STAGNET !
by GrandmaEnglish on 2018/09/02 03:11
THIS DEVELOPER SEEMS TO HAVE LOST INTEREST IN THIS APP. WHY HASNT HE CREATED ANOTHER ROW OF BUTTONS FOR ADDITIONAL CHORDS OR GIVEN US ADDITIONAL OCTAVE POSSIBILITIES? WHY CREATE SOMETHING THAT IS SUBSTANDARD? WHY IS THE DEVELOPER SO INDIFFERENT?
Awesome for strumming!
by Kareembyear1year on 2018/08/26 20:01
Does strumming very well! If it had a solo mode it would be soooooo awesome! And a looper to loop the strumming and then solo mode to solo over the recorded strumming....that would take it beyond 5 stars!
Guitarism
by Daisymoonbeam on 2018/07/20 04:58
I'm really impressed. This is the most complete and realistic guitar app I have found. It has everything I could think of and lots more. I think I love it. Sounds great too.
Really close
by Defraserabq on 2018/07/09 20:24
This program is great fun, and is good for rock, but the lack of higher voiced chords, like 13ths and 11ths, limits its jazz usefulness. Also, I can find no way to control which inversion of the chord is to be played. Finally, the limit of 6 chords is a bit stifling. However, the guitars sound great and play great. Even with the above limitations the program is worth the investment. Using Guitarism to control other programs is reason enough to buy - I have made some wicked sounds. Make the program a little more flexible, and this app is 5-star all the way.
Lots to Love But Seems Orphaned
by Onomasticator on 2017/10/29 04:09
Pros: great sound. Lots of toys! And when I show my guitarist friends the secondary-chords feature, their eyes pop. Cons: Could really use full CAGED-system support for playing chords in other than first position. You can get part of the way there with the transpose feature, but but I don’t think most of us can make it work on the fly. So you can't, e.g., do a live riff that starts with second-position E and ends with first-position E. Also, without scales implemented it’s not as suitable for playing lead as the GarageBand smart guitars, even though they have a more limited sonic palette. The two things above stem from the bigger worry about this app: it seems moribund. There have been no major upgrades in functionality for two years now, as of late 2017. I do see the developer is releasing a flurry of bug fixes lately, so maybe things will start moving again. I’d be perfectly happy to pay for CAGED chords and scales as in-app purchases.
Fantastic!!!!
by Takujoa22 on 2017/03/01 13:28
Especially using 4play!!! And should be improved chord number!!! Now we can see 6 chords But usually we can cover all the song with 8 chords!!! Tilted chords system is very complicated when I play songs!!! Please gather 2 chords box there!! Then we can make it easier and comportable! Very nice app it is!!!!! Thank you!!
Love it!
by Tim Messersmith on 2017/01/27 16:12
I love this app! I use it with ThumbJam's classical guitar sound, and play in a flamenco style. I have tons of guitar apps, and nothing beats this. The only thing I would add is the ability to add more than 6 chords at a time without switching. Then it would be perfect.
Just Amazing
by Elo The Source on 2016/11/22 01:16
I use this app a lot in my post production work I come up with so many cool tunes and most of all the sounds are so great and options to export share build on your work makes this app a big five stars Pro grade.
Sounds Incredible!
by KingDiamond on 2016/10/10 14:50
This app sounds incredible! I can't stop playing it and haven't picked up my real guitar in days. The midi out capabilities add tons of creative possibilities. It's a great way to layer the guitar sounds from Guitarism with synths like Animoog. Update 10/10/16: Still the best virtual guitar app for iOS! The built-in effects continue to impress as does the overall feature set. When paired with guitar effects apps and Audiobus, this app gets even better!
Chord Options
by dreamlight on 2016/09/03 11:13
This is a very useful and fun app, though you could offer more of the chord options
Easy fun and realistic!!!
by GatorBruce on 2016/07/06 16:52
Garageband's virtual guitar frustrates me to no end due to the guitar not being anything remotely like a guitar in real life. This app is very realistic and is a great tool for anyone that wants to learn from scratch or improve skills and maybe even get rid of bad habits!
Great app!
by Icantbelieveidownloadedit on 2016/05/07 15:53
Best guitar app ever, coming from a drummer with a music app addiction. Absolutely killer for laying down guitar chords for your musical ideas, jamming live, or just plain fun. Anyone can play this app. Pop up the electric guitar, throw some distortion on it, and you are on the edge of shred. Highly recommended, and I haven't even mentioned the great connectivity options. One wish: that the other 12 chords were easier to play, especially in a live situation.
Well done
by Chopper4657 on 2016/04/12 18:23
Great job on this app! Well done. Thank you.
Next best thing to a real guitar & sometimes better
by Tigerwoogs on 2016/04/04 07:10
The only two things I would like to see from this app is custom chords that can be built using all fret positions and sounds modeled to emulate different guitar brands and models.
Very realistic
by X-rayrobert on 2016/03/30 01:09
This app is very realistic. I play guitar and this thing is really good.
Fantastic!
by Ben Efitofadoubt on 2016/02/09 04:41
Why did I not get this app sooner? It leaves every other guitar emulator choking on its dust. Beautiful design and performance. Get it!
Fantastic, but could be even better
by rbth3 on 2016/02/01 02:58
I've only used this a few days and am really impressed. I'm puzzled, however, that you only get to choose between 6 chords. It means I often need to stop between songs and change the chord configuration. Especially in the Ipad version, and with the larger screen iphones, there is plenty of room to add an optional extra row if chords. This would allow a freer flow between songs, and make the program much more enjoyable to use. Please consider adding an extra row of chords!
Very Nicely Done!
by jenet_christiansen on 2016/01/31 05:48
This is a fabulous guitar app. Full of surprises. Great for all ages and very user friendly.
Beautiful sound, feature requests
by interactivenyc on 2015/12/27 03:52
I love this app! There are only a few decent guitar simulator apps in the iTunes Store, and this one is tied, in my opinion, with iShred. guitarism sounds better, and supports iPad - iShred works on iPad, but only at iPhone resolution. There are two features that iShred has that Guitarism does not, so I want to request those features and this would get a hearty five stars from me. 1) Add a fretboard mode, so you can pick out individual notes. Having a bend feature and hammer-ons, are essential. 2) Create a mute pad somewhere, so that instead of enabling fret-muting globally, you could just tap a spot on the body of the guitar to mute just when you want it. My third request is a bug - not sure how widespread it is, but this app won't play audio at all through my Bluetooth headphones. Strangely, both Guitarism and iShred both won't play through Bluetooth, so whatever the problem is, is common to both. IShred hasn't been updated in years, so I'm planning on building a new relationship with Guitarism as my PRIMARY guitar app for both iPhone and iPad. Thank you for building a WONDERFUL app, and I look forward to your future updates.
Great sounding touch guitar
by wradcliffe on 2015/08/16 18:16
This is the first touch guitar interface that I have run into that actually sounds good and is playable. It has it's own synth but also allows you to use an external synth via MIDI. The interface is uncluttered and easy to understand but also has a lot of depth to it. And the best thing is that it actually works reliably. This is a very high quality app. The developer has recently made all the in-app purchases free making it an amazing value as well.
The best iOS guitar emulator
by Deltacaster on 2015/05/19 20:48
This is the best one, pay no attention to what the App Store charts may tell you. It's not that close. Best sounds, best interface, most responsive developer anywhere. If you get just one virtual guitar app. This is it.
Very nice but needs a little more
by Nikster_K on 2015/05/16 19:48
Very nice. But would need ability to create custom chords and shoppers different chord positions to be get 5 stars. Also, would be nice to have additional guitar sounds... Les Paul, hollow body electric, telecaster, etc.
Very cool solo, but add 4play and Audiobus, awesome!
by Guitarot on 2015/01/10 05:24
For an app, it's surprisingly satisfying for a real guitarist to play (when no real guitar is within reach), and it's sound, although far from a perfect replica of a real guitar, is quite convincing at times. But listen to me, buy the in-app purchase stuff, especially the 4play thing! It allows you to route any of the guitar notes, bass notes, and chords (like a pad) to either the Guitarism virtual guitar sound, or any virtual MIDI channel. I highly recommend Arturia iSem for the bass notes, DXi for the chords, and the guitar notes through the internal Guitarism virtual guitar sound. With the virtual analog synths playing the bass notes and chords alongside a very convincing virtual guitar sound, it's very... old school prog rock. Wanna get really fancy? Open Guitarism in Audiobus as an input along with the two aforementioned apps. Put the awesome delay effect Crystalline in the Audiobuss effect slot, and then just use the speaker or your favorite Audiobus recorder as the Audiobus output. 21st Century prog!

