If I could give zero I would. . .
by ch current customer on 2021/01/21 18:47
No loyalty with everything changing to pro with increasing yearly rates. Bought original app that was pro now all functions discontinued or only for pro subscription. No help provided. App no longer communicated well with Google calendar. Templates don't function correctly with no option to delete previous ones when having to recreate them. If I wasn't required to store/keep my calendar for 3 years minimum for work I would have deleted this app about 1-2 years ago when then they started charging for things promised when app was purchased. Finally, no response from repeat inquiry regarding app function from developers. Actually was told no, function previously available with purchase of the app would not be made available again unless I paid for the yearly subscription.
Still awful, support non-existent
by Brynncess on 2021/01/21 18:28
Terrible!!!!! Support provides nothing but canned answers for multiple, multiple, multiple issues! They have NEVER returned my requests for help. I hate this app, but now if I default back to the original, I feel that I would lose over ten years of info. What a total waste of money!!!
**Excellence**
by Empath61 on 2021/01/21 18:21
It is apparent this company strives for the very best. This app has marvelous options I did not dream of but wouldn't be without. I love the availability of 3 alarms for each event, templates and tying into my contacts. Organization is so important for me and it's all here. I see someone suggesting features that are already available. I can't imagine needing any other calendar program. iPhone 6+ user. (User for approximately 9 yrs)
Update made feature subscription only

I’ve enjoyed using this app for years because of your widget. Today you updated the app and made the widget a subscription-only feature. How disappointing.
WeekCalendar Review
by Steven Zyler on 2021/01/20 04:10
1/19/21 Three months later, the Auto Colors screen "black bar" issue seems to be unresolved (rendering all Auto Colors entries unreadable). I did get a reply from the developer acknowledging the issue, and that it would be addressed in the next update... Oh well. Still beats the old paper "Day Timer" book. Mostly 😬 Also, the widget when swiping to the left of the Home Screen (or Lock Screen) now only showed the current day, and not the upcoming/next day's events. There now appears to be 2 different widgets available for that screen—one titled WeekCal My Schedule, and the other just titled WeekCal (the one that was missing). Previous Review Was all but ruined. Without paying a subscription, we can't use most of the old, original, basic app features that have been available for many years, including just viewing the next (or any other) week in agenda view. Many features included since the earliest versions are suddenly just gone and *without warning*. That said, $7.49/year subscription certainly does sound reasonable, even just for basic software maintenance. But the annual subscription sometimes appears as $19.99, so it's a little confusing.
Really Scanbot Pro ... Sick of This!
by fox7rot on 2021/01/13 09:05
Trial doesn’t work/incessant loop. I already paid for the ‘privilege’ of using Scanbot Pro ... and now I have to pay again. I beta tested the newer app versions and ‘eagerly’ (stupidly) gave feedback and assisted developers in this and other apps. Took a chance on the apps Scanbot Pro suggested, only to discover that all of don’t download/work unless the demand for more 💰 💴 💵 money is fulfilled. Really and truly: users aren’t an endless supply of funds. What do you Developers think you’re doing?! ✌️📤
Sync problem
by Taranoel17 on 2021/01/12 14:04
Submitted my concern to support, got a rapid response and discovered it was settings on my phone & macbook. Have changed those and am happily moving forward loving everything about this app, especially the mini month & week view!! Love everything about this app - it's a total 5 star app. Except that it deletes anything that isn't recurring when you sync it with the computer. I almost had a stroke.

Bug is day lineup
by Jonchile on 2021/01/09 16:59
Been using this app exclusively for a few years now and love it. Lately for a week or more, there’s a bug: Once you set an Appmt or date, it shows up on the mini month display as being on the date you chose, BUT it ALSO displays on the day before. Very disconcerting.. This only is happening on the iPhone 11 Max Pro, display on the iPad Pro seems to be right. Great app and I hope will be fixed soon.

Wide date range for search is terrific
by Sleepless Bob on 2021/01/01 18:05
I use this app often because I frequently need to look up things that aren’t accessible via the native calendar on iPhone. The latter is robust and easy for everyday use; but this app gives me access to all sorts of records with a quick date filter.

Week Cal Works Very Well
by Brian Maskell on 2020/12/15 13:46
I have been using Week Cal for several years now and it works very well for me. The integration between my MAC, IPad, and iPhone is fast and seamless. The range of displays is very quick and helpful so you can easily see the details and the big picture of my work and commitments. Week Cal is good because I use it constantly without having to think about it.
Simply great.

Best Calendar You Can Get
by The Real Middleman on 2020/12/01 22:53
UPDATED: Several years ago was looking for a replacement calendar for my iPhone; the native calendar was (and still is) pretty poor. This calendar app is all you need! The weekly / daily / monthly view is exactly what I need to manage my work schedule. Many other features are also better than the native calendar. The native iPhone app has "bitten the dust" on my iPhone and iPad.
Buyer Beware- unethical company
by missiklee on 2020/11/29 16:26
If you purchase the full unlocked version, like so many of us have in the past, this company every few years rolls out a new version and the locks up all the unlocked features you already paid for! I paid the full price to get certain features and now I’m told I have to pay a subscription to get those same features? VERY UNETHICAL business practices. Not to mention my app crashes all the time now. It’s bad enough this developer tried this same thing an few years back and their reviews tanked, so they fixed the problem. But now THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN! Clearly they don’t learn or care. I’m moving on to a new calendar system.

Works very well for me and my business
by RPj1956 on 2020/11/20 14:52
Frankly it would be nearly impossible for me to run my business if it were not for this application. I am a certified professional fitness trainer and I have anywhere from 25 to 30 clients who may have a schedule that changes weekly. You can imagine the chaos that may take place as one client needs to change that day another client needs to change the hour and I have to consider how that impacts other people. There is no way I would be able to do this without Week Calendar! So today I have to say that it works extremely well for me and I wouldn't be able to run my business without it! Thank you for a great job!
Do NOT want PRO.
by don't force a subscription on 2020/11/19 22:52
Quit putting this crap forcefully on my iPhone. I do not want to pay a subscription fee. Getting back to the basic calendar from your forceful ad is a nightmare. Knock it off. If people want to upgrade, they will search for a way to upgrade. If my life for the past many years wasn’t in the calendar, I would delete it
Too difficult.

