Overall production values and vicious action put Samurai II on par with console 3D brawlers. Screenshots don’t do Samurai II justice – the fluid action has to be seen running at 60 frames per second on the Retina display or popping off the iPad screen. But looks alone won’t carry a game – the developers listened to fan feedback and improved gameplay throughout. With a new virtual d-pad, dynamic camera, environmental puzzles, traps, and vicious new enemies, Samurai II is brand new experience for hack ‘n’ slash gamers on the go. Samurai II sends Daisuke on a quest for revenge across the war-scorched countryside. From a seafaring village to a flying fortress to the legendary Isle of the Dead, the samurai will stop at nothing to hunt down his arch-enemy Orochi. Will he get his Vengeance? FEATURES: * Intuitive virtual joystick ensures you’re slicing up baddies, not swiping the screen. * dynamic camera finds the best perspective for each encounter, adding variety while keeping focused on the action. * Tense, quick and gory battle sequences! - Battle hordes of on-screen enemies wielding new weapons and sporting unique abilities. - Stay nimble and plan your attacks – roll out of harm’s way and eliminate ranged enemies like the Samurai archer before they can strike. * Improved gameplay includes new features. - Solve environmental puzzles, avoid dangerous traps, and discover useful items. - The fight is on - not to worry, the combat never takes a back seat to platforming or fetch-quests. * RPG elements reward skilled players – upgrade the Samurai’s health, buy new attack combos and upgrade them to devastating levels. * Between levels, gorgeous anime-style comic panels tell the samurai’s tale with original hand-drawn artwork. * New survival mode pits the samurai against waves of enemies, giving hardcore players a score-attack mode to hone their skills. Two games in one! * Advanced AI system on par with console games. Goal Oriented Action Planning architecture is used in many PC and console games. * Apple Game Center support, including Leaderboards and Achievements. *Support iCloud to transfer save between various devices *Support MFI Controllers (Gamepads) * Original soundtrack – in classic samurai movie style, soft music builds with the heat of battle. This game is from the golden age of the app market. You pay one price and you get one great game. And this is one of the best. If this game was made today it would be casino style with a bunch of terrible spin and win games scattered throughout and a constant barrage of them trying to sell you coins or xp or something. Started this game in 2011 and I'm just replaying it now and realizing how great gaming could be on a phone if money hadn't ruined it.

I am so impressed with the atmosphere. It feels very much like Okami. The hand drawn look is so classic Japanese. I used to see old original paintings of Japan from hundreds of years ago, and in those paintings I could see the same feeling in the ink as the view on the game appears. The action and combat is rock-solid. It looks just as advertised in the preview video. Just as beautiful, the combat is just as fun, dynamic, and interactive. Now the sound effects, the sound in general… Spot on! Authentic Japanese in every way. Well done guys! I’m thrilled with the results. The graphics are gorgeous, and it won’t disappoint. Not kidding!! Get it if this game type is your thing. This is SO worth it. But find out for yourself. Go get it! Enjoy👍🏻

Ok devs. Who are you? And what possessed you to hurl this kind of awesomness (word?) at us this far after the last update?! Whatever it is, keep it up! I've always told people this was a top 5 of all time App Store game, and this update catapulted it to number 1 in my book. Satisfying combat, good enemy mixing, brilliant pacing, and AMAZING visuals. 60fps was a nice touch. Anyway, thanks and PLEASE give us Samurai THREE!!!

Difficult
by BummaHam on 2014/01/20 14:53
It's a good game, with beautiful graphics. My only complaint is how hard the game is in the latter stages. Even on "easy" this game is hard. This game is for the hard core gamers.....casual gamers will experience frustration. Too many enemies, it wouldn't be as bad if you could block, or if you had an UZI or AK47......you're on your last drop of life, you defeat the last man standing on board....then, 8 more spawn from thin air...,you say "fu&k it", and turn the game off.

