Not worth the money
by R2__D2 on 2020/10/23 11:49
This is an expensive app relative to others of its type. The developers and owners consistently restrict and tighten features for non-paying members such as the inability to see profile photos that are unlocked, the inability to screen save photos, restrictions on the number of profiles that you can view. They don’t understand that not everybody can afford to pay $15 a month for membership when there are many they want to be a part of. Several features don’t work consistently. Not well-maintained and certainly not worth the money.
Terrible app

Cash grab
by vaporlockd on 2020/10/20 11:45
The grids are so slow to update with new data, this isnt an engaging app. Open it, check once, then put it away because it takes forever before it’ll refresh and you see new faces. User engagement is a major part of an app... this fails. Yea its free. And it acts as such. Way too expensive to pay for - ya don’t get any value. The developer responses on here seem canned and real tone deaf.
Not worth it
by JuiceHoagie on 2020/10/12 23:39
They banned my account because they decided I have a baby face and therefore am underaged (rude!). This fact came after they did not respond to my service request for several days (on one of those days they combined my service requests and then ignored the message <3). They gave me the opportunity to scan my personal ID to them to reactivate my account but honestly Grindr is better with less hassle. Don’t download, it isn’t worth it.
Banned for?
by JESSEJAMIL on 2020/10/12 19:02
So i havent had scruff in over like 3-4 years and apperantly im banned and i really wanna know why im banned and if i could get info on it cause i never really used the app so maybe ur banning people just cause but anyways would like to know your reasoning behind this 🙃
Eh
by ShawnE. on 2020/10/11 06:43
You’ll find muscular bears who are only into muscular bears. You’ll find chubs only into muscle. Same bs app. Whether it’s Grindr or growlr. Same guys everywhere. Also now you can download the photos from guys who unlock for you? Seriously? Whatevs. I think bumble is a better experience.
Do not recommend
by MrawesomeT on 2020/10/10 00:49
I highly am disappointed in the bigotry this app presents. Out of all the “tolerant” communities, Scruff does not have tolerant owners!
Awful

Awful. They deleted my picture even tho i had it for months. If u dont pay u get banned.
Too Few Blocks
by nirocha on 2020/10/09 15:05
Number of blocks should not be restricted to non-pro users. Privacy and self-protection are inherent rights, not something you should have to pay $15 a month for. Kind of shameful that platforms are adopting this method more due to greed than anything else. Be more creative about incentivizing pro, instead of holding the concept of privacy hostage.
Allows harassment
by mikenificient on 2020/10/08 11:09
This app has a lot of weirdos on it and the developer tries to extort you if you try to block them. After you block so many guys they quit allowing you to block anybody else unless you pay for a membership which is allowing bullying and harassment in the community. It is like extortion. Blocking should not be a paid thing no one should have to suffer from weird people
Ridiculous terms of use
by A CountryBoywithABigOne on 2020/10/08 01:04

User friendly
by Rowdyinwranglers on 2020/10/04 05:49
As apps go Scruff is one of the easiest to navigate , but one think they keep touting I’d the “ Match” feature which is a joke. The majority of the guys they put on my list daily are 300-600 Miles away. The rest are totally opposite of what I look for. Instead of match they should call it “ random lists of guys

Ughhtughh
by DaLouieV on 2020/09/17 15:58
Scruff will always be better than Grindr, Think bots bots bots! Anyway, as of latest update, they legit took away the ability to screenshot! Not only that, but then all pix are locked, even my own pictures!! The subscription pricing to your service is not equal value of what is provided. Granted, there are a lot of less bots, but come on y'all! I'm seeing more ads... ya know what I'm gonna shut up. I'm gonna continue to use it as infrequently as I do, it serves its purpose... to simply pass the time!
Poor Customer Support!
by D N/A on 2020/09/16 15:33
First off every time they update the app it becomes less appealing! It is nothing like it use to be and a lot of great features have been taken away. Secondly, if you aren’t in your 20s or have an Adonis body be ready to have your pics scrutinized by their moderators! I submitted a picture that shows barely 2” of underwear fabric just above a mirror frame and it was rejected. When I contested it through there customer support, which is what you’re directed to do if you feel it’s rejected in error, I was dismissed and told never to use support again unless it’s serious. I sent pictures along with my complaint of other approved profiles with guys full body underwear pictures, semi-hard, full outlines and pubic hair showing but of cours about 10 years younger and off the cover of a magazine or clearly packing a monster. I was told to go report them, not the point! I even went as far to reach out to both Eric Silverburg and Johnny Skandros themselves about their customer support and bias handling with their policies, nothing. I’ve never reached out to the CEO and founders of a business and had them act as if they could care less about their paying customers. I’ve been a member since Scruffs infancy and a paying member for most of it. About to lose one more for poor customer service, all for absolutely ridiculous reasons! ***UPDATE***The response to the issue of poor customer support is to contact customer support about customer support. I some how don’t thank Daniel O is going to do anything about his own customer service skills or correct the issue I’ve already contacted him multiple times about. Why should he care to act any different when the CEO and founder seem to not care and this is the kind of response that a bad review gets on the App Store? ***UPDATE 2.0*** Contacted Scruff Support AGAIN because that’s what the Developer said to do, though I’m sure I was probably complaining to Daniel O about Daniel O. My ticket went days being ignored and then was just closed with no response. Can I give negative stars?
Hostage for $$$
by daniel boom on 2020/09/15 21:33
Beware, they blur and hold your conversations & pictures hostage for money. They go as far as altering a basic function of your device by blocking any kind of screenshot. What a lame way of doing business. Apple should remove from App Store.
Can’t complain - too much, anyway.
by dru_94 on 2020/09/10 05:26
The free version of the app is good. I don’t have any complaints, besides the fact that I can’t read old messages! Seriously, it’s kinda ridiculous. To have to pay to be able to read the chat I shared with someone else? No other app that I’ve ever used has required this. If I didn’t get as many guys on here as I do, I’d have long ago deleted it for that reason alone.
Atrocious concept.
by syshshshsh on 2020/09/09 18:10
App itself functions at 4 stars. Concept, garbage. Back 30 years ago, gays were closeted and afraid to be out in public. Now they’re all sitting on their phones, hiding, lurking, and ultimately using an almost completely non-accountable form of communication to slowly lure people to them, making it seem as if there’s a mutual desire, when often times it’s completely selfish in nature. In SF at least, so many “tech” dudes that have no social skills outside of work, a bar, or social networks. So many open relationships. So many married men. So many Muscle4Muscle torsos and chests. It’s disgusting. I am also someone who can strike up a conversation with anyone in real life and not be embarrassed or anxious. So this seems like a step back for me. THE WORST PART: The ability for people to just put “PReP” in their profile and have seemingly fearless sex multiple times per month with multiple partners. Herpes, Clam, Syph, all of these are on the rise and somewhere like Strut doesn’t test for herpes or other diseases that are just as serious as HIV in my opinion. The app acts like it’s the best, full of features, and just amazing, when in reality, it is garbage, confusing, missing so many key features, and promotes lack of empathy to other human beings (unless they fit into your desires) Furthermore, they dangle “high ranking” hot dudes on your main page to keep you clicking and clicking and clicking.
Scum app
by LoneWolfpack.exe on 2020/09/09 07:03
Scruff has been a scummy app for a long time, but this takes the cake. Every update is an attempt to eliminate basic features we had before in the app in hopes of getting you to subscribe. This more recent update takes away the feature of taking a screenshot from a photo someone sends you. If the purpose was to protect users, fine. But, if you subscribe for $15 a month, then you can save the photo. Garbage app, garbage company. Bye Felicia!
Updates again?!