Since iOS 14 update, can’t access weekcal
by ThinMichael69 on 2020/11/09 21:02
I have been using Weekcal (pro) for years and have always loved it. Since the most recent iOS update, I’ve not been able to use weekcal at all. I don’t have an option to select calendars and toggle on in settings so that weekcal can have access to my calendars. I’ve reached out several times to customer support. They have been slow to respond and haven’t helped. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it several times. I need help.
The Best Calendar App for Power Users But Pricey
by aguamaned on 2020/11/06 20:02
I have been a loyal customer and advocate of Week Cal since the app appeared in the App Store way back in 2006 or so. I have promoted and told everyone I know that Week Cal is the best iPhone calendar in the App Store. It is a great app, but I use my calendar mostly for personal use. I can’t justify spending $30 or $20 per year on an app that doesn’t generate revenue for me. This is especially true because Apple gives us a free calendar that has all the basic functions I need. There are other calendar apps too that are good and are free or affordable. Now I’m telling everyone it is one of the most expensive calendar apps in the App Store. Sad. So, my 5 star rating has gone down to 1 star, and I bid Week Cal goodbye. Old Review: I tend to go for apps that offer the most control, capabilities, and options… and Week Cal is by far the best app of that kind in the App Store. How do I know? I’ve tested over 30 calendar apps and Week Cal beats them all. There are other apps, of course, that are better at very specific things than Week Cal. For example, Sched can create a new event faster than any other calendar app (Week Cal comes in second). However, no other app can do as many things or offer as much customization as Week Cal. I can customize everything from color, or font, to automation rules (for example, if an event has “Dr” in its title, then change its color to blue). If there was one thing I could change about Week Cal, it would be to add drag & drop support to the other calendar views (List, Agenda, Mini-Month). Drag & drop works very well in Day and Week views, but it would be nice if the same ease of use could work for the other calendar views. I can imagine that in some views your finger might get in the way of seeing where you’d like to drop the event. However, if you used the information pop-up box for the event to drag it around (instead of using the actual event to drag), I think it would work amazingly well. Another suggestion for drag & drop… after dropping the event where I want it, I tend to tap the screen with my finger to end the drag & drop session. I am constantly frustrated by this. Instead of tapping anywhere on the screen, I am forced to tap on the Done button in the upper right corner of the screen. Both the focus of my eyes and my hand have to shift to make sure I tap on the correct spot, and it’s much slower than a single tap anywhere on the screen would be. A single tap anywhere on the screen just seems so much more natural. In any case, I highly recommend Week Cal. It’s a great app! **************** Comments on Price and Subscription I discovered Week Cal fairly soon after it first appeared in the App Store. The first email I have that mentions Week Cal was sent in 2013… so it’s been at least that long (but I think longer). I paid $1.99 for the iPhone app back then, and haven’t paid anything since. That is called value for your money. Ok. Maybe great value. I remember thinking back then that the price was way too low for such an amazing app. So, several years later I bought the iPad app for $3.99. I don’t really use my iPad for calendar stuff, and I knew this when I bought the app, but I wanted to support the developer. If they had a desktop app, I’d buy that too (maybe in iOS13/MacOS Catalina?)! But I have to say… subscriptions bother me. It’s this little voice in the back of my mind that keeps tugging at me… you’re going to run out of money if you commit to ongoing payments that don’t ever stop… I imagine the pool of my income slowly shrinking to nothing until I have nothing left. It’s scary, and it’s even scarier if I rely on any of these apps I’m subscribing to! What happens when I can’t afford them, and stop making payments? I’m in trouble! There’s a lot of apprehension to subscriptions. Let’s look at value really fast… $1.99 for 5 years (at least) vs $7.49 for one year. Seems a little pricey doesn’t it? Maybe if it was $1.99 for one year… Yeah, I’d go for that. On the other hand, if Week Cal was also a Mac app… now that might be worth more!
Best calendar app

Too many issues all the time
by solarize00 on 2020/10/28 21:29
I love this calendar for their Agenda view and have used it for the last several years; however, there are too many times when there are weird glitches and it takes forever for it to be fixed. One recurring issue I have is that regardless of how many times I input something for a specific calendar, the event comes up in the default calendar color (even though it shows that it’s in another). Another one is that even if I input an event with local time, somewhere along the way when I open the event it has reverted to Lomé time zone and when I try to correct it, it defaults to midnight. This messes with keeping track of my work hours and is so frustrating. It would be nice if the developers actually took the time to address these ongoing issues instead of spending all their resources asking customers to upgrade.

by Lina74 on 2020/10/25 04:46
Why are you forcing us to see other countries holidays! We should be able to delete these as we don’t want to see them in our calendars! Even though you are considering them as a US holidays, you can’t force us to see them! I paid $$$ for this phone and I should be able to control it the way I want not the way you want! I own this phone and it’s mine and I should be able to do whatever I want to see on my calendar!
Used to be the best. Now don't waste your time.
by Zzilogy on 2020/10/19 23:53
I've used this app for years- suddenly with the last update I can't even look at next month or at previous month's without it requiring me to upgrade to premium. From free for TWENTY BUCKS a year. When google calendar does the exact same for free. Very disappointing. The developers are clearly only interested in our money, no loyalty to those who've been using it for years. What a shame that I have to delete several years of previous events. I use them a lot as reference.
Customer Service is unavailable if your calendar stops working.
by amandab10 on 2020/10/17 12:30
I have been using this app for many years. And it is great while it works. However, if something goes wrong, you loose your calendar and the customer service is very poor! I depend on this calendar and I can’t get their customer service to help me. I get one email correspondence in 24hrs so this has already taken days and we have gotten nowhere. I wish they would pick up a phone and get this corrected.

by LightHearted43 on 2020/10/13 07:17
I have been using this calendar for years now. I started using it while I was in school and now use it for my work appointments It was really good to begin with and over time, they have made some really nice improvements, making the app even better. It is easy to use, easy to change appointment times, and I love that I can use colors to differentiate my appointments. I have recommended this calendar to many friends. If I would add anything, it would be for this app to be able to designate blocks of times for work. My schedule is different each day and I set appointments within blocks of time. So, this feature would be very beneficial for me, and maybe others. Thanks for such a great app!

Do not buy! Greedy unethical developers
by M Chen2 on 2020/10/03 12:45
10/1 UPDATE: the developers restored the pro functionality I had already paid for with a new update within a couple of days of all the one star reviews. I stand by the one star rating though. This is the second time the developers have pulled this stunt in two years. Original review: Over six years ago, I paid for the pro version because this was THE BEST calendar in the App Store at the time. It was a one time payment. As other reviews have pointed out with the most recent upgrade, I can’t click on an event to see the details, swipe to a different month, basically I can’t do anything without getting a pop up screen that says I need to pay for the pro version (again) AND now it’s an annual subscription. There’s another version of the app in the App Store that appears to be a one time payment but it’s $30 - the most expensive calendar app in the store! (This app is great when you have the basic features, but it’s not worth that much.) Either way, this developer isn’t respecting previous pro purchases and just wants more money out of longtime users! No longer recommend any app from them and looking at alternative calendar apps.
Bad iPad update
by Jadwin on 2020/10/01 19:46
The entries are so tiny that you can’t read them on an iPad Pro. The calendar I added (for US Presidents) just shows a bar at the very top of the column, that says “US presidents” but when you click in it, shows no info, such as: which president’s birthday is it?
they harrass you to upgrade!!
by spinmom3 on 2020/10/01 15:37
woah, I have been using this app for years with no problems. They now want me to upgrade and pay. I cannot use my calendar now without relentless pop ups that circle and circle. Do not purchase!!
Do NOT download update!
by 11Marigold on 2020/10/01 12:09
When you update the app, withOUT WARNING you will LOSE ACCESS to EVERYTHING in your calendar except viewing that one day - unless of course you agree to pay them yearly. This is a great app BUT they’ve hijacked my entire schedule - personal & business - without warning. I find this unethical and certainly not customer-centric. I’ve been a customer now for over a decade. Clearly it’s time to move on fast.
Won’t allow changing months

UPDATE: Devslopers went back to allowing navigation to purchasers.
by Dude0u812 on 2020/09/30 23:18
UPDATE: as of September 28, I can again navigate days without paying even more for a “subscription.” This is a good program, as close as I’ve found to the beauty of Palm’s system for managing appointments. I purchased this app in full before the “subscription” scam came around. They used to try selling additional calendars for extra profit and were a little too aggressive with their advertising but the basic functions I bought worked. However, the latest update killed off all the functionality I bought the program for. It’s nearly useless to me now, the “Day” view I rely on is dead, they now want a recurring ransom, errr “subscription” to use what I already paid them for. Criminal. I’ll wait a little bit and see if they fix this for people who already paid them. If not, I’ll file a complaint with Apple for this fraud and encourage other users to do the same. I want a refund. Any alternatives to this that don’t rip off their customers?

