This app is so bad that I have given up trying to use it. I end up showing up at the front desk hoping there is availability. Having to call to make a reservation is the other option. I’m switching to Hilton after the new year because the app is super smooth and I can do everything from my phone without all this complication.

Why would anyone make your clients number the same format as a phone number??? Why can’t they figure out which account is associated with my email address? Their phone help has been absolutely useless. I’ve switched hotels just to get some service! Their backend servers are clearly crap!

Had problems with IHG points local hotel was great but took 3 phone calls and over 2 hours to get problems resolved. No easy way to submit it in email or writing since it would not recognize the confirmation number.

I am a spire member and a titanium at Marriott Marriott has the app down to a science. The IHG app won’t let you put in special requests and when you set stay preferences from the app the hotelS don’t see them, it has happened to me quite a few times. Then a lot of times the app shows no rooms available but when you use the web sight or call they have a ton of rooms. The worst part is IHG tried to copy the Marriott app to let you set your requests on check in and IT DOESN’T WORK! Get it right IHG or quit trying to copy Marriott which I will be staying at a lot more next year. At least Marriott hotels care about their members unlike IHG and give them upgrades and notice their stay preferences

Best place to stay-good service, friendly, helpful Staff! My husband gets care at the DUMC-Oncology Center, so we’ve stayed here several times. The Renovations are so nice! Clean Motel with a delicious Continental Breakfast!
The login is unnecessarily complex

With every update the app requires to enter pin / password even though the face id /touch id was enabled. If you enter an incorrect pin, your account is disabled and you have to call customer service which takes about 20-30 minutes before you get a capable human being to answer. I travel for living and am a member of just about every loyalty program there is. Do you really expect me to remember password for every travel loyalty app? If it takes me over 30 minutes to login to your app, I will surely book a room from your competitor. More complex is not necessarily better.

Please add the special request feature to the app. I am a Spire member and I wont book using the app as only the Main IHG website has this feature to allow requests such as Non-connecting rooms or rooms not facing highways etcetera! Thanks

The app is great when it works. I have had several attempts while booking it says my card is invalid. The scan option of the credit card does not work. My card is not invalid when then I have to call the hotel to make my reservation with the same credit card. Yes it works. Which is why I have the app for the convenience while traveling. I just spoke with Customer Service. Was told to call my Credit Card company.

Master suit was extremely grungy

We stayed in the master suit ($800 for the weekend) the tiles were broken and dirty, there was black mold in the bathroom and the shower did not drain. If this room were 1/3 the price it would still be way to much.

As a former employee at IHG I know first hand of all their problem. They won’t spend the money to upgrade their legacy code. They are 3-4 years behind their rivals. The have made many big tech mistakes in the past. They are snake bit at the C-level. They need to fire all the “yes” men in the company. They pay below industry standards. The best have long left. Everything people are saying is true. Don’t do your res via this app. Go to another hotel chain.

I can’t add my reservation to my calendar or wallet, I cannot “set stay preferences” or “explore dining options”. Selecting ANY if these options once results in multiple “We’re sorry. Something is not working at the moment, or mobile check-in is no longer available” messages. Is this app no longer supported?

I tap account and see “spinning circle of death.” I re-start, navigate times account and tap “member benefits” and nothing happens. I receive email directing me to “free semi-annual Kindle book” and see a blank screen in the app. Overall: Fine for booking stays, but none of the added-value app functions work for me.

One of the Best apps that any company has to offer. I’m new to this program but we love it. Have stayed at so many places around mostly vacation and just get away trips but memories will last. Have have made so many reservations for most of trips and have never lost any or have we been disappointed. It’s easy and fast most of all it’s convenient.

I have made multiple attempts to book transport via the IHG app through the Extras feature without success. It advertised 1,000 bonus points and a decent price for BellTrans in Las Vegas to and from the airport; however, it looks like I’m out of luck after at least 10 attempts to complete the form and it will not submit the info. Frustrating!

It was a great app when it worked. Now my account activity is unavailable, and I can’t book anything. The app is just hanging for a while. The only thing I can do there is check messages.

Changing between business and leisure profile at the time of booking is nonexistent. And if you change credit cards the scan doesn’t change the card type (mc, visa, etc) nor the exp date. Worse yet the drop down arrows to change the exp date and card type don’t work. So you end up having to enter the credit card manually. Flawed for sure.

The IHG rewards program has really gotten worse in recent years. As a spire elite member I shouldn’t have to fight and spend several minutes on the phone with overseas call centers. I would recommend Marriott Bonvoy over IHG at this point. IHG doesn’t care how much money you spend with them. They think that if they thank you your loyalty and for being a rewards member then that is enough. Otherwise they just treat you like any person that walked in off the street. Shop around, you WILL find a better hotel rewards program than this.

IHG has wonderful hotels, but the IHG app is not user friendly or functional in getting you to those hotels. Other hotel apps - Marriott, Hyatt - get it right. IHG needs to take a look at their competitor’s apps. Features such as what type of rooms each hotel offers and accurate descriptions of the rooms and other hotel features need to be added. Also, IHG needs to correct whatever bugs are making the app unusable. I have to use the Internet to make my reservations. What’s the point of the app then? Please fix.

Has anyone at IHG tried their competitors apps. This app is joke in comparison to them. As someone who travels almost 200 nights a year. I look for simplicity and great execution in my user experience. This app in no way fulfills that need and is one of the main reasons I refuse to stay at IHG. I can’t even logon to my account because it is locked in some kind of FaceId death spiral. Thanks IHG for reminding what horrible app can be.

A review was written 1yr ago , the number N561AS was on the review. I would like to see all IHG hotels on a designate route I have chosen. At the present I go to google find cities on the route then go back to the IHG app to find the hotels😡. Would be nice just mark a are on the map an all IHG hotels show up for that area.

I’m on an iPhone 6 and it simply doesn’t work for me. I asked it to search hotels at my current location and the time counter just spun and spun. Same thing happened when I tried to look up offers. WiFi and cellular connections are good, so that is not the problem.

