48

Awful
by Raymond Brigleb on 2013/11/17 18:35
It's great that the publisher could get seven friends to write five star reviews but trust me, it's awful.
Best app for babies!
by ScrapbooksRgreat on 2013/08/14 03:29
This is a perfect first app for your baby. It is intuitive, simple, and has options for size, speed, color and tones in settings. Can be used to practice eye hand coordination for those with autism.

I am a speech-language pathologist who works with preschoolers with autism. I use this app as a reinforcer following correct responses in therapy activities, or as a break between different activities. They LOVE it! I'll hear anything from tiny giggles to full belly-laughs, which is music to my ears! Fabulous app!!! Thank you! Kermette Petersen
Color Dots
by LAller56 on 2013/06/24 05:56
This was an excellent first app for our little guy. At three or four months it helped his visual tracking. As he continued to develop it was great for eye/hand coordination. And always, it's fun to sit him on our laps and watch him figure things out!
Great
by chhill13 on 2013/06/22 13:19
My grandson really enjoys this game. I just wish you could access the settings menu from the play feature to make adjustments without having to completely exit the app & go back in just to get back to the settings menu. I've emailed them but it wasn't on the recent update. If they would fix that I would give them 5 stars.
My babies LOVE it!
by tangerine0806 on 2013/06/18 05:52
My 9 mo old and 19 mo old love this app! Very entertaining for them and they love it so much they cry when it's time to turn it off. Started using it when my son was 6 mo old, but even my 6 year old plays it.
Autism app
by CharlesTanenbaumBender on 2013/06/07 15:34
For very autistic children this app is fantastic. One boy in the class spent straight five minutes using it. He hasnot sat still for five minutes all year! Changing settings without exiting would earn it five stars.
Color Dots
by Anniesinger on 2013/05/25 04:37
Color Dots is a fun game, that starts out with one color dot, once popped more appear, eventually it will take both your hands/fingers to pop them all . Even more fun is the setting to be able to choose music or pop sound number of color bubble and speed they appear/ move. This is a fun game that will increase hand eye coordination and could be used for counting and identifying colors. Could easy become addicting.
Great game
by bajebooth on 2013/05/24 10:57
Color Dots is a game that has long lasting play value. It is both soothing and addictive. It is one of my go to apps to learn targeting - the ability to sight and reach an object. In this fun filled game, you pop dots of different colors beginning with one dot and progressing to 10 dots. For low vision kids you can add borders to the dots and also turn off the color medley which brings more contrast to the dots and the background. You can also customize dot size, speed, number, or music/sound effects. I would highly recommend color dots.

by Kelley0906 on 2013/05/05 21:21
He is intrigued with this app and picked up quickly. We use it when we have to wait (e.g., doctor office). Visual reception, tracking, colors, and basic enough for him.
Please go back to strum sounds!
by papagena1 on 2013/04/06 02:58
This is a fantastic first game for babies. I think my daughter started playing it somewhere around 4-6 months. This game got me hooked on Ellie's Games! Just one request - please go back to the strum sounds it used to make when you popped a bubble! I thought it was much more in keeping with the overall ethos if the game (peaceful, colorful, curious) and much more interesting than the static, boring, mildly-annoying (sorry) bubble pop sound.
This app is great! My 18-month old and 4-year old both love it. It's easy to use & keeps them happy
by Dominochic1 on 2013/03/21 17:29

My little guy loves this app! We say "POP!" as we play. Great for hand/eye coordination. I just wish you could disable the home button, on all apple devices, while kids play. My baby is always drawn to that, and inevitably, exits all games!!