by SkiingChampion on 2014/12/27 01:45
I can't say that I'm the best person to judge this Application, but there are too many extras that you can download without the thing asking for passwords. It looks more like there might be a scam behind this guitar.
Love this app
by Fprintf on 2014/12/23 02:20
Great app that works so well for guitarists and non players alike.
Closest to a real guitar
by ZenLizard on 2014/12/04 03:14
In all of the iOS universe, no other app comes closer to sounding like a real guitar. It departs from a real guitar when it comes to how it is played, but that is a VERY GOOD thing, because trying to shape chords and fret strings on a touch screen is annoying and stupid. If you only get one guitar app, this should be it. If you have more, this should be at the top of your collection!
Recomendação de aplicativo

Best of my iPad award 2014
by Tad Binkley on 2014/10/28 06:23
The closest I've come to a 5-star review. For me, 5-stars would mean a more intuitive interface for secondary chord selection, an option for bending strings (most glaring missing performance option), and please, a simple way to save a performance, or at the very least a warning before I delete forever yet another chance moment of Guitarism inspiration, simply because I opened the app and touched one string. If you've ever been in a recording studio, in an unrehearsed moment messing around, and find yourself suddenly immersed in inspiration, when you come up for air, you quietly pray a voice in the headphones will say "I got it all on tape". Guitarism delivers this precious gift...then makes it so very likely you will moments later lose it all. But yeah it's awesome I open it every day!
I have an instrument now!
by John Fryar on 2014/10/25 02:10
I didn't learn to play anything when I was young. I thought I was too old, too busy. I was wrong. I'm not saying this is a guitar, because it's not, but it is true instrument. Practice brings real improvement and you can play interesting, complex music. I love it. I have my iPad with me all the time, so I can practice anywhere.
Real Easy To Use!
by JCpro on 2014/10/19 02:32
Love it! Really quick way to ensure we have right chords on praise and worship songs. Absolutely my favorite app. All-time fav, for sure!
Fantastic iOS 8 update!
by N1ckNam3r on 2014/10/14 07:26
Thanks so much for the excellent iOS 8 update with Audiobus compatibility! It sounds great and works perfectly with GarageBand and other music apps! Keep up the great work! Note: If you plan to use guitarism with Audiobus, please be sure to restart your iOS device and enable Airplane mode. Otherwise, the apps won't launch properly in Audiobus. This is an issue with iOS 8—not guitarism or Audiobus! Enjoy!
Fantastic guitar Synth !
by AshFallenBrightly on 2014/10/14 06:14
The realism is just absurdly amazing ! And THANK YOU for making it Audiobus compatible on iOS 8 again 😉
Good but Rockstar Pack Crashes App