Nice app but pop ups appear - no support reply
by rsanc050 on 2020/09/30 22:19
I purchased this app several years ago. After the recent upgrade, pop ups have appeared wanting me to upgrade for $20. I’m unable to scroll to the next month without the pop up coming up. I have emailed support twice to see how to get rid of the pop ups to purchase, which I already purchased several years ago. No response from support. Very disappointing and I’ll stop using if no resolution.

by Cousteau009 on 2020/09/29 04:26
I’ve been a long time user and like many I paid for the app many moons ago. With the most recent update, you now have to pay a subscription to do just about anything other than very basic functions. I understand these are tough times, but this is an unacceptable practice. I’d rather purchase an app outright than pay a monthly or annual subscription. I dislike the subscription system now a days. If you’re looking for a calendar app, this is no longer the one to choose. Update 28 Sep 2020: The app normal features have been restored to the app. I have access to the views I like without the annoying Pro- subscription pop-up. My rating will reflect this change now, and I’ll start using the app again.
IPad version is useless unless you shell out for pro
by cqcq42 on 2020/09/28 22:16
I bought the Week Cal app years ago because I liked it better than Apple’s calendar. I would still rate the app as a 4 on anything but an iPad where a 1 is too generous. (I’ll have to be diligent about blocking updates on other devices in case they ‘improve’ them.) Even simple things like swiping through months or going to a specific date are now impossible without the “Pro” version which requires a yearly subscription! GMAB
Disappointing
by GodsmackFan on 2020/09/28 18:41
I used to love this app. The functionality over Apple’s native Calendar app was great. Over the last year or so it seems like the support has grown thin and features and improvements are falling behind. Even something small that showed up recently are all day events showing over two days on the calendar but when you look at the event it is only one day. Makes it hard to read and ultimately undesirable.
Upsale keeps it from working correctly

I used to be able to open each day and now when I try it only asks me to upgrade
Great App
by Giarc T on 2020/09/28 00:56
The Pro pop-up is a bit annoying. I bought the app years ago and still find it great but I’m not happy about some of the new add-ons that are pushy. This app has been the greatest! Really does add so much more functionality to the iPhone. Keep up the good work.
Bait and Switch
by Jonbike1947 on 2020/09/27 19:05
I just updated and discovered that many features are no longer available in the version I paid for long ago. At no point was it mentioned that I’d have to now upgrade to an annual subscription service in order to retain the features I’ve enjoyed for years. Let me roll back or give me back my earlier payments and I’ll go find another calendar app. Jonathan I’d like to update my previously negative review. It now appears that the app has been "restored" and I have full functionality. While the company doesn’t appear to have admitted the error of its ways, or issued any kind of apology, I’m certainly pleased with their action. I’ve used this app for many years and find it to be the best calendar app out there. I love the color coding; it has always synced well for me; and it has very flexible repeat options. One note to the company, if I were just now looking for a calendar app, I probably wouldn’t plop down any money before trying it out. So if you/they don’t offer a free trial, you/they may be missing a market opportunity. Thank you for giving those us who had previously paid for the app full access again.
Greedy
by Paa80 on 2020/09/27 18:14
I paid for this app years ago. I’m now locked out and am forced to pay for a subscription if I want to use it. I have all my appointments in this app. There was no notification about this change. You people are greedy and sneaky. You have no integrity. I’m deleting this app and refuses to be blackmailed by you idiots
Unusable
by lshopper on 2020/09/27 17:17
This was a great app until the latest update. I am unable to check any date but the current week. Cannot scroll. Useless now. Update: 9/27- the last update restored functionality, so I’m happy to have it back. That said, I’m very concerned about whether to update again- to lose functionality again- and customer support never responded to my concerns a week ago. So I’ll keep it at 4 stars until I confirm that everything I use won’t be taken again. Otherwise, I’ll switch to an app that won’t charge a lot of money on a yearly basis. I’m happy to pay for a great app, but prefer a one time, reasonably priced model.
App update
by Que281 on 2020/09/27 16:55
The app did an update a few days ago. It wiped out all my past and will not let me enter new items because it keeps telling me to select a calendar. Keep trying so now I’m to frustrated. You blew it guys

Easy to use and integrates across multiple apps.
Greed
by MEP200 on 2020/09/27 07:21
You could have somehow done this in a way that would have asked only new users to pay the subscription. Apparently you did not care much about your existing customers. By the way you used to respond to criticism. How about a response? Same here bye bye unless you change this.
Changed from free to chargeable MID-USE
by J194826939 on 2020/09/26 15:33
I’ve been using this calendar for YEARS, and all of the sudden, any other view besides weekly costs money. Get out of here with that, are you kidding? Find a free version...

Great calendar app. Highly recommended!
Was 5 star, then 2 stars, back to 5 stars
by tfish4 on 2020/09/25 23:42
This was my go to calendar app until your latest update. Now every time I look at something it has that upgrade to pro. I now will not be using it anymore. Thanks Update. Thank you for removing the upgrade to pro! You are now again my go to app!!
They listened to their users
by BJ Reed on 2020/09/25 22:36
The app developers have restored WeekCal to its full functionality! Thank you for listening to us! This really is the best calendar out there! Much appreciated!!
Can’t Edit
by Zack Daddy101 on 2020/09/25 17:51
This used to be a 5 star calendar app, and should be at least a 4 star app, but now I can’t even edit anymore. For whatever reason, I have multiple entries of a holiday I don’t recognize. Further, I can’t even remove EITHER of these holidays! This is unavailable, as this is MY PERSONAL CALENDAR! I should be able to edit my own calendar. If I don’t want to honor it recognize any holiday, no matter if it’s a government, religious, or any other reason. I shouldn’t be forced to stare at such nonsensical holidays. Fix this issue, and give me back my edit controls. Then I’ll give you your 5 stars back.
Last update wiped out everything
by Aimers23 on 2020/09/25 17:34
All calendars previously synced have disappeared and no way to add them back as far as I can tell. Waiting to hear back from support. Is this a push to upgrade??
It’s alright.
by Sam3566 on 2020/09/25 16:32
It does the job.
Why?
by Tassie Rick on 2020/09/25 14:03
Why can i no longer move the screen to another month without the Pro ad blocking?? This is becoming almost useless after years of loving it!
Add ons
by Daddywilma on 2020/09/25 05:06
I give the app 3 stars. Although it works great, it’s aggravating that if you are exploring with the app and you accidentally hit okay to one of the “add-ons” in the calendar store you get get rid of it
Excellent!! (Now, not so much 9/24/20..)
by AMK* on 2020/09/25 03:45
Paid for app wayyy back when it was $1.99 or $2.99, maybe 8-9 years ago. My calendar froze today when I needed my medical appointment information, no way to see every appointment, doctors, work.. everything I’ve had planned. Only way to see it was to do the free trial! I feel deceived, disappointed and taken advantage of. I’ve already paid for this app! You updated and took that away! And conveniently “No valid iPhone subscription found”.. nice .. real nice is this how you get people to pay more, after already purchasing your app?? Ugh. Beyond upset! Love this App! Has many options - from multiple actions daily, reoccurring events options, different colors for specific events and it's every easy to use! This is an app that has everything I need! Highly recommend!!!
Ripoff No More
by chiu1024 on 2020/09/25 03:37
Just upgraded the app, which cured my previous complaint that I would have to upgrade the app to PRO Version to use the same features which I have used for many years. I appreciate the developer fixing the glitch relatively quickly.
What happened
by Kc40412015 on 2020/09/25 02:42
I used to love this app and now I can’t get by the ad for a paid subscription. I have already paid for the app and don’t want to upgrade to the pro. It won’t even let me use the app because I can’t restore it. I now only see the ad for the subscription and can’t see my calendars. Please fix!
Forces you to pay or can’t use the app
by Bbgg123 on 2020/09/25 00:42
This is my primary calendar app and I absolutely loved it UNTIL they had an update and it forced you to sign up for their free 2 week trial and then after you have to pay $7.49 a year. Unless you sign up, it forces you out of the app and you cannot view your calendar. This is very shady and a poor customer experience. They also state you can cancel at anytime through their settings, which I still am unable to find. I emailed their customer support 2 days ago and haven’t heard back. Such a shame!
Lots of glitches, fixed quickly
by Sileoaberro on 2020/09/25 00:33
I’ve used this app since I got my fist iPhone. With the recent update, it took a couple days to have access to all my data again. Today I was trying to plan for Christmas and couldn’t see outside of this month because I’m not a subscriber. Both instances were so frustrating, I came to write a review. Then they were shortly fixed. I love this app, I’ve never had so many issues with it after an update.
Stop holding my calendar hostage!
by DebinTX on 2020/09/24 23:36
Suddenly I can’t even swipe to next month unless I sign up for the “free trial” and then pay for use? What gives, WeekCal? Stop holding my calendar hostage. 😡
Great for years now useless
by Reant on 2020/09/24 23:34
I bought this app back when the iPhone 3GS was new. It has been the best calendar app for so long. Now everything I touch pops up a window to subscribe.

