I have phoned orbitz twice, they are really lovely and helpful and will call the hotel for you if necessary. Orbitz website also shows more accurate photos of each room type and more detailed info of the hotel that you don’t see on other sites.

First time ever booking through Orbitz & had a flight through Spirit. Whatever you do, DO NOT fly, or spend your money with this airline. Absolutely ridiculous customer service after holding people 4hrs to finally cancel the flight. After all the flights I have been on, this experience has been the worst....

I booked a trip on orbitz and needed to cancel to days before the flight. The reason being the cost on orbitz is twice the amount of the cost on another site two days before the trip. I tried to cancel on the site and was informed that there was a glitch and I had to call, so I tried to reach customer service. I either get no one after waiting for over 20 mins. Or when I received a call back, I was supposed to press 1 to connect, but whenever I press 1, I get disconnected. Worst experience ever with all travel sites. The company is going under. I will never book again with orbitz.

Needed to make one small change - it took 6 hours one day to do so including waiting over an hour on the phone for any human voice. And still Orbitz never made the change eight days later! They are blaming the airlines for this mess. So they should have told me to call the airlines directly and not falsely promised to make it for me. Lessons learned - don’t use Orbitz again.

I normally use orbitz all the time. They have the lowest price a lot and it’s easy to use but the last few times I tried to buy through them I had problems. Like just now I went to buy airplane tickets. I filled out my info and hit complete purchase. It came back saying my flight had sold out. I thought I would double check and went through the process again (it didn’t save my passenger or payment info). This time it said the flight times has changed and made me enter the info AGAIN. Then it said the price had lowered. So I enter my info for a 4th time and it finally went through!

I like using my Orbitz app because I can quickly pull up my exact search and it’s easy to cross compare between airlines, hotels, etc... And checkout is quick and smooth also cancellations.. Please don’t change for the worse (fingers crossed)

They give u 24 hours for cancellations but when u call to talk to cancel my trip they ask you to call back after 72 hours! They put me on hold for more than 2 hours and call disconnected after that.

I should be able to setup price alerts with the amount I want to pay for a certain date. Example is I want to set an alert for $250 per a trip I might book from 3/8/19-3/14. Plus the app doesn’t have home page when I’m looking at booking dates. If there are these features then they aren’t use or friendly.

I have been using Orbitz off and on for a couple years, but I used the site a bit interchangeably with other sites. But anyone who travels for a period of time knows there are mishaps and changes which occur when traveling. Today, Orbitz got me out of the third Jam in the last two years and has made a totally loyal customer. If you’re interested in why, read the story... if you care less just know Orbitz has always done what they could do to ease my travel bumps. Via the website or the human beings. The recent story: I had a hotel reservation on Booking.com that was cancelled due to an error in their systems. So the first thing I checked was to see if the hotel was available on Orbitz. It wasn’t. Not a single room. So I called Booking.com - and proceeded to hear for the next 25 minutes that nothing could be done because their systems had cancelled me - even worse that any escalation for a resolution would take about a day. On a whim toward the end of the call with Booking.com, I checked Orbitz again... and lo and behold there was my cancelled slot, open on Orbitz now as the “only room available at the hotel”. So I booked the room with Orbitz and will NEVER use Booking.com again.

Finally managed to set up trip DFW to LAS after 5 tries. I kept getting 'unable to complete booking'. Other aspects are confusing: I was sent to a verification screen twice. I clicked 'save info' several times - it never did.

Pay the nominal rate of $50 to be able to change my flight. Meetings were over five hours ahead of time… Room on an earlier flight but was told my ticket was not eligible for me to ride... or change Everything else went fine, but don’t BS me over some insurance. #I guessbookdirect!

I have been using Orbitz for a couple of years now and they have taken very good care of us. Their customer service is top notch and issues are resolved quickly - even while on our trips! I don’t see a reason to use any other site.
Hotel room not what was booked and paid for

Booked a king suite room, was told that it wasn’t guaranteed when I arrived to check in even though I paid for the upgraded room. Was given a double basic room. Orbitz hasn’t resolved this issue therefore I will not use Orbitz for my future travel needs.

I don’t normally rate apps but this app frustrates me constantly. Once I have booked a flight the app never adds it to my account and allows want s me to download the app to add my itinerary. ARGH! I am using the app to book the flight why should I download the app again? My husband booked me a flight associated with my email address which is linked to my account and it doesn’t show up. Really? This is the MOST unfriendly app I’ve ever used.

Im so disappointed and frustrated with orbitz. I tried to book our birthday getaway trip to Cancun. It charged me twice and it never booked my trip and the pending charges didn’t give me an opportunity to try to get my vacations with other provider.

It’s my third time that I’m using orbit it was always in my back pocket I never used to serve as the primary source of trouble but for the last three times orbit at saved my trip by making sure that my reservations we’re booked on time there was no miscommunication and that I have A safe travel moving forward all my bookings will happen at orbit.

The website is unreliable. The app doesn't allow you to view any credit voucher. The call center is for lack of a better word, crap. To speak to corporate is like bartering for water in the desert. I rather use a brick and mortar travel agent than this joke on app / company. I'll be avoiding them and there parent companies. You've been truly warned.

I used this app to rent a car. After Orbitz clearly confirmed that car is booked, after visiting car rental place no car was available. I spent over four hours to contact support and get a help, no luck. Orbitz customer service and customer service guarantee have a severe breach. Very disappointed. It happened to me twice already.

Pros: - 5% cash back in Orbucks using the app - +5% cash back in Orbucks using Orbitz CC - +varied% in coupon codes - Customer Service settles disputes with Orbucks account credits - TSA Precheck reimbursement - can stack rewards by using any CC. Cons: - the app rate is often higher than the internet rate when all booking sites are displayed - the app non-refundable hotel rate is higher than the website refundable hotel rate, the price differential in app for cancellation is $9, website is as little as $3 - always displays about to sell out, yet will stay at half occupied hotels - customer service doesn’t improve between tier levels, i.e. India to U.S. - no benefit beyond 12+ nights Conclusion: I only use this app on employer paid business trips that allow me to kickback 10% in Orbucks. When booking personal travel, I don’t use the app, the rate is always $10-30/night more than the website. I’d recommend just using a good CC like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture with better rewards/perks and taking the best offer amongst the competition.

I enjoy booking with Orbitz and think the app is pretty good, but recently I am receiving advertisements over push notifications. I don’t see any way to disable these ads, and feel my trust was violated by receiving them. I want push notifications about my trips! But it’s scummy that trust is abused for other ads about special offers.

I like that the app finds good deals on hotels and use it frequently. It allows me to filter for “pet friendly” facilities— but, when i reserve a room at “pet friendly” hotel, the facility is not informed that I’m booking for me and my pet. So, i have to call separately to confirm that they have pet friendly rooms available. Also, the app does not provide information regarding additional fees for pets. And sometimes the pet rules described by the app are not accurate This could be improved.

I had a problem with my reservation I made in February for a trip in July. When I reviewed my itinerary I realized the problem and brought it immediately to orbitz attention. The lack of thorough and helpful info I was given is deplorable. This is my first experience with booking a hotel with orbitz and it will be my last. Too bad there isn’t a no star option to give. That would reflect the apathy with which this situation was handled.

My old password and user ID didn’t work when I downloaded the app. I telephoned for support and was unable to correct it. The agent gave me no help. So I currently have a record of one of my round-trip flights on the app but somehow don’t have the second round trip flight on it and don’t know what to do. I made the second reservations on the phone because I needed to call about the app and maybe that’s why it’s not on there but I still don’t have a working user ID and password.

For me the app is a waste of time. Prices from Bermuda to Bangkok return are way higher than the full site. Them prices on the full site come down if you select an airline. If you leave your that blank prices are much higher. I would have thought that If you don’t select an airline you would automatically get the cheapest prices.