I’ve made sure my phone and apps are all up to date, but the IHG app hasn’t worked since sometime last year. It opens fine, but once I click “find a hotel” or anything from the drop down menu, I get nothing. I can’t even click my name on the main menu even though I see a highlighted number showing I have messages and offers available. What is the issue???

They bribe you to download the app with a free kindle book. But then you can’t login to get the book bs they have the worst login experience I’ve ever seen. You better be able to remember 9 digits over and over. Bc your member number erases if you toggle to another screen to get the remainder of your numbers. Then the PIN function doesn’t work. And each try requires you to re-enter your member #. Horrible. And of course, the contact us link doesn’t work either. Maybe the app is ok, but I’ll never know...

1) Every once in a while FaceID sign in fails to work because the app is junk. 2) Then you have to sign in manually, but the app cannot retrieve your pin. It has a button for that but it doesn’t work, of course.

You can spend a couple thousand dollars and reach “elite status”, but you’re points don’t really go that far. I have spent around $3,500 this year alone on IHG hotel rooms and the points I have earned aren’t even enough to get me one measly free night stay. If you want a bunch of bogus vacation offers with aggressive sales tactics then this is the rewards program for you.

I checked in, informed the desk that the rate was incorrect; manager had three days to correct and now I’m checking out with incorrect receipt; and to top it off, hotel slipped someone else’s receipt under my door with an even better rate that they paid; so now I know that there was a better rate.

Mary and Dakota did an excellent job keeping the breakfast area stocked with good food, and made sure everything was clean. They were super nice and kept fresh coffee out constantly! The man at the front desk was also very helpful and offered me Tylenol when he overheard me mention a headache. The everyone is very pleasant and helpful, always saying “good morning” and aren’t disgruntled like other hotels. The bathrooms (like the rooms) are also very clean and updated which is a HUGE plus. Will definitely stay here again. I’m picky when it comes to hotels but this one is great!

I always use the app to make my reservations. When completed, you get a confirmation number. I always take a screenshot of it as a backup to the app, but I’ve never needed it. I’ve never had a reservation lost, cancelled or overbooked using this app. Plus as part of the rewards program you can build up points for a free or discounted rate. The app will show current offers and deals. You can search cities or favorite destinations such as a theme park or aquarium and it will show you the closest hotels to that destination. I find it better to use the app then one of the big name hotel search websites where I’ve actually had them lose my reservation or overbook. Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge are our go to.. and this app makes it more convenient. If you made a reservation several weeks in advance, I recommend calling the hotel phone number which is right on your app reservation and confirming your stay.
Terrible experience

One if the worst transactions I have ever made. I made an reservation Thru the app. I showed up at the hotel and they had no record of it. Have them the confirmation and they could not find it. Told me they would cancel the reservation and put me in as a walk-in. I said no because IHG would charge me for not using the reservation. I insisted on calling IHG which I did. After much conversation I was escalated to a supervisor. She confirmed the problem talked to the clerk and it was resolved but alas I ended up billed by the hotel and again by IHG anyway. Double billed. With heroic effort I was able to get a phone number of IHG. then they proceeded to tell me yes there was a mixup but has to be solved by hotel not IHG. SPENT ANOTHER half hour on phone and got a case number. Passing the buck back and forth. Blaming it on the other guy but making me responsible for following up to see if it is fixed. It is almost unbelievable for a customer to be treat this way. A better answer would be @ I will solve this problem for you and call you when it is resolved or with 72 hours if it isn’t. Bad guest relations.

The worst! We were traveling from Iowa and while on our trip we learned to love Holiday Inn Express. Thought they had the comfy beds, clean, and the shower pressure in all but this one was great. We checked in around 9 pm after driving all day. Price was right. Went to our room. No bedside lamps, no Kleenex, dirty and so dusty I wrote gross in the dust on the microwave shelf of which the micro was unplugged, cord still wrapped. We went back downstairs to let them know so later on we wouldn’t be blamed for stealing lamps. Too busy to wait for the one employee at the front desk so we went to bed and we’d let them know in the morning. Morning comes and two showers later the floor from the bathroom to the wall outside and across the doorway hall was flooded. They should have never let anyone stay in this room after the employee told us they’ve been remodeling and haven’t brought everything back into the rooms. Disappointed Spire Member

IHG has become a huge disappointment and this coming from a Spire member who has invested a considerable amount of time with them. I’ve been trying to track down the status of my Reward Nights Faster, but that’s virtually impossible apparently. I don’t know why IHG has to make it such a secret to find. Secondly as a Spire member you’d think that my stay preferences would be at least somewhat honored, but nope I’m usually on a lower floor and close to the elevator... exactly the opposite of what I prefer. Thirdly when I do stay at a Hilton or Marriott I get a room that matches my preference and almost always upgraded with just basic status. Lastly it’s really nice that Hilton lets you pick the room location of your choice within the category you booked. This is amazing and makes you feel like you’re preferences are valued and they want to empower you to have options. It’s been a enjoyable 12yr run with IHG, but I see my time coming to am end with them over simple oversights constantly by IHG.

Great app but it has some issues. Every time I go to the app even though I have my remember sign on in enabled, I still have to sign on every single time. Also my canceled reservations still show as active reservations when you go onto the app. And then other times there is just an error in the in the app will just not work. The app still does all the normal functions as far as for booking a reservation and shows Great hotel options but it has a lot of glitches that just really make it inconvenient. If you have thousands of members who are loyal to you I think you should work a little bit harder to make sure that everything is easy and accessible.
Difficult to Find “Book Stay”

The app is frustrating when trying to make a reservation. I can search for a location. I can see availability. I can look at and choose a room (1 bed, 2 beds, Suite, etc). I can select a discount. What I can NOT find is the actual place on the app to BOOK the stay with all the information that I entered. Instead I must use the website - which by the way, clearly states “BOOK”. Another frustration is the portrait orientation of the app. I would greatly appreciate the app being able to rotate to landscape view. Honestly, rather annoying when I am using my Bluetooth keyboard. The app is ok for finding an established reservation and giving information about the upcoming stay.
Don’t waste money on IHG

No customer service. This is an international company. Finding a phone number for customer service that works is difficult. Stays purchased through the app cannot be cancelled. Reservations are paid in full and cannot be reimbursed. I cancelled a reservation and when I realized the penalty was the entire cost of the reservation I called to ask to keep the reservation they told me it was already cancelled but I could rebook the reservation at full cost again. I fully recommend Expedia. Prices are the same and you have a larger selection hotels. The reservations are fully reimbursed. Used it for years but like Holiday Inn Express so I thought I would try their rewards program. It was a costly mistake. I will avoid IHG and all its member hotels in the future.