Recent update made the free version of the app unusable
by Freetime in Florida on 2020/09/24 18:11
I’ve enjoyed this app for several months now, but with a recent update you can’t look at any months other than the current month unless you pay them $7.49 a year. It is essentially no longer a calendar.
Not good after latest update!
by gracenmia on 2020/09/24 17:26
I’ve used and loved this app for years! Now, I can’t do ANYTHING without the upgrade screen popping up! I can’t get past it, which means I can’t even utilize the calendar I have to switch to a new app! Greedy developers taking away features so you have to pay to use it! Ridiculous!
Updated to four Stars now
by Smileywt on 2020/09/24 15:37
*updated 24 Sept 2020- Thanks for pushing out an update that restored previous purchase users. I have updated my rating to 4 Stars because that issue shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Old title (Use to be a Great Calendar) Old Review- Very sad to see with the recent update that WeekCal wants you to pay for the pro plan. What happened to those who purchased the unlocked version? I’m not going to pay for a calendar that I have already paid for. This is greed on top of greed. Very disappointed!
Great app, but some minor limitations
by Itsmicroman on 2018/11/08 19:55
I own a mobile business with multiple appointments every day. I have been using Week Calendar for over five years and I found it significantly more useful and easier to work with them the built-in Apple calendar. I use iTunes to synchronize my phone calendars with my pc’s Outlook calendar and Week Calendar functions perfectly. The Week Calendar’s additional weekly and mini-month views are exceptionally useful for seeing an overview of scheduled appointments. Andy interface is easy to use. The search function is great for helping to find previous appointments but unfortunately, the newest version of the app continually reverts back to a 1-year search envelope after every search. It can be adjusted using the gear tool for a longer search envelope but setting the beginning date automatically moves the end date to one year later requiring the user to modify both dates each time they need a longer search. The older version of the app retained the previously used search dates after each search. I hope this option is re-incorporated into the next update. Otherwise, I highly recommend this app for anyone who needs more control of their phone calendar than the built-in iPhone calendar provides .
Wonderful calendar with tons of options
by Hajuasahi on 2020/06/16 08:12
When I first write this, I had been using this app for almost a year. Now I’ve used it for many years and still really really love it. “The mini month is SO useful to me. It's just about like the month view in google calendar on a full computer. I can see all my events in one view. There's little great features too - if you have too many things to see in the mini month line (mon-sun), you can scroll down in the line without switching views. Likewise if the event has lots of details, you can scroll the window that pops up when you tap on it. You can even edit a lot of the event without needing to go to the edit window. This calendar is worlds more useful to me than the stock calendar. Oh, and I was testing CalenMob and this one seems to have more features and runs much quicker than CalenMob. There are tons of features, many of which I don't use, and he option to use them or not. Options are lovely. The only thing I'd say could use improvement is that the notifications from weekcal are linked to the stock calendar and will take you there rather than weekcal if you tap on them. This hasn't been much of an issue for me as I just notice that I have an event reminder and then go straight to weekcal. Price when I got it was only $2 too. Thank you!”
I Love This App, But...
by Faeriegrl1 on 2018/05/20 17:22
As stated in the title, I love this app. I've been using it for maybe 5-6 years, shortly after I got my first iPhone (my phone before that was a Palm Centro, which had a GREAT calendar). Weekly Calendar has everything I need plus more, and they are always improving it. My favorite parts are being able to assign certain types of events a specific color (such as errands being purple, appointments being bright pink, etc.) as well as auto-color, in which I assign specific to a specific name or title (such as events pertaining to my daughter). I'm a visual person and need events to stand out from each other; otherwise, everything blends in together when I’m looking for something specific. I also have Week Calendar on my iPad. However, in the past week, and only on my iPhone, I have lost the ability to keep new colors that I have created as well as use auto-colors for specific events. I’ve done everything I know of, including deleting the app, but I’m just not able to create and keep colors as well as assign colors to specific events, even colors that I don’t create, colors that come with the app. It’s frustrating.
Need Apple Cal for full functionality?!
by RDub76 on 2019/03/14 11:40
This app has pretty much everything that I’m looking for except this deal breaker; you have to have the native iOS calendar app installed if you want to receive event notifications. So when you get a notification, it’s from the Apple Calendar app; tapping on the notification takes you to the Apple Calendar app, not Week Calendar. If you don’t have the native iOS Calendar app installed, tapping on the notification takes you to the App Store to install the native iOS calendar app! For a paid app, with a subscription plan (a subscription plan that, by the way, removed a few features that were in the paid app and now makes those available only if you subscribe and pay monthly) not having app specific notifications, etc. is ridiculous. Week Calendar explains the reason behind using the native iOS calendar for notifications on their site, but I call b.s.! This is just lazy programming! There are myriad calendar apps that all have their own app specific notifications. I’ve tried dozens of calendar apps and all the notifications worked fine; I didn’t miss any notifications, as suggested in Week Calendar’s explanation. Their support is weak. I emailed them for support...no response. So they want to take $8 a month from me, but don’t offer support and lack some important features? I don’t think so. They should change the name of this app to Weak Calendar!
Perfect as is
by LSSR22 on 2019/09/23 15:30
WeekCal has some features that makes it much more useful than the native iOS calendar. First and foremost: the ability to quickly and easily place an entry onto multiple calendars. That makes it *perfect* for managing multiple calendars among multiple individuals. And having the calendar based on the native app is actually a HUGE benefit (despite other reviewers complaining about it). With the calendar information residing in the native iOS function, I can share calendars with others and they don’t have to have WeekCal installed on their device to receive appointments I’ve entered. They get all the changes, updates, deletions, and adjustments I make in WeekCal right in their native iOS calendars. How great is that? Please, please, please don’t take that away. I would actually remove WeekCal if it didn’t work that way. Finally: I don’t want all of the “features” in the Pro version, so I’m not going to buy it. I’m actually happy to pay a little more for the regular version because it’s a great app and the developers deserve to make some money for what they’ve created and support. But please quit bugging me about the Pro version.
They ruined a great thing!!
by FD Medic 10 on 2018/08/30 20:32
I loved this app... until the last update. Now I am stuck on the current calendar and every time I try to do ANYTHING, a stupid upgrade screen pops up with no way to decline the offer. I have three jobs, a wife and child each with their own calendars to track, and lots of other appointments to juggle. This was the best calendar app to manage all of that. No longer... Now the greedy app developers are holding us hostage by forcing us to either upgrade to a paid subscription or delete the app and find and a new calendar. This WAS my favorite app and have relied upon on it for the last 10 years. I USED to tell everyone, I came in contact with about this app lauding it as the best calendar app out there. That was until they force us to pay for it! I received an email from the support team and they had me update the app. I did an the subscription pop-up went away and I regained what I had before! Thanks!!
Version 13.2.2 does restore functionality
by Wooooooooooooooo0 on 2020/09/23 11:10
Updated 2020 Sep 23rd: Okay. Version 13.2.2 restores previously paid-upfront functionality. I like the app and I like this version of the app but, still, communication here is disappointing. No details in release notes. No response to my numerous support requests. The app itself is good and so I hope, from here on, developers manage to win back users' trust. Right now I for one am open-minded but wary. Updated 2020 Sep 20th: Version 13.2.0 has bugs with entitlements, takes away functionality that I paid for (back when the app sold on paid-upfront basis). I still am waiting to hear back from developers, let alone for developers to issue a fix. DO NOT UPDATE. Old review: WeekCalendar a great app gone bad, marred by feature creep and by downright sketchy privacy policy. Updates are scant and so subscription-only pricing is questionable. Despite there having been just one substantive update in the past ten months, the price for annual subscription (which covers iPhone only) climbs seventy-three percent -- ridiculous! For me this app a 'goodbye' not a good buy.
Great app that’s been my go-to calendar
by CleveNoob on 2019/10/31 13:19
So, I’ve been a WeekCalendar user for a LONG time. I bought the app way back when it was $1.99 or $2.99 or something, before it went free with subscription and IAP support. While I’m a little sad to be bothered by requests to partake in such things, I can’t deny the software authors the right to try and keep a great product generating revenue, and this is a great product (and the IAP is a little less ever-present now than it once was in the latest release). While Apple has added some great new features to their own iOS calendar, WeekCalendar still has the best means of interacting with data a week at a time, and using it has been easy. It integrates very well with both the iOS calendar and Google calendar. If there is a complaint to be had it is that it leans quite heavily on Apple’s own Calendar app to provide some of the core functionality. Week Calendar builds on it but cannot fully supplant it. All part of Apple’s plan, perhaps?
Continues to improve. Wonderful features & Quick customer Support response
by GKambitsch on 2018/09/27 22:17