Potential fraud alert

Be very careful when you book international flight tickets with Orbitz. I booked two Turkish airline tickets from Izmir AFB airport to Istanbul IST airport from Orbitz. the flight ticket for each person is around 250 dollars. Then I tried to book another ticket and happened to check Turkish airline official website. The same day same ticket is around 60 dollars. I then checked with several other tickets within Turkey. It is not a single case. It happened a lot for other flights with very different prices. Not sure if it is a trick from Orbitz or Turkish airline, but be very very careful with the international flights. Also, never use its price match service which is 10 dollars. It is another trick which can never help you. Even though I found this huge price difference, they will not refund me because of price match. They do not match other websites. They claim they only match if they get lower price on their website, and who knows how they decide price.

Often coupons do not appear at checkout. In particular when booking a package there is no often no option to use a legit coupon or promo code that should be available. This leads to long unnecessary calls on the phone.

I need to be able to search for multi-city flights. I usually travel by car or other means between different cities when I travel internationally, and I use flights to travel longer distances faster. The app doesn’t seem to currently support multi-city flight searches like your online website does.

Was charged when flight was “sold out” after going through all the process of booking. A pop-up said I wouldn’t be charged but was charged and it posted (not pending) on my account anyways. Had to go thru a long waited hold on the phone services to get it cancelled or refunded. Also, checked with orbitz and it showed that I had no Upcoming Trips even though the airline confirmed I had a reservation with them thru orbitz

Orbitz Has Been Good to Me

I have had great experience with Orbitz. On a recent trip from US to UK, they consistently had better prices on what I was booking. This was a surprise to me, as this site is not my normal “go-to”, and I don’t have a lot of experience with them I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they gave me Orbucks to use on future bookings. Very nice! I don’t know if I’m ready to say that I will always use them, but they will definitely be on the top of my list of “go-to’s” now. As far as customer service, I had an issue with my airline cancelling a flight. I randomly checked on it a few weeks before I left and found that my airline had cancelled one of my flights. I called Orbitz and they were extremely helpful in getting me on an alternative flight. I, quite honestly, was shocked, as I expected to have to deal with it myself with no support, which has been my typical experience with other travel sites. The gentleman with whom I spoke was extremely courteous and helpful, and kept me up to date regarding the progress of his conversation with the airline; (which even involved a language barrier.) Thank you, Orbitz.
Credit Card issues

I am very sad to report a low rating, because otherwise this site has the lowest prices and great customer service. I love the peace of mind knowing that I will be able to cancel within 24 hrs no questions asked. HOWEVER I am terrible displeased with their billing antics. They double charged me and tied up my credit while the second charge was “pending” and not allowing me to make any further purchases on my credit card, they just tossed the ball to the credit card’s court and said they can’t cancel it because it was not successfully charged (even though it shows as pending on my credit card still). So, now I’m stuck with a credit card that exceeds its limit by thousands of dollars until their pending charge (of double charging me) drops. This is the second time they have tied up my credit with their dumb pending charges of aloof transactions and have left me without available credit to make purchases in the mean time. How is a consumer to know that they’re going to tie up their credit on phony pending transactions that are in the air and unable to dispute because they haven’t been posted, but still charged!?!?! I am very disappointed to have to write a review like this, but enough is enough. (The app in itself is great. Great prices and functionality, but seriously can’t handle that this happened TWICE in one month).
Incompetent customer service

My account got hack and four tickets were purchased for a family from Bangkok to Shanghai. I was notified when I got an email asking if i wanted to protect my flight to Shanghai. I contacted “customer service” to find out what was going on. During the first call, I explained that my account was hack and the four tickets purchased needed to be cancelled. The first person didn’t know what to do, so passed me to a “supervisor” the “supervisor” started the conversation with, “I understand you are calling about your reservation to Shanghai” to which I responded “no, I’m calling because my account was hacked and i need to have the flights cancelled.” This Abbott and Costello routine went on for a few more “supervisors” before someone got me to a fraud department where i was eventually assured that flights were cancelled. Four days later, I noticed someone was trying to book a flight from Bangkok to Tokyo, so the process started over. I asked to be sent directly to the fraud department and was told there was no fraud department. At this point I asked that my account be completely deleted as it’s apparent the Orbitz is incapable of providing a secure website. My account has not been deleted and my credit card was charged for the flights.
Free 24 hour cancellation scam!

I booked a round trip flight. Well within the free 24 hour cancelation, I cancelled my booking. Well I thought I did! On the website it only cancels one leg of the round trip. Lucky I checked, so I tried to cancel the return online and it would not let me cancel at that time and to call customer service. I called and I got someone I could hardly hear due to bad connection and heavy accent. They called me back, canceled my booking and sent an email with the cancelation. I called days later for an unrelated issue and they said the return was still open and could get no refund but a voucher with penalty! After a review/ investigation they said I still owe! They even had a record of my call to cancel but had no notes! Well eventually I spoke to another supervisor who saw they made a mistake and someone added flight insurance that I didnt book! . Moral of the story, Orbitz makes it appear you cancel the “roundtrip booking” you only cancel one leg! Also when you cancel they are supposed to refund the booking fee and they dont. Also check statement on your bank card for any of their add ons they dont refund! Very deceiving business practices!!!
Worst company ever!

Short story they booked me for a 5am car rental for a company that was not open until 8am. They refused to give me my money back for the car rental because hey failed to inform me that I would need to put down a 2,000 deposit for said car rental company. Then when I got to the car company not only was I unable to get the car I booked 3 hours past the time Orbitz advertised Orbitz also made me jump through hoops to get a full refund. Thank God for the amazing staff at the car rental company they where totally transparent they let me wait in the lobby for a ride from my sister and when Orbitz claimed they spoke to them on the phone and couldn’t verify my “claim” the rental company told me they never received a call. Thanks to the rental company I got my money back and they hit Orbitz with a hefty fine courtesy of me and multiple customers. Also while I waited in the cold for three hours the lovely Orbitz staff suggested I walk to the rental company being that it was only 7 minutes away from the airport, the rental company was 7MILES away. They also offered to book me another car for full price because they are always looking out for their customers.

I booked a trip to the Royal playa del Carmen resort. While booking I asked the agent what the cancellation policy was, he said I had until April 25 to cancel with no fees. I called back 2hrs later to cancel the trip and the automated agent said I owed a 50% cancellation fee. I called back and spoke to a human, I thought. She said that was correct. I told he I asked about the policy before booking and what the agent said, she asked me if the agent read the disclaimer, which he didn’t. On to the supervisor who stated that was the hotel policy and he would look into it. I called the hotel and that WAS NOT their policy. ORBITZ LIED. Still waiting to hear back from orbitz as the said they record conversations to prove agent did not state policy. The call center is in India and that should tell you something. They push to book the trip as fast as they can. Oh I forgot. They sent a confirmation message to my cell and 1 min later sent a confirmation email with this policy at the end in fine print again never stating it was there. BEWARE OF ORBITZ!!! ORBITZ HAS BECOME A SCAM COMPANY

The app is easy to use, but if you make any type of mistakes and paid for it you will not get your money back for a very long time if you even get it back. I booked a flight within an hour I realize I made a mistake. After hours spent on the phone talking to customer service from another country they said they will send me the refund but it will take eight weeks. That is ridiculous. Customer service was nice but everyone seemed to have a different version of policy. And hard to understand. I booked nearly my entire three week tour from Orbitz, spent thousands, made one tiny mistake I caught within an hour. I will not use this to book anything in the future. Kayak, other sites, just as good and you can understand them as well as get refunded in a timely manner.
Changes are a problem

I have used Orbitz for years , I have only encountered a problem 1 time, trying to change a car service booking because of a flight delay. The 12 hour time difference between the US and my destination didn’t help. I lost my booking fee, because my arrival time was not changed as I thought Orbitz had done when after I contacted them. Baron car service said they had not been contacted by Orbitz when I arrived and so I had no car waiting for me to take me to my hotel when I arrived in Manila at 12am. I’ve booked flights through orbitz, never had a problem, booked hotels, no problems, BUT I never had to make any changes to any of those bookings. Orbitz is good in all aspects of booking an event for you. Just keep in mind , as with any travel agency, changes could be a problem.
No return baggage

First i want start by saying that i never had a problem with Orbitz before. However, this last trip i booked two flights to Madrid; had no problem on the way there but on the way back we had no return baggage on the reservation. This made no sense why would i reserve a flight to bring suitcase there but not back. Air Europe claims that happens all the time when not booking through the airline. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but i did looked all over Orbitz and i never got a notice that the free suitcase was to Madrid not back. We ended up having to pay over $150 each for our suitcase. Orbitz should have been cleared on this so we could’ve made accommodations for this and not surprised when we got to the airport. If it wasn’t bc this was my first issue with Orbitz i would’ve rated less.