Wow.
by Squirrely227 on 2014/09/27 22:32
I went looking for other apps like this one. There are none. What've we gotta pay to get the iOS 8 update fully compatible? I've got tons of stuff on here!!
Love It!
by Frakster65 on 2014/09/27 01:34
**Update 09-26-2014 This app will always have my highest rating. It is my most used app on iPad. I can only hope that the developer will provide an update for iOS8. I have been using Guitarism with Audiobus and many different amp simulation apps. However since Audiobus was updated to iOS8 it lost all compatibility with Guitarism and every amp app that I have. It makes a huge difference in my appreciation of the app. I'm crossing my fingers that the fine developer of Guitarism is hard at work to fix the issue with Audiobus. I also hope the developers of all the amp simulations I own do the same. ***** I love this app just as much as I love playing guitar. First of all the sound reproduction of the various guitars is very realistic. But behind the great sound is an ingenious interface that allows for a near natural guitar playing experience. 18 chords! I don't think there is any other guitar simulation (in app form) with as many. I was very pleased that 18 is just the right amount of chords necessary to play Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water. Strumming piano! The polyphony mode is fantastic. You have to pay extra but if you have GarageBand then don't hesitate. It works great on my iPad 3. What fun it is to strum the piano especially when playing Billy Joel's Piano Man. Lol! I honestly don't have any complaints about the app but I do have suggestions for future enhancements. The implementation of a cloud save feature for your presets and the inclusion of more chord selections would be nice. Kudos to the app designers and engineers!

Great App, Needs Update for iOS 8
by CamaroJedi on 2014/09/19 22:35
Really like this app but after updating my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 the app gives me an Audiobus error and if I try switching to a different guitar, of which I paid for, the app crashes. I've done restarts and reinstalls with no luck.

What, No Scales ?

You can actually play some decent tunes with this.
Second to a guitar.
by Ddchlad on 2014/09/06 22:51
Nothing beats the real thing. If you are a guitar player you will know this. The way it sounds, the way you connect with it, the fact that's it's tone and range can be felt in your body (especially acoustic), and the fact that it's more impressive. I'm sure there are people who will buy this app that are the guitar hero types. Never learned to play. And like the idea of being able to control a real sounding guitar digitally. That's all fine and dandy. I'm speaking to actual players here and I'll say that this is the BEST sounding and user friendly guitar app around. The maker captured a good sound and a way to play that has your strumming hand doing what it would already be doing on a real guitar. I used it already to write a song. Not sure what guitar was used to record the sound. I play a martin acoustic and after playing with the EQ was able to get a warmer sound that comes close to the deeper tone of my Martin. They really do give you a lot for the price. I can tell the maker was passionate about this. I was even able to play an alternated thumb bass finger picking style which other guitar apps made impossible. Although there are in app purchases for a few bucks I would have paid $20 for the app alone. I do have ONE request. Make an alternate tunings feature. Allowing us to have the guitar tuned to DADGAD, DADFAD, open G open C etc. THAT would make this priceless!!
Beautiful

Just what I needed
by godeater212 on 2014/09/05 13:03
I was out of town with my family for a month and wanted to work on some music but couldn't bring a guitar or gear. I have some good drum, sequencer and synth apps and was working on a piece when I thought I'd really like to hear how some guitar would sound with this. The guitar sounds on my recording and synth apps just don't sound very good. I came across Guitarism and the overwhelming great reviews for $1! Just what I needed and my 2 yr old daughter loves it too
Nice sound, a few suggestions.
by Bobbo924 on 2014/09/03 03:24
This is a very worthwhile purchase as far as it goes. The sounds are lovely, and the program is well thought out. If they'd like to make me happy they could add 12 chords to the left side instead of the currently limiting two banks of six, which is awkward. Audiobus compatibility really adds to the usefulness. Overall a lovely program with a lot going for it and a little room for improvement.
Fun app

You would have to be crazy not to buy this app. Whether you are a professional, an amateur recording on your iPad with audiobus or a complete noob with NO musical experience, this app is a ton of fun. I can't believe this app even exists. It would be nice if sometime in the future the developer would add the extra buttons the iPad version has room for. I realize there are more buttons available, but the interface to access them is clunky. Still, a must buy rating by a long shot.

This is easily the best guitar app I've seen in the App Store. Very impressed, much thanks to the developers.

Thank you!!

