Tonebridge by UG “$0.00” search any artist literally any, or open workshop and create own sound with the exact same effects, amps, cabs, mics, etc... as AmpKit offers. Only difference AmpKit offers the ability to Record yourself. Literally both the apps have same menu list and options top to bottom. Hopefully this helps at least one individual.

No Restore Purchase Option
by Trev dog 95 on 2019/10/17 01:11
I’ve rated this one star on the basis that there is no restore purchase option. Absolute nonsense.
Where is this “restore purchase” feature?
by II LW1977 on 2019/10/16 04:03
I bought it on IPad last week, and downloaded on IPhone XS, and it wants me to repurchase it, with no “restore purchase” option to be found! This app is scam!!
Just charged me again! No option to restore purchases!

Otherwise nice app, but this obvious bug is quite annoying.

I have all the amp simulation and effects apps on here. I have been playing for 30 years. This one is the best sounding and has the best feel with breakup.
Ripped off because of poorly implemented Restore Purchases.
by Pod Tappa Leo on 2019/08/07 18:23
So I was fairly impressed with Agile Partners years ago, until now. I just lost 37.00 trying to restore my “AmpKit - Guitar Amps and Pedals”. I was just looking to redownload the app I bought as part of the bundle years ago. I downloaded “AmpKit+ Guitar Amps and Pedals” and was prompted to upgrade. I knew I had already bought it and upgraded that one, but could not find a way to restore the purchase other than to hit the upgrade button. Which I did, and lo and behold, Agile charged me 29.99 for the same thing all over again. If you look closely, the name of the app is slightly different. In their FAQ, they say you can restore if you have the same version you downloaded. So that should have been my first clue when I could not find the restore function. Some apps restore your purchase when you purchase, or remind you if you already bought it. NOT THIS ONE. Because technically it isn’t even the same app. So my bad, I guess. Who knows how many thousands of dollars they’ve made with this borderline dishonest and poorly designed UI for upgrades and purchases. STAY AWAY.
All purchases are gone

I think this company has fallen off the radar. I’ve been pleased with the app, but not responding to user’s questions and issues in the App Store is NOT A GOOD SIGN. I too, purchased the entire package a good while ago but now see no RESTORE option. Plus, I see there’s an AmpKit+?? I thought that’s what I had. I’ve still got my old iPhone 7Plus and everything is on there and running great. It even says “ALL AMPS AND PEDALS AVAILABLE...any upcoming gear will be available to you for free”. With my new iPhone XR it’s as if I’m starting all over. They want $49.95 (AGAIN!) I still love the app a lot, but customer service needs to be AMPED up considerably. I’ll add stars when I see some response from developers...not only to me, but to the countless others waiting for answers. I’d love to use the app on my new phone-it’s awesome! But... There’s no RESTORE PURCHASE button/option anywhere on the app or their website.
Doesn’t sound good at all
by Neonjeffrey on 2019/05/23 07:50
This was One of the first guitar amp simulators for the iPhone. I bought a couple of an app purchases back when it first came out and it was OK for a while. However, none of the amps sound anything Nothing like the amps they’re supposed to be. They are also very noisy with lots of background noise as well. The bottom line is the sound quality is terrible. This was fine back in the early days of the iPhone, but today there are so many better quality choices on the App Store. Do yourself a favor and skip this app and go grab one of the many other dozens of guitar amp simulators out there.
Free for a reason! Don’t say I didn warn you.
by Drum Meister on 2019/05/09 13:29
Read the reviews everyone that bought it leaves a bad review and the free people love it.
STILL WONT RESTORE purchases🤬🤬
by mesanoogie115 on 2019/04/26 00:20
Was working until reboot phone. Have had to purchase all gear twice for $50. I contacted these people by email multiple times. They told me that it will be fixed on the next update but still hasn't been. I'm calling my bank to get my money back which shouldn't be a problem 99% of the time the consumer always wins. Otherwise great app
3 Years and still love it!!
by MacUser4Life on 2019/04/07 22:16
I feel for the guys who’ve had problems, but for me? Three years later this app still ROCKS! Seriously. First, understand I bought the whole kit shortly after downloading the freebie, which made everything excellent. Whenever I update, I’m happily surprised with new stuff to try. You need to understand what this app IS. It’s a really great amp rig simulator you can use to create great music, and gain a working knowledge of how to use “real” amps. You don’t have to feel intimidated at the guitar store because you don’t know what will happen when you plug into a 5150. You can walk up, set it, and play. What it ISN’T ...it isn’t a full-on DAW. There are other tools for that. The interface with Garage Band could use some polishing, but I can’t really complain. I figured it out. Just takes a little trial and error. If you want to record your own playing with genuinely good tones, and really experiment with gear before you go buy the real thing, this app is perfect for you. It can be addicting... there is a world of tones and effects to play with. ALSO 🤫 you can import almost any audio and play over top of it... yes. Play with your favorite recordings, and record yourself doing it. It won’t replace studio equipment, and wasn’t meant to. It WILL give you a full rig you can carry in your pocket. With a set of headphones, and a solid body guitar, you can rock out even in the smallest apartment or hotel room. Download it with confidence. I highly recommend it!
Awesome results for me
by Darrin42 on 2019/03/22 14:53
I love this app. I use it with a rock smith cable through a lightning camera adaptor and it works great. Had no problem with ‘restore purchases“ button after upgrading to a new iPhone.
Feeling ripped off - cannot restore purchases
by James Ritts on 2019/02/27 05:52
I cannot restore my purchases due to a UI bug that they refuse to fix. I assume people are still making in-app purchases — be warned you will probably not continue to have access to those products if you get a new phone or reset your current one. Their email support has no solution except that they will ‘fix it in the next update, sorry about that.’ I got that useless email two months ago, and nothing since; and the current version is now a year old, so I have to assume it will never happen. At this point they are just scamming people and should be removed from the App Store. Shame on the owner.
Best iOS Amp Sim Hands Down
by Mikeman1255 on 2019/02/10 14:01
I have use this app for many years, and like others, have experienced some bumps along the way with restoring purchases. But all that was fixed long ago. Bottom line: the sound and feel for me is worlds better than the Bias stuff, AmpliTube or any of the others. It sounds better than many dedicated hardware amp modelers. I love playing through this and even use it live in some situations. I just HOPE the developers keep it alive!!

