Newest version has bug that prevents selection of comfort+ seat for Platinum Medallion. It gives message to manage through “my trips” but that delivers same error message. Only option for upgrade is to call delta directly.

I am not a hi tech, hi flyer miles guy. I use smartphones because I have to, and fly on Delta whenever I can. For MY needs, I found this app very easy to check in, to find my seating, and to obtain my boarding pass. I cannot comment on the multitude of other things the app may be able to do. But sitting in South East Asia, concerned about making my flight back to the US, this application does what I need it to, and any app that does what one needs it to, clearly, concisely and correctly, deserve a 100% score from its user. Five Stars is 100% (Also, for those people who think ‘Well...I just don’t ‘give’ out five stars, you aren’t ‘giving’ anything. This isn’t about you! You are Rating a tool based on its performance.)

Unlimited Complimentary Upgrades

I was looking over the app today. Checking my status. I noticed in the app it states unlimited compliments upgrades. It just so happens that I have had status for 2 years now and have never gotten an upgrade complimentary. I’m guessing too many loyalty club members with status and not enough upgrade seats. What’s the point of loyalty? One free bag checked? They do this at the gate anyways when the flight is fully packed. Seriously rethinking my loyalty to delta on several wavelengths.

Design is sleek, intuitive and graphically appealing. It would be great if there were a feature to sign into sky miles with your email address instead of only username and #. Certain actions prompt an in app browser, if those acts could be incorporated into the app - it would get 5 stars.

Flight booked in Feb Delta canceled in May with no notice now stranded on a red eye and guess what delta send me and email asking me so check in on my original 2:43 flight spoked to supervisor Osha who offered no help and just said to me “whatever” when I explained how frustrating this $1400 purchase has been Bad experience with delta

After Some additional challenges with the new app, all the bugs have been worked out now. I’m able to do most of my things that I need to do with my flights on the app with maybe only 10% of the matter is do I need to address with a live agent. I would like to see them add the ability to book in certain specific economy classes, for example, Q, L, M, S, H, etc

The app and the desktop does not support the same features. I’ve called numerous times because there’s an issue with Secure Flight Data being synchronized with the app and the desktop sites. This causes the customer to have to call in to add KTN information and call in to check in for TSA PRE CHECK.

When my tickets printed at the airport kiosk, there was a paper asking for emergency contact info. And to give that paper to the delta person checking me in. When i gave the ticket attendant that paper, she crumpled it and threw it in the trash!!!

Easy to navigate, but it lacks the same functionality as some of its competitors (I.e. United). The flight tracker never loads, and on the numerous regional jets I fly each year this is a must have. Please fix this. Ideally match the layout of your IFE.

Ongoing bug problems

For over two years now I haven’t been able to book airfare on the app or the mobile site. I input all the passenger info then it prompts me to select seats/extras. When I push that button a bubble pops up telling me that they can’t complete the purchase. Now I find on the app that I can’t request upgrades. I’ve update the app, deleted and reinstalled it. I’ve also contacted them and they said they’re tech department doesn’t have the capability right now to fix the bug(!) and can’t offer anything more than that. I mean, c’mon. Hard to give an app more than 1 star when I can’t use it fir anything.
No International Check-in for Green Card Holders

Great app. The only thing letting Delta down here is a lack of ability for Green Card holders to check in for their return trip home. The app only asks for Passport info and can’t discern between, for example, a UK-issued passport but someone who is resident in the USA. Other airlines have this figured out. Come on Delta.

Putting the upcoming pass in the iOS wallet is brilliant, and the watch app companion is wonderful. Please do take the next step and invalidate any expired passes (check your competition for examples) so that it is obvious which passes are upcoming or used / expired.

This app constantly reverts to whatever flight information was cached in October 2017. Why can’t it cache the info from 10 minutes ago? Every time I open this app, I have to wait for it to refresh data. Sometimes that can take longer than expected due to connectivity. Regardless, the app should remember the data that it has previously already pulled. I’ve signed out and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled, and I’ve even signed in on an Android, same problem!

I love Delta; it’s the only airline I use. Most attendants on flights are helpful and very personable. I most often have a layover in Atlanta and unfortunately the attendants in the airport are often NOT helpful or rude or uninterested or all three. This is such a contrast but I’ve just accepted it’s taking the good with the bad. But I repeat - I love Delta.

I have traveled for work & pleasure over the past 7 years & have tried their competitors, usually because Delta didn’t serve that particular city *very rare situation* I’ve even gone as far as taking a trip with a lay over in order to avoid having to use another carrier! Worst service ever, delayed flt caused me to miss my connecting fly, Delta DID NOT take care of my (unplanned) overnight accommodations, airport hotels were booked by the time I landed and Delta left me stranded. I slept on the floor overnight at LAX!!!! They would not even give me access to the Sky Clubhouse so I could wait in comfort...worst flight experience of my life.

This is the first time I have sent in a complaint. I am a loyal Delta passenger for many years. I understand the challenges with airline service but this is too much for most of the passengers today. Today, the TSA lines are too long and go back and forth thru the entire Ticketing Hall! Why can’t Delta and the other airlines better coordinate the high volume of passengers needing inspections at MSP? (We had this problem last year during spring break) I thought it was addressed? I made my reservation for this flight well over a month ago. Surely someone has the passenger load information for each day that needs to go to TSA for proper staffing. If money is the issue then raise the fee. If this continues, people just transferring here will avoid MSP and probably pick a competitor. This is just poor customer service whether it’s the airlines, TSA or the MAC. Also, all of those constant and loud paging messages (forgot items, final boarding calls, etc) that go over a speaker system throughout the entire terminal is very annoying. Perhaps MSP could join Asian and European airports by installing electronic paging boards throughout the terminal. Or, change the fine print language on a ticket that notifies passengers it’s their responsibility to know when and where to find their gate. By the way, with all the to/from flights from Asia, why isn’t there any signage translations in Mandarin, Japanese and Korean? This airport is not very friendly. They do English for us in signage, menus, etc. How can a global airline be so insensitive? Thanks for listening. James Fredkove

This is a great app, let’s you book and have access to your flight tickets right there. Only issue I have is on Apple Watch, every time you open the app on the watch you got to open the app on the iPhone. Like having it on the watch is to not go through your pockets and getting your phone out. It should be there instantly. Other than that I would give it 5 stars if it gets fixed.

App deleted all my info , changed all my name on my account to a previous one that I had updated months ago and just recently won’t let me add bags to check in. It’s frustrating when I’m trying to check in and I have to re check in at the airport to update the checked in bags I needed.

Love the convenience of the app, but I’m never able to pay for my checked bags via the app. I end up having to either go to the website to do it or wait until I get to the airport. So that makes it inconvenient.

I enjoy Delta flights! Nice leather seats and good snacks! However, I was quite frustrated that checking our baggage took 39 minutes! It seems that the people in line had issues with tickets and should have been in another line!only one person checking for a long line! Going through security was a breeze compared to getting luggage checked! United’s kiosk prints out luggage tag and we put it on! Dropping off bags is so fast!

Thaw app could provide more information about each step. For example it took me about five tries to figure out how to deal with confirming passport information. Only by luck did I click on the persons name which took me to a page that had the correct passport info. Instead of finding “confirm”, it tells you to “add”. Add what? To what? Stupid. Only as a last resort did I hit “add” which took me to the next person to repeat the drill. You are leaving to the customer how to roll through your app. Waists a lot of time for both the customer and the Airline, and costs the airline money. Think of the savings if the app were more intuitive and had good directions. Loyal, but slightly frustrated customer👍
Flight to Ireland turned back

We flew from CLE to JFK on 6/1/19. Our flight fromJFK to Shannon had a bit of delay but we boarded and said we would make up time. Over Newfoundland (about 2.5 hours of a 6.5 hr flight) the pilot came on and said we were turning around that they did not want to fly the plan over open waters. We landed back at JFK around 3am. The airlines supplied us with pillows, blankets, toiletries and snacks. They got a flight out next day. They were wonderful.
Maintenance trouble

Luckily captain decided to test engine which had not been checked after maintenance the night before. Problem still had to be fixed and mechanics were not on duty for our early flight. Part had to be ordered after mechanics came on duty 1.5 hr later. On plus side we were rerouted and only arrived 3.5 hrs later. But most of that time spent on cramped flights.

Garbage app and garbage servers. App logged me out as soon as I got to TSA counter and then did not let me log back in. Kept in saying failed log in. I triple checked my credentials. Ended up missing my flight because of this disaster of an app because TSA made me get back in the beginning of the line after I got a printed boarding pass from counter agent

I am loyal to very few large companies on this planet. My loyalty often winds up local whenever possible. However, with Delta, I feel as proud to be a loyalist as I do with a local business. They treat me right. When you earn status, IT MEANS SOMETHING! I capitalize that because with another major airline, my status I earned that was similar when I lived elsewhere and flew them a lot did nothing for me in comparison. I could go on and on about why I love Delta, but I’ll just end with the fact that they really try. They’ve improved. They’re staff is overwhelmingly good, and for a huge business like this, that is not easy. I’m a Delta loyalist for the rest of my days. The app works seamlessly by the way. I am supposed to mention that huh? Truly perfect app that will tell me right when my bags are loaded on the plane, at baggage claim, the whole 9’yards. Thanks Delta for being a good company. I hope this review makes someone happy, because I run a business and can’t even express the amount of people in your employ that have impressed and delighted me in my travels. Cheers! In fairness, there are many things this app does right - however, the plethora of things that are broken and that have been for years now merits a strongly worded inditement. The app consistently crashes with airport WiFi. Delta blames this on the local airport’s WIfI- but for a Multi-year Diamond Medallion with multiple million miles who sees hundreds of airports each year - it can’t always be the airports wifi - sorry Delta, that Dog don’t hunt! Also, the app crashes consistently (usually while I’m in the TSA line). For me, it crashed 1/2 the time I tried to use it in the last year (I wrote it down each time it crashed). This is unacceptable! You can change the amount of information stored on each device vs what has to be downloaded (and which is the likely cause of these crashes). For example, once my boarding pass has been downloaded - why does it need to be redone loaded every time I log on?? A simple byte of info indicating a change vs no change could flag it and give me the option of downloading an updated boarding pass or not - this would prevent it from crashing at the most in-opportune time (at the TSA line). Yes - I can bypass by taking a screenshot or saving it to my wallet - but most of the time I am running. If I’ve already downloaded my boarding pass - don’t make me log on and connect to get it again! I know you can fix this. Please do!!