This game is great! My 3 year old son who is legally blind loves to play. Couple of suggestions, maybe the ability to chose border outline colors (i.e.; white, black, red, etc.) & also the ability to lock the background color. There aren't enough apps for visually impaired children out there & you could real have a niche with some simple tweeks. Keep up the good work :) honk, honk! From A4
Updates

I am a physical therapist and work with special needs children 0-3 yrs old. This app is a definite favorite of many of the children I work with. I use it for motivation to "stay standing", or "reach high", or "balance in sitting", etc. Thank you for this app. Would love to see more of the same app..... with more "popping things/themes"....... stars, bugs, faces, etc. Thanks, Laurie
Addictive!
by Dinkrea on 2012/02/01 02:03
While some people might think this is a too 'simplified' app, we love it! My 4 year old special needs son playing for hours. I also sneak in time playing this and I'm 32! I compare it to popping bubble wrap. Wonderful and addictive!

I have a daughter who is legally blind, among other disabilities. She absolutely loves this color dots app! It worked much better for her once I changed it to only one at a time and wii eventually add another in. It is also great that the size and speed can be changed. Having the white border on the dots really helps with tracking! I showed this to her vision specialist and she loved it, too! Thanks for such a great app!

Works on child's hand-eye coordination. Been using this with my daughter since she was 7 months old and she is now a year old. It's great because as she's gotten quicker with popping the bubbles, I can increase the speed and decrease the size of the bubbles for more of a challenge. Thank you for providing a free app that is helping more than you know!

Little Hannah is 8 months, and extremely grabby right now. I have a good case, so I let her have the phone. But, before I do, I open up Color Dots and enable Guided Access mode. Hi I work for early intervention and I have a kiddo who is severely disabled.

Catherine

Just updated and now the app makes no sound.
Great game
by bajebooth on 2013/05/24 10:57
Color Dots is a game that has long lasting play value.
Color Dots
by Anniesinger on 2013/05/25 04:37
Color Dots is a fun game, that starts out with one color dot, once popped more appear, eventually it will take both your hands/fingers to pop them all . Even more fun is the setting to be able to choose music or pop sound number of color bubble and speed they appear/ move. This is a fun game that will increase hand eye coordination and could be used for counting and identifying colors. Could easy become addicting.
Great for visually impaired children!
by Mom of SN Child on 2012/01/30 03:52
I have a daughter who is legally blind, among other disabilities.
Great!
by MamaHancock on 2012/01/04 11:43
Works on child's hand-eye coordination. Been using this with my daughter since she was 7 months old and she is now a year old. It's great because as she's gotten quicker with popping the bubbles, I can increase the speed and decrease the size of the bubbles for more of a challenge. Thank you for providing a free app that is helping more than you know!
Game constantly interrupted
by Solrisen on 2011/08/10 10:05
Game is CONSTANTLY interrupted by the "write a review" prompt. Well, here's your review: even a small child can't play it with the every-other-level review demand popping up! So I can't recommend it to anyone. And I hate it. I hope this encourages the maker to change that. If I could give it no stats, I would. For a game where all you do is tap dots- and can't even go back to the menu once you start a game- this is a poorly done version which misses out on basic functionality, then destroys what's left in a bid for attention. No stars. It's hard to screw up something this simple, but they found a way!
Applications for children with difficulties!
by phdchild on 2011/04/17 06:14
i enjoyed using my fingers to pop the "bubbles" which is how I explained it to my chldren. I found it works well with children who are not ready to do complex tactile tracing or writing skills yet. They are "popping" the bubbles at their own speed. The changing bright colors hold their attention. Keep making apps for our children.

I got app for my grand baby. Update came had trouble so I sent text and got a very nice text back and new update. I think this app is the best app I have ever had! They may have had trouble trying to make the app more awesome but they were nice and quick to fix. What more could anyone ask for!! They are the best.
Love it!
by Harry'sMom on 2012/02/08 18:57
This game is great! From A4

Thank you! Kermette Petersen

by Seminary Student Review on 2011/07/18 02:04
We love Dots! Our kiddo has been playing for a long time now and seems to enjoy it. I like that you can change the size of the dots. I do miss the "fade in" to a new level (instead of a new screen sliding in) and wish the game would save our previous settings instead of reverting back to small dots.
Great
by chhill13 on 2013/06/22 13:19
My grandson really enjoys this game. I just wish you could access the settings menu from the play feature to make adjustments without having to completely exit the app & go back in just to get back to the settings menu. I've emailed them but it wasn't on the recent update. If they would fix that I would give them 5 stars.
Mom loves it too

Addictive!