We love IHG!! It makes things so easy to have all your travel information in your phone or tablet. We go on and make our reservations, we get a email with the confirmation number and all the info is on my account on the sight, and that’s it, we are set to go. If by some chance we need to modify our stay, no problem I can do that on here without calling in. I really love the past stay section. I can go back to find a hotel we stayed at so I can book it again when in that area.

Really can’t thank you enough - every single staff member I encountered was exceptional. Front desk, housekeeping, bar, restaurant - everyone was extremely pleasant, always smiling, truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had to date. My daughter returned from military deployment in the Middle East and was delayed. Your staff simply could not have been more accommodating. I’m so impressed with the level of customer service and the property. Just an outstanding experience. Thank you all!!
Glitches Galore

This app is extremely glitchy. Today, I was looking around and trying to get to the Rewards Catalog. I was able to find it then left the app to answer a text. When I went back in, it took me several minutes to find my way back to it. Every time I click on rewards catalog, the app flashes between several screens that I didn’t navigate to. It has a mind of it’s own. In February, I was looking at prices on hotel rooms when all of a sudden, it was booked without me clicking on anything. I kept the reservation because the room was at a good price and I would get reward points but it’s pretty frustrating when the app doesn’t work smoothly.

My son and I downloaded the app on an emergency trip to see my folks because we could not drive one more highway mile. Minutes after downloading, we had a reservation in Greenwood, MS, the next town. Love that we have quick access to family friendly hotels all over the US. Managing points is easy and they add up to rewards quickly. Simply love it!!!

Was unable to book a room 3 weeks ahead with app. App said no rooms were available for the 3 nights I requested. However when I called the hotel the desk clerk was very friendly and was able to reserve my room! The clerk was unaware of discrepancies on the app. Because my reservation was made over the phone, it did not sync completely with the app. It showed as an upcoming stay but the reservation did not sync with my iPhone wallet. I could not access the reservation through the app at anytime. This sucked because I had to refer back to my email for confirmation and general reference.

The app is great for finding and booking a hotel quickly. However, I think the app really struggles when displaying benefits for reward members. The “Offers” tab doesn’t outline how far along you are in a promotion/offer; you can only click on the promotion to learn about it but it doesn’t tell you if you’re enrolled in it or how far to go. Additionally, I didn’t notice an “add to calendar” option which I appreciate on the website, it might be a detail I’ve overlooked but that would be useful. Overall, easy to use but could be more detailed.

Went to the local hotel website and made a reservation for myself just to get away. Credit card was charged the next morning which was cool that meant everything was ready. I get there and the desk clerk states oh we won’t be able to rent you a room because you don’t stay 59 miles or more from here. I have no problem with that but it needs to be stated on the website. So when I asked for my money to be returned to my card they say oh that may take up to 10 business days. Uh no it didn’t take y’all 10 business hours to take it. Thanks to my card services and many many calls to this company I was able to get my money back next day.
Will not log in on iPhone X

I can log in on my other ios devices (iPad Pro and previous 6s+), but when I try to log in with my iPhone X, the action times out. The IHG service representative was unable to fix it or explain why it doesn’t work. All devices are running current ios (11.1.2). UPDATE: I discovered that the login issue depends on which location that my VPN is set on. This seems silly, but when I disable the VPN (not preferred) or select a different VPN location, the app works okay. I have no idea why this would be an issue with my iPhone, and not with my iPad Pro. I now would upgrade my rating of the app to 4 Stars. When it works, I like the app, but VPN issue reduces it from 5 to 4 stars.

Does everything I want and very stable but can be a bit confusing when trying to find out info on your booking or you offers ( always tells me I don’t have any offers and then 10 seconds later they appear). Also keeps asks if I want to have English as my default every time I use it. Come on guys that’s what cookies are for. Overall I love the app but as in any relationship there are always a few annoying things that drive you mad. That’s life hey!! 🤣

Been using the app for years. A large reason I stay at HIE is the ease of the app and their nationwide locations. The newest update will not keep my CC info. Further, when I hit the “Find Hotels” button it takes me to my current reservation. What a cumbersome hassle now. Surprising how quickly I will change brands based on the App performance. Maybe I should just find a pay phone and call the central reservation desk and ask them to locate hotels and then I can write down my options using a real pen and paper and then locate them on an Atlas. Where is my pocketful of pay phone change?? I know I have that number somewhere in my Rolodex... Oops, I’ve lost my pen. Rats.
The login is unnecessarily complex

With every update the app requires to enter pin / password even though the face id /touch id was enabled. If you enter an incorrect pin, your account is disabled and you have to call customer service which takes about 20-30 minutes before you get a capable human being to answer. I travel for living and am a member of just about every loyalty program there is. Do you really expect me to remember password for every travel loyalty app? If it takes me over 30 minutes to login to your app, I will surely book a room from your competitor. More complex is not necessarily better.

We’ve been staying at Holiday Inn Express for many years w/NO problems, ever. As a matter of fact, it is actually our “hotel of Choice” when traveling. The breakfast is always the same, very good, and convenient that we don’t have to try and find a restaurant early in the morning(especially in some of the smaller towns, or areas). Always happy w/ our experience at Holiday Inn Express. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, hotel w/breakfast included.

This has to be the worst login experience of any app I own (now deleted). Force a stupid random PIN on you instead of setting a password I actually know and can remember. Good luck remember in the PIN two weeks later. Get the PIN wrong and they lock your account. You can’t get it unlocked without wasting twenty minutes on their stupid hotline. Give people an easy path to authenticate, get rid of the stupid PIN (you’re not a bank - I just want a hotel room), and for heavens sake don’t waste people’s time on the phone because of your overly restrictive security. Argh. Literally picked a different hotel just so I could move on with my life.

