HOW IT WORKS Most aircraft today are equipped with ADS-B transponders that transmit positional data. Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of 20,000 ground stations to receive this data that then shows up as aircraft moving on a map in the app. In an expanding number of regions, with the help of multilateration, we’re able to calculate the positions of aircraft that don’t have ADS-B transponders. Coverage is subject to change at any time. CONNECT WITH FLIGHTRADAR24 We love getting feedback on FR24. Nice to be able to follow our fire fighting planes , so we know when they come back to the base to reload.
Doesn’t Work
by Tommy Hyde on 2020/07/06 14:26
I’ve loaded the app several times to use, with no luck. I also tried the pay version again same results. When I’m using it the planes show up in the far left corner of my screen so your unable to see any information. I’ve tried different settings but still the same results, so I gave up and canceled the service.
a lot of advertising
by Aerodrom1987 on 2020/07/06 12:58
It is impossible to use the application, developers, as always, want as much money as possible - in this regard, the application has lost its value. One advertisement, this is not an application - it is a bright sign in the night like on Broadway.

Forced to repurchase features I already bought
by Yooohioooo on 2020/06/30 17:46
I bought the original flightradar24 app in 2014. Amazing App, lots of fun for the fam. This new app is crap. Despite already buying the full app, this new version forces you to a SAAS model with monthly fees to get the same features I already paid for. Plus this app seems to miss most commercial and private live flight tracking? Very disappointed, definitely lost me as a customer.

by ChipGottier! on 2020/06/29 02:18

Amazing app if you’re interested in aviation
by Backstroker36 on 2020/06/27 03:07
I had this app for a while now. This app is absolutely awesome for aviation geeks like myself. The app is so simple to use. Sure, it’s great for tracking a delayed flight, but it’s also great just for browsing airplanes at your local airport. It’s cool to see all the different planes on the ground at the airport at one time. I’ve tried other similar sites before like flight aware, this one blows all of those out of the water.

I love this app because it’s very organized and it’s very interesting to actually be able to see where each plane is headed. I really like how you can check out airports not only in the United States but all across the globe. I especially enjoy looking at airports in Ethiopia, my home country.

Purchased over a year ago
by Montana721 on 2020/06/20 15:26
I purchased flightradar over a year ago in the store. It was a one time fee, which I paid. Now, all of a sudden it is monthly and my previous one time purchase doesn’t count? Great app, but a little loyalty for those who got you started would have been nice. Maybe reconsider how you treat your customers. And a pre-note for the developers response that has not yet arrived. YOUR EXCUSES ARE GARBAGE! I have been reading the priors and all they say is, “we put our customers first.” But you actions show otherwise.
One of the best aviation apps
by TC Le Cyclist on 2020/06/20 02:03
This app, which tracks commercial and civil traffic around the world in real time, is indispensable for any fan of aviation or even someone who wants to track the progress of family or friends on board a flight. Clicking on an airplane’s image gives the user in-depth information about the the specific airplane used for the flight. I highly recommend this app.
Great, but still waiting for navigation airways in playback mode.
by Rainy_days_and_Mondays on 2020/06/19 16:59
Been enjoying the gold plan for years now.it is a great app! My biggest issue is Im still waiting for high/low airway navaid charts to be added to the playback map just like they are included in the live map. As a serious flight simmer, this app is essential for helping to follow/replicate real world flight paths as pilots are often given deviations by ATC that differ from the published flight plan. Using the High and Low altitude charts we can easily see the new waypoints ATC directed the pilot to fly to. In some countries the flight plan is not published, so we can use these navaids to reconstruct the flight plan for our sim flight. HOWEVER, this is only possible with live flights—which is a real let down. Most of the flights simmers I know fly are not live but recent and since the playback map does not have navaids, its pretty much useless except for checking which gate to park. *Please add navaid charts to playback map. Otherwise, thank you for such a fun and informative app!

Extremely upset
by Chunkadunkk on 2020/06/19 05:04
So I originally got this app years ago when it first came out. I paid a lot of money when I first got this app to show the difference between planes and helicopters and it would show the size and the airline company it was on the map. I don’t remember what I paid, but now I don’t get any of that I have to pay again. I’m extremely upset and I want my originally money back when I first downloaded the app before you requested a subscription. I will email developers.
Good but needs more past flights.

by Crosser girl on 2020/06/11 02:28
This app gives you an amazing view of the world! I’m becoming aware of flight patterns. Planning a trip to and around Europe, and I think this will help. It also provides me useful info about local events. I watched 3 helicopters circle like wasps around our Capitol Mall as protesters hung out there. Nice to know if you see on FB that something is going on in my neighborhood, I can see if the police helicopter is out.