Beyond "just a great app"!
by 1000j on 2012/06/20 07:58
I thought i understood this app inside out, but every time I find a feature I wished it was there, and it IS there, I am even more convinced this app was not merely written for fun and monetary gains but born from genuine love of playing the guitar anywhere you go! (I just learned we can edit the tilt keys too - way too awesome, now we have 18 notes!) It takes just a little more time to fully understand this app, as I have encouraged many friends to try this app again by showing them how the features work. Every one of them are reaping benefits of what this app really is capable of. You can easily tell by the way "key" notes are laid out conveniently and the little meticulous settings and options available for this app such as "pitch" - the developer really has thought it through inside-out and I'm just really grateful he has made it public for everyone to use for a small fraction of fee that doesn't justify the time dev spent on creating this app. Best app out there for guitar hands down. Try to learn how it works, and with little or no knowledge of knowing how to play the real guitar, you'll be jamming away with friends on real guitar! That would be me, the clueless guy who is now inspired to pick up a guitar after knowing how fun and useful this app can be!!
When U Think Of It Yourself
by umpitygrumpity on 2014/02/11 04:17
You know it's going to be good when you had the same idea. This is no exception! I had this idea myself, but don't know how to make iPhone apps. I met the author in person, and he is a very cool guy. He told me his story and I already could see what the app was doing. I bought it on the spot, and I haven't regretted one cent. I love the app. I'm going to dock it a star for the one new thing I did not like: It advertised the new features all for buying one in-app purchase. Then it was not easy to find the in-app purchase. I ended up paying $4 for another one thinking it was giving me everything. Turned out the one I wanted was different and still hard to find. So when I finally got it, I spent nearly $10 to get it and I'm not likely going to use the other features. For an app that cost me $1 originally - I feel this was poorly implemented and took advantage of me.
Great app!
by DanM316 on 2014/03/23 20:48
I've played guitar just at home for about 45 years. I just thought I'd try this out of curiosity and keep being more impressed as I try it out using it's many features and options. This is as close as I've seen to actually playing a real guitar. It's not an app for learning to play for using your left (chording or picking) but it creates every chord and many techniques using a virtual left hand. However for strumming, picking, and many other playing techniques for your right hand it is almost like playing a real guitar. In addition for electric guitar users there are many pedals and effects that can be tried. For a virtual guitar for practicing, playing, learning, or just having fun trying out new things this app is amazing.
AMAZING sound, could use inversions / new chords
by nurikaakasouliloquy on 2014/01/26 14:57
The fidelity of the guitar sound you get with this app surpasses anything I tried on my Mac (with external sound card), and my iPod, easily (and I’ve used MANY audio software, especially on Mac) That being said, since the chords can’t be played in certain inversions (automatically played in the most common fingering/position, so far as I can tell), any of The Police songs you try are guaranteed to sound lame, for instance, not to mention Jazz standards (most of which would be unplayable with the limited number of chords available anyhow). As such, in its current state the app is a heaven for novice/aspiring players, yet not nearly of as much use to advanced ones. I’ll still be watching on updates, crossing my fingers.
Nice
by occasionalpurchaser on 2014/03/15 13:10
Love the sound....love the simulated action that this app pulls off. A lot of thought went into this app to make it as good as it is and with as many quality optional purchases that it brings. I recommend this a lot for anyone who is learning to put chords together and being able to test out variations of arpeggios in real time. A step up from chord apps. I know that this is a single person developer....kudos to him. And I'm sure he's deluged with emails etc. but he needs to answer tech support in a timely fashion. I've been unable to restore purchases for over a month with no answer back.
Really nice
by FroggySioux on 2011/04/18 13:03
For a buck, this is a pretty sweet app. The sound quality is fairly good. The best feature (imo) is that it's similar to simple songwriter in providing you with the ability to easily explore chords associated with a key, including I, iv, v, sus2, sus4, relative minors, 7ths. If you're a beginner musician this is a really nice way to get familiar with all the different chord sounds that go well together in any key, and you can use this to try to figure out the songs on your iPod that you want to learn. There are some chord types missing, like add9, which is common enough that it seems like it should be there, but it's basically got all the chords you need for most songs. Sometimes when I'm having trouble identifying the key for a particular song, I wish it had the ability to just give you open strings & fretboard, so you could find the notes in the song, and figure it out from there. But, overall, this is a very nice app. There's enough to work with. One glitchy thing is the menu button, which isn't sensitive enough. I have to tap it a few times before it will open or close.
I find the sound lacking
by Murdock Scott on 2014/01/27 05:02
Lots of people seem to like the sound of this app but I am not as impressed. I keep trying to get something nice and expressive from it but I am always disappointed. There is a similar app I use that each time I open it I am inspired by the sound. Unfortunately, it's feature set is outdated. So it seems I still must wait for the right combination of great sound and features. One thing that would improve this app dramatically is if it allowed control of dynamics by where on the strings you played. In other words if you would get the sound of a gentle strum or pick from playing at the bottom of the strings and a more aggressive sound at the top. Other methods don't allow for the control and expression that I am looking for.