This app stinks. Every time they issue a revision it knocks you out and you can’t get back in with calling and spending 20-30 mins on the phone with them. It will tell me my pin is wrong so I request my pin and it’s the right one! Happens ever time they issue a new version. There’s really no point in having the app. Can’t check in with it, can’t pick your room, can’t use it as your key, it’s not worth anything. I’ve moved almost all my business elsewhere cause it’s so frustrating dealing with it. I prefer the HI express over the Hampton but Hilton’s got it all over them with making it easy to do business with them

I travel weekly for work and IHG hotels and the IHG app are a huge help. They make travel easy because I am able to make and change reservations quickly. I also appreciate the ability to search for hotels using the map to find the best option on my travel route. I have not had a bad stay yet and I keep coming back because I trust the IHG brand.

We had an emergency in our home and needed to stay in a safe and convenient place while the emergency situation was addressed. The Holiday Inn was our first choice. The staff was empathetic, professional and accommodating. The restaurant and room service was very very good and delicious!! We Loved the salmon, the made to order burgers and the quesadillas! Housekeeping was especially accommodating and efficient!! THANK YOU for taking such good care if us !!

I’m currently on the phone with a reservations person. It’s my second call. Both people were incredibly nice and helpful. It has been a rough week and to receive friendly customer service means more than usual. I’ve stayed at Intercontinental hotels a number of times, but never an Evens. If the service at the hotel is this kind I will repeat.

This really has nothing to do with the app per se but the ability to get a folio. As a spire elite it staggers me at to cumbersomeness. All of the other major brands send a PDF folio immediately on the morning of check out but not so with IHG. The hotels don’t even have access to my email address and when I give it the generally screw it up the CHECK OUT email sent out with the HAVE BILL EMAILED is useless. It isn’t in any format I can submit. Not sure why IHG can’t get with the program. This is way too easy and surely I’m not the only person who has this issue

One of the Best apps that any company has to offer. I’m new to this program but we love it. Have stayed at so many places around mostly vacation and just get away trips but memories will last. Have have made so many reservations for most of trips and have never lost any or have we been disappointed. It’s easy and fast most of all it’s convenient.

Have always thought it was a good app. But latest update, I can’t open it. So I deleted the app to reinstall it.... it won’t even reinstall. I’ve got the 6+. Everything else working fine. Deleting app, restarting phone, & reinstalling app again got things moving again. Don’t know why the hoops to jump through needed to be done. But app working again, and great for checking hotel rates & booking.

I make all of my reservations through the app. I can check my points and redeem my free nights through the app. Never had a problem with any reservation and any request that I make through the app is always taken care of by the time I get to the hotel. I would recommend this app to anyone trying to book hotels through IHG.

Wonderful and clean property. The employees so friendly and helpful. They worked with us to add extra days due to a medical situation. I had hip replacement at the hospital in Beaufort. This gave my daughter and grandson a place to help make sure that I was taken care of. Such a wonderful experience staying at a wonderful property. Thanks so much. We had a very lovely stay over last weekend. It was our second stay this last weekend. We especially enjoy their restaurant. Server Tim is a real asset He is such an asset. Friendly, knowledgeable, with that amazing smile. Our room was very clean and well appointed. Our grandsons play tennis for George Fox Univ. they had matches this weekend. We will back. We traveled from the Seattle area.

Terrible VoiceOver Accessibility Support for Blind Users

The app is difficult to impossible to use with voiceover. There are a lot of items with extremely long and verbose labels. It is next to impossible to complete simple transaction such as hotel reservation using VoiceOver. Furthermore, when you click on apps support, it takes you to a generic IHG page, rather than a group specifically in development or engineering. Apple has detailed information on how to test for voiceover compatibility, and to re-mediate any issues. The app has been difficult to use for a very long time.

The IHG rewards program has really gotten worse in recent years. As a spire elite member I shouldn’t have to fight and spend several minutes on the phone with overseas call centers. I would recommend Marriott Bonvoy over IHG at this point. IHG doesn’t care how much money you spend with them. They think that if they thank you your loyalty and for being a rewards member then that is enough. Otherwise they just treat you like any person that walked in off the street. Shop around, you WILL find a better hotel rewards program than this.

I was really impressed with the quality of this hotel. The staff was very friendly. I am slightly handicapped and they made things very easy for me. It may be a little expensive but it was well worth the stay. The breakfast was great the pool was clean and the rooms were very clean. I will definitely be staying there again.

I am trying to purchase points for the 80% promotion, but the Points page has been down for two days. When I call to purchase points, they tell me I cannot get that 80% bonus over the phone and to use the website. I tell them the page is down and they do not seem to understand that. Though I am a loyal IHG® member, I am thinking it is time to make a switch.

There is no way to reserve 2 different rooms with one trip through the system. To get one type room for my wife and me and another for my daughter and her 3 kids I had to make 2 reservations. A way to request two different type rooms at once would be great. Otherwise, using the IHG app was great and easy to use to explore different city possibilities. Bill

We brought 27 students and 3 staff to the National Beta Convention. Everything was absolutely wonderful—we couldn’t have asked for better. The rooms were spacious, clean and cozy. The staff was out of this world. From front desk to housekeeping to shuttle drivers, everyone treated us very well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Frequent Invalid Card

The app is great when it works. I have had several attempts while booking it says my card is invalid. The scan option of the credit card does not work. My card is not invalid when then I have to call the hotel to make my reservation with the same credit card. Yes it works. Which is why I have the app for the convenience while traveling. I just spoke with Customer Service. Was told to call my Credit Card company.

They bribe you to download the app with a free kindle book. But then you can’t login to get the book bs they have the worst login experience I’ve ever seen. You better be able to remember 9 digits over and over. Bc your member number erases if you toggle to another screen to get the remainder of your numbers. Then the PIN function doesn’t work. And each try requires you to re-enter your member #. Horrible. And of course, the contact us link doesn’t work either. Maybe the app is ok, but I’ll never know...

I really like using the IHG app. I travel some and tend to stick to this brand because the accommodations and fairly consistent. My only suggestion would be a way to save your favorite destinations and/or hotels because I also tend to stay in the same locations when I return to a city.