Hey what happened? Used to be able to open flight details by tapping on flight date from My Trips page. Now it just opens a world map and won’t show you anything else. Did this happen with the latest update? FIX IT PLEASE! P.S. All these negative reviews for the APP: don’t blame the app or Orbitz if YOU don’t know the basics of booking travel - refund policies, hours of operation of the rental car place, the LOCATION OF THE HOTEL YOU ARE BOOKING. Orbitz follows industry standards when stating cancellation policies, refund requirements, and airline rules and regulations. You have to be an educated consumer to book your own travel. If you don’t want to get stuck or screwed for something YOU didn’t know, use a travel agent. “Do not try this at home.”
Potential fraud alert

Be very careful when you book international flight tickets with Orbitz. I booked two Turkish airline tickets from Izmir AFB airport to Istanbul IST airport from Orbitz. the flight ticket for each person is around 250 dollars. Then I tried to book another ticket and happened to check Turkish airline official website. The same day same ticket is around 60 dollars. I then checked with several other tickets within Turkey. It is not a single case. It happened a lot for other flights with very different prices. Not sure if it is a trick from Orbitz or Turkish airline, but be very very careful with the international flights. Also, never use its price match service which is 10 dollars. It is another trick which can never help you. Even though I found this huge price difference, they will not refund me because of price match. They do not match other websites. They claim they only match if they get lower price on their website, and who knows how they decide price.
Poor car rental service

Orbitz can do better by not taking my money for a car rental, just so I can get all the way to the airport in Norfolk, VA, to be told that they cannot give me a car because I do not have a Virginia license.. umm this is an airport, not likely people have a Virginia license because we’re TRAVELING! But excuse me, ma’am, you took my money, two weeks ago.. Left us stranded at the airport for an uncomfortable amount of time. The car rental staff was not very kind, basically told us it’s not their problem. WE had to pay for transportation to the hotel. And had to stay an EXTRA night at a hotel that costs $130 a night! I am extremely unhappy with the car rental experience. Other than that, there are no other complaints. Orbitz gave us a refund for the car rental $400 plus an additional $200 for reimbursement on the hotel & Uber.

I started using orbitz just to book flights. I found them to be the most competitive with pricing and their customer service was pretty good. Then one road trip when searching for airbnb with none in the area I liked, I remembered I’d recently loaded the orbitz app to my phone. I pulled it up to search for lodgings and it’s smart & efficient design made it great to use. The map feature is my favorite. But the whole layout from search to booking works as it should and now I use it whenever I travel. We’re currently on our most recent road trip and I’m sitting in a king bed with great bedding waiting for continental breakfast - toasty and comfortable. Thanks to the Orbitz app; thanks team orbitz 😊
Orbitz - Horrible Customer Experience When Attempting Changes or Cancellations

Good luck anytime you want to cancel a reservation on Orbitz. I am currently in the middle of a two hour fiasco, handed off to four Orbitz agents now on hold waiting for a fifth - “supervisor” who can “sign off” on the simple act of cancelling the last few days of a hotel reservation in NYC due to a change of plans. NEVER book a hotel through Orbitz if you have any potential for needing to change or alter the reservation. They are good at taking the money for a reservation, they work very, very hard not to refund anything if you need to make a change. I have been a customer for 15 years booking travel at least 10-15 times a year for our large family. Today I say goodbye to Orbitz - for good. The lifetime value of this customer ends today because Orbitz would rather keep a couple hundred bucks than honor my need to make a change.

Out of the 2 times I’ve used orbitz, I have had nothing but problems, I too was gonna cancel a flight, but was told I’d lose the money if I canceled my flight, even though they have a cancellation policy, which in effect is nothing but BS! I bought the flight insurance for $19, which is through a 3rd party on the website, it too was also a waste of money, the cancellation flight insurance doesn’t do anything for you, unless there’s a death in the family or you yourself have a medical emergency, this was never brought to my attention until I actually tried to cancel my flight, I will never use orbitz for anything again, they are not veteran friendly either, save yourself the aggravation and make your own flight plans through the airlines themselves, also American Airlines is the only airline that has a “no refunds policy” bad business in my opinion
Be careful with car rentals

I recently booked a rental car through them and the rental car company would not honor the rate that I had already paid to orbitz. In fact, they were trying to add on extra fees that were quadrupling the rate I paid! I decided to rent from another company who was honest and open with their rates and I was told I would not be charged for the reservation booked by orbitz. I asked for something in writing confirming that and the customer service represented very rudely tore up the contract in my face and threw it away. I contacted orbitz, and after being on hold for more than an hour, I was told they will not give me a refund. I had to fight for it, and after 2 weeks of communicating with them they did finally give me my refund.
Took forever to rebook a flight that was canceled.

I received a notice from Orbitz that my flight time had changed by more than 4 hours, and to click a link and a rep would call back within 48 hrs. He did and left an message with such broken English that I could not understand the call-back number. When I called a number from the website, guess what? Another rep who spoke broken English. Ridiculous. This is America and we speak English. If you are a customer rep, then use a language that is intelligible. Finally, it took her almost 25 minutes to rebook the flight. I had to ask 3 times if she was still there. The website is good ONLY IF you don’t have to speak to a “customer service rep” or if you are fortunate enough understand horrible accents.

I suspect the people that give negative reviews don’t know what they’re doing, and they blame the app. Anyways, I’ve used this company since before they even had an app. Great company, great app, works perfectly and always gets me a good cheap hotel when I’m on the road or gets me a great price on a flight when I want to go visit somebody. And I travel at least 4 to 5 times a year on a plane and 4 or 5 times in a car and use Orbitz almost every time. I’ve Used other apps occasionally for travel but they’re usually the same or more expensive

Pros: - 5% cash back in Orbucks using the app - +5% cash back in Orbucks using Orbitz CC - +varied% in coupon codes - Customer Service settles disputes with Orbucks account credits - TSA Precheck reimbursement - can stack rewards by using any CC. Cons: - the app rate is often higher than the internet rate when all booking sites are displayed - the app non-refundable hotel rate is higher than the website refundable hotel rate, the price differential in app for cancellation is $9, website is as little as $3 - always displays about to sell out, yet will stay at half occupied hotels - customer service doesn’t improve between tier levels, i.e. India to U.S. - no benefit beyond 12+ nights Conclusion: I only use this app on employer paid business trips that allow me to kickback 10% in Orbucks. When booking personal travel, I don’t use the app, the rate is always $10-30/night more than the website. I’d recommend just using a good CC like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture with better rewards/perks and taking the best offer amongst the competition.

Orbitz has all the information I am looking for in a simple to navigate App. There are similar apps but I found none that can beat the price of their bundled package deals. Once your trip is booked, flight and hotel info are at your fingertips! No more searching multiple places for your boarding pass, car reservation or hotel confirmation number! With 2 kids and a husband who can’t anything, the Orbitz App is the only one for me!

Using application is easy and useful especially in flight section. BUT you MUST be always alert when you are making reservation for hotel ! Why? E.g. Although I write 3 persons/room with breakfast. It offers prices without breakfast and etc. Of course it is not good to read everything when you want to be relaxed. We want to trust the application and therefore the company. Total price MUST be total. After seeing the last total price, you should not worry about the basic extras e.g. rollaway bed, because at the beginning if you wrote 2 adults and 1 child. Thank you for giving this opportunity sharing my feedback.