While some people might think this is a too 'simplified' app, we love it! My 4 year old special needs son playing for hours. I also sneak in time playing this and I'm 32! I compare it to popping bubble wrap. Wonderful and addictive!
Color Dots
by LAller56 on 2013/06/24 05:56
This was an excellent first app for our little guy. At three or four months it helped his visual tracking. As he continued to develop it was great for eye/hand coordination. And always, it's fun to sit him on our laps and watch him figure things out!
One little glitch
by Jrschult1805 on 2011/11/09 03:59
My son loves this game. But when he holds his fingers on the background screen for too long, it exits to the main menu. So I am constantly pushing the start button to get it going for him again. It would be awesome if this bug could get fixed.
Best app for babies!

Finally, an ideal game that's perfect for our babies. So tough finding games that don't require our kids to know how to read or decipher complicated instructions.
Nice simple for my 11 month old
by Kelley0906 on 2013/05/05 21:21
He is intrigued with this app and picked up quickly. We use it when we have to wait (e.g., doctor office). Visual reception, tracking, colors, and basic enough for him.
Fabulous game!

Baby's First App!

My little guy loves this app! We say "POP!" as we play. Great for hand/eye coordination. I just wish you could disable the home button, on all apple devices, while kids play. My baby is always drawn to that, and inevitably, exits all games!!
Awesome for infants
by Canvai on 2011/05/10 16:22
Push a bubble and make it pop! No on screen ads, no on screen 'buy me' buttons that babies can accidentally press. It's nice and simple.

by OJsMom on 2011/07/13 22:47
This game is super fun and keeps my 19 month old entertained BUT it us super annoying that it keeps asking me over and over to write a review. Ok, I wrote one...maybe it the prompt to write a review will stop and we can just play the game...
Wonderful!

by Gg710 on 2011/12/14 03:45

Autism app
by CharlesTanenbaumBender on 2013/06/07 15:34
For very autistic children this app is fantastic. One boy in the class spent straight five minutes using it. He hasnot sat still for five minutes all year! Changing settings without exiting would earn it five stars.
Fun for kids, annoying popups
by Alcyone06 on 2011/09/05 03:53
My 1 year old likes this game for a short time. Not bad for a free game. The feedback popups are really annoying because my daughter can't hit the "no" button herself. I'm hoping that writing this review will make the popups go away for good....
Great app for a whole crew
by MommyOf3As on 2011/09/02 00:11

Great game. I use it for teaching children with special needs to use a touch screen. Very motivating. Would like to see the addition of some animation, music or other reward for successful completion of screens.
Thank God
by smjaygal on 2014/07/13 01:34
I don't like kids at all but they come to me all the time. 3 and under love this game and I have coloring for those older so they leave me in peace. This is a sanity saver.

My #1 Baby App

Little Hannah is 8 months, and extremely grabby right now. I have a good case, so I let her have the phone. But, before I do, I open up Color Dots and enable Guided Access mode. She has an absolute blast with this app. She smiles and laughs as she pops the dots by slapping the screen with her fingers and hands. The pop noise and vibration response makes this a perfect little game for an infant, and a must-have in any new parent’s arsenal.

Fun

Over priced
by Zoo patrol on 2015/01/10 14:24
$2.99 and all that I got was one simple game that my daughter was bored with in just a few minutes.

Not for babies

This was an excellent first app for our little guy. At three or four months it helped his visual tracking. As he continued to develop it was great for eye/hand coordination. And always, it's fun to sit him on our laps and watch him figure things out!

My grandson really enjoys this game. I just wish you could access the settings menu from the play feature to make adjustments without having to completely exit the app & go back in just to get back to the settings menu. I've emailed them but it wasn't on the recent update. If they would fix that I would give them 5 stars.