Good Ap now full of ads
by HiJet on 2020/06/09 00:43
I bought this App a while back and paid for it to not have any ads. The developer refreshed the app a while back and forced everyone on to the new platform. Sales exact stuff just slightly different graphics. Now the new app is full of ads and diminishes the experience. I contacted the developer but they said tough, the new app has adds unless you want to sign up for a yearly subscription. I paid for it once, I’m not paying again. Bait and switch if you ask me. I would find another app unless you like lots of ads.

by TFD44 on 2020/05/18 19:55
This app went from best to worst in just the last few months! Other than the 3D view which they never got to work correctly, the app was excellent, overall. Greed then took over which added advertising OR pay a monthly fee, forever. Don’t accommodate them by paying any money and avoid using this app whenever possible. The developer responded with the standard response we have all seen before. They are just following the Microsoft subscription model. Simply stated, PAY TO PLAY❗️Very disappointing ‼️

The refresh is not as good
by Tom New Orleans on 2020/05/17 23:22
The refresh of the app is slow and lagging. It also doesn’t shoe the total amount of flights in the air for both what you are looking at and in the world like the old app did. It would have been interesting to see with the pandemic going on. Please fix!

Pilot Must Have
by Renderfi on 2020/05/16 19:36
This app has gotten better with every release. If you are a pilot or a super nerd aviation enthusiast this is the app for you. If you also get the app for monitoring aviation radio communications it becomes even more fun. Watch the plane fly it’s route and monitor approach or departure frequencies and try to pick out the plane your following. I have a private pilot license and this have a backup VHF radio..sometimes I will monitor my local airport, watch planes coming over my house and listen to radio communications until they land. It’s super fun for us aviation nerds. It also helps get familiar with local approaches for IFR flying by allowing you to watch the aircrafts flight track. This can be super helpful when flying for real. Great job on the app guys!! Work on importing a higher resolution cockpit view and showing more ground details. GREAT APP!! fun app. When you fly commercially and have internet access on the flight, fairly standard these days, it’s cool to hear you own pilot work his way through heaven traffic. Now the radio monitoring app may not have all the handoff radio frequencies, but you know they will eventually be handed off to tower..:-) happy flying to all!!

Pretty noyce with a couple caveats
by Ftyropek on 2020/05/14 23:49
This app is quite good. I live near a major airport and it’s helpful on planespotting trips to see which wide bodies are coming. Wish some of the primo features were free, though. Either way, you still get a good amount of features standard.

Pure scam and Huge disappointment
by Jakesasson on 2020/05/13 05:49
As a previous customer that have already payed for the old app, I feel scammed that now I need to pay again to use that app without ads. And please save those tales and stories about the “new features”. It was just an excuse for you to shut down the old app that many people payed for already, and open the exact same app with “extra features” so you can charge people again. This app has one main purpose which is to track airplanes, and I have payed for that like many others. So now you want me to pay again for the main purpose of the app + extra feature that I don’t use. You want to make a profitable app, fine, At least treat your old customers that helped you get to this point with respect and offer them on the “new” app what they have already payed for, Because that 3 month trial that you are offering is a total joke. I am very disappointed and have no other way to call this but a total scam. Your greediness just led to a loss of another customer.

Callous to their previous pro users and tone deaf
by Matt.Penn on 2020/05/11 21:52
Reading the developer responses to justifiably upset users who paid to unlock pro features, only to be told their pro app is retired and they need to start over again and pay a monthly fee to maintain the same level of features is disingenuous. The “we’re sorry you feel that way” and “We hope you’ll see all the value the subscription offers you” lines were particularly galling and serve only to patronize and dismiss the customer’s legitimate complaints.

Awesome
Surprisingly good for the free version!
by BookerTAS on 2020/05/09 19:55
Interesting to use, as I’m near a small airport and under the flight paths of larger commercial airlines. The only negative (and it’s not significant) is how many flights list “N/A” for the origin of the flight when you can clearly see it by the line showing from where it came. Other than that, no complaints. While sitting outside, my girlfriend will often point at a passenger jet and ask, “where do you think that’s going?” I usually make up something unlikely. Now I can tell her for certain!
GIVE SUPPORT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL APP
by Glitchy647 on 2020/05/09 06:17
Everything on the original was perfect. Just leave it as it was, with the service up. Was my go-to flight tracker for everything, purchased all of the expansions and everything. It’s not about losing $3 or whatever, it’s about having the functionality I want from the original application. Just restore service to the old app please. It was perfect the way it was.
Bait and switch
by MrBultitude on 2020/05/08 21:52
It is a great app but you should’ve given previous purchasers an option to at least keep using the previous version. There is no excuse for deliberately cutting them off like this. I am considering contacting Apple separately about this kind of behavior.