My bag was never put on my first flight from JFK to MSP. When I arrived at Fargo Hector, my bag never arrived. Delta rep confirmed multiple times that my bag would be on the next flight to Fargo, and verified I had nothing else I had to do. The next day I returned to the airport to talk with another Delta rep because my app hadn’t said anything about my bag. The Rep said I should have filed a claim for the bag, and the Delta rep from the night before should have told me to do that.. he didn’t. I was then told my bag would be on the next flight to Fargo. I received a notification that my bag was at the carousel at the Minneapolis airport at baggage claim.... why the hell would it be at baggage claim at MSP when I was in Fargo. I was on the phone with customer service for over an hour trying to figure out why my bag wasn’t registered correctly and why it wasn’t on its way to Fargo, again.. fast forward a couple hours - I got a notification from the app that my bag was getting on a flight and would arrive at 4:50. When I got there, the flight was delayed. I waited another 25 min, and then came to realize that my bag was not on that flight either. My app updated to say that my bag was going on another flight and wouldn’t arrive until 8:30 pm.. something always happens when I fly with Delta. Wouldn’t recommend flying with them, especially when their customer service can’t do anything about the issue.
Many missing options

One of the many missing options is the opportunity to volunteer when a flight is overbooked. I just checked in for an overbooked flight and was never directed to the volunteer screen. If I had used the airport kiosk, I could have volunteered. True, volunteering does not guarantee being chosen, but at least I would have had the opportunity to try. I’ve had this same problem when the app has automatically checked me in and never allowed me the option of volunteering for overbooked flights. I am seriously considering deleting this app. Today: After neither the app nor the website would not let me volunteer, I checked in for this morning’s flight at the airport kiosk and easily accessed the volunteer screen. Unfortunately, I figured that I did not need the paper boarding pass because it would be on my phone. This app made me check in again to view the boarding passes and, once again, did not provide the volunteer screen. Fortunately, the gate agent was extremely helpful and added my name to the list at the price I wanted. The big problem is that if two people volunteer at the same price, one of the deciding factors is who volunteered first. It would be wonderful if the app let me volunteer when I check in 24 hours in advance then let me check the status whenever I want to see if the list has begun and add my name — if there was no list yet at check in.

I can’t say it enough times how much I enjoy flying Delta. I have had to fly a lot for work and Delta is Leaps and bounds above the other airlines. Where they stand out the most is customer service! I only wish that when there happens to be a cheaper flight on another airline that Delta could match that price so that I wouldn’t be forced to fly those other airlines. My company requires I choose the cheapest option. I can usually explain it ends up cheaper on Delta due to my free checked luggage but once in a while I still have to fly another airline when I would much rather fly Delta! Keep up the good work Delta! Also, if I could recognize and individual employee then Kerry in Billings, MT deserves some real recognition. It is very hard to leave home every week and she is the nicest, friendliest Gate agent. She is often times training new staff and is very patient with them. She really is top notch and her warm smile makes leaving home a little less painful. Thank you Kerry!

Is Delta so insecure about needing a review that I need to get a notification every 5 minutes until I do so? Ok well then here is the review... I am very unhappy about the pervasive self-serving attitude of Delta and many of its employees. This is especially true at ECP Florida beaches International Airport. My father died and my son and wife were unable to make the funeral service the next day in Minneapolis because Delta cancelled their flight due to “mechanical” problems. Do you think that there would be some empathy or compassion expressed by Delta representatives. When my wife tried to cancel the ticket because Delta said they had no way of getting there on time they said the only way they would refund the ticket would be if I provided a death certificate. Ok, they created the problem and then they want me to go through hoops so I can fulfill their bureaucratic requirement designed to hang onto those precious dollars. Greedy, cold, indifferent and uncaring. That is really messed up and shows how much Delta cares about you as a customer. Pathetic. My family did miss my Dad’s funeral... thanks for the great service and empathy Delta! Oh by the way the “bereavement” fares offered by Delta are actually higher priced than the daily fares offered by Expedia and others.

I travel a lot and I’m not loyal to any airline, money talks. With this in mind, I’ve traveled domestic and international with many airlines and have used, or attempted to use, all of their apps. Interoperability with Delta website. If you purchased your tickets via website, good news! The app will interface seamlessly with website purchases. Not all airline apps do this. Ease of use. Once logged in to the app, you have the option of staying logged in between sessions which is fantastic when you are traveling. This makes it easy to access your digital boarding pass. I made my first trip with just a carry on bag and an e-ticket by checking in on the app. This eliminated the trip to the kiosk or ticket counter. The entire time I was in the terminal, I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. I showed the e-ticket to security and the gate agent; that’s it!! Updates. There were many reminders as appropriate. This include: Check in 24 hrs prior Gate information Departure and arrival updates Boarding advisories Luggage advisories The app has a lot of great features, some found in other airline apps, some not. Some of these features include: Purchase tickets Update personal information needed to fly and TSA Flight tracking Terminal maps with GPS location to navigate the terminal Show boarding pass without logging into smartphone Skymile data ...and more. This is a must have app to fly in today’s electronic world.

Weeks after the death of my husband and having made it through Christmas, I thought I was able to stumble through all the “firsts”. New Year’s Eve morning I realized I could not do New Year’s Eve alone and ER doctor daughter working, other daughter back in Vegas, friends all with plans. Spontaneously, I called a Delta agent and cried and explained why I could not stay alone (plus 15 degree below windchill in MI). I was not as strong as I thought and needed to get away. She took so much time and helped me plan an immediate trip to FL, with such good suggestions and I decided on Ft Lauderdale. I stayed at a beautiful hotel right on the ocean in 78 degrees and sun! On boarding I began crying and a flight attendant paid special attention and even wrote me a beautiful supportive note on a Delta napkin that I still have. There’s even more but this is getting too long! I have told everyone I can about Delta with a Heart! ❤️

Very inefficient when trying to change an existing reservation. There are 2 ‘go back’ arrows you press the wrong one, you have to start your whole. So if you click on the flight you potentially may change to, it will calculate the change fee and price difference, and new total. If you want to compare a price with a different Day, you have to start the search all over again. It just doesn’t make sense. People these day need to be able to make changes themselves and see their options. This app makes it very difficult to do that. Then if you call the phone center. They are even more useless. It seems their computers are really old, and their price quotes are always like $3000 more than the prices I found. Their computers automatically just pick the most expensive flight to quote to customers. Then if you tell them about the flight you found. It takes them like 30 minutes to be able to pull it up themselves. It is infuriating. I am happy that eventually Delta wants to phase out all of the customer service people and replace them with an AI program. So, I suppose it doesn’t make sense for them to update them computer programs they are working with.

The app is great. Well, most of the time. I should have known better. The first leg of my flight was delayed and, when the plane landed, I had 20 minutes to deplane and catch the next flight. No problem. The app said it was the next gate over in the same terminal. Whew! So, plenty of time to go to the bathroom, right? Double checked the app and now it says I’m supposed to go to the next terminal. Ugh. Down the stairs, just missed the train, ran to the next gate. The screen at the gate shows the next plane to my destination leaves in 90 minutes. What??!? Raced around to find a departure screen and lo and behold, my flight really was leaving where I just deplaned. Ran back to the previous terminal. If you’re tracking with me you’re thinking what I’m hoping won’t be true. The gate is now shut, the ramp pulled away and the plane sitting there just like it was mocking me. So, this is the last time I EVER rely on the app. Why the two databases aren’t synced is a mystery. You would think it would be reliable but I hope someone else benefits from my learned lesson. DO NOT RELY on the app.
Use it for managing booked flights, but limited options when booking

Definitely worth downloading, as it provides all tools for managing your booked flights. I would recommend to use browser when booking though, especially when your dates are flexible and you want to see prices for +/- several days. Sometimes leaving or coming back just a day earlier or later results in drastic difference in price. The browser allows to select “flexible dates” and provides the grid view with prices, which gives you a good idea about the various flight costs during a particular time period. At the time is this writing there is no such option in the app. Only one departure and arrival date can be chosen at a time; to see prices for various dates one has to enter them manually for every flight price check, which takes forever and doesn’t provide the overall picture at a glance, like booking via browser does.

I have been a long time DL Customer for several years, approaching 3M miles. Over all my experience has been very positive. Great Airline, Great People, Great Customer Service. One of my negative impressions are the changes that DL made to their FF Program. Hard for me to completely understand when a lower level FF Customer who purchases a slightly higher or higher coach class ticket receives priority over a Diamond Flyer. As a Corporate Flyer we are asked to book our flights at least 14 days out, which usually results in a lower coach fare compared to a fare that was booked “late”. I have had on several occasions received a personal apology from a flight attendant. One time the flight attendant wrote me a personal note apologizing that I did not receive at least a DL comfort seat. One flight attendant showed me all of the Silver, Golds and Platinum’s that were seating in DL Comfort or 1st Class. DL is rewarding fare not loyalty. Just my impressions and experience this year.

This is the best airline for a single handicap person to use! There’s always a wheelchair for me within a few minutes. The persons who push me to my gate are extremely courteous and will always stop at the restroom or store so I can get water! They are the best! My ONLY complaint last year was the fact that they wheeled me from check-in up to the concourse at Detroit Metro and dropped me off with 25 others in wheelchairs and there we sat. After over half an hour I got up to the counter and informed them that my flight would be boarding in half an hour and I STILL needed to go through security! They did jump into action as there were 3 in wheelchairs on my flight back to Ft Myers, Fl. I was rushed through security and got to my gate as they were boarding. No one ever told us WHY we were dumped together in a holding area and just sat there. Otherwise, my flight was great!

Where do I start. 125p at Springield-Branson flight delayed till 515p, plane arrives to gate at 450p. Delta rebooked our flight through the automated system till 0600 next morning. No phone call, nothing. Went to the desk at the gate to ask what happened and she said she couldn’t help me, my flight was cancelled. I told her we had boarding passes with seat assignments, her reply was that they were not valid any longer. She then proceeded to give our seats to customers waiting for seats. I finally had to get aggressive and tell them they needed to get our luggage off the plane if we were not going to be on that flight. I asked where were we going to stay the night and she just shrugged her shoulders. We had to get very loud for them to finally get someone to help us. Just gave us hotel numbers to call. Called delta to try and get another flight out to Atlanta(because one was leaving at 655p). Agent on the phone booked tomorrow at 650p thinking he was booking us for a 650p tonight. Thankful Holiday Inn took us in and gave us a distressed rate and cared when Delta and Springfield Airport could care less.
An amazing app but a critical missing feature for Watch

Delta has all around the best airline app out there. Extremely useful from booking to boarding. I once booked a ticket in the app using Apple Pay and it took less than a minute total. Truly seamless and with an intuitive design. But there’s just one thing I can’t wrap my head around: the poor Apple Watch app bundled with the iPhone app. While Delta’s app for iPhone is far superior to its competitors, the Watch app lags behind. American, JetBlue, and United all offer a useful watch app that includes a Watch face complication for quick viewing of up to date information on seat, gate, and boarding time just by raising your wrist. Delta’s Watch app lacks this, and even loading the watch app itself (not the missing complication) provides a clunky experience that rarely loads and lacks useful information.