Extremely irritating!!!!!
by Kelethor on 2012/12/24 18:18
I played the first samurai game and loved it and I have enjoyed this game so far too. Except for the fact that on the watergate level when I complete the level and it goes to the loading screen it crashes, when I reboot the game it takes me back to the watergate level and If I complete the level again the same thing happens. I payed 3 bucks for this game and I'm really irritated when I went to app support to tell about my problem it took me to their website where all I found were advertisements for other games. So until this gets fixed I'm giving this game a bad rating for the fact that I cannot complete the game that I payed money for.
New series!!

by Darth Shinzu on 2012/11/19 00:47

Controls are difficult
by MileHighDenver on 2012/11/15 20:36
This game looks great. Richly stylized graphics. The downside is most of the environments look the same. The controls are very difficult to use and don't seem too responsive when quickly tapping. The level of difficulty is severe even on easy and there is no way to gain health once a battle has started leading to repeating very long battles due to dying constantly.
Good game. Well polished. Difficulty levels skewed.
by LiterateEngineer on 2012/11/04 13:45
Great game with a lot of blood and gore. Play it on easy or you'll be sorry. No way to change difficulty once you start.
Awesome game!
by ben759 on 2012/10/23 05:21
Nice graphics and gameplay. Very addicted and lovely, worth 3$ !
Gorgeous but Monotonous
by Shadowfax1983 on 2012/10/13 15:20
It's gorgeous but I feel it is monotonous, there is a combo system which is not very good, doesn't work when I tap too quickly, need to time it right but some enemies move so fast that the combos are useless since they break it. Button mashing gets tiring after a while.
iPhone 5 update

by RyanJT18 on 2012/07/28 23:55
I Would love if you can add in a future update, different element style jutsu and can pick only one style element jutsu to use the whole game. But you upgrade that just like your combos and you manipulate the element you've picked in different ways.

by BitingChaos on 2012/07/08 05:19
The dialog is poorly-written. Is this on purpose? It's like a 3rd-grader wrote things. You can create a game but can't bother with correct grammar or punctuation? The controls are loose and unresponsive.
Pretty good

Please update or release 3!!!!!
Not bad
by mario____b on 2012/01/29 15:15
This game revolves largely around the sword fighting, which happens to be fairly repetitive (hit a button over and over) and often too difficult (WAY too many enemies to fight, too little health). Controls are also occasionally unresponsive, such as the "tap for continue" button after a death occurs. Not entirely happy with the three dollars I paid. The environments that fighting takes place in are beautiful, however (the game's one redeeming factor). UPDATE: I just found out about the combos and health power ups, making this game far less impossible, and much more entertaining. If you've got three bucks, there are worse ways to spend it.
Could not stop playing
by tj sax on 2012/01/27 07:38
This is the game I needed! I have been looking for a game to challenge me and still be beatable and enjoyable at the same time. The more I play the closer I get to being Ronin. After I got rid of my PS2 I couldn't play my favorite game "Kengo" anymore. Now I have the same style of game on my iPod. Thank u guys. I have two other samurai games u guys made but I love this one the most. Guess I should give my thumbs a break
Crashes on Load
by apowers313 on 2011/12/31 06:54
Crashes on iPod 3rd gen as soon as I try to play the chapters; Dojo works fine. If you're on an iPod don't waste your time on this, just get the free Dojo version of the game instead.
Love this game!
by Tony The Tiger on 2011/12/22 20:06
Just difficult enough to stay challenging and I love the art direction. One thing I did notice is the front menus seem to be zoomed in slightly so things are being cut off on the side, not a huge deal but just want to put it out there so the devs are aware.