I normally use orbitz all the time. They have the lowest price a lot and it’s easy to use but the last few times I tried to buy through them I had problems. Like just now I went to buy airplane tickets. I filled out my info and hit complete purchase. It came back saying my flight had sold out. I thought I would double check and went through the process again (it didn’t save my passenger or payment info). This time it said the flight times has changed and made me enter the info AGAIN. Then it said the price had lowered. So I enter my info for a 4th time and it finally went through!

I tried to reserve a hotel and on the orbitz main page not in fine print it stated book now pay later. Well just FYI that is not always the case. I was charged the full amount for my reservation immediately after inputting my card number. Always check what the actual Hotel requires because orbitz will not refund your money. They will advise you to contact the actual Hotel and you will need to cancel you reservation and request a refund directly through them. So read the fine print and research if the actual Hotel requires a deposit. This to me is misleading and just plain wrong and not the way to conduct good business. I will stick to Expedia. Very unhappy customer here.

I love the Orbitz app. Its easy to use and convenient. Whenever I have had a problem with a reservation, I have called Orbitz directly and they resolved my issue...usually with just the 1 phone call. As a former travel consultant who encourages my friends and family to use an actual travel agency for “major” vacation plans such as cruises, European trips etc, I also encourage them to use Orbitz when they just need a hotel for a night or 2 or perhaps air only. I would and do recommend using Orbitz. 🙂

We have booked many trips through Orbitz over the years, last year we were traveling to Rome. We had many hotels booked, non- refundable. In October my wife was diagnosed with cancer. I called Orbitz and and explained. While I was on hold with them they called each hotel, kept me updated entire time, and got all our money back, every cent. We will never use another travel site. I like that the app finds good deals on hotels and use it frequently. It allows me to filter for “pet friendly” facilities— but, when i reserve a room at “pet friendly” hotel, the facility is not informed that I’m booking for me and my pet. So, i have to call separately to confirm that they have pet friendly rooms available. Also, the app does not provide information regarding additional fees for pets. And sometimes the pet rules described by the app are not accurate This could be improved.

This app allows you to search and book hotel, flight, or car for your trip. One major problem, you can choose number of guests when you book a hotel but not numbers of rooms. You can book only 1 room at a time. If you need to book 2 rooms you have to book twice. Funnily by second booking you get a warning that you have already booked same hotel for same date. This should be easily fixable. Will wait and see.

The little bit of money you save is not worth being treated like a third class citizen at the hotel you book thru this site. Amenities that are clearly listed as "included" are not always included according to the fine print as read by Olivia (Orbitz Customer Care Team otherwise known as No-Care Team). She didn't really even try to address the real issue of customer service but more concerned about reading fine print. Basically was saying better luck next time. Cool - guess maybe I'll have better luck booking elsewhere. Bottom line: book by other means🙂 and avoid the aggravation of a none caring company.
Impossible to cancel my flight

I booked a trip on orbitz and needed to cancel to days before the flight. The reason being the cost on orbitz is twice the amount of the cost on another site two days before the trip. I tried to cancel on the site and was informed that there was a glitch and I had to call, so I tried to reach customer service. I either get no one after waiting for over 20 mins. Or when I received a call back, I was supposed to press 1 to connect, but whenever I press 1, I get disconnected. Worst experience ever with all travel sites. The company is going under. I will never book again with orbitz.

Orbitz has the best rewards hands down. Wherever you travel, you earn Orbucks which can be used towards your next trip. Orbitz more times than not offers coupon codes throughout the year. Which in my opinion sets them apart from Expedia or Travelocity. VIP hotels offer an amenity like a free upgrade or complimentary breakfast- which I have experienced at several hotels. (A very pleasant plus!)

Would be nice if the Multi City feature could be accessed through the app, as I am a frequent cruiser. Also, it would be great if there were package options on a one way ticket...again...frequent cruiser here. Would love to be able to pair a deal out of San Diego on a One way before embarking on a PC cruise. (Not all cruises are round trip, you know. 😇) Other than that, I’ve been pretty happy with the app and it’s functionality.

I had an awful experience with Orbitz. I made a booking and tried to cancel it with in 5 minutes. Orbitz support it’s non refundable. So I planned to stay in the same motel which gave me bug bites all over my hands. I asked orbitz to refund my booking cost as they are the reason for my current situation. They softly rejected saying it was processed through billing with hotel the moment u booked so we were not able to cancel the booking and we will make sure your next trip is good. I don’t want to suggest Orbitz to anyone as they are not bothered about customers and their experience.
Rental car misleading

We needed a large SUV or van for vacation. Booked a reservation through Orbitz for a Ford Expedition or comparable and doubled checked the reservation with Enterprise and it said a Cadillac STX 4 door car! Booked a second reservation for a Ford Transit Wagon which is a very large van. Checked again with Enterprise again and it came up as a tiny Kia Soul!!!!! Called Orbitz and they had the excuse that it’s up to the local rental car place to determine what kind of car you get. What?!?!?! I get the make of car such as Ford Expedition or Nissan Armada. But to downsize to a car? And the large van to a Kia Soul, seriously?? Terrible first impression and won’t be using them again.

This app is the WORST!!!! While booking a flight across country after putting in my family members info it defaulted my info into the ticket AFTER I confirmed purchase! Called customer care and they didn't do ANYTHING! I asked to speak with a manager and she said she would do an investigation to determine if there was a glitch and NEVER came back to the line! Sent the rep back to the line to tell me it was nothing they could do to correct the name they THEIR system glitched and defaulted, leaving my family member stranded! Most horrible experience I've ever encountered in my life! If I could give this app 0 stars I would!!!!

I debated giving 5 stars but there's always room for improvement. However, overall, this is an effective and user friendly app. I use it often for airfare and almost exclusively for hotels. So far, I've never had an issue. I especially like that for a few dollars more per night, per room you can book now and pay later and can cancel up to 24 hours before reservation.

It’s my third time that I’m using orbit it was always in my back pocket I never used to serve as the primary source of trouble but for the last three times orbit at saved my trip by making sure that my reservations we’re booked on time there was no miscommunication and that I have A safe travel moving forward all my bookings will happen at orbit.

I often travel up to a few times per month and I ALWAYS use the orbitz app! They are always the best price around ! They will always refund you within a certain time if needed and also they alert you if the price drops on one of your purchase flights. Easy to you and always customer friendly!

Normally Orbitz would include information about the deposit fee and so on and so fourth however it did not for my newest hotel stay purchase using the app. Which was inconvenient because I then had to call and inquire about that information. This took away from the main reason I use this app which is convenience. Also the zoom on the hotel pictures is disabled I did not like this feature on the app.

I’ve had my share fair of issues with orbitz but i must say they are amazing i had and issue with my reservations Orbitz made sure they did everything in their power to help me I had a wonderful time at the hotel they upgraded to at first I thought I was gonna have a horrible birthday weekend but it turned out to be one of the best trips I ever had

I have had a good experience with the app except for the fact that, when looking for flights, it doesn’t allow to search with flexible dates. That’s a huge inconvenience, the reason I finally use their site and not the app. Everything else works fine—but the flexible dates feature is very important in flight searches and I hope that will be included in future versions of the app.

My old password and user ID didn’t work when I downloaded the app. I telephoned for support and was unable to correct it. The agent gave me no help. So I currently have a record of one of my round-trip flights on the app but somehow don’t have the second round trip flight on it and don’t know what to do. I made the second reservations on the phone because I needed to call about the app and maybe that’s why it’s not on there but I still don’t have a working user ID and password.

My one big issue is that I have their credit card and it’s amazing but Orbitz needs to incorporate their accessibility to make payments to card holders on their app. Countless other services do this and I know this will only elevate their customer services.

The directions for Thrifty car rentals was guiding me to a residential street in Portland. I drive around looking and gave up. I called the 800 number and got the correct location which was close to PDX Airport. I couldn't rent a vehicle due to not having 3x the rental amount on my credit card. I had the 3x amount on my debit but that was not acceptable. So besides the 5x amount on my debit I could not get the car. Unfortunately this was a day before Christmas Eve and it ruined my plans. Booking this using Orbitz and installing the app led me to believe all was well and no worries. I wish the credit card issue was clarified before taking the time to go to the rental lot. Also the wrong directions on the app leads me to low review score. Nice looking app but it didn't help in any way.