I was flying from Rochester, MN, to Boston through Atlanta the Saturday after Thanksgiving. As my plane was taxiing to the gate in Atlanta, the app notified me that my connecting flight had been delayed. I was given the option of changing my itinerary at no extra charge and was given several alternatives. I chose to switch although I would now have another extra stop. I was seated in the center seat on both new flights but the seats were comfortable. By using the track my baggage feature, I was learned that my bag was coming later on the original flight. In the end I arrived in Boston only eight minutes after my original scheduled time. Because I knew my bag was not with me, I was able to go directly to the baggage service counter and have my bag delivered to my home. It arrived just as I was getting up the following morning. Great app!! Good job, Delta!!
Introduce something like MilePlay + save flights

The Delta app is far and away the best and most beautiful airline app I’ve used. I especially LOVE the ability to swap between classes when booking (such that I can fly first outbound and Comfort+ inbound) - SO convenient. That said, I really wish Delta would introduce something like United’s MilePlay, where every month or so you get a new challenge that earns you miles + encourages you to travel with the airline. I’m always looking for a reason to go somewhere and MilePlay definitely gets me to spend. Another thing that would be AMAZING is the ability to save/monitor flights! I like to be able to save a flight and then be notified when the price has changed. It also helps to keep track of flights that I should be buying so I don’t forget. Some things to think about!!

I have been flying on other airlines and used their app all the times. While using the Delta’s app, I didn’t felt good about these. I hope all unfamiliar people find it same. Because apps are meant to be used by novice people, but Im myself a Mobile Application Developer, I found it very hard or not good. These are my suggestions: 1. The dark color theme is good while traveling; but Me personally control the brightness of my mobile screen - all the time. Because you care so much about the battery life while traveling and having very Dark text and colors, frequently I had to brighten up my screen. But if we will have some light theme, even if I put low brightness-it will be visible. I know people, this sounds what! But when you are travelled long and tou don’t have charge on your phone. Then you will understand why. 2. I couldn’t even find Entertainment option in the App!! What! When you connect to wifi is that a only place to find entertainment option? I navigated through the app to find that Button 🤣 but still couldn’t find it. 3. I tried to write these as feedback but I ended up writing them as review. I never wrote any reviews on app store. But I throught I should write to make it more better for Everybody like me. 4. Added the boarding passes on Wallet. But if seats changed, wallet still shows the last seat. Its not updating. It was very confusing. Ended up asking at the gate what is my seat? Hope this gets some serious attention.

I called tonight asking about my travel in the morning. I am a sky miles member and hold status in the medallion program as well. I was curious as to why my automatic upgrade was not available for myself and my amazing better half that leaves for a trip that I gifted to him in the morning. The rep wasn’t so helpful, so I asked for the supervisor. He explained why and immediately had the solution. This trip I gifted my love is very important to me. A very dear friend that he misses terribly is there and they recently were able to reconnect. My love and I have been together for 17 years. I am so thankful to the person I spoke to tonight that was able to get us into delta comfort and had a solution. I always receive such wonderful service with Delta. Thank you for again making my experience pleasurable.

It is frustrating that Delta has not taken care of all possible scenarios in the design of this app. I used the app recently while on a flight and as network was not available, the app forced me to the login screen and cleared the user ID and password fields. Subsequent logins require you to remember the password which is really frustrating as the password policies are not standard as well . ( they don't allow special characters in the password). Further there is no Touch ID integration enabled which is utterly surprising . Finding the options to reset the password was a pain. It took a while for me to figure out that I need to click on "login help" as I was looking for a "Forgot Password "option. I can help with further inputs if needed to fix this and many more frustrating issues .
Checks you in without asking when you launch the app

This is a very good app but it automatically checks you in as early as the day before if you open the app (without asking). For me that is always a bad idea. I hope they change this or make it a configurable setting. I never check in early because the nature of my business forces me change flights at the last minute sometimes. Today I desperately needed to change my flight but delta wouldn’t let me (on line or in the app) because I had already inadvertently “checked in” yesterday when I looked at the app just wanting to check my departing flight time. Couple that with a 2 hour wait to talk to someone at delta to see if I could get a later flight forced me to take my original flight and leave my customer when I really needed to stay a few more hours. I really can’t see how it benefits me to “check in” for a flight the day before.

Overall this app is very good; however, I think there is one major flaw when booking flights. After logging into the app and finding flights to book, the next step is to fill out all my personal information, including my skymiles number — even though I am logged into my app and you have all that information. This means I have to go back out to the home screen, copy my number, and go back through booking. On my last trip I planned to add the number later and forgot, so I had to request acknowledgment of those miles later through the website and wait for approval. It would be very helpful to link the traveler information screen with personal account information, similar to how the website works. Then I would give this app 5 stars!
Doesn't update flight info (useless) + crashes

App crashed five minutes before boarding time and then we had to wait for everyone to get printed boarding passes at the gate. ~~~ My flight was delayed four hours (still hasn't boarded) and the gate has changed several times. The app is STILL displaying the original gate; NONE of the text alerts have included gate info and there was no announcement about the final change...Not to mention that the gate we are now using isn't displaying my flight and we have a new flight #. Why change the flight number? But then NOT update it on the app, or the text alerts? I don't see the point of the app if the information doesn't update in real-time. This makes an already stressful situation more frustrating.

I appreciate the new patent check-in feature, but a few bugs and workflow issues were there. Checking in to Air France I had to re-enter my passport information. Small but annoying because you have it. A million times you have it. Plus I couldn’t add baggage. Maybe that’s on purpose, but then tell me. The last thing was I couldn’t add the boarding passes to my wallet. And one last gripe is that I saw people on Reddit saying the C+ upgrade option had the “only if seat preference available” option, but I couldn’t find it. Maybe because I’m currently international, but I would really like that option. I hate having to try and go back and claim an aisle in economy when I get “upgraded” to a center seat. Generally I like the application. Makes traveling so much easier; however these few little quirks will keep it at a 4 for now.
Another change for the worse

This used to be a great app, but recent changes have really hurt it. The today screen is useless, going there automatically when you want to go to another trip. Especially annoying when you just closed that trip a minute ago. The app looses your boarding pass about every third trip (thankful for passbook) and blanks it out in the boarding queue leading to a long re login while those in line behind you look at you like you're an idiot for not having a boarding pass. I just downloaded the latest version and Delta has made it even worse. It is pretending to constantly update your seat assignment even when there is no change. But more annoying is the elimination of multi user accounts meaning you have to enter the full account number every time you swap between you and your wife's account. Don't update the app. This one is a bad one.

I have been flying Delta regularly for years. I know I will always have a good trip, even if I have four reroutes due to weather. Staff manage to maintain composure when I am sure they should blow up. I know that not everyone is perfect and there are those few people who are grumpy or agitated- but I figure I have days I am not as nice as I want to be. I try to give the cranky staff member a pass-and remember they have lives that exist outside of their jobs. I realize it could be a partner or spouse is sick but that staff person has to work. Maybe it was a rough day dealing with some other major issue. When I can’t let go of the staff members attitude towards me or others I write a complaint and go back to enjoying my trip. Delta is great in so many ways for me. Thank you!

I fly to Birmingham and Pensacola frequently now to visit my children one of whom is in the military. I have always flown Delta but recently have encountered problems that is making me consider switching airlines. 1) you recently canceled the nonstop flight out of Birmingham to LaGuardia Airport at 6 AM which caused the rest of the day November 5 to be overbooked. If someone had looked at the college football calendar they would have noticed it's a huge SEC game of Alabama versus LSU. 2) in addition my flight home on the Friday after Thanksgiving from Pensacola was canceled at 6:30 PM and now I get to less hours with my son who is in the military because I have to fly home at 4:30 PM 3) stop at nickel and diming me for baggage fees and seats. If I buy a seat on your airline I should get a seat assignment this is not south west

In booking the bereavement tickets to my home for the passing of my grandmother, I dealt with an agent that was not similar to the kind of customer service I’m used to experiencing from Delta. I used to be a heavy traveler for work, and always made it a point to fly Delta. Almost every single one of the persons I came across was very accommodating and polite. The agent who booked my flights not only laughed at me when booking the flights, scoffed at my comment that I was used to better customer service from Delta, but made remarks when discussing my flight arrangements. I’m normally a fairly calloused person, but experiencing the death of my grandmother, whom I was close to was painful. This gentleman made the experience worse. My flights were outstanding as normal with Delta. One agent in Atlanta even helped my sister out by putting her in a seat that was open, since she was bringing a lap child. That was the type of customer service we’re used to. Thank you for your tome.

I have flown several other airlines going to and from Michigan. The last two times there was either a snow storm or hurricane. The first time I was unable to get in touch with the airlines (not Delta) for two days and finally booked a flight home on Delta. This time, I booked Delta round trip. Hurricane came and I had to reschedule my flight home. I called Delta and it only took maybe ten minutes for them to change my flight with no extra fees. The last time I was on a different airline and had to actually pay for a whole new flight home on Delta bc could not get flight on the airlines I flew in on. From now on, Delta is my preferred airlines. The Delta App is wonderful. I hit button to check in and it’s done! Always fly Delta!
Very disappointing

I Purchased a business class ticket from Jacksonville Florida to Buenos Aires Argentina round-trip. In general I was very disappointed with the leg going from Jacksonville to Atlanta Did general music and entertainment system did not work and all I got was just a shrug of the shoulders and that’s it the music didn’t work and I was flying first class in the second leg the food was pretty bad and again the entertainment system was very very poor in general the comfort of the Business class seat was of a lower level than the business class seat in American Airlines. Just not a very pleasant experience. Furthermore I thought it was very very irritating that you have a chance to review the flight only one day or a few hours after you finish your trip. That is ridiculous in the very few hours that they give you you’re just going to sleep and recovering fromThe long trip and then when you go to reviewing it tells you that it’s just too late you cannot review it. That is Utterly ridiculous.

I am a software salesman and now, 64 years old. I have been flying Delta since before there were any frequent flyer programs. 44 countries and over 150 cities. I have flown every major airline in the United States and many that are no longer in existence. Airplanes can be the same or similar, but it is Delta’s people that make the difference. I love what I do and I love to travel. I have lived in several U.S. states, São Paulo, Brazil and Tokyo, Japan and Delta has been my travel partner every step of the way. Today, I am flying Delta from Phoenix to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and back home, but always with Delta. No company is perfect, but since 1979, Delta has been an important, reliable and friendly choice for all my air travel. Working on 5 million!
First Class service

I always remember seeing that curtain telling me “This isn’t for you, stay out!” When I couldn’t afford first class. Now I can and what do I find but coach class passengers lined up to use the toilet in first class, and even worse, leaning on my shoulder, some of them coughing on me as I’m trying to relax. And the free booze? Put a lid on it. Our last flight from ATL to PHX was non-stop boozing for the two loud-mouthed, obnoxious boobs in the row to our front. And the booze kept coming. When it came to deplane, I had to help the one drunk who had his bag aboard our row get his bag down. It’s disgusting. I drink but two of anything is my limit. Someone has to act responsibly and I guess that choice can’t be left to some people. Service in first class is first class though.
Informative, intuitive, easy to use

Frequent business traveler… I rediscovered Delta about a year and a half ago after having status on two other airlines for 10+ years… Very impressed. The app typically seems to know what’s going on before the gate agents do. During a recent weather storm the app alerted me and put me on a re-routed flight within 60 seconds and 2-3 traps. I recently chose a Delta flight with a layover instead of a same cost direct flight, just because I wanted a Delta flight… mostly because I wanted the miles, but it is interesting to me (and a little bit bizarre) is to think I’d be more comfortable on a Delta flight with a layover then another flight direct... I never thought I would make that choice!
Worse than other airline apps

I also use JetBlue, Finnair, British Airways, and several others and they are all more logical and easier to use than this app. Even the United app, which is no picnic, is better. Problems: Every time I want to look up something or change something on a flight I have to ‘find’ it by giving the confirmation number or other identifier. If I have two different flights booked I can only deal with one of them and if I want to even look at information for the other one I have to give the confirmation number. The moving screen advertising upgrades is annoying. There appears to be no way to see all my flights at the same time. The whole app seems very counter-intuitive. I found it difficult and time consuming to figure out where information was and how I could, for example, change seats. I surprised that most people rated this app so highly. Unless you’re all shills.