Why does this game close every time It goes to load screen? Please fix.
Keeps crashing..
by Kurotenshi on 2011/11/22 05:22
Hello, this game keeps crashing. I just bought it Iike 20 minutes ago, and every time I try to play story mode, it displays the loading screen, then I get sent back to spring board. What's the problem? I've tried deleting it and installing it again, but to no avail. The Dojo works though, but it's not worth a penny, since there is already a separate Dojo game(which I also have) I know I can't get my money back, but I hope for a new update soon and someone to respond and help me if possible.
Great Game

Game won't load
by blackwaterjigger on 2011/08/29 11:31
To the developer: I like the graphics and the reviews seemed fine. I bought this game twice already and the same thing keeps happening: Whenever I go to the Maina Menu and select "GAME", it shuts down. I've never been able to play any chapter at all. Only "DOJO" works fine. What's up with that? Please fix this issue. I'm looking forward to how well you guys can respond to this concern. Until then, 1 star and consistent follow ups.
Amazingggg!!!!!!!

Make another one!! Samurai 3!!!!!!
Very well done
by binx23 on 2011/08/22 13:37
The art style alone is worth the purchase. It's like Muramasa and Okami styled, very detailed and the gameplay is very fun. If your a fan of Japanese styled games this is a must have. Runs perfect on iPad 2. Controls are on point and adjustable. Hack and slash games are a little repetitive, but I enjoy the gameplay for what it is especially an iOS one that's this well done. This is my favorite game on here, so do yourself a favor and buy it.
Can't finish the 1st level

by Ray1211 on 2011/08/22 01:12
I love the game. But the problems I'm having is. Once I beat a level, the game shuts down (crashes) and then I need to start over from the saving point. Please fix this. Other then that game is great
Average, but not good
by Ralphyx on 2011/08/15 17:03
I would be able to enjoy this game much more if it weren't for the sudden spike of difficulty in the 3rd chapter. The game suddenly goes from being appropriately challenging to being ridiculously and very frustrating difficult way too fast as I find it impossible to dodge enemy attacks in this part of the game. That and the controls lack variety (no super moves, super combos). The game also does not have a large enough variety of enemies, causing the game to seem more boring and repetitive as you move along. It can be fun, but no where near as fun as some people make it out to be. It's okay, but nothing special.
Great graphics, but repetitive...
by PBnJStock on 2011/08/06 06:33
Like I said.
First one was better
by Hastyle1 on 2011/07/29 13:40
Way to ruin a game. Control buttons r too close together, can't control character's direction that well, direction pad not too responsive. You still can't control the number of slashes but even worst is now a tumble button is added so you can control tumbles as well. First game was much better imo.
Nicely done!
by RSKITALL on 2011/07/25 21:05
First congrats on a great game. Controls are great on both iphone and ipad. I played and beat this game on Hard/Ronin, and found it to be generally good fun. I'd like to offer a few suggestions for improving gameplay. 1. More Enemy Types. There are only about 6 different enemy types the entire game, more enemy character types with more variation in their moves would be nice 2. More Moves and Weapons: it would be great to have more moves (like kicking) and of course the option to use other weapons (double sword, nun chuks, stars, bow etc) ideally every weapon would carry different sets of special moves. 3. Gameplay enhancements. Ability to save and resume progress across multiple devices. I played on my iphone during a train ride an wished I could resume my progress from my iPad layer that evening. Also support for multiplayer would be cool, kind of like double dragon on NES. 4. Kill Effects. I love splitting people in half and decapitating them but these two effects are pretty repetitive in this game, i'd love to see several more kill effects. Other people have mentioned making elements more interactive and something like chukking guys off bridges, burning them in the fire or getting them sliced on a guillatine would be fun.
Would pay for an expansion

This game is from the golden age of the app market. You pay one price and you get one great game. And this is one of the best. If this game was made today it would be casino style with a bunch of terrible spin and win games scattered throughout and a constant barrage of them trying to sell you coins or xp or something. Started this game in 2011 and I'm just replaying it now and realizing how great gaming could be on a phone if money hadn't ruined it.