Don’t buy this app
by dj80junior on 2018/12/14 02:58
I felt it was necessary for me to rate this app with one star in order to have the possibility to review this product and explain to other customers why not to buy this app If you change your phone or tablet you’ll be able to transfer just the software to the app but not the pedals and amps you bought for almost $50.00
Avoid this app
by jimivan on 2018/11/29 04:12
My scenario is the same as many others. I spent $50 a year ago to get everything and now with my new phone I cannot restore any of the purchased items! Avoid this app unless you only want the basic free stuff it comes with. So sad to see this company fail so baldly..
Support response kinda of slow
by cosmicdebriz on 2018/10/24 17:26
Upgraded to iPhone XS Max and could not restore purchases. Took a week for support to reply. They said there is a bug they will fix at next update but also showed me how to get around it and restore my purchases. On another note Peavey is no longer producing or supporting the AmpKit link.
Use to be great, until it became useless...
by Beats By Byrd on 2018/10/21 14:24
This app now is garbage. I purchased the unlock all to get full access to all amps and pedals back in 2016, and now that I’ve upgraded iPhones and iPads, there is no way to restore my purchase. All of my previous recordings are there, but none of my amps. My custom pedals are useless. Great job on app support as well by not returning emails. Also there is no number to call.
AmpKit is alive
by Guitar8 on 2018/10/14 15:41
AmpKit is alive in the app Tonebridge. The people who own Tonebridge bought AmpKit. It looks like they have decided to discontinue having AmpKit evolve which is a shame
The update fixed it late 2017 !!!
by SnoopyinOhio on 2018/10/13 19:01
I've had this app for a while. I paid for the whole package, all was well for a year, then they had a problem, and then they fixed it. I use this on a regular basis. I would say for home use this is PERFECT ! I use it all the time with an iPad or iPhone. I love the variety and the sounds are really good. A lot of warmth , good echo, delay etc. I love the app but the quality of your interface (the thing between your phone and your guitar ) help make it sound even better. Buy the whole kit for about 40 bucks and you get everything. And there’s a ton of stuff. Used peavey interfaces are about 20 bucks and about 60 for an HD model. Great app. Glad they fixed it
Doesn’t work correctly
by pb1298 on 2018/10/02 03:45
The app runs and it can output sound but it does not work when trying to play my instrument. Using iPhone 8 and ios12
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
by Drew2964 on 2018/09/08 02:44
I will be agreeing with last person on this review, time for a lawsuit. Customer support does NOT reach back. I had some money on this app and it will NOT give me an option to restore my purchases since I upgraded my device. This is the WORST company ever and Apple should take this off the App Store. I want this fixed or my money back!!!!!
don’t even try
by DeepestShadeOfJaded on 2018/07/01 19:55
Not what it used to be, it was a great way of getting a tone and I have even used it for recordings which made it a great and simple method and now the tones are all doo doo and worthlesss
Must Have
by ElCaminoGuy on 2018/06/05 09:31
I can’t play real amplifiers anymore. This app has saved me 1000s of dollars in amp swapping. Thanks!
Good to learn
by SchochJohn on 2018/04/04 21:35
Not the best app, but GarageBand is actually way worse than this, not that I’m calling this app bad, because I like this app to play in quiet times... I’d rather play than not have anything at all.. this app is pretty good have had had it for about a year I like it
I got screwed
by ACH65 on 2018/03/26 01:11
I bought everything they had 2 years ago. Now I can’t download my app with a any of the extras I bought.
The most underrated amp sim on iOS, probably the best too...
by JRSIV1975 on 2017/12/25 02:11
I have purchased all of the major iPad amp apps with full upgrades, getting all in app purchases. These include: Amplitube gets a lot of attention online because of the name brand amp models but it sounds very thin and noisy, taking a long time editing and trial & error to get some decent tones. JamUpPro/BIAS is better but the expansions are pricey and the higher gain amps and some clean tones are still noisy. Yanoc's ToneStack is like AmpKit, very underrated, sounds are quite good but the layout is a bit difficult to use quickly. Now Ampkit, Peavey & Agiles app, is the most like playing with an amp, and the sounds are really good. The clean tones have nice sheen and tube sag when you dig in, the dirty tones are very tube like and even the high gain models (the usual shortcoming of amp emulators) aren't too noisy or fizzy to use. My favs are the Bassman model, the Vox AC30 model that breaks up nice with volume control roll up and lastly the HiWatt amp is sweet, using a Strat and neck pickup position produced some excellent lead tones straight from Cream era Clapton's playbook. Very nice job by the developers and worth every cent to upgrade to get everything, the stomp models are excellent too. UPDATE AFTER V. 2.3: It appears Agiles licensing term with Peavey has expired, leading to the Peavey amps being renamed, but that in no way compromises the sound quality of this app. 2 years later and it’s still a favorite of mine. True, some apps do certain sounds & amp emulations better, but AmpKit does something’s better than those apps. With the cost of the Everything Bundle not coming close to half of what a decent overdrive pedal costs, this app is a bargain & should be owned by every guitarist who uses an iPad.
Finally an UPDATE!
by neitsabz on 2017/12/23 18:11
I’m still using this app after so many years and it’s still working smoothly with iPhone7+ and latest iOS. I’m connecting my guitar thru AmpKit LiNK HD The effects sounds realistic just connect it to decent headphones or amp to fully enjoy! I hope Agile Partners will be active in supporting and developing this app because it’s a very good app. Also they should create a script that will automatically convert the regular AmpKit to AmpKit+ if the AmpKit+ Bundle Upgrade has been purchased.
Decent
by Blade John on 2017/11/19 13:01
The sounds you get currently are really good. Alas, the display is screwed up with the amplifier knobs in the way wrong spots. Plus they haven’t actually added any new gear in I don’t know how long.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING!!!
by cocopunk1486 on 2017/08/01 21:53
Not worth it to buy any gear. The preloaded stuff is good for basics and if you're a beginner. I used this for years, and when I got a new phone and tried to restore my previous purchases (mostly pedals and one amp) it didn't work. Tried to load the app on my iPad and that didn't work either. I was finally able to get everything back on my phone but the headache wasn't really worth it. Bottom line, purchases are hard to restore. If you're in the market for an average amp with easy features and relatively simple interface this is your go to. Another important note, feedback and noise filters on this aren't very good. Sometimes they just stop working if I'm playing for too long. At first I thought maybe my guitar wasn't grounded but no it was the app.
Peavy
by Andy1589 on 2017/07/23 06:39
I read somewhere a while back that Peavy was going out of business. Haven't heard about it since. Maybe that explains your difficulties. Maybe you can find out.
Why is this app unsupported?
by Tony In Carmel on 2017/07/09 22:50
I recently purchased the $49.99 package of all amps and pedals. I have been unable to restore that purchase on my new iPad as it seems everyone else here. This is outrageous. All applications have bugs, but to receive no communication back whatsoever from their support is no different than having no support at all. If Agile does not straighten this out soon I would be happy to join a class action lawsuit against them and Apple as well for their crappy quality control. They should be validating that their vendors are providing the deliverables that they are promising to deliver. For a company named Agile they are showing no agility. Whether they realize it or not, Agile is committing fraud with each passing day that they do not bring these problems to resolution. Some people on here registered complaints seven months ago. Have they been resolved? Mine haven't. I've already contacted them by email three times without a response or even an acknowledgment that they received the email. I hope the Apple Corporation understands that this undermines the credibility and authority of the App Store.
Very Disappointed
by aintjoemama on 2017/07/05 13:56
Just purchased today, looked through the pics where it advertises 'works with any guitar adapter" well I wrongly assumed it would work with my audio interface Presonus iAudio Two. Well .....It registers as USB input but no sound. All of the other effects apps I have work so this ended up being a waste of my money. And also the advertisement to buy the iApp purchase keeps popping up upon start but I have already purchased. $49.99 gone.
Foot switcher
by Farqhaleez on 2017/07/03 16:39
Please give free foot switcher for every amp. its too difficult to change from lead to clean bcs the button too small to handle
No turning back
by flexidan on 2017/05/09 01:10
I was just about to write a review asking them to restore the capacity for the interface display to turn upside down when you turn your phone over and use it with the headphone jack on the top. I used to love that feature as I could stand my phone on my music stand and still use the app the right way up. But reading the other reviews here, it looks like there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that the people who sell this thing will listen to a request from a long-time user (years and years, by the way.) So … I guess I’ll just add my voice to the chorus of disappointment. What a shame.
Well..
by Lord Dominus on 2017/04/22 03:54
I was upset as well when I couldn't restore my purchases , and not to long down the road they updated the app and my purchases were restored. I love this app , it has a good amount of effects and the price to get different bundles. Pedals , amp heads etc. isn't to bad. Check it out , you'll dig it! Strum on !
Will not work on iPhone 7 w/o headphone jack.
by Mazdita on 2017/04/16 19:57
I finally was able to restore all my purchases after the last update but the app will not recognize any "headphones" input using the lightning adaptor that comes with the phone. App keeps saying no input. Now i can't use the app at all. Please fix or make an update suitable for he iPhone 7.
Bought 'Unlock all' - its all gone now
by LetThereBeGuitar on 2017/03/24 01:02
I bought 'unlock all' in the app for $49.99 on 10/4/2014. App worked great, dug the models, used it regularly, all good. Stopped using it completely for a long time, have had two new phones since then, and tried to use it today. The free Peavey models work, but the rest of it - its like I never made a purchase. All my presets are there but none of the models they use are available. The app is pushing me to re-buy everything. I already gave them $50! Why? Left two support requests on their website today, haven't even received an auto-acknowledgement email from them - nothing. I have no idea what I can do to fix this, if anything. From reading other's comments here with similar stories, it looks like nothing unless someone starts a class action. If you haven't bought it yet, don't. Go buy something else that won't forget your purchases, from someone else that supports and stands behind their product.