Members and performance
by CJW6980 on 2020/09/06 18:54
This app is filled with undercover cops asking you if you party, which is slang for do you do meth I found out. After talking to a police officer here in NY. I was told that the person on the profile picture isn’t what you see and can be a cop fishing for information. Be very cautious of the people you meet on this app. My block button doesn’t work and I have contacted scruff three times and it hasn’t been fixed. If you’re gonna use this app only use the free version because it’s just a playground filled with undercover cops looking to entrap you into illegal drug activity.
When you come out it doesn’t get better
by raymyndo on 2020/09/06 06:30
Terrible app full of self absorbed guys. Guys who feel they can be mean and cruel. Guys who feel they can be jerks just because they are a certain ways. I hate this app makes me hate myself having to kiss ass and lower my standards just to try and impress older guys who lets face it want to commit some form of sexual abuse. Seriously, one guy told me he wanted me to worship him and be his slave. A terrible place to come to if you just came out. You come out to a community full of creeps and perverts who make you feel useless. I hope your app gets shut down.
Every update means less features.
by -JessInTx- on 2020/09/05 22:38
scruff is really going out of their way to eliminate the most basic features in their app in hopes of getting you to subscribe. This more recent update restricts you from taking a screen shot from a regular shared photo, I can understand restricting it for the expiring photo. However, if you subscribe for $15 a month, you can save the photo! No Thanks.

Ad overload; poor moderation
by RickSanchez007 on 2020/08/31 02:17
Lots of ads. Limited number of blocks with the free version, which wouldn’t be so bad if they actually banned people who harass you. I have reported multiple people for non-stop messages with hate speech and I still see these people in Most Woofed. Toxic community.
Wasted time/ sketchy company
by winwdc on 2020/08/30 04:11
This app has so much wrong with it. All you have to do is sort the reviews to show “most recent reviews” for scruff and you’ll see one star reviews after another. From the fake profiles to the racial bias embedded in its code, Scruff is an app not worth your time or trust.

Criminals in the Scruff app community
by Chocoyo11 on 2020/08/26 17:40
Very disappointed with the lack or zero attention to a report I made to Scruff regarding a robbery that happened to me by one of the members in the app. The member that I met robbed me when approaching his car. He than proceeded to block me, but not before I reported his profile to Scruff. The person in the photo was not the same person I met. This happened 2 days ago and I’m still waiting for an update of the criminal act that was committed to me. I no longer feel safe meeting members from this site since nothing is being done regarding my tragic experience.
DO NOT USE
by LHBuddy on 2020/08/25 13:29
I used this app for a couple years, didn’t have much success because the guys on here are just the guys that got kicked off Grindr. I had an issue with a queen that was upset because a guy he was interested in was talking to me. He asked me for my link to my videos so I sent it to him and after I did he reported me for spam. The moderator(s) suspended my profile without asking for my side of the story and gave no clear indication as to how long the suspension would last and I got no response when I tried to appeal their nonsense so I deleted my profile and I swore I will never use their app again. Horrible customer service. Zero features inside the app. I never opened the app unless I got a message because everyone I know uses Grindr.

If it was good enough
by Mydon on 2020/08/21 22:40
If it was good enough to upgrade, you wouldn't have to force us to do it. Didn't notice the features you hobbled identified on your list. Ever notice the release notes look the same for half a year? But they never mention the actual changes. Bah.
Looking young has it's cons
by StephenAndrew93 on 2020/08/21 19:54
My profile got suspended because I apparently violated multiple terms. I “posted a picture of someone who was under aged.” First of all, that picture was of me. Second of all, I can't control the fact that I look way younger than I am. I am 27 years old. But I guess this is God's/The Universe's way of telling me that I have no business being on this app.
Really??
by Belle et la B on 2020/08/20 05:40
You can’t even take a screenshot of a pic they send you anymore? We have to just let the non disappearing photo go to waste when you guys erase the messages from us two responses later? You guys are trash.

by sam1184 on 2020/08/07 03:18
Not sure who had the bright idea that I want to see a baking show in my feed. If you're here for that kind of dumb stuff, there's plenty of other apps. Work on your platform instead of bloating it with a features no one asked for.

It’s a finite clientele
by Soitsme on 2020/08/03 11:26
Even though it’s one of the better apps, it keeps trying to be grindr. Which is a horrible app. The uptake in adds is sad. I get it. You need make money, but it can be done in a less intrusive way. Lose a star The new Beta Bear mode is a why would you want to narrow down your clientele like that. It already mostly swinger bears. Will there be an otter mode, swingers mode, looking for just friends mode etc. and what steep price will you ask for it? It’s the same local people over and over. Yawn. Its also the same people in all the other categories. It’s a finite clientele. I’ve been in this app since it first appeared. And it’s quite pricy. Yikes! Part of me just says ‘why?’. People would actually pay to see the same 100, 200 guys in there feed on a daily basis. Lose a star.
Recommend with a few reality checks
by Darius3000 on 2020/08/02 02:49
Probably one of the best user interfaces out there and puts Grindr to shame. Remember that the app can’t calm a chicken’s nerves or make guys meet you in person. Remember everyone reaches an age at which no one will even look at you or talk to you. Waiting for the next best thing y tuition come along is where this app really fails its members.
No way to confirm
by Octavio maldonado on 2020/07/29 19:34

Ad overload
by jackfoto on 2020/07/22 23:45
The increase in ads makes this very frustrating to use. If they don’t cut that down, I will leave. It’s drastic and the same reason I left Grindr. Please stop!
Ads!
by NefariousAryq on 2020/07/21 21:13
Yeah I know it’s “free” but it’s gotten SUPER aggressive with the ads as of late. Subscription pricing is, honestly, ridiculous and the amount of ads isn’t going to change my opinion on that. If anything, I’ll just end up leaving- not subscribing.