Sept 2018 This is the calendar app to use! I might add that it works flawlessly with Siri. Oct 2017 Still like it. Still my primary calendar app. May 2017 Still my go-to calendar app. See my notes below. May 2015 Recent interface changes make this app even more intuitive to use. For instance, the new search icon has eliminated the need go to the "List" view to search for an item. Previous comments are listed below: After years of use, this is still my go to calendar app. Very active and responsive development team. Great app! Continues to improve. * auto color coding & icons: all my Red Cross volunteer shifts and meetings stand out in red if I include "Red Cross" in the title. All my medical appointments stand out in pink, if I include "Dr", "Med" or "Health" in the title. My musical gigs and rehearsals are yellow with a guitar icon. * A few years ago (iOS 6) a bug prevented the app from loading. The issue resolved quickly, but I will never forget the quick attention I received! I received a response within 2 hours of reporting the problem. recommending a competing app while Apple applied the patch they had already submitted. * This is a great app for setting up complex repeating appointments (eg: every third Thursday). * Also, using its "rolling event" feature, Week Cal provides a reminder daily, bugging you until you complete a designated task.
Awesome app taken away!!
by dbhiebert on 2020/09/23 03:50
This app was good when I first purchased it several versions ago, but it has has evolved into one amazing tool! For the first time, I now have something which outdoes the DateBk4 I used to use on my Palm T3. It is easily worth more than the price. I can't believe how they managed to fit a the new Mini-month view into the display available—it's like they somehow managed to make the screen bigger (and I only have a 3GS without the Retina Display on the iPhone 4). The author(s) are to be congratulated on such a quality product that outdoes the Apple Calendar app. The only thing I wish it could do is show today's date on the icon like the Apple Calendar app (although Apple's probably uses undocumented/proprietary features to do so). Update on Version 13.2 I am appalled that after having purchased this app previously, this version has disabled most of the functionality that I have regularly used for years, locking it behind a new subscription model. Yes, simply upgrading a minor version number has removed paid-for functionality. I am very upset by this and downgraded my rating.
This will app will replace Informant 5 when
by fourwindsbar on 2019/10/08 21:21
I was a long time user of WeekCal until Informant 5 was released. At the time, I5 had reminders support when WeekCal did not. Now that WeekCal has added reminders, I would switch back in a heartbeat when: - I don’t have to have the native calendar notification on just to get event notifications. Yes, I know the developers address this on their support page stating that they can’t get around Apple’s constraints, and the Calendar notifications HAVE to be on. But that’s nonsense. Informant 5, Awesome Cal, and other apps do not require both notifications to be turned on. I don’t want two apps notifying me of the same event. - In mini month view, when in dark mode, PLEASE make the day number font white. Honestly, if there was one single reason for not switching back, it’s this one. And please don’t say it’s an Apple constraint. Other apps do this flawlessly. Thanks for reading.
New update no good
by Lbpppp on 2019/08/01 03:20
This was my favorite and only calendar from day 1 of having an iPhone (maybe 10 years ago?). I am a obsessive-compulsive planner and with two kids and all the school events, extracurriculars, and a full-time job I have to be. I tried so many different apps for to do lists and calendars and I always enjoyed the look and feel of this one. BUT I feel like the latest updates have ruined a good thing. First of all, I can no longer view my work calendar events on this (my work uses google calendar), and when I create an event on my phone through this app it no longer syncs to the google calendar I use on my work computer. Also I can’t figure out how to view events more than a few months ago. One of my calendars is completely blank (maybe because they stopped syncing??). I had to download google calendar on my phone to get everything to sync in one place again and as much as I dislike the layout of the google calendar app I have no choice because I would definitely prefer this one. I am very sad about this.
Excellent app which does what one expects
by maliVuk on 2019/03/30 19:09
This is the only calendar app I use for both work and personal scheduling. My primary view is the Month view which gives the days agenda and allows immediate access to other days of the month. The repeating function covers every situation I have encountered and the rolling repeat is great for tasks which may not be addressed on the desired day, but can't be forgotten. I make extensive use of the note section of each event for meeting agendas or for pertinent technical data I want to have at hand. Attaching files to events can also serve a similar purpose. If asked, I would be hard pressed to come up with a new feature request. I have been using this app on both iPhone & iPad for years. It syncs well with the Apple calendar app which syncs with my employer supplied MobileIron app, so all of my calendar activities are available in WeekCal.
Best Calendar Ap!!!
by Solopreneur Consultant on 2019/01/23 17:43
Having used MANY calendars over the years, I’ve found that the weekly view works best, at least for me. I searched for a digital weekly view calendar for some time and could not find one. I missed the weekly format so much, I actually went back to a paper calendar! Then I found this ap, and it’s fanTAStic! Not only does it show me one week at a glance, it allows for a TON of customization! I love being able to make the current day wider than the others, the time marker that extends across the screen, the customizable colors, and the way the Ap integrates all my calendars, yet still allows me to block any individual calendar I like. And this Ap is intuitive! Want to move an appointment to another day? Just tap & drag it to the day & time you need it. It’s that easy! This is one of the most useful digital tools I use, and I use a LOT of them.
I was upset about pro
by RustVel on 2019/11/03 07:20
I don’t know why after so many years of having bought this app I thought I was entitled to more updates. This has to be the best calendar app I’ve ever seen. I always come back to it. No matter what new-fangled calendar app comes out year after year after year. I’ve had it with my current app and so I’m coming back to this one. God the things I went through just to avoid another subscription! I’ve bought like 2-3 calendar apps recently so I could pay once and be done with it. Not going through that has to be worth the $15 dollars a year lol. If you asked me to invent a calendar app and come up with as many features as possible to add with no limits, I couldn’t come up with everything that’s in this one! Thanks for updating with the UI for us lowly peasant users who don’t have pro yet. I’m glad to be back, will soon subscribe.
Don’t bother, No longer works without paying
by 123fwwtzy on 2020/08/11 14:24
I have been using this app for years and have loved it, until now. I paid for the app back when it was first created, I paid two dollars for it. Now that they have upgraded to a subscription, it no longer works with my phone and every time I try to scroll to the next month I get a pop-up wanting me to pay $20 a year. I emailed their customer service telling m them I’ve already paid for it, and I’m not going to pay for a subscription since they increase their prices, I already paid for the full features. Their response was that it should work just fine, I just shouldn’t be able to access the newer features that they have created. Either way, it doesn’t work and I cannot scroll off of the month without the pop-up saying I have to pay for the pro. And I can’t bypass the pop up to view the next month, it just goes back to the current, so I am stuck on this month only. Very disappointed, and now I’m having to switch apps and will pay for another one out of principle.
The best iPhone calendar app I have found!
by PenManDoug on 2018/12/17 09:28
UPDATE: I still feel that Week Cal is the best calendar app for my iPhone 6+. But… I am frustrated by the appearance of the new day and week views. I have found a work around which, while a bit cumbersome, has worked. If I open it, go to the week view, and then double tap in week view, I get the good old day view that I prefer. I have used Week Cal for years, and have found it to consistently be the very best out there. I have tried many iPhone calendar apps, including Tempo, Fantastical 2, Pocket Informant… And Week Cal is BY FAR the best (and one of the least expensive) that I have found. It is beautiful and easy to look at, the information you want is easily found, entering new events is an extremely simple process and the developers are constantly releasing useful updates. This is an excellent app, well worth the price.
Overall good, but a couple annoying problems
by 317537MO on 2018/12/04 02:41
These comments relate to my usage on my iPhone, which is my primary device to use for calendar purposes. 1. I use the monthly view. Anytime a month has some days that fall into a 5th week, the first week of the month is hidden under the top banner (with the name of the month). You have to pull the page down or tap on the first week to get it to appear. When you do this, the page “hops” up or down to bring your selection into view. When you’re viewing the first week, the name of the month then is no longer visible, so if you are swiping between months, you have no idea what month you are looking at. The page “hops” are visually frustrating. 2. Calendar entries will spontaneously adjust the time from All Day to 24 hours, so that an entry assigned for All Day and Rolling will now show up as having a 24-hour assigned time, i.e. it will show up as a Friday and Saturday event, even though it was assigned as an All Day event only. 3. Sometimes an event that has been assigned as Rolling will not roll over to the next day and will remain on its original date. This flaw requires that I constantly refer back to previous days to see if any event has failed to roll forward. This app has many wonderful features, especially the Rolling feature, so a few tweaks would be great!
Please restore 2-week display option for Month View
by HS5 on 2020/04/10 16:39
I’ve been requesting that the option be restored to view less than the whole month while in the Month view (we used to have this as an option and it was mysteriously removed) for several years now. This is currently offered as an option under Rolling Month View for Mini Month. Seems that it should be easy to restore for Month View as well (and why remove features??). If this feature were restored I could go back to using Week Cal. I have too many events to have the entire month always in view and the Mini Month and the ticker in Day view are way too tiny. It’s the ONLY thing wrong with this app in my opinion but it prevents me from using it. Please please please restore this small feature and you’ll have an even BIGGER week cal fan than you already had! Please???