Need to lock the alternate chord
by Xandyboyzzz on 2014/05/18 15:31
This is a great app, that has little room for improvement. I would like to point out one such case: When you choose one of the alternate chord banks, you need to keep one finger pinned down on the left/right arrow bar for as long as you want to use that alternate chord bank. There should be a way to "lock" your alternate chord selection in place, much the same way that a particular chord is locked in place even when you remove your finger from the chord button.
Best IOS Guitar out there
by Spaceman Bassman on 2014/01/27 19:13
The best guitar app just took a Great Leap Forward with this upgrade. I am very impressed with sounds of the three new guitars and the IAP ability to control 3 other sound apps at the same time. You can be a full time one person band with this app. The developer takes this app seriously and answers questions quickly. It would new nice to have a larger pallet of chords in the future but for now you can make a fantastic amount of music here and now especially when you drive other synths.
I can finally sing along while playing the guitar!!
by Nauman Qureshi on 2011/08/21 01:09
I've always had a tough time coordinating my vocals with chord changes on the guitar but Guitarism has made it so easy for me to do that! Forget worrying about hand-eye coordination, just save your favorite song's chords in the app and play away. This is a great app for everyone, young or old, and specially for those who had always wanted to be the one singing at that campfire and also those who always dreamt of impressing that someone special by singing her favorite song. I'm loving it!
Confused
by Awesome1Review on 2014/03/08 02:26
There are several features that just don't appear to be working or I'm just not understanding how to use them. For example, I can't seem to get it to allow more than six chords. I push the arrows, but it just shows the same six chords. Maybe I have to purchase the upgrade. Overall, pretty good sounds. But still suffers from the same issue as most other apps I've tried: there is no nuance. It's all one volume and all one timbre all the time. Lacks any realism other than the quality of the sample sound. Maybe I'm just expecting too much for an ipad guitar app.
It really is
by c0gentf0rce on 2013/04/11 22:44
As realistic sounding as everyone is claiming. The ability for custom chords would be great, but this app is already impressive. It is hard to call it a substitute for a real guitar (as nothing that isn't a real guitar really can't nail it completely), but the developer behind it is motivated and committed. With the direction it's going, I would be confident that this guitar app will keep improving in functionality and usability, more than any other out there. Cheers to the developer!
Great app!
by Icantbelieveidownloadedit on 2016/05/07 15:53
Best guitar app ever, coming from a drummer with a music app addiction.
Sounds great!
by Julie808 on 2014/01/26 07:43
I don't yet know how to play a guitar although I can stum an ukulele. Hoping to figure out how to use this app so that I can figure out how to play a guitar one day. In the meantime, I tried it for a bit, the instructions seem to be helpful, and the guitar strums smoothly and sounds great. Would be fun if we could hold the actual keys - or frets or whatever they're called - down so I would know and learn correct finger placements. Try it for yourself! :)
Simple, excellent musical tool for songwriting or goofing around
by curtlyshilling38 on 2011/08/20 18:48
Take your basic three-chords knowledge and sound like a legit folk musician. Strumming looks, sounds and feels real, and you can hold down the chords you want. Chords are grouped into keys, so it takes no effort to put together songs you already know or noodle around with writing your own. This is a surprisingly effective songwriting tool, in addition to its simple charm as a "guitar to go".
Enjoy!
Spectacular!
by Ncouncil on 2014/01/09 21:20
Truly the most accurate sound/picking/strumming of any of the dozens of guitar apps I have used. I look sadly at all that money down the drain. This is all I will ever need. Lot's of great options. My only criticism is that that UI is a little weak in use some features. The quality of the sound etc. makes up for that, although it may become more of an issue in performance.
It's good
by Ihazgingerpowers on 2014/01/28 03:23
Fun to play, easy to make something sound good. Like seriously I've just been strumming back and forth and hitting different keys. It's not hard to make people think you can play this. Now to play a real song might require some talent. But if you just was to swipe your finger across the screen and pretend you actually know anything about guitars, then this is for you.
More $$ for electric
by PvtJoker77 on 2014/01/29 06:22
It's a great app but only gets four stars because it says in there you get stunning acoustic and electric and it doesn't tell you you have to pay another $4.99 more to get the electric and another $4.99 after that to get the 12 string and then another $4.99 to get the 12 string electric everything is $4.99 more. Good app though just wish they would put the additional cost up front.
BEST guitar app, bar-none
by Spankybubbles on 2014/01/25 19:41
I have tried many guitar apps for iOS and without a doubt this is absolutely the best one I have ever come by. The clean, crisp, realistic guitars and the vast amount of options (capo/muted fretting/hammer-ons, etc...) really make this guitar app stand tall above the rest. Great for producing song ideas or just toying around. I give it 5 stars PLUS one! Kudos to the developer for such an outstanding sim for my favorite instrument!
Great app! Worth the price!
by Unk Dave on 2013/02/23 16:00
Well done! I love this app. I have just been playing for an hour now and amazed at the quality of the sound, ease and nice interface. Connected it to audiobus & did some recordings with the guitar in my multi track DAW, added my drum samples, keys , bassline..Wow! What an awesome mix for the day! You've really made my day! Keep on moving ahead. Expecting updates in the near future. Be blessed!!!
If you have more, this should be at the top of your collection!