I have the Fly Delta app. Password not working, no warning that 3? 4? Wrong answers equal disabling my account. That is the message my phone showed me. The security questions are not ones I have or would or could ever have an answer for. While I am struggling with all of this(including poor cell service, which has nothing to do with you Delta, but adds up to the overall experience) I have to stop in the middle of checking in, fingers crossed her hoping it will go through with the WIFI I have available, to “Rate and Review “ my experience! I don’t know how my experience is yet!! I have not yet finished experiencing my experience! I apologize to whomever has to wade through this novel length comment. I am not trying to make anyone’s job more difficult or stressful. Perhaps a suggestion can be sent up the chain of command, think about actual user experience, before asking questions you might not like the answers to. Thank you for your consideration. M.L. Gribbin

I enjoyed everything about the flight. While some hosts and hostesses were phenomenal, two younger hosts seemed like they could work on their people skills in handling difficult issues e.g. one lady stuck her foot in the aisle and while this was not good, he could have spoken to her more politely. I have been on Southwest and still feel like they still beat Delta in this regard. The second host when I asked for lots of cream in my tea just poured what he felt without honoring that I wanted more cream in my tea. One of the hosts was phenomenal as space ran out and people put their luggage in the overhead cabin and the customers were about to blame each other When he stepped in and resolved the conflict and made each feel like they were appreciated. This good host was the older black man.
Cancelled flight

Our flight out of Appleton was cancelled 12 hours before take off. The same flight 40 miles away still went out, but was full. And the best closet was 2 hours away. There was no good reason for the flight cancellation. They tried to rebook our flight a day later on a terrible itinerary that would’ve taken 12 hours to arrive when 4 hours was all that was needed. We opted to travel last minute 2 hours, get a hotel and fly nearly the same schedule as out originally cancelled flight out if Appleton. It cost us a hotel room, gas, parking bit we arrived to vacation on our planned day rather than a day late. There was no reason for out cancelled flight. I would like a reimbursement at least for the flight that we ended up taking that was a cheaper flight. No money was offered returned to us for the cheaper flight that ended up costing us a 4 hour round trip drive and hotel room

Have not flown with Delta since 2012, this time my flight to Florida was very upsetting, I was told he when I landed in Georgia that Delta already knew I would not make my connection, and that I was placed on standby, and that I would be in a 4 pm flight. I don’t understand how I can void and pay for a flight and Delta sets the layover schedule and has no concern for the people traveling and you think it’s ok just to alter our flight plans. I understand weather issue, but we were not told anything on our I coming flight and there was no one at out gate telling us that we were not going to make our connection, instead we run like hell to make it only to get there and be told gates are closed and now you have to wait. You need to communicate with your passengers better. I paid for my ticket , I should know what is going on.

We flew from MSP to SLC. Not only was our flight delayed due to a last minute mechanical, we had to wait for a push back cart and de ice. Lastly, the flight was not catered with snacks. We would have missed our connecting flight if the pilots were not aboard our flight. Then our son who was flying out of SFO to meet us on Jackson the next day had a flight delay. He was sent back home as there was no way you could get him into Jackson. This caused us to miss a day and 1/2 with him on a trip specifically to meet up with him. When I called you during our delay, the agent said that we could change our return flights without charge, when I called back to change out flight the other agent said no. Frustrated that we were promised something that was not true. Furthermore, the delay for our son costed him over $130 in uber charges going to and from airport. Two not positive experiences with Delta in a 24 hour period. Not a way to get return customers.

Supervisor Jackie was rude and nasty I was moved by Delta from a window seat (my stated preferences) to a middle seat and when I called (having to wait 1:30 for a call back) she told me too bad. I explained to her I wanted me original seat back and cannot fly in middle so far due to anxiety. Again told me nothing could be done, AND to stop talking bc I'm going on and on. I was so offended and she created such anxiety for me. Because delta did not accommodate me and treated me so poorly, I had to change my flight! And now landing in NYC during rush hour which will add more stress and time and cost to my trip home from the airport Big mess up delta. Very very upset and offended especially as a medallion member and a gold card user. Terrible
Horrible Experience

This was my first time flying Delta and I have been thoroughly underwhelmed!!! My ticket and reservation was lost and I spent a few hours trying to get that situation sortes, and then when I finally got that resolved I was informed when I arrived that my prepaid baggage could not be checked, because they could not find the confirmation. After getting these debacles straightened out, I was greeted at my gate with a very impersonal agent named Carla in RDU. The agent was rude and tried puprosely to be of as little help as possible. She smiled and carried on with other Delta staff who were boarding the flight, but when approached by customers she was agaitated and bothered. After all of this when I finally got on the plane my carry on which was a small bag would not fit in the overhead bin of the aircraft even though I was expressly told that it would fit perfectly. Unfortunately I have to fly back on this airline, but I have been thoroughly displeased with the service that I received!

I’d like to say hats off to the great crew on my last Delta flight from JFK to DSS. All the crew were excellent and one attendant (Aisha) was completely outstanding. Not only was she courteous and friendly, we watched her handle a several different, difficult passenger situations with grace and patience and she still showed great kindness towards the passenger(s) being difficult. On the same flight we observed her helping comfort two young mothers with children in stress. All with grace and smiles. Kudos to Aisha. Even the Captain came through the aisles and greeted and mingled with the passengers for a short while. So kudos also to Delta for maintaining and encouraging great employees. My wife and I fly a lot of miles using several airlines around the world. Delta is our favorite! GO Delta!!!

I am an international speaker and I am always comforted by knowing I will be taken care of traveling on Delta. I have in the past tried many airlines… But Delta tops them all with customer service and people that really care. I fly for my livelihood all over the globe and when I am traveling Delta which is about 95% of the time, I am at peace knowing that I will be taken care of. Even the App that is connected to Delta works flawlessly. I have been traveling with Delta since 2004 and I am very appreciative and proud did Valon to this family… They truly make you feel like family. Some features broke with latest update

I’m a Gold Medallion, so not exactly a stranger to Delta’s policies or app, and this stuff used to work just fine on the app. I’m using the newest version of the app on an iPhone XS. However, starting recently I can no longer manage my upgrade preferences for flights on the app. Which is annoying because depending on the flight and my seat assignment in coach, I may or may not want Comfort Plus. (Obviously I always want First if it’s available, but if I have an exit row window seat in coach, that’s better than a middle seat in Comfort Plus... otherwise Comfort Plus is better.) Except I can no longer manage this on the app! The “Upgrade Preferences” (or whatever it’s called) that are specific to flight segments is just gone. I also can’t email the itinerary anymore. The option is there and it makes up a nice email with the itinerary on it and I can fill in the email address(es) where I want it to go... and then there’s no “Send” button anywhere! In fact, you can’t navigate away from the un-sendable email either. Once the app generates the email... all you can do is exit the app completely. Delta: PLEASE FIX!!! I repeat: these features worked just fine for *years* and then suddenly stopped working in late 2018. I will update this review if/when the features get fixed.

I fly with my family weekly. The app makes ticketing easy. However, you can’t purchase “infant-in-lap” seats without calling customer service. That takes at least an hour. I don’t understand why it can’t be an option. It frustrates me greatly! However, I appreciate that the miles are stored and that I can use my rewards with ease. Also, one of my flights was cancelled and they notified me 12 hours in advance! That was great because I didn’t travel to the airport and I was able to make other plans. I really appreciated that! Also, I have given up on Delta’s Wi-Fi. It never ever works and when it does, it’s for like 30% of the flight or once the plane is above 10,000ft. I just plan to be away from the internet while in the air.
Good app but frustrating reloads

I like the Delta app overall. It’s pretty easy to use for ticket purchases, flight check in, changing flights or seats, contacting customer service, etc. My only complaint is it reloads the screen pretty much every time you go back to it. So during boarding you have your boarding pass up but your screen goes to sleep or you switch briefly to another app before you reach the front of the line, when you get back to the app it reverts back to the home screen before sloooowly retrieving your boarding pass while you hold up the line. Similarly if you just want to quickly pull up your boarding pass to check your gate number or boarding time, you have to wait for it to reload. None of the other airline apps I’ve used do this. Very aggravating.

Our flight out of Minneapolis was delayed an hour and half. When we got to Atlanta, two out of five of our party sprinted to our gate. The other three of us were way back on the plane and couldn’t get off quick enough to get there on time. The two sprinters got to our gate 11 minutes before our flight was to take off. No staff was there. When the gate attendant finally showed up, she refused to let my friends on board. The other three of us got there 5 minutes before the plane was to depart. None of us were able to get on. That was the last flight of the day. The lady in customer service who was helping us after that was really rude and impatient with us. Also, the flight we were on was so full that we were made to check our carry on luggage, so we had nothing with us for sleeping over. Therefore, some of us were left without our necessary medication.

I spent over 45 min on the phone while the representative helped me use miles to upgrade my flight to first class....I verbally confirmed with her numerous times that the amount of miles she quoted would upgrade myself and my co-traveler to first class for the flight to our destination as well as our return flight. Upon getting ready to check in I see our seats are in row 34....not quite first class. After waiting 2 hours for a call back to rectify this I was met with a “sorry, you should have checked on this”. The reps supervisor instructed the rep to let me know it was my fault, even through I had confirmed (again multiple times with the rep that did the upgrade a month ago). There were 3 open seats in first class at the time of this call and delta offered no help in this situation. For a customer that flys often forbvoth work and vacation they sure helped me make my next flight not be on delta.