People are having a similar issue with restoring IAPs with this app to that of the major Fn Headache I have had with Amplitube IAPs. Not the same - I didn't buy the all access option and have it completely defraud me like some people (and I thank those people for sharing your frustrating stories cause it helped me with my next decision). What did happen - and this happened in Amplitube - was that suddenly after a certain iOS update all of the IAPs I had been slowly plucking away at - buying a couple bundles and several singles across my iPhone and iPad 4th gen retina - became accessible only from the device which I made the IAP from. So everything is split across two versions of their free version. Tech support was there via email, but they wanted me to do some pretty time consuming stuff (that had to be done from iTUNES OSX) to prove that I had bought the stuff (??). That's when they told me that it was on me because you can only access your IAPs from the original device you purchased them from .. This was total BS since I had been accessing everything across both and had even neglected to indicate that my first device I made my first purchases from was an iPod 4th gen that no longer existed. Tech support via email was almost too present since they closed my support ticket before I had even read the last email. And since they wanted me to do all of this stuff that in hind sight was me troubleshooting a bigger problem for them when RESTORING IAPS BECAME A VERY MESSY SMEAR and left them making excuses for being negligible that seemed to fit WHATEVER YOUR SITUATION, BUT ONLY AFTER THEY GET YOU TO EXPOSE WHAT YOUR SITUATION IS - ITS FRAUDULENT! I'm hoping people who got burnt get taken care of here, but if you do get a hold of them be weary about what they want from you. Nothing about spending your App Credit should be this crusty. So in going to NOT BUY ANY IAPs in AMPKIT, CUT MY LOSES W/AMPLITUBE, AND GO GET JAMUPXT PRO FOR $4.99 .. maybe go all out with $25 for all of it. There doesn't seem to be the same kinda BS issues on that side of the crust. Thx.