Problem with the game

Why Cut the Rope when you can become a comic book samurai
by cmfnyc on 2010/10/21 21:48
To the developers, thank you. The first Samurai game was my favorite in the App Store. You topped it in all but one way with this offering. First, it looks gorgeous and plays so smoothly on my iPad. I can also play it on my phone, so I never will miss a moment to slice through ronin. Second, the AI has gotten a lot smarter. In the first one, it was possible to button mash your way through the normal level. Not anymore. You have to take advantage of all your samurai skills to advance. Third, it's one of a kind. The atmosphere in this game is second to none. You feel like you are living a comic book. As someone who likes samurai comics and movies, I cannot think of a better way to bring them to life in a game. My only wish is that I could have swipe controls back. I miss that from the first. For $2.99, this is an absolute steal. I feel like Daisuke should be coming to my door demanding justice and a few dollars more from my wallet. If he did show up, I'd probably pay!
Vast improvement over Samurai HD.
by mightywong on 2010/11/02 14:14
Madfinger's really done some good work in making the game play much more engaging and usable in Samurai 2. The graphics are also much improved and the game is a bit longer than the first one. That said, the game is still a bit short. I beat it in about 2 hours on Easy. And, speaking of Easy mode, it's not really very easy. It really makes you learn how to use your combos, dodge attacks, and watch bad guys for timing. It's tough to get through it. The storyline also leaves something to be desired and connecting the story to what you're doing in the game would be nice. Right now it's just a lot of walking down a path and killing bad guys, walking down another path and doing the same. It would be nice to have some alternate things to do that helped advance the story. But I really did enjoy the app. It's a great idea and the graphics are really enjoyable on both my iPad and iPhone. And thanks for releasing this as a Plus app! Many thanks!
Love it. A few suggestions.
by T237 on 2010/12/05 21:26
Love this game. I play it all the time. Really gives you the Samurai feel. Learning combinations gives you room to grow and find new fun ways to shred enemies. Play is mostly excellent. A couple suggestions to make it more enjoyable. 1. Character sometimes gets stuck for some reason. He ends up floating off the floor and walking in place. There is nothing you can do to free yourself from this unless there is an enemy around to hit you and knock you out of it. Sometimes you just have to end the game. Please find a way to fix this. 2. I've noticed some time shifting when Slo Mo starts. Actions of certain characters speed up in compared to normal. I.E. Archers load and fire quicker in comparison, which can be frustrating if you have a sense of how long that takes in normal time. 3. As mentioned elsewhere characters could be varied a bit more. And in the land of the dead they could have been... well ... dead. Just a thought. Anticipating some fun characters for the next version. 4. In action sequences with many character spinning and slashing. Reaction time of Samurai slows a bit on my iPhone 4. Might be pushing the envelope there. 5. Lastly, the dialogue in the comic strip and other game texts could use a proof read and rewrite by an English editor. Wouldn't take to long. Some of it is awkward. Thats it! Thanks for the great game!
2 Words "T-h-e SH#T!"
by GuyLanden on 2010/12/04 03:40
This Game is the Sh#t, the cell-shaded graphics are so vivid thier eye popping. The gameplay is smooth and fluid. Controls are simple and impressively responsive. Im not sure what kind of engine these graphics are running but i hane yet to see any lag or stalling surprising since the backgrounds are so animated and characters boby motion are so complex, although it quickly drains your battary. Combat and level design do become stale and repiditive a hour or 2 in. But the horrendis slow motion instant death sequenes keep it exciting. I would like to see more violent/gory ways to kill enemies by using the game enviroment to advantage for example throwing enemies into the gaint moveing gear wheels in the background. Maybe add DLC's like new weapons, outfits, more chapters. BOTTOM LINE worth paying $5.99 let alone $2.99 wich is a steal how is this not the app of the year?
Great game
by Bklynsbabyboy on 2010/11/02 12:27
The graphics are awesome. The game play i's really smooth. I haven't gotten through the story but so fa it looks like it will be good. But I have one very big issue. Defense. The main character has only offensive moves. I thought the best offense was defense? It makes the game hard and unenjoyable at times. Luckily I love a challenge. But I hope for an update adding a block button or something. Also the games seems to have a slow reaction. I'm used to playing games where I have to press buttons fast to fight. (like tekken back when we only had colors for buttons) but I noticed when I press buttons he don't keep up and he'll attack a few times after I stopped pressing buttons. I guess it's the combos? Idk but it feels weird at times.
Great game!
by Delathen on 2010/11/15 06:00
Truly a great game. Looks about as good as the iPod touch is probably capable of. For those of you complaining about the game not running on your version 3.xx systems: you may need to upgrade. I'm running version 4.1 and have yet to experience a single crash. I do have to admit that the first game"s controls felt more natural, but the sequel's are noticeable easier to use. I would love, and indeed challenge the developers to find a way to implement both systems into the third installment (you did leave or wide open!) The difficulty feels just right: extremely challenging without being impossible. I haven't died so many times to a final boss since Halo 2! Sadly, it seems that in rolling out improved (okay, updated) gameplay, the story telling really suffered. The fist game wasn't an academy award winning script, but it just felt like it had more depth to it than this time around. All in all, great job! I would love to see more from you guys!