by Sharkey 5150 on 2014/06/05 05:03
Actually helps with playing a real guitar! Helps with timing and mainly your right hand strumming! And to top it all off, you can actually play your favorite songs or better still, write your own songs! And that's not all! You can go further in depth and use to control midi, etc. works super in conjunction with a real guitar!!!
Decent enough!!!
by AiNoKeA810 on 2014/06/18 09:07
Wish it had the option to pick some of the chords you want to add in addition to the key you choose to play in. Otherwise it works well for an iPhone guitar. Helps when I get something in my head I need to try out before I lose it again. And it allows you to record and pick or strum!
Love this app!!!
by Rhinodoc1 on 2014/02/21 22:39
I am a fiutar player and there Is nothing better than allowing this app to help me practice. The understanding of cords and how their form and which ones go together as been a boon with this app. Really loving it and agree with some of the other reviews that it does need some more chords on each board. Otherwise fantastic highly rated!!!
Great app!
by MrNezumi on 2013/09/26 21:10
Getting a good sound/tone while recording acoustic guitar can be difficult. When using Guitarism you always get good tone. I have a few other guitar-sim apps and this one is my favorite. I like the way it is set up because it gives a good balance between how a real guitar is played and the way a touch screen works.
You Won't Be Disappointed!
by JMSexton on 2014/01/24 22:22
The best guitar just became better....waaay better! You get so much for your money and it comes with a great developer that responds to his customers and continues to develop and support even further. The effects are, well if you're familiar with AUFX (also a phenomenal developer) then that's all I have to say, superb! The best on iOS!
As close to the real thing as it gets...