IHG has wonderful hotels, but the IHG app is not user friendly or functional in getting you to those hotels. Other hotel apps - Marriott, Hyatt - get it right. IHG needs to take a look at their competitor’s apps. Features such as what type of rooms each hotel offers and accurate descriptions of the rooms and other hotel features need to be added. Also, IHG needs to correct whatever bugs are making the app unusable. I have to use the Internet to make my reservations. What’s the point of the app then? Please fix.

This app is so bad that I have given up trying to use it. I end up showing up at the front desk hoping there is availability. Having to call to make a reservation is the other option. I’m switching to Hilton after the new year because the app is super smooth and I can do everything from my phone without all this complication.

The IHG app won’t let you put in special requests and when you set stay preferences from the app the hotelS don’t see them, it has happened to me quite a few times. Then a lot of times the app shows no rooms available but when you use the web sight or call they have a ton of rooms. The worst part is IHG tried to copy the Marriott app to let you set your requests on check in and IT DOESN’T WORK! Get it right IHG or quit trying to copy Marriott which I will be staying at a lot more next year. At least Marriott hotels care about their members unlike IHG and give them upgrades and notice their stay preferences

Best place to stay-good service, friendly, helpful Staff! My husband gets care at the DUMC-Oncology Center, so we’ve stayed here several times. The Renovations are so nice! Clean Motel with a delicious Continental Breakfast!

With every update the app requires to enter pin / password even though the face id /touch id was enabled. If you enter an incorrect pin, your account is disabled and you have to call customer service which takes about 20-30 minutes before you get a capable human being to answer. I travel for living and am a member of just about every loyalty program there is. Do you really expect me to remember password for every travel loyalty app? If it takes me over 30 minutes to login to your app, I will surely book a room from your competitor. More complex is not necessarily better.

The app is great when it works. I have had several attempts while booking it says my card is invalid. The scan option of the credit card does not work. My card is not invalid when then I have to call the hotel to make my reservation with the same credit card. Yes it works. Which is why I have the app for the convenience while traveling. I just spoke with Customer Service. Was told to call my Credit Card company.

We stayed in the master suit ($800 for the weekend) the tiles were broken and dirty, there was black mold in the bathroom and the shower did not drain. If this room were 1/3 the price it would still be way to much.

As a former employee at IHG I know first hand of all their problem. They won’t spend the money to upgrade their legacy code. They are 3-4 years behind their rivals. The have made many big tech mistakes in the past. They are snake bit at the C-level. They need to fire all the “yes” men in the company. They pay below industry standards. The best have long left. Everything people are saying is true. Don’t do your res via this app. Go to another hotel chain.

One of the Best apps that any company has to offer. I’m new to this program but we love it. Have stayed at so many places around mostly vacation and just get away trips but memories will last. Have have made so many reservations for most of trips and have never lost any or have we been disappointed. It’s easy and fast most of all it’s convenient.

I have made multiple attempts to book transport via the IHG app through the Extras feature without success. It advertised 1,000 bonus points and a decent price for BellTrans in Las Vegas to and from the airport; however, it looks like I’m out of luck after at least 10 attempts to complete the form and it will not submit the info. Frustrating!

Changing between business and leisure profile at the time of booking is nonexistent. And if you change credit cards the scan doesn’t change the card type (mc, visa, etc) nor the exp date. Worse yet the drop down arrows to change the exp date and card type don’t work. So you end up having to enter the credit card manually. Flawed for sure.

The IHG rewards program has really gotten worse in recent years. As a spire elite member I shouldn’t have to fight and spend several minutes on the phone with overseas call centers. I would recommend Marriott Bonvoy over IHG at this point. IHG doesn’t care how much money you spend with them. They think that if they thank you your loyalty and for being a rewards member then that is enough. Otherwise they just treat you like any person that walked in off the street. Shop around, you WILL find a better hotel rewards program than this.

IHG has wonderful hotels, but the IHG app is not user friendly or functional in getting you to those hotels. Other hotel apps - Marriott, Hyatt - get it right. IHG needs to take a look at their competitor’s apps. Features such as what type of rooms each hotel offers and accurate descriptions of the rooms and other hotel features need to be added. Also, IHG needs to correct whatever bugs are making the app unusable. I have to use the Internet to make my reservations. What’s the point of the app then? Please fix.

Has anyone at IHG tried their competitors apps. This app is joke in comparison to them. As someone who travels almost 200 nights a year. I look for simplicity and great execution in my user experience. This app in no way fulfills that need and is one of the main reasons I refuse to stay at IHG. I can’t even logon to my account because it is locked in some kind of FaceId death spiral. Thanks IHG for reminding what horrible app can be.

They bribe you to download the app with a free kindle book. But then you can’t login to get the book bs they have the worst login experience I’ve ever seen. You better be able to remember 9 digits over and over. Bc your member number erases if you toggle to another screen to get the remainder of your numbers. Then the PIN function doesn’t work. And each try requires you to re-enter your member #. Horrible. And of course, the contact us link doesn’t work either. Maybe the app is ok, but I’ll never know...

1) Every once in a while FaceID sign in fails to work because the app is junk. 2) Then you have to sign in manually, but the app cannot retrieve your pin. It has a button for that but it doesn’t work, of course.

You can spend a couple thousand dollars and reach “elite status”, but you’re points don’t really go that far. I have spent around $3,500 this year alone on IHG hotel rooms and the points I have earned aren’t even enough to get me one measly free night stay. If you want a bunch of bogus vacation offers with aggressive sales tactics then this is the rewards program for you.

Mary and Dakota did an excellent job keeping the breakfast area stocked with good food, and made sure everything was clean. They were super nice and kept fresh coffee out constantly! The man at the front desk was also very helpful and offered me Tylenol when he overheard me mention a headache. The everyone is very pleasant and helpful, always saying “good morning” and aren’t disgruntled like other hotels. The bathrooms (like the rooms) are also very clean and updated which is a HUGE plus. Will definitely stay here again. I’m picky when it comes to hotels but this one is great!