I’ve made 20+ bookings through Orbitz. If nothing goes wrong, it is a great bargain, but if something goes wrong, or a change needs to be made, prepare for the worst. For example, I had to change the first leg of a flight, but when I went to check in for the the return flight, I was told the reservation had been cancelled because I had “missed” the first leg. They wouldn’t do anything and it cost me over $1000 extra to get back home.
Booking fee scam

They charge non refundable booking fees for reservations (flights, hotels, etc). So even though you are able to cancel the reservation, the booking fees are never refunded. Instead, if you book directly with the hotel or airline then you can cancel the reservation and avoid any booking fees. Complete scam since other services are able to make money off the reservation without additional booking fees which means they are making more money than just the booking fees. Avoid Orbitz like the plague. Unless you like getting ripped off.

Used Orbitz to book a weekend in FL and they, without my knowledge, cancelled by outbound flight. I only found out when I arrived to the airport and attempted to check in only to discover I had no reserved ticket awaiting me. Orbitz initioclaimed I had cancelled the flight in March which is amazing since I booked it in January. I then had to argue with them to get a refund on my return flight. And I lost money because I had to cancel my hotel accommodations ($189 that orbitz should reimburse me for). Orbitz ruined my vacation and were very unsympathetic about the whole experience

I have phoned orbitz twice, they are really lovely and helpful and will call the hotel for you if necessary. Orbitz website also shows more accurate photos of each room type and more detailed info of the hotel that you don’t see on other sites.

I booked a trip on orbitz and needed to cancel to days before the flight. The reason being the cost on orbitz is twice the amount of the cost on another site two days before the trip. I tried to cancel on the site and was informed that there was a glitch and I had to call, so I tried to reach customer service. I either get no one after waiting for over 20 mins. Or when I received a call back, I was supposed to press 1 to connect, but whenever I press 1, I get disconnected. Worst experience ever with all travel sites. The company is going under. I will never book again with orbitz.

Needed to make one small change - it took 6 hours one day to do so including waiting over an hour on the phone for any human voice. And still Orbitz never made the change eight days later! They are blaming the airlines for this mess. So they should have told me to call the airlines directly and not falsely promised to make it for me. Lessons learned - don’t use Orbitz again.

I normally use orbitz all the time. They have the lowest price a lot and it’s easy to use but the last few times I tried to buy through them I had problems. Like just now I went to buy airplane tickets. I filled out my info and hit complete purchase. It came back saying my flight had sold out. I thought I would double check and went through the process again (it didn’t save my passenger or payment info). This time it said the flight times has changed and made me enter the info AGAIN. Then it said the price had lowered. So I enter my info for a 4th time and it finally went through!

I should be able to setup price alerts with the amount I want to pay for a certain date. Example is I want to set an alert for $250 per a trip I might book from 3/8/19-3/14. Plus the app doesn’t have home page when I’m looking at booking dates. If there are these features then they aren’t use or friendly.

I have been using Orbitz off and on for a couple years, but I used the site a bit interchangeably with other sites. But anyone who travels for a period of time knows there are mishaps and changes which occur when traveling. Today, Orbitz got me out of the third Jam in the last two years and has made a totally loyal customer. If you’re interested in why, read the story... if you care less just know Orbitz has always done what they could do to ease my travel bumps. Via the website or the human beings. The recent story: I had a hotel reservation on Booking.com that was cancelled due to an error in their systems. So the first thing I checked was to see if the hotel was available on Orbitz. It wasn’t. Not a single room. So I called Booking.com - and proceeded to hear for the next 25 minutes that nothing could be done because their systems had cancelled me - even worse that any escalation for a resolution would take about a day. On a whim toward the end of the call with Booking.com, I checked Orbitz again... and lo and behold there was my cancelled slot, open on Orbitz now as the “only room available at the hotel”. So I booked the room with Orbitz and will NEVER use Booking.com again.

Booked a king suite room, was told that it wasn’t guaranteed when I arrived to check in even though I paid for the upgraded room. Was given a double basic room. Orbitz hasn’t resolved this issue therefore I will not use Orbitz for my future travel needs.

The website is unreliable. The app doesn't allow you to view any credit voucher. The call center is for lack of a better word, crap. To speak to corporate is like bartering for water in the desert. I rather use a brick and mortar travel agent than this joke on app / company. I'll be avoiding them and there parent companies. You've been truly warned.

I used this app to rent a car. After Orbitz clearly confirmed that car is booked, after visiting car rental place no car was available. I spent over four hours to contact support and get a help, no luck. Orbitz customer service and customer service guarantee have a severe breach. Very disappointed. It happened to me twice already.

Pros: - 5% cash back in Orbucks using the app - +5% cash back in Orbucks using Orbitz CC - +varied% in coupon codes - Customer Service settles disputes with Orbucks account credits - TSA Precheck reimbursement - can stack rewards by using any CC. Cons: - the app rate is often higher than the internet rate when all booking sites are displayed - the app non-refundable hotel rate is higher than the website refundable hotel rate, the price differential in app for cancellation is $9, website is as little as $3 - always displays about to sell out, yet will stay at half occupied hotels - customer service doesn’t improve between tier levels, i.e. India to U.S. - no benefit beyond 12+ nights Conclusion: I only use this app on employer paid business trips that allow me to kickback 10% in Orbucks. When booking personal travel, I don’t use the app, the rate is always $10-30/night more than the website. I’d recommend just using a good CC like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture with better rewards/perks and taking the best offer amongst the competition.

I don’t see any way to disable these ads, and feel my trust was violated by receiving them. I want push notifications about my trips! But it’s scummy that trust is abused for other ads about special offers.

I like that the app finds good deals on hotels and use it frequently. It allows me to filter for “pet friendly” facilities— but, when i reserve a room at “pet friendly” hotel, the facility is not informed that I’m booking for me and my pet. So, i have to call separately to confirm that they have pet friendly rooms available. Also, the app does not provide information regarding additional fees for pets. And sometimes the pet rules described by the app are not accurate This could be improved.

I had a problem with my reservation I made in February for a trip in July. When I reviewed my itinerary I realized the problem and brought it immediately to orbitz attention. The lack of thorough and helpful info I was given is deplorable. This is my first experience with booking a hotel with orbitz and it will be my last. Too bad there isn’t a no star option to give. That would reflect the apathy with which this situation was handled.

For me the app is a waste of time. Prices from Bermuda to Bangkok return are way higher than the full site. Them prices on the full site come down if you select an airline. Be very careful when you book international flight tickets with Orbitz. I booked two Turkish airline tickets from Izmir AFB airport to Istanbul IST airport from Orbitz. the flight ticket for each person is around 250 dollars. Then I tried to book another ticket and happened to check Turkish airline official website. The same day same ticket is around 60 dollars. I then checked with several other tickets within Turkey. It is not a single case. It happened a lot for other flights with very different prices. Not sure if it is a trick from Orbitz or Turkish airline, but be very very careful with the international flights. Also, never use its price match service which is 10 dollars. It is another trick which can never help you. Even though I found this huge price difference, they will not refund me because of price match. They do not match other websites. They claim they only match if they get lower price on their website, and who knows how they decide price.

Often coupons do not appear at checkout. In particular when booking a package there is no often no option to use a legit coupon or promo code that should be available. This leads to long unnecessary calls on the phone.

I need to be able to search for multi-city flights. I usually travel by car or other means between different cities when I travel internationally, and I use flights to travel longer distances faster. The app doesn’t seem to currently support multi-city flight searches like your online website does.