I've tried a lot of guitar apps, but this is unparalleled in sound and quality, not to mention ease of use. I don't know what they discovered that all the others are trying to find, but if I record this guitar the recording will fool many people.
A lot of fun
by At Least I Try on 2014/01/31 01:46
I play a little guitar and this app is great because the user can change between chords quickly as there are 6 chords shown on the side. Then you choose between strumming or picking the strings! A lot of fun to play with but also something than can be used for music creation on-the-go.
Awesome
by Krrushgroovin on 2014/02/11 14:11
This app is wonderful! Very responsive, almost to the point of accurately representing a guitar in this multidimensional world of tangible things... Something severely lacking in many apps out there. Highly recommended. Buy this before any other guitar app. Most others will give a bad impression of what is truly capable on iOS. IPad is the next revolution in digital music creation
My favorite guitar app
by Ahleena on 2013/08/03 14:13
This is my favorite guitar, because of its easy interface and easy to customize chord bar. Sometimes I wish that the fret would hold more chords, and it would be great to be able to have a sticky note or something to remind me of song details, bit I just LOVE this app.
Long time fave now even better
by Sattech27 on 2014/01/24 22:42
I've had Guitarism for some time and the dev is a great guy who regularly frequents the Audiobus forum. He's very interested in user feedback and does a great job in implementing what makes sense. This update is over the top though. The auto looping, presets, effects, and guitar modeling are first class!
True Incredible
by Nichjoht on 2014/03/27 20:33
After losing a finger in an accident, I have searched for a way to play guitar again. Bought software and keyboards but nothing was able to capture the true nuances of the guitar. The first time I played with this app, I cried; I was finally playing guitar again. Thanks so much.
Exactly right for me