I always use the app to make my reservations. When completed, you get a confirmation number. I always take a screenshot of it as a backup to the app, but I’ve never needed it. I’ve never had a reservation lost, cancelled or overbooked using this app. Plus as part of the rewards program you can build up points for a free or discounted rate. The app will show current offers and deals. You can search cities or favorite destinations such as a theme park or aquarium and it will show you the closest hotels to that destination. I find it better to use the app then one of the big name hotel search websites where I’ve actually had them lose my reservation or overbook. Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge are our go to.. and this app makes it more convenient. If you made a reservation several weeks in advance, I recommend calling the hotel phone number which is right on your app reservation and confirming your stay.

One if the worst transactions I have ever made. I made an reservation Thru the app. I showed up at the hotel and they had no record of it. Have them the confirmation and they could not find it. Told me they would cancel the reservation and put me in as a walk-in. I said no because IHG would charge me for not using the reservation. I insisted on calling IHG which I did. After much conversation I was escalated to a supervisor. She confirmed the problem talked to the clerk and it was resolved but alas I ended up billed by the hotel and again by IHG anyway. Double billed. With heroic effort I was able to get a phone number of IHG. then they proceeded to tell me yes there was a mixup but has to be solved by hotel not IHG. SPENT ANOTHER half hour on phone and got a case number. Passing the buck back and forth. Blaming it on the other guy but making me responsible for following up to see if it is fixed. It is almost unbelievable for a customer to be treat this way. A better answer would be @ I will solve this problem for you and call you when it is resolved or with 72 hours if it isn’t. Bad guest relations.

The worst! We were traveling from Iowa and while on our trip we learned to love Holiday Inn Express. Thought they had the comfy beds, clean, and the shower pressure in all but this one was great. We checked in around 9 pm after driving all day. Price was right. Went to our room. No bedside lamps, no Kleenex, dirty and so dusty I wrote gross in the dust on the microwave shelf of which the micro was unplugged, cord still wrapped. We went back downstairs to let them know so later on we wouldn’t be blamed for stealing lamps. Too busy to wait for the one employee at the front desk so we went to bed and we’d let them know in the morning. Morning comes and two showers later the floor from the bathroom to the wall outside and across the doorway hall was flooded. They should have never let anyone stay in this room after the employee told us they’ve been remodeling and haven’t brought everything back into the rooms. Make up table was great but it needed a light. Do not stay here anytime soon! They said they’d call me and solve the issue but I never got that call.
Disappointed Spire Member

IHG has become a huge disappointment and this coming from a Spire member who has invested a considerable amount of time with them. I’ve been trying to track down the status of my Reward Nights Faster, but that’s virtually impossible apparently. I don’t know why IHG has to make it such a secret to find. Secondly as a Spire member you’d think that my stay preferences would be at least somewhat honored, but nope I’m usually on a lower floor and close to the elevator... exactly the opposite of what I prefer. Thirdly when I do stay at a Hilton or Marriott I get a room that matches my preference and almost always upgraded with just basic status. Lastly it’s really nice that Hilton lets you pick the room location of your choice within the category you booked. This is amazing and makes you feel like you’re preferences are valued and they want to empower you to have options. It’s been a enjoyable 12yr run with IHG, but I see my time coming to am end with them over simple oversights constantly by IHG.

Great app but it has some issues. Every time I go to the app even though I have my remember sign on in enabled, I still have to sign on every single time. Also my canceled reservations still show as active reservations when you go onto the app. And then other times there is just an error in the in the app will just not work. The app still does all the normal functions as far as for booking a reservation and shows Great hotel options but it has a lot of glitches that just really make it inconvenient. If you have thousands of members who are loyal to you I think you should work a little bit harder to make sure that everything is easy and accessible.
Difficult to Find “Book Stay”

The app is frustrating when trying to make a reservation. I can search for a location. I can see availability. I can look at and choose a room (1 bed, 2 beds, Suite, etc). I can select a discount. What I can NOT find is the actual place on the app to BOOK the stay with all the information that I entered. Instead I must use the website - which by the way, clearly states “BOOK”. Another frustration is the portrait orientation of the app. I would greatly appreciate the app being able to rotate to landscape view. Honestly, rather annoying when I am using my Bluetooth keyboard. The app is ok for finding an established reservation and giving information about the upcoming stay.
Don’t waste money on IHG

No customer service. This is an international company. Finding a phone number for customer service that works is difficult. Stays purchased through the app cannot be cancelled. Reservations are paid in full and cannot be reimbursed. I cancelled a reservation and when I realized the penalty was the entire cost of the reservation I called to ask to keep the reservation they told me it was already cancelled but I could rebook the reservation at full cost again. I fully recommend Expedia. Prices are the same and you have a larger selection hotels. The reservations are fully reimbursed. Used it for years but like Holiday Inn Express so I thought I would try their rewards program. It was a costly mistake. I will avoid IHG and all its member hotels in the future.

We love IHG!! It makes things so easy to have all your travel information in your phone or tablet. We go on and make our reservations, we get a email with the confirmation number and all the info is on my account on the sight, and that’s it, we are set to go. If by some chance we need to modify our stay, no problem I can do that on here without calling in. I really love the past stay section. I can go back to find a hotel we stayed at so I can book it again when in that area.

Front desk, housekeeping, bar, restaurant - everyone was extremely pleasant, always smiling, truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had to date. My daughter returned from military deployment in the Middle East and was delayed. Your staff simply could not have been more accommodating. I’m so impressed with the level of customer service and the property. Just an outstanding experience. Thank you all!!

This app is extremely glitchy. Today, I was looking around and trying to get to the Rewards Catalog. I was able to find it then left the app to answer a text. When I went back in, it took me several minutes to find my way back to it. Every time I click on rewards catalog, the app flashes between several screens that I didn’t navigate to. It has a mind of it’s own. In February, I was looking at prices on hotel rooms when all of a sudden, it was booked without me clicking on anything. I kept the reservation because the room was at a good price and I would get reward points but it’s pretty frustrating when the app doesn’t work smoothly.

My son and I downloaded the app on an emergency trip to see my folks because we could not drive one more highway mile. Minutes after downloading, we had a reservation in Greenwood, MS, the next town. Love that we have quick access to family friendly hotels all over the US. Managing points is easy and they add up to rewards quickly. Simply love it!!!