Great Calendar App
by Ryusui on 2018/08/29 17:24
This app truly is everything the iPhone calendar should have been. It's extremely simple to use, has every feature I could possibly imagine needing in my calendar, and the support is phenomenal. Copy and paste, drag and drop, and CUSTOM alert times! Was that really such a hard thing to have in the calendar app? Apparently so for Apple, but not for Week Cal. And when I emailed the developer to request a feature, I was emailed back in less than 10 minutes with a response! Not only did they get back to me quickly, but they kindly showed me that the feature I requested was already there, and how to use it! I've downloaded some great apps, but this is by far the best. And the fact that you get what has to be the best support around just closes the deal. Get this app. It will be the best $2 you've ever spent.
Functional but nothing to write home about.
by made up my mind on 2019/01/14 04:17
I’ve actually been using this app for a couple of years now, it’s easier to continue using it then it is to download a different calendar and update my appointments onto the new one. My biggest complaint about this calendar is when I merge appointments from another app, it doesn’t allow me to set more than two alarms. Sometimes I like to set one for the day before, another one a couple of hours before the appointment and one for when I actually need to leave the house. Additionally, the two alarms it has won’t let me update it to the time I want them to be, it’ll show that I’ve change the time for the alarm After I hit save, but when I go back in to make sure the appointment is there it has defaulted back to its own time.
This is THE App
by Jaymiko on 2019/03/13 14:58
I've continuously used Week Cal since its early days. It remains my most valuable iPhone asset. In fact, it is what makes my iPhone valuable to me. I now have 15 years (having converted data from my old Palm Pilot) of meetings, appointments, milestones, restaurants, family events, travel throughout the world, all in this calendar/diary, which I often have reason to reference (with the amazing search capabilities). All is sync'd with my office Outlook so I always have the information at my work desk as well. The features are full, rich, deep, and easy to use. And somehow the designers find a way to keep improving this already perfect program. This may be the best designed and programmed app (from both a utilitarian and a cosmetic beauty point of view) in the entire App Store. I'm thankful for it at least 50 times a day!
Great app
by China>Rider on 2019/09/20 03:53
This calendar makes life much easier and far exceeds the native apple calendar. I link it to my google calendars so all changes made on the phone show up on any other device I sign into google on and vice versa. Two of my favorite features are rolling events and agenda view. Rolling events eliminate the need for a separate "to do" app with the added bonus that your "to dos" show up on the calendar (hint: make them all day events and they will be on top of the day) and keep showing up until you mark them as completed. They can be made to repeat as well. For example, if you need to to a certain task on the 5th of each month, the task will show up on the 5th and subsequent days til you mark it completed. It will do that each month. Slick! Many other features too numerous to mention.
Need IPAD version Please!
by lgalvin on 2020/07/05 18:46
I’ve been paying for the Pro version and I DO like it, for the most part. It’s a little clunky with multiple Calendars that get integrated with the same name “Home”, “Home 1”, several “Work” calendars... I’m not sure if I did that, or if when integrating multiple calendars it default names them the same way. Regardless, On my phone, I really like it and find it very useful that it integrates with Siri reminders and other features. I got an IPad that I am trying to use a lot more for work now, and was so disappointed to see there wasn’t an Ipad versionion. I would have given it at least a 4 star rating, if this were the case. I tried using the phone version that you can “expand” (but that makes it so huge it’s unsable). Plus if I’m using my Ipad in landscape mode since it has a case with a keyboard, that makes it *really* unsable, as it’s scaled for portrait mode in IPhone. PLEASE make update for Ipads!
Appointments
by Clsriickn on 2017/10/25 17:09
I really like this app however the one thing that bugs me is when making an appointment it too quick to close. If your not careful it closes without putting your time for the appointment or before you can put your notes in. The other thing that I dislike about this app is whatever I enter In my calandra automatically goes on every devise I own that has an calandra and when the reminder goes off all my go off all at once witch is very annoying to have my desk top computer, iPad, & my iPhone. Recently every update seems to make it harder to use. Now the app thinks it know who I'm scheduling an appointment with and is purity persistent that's who I should be scheduling regardless if it's right or not. Makes it very frustrating and now I can’t even see what appointment I have without open the app before it use to just show up on my lock phone. It just keeps getting worse with every update
Again? Do not buy this app!
by gabbadabba on 2019/12/13 11:34
I paid for this app but it seems like I am being shaken down repeatedly to upgrade to the Pro version. First, I no longer had access to ad free Month View which is primarily what I use. Then after complaining, got that fixed. Til it happened again. Complained again, got fixed again. Support responded, but why am I having to put my precious time into contacting them? This is some weird Munchhausen's by Proxy nonsense!!! Now out of the blue, all of my custom colors that I painstakingly created and rely heavily on disappeared. So now I can't create new events with these colors without re-creating them one by one. Support is zero help. They send irrelevant and unhelpful links until the most recent one saying they are "investigating" and will let me know. No timeline. Meanwhile, my calendar is a mess and is not efficient at all (why I bought the app). Waiting. Not patiently. I do not recommend this calendar. Sad because I was a total fan and used to recommend this to everyone.
Tired of surprise subscription upgrades...Goodbye
by phoeg1 on 2019/09/26 22:52
Wonderful. Yet another developer gives a big upgrade but, oh by the way, disables features I’ve long used. This is a great app, but I don’t need those features bad enough to pay for the “Pro” version. This is the third app this has happened with, and I’m up to $60/year if I choose to have the full featured versions (I don’t.) I don’t need to spend over $50 a year top be able to put colors and icons on my entries. I understand developers wish to make money. No problem. And I don’t mind paying for an occasional significant upgrade. I have a weather radar app I use a lot and I don’t mind $1.99/year for one extra feature, but they have not (yet) disabled previous big features (that I already paid for) and said I now have to cough up a larger amount every year for the “exciting new features.” It’s obvious that this is the way developers are going, but as it’s their right to use that model, it’s my right to go elsewhere. I shall.
Love iOS Cal, but love this even more!!!
by skrutherford on 2018/11/16 16:58
As an extreme iOS Cal user, I loved most of iCal, but it had a few things that was making it a little bit frustrating to use at times. Finally I decided to go see if there was anything else out there and stumbled on the reviews for this one. It has turned out to be exactly what I needed with the features that I needed. I can see my events way more easily and the views are much more flexible with zoom capabilities. I also like the fact that it has the ability to put more than 2 alerts on an event and that the alert lengths are editable. Finally, the best part is that it all still syncs up with iOS iCal in case I ever have to use it on my Mac or anywhere else that this app isn’t available. It’s seamless and wonderful.
Loyal Fan for Many Years
by ImWithHim on 2019/01/28 15:52
I started using WeekCal many years ago when I got my first iPhone and the pre-loaded iCal lacked features I wanted. I was a devoted user of paper planners/calendars, so it would take a lot of convincing to get me to switch to digital; iCal was unconvincing. However, I saw the benefit of accessing a schedule on my phone because I no longer carried my planner everywhere. Enter WeekCal, which I found through an App Store search. It was rich in features and highly customizable, and has continued its development ever since - not merely updating to the latest version of iOS as some older apps have done. It took a few years, but I eventually gave up the paper calendar altogether, which is saying a lot since I’d been using one for about 35 years!
Well ....
by Bhenry1017 on 2018/06/28 22:59
I depend on this calendar immensely. The problem is one I’ve tried to correct as has employees at my carrier’s store.... but to no avail. The prob regards the setting alerts. If I use the “first” and “second alert” functions, they revert. Always. So I can’t use the second alert function at all. Now, when I go se the first alert, and submit, say, “15 min before,” it remains as a 15-minute alert but automatically gives me a second alert “2 days before” (even though I haven’t asked for a 2nd alert at all. At this point, I can click onto that “2 day second alert” and change it to “none,” and it remains as is. SO 1) I cannot select first and second alerts without them reverting - ever - and 2) in selecting a 1st alert only, it always defaults to a “second alert” of 2 days before. (Needless to say- if my first alert is set at 15 min before and my second is set for 2 days before, that’s impossible, and I receive no alert at all).
Was the best...
by Robsconi on 2019/09/25 13:34
I use my calendar everyday, especially for work related appointments, reminders, and personal use, etc. When I first began using Week Cal, it was the best calendar app I've used. Very intuitive and customizable. UPDATE: I recently updated the app. The main reason I loved this app was it would search my ENTIRE calendar for past events (unlike the native calendar on my iPhone which only goes back or forward 12 months). After the update it only goes back approximately 6 months. I used to be able to hit a settings button and change how far back or forward to search for events. It now appears the settings button has been disabled as I can’t click on it. Has this feature been moved to only the “Pro” version? If that’s the case, I’ll use a different app. To do an update and not tell us we’ll be losing certain features is not cool. Please advise as I would love to give a 5 star rating.