I work in the aviation industry and bought the original app years ago as I love the product. They now stopped giving us the app that we purchased in order to try to force us to pay the subscription charge by giving us "enhanced features". What if we were just happy with what we had? Now the radio monitoring app may not have all the handoff radio frequencies, but you know they will eventually be handed off to tower..:-) happy flying to all!!
✈️aviation enthusiast or not - get this app✈️
by jhouseal on 2019/10/27 22:46
Non-avgeeks and avgeeks read - there’s stuff for both of you! I’m an aviation enthusiast and i have been for too long to remember (3-4 ish years) I got this app when there was a lite and a pro version a long time ago. Having experimented with the lite version, i upgraded. The reason for me telling you this is that i have experience with this app - Anyway this app is really great, especially his version. Easy to use, not slow or laggy (unless you zoom out to the whole Earth), and it is great overall. Click on a plane and it will give you route, type of plane, departure city and arrival city along with times, flight time, previous and future flights of the plane you clicked on, general line of the route, and a bunch of other great stuff. There is a subscription plan to get even more info about aircarft age, ATC data, and other avgeek stuff. You can check your flight times and see where your plane came from, search random flights and know info about them (if i searched PHL- JFK it would give me a list of different flight numbers from all the airlines that service the route). This app is really great especially for aviation enthusiasts. In addition to everything above - it allows us to know what is arriving what day and when, what’s departing, wind info and runway info. Incredible for planespotting Definitely get this app.
Bait and switch
by Outsidrm on 2018/04/02 15:54
I was extremely happy with the app as I paid for it before the subscriptions were in effect to remove ads and unlock all the features. I had shared the app with many others touting how many amazing features it had. Now I feel I’ve been cheated because even though I paid for all those features to be unlocked, I’m back to a free version essentially and have to pay a subscription if I want ad free and all the features unlocked. It’s wrong to treat the consumers that put money into your app before it got as popular as it is now. Update*** 4-2-18 I still feel cheated, the amount of users that are asking for cross platform compatibility is minimal. Anyone using iOS can re-download via previous purchases to use the original paid app on iPhone or iPad. Most users that use iOS are not asking for cross compatibility as they prefer the Apple echo system. The bare minimum you as developers could of done for your supporters that started your success by buying the original app is giving complimentary ad free option to those that purchased the original pro app. The subscription based model just spits in the face of those that brought you success. What about when iOS changes their file system again in the future and the original paid app is no longer supported. Those that paid are just out of luck?
Flight Radar
by Aquamisty on 2020/04/17 19:07
My previous version of FR24 was much better than the new version. In 3D view, pertinent flight data were displayed and constantly updated on screen especially track, altitude, speed and vertical speed. Track was especially helpful to know which runway was chosen. The new version shows none of the flight data on screen requiring having to leave the 3D view. These data should be displayed on screen like the old version. The new 3D view has a much slower response on my iPhone (6S) and terrible color display with the runway and highways appearing washed out while with terrible detail. The new version should be updated to provide the option to view the old version display along with the new 3D view. This app would be great if the 3D display could more accurately track a plane especially while landing. My experience is that the view shows the plane landing along the runway centerline about one in ten landings. Most landings are left and occasionally right of the runway and frequently too high. The creators of this app would get my highest praise if the landing accuracy could be improved. With the suggested changes and improvements, this app would be my favorite.
Goodbye Flight Aware Hello Flightradar24!
by Kalei75 on 2018/01/13 03:47
I’m an aviation geek and loved Flight Aware but for the longest time, I always wished I could know the tail numbers and registration information of an aircraft I was viewing from my lanai. I would often go online, look up all of the registration numbers of a particular aircraft in a fleet and try to find which one I was looking at. I remarked to a friend of mine how I would look up these aircraft and that’s when he introduced me to this app. Now I can easily point my iPad or iPhone at an approaching or departing aircraft and find that information. I also love the feature of being able to see recent and past photos of that very same aircraft! Just a remarkable, easy to use app! I’d HIGHLY recommend this app to ANYONE that’s an aviation geek like me or for someone a lot more advanced such as pilots, ground crew and flight crew.
Rip off!
by Fototico on 2018/09/27 22:47
Hey developer, how about if you let people that paid you use the new app ads free and with the same basic functions we had in the paid app we purchased? Even if all the other new features do not work. That is OK. Give me what I paid for and I’ll be happy. I don’t need the new features, whatever those are. - I purchased the original Flight Radar. Me and others made it possible through our purchase of the app to get the app to where it is today. Now greed has taken over the developer and they want a month or yearly subscription. Hey refund the money you took for the original app and we’ll call it even. How about that? To add insult to injury, they are offering a “free” three month subscription to their service. Really? No sweetie, it is not “free,”it cost us what we paid for the app. I do have to give the greedy developer credit for at least giving us old timers at least three months of “free” service. Because unlike other developers that have become greedy, at least they gave us three months rather than just giving us the finger.