Jullian in AF-Cincinnati is a very route supervisor. She told me she was as high up as I could go and that she does not have a supervisor. I hung up on her and I called back & a regular representative helped me a little bit more than her. Delta had us booked in row 11 myself ,my 2year-old & my 7 year-old. I called 4 times each time I was on hold for over 40 minutes. They moved us into separate seats away from each other. Somehow they separated my daughters reservation from mine and my sons. I sent Facebook messages emails reviews online with my phone number and no response. They moved our flight because I had surgery which is really nice of them but they said we were in row 11 and then they changed us ! I offered to pay for an upgrade they denied me and said there was no seats available. So I went on the website and tried to book a new flight what do you know plenty of seats are still available on that flight!

I am not a hi tech, hi flyer miles guy. I use smartphones because I have to, and fly on Delta whenever I can. For MY needs, I found this app very easy to check in, to find my seating, and to obtain my boarding pass. I cannot comment on the multitude of other things the app may be able to do. But sitting in South East Asia, concerned about making my flight back to the US, this application does what I need it to, and any app that does what one needs it to, clearly, concisely and correctly, deserve a 100% score from its user. Five Stars is 100% (Also, for those people who think ‘Well...I just don’t ‘give’ out five stars, you aren’t ‘giving’ anything. This isn’t about you! You are Rating a tool based on its performance.)

I was looking over the app today. Checking my status. I noticed in the app it states unlimited compliments upgrades. It just so happens that I have had status for 2 years now and have never gotten an upgrade complimentary. I’m guessing too many loyalty club members with status and not enough upgrade seats. What’s the point of loyalty? One free bag checked? They do this at the gate anyways when the flight is fully packed. Seriously rethinking my loyalty to delta on several wavelengths.

I’m able to do most of my things that I need to do with my flights on the app with maybe only 10% of the matter is do I need to address with a live agent. The app and the desktop does not support the same features. I’ve called numerous times because there’s an issue with Secure Flight Data being synchronized with the app and the desktop sites. This causes the customer to have to call in to add KTN information and call in to check in for TSA PRE CHECK.

Easy to navigate, but it lacks the same functionality as some of its competitors (I.e. United). The flight tracker never loads, and on the numerous regional jets I fly each year this is a must have. Please fix this. Ideally match the layout of your IFE.

Ongoing bug problems

For over two years now I haven’t been able to book airfare on the app or the mobile site. I input all the passenger info then it prompts me to select seats/extras. When I push that button a bubble pops up telling me that they can’t complete the purchase. Now I find on the app that I can’t request upgrades. I’ve update the app, deleted and reinstalled it. I’ve also contacted them and they said they’re tech department doesn’t have the capability right now to fix the bug(!) and can’t offer anything more than that. I mean, c’mon. Hard to give an app more than 1 star when I can’t use it fir anything.
No International Check-in for Green Card Holders

Great app. The only thing letting Delta down here is a lack of ability for Green Card holders to check in for their return trip home. The app only asks for Passport info and can’t discern between, for example, a UK-issued passport but someone who is resident in the USA. Other airlines have this figured out. Come on Delta.

Putting the upcoming pass in the iOS wallet is brilliant, and the watch app companion is wonderful. Please do take the next step and invalidate any expired passes (check your competition for examples) so that it is obvious which passes are upcoming or used / expired.

This app constantly reverts to whatever flight information was cached in October 2017. Why can’t it cache the info from 10 minutes ago? Every time I open this app, I have to wait for it to refresh data. Sometimes that can take longer than expected due to connectivity. Regardless, the app should remember the data that it has previously already pulled. I’ve signed out and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled, and I’ve even signed in on an Android, same problem!

I love Delta; it’s the only airline I use. Most attendants on flights are helpful and very personable. I most often have a layover in Atlanta and unfortunately the attendants in the airport are often NOT helpful or rude or uninterested or all three. This is such a contrast but I’ve just accepted it’s taking the good with the bad. But I repeat - I love Delta.

I have traveled for work & pleasure over the past 7 years & have tried their competitors, usually because Delta didn’t serve that particular city *very rare situation* I’ve even gone as far as taking a trip with a lay over in order to avoid having to use another carrier! I fly Delta exclusively because I always get Incredible customer service, their flights are on time, if not early 90% of the time & their planes are newer & clean! I ❤️ Delta!!

Worst service ever, delayed flt caused me to miss my connecting fly, Delta DID NOT take care of my (unplanned) overnight accommodations, airport hotels were booked by the time I landed and Delta left me stranded. I slept on the floor overnight at LAX!!!! They would not even give me access to the Sky Clubhouse so I could wait in comfort...worst flight experience of my life.

This is the first time I have sent in a complaint. I am a loyal Delta passenger for many years. I understand the challenges with airline service but this is too much for most of the passengers today. Today, the TSA lines are too long and go back and forth thru the entire Ticketing Hall! Why can’t Delta and the other airlines better coordinate the high volume of passengers needing inspections at MSP? (We had this problem last year during spring break) I thought it was addressed? I made my reservation for this flight well over a month ago. Surely someone has the passenger load information for each day that needs to go to TSA for proper staffing. If money is the issue then raise the fee. If this continues, people just transferring here will avoid MSP and probably pick a competitor. This is just poor customer service whether it’s the airlines, TSA or the MAC. Also, all of those constant and loud paging messages (forgot items, final boarding calls, etc) that go over a speaker system throughout the entire terminal is very annoying. Perhaps MSP could join Asian and European airports by installing electronic paging boards throughout the terminal. Or, change the fine print language on a ticket that notifies passengers it’s their responsibility to know when and where to find their gate. By the way, with all the to/from flights from Asia, why isn’t there any signage translations in Mandarin, Japanese and Korean? This airport is not very friendly. They do English for us in signage, menus, etc. How can a global airline be so insensitive? Thanks for listening. James Fredkove

This is a great app, let’s you book and have access to your flight tickets right there. Only issue I have is on Apple Watch, every time you open the app on the watch you got to open the app on the iPhone. Like having it on the watch is to not go through your pockets and getting your phone out. It should be there instantly. Other than that I would give it 5 stars if it gets fixed.

App deleted all my info , changed all my name on my account to a previous one that I had updated months ago and just recently won’t let me add bags to check in. It’s frustrating when I’m trying to check in and I have to re check in at the airport to update the checked in bags I needed.

Love the convenience of the app, but I’m never able to pay for my checked bags via the app. I end up having to either go to the website to do it or wait until I get to the airport. So that makes it inconvenient.

I enjoy Delta flights! Nice leather seats and good snacks! However, I was quite frustrated that checking our baggage took 39 minutes! It seems that the people in line had issues with tickets and should have been in another line!only one person checking for a long line! Going through security was a breeze compared to getting luggage checked! United’s kiosk prints out luggage tag and we put it on! Dropping off bags is so fast!

Thaw app could provide more information about each step. For example it took me about five tries to figure out how to deal with confirming passport information. Only by luck did I click on the persons name which took me to a page that had the correct passport info. Instead of finding “confirm”, it tells you to “add”. Add what? To what? Stupid. Only as a last resort did I hit “add” which took me to the next person to repeat the drill. You are leaving to the customer how to roll through your app. Waists a lot of time for both the customer and the Airline, and costs the airline money. Think of the savings if the app were more intuitive and had good directions. Loyal, but slightly frustrated customer👍

We flew from CLE to JFK on 6/1/19. Our flight fromJFK to Shannon had a bit of delay but we boarded and said we would make up time. Over Newfoundland (about 2.5 hours of a 6.5 hr flight) the pilot came on and said we were turning around that they did not want to fly the plan over open waters. We landed back at JFK around 3am. The airlines supplied us with pillows, blankets, toiletries and snacks. They got a flight out next day. They were wonderful.
Maintenance trouble

Luckily captain decided to test engine which had not been checked after maintenance the night before. Problem still had to be fixed and mechanics were not on duty for our early flight. Part had to be ordered after mechanics came on duty 1.5 hr later. On plus side we were rerouted and only arrived 3.5 hrs later. But most of that time spent on cramped flights.

Garbage app and garbage servers. App logged me out as soon as I got to TSA counter and then did not let me log back in. Kept in saying failed log in. I triple checked my credentials. Ended up missing my flight because of this disaster of an app because TSA made me get back in the beginning of the line after I got a printed boarding pass from counter agent

I am loyal to very few large companies on this planet. My loyalty often winds up local whenever possible. However, with Delta, I feel as proud to be a loyalist as I do with a local business. They treat me right. When you earn status, IT MEANS SOMETHING! I capitalize that because with another major airline, my status I earned that was similar when I lived elsewhere and flew them a lot did nothing for me in comparison. I could go on and on about why I love Delta, but I’ll just end with the fact that they really try. They’ve improved. They’re staff is overwhelmingly good, and for a huge business like this, that is not easy. I’m a Delta loyalist for the rest of my days. The app works seamlessly by the way. I am supposed to mention that huh? Truly perfect app that will tell me right when my bags are loaded on the plane, at baggage claim, the whole 9’yards. Thanks Delta for being a good company. I hope this review makes someone happy, because I run a business and can’t even express the amount of people in your employ that have impressed and delighted me in my travels. Cheers! Flying you tomorrow!

In fairness, there are many things this app does right - however, the plethora of things that are broken and that have been for years now merits a strongly worded inditement. The app consistently crashes with airport WiFi. Delta blames this on the local airport’s WIfI- but for a Multi-year Diamond Medallion with multiple million miles who sees hundreds of airports each year - it can’t always be the airports wifi - sorry Delta, that Dog don’t hunt! Also, the app crashes consistently (usually while I’m in the TSA line). For me, it crashed 1/2 the time I tried to use it in the last year (I wrote it down each time it crashed). This is unacceptable! You can change the amount of information stored on each device vs what has to be downloaded (and which is the likely cause of these crashes). For example, once my boarding pass has been downloaded - why does it need to be redone loaded every time I log on?? A simple byte of info indicating a change vs no change could flag it and give me the option of downloading an updated boarding pass or not - this would prevent it from crashing at the most in-opportune time (at the TSA line). Yes - I can bypass by taking a screenshot or saving it to my wallet - but most of the time I am running. If I’ve already downloaded my boarding pass - don’t make me log on and connect to get it again! I know you can fix this. Please do!!