Pumping out too many ads
by MdotR_ on 2020/07/18 11:05
It’s turning into Grindr. You used to have a reasonable amount of ads that was fair for free use. Now you’re putting out way too many. I shouldn’t be seeing ads every time I click on a person. Within 15 seconds of opening the app I am seeing a minimum of 5 ads. 15 seconds. Not minutes. I get it. You’re likely struggling due to the pandemic. But so are we. Don’t punish us.
Now with WAY too many pop-ups...

Was one of my favorite.
by Chucky1992 the original on 2020/07/13 12:45
I liked the app a bit better than some of the others. This last update of the user agreement (which I do t always read) required me to consent for them to get too much of what should be my private information. I understand collection for statistical data but why do they need my phone details, carrier information and browser information and history of use. No thank you. I only agreed to it long enough to delete my account.
Removing ethnicity filter was stupid
by Spontini2 on 2020/07/12 06:02
You can’t make white guys be attracted to me by removing a filter. And honestly I like to search for Black men. If you’re going to try to dictate equality in sexual attraction the why not eliminate all filters, age, etc. You have made the app worse not better.

This app requires you to pay to block stalkers
by Lamar63088 on 2020/06/28 22:38
You should not have to pay for the “pro” version to keep people who demean, harass and/or stalk you from being able to contact you. That isn’t something that should be withheld to line your pockets.
Black Lives Matter
by Cheki85 on 2020/06/21 17:48
I haven’t been on the apps in awhile because, you know, once in a lifetime pandemic and all, but I got tired of looking at cute boys outside my window. Tentatively, I dipped my toes back into the hookup app waters, just for a casual browse and perhaps an occasional chat. The events of the last few weeks, however, made me incredibly sensitive to the fragility of my black body and I wanted to send a message to everyone else on the grids: that black lives matter everywhere. I uploaded the BLM logo to my Grindr, Jack’d, and Scruff profiles. The first two accepted it with no problem, but Scruff rejected it multiple times until I sent a support request. They allowed it for about a day before rejecting it again, citing their guidelines. The same company that owns Scruff also owns Jack’d, btw. While it was annoying, Scruff’s decision felt like a continuation of the erasure and marginalization I’ve experienced as a queer black man on these apps. Erasure and marginalization that’s built into the very apps. Scruff shows little to no consideration for black people as it is but it’s a shame when Grindr has better practices than you.

Update Not Working
by rarewriter88 on 2020/06/17 01:35
Just updated to the newest version, and now I can’t open the app. I have restarted my phone several times, but to no avail. The app worked fine until I updated it today. Hoping if enough people post issues it will be fixed sooner than later...
After 8 years...
by Wombatmatty on 2020/06/16 16:35
After eight years, I’ve deleted my profile and the app. The guys on here are just duplicates of nearly every other app. And since there aren’t as many here is there are another apps, you have more success elsewhere. Wow I get hundreds of messages, many of them from all across the world, I’ve only met a handful of people in those eight years. Ultimately, the app has been suffering a lot of bugs and glitches in the past few months. The developers are great. Yet the glitches that I run into are beyond annoying. Even when I try to submit feedback using the app for why I deleted my profile, the app kept sending me back into the feedback form. I could never even submit it. That’s my point. Add to that the constant messages I get that say my messages were not delivered even though someone is responding to them… it’s a very niche app. The user base is smaller than others, and generally I think friendlier. It just feels more like a penpal app than anything else. A big factor for me is a limit on blocks. I do love how you can have a large profile.
Used to be better
by Angry non-bird on 2020/06/14 16:51
They have jumped on the ‘squeeze every nickel out of you’ bandwagon. You have to ‘upgrade’ at a hefty monthly price to use the most basic of features. Enough already. Greedy.

Messaging privacy is not adequate
by LagunaBeachDan on 2020/06/05 04:41
What does “clear conversation” mean to you? It means BOTH SIDES, right? Not in Scruff land. It means THE OTHER PERSON KEEPS IT and only you can’t see it anymore. WORSE, THEY NEVER TELL YOU THIS. MESSAGING PRIVACY IS WAY BEHIND THE TIMES.
Paywalls everywhere
by RickBarros on 2020/06/03 18:42
The free version has gotten more and more bareboned over the years. Pics sent to you will be blocked locked and paywalled in the same day. It’s insane. I’ve seen grindr take features available in the free version and shift it to the premium unlocked version but scruffs been doing it too apparently. Can’t even message people properly without getting paywalled. Nah. Zero stars if I could. Appalling.
Can’t filter by age
by entropicf0rce on 2020/05/31 15:45
Pretty terrible app. Unless you are only interested in guys above 40, this app is useless for you. Age filtering is a PRO feature, meaning you have to wade through a bunch of old guys to find maybe 1 young person. You can’t even try using their tinder-esque matching feature, because it cuts you off for 24 hours after you swipe through enough people. Not sure how people like this app.
Useless App
by emoticon on 2020/05/24 17:49
The majority of users are coupled, so since they require you to pay to filter out couples, it becomes near impossible to navigate. They say it’s a community for everyone while trying to claim its a great way to to date. Unfortunately, when you quantify dating status, you create a hookup environment and excluding a very real demographic. By the way... Scruff MATCH has matched me with coupled people, so that feature is just as flawed. Developer does not address consent issue AT ALL. When contacted via Scruff Support, all you get is thanks for the feedback. Despite what the developer says, Scruff is not Singles friendly.

by Sahba78 on 2020/05/02 20:35
Now that I don’t have scruff pro, I can’t even block someone who is sending harassing messages. It keeps telling me get pro again. Really horrible. It used to be my favorite dating app. With new updates, I think I better deactivate my account.
Meh nothing special
by Danbp1 on 2020/04/29 11:51
As hook up platforms go this is as middle of the road as there is. The Scruff Match has zero matching algorithms I can see. I have been matched to women, trans, and boys as young as 18 and as old as 80. I live in a country which does not allow me to travel to places with which we do not share diplomatic relations yet I’m bombarded with people from those countries in Scruff Match. A little common sense and or r/o criteria should be part of it. There is no video upload either. So this version is mediocre
No support.

It’s better than Grindr
by No Light Thing on 2020/04/26 09:24
I’ve been using this app on and off. When I am using it, I just love how it’s structured, the ads aren’t annoying at all, and it’s just made fluid and super not buggy. AND it doesn’t hog your battery hostage! When I’m paying the monthly, oh my goodness, it’s endless and worth it. I do find more meaningful conversations on this app compared to the others. I love it’s global around the world feature. I’ve talked to some pretty great guys there, hopefully one I’ll get to call mine forever after this covid thing. Uhhh what else... idk. It’s pretty great. If you can afford it, go pro. If you can’t, it’s still a great experience.
Way to expensive.
by Trev4444444444 on 2020/04/22 05:31
I love scruff but unfortunately their free app has become less and less. I used to pay for the premium and but the prices have just got ridiculous and it’s hard to want to pay for an app that has a shrinking audience.
Device and account suspended
by RWBJr21 on 2020/04/22 00:35
My account and my device were suspended for a picture that was uploaded by accident and no I not only can’t access my old account but I can’t make a new account either. Before my account got suspended I sent multiple messages to jack’d support about have death threats sent to me by an anonymous account. I never got a response back from jack’d support and I ultimately just had to block the account. A friend of mine was also harassed by the same account and nothing was done for him either.