If your a plane spotter, you need this app
by RefuseKid15 on 2018/07/15 22:20
Flightradar24 is an outstanding app for those who have a love for aviation or an average business traveler who wants to keep track of their flight’s departure and arrival times. And anyone in between. Personally, I’m a plane spotter, it’s one of my favorite hobbies, and having the power to track in bound flights and departure times at any airport on Earth in my own hands whenever I want is just incredible and super handy. And this app does more than simply track flights, it tells you their altitude, speed, heading, distance and time from destination, it tells you a specific aircrafts age, when it was built, and an aircraft’s history of recent flights, as well as give you alerts on specific flights that you can personally select with your finger tips.
Option to hide sidebar; hold focus
by LAX20531 on 2017/12/05 22:26
I love everything about this app. It definitely can consume a lot of time depending on your interests. I paid for the Gold option and feel the app differentiates itself more than its closest competitor. Enhancement request: The ability to hold focus on a selected and temporarily slide or suppress the sidebar. I love the sidebar but it does consume a lot of space so having a toggle for this would be helpful. Finally I’d remiss if neglected to see the negative reviews from those who previously purchased the app. It is not reasonable to expect an app purchase is tantamount to a lifetime license including all upgrades. There are real costs associated with development and operating costs for data, systems. and support. That’s capitalism at work. I’d much rather pay for the app than see it go away. The devs set their pricing based on its value and the competing marketplace.
In a word, “Wow”!
by Mr_Movie on 2018/05/10 17:57
I was curious about all the noise I was hearing caused by low flying commercial aircraft overhead. I discovered this app in the process of researching airport flight information. The free version of the app is amazing. I can identify what is flying over, how high it’s flying, where it is coming from and where it is going. Hats off to the developers! The “bummer” is that if you want to unlock some of the other cool features you have pay for a subscription. I would gladly pay a few dollars for this app, maybe more, but the subscription model is deal breaker for me (-1 star for that). Others have commented that the app could be purchased outright in the past and the subscription service is relatively new. I know businesses need to make money, but a subscription is not cool with an “app” in my book.
great app! some suggestions
by _ricq_ on 2018/07/04 14:32
this new Flightradar24 is a great improvement over the previous version, the “AR”-style feature is useful, especially with lots of traffic and low visibility for IDing aircraft, the 3D view is a strange waste of space imho. some suggestions: as a Ramp Agent at an airport, I track several flights at once. it would be useful to have a bookmarks-type folder or list where I can add several flights to track and switch between quicky, without having to re-search or go through search history. perhaps also having the featue of adding my own notes, such as parking locations, who is assigned to duty, etc. also useful would be the ability to sort said flights in this hypothetical folder by distance, STA, ETA, etc.
Ads make app unusable
by NnnIIiiCCKKk on 2019/01/10 02:51
The app is by far the best at tracking planes, and being able to filter by airport, airline, equipment, etc. my favorite is the option for arrivals only as well as departures from specific airports. Now to the bad: while I’m perfectly fine with the ads, got to get paid somehow. There is one major design flaw, when you use the search button to filter, when tracking your intended flight on the live view map. The banner on the top blocks the menu buttons on the top, meaning your only option is to force quit the app every time instead of using the back button behind the ad. Maybe that was the purpose but ads aren’t supposed to break the app which this doing. Upgrades are supposed to entice you gain more information with in the app; not make it work how it was intended.
If tracking a flight is all you need...
by KainhaCC on 2018/04/22 05:47
...then this app is for you! I downloaded this app when my children traveled abroad for their vacation. Being the over-concerned person/mom that I am, I thought I’d feel a *little* better knowing where they were while in flight. Did it help calm my nerves? You betcha! Was I less concerned that they were so far away from me and that there was nothing I could do about it? Not a chance! I was really impressed with how accurate the information was. For instance, for one flight it said it would land 20 min early than the ETA from the airline so (naturally) I called them as soon as the app said the plane had landed and they called me back within 5 min! Satisfied! 👍🏻
Love it
by Noah3739 on 2019/04/03 14:27
I love this app! I live right next to the Grand Rapids airport, so I like to see what plane I’m looking at. It tells you all kinds of info like type, flight plan, tail number, and airline. Although sometimes the AR doesn’t work great, because I can see a plane, but it says it’s in a completely different direction. One thing I would like to see on this app would be plane crashes highlighted. Other than that, it’s a fantastic app. One more thing, I want have a filter for flight diversions. Okay, so the AR is working much better now, and O figured out that emergencies are highlighted. But, one thing I want next would be to see reports of what’s going on if at all possible on the emergencies.
iPhone ok...iPad no way
by BaubR on 2019/08/09 21:22