My bag was never put on my first flight from JFK to MSP. When I arrived at Fargo Hector, my bag never arrived. Delta rep confirmed multiple times that my bag would be on the next flight to Fargo, and verified I had nothing else I had to do. The next day I returned to the airport to talk with another Delta rep because my app hadn’t said anything about my bag. The Rep said I should have filed a claim for the bag, and the Delta rep from the night before should have told me to do that.. he didn’t. I was then told my bag would be on the next flight to Fargo. I received a notification that my bag was at the carousel at the Minneapolis airport at baggage claim.... why the hell would it be at baggage claim at MSP when I was in Fargo. I was on the phone with customer service for over an hour trying to figure out why my bag wasn’t registered correctly and why it wasn’t on its way to Fargo, again.. fast forward a couple hours - I got a notification from the app that my bag was getting on a flight and would arrive at 4:50. When I got there, the flight was delayed. I waited another 25 min, and then came to realize that my bag was not on that flight either. My app updated to say that my bag was going on another flight and wouldn’t arrive until 8:30 pm.. something always happens when I fly with Delta. Wouldn’t recommend flying with them, especially when their customer service can’t do anything about the issue.
Many missing options

One of the many missing options is the opportunity to volunteer when a flight is overbooked. I just checked in for an overbooked flight and was never directed to the volunteer screen. If I had used the airport kiosk, I could have volunteered. True, volunteering does not guarantee being chosen, but at least I would have had the opportunity to try. I’ve had this same problem when the app has automatically checked me in and never allowed me the option of volunteering for overbooked flights. I am seriously considering deleting this app. Today: After neither the app nor the website would not let me volunteer, I checked in for this morning’s flight at the airport kiosk and easily accessed the volunteer screen. Unfortunately, I figured that I did not need the paper boarding pass because it would be on my phone. This app made me check in again to view the boarding passes and, once again, did not provide the volunteer screen. Fortunately, the gate agent was extremely helpful and added my name to the list at the price I wanted. The big problem is that if two people volunteer at the same price, one of the deciding factors is who volunteered first. It would be wonderful if the app let me volunteer when I check in 24 hours in advance then let me check the status whenever I want to see if the list has begun and add my name — if there was no list yet at check in.

I can’t say it enough times how much I enjoy flying Delta. I have had to fly a lot for work and Delta is Leaps and bounds above the other airlines. Where they stand out the most is customer service! I only wish that when there happens to be a cheaper flight on another airline that Delta could match that price so that I wouldn’t be forced to fly those other airlines. My company requires I choose the cheapest option. I can usually explain it ends up cheaper on Delta due to my free checked luggage but once in a while I still have to fly another airline when I would much rather fly Delta! Keep up the good work Delta! Also, if I could recognize and individual employee then Kerry in Billings, MT deserves some real recognition. It is very hard to leave home every week and she is the nicest, friendliest Gate agent. She is often times training new staff and is very patient with them. She really is top notch and her warm smile makes leaving home a little less painful. Thank you Kerry!

Is Delta so insecure about needing a review that I need to get a notification every 5 minutes until I do so? Ok well then here is the review... I am very unhappy about the pervasive self-serving attitude of Delta and many of its employees. This is especially true at ECP Florida beaches International Airport. My father died and my son and wife were unable to make the funeral service the next day in Minneapolis because Delta cancelled their flight due to “mechanical” problems. Do you think that there would be some empathy or compassion expressed by Delta representatives. When my wife tried to cancel the ticket because Delta said they had no way of getting there on time they said the only way they would refund the ticket would be if I provided a death certificate. Ok, they created the problem and then they want me to go through hoops so I can fulfill their bureaucratic requirement designed to hang onto those precious dollars. Greedy, cold, indifferent and uncaring. That is really messed up and shows how much Delta cares about you as a customer. Pathetic. My family did miss my Dad’s funeral... thanks for the great service and empathy Delta! Oh by the way the “bereavement” fares offered by Delta are actually higher priced than the daily fares offered by Expedia and others.

I travel a lot and I’m not loyal to any airline, money talks. With this in mind, I’ve traveled domestic and international with many airlines and have used, or attempted to use, all of their apps. Interoperability with Delta website. If you purchased your tickets via website, good news! The app will interface seamlessly with website purchases. Not all airline apps do this. Ease of use. Once logged in to the app, you have the option of staying logged in between sessions which is fantastic when you are traveling. This makes it easy to access your digital boarding pass. I made my first trip with just a carry on bag and an e-ticket by checking in on the app. This eliminated the trip to the kiosk or ticket counter. The entire time I was in the terminal, I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. I showed the e-ticket to security and the gate agent; that’s it!! Updates. There were many reminders as appropriate. This include: Check in 24 hrs prior Gate information Departure and arrival updates Boarding advisories Luggage advisories The app has a lot of great features, some found in other airline apps, some not. Some of these features include: Purchase tickets Update personal information needed to fly and TSA Flight tracking Terminal maps with GPS location to navigate the terminal Show boarding pass without logging into smartphone Skymile data ...and more. This is a must have app to fly in today’s electronic world.

Weeks after the death of my husband and having made it through Christmas, I thought I was able to stumble through all the “firsts”. New Year’s Eve morning I realized I could not do New Year’s Eve alone and ER doctor daughter working, other daughter back in Vegas, friends all with plans. Spontaneously, I called a Delta agent and cried and explained why I could not stay alone (plus 15 degree below windchill in MI). I was not as strong as I thought and needed to get away. She took so much time and helped me plan an immediate trip to FL, with such good suggestions and I decided on Ft Lauderdale. I stayed at a beautiful hotel right on the ocean in 78 degrees and sun! On boarding I began crying and a flight attendant paid special attention and even wrote me a beautiful supportive note on a Delta napkin that I still have. There’s even more but this is getting too long! I have told everyone I can about Delta with a Heart! ❤️

Very inefficient when trying to change an existing reservation. There are 2 ‘go back’ arrows you press the wrong one, you have to start your whole. So if you click on the flight you potentially may change to, it will calculate the change fee and price difference, and new total. If you want to compare a price with a different Day, you have to start the search all over again. It just doesn’t make sense. People these day need to be able to make changes themselves and see their options. This app makes it very difficult to do that. Then if you call the phone center. They are even more useless. It seems their computers are really old, and their price quotes are always like $3000 more than the prices I found. Their computers automatically just pick the most expensive flight to quote to customers. Then if you tell them about the flight you found. It takes them like 30 minutes to be able to pull it up themselves. It is infuriating. I am happy that eventually Delta wants to phase out all of the customer service people and replace them with an AI program. So, I suppose it doesn’t make sense for them to update them computer programs they are working with.

The app is great. Well, most of the time. I should have known better. The first leg of my flight was delayed and, when the plane landed, I had 20 minutes to deplane and catch the next flight. No problem. The app said it was the next gate over in the same terminal. Whew! So, plenty of time to go to the bathroom, right? Double checked the app and now it says I’m supposed to go to the next terminal. Ugh. Down the stairs, just missed the train, ran to the next gate. The screen at the gate shows the next plane to my destination leaves in 90 minutes. What??!? Raced around to find a departure screen and lo and behold, my flight really was leaving where I just deplaned. Ran back to the previous terminal. If you’re tracking with me you’re thinking what I’m hoping won’t be true. The gate is now shut, the ramp pulled away and the plane sitting there just like it was mocking me. So, this is the last time I EVER rely on the app. Why the two databases aren’t synced is a mystery. You would think it would be reliable but I hope someone else benefits from my learned lesson. DO NOT RELY on the app.
Use it for managing booked flights, but limited options when booking

Definitely worth downloading, as it provides all tools for managing your booked flights. I would recommend to use browser when booking though, especially when your dates are flexible and you want to see prices for +/- several days. Sometimes leaving or coming back just a day earlier or later results in drastic difference in price. The browser allows to select “flexible dates” and provides the grid view with prices, which gives you a good idea about the various flight costs during a particular time period. At the time is this writing there is no such option in the app. Only one departure and arrival date can be chosen at a time; to see prices for various dates one has to enter them manually for every flight price check, which takes forever and doesn’t provide the overall picture at a glance, like booking via browser does.

I have been a long time DL Customer for several years, approaching 3M miles. Over all my experience has been very positive. Great Airline, Great People, Great Customer Service. One of my negative impressions are the changes that DL made to their FF Program. Hard for me to completely understand when a lower level FF Customer who purchases a slightly higher or higher coach class ticket receives priority over a Diamond Flyer. As a Corporate Flyer we are asked to book our flights at least 14 days out, which usually results in a lower coach fare compared to a fare that was booked “late”. I have had on several occasions received a personal apology from a flight attendant. One time the flight attendant wrote me a personal note apologizing that I did not receive at least a DL comfort seat. One flight attendant showed me all of the Silver, Golds and Platinum’s that were seating in DL Comfort or 1st Class. DL is rewarding fare not loyalty. Just my impressions and experience this year.

This is the best airline for a single handicap person to use! There’s always a wheelchair for me within a few minutes. The persons who push me to my gate are extremely courteous and will always stop at the restroom or store so I can get water! They are the best! My ONLY complaint last year was the fact that they wheeled me from check-in up to the concourse at Detroit Metro and dropped me off with 25 others in wheelchairs and there we sat. After over half an hour I got up to the counter and informed them that my flight would be boarding in half an hour and I STILL needed to go through security! They did jump into action as there were 3 in wheelchairs on my flight back to Ft Myers, Fl. I was rushed through security and got to my gate as they were boarding. No one ever told us WHY we were dumped together in a holding area and just sat there. Otherwise, my flight was great!

Where do I start. 125p at Springield-Branson flight delayed till 515p, plane arrives to gate at 450p. Delta rebooked our flight through the automated system till 0600 next morning. No phone call, nothing. Went to the desk at the gate to ask what happened and she said she couldn’t help me, my flight was cancelled. I told her we had boarding passes with seat assignments, her reply was that they were not valid any longer. She then proceeded to give our seats to customers waiting for seats. I finally had to get aggressive and tell them they needed to get our luggage off the plane if we were not going to be on that flight. I asked where were we going to stay the night and she just shrugged her shoulders. We had to get very loud for them to finally get someone to help us. Just gave us hotel numbers to call. Called delta to try and get another flight out to Atlanta(because one was leaving at 655p). Agent on the phone booked tomorrow at 650p thinking he was booking us for a 650p tonight. Thankful Holiday Inn took us in and gave us a distressed rate and cared when Delta and Springfield Airport could care less.
An amazing app but a critical missing feature for Watch

Delta has all around the best airline app out there. Extremely useful from booking to boarding. I once booked a ticket in the app using Apple Pay and it took less than a minute total. Truly seamless and with an intuitive design. But there’s just one thing I can’t wrap my head around: the poor Apple Watch app bundled with the iPhone app. While Delta’s app for iPhone is far superior to its competitors, the Watch app lags behind. American, JetBlue, and United all offer a useful watch app that includes a Watch face complication for quick viewing of up to date information on seat, gate, and boarding time just by raising your wrist. Delta’s Watch app lacks this, and even loading the watch app itself (not the missing complication) provides a clunky experience that rarely loads and lacks useful information.

I was flying from Rochester, MN, to Boston through Atlanta the Saturday after Thanksgiving. As my plane was taxiing to the gate in Atlanta, the app notified me that my connecting flight had been delayed. I was given the option of changing my itinerary at no extra charge and was given several alternatives. I chose to switch although I would now have another extra stop. I was seated in the center seat on both new flights but the seats were comfortable. By using the track my baggage feature, I was learned that my bag was coming later on the original flight. In the end I arrived in Boston only eight minutes after my original scheduled time. Because I knew my bag was not with me, I was able to go directly to the baggage service counter and have my bag delivered to my home. It arrived just as I was getting up the following morning. Great app!! Good job, Delta!!