Class Action Lawsuit Time
by Gern Blasnton on 2017/01/09 20:49
Agile Partners recently released an update to this app but they are impossible to contact. Three times I was charged for the complete unlock and just now for the Summer ’11 pack. Year ago when I first purchased this app IAPs were always restored. Since then the app will TAKE YOUR MONEY and give you NOTHING. I tried to restore and it didn’t work so I thought if I went through the purchase process it would tell me I already bought it. (Apple needs to fix this as well. You should be notified BEFORE money is taken!) It went through the purchase and then gave me an error message”PURCHASE FAILED THIS OPERATION COULDN’T BE COMPLETED. (SKERRORDOMAIN ERROR-2005)” YES, THE PURCHASE FAILED BUT AGILE GOT MY MONEY! This renders Apple’s quality control USELESS! This is theft. Others stolen from in this manner should consider a class action law suit against Agile Partners. If I see more reports I will create a FaceBook page for those being ripped off.

Constantly crashes
by Metr0knome on 2016/08/12 10:08
Every time I run this with inter app audio in Auria it crashes. I set the tone, get it right, record a take, then when I try a second take it crashes. If I use another app in another channel (like a drum track), it crashes. A MAJOR UPDATE is desperately needed, but I haven't seen a one...is this ABANDONWARE? Save your money...what a shame...because the tones would be worth it if the app were only stable...
Okay

I had this app for a mobile jamming when I couldn't take my amp and pedals, The feed back and static is very annoying and the tone is poor, I have switched to garage band for my needs, I recommend the same, it provides many more options and bigger recording space and much more
Deceptive Marketing
by Infovein on 2016/07/15 22:01
Deceptive marketing. App boasts over 150 presets, almost none of which can be used without purchasing several in-app purchases. Upon loading app first time, user is presented with an offer of $9.99 for what is carefully worded as a "complete set" of amps and effects. This cost only purchased a miniscule amount of what would be required to play the presets and you don't discover this until after purchasing this "deal" which expires in 3 minutes. Asking for a refund.
No support for apogee one
by Majax BBQ on 2016/07/08 02:05
No support just un kept promises of contact.l used this app with my apogee about a year then poof an update no more support. Previously I bought the Peavey interface to go with it that was supposed to charge my device as I play. So they finally come out with the adapters to charge my device boom another broken promise it won't work with the interface I have purchased. what a joke
Purchase won't restore on a new device, no support.
by MN_Ute on 2016/05/24 12:07
Revised: Restore Purchases Working again! Some new pedals etc would be great but still a worthwhile app. Works fine on old iPad but can't restore purchase on new iPad.