Was unable to book a room 3 weeks ahead with app. App said no rooms were available for the 3 nights I requested. However when I called the hotel the desk clerk was very friendly and was able to reserve my room! The clerk was unaware of discrepancies on the app. Because my reservation was made over the phone, it did not sync completely with the app. It showed as an upcoming stay but the reservation did not sync with my iPhone wallet. I could not access the reservation through the app at anytime. This sucked because I had to refer back to my email for confirmation and general reference.

The app is great for finding and booking a hotel quickly. However, I think the app really struggles when displaying benefits for reward members. The “Offers” tab doesn’t outline how far along you are in a promotion/offer; you can only click on the promotion to learn about it but it doesn’t tell you if you’re enrolled in it or how far to go. Additionally, I didn’t notice an “add to calendar” option which I appreciate on the website, it might be a detail I’ve overlooked but that would be useful. Overall, easy to use but could be more detailed.

Went to the local hotel website and made a reservation for myself just to get away. Credit card was charged the next morning which was cool that meant everything was ready. I get there and the desk clerk states oh we won’t be able to rent you a room because you don’t stay 59 miles or more from here. I have no problem with that but it needs to be stated on the website. So when I asked for my money to be returned to my card they say oh that may take up to 10 business days. Uh no it didn’t take y’all 10 business hours to take it. Thanks to my card services and many many calls to this company I was able to get my money back next day.
Will not log in on iPhone X

I can log in on my other ios devices (iPad Pro and previous 6s+), but when I try to log in with my iPhone X, the action times out. The IHG service representative was unable to fix it or explain why it doesn’t work. All devices are running current ios (11.1.2). UPDATE: I discovered that the login issue depends on which location that my VPN is set on. This seems silly, but when I disable the VPN (not preferred) or select a different VPN location, the app works okay. I have no idea why this would be an issue with my iPhone, and not with my iPad Pro. I now would upgrade my rating of the app to 4 Stars. When it works, I like the app, but VPN issue reduces it from 5 to 4 stars.

Does everything I want and very stable but can be a bit confusing when trying to find out info on your booking or you offers ( always tells me I don’t have any offers and then 10 seconds later they appear). Also keeps asks if I want to have English as my default every time I use it. Come on guys that’s what cookies are for. Overall I love the app but as in any relationship there are always a few annoying things that drive you mad. That’s life hey!! 🤣

Been using the app for years. A large reason I stay at HIE is the ease of the app and their nationwide locations. The newest update will not keep my CC info. Further, when I hit the “Find Hotels” button it takes me to my current reservation. What a cumbersome hassle now. Surprising how quickly I will change brands based on the App performance. Maybe I should just find a pay phone and call the central reservation desk and ask them to locate hotels and then I can write down my options using a real pen and paper and then locate them on an Atlas. Where is my pocketful of pay phone change?? I know I have that number somewhere in my Rolodex... Oops, I’ve lost my pen. Rats.
The login is unnecessarily complex

With every update the app requires to enter pin / password even though the face id /touch id was enabled. If you enter an incorrect pin, your account is disabled and you have to call customer service which takes about 20-30 minutes before you get a capable human being to answer. I travel for living and am a member of just about every loyalty program there is. Do you really expect me to remember password for every travel loyalty app? If it takes me over 30 minutes to login to your app, I will surely book a room from your competitor. More complex is not necessarily better.

We’ve been staying at Holiday Inn Express for many years w/NO problems, ever. As a matter of fact, it is actually our “hotel of Choice” when traveling. The breakfast is always the same, very good, and convenient that we don’t have to try and find a restaurant early in the morning(especially in some of the smaller towns, or areas). Always happy w/ our experience at Holiday Inn Express. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, hotel w/breakfast included.

This has to be the worst login experience of any app I own (now deleted). Force a stupid random PIN on you instead of setting a password I actually know and can remember. Good luck remember in the PIN two weeks later. Get the PIN wrong and they lock your account. You can’t get it unlocked without wasting twenty minutes on their stupid hotline. Give people an easy path to authenticate, get rid of the stupid PIN (you’re not a bank - I just want a hotel room), and for heavens sake don’t waste people’s time on the phone because of your overly restrictive security. Argh. Literally picked a different hotel just so I could move on with my life.

This app stinks. Every time they issue a revision it knocks you out and you can’t get back in with calling and spending 20-30 mins on the phone with them. It will tell me my pin is wrong so I request my pin and it’s the right one! Happens ever time they issue a new version. There’s really no point in having the app. Can’t check in with it, can’t pick your room, can’t use it as your key, it’s not worth anything. I’ve moved almost all my business elsewhere cause it’s so frustrating dealing with it. I prefer the HI express over the Hampton but Hilton’s got it all over them with making it easy to do business with them

I travel weekly for work and IHG hotels and the IHG app are a huge help. They make travel easy because I am able to make and change reservations quickly. I also appreciate the ability to search for hotels using the map to find the best option on my travel route. I have not had a bad stay yet and I keep coming back because I trust the IHG brand.

We had an emergency in our home and needed to stay in a safe and convenient place while the emergency situation was addressed. The Holiday Inn was our first choice. The staff was empathetic, professional and accommodating. The restaurant and room service was very very good and delicious!! We Loved the salmon, the made to order burgers and the quesadillas! Housekeeping was especially accommodating and efficient!! THANK YOU for taking such good care if us !!

I’m currently on the phone with a reservations person. It’s my second call. Both people were incredibly nice and helpful. It has been a rough week and to receive friendly customer service means more than usual. I’ve stayed at Intercontinental hotels a number of times, but never an Evens. If the service at the hotel is this kind I will repeat.

This really has nothing to do with the app per se but the ability to get a folio. As a spire elite it staggers me at to cumbersomeness. All of the other major brands send a PDF folio immediately on the morning of check out but not so with IHG. The hotels don’t even have access to my email address and when I give it the generally screw it up the CHECK OUT email sent out with the HAVE BILL EMAILED is useless. It isn’t in any format I can submit. Not sure why IHG can’t get with the program. This is way too easy and surely I’m not the only person who has this issue

One of the Best apps that any company has to offer. I’m new to this program but we love it. Have stayed at so many places around mostly vacation and just get away trips but memories will last. Have have made so many reservations for most of trips and have never lost any or have we been disappointed. It’s easy and fast most of all it’s convenient.