This app was clearly written for the iPhone. When you use the iPad in portrait mode, the flight information takes up the whole left-hand side of the screen which gives you half of the screen for the map. If you get rid of the flight information box on the left-hand side of the screen, you stop tracking your flight. Why the developers didn’t allow you the ability to slide up and down the aircraft information to show it or hide it and give you almost a full screen of the map, as they did on the iPhone, is a great question. If they did that, my reading for the iPad version would go to a 4 or even a 5. Thus, my two star rating is for the iPad version and I would give it a four for the iPhone version. I guess the intent is not to have you be able to look at a large view on an iPad.
Amazing!!!
by Batman2287 on 2018/10/03 04:36
What an amazing app! I followed my wife’s flight all the way to DIA and even watched her taxi to the gate. I knew she was at Concourse A. I knew when she stopped because her speed reached zero. Sure enough, she let me know she was there right at that moment. I also knew the flight was going to be early because it tells you when the plane will arrive as you follow it. This app is awesome and it is very accurate and in real time!!! Great Job on this app! I wish it was one price to upgrade instead of subscriptions. I would pay for it but I won’t do subscriptions. I don’t know if you can have an alert set when the plane lands, but that would be an awesome feature. Thanks!!!
Great App
by MOMS SUNSHINE GIRL on 2019/06/06 04:44
I’m sure happy I discovered this. I love aviation and it’s so nice to be able to see what planes are flying in my area. My niece is a flight attendant and it’s a lot of fun to see her land and take off at the various locations. Also, the other night my dad who lives outside of Las Vegas was watching plane after plane fly in to McCarran airport - or the string of diamonds as it is often called. I was able to look on the app and tell him the description and size of each plane that was flying overhead that he could see, as well as the ones coming. We both had a lot of fun and he called the next night and wanted to do it again. There are so many advantages to having the app and these are just a few. I also appreciate being able to be alerted when a plane has in emergency situation. It would be nice to know what the emergency is but at least this is nice to have. It seems to freeze occasionally when planes are landing or taking off but overall seems to be very accurate. I’ve tried other aviation apps and this seems to meet my needs the best.
Personal ATC
by SKA350 on 2019/01/06 18:54
For someone who has more than a passing interest in aircraft, this is a must. I know the display “jumps” from time to time (install your own radar on the roof maybe), and it doesn’t tell you “everything” about “every” aircraft but if ya go out to the airport sometime (Dallas/Fort Worth) you can see the aircraft coming from Tulsa and Tulagi, from St. Louis (MO) and Saint Petersburg (Russia). I live 9 DME on the Ft. Worth (FTW) Localizer. It’s interesting to know who’s landing (and who doesn’t have the needle centered) when I’m outside working in the yard and just sitting on the patio having a beer I turn the iPad orienting to North and can see everybody in that portion of sky. OK, maybe I need to get a “life” but this is a fun Ap!
Too many advertisements
by Closetmonst3r on 2019/02/24 15:20
I fell in love with this app years ago and paid (don’t remember how much) for the ad free version, which was a one time payment. Fast forward a few years and Flightradar24 updates/upgrades their app to a subscription based model and plasters their app with advertisements. I realize they need to make money but what happened to my payment I made? Basically they tossed all of us loyal users (who paid) out the window. They didn’t even offer some sort of discounted upgrade for people who already paid for their original app. I, in my opinion, feel they made a mistake in doing this. First, I’m sure the majority of Flightradar24 users are aviation enthusiasts, which means we enjoy using the app but by no means need to pay for increased functionality. I’m not even sure who WOULD need to pay monthly, for ever, to use this app. I certainly can’t justify paying even a couple dollars a month (it’s more than that for their lowest monthly subscription), to use their app maybe, on average, 2 times a month. I decided to give a review and give one star, when I opened up the app this morning and was greeted with a full page ad, not just a rotating ad banner on top or bottom. I hope this review makes it to Flightradar24 HQ and they rethink their revenue model.
Airline Pilot recommended!
by AAL787 on 2018/12/31 15:29
I absolutely love this app. I’m a captain on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the largest airline in the world. To see and use this technology is so enjoyable and engaging. No matter where you are you can look up at the sky and be able to see what kind of airplane is flying overhead and where it’s going. The additional flight parameters and information are also entertaining to see. When I’m waiting for an inbound flight I can quickly check its position to coordinate my own outbound preparations. If I could make any improvements to this app I would create the ability to tag a future outbound flight to text me any delay notifications. I’d also create the ability to tag specific outbound airline and fleet so I’ll know if all of the airplanes of my fleet and base have departed or are delayed. It would help when I’m on call and could prepare for possible re-crewing of an aircraft. In any case, the developers of this app have done an absolutely wonderful and commendable job and I happily send my regards and compliments on a job well done!
Great information
by Greg DoubleU on 2019/09/13 07:19
I’ve often found myself struggling to remember how to get Siri to show me a list of nearby aircraft. Now, I don’t have to! It’s all here. Since I’m not a pilot, I don’t know if there’s more info than what I have here in this app, but I’m satisfied to see what details I do have access to. It’s a great way to check out what’s visible and get to familiarize myself with recurring flights. The only details I haven’t found yet is more specs on the particular aircraft, like the normal # of crew onboard and max passenger capacities. I also enjoy knowing the max speed and altitude. Short of those, I’ve found everything I know about! Great app! To me, worth the cost!
I am likely leaving this app