Great App!
by Bukouras on 2018/08/24 14:33
I recommend this app for scruff guys and all guys of every kind. I don’t view it as a “hook up” site, and believe although the option is there, it’s also a great place to make new friends. The “venture” feature is amazing and unique for these types of apps. It allows you to search guys in any area around the entire world. If you plan on traveling, I definitely suggest utilizing this feature to meet guys online before you arrive. This enables you to meet potential date, no matter what intent, and allows you to learn about the good spots friendly to our sexuality! I did this when traveling several times, and all I can say is I was very happy and fortunate to have this app. I believe you can get a free trial before upgrading to “Pro”, which will allow you to familiarize yourself with Scruff, and realize why upgrading is not only the best route, but is fair in features and price. Try it out! It’s undoubtedly the best tool out there for meeting new guys. I’d just like to add (because it’s happened to all of us), men on here are way more friendly and courteous. They try to constantly out-do themselves, and will even ask for your opinion or suggestions on any potential changes, but it’s unlikely as this app provides just about everything! Xoxo
Young gay hot men! Try Scruff!
by Hank 68 on 2019/03/17 02:30
Without a doubt Scruff delivers a daily feast of gay men. You can spend hours reading the profiles and viewing face photos of aspiring young gay men on your Smartphone in the privacy of your home or office. You are allowed to “woof” any man that you might fancy. This is purely your individual choice. You can even contact any of these individuals if their profile offers any interest to you. It is up to the individual you try to contact to message you back. It may be problematic as to whether you receive a message back because that is based on mutual interest of looks, hobbies, business interests and numerous other factors. These factors can be included under the very general term of “chemistry”. The basic plan is free. You are limited on the number of guys you can view. It is still very generous on the number of men you can view. For a nominal monthly fee you can upgrade to the “Pro” plan. With this plan you can view many more gay men along with their profiles as well as message any guy you might want. It is very addictive to browse the guys. It is very entertaining as well. I would highly recommend this app! If you are a gay man I guarantee you will enjoy yourself!
It’s like that gay version of Facebook
by NailedOne on 2019/04/03 15:27
When I decided to find a new man in my life I joined Scruff and started chatting with guys who live nearby. Seeing how close some guys are is nice because you can both choose whether or not you want to develop a relationship with someone before you get to know them. Something that takes a bit of getting used to though is that the distance that this app shows you is as-the-crow-flys distance. In other words, my boyfriend lives 37 miles away according to the app, but in actuality he’s about an hour’s drive away from me. It might be nice if Scruff utilized Google maps to give you the driving distance instead of what it gives you because it can be misleading. I ultimately found the man of my dreams on Scruff and me and my boyfriend now use Scruff to communicate with each other. We also have an agreement that we can flirt with other guys as long as we’re not looking for potential hookups. Scruff has been wonderful. I have met a lot of new friends in addition to finding my new boyfriend. This app has changed my life for the better!
Rude support, not responsive to customer requests
by Urban Panther on 2018/05/15 00:33
The developer needs to learn that a feature may be working as designed, but if it doesn’t work the way their customers want it to, it’s not working correctly. Paid version only allows a maximum of 2000 blocks and hides, because (according to Scruff support), more than that causes app performance to degrade unacceptably. Other dating apps have solved this problem, but Scruff support were adamant that it’s not a problem and therefore they are not going to change how this works. Instead, they directed me to use their search feature, which also isn’t as robust as it could be, and doesn’t solve the problem I have, which is that the only way to get different guys to show up in my feed is to block or hide the ones who are already shown (so that there is room for other profiles to be displayed). Again the answer from Scruff support was “this is working as designed and we’re not going to change it.” These answers would be unacceptable from the company I work for, and pretty much any other company I’ve encountered. This developer needs to learn that their paying customers are their most important customers, and the customer is always right. Again, “working as designed” is not the same as “working correctly” if it’s not working how your customers want it to.
App redesign kills Scruff
by Priapus__ on 2019/12/28 14:46
Unfortunately, after paying hundreds of dollars over the years to the Scruff developers, I won’t be giving them another dollar and I’m not alone... The app is going the way of Grindr rapidly because of delusional decisions in management, seemingly related to social engineering causes. They significantly lowered the refresh rate of the online global grid which facilitated high speed meeting of guys presumably because it allowed for refined selection of potential interests and this competes with the philosophy of the app developers who would like to see a less shallow gay culture. You can’t force people to talk to ugly guys, we will just leave your app for one that does provide gay online dating services at the same level as Scruff used to, and considering the money in this space, it won’t take long. Remember how quick Grindr’s fall was? I just refuse to support a ridiculous development team limiting their app for people who pay over a hundred dollars each year for pro service... especially when it would seem that not data, but instead ideology, is the reason for the regression. At least you now have a great my digital gay yearbook app... young people can just use 4chan or reddit to meet hot young gay guys if your app is broken and artificially delayed, you’re not going to singlehandedly dismantle beauty worship, it’s a feature of sexuality and one that should be celebrated.
Paying member...update ruined experience
by connor from da hood on 2019/06/17 04:10
I’ll start w/ saying Scruff for me has easily been one of my favorite hookup/dating apps, both in ease of use, selection of eligible great guys, and features for lying members. I deleted my Grindr soon after joining as a premium Scruff member because I felt I only ever easily found what I was searching for (with actual follow through) on this app. But all withstanding, this recent update has been abysmal from a technical perspective. Woofs and photo unlocks only seem to work half the time, often you have to fully back out of a chat & profile to see a new incoming message, and don’t even get me started on the photo viewing experience. The best part of premium IMO was the ability to quickly, easily, and fully see a members photo album; to get a better sense of if someone is your type. But now it is almost a pain to view a members full album. If you zoom too much or in a slightly careless way, it completely bumps you out of a user’s photo album back to their main profile, sometimes happening over and over. When you aren’t completely forced out of an album, half the time the zoom feature stops working all together. And will also frequently bump you to a completely different picture than you were viewing. It’s a mess to say the least.
Three reason... +1
by J_C. on 2017/09/22 09:57
I dislike the amount of people that use scruff. That’s it, truthfully, I can’t thing of any other grievances. At first glance the interface is wonky (Being that all gay boys start on Grindr). However, Scruff has amazing capabilities! Everything I could ever ask for in an app of this sort is there, it’s very well thought out. Some of my favorite things are the private photo albums •You can quickly catch a guys attention by unlocking, rather than a nearly invisible ‘hey’•The human body is art, one should capture it is ways that communicate that and share often• I also love the fact that you can jot quick notes about someone for yourself •I don’t have PRO at the moment but this would be something I’d us after every conversation•He likes/dislikes... Don’t talk to him he... *giggles*• Lastly I enjoy the match sectioning the app •I think it’s super cutesy•It keeps me coming back just about every day, there aren’t very many profiles that catch my attention in my area [What can I say, I’m out of their leagues]•It’s an awesome way to see profiles that I do not come by on a day to day bases• Okay, okay, okay; This is really the last one. The ability to search lNo need to elaborate• Truthfully Grindr gets more attention than it deserves and I wish more people would use scruff. Pleeeaasssss make it happen some how!!! But only allow the men... I like men not boys... MEN 😍
So much better than Grindr!
by valued custmr on 2018/08/05 18:19
I have used Scruff nearly for ten years! I have nothing but positive compliments about the company. And it’s not only in comparison to Grindr, who is awful. Scruff’s professionalism is evident in their quality of the app and customer dedication. With scruff I have encountered the following : - dedicated customer support - a response in a timely fashion - a follow on customer/product request - a follow on abuser reporting - service dependability, as for example messages being delivered by either parties, sender(s)/receiver(s) - a human connections when following on on issue - relatable advertising, no Christian mingle or similar no sense. Just product that enhances the livelihood of our community LGTBQ community! No just anyone buying/selling something. I don’t give this praise because I despite Grindr’s platform so much, I know quality when I see it. I can’t wait to see Scruff’s market value and presence exceeds that of overrated Grindr. I would be more happy paying Scruff’s extra service in comparison to unlimited blocks and whatever other nonsense that comes with “Xtra”. * I don’t and never have been employed by Scruff, nor was I compensated in anyway for this review. I enjoy there product and service and will continue to be their valued customer, just as they remember who their real customers are. Thank you, Valued Customer
Scruff is Great But!!
by DJJOEYP on 2017/12/07 18:13
Scruff changed several methods of filtering and blocking in wanted messages. I wish you could set up the app to where when we set up our profiles we only see similar attributes so if I set my profile to Single because I am then when I go to Global I want to see only the single guys Not married not Polyamory not Dating Also if you had more than Global and New maybe have chat rooms where we could then access to do group chat by state, city or continental region. For that matter have one for singles by city married by city. Need more than seeing everyone it’s too much and doesn’t allow one person to use the app like we want from it. I’ve met you guys in NYC several years ago and asked me my opinion back then and I told you that I love what your doing so nothing At the moment comes to mind. But now I’m starting to see several needs. The bar scene is gone and now this is it. So now let’s take it to the next step and create the retro bar scene in Scruff with streaming video chat with Video Bars for men with certain ages. I would love to see you take a FaceTime approach where if you were in a chat and wanted to real-time chat you could. I know that it requires bandwidth for streaming and it’s probably a future release