The Delta app is far and away the best and most beautiful airline app I’ve used. I especially LOVE the ability to swap between classes when booking (such that I can fly first outbound and Comfort+ inbound) - SO convenient. That said, I really wish Delta would introduce something like United’s MilePlay, where every month or so you get a new challenge that earns you miles + encourages you to travel with the airline. I’m always looking for a reason to go somewhere and MilePlay definitely gets me to spend. Another thing that would be AMAZING is the ability to save/monitor flights! I like to be able to save a flight and then be notified when the price has changed. It also helps to keep track of flights that I should be buying so I don’t forget. Some things to think about!!

I have been flying on other airlines and used their app all the times. While using the Delta’s app, I didn’t felt good about these. I hope all unfamiliar people find it same. Because apps are meant to be used by novice people, but Im myself a Mobile Application Developer, I found it very hard or not good. These are my suggestions: 1. The dark color theme is good while traveling; but Me personally control the brightness of my mobile screen - all the time. Because you care so much about the battery life while traveling and having very Dark text and colors, frequently I had to brighten up my screen. But if we will have some light theme, even if I put low brightness-it will be visible. I know people, this sounds what! But when you are travelled long and tou don’t have charge on your phone. Then you will understand why. 2. I couldn’t even find Entertainment option in the App!! What! When you connect to wifi is that a only place to find entertainment option? I navigated through the app to find that Button 🤣 but still couldn’t find it. 3. I tried to write these as feedback but I ended up writing them as review. I never wrote any reviews on app store. But I throught I should write to make it more better for Everybody like me. 4. Added the boarding passes on Wallet. But if seats changed, wallet still shows the last seat. Its not updating. It was very confusing. Ended up asking at the gate what is my seat? Hope this gets some serious attention.

I called tonight asking about my travel in the morning. I am a sky miles member and hold status in the medallion program as well. I was curious as to why my automatic upgrade was not available for myself and my amazing better half that leaves for a trip that I gifted to him in the morning. The rep wasn’t so helpful, so I asked for the supervisor. He explained why and immediately had the solution. This trip I gifted my love is very important to me. A very dear friend that he misses terribly is there and they recently were able to reconnect. My love and I have been together for 17 years. I am so thankful to the person I spoke to tonight that was able to get us into delta comfort and had a solution. I always receive such wonderful service with Delta. Thank you for again making my experience pleasurable.

It is frustrating that Delta has not taken care of all possible scenarios in the design of this app. I used the app recently while on a flight and as network was not available, the app forced me to the login screen and cleared the user ID and password fields. Subsequent logins require you to remember the password which is really frustrating as the password policies are not standard as well . ( they don't allow special characters in the password). Further there is no Touch ID integration enabled which is utterly surprising . Finding the options to reset the password was a pain. It took a while for me to figure out that I need to click on "login help" as I was looking for a "Forgot Password "option. I can help with further inputs if needed to fix this and many more frustrating issues .
Checks you in without asking when you launch the app

This is a very good app but it automatically checks you in as early as the day before if you open the app (without asking). For me that is always a bad idea. I hope they change this or make it a configurable setting. I never check in early because the nature of my business forces me change flights at the last minute sometimes. Today I desperately needed to change my flight but delta wouldn’t let me (on line or in the app) because I had already inadvertently “checked in” yesterday when I looked at the app just wanting to check my departing flight time. Couple that with a 2 hour wait to talk to someone at delta to see if I could get a later flight forced me to take my original flight and leave my customer when I really needed to stay a few more hours. I really can’t see how it benefits me to “check in” for a flight the day before.

Overall this app is very good; however, I think there is one major flaw when booking flights. After logging into the app and finding flights to book, the next step is to fill out all my personal information, including my skymiles number — even though I am logged into my app and you have all that information. This means I have to go back out to the home screen, copy my number, and go back through booking. On my last trip I planned to add the number later and forgot, so I had to request acknowledgment of those miles later through the website and wait for approval. It would be very helpful to link the traveler information screen with personal account information, similar to how the website works. Then I would give this app 5 stars!
Doesn't update flight info (useless) + crashes

App crashed five minutes before boarding time and then we had to wait for everyone to get printed boarding passes at the gate. ~~~ My flight was delayed four hours (still hasn't boarded) and the gate has changed several times. The app is STILL displaying the original gate; NONE of the text alerts have included gate info and there was no announcement about the final change...Not to mention that the gate we are now using isn't displaying my flight and we have a new flight #. Why change the flight number? But then NOT update it on the app, or the text alerts? I don't see the point of the app if the information doesn't update in real-time. This makes an already stressful situation more frustrating.

I appreciate the new patent check-in feature, but a few bugs and workflow issues were there. Checking in to Air France I had to re-enter my passport information. Small but annoying because you have it. A million times you have it. Plus I couldn’t add baggage. Maybe that’s on purpose, but then tell me. The last thing was I couldn’t add the boarding passes to my wallet. And one last gripe is that I saw people on Reddit saying the C+ upgrade option had the “only if seat preference available” option, but I couldn’t find it. Maybe because I’m currently international, but I would really like that option. I hate having to try and go back and claim an aisle in economy when I get “upgraded” to a center seat. Generally I like the application. Makes traveling so much easier; however these few little quirks will keep it at a 4 for now.
Another change for the worse

This used to be a great app, but recent changes have really hurt it. The today screen is useless, going there automatically when you want to go to another trip. Especially annoying when you just closed that trip a minute ago. The app looses your boarding pass about every third trip (thankful for passbook) and blanks it out in the boarding queue leading to a long re login while those in line behind you look at you like you're an idiot for not having a boarding pass. I just downloaded the latest version and Delta has made it even worse. It is pretending to constantly update your seat assignment even when there is no change. But more annoying is the elimination of multi user accounts meaning you have to enter the full account number every time you swap between you and your wife's account. Don't update the app. This one is a bad one.

I have been flying Delta regularly for years. I know I will always have a good trip, even if I have four reroutes due to weather. Staff manage to maintain composure when I am sure they should blow up. I know that not everyone is perfect and there are those few people who are grumpy or agitated- but I figure I have days I am not as nice as I want to be. I try to give the cranky staff member a pass-and remember they have lives that exist outside of their jobs. I realize it could be a partner or spouse is sick but that staff person has to work. Maybe it was a rough day dealing with some other major issue. When I can’t let go of the staff members attitude towards me or others I write a complaint and go back to enjoying my trip. Delta is great in so many ways for me. Thank you!

I fly to Birmingham and Pensacola frequently now to visit my children one of whom is in the military. I have always flown Delta but recently have encountered problems that is making me consider switching airlines. 1) you recently canceled the nonstop flight out of Birmingham to LaGuardia Airport at 6 AM which caused the rest of the day November 5 to be overbooked. If someone had looked at the college football calendar they would have noticed it's a huge SEC game of Alabama versus LSU. 2) in addition my flight home on the Friday after Thanksgiving from Pensacola was canceled at 6:30 PM and now I get to less hours with my son who is in the military because I have to fly home at 4:30 PM 3) stop at nickel and diming me for baggage fees and seats. If I buy a seat on your airline I should get a seat assignment this is not south west

In booking the bereavement tickets to my home for the passing of my grandmother, I dealt with an agent that was not similar to the kind of customer service I’m used to experiencing from Delta. I used to be a heavy traveler for work, and always made it a point to fly Delta. Almost every single one of the persons I came across was very accommodating and polite. The agent who booked my flights not only laughed at me when booking the flights, scoffed at my comment that I was used to better customer service from Delta, but made remarks when discussing my flight arrangements. I’m normally a fairly calloused person, but experiencing the death of my grandmother, whom I was close to was painful. This gentleman made the experience worse. My flights were outstanding as normal with Delta. One agent in Atlanta even helped my sister out by putting her in a seat that was open, since she was bringing a lap child. That was the type of customer service we’re used to. Thank you for your tome.

I have flown several other airlines going to and from Michigan. The last two times there was either a snow storm or hurricane. The first time I was unable to get in touch with the airlines (not Delta) for two days and finally booked a flight home on Delta. This time, I booked Delta round trip. Hurricane came and I had to reschedule my flight home. I called Delta and it only took maybe ten minutes for them to change my flight with no extra fees. The last time I was on a different airline and had to actually pay for a whole new flight home on Delta bc could not get flight on the airlines I flew in on. From now on, Delta is my preferred airlines. The Delta App is wonderful. I hit button to check in and it’s done! Always fly Delta!
Very disappointing

I Purchased a business class ticket from Jacksonville Florida to Buenos Aires Argentina round-trip. In general I was very disappointed with the leg going from Jacksonville to Atlanta Did general music and entertainment system did not work and all I got was just a shrug of the shoulders and that’s it the music didn’t work and I was flying first class in the second leg the food was pretty bad and again the entertainment system was very very poor in general the comfort of the Business class seat was of a lower level than the business class seat in American Airlines. Just not a very pleasant experience. Furthermore I thought it was very very irritating that you have a chance to review the flight only one day or a few hours after you finish your trip. That is ridiculous in the very few hours that they give you you’re just going to sleep and recovering fromThe long trip and then when you go to reviewing it tells you that it’s just too late you cannot review it. That is Utterly ridiculous.

I am a software salesman and now, 64 years old. I have been flying Delta since before there were any frequent flyer programs. 44 countries and over 150 cities. I have flown every major airline in the United States and many that are no longer in existence. Airplanes can be the same or similar, but it is Delta’s people that make the difference. I love what I do and I love to travel. I have lived in several U.S. states, São Paulo, Brazil and Tokyo, Japan and Delta has been my travel partner every step of the way. Today, I am flying Delta from Phoenix to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and back home, but always with Delta. No company is perfect, but since 1979, Delta has been an important, reliable and friendly choice for all my air travel. Working on 5 million!
First Class service

I always remember seeing that curtain telling me “This isn’t for you, stay out!” When I couldn’t afford first class. Now I can and what do I find but coach class passengers lined up to use the toilet in first class, and even worse, leaning on my shoulder, some of them coughing on me as I’m trying to relax. And the free booze? Put a lid on it. Our last flight from ATL to PHX was non-stop boozing for the two loud-mouthed, obnoxious boobs in the row to our front. And the booze kept coming. When it came to deplane, I had to help the one drunk who had his bag aboard our row get his bag down. It’s disgusting. I drink but two of anything is my limit. Someone has to act responsibly and I guess that choice can’t be left to some people. Service in first class is first class though.
Informative, intuitive, easy to use

Frequent business traveler… I rediscovered Delta about a year and a half ago after having status on two other airlines for 10+ years… Very impressed. The app typically seems to know what’s going on before the gate agents do. During a recent weather storm the app alerted me and put me on a re-routed flight within 60 seconds and 2-3 traps. I recently chose a Delta flight with a layover instead of a same cost direct flight, just because I wanted a Delta flight… mostly because I wanted the miles, but it is interesting to me (and a little bit bizarre) is to think I’d be more comfortable on a Delta flight with a layover then another flight direct... I never thought I would make that choice!
Worse than other airline apps

I also use JetBlue, Finnair, British Airways, and several others and they are all more logical and easier to use than this app. Even the United app, which is no picnic, is better. Problems: Every time I want to look up something or change something on a flight I have to ‘find’ it by giving the confirmation number or other identifier. If I have two different flights booked I can only deal with one of them and if I want to even look at information for the other one I have to give the confirmation number. The moving screen advertising upgrades is annoying. There appears to be no way to see all my flights at the same time. The whole app seems very counter-intuitive. I found it difficult and time consuming to figure out where information was and how I could, for example, change seats. I surprised that most people rated this app so highly. Unless you’re all shills.