Was charged when flight was “sold out” after going through all the process of booking. A pop-up said I wouldn’t be charged but was charged and it posted (not pending) on my account anyways. Had to go thru a long waited hold on the phone services to get it cancelled or refunded. Also, checked with orbitz and it showed that I had no Upcoming Trips even though the airline confirmed I had a reservation with them thru orbitz

Orbitz Has Been Good to Me

I have had great experience with Orbitz. On a recent trip from US to UK, they consistently had better prices on what I was booking. This was a surprise to me, as this site is not my normal “go-to”, and I don’t have a lot of experience with them I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they gave me Orbucks to use on future bookings. Very nice! I don’t know if I’m ready to say that I will always use them, but they will definitely be on the top of my list of “go-to’s” now. As far as customer service, I had an issue with my airline cancelling a flight. I randomly checked on it a few weeks before I left and found that my airline had cancelled one of my flights. I called Orbitz and they were extremely helpful in getting me on an alternative flight. I, quite honestly, was shocked, as I expected to have to deal with it myself with no support, which has been my typical experience with other travel sites. The gentleman with whom I spoke was extremely courteous and helpful, and kept me up to date regarding the progress of his conversation with the airline; (which even involved a language barrier.) Thank you, Orbitz.
Credit Card issues

I am very sad to report a low rating, because otherwise this site has the lowest prices and great customer service. I love the peace of mind knowing that I will be able to cancel within 24 hrs no questions asked. HOWEVER I am terrible displeased with their billing antics. They double charged me and tied up my credit while the second charge was “pending” and not allowing me to make any further purchases on my credit card, they just tossed the ball to the credit card’s court and said they can’t cancel it because it was not successfully charged (even though it shows as pending on my credit card still). So, now I’m stuck with a credit card that exceeds its limit by thousands of dollars until their pending charge (of double charging me) drops. This is the second time they have tied up my credit with their dumb pending charges of aloof transactions and have left me without available credit to make purchases in the mean time. How is a consumer to know that they’re going to tie up their credit on phony pending transactions that are in the air and unable to dispute because they haven’t been posted, but still charged!?!?! I am very disappointed to have to write a review like this, but enough is enough. (The app in itself is great. Great prices and functionality, but seriously can’t handle that this happened TWICE in one month).
Incompetent customer service

My account got hack and four tickets were purchased for a family from Bangkok to Shanghai. I was notified when I got an email asking if i wanted to protect my flight to Shanghai. I contacted “customer service” to find out what was going on. During the first call, I explained that my account was hack and the four tickets purchased needed to be cancelled. The first person didn’t know what to do, so passed me to a “supervisor” the “supervisor” started the conversation with, “I understand you are calling about your reservation to Shanghai” to which I responded “no, I’m calling because my account was hacked and i need to have the flights cancelled.” This Abbott and Costello routine went on for a few more “supervisors” before someone got me to a fraud department where i was eventually assured that flights were cancelled. Four days later, I noticed someone was trying to book a flight from Bangkok to Tokyo, so the process started over. I asked to be sent directly to the fraud department and was told there was no fraud department. At this point I asked that my account be completely deleted as it’s apparent the Orbitz is incapable of providing a secure website. My account has not been deleted and my credit card was charged for the flights.
Free 24 hour cancellation scam!

I booked a round trip flight. Well within the free 24 hour cancelation, I cancelled my booking. Well I thought I did! On the website it only cancels one leg of the round trip. Lucky I checked, so I tried to cancel the return online and it would not let me cancel at that time and to call customer service. I called and I got someone I could hardly hear due to bad connection and heavy accent. They called me back, canceled my booking and sent an email with the cancelation. I called days later for an unrelated issue and they said the return was still open and could get no refund but a voucher with penalty! After a review/ investigation they said I still owe! They even had a record of my call to cancel but had no notes! Well eventually I spoke to another supervisor who saw they made a mistake and someone added flight insurance that I didnt book! . Moral of the story, Orbitz makes it appear you cancel the “roundtrip booking” you only cancel one leg! Also when you cancel they are supposed to refund the booking fee and they dont. Also check statement on your bank card for any of their add ons they dont refund! Very deceiving business practices!!!
Worst company ever!

Short story they booked me for a 5am car rental for a company that was not open until 8am. They refused to give me my money back for the car rental because hey failed to inform me that I would need to put down a 2,000 deposit for said car rental company. Then when I got to the car company not only was I unable to get the car I booked 3 hours past the time Orbitz advertised Orbitz also made me jump through hoops to get a full refund. Thank God for the amazing staff at the car rental company they where totally transparent they let me wait in the lobby for a ride from my sister and when Orbitz claimed they spoke to them on the phone and couldn’t verify my “claim” the rental company told me they never received a call. Thanks to the rental company I got my money back and they hit Orbitz with a hefty fine courtesy of me and multiple customers. Also while I waited in the cold for three hours the lovely Orbitz staff suggested I walk to the rental company being that it was only 7 minutes away from the airport, the rental company was 7MILES away. They also offered to book me another car for full price because they are always looking out for their customers.

I booked a trip to the Royal playa del Carmen resort. While booking I asked the agent what the cancellation policy was, he said I had until April 25 to cancel with no fees. I called back 2hrs later to cancel the trip and the automated agent said I owed a 50% cancellation fee. I called back and spoke to a human, I thought. She said that was correct. I told he I asked about the policy before booking and what the agent said, she asked me if the agent read the disclaimer, which he didn’t. On to the supervisor who stated that was the hotel policy and he would look into it. I called the hotel and that WAS NOT their policy. ORBITZ LIED. Still waiting to hear back from orbitz as the said they record conversations to prove agent did not state policy. The call center is in India and that should tell you something. They push to book the trip as fast as they can. Oh I forgot. They sent a confirmation message to my cell and 1 min later sent a confirmation email with this policy at the end in fine print again never stating it was there. BEWARE OF ORBITZ!!! ORBITZ HAS BECOME A SCAM COMPANY

The app is easy to use, but if you make any type of mistakes and paid for it you will not get your money back for a very long time if you even get it back. I booked a flight within an hour I realize I made a mistake. After hours spent on the phone talking to customer service from another country they said they will send me the refund but it will take eight weeks. That is ridiculous. Customer service was nice but everyone seemed to have a different version of policy. And hard to understand. I booked nearly my entire three week tour from Orbitz, spent thousands, made one tiny mistake I caught within an hour. I will not use this to book anything in the future. Kayak, other sites, just as good and you can understand them as well as get refunded in a timely manner.
Changes are a problem

I have used Orbitz for years , I have only encountered a problem 1 time, trying to change a car service booking because of a flight delay. The 12 hour time difference between the US and my destination didn’t help. I lost my booking fee, because my arrival time was not changed as I thought Orbitz had done when after I contacted them. Baron car service said they had not been contacted by Orbitz when I arrived and so I had no car waiting for me to take me to my hotel when I arrived in Manila at 12am. I’ve booked flights through orbitz, never had a problem, booked hotels, no problems, BUT I never had to make any changes to any of those bookings. Orbitz is good in all aspects of booking an event for you. Just keep in mind , as with any travel agency, changes could be a problem.
No return baggage

First i want start by saying that i never had a problem with Orbitz before. However, this last trip i booked two flights to Madrid; had no problem on the way there but on the way back we had no return baggage on the reservation. This made no sense why would i reserve a flight to bring suitcase there but not back. Air Europe claims that happens all the time when not booking through the airline. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but i did looked all over Orbitz and i never got a notice that the free suitcase was to Madrid not back. We ended up having to pay over $150 each for our suitcase. Orbitz should have been cleared on this so we could’ve made accommodations for this and not surprised when we got to the airport. If it wasn’t bc this was my first issue with Orbitz i would’ve rated less.

Hey what happened? Used to be able to open flight details by tapping on flight date from My Trips page. Now it just opens a world map and won’t show you anything else. Did this happen with the latest update? FIX IT PLEASE! P.S. All these negative reviews for the APP: don’t blame the app or Orbitz if YOU don’t know the basics of booking travel - refund policies, hours of operation of the rental car place, the LOCATION OF THE HOTEL YOU ARE BOOKING. Orbitz follows industry standards when stating cancellation policies, refund requirements, and airline rules and regulations. You have to be an educated consumer to book your own travel. If you don’t want to get stuck or screwed for something YOU didn’t know, use a travel agent. “Do not try this at home.”