by jdawgnoonan on 2018/06/06 21:22
I have enjoyed using the version of this app that I paid for, but I am not interested in paying a subscription of $0.83 a month just to get rid of ads. I do not care about all of the features, I just like seeing the radar. I am insulted by the lack of an ad free version that I can pay less for to just access the radar. $0.83 a month is more than I am willing to pay for that, since I do not care about the other features and I only used this app a few times a year anyway, therefore I will be getting rid of an app that I have enjoyed when I did use it. I do not allow ad supported apps to exist on my device. I am giving you three stars because your app is good, but I am disappointed and would like to give you two.
Favorite app!
by Nathanielllll on 2018/05/02 01:18
I love this app. I geek out with it all the time, causing much embarrassment to my wife in front of friends. App correctly identifies planes and helicopters every time. Flight and plane history is super interesting, and it's a great app to have while traveling as you're able to see where your plane is even when it's several legs away. If you want to know what you saw from the plane on your trip, use the flight playback to see exactly where you went. The uses for this app are endless for nerds like me. Only suggestion: flight playback map currently only has a satellite view. Please add options for hybrid or standard map views!
Need to change weather settings
by eepisski on 2018/02/05 16:57
Good app. Noticed barometric pressure is in hpa. Wonder if could change to inches of mercury. Also, we have a lot of regular small aircraft, carry about 10-20 people flying over. I live by the Mackinac Bridge. Mackinac island is 5 miles out in Lake Huron, currently lake is frozen, so have flights flying people back and forth from county airport to island airport. Wondering if developers could show smaller aircraft as know they show drones in some areas. We do have bigger airports in Pellston and Sault ste Marie which are 20 and 50 miles away respectively. During winter months Mackinac County Airport in St. Ignace is busier than Pellston and Chippewa County airports combined.
Used to work
by linleyj on 2019/04/11 06:37
I have been extremely happy with this app until about a month ago. I thought the problem was with something on my end because I would load the app and it would show no planes in my area. I would move the map a little to view Houston and it would show none (which never happens). I uninstalled and reinstalled the app thinking it was a glitch. It fixed it for a little while but I am now having the problems again. It used to allow me see what kind of helicopters were flying over and now more than half the time not even all planes show up. I pay for the gold version because I enjoy getting to see what’s going on but now it seems I am just throwing the money away. When I attempted to “contact the developer” by clicking that option it took me to a website that didn’t work either!
Great app
by ajj093 on 2019/01/12 07:33
I use the app for work since I work at the airport, having the notifications when the plane leaves (notification must be set up specifically for certain flights like tail number or flight number or airline company) is a awesome feature, knowing where the plane is when it’s taxing is a huge plus. Of course there’s a little lag between the plane and the phone showing it’s location but over time it’s been getting better. If only you can upload pictures of planes instead of going to the 2nd website they use and uploading pictures there.
Great app....but!
by Mrneely357 on 2018/01/03 21:55
I think this is a wonderful app. I have used it on many many occasions because I am an airplane enthusiast and I like to go down to the airport and watch planes fly in and fly out. When I am about to fly for vacation I can definitely count on finding out if my plane is on time or delayed or when I have Friends or family flying in I can track their flights coming from their destination. But, the only thing that really frustrates me is when I use the 3-D view how buggy it is when it gets down to the airplane about to land somewhere around two or 3000 feet and the app either Locks up or the airplane goes nuts and is all over the map. That aspect is very buggy. Could u please look into a fix for that. Thank you!
Did the upgrade, had the newest version
by 123bob897 on 2018/11/22 00:28
So I did the upgrade, and had the latest paid version and paid for the Silver. It gave me the high resolution 3D showing the cockpit view and the view just behind the aircraft. Really slick, loved it. A few days later my iPhone showed I had App Store upgrades available on a few of my apps, including FlightRadar. So I did the upgrades. It upgraded my FlightRadar back to my original FlightRadar24. I no longer have the enhanced features of the paid version, which I assume I’m still paying for. Whats going on here? Likewise when I go to iTunes it doesn’t show I’m paying for anything. It seemed to have reset everything back to the free version. Really disappointed in your product.
Good Value For Aviation Enthusiests
by carterandkevin on 2019/03/08 15:07
This app is free and it is fantastic. Easy to use and 90% accurate which is very good. Now if you are a diehard aviation enthusiast, get the paid subscription which provides you with more juicy flight data which is well worth it. I actually had my parents use the app so that when I flew home, they would have an idea to where I was. They absolutely loved it! This app was designed by passionate developers who wanted to simply deliver a good app to anyone. My only suggestion would be to include the planned runway for which the airplane plans to land on. Otherwise, just fantastic.
Would like to see another particular filter...
by cdw25si on 2019/09/16 14:43
I have had the paid version of this app on IOS for a few years and do love the app. I live in an area where we have the only level 1 trauma center for up to 250 miles. I am also a Firefighter/Paramedic and have flown in medical helo’s. I would love to see a filter where in the app you can select the type of aircraft to watch include in it an option for various makes of helicopters like the Eurocopter H130, H135, H145, Bell 429, and other Bell medivac helo’s. I’m also having problems with being alerted for the aircraft I have saved in alerts. Otherwise I love the app. I use it in conjunction with scanners and the Live ATC app.