Review after over a year of usage
by Bonfan on 2016/05/02 12:12
I want to start by saying that i was double charged and gave the company ample time to refund the over charge. I was charged for two full versions. Im hoping this review might encourage them to resolve this. I used this product for a long time with mixed results. I purchased the full version all the pedals and presets. My brother plays guitar I play bass. This worked really well for the guitar with only a couple problems with feedback. My PROBLEMS are all on the Bass side. I have both active and passive basses I used. Bottom line is it just sounds bad. Theres a lot of noise poor signal to noise ratio. There are a few amps that I selected that screached horribly through my amp. You do have to calibrate this. If you don't you may double up on your effects and volumes. Even after calibration the bass tones lacked any presence or definition. Most of the amp choices left me needing to shift to my bridge pick ups in order to get any tone. Even still it's just weak when it comes to modeling the bass amps. The pedals and the controls all work quite well and the detail is great. The dials respond nicely to your touch. The latency was not even an issue. Frankly, it's great for the electric guitar. For me its now just taking up memory on my ipad. You never know maybe it's just me not knowing what i'm doing. However, the customer service is non existant. I wanted to give them a chance to walk me through the process a little bit and maybe play it for them to hear. I would love to update this review if they would address these issues. Anyway, sorry for such a long worded review. So in summary Guitar. 4 star Bass. 1 star because sound Did come through After all Layout. 4.5 Selection of pedals 5 star Selection of mics 5 star Preset combos for those just want to plug in and go 5 star Customer support 0 star Price to value awesome for you guitarists
Ok app