bluffing advertising to become Pro,
by H2O Dandana ceo on 2019/01/28 15:35
Did the developer know about there advertisement page to become in Pro, that’s stick on the screen and cannot be removed, until I have to cancel all the app. and download it again, and write again the email password, etc,, and then there no way to go to Pro, this happened many times, and with long experience on my iPhone, I tried different time to inform you about it but no body answer, and still this promotion coming and no one care if this offer serious or just bluffing, let us know how to applicat this promotion without sticky way, and be clear to show the way to activate it. for that in my review give just one star, until you resolve this problem seriously.
Out $60 on In-App Subscription
by Puccinissimo on 2017/10/29 19:02
So I made the mistake of taking out a 12 month subscription. All was fine until I updated the app and was presented with a screen that said a new security policy was in effect and you must either "accept" or "decline". I read the new policy which gives Scruff the ability to be Big Brother and mine all the info about you that they can - including your device IP and MAC id. So I decided to "decline" and found I couldn't enter he app. Contacted Scruff regarding some sort of refund for the balance of my subscription and they said they couldn't do anything and to contact Apple. I chatted with Apple support and explained my situation, but Apple has a No Refund After Two Months policy. I asked them what I should do and they said to contact the developer. ..the runaround... I asked for Apple Legal contact info and sent them off an email and of course no response. I'm out sixty bucks, but decided that that amount was fine to pay to keep whatever privacy I have left intact with these thieves.
Better than its competition
by Dystrbd on 2017/12/17 03:48
Scruff is better than the ever so played out Grindr. But you can still do a lot with Grindr that you can no longer with scruff and vise versa. You see a lot of the same flaky people which is a drag. It seems to be faster than Grindr and a lot less adds. I like the ability of having photo albums but dislike the ability to hold onto pics that are previously sent to others. Would be nice just to hit the button and see the previously shared pics. But I see the point of making it only available to paid subscribers. Monthly cost is on the steep side. A cheaper monthly fee would make scruff even more competitive than the competition.
The app acts like it’s the best, full of features, and just amazing, when in reality, it is garbage, confusing, missing so many key features, and promotes lack of empathy to other human beings (unless they fit into your desires) Furthermore, they dangle “high ranking” hot dudes on your main page to keep you clicking and clicking and clicking.

is what we’re looking for on here, in the end. why not come down to the one of most popular spots in town where you can get attention and validation from people who are seeking attention and validation from someone that isn’t you! bored? hop on Scruff. horny? let’s go! sad and having an existential crisis about it you’ll ever meet someone while continuing to engage in toxic social media habits that further distance us as a community by having us pick one another like fresh meat, well then this app is for you! you’ll love when you have a great conversation and then the person disappears. you’ll have such fun overthinking! and if you’re looking for something quick and easy, this is the app for you! careful though, the eager ones get a little clingy.