Domo Arigato Samurai II, Visually Stunning!!
by Brendan V.B. on 2010/10/21 05:39
Awesome...Very close to a 5-star game!! The good: Visually Excellent game play, d-pad controls are responsive, visual effects really draw you into the story. I absolutely appreciate the matrix-like slowmo finish combos when you go in for the head decapitation or complete body slice. The sound effects are of great quality. The Bad: Some things that I have found glitchy or need improvement from here. I think the combo system is decent but not as responsive as I would like it to be... when I want to do a 3 key combo it does not always register. Having only played though the first chapter and then one section afterward I found a glitch at two places thus far. At the end of the first chapter the screen went blank and froze there not moving onto the next chapter. And then at the start of the second chapter where the folded up bridge has a action lever to pull I had killed off an enemy right by the lever and the hero froze in place, unable to move and the action button was unresponsive. Otherwise this is an excellent sequel gave and am proud to have this at the top of my list for favorite game on the iPad! Just fix a couple of issues and I could give this a 5-star ratig.
Who?
by Cranberry Juice on 2010/10/23 05:38
I tell you each time I get through the first level, the game freezes. And when you get killed it tells you to try harder. It makes you wonder who is writing these reviews? And by the way Samurai HD in my opinion from the front end to the final chapter was a real accomplishment. I thought the controls were brilliant. I've always said to go with your first instincts and don't let others sway your opinion. At least you should give us the option of swipe controls. I don't even think there's an options menu at all. I would only give five stars to games that don't crash. And the difficulty of the game seems intentional. It seems like the game doesn't want you to do well. I mean crashing when I do exceptional? Funny when it crashes it only saves before the hard part. As I said it seems intentional. Really frustrating after more than ten times of trying harder!
Very nice, but..
by Peturbed on 2010/10/21 18:59
I really loved the first game, particularly the graphics which somehow blend in this wonderful Japanese scenery with cherry blossoms and great line art with a gruesome orgy of body slicing fun. Visually, it's a treat. The second game is just as nice and in some respects the graphics are ever nicer and more innovative. But why oh why did the developer take away the option of the swipe controls? After all, the iPad is a finger based device, is it not. The controls may be fine for some, but I don't find them as direct as swiping. Sure, introduce new controls, but why not be really generous and give the user the option? This is a fine game, which loses some of it's gloss by taking away, rather than adding in choice. Five stars if you give us choice!
Simple, pretty, fun - but not 60 fps
by Sopants on 2010/11/02 08:33
A marked improvement on the original, in controls and gameplay variety. Still a verrrrry simple hack n slash, with a very few, and very simple, platform (not jumping, but environmentsl hazards) and puzzle elements thrown in to break up the pace. All in all, good, mindless fun that's nice to look at. Where i take issue, however, is the claim of 60fps, at least on my 64bg ipad. This is pretty much just not true. There are VERY brief glimpses of 60fps here and there, but about 95% of the game runs at a very solid 30. Really don't know where they got off making this claim, but the framerate may very well get there on a 4g iphone/ipod (haven't yet tried on my 3g ipod). 5 stars to up the framerate or remove the fps claim (game is gorgeous without it, it's kinda just the false advertising principal for me).
One complaint
by BloodyBriliant on 2010/11/17 22:51
The environment, gameplay, and RPG style level-up system are all fantastic, no doubt about it. Well worth the price. My only complaint is the unpredictable combo system. After awhile it's easy enough to get used to the command input timing, but after five chapters and unlocking almost every combo available I have yet to understand the seemingly random one-hit "finishers". These really make the fights worth playing, but when you realize they're almost impossible to perform on a whim it's a little disappointing. It could just be me, but I've read other reviews with this same problem. If these specials can be done on command, then I'd give the gameplay five stars.
Not bad
by mario____b on 2012/01/29 15:15
This game revolves largely around the sword fighting, which happens to be fairly repetitive (hit a button over and over) and often too difficult (WAY too many enemies to fight, too little health).
Took an innovative game and made it a boring button masher
by pist0lgripump on 2010/11/07 19:03
Alright the first game was awesome. It had an innovative control system that worked perfectly and it had awesome sequences. So why in the hell would you get rid of everything that made the first game so good? Now all this is is a boring button masher with almost no control over your character. In the first one you could find out what side your enemy was defending himself on and then attack his weakpoints but in this game all you can do is press X and O ten thousand times and hope it hits the person you want and kills him. This game is not fun in the slightest even the cool one hit kills are completely random and only exist the give the feeling of a game that needs skill to complete when in truth all you have to do with hit that X button and hope you dont get hit by anyone else. VERY BORING CRAPPY GAME.