This app us ok however does not sound as good as some others out there like jamup pro and bias !
Great App
by Al453 on 2016/03/29 23:34
I have Ampkit and Amplitube, and I've deleted Amplitube off my phone, because Ampkit sounded way more realistic. I bought Amplitube on the iphone, and then learned that downloading it on the iPad does not give you the same features that you paid for on the iPhone. You to have basically buy the app all over for the iPad. Anyway, AmpKit was a much better buy. About reviews regarding feedback, you can also adjust the mic on the amp to avoid feedback. I found moving it to the side instead of the center eliminates noise. The noise gate is also great.
Great app, but the backing track feature needs work
by Hammsammish on 2016/02/12 20:29
It would make things alot easier if i could skip to any part of a backing track, just like with the recording feature. If you want to get to a certain point in a backing track you have to wait the whole song to get to it. Also if there was a feature to layer recordings over the same backing track without removing the original track it would make recording easier. Whenever i reamp a recording, id like to be able to edit one part of a song without reamping the whole song.
Don't buy
by Activeold on 2016/01/29 12:40
Unlocking you purchase won't work. Steals your money. Don't buy.
Nice app
by lespaulman69 on 2016/01/26 15:36
I really like the app. Only problem that I have with it is the feedback. I get pretty bad feedback even while using headphones. I can dial out the feedback with a little tweaking, just wish I didn't have to. Other than that it pretty awesome. Great recording and I can use it with other apps like GarageBand. I use it for hard rock and metal, so I can't comment on other genres.
Rip Off
by kelsieilesha on 2016/01/10 23:22
Paid to unlock the pedals/amps. Phone broke, and had to get a replacement. Got the new phone, downloaded the app, and now all of my in app purchases are gone. I feel like I wasted my money.
Works good I am not disappointed!!!!!
by Smoo1218 on 2016/01/10 22:52
Needs i rig stomp support But pedals sound good for coming out of phone best app of its kind for sure !!!
Awesome Tone and Options
by Witz00123334 on 2016/01/06 04:51
Update: The more I use this app the better it gets. Found the backing tracks function built-in to the app that is loaded with drum and other instrument backing tracks to jam to. You can record and loop the backing tracks and select whether you want to record them on your track or not. It also has a "re-amping" widget that allows you to record a track using one amp and then with a single click, run the track though another amp set-up on AmpKit. I recorded a clean track and re-amped it to a high-distortion amp and it sounded incredible...very cool and easy to use function. Went ahead and bought the full package with all amp/cab/stomp and it is AMAZING! Thinking about getting the IK Media Blue Board which is bluetooth and core MIDI compliant to I can control my AmpKit amps and stomps hands-free on my iPad. The sustain on AmpKit holds without breaking. Did a fast legato run up and down the fret board last night and it sounded better through AmpKit than if I was plugged directly into my Peavey amp. AmpKit rocks hard, sounds amazing and is packed with options. - This app is the best amp simulator for ipad. Have tried several others and they sound subpar compared to Ampkit. Purchased the Meteor amp and holy smokes does it rock! Sound is amazing. When you buy the amp, th matching cab comes free. Ampkit comes with built-in recording function so you don't need to run it through another app to record your tracks. But you can if you want to. This app is uber user friendly on the ipad. You can run and play it through Garage Band but in my opinion it doesn't sound as good as running the app by itself. Lots of in-app effects, amps, and cabs that you can purchase for a couple bucks. I play heavy metal so I only purchased a couple of amps. Built-in sound gate works great too. Can't say enough good things about this app. Sound and functionality is spot on. Rock on!
Unlocking all amps works on only 1 device
by Tapir3 on 2016/01/03 23:26
I have an iPod and an iPad. I paid the full price to unlock all of the amps and effects. However, it only unlocked them on one device. If I want to unlock them on the other device I have to pay the full amount again. Jam up, Bias and Amplitube work on all my devices without having to pay for them a second time. Agile is a rip off. I want my money back. Plus, what if one of my devices breaks and I need to purchase a new one. I would have to buy this app all over again.
Sound not nearly as good as Amplitube
by Shadowfaxs3 on 2015/12/23 04:09
Bought an iRig2, realized the app only includes a few options and the rest are $$$. Tried AmpKit and bought the $9.99 upswell before actually trying it (just read reviews here) It sounds terrible. I tried most of the presets available in the $9.99 pack (a small subset of the total available) and nothin sounds good. Lots of noise/hum/feedback even King Clean sounds muffled and "noisey". Amplitube just works and sounds great. Try before you buy!
Great app, but irig stomp support please
by ram msx3 on 2015/12/03 03:14
I'm disappointed there's no support for the irig stomp
Ampkit
by jcrocks53 on 2015/12/02 02:41
Pretty cool app, only thing is, when I first set it up, they offered all amps n pedals for $29.99, went to buy it and it went away m charged my card $12 for a smaller setup with mostly distortion pedals, any suggestions ?
Tried and true workhorse
by JayHoustonTX on 2015/11/21 17:41
I've used this app numerous times in live settings, and in the last couple of years have used a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller to trigger effects and switch settings (connected via iRig MIDI, with guitar connected via iRig Stomp in the headphone jack). No noticeable latency with the foot controller, and minimal latency in regards to sound. Same sound latency via 30-pin guitar interface. If you are an audiophile and tone snob, then walk away and go plug into your tube amp. If you require a variety of usable tones, then this app is great. Very tweakable, with lots of deep functions if you take the time to explore and experiment. For instance, you can have the same amp and effects settings for two different guitars, but have one setting with the input gain set higher for a guitar with lower output pickups. You can have an effects-only setting to feed through the effects loop in your amp, if you prefer. Lots of possibility here that I still have to experiment with. I've had this app on my iPad 3 since I bought it, and only very recently have I seen some indication that the iPad may have some trouble keeping up. I've put lots of time and $$ to collect hardware and in-app upgrades to have a usable virtual rig, and I only have great things to say about my experience using Ampkit. Fantastic app.
Just meh.
by rmo5008 on 2015/11/14 03:06
I read the reviews on this before giving it a try. I am disappointed. I was expecting a bit more start up play pretties to get the feel of the app and its capabilities. Sounds alright I suppose but I am not wow'ed enough to buy anything. Not when I have GarageBand and amplitude to play with. Why even bother with a "free" version?
What more could you ask for?
by jec444 on 2015/11/11 19:41
I love this app. I use my iRig to connect and for less than the price of a real distortion pedal I unlocked everything! This would have cost me thousands back in the 1980's. I've spent weeks experimenting with all the different options and it can make almost any sound for guitar or vocals. Plus, the guitar tuner is simple and perfect if you use exotic tuning (Drop B etc). It works great with Audiobus and its like having access to the entire guitar store on your phone. A must have app for any guitarist.
Great tone
by MaliceCowboy on 2015/10/18 03:51
A fully loaded AmpKit won't disappoint! Great tones! My only request would be a variety of reverbs in the pedal section
Powerful
by Guitarnate27 on 2015/10/17 01:56
This app has some of the best tones and tube-like sound I've heard and I own amplitube which is a little weak and tinny compared to Ampkit. I got the complete package and it comes loaded with presets and also the options to download patches over the Internet.
Best there is, just wish it supported...
by VanityVania on 2015/09/17 03:17
The Behringer iStudio. Sure i could buy another interface but right now i don't have the money. Apparently is supports the IO Dock, so Agile Partners needs to support the iStudio dock as well. Edited: found out that it is indeed supported. Means i don't have to use the wasted money that was Jamup
A must have
by aao83 on 2015/08/25 15:18
If you play guitar and you don't have this app, you are missing out! So simple to use, no need to carry tons of equipment such as cables and pedals, this thing is amazing!! Only thing I can ask for is an interface where u can easily interchange set ups for real time jamming! It's kinda hard to quickly change your pedals if u are playing along with a song or if you're jamming live but that aside, this app is everything a musician can ask for!!
This app rawks!
by Rockin guitar on 2015/08/09 18:02
Buy this one! So much better than the others I compared it to (GarageBand, amplitube, jamup) and you get a one time offer to unlock all Amps and effects for $19.99 (way cheaper than the competition). Classic and high gain Amos sound awesome and the effects are plentiful and great. I use it with a traveler guitar and an irig. Wanted something better than the mediocre tone of GarageBand. Ampkit blows it away. Comes with preset amp/effect chains that sound great too. You can tweak signal chain, cab, mic and save as new presets. You won't be disappointed.
Great app, bundle worth the money too!
by Seorsa10 on 2015/07/03 15:51
I am not a musician, and am just learning to play the ukulele. I am terrible, but this app has made the practice time I need go by so quickly because it is so fun. I really am just learning cords and getting my fingers/hand to move right, but the amazing variety of amps and effects means I never get bored during this tedious time. The sounds are amazing and the variety is endless.
Review the app, not the hardware....
by bxaxh on 2015/06/30 14:40
The negative reviews seem to all be about the hardware. I've used Ampkit since the first version and started with the original Link. I now use a different input device and have only great things to say about the app. The user interface is simpler and easier to use than other apps and with the ability to unlock everything at a big discount, you get way more options for less money than the other apps. It may not be flashy and slick, but it runs more reliably. No problems with inter-app audio or Audiobus. Love the ability to share back and forth with friends. This is a solid app that started out strong but has been improved continuously and is now one of the best out there for the money. As the mobile devices have gotten better, Ampkit has harnessed the available power and the latest version running on an iPhone 6 or newer iPad is simply flawless.
Amazing
by The player 368923762 on 2015/06/12 03:12
Better than the recommended software for my i rig!! Only downside is that extra stuff is kinda expensive, other than that great interface and functionality!
Worth it
by Puzzleddd on 2015/05/20 07:25
Have the full blown version. Worth it totally. Went thru it again tonight and it renewed my interest in playing. These all sound great. Thanks Agile, keep going!
Other reviews seemingly written by owners.
by Umbrian on 2015/05/17 08:22
The clean channels sound pretty good, unless you use a noise filter that they supply, then bass strings sound "clunky" is the best way I can describe it. Their chorus is great. Easy to find a good mix using a couple in line. All distortion units that I've tried (and I have the whole package) sound like noise. There's no full sound at all. Unless you're a child or a metal/noise head I don't recommend their pitiful distortion units. And that kills the usefulness of the app.
Good sh$t
by Gunsgunsguns on 2015/05/15 02:45
Love it use it all the time
The best there is!
by Uber Awesomeness on 2015/05/10 22:44
I've tried all of the guitar amp sims on the App Store, and without a doubt, this is the best. There's amps from several big-name companies, and also some smaller (but just as good) ones. The pedals are a perfect complement to the amps. The basic effects (reverb, delay, chorus, etc.) are done beautifully, the more advanced effects (modulations, acoustic, ring, etc.) are equally useful. But the OD's and distortions are the real stars. Very realistic, very versatile. Highly recommended!
Love it!
by PJinDaUP on 2015/04/24 23:31
I use it live, at home recording, jamming with friends; my Triaxis rack setup is getting lonely. Tons of great, high quality, great sounding amp/effect/cab/mic models. Great job Agile! Keep it up!
Great app. Glad they fixed it
Class Action Lawsuit Time
by Gern Blasnton on 2017/01/09 20:49
Agile Partners recently released an update to this app but they are impossible to contact.
Thank me later - MUST READ
by JLAM6661 on 2019/11/08 04:12
Tonebridge by UG “$0.00” search any artist literally any, or open workshop and create own sound with the exact same effects, amps, cabs, mics, etc... as AmpKit offers. Only difference AmpKit offers the ability to Record yourself. Literally both the apps have same menu list and options top to bottom. Hopefully this helps at least one individual.
Well..
by Lord Dominus on 2017/04/22 03:54
I was upset as well when I couldn't restore my purchases , and not to long down the road they updated the app and my purchases were restored. I love this app , it has a good amount of effects and the price to get different bundles. Pedals , amp heads etc. isn't to bad. Check it out , you'll dig it! Strum on !