Good app, disappointed about chat feature
by Prydain12345 on 2018/10/18 16:12
I do generally like Scruff, as I think its better that many of its counterparts. However, I've always been disappointed that you want us to pay to be able to view messages and photos sent in chats after a certain point in the past, especially when this is such a basic (and FREE) feature in so many other dating apps. This is just my opinion, but I don't think I should have to pay to view my complete chat history with a guy, especially when this is such a basic feature of the app. I hope you’ll at least consider making that a free feature, as I think it would make a lot of guys very happy!
Disappointed
by David12534 on 2018/07/16 07:03
I’ve been using this app for quite some time many years to be more accurate and have recently had a profile photo of myself in costume at a convention removed citing that the member is not in the picture basically saying that I don’t exist because the costume was from a specific fandom that all I can gather just simply doesn’t fit their mold and this is after having customer support tell me it was an accident that my picture was flagged and I should be able to post it and now I’m basically being ignored by the support team and my account is now on the verge of being banned for re posting the picture that I was told was ok to post , utterly disappointed in the way this has been handled , pretty much being told to go put my self expression back in the closet ... and by a gay hook up app nonetheless .... honestly I expected better but I’m not surprised
Support and pricing
by The Creator's Creator on 2020/04/04 15:06
I contacted support to ask why when someone send me a pictures I lost the ability to view them again after a few days. No response. Then I lost the ability to allow people to view my private album. It seems like the monthly subscription is extremely high end and not worth the price. And not just Scruff but most apps. Hell at least Grindr offer free use of their premium services sometimes. Sorry but the price to pay for premium service for Scruff is more than I would pay for a dating app especially when the people on the app, which has never to do with Scruff, are so pretentious. Geeze how many people feel they have to have a muscular picture of their body thinking that’s what the gay community is all about. But I digress! Bottom line Scruff offer your service with a little more control and lower your price.
Worlds better than Grindr
by Hendrijo on 2020/02/19 16:45
Scruff is a strong app, and worth the upgrade price. Compared to Grindr which across the board is a garbage app. The only thing wrong with scruff is the picture dimensions, they’re extremely wonky since they’re taller than wide, making for a lot of low resolution crops and workarounds I the consumer side. annoying. But beyond that I would recommend in a heartbeat, plus you can go global or local. Set up plans with that guy before he gets to your city. Instead of chompin at the bit with thirst when he simply appears in your town on Grindr.
Features are actually bugs
by Sweeney38468 on 2019/02/22 02:24
The “Insights” feature seems awesome—why bother someone who’s not into someone your age, or into bears, or what have you. Saves time and rejection, right? Wrong. The Scruff support team insists that the results are based on your last 50 interactions. Well, I’m here to tell you that 100% of my interactions were NOT with 36-45 year old boys next door. In fact, very, very few of them were. But all those 18 year old geeks looking at my profile? As far as they know, I’m not into them. And God knows how many guys I didn’t say hello to because I believed that the Insights were...you know...insightful—and they weren’t into me. It’s one thing to have a dating/hookup app that could work better. Everything can work better. But this app actively works *against* you. Never seen *that* before.
Really? R-E-A-L-L-Y!
by Kdove98 on 2019/06/21 00:29
Just because there’s a beer can in between my legs while fully clothed I can’t upload a picture? Yet half naked people shirtless and being total thots or wearing speedos and empathizing there backsides is perfectly fine? Scrw you! If I paid for this app I’d be way more angry. You guys act like Puritans yet you designed an app for s-e-xxxxx! Why bother if you’re going to censor people for innocuous things like wearing all their clothes while others are fully naked? Don’t act brand new to appease some corporate conservative agenda when you know dang well what you truly are. I’m sick of this FAKE stuff with these fake people/companies who lean on community and “love is love” while making every attempt to steal the piggy bank and throw their loyal customers under the bus at every turn. To heck with you, Scrf. I ain’t paying for a lie!
Discover/global does not refresh like they claim
by Lqqkn4me on 2019/11/28 14:33
Many don’t like the global being removed. Comments from developers say it will refresh if you pull down. It does not refresh until after many attempts. The discover main page changes order but if you are viewing online around the world and use the see more that does not refresh on pull down. Shows the same people. The online around the world disappears sometimes when you pull down to be replaced with something else and you have to keep pulling down to get it back. Then it’s still the same guys when seeing more most of the time. I don’t care to see many of the items in discover so would be nice to choose which ones show in app preferences and the refresh was consistent
This app is a scam
by JaysonW on 2019/02/03 20:22
I find it funny how every time I attempt to upload a picture it’s characterized as “too hot for Scruff” yet I’ve seen multiple profiles with similar pics posted. Mine was a chest pic with no nudity or underwear showing. I saw multiple profiles with underwear and some in direct violation of scruffs “guidelines” yet they’re still posted. I messaged a few of the guys out of curiosity and learned that they all have paid profiles. Coincidence? I think not. So if you don’t want to post a face pic you’re better off not getting this app unless you’re gonna pay to hide your face. The things they’ll do to extort money for features that should be standard. Like being able to see previous messages in a convo, all the pics in someone’s private album and numerous other things. Such a ripoff. Can’t believe Apple allows this app in the App Store.
Good, but in need of work
by JV_SV_80_93 on 2018/04/05 07:19
This app's bones are fairly good, its quite a bit more stable then Grindr was, and the users seem to be quite a bit less on the creeper end of things. But that being said I can't do much of anything outside of messaging people without it being blocked behind a paywall. The app forces you to upgrade to a monthly service to even let you see your full message history, which is just ludicrous to be. It shouldn't require me to spend $10 a month just to see who I messaged or what I messaged to someone a few days ago. If they got loosened the reigns of the paid service a bit and gave free users a little bit more freedom without resorting to forking up every month, it would be a perfect five. Shame.
Discriminatory Business Practices
by Monty G on 2018/03/06 18:16
After nearly 3 years of trouble free membership, Scruff appears to be very biased when choosing to enforce its picture profile guidelines. I have had two previously used photos (for months) flagged for no apparent reason. There was nothing salacious or inappropriate per their guidelines, but the censors still chose to flag my picture - even after submitting the pictures from fellow scruff users for comparison with identical poses and clothing. My tickets to scruff support remain unanswered and they continue to flag my previously used, publication safe photos now out of spite it seems. Needless to say, if you are a minority, steer clear of this racist company! If the person screening the pictures do not like the way you look, you too will find your picture blocked and it will have Nothing to do with their policy.
Not Safe
by -GayDude69- on 2020/02/04 22:33
I met a guy from this app when we originally talked and then ended up found each other from one of the dating sites and we decided to meet and we had a good time until he ended up choking and beating me up that night. I made a report to the police however they said the name and address he gave me was fake and the property was someone’s else and they said I should have write his license plate so they could pull up who this person was. He caught so many lies and they recommended me to report all the apps and sites he used and they all banned his account except this app. I submitted the pictures of us before and after what happened to me. Murf and Marcos from support team did nothing to help to protect people like me. I highly do not recommend this app to anyone otherwise you are on your own risk.
Suspended Profile
by Atlguy31 on 2018/05/22 14:32
After being a paying PRO member for close to 5 years, my profile was suspended yesterday after sending a visitor a website link (I’m guessing that’s what it was - as the reason was vague, said repeated abuse - which there was NONE) who had asked a question about his stay. I’m still not certain what the issue was - filed a report 24 hours ago - ZERO response from Scruff. And my profile is still suspended. Lost several conversations mid stream. If this is how Scruff treats a longtime, paying member, without ANY HISTORY of abuse with nonexistent customer support, I’d hate to see how terrible others could be treated. Of course, Scruff can be a great tool for meeting people, especially traveling, but an issue like this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. Worst customer (non) service I’ve experienced in a long time.
Not a great update
by llundber on 2019/06/07 20:07
Ver 6 Changing fonts usually means you’re running out of innovation. Apple does this every release now. Put the chat and woof buttons back to the right side. It’s bad and difficult as it is now. Probably no one asked for the way too large images sizes. Might want to survey that along with many other “ways things are” in the app. Navigation is improved in some places but very much worse in others. The buttons at the bottom were better on the side. Having the favs button at bottom now means that you have to make effort to get to your top fav favs. Before you just moved slightly into the top of your list. Now you have to move all the way to top of screen. In mobile usage, this is extremely bad. Been needing a link to see the entire profile for a long time now in Match. I don’t think the Global view should default to latest online. Most people aren’t looking for just whatever has popped up. Enable most woof’d to be at top. Do enough people really use Ventures? It’s not a well enough populated resource.
Update
by Tonypetz5 on 2017/08/29 14:00
Update: Okay, I'm actually very happy with the changes and updates they've made over the last year (since my last review). The app is more reliable, and they fixed some in-app glitches and difficulties reported by their customers and users. I'm happy to hear they were responsive and sensitive to the scruff community. :) Original post: The most recent update added hurdles upon hurdles and has made navigating the app tiresome. I've always loved Scruff, but I have no idea what these folks were thinking with this update.
If you can’t get “it” here, you won’t get it anywhere.
by Cole Maverick on 2019/04/10 16:03