Have always thought it was a good app. But latest update, I can’t open it. So I deleted the app to reinstall it.... it won’t even reinstall. I’ve got the 6+. Everything else working fine. Deleting app, restarting phone, & reinstalling app again got things moving again. Don’t know why the hoops to jump through needed to be done. But app working again, and great for checking hotel rates & booking.

I make all of my reservations through the app. I can check my points and redeem my free nights through the app. Never had a problem with any reservation and any request that I make through the app is always taken care of by the time I get to the hotel. I would recommend this app to anyone trying to book hotels through IHG.

Wonderful and clean property. The employees so friendly and helpful. They worked with us to add extra days due to a medical situation. I had hip replacement at the hospital in Beaufort. This gave my daughter and grandson a place to help make sure that I was taken care of. Such a wonderful experience staying at a wonderful property. Thanks so much. I have been a member since in the 90s and always stay at Holiday Inn properties

Lovely Stay

We had a very lovely stay over last weekend. It was our second stay this last weekend. We especially enjoy their restaurant. Server Tim is a real asset He is such an asset. Friendly, knowledgeable, with that amazing smile. Our room was very clean and well appointed. Our grandsons play tennis for George Fox Univ. they had matches this weekend. We will back. We traveled from the Seattle area.

Much easier to use this app than to use google maps to get info about where to stay, prices, and what each hotel has. Especially easier when using reward nights as well. Also keeps track of where you have stayed to make it easier to book again.

My family and I ALWAYS stay at Holiday Inn Express. We KNOW we will have heavenly comfy beds, excellent service, immaculately clean rooms, and a wonder free breakfast to get us going in the morning. We are involved with NASCAR racing and travel frequently! We have never encountered a staff that was not friendly and accommodating! Five stars plus!!! Terrible VoiceOver Accessibility Support for Blind Users

The app is difficult to impossible to use with voiceover. There are a lot of items with extremely long and verbose labels. It is next to impossible to complete simple transaction such as hotel reservation using VoiceOver. Furthermore, when you click on apps support, it takes you to a generic IHG page, rather than a group specifically in development or engineering. Apple has detailed information on how to test for voiceover compatibility, and to re-mediate any issues. The app has been difficult to use for a very long time.

The IHG rewards program has really gotten worse in recent years. As a spire elite member I shouldn’t have to fight and spend several minutes on the phone with overseas call centers. I would recommend Marriott Bonvoy over IHG at this point. IHG doesn’t care how much money you spend with them. They think that if they thank you your loyalty and for being a rewards member then that is enough. Otherwise they just treat you like any person that walked in off the street. Shop around, you WILL find a better hotel rewards program than this.

Super easy to use, navigate and book. Maps show you exactly where the hotel is. Scrolling through to select regularly used credit card or rewards points and discounted rates. This is a time saver. Bonus for iPhone users, add the stay to iPhone wallet for quick check in.

I was really impressed with the quality of this hotel. The staff was very friendly. I am slightly handicapped and they made things very easy for me. It may be a little expensive but it was well worth the stay. The breakfast was great the pool was clean and the rooms were very clean. I will definitely be staying there again.
Points page no longer works

I am trying to purchase points for the 80% promotion, but the Points page has been down for two days. When I call to purchase points, they tell me I cannot get that 80% bonus over the phone and to use the website. I tell them the page is down and they do not seem to understand that. Though I am a loyal IHG® member, I am thinking it is time to make a switch.

I have been a member for 30 plus years and think it is the best program available. My only complaint is the current commercials. There have been much better ones over the years such as the old Stay Smart promotion. Those commercials were classics.
Reservations

There is no way to reserve 2 different rooms with one trip through the system. To get one type room for my wife and me and another for my daughter and her 3 kids I had to make 2 reservations. A way to request two different type rooms at once would be great. Otherwise, using the IHG app was great and easy to use to explore different city possibilities. Bill

The messages sent through this app are a pain to delete. Sometimes you have to open the message before you can delete, and, always, when you delete even after reading the app locks up. I don’t read messages anymore.

We brought 27 students and 3 staff to the National Beta Convention. Everything was absolutely wonderful—we couldn’t have asked for better. The rooms were spacious, clean and cozy. The staff was out of this world. From front desk to housekeeping to shuttle drivers, everyone treated us very well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Frequent Invalid Card

The app is great when it works. I have had several attempts while booking it says my card is invalid. The scan option of the credit card does not work. My card is not invalid when then I have to call the hotel to make my reservation with the same credit card. Yes it works. Which is why I have the app for the convenience while traveling. I just spoke with Customer Service. Was told to call my Credit Card company.
Broken log in process

They bribe you to download the app with a free kindle book. But then you can’t login to get the book bs they have the worst login experience I’ve ever seen. You better be able to remember 9 digits over and over. Bc your member number erases if you toggle to another screen to get the remainder of your numbers. Then the PIN function doesn’t work. And each try requires you to re-enter your member #. Horrible. And of course, the contact us link doesn’t work either. Maybe the app is ok, but I’ll never know...

I really like using the IHG app. I travel some and tend to stick to this brand because the accommodations and fairly consistent. My only suggestion would be a way to save your favorite destinations and/or hotels because I also tend to stay in the same locations when I return to a city.

I stay at IHG a lot! Love looking at my map to see where I’ve been, but after one year, they no longer show up on the map. They’re still in the history part though. Can you fix this?
App Is Subpar

IHG has wonderful hotels, but the IHG app is not user friendly or functional in getting you to those hotels. Other hotel apps - Marriott, Hyatt - get it right. IHG needs to take a look at their competitor’s apps. Features such as what type of rooms each hotel offers and accurate descriptions of the rooms and other hotel features need to be added. Also, IHG needs to correct whatever bugs are making the app unusable. I have to use the Internet to make my reservations. What’s the point of the app then? Please fix.