Head and Shoulders Above the First
by Terramedic-J on 2011/01/07 18:31
Mad Finger has taken the concept they started with the first Samurai game and has presented this time around not only a great(er) looking but great playing iphone beat-em up. The environments while still largely just well designed corridors are more varied and interesting. Enemies telegraph their attacks better and the game is challenging without the feeling of being unfair. Also some of the best virtual controls I have used in an iPhone game. If you played the first Samurai and walked away disappointed like I did... this game will help you forget that it ever happened.
Samurai II is a brilliant hack 'n' slash
by MiggySZE on 2010/10/21 07:34
Like many others, I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of Samurai II--i refreshed the apps page numerous times while waiting for it to pop up in the store. After playing through the first three chapters, I am happy to announce that this game does not disappoint! The scenery that surrounds daisuke are beautiful, and the character models shine on the iPhone 4 and iPad. The storyline is engaging--nothing too fancy, but I love me some ronins battling it out in a war-ravaged Japan. I can't wait to see how this game unfolds. Great job Madfinger! Keep making beautiful games like this and I'll keep buying them.
By far the BEST GAME ON iPhone4 Yet
by ChessRonin on 2010/10/24 17:48
This game is what happens when you take a subject and motif which is pure awesome, distill it into high concentrate awesome, and then infuse it into an easy to use interface, add lots of polish and great graphics, and then sell the finished product for only $2.99. For a game that combines 3D combat, great storytelling, nicely rendered comicstrip-style storyboards, and a relatively advanced combat system, you would expect it to be lacking somewhere; not the case. This game is a joy to play, has great animation, and I don't imagine becoming bored of it anytime soon. BOTTOM LINE: AWESOME Game; 10 out of 10 stars.
Daisuke is BACK! Hai-ya
by PureSkill™© on 2010/11/25 23:11
The great ronin Daisuke is back for the very first time in an all new and EPIC journey. This game has it all! Beautiful 60 FPS retina graphics on supported devices, exhilarating on your toes gameplay, an advanced AI system, a dynamic camera, easy to use controls, a survival dojo for extra replayability, an original soundtrack, and more samurai sword fighting action than you can handle! This game is completely awesome! Game Center is included which provides online leaderboards and achievements! This is a game made for all gamers to play and enjoy!
Thank God it
by Masterwebing on 2010/11/21 08:53
I'm really glad that the developer made the game easier so that everyone can enjoy it instead of catering to the hardcore gamers who have nothing to do but asking for more challenging quest. The easy level is supposed to help new beginners to learn and enjoy it too. Come on, people. It's a game on a phone, not an Xbox or Playstation. Stop badgering the developers for more difficult setting unless you're willing to pay more for it. Geez!
Stupid Reviewers
by FatalSylence on 2010/10/26 15:42
Vlad12, you gave this game 1 star because it doesn't work on 3.1.3? Well, obviously! How about you update your firmware! Anyway, this game is amazing! The only problem I have with it, is it's REALLY, REALLY (And I mean REALLY) hard. Great graphics, story, and everything else, but suffice it to say, it is a difficult game. Please, people, do not post reviews that result from your own stupidity and selfishness. I don't go on here to read about how your phone can't update to iOS 4, I come to read about the game!
Flawless graphics......but thats about it.
by Ajooba1982 on 2011/05/06 00:31
Can't block. No side step. No jump. No throws. No different weapons. The whole game is basically tapping on different buttons to do combos. On the iPad, the camera is way too far. The main character is about 1 inch in size. Even with the focus kills, the camera is way too far. Whereas in hero of Sparta 2 the camera is too close, in here its the opposite. But I must say, the graphics are unbelievable. Can't wait for samurai 3. I just finished the game.
One of the best games on the App Store
by Colin O. on 2010/10/21 15:44
This game is beautiful. First, the productions values are very high. The graphic design is amazing. Not only does it look beautiful, but it runs smoothly. While the first Samurai game was great, the control scheme in this one makes it even better. What's more, they decided to make this a universal app, so that we can enjoy it on all of our devices. Kudos to Madfinger for doing this, rather than taking the greedy route that most other developers take when the release separate iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad apps. If I had one request for Madfinger, it would be to either implement some sort of multiplayer in a future update to this game, or to incorporate it in a future release. Bottom line: BUY this game without delay!
Great looking but repetitive
by elziard on 2010/12/03 03:11
Easy to praise, but the predictable AI through all levels makes it ho-hum. Fighting the same 5 AI over and over is disappointing. While the story is compelling, the action makes no sense in relation: why am I fighting the same enemies in the underworld where no living man has been before? A dragon that I can't fly? Why can't the big bosses vary instead of being mixed with the other 4 enemies in fight order? Too many detractions to recommend as a "must buy"