Terrific Support
by StanSien on 2019/07/04 02:03
I love this app for all the information it provides about flights. One of the best features is the augmented reality where you can lift your phone to the sky and it shows the flights above and then you can click to find out more. For some reason it started not to work. I contacted support and within the next day I had my answer. Seems my settings on the phone changed and after a few clicks I was back to observing the flights in my neighborhood. Love the Pro version. Worth the price and I like to know I support the developers.
Imagination Becomes Reality
by IHMJr on 2019/04/29 01:27
Every since I was a kid I would see a plane in the sky and always wonder/imagine, -where is that plane going, and where is it coming from?-. I no longer have to wonder/imagine. This app is so much fun! Living in a metropolitan area with two major airport, planes are constantly flying overhead. I sit in my backyard during the evenings and know everything about the aircrafts overhead (airline, destination, ground speed, elevation, model). The free version of this app is more than rewarding. I’ve purchased the silver package, and have been very with it’s features.
Way of the World
by iloveiphone123 on 2019/06/28 14:17
I purchased this app when you bought a full subscription before the “member levels”. Before developers were able to charge higher cyclic prices. The early days of Apple. 99 cent apps to 3.99 apps, never more than 9.99 one time charge. When apps were making life more easy for users while the big bucks weren’t making someone wealthy. Of course, this was not really the way of this world. No...just early in the iphone app era. Commercialism has set in now...great apps are charging subscription fees...its becoming big business...and everyday users looking for information apps to make life a bit easier or entertaining have to pay the subscription fees. Always comes down to money. I used to love this app along with others....just pitiful.
Love Watching the Planes Flying Overhead
by Sunshine33694 on 2018/06/26 18:00
For years I wondered about the planes flying over my home. Where were they going? Where were the coming from? Then I found this app, and I have loved it since the moment I found it. Not only do I now have those answers, I also know what type of jet it is, the altitude, etc. I mostly see jets from Europe and the USA, but also see planes from Asia, and occasionally elsewhere. Every day I get a great geography lesson. On days I get no planes, I miss them! And when guests come over, I pull out my app, and we all enjoy the travel lesson from above!
Love this app.
by CaptainLyday on 2020/04/07 21:37
Hello. I really LOVE this app! I use this app mutiple times a day and it is so cool to trick my friends into wondering how I know that a plane is flying over their house. There is just one feature that I really wish could be in the app. It would be so cool if we could filter timetables at airports to a certain airline or aircraft. If im looking for something specific at a busy airport like ATL, it would take me forever to scroll through the entire thing just to find one flight. I would truly enjoy this filter feature and use it quite often.
How to treat your customers
by fishbomb3r on 2020/04/26 15:15
Dear Developers, In business you have to treat your customers with respect. There are many other one star ratings due to your decision to change to a subscription model. You probably had good reason. Maybe the free data that you get from the Government wasn’t good enough for you. Maybe, like Accuweather (check out Last Week Tonight), you thought the value you add to this public data was far beyond what everyone else does. Maybe your data feed, which continues to cost less than when you started, was starting to starting to strain under the features you kept adding. That’s fine. Whatever it was, there were those of us in the traveling public who paid for an app that no longer functions. Now, I’m not saying that I want to start a class action against you with what appears to be several thousand others. What I am saying is that you have an opportunity to make things right first. We, your loyal users, who have recommended your app in airports, bars and disgusting rental cars from Fox Rental Car deserve better. Please return our function version without ads. Thanks
Great but one more thing
by Victor Demartini on 2017/11/12 13:54
Flightradar24 is such an amazing app. It has allowed me to expand my knowledge infinitely about the active aviation world. The amount of aspects the app has is fantastic and keeps me coming back to it day after day. Although I do miss one feature. Before the large update, there was an aircraft counter showing you how many aircraft were on your screen, and it adapted to when you moved around the map and when you enabled filters. If this feature could be added that would be great!
THE...AIRPLANE....APP....TO....OWN!
by texasmorrell on 2020/03/23 20:17
I rarely write reviews of apps but this time I simply must. If you are an airplane enthusiast you must own this app. I play with it for hours on end. I can verify in real time what I’m seeing on the news. This thing is so detailed I can watch airplanes take off and land and even see helicopters and airport ground vehicles. I can even see actual photos of the aircraft I’m tracking. This is the most entertaining app I have ever seen and it’s not even an entertainment app. I can’t say it enough. Get this app just for the heck of it.
Very helpful
by Disney HD on 2018/08/26 12:45
My family flies 2-4 times each month and fly out of airports that are 30 minutes to 2 hours from home. This app is very helpful to us when checking the flights and especially inbound connecting flights. We fly one particular flight that comes from across the country with 3 stops prior to getting to our departure airport and is delayed 41+ minutes 38% of the time. It’s helpful to follow these types of flights from the start of the day and plan our airport drive accordingly.