Can't restore purchases
by Strato_caster on 2016/12/20 20:43
I've beening trying to get in touch with Agile for over a month now about the error I am getting. I have submitted a number of support requests without a single response. From what I can see from others this isn't unusual for them. I am trying to restore my purchase of "all gear unlock". I am getting the error saying: "The operation couldn't be completed. (SKErrorDomain error - 2005.) Don't count on any support after your purchase.
Decent
by Blade John on 2017/11/19 13:01
The sounds you get currently are really good. Alas, the display is screwed up with the amplifier knobs in the way wrong spots. Plus they haven’t actually added any new gear in I don’t know how long.
Awesome results for me
by Darrin42 on 2019/03/22 14:53

Good to learn
by SchochJohn on 2018/04/04 21:35
Not the best app, but GarageBand is actually way worse than this, not that I’m calling this app bad, because I like this app to play in quiet times... I’d rather play than not have anything at all.. this app is pretty good have had had it for about a year I like it
Use to be great, until it became useless...
by Beats By Byrd on 2018/10/21 14:24
This app now is garbage.
The best!

Ran fine until latest update.
by Sass-age68 on 2017/01/03 01:05
This new update completely crashed the app on my iPhone and iMac. I can't restore my purchases nor get it to run properly. Emailed Agile support a week ago; still no response. Great to see how they take care of their customers.

STAY AWAY.

Also there is no number to call.

by SnoopyinOhio on 2018/10/13 19:01
I've had this app for a while.

Well..

Thx.

I bout the whole package and now its gone. I did a back up from my old iPhone6 then did the transfer to the iPhone 7 and the app isn't in my iTunes and the iPhone6 list the app as well. I need help. I don't want to spend another $49 on this again.

This new update completely crashed the app on my iPhone and iMac. I can't restore my purchases nor get it to run properly. Emailed Agile support a week ago; still no response. Great to see how they take care of their customers.

Okay
by Zip bomb on 2016/07/28 03:11
I had this app for a mobile jamming when I couldn't take my amp and pedals, The feed back and static is very annoying and the tone is poor, I have switched to garage band for my needs, I recommend the same, it provides many more options and bigger recording space and much more
Deceptive Marketing
by Infovein on 2016/07/15 22:01
Deceptive marketing.

Great App
by Al453 on 2016/03/29 23:34
I have Ampkit and Amplitube, and I've deleted Amplitube off my phone, because Ampkit sounded way more realistic.

Nice app
by lespaulman69 on 2016/01/26 15:36
I really like the app.

Only downside is that extra stuff is kinda expensive, other than that great interface and functionality!

by Puzzleddd on 2015/05/20 07:25
Have the full blown version.

Keep it up!