Color Dots
by Anniesinger on 2013/05/25 04:37
Color Dots is a fun game, that starts out with one color dot, once popped more appear, eventually it will take both your hands/fingers to pop them all .

Need help
by Lnr103 on 2018/08/08 17:25
Hi I work for early intervention and I have a kiddo who is severely disabled. Thank you.
No landscape mode
by Charlemez on 2019/03/13 11:34

My son loves this game. But when he holds his fingers on the background screen for too long, it exits to the main menu. So I am constantly pushing the start button to get it going for him again. It would be awesome if this bug could get fixed.
Best app for babies!
by ScrapbooksRgreat on 2013/08/14 03:29
This is a perfect first app for your baby. It is intuitive, simple, and has options for size, speed, color and tones in settings. Can be used to practice eye hand coordination for those with autism.
Love this app!!

I've used this app for 3 kids and it's great for hand/eye coordination, tummy time, keeping the kids entertained, and for passing time while in line or waiting somewhere. I've recommended this app to tons of people...my kids love it!!!
My babies LOVE it!

My 9 mo old and 19 mo old love this app! Very entertaining for them and they love it so much they cry when it's time to turn it off. Started using it when my son was 6 mo old, but even my 6 year old plays it.
Perfect

I love this game for my toddler. He's been using it since he was 9 months old. We used larger slow dots and now we've switched to smaller fast dots. Love the sounds. Highly recommend
Great game for the little ones

Finally, an ideal game that's perfect for our babies. So tough finding games that don't require our kids to know how to read or decipher complicated instructions.
Nice simple for my 11 month old
by Kelley0906 on 2013/05/05 21:21
He is intrigued with this app and picked up quickly. We use it when we have to wait (e.g., doctor office). Visual reception, tracking, colors, and basic enough for him.
Fabulous game!

My 10 month old loves this game and will ask for it. She has been playing it for months and you can see the hand eye coordination improvement.
Baby's First App!
by monicadabra on 2013/01/19 02:25
My little guy loves this app!
Love it

My six month old loves this game. We play it and both my husband and I like the dots ourselves and want to pay them. This is in the top three baby apps so far.
Like a lot but....
by OJsMom on 2011/07/13 22:47
This game is super fun and keeps my 19 month old entertained BUT it us super annoying that it keeps asking me over and over to write a review. Ok, I wrote one...maybe it the prompt to write a review will stop and we can just play the game...
Wonderful!

My little one can not stay away from this app! It also quickly helped him to learn how to sort his colors! So simple yet can do so much!!
Our baby loves this app
by juliet1198 on 2011/07/21 12:41
I downloaded this app for our 11month old daughter and was surprised by how quickly she caught on to the object of the game! she loves it, and I love how there are no ads or menus to get in her way.
Update goofed it up
by Gg710 on 2011/12/14 03:45
I just downloaded the update and now when I change the settings, nothing is changing (size, sound, etc). I also do t see an option to change the dots from the ornaments. Not a fan of the ornaments.
My 10mo loves this
by Tk187 on 2013/03/11 14:30
My 10 month daughter loves this game. Great for building coordination. Best of all, no annoying menu button or ads for her to accidentally hit.
Love this!

I have been using this to teach my children with CP to use the iPad. Later, as they get accurate and accustomed to using this method, I can introduce augmentative communication apps. Great program!
8 month old enjoys
by Rhys1 on 2012/01/03 19:13
Game is age appropriate. My daughter always enjoys playing. However, need to alter preferences or the game too quickly becomes overwhelming. Persistent review prompting is annoying
Autism app
by CharlesTanenbaumBender on 2013/06/07 15:34
For very autistic children this app is fantastic.
Great app for a whole crew
by MommyOf3As on 2011/09/02 00:11
My kids are in love with this app. I love that they can all play it at the same time. Perfect quiet game for on the go and during church services. Most excellent!
Great!
by LauraKsyniak on 2011/09/28 16:48