My favourite calendar!
by MarthaJones on 2018/11/10 13:30
I have used this calendar for over a year now, and have also tried several others. This is the best of the bunch I've tried. I really like the look and feel of it, and the ease of adding FB and Google calendars to it. The repeat event feature is also quite good - it is very easy to set up repeating events on odd schedules. My problem is with events on FB that you have declined - these events stay on your calendar, and there is no way to remove them. You end up with events you don't want cluttering up your calendar with no way to distinguish which you are going to without viewing the entry. If that were fixed, I's find this app pretty much perfect. Updated: No longer have the FB event problem! Thanks!
No longer worth using (update to review)
by Cousteau009 on 2020/09/29 04:26
I’ve been a long time user and like many I paid for the app many moons ago.
Great Calendar
by LightHearted43 on 2020/10/13 07:17
I have been using this calendar for years now.
Best calendar app ever!
by JT - Psychologist on 2018/12/02 19:11
Out of the various electronic calendars and calendar apps I have tried, this has been the best, and is now the only one I will never use. - Excellent options for layout, including one week at a time (which looks like a paper calendar). - Able to adjust in multiple ways, including the number of hours (and the specific range) shown in the normal view. - Shortcut menu that makes quick work of common options, such as color coding events (I use different colors for: work, personal, and medical); copying and pasting an event; and sharing an event. - Since it is linked with the regular iPhone calendar, everything on that calendar automatically shows up on this calendar and vice versa.
Best calendar app!
by NYC multi-tasker on 2018/03/20 20:32
Just an addendum: please add a today button to the bottom of each screen. Otherwise perfect! Just discovered rolling appointments. Best ever: if I have a call to make or task to do, it rolls from day to day until I complete it! It's my mother telling me to get with the program, but in color with cut icons!! I have found this application be absolutely perfect. It synchs flawlessly with the native iPhone cal with the added advantage if color-coded appointments and the ability to program it do that every time an appointment says lunch, it shows automatically in the same color with a knife and fork icon. I do the same for birthdays, doctors and other repeating themes. A quick glance tells you what you have going on by color and icon.
Shady tactics! 😡
by ecfc3 on 2018/09/08 17:01
I had previously bought this app, been using it for years, and have been very satisfied. That is, up until this last update. What used to be part of the app (after one-time fee) now requires you to pay $7.50/yr. You can’t even use basic features, like scrolling to other months, without paying for this premium version! Every time I try to scroll to Aug 2018, I get a pop-up window requiring me to subscribe and pay. If I don’t, it takes me right back to Sept. If they’re going to charge for special features (especially ones that separate them from the rest of the pack), that’s one thing. But the fact that we’re now being charged for something that’s basic to all calendar apps feels so shady. This app has been so part of my daily routine, that I’ve been debating for the past few days if this new charge is worth it. But alas, I can’t help but feel betrayed and so will be looking elsewhere for a daily calendar.
Look No Further!
by Jedasourus on 2018/11/10 02:14
This is it! Look no further. It's the smartest, easiest, most intuitive and user-friendly weekly calendar in existence. There it is, my whole week laid out right in front of me...fantastic! I love this app! ...Just love it! I've been using this app for years and won’t even consider using anything else. My medical clinic use their own scheduling app and it is useless compared to this one. I have complete satisfaction and couldn't be happier. This is no joke: 5+++++ well-earned stars. (Another thing: I contacted them once by email and they got back to me within a day and personally addressed my question -- very impressive.) Don’t hesitate, get it and you'll be the one giving this app five stars.
App seems unsupported now - used to be 5* now 1*
by daschles on 2020/01/14 03:14
I’ve used this for many years and am quite dependent on it - it displays calendars like no other and is infinitely customizable. But! Search has been broken for months and support seems oblivious to just how important a feature this is. They answer politely but do nothing. It seems they no longer have interest in maintaining the app. I’ve had to buy and load a second calendar app just to use the search. Alas its other features don’t match weekcal so now I have two loaded which seems stupid. My original review —Of all the apps on my phone, I'm most dependent on this one. It is a great calendar, with terrific customization options. I couldn't be happier. It was one of by best purchases when it first came out, and each upgrade makes that first investment more and more of a no brainer. Really terrific. I should say I’ve used this for a decade now - very happy
Loved this app until recent IOS update - contacts issue
by 3M Trouble on 2019/10/29 20:41
I have used this app as opposed to the Apple cal app for years. Since the most recent IOS update - when making an appointment- my calendar will not recognize my contact names in the invitee contact prompt - they just spin. I have to manually enter the email and then when my family receives - they don’t see within their calendar app - they have to accept within their email. I have checked and this steps works perfect within my Apple calendar. My IT engineer within my firm has checked all of my settings - and he is certain it’s a flaw within Week Cal app. I emailed through the app help section yesterday and received a reply - working on and will get back to you - and have heard nothing. Is anyone else struggling with the same issue?!!!
Very Good App–almost perfect!
by Satisfied & Blessed on 2018/12/03 16:29
This app provides different options that many of the other calendars do not offer, including the Apple’s resident calendar. One option that I have sought after for a very long time is an app that will allow you to search from the beginning of your calendar entries and notes. This one does!!! One simply has to open the search button at the bottom of the main page and select the settings wheel at the top, then choose the Start & End calendar dates desired. This may have to be done at different times, however, since I have not yet learned how to make my choice the default. Learning this would make this app almost perfect.
Solid Calendar App
by Sw291 on 2018/01/03 20:24
I've been using this app for several years now. I've found it to be superior to the stock calendar app that the Apple iOS provides. Like many people, I have a very busy schedule - and I use this app numerous times throughout each day. I particularly like the rolling events feature with the "competed" button. This allows me to use the calendar as a To-Do list of sorts. It also synchs seamlessly with the iOS cloud so that my laptop and iPad remain updated. When the reminder to write an Eval for this app popped up as I was preparing to make an entry, I realized how valuable and reliable this app has been for me. Example: I just purchased a new battery and I was placing a reminder for 42 months into the future to annotate the battery's end of warranty. I also will enter several custom alarm reminders in the months preceding that date to remind me to check the status of the battery. It's a great app that has become a big part of helping me track all of the important little details of a busy life. I'm not sure that I could give a better recommendation.
Good app, but search no longer works since iOS13, + no developer response
by Lady Woodlark on 2019/12/30 16:37
A while back, I would have given this app 5 stars. I’ve been using it for several years and it’s a great improvement in flexibility over Apple’s Calendar. But a couple of issues have surfaced. 1. Since iOS13 was installed on my phone, the search function only searches the current couple of days. The gear icon with which you could set former or future date parameters is greyed out. I generally don’t need to search for something I’m doing right now— I want to know, for instance, when did I last see this friend, doctor, biz associate? When did we plan that event for next year? 2. I paid twice for the version I have in order for the purchase to register, and the developers never responded to my emails about the issue—or another issue that had also popped up about a year ago. 3. The “fully unlocked” version for 25 bucks might or might not be worthwhile—gee, is that where I’d get the search function back that I used to have available in this less expensive paid version? But I’m not interested in investing more in an app whose developers don’t respond. I hope they’ll respond now. Thank you.
Watch out, sketchy behavior.
by Scott👨‍💻 on 2018/10/03 18:46
I have been a long time user of this app and already paid for it. Now they slip in ridiculous limitations in the latest update that take away basic features unless you pay for a subscription. This is against Apple’s policies and will be reported (and I recommend everyone else does as well). This kind of behavior is what makes apps fail. Everyone will switch to better alternatives when you take away things they previously had! I emailed support and they wasted my time but eventually gave in and fixed it. (Not sure if they allowed it for us my Apple ID or fixed it within the latest update). I’m glad I can use the app as normal again but I feel hesitant to recommend this app to anyone going forward after the crap they tired to pull.
I don’t get it…
by Adamkan1 on 2018/03/22 18:58
OK so the app actually deserves four stars minimum, but I’m giving it one to accentuate this simple point-I messaged them and ask them this question and they gave me a stupid answer like we can’t Satisfy all of our users requests, which is ridiculous. What I asked was simply one of the features that was in the iPad app be available on the iPhone and vice versa with a different features, it’s super simple and easy to do I don’t get why they don’t do that because that simple thing is a huge problem for me. I want to see only three days or four days in my week view on the iPad app, and I want to Be able to choose multiple events in order to move or copy them in the iPad app both of these are respectively available in the other one… Seems ridiculously simple to just add the features especially since I already paid a lot of money for both of the apps! Fix this dammit!