Thank me later - MUST READ

Tonebridge by UG “$0.00” search any artist literally any, or open workshop and create own sound with the exact same effects, amps, cabs, mics, etc... as AmpKit offers. Only difference AmpKit offers the ability to Record yourself. Literally both the apps have same menu list and options top to bottom. Hopefully this helps at least one individual.
Well..

Awesome results for me
by Darrin42 on 2019/03/22 14:53
I love this app. I use it with a rock smith cable through a lightning camera adaptor and it works great. Had no problem with ‘restore purchases“ button after upgrading to a new iPhone.
The best!
by Namratiug on 2019/09/21 19:11
I have all the amp simulation and effects apps on here. I have been playing for 30 years. This one is the best sounding and has the best feel with breakup.
All purchases are gone
by Hfkfjc on 2019/07/04 16:16
No option to restore I want my money back
Will not work on iPhone 7 w/o headphone jack.
by Mazdita on 2017/04/16 19:57
I finally was able to restore all my purchases after the last update but the app will not recognize any "headphones" input using the lightning adaptor that comes with the phone. App keeps saying no input. Now i can't use the app at all. Please fix or make an update suitable for he iPhone 7.
Free for a reason! Don’t say I didn warn you.
by Drum Meister on 2019/05/09 13:29
Read the reviews everyone that bought it leaves a bad review and the free people love it.
Foot switcher
by Farqhaleez on 2017/07/03 16:39
Please give free foot switcher for every amp. its too difficult to change from lead to clean bcs the button too small to handle
Love it
by Gdfsfh on 2017/02/16 12:11
I love this app just wish they would add more stuff to it and say what amp, speaker cabinet, mic and pedals are based off of
Just charged me again! No option to restore purchases!
by MaverickX75X on 2019/10/14 16:57
Just got charged $50 for something I already purchased! No option to restore original purchases! Ridiculous ! I want my money back
Must Have
by ElCaminoGuy on 2018/06/05 09:31
I can’t play real amplifiers anymore. This app has saved me 1000s of dollars in amp swapping. Thanks!
No longer works with iOS 10
by Le Beau! on 2016/10/18 07:35
You can't add songs 'from your iPod' anymore, & crashes often. Also, they don't answer their helpline emails anymore (such as a fix to above). Time to use something else....
Previous purchases not showing up
by EDMmagician on 2018/12/31 22:31
Bought a couple pedals last year and they are no longer showing up
No way to layer tracks
by Swaggysweg34689 on 2017/01/07 03:32
Great sounds but no way to redub, which is the primary reason why I record
Where’s the restore purchases button
by Apps2Use on 2019/01/18 23:53
I gave it 1 star because it doesn’t appear to let me restore my purchases. I spent a lot of money on this app. Let me know if I'm missing something.
Worked a couple days ago but doesn't now...
by CapnCody1622 on 2017/10/07 20:12
The app can hear my guitar but I can't hear it in my headphones. The app is completely useless if it can't do this one basic function.
Where is this “restore purchase” feature?
by II LW1977 on 2019/10/16 04:03
I bought it on IPad last week, and downloaded on IPhone XS, and it wants me to repurchase it, with no “restore purchase” option to be found! This app is scam!!
Took my money - Can’t restore purchases
by Piper70 on 2017/10/12 11:56
Unable to restore my in-app purchases. Money gone for nothing. User beware.
Peavy
by Andy1589 on 2017/07/23 06:39
I read somewhere a while back that Peavy was going out of business. Haven't heard about it since. Maybe that explains your difficulties. Maybe you can find out.
AmpKit is alive
by Guitar8 on 2018/10/14 15:41
AmpKit is alive in the app Tonebridge. The people who own Tonebridge bought AmpKit. It looks like they have decided to discontinue having AmpKit evolve which is a shame
don’t even try
by DeepestShadeOfJaded on 2018/07/01 19:55
Not what it used to be, it was a great way of getting a tone and I have even used it for recordings which made it a great and simple method and now the tones are all doo doo and worthlesss
Doesn’t work correctly
by pb1298 on 2018/10/02 03:45
The app runs and it can output sound but it does not work when trying to play my instrument. Using iPhone 8 and ios12
I got screwed
by ACH65 on 2018/03/26 01:11
I bought everything they had 2 years ago. Now I can’t download my app with a any of the extras I bought.
Great
by JacobIhome on 2016/12/05 18:15
Just what you want
I don't get it
by Rwhitlow3 on 2017/02/23 02:24
I pay $49 for the full version for my iphone and iPad, but you want me to pay another $49 to have the same on my Macbook Pro? Really?
They took what I payed for.
by Pooopyloopy on 2017/03/15 06:05
The app sucked anyways, just use tonebridge. I bought 5 pedals which was about 15-20 dollars worth and then they were all gone.
AmpKit is garbage
by Zeomegastar on 2017/03/19 23:42
Don't waste your money, the app doesn't work. It changes sounds on you unexpectedly and the company is stealing from its customers.
Can’t restore purchases on iPhone
by Foobar2588653 on 2019/10/08 16:53
Otherwise nice app, but this obvious bug is quite annoying.
No Restore Purchase Option
by Trev dog 95 on 2019/10/17 01:11
I’ve rated this one star on the basis that there is no restore purchase option. Absolute nonsense.
Can’t restore purchases!!!
by Ian Bolo on 2019/01/21 22:30
Recently upgraded to iPhone X, no way to restore past purchases. Lame.