Poor car rental service

Orbitz can do better by not taking my money for a car rental, just so I can get all the way to the airport in Norfolk, VA, to be told that they cannot give me a car because I do not have a Virginia license.. umm this is an airport, not likely people have a Virginia license because we’re TRAVELING! But excuse me, ma’am, you took my money, two weeks ago.. Left us stranded at the airport for an uncomfortable amount of time. The car rental staff was not very kind, basically told us it’s not their problem. WE had to pay for transportation to the hotel. And had to stay an EXTRA night at a hotel that costs $130 a night! I am extremely unhappy with the car rental experience. Other than that, there are no other complaints. Orbitz gave us a refund for the car rental $400 plus an additional $200 for reimbursement on the hotel & Uber.

I started using orbitz just to book flights. I found them to be the most competitive with pricing and their customer service was pretty good. Then one road trip when searching for airbnb with none in the area I liked, I remembered I’d recently loaded the orbitz app to my phone. I pulled it up to search for lodgings and it’s smart & efficient design made it great to use. The map feature is my favorite. But the whole layout from search to booking works as it should and now I use it whenever I travel. We’re currently on our most recent road trip and I’m sitting in a king bed with great bedding waiting for continental breakfast - toasty and comfortable. Thanks to the Orbitz app; thanks team orbitz 😊
Orbitz - Horrible Customer Experience When Attempting Changes or Cancellations

Good luck anytime you want to cancel a reservation on Orbitz. I am currently in the middle of a two hour fiasco, handed off to four Orbitz agents now on hold waiting for a fifth - “supervisor” who can “sign off” on the simple act of cancelling the last few days of a hotel reservation in NYC due to a change of plans. NEVER book a hotel through Orbitz if you have any potential for needing to change or alter the reservation. They are good at taking the money for a reservation, they work very, very hard not to refund anything if you need to make a change. I have been a customer for 15 years booking travel at least 10-15 times a year for our large family. Today I say goodbye to Orbitz - for good. The lifetime value of this customer ends today because Orbitz would rather keep a couple hundred bucks than honor my need to make a change.

Out of the 2 times I’ve used orbitz, I have had nothing but problems, I too was gonna cancel a flight, but was told I’d lose the money if I canceled my flight, even though they have a cancellation policy, which in effect is nothing but BS! I bought the flight insurance for $19, which is through a 3rd party on the website, it too was also a waste of money, the cancellation flight insurance doesn’t do anything for you, unless there’s a death in the family or you yourself have a medical emergency, this was never brought to my attention until I actually tried to cancel my flight, I will never use orbitz for anything again, they are not veteran friendly either, save yourself the aggravation and make your own flight plans through the airlines themselves, also American Airlines is the only airline that has a “no refunds policy” bad business in my opinion
Be careful with car rentals

I recently booked a rental car through them and the rental car company would not honor the rate that I had already paid to orbitz. In fact, they were trying to add on extra fees that were quadrupling the rate I paid! I decided to rent from another company who was honest and open with their rates and I was told I would not be charged for the reservation booked by orbitz. I asked for something in writing confirming that and the customer service represented very rudely tore up the contract in my face and threw it away. I contacted orbitz, and after being on hold for more than an hour, I was told they will not give me a refund. I had to fight for it, and after 2 weeks of communicating with them they did finally give me my refund.
Took forever to rebook a flight that was canceled.

I received a notice from Orbitz that my flight time had changed by more than 4 hours, and to click a link and a rep would call back within 48 hrs. He did and left an message with such broken English that I could not understand the call-back number. When I called a number from the website, guess what? Another rep who spoke broken English. Ridiculous. This is America and we speak English. If you are a customer rep, then use a language that is intelligible. Finally, it took her almost 25 minutes to rebook the flight. I had to ask 3 times if she was still there. The website is good ONLY IF you don’t have to speak to a “customer service rep” or if you are fortunate enough understand horrible accents.

I suspect the people that give negative reviews don’t know what they’re doing, and they blame the app. Anyways, I’ve used this company since before they even had an app. Great company, great app, works perfectly and always gets me a good cheap hotel when I’m on the road or gets me a great price on a flight when I want to go visit somebody. And I travel at least 4 to 5 times a year on a plane and 4 or 5 times in a car and use Orbitz almost every time. I’ve Used other apps occasionally for travel but they’re usually the same or more expensive

Pros: - 5% cash back in Orbucks using the app - +5% cash back in Orbucks using Orbitz CC - +varied% in coupon codes - Customer Service settles disputes with Orbucks account credits - TSA Precheck reimbursement - can stack rewards by using any CC. Cons: - the app rate is often higher than the internet rate when all booking sites are displayed - the app non-refundable hotel rate is higher than the website refundable hotel rate, the price differential in app for cancellation is $9, website is as little as $3 - always displays about to sell out, yet will stay at half occupied hotels - customer service doesn’t improve between tier levels, i.e. India to U.S. - no benefit beyond 12+ nights Conclusion: I only use this app on employer paid business trips that allow me to kickback 10% in Orbucks. When booking personal travel, I don’t use the app, the rate is always $10-30/night more than the website. I’d recommend just using a good CC like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture with better rewards/perks and taking the best offer amongst the competition.

My family and I travel extensively. I spend hours researching the best flights and hotels....until now. Orbitz has all the information I am looking for in a simple to navigate App. There are similar apps but I found none that can beat the price of their bundled package deals. Once your trip is booked, flight and hotel info are at your fingertips! No more searching multiple places for your boarding pass, car reservation or hotel confirmation number! With 2 kids and a husband who can’t anything, the Orbitz App is the only one for me!

Using application is easy and useful especially in flight section. BUT you MUST be always alert when you are making reservation for hotel ! Why? E.g. Although I write 3 persons/room with breakfast. It offers prices without breakfast and etc. Of course it is not good to read everything when you want to be relaxed. We want to trust the application and therefore the company. Total price MUST be total. After seeing the last total price, you should not worry about the basic extras e.g. rollaway bed, because at the beginning if you wrote 2 adults and 1 child. I normally use orbitz all the time. They have the lowest price a lot and it’s easy to use but the last few times I tried to buy through them I had problems. Like just now I went to buy airplane tickets. I filled out my info and hit complete purchase. It came back saying my flight had sold out. I thought I would double check and went through the process again (it didn’t save my passenger or payment info). This time it said the flight times has changed and made me enter the info AGAIN. Then it said the price had lowered. So I enter my info for a 4th time and it finally went through!

I tried to reserve a hotel and on the orbitz main page not in fine print it stated book now pay later. Well just FYI that is not always the case. I was charged the full amount for my reservation immediately after inputting my card number. Always check what the actual Hotel requires because orbitz will not refund your money. They will advise you to contact the actual Hotel and you will need to cancel you reservation and request a refund directly through them. So read the fine print and research if the actual Hotel requires a deposit. This to me is misleading and just plain wrong and not the way to conduct good business. I will stick to Expedia. Very unhappy customer here.

I love the Orbitz app. Its easy to use and convenient. Whenever I have had a problem with a reservation, I have called Orbitz directly and they resolved my issue...usually with just the 1 phone call. As a former travel consultant who encourages my friends and family to use an actual travel agency for “major” vacation plans such as cruises, European trips etc, I also encourage them to use Orbitz when they just need a hotel for a night or 2 or perhaps air only. I would and do recommend using Orbitz. 🙂

I called Orbitz and and explained. While I was on hold with them they called each hotel, kept me updated entire time, and got all our money back, every cent. We will never use another travel site. I like that the app finds good deals on hotels and use it frequently. It allows me to filter for “pet friendly” facilities— but, when i reserve a room at “pet friendly” hotel, the facility is not informed that I’m booking for me and my pet. So, i have to call separately to confirm that they have pet friendly rooms available. Also, the app does not provide information regarding additional fees for pets. And sometimes the pet rules described by the app are not accurate This could be improved.