Why are you forcing us to see other countries holidays! We should be able to delete these as we don’t want to see them in our calendars! Even though you are considering them as a US holidays, you can’t force us to see them! I paid $$$ for this phone and I should be able to control it the way I want not the way you want! I own this phone and it’s mine and I should be able to do whatever I want to see on my calendar!

by Zzilogy on 2020/10/19 23:53
I've used this app for years- suddenly with the last update I can't even look at next month or at previous month's without it requiring me to upgrade to premium. From free for TWENTY BUCKS a year. When google calendar does the exact same for free. Very disappointing. The developers are clearly only interested in our money, no loyalty to those who've been using it for years. What a shame that I have to delete several years of previous events. I use them a lot as reference.

Any alternatives to this that don’t rip off their customers?

by rsanc050 on 2020/09/30 22:19
I purchased this app several years ago. After the recent upgrade, pop ups have appeared wanting me to upgrade for $20. I’m unable to scroll to the next month without the pop up coming up. Very disappointing and I’ll stop using if no resolution.

No longer worth using (update to review)
by Cousteau009 on 2020/09/29 04:26
I’ve been a long time user and like many I paid for the app many moons ago.

This was my go to calendar app until your latest update. Now every time I look at something it has that upgrade to pro. I now will not be using it anymore. Thanks Update. Thank you for removing the upgrade to pro! You are now again my go to app!!
They listened to their users

Can’t Edit
by Zack Daddy101 on 2020/09/25 17:51
This used to be a 5 star calendar app, and should be at least a 4 star app, but now I can’t even edit anymore.

Add ons
by Daddywilma on 2020/09/25 05:06
I give the app 3 stars.

Great Calendar
by LightHearted43 on 2020/10/13 07:17
I have been using this calendar for years now.