I downloaded this app yesterday morning around 6am on my brand new 3 month old iPhone XS Max, 256gb. I opened the app and checked it out for a few minutes, closed it and set my phone down and didn’t touch it again until around 1:45, 8hours 45min later. When I picked it up and swiped up to unlock my phone it started glitching out. Apps were all over the place flashing and jumping around, my phone froze up and completely died and wouldn’t boot up. After 30 min on chat with tech support they gave up and are replacing it. I’m not 100% sure it was the app that killed my phone but it was the last thing I did on it before it completely died... Coincidence? Has anyone else had this happened to them?
Flight Emergency Notifications
by Fred Herrman on 2019/12/18 19:02
One thing I would like added is for the user to be able to turn on notifications of flight emergencies in specific areas. For example, a toggle that you could adjust be radial miles from your location (within 500 miles of my location, etc), and another setting for areas away from you, such as by state. The latter would be for when you’re vacationing in Wyoming, but want to know of any emergencies happening near Los Angeles.
Fascinating
by Ababykitty on 2019/07/26 19:43
This is my first time using this app and it's fascinating. Since I live in walking distance of the flight path, I'm always curious as to where the flight is coming from, the airline, etc. This app not only shows me the flight, where it's coming from and much more info, it gives me a photo of the plane. I just tracked a plane coming in from the north, but was to land facing north. It then showed where it would be banking over my house to face north and head towards the airport. Sure enough!
Old App Alternative no longer supported!
by Hechtr on 2020/04/04 23:06
Today I logged into my app to see that it no longer works! I was using the old app because I’m a original user who paid to have features added and my account no longer works with the new app. Now I have to pay to get adds removed again? No thank you. Like so many others have said, you should have created a version for people with the old app with the same features as a thank you for all of us handing you money to grow as big as you have. You are greedy in this regard. Plain and simple. Good luck getting more of my money at this point or having me recommend your app to anybody else!
Available info waning
by Cop man someockv on 2019/07/24 12:56
When I initially started using this app it was chocked full of information on each individual aircraft I wanted to track. Over the last several months there has been less and less information available when I tap on a specific plane. Gone half the time now are the airports of departure and destination, photos of the aircraft, description of the aircraft, etc. Often times the icons don’t even match the aircraft. I’ll tap on what is obviously a small prop plane and I’ll get a picture of a 737 and vice a versa. It’s getting to the point where the app needs to be renamed FLIGHT N/A!
It’s a plane!
by Redvern5 on 2019/05/01 13:54
I love this app. I was at a picnic last summer and a friend was pointing to planes flying over and could tell us where the plane was headed and from where. I was hooked! We live in a busy air corridor. FlightTracker24 is almost constant entertainment. I watched a plane my friend was on leave Louisville on time recently and I followed it all the way to Baltimore. I also like to watch NA plane flights and track where they originated. Many are from places like Romania! I feel like a spy! Anyway, thank you for all the fun!
Must Have for Aviation Enthusiasts
by cfc27 on 2019/10/16 12:38
This has been one of my favorite apps over the years. I’ll see a plane pass overhead and wonder where they’re going. Wonder no more. I can quickly open this app and see origin, destination, and more. Great interface, easy to use, couldn’t be happier. Only suggestion I have is either integration with myFlightradar or a separate app. Would be great to be able enter info from the app and not have to go to mobile website.
GREAT APP FOR AVIATION ENTHUSIASTS
by Avo85 on 2018/12/11 01:46
As a gold service subscriber, this is the best app on the App Store to spot planes on the go. There’s not 1 day in which I never use this app. I have to open it everyday to see inbound and outbound planes from my nearest airport. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because it’s poorly optimized for the new 11” iPad. It doesn’t take advantage of the full screen leaving black bezels on the top and bottom screen, which is quite annoying. Other than that, if this app is updated to take advantage of the new iPad screens, it will definitely receive a 5 star review.
A disheartened customer..
by JlBartz on 2020/04/24 14:46
I feel just a cheated. I too have been a paid customer from your beginning. And I can’t began to count the number of people that have referred your products to. Had I know that this is how you treat your loyal customers, I would not have referred anyone to you. Just think it’s customers like myself that put you on the platform you have rose to. And this is B.S.... And the 3 months free is a slap in the face. The customers that help your company get to where your at just had a present drop from the sky on them. And its not pretty. Only you can make a wrong a right. And I thought your company was different from the rest. I could go on and on... I’m not worth it and neither are you.
This app has gotten really bad
by ggmpd on 2018/12/28 19:21
This app used to be good. Now planes appear to stall in the air for minutes during final approach to major airports. In addition during flights over major cities they take unexpected jumps all over the sky (I wish I could take planes like that which could “hop” miles along their routes in fractions of a second). Other problems are that one minute it can find the flight in the air, the next moment no such flight can be located. Or, you’re looking at the flight info before the flight takes off and then if the plane departs while you’re looking at the info the display doesn’t update to show that a live view is now available. Who writes this software?

HOW IT WORKS Most aircraft today are equipped with ADS-B transponders that transmit positional data. Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of 20,000 ground stations to receive this data that then shows up as aircraft moving on a map in the app. In an expanding number of regions, with the help of multilateration, we’re able to calculate the positions of aircraft that don’t have ADS-B transponders. Coverage is subject to change at any time. CONNECT WITH FLIGHTRADAR24 We love getting feedback on FR24.

This app is great. Does exactly what you think it does and it is a well made app. The one thing I find lacking is the fact that you can’t search by aircraft type. Other than that, 5 stars

Was using to track the Thunderbird flight path on 15/20 but it didn’t even show up on the app very disappointed that I used this app and because of that I missed it only thing saving it is that it’s fun to use 3 stars
Fun app...Fascinating to see the world connecting!

It was perfect the way it was.

by MrBultitude on 2020/05/08 21:52
It is a great app but you should’ve given previous purchasers an option to at least keep using the previous version.

Pulling something we paid for its shady and dishonest and I will not be giving another cent to this company.

Possibly fried my phone??
by serickjr on 2019/04/05 04:19
I downloaded this app yesterday morning around 6am on my brand new 3 month old iPhone XS Max, 256gb.