The app is great, it’s more about the persons profile, if you have are rude or discriminate in ur bio like no fats no fems or other artist crap or no guys over blah blah age, stuff like that, people block you right away, even if u are cute, no one wants to hook up with a jerk, just sayin lol and please people add pics that actually look like you from this century lol crappy pics or no pics or old pics, will ensure you have a bad experience :/ so be smart be kind be honest and you will get all the nookie or love you can handle! Have fun
So slick!
by bveryfurry on 2017/11/10 03:10
If u r into guys that know what they want, then this is the app for u. No games, easy to get what u want in a dating/hook up and it makes for identifying ur likes and dislikes a no brainer. I would like to Recommend a filter to show who u have chatted with as soon as they show up in proximity. Like an Astrich or a star so u remember when they pop up that u already had a Conversation befoe u have to select their pic again to see if u have chatted already. Some don’t remember as well s others, even with the favorites star feature
kinda creepy
by zachalan on 2020/01/11 23:58
they’ve recently “improved” the format, so now instead of seeing a range of guys worldwide you’re confronted with guys who viewed you, guys you woofed at or guys who woofed at you - it’s incredibly creepy. why would someone want to be confronted with every guy who approached them, or who they approached who then blew them off, every time - is that supposed to be fun? you can block the real creepers from that list, but it eats up your 200 blocks fast - and sure, yes, you could just ignore that the app leads off with guys who stalked you and guys who blew you off, but they could also add a way to disable this “feature” - they could give guys the option of not opening the app to “guys who never got back to you” and “guys who are stalking you”, maybe just lead off with the “eye candy you can’t have 6000 miles away” section instead. other than dredging up bad memories every time you open it the app is pretty great, and you sure can’t beat the price
Audio alerts need to be improved!
by Dayvidpriddy on 2019/06/07 06:39
There has never been audio alerts when you receive a “WOOF” or when someone unlocks their pics for you. I have reported this to the admins NUMEROUS times but they don’t seem interested in fixing this bug/issue. They blame my device saying I don’t have audio alerts enabled when I do! They obviously don’t have the app coded correctly and need to look into the problem instead of ignoring it. I have the same issue on my iPad as I do on my iPhone. PLEASE ADDRESS THESE ISSUES!!! UPDATE 6/7/19: The new pricing for Pro is RIDICULOUS! Are they trying to outdo Grindr’s outrageous pricing? If so, they just knocked it out of the park!
Better user experience than Grindr
by daulyp on 2019/12/13 17:45
Generally a more masc scene than Grindr but that’s not the only reason I prefer it. The user experience is far better than Grindr. The ads are reasonable, not intrusive, and actually relevant. I have never had a problem with spambots or phishing like Grindr has. My only suggestion would be to lift the limit on total blocks, even if you have to limit it per day like Grindr does. I’ve reached my limit because there is no shortage of guys who can’t take a hint or even explicit rejection.
Need to adjust options
by SurfNsand on 2017/11/16 19:53
Love the app because it offers a variety of ways to modify and individualize your personal profile and because the majority of users are courteous and friendly. However, they need to complete certain features. For example, the app lets you state that you are in a polyamorous relationship. However, it does not let you link up to more than one partner... You would think that if the category of polyamorous is available, then someone at Scruff would have thought that enabling more than partner would be a rational profile option to include. I sent them a message about it but received a general thank you response to my submission... twice now. I hope that in the future they actually put into action some of the suggestions from users to improve the quality of the interactions one can have using their social platform. Scruff has been quite innovative. Listening to feedback would only help them improve the product.
DO NOT USE
by LHBuddy on 2020/08/25 13:29
I used this app for a couple years, didn’t have much success because the guys on here are just the guys that got kicked off Grindr.
Options and Consent
by S.robbin.s on 2017/10/15 18:20
This app allows for the full understanding of options that I think people actually do respond to. The ability to write a comprehensive profile, to let people know of interest, to share social media platforms, and the ease with which to share photos (of any nature) has been streamlined. I do wish certain features were more available in the free version of Scruff, but alas it is a profiteering company, slave to capitalism as many of us are. Kudos, Scruff, for providing the services you do.
Discrimination! Possible racism.
by 381S on 2019/04/22 19:56
I have experienced extreme discrimination with regards to the “guidelines and policies” for an appropriate profile picture. My picture was removed because I was in swim shorts. However I have noticed that many other users have not been flagged or asked to remove their more revealing picture. As a test, I screenshot and used a revealing picture (more than mine) of another user, just to see if I was being treated with prejudice. His picture got approved!! I am very disappointed with you all... I need to understand why some can keep their revealing profile pictures and others can’t. Perhaps there’s a some racism behind this??? If so, legal matters may have to take place. I look forward to hearing some kind of response..
Best gay dating app there is!
by Jamesh53 on 2017/07/19 14:32
One idea/suggestion: Can you guys make a feature where two people can link their accounts so that they can talk to all the same people but still have different profiles? Right now my boyfriend and I share one account but it’s hard for people to tell who is talking to them. I want the freedom of my own account but the flexibility to chat in groups. Besides my above idea, the app is amazing. It’s way more than sex. I have made solid friendships.
I like Scruff for the most part except
by JoeyyyyyyyyyD on 2018/01/30 14:37
There are people that I REALLY do not want to talk to on there for various reasons. I hate that Scruff only allows you to block a certain amount of people unless you upgrade to Pro. Even grindr allows you to block unlimited people, although they have it so that you can only block a certain amount each day (still a significant amount of blocks). I could understand if Scruff controlled the amount of blocks that way, but to not be able to block anyone ever again at all after just a few blocks is setting them up for failure. If there’s one reason that I delete this app that’s why...
Latest update = Fail
by SFO CA Traveler on 2019/06/04 15:31
Woke up to a brand new looking scruff Somethings good most things bad… The font is ridiculous I need glasses just to read a profile! Prior to the update I was able to go to the Messages area and simply read messages without having to click on someone’s profile. Now I HAVE to go to the profile just to read the message! If you’re trying to avoid communications with someone, and just read their message… You no longer can! Suggestions of the developer: when doing a major upgrade why don’t you offer a tutorial option for users especially those of us who paid the premium!!
Non paying customers
by Cub-anobear on 2018/09/13 16:02
I’m not clear why “non-paying” customers receive less and less services, a “back of the bus treatment” when it is the non- paying customers that are subjected to most adds...ostensibly one of the BIG sources of income for Scruff. I understand why one wants more paying customers but the imbalance is notable since you need them both as streams of income. Or do the paying customers receive just as many adds??? If not, then you could show a bit more appreciation and treat all customers equitably. It was not always that way with Scruff. Just a thought/suggestion.
Scruff vs Grindr
by blackpanther2O18 on 2018/03/27 02:38
Scruff- Pro- I noticed with Scruff that the app works VERY well. Smooth, never crashes, and the functionality of the entire app is amazing. I haven’t experienced any issues with it. Cons: I don’t like how the majority of the app has “older” guys. I’m 23 years old and I am not interested in 40-50 year olds messaging me. Secondly, I don’t like that you don’t have any flexibility with filtering the “age”of the guys you wanna talk too. You NEED to have the “pro” version compared to Grindr you don’t. I’ve been using Grindr more than Scruff because of those major reasons for me. I wish Scruff will have some flexibility with adding more features for the “free” version. Comparing the two, I would still choose Grindr over Scruff any day.
poor update
by unhappy_app_customer on 2019/11/24 23:08
The global grid was useful, but had different kinds of information. Now we have: guys you have woofed (already in the Woofs section), guys who have woofed you (already in the Woofs section), guys who have unlocked their pics for you (which is already in the Received Albums section) and astrological matches. At least “new guys around you” still comes up occasionally. I think the concept is actually good, but at the expense of the global grid, it’s kind of lame. Otherwise the app is really good and works very well.
Please allow copy/paste in order to translate
by SchwanDude on 2019/01/28 21:35
The app does not allow you to copy text you receive from other users. This would be extremely helpful when chatting with men with whom you do not speak a common language because it would allow you to quickly copy their messages, and paste them to a translation app. Instead, you must try and type their messages which is very tedious. Allowing greater ease to translate would make sense on an app which is meant to meet men from all over the world.
New discover is lame.
by gwichavecustomer on 2020/01/15 17:24
One of the great things that distinguished Scruff from its competitors was the global grid and most wooded. The new discover screen is much worse: even though you can bring back the global grid, it doesn’t update as much (you can refresh multiple time and it’s the same guys), the most woofed only comes up occasionally, and instead I get mostly guys I already woofed at or already matched with (what’s “discovery” about that? I can already access that in other parts of the app) or guys that are “new” but are offline so who knows if and when they check the app. This is a significant downgrade.
Don’t post this. Don’t post that....
by Junaito17 on 2019/09/09 04:40
There is no consistency when it comes to photos being flagged or not approved. Those in the “Most Woofed” sections seem to get their pictures through unchecked even though there are some questionable/boarder line of breaking the Profile photo guidelines. What’s the deal? I’ve even been told, while trying to argue a photo of myself, if I see a picture that is questionable then it’s my job to flag it.🤦🏽‍♂️ But, that’s not my job....I’m not getting paid for it. I This app was great, and I love the new features of multiple photos in the profile and being able to watch clips....but needs to be more consistent. UPDATE And as expected the developers of the app claim to hold the same standard for ALL members. 🤦🏽‍♂️And how it’s the user’s responsibility to monitor other people’s profile pics. My new photo was rejected not because it was flagged by someone else....because my picture never made it that far. It was someone behind the scenes and I am aware of the guidelines because I have always followed them.