After I got rid of my PS2 I couldn't play my favorite game "Kengo" anymore. Now I have the same style of game on my iPod. Thank u guys. I have two other samurai games u guys made but I love this one the most. Guess I should give my thumbs a break

This game is from the golden age of the app market. You pay one price and you get one great game. And this is one of the best. If this game was made today it would be casino style with a bunch of terrible spin and win games scattered throughout and a constant barrage of them trying to sell you coins or xp or something. Started this game in 2011 and I'm just replaying it now and realizing how great gaming could be on a phone if money hadn't ruined it.

by Markperk123 on 2018/07/31 06:37
I am so impressed with the atmosphere.

The dialog is poorly-written. Is this on purpose? It's like a 3rd-grader wrote things. You can create a game but can't bother with correct grammar or punctuation? The controls are loose and unresponsive.

Not bad
by mario____b on 2012/01/29 15:15
This game revolves largely around the sword fighting, which happens to be fairly repetitive (hit a button over and over) and often too difficult (WAY too many enemies to fight, too little health).

Other people have mentioned making elements more interactive and something like chukking guys off bridges, burning them in the fire or getting them sliced on a guillatine would be fun.

by Big E Pede on 2011/07/24 21:44

I grew up in Japan, and it feels like home. Great combat!
by Markperk123 on 2018/07/31 06:37
I am so impressed with the atmosphere. Go get it! Enjoy👍🏻
They don't make them like this anymore
by Discofunktales on 2019/07/12 14:49
This game is from the golden age of the app market.

Geez!