This app allows you to search and book hotel, flight, or car for your trip. One major problem, you can choose number of guests when you book a hotel but not numbers of rooms. You can book only 1 room at a time. If you need to book 2 rooms you have to book twice. Funnily by second booking you get a warning that you have already booked same hotel for same date. This should be easily fixable. Will wait and see.

The little bit of money you save is not worth being treated like a third class citizen at the hotel you book thru this site. Amenities that are clearly listed as "included" are not always included according to the fine print as read by Olivia (Orbitz Customer Care Team otherwise known as No-Care Team). She didn't really even try to address the real issue of customer service but more concerned about reading fine print. Basically was saying better luck next time. Cool - guess maybe I'll have better luck booking elsewhere. Bottom line: book by other means🙂 and avoid the aggravation of a none caring company.
Impossible to cancel my flight

I booked a trip on orbitz and needed to cancel to days before the flight. The reason being the cost on orbitz is twice the amount of the cost on another site two days before the trip. I tried to cancel on the site and was informed that there was a glitch and I had to call, so I tried to reach customer service. I either get no one after waiting for over 20 mins. Or when I received a call back, I was supposed to press 1 to connect, but whenever I press 1, I get disconnected. Worst experience ever with all travel sites. The company is going under. I will never book again with orbitz.

Orbitz has the best rewards hands down. Wherever you travel, you earn Orbucks which can be used towards your next trip. Orbitz more times than not offers coupon codes throughout the year. Which in my opinion sets them apart from Expedia or Travelocity. VIP hotels offer an amenity like a free upgrade or complimentary breakfast- which I have experienced at several hotels. (A very pleasant plus!)

Would be nice if the Multi City feature could be accessed through the app, as I am a frequent cruiser. Also, it would be great if there were package options on a one way ticket...again...frequent cruiser here. Would love to be able to pair a deal out of San Diego on a One way before embarking on a PC cruise. (Not all cruises are round trip, you know. 😇) Other than that, I’ve been pretty happy with the app and it’s functionality.

I had an awful experience with Orbitz. I made a booking and tried to cancel it with in 5 minutes. Orbitz support it’s non refundable. So I planned to stay in the same motel which gave me bug bites all over my hands. I asked orbitz to refund my booking cost as they are the reason for my current situation. They softly rejected saying it was processed through billing with hotel the moment u booked so we were not able to cancel the booking and we will make sure your next trip is good. I don’t want to suggest Orbitz to anyone as they are not bothered about customers and their experience.
Rental car misleading

We needed a large SUV or van for vacation. Booked a reservation through Orbitz for a Ford Expedition or comparable and doubled checked the reservation with Enterprise and it said a Cadillac STX 4 door car! Booked a second reservation for a Ford Transit Wagon which is a very large van. Checked again with Enterprise again and it came up as a tiny Kia Soul!!!!! Called Orbitz and they had the excuse that it’s up to the local rental car place to determine what kind of car you get. What?!?!?! I get the make of car such as Ford Expedition or Nissan Armada. But to downsize to a car? And the large van to a Kia Soul, seriously?? Terrible first impression and won’t be using them again.
App defaulted my info!!!

This app is the WORST!!!! While booking a flight across country after putting in my family members info it defaulted my info into the ticket AFTER I confirmed purchase! Called customer care and they didn't do ANYTHING! I asked to speak with a manager and she said she would do an investigation to determine if there was a glitch and NEVER came back to the line! Sent the rep back to the line to tell me it was nothing they could do to correct the name they THEIR system glitched and defaulted, leaving my family member stranded! Most horrible experience I've ever encountered in my life! If I could give this app 0 stars I would!!!!
Not Perfect but VERY Good!

I debated giving 5 stars but there's always room for improvement. However, overall, this is an effective and user friendly app. I use it often for airfare and almost exclusively for hotels. So far, I've never had an issue. I especially like that for a few dollars more per night, per room you can book now and pay later and can cancel up to 24 hours before reservation.

It’s my third time that I’m using orbit it was always in my back pocket I never used to serve as the primary source of trouble but for the last three times orbit at saved my trip by making sure that my reservations we’re booked on time there was no miscommunication and that I have A safe travel moving forward all my bookings will happen at orbit.

I often travel up to a few times per month and I ALWAYS use the orbitz app! They are always the best price around ! They will always refund you within a certain time if needed and also they alert you if the price drops on one of your purchase flights. Easy to you and always customer friendly!
Lacking in Information

Normally Orbitz would include information about the deposit fee and so on and so fourth however it did not for my newest hotel stay purchase using the app. Which was inconvenient because I then had to call and inquire about that information. This took away from the main reason I use this app which is convenience. Also the zoom on the hotel pictures is disabled I did not like this feature on the app.

Just wanted to thank Rose for her helping me find information about my flight. Rose went above and beyond and I shall visit Orbitz more because this has happened. Really, she really really took my fear away as I thought I had done something wrong and deleted a flight. I’ve had my share fair of issues with orbitz but i must say they are amazing i had and issue with my reservations Orbitz made sure they did everything in their power to help me I had a wonderful time at the hotel they upgraded to at first I thought I was gonna have a horrible birthday weekend but it turned out to be one of the best trips I ever had

The app is very well designed and extremely easy to use! We booked many hotels and flights through it at the last minute and everything worked flawlessly! I have a need to contact a few of the hotels we stayed at but cannot find a history. Please add a view to view see old bookings and tickets.

I have had a good experience with the app except for the fact that, when looking for flights, it doesn’t allow to search with flexible dates. That’s a huge inconvenience, the reason I finally use their site and not the app. Everything else works fine—but the flexible dates feature is very important in flight searches and I hope that will be included in future versions of the app.
Problems with app

My old password and user ID didn’t work when I downloaded the app. I telephoned for support and was unable to correct it. The agent gave me no help. So I currently have a record of one of my round-trip flights on the app but somehow don’t have the second round trip flight on it and don’t know what to do. I made the second reservations on the phone because I needed to call about the app and maybe that’s why it’s not on there but I still don’t have a working user ID and password.

I’ve really enjoyed this app and it’s services. My one big issue is that I have their credit card and it’s amazing but Orbitz needs to incorporate their accessibility to make payments to card holders on their app. Countless other services do this and I know this will only elevate their customer services.

The directions for Thrifty car rentals was guiding me to a residential street in Portland. I drive around looking and gave up. I called the 800 number and got the correct location which was close to PDX Airport. I couldn't rent a vehicle due to not having 3x the rental amount on my credit card. I had the 3x amount on my debit but that was not acceptable. So besides the 5x amount on my debit I could not get the car. Unfortunately this was a day before Christmas Eve and it ruined my plans. Booking this using Orbitz and installing the app led me to believe all was well and no worries. I wish the credit card issue was clarified before taking the time to go to the rental lot. Also the wrong directions on the app leads me to low review score. Nice looking app but it didn't help in any way.
Great site if nothing goes wrong - then horrible

I’ve made 20+ bookings through Orbitz. If nothing goes wrong, it is a great bargain, but if something goes wrong, or a change needs to be made, prepare for the worst. For example, I had to change the first leg of a flight, but when I went to check in for the the return flight, I was told the reservation had been cancelled because I had “missed” the first leg. They wouldn’t do anything and it cost me over $1000 extra to get back home.
Booking fee scam

They charge non refundable booking fees for reservations (flights, hotels, etc). So even though you are able to cancel the reservation, the booking fees are never refunded. Instead, if you book directly with the hotel or airline then you can cancel the reservation and avoid any booking fees. Complete scam since other services are able to make money off the reservation without additional booking fees which means they are making more money than just the booking fees. Avoid Orbitz like the plague. Unless you like getting ripped off.
Ruined weekend

Used Orbitz to book a weekend in FL and they, without my knowledge, cancelled by outbound flight. I only found out when I arrived to the airport and attempted to check in only to discover I had no reserved ticket awaiting me. Orbitz initioclaimed I had cancelled the flight in March which is amazing since I booked it in January. I then had to argue with them to get a refund on my return flight. And I lost money because I had to cancel my hotel accommodations ($189 that orbitz should reimburse me for). Orbitz ruined my vacation and were very unsympathetic about the whole experience