This release is the perfect combination of the great features of v2 and elegant interface and sound of v1. I chose to use the classic look, you may choose the new look, but thanks to the brilliant and responsive developers, we have a choice! A very solid release of the best guitar app there. Is! Thanks.

STAGNET !
by GrandmaEnglish on 2018/09/02 03:11
THIS DEVELOPER SEEMS TO HAVE LOST INTEREST IN THIS APP.

Progama show de bola. Um dos aplicativos de musica que eu jamais desisntalo do iphone. Som limpo e fácil interação. Recomendo
Great Update!
by Massif Dustbin on 2014/11/06 09:43
Absolutely one of the best tools available for playing or writing on the iPhone and iPad. The midi in/out features and built in AUFX effects are really excellent. Thanks for another great update!

Good but Rockstar Pack Crashes App
by cerephine on 2014/10/05 22:32
Unfortunately this app crashes with iOS 8.2. Please fix this issue so that the in app purchases work!
Wow.
by Squirrely227 on 2014/09/27 22:32
I went looking for other apps like this one.
Crash

Great App, Needs Update for iOS 8
by CamaroJedi on 2014/09/19 22:35
Really like this app but after updating my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 the app gives me an Audiobus error and if I try switching to a different guitar, of which I paid for, the app crashes. I've done restarts and reinstalls with no luck.

What, No Scales ?
by Yabber37 on 2014/09/08 00:35

incredibly useful

I don't know how to play guitar so this is the closest I feel to being able to sound like I do. The sound is excellent. I just may have to take lessons.

Thank you!!

Great app!
by DanM316 on 2014/03/23 20:48
I've played guitar just at home for about 45 years.
Great app!
by Icantbelieveidownloadedit on 2016/05/07 15:53
Best guitar app ever, coming from a drummer with a music app addiction.
If you have more, this should be at the top of your collection!

by Sharkey 5150 on 2014/06/05 05:03
Actually helps with playing a real guitar!

I've had Guitarism for some time and the dev is a great guy who regularly frequents the Audiobus forum. He's very interested in user feedback and does a great job in implementing what makes sense. This update is over the top though. The auto looping, presets, effects, and guitar modeling are first class!
True Incredible

After losing a finger in an accident, I have searched for a way to play guitar again. Bought software and keyboards but nothing was able to capture the true nuances of the guitar. The first time I played with this app, I cried; I was finally playing guitar again. Thanks so much.
Exactly right for me

This release is the perfect combination of the great features of v2 and elegant interface and sound of v1. I chose to use the classic look, you may choose the new look, but thanks to the brilliant and responsive developers, we have a choice! A very solid release of the best guitar app there. Is! Thanks.