Blocking should not be a paid thing no one should have to suffer from weird people
Ridiculous terms of use

by Rowdyinwranglers on 2020/10/04 05:49
As apps go Scruff is one of the easiest to navigate , but one think they keep touting I’d the “ Match” feature which is a joke.

No way to confirm
by Octavio maldonado on 2020/07/29 19:34

by BoloBonobo on 2020/07/23 02:12
Sooooooo many ads now. I guess they want you to become a PRO member which is too expensive. Ads have steady gotten more frequent.
Ad overload
by jackfoto on 2020/07/22 23:45
The increase in ads makes this very frustrating to use.

Now with WAY too many pop-ups...
by sillyrat on 2020/07/15 23:48

If you can’t, it’s still a great experience.

by RWBJr21 on 2020/04/22 00:35
My account and my device were suspended for a picture that was uploaded by accident and no I not only can’t access my old account but I can’t make a new account either. Before my account got suspended I sent multiple messages to jack’d support about have death threats sent to me by an anonymous account. I never got a response back from jack’d support and I ultimately just had to block the account. A friend of mine was also harassed by the same account and nothing was done for him either.
Update keeps crashing the app

Decent app but the recent update made it to where I can no longer open the app. It keeps crashing every time I try
Great App!
by Bukouras on 2018/08/24 14:33
I recommend this app for scruff guys and all guys of every kind.
I do love how you can have a large profile.
bluffing advertising to become Pro,
by H2O Dandana ceo on 2019/01/28 15:35
Did the developer know about there advertisement page to become in Pro, that’s stick on the screen and cannot be removed, until I have to cancel all the app. and download it again, and write again the email password, etc,, and then there no way to go to Pro, this happened many times, and with long experience on my iPhone, I tried different time to inform you about it but no body answer, and still this promotion coming and no one care if this offer serious or just bluffing, let us know how to applicat this promotion without sticky way, and be clear to show the way to activate it. for that in my review give just one star, until you resolve this problem seriously.
The app acts like it’s the best, full of features, and just amazing, when in reality, it is garbage, confusing, missing so many key features, and promotes lack of empathy to other human beings (unless they fit into your desires) Furthermore, they dangle “high ranking” hot dudes on your main page to keep you clicking and clicking and clicking.
beards and butts
by SuePositori on 2020/03/05 15:25
is what we’re looking for on here, in the end. why not come down to the one of most popular spots in town where you can get attention and validation from people who are seeking attention and validation from someone that isn’t you! bored? hop on Scruff. horny? let’s go! sad and having an existential crisis about it you’ll ever meet someone while continuing to engage in toxic social media habits that further distance us as a community by having us pick one another like fresh meat, well then this app is for you! you’ll love when you have a great conversation and then the person disappears. you’ll have such fun overthinking! and if you’re looking for something quick and easy, this is the app for you! careful though, the eager ones get a little clingy.