I have the Fly Delta app. Password not working, no warning that 3? 4? Wrong answers equal disabling my account. That is the message my phone showed me. The security questions are not ones I have or would or could ever have an answer for. While I am struggling with all of this(including poor cell service, which has nothing to do with you Delta, but adds up to the overall experience) I have to stop in the middle of checking in, fingers crossed her hoping it will go through with the WIFI I have available, to “Rate and Review “ my experience! I don’t know how my experience is yet!! I have not yet finished experiencing my experience! I apologize to whomever has to wade through this novel length comment. I am not trying to make anyone’s job more difficult or stressful. Perhaps a suggestion can be sent up the chain of command, think about actual user experience, before asking questions you might not like the answers to. Thank you for your consideration. M.L. Gribbin
Satisfied but still room for improvement

I enjoyed everything about the flight. While some hosts and hostesses were phenomenal, two younger hosts seemed like they could work on their people skills in handling difficult issues e.g. one lady stuck her foot in the aisle and while this was not good, he could have spoken to her more politely. I have been on Southwest and still feel like they still beat Delta in this regard. The second host when I asked for lots of cream in my tea just poured what he felt without honoring that I wanted more cream in my tea. One of the hosts was phenomenal as space ran out and people put their luggage in the overhead cabin and the customers were about to blame each other When he stepped in and resolved the conflict and made each feel like they were appreciated. This good host was the older black man.
Cancelled flight

Our flight out of Appleton was cancelled 12 hours before take off. The same flight 40 miles away still went out, but was full. And the best closet was 2 hours away. There was no good reason for the flight cancellation. They tried to rebook our flight a day later on a terrible itinerary that would’ve taken 12 hours to arrive when 4 hours was all that was needed. We opted to travel last minute 2 hours, get a hotel and fly nearly the same schedule as out originally cancelled flight out if Appleton. It cost us a hotel room, gas, parking bit we arrived to vacation on our planned day rather than a day late. There was no reason for out cancelled flight. I would like a reimbursement at least for the flight that we ended up taking that was a cheaper flight. No money was offered returned to us for the cheaper flight that ended up costing us a 4 hour round trip drive and hotel room

Have not flown with Delta since 2012, this time my flight to Florida was very upsetting, I was told he when I landed in Georgia that Delta already knew I would not make my connection, and that I was placed on standby, and that I would be in a 4 pm flight. I don’t understand how I can void and pay for a flight and Delta sets the layover schedule and has no concern for the people traveling and you think it’s ok just to alter our flight plans. I understand weather issue, but we were not told anything on our I coming flight and there was no one at out gate telling us that we were not going to make our connection, instead we run like hell to make it only to get there and be told gates are closed and now you have to wait. You need to communicate with your passengers better. I paid for my ticket , I should know what is going on.

We flew from MSP to SLC. Not only was our flight delayed due to a last minute mechanical, we had to wait for a push back cart and de ice. Lastly, the flight was not catered with snacks. We would have missed our connecting flight if the pilots were not aboard our flight. Then our son who was flying out of SFO to meet us on Jackson the next day had a flight delay. He was sent back home as there was no way you could get him into Jackson. This caused us to miss a day and 1/2 with him on a trip specifically to meet up with him. When I called you during our delay, the agent said that we could change our return flights without charge, when I called back to change out flight the other agent said no. Frustrated that we were promised something that was not true. Furthermore, the delay for our son costed him over $130 in uber charges going to and from airport. Two not positive experiences with Delta in a 24 hour period. Not a way to get return customers.
Horrible Customer Service experience

Supervisor Jackie was rude and nasty I was moved by Delta from a window seat (my stated preferences) to a middle seat and when I called (having to wait 1:30 for a call back) she told me too bad. I explained to her I wanted me original seat back and cannot fly in middle so far due to anxiety. Again told me nothing could be done, AND to stop talking bc I'm going on and on. I was so offended and she created such anxiety for me. Because delta did not accommodate me and treated me so poorly, I had to change my flight! And now landing in NYC during rush hour which will add more stress and time and cost to my trip home from the airport Big mess up delta. Very very upset and offended especially as a medallion member and a gold card user. Terrible
Horrible Experience

This was my first time flying Delta and I have been thoroughly underwhelmed!!! My ticket and reservation was lost and I spent a few hours trying to get that situation sortes, and then when I finally got that resolved I was informed when I arrived that my prepaid baggage could not be checked, because they could not find the confirmation. After getting these debacles straightened out, I was greeted at my gate with a very impersonal agent named Carla in RDU. The agent was rude and tried puprosely to be of as little help as possible. She smiled and carried on with other Delta staff who were boarding the flight, but when approached by customers she was agaitated and bothered. After all of this when I finally got on the plane my carry on which was a small bag would not fit in the overhead bin of the aircraft even though I was expressly told that it would fit perfectly. Unfortunately I have to fly back on this airline, but I have been thoroughly displeased with the service that I received!

I’d like to say hats off to the great crew on my last Delta flight from JFK to DSS. All the crew were excellent and one attendant (Aisha) was completely outstanding. Not only was she courteous and friendly, we watched her handle a several different, difficult passenger situations with grace and patience and she still showed great kindness towards the passenger(s) being difficult. On the same flight we observed her helping comfort two young mothers with children in stress. All with grace and smiles. Kudos to Aisha. Even the Captain came through the aisles and greeted and mingled with the passengers for a short while. So kudos also to Delta for maintaining and encouraging great employees. My wife and I fly a lot of miles using several airlines around the world. Delta is our favorite! GO Delta!!!
Delta is the Best

I am an international speaker and I am always comforted by knowing I will be taken care of traveling on Delta. I have in the past tried many airlines… But Delta tops them all with customer service and people that really care. I fly for my livelihood all over the globe and when I am traveling Delta which is about 95% of the time, I am at peace knowing that I will be taken care of. Even the App that is connected to Delta works flawlessly. I have been traveling with Delta since 2004 and I am very appreciative and proud did Valon to this family… They truly make you feel like family. Some features broke with latest update

I’m a Gold Medallion, so not exactly a stranger to Delta’s policies or app, and this stuff used to work just fine on the app. I’m using the newest version of the app on an iPhone XS. However, starting recently I can no longer manage my upgrade preferences for flights on the app. Which is annoying because depending on the flight and my seat assignment in coach, I may or may not want Comfort Plus. (Obviously I always want First if it’s available, but if I have an exit row window seat in coach, that’s better than a middle seat in Comfort Plus... otherwise Comfort Plus is better.) Except I can no longer manage this on the app! The “Upgrade Preferences” (or whatever it’s called) that are specific to flight segments is just gone. I also can’t email the itinerary anymore. The option is there and it makes up a nice email with the itinerary on it and I can fill in the email address(es) where I want it to go... and then there’s no “Send” button anywhere! In fact, you can’t navigate away from the un-sendable email either. Once the app generates the email... all you can do is exit the app completely. Delta: PLEASE FIX!!! I repeat: these features worked just fine for *years* and then suddenly stopped working in late 2018. I will update this review if/when the features get fixed.
The best airline app but still not perfect

I fly with my family weekly. The app makes ticketing easy. However, you can’t purchase “infant-in-lap” seats without calling customer service. That takes at least an hour. I don’t understand why it can’t be an option. It frustrates me greatly! However, I appreciate that the miles are stored and that I can use my rewards with ease. Also, one of my flights was cancelled and they notified me 12 hours in advance! That was great because I didn’t travel to the airport and I was able to make other plans. I really appreciated that! Also, I have given up on Delta’s Wi-Fi. It never ever works and when it does, it’s for like 30% of the flight or once the plane is above 10,000ft. I just plan to be away from the internet while in the air.
Good app but frustrating reloads

I like the Delta app overall. It’s pretty easy to use for ticket purchases, flight check in, changing flights or seats, contacting customer service, etc. My only complaint is it reloads the screen pretty much every time you go back to it. So during boarding you have your boarding pass up but your screen goes to sleep or you switch briefly to another app before you reach the front of the line, when you get back to the app it reverts back to the home screen before sloooowly retrieving your boarding pass while you hold up the line. Similarly if you just want to quickly pull up your boarding pass to check your gate number or boarding time, you have to wait for it to reload. None of the other airline apps I’ve used do this. Very aggravating.
Disaster

Our flight out of Minneapolis was delayed an hour and half. When we got to Atlanta, two out of five of our party sprinted to our gate. The other three of us were way back on the plane and couldn’t get off quick enough to get there on time. The two sprinters got to our gate 11 minutes before our flight was to take off. No staff was there. When the gate attendant finally showed up, she refused to let my friends on board. The other three of us got there 5 minutes before the plane was to depart. None of us were able to get on. That was the last flight of the day. The lady in customer service who was helping us after that was really rude and impatient with us. Also, the flight we were on was so full that we were made to check our carry on luggage, so we had nothing with us for sleeping over. Therefore, some of us were left without our necessary medication.
Does not do as they promise

I spent over 45 min on the phone while the representative helped me use miles to upgrade my flight to first class....I verbally confirmed with her numerous times that the amount of miles she quoted would upgrade myself and my co-traveler to first class for the flight to our destination as well as our return flight. Upon getting ready to check in I see our seats are in row 34....not quite first class. After waiting 2 hours for a call back to rectify this I was met with a “sorry, you should have checked on this”. The reps supervisor instructed the rep to let me know it was my fault, even through I had confirmed (again multiple times with the rep that did the upgrade a month ago). There were 3 open seats in first class at the time of this call and delta offered no help in this situation. For a customer that flys often forbvoth work and vacation they sure helped me make my next flight not be on delta.

Jullian in AF-Cincinnati is a very route supervisor. She told me she was as high up as I could go and that she does not have a supervisor. I hung up on her and I called back & a regular representative helped me a little bit more than her. Delta had us booked in row 11 myself ,my 2year-old & my 7 year-old. I called 4 times each time I was on hold for over 40 minutes. They moved us into separate seats away from each other. Somehow they separated my daughters reservation from mine and my sons. I sent Facebook messages emails reviews online with my phone number and no response. They moved our flight because I had surgery which is really nice of them but they said we were in row 11 and then they changed us ! I offered to pay for an upgrade they denied me and said there was no seats available. So I went on the website and tried to book a new flight what do you know plenty of seats are still available on that flight!
